- 0:00Speaker 1: Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me?
- 0:02Speaker 1: I'm the only one here. It's one more thing.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I'm strong and geddy.
- 0:07Speaker 1: One more thing. Okay, you are both young and a woman,
- 0:14Speaker 1: and I feel like Taxi Drivers more of a man's movie.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Have you seen Taxi Driver?
- 0:19Speaker 2: I have seen Taxi Driver.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Oh and it's very old. It's from the early seventies.
- 0:23Speaker 1: But de Niro is creepy delicious in that movie.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It's a disturbing movie, no doubt. What do you think
- 0:30Speaker 2: of it?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Slimy vibe from him in that movie, the whole movie's
- 0:37Speaker 3: I haven't seen it in years, but I just remember
- 0:39Speaker 3: getting a real ick vibe.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well what child prostitution? Yeah, serial killers? He said,
- 0:45Speaker 1: what's what's the you? Yeah, it's an inck movie. Speaking
- 0:51Speaker 1: of movies, before we get back to Robert de Niro,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I watched with my eighth grader No Country for Old
- 0:57Speaker 1: Men over the weekend because I've been telling them is
- 1:00Speaker 1: might be my all time favorite movie. It's certainly in
- 1:02Speaker 1: the top handful of favorite all time movies. And he
- 1:08Speaker 1: hadn't seen it, and it's pretty danged violent. He's fourteen
- 1:12Speaker 1: and a half. I don't know, but I did the
- 1:14Speaker 1: research on it, what people thought, but parents thought, We
- 1:18Speaker 1: watch it and dang it, that's a good movie. Just
- 1:22Speaker 1: every scene is like perfect. I still don't know what
- 1:25Speaker 1: the point of it is, though, I feel I feel
- 1:27Speaker 1: like I hada nail that down at some point. If
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna call him that my favorite movie, do you
- 1:31Speaker 1: know what the point of it is? Yeah?
- 1:34Speaker 2: The world changes so much you no longer feel part
- 1:37Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: That's it. I can attest to that, by the way.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and that is a feeling I'm familiar with. Anyway,
- 1:51Speaker 1: back to Robert de Niro, he for some reason, at
- 1:54Speaker 1: age one hundred and six, with his nineteen year old
- 1:58Speaker 1: wife and fourteen kids. He lives there in New York,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and he decided to show up in front of the
- 2:03Speaker 1: courthouse today where the Trump final arguments are going on,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and start talking to people, press or whatever. I mean.
- 2:12Speaker 1: If Robert de Naro shows up on a street corner,
- 2:14Speaker 1: you're gonna draw a crowd. He's very, very famous. Man.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It was a nut. Anyway, we played the edited version
- 2:21Speaker 1: on the air. I haven't heard the unbleeped version because
- 2:24Speaker 1: I guess there's a lot of cussing, not from him,
- 2:26Speaker 1: but other Trump supporters who are there arguing with him,
- 2:29Speaker 1: let's let's listen to it a little bit.
- 2:30Speaker 4: I mean, this is really even these people over here,
- 2:36Speaker 4: it's kind of crazy. It's really crazy. And this this
- 2:43Speaker 4: thing Donald Trump has created this.
- 2:46Speaker 1: He should be telling them not to do this, but
- 2:49Speaker 1: he's just.
- 2:51Speaker 4: He wants to so total he wants he wants to
- 2:56Speaker 4: sew total chaos, which he's succeeding in some areas ten
- 3:00Speaker 4: places to do.
- 3:03Speaker 1: What offends me about the whole thing is him thinking
- 3:08Speaker 1: that he should have a role in this because he's
- 3:11Speaker 1: a famous actor.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, there wasn't a lot to like in that clip.
- 3:18Speaker 3: The only thing I really appreciated was the guy losing
- 3:21Speaker 3: his mind in the background.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You that was my favorite part. I guess because we
- 3:29Speaker 1: elevate these people so much that athletes and singers and
- 3:32Speaker 1: actors think that they have more wisdom. But like you're
- 3:36Speaker 1: always pointing out, Okay, if I'm just going to pick
- 3:38Speaker 1: a random person to have an opinion on this, let's
- 3:41Speaker 1: go get the guy down there that runs the bodega
- 3:43Speaker 1: that sells people newspapers and chips all day long. Ask
- 3:46Speaker 1: him what he thinks. His opinion is every bit is
- 3:49Speaker 1: valid and in many ways, as Ricky Gervaise would point out,
- 3:52Speaker 1: more valid, because they have more of a normal life.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Well, sure, the whole incestuous thing in Hollywood, where you're
- 3:59Speaker 2: aired and lauded and you repeat all of the opinions
- 4:04Speaker 2: of everyone around you to their approval and cheers, and
- 4:09Speaker 2: then you start to think, you know what, I am
- 4:12Speaker 2: a great man, I'm a great thinker. I'm always right.
- 4:15Speaker 2: People always agree with me, not realizing, Yeah, you live
- 4:20Speaker 2: and work in a tiny little club of crazy nuts.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Let's hear the other de Niro clip.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I love the city. I love this city. I don't
- 4:30Speaker 4: want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not
- 4:34Speaker 4: only the city but the country, and eventually he could
- 4:38Speaker 4: destroy the world. But we vowed we would not allow
- 4:44Speaker 4: terrorists do. I owe the city a lot. And that's
- 4:52Speaker 4: why it's so weird that Donald Trump is just across
- 4:55Speaker 4: the street because he doesn't belong in my city. I
- 5:00Speaker 4: don't know where he belongs, but he surely doesn't belong here.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I don't think he's coming off as a half wit.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Doesn't he belong at home changing a diaper because he
- 5:10Speaker 3: has a one month old.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I don't think it's weirder that Donald Trump's over there
- 5:14Speaker 1: in a courtroom than that Robert de Niro is standing
- 5:17Speaker 1: over here talking about politics.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he was kind of required to be there. Why
- 5:21Speaker 2: are you here?
- 5:24Speaker 1: He should have shown up in full taxi driver look, mohawk,
- 5:28Speaker 1: army jacket, sunglasses, That's what he should have done.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not sure that jacket fits him anymore.
- 5:35Speaker 1: No, I'm sure it doesn't. Ah, God dang it.
- 5:39Speaker 2: What an odd and surreal scene that is, yeh in
- 5:43Speaker 2: a weird way, and it kind of fits in with
- 5:45Speaker 2: where we are just.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Looking to celebrities for our politicians and our commentators.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And then on the other side, people shrieking obscenities at
- 5:56Speaker 2: him on the street in Alias. What's going on on there?
- 6:00Speaker 3: What? Also, just for a visual, he walked up to
- 6:04Speaker 3: this whatever you want to call it, wearing a mask,
- 6:08Speaker 3: a COVID mask outside.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Okay, well he is ancient, but I ain't a lot
- 6:12Speaker 1: of COVID around. It's freaking out side, he's outside, decent, Yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and then that decent point Joe makes about who are
- 6:19Speaker 1: you weird? Yelling f you at Robert de Niro. I mean,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're not exactly covering yourself in.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Glory or like changing anybody's mind, or moving the ball
- 6:31Speaker 2: down the field, or you just feel like you need
- 6:35Speaker 2: to scream obscenities at him because he's essentially screaming obscenities
- 6:39Speaker 2: at what you like.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Of course, I can picture some host on MSNBC, maybe
- 6:43Speaker 1: Joy Read or something like that, playing a clip of
- 6:45Speaker 1: de Niro today and saying, it's times like these when
- 6:48Speaker 1: we need to hear from the artists. You know that
- 6:51Speaker 1: sort of thing.
- 6:53Speaker 3: That just gave me like a physical reaction.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I know I almost yacked when I said it. I
- 6:58Speaker 1: don't know.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I know that those people scream obscenities weren't doing anything,
- 7:01Speaker 3: but I appreciated them being there.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I guess if nothing else, you interrupt him getting to
- 7:08Speaker 1: spew his whatever he's saying.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I've kind of admit there would be
- 7:15Speaker 2: a bit of a perverse bit of amusement in getting
- 7:20Speaker 2: into a shouting match with Robert de Niro. This video
- 7:22Speaker 2: is going viral, Old Coat, Yeah, video is viral. You
- 7:26Speaker 2: show your friends hear that.
- 7:27Speaker 1: That was me.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I heard them chanting let's go Brandon in the background there.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Look, I watched it. I watched the Irishman. You couldn't
- 7:36Speaker 1: lift your leg up high enough to kick that guy.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It was pretty obvious you were like an eighty year old.
- 7:40Speaker 1: All right, horrible movie.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder what ray Liota would have thought of
- 7:46Speaker 2: the Trump trial.
- 7:48Speaker 1: God rest his soulf right exactly. That's what I would
- 7:52Speaker 1: say if I was on the corner. Hey, this is
- 7:53Speaker 1: really great, Robert de Narrow, any chance we can get
- 7:55Speaker 1: Joe Peshi in here and h ray Liota's passed and
- 8:00Speaker 1: the other people and find out what they think of
- 8:01Speaker 1: the trial, because it's all so important that we hear
- 8:04Speaker 1: what you actors think of this.
- 8:07Speaker 3: What.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Well, I guess that's it.
