- 0:05Speaker 1: an earlier is show with one Root Love where you
- 0:08Speaker 1: Live News Talk.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Sa'd be good morning in six half to five. Great
- 0:11Speaker 2: to have your company. We'll keep you across the cricket
- 0:13Speaker 2: this morning with Smashing South Africa. Sam Ackerman on Dave Rennie.
- 0:16Speaker 2: We'll talk to Todd McLay on trade, the good and
- 0:19Speaker 2: the bad this morning, plus talk about the number of
- 0:22Speaker 2: kids that are going into motel rooms, not from homes
- 0:25Speaker 2: but actually from kier. What's up with that? All ahead.
- 0:30Speaker 3: The agenda.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It's Thursday, the fifth of March. So Higg Saith's a
- 0:35Speaker 2: big tough war guy. He is talking tough again about
- 0:38Speaker 2: this US submarine that sank an Iranian warship and the
- 0:41Speaker 2: Indian Ocean that.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Was sunk by a torpedo, quiet death. The first sinking
- 0:46Speaker 4: of an enemy ship by a torpedo since World War Two.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Like in that war, back when we were still in
- 0:52Speaker 4: the war department. We are fighting to win.
- 0:55Speaker 2: All right. Trump's still picking on start.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I'm happy with the UK either that island that you
- 1:00Speaker 5: read about the lease again, you made it for whatever
- 1:03Speaker 5: it is, and he made a lease of the island.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Somebody came and took it away from him, and it's
- 1:08Speaker 5: taken three or four days for us to work out
- 1:11Speaker 5: where we can land. There would have been much more
- 1:13Speaker 5: convenient landing there as opposed to flying many extra hours.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So we are very surprised.
- 1:18Speaker 5: This is not Winston Churchill that we're dealing with.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Diego Gusti is where he's talking about. By the way,
- 1:25Speaker 2: this is the guy that's not Winston Churchill.
- 1:27Speaker 6: What I was not prepared to do on Saturday was
- 1:29Speaker 6: for the UK to join a war unless I.
- 1:32Speaker 7: Was satisfied there was a lawful basis and a viable
- 1:36Speaker 7: thought through plan.
- 1:38Speaker 8: That remains my position now.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The guy who Trump hates more than Star at the
- 1:42Speaker 2: moment is socialist Spanish Prime Minister Pitdra Sanchez, friend of
- 1:45Speaker 2: justinder A Dunes, and he's heading back at Trump because
- 1:49Speaker 2: Trump is said, basically, we're going to cut all trade
- 1:52Speaker 2: with Spain because they didn't let us use their bases.
- 1:55Speaker 8: The Spanish government's position can be summed up in four words.
- 1:59Speaker 8: To the war the world, Europe and Spain have been
- 2:02Speaker 8: here before. Twenty three years ago, another US administration led
- 2:07Speaker 8: us to another war in the Middle East, a war
- 2:10Speaker 8: that in theory was said to eliminate the weapons of
- 2:12Speaker 8: mass destruction of Saddam Hussein An, take democracy and safeguard
- 2:17Speaker 8: global safety, but in perspective it had the opposite effect.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Finally, this morning, the Beckhams have wished their son Brooklam
- 2:24Speaker 2: happy birthday on Instagram, two months after this whole riff
- 2:28Speaker 2: came through on Instagram and a post David Beckhams says,
- 2:31Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Bust.
- 2:32Speaker 3: We love you.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Get ahead of the headlines on early edition with Ryan
- 2:38Speaker 1: Bridge and one roof Love, where you Live.
- 2:41Speaker 2: News Talks v News Talks itb eight minutes alfter five
- 2:44Speaker 2: nine two ninety two is the number to text. Interestingly
- 2:47Speaker 2: about the Diego Garcia on the other bases that the
- 2:50Speaker 2: Americans have requested to use for defensive purposes. And you know,
- 2:55Speaker 2: Starmer's okay with that. We wouldn't let them go launch
- 2:58Speaker 2: bombs from there and be on the offensive and joined them,
- 3:02Speaker 2: but happy to do it for defense. They haven't used
- 3:05Speaker 2: any of them yet anyway, So it's been days now
- 3:08Speaker 2: since they said, yep, cool, come in, you can use
- 3:10Speaker 2: it for your defensive purposes. They still haven't even got there.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Apparently they are still days to arrive. So I mean
- 3:18Speaker 2: that's an indication of how long the wall will go on. Actually,
- 3:20Speaker 2: Pete Hegseth has said overnight, you won't like this. Eight weeks.
- 3:26Speaker 2: He's given a new time frame. First he was saying
- 3:28Speaker 2: a couple of weeks, then he was saying four. Now same,
- 3:30Speaker 2: potentially up to eight weeks. This thing will drag out
- 3:33Speaker 2: for So that's something we can all market our diaries
- 3:36Speaker 2: and look forward to, isn't it. Hey, The drones that
- 3:39Speaker 2: the Iranians are using. I've talked to a lot of
- 3:41Speaker 2: people about this over the last couple of days because
- 3:43Speaker 2: they apparently cost about twenty five grand to produce these
- 3:46Speaker 2: sha head dones drones, I should say, and which is
- 3:49Speaker 2: quite cheap, isn't it, And so they've got tons of them.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You don't need lots of missiles, do you. You just
- 3:54Speaker 2: need lots of drones, and they're very cheap to make. Now,
- 3:57Speaker 2: Israel's got the iron dome defense system. Apparently every time
- 4:00Speaker 2: they do that, it's a million dollars to defend to
- 4:03Speaker 2: stop a drone coming in. So a drone costs you
- 4:05Speaker 2: twenty five thousand dollars to stop it with an iron
- 4:09Speaker 2: dome costs you a million. Spoke yesterday to sam Viai.
- 4:13Speaker 2: He's the key we guy that runs and founded iOS Aerospace.
- 4:20Speaker 2: They're out of total on and I asked him about
- 4:22Speaker 2: these drones. He said, they're going to make interceptors.
- 4:24Speaker 9: But a number of groups around the world are working
- 4:26Speaker 9: on low cost interceptors. So something that can cost you know,
- 4:29Speaker 9: two and a half three thousand dollars per system to
- 4:33Speaker 9: ultimately take out a hostile drone that costs twenty five
- 4:36Speaker 9: thousand dollars. So any system that you need to take
- 4:39Speaker 9: out another system should realistically be cheaper. Otherwise it's a
- 4:44Speaker 9: war of attrition and ultimately whoever has more budget or
- 4:47Speaker 9: has more systems can ultimately win that whin that hostility.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So basically it's going to be one thousand million drones
- 4:54Speaker 2: in the air and then one thousand or a million
- 4:56Speaker 2: little interceptors that cost three or four grand coming to
- 4:59Speaker 2: take them out. Ryan Bridge, eleven minutes after five. By
- 5:02Speaker 2: the way, our government's put a statement out overnight doesn't
- 5:05Speaker 2: tell you much. They're still trying. If you're there in
- 5:07Speaker 2: the region, and there are apparently three thousand or more,
- 5:10Speaker 2: at least three thousand registered with m FAT, help might
- 5:14Speaker 2: be on the way. They're talking to airlines. They're doing
- 5:16Speaker 2: a bunch of other stuff, but nothing concrete yet. As
- 5:18Speaker 2: you can imagine, hard to get through an airport at
- 5:21Speaker 2: the moment. Eleven after five. Next we're talking about kids
- 5:24Speaker 2: in state care with many pecat Okah w take Newstalks
- 5:27Speaker 2: EDBA on.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Your radio and online on Iheard Radio Early Edition with
- 5:33Speaker 1: Ryan Bridge and one roof Love where you Live News.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Talks EDB thirteen after five. Great to have your company
- 5:40Speaker 2: this morning. Judy says, good morning Ryan about the UK
- 5:44Speaker 2: not yielding to Trump's wishes, Correct me if I'm wrong,
- 5:46Speaker 2: But wasn't the USA the last to get involved in
- 5:48Speaker 2: World War Two? Also? Trump is no Theodore Roosevelt. Well,
- 5:51Speaker 2: those are true things. It was Pearl Harbor that dragged
- 5:55Speaker 2: them in eventually, wasn't it. John says, from sinking drug
- 5:58Speaker 2: boats to the in the Caribbean to Higgs Seth and
- 6:01Speaker 2: Iran seems to take a lot of delight, a perverse
- 6:05Speaker 2: delight out of being involved in killing people, doesn't he.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:09Speaker 2: I think I think he's just up there. He's he's
- 6:12Speaker 2: won for the troops, isn't he. He's a rally man,
- 6:15Speaker 2: so he's out there trying to boost morale and be
- 6:18Speaker 2: the tough guy, and that's kind of his stick. I
- 6:20Speaker 2: don't know that he I mean yeah, I mean he
- 6:23Speaker 2: doesn't hate it, does he. You wouldn't have to, you'd
- 6:25Speaker 2: have to say that.
- 6:26Speaker 3: It's so.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Fourteen minutes after five, Ryan numbers that of ordering a
- 6:30Speaker 2: tamadiki getting bleak him. The Independent Children's Monitor sees abuse
- 6:33Speaker 2: in state here is rising. Five hundred and thirty children
- 6:36Speaker 2: are harmed in twenty four to twenty five. That's up
- 6:39Speaker 2: from five hundred and seven the year before. That's ten
- 6:41Speaker 2: percent of the kids totally in care. Medi Peck at
- 6:45Speaker 2: Okawa Tate is fun at Order Commission Agency chair with
- 6:48Speaker 2: us this morning. Medipecker, good morning.
- 6:50Speaker 10: Good morning Ryan.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Now this picture hasn't moved in the six years of
- 6:54Speaker 2: this report. Now it was bad under labor, bad under national.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Is anyone around the world doing this better?
- 7:03Speaker 10: Well, certainly I'd like to think so, because I can't
- 7:05Speaker 10: understand why the dial hasn't moved for our children in
- 7:09Speaker 10: care in New Zealand. And unfortunately, as the report just says,
- 7:12Speaker 10: things have not improved. All the attention that seems to
- 7:16Speaker 10: come on to removing the children from their families, and
- 7:19Speaker 10: yet when they do come into care. First of all,
- 7:22Speaker 10: they get abused in care and the minimum standards of
- 7:25Speaker 10: care are not adhered to. So rather than kicking the
- 7:28Speaker 10: can down the road, I think it's kicking the child
- 7:30Speaker 10: down the road. Things are just not changing.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well I suppose nine. I mean, let's look, the
- 7:35Speaker 2: ten percent are being abused or neglected in state care,
- 7:38Speaker 2: which is terrible, but that means ninety percent aren't. Does
- 7:42Speaker 2: that mean that they are better off you know what
- 7:44Speaker 2: I mean, better off than being in the home.
- 7:47Speaker 10: No, it's not really, because what the report clearly says
- 7:50Speaker 10: is that for a lot of the children in care,
- 7:53Speaker 10: the educational requirements are not being met, certainly they their
- 7:57Speaker 10: health needs are not being met. And so we've got
- 8:00Speaker 10: we've got a number of agencies that know that they
- 8:03Speaker 10: are paid to do a particular job for children who
- 8:06Speaker 10: are already in a vulnerable situation, who need their care
- 8:09Speaker 10: and attention and are not being prioritized. So it does
- 8:12Speaker 10: not look good for those that should be making making
- 8:15Speaker 10: every effort to change and turn around the lives of
- 8:18Speaker 10: children who are already in a vulnerable position.
- 8:21Speaker 2: No, their lives have been terrible already because this will
- 8:24Speaker 2: they got there in the first place. Because they were,
- 8:26Speaker 2: as the report says, you know, sexually abused by a
- 8:29Speaker 2: family member, or they had a parent on meth who
- 8:31Speaker 2: just didn't care about them as terrible.
- 8:34Speaker 10: Well, it is, but sometimes I think we should be
- 8:36Speaker 10: actually looking at what are we doing to change those
- 8:39Speaker 10: those issues as well those factors, I mean, because those
- 8:43Speaker 10: factors haven't changed either. So all we're doing, we're reacting
- 8:46Speaker 10: when something happens, putting the child in a situation where
- 8:50Speaker 10: we know from the continuation of the reports that we
- 8:53Speaker 10: receive that we see that nothing will change for them
- 8:56Speaker 10: in state care anyway. So you know, if you don't
- 9:00Speaker 10: if you don't start to address those those factors in
- 9:03Speaker 10: the home that are causing children to be at risk,
- 9:06Speaker 10: that's one thing. And if you don't address and make
- 9:09Speaker 10: sure that the minimum standards of care that they should
- 9:12Speaker 10: be receiving when they go into care are happening and
- 9:15Speaker 10: being prioritized, then it's just going to be one reporter
- 9:18Speaker 10: after another, a lot of dollars going in with no
- 9:21Speaker 10: positive outcomes for the children. And this is happening year
- 9:24Speaker 10: after year.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah, six years on the Trump Medipecker. Appreciate your time
- 9:28Speaker 2: this morning.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Medipick at Oka will take. It is seventeen minutes off
- 9:31Speaker 2: to five, and I've got some good news on the cricket.
- 9:35Speaker 2: New Zealand has one hundred and thirty seven runs eleven overs.
- 9:37Speaker 2: New Zealand needs thirty three runs and fifty four balls
- 9:40Speaker 2: to win. So it's looking good. Back with to McClay.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Next, Views and views you trust to start your day.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It's early edicip with Bryan Bridge and one Room Love
- 9:51Speaker 1: where you live.
- 9:52Speaker 2: News talks.
- 9:53Speaker 3: That'd be the talks.
- 9:53Speaker 2: He'd be just gone twenty minutes after five. By the way,
- 9:56Speaker 2: David Seymour will like this. Jardon Analysts have put their
- 9:59Speaker 2: re commendation on their New Zealand stock to sell because
- 10:03Speaker 2: basically you know the story of the national carrier making
- 10:06Speaker 2: and pre tax loss for the current financial year. Basically
- 10:10Speaker 2: they have more cost coming their way than they do
- 10:14Speaker 2: potential revenue. It is twenty after five, Bryan Bridge, so
- 10:18Speaker 2: more of the good numbers. On exports for December quarter
- 10:22Speaker 2: twenty nine billion dollars. That was up two point two
- 10:24Speaker 2: billion on last year. Dairy up ten, tourism up nine
- 10:27Speaker 2: point five, meet up twenty one point four, the war
- 10:31Speaker 2: and shipping disruption ahead wind of course, Todd McClay Trade
- 10:33Speaker 2: minister with us this morning. Minister, good morning, right and hey,
- 10:36Speaker 2: good morning. Any update on the Middle East situation from you,
- 10:40Speaker 2: by the way, on our goods getting to market.
- 10:43Speaker 11: Yeah, we'll look this. The information I received yesterday, a
- 10:46Speaker 11: lot of this are sort of working at face way
- 10:48Speaker 11: through the system still is that shipping lines are putting
- 10:52Speaker 11: in place their contingencies where they are moving goods that
- 10:56Speaker 11: are distance to other nations, you know, not through that
- 10:59Speaker 11: part of the world, So that means some delays for exporters,
- 11:02Speaker 11: but the goods will still get to market. The Midise
- 11:04Speaker 11: itself remains closed. In fact, yesterday we're out on the
- 11:09Speaker 11: ground and Auford else we're talking directly and to exporters
- 11:13Speaker 11: and they are, you know, at this stage is not concerned.
- 11:16Speaker 11: A number of them have insurance in place should there
- 11:18Speaker 11: be an extended period of time that they can't get
- 11:21Speaker 11: good into those markets. But at some stage not too
- 11:24Speaker 11: different futures. Some of the ports we think we'll be
- 11:26Speaker 11: starting to open up, however in the first week and
- 11:28Speaker 11: have seene overnight and it's sill a very precarious situation.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I spoke nice and Nathan Guy yesterday. He mentioned that
- 11:34Speaker 2: MB might need to get involved with changing a few
- 11:37Speaker 2: rigs around a country of destination rules have you?
- 11:41Speaker 11: Are you across that all, So all of that stuff
- 11:44Speaker 11: can happen quite quickly when needed, no problem at all.
- 11:48Speaker 11: So I mean the advice that will give in you
- 11:50Speaker 11: any exports where they have particularly concerns for what they
- 11:53Speaker 11: are doing, just to reach out. But actually is a
- 11:55Speaker 11: very close relationship between you know MB in fact particularly
- 11:59Speaker 11: and our exporters given that export such an importer part
- 12:02Speaker 11: of our economy. So whatever we need to do or
- 12:03Speaker 11: do as quickly as we can.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Very good.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Did you see Trump's offer to help to let the
- 12:08Speaker 2: US Navy guide the ships through the Strait?
- 12:12Speaker 11: I haven't seen that, so no, that's not across my
- 12:14Speaker 11: desk here right.
- 12:15Speaker 2: The export numbers in general, the story continues to be well,
- 12:19Speaker 2: a great one for New Zealand.
- 12:21Speaker 11: Yeah, it's very very positive and we've been seeing an
- 12:24Speaker 11: upsourde for a period of time. It's two things. It
- 12:26Speaker 11: is extra demand, a lot more demand for the high
- 12:29Speaker 11: quality products, particularly you know, food and fiber that we produce.
- 12:34Speaker 11: There's also you know, we are more competitive markets with
- 12:36Speaker 11: the New Zealand dollar having been a little bit lower
- 12:38Speaker 11: for a period of time. But Ryan, I think a
- 12:41Speaker 11: couple of standouts you mentioned earlier. You know, Dare is up,
- 12:43Speaker 11: but meet twenty one percent increase is quite phenomenal the
- 12:49Speaker 11: areas of the world that we're seeing, you know, increase
- 12:53Speaker 11: or growth in our exports countries we have free trade agreements.
- 12:56Speaker 11: So the EU was up more than twenty two percent
- 12:59Speaker 11: in that quarter, the UK thirteen percent, Australia of course
- 13:02Speaker 11: it's very very strong as in China, and interestingly, the
- 13:05Speaker 11: US up almost eight percent even with those tariffs in place.
- 13:09Speaker 11: It seems US consumers want you know, New Zealand food
- 13:13Speaker 11: and they're willing to pay a bit.
- 13:14Speaker 3: More for it.
- 13:15Speaker 2: As a trade minister, are you wanting Trump to just
- 13:18Speaker 2: like stop with the terraffs and stop with the walls please?
- 13:21Speaker 11: Well, I think I like the wall. I think I'd
- 13:24Speaker 11: like all wars to start. But that's a much longer conversation.
- 13:28Speaker 11: So what we need is, you know, the uncertainty to
- 13:32Speaker 11: go away. New Zealand thinks tariffs are harmful. We have
- 13:36Speaker 11: very very low terrif rates here. I mean, if you
- 13:39Speaker 11: think about India, that's a very high teriff area. A
- 13:42Speaker 11: wine face one hundred and fifty percent sheep made thirty percent.
- 13:47Speaker 11: By comparison Indian goods into New Zealand, they're around about
- 13:50Speaker 11: two percent, so very very low. We still get to
- 13:52Speaker 11: trade when there are you know, high teriff rates, albeit
- 13:56Speaker 11: it is harder, but it's the certainty that allows of
- 14:00Speaker 11: a trade agreement that allows our exporters to decide to
- 14:03Speaker 11: put effort into a market. So when there are changes
- 14:06Speaker 11: in tariff rates or conditions or rules, it makes it
- 14:09Speaker 11: very very hard and uncertain. Our exporters may not want
- 14:11Speaker 11: to be in there, or it's harder to make those
- 14:13Speaker 11: long term business relationships. So yes, we'd like the tariff
- 14:16Speaker 11: rates to go away. We don't think they're warranted against
- 14:19Speaker 11: New Zealand from the US. But what we need even
- 14:22Speaker 11: more is some certainty so that you know businesses on
- 14:25Speaker 11: both sides in the US and you like to start
- 14:27Speaker 11: planning again.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Hey, we spoke yesterday about the Golf States. I know
- 14:30Speaker 2: you've got friends counterparts there. Have you spoken to any
- 14:32Speaker 2: of them? Do you know whether they what are they
- 14:35Speaker 2: telling you?
- 14:37Speaker 11: So I've been messaging as opposed to phoning out the
- 14:39Speaker 11: last day or so, you know, just to express our support,
- 14:42Speaker 11: to check in and see how they are both from
- 14:44Speaker 11: the point of view, you know, professionally, but also in
- 14:47Speaker 11: a couple of those countries have grown quite strong friendships
- 14:49Speaker 11: for some of their trade ministers as we've worked away
- 14:52Speaker 11: at the trade deals over the last year or two. Look,
- 14:55Speaker 11: they are very, very concerned, but they have very solid
- 14:58Speaker 11: plans in place. The most interesting thing is, at least
- 15:02Speaker 11: you're seeing through the media, is that their defense systems
- 15:05Speaker 11: that they have in all of those countries are unbelievably
- 15:08Speaker 11: robust and they are protecting them. But as I've said
- 15:11Speaker 11: on your your other show earlier in the week, you know,
- 15:15Speaker 11: we strongly condemned the actors and Iran and attacking their
- 15:18Speaker 11: friends and neighbors and civilians in those areas and should stop.
- 15:23Speaker 2: They went harder on in the first twenty four hours
- 15:26Speaker 2: the Gulf States, the US, Saudi's at least than they
- 15:30Speaker 2: did on Israel, which is fascinating. Twenty five after five.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Appreciate your time this morning, Tom McLay, Trade Minister, News
- 15:36Speaker 2: Talks MB the early.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Edition full show podcast on iHeartRadio, How It By News TALKSB, News.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Talks VB twenty seven minutes after five. You know they
- 15:47Speaker 2: say cranes in the sky is quite a good sign
- 15:50Speaker 2: of growth in the city. Well, not in Auckland, not
- 15:52Speaker 2: at Seascape meant to be the cities. In fact, the
- 15:55Speaker 2: country's tallest tower one hundred and seven eight one hundred
- 15:58Speaker 2: and eighty seven, almost hundred and ninety meters high. It
- 16:02Speaker 2: is supposed to be beautiful, expansive views over the water,
- 16:05Speaker 2: fifty two stories, a statement building for a city on
- 16:09Speaker 2: the move. That's what we were told. But for two
- 16:11Speaker 2: years we've had this construction stopped, half finished, beams and
- 16:15Speaker 2: nuts and bolts exposed, and yesterday the Chinese outfit developing
- 16:19Speaker 2: it folds completely. Gonskis So what happens to this half
- 16:23Speaker 2: cooked tower down by the wharf. It's kind of hard
- 16:25Speaker 2: to miss. You'll see it. Imagine the skytower, but with
- 16:28Speaker 2: scaffolding all around it.
- 16:29Speaker 3: For a year.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Whatever happens needs to happen fast. Auckland is getting its
- 16:33Speaker 2: mojo back. We've been talking about this for a while,
- 16:36Speaker 2: the politicians are talking about it, but it is happening.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I've been down there and seen it. You've got icc
- 16:42Speaker 2: you've got your CRL stations, the shops, Ponsonbye Viaduct waterfront
- 16:47Speaker 2: absolutely humming and heaving at the moment. There's a real
- 16:50Speaker 2: buzz in the year out there, and it is happening.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It is real. Someone out there will be surely eyeing
- 16:56Speaker 2: a bargain here. Surely they will answer our prayers. Get
- 16:59Speaker 2: up there, finished the job, polished that turn and help
- 17:02Speaker 2: make the city smile and shine. Now, speaking of making
- 17:07Speaker 2: you smile and shine, we just won the cricket and.
- 17:09Speaker 12: Bang, god's the fastest T twenty hundred and the World
- 17:14Speaker 12: Cup heaver for the men Fan Allen.
- 17:19Speaker 13: And a hundredge.
- 17:20Speaker 2: You bet you. He's in a hurry for sure. And
- 17:24Speaker 2: how's the black Cats get into the final? They went
- 17:27Speaker 2: by nine wickets, So sorry South Africa, but yes we
- 17:30Speaker 2: are heading to the final for the T twenty which
- 17:33Speaker 2: is fantastic news. Good morning Thursday. We're live to the
- 17:37Speaker 2: States next News Talk said B.
- 17:45Speaker 1: The news you need this morning and the in depth
- 17:47Speaker 1: analysis early edition with Ryan Bridge and one Route Love
- 17:52Speaker 1: where you live News Talk sed B.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Twenty four away from six on your Thursday morning. So
- 18:08Speaker 2: we won the cricket, which is fantastic news. If you're
- 18:11Speaker 2: just joining us, we'll be into the final. Could last
- 18:14Speaker 2: eight weeks. This is the war in Iran. Will headlve
- 18:16Speaker 2: to the US shortly, plus Dave Rennie's picks for assistance.
- 18:19Speaker 2: We'll look at that before six o'clock this morning. Fascinating
- 18:22Speaker 2: story out of the UK Chinese spies. Suspected Chinese spies
- 18:26Speaker 2: have been arrested, three of them in London and Wales.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Of all players, what are you spying on? And well,
- 18:31Speaker 2: I don't actually know what's going on in Wales. There's
- 18:33Speaker 2: probably some base or something there that they'd be looking at.
- 18:36Speaker 2: But what I can tell you about the spies their
- 18:38Speaker 2: ages thirty nine, forty three and sixty eight so far
- 18:41Speaker 2: not interesting. Arrested in London, Wales part of a counter
- 18:45Speaker 2: terrorism policing investigation under the National Security Act. All sounds
- 18:50Speaker 2: very serious, doesn't it. But here's your kicker. One of
- 18:55Speaker 2: this alleged spies is the partner of a labor mp
- 19:00Speaker 2: red Now Joannie Reid's husband is David Taylor, and Joannie
- 19:05Speaker 2: Reid has come out and said, how I didn't I
- 19:07Speaker 2: have no part of his business dealings or his business activities,
- 19:11Speaker 2: so therefore would have no idea what they're talking about.
- 19:14Speaker 2: And he has nothing has been proven against him yet,
- 19:17Speaker 2: So that's one to watch this morning. Ryan bred Shitch
- 19:20Speaker 2: goat and reporters now, Jamie Dunedin, good morning.
- 19:23Speaker 14: Good morning Ryan.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So there's a push to prevent irreversible damage to the
- 19:28Speaker 2: shellfish species around Otago.
- 19:31Speaker 14: Yes, so Terrunga or Moierarchy, wants a two year band
- 19:36Speaker 14: stopping the fishing of all shellfish, particularly cockles, to give
- 19:40Speaker 14: them an opportunity to rebuild. It would cover about one
- 19:43Speaker 14: point three square calimitters from the northern end of the
- 19:46Speaker 14: Moierarchy boulders to headland at Ornica Kata Bay. David Higgins
- 19:51Speaker 14: say's people have been extracting cockle with shovels and spades,
- 19:54Speaker 14: which destroys their environment. He says it's totally inappropriate and
- 19:58Speaker 14: goes against all local nolge of how to extract Kaimwana
- 20:01Speaker 14: from the sea. Higgins says any chance for recovery would
- 20:05Speaker 14: be better than none.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's going to abandon everywhere, don't they. How's your weather?
- 20:10Speaker 14: Possible morning, low cloud or fog, otherwise fine northeasterlies this
- 20:14Speaker 14: afternoon and a high of twenty one.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Thanks Jamie, Clears and crimes to take Claire.
- 20:18Speaker 15: Good morning.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Now, we've spoken about that couple that had the cash
- 20:21Speaker 2: and the roof. What are they getting to keep a
- 20:23Speaker 2: little bit.
- 20:24Speaker 15: Oh well, a little bit, that's it. So this is
- 20:26Speaker 15: the situation that's been going on since May twenty twenty two.
- 20:29Speaker 15: Open just as reports. This cash, it was more than
- 20:32Speaker 15: two hundred and thirty thousand dollars in cash, was found
- 20:35Speaker 15: in five plastic wrappers stored in the roof of a
- 20:38Speaker 15: home that this couple had bought about five months earlier.
- 20:41Speaker 15: The police had been trying to have all of it
- 20:43Speaker 15: forfeited to the Crown as proceeds of crime, but the
- 20:46Speaker 15: couple managed to take the fight right to the High
- 20:48Speaker 15: Court in order to get to keep it. Now, Justice
- 20:52Speaker 15: Robert Osborne has now released his findings and ruled that
- 20:55Speaker 15: this couple can keep forty thousand dollars of the two
- 20:58Speaker 15: hundred and thirty thousand, and the rest of it needs
- 21:00Speaker 15: to be handed over. The couple's identities remain suppressed.
- 21:04Speaker 2: All right, how's your weather?
- 21:06Speaker 15: A bit of loight cloud or fog about this morning?
- 21:08Speaker 15: Then should clear to find northeasterlies and a high of
- 21:11Speaker 15: twenty one.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Nice one. Good morning, maxod morning. Now what's who's getting
- 21:15Speaker 2: petrol vouchers?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 21:17Speaker 12: Story in the post this morning. Yeah, they're being given
- 21:19Speaker 12: to Wellington patients to drive to fungan Nui Hospital. Nearly
- 21:24Speaker 12: three hundred patients in the region have had to drive
- 21:26Speaker 12: all the way too fung A Nui for MRI scans
- 21:29Speaker 12: since July for their troubles one hundred and fifty dollar
- 21:32Speaker 12: voucher for petrol at one company. Locals said she'd been
- 21:35Speaker 12: waiting about six months for an appointment at Wellington Hospital.
- 21:38Speaker 12: No nothing on the horizon, and then she was told
- 21:40Speaker 12: about this other option and took them up one hundred
- 21:42Speaker 12: and fifty dollars petrol voucher. Health says it is actively
- 21:45Speaker 12: working to reduce wait times for imaging. Our hospital here
- 21:49Speaker 12: obviously not in the best state. We have one off,
- 21:52Speaker 12: if not the worst ed in terms of wait times. Obviously,
- 21:55Speaker 12: these weight times for MRI scans are climbing as well.
- 21:59Speaker 12: There are three m IRAE machines in the Capitol Coast
- 22:02Speaker 12: and hut Valley District in total. How's your wear the
- 22:04Speaker 12: max mostly fine with stronger northerlyies nineteen.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Thank you morning, Neva, Good morning. What's happening in Woaku?
- 22:10Speaker 6: Yes, well, look they want green field development Woyaku, not intensification.
- 22:16Speaker 6: So Franklin local board member, that's Gary Holmes and he
- 22:19Speaker 6: wants the area to be left out of intensification. This
- 22:22Speaker 6: is under Plan Change one twenty. He's favoring Plan Change
- 22:25Speaker 6: seventy three and what is that well that allows for
- 22:28Speaker 6: seven hundred homes to be built on green fields. The
- 22:31Speaker 6: council's currently undertaking a legal battle against that plan. But
- 22:34Speaker 6: Homes says, look, there's clear benefits, absolutely clear benefits, and
- 22:39Speaker 6: he's saying that it's got local community support. It's all
- 22:42Speaker 6: about infrastructure, isn't it. Whether it's there for there and
- 22:46Speaker 6: he's saying that the developer will pay for key infrastructure. Previously,
- 22:49Speaker 6: this is all part of Auckland Council saying, no, we're
- 22:51Speaker 6: going to decide where the house he will go.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It's up to us. How's that weather? Okay?
- 22:56Speaker 6: Mainly fine? Passing cloud twenty two is the high here
- 22:58Speaker 6: in Auckland.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Went to buy a pier shoes yesterday, Neva at shoe
- 23:01Speaker 2: clinic and the guy who sued me, lovely guy said
- 23:05Speaker 2: he used to knew you through running. Yes, do you
- 23:08Speaker 2: know who I'm talking about?
- 23:09Speaker 9: I did?
- 23:10Speaker 2: He spoke very highly of you.
- 23:12Speaker 6: Ye, those were the days.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Are you still running now?
- 23:15Speaker 3: Well?
- 23:15Speaker 6: I used to run marathons I've run eight Yes, or
- 23:18Speaker 6: you look like a non believer. But the key thing
- 23:21Speaker 6: about my running was that i'd come last, not first.
- 23:25Speaker 6: But that was journey.
- 23:26Speaker 2: He told a story that you stopped off to get
- 23:28Speaker 2: a mint and cheese pie on one of your runs.
- 23:30Speaker 6: Yes, I did the New York Marathon.
- 23:32Speaker 2: It was fish and chips.
- 23:33Speaker 14: I was still running.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Oh my god, I actually lost the person I went
- 23:37Speaker 6: over as a guide.
- 23:39Speaker 14: Disabled.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yes, Robert Roberts.
- 23:41Speaker 6: He was there at that time, and I came in last.
- 23:44Speaker 6: I think I got through, you know, New York Central Park.
- 23:47Speaker 6: It was nearly midnight. I stopped off. I had a
- 23:51Speaker 6: burger fries fish.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I love it. I love it. I got some shoes
- 23:56Speaker 2: by the way, Well you did. We were just sort
- 23:58Speaker 2: of back and forth about the sign, because have you
- 24:00Speaker 2: got one foot bigger than the album?
- 24:02Speaker 3: Yes?
- 24:02Speaker 6: And I've got very very wide feet.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yes, I've got quite wide feet too. And my left
- 24:06Speaker 2: foot is half a size bigger than my right foot.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Stop it it's very pronounced. I actually walk if I
- 24:12Speaker 2: can't walk in a straight line.
- 24:14Speaker 14: I wondered about that every job.
- 24:16Speaker 6: I just want to say anything.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Getting out of the car to size thirteen, No, no,
- 24:21Speaker 2: like a half away. No, No, I don't get two
- 24:23Speaker 2: different sized Shoot, would you just hey, you're running? You're running? Well, yeah,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm doing a bit of treadmill stuff.
- 24:33Speaker 13: Well done.
- 24:33Speaker 2: You should coach me on how to buy a burger.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Thanks Neither eighteen.
- 24:39Speaker 1: To six International Correspondence with ends an eye insurance, peace
- 24:44Speaker 1: of mind for New Zealand business call it to Sex.
- 24:47Speaker 2: We'll get to Sam Mackiman on Dave Brenny in just
- 24:49Speaker 2: a few seconds, But first, Pete Higseth has been speaking overnight.
- 24:52Speaker 2: This is the War secretary over in the US, and
- 24:55Speaker 2: he's saying a whole bunch of stuff, including we got
- 24:57Speaker 2: the guy that wanted to assassinate Trump.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Also yesterday the leader of the unit who attempted to
- 25:03Speaker 4: assassinate President Trump has been hunted down and killed. Iran
- 25:08Speaker 4: tried to kill President Trump and President Trump got the
- 25:12Speaker 4: last laugh.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Jagruti Dave, a US correspondent with US Live this morning,
- 25:15Speaker 2: for the rest of the details from the priests. Nice
- 25:17Speaker 2: to have you on the show. So what's he saying
- 25:19Speaker 2: about the war? How long it's going to go on,
- 25:21Speaker 2: who the targets are at the moment.
- 25:24Speaker 13: Yeah, there was a lot of information in this very
- 25:27Speaker 13: bombastic presentation given by Pete Hesath. He said that to
- 25:33Speaker 13: be completed in under a week. The US Air Force
- 25:36Speaker 13: is planning on having complete control of Iranian skies, that's
- 25:40Speaker 13: uncontested airspace. This is in conjunction with the Israeli Air Force,
- 25:44Speaker 13: and he said the running leaders looking up will see
- 25:46Speaker 13: US and Israeli airpower every day until we decide it's over.
- 25:51Speaker 13: So no indication of a time frame yet, but this
- 25:53Speaker 13: is the next phase. We are seeing more and larger
- 25:58Speaker 13: waves coming. He said, there's more bombers and fighters arriving today,
- 26:02Speaker 13: and they're moving towards more GPS laser guided precision bombs.
- 26:07Speaker 13: This is they say that they have an unlimited stockpile
- 26:10Speaker 13: of that, so they can sustain the fight as easily
- 26:12Speaker 13: for as long as they need to. This to this point,
- 26:14Speaker 13: this was something in more detail that the Chair of
- 26:16Speaker 13: the Joint Chiefs of Staff also mentioned that they're shifting
- 26:20Speaker 13: from a large deliberate strike package to stand in precision
- 26:24Speaker 13: strikes overhead Irans. So right now the standoff strikes, which
- 26:29Speaker 13: are these sort of big sweeping bombings that are happening,
- 26:32Speaker 13: they've got fewer supplies of these, they're more expensive. These
- 26:35Speaker 13: more what they call stand in munitions, which in which
- 26:37Speaker 13: GPS laser guided. They have more supply of those of
- 26:41Speaker 13: their market, marking a transition in the war. And one
- 26:46Speaker 13: other detail I want to mention is that Pete Heggs
- 26:49Speaker 13: has said that an American submarine sunk in Iranian warship
- 26:53Speaker 13: that was thought that thought it was safe in international
- 26:55Speaker 13: waters by torpedo, and this was the first sinking with
- 26:58Speaker 13: a torpedo since World War II. The suggestions that it
- 27:01Speaker 13: is this ship that was found off the off the
- 27:06Speaker 13: Sri Lankan waters that the SriLankan Navy then went to investigate.
- 27:12Speaker 13: So that is to some of the details that we've
- 27:14Speaker 13: had from this press conference.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Jagree, you just very quickly, because I know that the
- 27:17Speaker 2: Senate is going to vote on Trump's warpowers as Warpowers
- 27:20Speaker 2: resolution today. Were you going to notify Congress? Is it
- 27:23Speaker 2: going to go anywhere?
- 27:25Speaker 13: Well, they've tried this before. This is Democratic Senator Tim Kaine.
- 27:29Speaker 13: He tried to force a vote on war powers related
- 27:31Speaker 13: to Iran before and was voted down. There were similar
- 27:33Speaker 13: votes that took place for Venezuela and they were also
- 27:37Speaker 13: voted down. And this is because Republicans have that slim
- 27:40Speaker 13: majority in both chambers of Congress, and in the end
- 27:45Speaker 13: it just didn't go anywhere. In this instance, it's you
- 27:47Speaker 13: need fifty votes, Democrats have forty seven. One Democrat, Pennsylvania's Fetterman,
- 27:52Speaker 13: has said that he is going to vote against this resolution.
- 27:56Speaker 13: So even though you've got this resolution co sponsored by
- 27:58Speaker 13: a Republican Ran Paul, they probably won't have the numbers
- 28:02Speaker 13: to get it through. But Democrats are saying it's necessary
- 28:04Speaker 13: to have a conversation about the justification for this attack
- 28:08Speaker 13: on Iran. But on the other hand, you've got a
- 28:10Speaker 13: vote in the House later on this later on this week,
- 28:13Speaker 13: where the House Speaker says that again that's likely to
- 28:16Speaker 13: not go through and that the Republicans are making the
- 28:19Speaker 13: point that this is not the time to hamstring the president.
- 28:22Speaker 13: This will underminers authority and the operation that's underway already.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Thank you to Grudy Dave, our US correspondent. And by
- 28:28Speaker 2: the way, name a country and the Iranians are probably
- 28:31Speaker 2: chemic housing droning it at the moment. Turkey is intercepted
- 28:35Speaker 2: one overnight as well, are living away from.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Six Bryan Bridge.
- 28:39Speaker 2: So who's Dave really going to pick is his assistance
- 28:41Speaker 2: to we.
- 28:41Speaker 16: Really you've got a strength of surrounding myself with quality
- 28:44Speaker 16: of people, and people can make a difference. And so
- 28:47Speaker 16: I'm king to bring some people and yeah, it's a
- 28:50Speaker 16: key part of understanding, you know, who we represent and
- 28:54Speaker 16: how we want to be perceived.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Sam Eckerman as well our sports commentator, same good morning,
- 28:58Speaker 2: more as you're on.
- 29:00Speaker 7: And you'll pick well listen. I think there needs to
- 29:03Speaker 7: be something that will resemble a little continuity. I think
- 29:06Speaker 7: Jason Ryan as an assistant coach through a couple of
- 29:08Speaker 7: all back coaches, now who somebody could stay in the
- 29:11Speaker 7: mix outside of that. I really hope they're names that
- 29:14Speaker 7: most people go who. I want the all assistant coaches
- 29:18Speaker 7: to go back to being assistant coaches. Not as important
- 29:21Speaker 7: a part of the orback structure is what the all
- 29:23Speaker 7: back coaches. I want a head coach and other coaches
- 29:25Speaker 7: are come in and do the specialist jobs. I think
- 29:27Speaker 7: he's worked with some wonderful ones through the chiefs in
- 29:30Speaker 7: Matawa two.
- 29:31Speaker 3: He will look to what he knows here.
- 29:32Speaker 7: I don't expect him bring in from overseas at this stage,
- 29:35Speaker 7: but I'd think players people are Andrew Strawbridge who've been
- 29:37Speaker 7: a wonderful assistant to him in the past and what
- 29:40Speaker 7: he achieved in the chiefs. So hopefully they're going for
- 29:42Speaker 7: guys who don't have big profiles, and we're not going
- 29:44Speaker 7: to take every super rugby head coach like.
- 29:46Speaker 3: We did under the previous regime.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah, some anonymous henchman is what we need.
- 29:52Speaker 7: White benchman, what we need is people who don't come
- 29:54Speaker 7: in with a big profile. Head coaches working all together
- 29:57Speaker 7: don't always make the right max.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Assistant coaches their role a.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Little more nor plays. Why do you think he beat
- 30:03Speaker 2: Jamie Joseph? Was it because he had a better plan
- 30:06Speaker 2: or was it because of what people said about them?
- 30:10Speaker 7: I think that his reputation with culture. Jamie Joseph is
- 30:14Speaker 7: known a lot more hard nosed as a coach than
- 30:17Speaker 7: Dave Rennie is. Neither you know, both have got strong reputations.
- 30:21Speaker 7: It is not a cracket either, but Jamie Joseph is
- 30:23Speaker 7: a little faired for some of his training methods more
- 30:26Speaker 7: rather than David Rennie.
- 30:27Speaker 3: So I think that I think.
- 30:29Speaker 7: Dave Rennie's approached to people and the way that he
- 30:32Speaker 7: players love to play for him as the person I
- 30:35Speaker 7: think got him overlying in the end. I also think
- 30:38Speaker 7: failure overseas and learning overseas has been a massive part
- 30:41Speaker 7: for him.
- 30:41Speaker 2: To this no loyalties comment that he made. Did Robertson
- 30:45Speaker 2: or others have them to our detriment? Is that necessarily
- 30:49Speaker 2: a dig at anyone?
- 30:51Speaker 7: I think it's no loyalties to the current squad. Of Course,
- 30:53Speaker 7: he's going to have loyalties, and when he picks players,
- 30:55Speaker 7: he'll want to stick with them. He won't be giving
- 30:57Speaker 7: a guy go one week and then throwing them out
- 30:59Speaker 7: to dropped to pass. So he will have loyalties. But
- 31:02Speaker 7: to me, I read that as he's not loyal to everybody.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Currently in that frame. That said, he doesn't.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Even got his hands on the all WACs personally because
- 31:10Speaker 7: of his rolls over in Japan until essentially the start
- 31:14Speaker 7: of at July windows, So he's going to need to
- 31:16Speaker 7: go with some people who know what they're doing at
- 31:18Speaker 7: the test level, who they are, who the captain is.
- 31:21Speaker 3: That's all to come, all right, and.
- 31:22Speaker 2: We now we just got to win some tests and
- 31:23Speaker 2: then the World Cup. Easy, Andy, Andy, Yeah, really good, Jess.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Sam sam Mackiman, sports commentator with US Live this morning
- 31:30Speaker 2: eight to six News Talk, said be Mike with You.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Next, the first Word on the News of the Day
- 31:36Speaker 1: early edition with Ryan Bridge and one roof love where
- 31:40Speaker 1: you live News Talks.
- 31:42Speaker 3: That'd be six to six.
- 31:43Speaker 2: We were talking to Max earlier in Wellington and he
- 31:45Speaker 2: mentioned that you're getting petrol vouchers. If you're in Wellington
- 31:48Speaker 2: you need to see a specialist. You're getting petrol vouchers
- 31:51Speaker 2: or to get an MRI to go drive to Wanganui
- 31:54Speaker 2: of all places to have that done. Now John is
- 31:56Speaker 2: text and he lives in Wanganui and he says, I've
- 31:59Speaker 2: been waiting for six weeks for an MR. Right, normally
- 32:02Speaker 2: you did it, get it done quite quickly. Now I
- 32:05Speaker 2: know why rain Bridge very fair does it, Mike good Morning.
- 32:09Speaker 17: They need to do what they do in America, which
- 32:11Speaker 17: is have them in the malls and you can have
- 32:13Speaker 17: a full body scans. Quite the thing nowadays. And the
- 32:15Speaker 17: problem with MRI scans is they're.
- 32:17Speaker 2: This expensive to have those full body scans done.
- 32:20Speaker 17: Well thinking, ye, well they are, and they aren't because
- 32:22Speaker 17: the more of them there are, the more competition there are,
- 32:25Speaker 17: the price goes down, of course, and the problem with
- 32:26Speaker 17: New Zealanders the equipment is so short and therefore You've
- 32:29Speaker 17: got the cues you.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Had, So why don't we have loads of private operators
- 32:32Speaker 2: coming in here?
- 32:33Speaker 17: There are There are not loads of private operators, but
- 32:37Speaker 17: there are people. If you want an m R scan
- 32:39Speaker 17: and you're prepared to pay for it, they're readily available.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Do you know what they need? What I need to
- 32:42Speaker 2: scan is my feet. I was just telling neither. I
- 32:45Speaker 2: went buy some new shoes yesterday. You so I'm a
- 32:48Speaker 2: twelve wowss they look too impressive, but I'm a twelve
- 32:54Speaker 2: and a half play Oh, I don't know about the well,
- 32:56Speaker 2: I couldn't reason that.
- 32:57Speaker 17: Will you like a twelve G or a twelve air four?
- 33:00Speaker 17: I don't know what I'm just I'm just it's like
- 33:02Speaker 17: very short, while I'm a forty two G.
- 33:04Speaker 2: My left foot it is half a size completely different,
- 33:08Speaker 2: It's half a size bigger. Yeah, So what do you do?
- 33:11Speaker 2: Do you go a size up? Or do you go
- 33:12Speaker 2: a size down?
- 33:13Speaker 17: You have your own shoes made?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Is the do you do? You do that?
- 33:17Speaker 3: Well?
- 33:17Speaker 2: Not all the time, but come on, what's next?
- 33:20Speaker 7: Well?
- 33:20Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, what's what's what? You don't because
- 33:22Speaker 2: you don't want to buy two? I was thinking, do
- 33:24Speaker 2: I buy one shoe smaller and one shoe bigger. But
- 33:26Speaker 2: you look like it been a problem in terms of yes,
- 33:30Speaker 2: so it is a problem. Well, it's a problem because
- 33:32Speaker 2: I think, especially with the work boots, I go for
- 33:35Speaker 2: the smaller size. And my one is.
- 33:37Speaker 17: You don't want tight shoes. I'd go looser shoes as
- 33:39Speaker 17: posed to tighter shoes. But i'd go two peers. You'd
- 33:42Speaker 17: have to go two peers because they're not going to
- 33:44Speaker 17: sell you one of each, because that's obviously stupid. So
- 33:47Speaker 17: you have to go two peers. So forty one and
- 33:48Speaker 17: forty two of the your case six.
- 33:50Speaker 2: So I wear different sized shoes on different and why
- 33:53Speaker 2: not because you'd look weird.
- 33:56Speaker 17: You look weird already, and you just explain you're not
- 33:59Speaker 17: helping yourself.
- 34:00Speaker 2: People would notice. No, they were not half a size.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I reckon if it was three sides, I'm sure you
- 34:05Speaker 2: should text them.
- 34:06Speaker 17: Okay, Well, don't text me up at a proper show
