- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, this is no Mark Simon show on seventen. Woo Hey,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's Wednesday. It's two days until spring begins, two days away. Hey.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We got a lot to get to. We'll get to this.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We'll get to this Joe can't to quit and what
- 0:21Speaker 1: his future is. We'll get to the oscars. The ratings
- 0:24Speaker 1: are down. We take a look at why. We'll get
- 0:26Speaker 1: to a crazy uh moron Zamdami mo zoron mam dami. Uh.
- 0:33Speaker 1: He's offended a lot of people yesterday with his crazy
- 0:36Speaker 1: rant at the Saint Patrick's Day breakfast. We'll get to
- 0:41Speaker 1: the Guthrie case, some developments there no nothing about finding her,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but some other things. We'll get to the ran of course,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and a whole lot more so. Mark Wayne Mullen is
- 0:53Speaker 1: being confirmed today. The hearings are today. He's been nominated
- 0:58Speaker 1: to replace Tulsey Gabbard. Now they'll bloody him up a
- 1:01Speaker 1: little in these hearings, because that's what you do in
- 1:03Speaker 1: a hearing. They'll ask him how he made how he
- 1:06Speaker 1: became so wealthy while in office. Well that's every one
- 1:09Speaker 1: of them sitting there. They'll pick on some other things,
- 1:12Speaker 1: but he'll get confirmed. He's a senator one reason he
- 1:14Speaker 1: was appointed is the way things are right now that
- 1:18Speaker 1: these Senate committees will not confirm any Trump nominee, So
- 1:22Speaker 1: you got to pick a senator because he's one of them.
- 1:25Speaker 1: They won't turn down one of their own, though, they'll
- 1:27Speaker 1: confirm one of their own. And Mark Wayne Mullen has
- 1:30Speaker 1: been very good at making friends in the House, in
- 1:34Speaker 1: the Senate, He's been known for that, having lunch with
- 1:37Speaker 1: people on both sides of the aisle, going to the
- 1:39Speaker 1: gym with people on both sides of the aisle. So
- 1:41Speaker 1: it'll drag on for a while, but they will confirm
- 1:44Speaker 1: him later today. The Warren I ran some good developments overnight.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We killed azmil Katib. Actually Israel did it. He was
- 1:54Speaker 1: the Iran Minister of Intelligence, but he's believed to be
- 1:58Speaker 1: the actual guy who oversees Rand's entire global terror apparatus,
- 2:04Speaker 1: sleeper cells, hesbola hoodies, all that sort of stuff. Who
- 2:09Speaker 1: killed him last night in a bombing raid. He's gone.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Two people were killed in a missile strike on Ramot
- 2:19Speaker 1: Gan it's near Tel Aviv. That's in Israel retaliation. Now
- 2:24Speaker 1: here's the other thing. We've been escalating. The bombing. You
- 2:29Speaker 1: don't hear as much about it, but it's actually been
- 2:31Speaker 1: much more intense. In fact, yesterday we started dropping five
- 2:35Speaker 1: thousand pound penetrator bombs, bunker buster bombs that go deep underground.
- 2:41Speaker 1: We've been using them to take out mountains, take out
- 2:44Speaker 1: underground missile sites that are way underground, especially along the coast.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Those are the ones that particularly threatened the straits of Hormous,
- 2:52Speaker 1: So we took a bunch of those out last night.
- 2:54Speaker 1: All good developments, a lot of good stuff happened in there.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Allies still refused to come in and help. Off the record,
- 3:00Speaker 1: any general will tell you as far as the Allies
- 3:04Speaker 1: coming in, there's absolutely no military value to them coming up.
- 3:08Speaker 1: There's nothing militarily we could use for any of them.
- 3:12Speaker 1: The only reason to get them to come in is
- 3:14Speaker 1: just for the optics. Just symbolically. It looks good to
- 3:16Speaker 1: have a coalition, so we don't need them militarily for anything.
- 3:21Speaker 1: In fact, they might actually slow things down sometimes when
- 3:23Speaker 1: you put together these coalitions. It happened in Iraq, it
- 3:27Speaker 1: sometimes slows things down. Lack of communication between different countries,
- 3:31Speaker 1: forces getting in the way of each other, so military
- 3:36Speaker 1: wise better without the Allies, it was just a symbolic thing,
- 3:40Speaker 1: so we'll see. The president was asked, is this going
- 3:43Speaker 1: to be another Vietnam? A ridiculous question, of course does.
- 3:47Speaker 1: The Uranian regime is filled sky news. If you put
- 3:49Speaker 1: boots on the grounds in or round, it will be
- 3:51Speaker 1: another Vietnam. Are you afraid of them? No, I'm not
- 3:54Speaker 1: afraid of I'm really not afraid of anything. It's a
- 3:58Speaker 1: day fourteen or it's two weeks. I'd hardly call that
- 4:01Speaker 1: another Vietnam, which was twelve years. Two weeks is not
- 4:05Speaker 1: twelve years. Big difference. And boots on the ground the
- 4:08Speaker 1: only boots on the ground. They do have marine strike
- 4:11Speaker 1: forces that have come in, twenty five hundred of them.
- 4:14Speaker 1: There may be an occasion where they need to go
- 4:16Speaker 1: ashore from an amphibious crap. Just go ashore, quick raid,
- 4:22Speaker 1: literally twenty minutes in and out. That's the only kind
- 4:25Speaker 1: of boots on the ground you'll see. So things are
- 4:29Speaker 1: going well. We did kill two days ago the leader
- 4:34Speaker 1: of the country after the Ayah Toola, and he supposedly
- 4:37Speaker 1: appointed his son to be the new Ayahtola, but that
- 4:40Speaker 1: never actually took place. The real leader has been Ali Larjani.
- 4:46Speaker 1: He was killed earlier this week, and people were stunned
- 4:50Speaker 1: at as arrogance. He was the new leader. We knew
- 4:53Speaker 1: he was the new leader, and he's one of the
- 4:54Speaker 1: most brutal, awful terrorist leaders of the whole Iranian government.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But he took over. He was the leader, and he
- 5:02Speaker 1: had the arrogance to just walk down the street by himself,
- 5:05Speaker 1: out in the open. There. He was walking along the
- 5:07Speaker 1: street when an Israeli bomb hit him right on the
- 5:10Speaker 1: head and blew him into a million pieces. So he's gone.
- 5:15Speaker 1: That's the end of that. It's just getting better and
- 5:18Speaker 1: better over there. Now, you heard about this guy in
- 5:21Speaker 1: the Trump administration who quit. His name is Joe Kent.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Joe Kent was the National counter Terrorism Center Director. Now
- 5:30Speaker 1: this sounds very imposing, this title, but this is what
- 5:33Speaker 1: they do in the swamp. They come up with these titles.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Joe Kent has been a big Trump supporter. He's been
- 5:40Speaker 1: a big supporter of going after Iran, of taking out Iran.
- 5:45Speaker 1: He has said this for years. He has been saying
- 5:49Speaker 1: for years that Iran is a major threat, the biggest
- 5:52Speaker 1: sponsor of terrorism. He's pushed going after Iran for years.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So he suddenly quit saying it was wrong to go
- 5:58Speaker 1: after Iran. Why the contradictory stuff. Who knows. Who knows
- 6:03Speaker 1: what goes through his head. He's got a history of
- 6:07Speaker 1: just being wrong on everything. He's also got a history
- 6:10Speaker 1: of appearing to be very antisemitic anti Israel. I think
- 6:16Speaker 1: that's the thing here in this He always wanted to
- 6:18Speaker 1: go after I Ran and get rid of them. But
- 6:19Speaker 1: in this case it's Israel really leading the charge, Israel
- 6:23Speaker 1: doing eighty percent of the military work, Israel being the
- 6:27Speaker 1: biggest beneficiary of all of this. I think that's what
- 6:29Speaker 1: really offended Joe Kent. He's always blaming Israel for everything.
- 6:33Speaker 1: You remember the Gulf War, not the Iraq War, the
- 6:35Speaker 1: Gulf War. I remember when we had to liberate Kuwait
- 6:39Speaker 1: from Sodom Hussein. That was the George hw Bush War.
- 6:43Speaker 1: In the Gulf War, this same Joe Kent kept yelling
- 6:46Speaker 1: and screaming we were only doing this because of Israel.
- 6:49Speaker 1: This was Israel that made us do it. Well, if
- 6:52Speaker 1: you just check the record book, back in the Gulf War,
- 6:54Speaker 1: Israel totally opposed the Gulf War. Israel begged us not
- 6:58Speaker 1: to do it. Israel at the time thought it was
- 7:00Speaker 1: more important to go after Iran. Israel thought we were
- 7:02Speaker 1: fighting the wrong fight. So Joe Kent has a history
- 7:05Speaker 1: of contradictory stuff, history of anti Semitic kind of nonsense.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He's a great military veteran eleven combat tours, and people
- 7:17Speaker 1: that know him and know his history say it was very,
- 7:20Speaker 1: very sad to watch him end his career in this
- 7:23Speaker 1: anti Semitic rant that he put out yesterday, leaving even
- 7:27Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell, who's no fan of Donald Trump, issued a
- 7:31Speaker 1: scathing statement saying about Kent virulent anti semitism. Mitch McConnell
- 7:39Speaker 1: pointing out Joe kent't testified before the Senate one year
- 7:43Speaker 1: ago that Iran and its terror proxy's threatened US service members.
- 7:47Speaker 1: It was the biggest threat he testified about the threat.
- 7:51Speaker 1: McConnell goes on to say the virulent anti semitism of
- 7:54Speaker 1: his resignation letter makes it clear he's just incapable of
- 7:59Speaker 1: upholding these plays. Just it's his charges are baseless, incendiary,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and McConnell went on to remember this is a real
- 8:06Speaker 1: swamp guy, McConnell. Isolationists and anti Semites have no place
- 8:10Speaker 1: in either party and do not deserve places of trust
- 8:14Speaker 1: in our government. So he's going. He's a very good
- 8:16Speaker 1: looking guy, although kind of a I don't know, kind
- 8:21Speaker 1: of a mannequin looking guy, but good talker, good looking.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I assume the reason he's doing all this is he
- 8:27Speaker 1: wants a TV job. He wants to be on CNN
- 8:30Speaker 1: or MSNBC, and if you're suddenly attacking Trump like crazy,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you instantly get on there. He'll be on every show
- 8:38Speaker 1: in the world for the next few days. He'll be
- 8:40Speaker 1: on Morning Joe and The View, and Jimmy Kimmel and Colbert.
- 8:44Speaker 1: He'll be on all these shows. And I guess he
- 8:46Speaker 1: hopes to get a TV job out of it. And
- 8:48Speaker 1: you can make you make a lot of money doing that.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It's pretty good. Hey, the oscars, Now, everybody's trying to
- 8:55Speaker 1: figure this out. You know, they got these betting markets,
- 8:57Speaker 1: poly market, those kind of stuff, these prediction marks markets
- 9:00Speaker 1: all amateur's betting, and they bet on everything. They've bet
- 9:03Speaker 1: on politics, they bet on the oscars. Everybody is looking
- 9:07Speaker 1: at this. It seems in the betting markets they got
- 9:10Speaker 1: right every single category, every single win, everything, They predicted
- 9:15Speaker 1: everything correctly. Now, not in the week's leading up, but
- 9:18Speaker 1: at the last couple of days, the betting got absolutely
- 9:22Speaker 1: everything right now that never happened, So they're worried there
- 9:27Speaker 1: might might have been some kind of leak. You know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: those votes are tabulated by an accounting firm and they
- 9:32Speaker 1: usually come in the locked briefcase with the guy's handcuffed
- 9:35Speaker 1: to it. But starting to worry somebody leaked something at
- 9:39Speaker 1: how else could these betting markets be so accurate? Hey,
- 9:43Speaker 1: the Savannah Guthrie case, you don't hear about it anymore.
- 9:48Speaker 1: The Nancy Guthrie case, you just don't hear about it.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Nothing on the news, hardly anything for days and days.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And people have noticed that the top reporters covering this
- 10:00Speaker 1: porter so this was their full time beat covering this,
- 10:02Speaker 1: This is this case. They've all left town. The last
- 10:05Speaker 1: one left yesterday, packed up and left. Not a great
- 10:10Speaker 1: sign for the now. There's still a federal agents there
- 10:15Speaker 1: looking as far as the sheriff's office, they've been bumbling
- 10:17Speaker 1: from the beginning. Who knows what they're doing. In fact,
- 10:20Speaker 1: there's now this sheriff Nanos, who is the bumbling Barney
- 10:24Speaker 1: fiefish awful local sheriff first on the case. There's now
- 10:29Speaker 1: a recall movement underway that's already started petitions are being
- 10:33Speaker 1: signed to recall him and get him out of office.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It would actually be a great idea to do it. Hey,
- 10:39Speaker 1: speaking of the OSCARS, ratings were not good. They haven't
- 10:45Speaker 1: been good in a while. You know, if you go
- 10:47Speaker 1: back twenty five years, the OSCARS got about fifty seven
- 10:51Speaker 1: fifty eight sixty million people watching Sunday Night. It wasn't
- 10:57Speaker 1: fifty seven million, it was eighteen million. It's way down,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and it had been twenty million the year before. The
- 11:02Speaker 1: twenty one million, but it was down nine percent, nine
- 11:07Speaker 1: percent from last year. Now. I don't know what this
- 11:08Speaker 1: does to Conan O'Brien. They were pretty high on him,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but it dropped nine percent this year. It may not
- 11:15Speaker 1: be his fault. The problem is two problems. One, nobody
- 11:19Speaker 1: wants to watch these award shows anymore. Nobody wants to
- 11:22Speaker 1: watch award shows, and the way people watch stuff has changed.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Nobody watches an award show for three hours. They're not
- 11:31Speaker 1: going to sit there for three hours watching one award show.
- 11:33Speaker 1: They'll binge watch eighteen hours of a series, but they're
- 11:37Speaker 1: not going to watch an award show for three hours.
- 11:40Speaker 1: So even though only only eighteen million watching on television,
- 11:45Speaker 1: one hundred and eighty four million went to their phones
- 11:49Speaker 1: or online and watched little bites of it, which is
- 11:52Speaker 1: what I did. I didn't watch the actual show, but
- 11:55Speaker 1: later later, I just went to YouTube, watched the opening monologue,
- 12:00Speaker 1: watched a couple of the awards, watched the little Barbra
- 12:03Speaker 1: Streisant segment. Just that, and that's what most people did.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Only eighteen million watched the show. One hundred and eighty
- 12:10Speaker 1: four million watched the clips, which is up, by the way,
- 12:14Speaker 1: up forty two from last year. So it's just the
- 12:18Speaker 1: way people do stuff now. They're not going to sit there.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Sometimes people do that, even with sports. They don't watch
- 12:24Speaker 1: the whole game. They just look at their phone every
- 12:27Speaker 1: so often and look at the highlights every so often. Well,
- 12:30Speaker 1: Saint Patrick's Day is over. We love the Irish people,
- 12:35Speaker 1: we love the parade, but you got to get better food.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I went to the Saint Patrick's Day parties. All right,
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm not that big a fan of corn beef and
- 12:45Speaker 1: soda bread. It's enough with that. And the music musically,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I mean, we get some guitars, some trumpets, some trombone,
- 12:54Speaker 1: some something, but those bagpipes, I guess it's okay for
- 12:58Speaker 1: a parade. I mean for a parade. It's okay. It's
- 13:00Speaker 1: kind of marching music. But you notice if you watch
- 13:03Speaker 1: college football, then when the halftime, when the band comes out, No,
- 13:06Speaker 1: Bill don't need any bagpipes. You go to Carnegie Hall,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you don't see any bagpipe. All right, it's once a year.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It was a pretty good parade. It was actually not bad. Yesterday. Hey,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you know we will get to the Department of Homeland
- 13:19Speaker 1: Security shutdown. This is the government shutdown. It's all being
- 13:22Speaker 1: shut down by government by Democrats. The Democrats are keeping
- 13:26Speaker 1: it going. The problem is the TSA is part of
- 13:29Speaker 1: Homeland Security, and TSA workers are not getting paid. They've
- 13:34Speaker 1: now missed two paychecks. About three four hundred of them
- 13:37Speaker 1: have left. More are leaving every day. And TSA screeners
- 13:43Speaker 1: they don't well, they make about forty five thousand a year.
- 13:46Speaker 1: They've been working out without pay for a couple of weeks.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Now ten percent are calling in sick every day. Nearly
- 13:54Speaker 1: three hundred and seventy five have quit their jobs over this. Now.
- 13:57Speaker 1: The problem is if this gets any worse, the airports
- 14:01Speaker 1: are now talking about what they call their doomsday scenario.
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know, right now, if you go to the airport
- 14:07Speaker 1: because of the TSA problems and the shortage and the shutdown,
- 14:11Speaker 1: massive delays, you know, usually it's an hour or two,
- 14:14Speaker 1: now three four five hour delays getting through security. But
- 14:18Speaker 1: the doomsday scenario is actually shutting down some airports. They're
- 14:22Speaker 1: actually talking about that now. Some airports could be shut
- 14:26Speaker 1: down entirely, which would be a real nightmare that would
- 14:29Speaker 1: affect everybody everywhere. And we'll get to coming up, we'll
- 14:33Speaker 1: get to a mom Donnie just causing a terrible scene
- 14:37Speaker 1: yesterday at the Saint Patrick's Day breakfast. We'll get to that,
- 14:41Speaker 1: and a whole lot more just ahead, we'll take some calls. Next.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
