Speaker 1: Hey, what's up everybody? Welcome into another edition of to
• 0:12
Speaker 1: check O Daily. It's Andrew de Checo here, Eagles beat
• 0:15
Speaker 1: reporter for insidethebirds dot com, and Saturday afternoon at four o'clock,
• 0:19
Speaker 1: the Eagles announced two transactions, elevating long snapper Charlie Hewlett
• 0:24
Speaker 1: and safety Andre Sam from the practice squad. They will
• 0:28
Speaker 1: both be active and available for the Eagles to use,
• 0:31
Speaker 1: and it's important to note that while Andre Sam exhausted
• 0:34
Speaker 1: his three practice squad elevations during the regular season, those
• 0:39
Speaker 1: reset in the postseason. So those are your transactional notes
• 0:44
Speaker 1: going into this one. And while the game kicks off
• 0:48
Speaker 1: later today, let this podcast serve as the appetizer. Despite
• 0:54
Speaker 1: being curiously overlooked from the twenty twenty five NSC Pro
• 0:57
Speaker 1: Bowl roster and all Pro considerations, punter Braden Man has
• 1:01
Speaker 1: served as a secret weapon of sorts this season, his
• 1:04
Speaker 1: booming leg aiding in the field position game. His punts
• 1:07
Speaker 1: this season covered three five and ninety one yards, with
• 1:11
Speaker 1: his forty nine point nine yards per punt being a
• 1:13
Speaker 1: career high. He tied on a career long seventy yarder
• 1:18
Speaker 1: this season while tying career highs and punts inside the twenty.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: While Man's punting prowess has been on full display. Something
• 1:27
Speaker 1: easy to miss, but just as important is his ability
• 1:30
Speaker 1: as a holder on field goals For kicker Jake Elliott.
• 1:33
Speaker 1: Just think back to late last season when the Eagles
• 1:35
Speaker 1: played the Rams in the divisional round with snow coating
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Lincoln Financial field. Man's knack for navigating the conditions and
• 1:42
Speaker 1: leading the charge and executing the team's emphasis throughout that
• 1:45
Speaker 1: week when it came to clearing the snow for Elliott
• 1:48
Speaker 1: is another example the best in caps late Man's impact
• 1:52
Speaker 1: in that realm. I'm going to re for you a
• 1:54
Speaker 1: snippet of what Special Teams cordator Michael Clay had to
• 1:57
Speaker 1: say Tuesday when talking about Man. I could talk on
• 2:01
Speaker 1: and on about Braiden, but I think he's done an
• 2:03
Speaker 1: unbelievable job flipping the field and I still think he
• 2:06
Speaker 1: has one of the best hands in the NFL when
• 2:08
Speaker 1: it comes to the holding scenario. But again, having to
• 2:11
Speaker 1: deal with a couple of different long snappers due to injury,
• 2:14
Speaker 1: nothing really changed, as you always knew that that operation
• 2:19
Speaker 1: with Braden out there being the holder was going to
• 2:21
Speaker 1: be down. Pat I asked Man Friday about Clay's comment
• 2:26
Speaker 1: of him having one of the best hands in the
• 2:28
Speaker 1: NFL when it comes to the holding aspect.
• 2:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely do a lot in the off season.
• 2:33
Speaker 2: I mean that's like, that's like most of the job
• 2:36
Speaker 2: for me is like holding his all hands coordination and punting.
• 2:39
Speaker 2: A lot of it is just getting the drop down
• 2:41
Speaker 2: and like catch the ball and doing all that. So yeah,
• 2:43
Speaker 2: I got a bunch of like hand eye coordination stuff
• 2:45
Speaker 2: in the offseason. I do, like have a tennis ball
• 2:47
Speaker 2: machine I bought a few years ago do all the
• 2:49
Speaker 2: catches and a lot of stuff I do suing. I
• 2:52
Speaker 2: came to like improve on that a little bit. It's
• 2:54
Speaker 2: like a whole part of my regiment.
• 2:55
Speaker 1: How exactly does man make it a focus this offseason?
• 2:59
Speaker 1: Is there someone who snaps to him or the snaps
• 3:02
Speaker 1: launched via jugs machine?
• 3:04
  Speaker 3: He explained, Yeah.
• 3:05
Speaker 2: I got a judge machine actually off season. Finally, my
• 3:08
Speaker 2: wife's been snapping me drugs forever or she'll like throw
• 3:10
Speaker 2: me foot balls or whatever. So she's been helping me
• 3:13
Speaker 2: ever since I think college. I was training for the
• 3:16
Speaker 2: draft and I was ready getting rid of the combine.
• 3:18
Speaker 2: We had dug machine a m and she went in
• 3:21
Speaker 2: the inter with me and to snap me shrugs for
• 3:22
Speaker 2: a while getting ready of the combine. So wow, she
• 3:24
Speaker 2: helped me for like six years.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Punting in the Northeast is no easy feet, but Man,
• 3:30
Speaker 1: who spent his first three seasons with the Jets, has
• 3:33
Speaker 1: grown accustomed to atoning for treacherous conditions. For example, just
• 3:37
Speaker 1: rewind it back to the game in Buffalo, played in
• 3:39
Speaker 1: the driving rain, Man punted seven times for an average
• 3:43
Speaker 1: of fifty five point four yards per punt. He landed
• 3:46
Speaker 1: two inside the twenty and booted a fifty yarder from
• 3:49
Speaker 1: the back of the end zone when only able to
• 3:52
Speaker 1: take one step. He's played in Buffalo, New England and
• 3:56
Speaker 1: Pittsburgh plenty in the past, But where does the Buffalo
• 3:59
Speaker 1: game rank among his all time most challenging weather games.
• 4:03
Speaker 2: Probably right up there with the other Buffalo games I played. Yes,
• 4:07
Speaker 2: I had won. I think the worst one ever was
• 4:09
Speaker 2: I mean, that was pretty bad just because raining, but
• 4:11
Speaker 2: the wind was actually all right. My worst one had
• 4:13
Speaker 2: to been I think it was twenty twenty one when
• 4:17
Speaker 2: I was with the Jets. We went there on like
• 4:19
Speaker 2: January fifth or whatever similar time period. It was like
• 4:23
Speaker 2: thirty three degrees pouring rain forty mile hour gus. It
• 4:27
Speaker 2: was awful, So that's definitely the worst I been in,
• 4:30
Speaker 2: But like, yeah, the game Resign was pretty closer.
• 4:33
Speaker 3: Hey, it's that time of the year that everyone's trying
• 4:36
Speaker 3: to clean up their habits and that includes me. Honestly,
• 4:39
