- 0:44Speaker 2: If you like to connect, we'll get right into it.
- 0:47Speaker 2: My wonderful guest today some site might say magical, Sorry,
- 0:52Speaker 2: really bad Disney fund tray. Get those out of the
- 0:53Speaker 2: way before we get into more fun conversations. They're gonna
- 0:56Speaker 2: keep coming all the time. It's gonna happen, you know.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I try not to do the puns, but then I
- 1:02Speaker 2: feel like if you say don't you're not gonna do
- 1:03Speaker 2: the puns, you just naturally just do it. Even more so,
- 1:05Speaker 2: it's kind of like, you know, it's like killing. It
- 1:07Speaker 2: does like telling a kid don't be out past ten o'clock,
- 1:09Speaker 2: or do don't do that one thing. It happens. Uh.
- 1:13Speaker 2: My wonderful guests today are actually from a podcast that
- 1:16Speaker 2: actually I was on a few weeks ago. Make sure
- 1:18Speaker 2: you go check them out. Obviously I'll give I'll say
- 1:20Speaker 2: their stuff here in a second. It is the wonderful
- 1:23Speaker 2: Canvas and Scott from the Hanging at the Hanging Bar podcast.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It is a Disney adults podcast. Yes, it is a
- 1:28Speaker 2: Disney Adult podcast day and they are a Disney adult
- 1:31Speaker 2: podcast and they are awesome. How you guys doing fantastic?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Thanks for having us.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm glad to have you guys on here.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Enter the CANTEENA Finally, we've been talking about this for
- 1:42Speaker 2: a while. And again, once again, I'll give my flowers
- 1:45Speaker 2: to both of you. Thank you for having me on
- 1:46Speaker 2: a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, it was fun. I
- 1:49Speaker 2: promise I will try not to talk as much as
- 1:51Speaker 2: I did last time. See you were on our show.
- 1:55Speaker 2: You're supposed to do all the talking when we're doing
- 1:57Speaker 2: the interviews that I I have a very I've been
- 2:01Speaker 2: getting very better at like you know, like makeing sure
- 2:03Speaker 2: like when guests come on, I let them talk. I
- 2:06Speaker 2: have a guess who comes on here. He was actually
- 2:08Speaker 2: on last week. The nickname is og Patron. He was
- 2:10Speaker 2: the original guest on the show. And he has this
- 2:13Speaker 2: little stick where I used not anymore. It was this gimmick,
- 2:16Speaker 2: but it's kind of gone and way where Ice interrupt
- 2:17Speaker 2: him all the time, sometimes because he would take too
- 2:21Speaker 2: want to get to the point. Other times I was
- 2:23Speaker 2: just being a dick.
- 2:24Speaker 4: So you mentioned him on our show, and I tell you,
- 2:30Speaker 4: we're gonna steal that because we like, we have our
- 2:34Speaker 4: og Patron, that's this loyal listener and like he listened
- 2:39Speaker 4: and he wants the nickname, so we're probably gonna give
- 2:42Speaker 4: it to it.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We're just gonna steal it. No, that's that's that's totally fine.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Just understand that if you guys get a huge Spotify
- 2:49Speaker 2: deal in like six years, you may get a season
- 2:51Speaker 2: that sist letter. But it wouldn't be for me. I
- 2:53Speaker 2: mean probably I would be I'd be seed in the season.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Well, to be fair, and I think this would track
- 2:59Speaker 3: with who we're talking about. I think we could very
- 3:02Speaker 3: easily call him O g patron second of his name, right.
- 3:05Speaker 2: That's true, O G patron asterisk second of his name.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I like that, right? Hey, well, what's what's an old catchphrase?
- 3:14Speaker 2: You know? Imitation is the farest form of flattery, whatever
- 3:17Speaker 2: the hell it is. So I'm sure I will appreciate
- 3:20Speaker 2: and he would appreciate it as well. I want to
- 3:22Speaker 2: make sure I get the business and order here. Not
- 3:25Speaker 2: that well, obviously, we'll obviously say you know where you
- 3:27Speaker 2: guys can find everyone can find you, and all that stuff.
- 3:28Speaker 2: But what are you too? Are you guys partaking any
- 3:30Speaker 2: beverages this evening?
- 3:32Speaker 4: I am I just poured myself a nice glass of
- 3:35Speaker 4: bourbon from a special bottle. My wife for Christmas last
- 3:40Speaker 4: year got me a bottle of a designer mix, a
- 3:46Speaker 4: designer blend from a company called Designer Dram. Not sponsored,
- 3:50Speaker 4: but it's if you want, like your own bourbon with
- 3:52Speaker 4: your own label, it's a great place to go. So
- 3:54Speaker 4: I'm I'm sipping on a couple of ounces of that tonight.
- 3:57Speaker 4: It's delicious.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Well, I am honored that that bottle got cracked up
- 4:00Speaker 2: one for this evening. Can't I start even drinking anything?
- 4:03Speaker 3: I have watermelon iced tea, so I'm the boring one
- 4:06Speaker 3: of the evening. I have a feeling, but it's it's
- 4:08Speaker 3: hitting the spot, So.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Actually, you're not. I am. I actually had a I was.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Actually I actually had dinner before I came, and I
- 4:15Speaker 2: actually had a few at a couple of Bruskies. But
- 4:17Speaker 2: now I'm being the boring one. I am drinking just
- 4:19Speaker 2: in the simple uh and I'm gonna read the bottle
- 4:23Speaker 2: very This is what hilarious. I'm from the Midwest, but
- 4:25Speaker 2: they have to be very discreet. It's like one of
- 4:27Speaker 2: those like grocery store brand drinks where it's like it's
- 4:31Speaker 2: our spin on some a big brand thing, but we
- 4:33Speaker 2: have to put our spin on it for some reason.
- 4:34Speaker 2: An Italian sparkly mineral water importer from Italy, even though
- 4:39Speaker 2: this is a company from Chicago, so not sure how
- 4:41Speaker 2: they do that, but.
- 4:46Speaker 3: It's the Italian connections. And we won't go any further
- 4:49Speaker 3: than that.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, the speaking of Chicago. Guy
- 4:56Speaker 2: that's from Chicago, so yeah, so we'll get right into it. See.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I came on you Guys podcast a couple of weeks ago,
- 5:03Speaker 2: and yes it is a Disney adults podcast. I think
- 5:06Speaker 2: the three of us are very confident or not even confident,
- 5:11Speaker 2: very proud of our Disney adultness, while despite some in
- 5:15Speaker 2: today's culture might find it really weird or repulsing. But
- 5:17Speaker 2: it's like, yeah, but fine, you haven't done it yet.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You'll find you know, go ahead to your go to
- 5:21Speaker 2: your country concerts every summer where by the fifth hour
- 5:25Speaker 2: you're complaining being a mud pit. But I say that
- 5:30Speaker 2: because I did. I did a country thing like for
- 5:32Speaker 2: a couple of summers and and I hate it. So
- 5:36Speaker 2: but before we get into like the thing I know
- 5:39Speaker 2: we kind of discussed online also, I kind of want
- 5:41Speaker 2: to do like a little follow up from the podcast
- 5:43Speaker 2: when I came on with you guys, because we kind of,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you know, this is where it's smart. You know, we
- 5:46Speaker 2: collaborate and then you know, kind of do a little
- 5:49Speaker 2: like quote unquote marvel teas and did like, Hey, we're
- 5:51Speaker 2: gonna do a little this little uh you know, little
- 5:53Speaker 2: little crumbs on the floor, like, hey, come on over
- 5:54Speaker 2: here for this. But what was the thing that really
- 5:57Speaker 2: got you guys? I mean, obviously for people that don't
- 5:59Speaker 2: know Disney or Disney World more so, there's this barred
- 6:03Speaker 2: Disney World called, you know, the Hainter bar of the
- 6:05Speaker 2: very potthar. But what was really the thing that inspired
- 6:07Speaker 2: you guys as well as you And it's not just
- 6:09Speaker 2: a too of you do your podcast. You have some
- 6:10Speaker 2: other co hosts as well. But wasn't thing that really
- 6:12Speaker 2: inspired you guys to do just do a Disney adult
- 6:16Speaker 2: specific podcast or just media in general.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah. So we are Disney adults obviously, you know that
- 6:25Speaker 3: don't have kids. And I know that there is a
- 6:30Speaker 3: connotation of quote unquote Disney adults, and there's a weird
- 6:34Speaker 3: kind of Disney adult, you know, the annoying kind and
- 6:36Speaker 3: all of this, and then there's what we consider to
- 6:38Speaker 3: be the appropriate sort of Disney adult who honor the tradition.
- 6:43Speaker 3: And no, I'm being serious, they honor the tradition. It's like,
- 6:47Speaker 3: we're not obnoxious. We can get that way really quickly.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But yeah, general, it's like we sort of quote unquote
- 6:55Speaker 3: represent the company m HM. And back in twenty twenty,
- 6:59Speaker 3: during the pandemic, we started a Marco polo or WhatsApp
- 7:05Speaker 3: chat or something like that where we would go on
- 7:08Speaker 3: every day and ask questions of the day because we
- 7:11Speaker 3: were missing Disney so badly that we were like, if
- 7:14Speaker 3: you were in Disney right now, what would you be
- 7:16Speaker 3: doing or what would you want to eat? Or what
- 7:17Speaker 3: ride would you want to go on? Excuse me, attraction
- 7:20Speaker 3: would you want to go on? I know, shrink.
- 7:26Speaker 2: A knock on your door forget what.
- 7:33Speaker 3: So it just kind of spawned from there and we
- 7:34Speaker 3: would have these really really good conversations and we're like,
- 7:37Speaker 3: you know what, this is a lot of fun just
- 7:38Speaker 3: to sit and talk about this because it kind of
- 7:41Speaker 3: puts you back, not in the middle of the magic
- 7:43Speaker 3: by any stretch of the imagination, but it gets you
- 7:45Speaker 3: that much closer. And so we decided to put together
- 7:49Speaker 3: this podcast where we as for Disney adults with not children,
- 7:54Speaker 3: could just kind of reminisce and talk and share and
- 7:58Speaker 3: just enjoy the wonder that is Disney.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Yeah, so we don't do it for anybody but us,
- 8:04Speaker 4: just because it's our connection. Like you know, you're you're
- 8:07Speaker 4: in the upper Midwest, We're in the like Midwest Midwest.
- 8:10Speaker 4: We're in Nebraska. So like, if I want to drive
- 8:13Speaker 4: to Disney, it's a twenty four hour drive. If I
- 8:15Speaker 4: want to fly from from Lincoln, where we're from, it's
- 8:19Speaker 4: gonna be an eight hundred dollars flight. So it's it's
- 8:22Speaker 4: not like we can get there all the time. Like
- 8:25Speaker 4: this year is gonna be the first year that we've
- 8:26Speaker 4: gone twice in the same year. So just some connection
- 8:30Speaker 4: to Disney so we don't just have to feel like
- 8:32Speaker 4: we have too much fomo. It causes us to research
- 8:35Speaker 4: and dig into all the bullshit that happens in the
- 8:38Speaker 4: Disney universe, and it's just a way for us to connect.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And honestly, the friends that we do this with, Lacey
- 8:45Speaker 4: and Lariah are co hosts. It's it's an excuse to
- 8:48Speaker 4: get together with them. Honestly, we probably wouldn't see them
- 8:50Speaker 4: nearly as frequently because our age difference is a little
- 8:53Speaker 4: bit different. They like you probably you'll probably edit this
- 8:57Speaker 4: out later, but they are youth group kids of our
- 9:00Speaker 4: so like we met them when they were wee little babies,
- 9:04Speaker 4: and like I think we gave Lacey her first drink
- 9:07Speaker 4: of alcohol probably when she was seventeen.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But by the way, the only never gets the only
- 9:14Speaker 2: thing that ever to get out of this podcast is
- 9:15Speaker 2: last names if they're not publicly well known, and costs,
- 9:18Speaker 2: which I need to be better about the costs. So
- 9:22Speaker 2: because if you can't tell, I don't care about four
- 9:23Speaker 2: letter words either oh man, no, that's awesome. I mean,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and it's like it's always fun like whenever, like you
- 9:31Speaker 2: have those connections like with you know, people that like
- 9:34Speaker 2: you know, obviously you have that like thing like you
- 9:35Speaker 2: all like gravitate towards it, like the commonality of and
- 9:38Speaker 2: like like you said, like it's like it's a it's
- 9:41Speaker 2: a it's like it is like it is essentially it
- 9:42Speaker 2: is like it's I get I get asked this all
- 9:44Speaker 2: the time by a few friends. I'm like, how do
- 9:45Speaker 2: you go to Disney all the time? Like I don't
- 9:47Speaker 2: call all the time? If I went all the time,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I'd be living in a box and I wouldn't be
- 9:50Speaker 2: going regardless of being a box. But the point is
- 9:54Speaker 2: like it's like, yeah, like we don't have kids. Like
- 9:58Speaker 2: if you do these things, if you work hard, you
- 10:00Speaker 2: save you play more support Now not even just say
- 10:03Speaker 2: you can save the money in the world. The most
- 10:05Speaker 2: important thing is planning, because I can tell it right now.
- 10:07Speaker 2: The first time I went with my now beautiful wife,
- 10:10Speaker 2: like I was like, yeah, let's go, and she you know,
- 10:12Speaker 2: she's been doing her entire life. I was like, yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 2: let's go have a good time. And she's like, slow down.
- 10:17Speaker 2: You just you just graduated college, you got you got
- 10:21Speaker 2: bills coming up here, and like now that like you know,
- 10:24Speaker 2: we go all the time, like she likes to tell
- 10:25Speaker 2: like some of like her colleagues or friends, like it's
- 10:28Speaker 2: kind of the point where like it was their families
- 10:30Speaker 2: saying obviously, since I'm married into it now, I'm pretty
- 10:32Speaker 2: much one playing the trips. I know, I know my
- 10:35Speaker 2: way around things. I know what to do, I know
- 10:37Speaker 2: what not to do. I also the one to try
- 10:39Speaker 2: things and when not to try things. We get to
- 10:40Speaker 2: some of that money stuff here in a little bit.
- 10:43Speaker 2: What did I do when I ask you? And then
- 10:45Speaker 2: and then I know we kind of like, you know,
- 10:46Speaker 2: we we've been kind of like taking the digs that
- 10:48Speaker 2: like people who have this like stigma of Disney adults,
- 10:50Speaker 2: if you will, what is the one stigma you think
- 10:53Speaker 2: that gets over I want to say over I mean
- 10:55Speaker 2: essentially it is overplayed. It's like the thing that like
- 10:57Speaker 2: it's like it's shoving the face like Okay, for example,
- 11:00Speaker 2: anyone from Chicago we talk like this, No, we don't
- 11:02Speaker 2: talk like that, or you know, or everyone from California
- 11:05Speaker 2: loves avocados. No, they don't love avocados. But like, what's
- 11:08Speaker 2: that one stigma? I want to say that, Like I
- 11:10Speaker 2: want to say, like that you most know of that
- 11:12Speaker 2: once one that really grinds your gears, that really pisses
- 11:14Speaker 2: you off. Oh there's so many of them. I think
- 11:18Speaker 2: there's shot of bourbon. It'll help, come on, right.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I think for me, the one that, just to quote
- 11:27Speaker 4: Peter Griffin, really grinds my ears.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That's why I said it.
- 11:34Speaker 4: It is really the the fact that you're taking enjoyment
- 11:39Speaker 4: away from people with kids, right like that one, Just
- 11:42Speaker 4: like I just I can't just shut the fuck up
- 11:45Speaker 4: and let me enjoy my time like you enjoy your time,
- 11:49Speaker 4: right right, It's it's just don't don't yuck my young
- 11:54Speaker 4: Just because I don't have kids, doesn't mean that it's
- 11:56Speaker 4: any less special.
- 11:56Speaker 2: To me, So shut up and go about your business.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Damn straight. Gin us a value or do you concur?
- 12:03Speaker 3: I do concur? I think probably the biggest piece for
- 12:07Speaker 3: me is like if somebody says that it not so
- 12:11Speaker 3: much that I'm taking magic away from somebody, because I'll
- 12:13Speaker 3: punch them right in the throat for that. But Jesus,
- 12:21Speaker 3: but I think that the big thing for me is
- 12:23Speaker 3: that they're entitled to have more fun or have more
- 12:28Speaker 3: magic than I do because they have rug rats. And
- 12:35Speaker 3: I'm like, no, that was your choice to procreate, not mine.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And I have more money than you do because I
- 12:41Speaker 3: didn't procreate, and so.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Suck it, I would agree. So like, I thankfully like
- 12:49Speaker 2: my friends, like you know, like you know, like we're
- 12:52Speaker 2: at that age where it's like, do I need a
- 12:54Speaker 2: hundred friends? Don't like the friends like we have in
- 12:56Speaker 2: our lives, like the friends that like, you know, like
- 12:57Speaker 2: we want in our lives we're close to. And yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 2: every once in a while, you know they're gonna they're
- 13:01Speaker 2: gonna push your buns and you know, piss you off
- 13:03Speaker 2: in a joking matter. And like some friends of mine
- 13:07Speaker 2: have always been like, how do you guys go so much?
- 13:08Speaker 2: Like isn't every kids stuff like that? And I'm always like,
- 13:10Speaker 2: and that's why I kind of talk to you guys
- 13:11Speaker 2: about like with my wedding, and I'm like you, yes,
- 13:15Speaker 2: you obviously, like obviously is it that that? Is that
- 13:18Speaker 2: the demographic to get kids there? Yes? Why do they
- 13:20Speaker 2: want kids there? Because if you let's see, the two
- 13:23Speaker 2: of you were to have four kids, well little Timmy
- 13:25Speaker 2: over there is gonna want to buzz light Year. Well
- 13:27Speaker 2: little Jamie's gonna want you know, those really nice mini
- 13:30Speaker 2: mouse heres. Oh but then crap. You went to Animal
- 13:33Speaker 2: Kingdom the next day and for some reason they decided
- 13:35Speaker 2: to put out a Jane from Tarzan Mickey ears that
- 13:39Speaker 2: they claim only comes out once every twenty years, which
- 13:41Speaker 2: is a kind of shit. So no, I totally understand
- 13:46Speaker 2: like that stigma of like you like where it's like
- 13:48Speaker 2: the parents or like the people with the kids are
- 13:49Speaker 2: like no, like it's supposed to be my magic and
- 13:51Speaker 2: something like about it being down there. Like again, I
- 13:53Speaker 2: can't talk anything about Disneyland, never been there, maybe someday,
- 13:57Speaker 2: but like there's so much stuff to do and Florida,
- 14:00Speaker 2: And I think that's why I love it so much,
- 14:01Speaker 2: because like every time I go there, it's like, what
- 14:03Speaker 2: do you want to do? And I'm like, I don't know.
- 14:06Speaker 2: There's two Yeah, there's almost too much to do, which
- 14:08Speaker 2: is a good problem to have exactly.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Well, And like my first time at Disney World was
- 14:14Speaker 3: I was twenty six years old. I believe it was
- 14:20Speaker 3: my first time ever there, and I went with my
- 14:23Speaker 3: brother and his family and his son was five or
- 14:26Speaker 3: six at the time, and then he had twins that
- 14:29Speaker 3: were eighteen months old, so I was taken around basically
- 14:33Speaker 3: as a child wrangler to help. But I mean it
- 14:36Speaker 3: was a very nice child wrangling position.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I yeah, you didn't have to pay for your trip.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Right, But with that said, like that was that was
- 14:46Speaker 3: my first experience there, and then every time since then,
- 14:50Speaker 3: I've always been with just adults. And the difference between
- 14:54Speaker 3: a vacation there with children and a vacation with adults
- 14:57Speaker 3: only is leaps and bounds different, and it is exactly
- 15:02Speaker 3: what you make of it. But like, it's very nice
- 15:04Speaker 3: to be able to plan to go to a lounge
- 15:07Speaker 3: or go to a fancy restaurant and sit down and
- 15:09Speaker 3: not have to worry about something screaming sitting at you,
- 15:12Speaker 3: sitting next to you in a chair, you know.
- 15:13Speaker 2: What I mean. Like, I can only imagine if, like,
- 15:18Speaker 2: if you're a parent, and by the way, full disclosure,
- 15:21Speaker 2: if you're a parent who has done this, I feel
- 15:24Speaker 2: for you. I don't, but I feel for you if
- 15:27Speaker 2: you're one of those parents that have waited in line
- 15:30Speaker 2: for god knows how long to get a table a
- 15:32Speaker 2: Trader SAMs and you have a little one can only
- 15:36Speaker 2: imagine the torture they must have gone through when they
- 15:40Speaker 2: go in there, because obviously his want to go in
- 15:42Speaker 2: there for probably the best drinks and all the property
- 15:44Speaker 2: just for their kid to be like mom, Deck and
- 15:46Speaker 2: I have a jewice or some snack and they're paying,
- 15:48Speaker 2: you know, eighteen dollars for three things of potstickers. By
- 15:53Speaker 2: the way, we're talk guilty do it every time I
- 15:54Speaker 2: go there, exactly, God, And that was one thing I
- 16:00Speaker 2: also want to bring it to so kind of going
- 16:03Speaker 2: back to when I came on your Guys podcast a
- 16:04Speaker 2: few weeks back, I told you guys, I would tell you,
- 16:07Speaker 2: and I'll do the quick version. I don't want this
- 16:09Speaker 2: to be just about me. I want obviously to talk
- 16:11Speaker 2: more about like you guys and like your opinions. Also,
- 16:13Speaker 2: we can discuss something that recently happened down there, not
- 16:17Speaker 2: not the hurricane. Obviously, we'll talk about that. And by
- 16:19Speaker 2: the way, if you want to go support that, go
- 16:20Speaker 2: to the Red Cross for more information. Everyone who hands Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 2: So yeah, So if there was one thing I would
- 16:27Speaker 2: recommend to the two of you that you guys should do,
- 16:30Speaker 2: and I feel like I'm like, right now, I got
- 16:32Speaker 2: I should have the name take on as well as
- 16:33Speaker 2: like a like a light powder blue shirts. I feel
- 16:35Speaker 2: like I'm about to like try to sell you something,
- 16:37Speaker 2: even I don't work for this company.
- 16:40Speaker 3: We're buying take my money.
- 16:43Speaker 2: If there's one of the obviously my wedding greatest day
- 16:46Speaker 2: of my life, my rehearsal dinner day before second greatest day,
- 16:51Speaker 2: because we did our rehearsal dinner at Trader Sam's. Now,
- 16:56Speaker 2: when I tell you, as I told you guys on
- 16:59Speaker 2: your show, that they go all out for you, Trader
- 17:03Speaker 2: Sam's goes all out for you. We literally essentially bought
- 17:08Speaker 2: the bar that was gonna ask that like it was
- 17:12Speaker 2: it just you and your group? It was me? It
- 17:14Speaker 2: was me, It was me, my my no, why my wife,
- 17:19Speaker 2: me and my now wife are parents and our entire
- 17:25Speaker 2: bridal party, plus they're plus ones. So do the math,
- 17:29Speaker 2: so that would fill the bar. Yes, yes, we were
- 17:32Speaker 2: right at capacity. I believe it's twenty five. We didn't
- 17:36Speaker 2: have twenty five, but were pretty close to twenty five.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And here's where they're in the here and I don't
- 17:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to go my The majority of the planning
- 17:45Speaker 2: was around the actual wedding. The Trader Sam saying when
- 17:50Speaker 2: they're like, we're like, can we do Trader Sam's were like, yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 2: do you want to do it? We're like yeah, You're
- 17:53Speaker 2: like okay, great, it's in a contract. So I will
- 17:58Speaker 2: say is this. They went all out and we drink
- 18:00Speaker 2: so much alcohol that people in our bridal party thought,
- 18:04Speaker 2: and again, this is where you got it. And this
- 18:06Speaker 2: is why I always say you got it even with
- 18:07Speaker 2: big weddings. Explain this to like, especially your bridle party.
- 18:10Speaker 2: The rest of the family, nothing against them, they go
- 18:12Speaker 2: have a good time, but the people who are there
- 18:14Speaker 2: for you, the people that are buying the suits and
- 18:16Speaker 2: the dresses and all that stuff, make sure they're aware
- 18:18Speaker 2: of all the things that like they're getting too, that
- 18:20Speaker 2: they're getting as well as you're getting. It was every
- 18:22Speaker 2: drink was already included. Because some of my groomsmen are like,
- 18:26Speaker 2: I didn't want to like go up because like I
- 18:27Speaker 2: had like four drinks and I saw what they were costs.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I'm like, it doesn't meant and I literally and I
- 18:32Speaker 2: had to tell something, it doesn't matter. We have two
- 18:33Speaker 2: or twelve I'm getting build the same to which and
- 18:37Speaker 2: of course two of my buddies or eyesbug on their
- 18:39Speaker 2: heads are like, crap, we have ten minutes. I'll take
- 18:43Speaker 2: four of everything, please. Oh and the problem and the
- 18:45Speaker 2: thing is when you get a drink doesn't matter. They
- 18:48Speaker 2: do the whole charade, the whole with the with the
- 18:52Speaker 2: I forget that, the or the nautilust thing, funny things.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So like a lot of my wife's bridesmaids, like you know,
- 19:00Speaker 2: sagnificant others, they're all sitting at the bar and they're
- 19:02Speaker 2: on their phones on eBay seeing what these cups cost.
- 19:07Speaker 2: They're looking up the stories. One guy bought the Nautilus spoiler.
- 19:10Speaker 2: He never sold it, but they're all trying to see it. Hey,
- 19:14Speaker 2: wait a minute, what's the scene about a black pearl?
- 19:16Speaker 2: So they're all buying. They all keep buying the white
- 19:18Speaker 2: pearl drinks, hoping that the shell will give him a
- 19:20Speaker 2: black pearl, and of course no one's getting it. What
- 19:23Speaker 2: I literally have in my office, I had like five
- 19:25Speaker 2: or six white pearls because they're just like, I don't
- 19:27Speaker 2: want this. And then one and then one of my
- 19:30Speaker 2: buddies who thought crap, I didn't get any drinks. I
- 19:32Speaker 2: thought you were gating build per drink. They just bought
- 19:35Speaker 2: it because well, they didn't know. They thought, oh, it
- 19:37Speaker 2: just sounds delicious, and then they got the black pearl,
- 19:39Speaker 2: and then all of these other guys are starting to
- 19:42Speaker 2: go up to him or let me let me rephrase that,
- 19:44Speaker 2: stumble up to him, like what do you want for it?
- 19:49Speaker 2: And instead he just gave it to me as a
- 19:50Speaker 2: wedding gift. So like the point I'm trying to make
- 19:54Speaker 2: is and this not just goes for the two before,
- 19:56Speaker 2: goes for anyone. And I don't know, by the way,
- 19:58Speaker 2: I don't know if you can do this with anything
- 20:01Speaker 2: but a wedding and kee May we did this early.
- 20:03Speaker 2: This is like ten, three, eleven o'clock in the morning
- 20:05Speaker 2: that we're doing okay, And by the way, other thing
- 20:07Speaker 2: there's no food, so that, yeah, it was pretty like
- 20:14Speaker 2: we got pretty oh man, we were we were the
- 20:19Speaker 2: goofy sounded normal, just say that. I don't know if
- 20:23Speaker 2: it has to be wit related, But like, seriously, if
- 20:25Speaker 2: you just get like I won't say the price, I'll
- 20:28Speaker 2: tell you, guys off air, if you get like fifteen people,
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm telling you it's worth it. It's very worth it. If
- 20:38Speaker 2: you get like fifty, if you like fifteen people like
- 20:40Speaker 2: Keby we had like twenty three twenty four people, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 2: I'm just saying. And by the way, a couple of
- 20:46Speaker 2: those people don't drink, so.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, so like okay, and and just going back to
- 20:54Speaker 4: one of the things that I absolutely love about Disney,
- 20:56Speaker 4: tell us more about this pearl drink. I don't have
- 20:59Speaker 4: We had that one campus. I'm trying to remember what's
- 21:03Speaker 4: what's in it? Like I did literally get a drink
- 21:05Speaker 4: where you get a pearl.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I literally I literally have the menu up one second, like,
- 21:10Speaker 2: and that's the thing that I love about Disney. I'm
- 21:11Speaker 2: sitting here going, what what the hell is that?
- 21:14Speaker 3: And like it's on the menu every.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Time, I know, but it's called the Polynesian Pearl. So
- 21:20Speaker 2: if you, if if anyone's been the Trader Sam's, when
- 21:23Speaker 2: you walk in, there's the bar and the far left corner,
- 21:25Speaker 2: there's that giant seashell okay, and they do a little
- 21:31Speaker 2: son and dance beforehand, and then the and the shell
- 21:33Speaker 2: opens up and a white pearl comes out. There's a
- 21:35Speaker 2: white pearl in the shell and it's rum shot of
- 21:38Speaker 2: cream liquor with Grand Marnier. I'm not gonna say that
- 21:42Speaker 2: sin thank you, and cinnamon tropical juices. It is very
- 21:47Speaker 2: delicious and I'm not joking. So many people were trying
- 21:51Speaker 2: to get that because they were they were just because
- 21:53Speaker 2: they happened after we did. Like you know, some guys
- 21:55Speaker 2: did the Nautilus obviously, my wife and I did the
- 21:58Speaker 2: OA oh no. The first time we went there, that
- 22:01Speaker 2: was the first drink we got. We bought the cup.
- 22:03Speaker 2: It's still at our bar and every time we go there.
- 22:05Speaker 2: That's the wonder we got. That's it's just it's just
- 22:09Speaker 2: a fun And we've tried some of the their drinks,
- 22:12Speaker 2: but like the from Us is always like our go to.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But it's just it was so funny scene like and
- 22:17Speaker 2: like some like my guys, you know, I'm not gonna
- 22:19Speaker 2: be like their men, man, but like they just do
- 22:22Speaker 2: beer or the occasional you know, a little maybe a
- 22:24Speaker 2: little whiskey here in there. My dad, for example, Stone Cold,
- 22:27Speaker 2: like like I'm not saying like like literally like Stone
- 22:29Speaker 2: called Steve vas and beer drinker, Like can could still
- 22:33Speaker 2: put him down? Love your dad if you're listening, Like
- 22:35Speaker 2: can put can out drink almost anyone I know even
- 22:38Speaker 2: still to this day, and I will never forget and
- 22:41Speaker 2: I camera what drink it was. It wasn't one of
- 22:42Speaker 2: the special drinks. It was just some random like rum
- 22:46Speaker 2: drink that was blue and it came in a big
- 22:48Speaker 2: tall glass and all these umbrellas and gonals what else
- 22:50Speaker 2: in it. And he's just sitting there walking around like
- 22:52Speaker 2: drinking it. And he's like, what, there's only twenty people here.
- 22:55Speaker 2: No one's ever gonna know. So yeah, I that's why
- 23:04Speaker 2: we always saw And like there's like times like my
- 23:06Speaker 2: wife and I would be discuss would be talking and
- 23:07Speaker 2: be like, do you think we could ever get people
- 23:09Speaker 2: to go back? We just say, can we get people
- 23:11Speaker 2: to go back down there? Just for that? For trading? Sam,
- 23:14Speaker 2: next time you want to do it? Candice and I
- 23:16Speaker 2: are in. Yes, just one, the two of you and
- 23:20Speaker 2: your two other co hosts. Right, that's six. Right. My
- 23:24Speaker 2: dad's always down. My dad's always down for a good time.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I can think of three guys who are still pissed
- 23:30Speaker 2: off they hit the black Pearl. We got a couple
- 23:34Speaker 2: of people we could bring along. It's easy, right there.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Oh no. And of course, and the best part about
- 23:40Speaker 2: all of it, and like this is why I always
- 23:41Speaker 2: like encourage, because like, actually I had a and I
- 23:43Speaker 2: discussed a podcast. A couple of months ago, I had
- 23:45Speaker 2: a coworker asked me for some advice because one of
- 23:47Speaker 2: their cousins is going through this process there or they're
- 23:49Speaker 2: they're discussing about going through this process. And they were like, hey, so, like,
- 23:54Speaker 2: I know you rented essentially rented out Trader Sam's. Like
- 23:57Speaker 2: what advice would you guys? Just have fun? But also
- 24:00Speaker 2: like just when they say you're supposed to be there,
- 24:03Speaker 2: be their toy mittes early and then just stay until
- 24:05Speaker 2: they literally kick out, which is what we did, and
- 24:07Speaker 2: they're forget, like you know because obviously being the Trader SAMs,
- 24:09Speaker 2: there's no bathroom there, so like you know, as you
- 24:11Speaker 2: walk out of the Trader Sam's, you're having to go
- 24:13Speaker 2: to the bathroom. And I just remember all the dirty
- 24:16Speaker 2: looks that we would get people standing their way to
- 24:20Speaker 2: get checked in, and of course my father alons like
- 24:22Speaker 2: private events, standing there looking like a bouncer like get
- 24:27Speaker 2: in my skinny father. Alah, yeah for sure, but no,
- 24:32Speaker 2: And that's why, like it was, and that's the thing too,
- 24:34Speaker 2: It is like I'm sure you guys and we could
- 24:35Speaker 2: talk about some maybe like cool moments you guys have had,
- 24:37Speaker 2: like those like the moments we really enjoyed because, like
- 24:39Speaker 2: I told you guys on your show, that was the
- 24:41Speaker 2: weirdest thing for us was seeing all not just like
- 24:44Speaker 2: not just her family, like all of our friends and
- 24:47Speaker 2: family down there. And it was one of those things
- 24:50Speaker 2: where like we had talked about it for so long,
- 24:52Speaker 2: like we would want something like that, and then when
- 24:54Speaker 2: it happened, it was so weird. But now it's like
- 24:57Speaker 2: we want that feeling to get obviously, yeah, we love
- 24:59Speaker 2: that have the same feeling. Yeah, we wanted to one
- 25:00Speaker 2: feel like yeah, of course, like just like they go
- 25:02Speaker 2: down and be like, oh hey, my brother's down here,
- 25:03Speaker 2: are like, oh hey, your friend from colleges here and
- 25:05Speaker 2: stuff like that. So like that's why I would say,
- 25:07Speaker 2: like if you guys could like you know, okay, I mean, hell,
- 25:09Speaker 2: if you guys, if the two of you do it,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'll bring my wife and I'll be down there in
- 25:13Speaker 2: a heartbeat. Like you know, I'm just saying, like a
- 25:14Speaker 2: party of Trader Sam for three hours, let's go. And
- 25:16Speaker 2: now's the thing too. This It was three Yeah, it
- 25:18Speaker 2: was three hours, and god was that the longest rehearsal
- 25:22Speaker 2: afterwards in my entire And we were some random ballroom,
- 25:27Speaker 2: in the Grandveller and in and what should have taken
- 25:30Speaker 2: twenty minutes took an hour. So right, But that's the
- 25:35Speaker 2: that's the fun thing about like those I feel like
- 25:37Speaker 2: that's the thing, Like that's why I like, that's why
- 25:39Speaker 2: it's like fun to connuct Like Disney adults, there's like
- 25:41Speaker 2: so many stories that everyone could tell each other.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and like you were like I keep saying this,
- 25:47Speaker 4: like that's what I love about Disney. Like there's those
- 25:49Speaker 4: moments that you just like attached to, Like what's the
- 25:54Speaker 4: deep memory, like the core memories? Yes, memo Barry's Yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 4: our our friend who went with us in February, like
- 26:02Speaker 4: etched a moment into my head that I will never forget.
- 26:05Speaker 4: So I know you're a Star Wars guy. He was
- 26:07Speaker 4: a huge Star Wars guy as well. So first time
- 26:10Speaker 4: in Disney World, first time in any Disney park. Doesn't
- 26:13Speaker 4: like rides, like, was just there to have fun.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah it considers himself a Disney fan, but like didn't
- 26:20Speaker 3: really get it.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 26:22Speaker 4: So we're in Galaxy's Edge and we buy our way
- 26:26Speaker 4: into Rise the Resistance, and so we get on that
- 26:30Speaker 4: attraction and he's super excited because the queue for that
- 26:32Speaker 4: is cool. You've been through spoilers for anybody that's listening.
- 26:35Speaker 4: You've been through the spaceship ride. You've been into the
- 26:39Speaker 4: the what's the place with all them? Yeah, the Stormtrooper
- 26:45Speaker 4: room on the what's the ship called the stars start
- 26:50Speaker 4: started start thank you.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, So we've been there. We've been there. They're talking
- 26:54Speaker 2: to us.
- 26:54Speaker 4: We get on the ride vehicles and we're going around
- 26:58Speaker 4: and we make it into the at at room or
- 27:00Speaker 4: at a t like whichever way you want to say that,
- 27:03Speaker 4: there's probably a right way. But I swear to god.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Our friend goes, yeah, he starts giggling and clapping when
- 27:13Speaker 4: we go into that room, just turns instantly into a
- 27:15Speaker 4: four year old. It's like, and that's the thing that
- 27:20Speaker 4: Disney does to people, and it does your experience at
- 27:25Speaker 4: at the at Trader Sam's. I didn't turn you into
- 27:28Speaker 4: a four year old because you were drinking like a fish,
- 27:30Speaker 4: but some of those things that just etches into your
- 27:33Speaker 4: core memories. And that might be a really happy for Wisconsin, but.
- 27:43Speaker 2: From an Illinois, no one get mad. My mother and
- 27:48Speaker 2: father were great.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Sorry, No, that's the thing too, and like one of
- 28:00Speaker 5: like and again, here's the thing like.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Huh, this is gonna sound and by the way, and
- 28:05Speaker 2: I apologize, this is gonna sound like such a pompous
- 28:09Speaker 2: jackass joke. There is a TikTok that went around at
- 28:14Speaker 2: that long ago where it was talking essentially about like
- 28:17Speaker 2: like I'm above average essentially like that, and it was like,
- 28:20Speaker 2: you know the average it was. It was it was
- 28:22Speaker 2: someone like getting like talking about like going to Disney
- 28:23Speaker 2: and stuff like that, and it was like, you know,
- 28:25Speaker 2: the average personally goes to Disney once and once in
- 28:28Speaker 2: their life. And then the caption was, well, I go,
- 28:30Speaker 2: I've been there like five times. I guess I'm above average.
- 28:33Speaker 2: And so my father in law I constantly bring this
- 28:37Speaker 2: up because it's like, hey, we gotta find those few
- 28:40Speaker 2: things that are like that, we are above an average
- 28:41Speaker 2: of everyone else with some songy oh yeah, and like
- 28:47Speaker 2: and that's the thing too, is like and I love
- 28:48Speaker 2: like there's so many people like every time you go,
- 28:51Speaker 2: there's always those memories you can have and like and
- 28:53Speaker 2: actually I didn't talk about this on your podcast. My
- 28:57Speaker 2: favorite other than I was gettingrried. My second favorite memory
- 29:00Speaker 2: from that weekend actually was so after all the festivities,
- 29:04Speaker 2: after the rehearsal dinner, barely the rehearsal party barely make
- 29:10Speaker 2: it for the rehearsal, eating pizza again, almost getting kicked
- 29:12Speaker 2: out of the enchanted a Rose bar for bringing Domino's pizza.
- 29:15Speaker 2: That's a true story. Okay, you have to come back
- 29:19Speaker 2: to that. I forgot to tell you about that during
- 29:23Speaker 2: Dominald's Pizza. My favorite, my third, my second favorite memory
- 29:28Speaker 2: was after everything was done and we did the fireworks
- 29:31Speaker 2: and stuff like that, we went to the Top of
- 29:33Speaker 2: the World bar at Bay Lake, had a few drinks
- 29:35Speaker 2: of some family, and then my wife and I went
- 29:37Speaker 2: to the Polynesian for the night. And of course my
- 29:40Speaker 2: wife and my wife she's like, do you think we
- 29:42Speaker 2: get into Trader Sam's. It's like and I'll never forget it.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I should you not. It was twelve minutes to close,
- 29:50Speaker 2: so we go to the door, and of course this
- 29:52Speaker 2: kid who can't be not even maybe three months into
- 29:55Speaker 2: the Disney College program opens the door. It's like eleventh
- 29:58Speaker 2: whatever time it was at nineties. He's a woman in
- 29:59Speaker 2: a wedding dress and she goes Hi doesn't mention. She goes,
- 30:05Speaker 2: we wondering if we can get in for a quick
- 30:07Speaker 2: drink and the guy said, look, there's one person ahead
- 30:10Speaker 2: right now, there's only one person in line. If you
- 30:12Speaker 2: come back in like five minutes and they're not here,
- 30:16Speaker 2: we'll let you in. So we literally ran back to
- 30:19Speaker 2: our hotel room to put all of our stuff, and
- 30:20Speaker 2: we ran back. Nobody showed up, so we went in.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I think we did the Oha drink shucker, and of
- 30:29Speaker 2: course you know, right away everyone's looking at us and
- 30:31Speaker 2: I had to say we got married, yay, and everyone cheers.
- 30:34Speaker 2: The one gripe I have on that day other than
- 30:38Speaker 2: the wedding, other than not the wedding the weather was
- 30:40Speaker 2: that nobody bought us a drink. Rude. It was a rude.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But again I can't I can guarantee you have. Those
- 30:50Speaker 2: people probably thought, what wait is that a girl? We're
- 30:52Speaker 2: in a wedding dress, all dressed up. Yeah, we got
- 30:56Speaker 2: married here. But it's just it's just like there's like
- 30:58Speaker 2: little like funny memory. I mean not, I mean obviously
- 31:01Speaker 2: that's not just funny. It was a beautiful moment like
- 31:03Speaker 2: those like funny memories like that, Like that's like why
- 31:05Speaker 2: as you say, like your friend wins there and like
- 31:07Speaker 2: he's like a kid in the candy store, like laughing,
- 31:09Speaker 2: like in a hysterical four year old where it's like, hey,
- 31:11Speaker 2: calm down, or what kind of gas or what kind
- 31:12Speaker 2: of laughing gas are you want right now? And like,
- 31:15Speaker 2: I'm sure we've all had those moments. But then again,
- 31:17Speaker 2: I'm sure you've also have had some moments where it's
- 31:20Speaker 2: like fuck, So what what is the time that you
- 31:26Speaker 2: guys can remember where I'm never saying like you almost
- 31:31Speaker 2: like like I'm never coming back here again, But like,
- 31:32Speaker 2: what was the moment where you were just like this
- 31:35Speaker 2: is so bleeping frustrating? Why does it? And again, obviously
- 31:39Speaker 2: like screaming kids, none of the forests can complain about that,
- 31:43Speaker 2: but I'm sure we see we also we seeing screaming
- 31:44Speaker 2: kids that are wait, way too tired, way too hot,
- 31:46Speaker 2: all that stuff. But like, what is a moment for
- 31:48Speaker 2: you that like every time you're there, or one moment
- 31:51Speaker 2: specifically where it just it's to this day it just
- 31:53Speaker 2: makes you want to drink more bourbon because you're still
- 31:55Speaker 2: mad about it, or like something that continuously happens that
- 31:59Speaker 2: just really irks you. Because for me, the one thing
- 32:00Speaker 2: I will say it always pisses me off is every
- 32:03Speaker 2: time about the un rise of resistance. It shuts down
- 32:05Speaker 2: for half an hour like clockwork. I swear to God.
- 32:12Speaker 4: See, I've never had an experience like that where something
- 32:14Speaker 4: shuts down. But I will tell you, okay, I have
- 32:17Speaker 4: had mould. Well, when we first tried to get on Rise,
- 32:20Speaker 4: it was closed, yes, like we had so we were
- 32:23Speaker 4: one of those people, like we didn't get on it
- 32:25Speaker 4: and then it was closed, but we had to come
- 32:26Speaker 4: back later to use our passes. But I will tell
- 32:29Speaker 4: you the thing that frustrates me and will sometimes make
- 32:33Speaker 4: me be like why the hell do I do this
- 32:36Speaker 4: is other guests. Like we were an Animal Kingdom one
- 32:40Speaker 4: day and I think it was my first or second
- 32:43Speaker 4: time in Animal Kingdom. We were over in Africa and
- 32:46Speaker 4: I needed to go to the bathroom and I couldn't
- 32:48Speaker 4: find one because everything is themed, so like everything is hidden.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Like I just my eyes were not focusing on where
- 32:54Speaker 4: the bathroom was. So I walked over and I stood
- 32:57Speaker 4: in line behind some guy that was waiting to talk
- 33:00Speaker 4: to a cast member, and I'm sort of listening into
- 33:03Speaker 4: his conversation and this dude is bitching about it. So
- 33:06Speaker 4: this is like nine thirty or ten o'clock in the morning,
- 33:09Speaker 4: bitching about not being able to find a cheeseburger in
- 33:12Speaker 4: Africa and just screaming at these two poor cast members.
- 33:16Speaker 4: What And I'm like, go over to Dinah Land, you asshole.
- 33:20Speaker 4: If you want a if you want a cheeseburger in here,
- 33:24Speaker 4: you were in Africa, eat African food, Dick or.
- 33:27Speaker 2: The park, just open. Go to McDonald's before you come here,
- 33:30Speaker 2: exactly exactly.
- 33:32Speaker 4: And then like other times, like in the Mickey's phil Harmagic,
- 33:35Speaker 4: when they when you're walking into that and they tell
- 33:37Speaker 4: you to walk all the way to the end, the
- 33:39Speaker 4: number of people that will rush bum rush the front
- 33:42Speaker 4: of the door to go stand in there or sit
- 33:43Speaker 4: in the middle of an aisle and people crawl over
- 33:46Speaker 4: them makes me want to kick them.
- 33:47Speaker 2: In the teeth.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Oh and those are the things that really like when
- 33:52Speaker 4: I think about things that make me think about do
- 33:55Speaker 4: I really want to do this? It's not anything Disney does.
- 33:58Speaker 4: It's the thing Disney adults did do.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Or the people that they're they're their due. Yeah, like right,
- 34:03Speaker 2: not respecting your other peers there, right, I get it.
- 34:07Speaker 2: You're spending a shit ton of money, so am I.
- 34:10Speaker 4: We all are right, Get over yourself, have a good time,
- 34:15Speaker 4: Get over yourself. Go find a cheeseburger if you want it, Like,
- 34:18Speaker 4: I can point you to the cheeseburger pods if you
- 34:20Speaker 4: want them in in Pandora. Go there those by the way, Yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 4: they really are And like just those are the kind
- 34:29Speaker 4: of things that really just irk me and like do
- 34:32Speaker 4: we really is it time for us to go back
- 34:34Speaker 4: and deal with that? The answer is always yes, But
- 34:37Speaker 4: those are the kind of things, those moments that I'm
- 34:39Speaker 4: just like, okay, this is this is dumb. And then
- 34:41Speaker 4: I talked to those poor cast members. I'm like, where's
- 34:43Speaker 4: the bathroom? And they have this exaggerated look and they
- 34:46Speaker 4: just point and it's a door like fifteen feet behind me.
- 34:50Speaker 4: So then I become that guest because I'm too lazy
- 34:53Speaker 4: to go looking for a bathroom that I should have
- 34:55Speaker 4: seen when I was waiting to talk to them. And
- 34:57Speaker 4: I'm like, h just because you had a bad interaction
- 35:00Speaker 4: with them, I'm now the asshole.
- 35:01Speaker 2: And damn it, I hate to say it, but I've
- 35:06Speaker 2: also done like where's the bathroom? It's like right there,
- 35:12Speaker 2: like like let's litter right behind my head, Like oh sorry,
- 35:19Speaker 2: I swear, can you take it? I swear we're not
- 35:22Speaker 2: I've God, I swear I haven't drinken Athy yet. Okay,
- 35:27Speaker 2: got one, Yeah, I do.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Actually, on our last trip in February, we were there
- 35:31Speaker 3: during the Festival of the Arts and we were hanging
- 35:35Speaker 3: out in the Germany Pavilion, just you know, just grabbing
- 35:39Speaker 3: a snack and drink and whatever. There was a family
- 35:44Speaker 3: with mom and dad and probably three or four kids,
- 35:48Speaker 3: all very much under twelve, and the parents proceed to
- 35:56Speaker 3: give their children beer and then laugh at the children
- 36:02Speaker 3: when they don't like the taste of the beer. And
- 36:03Speaker 3: I'm like, you realize that's against the law. Like, that's
- 36:06Speaker 3: just not bad parenting, that's against the law, right, yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 3: And I'm just like, come on, people, that we are
- 36:14Speaker 3: not despite what you think. Disney World is not in
- 36:18Speaker 3: some magical bubble that excuses all of your decisions and
- 36:23Speaker 3: defies laws of gravity and everything else. No, it's not.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Remember that.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Oh good god.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'm just like, really, take your trashy ass
- 36:35Speaker 3: to six Flags, please.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Hey, six Flags not too far from my house.
- 36:44Speaker 3: The closest we have is Adventureland, and that is a
- 36:46Speaker 3: trash heap in itself.
- 36:48Speaker 2: So I mean I can say I don't know about
- 36:54Speaker 2: the part by you guys, but six flags by me.
- 36:57Speaker 2: They're trying their best. They're at things, they're trying things.
- 37:02Speaker 2: It's not working things. But do or do not? As
- 37:06Speaker 2: they say, there is no try. Oh god, appreciate I
- 37:12Speaker 2: think we did a tour. Do not reference someone in
- 37:14Speaker 2: your last show, Oh my god. But no. And that's
- 37:21Speaker 2: a great point too. It's like, and I get it.
- 37:23Speaker 2: When you're on vacation, you're you know, you're a little lose,
- 37:26Speaker 2: you're you know, your guards a little bit down and
- 37:28Speaker 2: stuff like that until you sit in that Florida heat
- 37:31Speaker 2: for an hour. But like, but like it, like and
- 37:35Speaker 2: it's the thing to do. I know, I haven't seen
- 37:37Speaker 2: anything like you know, like kids like letting their kids
- 37:39Speaker 2: drink beer and like, oh they hate it, Like yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 2: no shit, they're twelve. Wait wait, wait, wait till they're fourteen.
- 37:45Speaker 2: You give my cell phone.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Ma.
- 37:50Speaker 2: But at the same time too, it was like I'll
- 37:51Speaker 2: never forget and like my wife and we looked like
- 37:54Speaker 2: I put this. We don't love talking about this moment,
- 37:56Speaker 2: but we do love talking about this moment. Like it
- 37:58Speaker 2: was one of the first times we went and it
- 38:00Speaker 2: was a coarse, typical Florida, unpredictable pouring rain and it
- 38:04Speaker 2: definally the rains from south. So we're walking I remember
- 38:06Speaker 2: we walked back. We're talking past snow uh snow World,
- 38:08Speaker 2: Jess a small world right between that and Peter Pan,
- 38:11Speaker 2: and there was this it was like it was like
- 38:13Speaker 2: the what's the the movie HiT's with the kid in
- 38:15Speaker 2: the yellow rain jacket all that stuff. It was like
- 38:17Speaker 2: the perfect It was like the perfect symbol. This is
- 38:20Speaker 2: the only kid. We're in a bright ass yellow rain
- 38:22Speaker 2: jacket for some reason in South or in Middle. And
- 38:25Speaker 2: I'll never forget. This kid is on a child leash.
- 38:27Speaker 2: And this kid's jumping and jumping and jumping in a
- 38:29Speaker 2: puddle in a puddle, and this dad just standing there defeated.
- 38:32Speaker 2: And then the kid doesn't like PLoP down like jumps
- 38:36Speaker 2: in the air and receeds to just belly flop into
- 38:38Speaker 2: this puddle on the gravel. And then and then like
- 38:42Speaker 2: not cries right away, sits up, looks at the dead
- 38:45Speaker 2: and just goes the Dan just had this look of
- 38:50Speaker 2: like what the fuck did you think was gonna like?
- 38:56Speaker 2: And I feel bad for those parents, but at the
- 38:58Speaker 2: same time, it's like, oh my god, like and that's
- 39:02Speaker 2: the thing too. He's like when my brother when he
- 39:04Speaker 2: came for the wedding, like he asked me, like, man, like,
- 39:07Speaker 2: how do you guys like they only brought one of
- 39:09Speaker 2: their kids and like and they brought their daughter. She's amazing,
- 39:12Speaker 2: she's so smart. But they're like, how do you guys
- 39:14Speaker 2: do this with no kids? Or how do you guys
- 39:16Speaker 2: do this in general? Like we don't have kids, right,
- 39:20Speaker 2: Like that's how like like like you're here trying to
- 39:22Speaker 2: figure out where the hell Mini mouse is, I'm here
- 39:24Speaker 2: trying to figure out shit. Okay, so magic he doesn't
- 39:27Speaker 2: have any alcohol? When do I take the monorail back
- 39:30Speaker 2: to catch me? Did the bus and get a pre beverage? Yeah?
- 39:36Speaker 4: So you mentioned the heat that that's kind of another
- 39:38Speaker 4: thing that like we've decided that there's times in the
- 39:41Speaker 4: year that we just won't go right because of the heat,
- 39:44Speaker 4: because of what it does to us, Like you think
- 39:46Speaker 4: about those times, like probably the first almost real fight
- 39:50Speaker 4: that Candice and I have, my god was my first
- 39:54Speaker 4: was my first trip to Disney's and that bourbon dammit, right,
- 39:59Speaker 4: she's been there a couple times probably at this point.
- 40:02Speaker 4: It was my first trip to disney World and we're
- 40:06Speaker 4: on one of those little pathways behind the castle and like,
- 40:11Speaker 4: we have a place where we want to go, and
- 40:12Speaker 4: I'm like, no, we need to go this way, and
- 40:16Speaker 4: she's like, shut up, we need to go this way.
- 40:19Speaker 4: And my dumb ass fairly recently married goes, no, you're wrong,
- 40:24Speaker 4: we have to go this way, and she goes whatever,
- 40:28Speaker 4: and she turns around and starts walking away from me.
- 40:33Speaker 4: So that's when my my brain kicks in. I'm like, okay,
- 40:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna follow her. I think she's wrong. I'll prove
- 40:38Speaker 4: myself right. And then we get to where we're going
- 40:40Speaker 4: and I'm like shit. She was not happy with me
- 40:46Speaker 4: for the rest of that day.
- 40:48Speaker 3: I believe the words that came out of my mouth
- 40:50Speaker 3: were I know where I'm going. I'm going there. If
- 40:54Speaker 3: you don't like it, you can go wherever you like.
- 40:58Speaker 2: He's just dear. See Two things. One, yes, that's what
- 41:03Speaker 2: you should have said. Second, I don't think I ever
- 41:07Speaker 2: was like, no, babe, we have to go this way
- 41:10Speaker 2: to like our third time, because it's like you've been
- 41:12Speaker 2: going you're your entire life, Like I like this is
- 41:14Speaker 2: like my fourth time here. Ever, like like yeah, I'm
- 41:16Speaker 2: not gonna say shit. But once once I started getting
- 41:20Speaker 2: asked quotes like hey, how do we do this? Somebody?
- 41:22Speaker 2: It's like, okay, now I can say not your wrong,
- 41:24Speaker 2: or oh, an alternative quicker route would be this way,
- 41:28Speaker 2: when really, I mean, you're wrong. We're going this right?
- 41:34Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's amazing, But hey, how many couples
- 41:39Speaker 2: can say it? Our first real fight was at the
- 41:41Speaker 2: most magical place on earth, right right, exactly, I'm one
- 41:47Speaker 2: of you. One of you. A couple of seconds ago
- 41:49Speaker 2: actually mentioned money, and that was the one thing I
- 41:52Speaker 2: wanted to have a brief discussion with you about. It's
- 41:55Speaker 2: we're getting kind of towards the twilight of this podcast here. Obviously, Yes,
- 42:00Speaker 2: and this time I always say to anybody, any vacation
- 42:02Speaker 2: is expensive. Yes, it doesn't matter what. It doesn't matter
- 42:04Speaker 2: if you're going to Disney World, doesn't matter if you're
- 42:06Speaker 2: driving uh to fucking Hollywood, California or my case, or
- 42:09Speaker 2: actually you might I mean you guys might have heard.
- 42:11Speaker 2: If you're driving to the Wisconsin Dell's, doesn't matter, a
- 42:14Speaker 2: water park city town, whatever, it's a middle fucking nowhere.
- 42:19Speaker 2: But obviously, yeah, money is a factor in any vacation. Obviously,
- 42:23Speaker 2: it's a huge factor down there and obviously with an
- 42:27Speaker 2: increase presence of social media and all that stuff, a
- 42:31Speaker 2: lot of people have dulged their ways, if you will,
- 42:34Speaker 2: in terms of like how they save money, or like
- 42:36Speaker 2: the things they do and stuff like that. What is
- 42:38Speaker 2: one thing that you guys have learned over your past
- 42:42Speaker 2: couple of trips, if you will, that can really bring, uh,
- 42:46Speaker 2: not just value your future, but also obviously help you
- 42:48Speaker 2: keep an extricable buction, which obviously then you can use
- 42:50Speaker 2: towards other things at Disney, like custom light sabers or
- 42:55Speaker 2: or or things that of course that your house needs
- 42:58Speaker 2: other than your mortgage. Right.
- 43:01Speaker 3: So I would say, for the longest time, like we
- 43:03Speaker 3: were a hardcore dining plan stands like, because it was
- 43:09Speaker 3: just amazing. You can go into these fabulous restaurants, get
- 43:12Speaker 3: whatever you want to eat, and just be full the
- 43:14Speaker 3: entire time that you're there. Fair enough, right, But this
- 43:18Speaker 3: past trip they had just relaunched the dining plan, and
- 43:22Speaker 3: they have restricted it so much, and we have changed
- 43:27Speaker 3: how we eat so much that it doesn't make sense anymore.
- 43:31Speaker 3: So like they're saying, you can have an appetizer, you're
- 43:33Speaker 3: an entree and a dessert plus a drink and that's
- 43:36Speaker 3: your meal. But like, I don't know all that many
- 43:40Speaker 3: people that actually eat all of that anymore. It's usually
- 43:43Speaker 3: like an entree, maybe a dessert or maybe an appetizer,
- 43:46Speaker 3: but usually not all three.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 3: So I think what we've decided for our next trip
- 43:52Speaker 3: is that we are going to calculate the cost of
- 43:55Speaker 3: what the dining plan would be and just load that
- 43:58Speaker 3: onto a gift card smart so that we can use
- 44:01Speaker 3: it how we want to and not be left with
- 44:04Speaker 3: tons of snack credits or anything like that.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Right, I mean, the gift cards down there are very
- 44:09Speaker 2: beneficial for Vie have those. Actually, I'm not joking. I've
- 44:11Speaker 2: had Christmases where friends our family go, what do you
- 44:13Speaker 2: want for Christmas? And then here I am a giant,
- 44:16Speaker 2: six foot three, two hundred and ninety five pound man
- 44:18Speaker 2: going a Disney gift card. Yeah.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it totally makes sense, totally makes it.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Yeah, And if you're buying gift cards on your own again,
- 44:26Speaker 4: like going to like a Costco or a Target where
- 44:29Speaker 4: you can get a five percent discount on Disney cards
- 44:33Speaker 4: that says you'r five percent on your vacation. We don't
- 44:35Speaker 4: do that as much as we should because we're kind
- 44:37Speaker 4: of lazy about it and just like, oh, I have
- 44:39Speaker 4: a credit card, we can use that.
- 44:41Speaker 2: But those those kind of things.
- 44:42Speaker 4: And then the other thing that I would call out
- 44:45Speaker 4: like not necessarily money saving, but we're big experience people,
- 44:50Speaker 4: So there's a lot that you can do around Disney
- 44:53Speaker 4: that doesn't cost much, if anything, more than your park
- 44:56Speaker 4: admission secrets. Why would you say that, I'm getting Like,
- 45:00Speaker 4: one of the things that we really want to do
- 45:02Speaker 4: that we haven't done is the behind the Seeds tour
- 45:05Speaker 4: at the Living with the Land Pavilion. Oh, that's only
- 45:09Speaker 4: twenty five bucks for like a two hour tour of
- 45:12Speaker 4: the greenhouses.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Wait, you're shitting me. I didn't know that. No, it's
- 45:17Speaker 2: like twenty five bucks.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Okay, eat a cucumber.
- 45:20Speaker 2: You get to eat something they grew there. Good to know.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you don't have to spend the money on the
- 45:26Speaker 4: plaid coats to go do some.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Of that stuff. Yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 4: And then like the other thing that you can do
- 45:31Speaker 4: when you're looking for those experience is just talk to
- 45:34Speaker 4: cast members, right right, Like some of our best experiences
- 45:37Speaker 4: have been like when we've been at Animal Kingdom and
- 45:41Speaker 4: see something happening and we just turn and talk to
- 45:43Speaker 4: the cast member who just happens to be a veterinarian
- 45:46Speaker 4: that works at Disney and can tell us all the
- 45:48Speaker 4: things that are happening and just having those great conversations.
- 45:53Speaker 4: You don't have to spend for experiences all the time.
- 45:56Speaker 2: And yeah, it's or wait in a line for three hours,
- 46:00Speaker 2: right exactly. Oh, go ahead.
- 46:02Speaker 3: I will say it until the day I die. The
- 46:04Speaker 3: cast members truly are the magic, and like they want
- 46:08Speaker 3: to interact with you. That's that's their job. That's what
- 46:11Speaker 3: they get trained to do, and they get trained very
- 46:13Speaker 3: very well. I will also put in the plug please
- 46:16Speaker 3: be nice to cast members, please, please, please. They work
- 46:21Speaker 3: so hard to bring on the magic for everybody, and
- 46:23Speaker 3: it's just that that's another dick. That is one of
- 46:27Speaker 3: my big ones is watching people treat a cast member
- 46:29Speaker 3: like shit, because I mean, that's another punch in the
- 46:32Speaker 3: throat coming right there.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Well, I mean now I do now, Yes, you should
- 46:37Speaker 2: appreciate your cast members. I And that's the thing actually
- 46:39Speaker 2: I need to do more is actually talk with the
- 46:42Speaker 2: cast members. Like every time my wife and I we've
- 46:43Speaker 2: been the Epcot, will make small talk and it's like
- 46:46Speaker 2: it's like we don't mean to do this. It just
- 46:49Speaker 2: comes up in conversation because the cast members not can
- 46:52Speaker 2: just be like they're like a like a certain big
- 46:54Speaker 2: chain grocery store. There's your bread, go get it, leave
- 46:57Speaker 2: me alone. Like they'll actually like ask you, like, how
- 46:59Speaker 2: is your day, where you're going, what have you done
- 47:01Speaker 2: so far? What hasn't worked out for you today? And
- 47:03Speaker 2: stuff like that. Every Like there's been like I think
- 47:06Speaker 2: two or three times my wife and I like around
- 47:08Speaker 2: dinner time we'll just like maybe make a small talk
- 47:11Speaker 2: with a cast member and before we know they're like, hey,
- 47:14Speaker 2: do this actually go to this London pavilion or go
- 47:17Speaker 2: to this other pavilion and you can sit on the
- 47:19Speaker 2: lake for the fireworks. You can get that VIP access.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Just tell him I sent you. It's like what yeah,
- 47:23Speaker 2: just go ahead, Yeah, just just ask for this person,
- 47:25Speaker 2: tell him I sent you. You'll be in the list.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Wait what yeah, go ahead, Yeah, Like oh shit, okay, cool, thanks,
- 47:33Speaker 2: So no, I do I agree with you one hundred percent,
- 47:36Speaker 2: Like be nice with those casts workeruse like yeah, while
- 47:38Speaker 2: they are trained well, while obviously as the way they're
- 47:40Speaker 2: working for the big corporate conglomber Ooh, it's like at
- 47:43Speaker 2: the end of the day like they also Okay, perfect
- 47:47Speaker 2: example or perfect emphasis on all this. There's a lot
- 47:51Speaker 2: of places you hear about their employees. The ones you
- 47:55Speaker 2: don't hear negative things about is Disney World and Disneyland
- 47:59Speaker 2: or just Disney and general, Like I'm not nothing as Universal.
- 48:02Speaker 2: They obviously have a lot of big things going to
- 48:03Speaker 2: have a lot of big things coming up, which I
- 48:04Speaker 2: think Disney actually needs to kick some shit in the
- 48:06Speaker 2: third year, which they're trying to. But like, you don't
- 48:10Speaker 2: hear people going, you know, going head over heels for
- 48:13Speaker 2: people that work at Universal, right, if that makes sense,
- 48:16Speaker 2: it's always a cast members at Disney.
- 48:17Speaker 4: Yeah, they and I don't know's it must be something
- 48:21Speaker 4: in the water with Disney, Like we are facebooks, it.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Could be right.
- 48:29Speaker 4: We are Facebook friends with multiple servers from cruise ships.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Yes, oh wow, like just from like decades ago, right.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Just because you get to talking to them, like we're
- 48:39Speaker 4: the type of people like on one of the cruise ships,
- 48:41Speaker 4: we'll find the piano bar and that's where we'll spend
- 48:44Speaker 4: every night before dinner, after and after usually but and
- 48:48Speaker 4: you they have the same servers night after night after night,
- 48:51Speaker 4: so you just talk to them about where they're from.
- 48:52Speaker 4: You talk to them about their experience, and before long
- 48:56Speaker 4: they're like, oh my my Disney name is this?
- 48:59Speaker 2: My real name is this?
- 49:00Speaker 4: Slip me up on Facebook? Gotcha, and it's just amazing.
- 49:04Speaker 4: How like, again, you don't get that at Universal, you don't.
- 49:07Speaker 4: We've never gotten that on another cruise line.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Or at six Flags you get told get the fuck
- 49:13Speaker 2: away from me, right allegedly.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Are you using a quotes right now?
- 49:23Speaker 2: Allegedly? One thing? And again, I know we messaged. I
- 49:29Speaker 2: would want to ask you about we did talk about
- 49:32Speaker 2: lines a little bit. I want to make sure I
- 49:34Speaker 2: do get this because this is actually kind of like
- 49:35Speaker 2: you know, you like sometimes like to talk about things
- 49:37Speaker 2: that are just so trendy in the news a little bit. No,
- 49:39Speaker 2: not the election, fu that. No, thank you, you're welcome.
- 49:45Speaker 2: So obviously there was this huge change with the Lightning
- 49:47Speaker 2: lane and as their fast pass, it obviously went viral,
- 49:53Speaker 2: not for good reasons, right, I wanted to ask you.
- 49:58Speaker 2: I know we talked about you know, we talked about
- 49:59Speaker 2: like like how you can like save money to find
- 50:02Speaker 2: value like you guys are you know, like the gift
- 50:04Speaker 2: cards and like how you kind of get away from
- 50:05Speaker 2: the meal plan I mean, my thing is always like
- 50:08Speaker 2: like whenever I eat a meal, like I make sure
- 50:10Speaker 2: it's a big meal so that I am filled up.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Otherwise I was drinking a ton of waters to keep
- 50:14Speaker 2: my stomach and all that stuff. And then another trick
- 50:17Speaker 2: I always do too. There's a trick I always uh
- 50:19Speaker 2: to have told a few people I know. I always
- 50:21Speaker 2: try to make sure my Domino's account has like a
- 50:24Speaker 2: free pizza online so then when I'm down there one night,
- 50:27Speaker 2: if I'm like desperate for food, I can just order
- 50:29Speaker 2: a pizza for free, maybe pay like two books for
- 50:31Speaker 2: deliver something like that. That's a trick, idea, that's a trick.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Or I mean, any pizza place, but I know that
- 50:35Speaker 2: Dominod's is a popular one down there that has like
- 50:37Speaker 2: a couple of Dominods around the whole resort or anything
- 50:39Speaker 2: like that. Right, But what were your thoughts on the
- 50:42Speaker 2: huge If you go online, just look up Disney's Lightning
- 50:44Speaker 2: length thing, you'll see the huge uproar if you haven't
- 50:46Speaker 2: heard about it. But what were your thoughts about the
- 50:51Speaker 2: Lightning Ling premiere or whatever?
- 50:53Speaker 4: The you know, I don't know if I have a
- 50:56Speaker 4: different take on that or or not, but My first
- 50:59Speaker 4: reaction when I started seeing people's reaction to that, was
- 51:04Speaker 4: why in the hell does Disney have to cater to
- 51:06Speaker 4: everyone for everything they do? So they have a Lightning
- 51:13Speaker 4: Lane that now starts at three hundred and fifty dollars
- 51:16Speaker 4: in Magic Kingdom, so you can go on every ride
- 51:18Speaker 4: once without waiting in line. I don't want to afford that.
- 51:22Speaker 4: I'm okay with that. Why should I be mad that
- 51:24Speaker 4: somebody else does want to afford that Disney is not
- 51:28Speaker 4: there to cater to everything everybody for everything, or.
- 51:33Speaker 2: As my final likes of state, because year over year, obviously,
- 51:36Speaker 2: like the prices have gone I mean that's anything. The
- 51:38Speaker 2: prices have gone up for everything from you know, tickets
- 51:42Speaker 2: to food, all that stuff. But as my fathers to say,
- 51:45Speaker 2: people can bitch all they want about the prices. Every
- 51:48Speaker 2: time you go to Disney, doesn't maan the tickets fifty dollars,
- 51:50Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty dollars, the place is packed right well, and.
- 51:55Speaker 3: That's just it. Like, and I I've said this before
- 52:00Speaker 3: on our podcast, but like, when you go to Disney,
- 52:05Speaker 3: they have built the reputation of perfection, right and that's theming,
- 52:10Speaker 3: that's food, that's attractions. That's whatever you want to make it.
- 52:14Speaker 3: They have built this legacy of perfection, right, well, perfection
- 52:20Speaker 3: costs money. And yes, I mean look at the Shaman
- 52:24Speaker 3: of Song in Nabby River Journey. She was a thirty
- 52:27Speaker 3: million dollar animatronic. Thirty million dollars on one piece of
- 52:33Speaker 3: an attraction that's like a minute and a half long.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I hate that attraction, by the way. Yeah, so do
- 52:39Speaker 2: we thank God finally.
- 52:43Speaker 4: On our show when we're talking about that one, the
- 52:45Speaker 4: Q line for that one. Candice always says, you can't
- 52:47Speaker 4: make rope interesting because the que line for them.
- 52:52Speaker 2: That's a great line and funnier, funnier, believe it or not.
- 52:57Speaker 2: And now again I'm a big man. Dizzey is pretty
- 53:01Speaker 2: good about letting you get on any almost pretty much
- 53:03Speaker 2: every ride there you can get on. The only ride
- 53:06Speaker 2: I can't I cannot get I get on on the
- 53:08Speaker 2: River Journey is I can't do the past the flight
- 53:11Speaker 2: one correct because and this is the weirdest thing and
- 53:16Speaker 2: I and I won't say where they're from. I don't know.
- 53:19Speaker 2: I remember their name was John. That was it. First
- 53:22Speaker 2: time I tried to get on, my left leg wouldn't click.
- 53:26Speaker 2: My right leg would click, but my left there's three clicks.
- 53:29Speaker 2: There's a backlock and two leg locks. My left leg
- 53:32Speaker 2: wouldn't click. So they came up to me. They were
- 53:34Speaker 2: very nice. I was like, okay, it is what it is.
- 53:37Speaker 2: I was more upset because in fact, I waited as
- 53:38Speaker 2: long as I waited, even though we had we did
- 53:41Speaker 2: the q TH, it was so long ago. My wife
- 53:43Speaker 2: went on, she said it was so cool. Father Lah
- 53:46Speaker 2: went out. They said it was really cool and I'll
- 53:48Speaker 2: never forget this cast member was a sweetheart. He just
- 53:51Speaker 2: sitt in there asking me questions and he's like, hey man,
- 53:53Speaker 2: I'm sorry whatever, blah blah blah blah, and I'll never
- 53:56Speaker 2: forget that. The group before my wife gets off, and
- 54:00Speaker 2: again I'm not body shaming or anything like that. There
- 54:03Speaker 2: are people way bigger than me walking through and the
- 54:06Speaker 2: guy just goes there's no fucking way. I just start
- 54:13Speaker 2: cracking up and I'm like what. He's like, you're telling
- 54:16Speaker 2: me you couldn't get on that. I'm like, no, my
- 54:19Speaker 2: left leg wouldn't click, and like, and the cast members
- 54:21Speaker 2: are actually in the in the in like the coaster thing.
- 54:23Speaker 2: They actually had someone move so I could try them, Like, okay,
- 54:26Speaker 2: maybe someone maybe just someone with this machine. No, wouldn't work. Yeah,
- 54:32Speaker 2: So John, if you ever listen to this, I don't,
- 54:35Speaker 2: I'm not gonna. I mean, I don't know what his
- 54:37Speaker 2: last name. I remember where he's from because of his
- 54:39Speaker 2: name tag. But if you were there, you're a sweetheart.
- 54:41Speaker 2: I appreciate it. You've made a really crappy situation for me,
- 54:45Speaker 2: really hilarious. So and like and then the second time
- 54:49Speaker 2: I try, I'm like, yeah, I'll try it. And I
- 54:50Speaker 2: lost some weight too. Nothing, No, didn't work. I'm like, hey, okay, cool,
- 54:53Speaker 2: he does what it is. And like my wife is
- 54:55Speaker 2: like you sure, Like No, I got a great experience
- 54:57Speaker 2: off this, right, No matter what I gotta cast, I
- 55:00Speaker 2: got a cast member. Say fuck.
- 55:05Speaker 3: But going back to my point about like the money
- 55:09Speaker 3: and the cost of perfection, It's like, I don't understand
- 55:12Speaker 3: why people get their shorts and a twist about having
- 55:15Speaker 3: to pay and yet still expecting the level of perfection
- 55:19Speaker 3: and the constant innovation and the constant new things and
- 55:23Speaker 3: all of these things. It's like pick your poison, Like
- 55:25Speaker 3: do you want good stuff? Do you want Disney or
- 55:29Speaker 3: do you want crap?
- 55:30Speaker 2: Right?
- 55:30Speaker 3: Because if you want crap, I can sell you crap.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Plenty if you want plenty of there's plenty of crap
- 55:36Speaker 2: to go around, right. Yeah.
- 55:40Speaker 4: I'm I'm one of those stupid people that'll argue with
- 55:42Speaker 4: people online every now and.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Then because I find it kind of fun.
- 55:46Speaker 4: And like I was arguing back and forth with somebody
- 55:49Speaker 4: online about that that Lightning lane, and I'm like, Disney
- 55:54Speaker 4: does storytelling better than anybody else. That's what makes Disney
- 55:58Speaker 4: Disney is the storytelling from the moment you enter the
- 56:01Speaker 4: queue line until you get off of the attraction. Lightning
- 56:04Speaker 4: Lane bypasses so much of that story, right that I
- 56:08Speaker 4: don't know that I always want to skip, like I
- 56:12Speaker 4: hot Take. I don't like seven Dwarfs mind train unless like.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm falling in love with you.
- 56:19Speaker 4: That attraction using the Lightning Lane is is I won't
- 56:23Speaker 4: say trash, but I don't like it. But if I
- 56:25Speaker 4: do the entire queue where you get to play with
- 56:28Speaker 4: the toys and the spinning yels and have that whole
- 56:30Speaker 4: story as you go through it, the three minutes on
- 56:33Speaker 4: the attraction is so much fun, right because you have
- 56:36Speaker 4: all that build up to it, but and you just
- 56:37Speaker 4: get to walk on and walk on a car and
- 56:39Speaker 4: not see any of that stuff. The story's gone. So
- 56:42Speaker 4: then it's just kind of a mediocre roller coaster.
- 56:44Speaker 3: So would you say trash adjacent, Yes.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Trash adjacent. I like, that's well like and that's like
- 56:49Speaker 2: I've done, like okay now, and full disclosure, I don't.
- 56:52Speaker 2: I have nothing against Lightning Lane. I get it if
- 56:55Speaker 2: it's like, hmm, I'm okay. For example, oh crap, honey,
- 57:00Speaker 2: because of how we had to schedule our trip. We're
- 57:03Speaker 2: here on a Saturday. Yes, and it's like right before
- 57:07Speaker 2: the summer, or it's right after spring break, it's at
- 57:10Speaker 2: spring break time. I get that. But I mean there's
- 57:12Speaker 2: times like my wife and I we haven't used it,
- 57:15Speaker 2: and we've walked right on to we walked through the
- 57:17Speaker 2: qube problem and like and it's also like the thing
- 57:19Speaker 2: too is like and by the way, the thing we're
- 57:21Speaker 2: shitting on, by the way, the Gentleman is not like
- 57:23Speaker 2: just a lightning lane in general. It's just the lightning
- 57:24Speaker 2: lane prem where it's like pay four hundred dollars per person,
- 57:28Speaker 2: where the hell it is and you can go on
- 57:29Speaker 2: every single ride once. But here's the you know, we've
- 57:31Speaker 2: used Lightning Lane and we've gone every single ride we've
- 57:34Speaker 2: we will be like, ho gee, let's see we go
- 57:36Speaker 2: on Mickey and Minnie's Railway in an hour and a half.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Oh hey, Tower Terror has a twenty minute wait, let's
- 57:41Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And it's just like it
- 57:43Speaker 2: must obviously it helps that we know what we're doing now.
- 57:46Speaker 2: But like I just and that's the thing. There's like
- 57:48Speaker 2: there's I don't want to see there's a lot of
- 57:50Speaker 2: hat or I put this way, I don't think people
- 57:52Speaker 2: hate Disney. I think people just have to talk shit, right,
- 57:56Speaker 2: I mean, because that's the thing. It's like, haha, got you,
- 57:58Speaker 2: ha ha, I got you with my funny come back
- 58:00Speaker 2: even only have two followers or something like that.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Well, and I think too that that Disney is kind
- 58:09Speaker 3: of kind of putting it to people like if you
- 58:12Speaker 3: don't want to be here and experience everything that we
- 58:15Speaker 3: have to offer, and you actually appreciate what we built,
- 58:20Speaker 3: and your main goal is to go attraction attraction attraction
- 58:23Speaker 3: attraction attraction and not have to wait and not have
- 58:25Speaker 3: to go through what everybody else in this park is
- 58:28Speaker 3: going through, then you're going to pay a premium price
- 58:31Speaker 3: for it. And if you want to do that, so
- 58:32Speaker 3: be it, have at it, right, We'll take your money.
- 58:35Speaker 4: So here's my question though, with how they priced that.
- 58:39Speaker 4: If you are going with a family of like six
- 58:41Speaker 4: or eight people or whatever going into Magic Kingdom, peak
- 58:46Speaker 4: pricing is four hundred dollars per person, why not just
- 58:49Speaker 4: get a VIP tour in. Yeah, it's priced so and
- 58:55Speaker 4: I think they have to price it right.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Actly. And I think that's the thing too, is like
- 59:01Speaker 2: the thing like that they're saying, it's like very limited
- 59:04Speaker 2: in terms of how they're gonna do that, like those
- 59:06Speaker 2: like you know, massive uh Disney, you know, whatever the
- 59:11Speaker 2: hell you want to call it, like like the Disney
- 59:13Speaker 2: I don't like the Lightning Lane Premiere or whatever. But like, yeah,
- 59:18Speaker 2: like there's certain things that's like, oh g like, hey,
- 59:19Speaker 2: I can pay for this, or I can pay an extra.
- 59:23Speaker 2: This poet's like, yeah, I gep'm as you said, I'm
- 59:24Speaker 2: on vacation. Oh wait, hmm, between the five of us
- 59:27Speaker 2: is gonna call this much? But if hey, guys, if
- 59:29Speaker 2: you each give me one hundred fifty bucks extra, we
- 59:31Speaker 2: can get a VIP tour, right, and we can give
- 59:33Speaker 2: walk on everything. Plus we get this, we get that,
- 59:36Speaker 2: we get this we get all these other shit and
- 59:38Speaker 2: you can park hop Yeah, and I would have been
- 59:40Speaker 2: like you had me at shit like right, like and
- 59:46Speaker 2: I have nothing against Epic Universe. I hope it kicks
- 59:48Speaker 2: ass because in my mind is like like you said,
- 59:50Speaker 2: like they don't like they don't have to worry about
- 59:52Speaker 2: what they're doing. But like, and that's the thing competition,
- 59:55Speaker 2: like it creates. It creates controversy because it's one of
- 59:57Speaker 2: those things where it's like we don't I don't give
- 59:59Speaker 2: a shit with they're but then when enough people start
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: talking about it and start like you know, like hey,
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: you know, you guys should do this, like eventually we're like, okay,
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: let's fee what we can do. Like there's this whole
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: like you know, it's a rumor like some people who
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: don't know Disney understands. But like there was a huge
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: uproar about they might get rid of Muppet Vision three
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: D because of the Monsters Land. But now right after
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: a huge uproar, now they's stands probably gonna move to
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: the animated area where the launch bay is, which it
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: doesn't get used anymore. Sorry, like Gentleman's is a fact.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: But like the thing about and that's the thing about you.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: I have nothink it's Universal Studios. I hope, I hope
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: it's successful, especially the one that's about to open in Florida.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: But like, and I camera, I read this the other day.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: It was like a couple of days ago they did
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: their huge like here's our opening, it opens on this
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: day next year, blah blah blah blah blah. It was
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: at like nine hundred and forty like impressions or essentially
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: just like in terms of numbers, while Disney just did
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: a simple thing about like, oh hey we're expanding Frontier
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Land and it did half of what they did, So
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: just one little land did half that, while those other
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: places like here's our new park and it's like okay,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: so and again go ahead.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: Sorry, yeah, I was gonna say, here's my my thing.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: How you can tell Disney is worlds apart. How many
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: YouTube channels can you find that are dedicated to to
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Universal alone?
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Could even tell you. I've not found one. No, Like,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: if anything, the guy should do Disney go there. I'm like, oh,
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I'll try it. Yeah, I need to.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: I need to alternate my content a little bit to
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: keep it fresh. I'm gonna go to Universal for a
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: couple episodes.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Or now I thought of you, now that I thought
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: of it the few I okay, I don't know if
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: you guys ever heard the name my phone. He loves
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: him and he he's and I said, if I ever
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: met him a person, I would buy him drink right away.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Is that Tom Morrow guy?
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Thank you. I'll never forget. Like he did a video
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: where he was like talking about it. It was like
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: super Mariolind or something like that, and like and like
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: it was just like some other ones like oh yeah,
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: so I was invited by and it's like, so you
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: didn't go there, just like your own way. Well, well
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: the previous week he's like, yeah, I flew to Paris
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: and I paid all this money for this. And then
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: it's like it's like, yeah, I know, I'm in I'm
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: in California for this Universal opening. I was invited by,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: you know what I mean. In today's video is also
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: sponsored by and it's just like I could see her
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: but like, hey, I mean I wish them nothing but
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: the best, because, like I said, I think controversy creates cash,
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: and like it just it drives both of them to
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: like kind of like, you know, really like you know,
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: put the you know, pedal the metal, try to like
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: boosom shit up because I'm excited about the updates are
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: doing down in Florida. But and I have nothing against
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: the other places too, because like I get this all
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: the time, like, oh, would you want to go to
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Disneyland or do this? And I'm like, no, not that
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: I would have. I'm like, nah, just Disney Wold has
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: so much shit to do down there. I was just
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: like every time I go down there, I don't do
