- 0:01Speaker 1: The play is in Confused. Podcast is rated M for
- 0:03Speaker 1: marijuana no minors, but your audience is only you know,
- 0:08Speaker 1: he's telling Joel is in charge of the levers. The levers. Yeah,
- 0:13Speaker 1: the things you're doing there, the levels levels. Yeah, but
- 0:16Speaker 1: they're also levers. Yeah, what about them? You're a little
- 0:20Speaker 1: heavy on them? What they're a little too loud? Yeah,
- 0:22Speaker 1: you're like I could be like, hey, I don't hear
- 0:25Speaker 1: a thing, and you're like, oh, let me turn it
- 0:26Speaker 1: up a little bit, and all of a sudden, I
- 0:27Speaker 1: can hear everything, you know, at the loudest fucking decibel.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's the first F bomb on the show. I was
- 0:33Speaker 1: gonna say, look at this. Did you just started in
- 0:35Speaker 1: your cursing already? I've been cursing on that storm. You've
- 0:38Speaker 1: been the one cursing. You are cursing way more than
- 0:41Speaker 1: I have been, I promise you really. Yeah, you're much
- 0:44Speaker 1: more on edge. I can't imagine why I have every
- 0:47Speaker 1: reason to be on it.
- 0:50Speaker 2: So as of recently, I've developed this bad habit of constantly,
- 0:54Speaker 2: I mean, all the time, I do this. Yeah, I
- 1:02Speaker 2: had's not something new, you know that, right, You've been
- 1:04Speaker 2: doing that since I've known you. Oh really, yeah, you
- 1:07Speaker 2: were once a seventeen year old fucking dick head kid,
- 1:10Speaker 2: he brings herself all the time.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he come and just I need coffee makers here
- 1:14Speaker 1: and there. We had a you know, didn't you put
- 1:17Speaker 1: one in the studio? Eventually I did? You got nightmare anyway?
- 1:21Speaker 1: But why why should you walk all the way down
- 1:23Speaker 1: the hall when you could have the coffee maker rite
- 1:25Speaker 1: in your studio? Yeah geez no.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But anyway, so, oh, so you think that I've said
- 1:29Speaker 2: oh like a lot, yeah the long time.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Almost every time I see you saying about thirty to
- 1:34Speaker 1: forty times, I do not you do? Or whenever you
- 1:37Speaker 1: talk on the phone, be like, how are things? How's work?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Sure a subject, but you know, how are things? And
- 1:43Speaker 1: you'd be like, oh, you always start with uh, that's
- 1:46Speaker 1: not new, bud. I don't know. You're an kind of guy.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I guess it is.
- 1:52Speaker 2: But my father called me out on it. Oh, next week,
- 1:55Speaker 2: he goes, I'm.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Tired of hearing you say, oh you say that all
- 1:58Speaker 1: the time. Oh, It's like I have every reason to say.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I know that's how I feel about life. That's how
- 2:04Speaker 1: I feel about life right now. Yeah, you get a
- 2:07Speaker 1: card for it, A pass you get a halt whatever
- 2:10Speaker 1: those past things called. There's a guy waiting for us
- 2:12Speaker 1: by the way to connect.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, we're trying to do our first ever virtual virtual guests.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So I'm we're flying. What's the saying, we're flying by
- 2:21Speaker 1: the seat of our pants? Yeah? What does that even mean?
- 2:24Speaker 1: What a weird saying? Right, Well, we're sitting still, but
- 2:28Speaker 1: we're flying on the seat of our pants, flying by
- 2:31Speaker 1: the seat of our pants, like flying? Ass up? Is
- 2:34Speaker 1: that what it means? Fly? It's a weird one. I
- 2:39Speaker 1: don't know. There's a bunch of sayings like that that
- 2:40Speaker 1: It's like, what, let's see if Kevin can help. Let's
- 2:42Speaker 1: connect with this guy.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, say hello to our first virtual guest on the
- 2:46Speaker 2: Blazed and Confused podcast.
- 2:48Speaker 1: We're gonna learn all about the movie he just made.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Hello Kevin.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Check out those silky fucking pipes right.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 2: This is also awkward because you can only see me,
- 3:00Speaker 2: you know, when we have the virtual get like Mike Becker,
- 3:03Speaker 2: come over here, wave way.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's as a director, it's very frustrating to see
- 3:09Speaker 3: all this wasted space knowing that there's a Mikey right
- 3:12Speaker 3: there out out of fran.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Oh, Kevin You've had a lot going on, but you've
- 3:16Speaker 1: also done a lot of cool things. Kevin Kraft is
- 3:19Speaker 1: our guest here today. By the way, on the what
- 3:21Speaker 1: is this episode fifty eight of Blazed and Confused? I'm Becker.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That's Joel Kevin Craft. Give us a little backstory about
- 3:28Speaker 1: what you've done. You've done a lot of cool things,
- 3:31Speaker 1: more impressive than us, so please share.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I mean, I started doing construction and realized that it
- 3:39Speaker 3: sucked and left that and got into radio. Was I
- 3:44Speaker 3: worked for the Howard Searn Show. I started as an intern,
- 3:47Speaker 3: and then after like two semesters, it just so happened
- 3:51Speaker 3: that somebody in like the back office team quit. I
- 3:55Speaker 3: got that job. So I worked for Howard for about
- 3:57Speaker 3: five years in New York, and then I moved out
- 3:59Speaker 3: to LA to try and be a filmmaker. And in
- 4:02Speaker 3: the meantime, I was working for Serious XM and they
- 4:05Speaker 3: were like, hey, you know, would you like to help
- 4:08Speaker 3: us out? And you know, well, we can pay you
- 4:10Speaker 3: for a few gigs here and there while you're you know,
- 4:12Speaker 3: job hunting. So I did that and I fell just
- 4:16Speaker 3: right back into radio doing the Jason Ella Show. I
- 4:19Speaker 3: was their call screener for a little bit. Then they
- 4:22Speaker 3: hired me. I became their executive producer. I was a
- 4:26Speaker 3: co host eventually, and I did that for about twelve
- 4:29Speaker 3: years and got fired from that. I was just like,
- 4:33Speaker 3: you know what, I've written all these screenplays, It's time
- 4:36Speaker 3: to just make something happen and made a movie.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Very cool, and Joel's not a movie guy. I'm going
- 4:41Speaker 1: to warn you what you know about it. It's just
- 4:44Speaker 1: he doesn't have the attention span for much, you know,
- 4:47Speaker 1: like when doing a podcast is like amazing, Like I
- 4:50Speaker 1: don't believe this is happening because his attention span is
- 4:52Speaker 1: so crazy.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But yeah, but we're doing a podcast that that it's
- 4:54Speaker 2: perfect for the people that have no attention span because
- 4:56Speaker 2: it moves, it jumps from one thing to the next
- 4:58Speaker 2: to the next.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You're not wrong about it that we're doing something the
- 5:01Speaker 1: ADHD method. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm proud of you. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I'm not just movies, I tell you. It's However, though,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I did watch Titanic again the other day. Yeah, I
- 5:10Speaker 2: watched titan which I've seen before. Right, everybody's seen Titanic,
- 5:14Speaker 2: and I know that I've watched Titanic before. However, though, dude,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I watched Titanic, like I really watched it as an
- 5:20Speaker 2: adult for the first.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Time the other night. Shit's sad, dude. Yeah, at the
- 5:24Speaker 1: end of it, I'm like, fuck, did you actually cry?
- 5:28Speaker 1: I mean, like I I.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Still think that there was enough room on that door.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Though she was beat a bit, Jack could have easily
- 5:38Speaker 2: fit on that door. There was nothing else that he
- 5:40Speaker 2: could have He could have found a float on, didn't
- 5:42Speaker 2: they say? It actually wasn't a door, it was something else,
- 5:45Speaker 2: like a wardrobe or something. Either way, there was plenty
- 5:49Speaker 2: of ship floating around in the water that he could
- 5:51Speaker 2: have latched onto.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah, there were a bunch of bodies that could have
- 5:53Speaker 1: just climbed up on. You know, well, I don't know, right,
- 5:58Speaker 1: think about it. Titanic too, Man for nineteen ninety seventy grew.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry that was Yeah, it was for you. A
- 6:05Speaker 1: little morbid, Yeah, a little morbid. Yeah. Uh. Titanic for
- 6:08Speaker 1: nineteen ninety seven. The graphics still pretty good, man. What
- 6:12Speaker 1: do you think about that, Kevin?
- 6:13Speaker 3: As far as the special effects, how they hold up. Yeah, honestly,
- 6:16Speaker 3: it's been a while since I've seen it, all right,
- 6:19Speaker 3: go watch it. I remember being impressed by them back
- 6:22Speaker 3: in the day. And it's James Cameron, so it has
- 6:24Speaker 3: to have aged.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Well yeah, so used, Like I'm not even a movie
- 6:28Speaker 2: guy enough to know, Like what other James Cameron movies
- 6:31Speaker 2: would I know? Like, but Pirana two, The Spawning never
- 6:35Speaker 2: heard of it?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Ye, next.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Terminator too? How about that one?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Terminator? Oh yeah, I've heard of that. That's Swartz. I've
- 6:45Speaker 1: seen that. No, I'm definitely that's the I'll be I'll
- 6:48Speaker 1: Be back movie. Right, Yeah, we'll call it that. Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It wasn't impressed by that one. I don't know about
- 6:52Speaker 1: that one. Wasn't impressed by it. Oh my god. Wait,
- 6:54Speaker 1: So what's just the he did the second one and
- 6:56Speaker 1: not the first one?
- 6:57Speaker 3: No, he did the first one as well.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Okay, yeah what else?
- 7:00Speaker 3: Aliens?
- 7:01Speaker 1: No, Avatar, the Blue People, No that I've heard of it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I've heard of it that. Uh, Like I remember we
- 7:10Speaker 1: had a copy of that growing up, Like my parents
- 7:13Speaker 1: had that on Blu Ray when Blu Ray was Because
- 7:15Speaker 1: people still Kevin, Joel's kind of more of a Toy
- 7:19Speaker 1: story kind of guy, which, by the way, I have
- 7:21Speaker 1: yet to see Toy Story five, Kevin, have you seen
- 7:23Speaker 1: Toy Story five yet?
- 7:24Speaker 3: I have I see everything. I have the A list
- 7:26Speaker 3: pass at AMC, so me too, me too, Yeah, I
- 7:28Speaker 3: see everything that comes out.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And what did you think of Toy Story five?
- 7:31Speaker 3: It was great, but probably the weakest of the franchise.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Al Right, I mean, look, when you when you have
- 7:38Speaker 3: a franchise that's a heavy hitter like Toy Story, one
- 7:41Speaker 3: of them has to be the worst. And it's still awesome.
- 7:43Speaker 3: So I think that just speaks to the franchise itself.
- 7:47Speaker 3: But I'll say, Joel, if you if you didn't like
- 7:49Speaker 3: Terminator Too, I don't think you should watch my movie
- 7:52Speaker 3: because it doesn't stand a chance.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I've never seen Terminator two. I said, Terminator one. I've
- 7:56Speaker 1: seen that, and even that was a little I think
- 7:59Speaker 1: you like two more? You think, yeah? For surely? Oh yeah, definitely, Yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 1: it's very good. Speaking of twos, and speaking of Titanics,
- 8:06Speaker 1: wasn't there a Titanic two? Titanic also? I don't know, No,
- 8:12Speaker 1: wasn't there a movie like a follow up? Was a
- 8:14Speaker 1: Titanic too? Am I making that up?
- 8:16Speaker 3: I don't there was, but it was done by one
- 8:18Speaker 3: of those I forget what they call them. I think
- 8:20Speaker 3: they were like a mockbuster company. So it was like, yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 3: it was Titanic too, but it was done by like
- 8:28Speaker 3: the people that did trans morphers.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Trans morphers. I've never even Yeah, it sounds like something
- 8:35Speaker 1: you'd find on porno.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Do you remember back in the day going to Blockbuster
- 8:40Speaker 3: and there was like a movie you had heard of
- 8:41Speaker 3: right there on the shelf, and right next to it
- 8:43Speaker 3: was like a knockoff where they changed one or two letters.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I do remember that now he's way
- 8:48Speaker 1: too yeah that, but yeah, I do remember going to Blockbuster, though,
- 8:51Speaker 1: I do remember that. We're not here to talk about
- 8:53Speaker 1: other movies. We're here to talk about the Second Coming
- 8:55Speaker 1: of John Cooper, by the way, which also sounds like
- 8:58Speaker 1: also sounds like it could be I'm born up.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Hey, if we get a sequel, it's going to be
- 9:03Speaker 3: John Cooper Comes Again.
- 9:04Speaker 4: I love that.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Which is the name of Howard Stern's book, right, is
- 9:07Speaker 1: it not Howard Stern Comes Again? Is that true? Yeah? Yeah?
- 9:10Speaker 3: It his most recent one.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, which is very good. I got that
- 9:13Speaker 2: Santa Claus bought me that the one year for Christmas.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. It's a book of his interviews. Did you
- 9:18Speaker 1: read it? I read bits and pieces of it, all right,
- 9:20Speaker 1: that's about right. But anyway, the second Coming of John
- 9:25Speaker 1: Cooper Kevin, that is just so wild and awesome. You finally,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I don't know, you've been writing stuff since you were
- 9:31Speaker 1: a kid, right, You've always been like creative and writing stuff. Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I wrote my first screenplay when I was in high
- 9:36Speaker 3: school and I've been trying to do something with it
- 9:39Speaker 3: ever since. And you know, when I was working in radio,
- 9:42Speaker 3: I sort of just got lazy with it because I
- 9:46Speaker 3: went from you know, the job site, which I hated,
- 9:49Speaker 3: and then it's just like, okay, well I'm working creatively.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I'm working in comedy.
- 9:53Speaker 1: This will do.
- 9:54Speaker 3: And it was never really what I wanted to do.
- 9:57Speaker 3: But you know, when you put in sixty hours of
- 10:00Speaker 3: writing jokes and stuff for other people and then you
- 10:03Speaker 3: get home, the last thing you want to do is
- 10:04Speaker 3: write more jokes for yourself.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And yeah, fair enough.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Once the old job thing disappeared, freed up a lot
- 10:10Speaker 3: of time to finally pursue just taking the reins and
- 10:14Speaker 3: doing everything myself.
- 10:15Speaker 1: That's pretty cool, all right.
- 10:16Speaker 3: So you've been fired too, Yeah, all right, nice, I
- 10:19Speaker 3: got fired twice. I got fired by Sirius XM when
- 10:22Speaker 3: they did their first round of cuts when COVID hit.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, let's face it, the first thing everybody started
- 10:26Speaker 3: cutting corners on when the pandemic hit was like, hold
- 10:29Speaker 3: on a second, I'm paying for radio. All right, well
- 10:30Speaker 3: that's the first bill I cut. Yeah, and everybody whose
- 10:34Speaker 3: contract came up during the pandemic, they were just like,
- 10:36Speaker 3: you're gone, You're gone, You're gone. So we got fired,
- 10:39Speaker 3: relaunches a podcast, and then the host of the podcast
- 10:43Speaker 3: went bankrupt and he fired me so he didn't have
- 10:46Speaker 3: to pay me anymore. God, radio's awesome, isn't it.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Ah Man, We could have gotten real jobs. Stuff, thinking
- 10:53Speaker 1: about what I could have done. What would if you
- 10:55Speaker 1: would have gotten a real job, what would your real
- 10:57Speaker 1: job have been.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I'm not smart enough for any of them.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I feel the same way I was gonna say, you
- 11:02Speaker 1: guys are Yeah, I feel the same way.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I'm realizing that now as I have a movie that
- 11:07Speaker 3: I'm out promoting and it's like shit, in the meantime,
- 11:09Speaker 3: I might have to get It's like, all right, I
- 11:10Speaker 3: could work at Costco. I think I could do that.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I'd be a good Costco dude.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You guys have Costco on the West Coast? Oh yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 1: I kind of hate cost Coast. We were in Costco.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Why do you hate it? It's wonderful. It's overwhelming, man,
- 11:22Speaker 1: too many. I don't know how Costco in the West
- 11:24Speaker 1: Coast is, but over here, too many, damn people. Everywhere
- 11:27Speaker 1: you turn there's twenty other people trying to get there.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I think it's laid out weird. You gotta wait in
- 11:32Speaker 1: line everywhere. Yeah, samples are good. Though, samples are great.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We'll go there and have lunch.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And honestly, though, the last time we were there, there
- 11:39Speaker 2: was this guy that was handing out this stuff that
- 11:41Speaker 2: you put in water. It was like a knockoff liquid ivy.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I guess it wasn't a knockoff because it was probably
- 11:46Speaker 1: more expensive, but you know what a liquid iv is,
- 11:47Speaker 1: like a beverage hydration multiplier thing. He goes, well, why
- 11:51Speaker 1: don't you try this. I'll give you the whole bottle
- 11:52Speaker 1: of it if you like it. And I thought, you
- 11:54Speaker 1: give me the whole bottle of it. Hell yeah, I'll
- 11:55Speaker 1: drink that give me And it was really damn good.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I felt obligated then, though the box, because he gave
- 12:01Speaker 1: me an entire bottle of water with the shit in it. Yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 1: How much was it? And how many have you used?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Like three? Geez, it's good, but it's not that good. Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: it's called like fizz or something. Yeah, fizzy fizz fizz fizzers.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Don't look at me. I can't be a paid spokesperson.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell it's called. It's good,
- 12:20Speaker 1: but and you want a job anyway. Anyway, The Second
- 12:25Speaker 1: Coming of John Cooper. Dude, I got to see this
- 12:27Speaker 1: movie at a theater. What was that theater? We saw
- 12:29Speaker 1: it in New Jersey?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that was That was actually the theater that
- 12:33Speaker 3: I used to go to as a kid when I
- 12:34Speaker 3: would visit my dad in Atlantic Highlands. And Kevin Smith
- 12:39Speaker 3: bought it. Yeah, and so it was kind of like
- 12:41Speaker 3: on the verge of bankruptcy and I think it was
- 12:43Speaker 3: his childhood theater too, so he bought it and rebranded
- 12:46Speaker 3: it as the smod Castle Cinema or theater. And yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 3: it was part of Kevin Smith's film festival.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That's really which is really cool. Yeah, dude, I was
- 12:56Speaker 1: so excited just to see it in the theater like that.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'm glad I got a chance to do that kind
- 13:00Speaker 1: of before anyone else, did, you know. And yeah, I was.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want to say, like I'm pleasantly surprised,
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like, I'm sure people will
- 13:09Speaker 1: tell you that all the time, Like, oh, I can't
- 13:11Speaker 1: believe how good it was. No, I believed that was
- 13:13Speaker 1: going to be great, and it really was. It was
- 13:15Speaker 1: super entertaining. Please Joel has not seen the movie yet.
- 13:18Speaker 1: He could have been a good host and like checked
- 13:20Speaker 1: it out, which I'm sure he's going to do after
- 13:22Speaker 1: the show. Right, you didn't tell me to watch it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I would have have, but I've seen it. Please tell
- 13:29Speaker 1: everybody else what it's about.
- 13:31Speaker 3: So it's basically about this guy who was the biggest
- 13:34Speaker 3: celebrity of his generation and due to his bad behavior
- 13:38Speaker 3: and hard partying and all that stuff, he lost, his career,
- 13:41Speaker 3: got sued, lost everything vanished from the public eye, and
- 13:45Speaker 3: then a documentary crew finds him living on the couch
- 13:47Speaker 3: of his biggest fan as he tries to rebuild his
- 13:50Speaker 3: career from scratch. But he's he's kind of a moron,
- 13:54Speaker 3: so all of his ideas are very stupid.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really great.
- 14:00Speaker 2: So it was like a mockumentary, yes, like a spinal
- 14:03Speaker 2: tap esque movie.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, because I basically, you know, I did this pretty
- 14:08Speaker 3: much myself, so you know, when you're That's kind of
- 14:11Speaker 3: why it was so awesome to have my movie play
- 14:14Speaker 3: at Kevin Smith's festivals because he was the person that
- 14:16Speaker 3: made me want to be a filmmaker. And this was
- 14:19Speaker 3: heavily inspired by Clerks because a lot of it takes
- 14:21Speaker 3: place in the same location. Yeah, so that right there
- 14:26Speaker 3: is an easy way to save on production costs, and
- 14:30Speaker 3: the mockumentary format really helps out when you have no budget.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So take us through the steps of making a movie, Like,
- 14:38Speaker 1: I'm so fascinated by it. I want to learn a
- 14:40Speaker 1: little bit more about that, like how what it took
- 14:42Speaker 1: to get it in front of someone like Kevin Smith.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I think everybody's path is sort of different. So though
- 14:48Speaker 3: the way I did it was a little unconventional, like
- 14:50Speaker 3: I didn't go to film school or anything. I kind
- 14:52Speaker 3: of just taught myself to write. And when I wrote
- 14:55Speaker 3: this script about ten years ago with the goal of
- 14:59Speaker 3: seeing it was like homework assignment, Like what kind of
- 15:01Speaker 3: a story can I come up with with as low
- 15:03Speaker 3: budget as possible? And I go to lunch with these
- 15:08Speaker 3: people that work in the industry that are way more
- 15:10Speaker 3: successful than me, and I was like, all right, you
- 15:12Speaker 3: know what, I'm I'm ready to move forward with one
- 15:14Speaker 3: of my scripts and just do it myself.
- 15:16Speaker 1: What do I do?
- 15:18Speaker 3: And they're like, all right, well, first thing you need
- 15:20Speaker 3: is a cinematographer. All right, anybody at the table know
- 15:23Speaker 3: a cinematographer. And one guy was just like, yeah, actually,
- 15:26Speaker 3: I know this guy. He's fresh out of film school.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Let me text him real quick. And I had a
- 15:31Speaker 3: meeting with the guy the next day. He came on board,
- 15:33Speaker 3: and then he reached out to an executive producer that
- 15:36Speaker 3: he knows, and the two of them just branched out
- 15:39Speaker 3: and built a crew and then we were just kind
- 15:42Speaker 3: of off to the races from there. But it was
- 15:45Speaker 3: every step of it was psychotic, like it really just
- 15:51Speaker 3: to get any movie across the finish line, you need
- 15:54Speaker 3: just a series of like seven straight winning lottery tickets. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 3: Like any point it can just be instantly derailed and
- 16:03Speaker 3: crashed and burned. We got hit by the strikes, so
- 16:05Speaker 3: we had to delay from the strikes. The day before
- 16:09Speaker 3: we went on set and our first day of shooting,
- 16:11Speaker 3: my family was in town and then at the time,
- 16:15Speaker 3: eighty five year old grandma fell like she missed a step, fell,
- 16:21Speaker 3: bashed her face on the corner of a coffee table,
- 16:23Speaker 3: knocked her teeth out, split her lip up to her nose,
- 16:26Speaker 3: and an ambulance came. And right after the ambulance left,
- 16:30Speaker 3: I was just like, all right, guys, well I got
- 16:32Speaker 3: to go home because I have to shoot.
- 16:33Speaker 4: In the morning.
- 16:34Speaker 3: So I go to my first my first day on
- 16:37Speaker 3: set with that in my head. And then after we
- 16:40Speaker 3: wrapped the movie, our hard drives crashed, so the hard drive,
- 16:45Speaker 3: the main hard drive, the backup hard drive lost everything. Wow,
- 16:49Speaker 3: everything we shot and it took about six months at
- 16:52Speaker 3: a data recovery center to get everything brought back. They
- 16:57Speaker 3: were honestly telling me that you should try to just
- 17:00Speaker 3: cope with the fact that your movie is lost.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Wow, but you got it back.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I got it back. It took almost our entire post
- 17:06Speaker 3: production budget, but I got it back. And then from
- 17:10Speaker 3: there you go to the film festival route, and you know,
- 17:14Speaker 3: once some awards got to travel with it and take
- 17:16Speaker 3: it to some cool places. Nothing panned out from that,
- 17:19Speaker 3: and then it was just a year of me just
- 17:21Speaker 3: hitting the pavement and trying to find a distributor and
- 17:24Speaker 3: cold emailing people. And getting a lot of rejections and
- 17:27Speaker 3: then finally something clicked found a distributor and six months
- 17:31Speaker 3: after that it's now available on vod.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Oh that's awesome, man. So where can people watch it?
- 17:38Speaker 3: So you can rent or own it digitally on Prime, Fandango,
- 17:43Speaker 3: Google TV and if you're in Canada, they have weird rules,
- 17:48Speaker 3: so everything that I just mentioned got nuked and the
- 17:51Speaker 3: only way you can get it is renting it on YouTube.
- 17:55Speaker 2: We do have a lot of Canadian listeners, we do,
- 17:57Speaker 2: we do. Yeah, oh, Canada. They have great bacon up there,
- 18:00Speaker 2: don't they.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not much of a bacon guy,
- 18:02Speaker 1: but I know, you know what I do like their
- 18:03Speaker 1: bacon better than America bacon. It's Ham. Oh that's probably why.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah, Canadian bacon is just big Ham. Well small Ham
- 18:09Speaker 2: actually is small just it is so you know, when
- 18:14Speaker 2: you go to McDonald's you get a egg McMuffin.
- 18:16Speaker 1: That's the kind of Yeah, it's the round bacon Ham Canadian. Yeah, anyway,
- 18:22Speaker 1: they know what they're doing with the bacon they do. Anyway,
- 18:25Speaker 1: the Second Coming of John Cooper, Joel, You're definitely gonna
- 18:28Speaker 1: pick up a copy, right, I will, Yes, How long
- 18:31Speaker 1: is and everyone else. That's my question. Yeah, I was
- 18:33Speaker 1: just gonna ask you what's the run time? My rule
- 18:35Speaker 1: with movies, notoriously, I tell everybody this. I've said before,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I'll say it again. Hour and a half. We got
- 18:40Speaker 1: to get to the finish line in ninety minutes.
- 18:42Speaker 3: It's just a little bit over. It's a tight ninety
- 18:44Speaker 3: four a far fair.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, fair, you can do it. Fair. Fair.
- 18:49Speaker 2: If you would have said one hundred and four, then
- 18:50Speaker 2: I would have said, listen, I'm gonna have to wait
- 18:53Speaker 2: till John Cooper comes for the third time.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 3: But there's like some cool cameos in there. They're like
- 19:00Speaker 3: Brian Posain, Rob Cordrey, Doug Benson. I just pulled some
- 19:04Speaker 3: strings with some comedy people I know to get them
- 19:06Speaker 3: to come on the picture. And uh well that sounded dirty.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah, play themselves, come on the picture. See again. Could
- 19:15Speaker 1: be on porn Hub. I think it would add value
- 19:17Speaker 1: to it if they did. Hey, speaking of porn hub,
- 19:19Speaker 1: Speaking of Pornhub, we were just talking earlier before we started.
- 19:21Speaker 1: You remember way back when pornhub you can only watch
- 19:24Speaker 1: five videos a day. Yeah, they limited you remember that
- 19:27Speaker 1: way back then? They got rid of that you remember that.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I do not remember that. Really that was the thing.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Five videos.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it used to limit you with five videos a day.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Am I going crazy?
- 19:38Speaker 3: I remember seven seven day Jack and kind of guy,
- 19:41Speaker 3: So that would got to.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Work seven day. Oh look, there's a Reddit thread about it.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Teens today will never understand the five video limit on
- 19:50Speaker 2: porn hub.
- 19:51Speaker 1: When was that? We're gonna have to ask the chat jup.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Was it only in certain states? I kind of remember
- 19:57Speaker 1: that being a thing, maybe because we were in Pennsylvania, MA.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I think it was a state by state. I kind
- 20:02Speaker 1: of remember being like, oh, we're going to New Jersey,
- 20:04Speaker 1: you know, and get more than five.
- 20:07Speaker 2: In New Jersey's where it's at you get unlimited porn
- 20:10Speaker 2: and you can buy weed.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, amazing.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Oh you know that in like in southern states you
- 20:15Speaker 3: have to like scan your ID and your face, like
- 20:19Speaker 3: you have to do a three D scan of your
- 20:20Speaker 3: face to access like you porn X videos and all
- 20:24Speaker 3: that that.
- 20:25Speaker 1: No, oh yeah, it's a bunch of this. Where's this
- 20:28Speaker 1: that down south? Man? It's crazy.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to let the government know what you're
- 20:32Speaker 3: jacking it to.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Let them know. By the way, according to Google, porn
- 20:40Speaker 1: hub got rid of the five video limit in Oh
- 20:44Speaker 1: they got rid of that in twenty twenty three.
- 20:48Speaker 2: It looks like, oh, now it says this content can't
- 20:50Speaker 2: be shown for safety reasons.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Weird? Why safety? What star? I just want to know
- 20:56Speaker 1: when they got why is it unsaved? Whatever?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Anyway, Yes, the kids today will never run stand when
- 21:00Speaker 2: porn Hub you're still limit you with five videos a day.
- 21:03Speaker 3: God, and he's about waiting thirty minutes for a jpeg
- 21:06Speaker 3: to download it.
- 21:07Speaker 1: See, I never lived through that.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Wack it to that.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it has no idea about that struggle. I never
- 21:11Speaker 1: lived through that. Now, like started like before I left
- 21:14Speaker 1: for school and then run home after school and be like,
- 21:16Speaker 1: really it's almost done.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Really I could only I could almost see Sidney Crawford's titty.
- 21:23Speaker 1: You're almost there, almost, Mom.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Hang up the phone. You just interrupted the modem.
- 21:28Speaker 1: See.
- 21:28Speaker 2: But I do remember that when the internet, like you
- 21:31Speaker 2: couldn't be on the Internet on the phone at the
- 21:33Speaker 2: same time.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah, dial up right, yep. I'd be in my room
- 21:36Speaker 1: and I'd hear like somebody pick because you could hear
- 21:38Speaker 1: it through the computer. I remember like there was a
- 21:39Speaker 1: little speaker or something. You could hear people talking yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: like you could hear somebody pick up the phone, I think,
- 21:44Speaker 1: or at least my computer did or something like that.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But I hear my mom like, go on, like I'm
- 21:49Speaker 1: on a shuter. I just need two more minutes. But anyway,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I just need two more minutes. Thanks for that weird
- 21:58Speaker 1: sound effect. I don't know everyone appreciated that. It's my
- 22:01Speaker 1: sister's birthday, by the way. Yeah, she's forty seven. Boy,
- 22:05Speaker 1: if she's forty seven, then that makes you significantly younger
- 22:09Speaker 1: than I don't know about significantly significantly. It might be
- 22:13Speaker 1: a stretch there. My birthday is tomorrow, that's right. Yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 1: happy birthday. I'll be forty two. Thanks for the reminder.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Thanks man. Do you memorize people's birthdays? I'm good with it.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. When's my birthday? September tenth? Jeez, yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 1: when's mine tomorrow? Ohe networks, you won't retain this. Yeah
- 22:31Speaker 1: you know what, Kevin, when's your birthday? You should know
- 22:34Speaker 1: next weeks? Really? Yeah? What day?
- 22:38Speaker 3: The twenty second?
- 22:40Speaker 1: Alright?
- 22:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'll be forty four. Fuck yeah, how's that feel?
- 22:44Speaker 1: Fuck? Yeah? Horrible, absolutely horrible. Joel's dude, Joel's twenty seven
- 22:51Speaker 1: almost twenty eight. Now are you so fucking mad at him? Yeah?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Almost twenty eight and you know what, no, guys, I
- 22:56Speaker 3: gotta go.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for doing this.
- 22:59Speaker 2: You can never forget my birthday because it's the day
- 23:02Speaker 2: before nine to eleven and now the Charlie Kirk Day.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Charlie Kirk day. We are Charlie Kirk. No,
- 23:11Speaker 1: we are not. Have you heard that song on social media? Yeah?
- 23:15Speaker 1: Pretty stupid. I think that's an AI song. It's a meme.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's like we are Charlie Kirk. We carry the flameous man.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Mm hmm, let's not do that anymore. Did we even
- 23:27Speaker 1: start the show? We've we've been blabbing. I didn't press
- 23:30Speaker 1: the open button yet. See he just did the sound effect.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I fine, I'll start it. Sorry.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Thought Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel The
- 23:42Speaker 5: trivia podcast where truth, Fury and THHC glide. Let's spark
- 23:48Speaker 5: your curiosity and light up some knowledge. Thought Blazed and
- 23:53Speaker 5: Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel starts out now.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Well, actually started like twenty three minutes ago. But you know, yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 2: you've never been good of a time. We're still learning here.
- 24:06Speaker 2: How many episodes is this fifty eight. It takes till
- 24:08Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty eight till it gets good. So
- 24:10Speaker 2: we're almost there, Kevin. How many episodes of your podcast
- 24:13Speaker 2: do you have now?
- 24:15Speaker 3: I think yesterday? No, today, we just posted episode seven
- 24:20Speaker 3: hundred and sixty five.
- 24:21Speaker 1: How many years have you been doing that now?
- 24:23Speaker 3: Fifteen?
- 24:24Speaker 1: Fifteen years? How often? How often new episodes? How often
- 24:29Speaker 1: once a week? And what's called what Mad Scientist Party hour?
- 24:32Speaker 1: Love it? Yeah?
- 24:34Speaker 3: And we do a Patreon where we do like four
- 24:36Speaker 3: shows a week there, so it is.
- 24:38Speaker 1: It's busy.
- 24:39Speaker 3: It's a busy slate.
- 24:40Speaker 1: So you're recording every day or do you batch record?
- 24:42Speaker 1: How does that work?
- 24:43Speaker 3: Every now and then? We bank some stuff?
- 24:44Speaker 2: But we should do man, who's thinking about that? Why
- 24:47Speaker 2: don't we do that? We should take one day a
- 24:49Speaker 2: month where we record all day long, take advantage of
- 24:52Speaker 2: the format. It's not a bad idea. Say then we
- 24:56Speaker 2: can't talk about the news. It'd be good because nobody
- 24:58Speaker 2: wants to hear us talk about the news.
- 25:00Speaker 1: No, right, that's well, I like talking about it, but
- 25:03Speaker 1: we don't care much to hear us talk about that show.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I know you know it, man, you know I'm not
- 25:08Speaker 1: look at me what am i? Katie Katie Kirk. How
- 25:10Speaker 1: about that guy that just passed away? And there was
- 25:12Speaker 1: I heard about that guy? He had paid some sex
- 25:15Speaker 1: workers to do some Lindsey Graham did that? Oh edit
- 25:20Speaker 1: at bleep bleep random thoughts. Let's do it. Let's do it,
- 25:23Speaker 1: pleased and confused random thoughts. This is a part of
- 25:28Speaker 1: the show where we talk about what we thought about
- 25:30Speaker 1: during the week. And uh, I have a couple of
- 25:32Speaker 1: things I would like you read. To read the first one, yes,
- 25:35Speaker 1: where I read his random thoughts? Yeah, why was former
- 25:39Speaker 1: president and CEO and led led? You've never heard of
- 25:45Speaker 1: the word lead and led? He led the company? Yeah?
- 25:49Speaker 1: Why is it? And though there's so many ants, why
- 25:51Speaker 1: was former president and CEO and led the company? I
- 25:55Speaker 1: didn't screw that up anyway. Yeah, make me read your thoughts.
- 26:00Speaker 1: It don't make any sense. Uh wow, I was former
- 26:03Speaker 1: president and CEO who led the company for more than
- 26:07Speaker 1: fifty five years, passed away at the age of eighty eight.
- 26:13Speaker 2: That's not the funny part they read. Read the funny part.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I was laughing because I just read. His name was
- 26:18Speaker 2: dick Wood junior man, No, that was his name.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, dick Wood Junior imagine being in school with that name.
- 26:27Speaker 1: So his name obviously was like really Richard, right, probably
- 26:31Speaker 1: either way, that's just child abuse. Yeah, your last name's
- 26:34Speaker 1: would Why on earth would you name your kid Richard?
- 26:37Speaker 1: Come on here, come on? Yeah, with his middle name Stiffy? Oh,
- 26:44Speaker 1: Richard Richard Stiffy. Are you is that true? Yeah? It's true?
- 26:49Speaker 1: Are you sure? Yeah? It was news today? I saw
- 26:52Speaker 1: Is it really? Yeah? Wait? I got it? So he's
- 26:54Speaker 1: the founder, he's the founder? Yeah? Or a former president
- 26:58Speaker 1: and ceo? Oh my god, hopefully is it flagged? It flagged? No,
- 27:04Speaker 1: but it's someboddy. You google it. Wahwah's former president at CEO,
- 27:08Speaker 1: Dick Wood Junior eight. I told you it's funnier singing
- 27:16Speaker 1: on the internet, right, dude? Do you don't have you
- 27:18Speaker 1: don't have wah wahs out in California?
- 27:20Speaker 5: No?
- 27:20Speaker 1: That's like a very much so East Coast thing, isn't it. No?
- 27:23Speaker 3: I miss them so much. I love wah Wah.
- 27:25Speaker 1: What do you Because you're from Jersey, So what do
- 27:26Speaker 1: you get when you come back? Do you go to
- 27:28Speaker 1: wah wah like all the time when you're here? Yeah?
- 27:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I love the the hot pretzels, the ones, that
- 27:35Speaker 3: are have like a sweet cream filling. Yeah, sing to
- 27:39Speaker 3: the bomb, get an mt O, sub get some like
- 27:41Speaker 3: turkey and provolone.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Hell yeah yeah, wowas my jam. You know, I saw
- 27:45Speaker 1: this thing. A kid was pissing his daughter dad off
- 27:48Speaker 1: while they were in the car, and the dad said,
- 27:49Speaker 1: keep it going. I'm gonna throw your Nintendo switch out
- 27:51Speaker 1: the window. And the kid said, no, you wouldn't and
- 27:53Speaker 1: he took it and he said he frisbeted out the window.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Sounds like I was gonna say, did you ever have
- 27:59Speaker 1: like any thing taken away from you that you really liked? Oh?
- 28:02Speaker 1: My god? Yeah, what would piss you off the most?
- 28:05Speaker 1: Like if you got in trouble? Did you get in?
- 28:06Speaker 1: I was a pretty good kid, Kevin. Were you like
- 28:08Speaker 1: a troublemaker growing up? Yeah?
- 28:10Speaker 3: I was horrible?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely horrible. No.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I got away with nothing. I got busted for every
- 28:15Speaker 3: bad thing that I did. My mom had me super young,
- 28:19Speaker 3: so we lived with my grandparents in Jersey and their
- 28:22Speaker 3: house was right next to a golf course. Yeah, and
- 28:25Speaker 3: I used to terrorize the golf course.
- 28:28Speaker 1: What'd you do?
- 28:29Speaker 3: I would draw dicks in the sand trap. I feel
- 28:35Speaker 3: bad now, but I like fucked the greens up and
- 28:39Speaker 3: there was this one maintenance guy. He was he was
- 28:42Speaker 3: like groundskeeper Willie. He was like always after me. He
- 28:45Speaker 3: had this golf cart that would ride around with his
- 28:47Speaker 3: two attack dogs, and he never caught me. And one
- 28:51Speaker 3: day my buddy and I went on the golf course
- 28:54Speaker 3: and we took all the scorecards out, ripped him in half,
- 28:57Speaker 3: took the pencils and started drawing dick's on the ball washer.
- 29:02Speaker 3: And then my buddy was like, dude, you should pissing it.
- 29:05Speaker 3: And I was like, yeah, I should.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Oh no.
- 29:08Speaker 3: And as I'm pissing in it, this guy in his
- 29:10Speaker 3: golf cart and attack dogs rush out from behind a
- 29:14Speaker 3: tree and it was like an It was like a
- 29:15Speaker 3: sting operation. Dude caught me with my dick in the
- 29:19Speaker 3: ball washer.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Oh no, wow, And that's a statement. What a statement
- 29:24Speaker 1: that is He caught me with my dick in the
- 29:27Speaker 1: ball washer. Yeah. How many people can say that you
- 29:29Speaker 1: should put that on your tombstone one day? And that
- 29:31Speaker 1: is what a statement that I wish I could say that.
- 29:35Speaker 1: That's really funny. Random thoughts. What else? This guy cut
- 29:38Speaker 1: off his dick and he used it to start a
- 29:40Speaker 1: fire in his neighbor's garage. How do you guys feel
- 29:42Speaker 1: about that? Pretty normal, pretty normal behavior. There's a lot
- 29:48Speaker 1: to take in there. Yeah, I remember, huh it was
- 29:53Speaker 1: on Oprah way back. Remember the woman that cut off
- 29:56Speaker 1: her husband's nags? Remember that bob It right?
- 30:00Speaker 5: Oh?
- 30:01Speaker 1: Was it? Yeah? Lorrain Irena Bobbitt. Yeah, oh, you remember
- 30:03Speaker 1: her name and everything. I remember that she was a
- 30:05Speaker 1: big topic in school at the lunch table. Was she really?
- 30:09Speaker 3: That dude became a porn star?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Afterwards?
- 30:10Speaker 3: They sewed his dick back on and he started doing porn.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Huh wow, how did that work?
- 30:15Speaker 3: Not?
- 30:16Speaker 1: Well?
- 30:20Speaker 3: You think you think they sewed this guy who is
- 30:22Speaker 3: dick back on? The dude that started the fire. Imagine
- 30:25Speaker 3: like his dick probably looked like you know, in like
- 30:28Speaker 3: after a rainstorm and the worms come out on the
- 30:30Speaker 3: sidewalk and then they got trapped and they the next
- 30:33Speaker 3: day they're all dried up and burnt. Like, sir, we
- 30:37Speaker 3: found your dick. I'm very sorry. Oh wow, you're right.
- 30:41Speaker 1: This is uh. I googled this story. First thing that
- 30:44Speaker 1: pops up USA today. Man cuts off genitals, uses them
- 30:48Speaker 1: to set fire. Police said, geez, wow, local boy, I
- 30:52Speaker 1: know he's from Indiana. All right man from Indiana was
- 30:55Speaker 1: charged with a felony after he was accused of cutting
- 30:58Speaker 1: off his genitals and using them to start a fire.
- 31:00Speaker 1: According to court documents, on May sixth, the man was
- 31:04Speaker 1: charged with arson after police say he cut off his penis,
- 31:07Speaker 1: doused it with gasoline, and lit it on fire in
- 31:10Speaker 1: the garage of his mother's house in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- 31:13Speaker 1: That's how you make a statement right there, while attempting.
- 31:17Speaker 1: While attending to the fire, the suspect's family told first
- 31:20Speaker 1: responders he was missing. Meanwhile, officers were attending to the suspect,
- 31:24Speaker 1: who said he had been stabbed in downtown Fort Wayne.
- 31:28Speaker 1: It wasn't until later.
- 31:29Speaker 2: After the suspect had been taken to the hospital, that
- 31:31Speaker 2: he admitted to police he had inflicted the wound on
- 31:35Speaker 2: himself and started the fire in the garage. Oh man,
- 31:40Speaker 2: his name is Christopher Peden, thirty six. He was arrested
- 31:45Speaker 2: in charge with arson in the case. Imagine his name
- 31:47Speaker 2: was Dick Wood too. That would have been funny.
- 31:50Speaker 1: He told police he used a kitchen knife to cut
- 31:53Speaker 1: off his genitals while he was in the garage before
- 31:55Speaker 1: he set it on fire and then left the scene.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Police say this keeps coding? What is just gonna end?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Police said they collected the remains of the red gasoline
- 32:05Speaker 1: container and four lighters, and documented a kitchen knife that
- 32:08Speaker 1: was found near the scene of the fire with blood.
- 32:12Speaker 1: He was being held on ten thousand dollars bond, according
- 32:14Speaker 1: to court. Thousand dollars. That's it, geez. I think there
- 32:18Speaker 1: should be more now. I mean, if you're gonna be
- 32:20Speaker 1: an arsonist, okay, but jeez, of all the things to
- 32:23Speaker 1: start the fire with.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Imagine if this guy makes bond and they're like, all right,
- 32:26Speaker 3: someone paid the ten gees, but listen, no more cutting
- 32:29Speaker 3: your penis of.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I also wonder, like what happens medically when you know
- 32:37Speaker 2: you like I don't want to think about it, But did
- 32:39Speaker 2: they really sew it back on?
- 32:41Speaker 1: Or like does it work without? Like obviously, should we
- 32:43Speaker 1: google it?
- 32:44Speaker 5: No?
- 32:44Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't. I don't google that.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Probably for the best, certain things shouldn't be googled. Yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 2: that's one of them. You're lost.
- 32:51Speaker 1: They probably are too. They'll blazed and confused. Podcast trivia time.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Want me to go first? No, I want to go
- 32:59Speaker 1: fire it alright? Question number one? All right, let's start
- 33:04Speaker 1: with sports, shall we sports? Okay? Sports?
- 33:10Speaker 2: What pictures struck out more batters than any other in
- 33:15Speaker 2: Major League Baseball history?
- 33:20Speaker 1: Is it somebody from back in the day? I really
- 33:23Speaker 1: don't know. Let me google. Google's getting no workout today? Man,
- 33:28Speaker 1: did he play for the Phillies? I don't know. I
- 33:31Speaker 1: wish I could tell you.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Now you assumed it was a he y?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry about that. Yeah? What picture struck out more
- 33:38Speaker 1: batters than any other in Major League Baseball history? I'm
- 33:41Speaker 1: gonna go with Mike Schmidt. I'm just taking a guest,
- 33:44Speaker 1: Mike Schmidt.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Is that a real name?
- 33:47Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, he played on the Phillies.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Yeah, like back in the back in the day, like
- 33:50Speaker 2: the eighties Phillies, Right, Mike Schmidt?
- 33:53Speaker 1: Final answer, I'm wrong? Right? Yeah? What is it?
- 33:55Speaker 5: Who?
- 33:55Speaker 1: Correct answer with five and fourteen strikeouts? Is Nolan Ryan?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Whoever he is? I don't who's who he is? Who's he?
- 34:08Speaker 1: Don't ask me what team he played on? Dot's me either.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I have no idea how long ago? Hopefully that's correct
- 34:15Speaker 1: according to the trivia book that I bought on Amazon.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Nolan Ryan? All right, yeah, we all learned something. Question two.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I could give you a real easy TV question if
- 34:26Speaker 1: you want. All right, what are the other categories that
- 34:30Speaker 1: you have for me? I have a bunch. All right,
- 34:32Speaker 1: Well you get four questions, so I do. People. It's
- 34:35Speaker 1: a little easy TV TV. We'll do t This is
- 34:42Speaker 1: way too easy, though, but I'll give it to you.
- 34:44Speaker 1: On the classic TV show Friends, what's the name of
- 34:48Speaker 1: the character played by Matthew Perry? Oh? The last name?
- 34:52Speaker 2: Sorry, the last name of the character played by Matthew Perry,
- 34:56Speaker 2: bing right, bing bing.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I've never really watched that show. I mean, I've
- 35:03Speaker 1: seen episodes of that show, but I'm not one of
- 35:05Speaker 1: those people that can sit there and watch it for
- 35:06Speaker 1: a while.
- 35:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I tried with it. I don't know. Yeah, Kevin, you
- 35:10Speaker 1: like Friends?
- 35:11Speaker 3: Not really? No, that wasn't one of my shows.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Pretty lame, it is kind of and so it just
- 35:16Speaker 1: gets old. I was a Seinfeld guy.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I'm getting in more to Seinfeld the older I get good.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I've also recently character development as I've been unemployed. You're
- 35:26Speaker 2: gonna be proud of me.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I've been starting to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fantastic News
- 35:30Speaker 1: it is. It's very good. It's very good from the
- 35:33Speaker 1: very beginning. Yeah, yeah, I think the first season was
- 35:37Speaker 1: like completely unscripted, right.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I've always heard that the whole damn thing is pretty
- 35:41Speaker 3: much unscripted.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Huh, maybe there's like a concept and they're like, you know,
- 35:45Speaker 1: just or like loosely scripted. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I like Curb Curbs.
- 35:49Speaker 3: I'm glad man. Yeah, do you watch that Curb I've
- 35:53Speaker 3: I've seen episodes here and there. I've been I've gotten
- 35:57Speaker 3: it through osmosis with other people putting it on.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of my favorite shows. I'm glad you're
- 36:02Speaker 1: watching it. I can't wait to talk to you about it. Actually,
- 36:05Speaker 1: see but that's just it though, And everybody I say
- 36:08Speaker 1: this too, they say the same thing. Oh wow, Like
- 36:10Speaker 1: we just wait because you know, then we can talk
- 36:11Speaker 1: about it.
- 36:11Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, but what's there to talk I still
- 36:13Speaker 2: can't recite the episodes to you.
- 36:15Speaker 1: They're not like you don't need to do that anyway.
- 36:18Speaker 1: It's just one of my favorite shows. I like to
- 36:20Speaker 1: talk about it. Good. I look forward to doing that
- 36:23Speaker 1: with you. It's gonna be wonderful, isn't it such a
- 36:30Speaker 1: great friend? All right, let's go with I do a
- 36:34Speaker 1: normal friend thing. Alcohol?
- 36:38Speaker 2: All right, what cocktail becomes a gibson when a miniature
- 36:43Speaker 2: pickled onion is swapped for the olive. Oh, I'm pretty
- 36:53Speaker 2: sure it's Martini, right, Martini? Yeah, Martini The final answer.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Read it again.
- 37:04Speaker 1: What cocktail becomes a gibson when a miniature pickled onion
- 37:09Speaker 1: is swapped for the olive? Yeah, Martini Martin final answer.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Yeah you like olives? No, I think they're disgusting. I
- 37:20Speaker 1: don't even think I've ever really tried to eat an olive.
- 37:22Speaker 1: They just creeped me out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's one
- 37:26Speaker 1: time I ordered a taco salad and I just told
- 37:28Speaker 1: them exactly I wanted to like the Americanized version of
- 37:30Speaker 1: a taco salad. I want sour cream, let cheese, meat
- 37:33Speaker 1: and cheese. Yeah, And they brought this thing out. I
- 37:37Speaker 1: had all kinds of wacky shit in it, including olives,
- 37:39Speaker 1: and I was so pissed off about it. See olives
- 37:42Speaker 1: on a taco That seems wrong. Taco salad. Yeah, either way, tacos.
- 37:47Speaker 1: My niece eats that ship up like it's nothing. She
- 37:50Speaker 1: just gets jars of him, and she loves olives. The
- 37:52Speaker 1: people that like olives really like them, I don't know.
- 37:55Speaker 1: And and Riveting Content. We were talking about about other
- 37:58Speaker 1: radio shows. We are talking about our favorite foods. It's
- 38:02Speaker 1: not olives. It's not olives. Olives a fucking yuck? What
- 38:06Speaker 1: else you got? And a martini too? It's just all
- 38:08Speaker 1: it is is olives and vodka. Well, yuck? Why fuck
- 38:12Speaker 1: up vodka? You know vodka is fine on its own.
- 38:15Speaker 5: Question.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Four movies movies? All right, what was the movie in
- 38:20Speaker 1: nineteen ninety two that Quentin Tarantino made his debut as
- 38:25Speaker 1: movie director. I'm gonna go to Kevin as my lifeline
- 38:29Speaker 1: because he works in the biz. Kevin, you know that
- 38:31Speaker 1: I know the answer. We're good.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Reservoir Dogs.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Reservoir Dogs. Yeah, I've never seen it? Very good?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Is it? Yes? Is that like one of those essential
- 38:40Speaker 1: ones that I should probably watch? I don't know, probably, right, Kevin,
- 38:44Speaker 1: I would say so, yeah, I mean I like pulp
- 38:46Speaker 1: fiction better. Isn't that like in the Reservoir Dogs, like
- 38:49Speaker 1: known for the f bombs they say fuck like all
- 38:53Speaker 1: the time. That's that movie.
- 38:55Speaker 3: That's every Tarantino movie.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, oh it is? Yeah, Okay, okay, no, maybe it
- 38:59Speaker 1: had a chance on maybe.
- 39:00Speaker 3: I think I think Wolf of Wall Street has the
- 39:03Speaker 3: current record for most most f bombs.
- 39:06Speaker 1: What's Reservoir Dogs about?
- 39:07Speaker 3: If you had to dumb it down, I mean it's
- 39:09Speaker 3: it's basically a heist gone wrong and they're they're hiding
- 39:13Speaker 3: out from the cops and one of them is a
- 39:15Speaker 3: narc So there's a lot of like distrust and uh
- 39:19Speaker 3: and people saying the F word.
- 39:21Speaker 1: All right, I think you'd like it sounds like something,
- 39:24Speaker 1: you know, another movie. I think you'd really like what
- 39:26Speaker 1: the Second Coming of John Cooper, which is out right now,
- 39:28Speaker 1: Kevin work people watch that movie.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you get that Son of a Bitch on Amazon, Prime, Fandango,
- 39:34Speaker 3: Google TV YouTube, check it out. Baby.
- 39:37Speaker 1: All right, ask me your ship. All right, here we go.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Question number one? How do you feel about time zones?
- 39:45Speaker 1: You know which one you're in now? Yeah? Eastern? Yeah,
- 39:48Speaker 1: there you go. Yes, not the question. But here's the question.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Colorado is in what time zone? Mountain? Right? I don't know. Uh,
- 40:00Speaker 1: I'm not gonna tell you. I mean, mountain would make
- 40:04Speaker 1: sense because there's like mountains in Colorado. Right. I know
- 40:08Speaker 1: that's not how it works, but that's the way my
- 40:10Speaker 1: brain thinks of it. So, Kevin, how are you on
- 40:12Speaker 1: time zones? Do you know what one you're in? He's
- 40:15Speaker 1: in the earth. Yeah, correct, wait times out earth. I'm
- 40:20Speaker 1: just yeah, it was fucking with them. Yeah, don't do that. Yeah,
- 40:24Speaker 1: Joe believes everything he hears. I think mountain, mountain. My answer,
- 40:31Speaker 1: you're gonna tell me I'm wrong. Look at you with
- 40:33Speaker 1: your douchey, loss murky face, you prick. I got it right,
- 40:37Speaker 1: Oh I did. I was just trying to get you.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Oh sorry, your face looks great. Thanks. Colorado in mountain
- 40:47Speaker 1: time because they have mountains, they have mountains. It makes sense.
- 40:50Speaker 2: You learn a lot educational podcasts we tell you every week.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Question too. All right, Pork, shall fish, and blood meats
- 41:03Speaker 1: are all foods that are not allowed in what kind
- 41:05Speaker 1: of diet?
- 41:07Speaker 3: Blood meats?
- 41:08Speaker 1: That's so metal? That's a good. Yeah, it's really good.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Band name. Pork, shellfish, and blood meats are all foods
- 41:17Speaker 1: that are not allowed in what kind of diet? Man?
- 41:19Speaker 2: I could say vegetarian and demand that you give it
- 41:22Speaker 2: to me, because well, yeah, vegetarian. Yeah, see, thank you
- 41:29Speaker 2: very much, thank you vegetarian.
- 41:31Speaker 1: It's not entirely accurate, but it's not the answer I
- 41:36Speaker 1: have though.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Piscatarian. Erm isn't that like a piscatarian? Is that one
- 41:51Speaker 4: of those palveetarian.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Some Mianitarian is making up onetarians piscatarian. That sounds kind
- 42:03Speaker 1: of right, doesn't it. What's the question again? Read it? Pork, shellfish,
- 42:07Speaker 1: and blood meats are all foods that are not allowed
- 42:10Speaker 1: in what kind of diet? Yeah? What's a pescatarian?
- 42:16Speaker 3: Don't eat fish?
- 42:17Speaker 1: Right? They don't eat fish? Oh they only eat fish?
- 42:23Speaker 1: Oh they only eat fish?
- 42:24Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, pescatarian. The only meat
- 42:27Speaker 3: they eat will be fish.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Fish. Fish should be considered a meat. I always thought
- 42:35Speaker 1: I always thought it was. It just makes sense there,
- 42:37Speaker 1: It's not why does fish get a free past? People like, Oh,
- 42:39Speaker 1: I'm a vegetarian, but I still eat fish. Pork, shellfish,
- 42:44Speaker 1: and blood meats are all foods that are not allowed
- 42:46Speaker 1: on what kind of diet? Yeah I'm a vegetarian. No,
- 42:53Speaker 1: well sort of though, but I think you're right a
- 42:55Speaker 1: little bit. But it's a kosher diet, oh kosher, kosher?
- 43:00Speaker 1: Oh blood wrints? So what's the difference between blood red?
- 43:04Speaker 1: And you have to look it up. There's a whole
- 43:05Speaker 1: explanation about it earlier. But kosher stuff is like labeled
- 43:09Speaker 1: though when you go to the grocery store. A lot
- 43:11Speaker 1: of that stuff is labeled ta all about how it's
- 43:13Speaker 1: handled and like, yeah, what they do within, how they
- 43:16Speaker 1: how they do it, and what they do with it,
- 43:17Speaker 1: how they touch the meat. Yeah, pretty much. You can
- 43:22Speaker 1: only watch five videos a day. They fixed it, thank
- 43:25Speaker 1: you very much, Porno. Finally, question too, This one's about
- 43:31Speaker 1: the body. All right, my videos today. The gall bladder
- 43:37Speaker 1: the wrong body part. The gall bladder stores which substance
- 43:41Speaker 1: from the from the liver? Ah ship, It's like ball
- 43:45Speaker 1: or something. It's come no, no ball, bow bow bali bali.
- 43:55Speaker 1: It's something like that. Dude. It's like on the tip
- 43:57Speaker 1: of my tongue. It's like it's like some weird word
- 44:03Speaker 1: or like pool. Uh. I really don't know. Do you
- 44:10Speaker 1: think the substance might be called balie crying? Isn't that
- 44:15Speaker 1: a place? Yeah, it's like an island or some ship. Anyway,
- 44:23Speaker 1: The gall bladder stores which substance from the liver? It's balie.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Let's tell your final answer. Shut up vall ball No,
- 44:38Speaker 1: I swear it's something like that, though I'll tell you
- 44:40Speaker 1: it's not. It's not ball or bali. All right, I
- 44:50Speaker 1: got it wrong, Make me laugh, sord tell me. You
- 44:54Speaker 1: still have Kevin as a lifelike. Yeah, I don't know, Kevin,
- 44:56Speaker 1: do you have any what are you thinking of?
- 44:58Speaker 3: Bile file?
- 45:00Speaker 1: That's it? Yeah, Kevin knew it.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Oh see, that's actually.
- 45:05Speaker 1: It right, Kevin got it right. Yeah, but I all right,
- 45:07Speaker 1: well I'm using my lifeline. No, you already guessed and
- 45:09Speaker 1: you did the buzzer earlier. Guess I just got frustrated
- 45:12Speaker 1: and told you I was wrong. But now he confirmed that.
- 45:14Speaker 1: What did I tell you? I told you it was
- 45:15Speaker 1: something like ball was something that he tested. It was
- 45:19Speaker 1: what is it again, bile? Yeah?
- 45:21Speaker 3: That was that was an Alu joel. I wouldn't have
- 45:23Speaker 3: gotten that without you.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Thank you by the bally helped
- 45:30Speaker 1: and what's it called? Bile? Bile? Bile? See, yeah, you
- 45:35Speaker 1: got it wrong. Story in my life close but not
- 45:38Speaker 1: quite there? Oh God? Question for in what year did
- 45:43Speaker 1: man first step on the moon? Oh? Nineteen sixteen nine
- 45:49Speaker 1: nine nineteen. Final answer, Yeah, you are right. Uh see, yeah,
- 45:56Speaker 1: everybody knows that it was a big year. Summer is
- 45:59Speaker 1: sixteen on Woodstock, Woodstock the moon plus it's the number
- 46:03Speaker 1: sixty nine. How could you forget that? People Woodstock felt
- 46:05Speaker 1: like they were on the moon and they were sixty
- 46:07Speaker 1: nine y. Yeah, if I had to guess, probably probably right. Yeah,
- 46:12Speaker 1: it's time for dude, I forgot the snacks. Yeah, bringing
- 46:20Speaker 1: a snack. That's all right. I could run upstairs and
- 46:22Speaker 1: get a snack, but I'm not head off today. And
- 46:24Speaker 1: I got that's right.
- 46:25Speaker 2: It's we were called on Monday and he's back to
- 46:27Speaker 2: his taking a Yeah, Kevin, listening to this, This dude
- 46:30Speaker 2: takes off from his instead of taking off, you know,
- 46:32Speaker 2: one week out of the year like a normal human being,
- 46:35Speaker 2: he saves up all his time till the end of
- 46:37Speaker 2: the year, and then he takes off every Monday until
- 46:39Speaker 2: the end of the year.
- 46:39Speaker 1: It's not entirely starting right around now or so July,
- 46:44Speaker 1: so then he only works four days a week. We
- 46:45Speaker 1: were on the phone last week. He goes, what are
- 46:47Speaker 1: you doing? What do you got going on? I'm like, oh,
- 46:48Speaker 1: I have off of money. He's like, of course you do.
- 46:50Speaker 1: It's you know July or whatever. I'm like, you said, oh, yeah,
- 46:53Speaker 1: that's right. Strategic use of my time. It's douchey use
- 46:57Speaker 1: of your time off.
- 46:57Speaker 3: No, so wait, you're you're not working any Monday until
- 47:00Speaker 3: twenty twenty seven.
- 47:01Speaker 1: No, he's lying. He's just exaggerating. I mean, but he's
- 47:04Speaker 1: an exaggerating practically, Joel the exaggerator. It could even be
- 47:08Speaker 1: like every other Monday at this point. Okay, it could be.
- 47:11Speaker 1: But it's nice. I'm taking time off in July. I'm
- 47:14Speaker 1: going to the beach and stuff, and then like I'm
- 47:16Speaker 1: gonna take off again in October around Halloween time, and
- 47:19Speaker 1: then I'll take the rest off in December. Mondays, Yeah,
- 47:22Speaker 1: definitely Mondays and Fridays. It makes the most sense. You
- 47:25Speaker 1: get four day weekends. Why the fuck wouldn't you. Why
- 47:27Speaker 1: don't you just take a week off. No, well, if
- 47:30Speaker 1: I'm going to go on vacation, like I'll go away. Yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: but think about it. I could go away for five
- 47:34Speaker 1: days and just use Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I know,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I get it, I get it. I get it. So
- 47:40Speaker 1: economical use of my time off, you know. I just
- 47:42Speaker 1: I used to used to like you like to bitch
- 47:45Speaker 1: about me back in the day. Let me bitch about
- 47:47Speaker 1: you back in the day. You used to leave me
- 47:49Speaker 1: high and drive for every fucking Monday of the fall season.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Fall fuck, because I like the full foliage. I want
- 47:56Speaker 1: to go out and see the fall full fuck off.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Look at you now, yeah, look at me now, you
- 48:02Speaker 1: zoned in your house doing a show. It's pretty good
- 48:04Speaker 1: and we've done fifty fifty eight of these. Wow shit,
- 48:08Speaker 1: Kevin Kraft, tell us again about this movie where people
- 48:12Speaker 1: can find it? And what else you got going on?
- 48:14Speaker 1: Are you're working on something new?
- 48:15Speaker 3: I mean, if you are listening to this podcast, you
- 48:18Speaker 3: clearly like stone re humor and The Second Coming of
- 48:21Speaker 3: John Cooper is an R rated stoner comedy. It's got
- 48:25Speaker 3: that vibe of like throwback late nineties, early two thousands
- 48:28Speaker 3: R rated comedies. They don't really make it anymore. And
- 48:31Speaker 3: it's an original idea. It's not Moana being made for
- 48:35Speaker 3: the third goddamn time. So if you want to support
- 48:39Speaker 3: independent film and somebody trying to do something new, please
- 48:43Speaker 3: rent The Second Coming of John Cooper. It's available on
- 48:46Speaker 3: Prime and Google TV, Fandango YouTube for all the Canadians.
- 48:50Speaker 3: And I think you're gonna like it.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Wait, I'll watch it. I'm excited to watch it again. Yeah.
- 48:56Speaker 1: And what else are you working on anything else? Right now?
- 48:59Speaker 3: I mean some stuff And it's it's kind of just
- 49:02Speaker 3: it's this weird limbo for when a movie comes out, like,
- 49:05Speaker 3: especially your first one. The way you get more work
- 49:08Speaker 3: is people headhunting you.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 3: So I can't even just go out and like, hey,
- 49:13Speaker 3: hire me for shit. I kind of just have to
- 49:15Speaker 3: sit on my hands and Nope. The right person sees
- 49:18Speaker 3: the movie and it's like, oh, that was cool, let's
- 49:20Speaker 3: see what this guy's doing.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 49:21Speaker 3: So in the meantime, I'm just working on other screenplays.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I do my podcast. Yeah, plug your podcast please. Yeah,
- 49:29Speaker 3: Mad Scientists Party Hour, do it once a week, doing
- 49:32Speaker 3: it for fifteen years, and uh, you know, very very
- 49:36Speaker 3: similar to you guys. You know, just a bunch of
- 49:38Speaker 3: dudes shooting the shit. It's the one narc one narc
- 49:41Speaker 3: that's not smoking weed.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Eating your oats and your seeds, whatever the hell's going
- 49:46Speaker 1: on over there.
- 49:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:47Speaker 3: They pat me down every week to make sure I'm
- 49:49Speaker 3: not wearing a wire.
- 49:51Speaker 5: No.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny you bring up eating the seeds because
- 49:53Speaker 1: I keep getting ticking. Shut up, you don't laugh at me.
- 49:59Speaker 2: I keep getting TikTok's about if you want to lose
- 50:01Speaker 2: the stubborn belly fat that you got to eat chia seeds.
- 50:05Speaker 1: You know about this?
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I put.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Those stupid fucking things in my yogurt see see see,
- 50:10Speaker 1: So what's the idea with that? It just makes you
- 50:11Speaker 1: shit your brains out and then you lose weight. Yeah.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Eh, all the fiber in it makes you like powerpoo
- 50:17Speaker 3: in the morning every day, become very regular.
- 50:22Speaker 1: You know. I don't even need like help doing that.
- 50:24Speaker 1: I don't even need assistance doing that. So I feel
- 50:27Speaker 1: like the chia seeds would just make it overkill. Should
- 50:29Speaker 1: I stop talking?
- 50:30Speaker 2: Though?
- 50:30Speaker 1: I should probably stop talking. That's pretty foul. Should we
- 50:32Speaker 1: end the podcast? Sure? We shouldn't end it on that note.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Talk about something else quick. The second The Second Coming
- 50:38Speaker 1: of John Cooper. H please check out my friend's movie,
