Austin Smotherman wins in Utah for first PGA Tour title

Austin Smotherman is a winner on the PGA Tour for the first time in his 100th career start. Smotherman stretched his lead to three shots on the front nine and appeared to be cruising in the Bank of Utah Championship. But then a plugged lie led to a double bogey on the 13th hole. Smotherman answered with two great shots to 6 feet. He missed those putts but made a 12-footer on the 16th hole to finish at 68. He won by two shots over Doug Ghim. Smotherman's victory gives him a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour.
