- 0:00Speaker 1: Time nowt for we're back to the basics and healthcare
- 0:02Speaker 1: with balanced life chiropractic. We have doctor Harley joining us.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey doing doctor Harley.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, Good morning John. I'm doing great. It feels like
- 0:08Speaker 2: we're in the tropics today.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I know it's like a heat wave. It's above zero,
- 0:12Speaker 1: but yeah, it does feel warm for us because now
- 0:14Speaker 1: we've been you know, twenty thirty below zero. Now it's
- 0:18Speaker 1: above which is nice. We've talked about so many things
- 0:21Speaker 1: over the last couple of years. We've done this program
- 0:23Speaker 1: each Wednesday for I don't know, two years, going on
- 0:25Speaker 1: three years. How long have you been open?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Almost four? I think three and a half.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I think yeah, so I think that we've been doing
- 0:30Speaker 1: this like three years. But just because we've been talking
- 0:34Speaker 1: that long doesn't mean everybody has heard every one of
- 0:36Speaker 1: the programs. So let's kind of just briefly talk about
- 0:39Speaker 1: chiropractic in general. So if there's somebody listening but they
- 0:42Speaker 1: hear us talk about this, but about that, let's just
- 0:44Speaker 1: kind of start from the beginning. And if I'm not
- 0:46Speaker 1: super familiar with chiropractic, what, first of all, how do
- 0:50Speaker 1: you even describe what that is? Right?
- 0:51Speaker 2: That's a great question, and we've gone over so many
- 0:54Speaker 2: different topics over the years, you know, maybe repeated a
- 0:56Speaker 2: few things, but it always comes down to chiropractic can
- 0:59Speaker 2: help with a lot of different things. And maybe you're
- 1:02Speaker 2: waking up this morning and you're feeling sore and achy,
- 1:04Speaker 2: all that's snow moving. This is a great time to
- 1:07Speaker 2: start looking into chiropractic if you've never been or it's
- 1:09Speaker 2: been a while. You know, the New year's always a
- 1:11Speaker 2: good time. Your insurance is always you know, returns like
- 1:15Speaker 2: your copays and stuff of reset, so you've got some
- 1:17Speaker 2: benefits you can use. So if you didn't know that,
- 1:19Speaker 2: chiropractic can be covered by your insurance based on you know,
- 1:23Speaker 2: where you're at and care and all these different factors.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So it really just starts with reaching out to a
- 1:27Speaker 2: chiropractor and getting set for a new patient appointment. Now
- 1:31Speaker 2: every chiropractic office is a little bit different, but our
- 1:34Speaker 2: office we really focus on trying to find the cause
- 1:37Speaker 2: of your problems. So we do a pretty thorough health
- 1:39Speaker 2: consultation because we want to understand, you know, what's going on,
- 1:42Speaker 2: how long these issues have been there. It's a little
- 1:44Speaker 2: bit slower process, but once we get through all of that,
- 1:47Speaker 2: then the ingustings a lot quicker.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And the thing that I would relate that to is
- 1:51Speaker 1: like when you go to a mechanic and you go,
- 1:53Speaker 1: it's making this weird noise. You know, they could just
- 1:55Speaker 1: start changing things, guessing well, maybe it's this or maybe
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's not, but some of them will look it up
- 2:00Speaker 1: to a machine and do diagnostics and figure out, oh, hey,
- 2:02Speaker 1: according to the machine, this is what the issue is.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And then they just fix that one thing, and then
- 2:08Speaker 1: your cars fixed a lot quicker. Right.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You could be quick chiropractic kind of to like that,
- 2:12Speaker 2: because we're trying to figure out where's the problem at
- 2:15Speaker 2: in your body as you're having pain somewhere, or you're
- 2:17Speaker 2: having stiffness or some issue some symptom. Now, we're not
- 2:21Speaker 2: just going to chase the symptom. We're gonna figure out
- 2:22Speaker 2: where's causing that problem to happen. It could be somewhere
- 2:25Speaker 2: completely unrelated to where you're feeling the pain at. So
- 2:28Speaker 2: that's why it's important for us to take the time
- 2:30Speaker 2: to figure out where that problem is before we start adjusting.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And what the adjusting is is we're working to realign
- 2:37Speaker 2: your spine, putting it back into where it should be
- 2:39Speaker 2: at versus it's shifted out of alignment. It's affecting the
- 2:43Speaker 2: muscles the nerves around it, and a lot of times
- 2:46Speaker 2: that's where you're noticing pain. So we're adjusting those areas
- 2:49Speaker 2: to help them move better. That's going to take the
- 2:51Speaker 2: tension off that section, and things are going to actually
- 2:54Speaker 2: start functioning better. You're gonna have less pain, you're gonna
- 2:56Speaker 2: have better mobility in the long runer, you're gonna have
- 2:59Speaker 2: better health and healing as well.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And one of the things that I really like is
- 3:03Speaker 1: we've been not only talking on the radio, but when
- 3:06Speaker 1: we come and visit with doctor Harley, we also get
- 3:08Speaker 1: adjusted and I've noticed a big difference. And it's it's
- 3:12Speaker 1: crazy to me how you know, it doesn't take a
- 3:14Speaker 1: long time. It's it's a little bit of an adjustment.
- 3:16Speaker 1: But then over the course of the next week, I
- 3:18Speaker 1: feel so much better. And there are times that we
- 3:21Speaker 1: have to miss an appointment for one reason or another,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, I can definitely tell I missed
- 3:25Speaker 1: an appointment.
- 3:26Speaker 2: When you're used to where your alignment should be at
- 3:29Speaker 2: in your body, like you start to learn what your
- 3:31Speaker 2: normal should be. So when things do shift out of alignment.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You can already identify Okay, this doesn't feel right, I
- 3:36Speaker 2: should probably get taken care of versus if you haven't
- 3:39Speaker 2: ever been adjusted, your body's used to where things are
- 3:41Speaker 2: at right now, so that's kind of the normal. I'm
- 3:44Speaker 2: using air quotes on the radio. Right. You can't see
- 3:47Speaker 2: my fingers, but you know, as you start getting adjusted,
- 3:50Speaker 2: things are going to feel different. You might feel worse
- 3:52Speaker 2: because your body's learning a new normal what it actually
- 3:55Speaker 2: should be at. We get our body gets comfortable where
- 3:57Speaker 2: things are, even if it's not worthy actually really need
- 4:00Speaker 2: to be or should be at.
- 4:01Speaker 1: If somebody listening has gone okay, I'm intrigued, I'd like
- 4:04Speaker 1: to know more about this. Tell me more. How do
- 4:06Speaker 1: they get a hold of you at Balanced Life Chiropractic.
- 4:08Speaker 1: What's the first step? Right?
