- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And I'm wondering if you are
- 0:43still attached to maybe guilt, shame or some kind of regrets
- 0:48from your past and that's. Because the.
- 0:51Client that this hypnosis session that you're about to
- 0:54listen to was based on was for a client that even though.
- 0:58The. Guilt and blame did not belong
- 1:01to them. They were still carrying it and
- 1:03it was related to suicides earlier on in their life and.
- 1:08They still felt. An element of blame and that's a
- 1:12natural part of the grief cycle. The grief process is what's
- 1:16called the stage of bargaining, where people think, should I or
- 1:20could I have done something different and therefore.
- 1:23Because there's a. Thought of, well, maybe I could
- 1:26have done something different that then creates this element
- 1:29of because I didn't, therefore I'm culpable.
- 1:32Now, that isn't true. Nobody has a time machine, and
- 1:34if people had a time machine, they would absolutely go back
- 1:37and do things differently. But we don't, and you know that.
- 1:42Element of feeling. Emotional pain linked to the
- 1:44past can be quite a heavy burden.
- 1:47So this hypnosis session uses elements of levels of
- 1:51disassociation. It also has a perspective of
- 1:55going back to the past, seeing things in a different way, but
- 1:59also something called acceptance and commitment therapy.
- 2:02And Stephen Hayes is probably the most famous, let's say
- 2:06therapist connected to act as it's known and it's.
- 2:10Uses a lot of. Very powerful metaphors, and one
- 2:12of my favorite metaphors that relates to acceptance and
- 2:15commitment therapy is this idea of being attached to something
- 2:19heavy like a boulder or a rock, and being tethered to it.
- 2:25And now you've got a dilemma. There's this whole future that
- 2:28you want, but now you have a choice.
- 2:30You can either let go of that burden and pursue these
- 2:34wonderful things in your future or not have those wonderful
- 2:37things and forever be tethered to this heavy burden.
- 2:41And what that does is it creates a binary framework to make a
- 2:45decision. So this particular client,
- 2:48imagine being attached to a huge boulder and also being attached
- 2:52to it by a cord. Now this utilizes 2 metaphors,
- 2:57cord cutting and the bolder, the acceptance and commitment
- 3:01therapy metaphor that represents the blame and the shame and the
- 3:05guilt of the past. So there's a lot going on here.
- 3:09Now, it's unlikely that you're listening to this and there's
- 3:11been a suicide in your life. What's highly likely is that
- 3:15there is something that's happened in your past that still
- 3:18makes you feel a certain way. That might be resentment, that
- 3:21might be anger, that might be something else.
- 3:24In which case I would encourage you to think very carefully as
- 3:27to what is the thing that you want to let go of before this
- 3:31hypnosis session starts. Therefore, by setting the
- 3:34intention, you're going to get so much more value from this
- 3:37particular session. And if you like the idea of a
- 3:40personalized session with me rather than just listening to
- 3:42these recordings, there will be a link in the description where
- 3:45you can schedule a completely free consultation call.
- 3:48We'll have a chat over Zoom. And it might be the case that I
- 3:50end up being your hypnotherapist.
- 3:52For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 3:55won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:34Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:46wonderful feeling of calm and relaxation, and as you exhale,
- 4:56feel a wonderful sense of release, as if any feelings of
- 5:07worries, stress or tension. Are starting to.
- 5:11Leave your body as you exhale, breathing in pure relaxation and
- 5:23exhaling tension, perhaps from around your forehead, your jaw,
- 5:31neck or shoulders, arms feeling limp and loose.
- 5:40And notice that the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you
- 5:46become, and the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 5:58As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens and I wonder
- 6:04if you could imagine a beautiful Meadow.
- 6:10Not just any Meadow, a kind of Meadow that is awe inspiring,
- 6:20beauty, natural, a place that feels safe, sacred and even
- 6:30timeless. Imagine being barefooted on that
- 6:36Meadow, feeling the grass this soft and real, grounding beneath
- 6:44your feet, and I wonder if you could imagine the smell of sweet
- 6:54scent of wildflowers there in the breeze.
- 7:02The air is fresh, pure and filled with maybe the subtle
- 7:09song of birds in the distance. And I want you to imagine that
- 7:17you are not alone. I want you to see a child.
- 7:24You'll know the age, and imagine holding that child's hand, and I
- 7:32want you to see that standing around you both are four Native
- 7:40American warriors, protectors of your spirit.
- 7:48Their faces are calm and strong, and they represent powerful
- 7:56resources, perhaps courage, honor, strength, or wisdom.
- 8:05They are protectors, and each one stands at a direction,
- 8:13north-south, east and West, forming a circle of protection
- 8:19around you. And then notice the innocence of
- 8:27that child. Maybe you see part of yourself
- 8:37in that child. Gentleness, pureness, innocence,
- 8:46vulnerability. And maybe that is a part of you.
- 8:54But. Experience the world before you
- 9:00ever started, carrying burdens that were never yours.
- 9:09And the protectors stand guard, ensuring that nothing harmful
- 9:14can enter this sacred space. And maybe you feel their energy
- 9:22surrounding you like a circle of light, a feeling of safety and
- 9:30belonging, a reminder that at some level you have always been
- 9:38protected, even when you didn't know it.
- 9:47And as you breathe in that sense of safety, you can begin to
- 9:53notice the way the sunlight dances on the field, the way the
- 10:00clouds drift slowly by. And with each breath, your body
- 10:08drifts deeper into calm, your mind deeper into peace, and your
- 10:19heart deeper into healing. And I want you to imagine
- 10:28somewhere not far away, and maybe still within that sacred
- 10:33circle, is a portal, a gateway to another place, another level
- 10:46of awareness. The small child stays in the
- 10:53circle, protected, but you find yourself walking through the
- 10:59portal and when you arrive at the other side.
- 11:05Imagine finding yourself in rural India.
- 11:13Perhaps you're in a mountainous part.
- 11:19Imagine you've been hiking or walking, maybe for days or
- 11:23weeks, until the air is cooler, thinner.
- 11:30As you keep climbing higher up in the mountains, feel yourself
- 11:37walking upwards, feeling your body growing lighter with each
- 11:43step, as though the higher you climb, the more the heavy
- 11:54energies of the past fall away behind you and far below.
- 12:06You can see the valleys, villages glowing with tiny
- 12:11lights like constellations on the earth.
- 12:18And just imagine hearing chanting or perhaps other sounds
- 12:27there in the wind, something that sounds part human, part
- 12:33divine. As you continue on your journey
- 12:41upwards, imagine seeing the small guest house, simple,
- 12:50beautiful and welcoming. And I want you to imagine the
- 12:58door opens and a woman with kind maternal eyes greets you.
- 13:07She welcomes you inside as though she has been expecting
- 13:11you, and you're struck by the warmth, the emotional warmth,
- 13:20but also the warmth of a nearby fire glowing.
- 13:27Feel the warmth on your skin and notice how the light flickers,
- 13:33filling the room. Maybe there's smells in this
- 13:39place that take you back to that feeling of being protected, safe
- 13:45and welcomed. And maybe you see it by the fire
- 13:53and feel completely safe and completely accepted.
- 14:04And as you gaze into the fire, I want you to imagine your mind
- 14:10takes you away, perhaps to a different place on the mountain,
- 14:21but a place in the daytime, an imaginary journey.
- 14:28And you find yourself there, on a mountainside, attached to a
- 14:38large boulder. It surfaces, rough, heavy,
- 14:46ancient. And you realize this boulder
- 14:52represents the burden that you've been carrying, perhaps
- 15:00echoes of guilt, false responsibilities, blame that was
- 15:06never justified. I want you to imagine just how
- 15:14heavy, perhaps even unmovable, this boulder is.
- 15:25And part of this boulder has already served you well,
- 15:32amplifying your kind hearted nature, honing a mission to help
- 15:43others. But imagine that this boulder,
- 15:53as predictable and familiar as it is, is now holding you back
- 16:05for a while. It helped you make sense of the
- 16:09senseless, helped you to feel control over the uncontrollable.
- 16:21But that boulder is not who you are.
- 16:26It was only something that you became attached to.
- 16:34And I want you to notice the boulder is tied to your waist
- 16:40with a thick rope. A rope of attachment woven from
- 16:48thoughts, like if only I should have done something, maybe I
- 16:55could have done more. And each strand of that rope
- 17:01formed from moments of compassion, misunderstood and
- 17:08misinterpreted as guilt. And as you look at that rope,
- 17:16you can feel fearless, sense that life beyond the rope is
- 17:25full of limitless potential and possibilities.
- 17:32But while you're attached to the rope and the boulder, you are
- 17:38tethered like a dog on a leash in a garden, limited by a
- 17:49certain radius. But I want you to feel now is
- 17:56the time to let go. And you don't need to understand
- 18:04everything to release it. You don't need to figure it out.
- 18:14You don't need to find meaning in pain to move on from that
- 18:22pain. Because healing isn't about
- 18:28figuring out the past. It's about freeing yourself to
- 18:35move forward, wiser, with more experience and even more
- 18:44compassion. And I want you to imagine that
- 18:55same woman that welcomed you in to her guest house now hands you
- 19:06a small ceremonial knife, a symbol of choice and freedom.
- 19:14Can imagine her looking directly into your eyes with love and
- 19:19certainty saying you are ready. She disappears and you're left
- 19:33with the boulder and the rope. With a choice, you can remain
- 19:40attached to the boulder and limited, still attached to
- 19:46guilt, blame, or responsibilities that were never
- 19:51yours. Or you can Cut the Rope, be
- 20:00untethered, and move forwards. So imagine lifting the knife and
- 20:09placing it against the rope. That tethers you to the boulder,
- 20:19and with one steady breath in and a deep exhale, you cut the
- 20:28cord. The rope falls away and the
- 20:39boulder begins to no longer be attached to you.
- 20:49I want you to imagine how liberated you feel going way
- 20:55beyond the radius where you were limited from before.
- 21:03As you walk away from the boulder, you realize it is now
- 21:09in your past and all of the resources are in your future.
- 21:18Feel your body become lighter, like a weight has been lifted
- 21:22from your shoulders. That your heart is becoming
- 21:27freer, your mind clearer because you are now untethered from your
- 21:36past, unbound from false responsibility, and released
- 21:44from the weight of guilt that was never yours to carry.
- 21:52Then you may even notice a smile of acceptance coming to your
- 22:00face, a sign of peace, of surrender, of knowing that you
- 22:06can finally just be. And from that mountainside, I
- 22:17want you to imagine seeing everything below valleys,
- 22:22rivers, clouds. And from this higher vantage
- 22:27point, imagine seeing your whole life, past, present and future,
- 22:37as part of a much bigger picture.
- 22:42As if every soul has its path and their choices were never
- 22:48yours to control. You were part of their story,
- 22:55but not the author of their endings.
- 23:01And so from this higher self perspective, I want you to send
- 23:07love to those that are no longer here.
- 23:14You are no longer tethered to them and they are no longer
- 23:18tethered to you. They are free.
- 23:23You are free and you feel perhaps somewhere, at some
- 23:34level, they receive it and they send love back to you.
- 23:42You can feel that love circle through time, reaching the small
- 23:48child in the Meadow, reassuring them that at no point were they
- 23:57ever to blame. They are safe and they are free
- 24:03and there is nothing left to figure out, only life left to
- 24:10live. And then imagine staring into a
- 24:16flickering fire, realizing that the boulder in the mountain was
- 24:24just a journey in your imagination.
- 24:28And as you leave that friendly guest house, walk back back
- 24:36through a portal, back to a sacred circle, and give that
- 24:42young child a hug. Tell them they are loved, that
- 24:45they are worthy and they are free.
- 24:48And now it's time to drift back to your present.
- 24:56Without the weight of the past and without any burdens.
- 25:02You will return liberated and free.
- 25:07So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:12nose. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle
- 25:15your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 25:17here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:24you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 25:32456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 25:37Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 25:42Wide awake. Wide awake.
