Transcript
- 0:00As you may have heard, there's a new US citizenship test in 2025.
- 0:07Here's what's changing. If you file on or after October
- 0:112025, you'll take the updated test.
- 0:15You now need to study 128 questions instead of 100 and
- 0:21answer 12 out of 20 correctly to pass.
- 0:25Just like before, it's an oral test with no multiple choice.
- 0:30New topics include the 10th Amendment, The Federalist
- 0:33Papers, and key figures like Alexander Hamilton.
- 0:38There is more to learn, so start preparing early.
- 0:42We will create content to prepare for this 2025 Civics
- 0:47test version soon. Hello everyone, the new version
- 0:55of the civics test is now a fact, and we must be ready for
- 0:59it. And yes, it is official.
- 1:03The USCIS announced it in a public notice and the list of
- 1:07questions is already on their website.
- 1:11This naturalization test change was expected for a while because
- 1:16of the Trump administration's focus on stricter immigration
- 1:20policies. I know this news can be very
- 1:24stressful, but please do not worry too much.
- 1:29So let's answer some common questions we have received from
- 1:33you. What is the citizenship update
- 1:38for 2025? This is a big change to the
- 1:44Civics test. If you file your form N400 on or
- 1:48after October 20th, 2025, you will take the new test.
- 1:53This Trump Citizenship Test 2025 version is a bit harder.
- 1:59It has 128 questions instead of 100.
- 2:03You will need to answer 12 out of 20 questions correctly to
- 2:07pass, but if you get 9 answers wrong, you will fail.
- 2:13My strong advice, if you can apply before October 20th,
- 2:17please do it. Are there other changes in the
- 2:22naturalization test? No, the English part remains the
- 2:30same. There are only changes in the
- 2:33Civics portion of the test, but it is probably that there will
- 2:37be other changes in the English portion too.
- 2:43What version of the test will I take?
- 2:48This is very important. It depends on when you apply.
- 2:52As I said, if you file your application before October 20th
- 2:572025, you will take the current easier test.
- 3:01If you file your application on or after October 20th, 2025, you
- 3:07must take the new test. What's on the new 2025
- 3:13citizenship test? There are 128 US citizenship
- 3:21test questions to study. Just like before, it's an oral
- 3:25test with no multiple choice. There are new topics like the
- 3:2910th Amendment, The Federalist Papers, and important people
- 3:34like Alexander Hamilton. Here are three questions and
- 3:38their answers so you can see what they are like. 37 The
- 3:43president of the United States can serve only two terms.
- 3:46Why? Because of the 22nd Amendment.
- 3:52To keep the president from becoming too powerful. 60 What
- 3:57is the purpose of the 10th Amendment?
- 4:00It states that the powers not given to the federal government
- 4:03belong to the states or to the people. 89 Alexander Hamilton is
- 4:09famous for many things. Name one First Secretary of the
- 4:15Treasury, one of the writers of The Federalist Papers, helped
- 4:19establish the First Bank of the United States Aid to General
- 4:24George Washington, member of the Continental Congress.
- 4:30We are preparing a full video with all 128 questions.
- 4:38Is the new test more difficult? The simple answer is yes.
- 4:45It is longer with 28 more questions to learn.
- 4:49The good news is the topics are similar, mostly American history
- 4:53and government, and you get a list of answers to study with
- 4:58the Citizen Now app. You can practice with quizzes
- 5:01and listen to them with the audio player feature.
- 5:05This will help you prepare. And the last question, what if I
- 5:12fail the test? The rule is the same as before.
- 5:18If you fail the English test or the civics test, USCIS will give
- 5:24you a second chance. They will schedule another
- 5:27interview for you between 60 and 90 days after your first one.
- 5:32You will only need to retake the part you failed.
- 5:36That is all for now. I know this is a lot of
- 5:40information, especially if you have to apply after mid-october.
- 5:44It can feel overwhelming but you are strong and you can do this.
- 5:50The most important thing is to practice.
