- 0:00Hi, everybody. Welcome to the One Small Change. I'm thrilled to
- 0:04embark on this journey with you of exploration and transformation.
- 0:07And I'm your host, Yvonne McCoy. And if you don't know, I have over
- 0:1130 years of entrepreneurial experience. But the big thing is I have
- 0:15a passion for discovering growth through the power of
- 0:19seemingly small change. And the reason I do this
- 0:22podcast every week is that I want to bring people to your world
- 0:26that. That are going to expand your world, give you ideas.
- 0:29And this week, we are talking with Gloria Rand,
- 0:33who will share some small, unexpected or
- 0:36insignificant thing that happened that makes her really good at what
- 0:40she does. Gloria, thank you so much for sharing your time with
- 0:44us and your. Your information. So tell everybody
- 0:48I didn't give you a chance to say hello, so I know that's okay. Well,
- 0:51thank you very much. I was just going to say thank you for having me.
- 0:55This is going to be good. It's going to be fun. So tell everybody what
- 0:59it is that you do and what happened to make you
- 1:03realize that this is the thing that you're really good at.
- 1:06Oh, goodness. So what I love to do
- 1:10and has become what I'm. I feel I'm very good
- 1:14at is working with women in midlife and
- 1:18helping them to design
- 1:22their life to. To the fullest, to be the way that they
- 1:25want to live it. And sometimes they need some
- 1:29extra confidence and clarity to get there. And I
- 1:33love doing that for women because it's something that I had to do for myself
- 1:37because I was not in a happy place and
- 1:41I needed to get my own life in order.
- 1:44And I have now, and it's so much better.
- 1:48And now I really love paying that forward and helping other women
- 1:52to really get clear on what is it about this stage of life
- 1:56that is. That's calling to them
- 2:00that they want to do now. Because a lot of times, you know, we put
- 2:03things on the back burner. You know, we get involved with, you know, maybe it
- 2:07is our business or something else, and we have those
- 2:10dreams maybe in our 20s that we've kind of forgotten
- 2:14or maybe we just need something new that's. And
- 2:18that's good, too. You know, just, I think.
- 2:22I mean, you and I are passionate about the same thing, and I
- 2:26think it's probably because we. You know, what I tell people
- 2:30is you are conditioned by the educational system
- 2:33and society to be a certain way, and typically,
- 2:37it just makes you average. Yeah. You
- 2:41know, and you're not excited about, you know, you can be
- 2:45happy or think you're happy because you haven't
- 2:48explored what else is out there or you haven't, you know, let loose.
- 2:52You know, for men they call it a midlife crisis.
- 2:56You know, I think for women it is
- 3:00like, there's got to be more. Yeah. You know, I was
- 3:04meant to be more. I didn't think I would be at this place, you
- 3:07know, and, you know, it just came to me. It's sort of like a, it's
- 3:11more of a mid, mid life awakening. And I almost
- 3:14said midwife, but that's, that's kind of works too, because you're birthing a new self.
- 3:18Absolutely. And I think, you know, and I think
- 3:22my perspective is a little bit different than yours in the sense
- 3:26that I have come to believe that we.
- 3:29I call it the third half of the third half of life,
- 3:33you know, because you had, you know, this whole thing where you, you know, and
- 3:37at 60, you're supposed to be done. Well, now I'm, you
- 3:41know, I'm like between 60 and 90.
- 3:45So I'm working on my third, my third, third half. Yeah.
- 3:49And, and, and so it's, you know, it's not like you sit down on a
- 3:53rocking chair when you're 60 and it's over. I mean, a lot of us are
- 3:56just starting to bloom in a whole different.
- 4:01Yeah, absolutely. And, and, you know, you're 100%
- 4:04correct. And it's, and it's weird that we, there's lots of evidence
- 4:08of people who are, are just starting, who just start to get into
- 4:12their prime in like their late 50s and 60s and, or
- 4:15are starting new businesses. There's plenty of evidence
- 4:19of that. And yet there's still this old mindset of like, oh,
- 4:23well, you're over the hill. And especially for women, you know, that we become
- 4:26invisible for some stupid reason. I'll
- 4:30just say it plainly. And this is
- 4:34the time of life when we've got even more to give because we've got all
- 4:37of this experience that we've had. Life experience, business
- 4:41experience, career, what have you. And this is the
- 4:44time when we really need to shine. And, and
- 4:48I think the thing that's so interesting is that I think.
- 4:53All right, so I grew up and I did not have a group of
- 4:57girlfriends. And I typically, I never have.
- 5:01And I am so envious of people who have. I mean, I have a couple
- 5:04friends that I've known for, you know, but I don't have a, a gaggle,
- 5:08you know, and I am really jealous of people
- 5:11who have this group of girlfriends and, you know, every year they go away
- 5:15for a week away from their husbands, you know, because I've never had that. Me
- 5:19too. And I find that so many of us, especially
- 5:23people who are in business, whether it's corporate or entrepreneurial,
- 5:27we're, we desire that
- 5:31core group that can mentor you through things
- 5:34and know that you can just talk about stuff with, you
- 5:38know, without having to be like, well, I shouldn't
- 5:42be this way. You know, I, I remember when I
- 5:45was doing executive coaching for executive women, I, and I called
- 5:49myself being all businessy. I decided to do a little survey afterwards and say,
- 5:53what did you, you know, what did you get out of this that you really
- 5:56liked? And inevitably it was a life experience
- 6:00thing. It was not a business thing. Oh yeah, I know. I
- 6:04was in, I was in a mastermind. Oh gosh,
- 6:08ten years ago now. And it was a year long program and
- 6:12at the end of the year long and it was supposed to be a business
- 6:15mastermind. Nearly everyone in there said what
- 6:18they got out of it was personal. Yeah. Yeah. It's amazing.
- 6:22And that's why I love running masterminds too, because, because of that.
- 6:26It's. You need camaraderie. You need to be able to have people
- 6:31bounce ideas off of. Yeah. So, so tell me, what do
- 6:34you see is the biggest,
- 6:38the biggest issue that makes women go,
- 6:43I'm, I'm searching for something else and what is their resistance
- 6:47to, to making that change? Well,
- 6:50I'll, I'll go with the second part first. It's, it's,
- 6:55it's fear and you know, fear of making a change because
- 6:59it's, it's, you know, having to step out and try something
- 7:03that's always a little uncomfortable and
- 7:07what triggers that. There's a lot of different things that happens.
- 7:11It can be, I mean, for, for me, in my case, it was losing my
- 7:14sister to cancer in the end of
- 7:182016. I can't believe it's going to be 10 years already now
- 7:22because she was that last lifeline to my family growing up.
- 7:26And so that really rocked my world. So it's, I think it is a
- 7:30lot of, sometimes it is things like, you know, becoming an empty nester.
- 7:33It's having, you know, maybe your relationship that
- 7:37you're in, you know, it could have been a long term relationship and now suddenly
- 7:40either you or the other person doesn't want it
- 7:44anymore. And so that can really rock your world. Or, you know, maybe if
- 7:47you are in the corporate scenario and you lose your job. I've talked to a
- 7:51lot of different women that have had to reinvent
- 7:55themselves, not necessarily because they wanted to, but because they
- 7:59had to. And so. And I think in that case
- 8:02especially, it can be. Be jarring, but I know.
- 8:06And again, going back for me, when you've had, like, a loss, it. It took
- 8:09me a long time to try to figure out
- 8:13what I wanted to do next. I knew I wanted to do something. I knew.
- 8:16I felt this calling to do something really significant.
- 8:20I mean, I loved what I was doing at the time. It was. I was
- 8:24writing content for small businesses, doing online marketing work, and it
- 8:27was great. But I felt like this inside of
- 8:31me. But I. It took a while. I had to get through the grieving process,
- 8:35frankly, and then do some inner work on myself
- 8:39to get to the point where I finally had, oh, okay, now I
- 8:43have that clarity. And then I gained some confidence working with other
- 8:46coaches to then be able to say, okay, yeah, this is what I want to
- 8:50do now. I. I think sometimes
- 8:55when you get out of your routine, whatever that
- 8:58routine is, and you get with other people or
- 9:02other circumstances, suddenly
- 9:06you see an ability that. That maybe. Maybe
- 9:09you've used, you know, but taken for granted, kind of.
- 9:13And, I mean, I remember one time I was. I was
- 9:17in a locker room and I was talking to somebody, and
- 9:21this lady came out of the other, and she goes, you have a
- 9:24great voice. Have you. You know, I run a
- 9:28recording studio. Have you ever thought about recording? And, you know,
- 9:31I was like, no. You know,
- 9:35and it was like, you know, but then you just kind of
- 9:39start to listen. Yeah. You know, and other people
- 9:43would come up and say, I love your voice, or something like that. And so
- 9:47just putting yourself, experimenting, being different places
- 9:50sometimes can be really an eye opener. It doesn't have to be,
- 9:54you know, I mean, the big things are going to happen and you have a
- 9:57choice. Right. But just kind of listening to the whisper
- 10:01sometimes. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Because you never know
- 10:05where you might get. You know, something
- 10:08just awakens in you. I mean, I went to a business conference.
- 10:15Well, it's been a while ago now, but I went to a business conference just
- 10:19expecting to be, you know, learn how to
- 10:22build my business better. And yet I had an extraordinary encounter
- 10:26listening to a presentation with a woman who channels something called
- 10:30light language. And I was sitting at this table, and all of a
- 10:34sudden I started crying. And I was like,
- 10:37what is going on? Why is this happening to me? And
- 10:41that just opened up a whole new world for me.
- 10:44And so you never know. But. But you're right. You need to put
- 10:48yourself in places where you can be exposed to
- 10:52new possibilities that you might not have even thought of.
- 10:56You know, one of the things, one of the things that I do every night
- 11:00is I go, tomorrow's a new day, and I'm open
- 11:04to endless possibilities. I like that. Right.
- 11:08Just because, you know, I read
- 11:11Shonda Rhimes had a book called the Year of Yes.
- 11:15I don't know if you know about that, but it's really amazing how many things
- 11:18we say no to in the course of our, you know. And, you know,
- 11:22something will come up. Do you want to do this? It's like, like, oh, I
- 11:25gotta do this. You know, and if you, if you, you know, make yourself
- 11:28say yes or at least consider it. Right. You know, you
- 11:32get to see how many things you're cutting yourself off of. And,
- 11:36and so this is what I,
- 11:39I think, this is what I wanna, I, I want to talk about. Because I
- 11:42think that women are amazing. I mean, I, when I first
- 11:46started coaching, I would say if, you know, if you can get a
- 11:50hot meal on the table and all the courses are on the table at the
- 11:53same time and they're hot, you can run a factory or the world.
- 11:57I mean, the first time my husband cooked, you know, he
- 12:00decided we were having a steak dinner and he cooked the steak and
- 12:04he was like, oh, I thought I wanted to have baked potatoes.
- 12:08This is like before the microwave. Right. So we ended up
- 12:12having kind of a three course year. You know, we had the steak, we
- 12:16had the vegetables, and then we ended with the potato. Right.
- 12:19Now my husband now is a fabulous cook and he. Things get to the.
- 12:23But, but, but, you know, that we can do that. Women
- 12:27historically task and men cannot. Yeah.
- 12:30As well. Let me not be, let me not be sexist. That's right.
- 12:36But the thing is, we are taught to be, you know,
- 12:39I think from the society. Yeah. We are taught
- 12:43to not put ourselves first, not, you know, toot
- 12:47our own horn, not do all these other things. And
- 12:52I have to say that I had an awareness this last month
- 12:56that just blew me away. And it was
- 13:00that when I thought back on all the places where I really felt
- 13:04like I was my best in a group or corporate
- 13:07situation, it got me in trouble.
- 13:12Not because what I was doing was wrong or wasn't
- 13:16useful, but because it threatened somebody else.
- 13:20You know, the, the thought process was, if she's doing all this,
- 13:24it couldn't possibly be for fun. It must be because she wants a
- 13:28promotion or she wants my job. And that just really blew
- 13:31me away. I mean, it was like that was never my, my thought. And
- 13:35there's so many things, so many things that, that tap us
- 13:38down. Right.
- 13:43So if, if somebody's listening to this, if I have an entrepreneur
- 13:46of a woman entrepreneur and
- 13:51she's thinking about designing her life,
- 13:55what are some of the things that she should think about?
- 13:59I would say, number one would be to
- 14:03do an inventory. Start with an inventory of
- 14:07what are all the different things that you like to do?
- 14:12Also what are the things that come easily to you?
- 14:15Because those could be possible avenues for
- 14:19you to maybe do something new about it.
- 14:23But I think it really starts with spending time and getting,
- 14:27getting to know yourself. And if you, if you haven't
- 14:30done any kind of regular practice where you're able
- 14:34to do that, to get in touch with your own inner
- 14:38wisdom, I would also recommend doing that, you know, whether that's meditating,
- 14:42whether that's journaling, but doing something to start
- 14:47really getting to, getting in touch with yourself and trying to figure out what it
- 14:51is that I really want at this stage of my life.
- 14:54And yeah, but I do think doing, doing
- 14:58some sort of like an inventory is a really good way, way to get started
- 15:02because then you're going to have something concrete on paper and if you get stuck,
- 15:06then ask somebody else, say, what am I good at?
- 15:11So, you know, so that one, one way to put that question is, why do
- 15:14you like me? Yes, yes. You know, I mean, we,
- 15:18we tend to fill certain roles. I'm, I'm the person. It's so funny because
- 15:22I, I took a, an assessment. I've taken
- 15:25many of them, but the latest one that I've taken was
- 15:30I was the activator, I was the people that keep, keep people on track.
- 15:33And I missed a meeting and I got an email that said,
- 15:37that said we got nothing done because you weren't
- 15:41there to reign us in. Oh,
- 15:45but, but another easy is, you know, especially
- 15:48if, if, you know, speaking is really important today and, you know,
- 15:52building your business because it builds trust a lot faster. Make
- 15:56a list of, you know, 10 things that you could talk 10 minutes on
- 15:59without notes. Right. Is really easy. And you
- 16:03would be surprised what you know a lot about. Do
- 16:07you know? Yeah, absolutely. And that's, that's one of the things that I, I teach.
- 16:11I have something that I call the love method. And, and love is an
- 16:14acronym. So V is value your uniqueness. And that's really what
- 16:18it is. It comes down to looking at. Yeah, what is it that's unique about
- 16:22me? And, but, and I, I love that question that you were,
- 16:26you were posing, you know, to ask other people yeah.
- 16:29What? Now, I don't even remember what you said, but I love how you
- 16:33phrased it. Why do you like working with. Oh, yeah. Why do you like working
- 16:36with me? Yeah. Yeah. That is a good question. So you
- 16:40say value your uniqueness. I say focus on your
- 16:43uniqueness. Because that's the thing. That's the thing
- 16:47that, you know, will take you from being just an expert in a
- 16:51field of experts to the expert in this particular thing.
- 16:55We all do. You know, the. The I. I give this example, the ice
- 16:58cube, you know, because I know when I started coaching and when in
- 17:02any business, you know, it was like, I teach, like
- 17:06the. The. The idea of change. Right.
- 17:10But so does everybody. So it's like, why would somebody come to
- 17:14me to learn about change when everybody. You know, but what I realized
- 17:17is change is the ice cube. It's always water
- 17:21and cold, right? Yeah. I'm the
- 17:25container. I'm the, you know, I'm the
- 17:28ice from the refrigerator or the silicone ice cube tray or
- 17:32the, you know, however the ice cube is shaped and
- 17:36formed. Yeah. So that you can use that information.
- 17:40And so my uniqueness is. I'm
- 17:44about you getting you into imperfect action as
- 17:47fast as possible. Right. And seeing why you do it,
- 17:51you know, seeing how. What it is about you that's different because
- 17:55people say these most. The most amazing things. And.
- 17:59And I'll go, do you know how
- 18:02amazing that is? And then they're like, doesn't everybody do this? Like, no,
- 18:07I know. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. We always have blinders on when we
- 18:10don't. We don't see our own stuff. And in fact, when I was writing that
- 18:14book, I realized that when I was. I had a.
- 18:17Handwritten it into a journal, and then I started typing it up. The value, your
- 18:21uniqueness part was what I have the least amount of copy on
- 18:24because I wasn't valuing myself enough yet. So.
- 18:28Yeah, I. Absolutely. So, well, tell us the other The.
- 18:32The Lord. Sure. Yes. Yeah. So. So the L
- 18:35stands for let go and let God. And that's really about, you know, letting go
- 18:39of limiting beliefs just. And. And putting your
- 18:43faith in higher power, whatever you want to call it. I call it
- 18:46God. I was raised Catholic. I'm still. Still, in a word,
- 18:50I'm. I'm used to the O is open your heart to receive.
- 18:55And that's really about being open to
- 18:59receiving everything from money to ideas to
- 19:04love, ultimately. And. And the E is embrace your
- 19:07divinity. And that's really about
- 19:11recognizing that you are an amazing person. And
- 19:14my belief is that we are all created in, you know, God's
- 19:18image and that we are all divine spiritual beings
- 19:22living a human existence. But, but if nothing else,
- 19:26if you're not spiritual or you could just say it's about self love,
- 19:29embracing yourself and just loving yourself. Well,
- 19:33I know, I know that I'm a very, you know, type
- 19:37A. I can be a type A personality. And, you know, as
- 19:40I looked at my own personal development, spirituality was
- 19:44something that I felt like
- 19:49was one of my weaker links, let's put it that way. And,
- 19:52and I had a friend, a neighbor, and she was like, no, it
- 19:56doesn't have to be like a religion. It doesn't know.
- 19:59Spirituality is just kind of connecting and being present,
- 20:03you know, having your feet in the grass. Yeah. Taking time and, you
- 20:07know, petting your dog, kissing your loved ones. You know, it's
- 20:10all part of. I was like, oh, I can do this. Yeah.
- 20:15Yeah, I can do this. Absolutely. I was listening to some
- 20:18interview yesterday or something about someone and they were saying that
- 20:22because they were. Yeah. Asking them about their relationship to. And it was
- 20:26like, nature is how, how they relate to,
- 20:30you know, God, but it's, it's nature. That's. That's what it is for them. So.
- 20:34Yeah, it sounds like you're kind of in a. In a similar, similar
- 20:37vein there. And that's not. There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah. And
- 20:41I think the other thing that you said that I think is
- 20:45so important. So there are a couple things I'm going to
- 20:49circle back a little bit. Yeah. Has to. When
- 20:52we talk about openness. So
- 20:56one of the things I think is staying
- 21:00relevant in our own life and what that means is that
- 21:03your goal when you're 20 could be very
- 21:07different than your goal, you know, especially the tactics.
- 21:11Yeah. You're 40 when you're 60, when you're whatever. Right.
- 21:16And so, you know, when you're looking at different things and what you want,
- 21:20it's not. It. It's not bad that you want something different.
- 21:24Right. You know, it's your 50s, then you want it when you were 30,
- 21:29you know that. So that took me a while to understand
- 21:32that. That life is a moving target. Right. If you're
- 21:36not. If you're not moving along and adjusting and
- 21:40stuff. Yeah. You're stagnating. You're going to get left behind. Yeah. You
- 21:43know, the other thing is something that
- 21:47happened to me that totally changed my life
- 21:52was the idea of judgment
- 21:56versus curiosity. And it's funny because it came
- 22:00from two. Two places at the same time. One it came from
- 22:04Ted Lasso, and the other
- 22:07came from positive thinking. So the idea is that we tend
- 22:11to, you know, be in a rut kind of the way we think. Like, you
- 22:15think this way. Yeah. If you can stop that
- 22:19and go, can I be curious about this? Instead of being like, I
- 22:22always do it this way and being jud. And it has changed
- 22:28everything in my life. I mean, I. You know,
- 22:31I go, when? Because I'm like, one of these people. I. You know, because I
- 22:35want first action. I realize that sometimes that means I put blinders
- 22:38on because I want to, you know. Yeah. And so being
- 22:42able to say, wait, let me slow down and be a little bit
- 22:46more curious. What are the other options that could be here?
- 22:49What else is going on? And. And I have to tell you,
- 22:54I've been married to my husband for over 50 years, and this
- 22:57changed our relationship. That's awesome.
- 23:01Congrats. Yeah. You know, it's like. Because he is
- 23:04one of the most curious people I have ever met in the world. I mean,
- 23:08he's like a Renaissance man. I mean, he's, you know, he. He's eclectic with
- 23:12his music and stuff like that. And I'm like, honey, can.
- 23:16And just, you know, I mean, I'll get out of the car and head for
- 23:19the door, and he'll go, honey, you didn't take time to look at the plants
- 23:22I put out. And I'm like, you know, come on, can we wrap? I gotta
- 23:26go. So. So I
- 23:29think that's part of it, is that there are so
- 23:33many. So many demands on our time. And so as we get a little bit
- 23:37older, I think, and as things happen, we have the
- 23:40space to actually be more curious and
- 23:44to explore and to look at things. If
- 23:48we realize that there's a benefit to it, if we say to ourselves,
- 23:52this is something that's really worth doing, it will enhance my life.
- 23:56All right. Yeah. This is not about me, but I'm enjoying this, and I'm
- 24:00getting a lot out of it. Sorry. What are three things
- 24:04that you think entrepreneurs can do, especially women
- 24:07entrepreneurs? Well, to.
- 24:13To enhance their businesses, to enhance their
- 24:16life, or. Well, all of the above or just what? All of the above.
- 24:20Because you know what? I just was. I was just in a summit that was
- 24:23called the 24 7. You. You are. If you're an
- 24:27entrepreneur, you think about. I. I said the one hour. I have a Pilates a
- 24:31week is the one hour I'm not thinking about business otherwise,
- 24:34you know, though, because. And I think my idea is
- 24:38that if you have A principle or a model that you use, you should be
- 24:42able to use it in your personal and your professional life
- 24:45because you get stronger at it. You don't have to have two different models, you
- 24:49know, for. Yeah, absolutely. All right, well, I
- 24:53already, I already, I think I said, said the one
- 24:57is, is to really get to know yourself. That, that would
- 25:00be. That's, that's one of them. And the way you can do
- 25:04that for the second one is to follow the love method
- 25:08and unpack that so, so you could get my book and learn more,
- 25:11more about that. And then the third, which in
- 25:15a way you might want to do first, is I actually have a
- 25:19free quiz on my website that
- 25:22allows you to be able to uncover your
- 25:26particular personal power archetype as a midlife
- 25:30entrepreneur. And, and there's, there's, there'll be four different
- 25:34archetypes. And, and of course, they're based around the love method, so,
- 25:37so it'll be able to tell you what some of your strengths are and, you
- 25:41know, maybe some areas that you might want to improve,
- 25:44we'll just say, you know, improve upon because we always, we all need to learn
- 25:48and grow and, you know, we're not, we're not perfect. We're works in progress.
- 25:52And that's a good thing because otherwise we'd be pretty boring if we were just
- 25:56stuck. And that's it. I'm. I'm done. So I, I have to
- 26:00ask the question, since I'm not a midlife person,
- 26:03I'm. I'm older, would I get benefit from this as well? Oh,
- 26:07yeah, absolutely. I mean, I mean, I call myself a midlife
- 26:10empowerment guy, but really it's anybody over. Basically over 50,
- 26:14because I'm over 60 now myself. And so, yeah,
- 26:18it, it's. And we're looking good. It's good for anyone, really.
- 26:22So, so, and, and so your gift is the
- 26:26quiz, right? Yes, yes. So everybody should definitely check that
- 26:30out, because I think
- 26:34you have to give yourself space to create, whether
- 26:37you're creating a different life for yourself, whether you're creating something
- 26:41from your business. I would recommend that you always
- 26:44have blocked out some time on your calendar
- 26:48for yourself, because otherwise the demand on your
- 26:52time is going to be, you know, I'm not going to be. I'm not
- 26:55the person that says give yourself a full day, because that never works for me.
- 26:59Yeah, partially because my, you know, I can't concentrate
- 27:03that long, but I have several blocks during the week that I have on
- 27:07my calendar that I know that I can
- 27:11think about things, whether it's business or otherwise. Okay,
- 27:14so let me ask you this. When was the last
- 27:18time you did something new for the first time?
- 27:22Well, I actually did something new a couple of weeks
- 27:26ago. I was at a, a one day retreat.
- 27:30It was called a wise women's retreat. And I actually
- 27:33created a wind chime and so which was, which
- 27:37was kind of fun. And. And then was able to bring it home and decorated
- 27:41it. And so, yeah, that was kind of, it was, it was really
- 27:45good having to, you know, we were all together with different people and just having
- 27:48to make sure you get the. They have these lovely metal poles
- 27:52and that they put holes in and we had to string it and it
- 27:56was, it was, it was fun. So I like, I love being with other
- 28:00women and doing creative things. I don't get it. I'm to do enough
- 28:04creativity in my life, even though I like it. So, so that was
- 28:07fun. It's nice doing things with your hands sometimes. Yeah. You know,
- 28:11and with the, I used to, in the
- 28:15time when you did mass, you know, you did mailings. Yeah,
- 28:19I used to get together. My supervisor and I would call it a quilting be.
- 28:23You know, we had to like stuff envelopes and I would get lunch and we
- 28:26just talk about nonsense because it was repetitive. Sure,
- 28:30it was repetitive work, but it was fun. All right, it's time for the ad
- 28:34before we run out of time. And I hope that
- 28:38you're enjoying this particular podcast and all the podcasts.
- 28:42And so as a first step, please subscribe and share and
- 28:46engage with my podcast on social media.
- 28:49And the reason I do this is it's a way for me to give
- 28:53back to you to help you grow your business through
- 28:57connection. The idea is to build a vibrant community
- 29:00and fuel your quest for growth and impact. And I hope that you
- 29:04will continue joining me for all the other, you know, episodes of the One Small
- 29:08Change and the Gifts that Come. And they will help you. These
- 29:12small shifts, you only need a little bit of information to help you make a
- 29:15monumental transformation. And if you look at
- 29:19the other episodes, you're going to find really interesting things
- 29:23as well. And there are a couple in there that I did solo because I
- 29:26wanted to talk by myself, but they're about doing,
- 29:30having your clarity check and all those other things. So
- 29:35I can't believe that we, we're running out of time here. But let me,
- 29:39let me ask you this. Give me your, your words of wisdom.
- 29:42What's, what's a quote that we can associate with you or some word, some
- 29:46gem? Well, it's it's actually a quote that I, I
- 29:50came up with and is sort of a lesson for me as
- 29:53well, is that the, the only thing standing in your way
- 29:57is you. So get out of your own way and
- 30:01explore your world today. And I didn't mean to make it rhyme,
- 30:05but there we go. I love that. I love that.
- 30:09So, guys, we're at the end again of another fabulous
- 30:12episode. So I want you to remember that change is simple, but it's not
- 30:16always easy. It requires courage, resilience, and a willingness
- 30:20to step outside your comfort zone. And don't let that
- 30:23butterfly feeling make you stop. That actually is a sign that you
- 30:26care and you should keep going right in. So join
- 30:30me for the one small change as we do this every
- 30:34week. And until then, stay very curious.
- 30:38Thank you, Gloria. Thank you, Yvonne. Appreciate it.
- 30:42This has been great.
