- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadigal Land Always was, always
- 0:03Speaker 1: will be Aboriginal.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Land Patricks, I'm out and I'm Sal And this is
- 0:14Speaker 2: two Boat Chicks, the show that shares tips and tricks
- 0:17Speaker 2: and life lessons to be rich in life.
- 0:21Speaker 1: And today is a.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Very exciting episode and Sal has no idea why because
- 0:26Speaker 3: she does not know who the fuck our guest is.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Today, Guys, I need to tell you something.
- 0:33Speaker 3: So we are going to be talking all the things
- 0:37Speaker 3: that it's never too late for a gap year, because
- 0:40Speaker 3: a gap ye provides the opportunity and freedom to find
- 0:43Speaker 3: purpose and address challenges because we really get pushed like
- 0:48Speaker 3: the same narrative and it's basically like high school graduate, UNI,
- 0:54Speaker 3: full time work, marriage, house babies. Not everyone's narrative has
- 0:59Speaker 3: to look the same. Your trajectory and your timeline does
- 1:02Speaker 3: not have to look the same, but there is definitely
- 1:05Speaker 3: one that is idolized. And we've also very typically said
- 1:09Speaker 3: that we have followed that timeline up until like a
- 1:13Speaker 3: certain point, like we did the high school graduate, UNI,
- 1:17Speaker 3: full time work thing, and we've said as well that
- 1:20Speaker 3: if we took other pathways that also, like I'm kind
- 1:25Speaker 3: of regret that I didn't take a gap year. Same
- 1:28Speaker 3: And the purpose of this is for those people that
- 1:30Speaker 3: are either contemplating like taking a break or like.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Pausing on that timeline.
- 1:37Speaker 3: To help see how to do it. How you may
- 1:40Speaker 3: be some affordable tips and like ways that you can
- 1:43Speaker 3: take a pause from the timeline and just check in
- 1:47Speaker 3: and see what you really want in life.
- 1:49Speaker 1: But who the fuck is this game?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:52Speaker 5: I have honestly no clue. And also I'm like, is
- 1:57Speaker 5: Alex like kind of edging me in to the news
- 2:00Speaker 5: that she wants to take a gh my coach it
- 2:03Speaker 5: and today's guest is actually my new co host.
- 2:07Speaker 3: You'd probably once you meet them, you'll probably fire me.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You'll be like, yeah, that's good.
- 2:14Speaker 5: No, we'll make it a three weeks.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yeah. So, as we said, we also haven't had a
- 2:19Speaker 3: gap year, we haven't had the break. So we're calling
- 2:22Speaker 3: in back up for this episode to help talk us
- 2:25Speaker 3: through their gap year.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Someone who has been through it.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yes, and they found what they wanted to do, and
- 2:30Speaker 3: I would say they're pretty fucking successful for it.
- 2:33Speaker 6: Okay, so wait, I don't have my glasses on.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So coming into the studio, we have bring.
- 2:43Speaker 7: God to But welcome to the show.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Brian thank you, thanks for having me.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, so exciting, very good, surprise.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Good.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm glad.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I'm so excited to talk to you about this because
- 3:03Speaker 3: before sound I was saying, like, we actually did the
- 3:06Speaker 3: wrong way of life.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Because we've done it all wrong.
- 3:10Speaker 3: We've done it all wrong, but we've never taken a
- 3:12Speaker 3: gap year. And I think it's probably one of my
- 3:15Speaker 3: biggest not I wouldn't say regrets because it's never too late,
- 3:19Speaker 3: and that's the whole point of this episode, is like,
- 3:21Speaker 3: but I definitely think it's something that not enough people
- 3:25Speaker 3: have done, and it is probably feeling the same as me,
- 3:27Speaker 3: being like, oh I wish I did that. I wish
- 3:29Speaker 3: and then feeling like they don't have the time. But
- 3:31Speaker 3: you did go on a gap year and you really
- 3:33Speaker 3: found a lot during that.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Time, Oh for sure?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:36Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: How old were you when.
- 3:38Speaker 8: You're eighteen year straight after high school?
- 3:42Speaker 5: Like, that's such a good time.
- 3:43Speaker 3: To do it.
- 3:44Speaker 8: Yeah, I'd always wanted to do it, Like I always
- 3:46Speaker 8: had wanted to go to drama school, but I knew
- 3:51Speaker 8: that I wanted to take a gap year beforehand.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah did you do drama in high school?
- 3:54Speaker 6: Yeah? Yeah, well true?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Did you like drama in high school.
- 3:58Speaker 8: Not really not heaps, to be honest, like, but I
- 4:02Speaker 8: wanted to be an actor. But luckily at the school
- 4:03Speaker 8: I went.
- 4:04Speaker 6: To, we did like actual shows. We did like four
- 4:07Speaker 6: shows a year as well.
- 4:08Speaker 1: What were some of the productions did I do?
- 4:10Speaker 6: I did like Macbeth. We did Macbeth.
- 4:13Speaker 8: And and there we did like a musical that one
- 4:18Speaker 8: of the drama teachers wrote in like year twelve.
- 4:22Speaker 5: High school musical.
- 4:23Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it was very high school musical musical.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yes, I love that.
- 4:30Speaker 8: Yeah, But I kind of I always knew I wanted
- 4:32Speaker 8: to go and travel, and so from midway three year twelve,
- 4:37Speaker 8: I worked and saved and then traveled for like I
- 4:41Speaker 8: think four months, three or four months throughout Europe.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So where did you go?
- 4:45Speaker 6: Where did I go?
- 4:46Speaker 3: We also, just by the time this episode comes out,
- 4:48Speaker 3: we'll have just come back from our first Europe trip.
- 4:50Speaker 6: First ever.
- 4:51Speaker 1: First I know your virgins. I actually scared whenever we
- 5:02Speaker 1: go somewhere for the first time. It's dangerous.
- 5:05Speaker 5: It's just tectic, just like the innovation need to be
- 5:09Speaker 5: locked up.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah it'll be good.
- 5:11Speaker 6: But yes, it'd be great in my eyes. But yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 6: so you.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Obviously you knew what you wanted to do before going
- 5:21Speaker 3: on the gap year, But how did you kind of
- 5:23Speaker 3: put your dream aside to go and pursue time to
- 5:27Speaker 3: kind of have a little bit of self discovery because
- 5:28Speaker 3: when you're eighteen, you're still a baby.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Yeah that's a I think. But that's the thing.
- 5:32Speaker 8: When you turn eighteen, I feel like you feel as
- 5:34Speaker 8: though you're an adult.
- 5:35Speaker 6: It's just so grown up.
- 5:36Speaker 8: But it's funny now looking back, like now I'm twenty
- 5:38Speaker 8: six and looking back you're like, oh, yeah, so much. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 8: you actually have so much time. You no rush to
- 5:44Speaker 8: do to jump into anything. And the thing is like
- 5:47Speaker 8: most of the time, like Kintiquy, you've done research into it.
- 5:51Speaker 8: Like a lot of the time when people jump into
- 5:53Speaker 8: a degree, they end up at the end of it
- 5:55Speaker 8: they're like, I don't want to do this anymore. This
- 5:58Speaker 8: isn't what I'm actually interesting Because you can mean in
- 6:00Speaker 8: something when you like throughout high school when you're eighteen,
- 6:02Speaker 8: and then you change.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that into practice. It is so different.
- 6:08Speaker 3: It's not what you think what was going to be. Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 3: was there anything you wanted to do before? You wanted
- 6:12Speaker 3: to be an actor?
- 6:13Speaker 8: Not really, I wanted to be like an archaeologist when
- 6:15Speaker 8: I was a kid or a magician, two ends of
- 6:20Speaker 8: the two at the.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Same Jurassic Park and Harry Potter on the same.
- 6:24Speaker 6: It was Indiana Jones and Harry Potter.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Indiana Jones is a slag.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, that's a controversial crush right there.
- 6:32Speaker 5: And you're giving like draco vibes.
- 6:33Speaker 8: Too, Yeah, exactly, Yeah, that's that's my that's what I
- 6:37Speaker 8: want to be, exactly.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 8: But since I was like eight, I knew that I
- 6:44Speaker 8: wanted to be an actor. So I'm kind of lucky
- 6:45Speaker 8: in that respect where I've got plenty of friends who've
- 6:48Speaker 8: kind of gone through UNI or a now hitting this
- 6:50Speaker 8: time in their life and they're like, I don't know
- 6:51Speaker 8: what I want to do.
- 6:52Speaker 6: But even though acting is a super.
- 6:55Speaker 8: Tough profession, there is no job security or anything. It's
- 7:00Speaker 8: I just know that's it's what I want to do,
- 7:03Speaker 8: and so I've just always wanted to pursue it.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, as you just said, it can be really tough.
- 7:06Speaker 3: How do you stay on the same track, like that's
- 7:10Speaker 3: obviously your dream, But I can imagine that there it
- 7:13Speaker 3: was a bit of a roller.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Coaster because that's acting.
- 7:16Speaker 3: As fellow actors you know Lespians. You know, we did drama,
- 7:23Speaker 3: I did the high school talent.
- 7:26Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 3: So, yeah, how did you navigate that roller coaster that
- 7:29Speaker 3: is pursuing your dream, especially when time gets hard.
- 7:33Speaker 8: I mean it's just like you just kind of it
- 7:36Speaker 8: sounds it sounds like a cop out beat. I just
- 7:38Speaker 8: you just do it. You just kind of have to
- 7:41Speaker 8: deal with it. And like I think it's also having
- 7:43Speaker 8: the awareness that it is going to be hard, Like
- 7:45Speaker 8: it's not like so for some people, they'll book one
- 7:47Speaker 8: thing and it's just like booming there, yeah, like massive,
- 7:49Speaker 8: But for most most part, like the whole overnight success
- 7:54Speaker 8: thing isn't an overnight success. It's like ten years of
- 7:57Speaker 8: trying to get somewhere and then final like getting little
- 8:02Speaker 8: bits and pieces and all that kind of stuff. And
- 8:04Speaker 8: I've been so lucky with what I've been able to
- 8:06Speaker 8: what I have done, you know, since I under graduated
- 8:08Speaker 8: from acting school in twenty nineteen. But that's the thing
- 8:10Speaker 8: as well, is that I was I just went straight
- 8:12Speaker 8: from drama school to being back in Syney, and it
- 8:16Speaker 8: was COVID and so I couldn't really travel, and so
- 8:20Speaker 8: there was like two years there, two or three years
- 8:21Speaker 8: where I couldn't travel anywhere, and then I kind of
- 8:25Speaker 8: just started working straight after that. So I've like been
- 8:28Speaker 8: away and had trips, but like I haven't had that
- 8:32Speaker 8: kind of extended time that I got straight after high school.
- 8:35Speaker 8: And it's kind of like if yeah, taking the time
- 8:37Speaker 8: then to go and grow as well when you're over there,
- 8:41Speaker 8: like you guys were saying, you go and you just
- 8:43Speaker 8: like all your inhibitions, you just you just.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Go crazy inhibitions.
- 8:49Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, as a poet once said, yes, And
- 8:53Speaker 8: so I'm really glad that I did that. And I
- 8:56Speaker 8: don't know if I would have gotten into drama school
- 8:59Speaker 8: if I hadn't taken because like it's all about like
- 9:02Speaker 8: they tell you. They literally are like if you audition,
- 9:05Speaker 8: they'll be like, go and get some life experience going
- 9:07Speaker 8: really because the more experience you have, and I feel
- 9:11Speaker 8: like it's the same in most fields, the more of
- 9:13Speaker 8: a well rounded approach you can have to whatever you're doing.
- 9:15Speaker 8: So I feel like for anyone who does want to
- 9:18Speaker 8: go to UNI, taking a gap year and traveling and
- 9:22Speaker 8: you know, especially going to like really iconic historical locations.
- 9:27Speaker 8: You just like I went to Greece for the first time,
- 9:29Speaker 8: last year and you're just standing in the path and
- 9:31Speaker 8: on You're like, Wow, this is our entire exerciety is
- 9:34Speaker 8: built from this ancient civilization. It's just incredilect perspective.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say, I feel like it would
- 9:42Speaker 3: really pull you into that thing. I know I say
- 9:45Speaker 3: this like seven thousand times an episode, But you're just
- 9:48Speaker 3: a little speck in the universe, un floating rock, and
- 9:51Speaker 3: I feel like that really encourages you because we.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Go through this thing of being like, oh, but I've
- 9:56Speaker 1: got to.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Have a really successful career and buy a house and
- 9:59Speaker 3: blah blah blah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But then when you kind of pull it back, you're
- 10:01Speaker 1: like does that matter?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Like obviously yes, like being able to pay your bills matters,
- 10:05Speaker 3: But like in the grand scheme of things, pursuing your dream,
- 10:08Speaker 3: understanding yourself and knowing what you want to do is
- 10:11Speaker 3: like tenfold on top of that. But you said you
- 10:14Speaker 3: gained a lot of life experience during that time.
- 10:17Speaker 1: What were some of the life lessons that you had.
- 10:20Speaker 8: I think it's a lot of it's about independence and
- 10:22Speaker 8: also just being able to meet new people and like
- 10:25Speaker 8: form like I still talk to people that I met
- 10:27Speaker 8: when I was.
- 10:27Speaker 6: On like like from time to time. It's like Facebook
- 10:30Speaker 6: friends or something.
- 10:31Speaker 7: I love it.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And you're engaged.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Literally, it's like it's getting that age where everyone's having
- 10:36Speaker 8: kids are getting engaged or whatever. And I mean that's
- 10:45Speaker 8: that's the good thing about contique is that you kind
- 10:47Speaker 8: of have that independence, but you're also you know, you
- 10:49Speaker 8: have the support it from the company and they've done
- 10:51Speaker 8: it like a thousand times before and they it kind
- 10:55Speaker 8: of gives you the independence to go and like explore
- 10:57Speaker 8: these places, but you're also you know, you're not going
- 10:59Speaker 8: to end up in a terrible hostel somewhere. Ye Like,
- 11:02Speaker 8: it's all I went alone, and then I had a
- 11:05Speaker 8: bunch of friends who also over there at the same time.
- 11:06Speaker 8: So I did like a bunch of stuff by myself
- 11:08Speaker 8: and then a bunch of stuff most a lot of
- 11:10Speaker 8: the time with friends, but a lot of the time
- 11:11Speaker 8: alone for.
- 11:13Speaker 3: People, because I feel like that's the scary thing and
- 11:15Speaker 3: that's what holds a lot of people back that they
- 11:18Speaker 3: want to go traveling or they want to take a
- 11:20Speaker 3: gap year, but the idea of doing it on their
- 11:22Speaker 3: own is really like intimidating, yea.
- 11:24Speaker 5: And if they don't have like a partner or friends
- 11:25Speaker 5: who want to go with them, or you know, I'm
- 11:27Speaker 5: sure there's lots of benefits of doing it on your
- 11:29Speaker 5: own too.
- 11:30Speaker 8: It's yeah, it's a tough one, and I feel like
- 11:32Speaker 8: it's also like inherently different as well for men and women.
- 11:35Speaker 8: Like I can like walk around the streets in like
- 11:38Speaker 8: Paris at three am and be.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Like it's fine, I'm okay.
- 11:41Speaker 8: But like for a woman, it's also a very different experience.
- 11:44Speaker 8: But for me, like it was just it actually still
- 11:48Speaker 8: is intimidating.
- 11:49Speaker 6: Like I went traveled.
- 11:50Speaker 8: I stayed a friends place in New York, but I
- 11:52Speaker 8: went and I was by myself, and I was really
- 11:55Speaker 8: nervous about it. But then after like a week or
- 11:58Speaker 8: so of actually spending the time by yourself and explore
- 12:00Speaker 8: about yourself, You're like, oh.
- 12:00Speaker 6: This is great. I don't want to I don't want
- 12:03Speaker 6: to see other people. Necessarily. You can do your own thing.
- 12:06Speaker 6: You can do your own thing.
- 12:07Speaker 8: You can just be like no, I'm not going to
- 12:09Speaker 8: do that today, or I'm going to do that, or
- 12:11Speaker 8: I'm definitely a maximizer, is what I've learned that just
- 12:14Speaker 8: try and get the most out of Oh you're a
- 12:17Speaker 8: sound Yeah, it's terrible.
- 12:20Speaker 3: So your steps are like fifty hours. But I think
- 12:24Speaker 3: if you're doing that and you're spending the time on
- 12:26Speaker 3: your own, that's how you've got to look at it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: You've got to take it, because you've got.
- 12:30Speaker 3: To look at a gap ye as a maximizer like
- 12:32Speaker 3: it to get as much.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Yeah, how did you manage?
- 12:36Speaker 3: Like I don't know if this is like an individual question,
- 12:39Speaker 3: but like when you're spending time on your own, the
- 12:41Speaker 3: internal monologue can be really really loud, and you can
- 12:45Speaker 3: be like it can be that's when it gets overwhelming
- 12:47Speaker 3: that you're like, fuck, my thoughts are so loud, there's
- 12:50Speaker 3: so much to think.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I'm glad that you can relate as well.
- 12:53Speaker 3: How did you kind of manage that? And by the
- 12:56Speaker 3: end of a gap year, what was the difference?
- 12:59Speaker 8: I think you just get you more used to being
- 13:01Speaker 8: with your thoughts as well. But it's a daily struggle.
- 13:03Speaker 8: I don't know, Like my like, I have ADHD. I
- 13:06Speaker 8: just got diagnosed without HD like at this like a
- 13:08Speaker 8: few months ago, four months ago, which makes a lot
- 13:10Speaker 8: of sense looking.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Back at Yeah, the math is mathing now.
- 13:14Speaker 8: Yeah, Like and I feel like throughout high school I
- 13:15Speaker 8: was I was always like, oh yeah, ADHD is like
- 13:18Speaker 8: people who can't focus in class and all that.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I was just about to say that it's just.
- 13:23Speaker 6: Such like such a stereotype.
- 13:24Speaker 8: And then some of my family got diagnosed and I
- 13:27Speaker 8: was talking to them about I was like, ah.
- 13:33Speaker 1: This is your fault.
- 13:36Speaker 8: But yeah, so my internal voice is just like non
- 13:39Speaker 8: stop that it's exhausting.
- 13:41Speaker 6: But that's the thing.
- 13:42Speaker 8: I feel like actually going out and doing things and
- 13:44Speaker 8: experiencing things actually quiet and it down, Like I don't
- 13:48Speaker 8: a lot of the time. I don't pause usually during
- 13:51Speaker 8: the day, which is not always the best. But like
- 13:53Speaker 8: when you're traveling, you're actually going out and experiencing things
- 13:56Speaker 8: like in Sydney, I'm like, it's something like forty five
- 13:58Speaker 8: minutes away.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Kind of can't be fucked but.
- 14:02Speaker 1: You say only forty five minutes.
- 14:04Speaker 8: Something forty five minutes away, right, something's in bond, something new,
- 14:13Speaker 8: whereas you know you're in I don't know you're in
- 14:15Speaker 8: Greece and you're in Italy and like I will take
- 14:17Speaker 8: a bus three hours today to go and see this
- 14:20Speaker 8: little yeah church or something like. It's just like you actually,
- 14:23Speaker 8: I guess you put your money where your mouth is
- 14:25Speaker 8: in a way, and you kind of just actually go
- 14:27Speaker 8: and do the things that you want to be doing.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I was thinking that the other day, and whenever I
- 14:31Speaker 1: go on.
- 14:32Speaker 3: A trip, and I don't know if you're the same,
- 14:34Speaker 3: but it's like my personality on a trip is like
- 14:39Speaker 3: Florida mom, wine in hand, being like wine, mummy, what's.
- 14:43Speaker 1: The occasion tonight? What are we celebrating? What's going on?
- 14:45Speaker 3: Because again, release your inhibitions, feel the round in your skin,
- 14:48Speaker 3: that's the vibe.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And it's like then when I get back and I
- 14:51Speaker 1: was like, why don't we do this?
- 14:53Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm the exact same. Like even like like being
- 14:56Speaker 8: over in Bondi the other day, I was like at
- 14:57Speaker 8: the what's it called anyway, I was there and I
- 14:59Speaker 8: was just like chatting to the manager there and then
- 15:01Speaker 8: like met her husband the next day, and I was like,
- 15:02Speaker 8: why I don't know anyone who works at the cafes
- 15:04Speaker 8: like around me and Newtown, or like when I was
- 15:06Speaker 8: in New York last year, like made friends with like
- 15:09Speaker 8: the baristas and like everyone.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Yeah, like you just.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Break yourself up so much more.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah, or even like just acting like a tourist in
- 15:17Speaker 5: your own city, like going to different suburbs and trying
- 15:20Speaker 5: new cafes or going to different beaches and stuff, whereas
- 15:23Speaker 5: we just get so stuck in our routine, which sometimes
- 15:27Speaker 5: can be like really comforting and nice, but it's like
- 15:29Speaker 5: we should be bringing a little bit more of that
- 15:31Speaker 5: energy that holiday Florida.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Mummy, that's why I need to get away. I love
- 15:36Speaker 3: being inside too much. Yeah, I love just like being
- 15:40Speaker 3: a little hermit and just like cuddling my cat. Yeah, nesting, Yeah,
- 15:45Speaker 3: And I think there's nothing wrong with that, but a
- 15:48Speaker 3: certain point that like nesting becomes too comfortable. And we've
- 15:52Speaker 3: always said, like routine isn't a bad thing, spending time
- 15:55Speaker 3: on your own at home, and like checking in is
- 15:57Speaker 3: never a bad thing, but it does, like you to
- 16:00Speaker 3: the point that you're like, Okay, you're a hermit, and.
- 16:03Speaker 1: It's like routine versus rut.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Yeah, and recognizing that if it's fulfilling.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the difference. When you were away, did you
- 16:12Speaker 1: have any like epiphanies.
- 16:13Speaker 8: I guess, like when I went to the States a
- 16:15Speaker 8: couple of years ago, just like how you know, different
- 16:19Speaker 8: cultures can approach different things, like the same thing so differently.
- 16:22Speaker 8: Just how big the world is. It's insane, and I
- 16:26Speaker 8: want to do so much more traveling. I think one
- 16:28Speaker 8: of the biggest joys about traveling is that you get
- 16:31Speaker 8: to see how people exist within their own communities, and
- 16:34Speaker 8: you know, people like I grew up in France, people like, oh,
- 16:36Speaker 8: people are from Paris are so rude, and I'm like yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 8: But then when you spend time there you actually start
- 16:42Speaker 8: to get it.
- 16:43Speaker 6: Then they're just like they just don't give a shit.
- 16:45Speaker 8: They're just like saying how it is when I was
- 16:48Speaker 8: five till I was eight, and then I went.
- 16:52Speaker 1: That's so cool. Can you speak French?
- 16:54Speaker 3: I can say Jemma, Pearl, Alexandra the most well.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I can say. I can ask where you live to
- 17:03Speaker 1: a beat? Is that right?
- 17:05Speaker 6: That's all?
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's right French.
- 17:08Speaker 3: But you said that you obviously went over by yourself
- 17:11Speaker 3: and then met people while you were there, So do
- 17:13Speaker 3: you have any tips on how to meet people, because
- 17:15Speaker 3: that's also really scary.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:17Speaker 8: I mean I was definitely super nervous going over when
- 17:21Speaker 8: I was eighteen, But you can't. It just happens, especially
- 17:23Speaker 8: if you're saying in hostels, you just meet people and
- 17:26Speaker 8: there's always like nights, there's like trivia, they'll take you
- 17:29Speaker 8: out to bars, or like you can pay, you can
- 17:31Speaker 8: do like bar hopping, or like it's actually a lot
- 17:35Speaker 8: easier than you would think it is. And yeah, definitely,
- 17:38Speaker 8: Like I stayed in hostels the whole time, the entire time,
- 17:41Speaker 8: and it's just like you're in a dorn full of
- 17:43Speaker 8: twelve or eight other people and you'd just be like, Hey,
- 17:46Speaker 8: what are you doing today?
- 17:47Speaker 6: Okay, let's go see the whatever.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I rely when you're a bit younger, though, you've got
- 17:51Speaker 1: like the like.
- 17:55Speaker 8: I slept on, Like I went to a festival, seven
- 17:57Speaker 8: day festival in Budapest, and I slept on a piece
- 17:58Speaker 8: of cardboard I had given me before.
- 18:01Speaker 6: I don't know why.
- 18:02Speaker 8: Your dad he was like, take this, if you just
- 18:06Speaker 8: put this under your shoulder and your hip, shine sleep.
- 18:09Speaker 5: I've been waiting eighteen.
- 18:16Speaker 1: It's like it's got like a baby.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I was like, my father, I imagine at the end
- 18:28Speaker 5: of this episode and you're like, and now I beque
- 18:30Speaker 5: give it to you.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Oh my god, can we have the piece of God?
- 18:35Speaker 3: Way?
- 18:37Speaker 6: Do you know?
- 18:38Speaker 1: So he's on a piece of cardboard.
- 18:41Speaker 6: To be the headline. Yeah, that's.
- 18:45Speaker 1: What's your other like wildest gap year story?
- 18:48Speaker 6: That was pretty wild.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Hm.
- 18:50Speaker 8: I was going to Pompey and I couldn't speak any
- 18:52Speaker 8: Italian and I was by myself at this point, and
- 18:54Speaker 8: I just go on the wrong the completely wrong train
- 18:57Speaker 8: from the central station in Rome, and that all I
- 19:00Speaker 8: didn't have do it, Like I had not much money,
- 19:03Speaker 8: I didn't have a SIM card. I just got on
- 19:05Speaker 8: Wi Fi wherever I could get it, slept on a
- 19:07Speaker 8: piece of cardboard. I had my phone stole in at
- 19:11Speaker 8: that same festival, so I just had like an iPod
- 19:13Speaker 8: touch I think at the time. But it was just like, yeah,
- 19:17Speaker 8: it's pretty. I was like I look back and I'm like, wow,
- 19:19Speaker 8: well done do it. But yeah, I got in the
- 19:22Speaker 8: complete wrong train. But then these two little kids at
- 19:24Speaker 8: the train station like well like I was like POMPEII
- 19:27Speaker 8: and they're like Bompey, Bombe and then like took me
- 19:29Speaker 8: to the right train fishing rods.
- 19:32Speaker 6: It was very sweet.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That's so sweet.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I feel like that makes you the best candidate though,
- 19:38Speaker 3: because I think a lot of people.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Are the bottom and then you can just like yeah, it's.
- 19:42Speaker 5: It's actually not it's not going to be that bad.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Like if you get on the wrong train.
- 19:45Speaker 8: I won't have to sleep, especially now, like it's so
- 19:49Speaker 8: much like you can get a SIMS.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Now that's a really good tip.
- 19:51Speaker 8: It's crazy, Like last time I went, I just had
- 19:54Speaker 8: an aim the whole time. You just have data because
- 19:56Speaker 8: you can just use WhatsApp and whatever to call people.
- 19:58Speaker 6: I message like.
- 19:59Speaker 5: You don't have to fuck around, I need to get
- 20:00Speaker 5: a SIM.
- 20:01Speaker 8: Yeah, and it's a bit more expensive, but like it's
- 20:03Speaker 8: worth it's yeah, And that's the thing as well, I
- 20:06Speaker 8: guess about what I did, Like I really didn't have
- 20:10Speaker 8: to like that much money, Like I had just enough
- 20:12Speaker 8: to like get by, and if you you know, if
- 20:15Speaker 8: you go to hostels and as well, I guess that's
- 20:17Speaker 8: the good thing about doing it via kentiki or yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 8: organizing it that way is that you paid all and
- 20:24Speaker 8: then you it's done. You're like set up and then
- 20:26Speaker 8: you just have like whatever you need to be spending
- 20:28Speaker 8: on the day, Like yeah, exactly, you know your budget
- 20:31Speaker 8: and then you can just have your spending money. But always, yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 8: I would say give your parents like a grand or
- 20:38Speaker 8: a couple of grand just in case before you go
- 20:41Speaker 8: the backup?
- 20:43Speaker 5: Do you have any other like money saving tips aside
- 20:45Speaker 5: sleeping on cardboard?
- 20:47Speaker 6: I still do it to this day.
- 20:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I guess it's I don't know. Whenever I have
- 20:52Speaker 8: to have a goal in mind when I'm saving or whatever,
- 20:55Speaker 8: like I if I don't, I find it really hard.
- 20:59Speaker 8: But it's the same with anything, Like if you have
- 21:00Speaker 8: a goal, then it's easy. And so it's it's like
- 21:02Speaker 8: remembering it's like, oh, okay, am I going to spend
- 21:05Speaker 8: one hundred bucks this weekend going out? Or am I
- 21:07Speaker 8: going to spend one hundred bucks for like four days
- 21:10Speaker 8: when I mean Greek Island or like, it's just like
- 21:15Speaker 8: having that foresight to be like I want to spend
- 21:19Speaker 8: this now?
- 21:19Speaker 6: Do I want to?
- 21:19Speaker 3: Just kind of I feel like a lot of the
- 21:22Speaker 3: time as well, the expensive thing versus the thing that's
- 21:25Speaker 3: like maybe a little bit more budget.
- 21:27Speaker 1: The expensive thing's never as fun as the budget one.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Like I feel like you get more of like a
- 21:31Speaker 3: vibe of people story. Yeah, like the it's nice like
- 21:36Speaker 3: splurge on things here and there, but like our rogus
- 21:39Speaker 3: experiences have been in like a dive.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And like the most disgusting bod climbs. Soit have you
- 21:45Speaker 1: ever had it?
- 21:46Speaker 6: Yeah? Exactly? You got to, Yeah, you got to lean
- 21:48Speaker 6: into that.
- 21:50Speaker 1: What about holiday romances? Yeah, your nay yay, I.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Guess I think. Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 8: I well, when I was eighteen, actually I started dating
- 22:00Speaker 8: this girl that I hung out with in London when
- 22:02Speaker 8: I was on my gap year, but I knew her
- 22:03Speaker 8: from Sydney and she was living in London or like
- 22:05Speaker 8: staying in London at the time, but then throughout the
- 22:08Speaker 8: rest of the gap year was too shy. Yeah yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 8: but yeah, definitely, why don't.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You do not strike me as a shy ferst Yeah, I
- 22:17Speaker 1: don't know.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Do you feel like you've gotten less shy as you've
- 22:19Speaker 5: got probably Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 6: I'm still definitely shy. I'm definitely still shy.
- 22:23Speaker 5: So you're making it till you make.
- 22:25Speaker 6: It right now pretty much.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Ever expect you to be like your character on Heartbreak high.
- 22:35Speaker 6: So people Yeah yeah really.
- 22:37Speaker 5: So they're like fuck you after this season?
- 22:41Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe less so.
- 22:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it's been there's definitely been a shift after this
- 22:45Speaker 8: season came out, Like it's a lot more intense. Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 8: I feel like I understand a bit more what like
- 22:49Speaker 8: Tom went through last season.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, yeah, it's been more intense this season.
- 22:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 8: I think just because I had more of a like
- 22:56Speaker 8: romantic storyline. Yeah, it's just like the character was just
- 23:00Speaker 8: in a different light. Yeah, it's been great, Like the
- 23:04Speaker 8: reception has just been Yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 3: It's literally the best show Britain plays the character Spider
- 23:10Speaker 3: on Heartbreak High, which it hit number one on Netflix, didn't.
- 23:14Speaker 6: It in Australia. Yeah it was within the first day.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah that was us.
- 23:19Speaker 8: Yeah, but within the first day it got to number one.
- 23:21Speaker 8: It was like insane, and then it was got like
- 23:23Speaker 8: top ten in the US this season, which was great.
- 23:25Speaker 8: I don't think we bracked it last time in all
- 23:26Speaker 8: these different places around the world was amazing. That was
- 23:28Speaker 8: the thing about traveling. Like I was in New York
- 23:31Speaker 8: when the first season came out. I was on the
- 23:32Speaker 8: subway and people like stopping me and talking to me,
- 23:35Speaker 8: and same in La and like crazy and then yeah
- 23:38Speaker 8: this time last time, I went to Europe. The same thing,
- 23:41Speaker 8: just like being like at like a goudy built house
- 23:46Speaker 8: in Spain and then someone been like, are you Spider. Yeah,
- 23:51Speaker 8: it's a weird It is a weird thing as well,
- 23:52Speaker 8: because you just feel like you've kind of perceived.
- 23:54Speaker 6: A lot of the time.
- 23:55Speaker 3: What was it like playing a character that is so
- 23:58Speaker 3: different to you know, your personnel.
- 24:00Speaker 6: I don't know, it's it's so fun. It's really fun.
- 24:02Speaker 8: Yeah, I just like like I could never That's the thing.
- 24:06Speaker 8: It's like, I feel like I'm so conflicted versus in
- 24:08Speaker 8: real life. So it's just so fun being able to
- 24:10Speaker 8: be like yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 5: And surely playing the villain.
- 24:17Speaker 8: Yeah, I feel like I'm podcasts as the villain. Maybe
- 24:20Speaker 8: actually I just did it horror film and I'm not
- 24:22Speaker 8: not the villain.
- 24:23Speaker 1: How was that?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Okay?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Is it scary?
- 24:26Speaker 8: This one was really interesting because it was a found
- 24:28Speaker 8: footage horror, so it was all like go Pros and
- 24:32Speaker 8: Witch Projects, which it's like Australian player Witch Projects, these
- 24:35Speaker 8: two influencers get it influences Verse Cannibals essentially in the
- 24:39Speaker 8: Blue Mountains. But because it was all because it was
- 24:41Speaker 8: like go pros on our chair, so like filming with
- 24:43Speaker 8: like a vloggin camera, there was and the and the
- 24:46Speaker 8: crew would literally just go and hide in the bush
- 24:48Speaker 8: because because we just like film like every which way,
- 24:50Speaker 8: so there's no lining set up, no nothing. It was
- 24:52Speaker 8: all raw and started like really glossy and like influency
- 24:55Speaker 8: and then by the end.
- 24:56Speaker 6: It's like hectic influencer play an influencer that.
- 25:01Speaker 8: Would have been American extreme sports influencer.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Oh my god, Oh my god, that was actually it's monkey.
- 25:18Speaker 6: But it's going to be great. I'm really excited to see.
- 25:21Speaker 8: I think it's going to be scary to come out
- 25:23Speaker 8: for me next year, I think, okay.
- 25:24Speaker 6: Yeah, but they're editing it at the moment.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Yeah, you welcome back to my Why have you sat
- 25:29Speaker 5: in the Blue Mountains?
- 25:30Speaker 1: Always so intense?
- 25:31Speaker 6: It's just a scary It's like it's got a weird fire.
- 25:33Speaker 3: It does so more importantly, you were in a band,
- 25:37Speaker 3: which is so cool.
- 25:39Speaker 1: But how is that like managing? You know, being in
- 25:42Speaker 1: a band and being a successful actor.
- 25:44Speaker 6: Okay, I wouldn't they successful?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but you just had a number one TV show stress.
- 25:51Speaker 6: You're right, you got to own it. You're right.
- 25:53Speaker 8: Well, up until this one has been fucking hard because
- 25:57Speaker 8: I've done most of the managing and booking and stuff
- 25:59Speaker 8: like the last We've been a band for like eight eight,
- 26:02Speaker 8: like since high school for a long and then I
- 26:04Speaker 8: went away to Perth for three years. We're going to
- 26:05Speaker 8: a hiatus and then COVID and stuff, so it's been
- 26:07Speaker 8: spread out. But now we've started working with a new
- 26:10Speaker 8: manager and he's so good, so good. That's just amazing
- 26:14Speaker 8: me able to call them like what about this thing
- 26:16Speaker 8: and he's like, yeah, great, okay, cool, or like.
- 26:18Speaker 5: People who can make things happen for you and they
- 26:20Speaker 5: have like the connections or they know the best way
- 26:22Speaker 5: to do.
- 26:22Speaker 6: He just has all the answers, and I'm like, thank you.
- 26:24Speaker 8: So that's huge relief, and it just gives you more
- 26:27Speaker 8: room to be creative as well, Like actually, I'll be like, oh,
- 26:30Speaker 8: what what should we do for this next like single
- 26:32Speaker 8: launch or this next photo shoot? And it gives your
- 26:34Speaker 8: brain space and not be like I need to book
- 26:36Speaker 8: flights and do all this accommodation the.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Mental load of the admin.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I feel that.
- 26:40Speaker 6: It's a lot, and like all the other guys help
- 26:42Speaker 6: out as well and stuff.
- 26:43Speaker 8: But like, and the last CP that we put out,
- 26:46Speaker 8: I kind of wrote most of it during lockdown, and
- 26:48Speaker 8: then you know, everyone has their own little bits and
- 26:50Speaker 8: stuff to it. But then this one we're all really
- 26:52Speaker 8: kind of writing together, which is so nice. Like I
- 26:56Speaker 8: think this next one that we're actually putting out is
- 26:59Speaker 8: the Favorite's my favorite song I've written probably, I don't know.
- 27:03Speaker 6: It's yeah, it's it's a bit different.
- 27:05Speaker 8: It's the same, but it's different, but it's just about
- 27:06Speaker 8: like coming out of a depressive period and being like
- 27:09Speaker 8: life's okay, I'm gonna be okay, It's all right.
- 27:12Speaker 6: Like it's.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Like a crying on the dance floor song.
- 27:16Speaker 8: I cried when I wrote it, when I wrote the lyrics, like,
- 27:20Speaker 8: actually I think I was really hungover. Just cry. Yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 8: it's very cathartic. So I reckon, there's next one?
- 27:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 27:31Speaker 1: When does it come out?
- 27:32Speaker 6: August? Middle of August? And put it in the cow Yeah,
- 27:36Speaker 6: put in the calendar. What's you like?
- 27:38Speaker 1: This is a weird question. I don't know if there's
- 27:40Speaker 1: an answer. Just don't worry. It's fine, don't get over it.
- 27:45Speaker 3: That like music, especially in a gap year or spending
- 27:48Speaker 3: time on your own, can be a really therapeutic thing massively.
- 27:52Speaker 3: But I feel like now, because we have access to
- 27:56Speaker 3: so much music, and the music toneover is really really quick,
- 27:59Speaker 3: and there's a lot of it, I feel like we've
- 28:01Speaker 3: maybe lost the art to actually listen to music and
- 28:05Speaker 3: get embraced to music, Like I really, in myself really
- 28:08Speaker 3: can just sit on a plane and listen to all
- 28:11Speaker 3: you know, and like listen to a full album.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And I think we've lost that ability and as a musician.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I'd love to know what you know you do to
- 28:19Speaker 3: really kind of feel music and pull into music and
- 28:23Speaker 3: pull as much out of it as you can, Like
- 28:25Speaker 3: how can people kind of embrace it a little bit more?
- 28:27Speaker 8: Yeah, interesting, Well, I feel like as well, like the
- 28:30Speaker 8: how to meet people and stuff, that's actually a really
- 28:32Speaker 8: good way of.
- 28:33Speaker 6: Doing it as well.
- 28:34Speaker 8: If you're into music, you know, the first thing I
- 28:36Speaker 8: do when I get to any city is like look
- 28:38Speaker 8: up the venues or like I look up a band
- 28:39Speaker 8: that I love and see where they played when they
- 28:41Speaker 8: were in Paris or whatever, and be like, Okay, so
- 28:43Speaker 8: that's obviously the vibe.
- 28:44Speaker 6: Of the venue.
- 28:45Speaker 1: That's such a good idea.
- 28:46Speaker 8: And then look at what's on then then like there
- 28:48Speaker 8: might be a band that like like semi no or
- 28:50Speaker 8: like don't know it all, or like.
- 28:53Speaker 6: Like when I was in New York, I.
- 28:54Speaker 8: Had a friend of a friend a friend who was
- 28:57Speaker 8: playing with this band called Sons of the East, and
- 28:58Speaker 8: then like hung up ended up going to them and
- 29:01Speaker 8: hung out with them, and then met some of the
- 29:02Speaker 8: Spacy Jane people, and then like.
- 29:04Speaker 6: I literally just had coffee with like the photographer who was.
- 29:06Speaker 8: With Spacy Jane then and so you just like meets
- 29:10Speaker 8: people that way music said.
- 29:11Speaker 6: It's a yeah, it's a.
- 29:12Speaker 8: Really good way because then you know, like you at
- 29:14Speaker 8: least have that in common with the people in people.
- 29:17Speaker 5: Yeah, it's also something that you can go do a
- 29:20Speaker 5: line and you're not going to feel yeah, and then
- 29:23Speaker 5: you can sort of like strike up a conversation with
- 29:25Speaker 5: someone because you have like common ground there. And then
- 29:29Speaker 5: if you're like, no, but I actually do just want
- 29:30Speaker 5: to spend time alone, you can do that too.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You've got Actually, Yeah, music is also just such a
- 29:35Speaker 3: good way to like anchor a memory.
- 29:36Speaker 6: Well, that's the thing.
- 29:37Speaker 8: Like I have albums that I listened to like on
- 29:40Speaker 8: different trips that how like are that trip for me?
- 29:43Speaker 8: It's crazy listen to it and just immediately takes me
- 29:45Speaker 8: back to like to them.
- 29:47Speaker 1: It's the best. Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 3: The number one is Hawaiian Rollercoaster Road from Leylow and Steep.
- 29:53Speaker 1: That song is a fucking box.
- 29:55Speaker 6: There's that. There's this song from Surf's Up.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I love it.
- 29:59Speaker 1: That's like I'm coding.
- 30:03Speaker 6: In my nuggets. Okay, you guys are waving your friends tonight.
- 30:05Speaker 6: I am one's like open, I thank you tying. That's so.
- 30:19Speaker 8: Don't you only get what you get.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Well to wrap up, I honestly I could keep this
- 30:31Speaker 3: chat going for seven years. It has been like your
- 30:34Speaker 3: biggest life lesson on your journey so far.
- 30:38Speaker 8: I feel like this is a recent one, I guess again,
- 30:41Speaker 8: like something that I'm kind of working through. It's just
- 30:44Speaker 8: like actually being aware of boundaries, your own boundaries and
- 30:49Speaker 8: establishing them and like your values, which is just such
- 30:52Speaker 8: a classic like therapy talk thing, but like everyone's like,
- 30:56Speaker 8: oh yeah, boundaries and values, but it's like what is it?
- 30:59Speaker 6: Like I was just like, wait, what are they? What
- 31:03Speaker 6: are my values?
- 31:04Speaker 8: And like like finding like looking at a list of values,
- 31:07Speaker 8: because that's what I did, and I was like, oh shit,
- 31:09Speaker 8: Like like adventure is one of is like something that
- 31:12Speaker 8: resonates with me, Like as that's adventure within like friendships
- 31:16Speaker 8: or relationships or like even just within my life. And
- 31:18Speaker 8: it's like okay, cool. Like if like when I'm feeling
- 31:21Speaker 8: this like tension or whatever, it's because something's rubbing up
- 31:25Speaker 8: against my values or like, and I think it's a
- 31:27Speaker 8: good thing to have when you're traveling and saying with
- 31:29Speaker 8: boundaries of being like do I actually want to go
- 31:31Speaker 8: out tonight and do this thing? Or am I just
- 31:33Speaker 8: doing it because I'm I feel like I should. Yeah. Yeah,
- 31:38Speaker 8: I think for a long time I found boundaries like
- 31:40Speaker 8: a difficult thing to understand. But now I listened. There's
- 31:43Speaker 8: this great other podcast, No, there's very different vibe called Imperfect.
- 31:51Speaker 6: It's so good.
- 31:52Speaker 8: They just did an episode on boundaries. It was very
- 31:54Speaker 8: timely with their like Psychologists episode and it was amazing
- 31:57Speaker 8: and she was like doctor Emily, who was the psychologist
- 31:59Speaker 8: that got one, was like, boundaries is just like when
- 32:01Speaker 8: you are out putting yourself out of your zone of
- 32:03Speaker 8: comfort for whatever reason, and it's like boundaries just keep
- 32:07Speaker 8: you within that zone. It was like, ah, that's a
- 32:09Speaker 8: great way of looking at it, because boundaries sounds very like.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yes, staunch.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's so fucking valuable because we recently
- 32:19Speaker 3: heard this saying as well, and it was like getting
- 32:21Speaker 3: used to just just saying that's just not going to
- 32:23Speaker 3: work for me and not having.
- 32:24Speaker 8: To give a reason, and it's that's what I'm really
- 32:26Speaker 8: working at, Like, oh, that's just like I don't need
- 32:30Speaker 8: like yeah, because of this, it's like you can just
- 32:32Speaker 8: be like I can't make it, I can't do it,
- 32:34Speaker 8: and if they ask, they ask, But yeah, I would
- 32:38Speaker 8: say that would be And I feel like that is
- 32:40Speaker 8: one of the good things about going with a group
- 32:43Speaker 8: of people that you're going to be with when you're
- 32:44Speaker 8: traveling throughout the whole time is you actually get to
- 32:47Speaker 8: know who they are and you can kind of establish
- 32:49Speaker 8: your boundaries within that. Like and it's also you can
- 32:51Speaker 8: obviously do it when you're meeting new people every time
- 32:52Speaker 8: and stuff, but like if you're you know, traveling, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 8: with a tour or whatever.
- 32:58Speaker 6: With contique, you kind of get.
- 33:00Speaker 8: To know all the people and you know, if someone
- 33:03Speaker 8: doesn't feel like the right five, you can be like, okay,
- 33:06Speaker 8: oh so maybe someone's really fun and left the party,
- 33:08Speaker 8: but like, Okay, this isn't the energyurney tonight I to
- 33:11Speaker 8: go and sleep for yeah, whatever kind of makes it a
- 33:13Speaker 8: bit easier.
- 33:13Speaker 1: The thing I like.
- 33:14Speaker 3: About the idea of ntique as well, so that blank slate,
- 33:17Speaker 3: new school really go and there's no attachment of like
- 33:23Speaker 3: who you have been, and you can really delete the
- 33:27Speaker 3: thing adventureself.
- 33:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I always used to say I wish I could move
- 33:31Speaker 3: schools and die my hair blonde, really.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Just to see if.
- 33:36Speaker 6: It worked out really well.
- 33:39Speaker 1: It's not a natural blonde, expl.
- 33:44Speaker 6: Cardboard revealed too much.
- 33:49Speaker 3: So much for coming on today indulging us in.
- 33:55Speaker 6: I love it literally was like walking in.
- 34:00Speaker 2: So cool.
