- 0:49Speaker 2: It's Gary Cobb. Gary, good to see you, my friend.
- 0:51Speaker 4: My pleasure is good to be here. You know.
- 0:54Speaker 3: It's funny, Gary, most people do not know this that
- 0:57Speaker 3: you actually played for the Cowboys and Eagles.
- 0:59Speaker 4: How does that like?
- 1:00Speaker 2: I've talked to Harold Carmack about that. It's Howard and
- 1:02Speaker 2: his career, but I mean, Buddy Ryan and Tom Landery,
- 1:05Speaker 2: how did how did you get over that?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Well, it just kind of happened and I had to
- 1:12Speaker 5: deal with it, you know. But but clearly you know
- 1:15Speaker 5: there's uh, it's not good blood between the two teams,
- 1:18Speaker 5: you know, at least especially back then with Buddy.
- 1:20Speaker 4: You know, uh Man, Buddy used to go.
- 1:22Speaker 5: After the Cowboys, and it was uh, you know whatever
- 1:27Speaker 5: he was. He was strong about his dislike for the Cowboys,
- 1:29Speaker 5: let's put it that way.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Hated them.
- 1:31Speaker 3: If you grew up here like Andrew and I did
- 1:33Speaker 3: get hit, you can understand the Cowboys. So everybody were
- 1:36Speaker 3: chicken and pizza at Roosevelt Boulevard. Of course, Andrew and
- 1:39Speaker 3: I were here two weeks ago with will Shipley a
- 1:41Speaker 3: superle chamban of course with Eagles. But Gary, you've had
- 1:44Speaker 3: you had an interesting career because you played for the Lions. Yep,
- 1:50Speaker 3: you played for the Eagles, you played for the Cowboys.
- 1:51Speaker 3: You also know that this is one of the things
- 1:54Speaker 3: I didn't know about you. You were a big time
- 1:56Speaker 3: baseball player in high school. You were drafted by more
- 1:59Speaker 3: than one team. How was it two or one?
- 2:01Speaker 2: No, it was just one, because I know sometimes you
- 2:03Speaker 2: can if you don't sign.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Yeah, but you know I wasn't gonna go that way,
- 2:07Speaker 5: so UH really didn't take it that seriously because you know,
- 2:10Speaker 5: I was gonna go to college.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Uh, you know, my pops, Pops.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Was big on education, so he didn't want to hear
- 2:17Speaker 5: anything that wasn't gonna have me getting my you know,
- 2:20Speaker 5: getting my diploma and everything. So uh and he let
- 2:24Speaker 5: me go to USC because really, you know, my pops
- 2:27Speaker 5: wanted me to go to a Ivy League school because
- 2:30Speaker 5: you know, I grew up in Connecticut, so you know
- 2:32Speaker 5: the Ivy leagues, you know, right back in that area. Yea,
- 2:35Speaker 5: And so that's right, you got yelled there and he
- 2:38Speaker 5: got tremendous schools. But he wanted me to go to Princeton,
- 2:42Speaker 5: but I wound up talking him into letting me go
- 2:45Speaker 5: to USC. So I went to USC, and you know,
- 2:48Speaker 5: everything ended up working out. But you know, Pops was
- 2:51Speaker 5: big on the education, and he was right.
- 2:53Speaker 4: So I you know, when I.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Go talk to kids in schools, I tell him about
- 2:56Speaker 5: how my dad and I didn't like hearing what everything
- 2:58Speaker 5: he had to say. But Pops was right. He was
- 3:01Speaker 5: really telling me, telling me the truth. What position did
- 3:04Speaker 5: you play in baseball? I played outfield, you know, mainly
- 3:08Speaker 5: was an outfield. I mean I had played shortstop and
- 3:11Speaker 5: third base, but really I kind of settled.
- 3:14Speaker 4: In the outfield.
- 3:15Speaker 5: And you know, I was a power hitter and played
- 3:18Speaker 5: in the in the outfield.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Now, in fact, you know, I had a home run
- 3:21Speaker 5: hitting contest against uh Charles Barkley one time over at
- 3:24Speaker 5: the I hit a couple out and Charles hit some
- 3:28Speaker 5: you know into the hit a couple into the outfield.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So were you recruited for both sports?
- 3:35Speaker 4: Recruited by both sports?
- 3:36Speaker 5: You know, I was recruited, uh, And then you know,
- 3:38Speaker 5: going to USC, And that was really one of the
- 3:41Speaker 5: reasons I went there, is because they had you know,
- 3:43Speaker 5: great football team, great baseball program too, because you know, uh,
- 3:47Speaker 5: Rod day Doe was the was the manager there, the coach,
- 3:51Speaker 5: and so he read things there and a lot of
- 3:53Speaker 5: guys uh went to the majors, you know, out of
- 3:56Speaker 5: that USC program. So that's one of the reasons I
- 3:59Speaker 5: went there, is because they had a great football team
- 4:02Speaker 5: and a great baseball team as well.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Krrit did you play with Charles White?
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, I did.
- 4:07Speaker 3: He was okay, now, Andrew, Charles White was probably one
- 4:11Speaker 3: of the best college running backs in the history of
- 4:13Speaker 3: the sport.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Never became a player in the pros. Yeah, what do
- 4:16Speaker 2: you rememberbout Charles White?
- 4:17Speaker 5: Well, I mean he's a guy that wasn't that big,
- 4:19Speaker 5: but he gave you everything he had.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Man.
- 4:21Speaker 5: You know, sometimes I'm telling him, like go down, Charles,
- 4:23Speaker 5: go because he's taking hits. And you know, I mean
- 4:26Speaker 5: he ran, he ran hard, but like I say, it
- 4:28Speaker 5: wasn't a big back, right, you know. And and on
- 4:30Speaker 5: that team, you know, Marcus Allen was on that team.
- 4:33Speaker 5: You know, he was just coming in there as a freshman.
- 4:35Speaker 5: You know, Ronnie Lott was one of the teammates.
- 4:37Speaker 4: And Munos. We I mean we had a lot of players.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Jeff Jeff Fisher was there, you know, Clay Matthews, you know,
- 4:48Speaker 5: I mean we had a lot.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Of he smokes, I mean, what do you want there?
- 4:52Speaker 5: Yeah, off off of every team at least like fifteen pros,
- 4:55Speaker 5: you know, every every you know, really about twenty you
- 4:58Speaker 5: know guys would you know, we have a lot of
- 5:01Speaker 5: guys go to the.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Pros and they really ran it.
- 5:03Speaker 5: The thing is is the competition was tough. So you know,
- 5:08Speaker 5: you were playing against guys that were going to be pros.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Every day you're working out against those kind of guys.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You know, Andrew, you follow college football and you cover
- 5:16Speaker 2: it as much as you cover the NFL.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Since you've been covering against is USC been the factor
- 5:21Speaker 3: that they were When I was growing up, they were unbelievable.
- 5:24Speaker 7: Yeah, now they haven't. But I really liked the direction
- 5:26Speaker 7: that they're headed now. Danton Lynn, their defensive coordinator, he
- 5:29Speaker 7: played college football at Penn State. His father's Anthony Lynn,
- 5:33Speaker 7: who is a storied position.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Coach for the for the Commanders.
- 5:38Speaker 7: Yeah, and he's with the Chargers and the Jets, and
- 5:41Speaker 7: so I think that he is going to be a
- 5:43Speaker 7: candidate that's going to start getting some looks maybe as
- 5:45Speaker 7: a head coaching candidate. They're they're sort of heading that
- 5:48Speaker 7: pro program in the right direct. What they're headed in
- 5:49Speaker 7: the right direction. But the big thing is, you know, recruiting.
- 5:52Speaker 7: You know, you got to be able to recoup you know,
- 5:54Speaker 7: the top talent. H And I see them doing it
- 5:57Speaker 7: in certain.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Positions, but they don't have the guys up front that
- 6:00Speaker 5: we used to have. I mean, we had off one
- 6:02Speaker 5: offensive line, you got you know, like at least four
- 6:06Speaker 5: of the five guys are gonna all go to the pros.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Were high picks, you know, and.
- 6:10Speaker 5: You had so so we had a lot of guys
- 6:13Speaker 5: that when they were recruiting back then, they just really
- 6:17Speaker 5: just went in and just swooped guys up because you know, they're.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Always going to be in the at least in the
- 6:21Speaker 4: top ten every year.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So Gary, let's turn your ur chechet here. You become
- 6:25Speaker 2: an Eagle. Okay, what did you know about Philadelphia when
- 6:27Speaker 2: he came here?
- 6:29Speaker 5: Not a great deal, you know, because I had already played,
- 6:32Speaker 5: you know, six years in Detroit when I came here,
- 6:35Speaker 5: so I didn't really know a lot, but I knew
- 6:38Speaker 5: some of the players though.
- 6:40Speaker 4: That was the thing, you know.
- 6:41Speaker 5: And I remember, in fact, when the uh, I was
- 6:45Speaker 5: talking to the Eagles and I got traded here and
- 6:50Speaker 5: the first guy called was Mike Quick And I called Mike,
- 6:53Speaker 5: and uh, he was going off on me.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Why did you get this number? What do you call him?
- 6:58Speaker 5: And the reason was it was it was because he
- 7:01Speaker 5: always would hold out during the during the summer, see,
- 7:06Speaker 5: so that was his way of going in and he
- 7:09Speaker 5: would be fresh, you know, so he'd missed most of camp.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Go in, his legs are fresh.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Booms start off with let's say, you know, a one
- 7:16Speaker 5: hundred and fifty yard game, you know, at the beginning
- 7:18Speaker 5: of the season and everything. But but yeah, so I
- 7:21Speaker 5: ended up calling Mike and he really got after me
- 7:23Speaker 5: for calling them and how did I get the number
- 7:25Speaker 5: and everything. I still get on him about it, but
- 7:28Speaker 5: it all worked out. But but Baryon Campbell was the
- 7:32Speaker 5: coach at that time, and of course the next year,
- 7:35Speaker 5: of course it was Buddy Ryan who took over. And
- 7:37Speaker 5: Buddy was something else. He was a lot of fun
- 7:39Speaker 5: to play with and play for.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Because you're a defensive player, that's why.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. But he you know, Buddy was outstanding.
- 7:46Speaker 5: I mean he was ahead of the game for a
- 7:48Speaker 5: while there with that defense in the way yeah, the
- 7:51Speaker 5: forty six defense, with the pressure that had put on
- 7:54Speaker 5: the quarterback, and the way he was able to attack
- 7:58Speaker 5: a team, and he believed in turnovers and forcing turnovers,
- 8:03Speaker 5: and he gave you a lot of opportunities to make
- 8:05Speaker 5: big plays.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Now. You know, I had a game with Buddy there
- 8:10Speaker 4: in that first year. I had four sacks in one game.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:13Speaker 5: And uh, you know, a lot of it was was
- 8:15Speaker 5: Buddy with with that attacking, the way he did everything.
- 8:19Speaker 4: He gave you a chance to really make a lot
- 8:21Speaker 4: of plays.
- 8:22Speaker 7: Now we know what training camps are like now, but
- 8:24Speaker 7: what we're training camps like during your time there.
- 8:27Speaker 5: You know, it's just just a completely different world now.
- 8:32Speaker 5: You know, every time I'm out there a practice, if
- 8:34Speaker 5: I'm with somebody that played, they start griping right away.
- 8:38Speaker 5: How could they let these guys just come out of there,
- 8:40Speaker 5: go through the motions and then there right off.
- 8:42Speaker 4: But you know, we really, you know, used to practice.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Really they used to really push you a lot, probably
- 8:48Speaker 5: too much, I think, uh, the things they do now
- 8:52Speaker 5: it makes a lot more sense.
- 8:53Speaker 4: You have a lot of guys healthy.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Uh, but I probably would meet somewhere in the middle,
- 8:59Speaker 5: because I do think that they don't really get things
- 9:03Speaker 5: really going, uh in the NFL now until a few
- 9:06Speaker 5: games in you really see guys start really playing at
- 9:09Speaker 5: that high level of football because they they really don't
- 9:14Speaker 5: don't push the envelope that much. Tackle, Yeah, no tackling
- 9:18Speaker 5: and everything. I mean, it's they don't do a whole
- 9:20Speaker 5: lot in training camp. So that's it's a lot. It's
- 9:22Speaker 5: a big difference.
- 9:23Speaker 7: Now, Buddy Ryan has a rich history of developing linebackers. Yes, what,
- 9:26Speaker 7: in your estimation makes him so efficient in that area?
- 9:30Speaker 5: Well, I think that first of all, he he does
- 9:32Speaker 5: a great job of teaching the game because as a linebacker, you.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Got to have the right keys.
- 9:38Speaker 5: You got to be looking at the right thing in
- 9:39Speaker 5: order to make the uh, make the right read. But
- 9:43Speaker 5: the big thing is is he turns his linebackers loose,
- 9:46Speaker 5: like like I was talking about the four sacks I
- 9:49Speaker 5: had in the game. If you get home on that
- 9:52Speaker 5: first blitz, you only halfway even have to look over
- 9:55Speaker 5: there to see that you're probably gonna be going again.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Because he he would feel blood in the water, and
- 10:02Speaker 5: once he tasted blood.
- 10:03Speaker 4: In the water, he was like the shark.
- 10:05Speaker 5: You know you're not gonna get rid of that shark.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Lets you get that blood out of that water. And
- 10:09Speaker 5: that's the way buddy was. And but he he had
- 10:13Speaker 5: so many blitzes that it's really tough for them to
- 10:16Speaker 5: pick everything up.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So you were there for the infancy of Randall cutting him.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Tell us about Randall playing with him.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Now, Randall was a guy who it's a shame he
- 10:26Speaker 5: really kind of developed more late in his career.
- 10:28Speaker 4: But he was just a tremendous talent, I mean, one of.
- 10:32Speaker 5: The most gifted, probably the most gifted quarterback that I
- 10:37Speaker 5: ever played with.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I mean, because he had a great arm.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Of course, he could run like he was a wide receiver,
- 10:43Speaker 5: and so he could make plays and you know, he
- 10:48Speaker 5: really saw the best of him really when he was
- 10:50Speaker 5: with Minnesota and he couldn't run as much as he
- 10:52Speaker 5: used to, but he was just a tremendous athlete, tremendous
- 10:55Speaker 5: football player. And that's the thing he's he was a quarterback,
- 10:59Speaker 5: but he really was a full ball player because.
- 11:01Speaker 4: He could punt too. You know, he could have been
- 11:03Speaker 4: a punter.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Oh he had then Andrew how long was it over
- 11:06Speaker 2: ninety yards against Buffalo? Ye? Yeah, exactly.
- 11:10Speaker 5: But he had that kind of talent where he could
- 11:12Speaker 5: punt and you know, you go back and be the
- 11:14Speaker 5: punt returner because he he may make people miss so much,
- 11:17Speaker 5: you know, in open field. So he was a tremendous talent.
- 11:21Speaker 5: And now I still talked around though every now and then,
- 11:23Speaker 5: you know, uh, but because he still comes through and
- 11:26Speaker 5: and then see how he's doing. But he either lives
- 11:28Speaker 5: out there in Las Vegas, you know, with the with
- 11:30Speaker 5: the family.
- 11:31Speaker 2: What made our old friend number fifty nine, Seth Joinner
- 11:33Speaker 2: so good?
- 11:35Speaker 4: Uh?
- 11:35Speaker 5: Well, I tell you, uh, he was amazing that Seth
- 11:39Speaker 5: came in and he really developed and really studied the game.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I guess mentally, a lot of the things Seth did
- 11:48Speaker 5: was really which got put him over the top with
- 11:50Speaker 5: the guards to being able to anticipate what teams were
- 11:54Speaker 5: gonna do out of certain formations. You know, he studied
- 11:57Speaker 5: the game and he really uh was a guy who
- 12:01Speaker 5: has a very good athlete you know, and that the
- 12:04Speaker 5: way he could move and everything. But the big thing
- 12:06Speaker 5: he is he brought the power Like if he was
- 12:08Speaker 5: coming on a blitz man, he would run. He would
- 12:12Speaker 5: run a running back over you know, like an eighteen
- 12:16Speaker 5: wheeler going over a neat, you know, out in the expressway.
- 12:20Speaker 5: And that's the way he came and and he played
- 12:22Speaker 5: aggressively and everything, but the smarts, that's what's the thing
- 12:25Speaker 5: that separated it. Ain't No set should be in the
- 12:27Speaker 5: Hall of Fame. How he couldn't. You got a guy
- 12:30Speaker 5: who's had over got over twenty five interceptions right around
- 12:34Speaker 5: there and over fifty sacks in his career. You know,
- 12:39Speaker 5: how could he you know, with that type of production,
- 12:41Speaker 5: how could he not be in the Hall of Fame
- 12:43Speaker 5: as a linebacker?
- 12:44Speaker 7: I don't see. Yeah, it's criminal that he isn't.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Yeah, who is the best defensive player you played with?
- 12:48Speaker 4: Reggie White? Reggie White? Yeah, because Reggie was.
- 12:52Speaker 5: You know a lot of times they couldn't double team
- 12:55Speaker 5: him and block him. Uh, but single block man he
- 12:57Speaker 5: would run over. I mean you're gonna like, how did
- 12:59Speaker 5: he run over guys three forty?
- 13:01Speaker 4: Did he just ran over? Run him over?
- 13:04Speaker 2: Man?
- 13:04Speaker 5: You know, just power and and uh and speed for
- 13:08Speaker 5: a guy his side.
- 13:09Speaker 4: But a great player, I mean red, he was a
- 13:11Speaker 4: great player. Really, that defense.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I mean, you can't say enough about that defense because
- 13:15Speaker 5: Clyde Simmons was on that Ye he was a great player.
- 13:18Speaker 5: And of course you look at the the safety was
- 13:21Speaker 5: you were already you know, Eric Allen been into the
- 13:24Speaker 5: Hall of Fame, but they really, you know, Seth should
- 13:27Speaker 5: be going in because you look at that that defense,
- 13:30Speaker 5: how great they are.
- 13:32Speaker 4: He he should be represented.
- 13:33Speaker 5: I mean the linebackers should be represented because Seth was
- 13:36Speaker 5: that good.
- 13:37Speaker 4: You know, he was played a run, play the pass. Uh.
- 13:40Speaker 5: He was excellent at all those areas. And he was
- 13:42Speaker 5: a great blitzer. You know what else do you.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And as you said, and I think that's the biggest
- 13:47Speaker 3: point of it. He was such a student of the
- 13:48Speaker 3: game and if you hear him talk, you obviously know that. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 3: but he was so underrated and it absolutely should be
- 13:53Speaker 3: in the Hall of Fame. So that was the voice
- 13:55Speaker 3: of Gary Cobb, former Eagles linebacker. It's Adam Kaplan Andrew
- 13:58Speaker 3: de Checko. We're right here, Chicken peets on the Riservet Boulevard.

- 16:01Speaker 3: was about Boulevard. Andrew and I were here two weeks
- 16:03Speaker 3: ago with will Shipley love being here. By the way,
- 16:06Speaker 3: they're red pizza, Andrews phenomenal. What did you get tonight?
- 16:09Speaker 7: I got the lobster cheese steak, which was also funny.
- 16:12Speaker 2: You down that in about a minute.
- 16:13Speaker 7: It gave me like four or five. But yeah, when
- 16:16Speaker 7: it's that good, yeah, you gotta.
- 16:17Speaker 2: And Gary, is that the cops, salaid.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's cob solid there. Yes, it's two be good. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 5: I'm gonna I'm gonna take care of it, you know.
- 16:24Speaker 5: But I I hit some of the fish tackles. They
- 16:26Speaker 5: were pretty good. Nice nice.
- 16:29Speaker 3: So anyway, by the way, this is the Pro Football
- 16:31Speaker 3: Report presented by BCW, s A and and right now, guys,
- 16:34Speaker 3: it's it's time for an important part of the show,
- 16:37Speaker 3: because injuries, guys, are a big deal. And our injury
- 16:42Speaker 3: review is presented by the attorneys at Begley, Carlin and Mandio.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Contact them today at two one five six three six
- 16:50Speaker 3: eight nine for a free consultation. By the way, that's
- 16:52Speaker 3: two one five six three six eight nine. That's Carlin, Mandyo, Begle,
- 16:57Speaker 3: excuse me, Begley Carlin and Mandio.
- 16:58Speaker 2: For a free consultation. All right.
- 17:00Speaker 3: So, so by the way, Gary, before we get started,
- 17:03Speaker 3: what was the worst injury you could remember that you.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Had, well, you know, my ankle, guess my left ankle.
- 17:10Speaker 5: I uh high, But I never had real real yeah
- 17:14Speaker 5: ankle injury.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Yeah, high ankle.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Because they didn't call him then that was just the
- 17:18Speaker 2: bad ankle.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a bad ankle injury. And that's probably
- 17:21Speaker 5: the worst thing I had. I never had any knee
- 17:24Speaker 5: you know, I had wore wore away my knees a
- 17:26Speaker 5: little bit, you know where I had some scopes on him,
- 17:29Speaker 5: but it really didn't have an injury, you know, on him.
- 17:32Speaker 4: So I was I was pretty healthy for most of
- 17:34Speaker 4: my career, you know.
- 17:35Speaker 5: I never had anything serious where you know, I was
- 17:38Speaker 5: down for the year and.
- 17:39Speaker 4: That type of thing. You know. So I made it
- 17:42Speaker 4: out pretty good.
- 17:43Speaker 3: All right, let's get to those injuries. So Andrew saquon
- 17:46Speaker 3: Barkley late in the game.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Interest is growing. What are your thoughts on Barkley.
- 17:50Speaker 7: Yeah, it was a twenty eight yard run late in
- 17:51Speaker 7: the game. He kind of pulled up. It was a groin.
- 17:54Speaker 7: He was listened as questionable after the game. He said
- 17:56Speaker 7: that there's nothing to worry about. He'll be good to go.
- 18:00Speaker 7: Was out of reach, so there was no need to
- 18:01Speaker 7: put him into it. But that's nothing really to worry about,
- 18:03Speaker 7: all right, A J.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Brown hamstring, he didn't play. To be honest with you, Andrew, I.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Was surprised that he didn't play Biston what we'd heard,
- 18:09Speaker 3: but he didn't play.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Where are your thoughts on AJ Brown's injury?
- 18:11Speaker 7: Yeah, once it got to Thursday, I wasn't really surprised
- 18:14Speaker 7: because with the soft tissue injury he had it, he
- 18:17Speaker 7: was dealing with it in training camp. He's dealt with
- 18:19Speaker 7: it with the Titans, and those injuries can be fickle.
- 18:22Speaker 7: So at the risk of you know, you know, you
- 18:24Speaker 7: have the bye week and you don't want to risk
- 18:25Speaker 7: a setback, gives him that game and then extended period
- 18:28Speaker 7: to recover from it to get him ready for the backstretch.
- 18:31Speaker 7: So we'll see, I mean, the first practice this week
- 18:34Speaker 7: will be Thursday, and we'll get a clearer picture as
- 18:37Speaker 7: to where he stands.
- 18:38Speaker 3: What it was surprised was it was a pop up
- 18:40Speaker 3: injury which we didn't know about in the game, and
- 18:42Speaker 3: right as you said, hamstrings with him with receivers that
- 18:45Speaker 3: they got to be able to run. Now, Cam Jurgens, guys,
- 18:48Speaker 3: he's had this knee issue. Gary, and you talk about
- 18:51Speaker 3: your knees were okay, but Cam Jurgon's remember he's come
- 18:54Speaker 3: up with back surgery.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a former player when you're come.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Back from injury and he admits he do you do
- 19:01Speaker 3: you have surgeries in your career?
- 19:02Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:02Speaker 5: I had some surgeries, like you know, mainly scope. I
- 19:05Speaker 5: never had the full injury, but I've had scopes on
- 19:07Speaker 5: my knees where they go in and clean it out
- 19:09Speaker 5: and everything, and on my ankle, you know, had injury,
- 19:14Speaker 5: but I've never had you know, the the really uh
- 19:16Speaker 5: you know where they totally disabling type of injuries where
- 19:20Speaker 5: they to go in and and uh and kind of
- 19:23Speaker 5: clean out your knee and put it back together. And
- 19:25Speaker 5: also with the ankle and everything. So I never really
- 19:28Speaker 5: had the severe injuries like that. But with Cam, you know,
- 19:32Speaker 5: I could see. I was good to see. You know,
- 19:35Speaker 5: Landon Dickerson, You're looking healthier. You know, he's looking healthier.
- 19:38Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:39Speaker 5: You know the way he plays, the aggression he is,
- 19:42Speaker 5: you know, and and he's such a heart of that.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Eagles official line, because when he starts pounding you, it
- 19:49Speaker 5: seems like, you know, they have success because they he
- 19:51Speaker 5: really is kind of the physical part.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Uh.
- 19:54Speaker 5: And they really had a great thing, you know with
- 19:56Speaker 5: him and uh Makai Beckton there in the middle of
- 19:59Speaker 5: that D line, that offensive line last year.
- 20:02Speaker 4: They beat people up. Yeah, you know, Dickerson's a bully.
- 20:06Speaker 5: He's he's a He's a bully.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Like to beat people up all you got.
- 20:14Speaker 5: And and the thing is when they get it going, man,
- 20:18Speaker 5: you know, to see them beat up an offensive line,
- 20:20Speaker 5: be physical with them and everything.
- 20:22Speaker 4: And Dickerson is a big part of that.
- 20:23Speaker 5: So you see he's getting healthier and that line is
- 20:26Speaker 5: gonna play better with him.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Uh.
- 20:28Speaker 5: And you'd like to get Dickerson back in there too.
- 20:30Speaker 5: But even though I will go play, they all played
- 20:33Speaker 5: well that last game.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Andrew Brettoath who filled in, Okay, let's be honest.
- 20:38Speaker 3: He played poorly. That's what the tape show before that game.
- 20:41Speaker 3: He played out of his mind. How does this happen?
- 20:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:44Speaker 7: I gotten to know Brett to talking to him this season,
- 20:48Speaker 7: and I wasn't entirely surprised with his performance, knowing that
- 20:52Speaker 7: he had a full week of taking the reps with
- 20:55Speaker 7: the first team. And now keep in mind, in the
- 20:57Speaker 7: summer he was largely a guard. He didn't have any
- 21:00Speaker 7: reps at center. Beating up to the Vikings game. Now,
- 21:02Speaker 7: that was not a good performance. He would be the
- 21:04Speaker 7: first one to tell you that he was extremely accountable
- 21:06Speaker 7: after that game. But going into the that week, he
- 21:10Speaker 7: was confident. And I mean even talking to him after
- 21:14Speaker 7: the game, he was very well aware of the chatter
- 21:16Speaker 7: that was on social media, the skepticism, you know, and
- 21:23Speaker 7: he talked about you know, you could clearly see that
- 21:26Speaker 7: that game was meant a lot to him. It was
- 21:28Speaker 7: he was emotional when I was talking to him after
- 21:30Speaker 7: and I said, you can clearly see this game means
- 21:32Speaker 7: a lot to you, Brett, And he said, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 7: I'm just grateful to go home to my wife and
- 21:37Speaker 7: my son. They know what I've been through, and you know,
- 21:39Speaker 7: just kind of hel up for the bye week and
- 21:41Speaker 7: keep this thing rolling. So he's a motivated person. But
- 21:44Speaker 7: he looked at those those comments and the constant scrutiny
- 21:47Speaker 7: that he's under and kind of use that to fuel
- 21:50Speaker 7: him and and and perform in the way that he did.
- 21:53Speaker 2: He played great. I tell you, he really done me.
- 21:56Speaker 4: The way he was physical with guys.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I mean, I was is that the same exactly Karry?
- 22:02Speaker 3: And the athleticism him to get out that's right in
- 22:04Speaker 3: space and move guys over, and just to see him move,
- 22:07Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, never saw this before, but and
- 22:10Speaker 3: makes a great point. And you know this as a player, Yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 3: when you could get all the ones that.
- 22:16Speaker 7: It gives you confidence and you're not gonna be told no,
- 22:19Speaker 7: there's no one else that's right because.
- 22:21Speaker 2: They're not playing the kid, they're not playing Kendall.
- 22:24Speaker 7: But you could clearly see that he had confidence going
- 22:27Speaker 7: into the game. And if Jeff Statlin signed off on that,
- 22:31Speaker 7: and I granted they don't have a ton of options,
- 22:33Speaker 7: but they could have done other things. They could have
- 22:35Speaker 7: moved Landed Diggerson over if it was an area of concern.
- 22:38Speaker 7: But they were pleased with what they saw from him,
- 22:41Speaker 7: and then just kind of talking to him and understanding
- 22:43Speaker 7: about how hard he is on himself and how fixated
- 22:47Speaker 7: he was to make sure that he wasn't going to
- 22:49Speaker 7: be the weak link on the offensive line. I just
- 22:51Speaker 7: had a sense that he was going to go out
- 22:52Speaker 7: there and perform well.
- 22:53Speaker 5: And I'll tell you what he did is the way
- 22:56Speaker 5: he played so well that they're gonna be other people
- 23:00Speaker 5: that if he ever gets out there, people look at
- 23:02Speaker 5: that tape and say, hey, this guy can play center
- 23:04Speaker 5: in this league, you know.
- 23:05Speaker 4: M So he definitely did himself well, did the team well.
- 23:09Speaker 7: He showcased athleticism, and you don't want to look at
- 23:12Speaker 7: the run game and say, oh, well, it was simply
- 23:15Speaker 7: just having a healthy center in there that that was
- 23:17Speaker 7: able to unlock its full potential. But he was able
- 23:20Speaker 7: to get out in space. There is a play where
- 23:21Speaker 7: he pancaked Drew Phillips, the defensive back put him on
- 23:25Speaker 7: his backside. But even there's other moments in that game.
- 23:29Speaker 7: And I remember even asking him about Tank Bigsby and
- 23:32Speaker 7: or someone asked him about Tank Bigsby and he said,
- 23:34Speaker 7: there's a twelve yard run that he had that he
- 23:37Speaker 7: kind of created his own block. He said, we didn't
- 23:39Speaker 7: even block it up as well as we should have.
- 23:41Speaker 7: But he said that's a guy that you'll go out
- 23:42Speaker 7: there and fight for. But I thought he was really,
- 23:45Speaker 7: you know, for the most part, really effective in space.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Bretto Tank Bigsby, how about he he got my attention
- 23:51Speaker 5: about who is this kid?
- 23:53Speaker 2: Because they wouldn't play a running back. I mean they
- 23:55Speaker 2: finally did Wow.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Running through tackles, I mean nobody could tackle him.
- 23:59Speaker 5: I mean the guys right there that can't tackle one
- 24:02Speaker 5: student tackle, I mean about three tackles he broke on
- 24:06Speaker 5: one play.
- 24:07Speaker 3: And his ability to find a second level. He's a
- 24:09Speaker 3: very unique run stell. Yeah, Andrew you when you see
- 24:13Speaker 3: Tank Bigsby, Yeah, and look, it's not like they didn't
- 24:15Speaker 3: have death. Well Shipley's a good player. I'll see j Dillon,
- 24:19Speaker 3: but they moved that. They leave frogged him over the
- 24:21Speaker 3: other two. What are your thoughts about Bixby.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Going for it?
- 24:24Speaker 7: Well, everything that I've gathered in Nick Sirianni himself said it.
- 24:26Speaker 7: He practices exceptional. So when you start to log you
- 24:30Speaker 7: know some you know, you start to stack those productive practices.
- 24:34Speaker 7: That's going to instill confidence in the coaching staff to
- 24:36Speaker 7: give him a longer look. Offensively, they wanted to find
- 24:39Speaker 7: a role for him. Now, you don't acquire a player
- 24:41Speaker 7: for a fifth and a sixth round pick. Saw we
- 24:43Speaker 7: to be a kick returner. There was the appeal for
- 24:46Speaker 7: having the being on a rookie contract, but also his
- 24:49Speaker 7: running style in the sense that it could complement with
- 24:51Speaker 7: the head in Saquon Barkley and the Giants. Everything seemed
- 24:55Speaker 7: to really align. They were able to get him in there,
- 24:57Speaker 7: and he made the most of his opportunity. That was
- 24:59Speaker 7: his first one hundred yard game since Week seven of
- 25:02Speaker 7: the previous season, where he carried the boy I believe
- 25:04Speaker 7: twenty six times for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 25:07Speaker 3: All right, next injury guys at Jorry Jackson before we
- 25:10Speaker 3: get the Packer injuries. He had the concussion, I'll tell you.
- 25:12Speaker 3: And I know it's like he's got to get cleared
- 25:13Speaker 3: to practice. But the bottom line is Egals have now enough,
- 25:17Speaker 3: They have enough corners Andrew. We think happens here when
- 25:20Speaker 3: Jackson gets cleared, well.
- 25:22Speaker 7: That's gonna be really interesting because it's kind of like
- 25:24Speaker 7: you know, a coin flip, you know, spin the wheel.
- 25:27Speaker 7: But you know, in my estimation, and I understand that
- 25:29Speaker 7: they they went back to a Dori Jackson when he
- 25:32Speaker 7: was healthy. They plugged Ringo in when he was out.
- 25:35Speaker 7: But I've really just believe that it's gonna be Keey
- 25:37Speaker 7: Ringo Monday Night against the Green Bay Packers. Younger player
- 25:41Speaker 7: they've invested now two plus years in and just developing him,
- 25:45Speaker 7: and I think that he's sort of building a little
- 25:48Speaker 7: bit of confidence he had. He was pressing the service
- 25:50Speaker 7: against the Vikings, he did some good things aside from
- 25:53Speaker 7: colliding with Moro Jomo, and then then in the Giants
- 25:57Speaker 7: game he wasn't targeted that much. And you know, want
- 26:00Speaker 7: to make too much over one game, but listening to
- 26:03Speaker 7: Vic Vangio, you get the sense that he believes that
- 26:06Speaker 7: there's something there. He just needs to be more instinctual,
- 26:09Speaker 7: which is what Vic said prior to the bye week,
- 26:11Speaker 7: and he's just got to continue to play with more
- 26:13Speaker 7: confidence and technique.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Just overall at the cornerback position because they got jire
- 26:23Speaker 3: Alexander and then you just we just talked about Jackson.
- 26:26Speaker 3: It's not about how many bodies they have. They need
- 26:28Speaker 3: someone to play consistently solid football. Now Ring goes up
- 26:32Speaker 3: and tested a lot.
- 26:33Speaker 2: He hasn't. He's not given up the big play that
- 26:35Speaker 2: was the one.
- 26:35Speaker 7: Thing against the Giants in Thursday Night Football.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Other than that, he's held his own. But when I
- 26:41Speaker 2: say that, they're not really throwing at him a lot,
- 26:43Speaker 2: that's what greg O So and I were talking about,
- 26:45Speaker 2: like when are you going to go after this guy?
- 26:47Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 26:48Speaker 7: I mean, I thought the Buccaneers and Baker maythanon didn't happen,
- 26:50Speaker 7: but that didn't happen. The Giants did surprisingly.
- 26:53Speaker 2: In downfield one on the right of the little.
- 26:55Speaker 7: Jordan Humphrey got for thirty four yards and then he
- 26:57Speaker 7: got he's got to tag down Wando Robinson. Play was
- 27:00Speaker 7: still live. But other than that, you know, I've talked
- 27:03Speaker 7: to Keilly enough to kind of understand his psyche and
- 27:08Speaker 7: how he approaches the position, and I think that he's
- 27:10Speaker 7: someone that he can handle the highs and the lows,
- 27:13Speaker 7: and he knows what he needs to do. He understood
- 27:15Speaker 7: that he wasn't playing to his standard, and we'll see
- 27:17Speaker 7: if they give him, you know, a shorter leash here.
- 27:20Speaker 7: I tend to believe that they will. Ja Coryan Bennett
- 27:23Speaker 7: also too. He's another player who's only played twenty four
- 27:26Speaker 7: snaps this season, and you have to get a sense
- 27:28Speaker 7: of what he can do.
- 27:29Speaker 5: You know, I think that from a confidence standpoint, it's
- 27:31Speaker 5: something that I saw that was didn't seem to be
- 27:34Speaker 5: there with the with Ringo that I think could be building,
- 27:37Speaker 5: you know, because well that's one of the things if
- 27:39Speaker 5: you're out there on that corner, you gotta have confidence.
- 27:42Speaker 5: You cannot play that position because you know there's nobody.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Out there with you.
- 27:47Speaker 2: It's just that island.
- 27:48Speaker 5: It is you and that other in the receiver. And
- 27:51Speaker 5: if you don't go out there with confidence, it's really tough.
- 27:54Speaker 5: And I think that's growing on him and hopefully he
- 27:57Speaker 5: keeps on adding to that. But every good game he
- 27:59Speaker 5: has to hear all these positive things.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I think it makes him a better player as they
- 28:04Speaker 4: go along.
- 28:04Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely, he got to keep stacking those productive games
- 28:07Speaker 7: and then I think inevitably confidence will come with it.
- 28:10Speaker 2: And the packer injuries quickly.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Here we got Tucker Craft their starting tight end towards
- 28:15Speaker 3: the ACL he's done for the season. Luke he was
- 28:17Speaker 3: having a big time guy run after the catch tight end.
- 28:20Speaker 4: He was.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Matthew Golden hurt his shoulder in the last game. Don
- 28:23Speaker 3: Tavian Wicks, who's basically their third receiver, he's got a
- 28:26Speaker 3: CAF injury. He didn't play the last game in Jane
- 28:27Speaker 3: Ree good size, and then Jane reads out till December.
- 28:32Speaker 3: So they've got a numbers problem receiver. They had like
- 28:34Speaker 3: six guys could play receiver all good. Who knows where
- 28:37Speaker 3: We'll learn more as the week goes. As you said, Andrew,
- 28:39Speaker 3: the teams don't practice the Thursday. Aaron Bank's one of
- 28:42Speaker 3: the starting guards. He's got a stinger. Kolby would and
- 28:44Speaker 3: they starting defensive Tucket's shoulder injury. Matt Lafleur did say
- 28:48Speaker 3: that Golden's injury is not weak that we could stay today,
- 28:51Speaker 3: but they don't know yet whether.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He'll play, So, Andrew, these injuries have impact.
- 28:55Speaker 7: Yeah, they certainly do. We'll have to wait and see
- 28:58Speaker 7: what transpires in the coming days. But they're uh, they're
- 29:01Speaker 7: the walking wounded, while the Eagles. It's kind of a
- 29:03Speaker 7: stark contrast because they're getting healthy at the right time
- 29:06Speaker 7: for the sky stretch.
- 29:07Speaker 2: By character. By the way, did they have buyes when
- 29:08Speaker 2: you were playing U?
- 29:10Speaker 4: No, we didn't have schedule.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Of course, fourteen games yeaheah, what we did.
- 29:14Speaker 5: We didn't have any buys, you know, Thursday night game,
- 29:16Speaker 5: you know what there were there were some bad byes
- 29:19Speaker 5: they were letting guys go, But no, they didn't have
- 29:23Speaker 5: any buys back in my day, I.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Got you, okay.
- 29:26Speaker 3: This is That was this week's injury review, brought to
- 29:28Speaker 3: you by the attorneys at Begley, Carlin and mandio.

- 31:09Speaker 3: In fact, we used to go to the Roosevelt Maul.
- 31:11Speaker 3: My man, Sam Goodies. You're not old enough, Gary, No Sam, Sam,
- 31:15Speaker 3: say Sam Goodies? See Sam Goodies? Was Sam Goodies?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Clover? Yeah? Okay, see okay, See he's a young and
- 31:22Speaker 2: but you know, I wasn't.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Sure if I'm about that young, you'll give me too
- 31:25Speaker 7: much credit.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I have a lot you know colored either. Don't you
- 31:29Speaker 2: be coloring? Like never? Yeah, you're too.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Young, dude, You're only in your thirties. You know you
- 31:34Speaker 3: don't know about the coloring of the hair. But got
- 31:36Speaker 3: this time now for this week's Penworth Financial's Keys to
- 31:40Speaker 3: the Game. The key to your financial future is Penworth Financial.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Call them today at two six seven nine nine seven
- 31:47Speaker 3: four five oh three, or visit them at Penworth dot com. So, Andrew,
- 31:51Speaker 3: guys and Gary, they're coming off Eagles are coming off
- 31:54Speaker 3: of bye, right, the well well rested. I actually like
- 31:57Speaker 3: it mid season. It's more or less mid season. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 3: because look, I think they had it what week five
- 32:03Speaker 3: last year?
- 32:04Speaker 7: Yeah, it was white, Yeah, it was earlier. Yeah, but
- 32:08Speaker 7: they needed it at that time. Oh a time, Calgary,
- 32:12Speaker 7: this time. I mean I could have come at a
- 32:13Speaker 7: better time around the team all the time, Yeah, No,
- 32:16Speaker 7: I mean especially for the offensive line. That's that's gonna
- 32:19Speaker 7: be the key to their success offensively moving forward. You're
- 32:21Speaker 7: now allowing someone like Landon Dickerson to rest, Cam Jurgens
- 32:25Speaker 7: to rest. And I go back to this point. There
- 32:29Speaker 7: was a lot made about Saquon Barkley and how he
- 32:31Speaker 7: was going to return this season after handling the ball
- 32:33Speaker 7: four hundred and eighty two times if you're including the postseason,
- 32:36Speaker 7: but not enough was made about the attrition on the
- 32:38Speaker 7: offensive line and how that was going to affect them
- 32:41Speaker 7: early in the season and across the board, except for
- 32:44Speaker 7: Tyler Steen, who played about three hundred and sixteen snaps
- 32:46Speaker 7: last year. That they I mean, you can clearly see
- 32:49Speaker 7: that they're hindered and they're they were they're not playing
- 32:52Speaker 7: at full capacity. I think this is really gonna help them.
- 32:55Speaker 2: And when we look at these Penworth Financial keys of
- 32:57Speaker 2: the game, Andrew, I think just and.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Gary building off of that last game because Gary talked
- 33:04Speaker 3: about before the break about how Brett Toath took that first, first,
- 33:08Speaker 3: and big.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Step in his career.
- 33:09Speaker 3: And Andrew, you've gotten to know Bret because you're in
- 33:11Speaker 3: the locker room as a beat reporter for Inside the
- 33:13Speaker 3: Birds dot com.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I only to check O daily.
- 33:16Speaker 7: I always enjoy my conversations with him. I always learned something.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Went who played at Army so that we appreciate the
- 33:21Speaker 3: service good man.
- 33:22Speaker 2: But it's been a great story.
- 33:23Speaker 3: So let's get to those keys of the game again
- 33:26Speaker 3: from Penworth Financial.
- 33:27Speaker 2: So, guys, here's the way I see it.
- 33:30Speaker 3: The rested Gary talked about, you know, Dickerson looked great
- 33:34Speaker 3: in the last game, looked healthy, getting those guys off
- 33:36Speaker 3: their feet. Gary, how would you benefit for a buy
- 33:39Speaker 3: if you are still playing well?
- 33:41Speaker 5: You know, as you get older, you know your legs,
- 33:44Speaker 5: of course, your legs are your key. You know, you
- 33:46Speaker 5: really tackle with your legs, you block with your legs
- 33:49Speaker 5: and everything. So legs are very important, you know, to
- 33:52Speaker 5: have that life in them. And as you get older,
- 33:56Speaker 5: you know, you you can got to get your in
- 34:00Speaker 5: energy drains, so you need that rest. It kind of
- 34:03Speaker 5: brings you back to life and everything. So the veteran
- 34:06Speaker 5: guys on the team, you know, guy like Lane Johnson,
- 34:10Speaker 5: you know, a week off is huge him. And there
- 34:14Speaker 5: are other guys of course on on that among that
- 34:18Speaker 5: offensive line who you know, they've they've got milage.
- 34:22Speaker 4: They started getting mileage on those a lot of.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Gary other things.
- 34:28Speaker 5: So so you know, to get those guys fresh, you know,
- 34:31Speaker 5: it's it's like you you you just rejuvenate them, you know,
- 34:36Speaker 5: and I expect them to come out and really be
- 34:39Speaker 5: you know, look like the guys that that they played,
- 34:41Speaker 5: you know, that were there last year when they kind
- 34:43Speaker 5: of opened things up for Saquan.
- 34:45Speaker 7: But I would I would also to take this even
- 34:46Speaker 7: a step further. It maybe get if Cam Jurgens isn't
- 34:50Speaker 7: necessarily ready and or if they could still afford him
- 34:52Speaker 7: some time. I think what Brett Toath has shown, and
- 34:55Speaker 7: granted it was just one game, but it was a
- 34:58Speaker 7: dominant performance and maybe that w afford them some flexibility
- 35:01Speaker 7: in terms of maybe having a rush cam Jurgen's back
- 35:04Speaker 7: if he's not quite ready.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Andrew, we sat here two weeks ago in these seats
- 35:07Speaker 3: and we'll ship late because I asked some point blank,
- 35:09Speaker 3: what do you like about Brett Toeaf This is before
- 35:10Speaker 3: the great game, right, and you could just see it
- 35:13Speaker 3: how much respect he had, how smart he is. And
- 35:17Speaker 3: you know this from being in the locker room. The
- 35:18Speaker 3: players always talk about smarts with Brett TOAs. Oh yeah,
- 35:20Speaker 3: but you're looking for to ply the smartness Gary to
- 35:23Speaker 3: the football part of it on the field and when
- 35:27Speaker 3: he didn't just do it hit You never seen Brett
- 35:30Speaker 3: Tooas before. And just watched this last game against John
- 35:32Speaker 3: you go, wow, this guy's had on pro. He looked unbelievable.
- 35:35Speaker 3: How does this happen?
- 35:36Speaker 2: Guy?
- 35:36Speaker 4: I mean I was, I was amazed.
- 35:38Speaker 5: I had to tape, you know, to see, you know him,
- 35:41Speaker 5: the speed I didn't realize he was.
- 35:44Speaker 2: He's a tackle by trade, that's right.
- 35:46Speaker 5: But the way he was getting out there on those
- 35:48Speaker 5: uh when he was pulling and everything, I'm going like,
- 35:50Speaker 5: I didn't know the guy could run like this.
- 35:52Speaker 7: Yeah, the reason walks the pins and polls.
- 35:54Speaker 5: Yeah, and and the way he was I mean he
- 35:57Speaker 5: I'm sure he got the attention of all the other
- 36:00Speaker 5: you know, guys on that offensive line probably didn't know
- 36:03Speaker 5: that he could play that well. But it's just a
- 36:06Speaker 5: matter of obviously he got a chance to play the position,
- 36:09Speaker 5: got it, got another chance, he could could sit down,
- 36:11Speaker 5: and it really is good when you can sit down
- 36:13Speaker 5: and kind of see what you're doing and everything you
- 36:15Speaker 5: know and kind of be confident in things.
- 36:18Speaker 4: And it was great to see him play like that.
- 36:20Speaker 7: Yeah, just taking the temperature of the postgame locker room,
- 36:22Speaker 7: I mean, you'd be hard pressed to find a player
- 36:24Speaker 7: who wasn't happy for Brett to It seemed like that
- 36:27Speaker 7: that was the consensus, and Jordanillota mentioned it. I asked
- 36:31Speaker 7: Landon Dickerson about him, and they were just gushing about
- 36:34Speaker 7: how he just comes to work every day. He doesn't
- 36:36Speaker 7: have the spotlight or anything like that, but he just
- 36:39Speaker 7: handles his business and they commended.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Him for it.
- 36:42Speaker 3: So as we move along here with these keys of
- 36:44Speaker 3: the game, so we talked about get coming out, getting rest,
- 36:47Speaker 3: let's get to the game part of it.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Guys.
- 36:49Speaker 3: To me, it's still the Eagles with Saquon Barkley, the Packers.
- 36:54Speaker 3: There are some games where they get they've gotten cash
- 36:58Speaker 3: last week. I mean, I'm watching the pan first run
- 37:00Speaker 3: right over them, and we just remember they traded Kenny
- 37:03Speaker 3: Clark to the Cowboys. They got another d tackle hurt Andrew.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Would you not come out with barklay?
- 37:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that no matter who the opposition is,
- 37:12Speaker 7: that's always going to be their approud foundationally that that's
- 37:15Speaker 7: what they're going to do, but that that would be
- 37:16Speaker 7: the the point of emphasis. If I'm the Eagles to
- 37:19Speaker 7: try and establish the running game, see what you have
- 37:21Speaker 7: with that offensive line. I think that they're going to
- 37:23Speaker 7: be able to unlock that aspect of it, knowing that
- 37:26Speaker 7: they're coming off the bye week and they just had
- 37:28Speaker 7: a dominant showing against the New York Giants, So that
- 37:30Speaker 7: would be the most logical plan of attack, and I
- 37:33Speaker 7: think that's the way they're going to go.
- 37:34Speaker 5: I would agree, I would agree. I mean, they've got
- 37:37Speaker 5: to do that. And the thing that you've got with is,
- 37:41Speaker 5: you know everybody's been talking about this about the line. Yea,
- 37:48Speaker 5: and in fairness, big guys, when they have certain injuries,
- 37:53Speaker 5: you know, they're.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Not the same back surgery.
- 37:56Speaker 5: You don't have the explosion and everything that you had,
- 37:59Speaker 5: so I understand that and that I knew that the
- 38:02Speaker 5: guys were gonna need some time and hopefully, you know,
- 38:04Speaker 5: they they gotten enough rest when they come out and
- 38:07Speaker 5: they're kind of fresh, because this this line, they like
- 38:11Speaker 5: to come out and maul the other line, you know,
- 38:14Speaker 5: So we'll see if they can maybe get some marling
- 38:16Speaker 5: going on this weekend.
- 38:18Speaker 7: On that sixty five yard Saquon Barkley touched that run.
- 38:20Speaker 7: Landy Dickerson blocked three guys on that point and you know,
- 38:23Speaker 7: he took out the linebacker on the second block, gets
- 38:26Speaker 7: out in space and then it was Saquon Barkie verse
- 38:28Speaker 7: safety safety Tyler Nuban, and that was just a one
- 38:31Speaker 7: on one mismatch. Sakuon blew right past them and you know,
- 38:34Speaker 7: I kind of got things going for him.
- 38:35Speaker 5: That It was beautiful, And you know the thing is
- 38:38Speaker 5: it really brought you back to last year and really appreciate,
- 38:41Speaker 5: you know, the line because when he breaks out there,
- 38:45Speaker 5: like yeah, he's got the great vision and the.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Speed and everything.
- 38:48Speaker 5: But to have the line do a great job there
- 38:50Speaker 5: with that kind of block, and you know, and they
- 38:51Speaker 5: get the credit for that, that was that was good stuff.
- 38:53Speaker 3: So it's part of my keys of the game also
- 38:55Speaker 3: not only run, but when they passed. If aj Brown
- 38:57Speaker 3: is playing, They've got Keishawn Nexon, who's been a pumper,
- 39:00Speaker 3: kickoff returner, been a decent corner.
- 39:01Speaker 7: He's a he's a good football players.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Fine, he's become a good player, good number two corner.
- 39:05Speaker 3: They don't have a number one corner.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Nate Hobbs was brought in to start playing some outside
- 39:10Speaker 2: some nickel nice players, had a lot of injuries. But
- 39:13Speaker 2: you can't throw against.
- 39:15Speaker 7: Oh yeah, there's no question you could. He's the more
- 39:17Speaker 7: beatable of the two. I think Nixon has made his
- 39:19Speaker 7: way as like you said, a number number two corner.
- 39:22Speaker 7: I believe he's an all pro kick returner, phenomenal kicko,
- 39:25Speaker 7: really good kickoff returner. Yeah, I still I still think
- 39:28Speaker 7: they're gonna You're gonna see some you know, you'll see
- 39:30Speaker 7: more balance and good variants. I think Kevin Batulo is
- 39:32Speaker 7: starting to hit his stride and get into a groove
- 39:34Speaker 7: as a play caller. But you know, foundationally that it's
- 39:37Speaker 7: gonna be in the running game and they're gonna try
- 39:39Speaker 7: to get things going there.
- 39:40Speaker 2: First, Gary, you had did you play a lambeau Field.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I assume oh yeah, Oh yeah. What's it like there, Well,
- 39:47Speaker 4: I've been there when it's cold, cold, cold, cold, cold,
- 39:51Speaker 4: you know.
- 39:51Speaker 5: Uh so that's one thing, you know, even though you
- 39:54Speaker 5: kind of get an appreciation for it because of all
- 39:56Speaker 5: the history and everything.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Sure, but it.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Definitely gets cold there. But it's it's not really you.
- 40:02Speaker 5: Know, that cold there right now though, because later in
- 40:05Speaker 5: the year, you know, you want to get into uh December, go.
- 40:08Speaker 4: There and in December you gotta get tough.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Yeah, but uh but I played up there, and you know,
- 40:14Speaker 5: the thing is, though, you really appreciate a lot of
- 40:17Speaker 5: the Green Bay people that they are very nice, cordial
- 40:20Speaker 5: and everything.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Of course they want the packers.
- 40:22Speaker 5: To kill you, but but a lot of nice people
- 40:24Speaker 5: up there in Green Bay. And and they're there and
- 40:27Speaker 5: there they're gonna be making noise and it's gonna be uh.
- 40:31Speaker 4: A nice crowd there for for for the Eagles.
- 40:33Speaker 7: Is there anything that you did to prepare yourself for
- 40:36Speaker 7: that kind of the frigid temperature?
- 40:38Speaker 5: Well, uh, not really. You know, it's just mentally tough. Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 5: you're gonna you're gonna put the sleeves all on and everything.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Uh So you did all that and you're gonna you
- 40:48Speaker 5: know layer a little bit. Uh, But the big thing
- 40:51Speaker 5: is you gotta get out there. And once you get
- 40:54Speaker 5: caught up in the game as a player, it's the
- 40:56Speaker 5: thing that helps you ignore the weather. You know, you
- 40:58Speaker 5: got a big three hundred thirty pound tackle coming at you.
- 41:03Speaker 4: You're not thinking about the weather.
- 41:04Speaker 7: Yeah, you're trying to make a play, right, You're trying
- 41:07Speaker 7: to make a play.
- 41:08Speaker 4: So you get in that.
- 41:09Speaker 5: The big thing is the younger guys, you have to
- 41:11Speaker 5: get after him, especially early in the game. You know,
- 41:14Speaker 5: when you come out and things, they want to start
- 41:16Speaker 5: talking about the weather and say, hey, man, hey, look,
- 41:18Speaker 5: you know, stop it.
- 41:20Speaker 4: We got a game to play.
- 41:21Speaker 5: We're gonna focus on what we got to do and everything.
- 41:23Speaker 5: We're not gonna make such a big deal about this
- 41:24Speaker 5: weather thing. And because you don't want to let it
- 41:27Speaker 5: mentally get to you, because I have seen that, you
- 41:29Speaker 5: know where it hurt a team, because you got a
- 41:32Speaker 5: player who's focused on the weather and not undoing his job.
- 41:36Speaker 5: And the leaders on the team got to make it
- 41:38Speaker 5: a point and say, look, we are not losing to
- 41:41Speaker 5: the weather.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Okay, so I want to hear about it. I want
- 41:44Speaker 4: to hear about the weather.
- 41:45Speaker 3: When the Bucks came in here to close the vet.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Jo Jo visious to hate to bring it up. I
- 41:49Speaker 3: remember they could never win over That's right, good memory, Yeah,
- 41:54Speaker 3: for good memory. All right, So let's let's give a
- 41:57Speaker 3: quick prediction here. I like the Eagles to win this game.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Sirianni's great off off the by, They're getting healthier. Green
- 42:04Speaker 3: Bay's got injury problems at a terrible loss at home.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Green Bay is not dominated a home like they used
- 42:08Speaker 3: to be when Brett Farmer's there.
- 42:09Speaker 2: What are your thoughts hindering this game?
- 42:11Speaker 7: I like the Eagles to win this game. I do
- 42:13Speaker 7: think it's gonna be sort of a back and forth affair,
- 42:15Speaker 7: especially with Jordan Love and the green Bay passing attack.
- 42:18Speaker 7: I assume that this is going to be the week
- 42:20Speaker 7: where they are going to target the second cornerback spot,
- 42:22Speaker 7: maybe try to put rookie safety Drew mccooba in flux.
- 42:25Speaker 7: There has been some busted coverages with him back there,
- 42:28Speaker 7: some mistackles, so that might be an area where they
- 42:31Speaker 7: try to exploit it with Matt Lafleur is a good
- 42:33Speaker 7: offensive mind. But I just believe that the Eagles have well,
- 42:36Speaker 7: they have the better team, of course, but now that
- 42:38Speaker 7: they have more variation in terms of pass rush and
- 42:41Speaker 7: they're gonna be able to get home. And the interior
- 42:43Speaker 7: has been really effected, but now that's going to be
- 42:45Speaker 7: able to have the edge compliment that. So that's what
- 42:48Speaker 7: I think is going to be the difference.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Makery.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Well, you know, I like the Birds in this game,
- 42:52Speaker 5: and one of the reasons is, you know, I think
- 42:55Speaker 5: they're going to be able to kind of nullify Michael Parsons.
- 42:58Speaker 4: And the way they're going to do that is that
- 43:00Speaker 4: running game. You know, I think they.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Don't play the run. Well yeah, you know, Jarge Jones
- 43:04Speaker 2: told us is he.
- 43:05Speaker 5: Doesn't like it because you know, I mean, you know,
- 43:07Speaker 5: they don't make a big deal about you made a
- 43:09Speaker 5: tackle against the run. See, they make a big deal
- 43:11Speaker 5: about you getting to the quarterback. And I think that
- 43:13Speaker 5: they can really kind of disarm that defense of the
- 43:17Speaker 5: Packers by running at them and running at him in particular.
- 43:21Speaker 4: So I definitely think they can.
- 43:23Speaker 5: They can get after the Packers and really come out,
- 43:27Speaker 5: get physical with them and everything.
- 43:28Speaker 4: I think that's the weakness that they have.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Are those are the Penworth financial keys to the game.
- 43:34Speaker 3: The key to your financial future is Penworth Financial call
- 43:36Speaker 3: them today at two sixty seven nine ninety seven four
- 43:39Speaker 3: five oh three, or visit them at Penworth dot com.

- 45:41Speaker 3: Andrew and I were here two weeks ago with will Shipley,

- 45:47Speaker 3: We appreciate everyone who turned down, and also Meryl Reese
- 45:53Speaker 3: and I will be at Chicken Pets and Warrant and
- 45:55Speaker 3: Andrew next week. And we had Mike Bmolla with us
- 45:57Speaker 3: last time. Ego Legend our first round pick as we know,
- 46:02Speaker 3: and this is our last segment here, Andrew, and you
- 46:05Speaker 3: know what a couple of things I want to get
- 46:06Speaker 3: into as I look at my notes. First of all,
- 46:10Speaker 3: we got to talk about the trades, because this is
- 46:12Speaker 3: we could have talked about the top, but we had
- 46:14Speaker 3: a lot of stuff to get into, so I wanted
- 46:16Speaker 3: we got to get into it. Andrew, Let's get it
- 46:17Speaker 3: three trades. I didn't make a trade today. They didn't
- 46:19Speaker 3: need to because that remained three. Yeah, let's get to
- 46:21Speaker 3: the anyway. Let let's just get started with Michael Carter
- 46:26Speaker 3: the second. What you thought to Michael Carter getting him
- 46:29Speaker 3: from the.
- 46:29Speaker 7: Jets, Well, he's an interesting player. I kind of view
- 46:32Speaker 7: it through the lens of how they had Avonte Maddox
- 46:34Speaker 7: last season, where he can play nickel, he can play safety.
- 46:37Speaker 7: There's the overlap with safety's coach Joe Casper. When he
- 46:41Speaker 7: was at Duke, he was the grad assistant Joe Douglas
- 46:44Speaker 7: obviously has familiarity with him. But yeah, I mean he
- 46:48Speaker 7: has inside versatility. I think more or less he gives
- 46:51Speaker 7: Eagles optionality there in the secondary. It's not a slam
- 46:53Speaker 7: dunk that he's going to take on a sizeable workload.
- 46:56Speaker 7: We have to see how they look on the field
- 46:58Speaker 7: and talk to Vic Vangio and get a better sense
- 47:00Speaker 7: of how he views the player. But I have a
- 47:03Speaker 7: little bit more optimism with him than I do the
- 47:06Speaker 7: other corner that they acquired at Jay R. Alexander.
- 47:10Speaker 5: Well, you know, I'm looking at him a little bit
- 47:13Speaker 5: on tape. It looks like, you know, he does a
- 47:16Speaker 5: good job at that nickel corner. You know, he's he's
- 47:20Speaker 5: a guy that's not that big, but I can see
- 47:22Speaker 5: the way how how aggressive he is tackling. You know,
- 47:25Speaker 5: you got another corner who's willing to tackle people, you know,
- 47:27Speaker 5: like Cooper is.
- 47:28Speaker 4: You know, so he can't play that slot corner position.
- 47:32Speaker 5: The whole thing is, you know, originally when they were
- 47:37Speaker 5: getting him, he was the first guy that they grabbed.
- 47:39Speaker 5: You're wondering, like, well, what are they how are they
- 47:41Speaker 5: gonna utilize him when you got Cooper there?
- 47:44Speaker 4: So it's gonna be interesting to see what they're gonna do.
- 47:46Speaker 4: But I just tell him, from the.
- 47:48Speaker 5: Way Vic talks about Cooper, he's not moving him from
- 47:53Speaker 5: that nickel spot, you know. So we'll see how much
- 47:58Speaker 5: they might want to play at at the corner spot.
- 48:02Speaker 5: We'll see what he looks like out there. But it'll
- 48:05Speaker 5: be interesting to see what they do because maybe they
- 48:07Speaker 5: got something, you know, up their sleeve with somehow they
- 48:11Speaker 5: get both of them on the field at the same time.
- 48:13Speaker 5: But I don't see them moving Cooper out of that
- 48:16Speaker 5: u you know, out of the slot corner spot.
- 48:18Speaker 2: He is victy.
- 48:19Speaker 7: I don't says he's reluctant.
- 48:21Speaker 2: He loves look.
- 48:23Speaker 4: I mean Cooper's great at him man great at it.
- 48:25Speaker 7: I mean, he's one of the best players in the
- 48:26Speaker 7: NFL at that position. He's one of the best players
- 48:28Speaker 7: on the team. And I believe that what he can
- 48:31Speaker 7: do from that inside corner position is integral to the
- 48:34Speaker 7: on inside corner. Well it's nick.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I'll just give you.
- 48:43Speaker 7: It's integral to the functionality of the defense. And because
- 48:46Speaker 7: he's able to see things, and he can blitz, and
- 48:48Speaker 7: he can tackle in space and do all these other things.
- 48:50Speaker 7: Highly intelligent football player.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Very tough, and just amazing that you got a guy
- 48:54Speaker 5: with all the talent he has. I'm just amazed at
- 48:57Speaker 5: how did he make it into the second round?
- 48:59Speaker 3: Well, you know, Harry, That's the thing clubs the way
- 49:01Speaker 3: I understood it was they didn't think he was a
- 49:03Speaker 3: big time number two corner, not a not a lead corner. Yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 3: and they didn't know where what was he at the
- 49:09Speaker 3: next level? Is he a corner? Is he a nickel?
- 49:12Speaker 3: Is he a safety? By the way, I won't roll
- 49:14Speaker 3: out if they don't extend read blanket Chip's contract.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I'm not rolling out safety some days.
- 49:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I mean, you're right, You're right, I
- 49:19Speaker 5: mean he can he can do it.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Yeah, he can do it all.
- 49:22Speaker 5: And uh, you got a guy that you feel comfortable
- 49:25Speaker 5: with the way he tackles, and of course with this
- 49:28Speaker 5: man and man coverage, he can cover.
- 49:29Speaker 2: And he can return punt still Andrew, that's right.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I think they put him at safety would be
- 49:34Speaker 7: limiting his skill set and what he can do in
- 49:37Speaker 7: terms of optionality and flexibility. They like him because he's
- 49:40Speaker 7: a Swiss Army knife and they're able to deploy him
- 49:43Speaker 7: in a multitude of ways. And I think that's what
- 49:45Speaker 7: makes him special, and that's that's what makes him one
- 49:47Speaker 7: of the best defensive players on on the Eagles.
- 49:50Speaker 2: No doubt, no doubt. A couple of other things here.
- 49:53Speaker 3: So then we had so we had Michael Carter, You
- 49:57Speaker 3: mentioned JayR Alexander Andrew.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Here's my issue with this one. And I know they've
- 50:02Speaker 2: I don't care that they gave up next to nothing.
- 50:06Speaker 3: The Ravens, who are in dire strait to a corner
- 50:08Speaker 3: because a ton of injuries.
- 50:10Speaker 2: They benched them. They wouldn't They played him two games.
- 50:12Speaker 7: Andrew sixty one snaps. Yeah, I mean five games. He
- 50:16Speaker 7: was a healthy scratch twenty eight years old. I mean,
- 50:18Speaker 7: he's had a lot of injury histories in his career.
- 50:21Speaker 7: You obviously like the fact that he overlapped with Christian Parker,
- 50:24Speaker 7: the Egles defensive backs coach who was then a defensive
- 50:26Speaker 7: quality control coach for the Packers. I have to believe
- 50:29Speaker 7: that he had some sort of a say or they
- 50:31Speaker 7: at least as input. Yeah, yeah, some sort of input
- 50:34Speaker 7: and getting him getting him over there. So yeah, we'll
- 50:38Speaker 7: say what he has left, if he has anything left.
- 50:40Speaker 7: I'm not so sure that he's a drastic upgrade over
- 50:44Speaker 7: what they already have. But until you see him on
- 50:46Speaker 7: the field or what their plans are for him, he
- 50:47Speaker 7: really can't make that determination.
- 50:49Speaker 4: But clearly, probably Parker sold them on him.
- 50:52Speaker 5: I mean he had to tell them something to make
- 50:55Speaker 5: them make the move, you know, and they didn't give
- 50:57Speaker 5: up a lot. But clearly he thinks he can do something.
- 51:01Speaker 5: We'll see whether he's right or wrong, you know. And
- 51:03Speaker 5: I'm sure that he's got some kind of idea of
- 51:07Speaker 5: what what he thinks he can do with him. Maybe
- 51:09Speaker 5: he can, we'll see, he would be a great addition.
- 51:13Speaker 5: He can come in and contribute. But uh, that's that's
- 51:17Speaker 5: yet to be seen.
- 51:18Speaker 4: So we gotta we gotta see it.
- 51:20Speaker 3: But the big fish came with the last twenty four hours.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Jalen Phillips, a former first round pick for the Dolphins,
- 51:25Speaker 3: gets straight for a third round pick. Andrew I like
- 51:27Speaker 3: the move because, let's face it, their pass rush clearly
- 51:31Speaker 3: has not been good enough.
- 51:32Speaker 2: We knew this.
- 51:33Speaker 3: You and I were in train of camp, were like,
- 51:36Speaker 3: do they have anyone who could consistently rush the passion that?
- 51:38Speaker 2: Unfortunately Nolan Smith got hurt. Now he's they designated for return,
- 51:42Speaker 2: so he's going to start practicing this week, but he's
- 51:44Speaker 2: been off for two months. You just don't know how
- 51:45Speaker 2: good he's going to be. Where are your thoughts of
- 51:47Speaker 2: Jalen Phillips here?
- 51:48Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I mean, dating back to the offseason, the
- 51:50Speaker 7: two most glaring needs were corner the second cornerback spot
- 51:54Speaker 7: opposite Quinnia Mitchell and edge rusher. Especially in terms of depth.
- 51:58Speaker 7: They were relying on a lot of young players step
- 52:00Speaker 7: to make that leap forward, and you know, you put
- 52:03Speaker 7: they put a lot of eggs in the basket of
- 52:04Speaker 7: a Nolan Smith and a jaywix Hunt. But I think
- 52:07Speaker 7: it was very evident early in the season that they
- 52:09Speaker 7: weren't getting enough there. And Jalen Phillips is a headliner.
- 52:13Speaker 7: They didn't have a quote unquote headliner at that position.
- 52:16Speaker 7: And if when he's fully healthy, he is that player.
- 52:20Speaker 7: Good length, six foot five, two hundred and sixty three pounds,
- 52:23Speaker 7: can play the run. I thought he did some good
- 52:26Speaker 7: things playing under Vic Vangiel and twenty twenty three, now
- 52:28Speaker 7: it was brief, he had six and a half sacks
- 52:30Speaker 7: twenty seven pressures, so he's obviously effective in that defense.
- 52:36Speaker 7: And that's another player that I think should be able
- 52:38Speaker 7: to transition seamlessly. Health has always been that's been the
- 52:41Speaker 7: issue with him. But this season he's played and started
- 52:43Speaker 7: in all nine games.
- 52:43Speaker 5: Okay, Well, you know, I like what I saw him
- 52:46Speaker 5: on tape. You know, he's not just an outside pass rusher.
- 52:49Speaker 5: He's a kind of guy you can slide inside and
- 52:53Speaker 5: like some of the other guys in the league, the
- 52:54Speaker 5: marquee outside pass rushers can come inside and create problems
- 52:59Speaker 5: for you know, the guards and the centers, you know.
- 53:01Speaker 5: And I could see them utilizing him, and you know,
- 53:05Speaker 5: he uh, he doesn't always get the quarterback down to
- 53:07Speaker 5: the on the ground, but what he does is he's disruptive,
- 53:12Speaker 5: you know, long too, Yeah, and he's uh, he definitely
- 53:15Speaker 5: is a guy that's gonna go in and create some
- 53:18Speaker 5: some confusion, you know.
- 53:20Speaker 3: And actually could by the way he could play inside
- 53:22Speaker 3: and Nickel they did that.
- 53:23Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 53:24Speaker 5: I saw I saw him doing some of that, you know,
- 53:26Speaker 5: So you know, I think it's uh, they're gonna utilize
- 53:29Speaker 5: them the right way.
- 53:30Speaker 4: They kind of know his talents.
- 53:32Speaker 5: So I'm looking forward to and I'm expecting some good
- 53:35Speaker 5: things from him.
- 53:36Speaker 4: Andrew.
- 53:36Speaker 3: How good is his team now? Comparably to the rest
- 53:38Speaker 3: of the league after these moves.
- 53:40Speaker 7: You know, I always try to avoid hyperbole, and I
- 53:42Speaker 7: don't believe this is hyperbole saying that that that move
- 53:45Speaker 7: put them, that put them as probably the most complete team.
- 53:49Speaker 2: In the NFL one.
- 53:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I believe that it did. And you know me, Adam,
- 53:53Speaker 7: I I definitely avoid hyperbole, but I believe that that
- 53:55Speaker 7: put them on a clear path to Santa Clara if
- 53:58Speaker 7: they're able to stay healthy and if they get the
- 54:01Speaker 7: returns that they need off of some of these additions,
- 54:03Speaker 7: namely Jalen Phillips.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Just look at it, guys.
- 54:06Speaker 3: The Packers now have major injury concerns. They came off
- 54:08Speaker 3: with a terrible loss at home. The Commanders forget about that.
- 54:11Speaker 3: They're finished the quarterback. They don't know when he's coming
- 54:14Speaker 3: back with the dissiciated left elbow there three and six.
- 54:16Speaker 3: They're bad cowby stink the West. The problem is the Niners.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Now they lost another edg rush of Michael Willing for
- 54:21Speaker 3: the season to an a CL Nick Bosa. When the
- 54:24Speaker 3: top three edges of the in the league is out
- 54:27Speaker 3: for the season with an a CL injury. Fred Warner,
- 54:29Speaker 3: one of the best, maybe the best lineback in football.
- 54:31Speaker 2: He's done? Was it torn Achilles?
- 54:34Speaker 7: I think so?
- 54:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 7: I mean the Lions are a good team.
- 54:37Speaker 2: But they had a terrible loss their batter Cory. Every
- 54:39Speaker 2: team a.
- 54:41Speaker 7: Clear flaws, yeah, and you know the there's always going
- 54:44Speaker 7: to be imperfections with every team. But I think right
- 54:46Speaker 7: now Howie Roseman has assembled probably the most complete team.
- 54:51Speaker 5: Well, you know, the big thing that you know, I
- 54:54Speaker 5: want to see is to see them play complete games.
- 54:57Speaker 4: You know.
- 54:57Speaker 5: That means, you know, guys a playing at the level
- 55:01Speaker 5: that they're capable of playing at, you know, and so
- 55:03Speaker 5: they've got a chance to do this, and you give
- 55:05Speaker 5: them a little time because you know, these guys coming
- 55:07Speaker 5: right in they gotta get used to the system and everything.
- 55:09Speaker 5: But the big thing is you want the Eagles, you know,
- 55:12Speaker 5: going out and playing like the way they're capable.
- 55:14Speaker 4: You know, if you can do.
- 55:16Speaker 5: That, then you know you got to start really taking
- 55:19Speaker 5: them seriously, you know, making that making another run. But
- 55:23Speaker 5: I gotta give Howie credit man, he doesn't he goes
- 55:27Speaker 5: after it. Uh And maybe you know, you got to
- 55:30Speaker 5: give the Eagles fans some credit too, because here in
- 55:33Speaker 5: Philadelphia they get after you if you don't do your job.
- 55:35Speaker 2: So as you probably learned.
- 55:37Speaker 4: That's right. You find out, you better believe it.
- 55:39Speaker 5: Uh so, Uh, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.
- 55:42Speaker 4: But we're gonna be right in the middle of the action.
- 55:45Speaker 4: You got Green Bay in Detroit right here, back to back.
- 55:48Speaker 2: That's that is quite the schedule.
- 55:50Speaker 4: They want to find out where you're at.
- 55:53Speaker 5: And both of them with the losses, you know they're
- 55:55Speaker 5: gonna show up ready to play boys.
- 55:56Speaker 2: True.
- 55:56Speaker 3: That was the voice of Gary Coff, former Egle linebacker
- 55:59Speaker 3: with Garry thank you for showing up here to be
- 56:01Speaker 3: pleasant being our special guest editored to check I from
- 56:03Speaker 3: Inside the Birds.
