- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Have you ever thought about doing a marathon?
- 0:41Maybe an Iron Man Maybe. A 10K.
- 0:44Run or a half marathon what you will know is that if you've
- 0:47never done something like that before, it can feel like a
- 0:50challenge So why do people voluntarily do things that are
- 0:55challenging they try and. Climb that.
- 0:57Mountain. They try and run that marathon.
- 1:00They do it because most people intuitively know, but actually
- 1:04when you do something difficult and challenging, you grow as a
- 1:07person. Adam here and the client that I
- 1:10was working with was about to embark on an Iron Man they've.
- 1:14Done. Even longer endurance races
- 1:17before, but never an Iron Man of this combination of swimming,
- 1:22cycling and running. And they wanted to feel mentally
- 1:24prepared, but they also wanted to prime themselves about what
- 1:28kind of strategy they wanted to have for this particular race.
- 1:33There's a lot going on here, but it has two meanings.
- 1:36Of course, the Iron Man is adversity itself, but this
- 1:40particular client had experienced a horrible sense of
- 1:44injustice. Their particular situation, I
- 1:48won't go into details, but someone that they loved was
- 1:51taken away from them and they had limited access to that
- 1:54person, not of their choosing and not through any fault of
- 1:57their own, but they're on the receiving end of that.
- 2:00So although this is an Iron Man mental preparation, hypnosis, it
- 2:05also represents something more than that.
- 2:07And that is that it becomes a metaphor for dealing with the
- 2:10adversity of life and actually forming A belief that if you
- 2:14experience injustice or in fairness or adversity, you can
- 2:19expect to be rewarded for that with things like resilience and
- 2:23mental growth, psychological growth, emotional growth as a
- 2:26side effect of what you're going through because adversity has a
- 2:30pay off. If you like the idea of working
- 2:33with me, there will be a link in the description where you can
- 2:35book a free consultation call on Zoom.
- 2:38And for this particular session, I would encourage you to find
- 2:41somewhere quiet comfortable, ideally in the kind of place
- 2:44where you're not going to be disturbed.
- 2:46Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 3:12you breathe in, breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 3:19And as you exhale, feel a wonderful feeling of release, as
- 3:29if any tension, any worries, any ruminating thoughts are just
- 3:36leaving your body as you breathe out.
- 3:41That's it. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 3:47more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel.
- 3:53The deeper you breathe. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 4:03deeper, relaxed. As your body relaxes, Your
- 4:10imagination awakens. And I wonder if you could
- 4:16imagine a particular part of the world there on the coast of
- 4:26Australia with wonderful sandy beaches.
- 4:34Just allow your imagination to take you there.
- 4:39That's it. There on the beach in Noosa.
- 4:48But just imagine, since this is your imagination, that the whole
- 4:56beach is just for you. The whole region is just for
- 5:03you. The ocean is for you, the sand
- 5:07is for you. Even nearby roads.
- 5:12No traffic just for you. And I wonder if you could
- 5:19imagine the soft golden sands of Noosa Beach beneath your feet,
- 5:28and the gentle warmth of the Queensland sun on your
- 5:31shoulders, and the rhythmic sound of the waves rolling in
- 5:38and out. And just imagine that for some
- 5:45reason, the frequency of the waves exactly match the beat of
- 5:52your own heart. And maybe there's a breeze.
- 5:59Well, the smell of salt, but also freedom.
- 6:06All this space, all this nature, just for you.
- 6:11Imagine the ocean sparkles like liquid sapphire.
- 6:16And in this place, I want you to connect with relaxation, with
- 6:22calm, with feeling grounded and feeling alive.
- 6:31And I wonder if you could imagine walking slowly along the
- 6:35shoreline, footprints briefly marking the sand before being
- 6:42washed away, and allow the footprints to represent any
- 6:51unuseful thoughts that you can think something and notice how
- 6:56quickly it gets washed away, reminding you that the past is
- 7:02gone. And this moment, this breath,
- 7:07that's where your focus and resolve lives.
- 7:15Because with each step you take along that beach, allow yourself
- 7:20to let go of distraction, tension, or doubt.
- 7:27And with each breath in, imagine breathing in pure focus,
- 7:34determination and clarity. And as the gentle breeze of the
- 7:43sea touches your skin, you can feel a quiet confidence building
- 7:48within you. Then knowing that you're
- 7:52preparing for something to test your limits, to help you grow,
- 8:00evolve, to expand. And now imagine wading into the
- 8:09warm turquoise waters of the ocean, and maybe you can feel
- 8:19the gentle portion pull of the tide, but feel your body
- 8:24buoyant, supported, at ease. And I want you to imagine you
- 8:32start to swim in the ocean, and as you glide forward, one arm in
- 8:39front of the other, long, smooth, unhurried strokes, you
- 8:48can feel your breathing fall into rhythm.
- 8:52Imagine your mind entering that flow state.
- 8:59And in this state there is no past and there is no future,
- 9:07Only pure presence, only movement, only alignment and
- 9:15only strength. And as you move through the
- 9:21water, your subconscious begins to connect with an idea that
- 9:29every stroke forward, no matter how small, creates progress.
- 9:42One arm in front of the other moves you forward, just as every
- 9:51choice, every training session, every day of preparation, builds
- 9:56the endurance, the consistency and the deep confidence you need
- 10:04for this upcoming Iron Man. And as you enter that flow
- 10:11state, imagine your imagination drifting.
- 10:18Although you can continue to swim there in the sea, your
- 10:23imagination takes you to the starting line of the race.
- 10:33The air is alive with energy, anticipation, potential.
- 10:41And I want you to feel, whether it's a stroke of your arm moving
- 10:47you forward, your foot pressing down on the pedals of a cycle,
- 10:56or one foot in front of the other, they all represent
- 11:02progress. And I want you to imagine the
- 11:13motion creates the emotion. You don't have to feel ready, do
- 11:21ready to be ready. And I want you to feel that the
- 11:31swim is the warm up, one arm in front of the other and then in
- 11:42the cycle 1 rotation after another and in the run 1 foot in
- 11:50front of the other. Because progress is inevitable
- 11:59if you keep moving forward. And in this Iron Man, as in
- 12:08life, you respect the challenge by being consistent, present and
- 12:17prepared, not just physically, but emotionally and
- 12:23psychologically. I want you to imagine.
- 12:33Now imagine that you are an observer, like a drone camera
- 12:43observing the entire race. Imagine seeing yourself in the
- 12:50ocean. Swim, looking focused,
- 12:53determined, seeing you find the rhythm, find your flow.
- 13:02Anything happens that is unexpected or undesirable, it's
- 13:10just the cards you're dealt. See yourself where each stroke
- 13:16is meditation in motion, and you have a look on your face, an
- 13:24expression which communicates that the swim is just your warm
- 13:28up, where the ocean washes away hesitation.
- 13:35And then imagine after that 3.8 kilometres, you rise from the
- 13:42water, not looking worn out, looking refreshed, galvanized,
- 13:52determined, tenacious, unstoppable, and then see
- 13:59yourself making that transition to the bike.
- 14:04And as you see yourself beginning to ride, see yourself
- 14:09smiling, almost like this part is your picnic.
- 14:20Smooth roads, body not jolting. Observe how you're refuelling,
- 14:27replenishing. See yourself relaxed and steady.
- 14:35Because just like a picnic, you can see yourself relaxed and
- 14:42enjoying yourself. See yourself consuming food and
- 14:47energy with ease, knowing that everything you take in becomes
- 14:52fuel, becomes the energy replenishing your fuel tank so
- 15:00that each bite converted food into fuel, fuel into energy,
- 15:06energy into action. Observe the rhythm, the
- 15:18frequency, maybe there's even a device that tells you how much
- 15:26power watts you're consuming. The wind against your skin is
- 15:32just a breeze to cool you down. Any dissents just feels
- 15:41refreshing and easy. And even the climbs, that's just
- 15:49warming up your muscles for the run later.
- 15:54But notice how there in the cycling there's no over
- 15:59exertion. See yourself as the picnic,
- 16:07relaxed, enjoyable, manageable. And I want you to get a sense as
- 16:19you've observed the swim and the cycle, but not yet the race, not
- 16:29yet the run. I want you to think about
- 16:34physics because swimming is physics, cycling is physics,
- 16:40running is physics. The technique of the stroke
- 16:48creates motion, the force on the pedals create motion, and when
- 16:56you start to move in the race, the pressure against the tarmac
- 17:02propels you forward as it dawns on you that for every action
- 17:09there is an equal and opposite reaction.
- 17:15Not just in movement but in life.
- 17:18Because for every challenge there is an equal measure of
- 17:23growth, for every moment of doubt.
- 17:28There comes an. Equal surge of belief, even
- 17:35fatigue and exhaustion will be repaid with stamina and
- 17:41endurance. And every moment of adversity in
- 17:47a test of will, there is an equal and opposite revelation of
- 17:53strength, resilience, because the greater the adversity, the
- 18:02greater your resilience, hope, reassurance and humility.
- 18:11I want you to get a sense that some things are difficult, but
- 18:16you choose them and there are other things that are difficult
- 18:24not through choice but through circumstance.
- 18:30Just like falling on day one of a long race, they're the cards
- 18:36you're dealt, and all you need to do is to focus on putting 1
- 18:43foot in front of the other, trusting that the bigger the
- 18:48unfairness, the injustice or uncertainty, the more you will
- 18:55receive in growth, in resilience, in psychological and
- 19:05emotional strength. And life, like the Iron Man,
- 19:12isn't about avoiding difficulty, it's about discovering who you
- 19:17become through it. And I want you to imagine your
- 19:26body as a perfectly tuned machine, each cell alive with
- 19:34purpose. Each breath brings in oxygen
- 19:40energy. Every heartbeat pumps
- 19:43determination through your veins.
- 19:47Every calorie of food is harnessed as fuel, feeding your
- 19:52muscles, feeding your mind, feeding your mission.
- 19:57You no longer just train your body, you train your beliefs,
- 20:03your identity, and your mindset. Because this Iron Man isn't just
- 20:15a race, it's a statement, an ongoing declaration of who you
- 20:20are and what you're capable of. Not every now and then, but
- 20:29consistently. And I want you to drift forwards
- 20:38to the final stage of that race. See yourself finishing the 180
- 20:44kilometres of cycling, and now it's nearly 50 kilometres of
- 20:49riding, but see yourself making that transition quickly, maybe
- 20:55changing footwear, refuelling just a little bit more.
- 21:01And then see yourself finding that pace, that rhythm, 1 foot
- 21:10in front of another, then another, then another, knowing
- 21:18that all the energy you've consumed, you have glycogen in
- 21:23your blood, additional energy in your fat cells if needed.
- 21:32I want you to see yourself hit that rhythm.
- 21:36There was a facial expression of calm, focus and determination.
- 21:46Each stride purposeful, Each breath becomes synchronized with
- 21:51your will, your mission, where you feel connected to the earth
- 21:55beneath you, perhaps the other athletes around you, but most of
- 22:04all with that fire of determination within you.
- 22:12And then imagine floating into your body in the last kilometre,
- 22:18knowing what you've gone through.
- 22:21The swim, the cycling. Over 40 kilometres of running
- 22:28and it's now the final kilometre.
- 22:32The finishing line is there. You knew and believed you would
- 22:37achieve it and now it's coming. Feel a second win, a surge of
- 22:45energy. And as you imagine passing the
- 22:48finishing line, maybe checking a watch or a time, I want you to
- 22:55feel a surge of pride, relief, accomplishment.
- 23:04Because this moment isn't the end.
- 23:07It's simply irrefutable proof and evidence of your ongoing
- 23:14evolution. You gave the respect to this
- 23:23race that it deserved and it gave you back something even
- 23:28greater, an enhancement to your own confidence, humility, your
- 23:36own personal power. And then you realise this is
- 23:43just a thought within a thought as you find yourself swimming in
- 23:47the ocean there off Noosa Beach. Some people believe that if you
- 23:55can conceive it and believing it, then achieving it is almost
- 24:01a formality. Imagine leaving the ocean back
- 24:07onto the beach, feeling a sense of peace and noticing somewhere
- 24:15on that beach is a treasure chest.
- 24:20And there is something valuable glowing in that treasure chest.
- 24:22Not gold and jewels, but something powerful just for you
- 24:30as it dawns on you. Sometimes there is treasure in
- 24:36the trauma, and in this treasure chest is something valuable that
- 24:43you would only receive because of the adversity, unfairness and
- 24:50trauma you've experienced. And you don't need to know what
- 24:54it is, because your unconscious mind does feel that glowing
- 25:03treasure shifting from the treasure chest into you, there
- 25:07in your chest. And now it's time to return.
- 25:13Return to the present with a sense of belief, clarity, and
- 25:18mental preparation. A sense that you do not fear
- 25:24adversity or injustice because you know you can harness it.
- 25:32It gives back more than it takes.
- 25:36So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 25:40nose. Wiggle your fingers.
- 25:44Wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 25:47here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:54you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 26:00456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:05Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 26:09Wide awake. Wide awake.
