  Speaker 1: twenty nineteen. I had the great privilege of being at

  Speaker 1: that show. That was a very memorable Double or Nothing,

  Speaker 1: And over the years AW has had some really good,
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: some great double or Nothing pay per views. AW in
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: general is known when it comes to the in ring,
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: known for having great pay per views, and it doesn't
• 0:45
  Speaker 1: happen all the time, but by and large their events
• 0:48
  Speaker 1: tend to be very good. You could talk about, you know,
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: certain shows maybe don't you know, deliver quite as much
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: as other ones, or the length of them generally speaking
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: to other excellent shows, I can sit here and tell

  Speaker 1: you that we are almost halfway now through the year.

  Speaker 1: This was easily the best pay per view plee call

  Speaker 1: them what you want of the entire year so far.

  Speaker 1: This was the show of the year so far. In

  Speaker 1: That is the home run that they hit tonight at

  Speaker 1: Louis Armstrong Stadium. The head of her fourteen thousand people

  Speaker 1: sold out in that building couldn't run Arthur ashe because

  Speaker 1: it's under renovation right now. It does make me wonder, though,
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: if they had access to Arthur ash for this show,
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: could they have gotten closer to twenty thousand in that building.

  Speaker 1: I don't know if they would have hit twenty k

  Speaker 1: do I think they would have had a shot at it. Absolutely,

  Speaker 1: And New York did not let me down tonight because

  Speaker 1: that crowd tonight was fucking phenomenal, fantastic. I mean they

  Speaker 1: were hot from start to finish. I mean they cooled
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: off during some of the matches in the middle, but
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: again they peaked at the beginning and then they kind
• 2:07
  Speaker 1: of brought it down a little bit, and then when

  Speaker 1: they had to, they were there for the later matches
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: in the show, and they just added so much to it.

  Speaker 1: Just the overall energy level of the show was just
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: fucking fantastic, and hopefully that will not be the last
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: show that we see them running in that venue, because
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: it just was tremendous stuff tonight. One thing that was
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: also very noticeable about this show very little blood. The
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: blood that we got was hard way and it was
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: very very sparing throughout the show, and it was very
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: noticeable because typically on an aw pay per view, you
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: get a lot of blood and you get a lot
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: of gore, and we really didn't have any of that tonight.

  Speaker 1: And I'm assuming that had to do, you know, New York,
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: the commission here in New York. Maybe that had something
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: to do with it. I don't know, but I think
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: it was for the betterment of the show. I think

  Speaker 1: it made the show even because I am so desensitized

  Speaker 1: to it on these shows because we just see it
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: all the time. We see it in the opening match,

  Speaker 1: we see it in the middle matches, we see it

  Speaker 1: in the main events, we see it on TV every week.

  Speaker 1: That when I saw blood on the back of Darby
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: Allen's head in the main event tonight, when he came

  Speaker 1: off the tron, off the scaffolding and hit a coffin
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: drop to MJF throw a table and fucking bunked his
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: head on the way down and busted himself open. It
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: actually enhanced the match for me because I realized at
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: that moment, I said, holy shit, we haven't gotten hardly
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: any blood on this show. Little incidental blood here and there.

  Speaker 1: So that was something I definitely noticed, especially when it
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: came time for the main event. But again, in the
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: seven year history of this company, this was to me
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: the best double or nothing, one of the best pay
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: per views they've ever done, and they deserve all the
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: kudos for it. You know, on paper, it looked like
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: a strong show coming in. There were matches on there
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: that I looked at and I said, oh, man, like
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: Okata and Takeshta. I'm really looking forward to that match
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: Swerve in Bandita in the owen Hart Tournament. That's gonna

  Speaker 1: be a fucking great match. I can't wait to see

  Speaker 1: that anarchy in the arena last year I had a
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: ton of fun with So if Stadium Stampede is anything
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: like that, man, that's that's gonna be a lot of fun.

  Speaker 1: And when the show was over, really top to bottom,

  Speaker 1: with very few exceptions, every single match delivered and then some.

  Speaker 1: I really don't have a whole lot negative to say

  Speaker 1: about that. You know, they really they put a lot

  Speaker 1: of work in tonight. I think up and down the card,

  Speaker 1: all the men and women on the cards, So that's

  Speaker 1: number one. But of course it was all built around

  Speaker 1: the main event. They sold a lot of tickets on

  Speaker 1: the idea that MJF might actually get his head shaved

  Speaker 1: bald tonight, and realistically I didn't really think it was
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: going to happen. But it was also more because I
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: just couldn't the thought of MJF going in there after
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: having already lost to Darby Allen in like two minutes,
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: and then losing to Kevin Knight, so he didn't have
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: a lot of moments him here, coming into this match,
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: and then going in there and losing to Darby again,
• 5:04
  Speaker 1: forget even getting his head shaved, to go in there
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: tonight and lose again to someone who you had to
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: know he was on borrowed time, right, This is the
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: story that they've been telling on television now for weeks.

  Speaker 1: Darby is defending his championship weekly, sometimes multiple times a week.

  Speaker 1: He's taking all of these ridiculous bumps and all of
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: these crazy risks he's burning the candle at both ends.

  Speaker 1: You mean to tell me that MJF is going to

  Speaker 1: lose to this guy again and he can't find a

  Speaker 1: way to beat Darby Allen. It just wouldn't have made

  Speaker 1: any sense. So I was pretty confident that he was

  Speaker 1: going to walk out with that championship. But you can

  Speaker 1: never be sure, right. I even said on the SoundOff

  Speaker 1: earlier today, I wonder because they're really pushing this hair stipulation,

  Speaker 1: and I'm wondering if they could actually have their cake

  Speaker 1: and eat it too where he wins the belt back.

  Speaker 1: But then they find a way to actually get his
• 5:54
  Speaker 1: head shaved anyway, right, So the fans get to see

  Speaker 1: that too, and they get like the happy ending there

  Speaker 1: at the end. But I'm glad they didn't do that,

  Speaker 1: right MJF one, he doesn't get his head shaved. We did, however,

  Speaker 1: have a little bit of a surprise, but not really,

  Speaker 1: I guess at the end of the show. I wasn't

  Speaker 1: expecting to see it tonight. But if you have been

  Speaker 1: watching Dynamite, and if you've been watching the streams, as

  Speaker 1: I talk about Dynamite every week, the Kevin Knight stuff,

  Speaker 1: Kevin Knight has just been the other day when he

  Speaker 1: cut that promo in the ring where he came out

  Speaker 1: and completely overshadowed Darby and Speedball on Wednesday even made

  Speaker 1: the comment then I said, man, it came up as

  Speaker 1: very heelish to me, so some people thought maybe Speedball

  Speaker 1: was going to be going heel soon. I said, you know,

  Speaker 1: of the two, it really should be Kevin Knight. I

  Speaker 1: think it would be Kevin Knight. I can't picture Speedball

  Speaker 1: as a heel. If anybody is going to go heal,

  Speaker 1: I think it's going to be Kevin Knight. What I

  Speaker 1: was not expecting was for them to shoot the angle tonight.

  Speaker 1: If anything, I thought maybe they would have saved it

  Speaker 1: for TV. They did it tonight where Darby Allen after

  Speaker 1: losing the AW World Championship to MJF now eight three

  Speaker 1: times AW World champion by the age of thirty, Kevin

  Speaker 1: Knight comes out, chases MJF away. Darby Allen is strapped

  Speaker 1: to a fricking stretcher. He can't move, he can't do nothing,

  Speaker 1: and Kevin Knight comes off the top down to the

  Speaker 1: floor with a UFO splash, and the announcers are why

  Speaker 1: Kevin Knight, Why why would you do this to Darby

  Speaker 1: Allen because he let all of them down. Kevin Knight

  Speaker 1: cut this promo on Wednesday. This really like over the top,

  Speaker 1: big pep speech, big pep talk for Darby Allen, where

  Speaker 1: we believe in you and everything is riding on you. Everybody.

  Speaker 1: You got to go in there and represent the company.

  Speaker 1: You got to beat this guy and he failed, and

  Speaker 1: so Kevin Knight decided to do what he did tonight.

  Speaker 1: It could be as simple as that. Although I think

  Speaker 1: we just got a glimpse into what Darby's match may

  Speaker 1: be for Wembley Stadium this year. I suspect we're not

  Speaker 1: going to be seeing Darby for a little bit before

  Speaker 1: he makes the big comeback. Darby Allen, let me tell

  Speaker 1: The only person at wrestling who takes that literally, Darby Allen.

  Speaker 1: And that was just a little taste of what this

  Speaker 1: guy went on to do in this match. That's who

  Speaker 1: Darby is. But he's been having title defense after title

  Speaker 1: defense and it all ran out for him tonight, and

  Speaker 1: I just don't understand, you know, why you would want

  Speaker 1: to not give him some time off. So I suspect

  Speaker 1: that we will not see him for a little bit.

  Speaker 1: Let him rest up, let him heal up, and then

  Speaker 1: we'll get him back and we'll get the match with

  Speaker 1: Kevin Knight. MJF winning the championship, though, was hardly a

  Speaker 1: surprise here on this show. Stadium Stampede, Now, we knew

  Speaker 1: coming into this that Stadium Stampede was going to be

  Speaker 1: a cluster fuck. I mean, what else could it be.

  Speaker 1: You got fourteen guys out there, and they're all going

  Speaker 1: to be doing all kinds of wacky shit all over

  Speaker 1: the building, right, so you kind of knew what to expect.

  Speaker 1: Maybe the biggest surprise to me is that they didn't

  Speaker 1: adopt the typical I guess blueprint of the anarchy in

  Speaker 1: the arena matches where we have the music playing in
• 9:18
  Speaker 1: the background. Otherwise it was basically anarchy in the arena,

  Speaker 1: just without the music. But it was just mass chaos
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: for thirty minutes. If I have one real critique, it
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: would be that it went thirty minutes. It did not
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: need to go thirty minutes. We definitely got to a

  Speaker 1: point in the Stampede match where I was like, you
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: know what, you could have achieved the same thing and
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: shaved off eight to ten minutes. It did go a
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: little It did go a little long, but I had
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: fun with it because I knew what to expect coming in. Again,

  Speaker 1: I mentioned the match last year. I had a lot
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: of fun with that anarchy in the arena match last year.

  Speaker 1: They always tried to come up with some funny, stupid
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: shit to do. You kind of know what to expect

  Speaker 1: going into it. There's going to be a lot of

  Speaker 1: nose selling because it's just constant going from one spot

  Speaker 1: to another. I mean, it's a spot fest. That's what

  Speaker 1: it is. It is a spotfest. Everybody has their spots

  Speaker 1: that they do and they try to make it entertaining.

  Speaker 1: it amusing. And again maybe they were handicapped in that

  Speaker 1: they couldn't go over the top with the violence because

  Speaker 1: for all this, think about it, all the stuff that

  Speaker 1: they were doing in that match, you didn't have the blood.

  Speaker 1: You didn't have the gore, you didn't have like some

  Speaker 1: of the stuff they do on these pay per views.

  Speaker 1: You didn't have that in this match, right, So they

  Speaker 1: had to be silly and they had to come up

  Speaker 1: with other creative ways, right to keep people engaged. So

  Speaker 1: that would be my only critique of that. I just

  Speaker 1: think it went on for longer than it had to.

  Speaker 1: I personally was looking forward to the most because it's

  Speaker 1: story or we hear that criticism a lot, and they

  Speaker 1: do tell stories in AAW. They're not always great stories,

  Speaker 1: but they do tell stories in this company. One story

  Speaker 1: that I have been all in on from the moment

  Speaker 1: it started Canoskate Takashta, Kazuchko Kata and the fact that

  Speaker 1: neither one of these men have any love for the other,

  Speaker 1: yet they're both part of the same heel faction and

  Speaker 1: they've been building tensions between these guys now for what
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: feels like more than a year. We got a little

  Speaker 1: taste of it back in December in the Continental Classic,

  Speaker 1: but I said at the time, I said it was

  Speaker 1: a good match back in December on that pay per view,

  Speaker 1: it's good. It was good, but it was not what

  Speaker 1: little bit of a surprise at the end with a

  Speaker 1: return of Kyle Fletcher, who I was not expecting to
