Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What is going on, guys. It is a late Sunday night,
- 0:03Speaker 1: early Monday morning. Happy Memorial Day for those of you celebrating.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hopefully many of you have the day off from work. See,
- 0:11Speaker 1: we don't take days off around here. We're always working
- 0:14Speaker 1: seven days a week. We are here live after one
- 0:17Speaker 1: of traditionally the bigger AW pay per views of the year,
- 0:21Speaker 1: first Double or Nothing, of course, took place back in
- 0:23Speaker 1: twenty nineteen. I had the great privilege of being at
- 0:27Speaker 1: that show. That was a very memorable Double or Nothing,
- 0:31Speaker 1: And over the years AW has had some really good,
- 0:34Speaker 1: some great double or Nothing pay per views. AW in
- 0:38Speaker 1: general is known when it comes to the in ring,
- 0:42Speaker 1: known for having great pay per views, and it doesn't
- 0:45Speaker 1: happen all the time, but by and large their events
- 0:48Speaker 1: tend to be very good. You could talk about, you know,
- 0:51Speaker 1: certain shows maybe don't you know, deliver quite as much
- 0:54Speaker 1: as other ones, or the length of them generally speaking
- 0:57Speaker 1: to other excellent shows, I can sit here and tell
- 1:00Speaker 1: you that we are almost halfway now through the year.
- 1:05Speaker 1: This was easily the best pay per view plee call
- 1:09Speaker 1: them what you want of the entire year so far.
- 1:12Speaker 1: This was the show of the year so far. In
- 1:15Speaker 1: twenty twenty six. This may well have been the greatest
- 1:19Speaker 1: double or nothing that AW has ever produced, and it
- 1:22Speaker 1: will go down as one of the better pay per views,
- 1:24Speaker 1: the great pay per views of all time in AW.
- 1:30Speaker 1: That is the home run that they hit tonight at
- 1:31Speaker 1: Louis Armstrong Stadium. The head of her fourteen thousand people
- 1:35Speaker 1: sold out in that building couldn't run Arthur ashe because
- 1:39Speaker 1: it's under renovation right now. It does make me wonder, though,
- 1:41Speaker 1: if they had access to Arthur ash for this show,
- 1:45Speaker 1: could they have gotten closer to twenty thousand in that building.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I don't know if they would have hit twenty k
- 1:50Speaker 1: do I think they would have had a shot at it. Absolutely,
- 1:53Speaker 1: And New York did not let me down tonight because
- 1:56Speaker 1: that crowd tonight was fucking phenomenal, fantastic. I mean they
- 2:00Speaker 1: were hot from start to finish. I mean they cooled
- 2:02Speaker 1: off during some of the matches in the middle, but
- 2:04Speaker 1: again they peaked at the beginning and then they kind
- 2:07Speaker 1: of brought it down a little bit, and then when
- 2:10Speaker 1: they had to, they were there for the later matches
- 2:13Speaker 1: in the show, and they just added so much to it.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Just the overall energy level of the show was just
- 2:18Speaker 1: fucking fantastic, and hopefully that will not be the last
- 2:21Speaker 1: show that we see them running in that venue, because
- 2:24Speaker 1: it just was tremendous stuff tonight. One thing that was
- 2:27Speaker 1: also very noticeable about this show very little blood. The
- 2:32Speaker 1: blood that we got was hard way and it was
- 2:36Speaker 1: very very sparing throughout the show, and it was very
- 2:40Speaker 1: noticeable because typically on an aw pay per view, you
- 2:44Speaker 1: get a lot of blood and you get a lot
- 2:45Speaker 1: of gore, and we really didn't have any of that tonight.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And I'm assuming that had to do, you know, New York,
- 2:51Speaker 1: the commission here in New York. Maybe that had something
- 2:53Speaker 1: to do with it. I don't know, but I think
- 2:56Speaker 1: it was for the betterment of the show. I think
- 2:59Speaker 1: it made the show even because I am so desensitized
- 3:01Speaker 1: to it on these shows because we just see it
- 3:03Speaker 1: all the time. We see it in the opening match,
- 3:06Speaker 1: we see it in the middle matches, we see it
- 3:07Speaker 1: in the main events, we see it on TV every week.
- 3:10Speaker 1: That when I saw blood on the back of Darby
- 3:12Speaker 1: Allen's head in the main event tonight, when he came
- 3:15Speaker 1: off the tron, off the scaffolding and hit a coffin
- 3:19Speaker 1: drop to MJF throw a table and fucking bunked his
- 3:22Speaker 1: head on the way down and busted himself open. It
- 3:26Speaker 1: actually enhanced the match for me because I realized at
- 3:28Speaker 1: that moment, I said, holy shit, we haven't gotten hardly
- 3:32Speaker 1: any blood on this show. Little incidental blood here and there.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So that was something I definitely noticed, especially when it
- 3:39Speaker 1: came time for the main event. But again, in the
- 3:41Speaker 1: seven year history of this company, this was to me
- 3:44Speaker 1: the best double or nothing, one of the best pay
- 3:45Speaker 1: per views they've ever done, and they deserve all the
- 3:48Speaker 1: kudos for it. You know, on paper, it looked like
- 3:50Speaker 1: a strong show coming in. There were matches on there
- 3:53Speaker 1: that I looked at and I said, oh, man, like
- 3:55Speaker 1: Okata and Takeshta. I'm really looking forward to that match
- 3:58Speaker 1: Swerve in Bandita in the owen Hart Tournament. That's gonna
- 4:02Speaker 1: be a fucking great match. I can't wait to see
- 4:03Speaker 1: that anarchy in the arena last year I had a
- 4:07Speaker 1: ton of fun with So if Stadium Stampede is anything
- 4:10Speaker 1: like that, man, that's that's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And when the show was over, really top to bottom,
- 4:15Speaker 1: with very few exceptions, every single match delivered and then some.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I really don't have a whole lot negative to say
- 4:23Speaker 1: about that. You know, they really they put a lot
- 4:27Speaker 1: of work in tonight. I think up and down the card,
- 4:29Speaker 1: all the men and women on the cards, So that's
- 4:32Speaker 1: number one. But of course it was all built around
- 4:34Speaker 1: the main event. They sold a lot of tickets on
- 4:38Speaker 1: the idea that MJF might actually get his head shaved
- 4:41Speaker 1: bald tonight, and realistically I didn't really think it was
- 4:45Speaker 1: going to happen. But it was also more because I
- 4:48Speaker 1: just couldn't the thought of MJF going in there after
- 4:52Speaker 1: having already lost to Darby Allen in like two minutes,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and then losing to Kevin Knight, so he didn't have
- 4:59Speaker 1: a lot of moments him here, coming into this match,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and then going in there and losing to Darby again,
- 5:04Speaker 1: forget even getting his head shaved, to go in there
- 5:08Speaker 1: tonight and lose again to someone who you had to
- 5:11Speaker 1: know he was on borrowed time, right, This is the
- 5:14Speaker 1: story that they've been telling on television now for weeks.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Darby is defending his championship weekly, sometimes multiple times a week.
- 5:22Speaker 1: He's taking all of these ridiculous bumps and all of
- 5:25Speaker 1: these crazy risks he's burning the candle at both ends.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You mean to tell me that MJF is going to
- 5:30Speaker 1: lose to this guy again and he can't find a
- 5:32Speaker 1: way to beat Darby Allen. It just wouldn't have made
- 5:34Speaker 1: any sense. So I was pretty confident that he was
- 5:38Speaker 1: going to walk out with that championship. But you can
- 5:39Speaker 1: never be sure, right. I even said on the SoundOff
- 5:42Speaker 1: earlier today, I wonder because they're really pushing this hair stipulation,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and I'm wondering if they could actually have their cake
- 5:49Speaker 1: and eat it too where he wins the belt back.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But then they find a way to actually get his
- 5:54Speaker 1: head shaved anyway, right, So the fans get to see
- 5:56Speaker 1: that too, and they get like the happy ending there
- 5:58Speaker 1: at the end. But I'm glad they didn't do that,
- 6:01Speaker 1: right MJF one, he doesn't get his head shaved. We did, however,
- 6:05Speaker 1: have a little bit of a surprise, but not really,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I guess at the end of the show. I wasn't
- 6:11Speaker 1: expecting to see it tonight. But if you have been
- 6:14Speaker 1: watching Dynamite, and if you've been watching the streams, as
- 6:18Speaker 1: I talk about Dynamite every week, the Kevin Knight stuff,
- 6:23Speaker 1: Kevin Knight has just been the other day when he
- 6:25Speaker 1: cut that promo in the ring where he came out
- 6:27Speaker 1: and completely overshadowed Darby and Speedball on Wednesday even made
- 6:30Speaker 1: the comment then I said, man, it came up as
- 6:33Speaker 1: very heelish to me, so some people thought maybe Speedball
- 6:36Speaker 1: was going to be going heel soon. I said, you know,
- 6:38Speaker 1: of the two, it really should be Kevin Knight. I
- 6:41Speaker 1: think it would be Kevin Knight. I can't picture Speedball
- 6:44Speaker 1: as a heel. If anybody is going to go heal,
- 6:46Speaker 1: I think it's going to be Kevin Knight. What I
- 6:49Speaker 1: was not expecting was for them to shoot the angle tonight.
- 6:52Speaker 1: If anything, I thought maybe they would have saved it
- 6:54Speaker 1: for TV. They did it tonight where Darby Allen after
- 6:57Speaker 1: losing the AW World Championship to MJF now eight three
- 7:01Speaker 1: times AW World champion by the age of thirty, Kevin
- 7:05Speaker 1: Knight comes out, chases MJF away. Darby Allen is strapped
- 7:10Speaker 1: to a fricking stretcher. He can't move, he can't do nothing,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and Kevin Knight comes off the top down to the
- 7:16Speaker 1: floor with a UFO splash, and the announcers are why
- 7:20Speaker 1: Kevin Knight, Why why would you do this to Darby
- 7:24Speaker 1: Allen because he let all of them down. Kevin Knight
- 7:29Speaker 1: cut this promo on Wednesday. This really like over the top,
- 7:32Speaker 1: big pep speech, big pep talk for Darby Allen, where
- 7:35Speaker 1: we believe in you and everything is riding on you. Everybody.
- 7:38Speaker 1: You got to go in there and represent the company.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You got to beat this guy and he failed, and
- 7:45Speaker 1: so Kevin Knight decided to do what he did tonight.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It could be as simple as that. Although I think
- 7:51Speaker 1: we just got a glimpse into what Darby's match may
- 7:53Speaker 1: be for Wembley Stadium this year. I suspect we're not
- 7:56Speaker 1: going to be seeing Darby for a little bit before
- 7:58Speaker 1: he makes the big comeback. Darby Allen, let me tell
- 8:00Speaker 1: you something, Darby Allen always does stupid shit. Darby Allen
- 8:04Speaker 1: took some bumps in this match. Sent He took a
- 8:05Speaker 1: bump in this match in the first thirty seconds that
- 8:09Speaker 1: made me shout. I actually I actually gasped when I
- 8:13Speaker 1: saw this bump and it was on a suicide dive.
- 8:16Speaker 1: The only person at wrestling who takes that literally, Darby Allen.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And that was just a little taste of what this
- 8:23Speaker 1: guy went on to do in this match. That's who
- 8:26Speaker 1: Darby is. But he's been having title defense after title
- 8:29Speaker 1: defense and it all ran out for him tonight, and
- 8:33Speaker 1: I just don't understand, you know, why you would want
- 8:36Speaker 1: to not give him some time off. So I suspect
- 8:38Speaker 1: that we will not see him for a little bit.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Let him rest up, let him heal up, and then
- 8:44Speaker 1: we'll get him back and we'll get the match with
- 8:45Speaker 1: Kevin Knight. MJF winning the championship, though, was hardly a
- 8:49Speaker 1: surprise here on this show. Stadium Stampede, Now, we knew
- 8:53Speaker 1: coming into this that Stadium Stampede was going to be
- 8:55Speaker 1: a cluster fuck. I mean, what else could it be.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You got fourteen guys out there, and they're all going
- 9:02Speaker 1: to be doing all kinds of wacky shit all over
- 9:04Speaker 1: the building, right, so you kind of knew what to expect.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Maybe the biggest surprise to me is that they didn't
- 9:09Speaker 1: adopt the typical I guess blueprint of the anarchy in
- 9:15Speaker 1: the arena matches where we have the music playing in
- 9:18Speaker 1: the background. Otherwise it was basically anarchy in the arena,
- 9:21Speaker 1: just without the music. But it was just mass chaos
- 9:24Speaker 1: for thirty minutes. If I have one real critique, it
- 9:28Speaker 1: would be that it went thirty minutes. It did not
- 9:31Speaker 1: need to go thirty minutes. We definitely got to a
- 9:33Speaker 1: point in the Stampede match where I was like, you
- 9:35Speaker 1: know what, you could have achieved the same thing and
- 9:38Speaker 1: shaved off eight to ten minutes. It did go a
- 9:41Speaker 1: little It did go a little long, but I had
- 9:44Speaker 1: fun with it because I knew what to expect coming in. Again,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I mentioned the match last year. I had a lot
- 9:49Speaker 1: of fun with that anarchy in the arena match last year.
- 9:51Speaker 1: They always tried to come up with some funny, stupid
- 9:53Speaker 1: shit to do. You kind of know what to expect
- 9:56Speaker 1: going into it. There's going to be a lot of
- 9:57Speaker 1: nose selling because it's just constant going from one spot
- 10:01Speaker 1: to another. I mean, it's a spot fest. That's what
- 10:03Speaker 1: it is. It is a spotfest. Everybody has their spots
- 10:07Speaker 1: that they do and they try to make it entertaining.
- 10:10Speaker 1: They try to make it comical, they try to make
- 10:12Speaker 1: it amusing. And again maybe they were handicapped in that
- 10:15Speaker 1: they couldn't go over the top with the violence because
- 10:19Speaker 1: for all this, think about it, all the stuff that
- 10:21Speaker 1: they were doing in that match, you didn't have the blood.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You didn't have the gore, you didn't have like some
- 10:26Speaker 1: of the stuff they do on these pay per views.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You didn't have that in this match, right, So they
- 10:30Speaker 1: had to be silly and they had to come up
- 10:32Speaker 1: with other creative ways, right to keep people engaged. So
- 10:36Speaker 1: that would be my only critique of that. I just
- 10:37Speaker 1: think it went on for longer than it had to.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But I had fun with that match, the match that
- 10:42Speaker 1: I personally was looking forward to the most because it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: been something that has been I think, very well built.
- 10:48Speaker 1: People talk about story in AAW they don't do enough
- 10:51Speaker 1: story or we hear that criticism a lot, and they
- 10:54Speaker 1: do tell stories in AAW. They're not always great stories,
- 10:58Speaker 1: but they do tell stories in this company. One story
- 11:00Speaker 1: that I have been all in on from the moment
- 11:03Speaker 1: it started Canoskate Takashta, Kazuchko Kata and the fact that
- 11:10Speaker 1: neither one of these men have any love for the other,
- 11:13Speaker 1: yet they're both part of the same heel faction and
- 11:16Speaker 1: they've been building tensions between these guys now for what
- 11:18Speaker 1: feels like more than a year. We got a little
- 11:21Speaker 1: taste of it back in December in the Continental Classic,
- 11:26Speaker 1: but I said at the time, I said it was
- 11:28Speaker 1: a good match back in December on that pay per view,
- 11:30Speaker 1: it's good. It was good, but it was not what
- 11:33Speaker 1: I know these guys can deliver. I was still waiting
- 11:36Speaker 1: for that match between them where they just went balls
- 11:40Speaker 1: out and they had the match that I know the
- 11:43Speaker 1: two of them can put together. And then I started
- 11:46Speaker 1: worrying that Tony Khan was gonna wait. He was going
- 11:48Speaker 1: to hold off on it until they got to Wembley Stadium,
- 11:50Speaker 1: and I said, boy, that's still still long ways away.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I don't know how much longer you can really drag
- 11:56Speaker 1: this out for. And tonight we got the match that
- 11:59Speaker 1: I was hoping we would get. That was to me,
- 12:01Speaker 1: it was perfect that match right there for me really
- 12:06Speaker 1: the opener. I won't take anything away from the opener,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but that match to me is what really defined this
- 12:11Speaker 1: show and set the tone for me for the rest
- 12:14Speaker 1: of the show, because when that match was over, to me,
- 12:16Speaker 1: it was just perfection. It was everything I was hoping
- 12:20Speaker 1: that match would be, right down to the finish and
- 12:23Speaker 1: Takeshta winning the International Championship, and then we got a
- 12:27Speaker 1: little bit of a surprise at the end with a
- 12:29Speaker 1: return of Kyle Fletcher, who I was not expecting to
- 12:32Speaker 1: see back on television this soon. I mean the way
- 12:35Speaker 1: that his injuries were being described in some of these
- 12:37Speaker 1: online reports, I mean you would think that he injured,
- 12:41Speaker 1: he injured multiple parts of his lower anatomy, and we
- 12:45Speaker 1: weren't going to see this guy for at least nine months.
- 12:48Speaker 1: He missed two and he was back tonight and he
- 12:52Speaker 1: looked to be in tip top shape. So that's quite
- 12:55Speaker 1: the pick up there. Quite the addition now that Tony
- 12:58Speaker 1: Khan has in getting Kyle Fletcher, who turned his back
- 13:02Speaker 1: on Kenoski Takesha. Takesha has officially been booted from the
- 13:07Speaker 1: Kallus family, which I think most of us probably figured
- 13:10Speaker 1: was going to happen anyway, and now they've set up
- 13:13Speaker 1: a potential match for him again. I think looking ahead
- 13:16Speaker 1: to Wembley Stadium, I think we can kind of see
- 13:18Speaker 1: what that TNT Championship match is probably going to be.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But that match was fucking incredible that they had tonight
- 13:26Speaker 1: the Tag Team Championships on the line tonight, that was
- 13:30Speaker 1: in the opening match, and we have new Tag Team champions.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Their names are Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. They would
- 13:39Speaker 1: not be able to team together anymore if they did
- 13:42Speaker 1: not win that match. I don't know how many people
- 13:44Speaker 1: honestly bought into that, but suffice it to say they
- 13:48Speaker 1: did finally win the tag team titles. Fish D, I
- 13:52Speaker 1: certainly hope you're not talking about me, because you don't
- 13:55Speaker 1: want me going off on you. So just little word
- 13:58Speaker 1: to the wise. There, little word of warning there for Fishead.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But we also had the first of the owen Hart
- 14:03Speaker 1: Tournament matches tonight. We had three of them here on
- 14:06Speaker 1: this show, and it's hard to go back and forth
- 14:10Speaker 1: between the two men's matches because the two men's matches
- 14:13Speaker 1: were excellent tonight will Osbury beating Samoa Joe, we had
- 14:17Speaker 1: Swerved Strickland beating Bandido. Pretty clear what the direction is
- 14:22Speaker 1: going to be, I think for Forbidden Door next month.
- 14:25Speaker 1: But even the women's match that we had with Mina
- 14:27Speaker 1: Shirakawa and Athena tonight, it kind of I don't envy
- 14:31Speaker 1: the two of them being in the position that they
- 14:33Speaker 1: were put in on the card. I still think they
- 14:36Speaker 1: went out there though, and had a good match. But
- 14:38Speaker 1: we're going to talk about this entire card here, from
- 14:40Speaker 1: top to bottom. This was an excellent, excellent pay per view.
- 14:43Speaker 1: This is your aw Double or Nothing twenty twenty six review.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I am the Solemn Monster. I know it's very late,
- 14:51Speaker 1: so I will try to get you out of here
- 14:53Speaker 1: as soon as I can, but hopefully you'll enjoy your stay.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I know some of you guys are in different time zones,
- 14:59Speaker 1: so it's not it is late for you as it
- 15:02Speaker 1: is here on the East Coast. And then of course
- 15:04Speaker 1: we have our folks over in Europe who were looking
- 15:08Speaker 1: at this, probably going oh poor you w at fucking
- 15:12Speaker 1: four o'clock, five o'clock in the morning, where some of
- 15:14Speaker 1: you are, Oh, I don't end you guys anyway, like
- 15:18Speaker 1: and subscribe. Super chats are open, so get your messages
- 15:22Speaker 1: on in and I will be reading them a little
- 15:24Speaker 1: bit later on here on the stream. We are going
- 15:26Speaker 1: to spin the wheel in case we hit our like
- 15:28Speaker 1: skull for tonight, and we will do our be the
- 15:32Speaker 1: Booker segment a little bit later on Jeremy's on the
- 15:36Speaker 1: East Coast. Okay, so Jeremy knows. See the thing is though,
- 15:39Speaker 1: it's Memorial Day, so most of you should not be
- 15:42Speaker 1: working tomorrow at least I hope that would make it
- 15:48Speaker 1: far worse, let's see how many likes we need and
- 15:55Speaker 1: then we'll get into this here four seventy five. I
- 15:59Speaker 1: think that's going to be very easy for us tonight,
- 16:02Speaker 1: considering we're already almost at four hundred worth three ninety four,
- 16:06Speaker 1: so we need less than one hundred more likes. I
- 16:08Speaker 1: think we are all but guaranteed to be the booker tonight.
- 16:11Speaker 1: So again, hit that like button. I want to take
- 16:14Speaker 1: it back to the buy in. I'm not going to
- 16:16Speaker 1: spend too much time here on the pre show, but
- 16:18Speaker 1: a few things that I want to just go through
- 16:20Speaker 1: here and then we'll get into the main card on
- 16:23Speaker 1: the buy in. Though we had new hosts, and I
- 16:26Speaker 1: think this is the way it's going to be going forward.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I think that's what Tony Kahn said the other day.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Renee Piquette was in the ring to open the show
- 16:33Speaker 1: to introduce us to her co host and the newest
- 16:36Speaker 1: addition to AW, the WWE Hall of Famer no longer
- 16:42Speaker 1: with WWE, McK foley, who came out. Of course, they
- 16:46Speaker 1: were in New York. Mcfoley got a huge reaction coming
- 16:49Speaker 1: out to the ring. This was officially his AW debut
- 16:53Speaker 1: here tonight and Tony Kahan tweeted earlier tonight making it
- 16:57Speaker 1: official that McK folly is All Elite, so he has
- 17:04Speaker 1: signed with AW. This was not a one off. We
- 17:07Speaker 1: will be seeing him on the regular. He will be
- 17:09Speaker 1: appearing on the pre shows, He will be making select
- 17:11Speaker 1: appearances on television. He will be doing ambassador work for
- 17:15Speaker 1: the company. And I am certain that at some point
- 17:19Speaker 1: he will get that itch and he will be wrestling
- 17:23Speaker 1: in AW. And I don't think he needs to wrestle.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I don't want to see him wrestle in AAW. But
- 17:29Speaker 1: you and I both know this fucking guy's gonna wrestle.
- 17:31Speaker 1: He's probably watching Darby Allenton. It's taken everything in him
- 17:34Speaker 1: not to go out there and jump off something. God
- 17:37Speaker 1: bless mcfoley. Yes, mcfoley is officially All Elite, So they
- 17:42Speaker 1: made that official, and Folly talked about how this was
- 17:46Speaker 1: one of the biggest nights of his life being here.
- 17:49Speaker 1: It's been some time since he's been on a big
- 17:50Speaker 1: show like this, and fifteen years ago he had lunch
- 17:55Speaker 1: with Tony Kahan. They've known each other for quite some time.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He's considered him a friend ever since, and so he
- 18:00Speaker 1: is happy to be here in AW yes, Foley in
- 18:03Speaker 1: mox Folly in Darby. I'm telling you it's inevitable. There
- 18:09Speaker 1: is no way, there is absolutely no way that Mick
- 18:12Speaker 1: Foley is going to be hanging around these shows, especially
- 18:16Speaker 1: like with some of these like these infectious crowds and
- 18:19Speaker 1: you get these really energetic crowds and not going to
- 18:22Speaker 1: be tempted to get back in the ring. And Tony
- 18:24Speaker 1: Khan the other day actually said, Tony Khan did not
- 18:27Speaker 1: come out and say no, no, no, you know, we're
- 18:28Speaker 1: we're not doing that with Foley. He's not here to wrestle.
- 18:32Speaker 1: He all but said like, yeah, if Mick wants to wrestle,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'd love for him to wrestle for us. You know,
- 18:39Speaker 1: on the inside, he's like he's dying for he wants
- 18:41Speaker 1: Cactus jackets. But the worst way. I wonder if he'd
- 18:45Speaker 1: be able to be Cactus Jack. It's a good question.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I wonder who owns the trademark for Cactus Jack or
- 18:54Speaker 1: would he have to be Mick Foley. It's a good question.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I would imagine WWE has some ownership
- 19:01Speaker 1: over that. Anyway. We had three matches on the pre show.
- 19:05Speaker 1: We had Divine Dominion, the Women's tag team Champions Meghan
- 19:07Speaker 1: Bain Leana Cross in a five minute challenge. This was
- 19:12Speaker 1: an eliminator challenge against Viva Van and Zeta Steele the challengers,
- 19:17Speaker 1: I mean they tried to stall for a little bit.
- 19:19Speaker 1: This is more competitive than I thought it would be
- 19:20Speaker 1: considering it came down to the last fifteen seconds. But
- 19:24Speaker 1: the end result was what you would expect it to be,
- 19:27Speaker 1: double chokes lamb finished by the Champions. They pin Zeta
- 19:30Speaker 1: to win it when it was over. Now they came
- 19:32Speaker 1: out to the ring with the challengers. Did not that
- 19:36Speaker 1: this was a title match, but they came out with
- 19:39Speaker 1: Christopher Daniels in their corner. So when the match was over,
- 19:43Speaker 1: the Champions beat up Daniels and then they laid out
- 19:46Speaker 1: Viva Van until Anna j and Ty Conti ran out
- 19:49Speaker 1: and chased off the champions. So that was that. We
- 19:52Speaker 1: had the ops hook Kattieri Shabata and Anthony Bowens in
- 19:56Speaker 1: a trio's match against the Death Riders Claudio danil Garcia
- 20:01Speaker 1: and Wheeler Yuda. What got the most heat was when
- 20:05Speaker 1: Shabata wanted Claudio in the ring, and so when the
- 20:09Speaker 1: two of them were in the ring and they were
- 20:10Speaker 1: going at it. That really had the crowd amped up
- 20:13Speaker 1: more than anything else here in this match. I don't
- 20:17Speaker 1: like the finish. I don't like the Death Riders going
- 20:19Speaker 1: over here. The reason I don't like it is because
- 20:21Speaker 1: they just added Anthony Bowens to the Ops, and we
- 20:25Speaker 1: already knew Samoa Joe was not winning his match on
- 20:29Speaker 1: the pay per view, so at the very least you
- 20:31Speaker 1: would hope, like on the undercard, they would throw a
- 20:34Speaker 1: little bone here to the other members of the Ops,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and they couldn't even do that. The Death Riders go over.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It did come down to Anthony Bowens having to fight
- 20:41Speaker 1: all three of them off all by himself, and it
- 20:44Speaker 1: was Anthony Bowens, of all people, who took the losing fall.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Here Claudio picks up the win. I mean, I guess
- 20:50Speaker 1: Claudio is in the owen, so maybe they want to
- 20:54Speaker 1: keep him strong until he loses to whoever he's going
- 20:56Speaker 1: to lose to in there. But at least they're trying
- 20:59Speaker 1: something with right. I don't see them doing anything right
- 21:02Speaker 1: now with Max Castor, but you know, with Anthony Bowens,
- 21:05Speaker 1: there's something there. It should not have taken them this
- 21:07Speaker 1: long to try to do something and give him some
- 21:10Speaker 1: sort of serious push. With any luck, he'll get some
- 21:14Speaker 1: exposure out of this, more than he would be getting otherwise.
- 21:18Speaker 1: But I thought he should pick up the win here,
- 21:21Speaker 1: but Tony felt otherwise. And then we have Boom and Doom.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We had Q T. Marshall, Big Boom AJ, who's like
- 21:31Speaker 1: the MVP now of these pre shows. They dust him off,
- 21:34Speaker 1: they bring him in. He's always on the pre show.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Harley Cameron was out there with them. The Wrizzler was
- 21:40Speaker 1: out there, touching his face. You know, that's the Rizzler.
- 21:43Speaker 1: They teamed up with the Conglomeration Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and Mark Briscoe to take on Shane Taylor Promotions. This
- 21:50Speaker 1: was a sponsored match, so we had the Vida Coco mascot.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I don't know what the fuck. Vida Cocoa as some
- 22:00Speaker 1: sort of beverage apparently. I don't know if it's some
- 22:02Speaker 1: sort of Is it just like a drink or is
- 22:06Speaker 1: it some sort of supplement. I don't know. I assume
- 22:11Speaker 1: it's some sort of juice. But they had the Vita
- 22:14Speaker 1: Coco mascot like a juice box. That's the mascot. Come
- 22:19Speaker 1: out with the baby faces to the ring. As if
- 22:21Speaker 1: we have not gotten enough mascots on wrestling television lately.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Coconut water. I'm being told it is coconut water. I see.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I have not tried coconut water. This did not move
- 22:36Speaker 1: me to try coconut water. But if I ever want
- 22:38Speaker 1: to try coconut water, now I know what to try.
- 22:43Speaker 1: It ended with a Tower of Doom spot with Big
- 22:46Speaker 1: Justice and the Rizzler, the two kids spraying the coconut
- 22:50Speaker 1: water in the face of one of the heels, which
- 22:54Speaker 1: allowed for a triple power bomb spot and the baby
- 22:56Speaker 1: Face has got the win. Unfortunately, fortunately there was an
- 23:02Speaker 1: injury and so Qt. Marshall was up there on the
- 23:05Speaker 1: ropes and he was climbing to the top rope and
- 23:09Speaker 1: you could tell like he lost his balance and you
- 23:12Speaker 1: were like, hopefully he'll recover, and he didn't recover, and
- 23:15Speaker 1: he fell, but he fell straight down. You know, It's
- 23:19Speaker 1: not like he fell landed on his fucking head. But
- 23:22Speaker 1: when he landed, it was very clear that he was
- 23:25Speaker 1: in pain and he was favoring his knee on the landing,
- 23:29Speaker 1: so he was limping around. They sat him down in
- 23:33Speaker 1: a chair out because I was watching it like in
- 23:35Speaker 1: the corner of the screen. They sat him down on
- 23:37Speaker 1: a chair, he pulled his knee pad down. The doctor
- 23:39Speaker 1: came over to check on him, and so I don't
- 23:42Speaker 1: know how serious it is. Apparently he was helped to
- 23:45Speaker 1: the back. Hopefully it's nothing too serious, but that sucks.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Big Boom AJ's face was also bloodied up. I think
- 23:52Speaker 1: he got a cut on his neck and it just
- 23:55Speaker 1: the blood sort of smeared on his face. So when
- 23:57Speaker 1: I mentioned earlier like there was very little blood this
- 24:00Speaker 1: this was like some of the only blood on the
- 24:02Speaker 1: show and it was just incidental. So again I didn't
- 24:05Speaker 1: see what happened. Maybe he fucking I don't know. Maybe
- 24:07Speaker 1: he started shaving during the match and he cut himself.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I don't know, but he had blood smear, Like the
- 24:12Speaker 1: Rizzler is standing in the ring and big Justices there
- 24:15Speaker 1: and fucking this's Big boom Aj with blood fucking smeared
- 24:18Speaker 1: all over his face at the end of the mess.
- 24:20Speaker 1: So it turned into a bit of a mess there
- 24:23Speaker 1: at the end. And then Shane Taylor Promotions, they're all
- 24:27Speaker 1: surrounding the ring on the apron, It's like, what's going
- 24:30Speaker 1: to happen here? And they play Eddie Kingston's music and
- 24:35Speaker 1: what do he have like a backpack on or something.
- 24:38Speaker 1: He looked like a tourist. He looked like like an
- 24:42Speaker 1: escaped tourist. And he comes running down to the ring,
- 24:44Speaker 1: gets this huge pot from the crowd. Him or Tease
- 24:49Speaker 1: Man's Warner who caused a little controversy the other day.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I talked about that on the sound off earlier. So
- 24:55Speaker 1: they all came out. Apparently they're all feuding with Shane
- 24:58Speaker 1: Taylor Promotions and Ring of Honor and whatever. So they
- 25:02Speaker 1: cut back to Renee and Mick in the ring after this,
- 25:05Speaker 1: and they're talking about the main event tonight, and Foley
- 25:08Speaker 1: is talking about MJF and he mentions, how you know
- 25:13Speaker 1: he himself he has metal hips and all the injuries
- 25:16Speaker 1: that Foley has had. MJF meanwhile has hair plugs from Turkey,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and he predicts that Darby Allen is going to go
- 25:23Speaker 1: home tonight with the aw World Championship that brought out MJF.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So we didn't have to wait very long. Tony Kahn
- 25:32Speaker 1: brings in Mick Foley on day one. They've already got
- 25:35Speaker 1: Fully and MJF in the ring together cutting promos on
- 25:38Speaker 1: each other. And this is on the pre show, so
- 25:42Speaker 1: MJF said that he would care about the fans' opinions
- 25:44Speaker 1: more if they weren't stupid enough to believe the Knicks
- 25:47Speaker 1: are going to win a championship. I look, I don't
- 25:51Speaker 1: know if the Knicks are going to win a championship.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure they're gonna sweep Cleveland out into the
- 25:56Speaker 1: dumpster in the next couple of days. Beyond that, I
- 25:59Speaker 1: have no idea. What I can tell you is that
- 26:02Speaker 1: if Dan Housen wants to work his magic, it's done
- 26:06Speaker 1: pretty well for the Knicks so far. Ever since he
- 26:09Speaker 1: uncursed the Knicks, they've gone ten to zero. So they
- 26:13Speaker 1: can keep that momentum going. All they gotta do is
- 26:16Speaker 1: get Dan House in a front row seat, just get
- 26:18Speaker 1: him a court side seat. And I think that championship
- 26:21Speaker 1: belongs to them. So I'm JF again. He's cutting a
- 26:27Speaker 1: promo here on the crowd and fully said, look, he
- 26:31Speaker 1: never thought he would have this moment again, because he
- 26:34Speaker 1: had goosebumps on his arms. He's like, let me just
- 26:36Speaker 1: take this all in, let me enjoy this moment here
- 26:38Speaker 1: for a little bit. Fully said, yes, I've lost a
- 26:42Speaker 1: lot of matches. He mentioned the rock by name the
- 26:45Speaker 1: Rock got booed. I don't know what that's about. He
- 26:48Speaker 1: mentioned the Rock, you know, Dwayne Johnson, and this fucking
- 26:52Speaker 1: crowd booed the shit out of the Rock. He said
- 26:56Speaker 1: none of those matches though, ended in two minutes. In
- 26:59Speaker 1: change right, alluding to MJF losing to Darby in two minutes,
- 27:04Speaker 1: he goes, that's not a loss, that's a disgrace and
- 27:08Speaker 1: fully told MJF to put his big boy pants on
- 27:10Speaker 1: if he wants to deal with Darby. See Fully, he
- 27:14Speaker 1: was content to just go out there when he was
- 27:15Speaker 1: wrestling and just steal the show for Darby. Though that's
- 27:19Speaker 1: not really good enough. He wants to go out there.
- 27:21Speaker 1: He doesn't want to just keep the aw World Championship.
- 27:24Speaker 1: He wants to take your hair. And as he got
- 27:27Speaker 1: closer to MJF, he's looking at his head and he goes,
- 27:30Speaker 1: I notice that your hair is wavy. He goes, well,
- 27:33Speaker 1: you're gonna be waving goodbye to your hair when this
- 27:36Speaker 1: night is over. So MJF kicked Folly in the ball,
- 27:39Speaker 1: so already he's taking a bump and he kind of
- 27:42Speaker 1: staggers into the ropes and then he takes a bump
- 27:44Speaker 1: and falls down on the mat. Darby Allen sprints out
- 27:48Speaker 1: to the ring. MJF gets the hell out of Dodge
- 27:51Speaker 1: and Foley's not done yet. He's screaming into the microphone.
- 27:54Speaker 1: He says to MJF, don't run, don't run. He says,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I didn't know until about a month ago that I
- 28:02Speaker 1: had inspired Darby's career, and he brought up Darby Allen
- 28:06Speaker 1: wrestling John Moxley at six Flags Great Adventure in New
- 28:10Speaker 1: Jerseys some years ago, saying that this kid can do anything,
- 28:15Speaker 1: and fully stuck around and he watched that very thing happen,
- 28:18Speaker 1: and he said, like himself, Darby was the weird kid,
- 28:21Speaker 1: never picked for stardom, but he showed that he can
- 28:23Speaker 1: do it. And he told Darby to win one tonight
- 28:26Speaker 1: for the weird ones. I said, I said earlier on
- 28:30Speaker 1: the sound though, from mister Soako to mister Siico, that's
- 28:34Speaker 1: what he is. He's mister Sicko now. And he goes,
- 28:38Speaker 1: if I can quote an old friend of mine, bang Bang,
- 28:41Speaker 1: Darby Allen bang Bang. I thought this was a great
- 28:46Speaker 1: use of folly to help promote your pay per view
- 28:49Speaker 1: made event. Here in the closing minutes of your pre
- 28:51Speaker 1: show that's what the pre show should be for, right.
- 28:54Speaker 1: You had to imagine that there would be some people
- 28:55Speaker 1: who would want to tune in when they heard Foley
- 28:57Speaker 1: was going to be there just to see, you know,
- 28:58Speaker 1: what he was going to be doing, because a we
- 29:01Speaker 1: haven't seen fully on television in years, really, and he's
- 29:06Speaker 1: obviously now working for a different company. So if you
- 29:09Speaker 1: have these eyeballs on the pre show and now he's
- 29:12Speaker 1: out there interacting with one half of your main event tonight,
- 29:14Speaker 1: you're really leaning into this idea that he's going to
- 29:16Speaker 1: get his head shaved. To me, that's a much better way.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It's a much better hook for this pay per view
- 29:21Speaker 1: than having a pre show match that gets cut off
- 29:24Speaker 1: by the top of the hour and just spills over
- 29:26Speaker 1: into the opening of the pay per view. And they've
- 29:28Speaker 1: done that a few times this year. But I thought
- 29:30Speaker 1: this was a very effective way to use fully on
- 29:32Speaker 1: his first night, and that led into the pay per view.
- 29:35Speaker 1: They opened the main card of tonight's show with Adam
- 29:38Speaker 1: Copeland and Christian Cage challenging FTR for the aw tag
- 29:43Speaker 1: team titles. This was an I Quit New York street
- 29:47Speaker 1: fight where Christian and Copeland failed to win the titles.
- 29:52Speaker 1: They can never again team up together. Some of the
- 29:56Speaker 1: crowds lately, if you've watched when Copeland is there, and
- 30:00Speaker 1: it really depends on how big the venue is in
- 30:02Speaker 1: what city they're in, but I've noticed some of these crowds,
- 30:05Speaker 1: like when they cut off his altar Bridge theme and
- 30:09Speaker 1: they wait for the crowd to sing along. In some
- 30:12Speaker 1: of these cities, it's kind of pathetic, you know, where
- 30:15Speaker 1: it kind of like tapers off, like Peter's out and
- 30:18Speaker 1: it's like they're waiting, but they don't really get into it.
- 30:20Speaker 1: This was not one of those nights. This was absolutely
- 30:23Speaker 1: not one of those nights. They killed the music, they left,
- 30:26Speaker 1: and the fans just full throated. They just kept singing
- 30:29Speaker 1: the song and singing the song and singing the song,
- 30:32Speaker 1: and they were going crazy for it. Stokely halfaway. Early
- 30:37Speaker 1: in this match, he handed a strand of barbed wire
- 30:41Speaker 1: to Dax Harwood to wrap around his fist. Christian though
- 30:45Speaker 1: ended up wrapping it around the middle rope instead, and
- 30:48Speaker 1: there was a drop toll hold. Dax ended up on
- 30:51Speaker 1: the ropes basically in the barb wire, and it was
- 30:54Speaker 1: like it was after this. It was honestly after this match,
- 30:57Speaker 1: because looks like every time FTR wrestles on one of
- 31:00Speaker 1: these big shows, they fucking bleed, like Dax bleeds all
- 31:03Speaker 1: the time. The fact that he didn't bleed here I
- 31:06Speaker 1: think was a big giveaway, like, Okay, something's up here.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Probably not gonna be getting a lot of blood on
- 31:11Speaker 1: the show tonight, because if f FTR didn't bleed and
- 31:13Speaker 1: Moxley didn't bleed, there's something going on. But he at
- 31:19Speaker 1: one point took out a toolbox Dax did. He went
- 31:22Speaker 1: to go use it on cage as a weapon and
- 31:26Speaker 1: the pliers got pulled out. He was wrenching at Dax's nose.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Harwood's yelling into the microphone. No, no, no, because against
- 31:33Speaker 1: an I quit match right, no pins, no submissions. They
- 31:37Speaker 1: end up outside with Copeland. Copeland took a spike pile
- 31:40Speaker 1: driver onto the Spanish announced desk, so Wheeler jumped from
- 31:44Speaker 1: the English announced desk to the other one where Dax
- 31:47Speaker 1: had Copeland spike pile driver. That took Copeland out of
- 31:50Speaker 1: the picture for several minutes. So Christian was all by
- 31:53Speaker 1: himself and I don't know where he got it from.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I guess under the ring. But Wheeler brought out a
- 31:59Speaker 1: cinder block, and they did this weird spot where they
- 32:04Speaker 1: had Christians injured forearm, like being held down on top
- 32:07Speaker 1: of the steps, and I think the spot was supposed
- 32:09Speaker 1: to be they were going to hit him with a
- 32:10Speaker 1: cinder block. Christian moved out of the way at the
- 32:12Speaker 1: very last second and so they took his arm and
- 32:15Speaker 1: they put it through There was like a hole, an
- 32:17Speaker 1: opening in the cinder block. They put his arm through
- 32:20Speaker 1: the cinder block and held it there, and then Dax
- 32:22Speaker 1: took a chair to the cinder block. So it makes
- 32:26Speaker 1: a great noise. But like I'm watching this spot and
- 32:28Speaker 1: I'm like, this is stupid. See even Oscar agrees. I'm like,
- 32:36Speaker 1: I'm watching this, I go, why would that have eddie
- 32:39Speaker 1: effect on his on his hand, like just fucking hit
- 32:41Speaker 1: him with the fucking chair. But he's smacking the cinder
- 32:45Speaker 1: block three or four times with it and cage. They
- 32:48Speaker 1: asked him do you want to quit? And he says, oh,
- 32:50Speaker 1: fuck yourself. Actually know what was it that he said?
- 32:53Speaker 1: I think at that part is where he said I
- 32:56Speaker 1: fucked your mother or something like that, and then the
- 32:58Speaker 1: crowd ends up bursting into you know, he fucked your mom?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Chant never thought I'd hear that chant on this show.
- 33:07Speaker 1: But here we are. So anyway, a little bit later
- 33:11Speaker 1: on in the match, here Harwood was in a bad position.
- 33:16Speaker 1: He was in a compromising position. He was on his
- 33:18Speaker 1: knees and he's begging off. Wheeler sees this. He's outside
- 33:23Speaker 1: the ring. He gets a mic and he goes, no, no, no, no, no,
- 33:26Speaker 1: don't because Copeland had a chair. Don't I'll say it.
- 33:29Speaker 1: He says, right, they're stalling. I'll say it. I'll say it.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And it was just a distraction. Stokely Hathaway. He ends
- 33:38Speaker 1: up hitting Copeland with Christian's gold watch. Now, how many
- 33:42Speaker 1: of you remember the gold watch that he swiped about
- 33:45Speaker 1: a month ago from Christian's wrist. I barely remembered it myself.
- 33:51Speaker 1: But he had the gold watch. He used it as
- 33:54Speaker 1: a weapon here and so FTR they tried to connect
- 33:57Speaker 1: with a shatter machine. When all of us sudden we
- 34:00Speaker 1: hear Beth Copeland's theme. We have not seen Edge's wife.
- 34:05Speaker 1: We have not seen Copeland's wife since all out last fall.
- 34:10Speaker 1: She took a spike pile driver from FTR. She has
- 34:13Speaker 1: not been seen since. So this was her return. And
- 34:16Speaker 1: she walked out here and the look on Stokely's face
- 34:20Speaker 1: was priceless. So she comes out and she I got
- 34:26Speaker 1: to actually, before I even get into what she did here,
- 34:28Speaker 1: I have to say, and I noticed that the last
- 34:30Speaker 1: time we saw her on the pay per view as well.
- 34:34Speaker 1: She's still in great shape. She still comes out there
- 34:37Speaker 1: and she's got that mean face and everything. I'm just saying, like,
- 34:41Speaker 1: if they wanted to use her, if she wanted to
- 34:43Speaker 1: get back in the ring, even just part time or something,
- 34:46Speaker 1: she could easily do it. If she wanted to be
- 34:48Speaker 1: full time. We happen to have a vacancy right now
- 34:51Speaker 1: when it comes to the TBS Championship. Could be a
- 34:55Speaker 1: good place for her to be. I'm just saying, could
- 34:58Speaker 1: always use her in the women's division, especially now that
- 35:01Speaker 1: we're gonna lose Willow for god knows how long she's
- 35:03Speaker 1: gonna be out for a while. We don't even know
- 35:05Speaker 1: if Mercedes is coming back. They brought back Camille, and
- 35:09Speaker 1: I don't know where she's been lately. You could do worse.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You could do worse than having Beth Phoenix in your
- 35:14Speaker 1: women's division. So she beats the crap out of Stokely.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Harwood though blindsided her and sent her crashing face first
- 35:21Speaker 1: into the ring steps. So he brings out lighter fluid.
- 35:26Speaker 1: This is setting up the finish. Here. There's a table
- 35:29Speaker 1: at ringside. They did the wrestle many a twenty two
- 35:32Speaker 1: spot appropriately involving Mick Foley an edge. The table is
- 35:37Speaker 1: at ringside. He is, when I say dousing the table,
- 35:42Speaker 1: like if this was a gun, I would say that
- 35:46Speaker 1: he emptied the clip. I don't think there was any
- 35:49Speaker 1: more liquid left in the bottle by the time he
- 35:52Speaker 1: was done emptying. This thing on this table was drenched,
- 35:55Speaker 1: and he had the barbecue lighter and he sets the
- 35:59Speaker 1: table on fire. And what they're doing is they're setting
- 36:02Speaker 1: up Stokely. He has Beth on the apron, and you know,
- 36:05Speaker 1: Wheeler gets into position. There's going to be a big
- 36:07Speaker 1: dive spot here. So Harwood sets the table on fire,
- 36:11Speaker 1: Wheeler charges in, Beth moves and Wheeler ends up spearing
- 36:15Speaker 1: Stokely by accident through the flaming table and the entire
- 36:20Speaker 1: crab breaks into chance of Holy shit. Tony Schavanni on
- 36:24Speaker 1: commentary said, it's only the first match and they're already
- 36:27Speaker 1: burning people. Welcome to an aw pay per view. At
- 36:32Speaker 1: least they weren't bleeding. Harwood was going to go give
- 36:36Speaker 1: a concerto to Copeland, telling him to say I quit
- 36:41Speaker 1: if he wants to see his daughters tomorrow. Beth hits
- 36:44Speaker 1: a low blow though on Harwood, and Christian hits a
- 36:48Speaker 1: punt kick low. Copeland hits a pile driver. Christian sinks
- 36:51Speaker 1: in a scorpion deathlock, so Harwood is screaming no, no, no.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Copeland locks in simultaneously a cross face Harwi again. He's
- 37:00Speaker 1: refusing to quit, so Copeland signals to Beth to go
- 37:06Speaker 1: get something, and she turns the ring steps over and
- 37:10Speaker 1: hidden under the ring steps is Spike, the board with
- 37:15Speaker 1: the nails in it like Janis from TNA, so she
- 37:21Speaker 1: gives Spike to her husband. He digs the nails into
- 37:25Speaker 1: Dax's forehead while he's still trapped in this scorpion deathlock,
- 37:30Speaker 1: and finally he says, I quit, and the place explodes
- 37:35Speaker 1: and we have brand new aw Tag Team champions. This
- 37:39Speaker 1: was a great fucking opener' So a great opener with
- 37:44Speaker 1: a just a molten hot crowd who badly wanted to
- 37:48Speaker 1: see Cope and Christian win those tag team titles. And
- 37:51Speaker 1: so for the first time think about this for the
- 37:53Speaker 1: first time in a quarter of a century, twenty five
- 37:57Speaker 1: years it's been since these men held ten team championships together.
- 38:02Speaker 1: They're once again tag team champions. It was the right
- 38:05Speaker 1: outcome in front of the right crowd. It had to
- 38:08Speaker 1: be this way, and they actually made They didn't do
- 38:10Speaker 1: themselves any favors, I think by adding that stipulation that
- 38:14Speaker 1: because it was already an I quit street fight. How
- 38:16Speaker 1: many fucking stipulations do you need? You know? But they
- 38:19Speaker 1: couldn't help themselves, and then they were well like, well,
- 38:21Speaker 1: if Cope and Christian lose, then they can never team
- 38:24Speaker 1: up again, and it's like, well, all right, you're kind
- 38:26Speaker 1: of giving the game away here. So it was a
- 38:28Speaker 1: very predictable finish, but it was still the right finish.
- 38:31Speaker 1: And now the possibilities are endless because you look ahead
- 38:34Speaker 1: now as we head into the summer and we head
- 38:35Speaker 1: into Forbidden Door and then we have all in. We'll
- 38:38Speaker 1: see if they add another pay per view in July.
- 38:40Speaker 1: There's been rumors of a redemption pay per view. Nothing's
- 38:43Speaker 1: been announced, but as we head into Wembley Stadium, because
- 38:49Speaker 1: Cope and Christian are not going to be holding the titles,
- 38:50Speaker 1: I can't imagine for very long. I would kind of
- 38:53Speaker 1: be surprised, to be honest with you, if there's still
- 38:55Speaker 1: the champions beyond all in, I think they may lose
- 38:58Speaker 1: them there. What kind of matter we look looking at here?
- 39:01Speaker 1: You know? Is Tony gonna give us Cope and Christian
- 39:04Speaker 1: against the Young Bucks? Or is he just gonna lump
- 39:07Speaker 1: a bunch of teams together in one big match on
- 39:09Speaker 1: one of these pay per views? Are we going to
- 39:11Speaker 1: get a triple threat match? Are we gonna get FTR
- 39:14Speaker 1: Cope and Christian and the Young Bucks? Are they gonna
- 39:17Speaker 1: throw ladders in there? Are they going to try to
- 39:19Speaker 1: replicate TLC? What about these two teams that are going
- 39:23Speaker 1: to be free agents very soon? In fact, by the
- 39:25Speaker 1: end of July, the MotorCity machine guns are going to
- 39:29Speaker 1: be available. In fact, Dynamite is coming to the Motor
- 39:32Speaker 1: City on July twenty ninth. What great timing, that's only
- 39:36Speaker 1: a month before Wembley. What about the New Day? You
- 39:41Speaker 1: and I both know the New Day are going to
- 39:43Speaker 1: end up in Aw, all right. I'll bet my left
- 39:46Speaker 1: nut they're gonna end up in aw guaranteed. Right, everybody
- 39:49Speaker 1: has to know that instead of the New Day, they'll
- 39:52Speaker 1: be the New Dawn and they're going to come in.
- 39:55Speaker 1: How do you introduce them? Is it too soon? Or
- 39:58Speaker 1: do you throw them in some kind a big four
- 40:00Speaker 1: way match. Cope and Christian, the Young Bucks, FTR, the
- 40:05Speaker 1: New Dawn or a New Day or whatever they call it.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I'm just throwing that out there, whatever the fuck they're
- 40:10Speaker 1: gonna call themselves. But you got the machine guns. There's
- 40:14Speaker 1: a lot of possibilities here. You know, their tag team
- 40:17Speaker 1: division in many ways, if you look at you know
- 40:20Speaker 1: who they have in the division, who they will soon
- 40:22Speaker 1: likely have in that division. It's this embarrassment of riches
- 40:27Speaker 1: compared to other companies when it comes to their tag
- 40:31Speaker 1: team division. So there's really any number of different matches
- 40:34Speaker 1: they could put together, So not a bad problem to have.
- 40:39Speaker 1: We'll find out that what the Wembley match ends up being. Yeah,
- 40:44Speaker 1: I think New Era has I think New Era has
- 40:46Speaker 1: been taken Pedro. I think they would get a cease
- 40:50Speaker 1: and desist if they tried to go with that. I
- 40:52Speaker 1: just said the New Dawn. I mean they could come
- 40:55Speaker 1: up with something completely different, but if you want to
- 40:57Speaker 1: try to keep it similar, right, it's still a new
- 41:02Speaker 1: This week's episode is sponsored by WIS. If you run
- 41:05Speaker 1: a business like I do, although it may be a
- 41:07Speaker 1: little unorthodox, but there's lots of small businesses out there,
- 41:10Speaker 1: you know all too well the struggle of having a
- 41:13Speaker 1: million things to get done at any given moment and
- 41:16Speaker 1: wanting to do all of it yourself. It's the fatal
- 41:18Speaker 1: flaw of being a perfectionist. But let me tell you something.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Creating your own website is something you can absolutely do
- 41:25Speaker 1: on your own, and it's easier now than it's ever
- 41:27Speaker 1: been thanks to Wix's new Harmony Editor. It's an AI
- 41:30Speaker 1: website builder that lets you create a website super fast
- 41:34Speaker 1: without compromising your vision of what you want it to be.
- 41:37Speaker 1: If you can picture it in your head, wis Harmony
- 41:39Speaker 1: can make it a reality all by just describing your idea.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Then you can flow freely between chatting with AI and
- 41:46Speaker 1: editing things yourself to get your site looking exactly the
- 41:49Speaker 1: way you want it to look. And you've got Aria,
- 41:52Speaker 1: your own AI agent who can answer any questions you
- 41:55Speaker 1: may have or just flat out help you get stuff done.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And Aria doesn't just live in a chat box. You
- 42:00Speaker 1: can click anywhere on your site and ask her to
- 42:03Speaker 1: change something instead of entering prompt after prompt after prompt,
- 42:07Speaker 1: then if you wish, you can go in there by
- 42:08Speaker 1: hand and tweak whatever you want. If only it was
- 42:11Speaker 1: this easy to make a website twenty years ago, it
- 42:13Speaker 1: would have made my life a lot easier. Now it
- 42:16Speaker 1: can for you and me both join the millions of
- 42:19Speaker 1: businesses that already use Wix and try wix Harmony for
- 42:23Speaker 1: free right now at wicks dot com slash harmony. That's
- 42:26Speaker 1: wis dot com slash Harmony. From that insanity, we went
- 42:32Speaker 1: to Kazuchka Okada defending the aw International Championship against Kenoski Takeshta,
- 42:39Speaker 1: and to tell to just show you that I was
- 42:41Speaker 1: not the only one looking forward to this match. Right
- 42:44Speaker 1: from the opening bell, we had chance of holy shit,
- 42:49Speaker 1: and you could just hear it. You could feel I
- 42:52Speaker 1: wasn't even there. You could feel the energy in that building.
- 42:55Speaker 1: They go with the wide crowd shot. Just this just
- 42:59Speaker 1: great atmosphere that you would hope for for a match
- 43:02Speaker 1: that you have been teasing and building for so long.
- 43:04Speaker 1: You never know right when you finally pulled the trigger
- 43:06Speaker 1: and you do it. It depends on the building and
- 43:08Speaker 1: the city you hope that you get rewarded right for
- 43:12Speaker 1: telling a good story, for building up a feud and
- 43:15Speaker 1: a match that people are going to want to see
- 43:18Speaker 1: and New York tonight. New York City was the perfect
- 43:20Speaker 1: place for this match, so we got holy shit chance
- 43:24Speaker 1: right out of the gate. Okada missed a rain maker,
- 43:26Speaker 1: Takeshta missed a raging fire into the stalemate, and these
- 43:30Speaker 1: people are fired the fuck up. Okada did the slow
- 43:35Speaker 1: He did slow the paste down. This is what Okada does,
- 43:37Speaker 1: especially when he knows he's gonna go for a while.
- 43:40Speaker 1: This was not like a New Japan Okada match that
- 43:41Speaker 1: goes forty five minutes, but this is what Okada does.
- 43:45Speaker 1: You got to slow the paste down. And he didn't
- 43:48Speaker 1: seem to be taking things too seriously. There were some
- 43:50Speaker 1: lackadaisical covers in there that just seemed to piss off Takeshta.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Later on in the match, it was a bastard driver
- 43:57Speaker 1: by Takeshta into a release German, which Cata no sold
- 44:01Speaker 1: into a shotgun dropkick, which was then no sold by Takeshta,
- 44:05Speaker 1: and Okada then turned him inside out with a discus lariat.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Back and forth these guys went, and the crowd was
- 44:12Speaker 1: just lapping this shit up. So each man is slugging
- 44:16Speaker 1: it out on the apron. Takesha signals for a raging fire. Okada, though,
- 44:20Speaker 1: slides back into the ring and he hits a rain maker.
- 44:22Speaker 1: He folds him up on the apron and then he
- 44:24Speaker 1: falls to the floor. I don't think I've ever seen
- 44:26Speaker 1: that before. I have never seen a rain maker delivered
- 44:30Speaker 1: on the apron in that way. So outside, Okada spikes
- 44:34Speaker 1: Takeshta with the DDT and he was going to deliver
- 44:37Speaker 1: a tombstone. Now don Kallis is sitting right there on commentary.
- 44:41Speaker 1: He's watching all of this unfold. There. These are his boys,
- 44:45Speaker 1: and he gets up off commentary. He begs Okada, don't
- 44:48Speaker 1: do it, all right, don't you'll break his neck? Right,
- 44:51Speaker 1: these are his meal tickets, right, So Okada doesn't do it.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Okada gets back in the ring and he went back
- 44:58Speaker 1: out to go get Takeshta, and he spiked Okada with
- 45:01Speaker 1: a brainbuster on the floor. And this was not what
- 45:05Speaker 1: Callous wants it. Calus is very upset about this, so
- 45:07Speaker 1: he got up in Takesha's face. Takesha got up in
- 45:10Speaker 1: his face. He even flipped him off, basically told him
- 45:14Speaker 1: to fuck off before heading back inside for a halluva
- 45:18Speaker 1: kick and a superplex, but he held on. Okada floated over.
- 45:22Speaker 1: They traded some strikes until Takesha hit a high bridging
- 45:26Speaker 1: German suplex for a two count. He called for the
- 45:29Speaker 1: power drive knee, but he got caught into a tombstone,
- 45:33Speaker 1: so Okada he flips off the crowd. Takesha though, he
- 45:35Speaker 1: starts the hulk up and he ducks a rain Maker
- 45:39Speaker 1: into a beautiful blue thunderbomb, and then he charges for
- 45:42Speaker 1: the knee, but he ran right into an emerald flosion.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Takeshta rolls through a rain Maker into a very close cradle,
- 45:49Speaker 1: a little too close for a two count. Backslide from
- 45:53Speaker 1: Okada into a rain Maker maintain risk control, but he
- 45:58Speaker 1: missed another. He missed another one he went for. Then
- 46:00Speaker 1: Takeshta ran right into a picture perfect dropkick. The rain
- 46:04Speaker 1: Maker got countered into one by Tikeshta and that got
- 46:09Speaker 1: a huge rise out of the crowd. He hit the
- 46:12Speaker 1: power drive knee. Okada kicked out at one. Then we
- 46:16Speaker 1: got the home run four arm shot that drops Okada
- 46:19Speaker 1: and Takeshta finally put him away with the raging fire
- 46:24Speaker 1: to win the championship and that ends the rain of
- 46:27Speaker 1: Kazuchka Okada, who won that title when he unified the belts.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Remember the unified title. Remember that that's when he beat
- 46:35Speaker 1: Kenny Omega in Texas last year at all in so
- 46:38Speaker 1: that rain has now come to an end, and this
- 46:41Speaker 1: starts to Keshta's second run with the championship, which goes
- 46:44Speaker 1: back to when did he lose that title? That had
- 46:49Speaker 1: to be the spring of last year, all right, because
- 46:52Speaker 1: it ended up on Omega. Yeah, had to be like March,
- 46:57Speaker 1: March or April of last year. It's been a while
- 46:59Speaker 1: since Tikesha has had the international title. This what can
- 47:03Speaker 1: I say about this? This is the best of professional wrestling.
- 47:07Speaker 1: First of all, you have two guys who are just
- 47:08Speaker 1: great fucking pro wrestlers who know how to go in
- 47:11Speaker 1: there and have a great match. I like this story
- 47:14Speaker 1: they've told over these many many months with these two men. Right,
- 47:17Speaker 1: it was not anything that was like so out of
- 47:20Speaker 1: the box creative. It was actually very basic, but it
- 47:23Speaker 1: just worked. Okada is this great shitthead heel, He is
- 47:27Speaker 1: this great just absolute asshole and just knew how to
- 47:32Speaker 1: push Takeshta's buttons. The fans love Takeshti even though he's
- 47:36Speaker 1: part of a heel faction. So you kind of knew
- 47:39Speaker 1: for a while now that eventually something was going to
- 47:41Speaker 1: happen and he was either going to quit or he
- 47:43Speaker 1: was going to get kicked out, right, but you kind
- 47:45Speaker 1: of knew the path that he was on, but just
- 47:48Speaker 1: the way that Okada would needle him. He knew how
- 47:50Speaker 1: to get under this man's skin, right every promo he
- 47:52Speaker 1: would cut, unlike Takeshta like I have, you know, just
- 47:55Speaker 1: every single week. But this goes back so long you
- 47:59Speaker 1: run the risk of burning out where people don't care.
- 48:01Speaker 1: So when they had their match in the Continental Classic,
- 48:04Speaker 1: like I said earlier, it was a good match, but
- 48:06Speaker 1: there was so much left that like they didn't do
- 48:09Speaker 1: and I'm like, man, how long are we going to
- 48:10Speaker 1: have to wait to get the rematch? Now that was
- 48:12Speaker 1: in December, it's almost June. We've waited long enough. This
- 48:18Speaker 1: was the right setting for fourteen thousand people in New
- 48:20Speaker 1: York City. They knew the assignment. They treated this match
- 48:23Speaker 1: like it was the biggest thing on the entire card,
- 48:26Speaker 1: and it was one of the biggest things on the
- 48:28Speaker 1: entire card. And when he won the match, It was
- 48:31Speaker 1: just this great, like everything that you would hope for
- 48:33Speaker 1: in terms of how the crowd would react to it.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Everything just fell right into place. This was excellent, just
- 48:42Speaker 1: an excellent match in my opinion, the best match on
- 48:45Speaker 1: the entire show, My favorite match of the night. Can't
- 48:49Speaker 1: say enough good things about this. It delivered exactly the
- 48:51Speaker 1: way that I was hoping it would. But we were
- 48:53Speaker 1: not done yet. We had another big angle coming up here.
- 48:57Speaker 1: At the end of the match, Mark Dave, Rocky Romero,
- 49:01Speaker 1: and Don Caallus. They join Okada in the ring and
- 49:04Speaker 1: they're standing right across from Takeshta and they're acting like
- 49:09Speaker 1: they're may be about to boot him out of the group.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Takesha's you know, basically he's in like a standoff position
- 49:15Speaker 1: here where he's ready for he's ready for anything. And
- 49:18Speaker 1: then we hear Kyle Fletcher's music and out comes the
- 49:22Speaker 1: Proto Star and he walks in. The guy is wearing
- 49:24Speaker 1: a salmon suit and he's Aura Farming. He is wearing
- 49:29Speaker 1: that's if you saw the show, you tell the suit
- 49:32Speaker 1: he was wearing, and he is Aura Farming as he
- 49:34Speaker 1: comes down to the ring, so he ditches the jacket.
- 49:37Speaker 1: He storms into the ring, and at first he's standing
- 49:40Speaker 1: side by side with Takeshta and Okada and the Callus family.
- 49:45Speaker 1: They retreat, they leave the ring. Fletcher turns around, he
- 49:50Speaker 1: and Takesha. They embrace right, big hug, right Protoshida, and
- 49:56Speaker 1: all seems well. But look, if you're a wrestling fan
- 49:59Speaker 1: for more than fifteen minutes, you kind of had a
- 50:02Speaker 1: sense of where things were headed here. I didn't know
- 50:04Speaker 1: if they were going to pull the trigger tonight or
- 50:06Speaker 1: if they were going to save it maybe for dynamite,
- 50:08Speaker 1: but it was pretty clear where this was going at
- 50:10Speaker 1: this point. And sure enough, he downs Takesha with a
- 50:14Speaker 1: lariat and everybody booze and Okada's smiling, Callus is smiling.
- 50:19Speaker 1: They all get back in the ring and he picks
- 50:23Speaker 1: up Takeshta and he drops him with a brainbuster again.
- 50:28Speaker 1: The other members of the Callus family come into the ring.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Fletcher bends down to go pick up the international title
- 50:34Speaker 1: at the same time that Olkada does the same thing,
- 50:37Speaker 1: so they're bull holding it. They're staring at each other.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Okada lets it go and says okay, and he wants
- 50:43Speaker 1: them to hold Takeshta and then Fletcher blast him in
- 50:46Speaker 1: the head with the International title, and that is how
- 50:50Speaker 1: things ended up. Now, a lot happened here. There was
- 50:54Speaker 1: a lot that happened here in this segment. We finally
- 50:56Speaker 1: got the payoff with Okada and Takeshta, got the title change.
- 51:01Speaker 1: We got the surprise return of Kyle Fletcher, We got
- 51:05Speaker 1: his turn, We got to Kashta being booted right out
- 51:09Speaker 1: of the Callus family, and they set up Kyle Fletcher
- 51:12Speaker 1: as a future challenger for the International Championship. So this
- 51:15Speaker 1: was not just a great wrestling match. We had a
- 51:17Speaker 1: very productive segment here. A lot of shit happened that
- 51:21Speaker 1: set things in motion now for where we are headed
- 51:24Speaker 1: going into their big event of the summer. Now, Fletcher
- 51:29Speaker 1: hurt his knee in late March. We were told it
- 51:31Speaker 1: was a meniscus tear. I don't remember if it was
- 51:33Speaker 1: a full tear partial tear, But at the time when
- 51:37Speaker 1: those reports came out from Fight Full and all the
- 51:39Speaker 1: other outlets that were reporting on it, they said that
- 51:42Speaker 1: it wasn't just the torn meniscus. He had other lower
- 51:45Speaker 1: body injuries, and they made it sound like he really
- 51:47Speaker 1: fucked himself up and we're not going to be seeing
- 51:50Speaker 1: him for a while that's why he had to vacate
- 51:52Speaker 1: the TNT Championship because they weren't expecting him back for
- 51:55Speaker 1: a while. So when they hit his music here, I
- 51:58Speaker 1: was like, oh, okay. I wasn't expecting him to be here,
- 52:01Speaker 1: but I thought, okay, whatever, he's in the middle of
- 52:03Speaker 1: his rehab and he can come out and make it appearance.
- 52:06Speaker 1: But he walked out to the ring and he looked
- 52:09Speaker 1: totally normal, right. There was no limping, there was no crutch,
- 52:12Speaker 1: there was no knee brace, and then he got physical
- 52:17Speaker 1: and he hit the brainbuster, and he walked out and
- 52:19Speaker 1: he left with the rest of them, and they set
- 52:21Speaker 1: up a wrestling match for him in the near future.
- 52:23Speaker 1: So apparently I assume he's cleared and I assume he's
- 52:26Speaker 1: back for good. That to me was the biggest surprise
- 52:29Speaker 1: of the entire thing, because I thought his knee was
- 52:31Speaker 1: so fucked up that he had surgery and he was
- 52:33Speaker 1: going to be out for fucking eight months. So it
- 52:36Speaker 1: was nice to see him back a lot sooner. And
- 52:39Speaker 1: that makes me think that the match for all In
- 52:42Speaker 1: in Wembley is going to be Fletcher challenging Takeshta for
- 52:46Speaker 1: the international title. I don't know where Okata fits into
- 52:49Speaker 1: all this. I'm not saying it's going to be a
- 52:50Speaker 1: triple threat. If he even wrestles on that show. Maybe
- 52:53Speaker 1: he'll be doing something else, but that's going to be
- 52:57Speaker 1: a hell of a match if that's what they're set
- 52:59Speaker 1: in for that show. So we'll see. But I loved
- 53:02Speaker 1: everything about this. I can't say enough good things about this.
- 53:08Speaker 1: We had our first of three Owen Hart Foundation Tournament
- 53:11Speaker 1: matches tonight with Athena taking on Mina Shirikaua. Now, it
- 53:17Speaker 1: was supposed to be Willow Nightingale taking on Alex Windsor.
- 53:21Speaker 1: That was going to be on the pay per view tonight. Unfortunately,
- 53:24Speaker 1: Willow suffered a shoulder injury. She was forced to pull
- 53:27Speaker 1: out of the Owen She was forced to vacate her
- 53:30Speaker 1: TBS Championship. Who knows, maybe she'll pull a Kyle Fletcher
- 53:34Speaker 1: and she'll be back in two months, but for the
- 53:36Speaker 1: time being, she's gone. And so instead of doing the
- 53:39Speaker 1: match with Alex Windsor and the wildcard entrant, they slotted
- 53:44Speaker 1: this match in on the show instead. I did not
- 53:47Speaker 1: envy these two women having to follow those first two matches.
- 53:50Speaker 1: The crowd was so insanely hot for those first two matches,
- 53:54Speaker 1: and those first two matches were so great, this was
- 53:57Speaker 1: always going to have to end up being the comdown man.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Doesn't mean it has to be a bad match, though.
- 54:02Speaker 1: It doesn't mean it has to be a throwaway match.
- 54:04Speaker 1: It wasn't. They had a good match, but yes, the
- 54:07Speaker 1: crowd was not as hot for it as it was
- 54:09Speaker 1: the first two. That doesn't mean it wasn't. It doesn't
- 54:12Speaker 1: mean that it wasn't a good match. Mina targeted Athena's
- 54:16Speaker 1: knee that became the story really of the match. Doesn't
- 54:20Speaker 1: mean that Athena wasn't giving it right back to her though,
- 54:23Speaker 1: because she was. They had a very competitive match. Sent
- 54:27Speaker 1: Athena to the floor, She had a corkscrew dive out
- 54:29Speaker 1: onto her, and Mina rolled Athena back inside hit a
- 54:33Speaker 1: missile dropkick. There was a move here where she spiked Athena.
- 54:39Speaker 1: It was like a head scissors, like a head scissors takedown,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and she took the move in such a way where
- 54:44Speaker 1: it looked like Athena got spiked headfirst down into the mat.
- 54:49Speaker 1: So she locked Athena in the figure four leg locked,
- 54:51Speaker 1: but she grabbed the bottom rope to get the brake.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Mina wanted her glamorous driver. Athena countered into a jumping tombstone.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Had a lot of tombstones on this show. We had
- 55:03Speaker 1: tombstone in the Okada match, we had a tombstone here,
- 55:06Speaker 1: we had tombstone in the main events, which actually was
- 55:09Speaker 1: the finish. It's a lot of tombstones. The man who
- 55:14Speaker 1: popularized the tombstone, he's got a big show that he's
- 55:17Speaker 1: booking coming up next weekend in Monterey, Mexico. It's made
- 55:23Speaker 1: me think of him for some reason. So anyway, she
- 55:26Speaker 1: hit a jumping tombstone and then Athena went up top.
- 55:29Speaker 1: She hit a proper o face. After hitting one, she
- 55:32Speaker 1: went for one off the middle rope earlier, and I
- 55:34Speaker 1: don't think it worked, but she hit the O face
- 55:37Speaker 1: and she got the win. So Athena really to the
- 55:40Speaker 1: surprise of no one, advances to the next round of
- 55:43Speaker 1: the tournament, because this could not go any other way.
- 55:48Speaker 1: You cannot have a woman who has been Ring of
- 55:51Speaker 1: Honor Women's World Champion for over one thousand, two hundred
- 55:56Speaker 1: and fifty days. She has beaten everybody there is to beat.
- 56:00Speaker 1: She's practically unbeatable, right, She's lost a few matches, but
- 56:03Speaker 1: not very many. You cannot have her go in there
- 56:07Speaker 1: and the opening round of this tournament and lose to
- 56:09Speaker 1: a woman who eats els every single week. That just
- 56:13Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense. I like Mina, but she was
- 56:16Speaker 1: not winning this match, no point was Was there even
- 56:18Speaker 1: a thought in any rational human being's mind that she
- 56:22Speaker 1: might win this match. This was the only possible outcome.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Now she was selling a knee injury in this match.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Is this going to extend into the next round? Is
- 56:32Speaker 1: this going to extend into the finals, assuming she makes
- 56:34Speaker 1: it to the finals, which I think she will, I
- 56:37Speaker 1: would think so, And maybe they did that on purpose
- 56:39Speaker 1: to give her an out for when she eventually loses.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Because I'm still sticking with Persephone is my pick to
- 56:44Speaker 1: win the entire thing. I think we may end up
- 56:46Speaker 1: getting Persephone and Athena in the finals. That knee injury
- 56:50Speaker 1: may come into play in those matches. That could be
- 56:53Speaker 1: her out when she eventually loses. That's what I'm thinking.
- 56:57Speaker 1: But she will now meet the winner of the match
- 56:58Speaker 1: between sky Blue and Serie. Assuming Suri is able to
- 57:04Speaker 1: actually wrestle in the tournament, because she's currently out nursing
- 57:07Speaker 1: a neck injury, so we'll find out. But this was good. Again.
- 57:12Speaker 1: This match wasn't even supposed to happen on the show,
- 57:15Speaker 1: but it was good. Now we had John Moxley defending
- 57:18Speaker 1: the Continental Championship against Kyle O'Reilly. This was a rematch
- 57:23Speaker 1: from their match on Dynamite this week, only this time
- 57:26Speaker 1: it was no time limit. They went to a draw
- 57:29Speaker 1: on Wednesday, so tonight it was no time limit and
- 57:32Speaker 1: Jim Ross replaced Tony Shiavanni on commentary here for this match.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I gave the update on the podcast on the sound
- 57:39Speaker 1: Off earlier today or I guess yesterday. Now that Jim
- 57:43Speaker 1: Ross is physically he's feeling as good as he's felt
- 57:46Speaker 1: in a long time. But unfortunately, the doctors are very
- 57:49Speaker 1: concerned that he may have dementia or Alzheimer's disease, and
- 57:56Speaker 1: it's weird. The way he spoke about it on his
- 57:58Speaker 1: podcast was kind of a very matter of fact. It's like, okay,
- 58:02Speaker 1: he was telling them if there's pills or drugs for
- 58:05Speaker 1: me to take to be proactive, like tell me and
- 58:08Speaker 1: I'll take them. He hasn't been officially diagnosed with anything,
- 58:12Speaker 1: but that's very scary. Obviously, if they're concerned about it,
- 58:15Speaker 1: then there's obviously something going on there. But he was
- 58:19Speaker 1: back on commentary tonight and I thought he sounded good.
- 58:22Speaker 1: You know, there are times where they'll bring in Jr.
- 58:25Speaker 1: And he's having a bad night, and then there are
- 58:28Speaker 1: times where he's on his a game and it's like,
- 58:31Speaker 1: all right, his fastball may not be as fast as
- 58:33Speaker 1: he used to be, but he still got it in him,
- 58:35Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Give him a good match
- 58:36Speaker 1: to call and he could still do it. And I
- 58:39Speaker 1: felt like tonight was one of the better nights for him.
- 58:42Speaker 1: So but I think this was the only match that
- 58:44Speaker 1: he did commentary for. They didn't even bring him back
- 58:46Speaker 1: out for the main events, so they kept it to
- 58:48Speaker 1: this one match. This is the one that they gave him. Kyle.
- 58:51Speaker 1: He threw you know, in the match, he threw a
- 58:55Speaker 1: kick early. They were outside the ring and Moxley was
- 58:58Speaker 1: up against the post and threw a kick and Moxley
- 59:01Speaker 1: moved and he kicked the post. And so now he
- 59:05Speaker 1: was nursing a foot injury, and so like in the ring.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Later he was trying to do certain spots and his
- 59:10Speaker 1: leg would buckle and so he would fall to the mat.
- 59:13Speaker 1: And Moxley would target the knee or target the leg.
- 59:17Speaker 1: So Moxley planted him with a death Rider. Then he
- 59:19Speaker 1: got a rear naked choke O'Reilly, they'll slid out into
- 59:22Speaker 1: an ankle lock. Moxley was able to pick the bad
- 59:25Speaker 1: ankle and both men had the submission locked in until
- 59:28Speaker 1: O'Reilly got to roll up for a near fall. Moxley
- 59:31Speaker 1: never let go though, and O'Reilly was scrambling, but he
- 59:35Speaker 1: had no choice but to tap out. That's the cliff
- 59:39Speaker 1: notes version of what happened here. When the match was over,
- 59:42Speaker 1: the Conglomeration and the Death Riders, they both came out to,
- 59:45Speaker 1: you know, kind of be with their guy, and Moxley
- 59:50Speaker 1: got to his feet. He offered a handshake and O'Reilly accepted. So,
- 59:53Speaker 1: for all of the animis between them going back to
- 59:56Speaker 1: last year, this pretty much put this to bed once
- 59:59Speaker 1: and for all this set. Now there was kind of
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: a handshake of mutual respect, and now they'll both go
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: their separate ways. This was a very good Yeah I
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: know Jr. Yeah, that iceman says Jr. Unfortunately did not
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: seem too familiar with Kyle. He kept calling him kid,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: this kid, it seemed like he was forgetting his name.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: He did call him by his name later, like later on,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: like when the match was over. Yeah, i'd noticed that too,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: and I don't I'm not attributing that to anything other
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: than him just forgetting O'Reilly's name. Hopefully that's all it was.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: It was a senior moment. We all have them. I
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: have them too, and I'm not seventy four years old
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: like Jim Ross's. This was a very good man, a
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: very good matt based pro wrestling match. It was not
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: as flashy, it was not as exciting as the opening
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: two matches were not even close. He had a lot
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: of limb work right, working body parts in this match.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: It was very similar to the match they had on Wednesday,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: but you know, again, this time we had a decisive finish.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: It sucks for Kyle because if you think back to
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: what they were doing last year, like late last year
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: with him and Moxley, he was beating Moxley and they
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: were telling this story where Moxley was terrified of being
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: caught in the ankle lock, right, so he was always
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: trying to make sure he'd do whatever it takes to
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: make sure he didn't get trapped in that hole, because
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: this is one I foolishly thought that this was leading
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: to him leaving the Death Riders and they were going
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: to break them up, and of course that never happened.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: But Kyle actually had some momentum on his side. And
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: then remember Blood and Guts and what they did there,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and Kyle was super over and then but he got hurt,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: so he missed several months, and missing all those months
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: with that injury, whatever the injury was, really steimied his
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: momentum because he came back, was it Dynasty came back
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: not that long ago, maybe a month ago, and it's
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: like there's just nothing. Eh, you know, nobody really cares
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: all that much. They don't care in the way that
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: they cared last year. So whatever Momentumy had, I feel
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: like we just kind of squandered because he got hurt.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Which it's not anybody's fault. I mean, shit happens, but
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I think that really hurt him. And now that this
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: is over, it's like, Okay, I think that's basically it.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I don't know that there's really anything else to do
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: with him specifically. The other thing that also I think
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: worked against it is that the last time we saw
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: him feuding with Moxley. Moxley was pretty well defined as
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: a heel, and I don't know what the hell he's
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: supposed to be now. He's more of a babyface now
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: than a heel. So it's just it's a very different
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: situation than the way it was late last year. So
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: that's all for Kyle now. I said this earlier on
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: the Sound of I don't think Moxley should lose a match,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: not one match until he loses to Will Osprey, because
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I don't see how you don't do that match sometime
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: before all in like, that match has to happen at
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: some point, if it's a forbidden door or if they
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: do add a new pay per view in July and
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: they want to do it there. But this story they're
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: telling with Ospray and the Death Riders, I feel like,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: how do you not get to a Moxley Osprey rematch
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: because the last time they wrestle, Moxley won. How do
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you not do that match with the idea that Moxley
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: tells him, this is your final test, right because they're
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: training him. They're training him to bring out like the
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: best version of himself, to make sure that this is
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: a man who is prepared to be DAW World champion.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: How is Moxley not the final test he has to be?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: So I don't think he should be losing any matches
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: until we get to that point. And by the way,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: that does not need to be for the continental title.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Fuck that, I'm not talking about that. They kicked off
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: the Men's owen Hart Tournament with Will Ospray one on
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: one with Samoa Joe. Osprey was twelve years old when
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: he decided he wanted to become a pro wrestler, and
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: what inspired him was the famous three way match at
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: the TNA Unbreakable pay per view in two thousand and
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: five with aj Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe. So
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Samoa Jo is one of the men who inspired will
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Osprey to want to do this for a living, and
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: coming into tonight, the two of them had never wrestled
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: one on one before, so Osprey had mentioned coming into
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: this this was this was for him. This was a
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: dream match, first time they've ever wrestled one on one.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Tony should Bonnie Tagg back in on commentary to replace
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Jim Ross. Taz was added for the remainder of the
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: show to replace Nigel McGinnis. At this point, Osprey entered first,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: and they showed Moxley was still in the crowd because
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: his match had just concluded. He was in the crowd.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: The Death Riders were there with him, and Moxley is
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: like pumping his fist like he's like cheerleading almost for Osprey.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: As soon as Joe hit the ring. As soon as
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Joe hit the ring, Osprey got things right, like going
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: right out of the gate with an oscutter, like he
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: did not waste any time. Joe wasn't even ready yet.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: I thought they were going to go for like the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: shock finish where it's over in like ten seconds. I'm like,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: you can't do Joe like that. You can't do that.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: You can't give us this fucking Saturday Nights main event.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Becky Lynch soul ruka bullshit finish here, Okay, you can't
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: be doing that. But he was just right out of
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the gate with that osscutter, and so just like that,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: the match was underway, quick pace. Joe right back up,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: though he mowed Osprey down with a big uppercut, so
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Joe found himself outside a little while later. Osprey attempted
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: a Saske special, but He landed on his feet and
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: right into the cut the clutches of the Cocina clutch
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: before Joe took him over by the led barricade and
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: he just he just took his head and smashed the
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: back of his head up against the barricade very violently.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: So inside Joe wanted a musclebuster. Osprey escaped into a
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: double stomp to the left arm. Osprey tried another oscutter.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Joe did his nope spot and just walked away. Crab popped.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Joe wound up for a lariat. Osprey spun out into
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: a styles clash to Samoa Joe only for a two count.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Osprey connected with a hidden blade. Joe kicked out and
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Osprey threw away the elbow. Paddy went forward again, ran
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: right into a snap power slam. Instead, Joe got the
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Cocina clutch applied. Osprey started to fade and the referee
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: was doing the gimmick where it drops once, it drops twice,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: it drops three times, because sometimes in these companies, man,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: they just it's just funny how there's no consistent rules anywhere.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Sometimes they'll do that spot and it's the three times,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: which is like an old school I think that might
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: have been more of a WWF thing. Most of the
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: time they treat it like a shoot, like if it
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: was like an MMA fight or something or whatever. It drops.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Once the guy's out, that's it fights over. So they
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: didn't do that here. They did the dramatic once. They
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: did the dramatic twice, and then on the third time,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Osprey's hand landed on the bottom rope, so they got
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: the break. Joe wanted a muscle buster Osprey they'll landed
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: on his feet and then he blasted him with a
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: hidden blade. Joe kicked out at one so one more
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: hidden blade followed, this time to the back of the head,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: and that was enough for Osprey to secure the three
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: count to advance in the tournament. Yes, I know rules
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: in wrestling, silly Solo, I know, I know. Nobody pays
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: attention to the rules. Nobody cares about the rules anymore.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: When we don't have rules, we have anarchy. It's like
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: what the Joker said in The Dark Night, Solomoster, Expecting
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: consistency in wrestling is a rookie mistake. I ain't no rookie.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: So after the match, out on the floor, Joe bowed
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: to Ospray, who was inside as a show of respect
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: that he walked to the back. This was an excellent match.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: I very much enjoyed this. This is the best Samoa
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Joe match, frankly that I've seen, and I love Joe.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: This was like Osprey brought the best out of this guy,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: and so this was the best Joe match in a while.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I felt like this was the best Osprey match since
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: he came back from the neck injury. So this was great.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: And now Osprey waits to find out whether it's going
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: to be Mark Davis or Jack Perry that he wrestles
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: in the next round. I'm thinking I'm thinking Mark Davis.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I'm hoping Mark Davis. Mark Davis is the national champion.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Mark Davis has some history with well Offspring, he used
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: to be friends. I think that would be cool as
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: a semifinal match because it doesn't matter whether it's Mark
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Davis or Jack Perry. We all know Osbury's going to
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: the finals, so it doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Then we had our final Owen Heart Tournament match of
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: the night, we had Swerve Strickland against Bandido. Yes, Joe
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: is he was in prime TNA shape tonight. I don't
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: know about I don't know about TNA shape. But Joe
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: was on his a game tonight, that's for sure. But
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: now we get to Swerve in Bandido a slower pace
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: early than we saw in the previous match. But boy
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: did this pick up there at the end. Bandido at
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: one point did a military press, and you know how
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: he has the guy up and then he'll drop one arm.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: He'll do it one armed. So he did that with
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Swerves sent him to the floor. Swerve ended up on
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: a chair at ringside and Bandido he was on the apron.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: He charged connected with a flipping sentan onto Swerve on
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: the chair. So back inside, Bandido was looking for a
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: spear and the corner, Swerve moved and Bandido crashed into
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: the turnbuckles. And then Swerve really slowed things down for
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: a while here. Bandido, though later on, connected with a
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: frog splash. Swerve comes back with a flatliner. So Bandido
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: goes to hoist Swerve up. This spot was something else.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Swerve stands on Bandido's shoulders, He's balancing himself on the
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: man's shoulders and he hits a house call kick from
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Bandido's shoulders. I've never seen that before, not from Swerve.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I just wrote like WTF, that's what I wrote here,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: and then the Swerve stomp followed. He got a two
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: count and then Bendido kicked out and the people are
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: losing their minds for this. So on the apron, Swerve
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: gets Bandido on his shoulders, but he reverses poison Rana
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: by Bandido to the floor. So Swerve took that bump
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: off the apron down to the floor. It looked as
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: safe as it can possibly be when you're taking a
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: poison RNA from the apron to the floor, so that
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: was crazy. Back in the ring, Swerve is on the
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: mat and we see the dead lift into the twenty
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: one plex by Bandido and he got a near fall
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: out of it because he couldn't hold the bridge. His
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: neck gave out. Swerve had been working over his neck
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: so on the spot his neck gave out from all
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: the damage that Swerve had done to it. So then
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: after that we ended up code red position. Bandido, though,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: hops up. He fires off of her karana bikes strickland
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: into the mat and now he's back in the rope.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: So here comes another attempt at twenty one plex. He
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: goes for it, this time though, it gets countered into
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: a vertebraker, like Swerve cuts the shit off in like
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: mid move and he turns it into a vertebraker and
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: then comes the house call kick and the three count
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: for Swerve. The spot where he was standing on Bandido's
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: shoulders to meet that was just that was crazy, and
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: again people lost their minds for it. It's like, in
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: the last few minutes of the match, there was this
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: new gear that they just kind of kicked into that
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: just took that match to the next level. So it's
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: hard for me to sit here and say, like, Okay,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: which match was better this one or Ospray and Joe
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: As a match, I probably enjoyed Ospbray and Joe Moore,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: But I thought both owen Hart matches tonight on the
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: men's side were just fucking excellent. They both delivered, They
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: were both fantastic, And so we're one step closer, I
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: think to the obvious match that a lot of us
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: think is going to be in the finals at Forbidden
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Door next month, which is gonna be Swerved and Ospray,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: And it's the match that makes the most sense. It
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: might be predictable, predictable is not always bad. I always
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: say that sometimes it is, but predictable does not mean bad.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: You look at the bracket as it currently exists, right,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: you got Mark Davis, and you got Brody King, you
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: got Claudia. A lot of talented guys are still in
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: this tournament. The match that makes the most sense, the
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: biggest marquee match they can do on that forbidden door
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: pay per view when it comes to the Owen is
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: Swerve and Osprey. It's a rematch from two years ago.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Swerve won that one. This will be Osprey's time now
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: because it ain't gonna be Swerve going to Wembley Stadium.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: It's gonna be well ospray that's the match you do.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: We're now one step closer to making that a reality. Hey,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Havili is with us. Havili is a sound off super
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Say Havili, what's going on? Brother? You gotta let me
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: know what you thought of this pay per view. Haven't
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: heard from me in a little bit. We had a
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: four way for the aw Women's World Championship, with Tecla
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: defending against Jamie Hayter, Chris Statlander and Hikarushita. Tecla tried
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: flying off the top rope with a crossbody. She got caught,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: and so she'da flew in with a dropkick onto the pile,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: and she covered everybody she was trying to win this match,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: including her friend. I mean, it is every woman for
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: herself here, It's not a fucking tag team match. But
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: she also attempted to cover Statlander, which just pissed her off.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Not the only time that Chida would be doing that
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: to Statlander here in this match, because she caught her
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: with a leaping knee strike later on, which was an accident,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: but she'd have basically shrugged it off like all right, whatever,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: oh well, which again I would say, like what did
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: she to do wrong here that Statlander would be this upset.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: All four women are trying, you know, for this same thing.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: They're all trying to win the world championship. It's like
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Sid dumping Hogan out of the rumble, and he got
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: all pissy, he got all up at his feelings, like
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: it's every man for himself, big boy, that's how it's
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: supposed to work. So she'da hit a falcon arrow transitioned
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: into an ankle lock, but stat Lander pulled her off,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: and she'da is apologizing for what happened before, and then
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: she just hauls off and she slaps Statlander, and Statlander
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: just loses her shit. She starts beating the hell out
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: of Sheeta all the way out to the floor, rams
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: her into the steps. She catches Jamie Hater with a
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: pump kick. Statlander leapfrogged a spear attempt by Tekla back
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: in the ring, and she hits the Sunday night fever.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: We'll call it the Sunday night fever since it was
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Sunday night now it's Monday morning. Chidah though, gets into
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: the ring and she breaks up the pin with a
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: kendo stick, and Hater grabs the kendo stick. The two
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: of them spill out to the floor. Tecla gets to
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: her feet, stomp to Statlander, and she picks up the
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: wind to retain the women's championship. This was the right outcome.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: You don't take the title off Tecla. I don't think
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: before you get to all in. Techla's on a good
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: roll right now. Let her run with it for a
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: little while longer. I think Techla's great. No reason to
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: take the championship off her. Statlander and Sheda have their
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: own thing going on. Jamie Hayter is part of a
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: tag team that will very likely be challenging for the
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: women's tag team titles in London. It wouldn't have even
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: made sense to take the belt off of her here.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: And I thought the work was good. There were a
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: few spots that were a little, you know, a little
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: herky jerkie, but I thought it was solid. I thought
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: they had a solid match here. Then it was time
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: for Stadium Stampede. This is where the insanity truly began,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: and we had Chris Jericho, we had Bobby Lashley, Shelton, Benjamin,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Kenny Omega, Jack Perry and the Young Bucks against Ricochet,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: the Gates of Agony, Andrade l Edelo, Mark Davis, David
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Finley and Clark Connors seven on seven. In this match,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: we had a video intro. When they first started showing
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: this video, I was like, Oh, is this going to
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: be cinematic the way the first one was during the
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: the COVID period, because they showed like the heels are
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: all arriving in their various vehicles and trucks outside the venue,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: and at that point they cut to their proper entrance
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: as they entered the arena, and I'm like, okay, I
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: would think the fans in the building would be very
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: upset if they come to find out that the match
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: was already fully pre taped. They clearly they pre taped
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: some of this, probably the day before. But anyway, the
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: Heels entered the building. Then we got a video intro
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: for Jericho's team, and I don't remember the name of
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: the movie. They did this in the style of I
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: think the credits for an old movie from like the
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: two thousands, and I can't remember the name of it,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: but it was like each guy they would show them
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: and then there was like a freeze frame, almost cartoon like,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: and they would have their name on the screen. So
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: they did that for each of these guys, and they
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: set this to Devil's Dance by Metallica. When they got
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: to Kenny Ome. Now they're all wearing suits, or most
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: of them anywhere we're wearing suits. When they got to
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Kenny Ome again, they showed him on the screen. Everybody
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: in the arena popped and he's, you know, smoking a cigar,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: and he starts coughing and coughing and choking on the cigar,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: which was kind of funny. I don't know. They were
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: all wearing, so they actually wore the suits during the
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: match too. Jericho's wearing this suit. It's like sparkly, this
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: sparkly suit. He looked like something that you would see
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: on like the Vegas Strip if he had a fucking
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: show like Sigfried and Roy or something like back in
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: the day. So anyway, then they made their entrance to Judas,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: and everybody's saying Judas again. I thought they were gonna
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: play music during the actual match. That's the one thing
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: they didn't do. Oh, the movie was Snatch. Maybe it
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: was Snatch. He inhaled the smoke. Yes, that's probably what
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I would do. If I tried to smoke that thing.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't know what I'm doing. Poor guy just inhaled
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: all the smoke. You're not supposed to do that. I
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: gotta give a hat tip to Ryan Howard from F
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: four W online for the recap on this one, because
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: I just I gave up and just tried to watch
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: and just enjoy the match, because it's damn near impossible
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: to keep track of everything that was going on here
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: in this match. So as we go along here, I'll
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: just kind of pull from this and it'll jog some
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: memories here of this match, but it was what you
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: would expect. Again, it's if you've seen anarchy in the arena,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: that's basically what this was. At different points they would
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: cut to like multiple screens, and then at other points
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: they would just cut to different parts of the arena
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: outside the building because they kind of all branched off
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: into their own areas. Again, I'm sure some of the
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: backstage stuff was pre taped and probably wasn't live. But
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: in the ring we had the Elite. All of them
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: were teasing terminator dives, but they got cut off by
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: the dogs and Mark Davis Androtti hit the Three Amigos
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: on Jack Perry in the ring, so he was going
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: to go for a frog splash. He took too long
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: and Shelton Benjamin Man, how old is Shelton at this point?
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Is he fifty? Yet? If he's not fifty, he's got
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: to be he's in there range. And I mean the guy,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: he hasn't lost a step, He has not lost He's
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: a freak athlete. I remember him years ago saying that
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: people get angry at him because they would ask him, like,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: what's your workout routine? Right? Like what's your gym routine,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: and he made some comment to the effect of like
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: either he didn't work out or he didn't have to
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: work out. You hear something like that, It's like this
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: motherfucker doesn't have to work out. But for some people
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: it just hey, just comes natural. They're just a naturally
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: gifted athlete. So anyway, he scaled the ropes, hit a
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: knee lift as Androtte was taking too long to set
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: up this frog splash, but they walked right into a
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: high low from the dogs. Anyway, we got some more
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: wrestling here. I'm just I wanna I want to fast
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: forward a little bit to some of the insanity here
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: during this match. MVP was part of this. He was
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: out there and so he got involved a couple of
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: different times here in the match as well well, so
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: I want to make sure I mention him. They had
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: a spot where everybody was doing a dive of some
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: kind and then Jericho wanted to get in on the action,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: and so Jericho climbs up to the top rope and
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: he looks into the camera. He's like eh, and he
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: does a dive out onto the pile. Everyone dove out
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: onto the pile. That's what you got to do. In wrestling, right,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: everybody dives. Everybody died. Doesn't matter how big you are,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: it doesn't matter how old you are, Everybody dives. So anyway,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: we see lash Lee and total Leoner. They end up
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: brawling backstage. All of a sudden, like lash Lee is
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: down on the ground and he looks up and he's
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: freaked out by something, and we can't see what it is.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: But then we see Leo Rush the black Heart. I
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: got to see Leo Rush up close the other night,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: and it scared the shit out of me as I
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: was trying to figure out what it was that I
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: was looking at it. At the House of Glory show,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: we had him into to wrestle on Friday night, and
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: he kept talking to himself and he was like in
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: the fucking corner he was talking about him, And I'm like,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: who is this hymn that he's talking about? What entity
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: is it that he is referring to here? I don't know,
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: but apparently he was just in the back talking to himself.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I guess at Louis Armstrong Stadium because he didn't have
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: a match tonight. But I saw them in this There's
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Leo Rush and there's Bobby Lashley, and I just it
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: took me back to those days on Monday Night Raw
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: where they had put Leo Rush with Bobby. And this
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: was during the period where Vince McMahon thought it would
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: be funny if every week on TV Bobby Lashley just
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: bent over and smacked his ass. Remember that, he would
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: just bend over and put his hands on his own ass.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: And he probably sat in the back and laughed his
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: fucking ass off and found this hilarious. But Leo Rush
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: was like his mouthpiece. He was his spokesperson for a while. Yes, Lashly,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: that's right Ashley days. So we had we had a
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: little bit of a reunion here, so that was it.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I mean, actually Leo ended up biting total Leona he
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: I think he bit him on the hand or he
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: bit him on the fucking face, and then he jumped
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: on his back. It was very brief. That was the
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: last we saw of Leo Rush. So anyway, we go
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: back to the ring and Andrade is not having a
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: very good time here with the baby faces, the bucks
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: and the dogs. They brawled up onto the concourse Clark Connors.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: He ate a super kick, he fell onto an escalator
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: which then took him up all I was thinking as
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I'm watching this, because Clark Connors has long hair. He's
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: got that shoulder length long hair. I'm like, because he
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: falls backwards and I'm like, come on now, you gotta
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: be fucking careful. You got that long hair on that escalator.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: This is like final destination. Shit like that freaks me out,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Like I just think back to when Triple H took
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: the tombstone on the escalator penn station from the Undertaker
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: all those years ago, and his hair was even longer,
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: and I'm like, man, you're you're really tempting fate when
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: you do stuff like that that it is funny. See,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: it's final destination, I'm telling you. Imagine his hair gets
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: caught and the escalator just keeps going. What do you do?
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't even want to think about it.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: But thankfully that didn't happen to him. And when the
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: escalator gets to the top, the Bucks are already there
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: and they hit another super kick and he goes down
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: the escalator Androte took out Jericho to Omega with a
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: double spinning elbow, and then he goes over to the
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: female fan in the front row and he's going to
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: get the phone number, and they got to take the
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: selfie and there was a moment here where and this
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: was also kind of freaky. All of a sudden, there's
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: a woman or what appears to be a woman the
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: blonde wig, except it's not a woman. It's Lucasaurus with
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: a blonde wig on. And I think somebody on commentary,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: I'm almost positive somebody on common probably Taz, made reference
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: to Gremlins. That's exactly what it reminded me of. It
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: was from It was like a scene out of one
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: of the Gremlins movies where the gremlin has like the
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: long hair. This was just freaky. And then he sprayed.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I don't know what did he spray. He like spit
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: missed in Andrade's face. I guess there are some dinosaurs
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: that can do that. I guess what was that dinosaur
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: that that misted? Wayne God, what the fuck is that
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: guy's name? The guy who played newman on Seinfeld from
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: from the first Jurassic Park movie. There's that one dinosaur
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: where like they're in the car and he comes face
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: to face with this thing and it like spits fucking
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: black goo in his face. Maybe that's what it was.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I don't know. In this case, it was green, so
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: he missed it Androte in the face. There was also
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: some action in the back and like the catering area,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Tommy Invincible was there and so he ended up taking
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: a bump in all of this, he got beat up
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: I think by Mark Davis. Satinam Singh was sitting there
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: with his back turned. He was eating food, I think,
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Androte bumped into him. Satinam got food all over his face.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: So he did the slow like stand up, and Androte
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: looks up at him. He's like, oh fuck. It's like,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: uh oh, Wayne Knight, Yes, was it a velociraptor? Is that?
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: I don't think it was a velociraptor. I don't think
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: it was a velociraptor. All I know is that that
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: scene still lives rent free in my head from that movie.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: I think for me, that was the scariest scene in
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: the entire movie. I think even more than when the
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: kids are trapped in the car with the sun and
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: the t Rex is trying to get to them. I
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: think it's that scene in the car with the dinosaur
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: when it sprayed that shit in his face. It's not
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: a velociraptor. It's a I have pronounced this now a
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: di loaf, a di loaf of saurus. I don't even
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: know what that is. We'll just call him a scary
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: motherfucker and we'll leave it at that. So then Satinham
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Saying starts throwing food. Big food fight breaks out backstage
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: the dogs in the box. They fight back up the aisle.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: Matt Jackson he smashes the dogs with some trash can shots.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: Clark Connors was placed in a shopping cart and then
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: they put a garbage can on top of him, on
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: top of his head while he's sitting in the shopping
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: cart and they start wheeling him down the aisle. Into
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: a superkick, Nick Jackson gives a superkick to the garbage
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: can Totalona. He reappeared. He mowed down the bucks and
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: he loaded Matt in the shopping cart and then Bishop
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Kahn flew in with a shotgun dropkick to the garbage
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: can tot Leona. He lifted the shopping cart over his head.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: He's just throwing it around, I mean, just like it
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: weighs nothing. Shelton Benjamin runs back out and he got
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: hit by the shally shot by David Finley, and Lashley
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: also took a Shillalee shot. So we go backstage. Jericho
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: and Ricochet are now brawling with tennis rackets, and actually
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: Ricochet has a normal sized tennis racket. Jericho opens a
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: door and standing there is Luther, who has nothing to
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: do anymore because Tony Storm is gone for the time being,
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: so Luther is without his lady friend. The funny thing is,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: like Luther, the reason he even has a job in
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: aw is because of his friendship that goes back many
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: years with Chris Jericho. So, I mean those two guys
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: are like this. So he got to do a little
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: spot here with Jericho where he's standing there and he
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: presents Jericho with this oversized tennis racket. This is like
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: it'd be like the Big Shows tennis, right. I remember
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: the Big Show used that large steel chair in his
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: chairs match with Seamus all those years ago. Was like this,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: comically like gigantic chair. This was a comically gigantic tennis racket.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: So he uses that as a weapon on Ricochet, and
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: then there's a tennis ball machine and he starts firing
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: balls at Ricochet, and Jericho made the cover at his
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: false count anywhere only got a two count, so we
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: got the stereo Northern Lights supplexes from Matt Jackson and
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Shelton Benjamin to the Dogs and the actually Benjamin was
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: doing the Germans suplexes that is, and Matt was doing
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: the Northern Lights suplexes. Again, just mass chaos here, just
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: mass care. And this is the point in the match
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: where I was like, all right, you know what this is.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: They were losing the crowd at one point where it
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: started to get very quiet, and I was like, all right,
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: this this match has gone on for a little too long,
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Like we need to send this home and wrap this. Say,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: it had already gone over twenty minutes at this point,
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: twenty twenty five minutes. This did not need thirty one minutes.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I will say that this did not need to go
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: that long. Mark Davis is in he's out back. He's
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: out back. His eye is bandaged because when they were
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: in the catering area, there was a spot where he
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: took a drop toll hold and he went face first
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: into a chair that was laying on the ground, but
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: the legs were sticking up, so one of the legs
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: of the chair went into his eye. So I guess
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: since then he had gotten the eye bandage you can
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: see like there's blood on the bandage, his blood on
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: his back, either that or ketchup from the food fight.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: I don't know what it was. But he's outside and
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: he sees a golf cart and I'm like, oh, okay,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: we're kind of hearkening back to the original stadium stampede now.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: But then we hear the horn honking and the camera
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: pans over and it's Jack Perry and he is driving
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: the Jurassic Express bus. I don't know how fast he
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: was going. He's going pretty fucking fast, and so he
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: comes barreling in and he smashes right into the golf cart.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: There's a car behind. It just smashes into them. And
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: I didn't see Mark Davison. There was pretty clear Mark
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Davison moved out of the way. Tony Schavanni on commentary
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: is like freaking out, like, oh my god, he just
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: killed Mark Davis. Mark Davis is in there. I go, no,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: he's not. What are you talking about? But he's selling
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: it like he's in there. Perry gets out of the
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: bus and just leaves the crime scene. It's now a
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: crime scene, and so he just leaves the crime scene.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: And so that's what happened outside. Meanwhile, a few minutes later,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: they're all out in the ringside area brawling and I'm like, oh,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Mark Davis is back. I'm like, okay, Tony Mark Davis
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: is just no sold death. There was a lot of
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: no selling in this match, but that's taking it to
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: a whole new level. He no sold being mowed down
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: by a bus, so I think he'll be okay. Anyway.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: This ended really the only way that it could, with
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: Jericho hitting a Lion Salt, but it wasn't to Ricochet,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: even though Ricochet came down where Ricochet was kind of
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: surrounded by all of the babyfaces, but Bishop Khan came
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: to his aid. He ended up eating the Lion Salt
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: and Jericho got the pin, and when the match was over,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Jericho set up. There was one last table outside that
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: had not been broken, so he set the table up.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: He stood on the ring steps and he did a splash.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: He took a bump through the table and then pointed
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: up at the heavens in tribute to Sabu and on
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: commentary tas he made a comment he goes boy man.
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: I knew he was going to do that because he
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: was starting to get emotional. He had no idea that
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: Jericho was going to pay tribute to Saboo in that way,
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: So that was kind of a nice moment there. I
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: don't know what else to say about this except that
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: this was just mass chaos, exactly what you would expect
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: that of a match like this. It will be a
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: very polarizing match. There were people that will look at
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: this match and go, this was fucking terrible. This was awful.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: It was just a bunch of spots and no selling
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: and silliness, and yes, that's exactly what it was. And
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: there were times that they will do these matches and
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: I'm just not into it, and then there were other
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: times where it's the best thing on the entire show.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: That's kind of how I felt about it last year.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: I enjoyed this, I had fun with it. Was it perfect?
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Did I like everything about it? No? Did I like
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: it as much as anarchy in the arena last year?
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: I did not. So, yeah, it's going to be just
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: a very polarizing match. If you liked it, great. If
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: you didn't like it, I get it. It was just
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: it was meant to break up. I think the monotony
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: of all the wrestling matches by just doing something really
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: silly and just wild. And it was a way to
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: get a bunch of people on the show because they
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: didn't really have room for them to be doing anything else.
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: So he wanted Omega and he wanted you know, Jericho
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: and Andrade and the Bucks and the hurt Cinda kid.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: It was a way to get them all on the show.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: What I would have done, I would have shaved off
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: a good eight to ten minutes, and I think you
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: could have accomplished the same thing, and you could have
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: cut out some of the fat, trim some of the
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: fat in the middle of the match. But otherwise I
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: had fun with it. It was exactly what it was
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: supposed to be. But then the main event did not
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: go to the ring until eleven thirty five PM. Welcome
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: to aw This week's episode is sponsored by Wicks. Have
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: you ever heard of vibe coding before, because I hadn't
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: until recently. But it's exactly as it sounds. You're looking
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: for a certain vibe and you your website to fit

- 1:36:04Speaker 1: what you want it to look like and then make
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: it a reality. And the way you do that is
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: with Wix's new Harmony editor. It's pretty amazing. All you

- 1:37:00Speaker 1: slash Harmony. So we had the aw World Heavyweight Championship
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: on the line here in this main event Darby Allen
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: this was what was this number eight? I believe title
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: defense number eight. In a little over a month since
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: he won the championship, defending against the former champion MJF
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: title versus Hair. They had one lone electric razor sitting
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: on a table with a spotlight on it on stage.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: As MJF came out, he was staring at it. He
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: looked nervous as fuck. It was right there and when
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Darby came out too, there it is that one razor
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: is just sitting there on that table, and they have
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: like a one of those big announcer chairs like the
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: office chairs sitting up there as well. In the event
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: the when this match is over, they need to sit
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: Darby Allen or sit MJF down to allow Darby Allen
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: to shave his head. The match starts, and it had
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: to be in the first I don't know, sixty seconds,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: ninety seconds maybe of this match, Darby Allen took just
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: a terrible bump. There was a toepey at the start
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: of the match where his feet caught the top rope
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: which stalled his momentum. On the way down. He was
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: doing the missile launch that he does through the ropes
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: right out in front of the announcers. His feet caught
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: the top rope and so what ended up happening is
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: it looked like he came down directly on his head
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: on the floor. It was more the back of his
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: neck or it kind of folded him up a little
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: bit like his spine. But it looked horrendous, It looked
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: it was just it was terrible. And this is the
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: beginning of the match. So that should tell you right there,
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: that sets the tone, okay for what you can expect
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: that of Darby Allen here in this match. So MJF
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: he goes right to work on him and he is
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: just he's stiff, and the shit out of this guy.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: Power bomb to the edge of the ring. He took
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: him into the ring. He came a power bomb across
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: the knee. They wound up on the ropes where MJF
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: wanted an avalanche tombstone Darby they'll counter it out into
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: a stun dog and this crazy son of a bitch,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: he goes right back to do the same fucking move,
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: and so he hits another suicide dive. This time he
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: knocks MJF over the announced desk. Then he had MJF
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: on the apron. MJF was laying half in, half out,
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: and Darby goes up to the top rope and so
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: he's going to do a coffin drop, but then that's
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: not enough. He climbs to the tippy top of the post.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: He's going to do a coffin drop off the top
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: of the post to MJF on the apron. What do
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: you think happened? Of course, MJF slides out of harm's way.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Darby Allen dives backwards and he crashes and burns with
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: the coffin drop on the apron. So MJF goes outside.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: He turns the ring steps over onto their side, and
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: he's now standing on top of the ring steps on
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: the side of the ring steps with Darby, and he
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: delivers a fucking package pile driver on the steps, which
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: honestly looked worse for MJF because he landed right down
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: on his tailbone, and so I'm sure that probably didn't
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: feel too good. It seemed like it had more consequences
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: for him than it did for Darby, because you know,
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: Darby has nothing in his head anyway. So MJF went
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: for a side headlock. Darby shoved him towards the referee.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: MJF stopped short, but in that brief moment that Bryce
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Remsburg was distracted, Darby hit a low blow and he
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: got a side headlocked takeover only for a near fall, right,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: That's how he won the title. Then he got MJF
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: trapped at a scorpion deathlock. MJF was really milking this
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: potential tap out here. He was like, you know, going
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: like this, like he was gonna, yeah, he was gonna
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: lose his hair, he was about to go bald, and
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: he was really milking this. Got the rope brake. Darby
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: quickly rushed up to the top for a coffin drop. MJF, though,
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: got the knees up on the way down. Then he
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: got a earfall, so MJF goes for a heat seeker.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Darby though, shoves him off and he sling shots into
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: the ring, almost into a cutter, but Darby ends up
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: getting him in a position for a scorpion death drop. Instead,
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: he nails it and now both met her down. So
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: as they're laying there, we got dueling chance of Let's
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: go Darby, MJF. Let's go Darby, MJF. Yeah, Winston, that's
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: actually a pretty good way of putting it. Winston says,
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: Darby may not have a long career, but it is
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: a memorable one that is true. I don't know that
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Darby is gonna be taking these kinds of bumps when
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: he's in his forties and fifties, but it will certainly
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: be memorable. So they traded about twenty five near falls
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: at this point in cradles. I'm not exaggerating. It was
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: somewhere in the range of twenty to twenty five rapid
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: fire like near falls, and even that, like some people
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: really don't like when they do that. Some people love
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: that spot because you see that in matches. Sometimes they
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: took it to like the extreme though. They just kept
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: going back and forth. One guy would roll a one count,
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: roll him over a one count. They were like rolling
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: around the ring with a series of one counts and
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: two counts until Darby hit a code read for a
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: very close near fall. So MJF. He's leaning on the
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: bottom rope now on one he's like sitting down, leaning
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: up against the bottom rope on one side, looks exhausted.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: Darby is on the opposite side of the ring. He's
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: leaning against the bottom rope and they're just they're staring
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: at each other, right, They're just looking at one another
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: and they're struggling back to their feet. They're they pained
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: expressions on their faces. So then they resumed combat. MJF.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: He ended up outside. Darby went for yet another low topey.
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: MJF pulls the cameramen in Harm's way, and Darby hits
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: the cameramen. He wipes out the cameraman. Really, they showed
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: a replay of it from behind the cameraman, and really
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: he wiped out the camera more than he did the
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: man behind the camera. He sold it anyway, and now
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: there's like doctors and officials that are at ringside. They're
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: surrounding the cameraman and they're like tending to this guy
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: as if you know, he had taken a bullet, you know, which,
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: in a way, I guess he kind of did, but
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: again it was more the camera that took the brunt
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: of the impact. So they all huddled around him for
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: a while. They helped him to the back. Tony Savani says,
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: the first time I could ever remember seeing a cameraman,
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: you know, help to the back. In fairness, I'm sure
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: Tony has never watched the first Hell in a Cell
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: match between Seawn Michaels and the Undertaker, So it's okay.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: So MJF. He got Darby on his shoulders, and he
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: walked him up to the stage and he sat him
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: in that office chair that I mentioned. And MJF goes
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: over to the table and he grabs the shears. Now
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: Darby doesn't have a whole lot of hair on his
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: head anyway, he's got a fucking mohawk, but he's got
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: the shears. He goes to use the shears on Darby. Darby, though,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: kicks them away, and he gets a guillotine applied, and
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: MJF is struggling and struggling, and eventually he goes out. Right,
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: he's out, but it's not false count anywhere, so Darby
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: can't pin him on the stage. Instead, he picks up
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: MJF and he lays him out across the table that
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: again had the razor on it, and then he glances
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: back up behind him where the tron is the set,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: the scaffolding, right, the gears are going in this man's head. Right,
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: you can only imagine what he must be thinking. And
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: so he begins climbing, and he had to be It
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: was at least twenty feet, maybe more. It could have
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: been twenty five, but he was up maybe let's say
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: twenty feet. He was up there a pretty good amount,
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: and he just gives the cactush jack, bang bang, cactus jack,
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: and he jumps off with a perfect coffin drop. He
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: nailed it right. There's not a lot of room for
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: error here. He nailed the perfect coffin drop off the
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: scaffolding down through the table. Could not have landed that
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: any better other than the fact that when he came up,
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: he was busted open from the back of his head
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: and his mohawk had gone full red. So I don't
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: know if he hit his head just like a little
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: platform there that was kind of elevated, almost like a step,
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: like where the table was. I don't know if he
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: hit his on that, I don't know. I don't know,
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: but the back of his head was blood red. And
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: that was honestly the most blood that we had all night,
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: outside of some incidental blood. I think Cope maybe had
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: some blood by his eye cuts on people's back. Maybe
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: this was the most blood we had on the entire show.
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: And wouldn't you know, at least I found it to
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: be more impactful that way. It's the first thing I noticed.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: I said, wait a minute, this is the first time
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: all night that we've seen that much blood and it
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: wasn't even like anything like he wasn't wearing a crimson
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: mask or anything like that. But it just it has
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: more of an effect when you use it sparingly, especially
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: if you save it for your main event. I understand
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: you can't always do that, you have other stipulation matches
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: on these shows, but it definitely has more of an
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: impact when you haven't already seen it in fucking four
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: or five other matches on the show, including the opener. Right,
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: it's going to mean more. So they make their way
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: back to the ring. Darby goes up top. He lands
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: another coffin drop into the cover. He gets the one,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: he gets the two kick out by MJF. So Darby
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: again with the scorpion deathlock applied, and he's kind of
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: reaching back and grabbing the back of his head. He
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: sees the blood and then he just falls forward and
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: passes out, the same spot they did in the match
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: that he had with Sammy gevar on Collision where he
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: had him in the scorpion deathlock and he just fell
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: forward because for a moment there he passed out. So
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: he collapses to the mat and they got this great
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: camera shot of MJF flashing is just this devilish grin,
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: like he realizes he just caught a big break and
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: he went for a headlocked takeover. Darby though countered into
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: a scorpion death drop and then he kicked up and
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: he makes the climb again, but MJF he shakes the
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: rope and Darby ends up getting crotched on the ropes.
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: MJF goes back to the ropes and again he's going
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: to go for an avalanche tombstone. He gets him in
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: position for it and he nails it, and I'm like, okay, now,
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: you just gave this man who nearly broke his neck
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: earlier in the match. You just gave him an avalanche tombstone.
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: If we're not going home here, then we're doing something wrong.
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: So after that, he does the headlock takeover and he
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: gets the pin as he should have, and he wins
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: for the third time in his career the AW World Championship.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: And when the match was over, Darby had to be
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: loaded onto a stretcher outside and then they strapped him
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: onto the gurney. Once he was nice and secure, MJF
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: climbs out onto the apron shoes everybody away right kicks
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: him away, and he kind of puts one foot on
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: the gurney and stands towering over Darby, holding up the
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: championship that only minutes earlier still belonged to Darby, but
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: no longer belongs to him. It is once again back
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: around the waist of MJF. So he's posing over him.
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: Now Kevin Knight comes out, the TNT champion who had
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: no match on this show. He sprints out to the
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: ring and MJF he bails. And where I knew, where
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: I knew things were about to go south for Darby
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: is when they position conveniently positioned the stretcher outside the
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: ring in such a way where Kevin Knight was on
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: the ropes kind of looking at MJF. And then I
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: see the stretcher was moved into the perfect position for
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: someone to do a dive onto it, and sure enough,
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: Kevin Knight hits a UFO splash and twisting splash down
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: onto the gurney and onto Darby. Allen and the fans
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: are shocked by this. The announcers are in shock, Oh
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: my god, what are you doing. MJF initially was shocked,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: and then he started smiling and applauding as he's watching
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: all of this and the announcer. They go off the
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: air with the announcers wondering why this is where Jim
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Ross could have been very effective? Why damn it? Why?
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: I don't know if he still has the energy in
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: him to kind of give a good life. Why damn it?
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: Tell me why? But that's a classic JR. Call. Remember
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: the Invasion pay per view in O one where Austin
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: turned on Team WWF. Why tell me why? Actually, go
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: back to the end of WrestleMania X seven, same thing, right,
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Why Why did he turn? Why did he turn his
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: back on all the fans and side with Vince McMahon.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: Why damn it? Why? So that's how the pay per
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: view went off the ear. The match itself, I thought
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: between these two was excellent. MJF and Darby Allen. I
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: don't know that they've ever had a bad match, at
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: least in not in aw not any of the matches
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: I've ever seen the two of them have. I still
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: remember the first match. God, what pay per view was that?
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: Was that? How to be Full Gear? Right? Full Gear
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. They opened the show. They had a
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: great and they were part of that four way it
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: doubled or nothing. A few years ago, three years ago.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: I'm not going to count the match they had on
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: TV a month ago because it was two minutes. These
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: two just they have a certain chemistry working together. And
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: part of it also is just the fact that Darby Allen,
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: you know, for whatever you want to say about him, right,
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: he's a stuntman. He takes these just ridiculous bumps, and
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: he's always escalating. And the fact is like in this
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: rain that he had over these last four weeks or
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: whatever it's been, that's been a little bit longer, maybe
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: like six weeks, but over this run that he had,
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: he didn't have one bad match. Find me the bad
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: match that Darby Allen had when he was in there
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: with with the people that he was in the ring with, right,
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: whether it was Sammy Gavara, Pack, Brody King, Kevin Knight,
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: the Wrestle, Kevin Knight, MJF, didn't matter who it was, like,
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: he went in there and had some really fun, exciting matches.
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: I think when people look back on this rain, and again,
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: I know other people have talked about this. I mean
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: people sent me clips of like Alvarez or whatever, generational.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: I'm not going to use any stupid words like that.
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: All I'm gonna say is, looking back at it now,
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: this was a fun run. He was defending the title
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: every single week and going out there and having these
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: crazy ass matches that people were into. Was it really
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: such a big deal? And I said this at the
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: time when they did the title change initially, like I
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: didn't really think it was some horrible, horrendous Oh my god,
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: what have they done? Like give me a fucking break,
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like if MJF held onto
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: the championship, he would not have been defending the title
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: weekly on television like Darby was. And I'm not saying
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: he should, but I'm just saying it's not like we
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: would have been in this like incredibly exciting period. They
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: would have been building to whatever his match was going
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: to be a double or nothing. With Darby, he was
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: on television wrestling different people every single week. It was
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: like a side quest. That's how I look at it.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: I always knew MJF was going to get the belt
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: back on this show. Most likely it was not going
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: to be a long run for Darby. You knew from
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: the moment he won the belt. It was going to
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: be brief, it was going to be very limited, right,
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: and so what's the harm in taking a little detour
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: and then putting the belt back on MJF? Like, there's
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that. And he was going out there
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: on television and having really fun matches. So where this
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: run will rank in the history of the AW World Championship,
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: I'll leave that up to all of you to decide.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: All I know is that he went out there and
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: he made the most of the time that he had
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: with that fucking belt, and he killed himself as he
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: always does. But he was doing it on a weekly basis,
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: and story wise, right, he ran himself into the ground, right,
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: He abused his body in such a way where he
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: simply just ran out of gas and he couldn't take anymore.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: MJF didn't cheat to win, Nobody interfered on his behalf.
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: He didn't use the dynamite diamond ring, he didn't do
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: anything overlean nefarious. He beat the guy clean, He beat Darby,
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: Allen clean. Darby Allen burned himself out. That's the story.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: He's got nobody to blame but himself. But Darby went
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: out there and had good matches every week and MJF.
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: Look at the matches he's had this year. Look at
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: the match he had with Kenny Omega, look at the
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: match he had with Hangman, the match tonight with Darby.
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: He goes out there and he has great matches when
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: the spotlight is on him and the lights are bright,
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: and he's in the main event, and he knows that
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: all eyes are on him, and he's the guy. He
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: knows how to go out there and have a fucking
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: match of the year. So you put the two of
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: them together, they just have good chemistry together. So I
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: thought it was an excellent main event. Kevin Knight as
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: a heel, it just feels right if anybody was going
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: to go heal there between him and Speedball, how to
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: be Kevin Knight. You can't do It's Speedball is just
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: not going to work. Now. The way that I see
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: this now is, well, first of all, the question is
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: how will speedball react? Right, We'll find that on Wednesday,
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: probably not very well. And then the way I see
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: this playing out is Darby should be taking a little
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: bit of a break because my God, so let him
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: get some time off, and then you do Kevin Knight
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: and Speedball first, right, you can do it forbidden door,
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: I mean, whenever you want to do it. But that's
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: got to be. That's got to be the next match
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: we get. You got to be building to Kevin Knight
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: and speedball. This is the end of jet Speed. It
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: should be you build to that match and then when
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: Darby is ready to come back in time for all in.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: I think that's the Wembley match. I think you do
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: Darby and Kevin Knight in London. So just as I'm
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: looking at like the lay of the land here, it
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: would seem to me like that would make the most sense.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: The pieces seem to be falling into place for some
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: of the key matches when it comes to Wembley. You
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: know the tag team stuff again, we'll see what teams
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: come in and when they come in, the machine guns
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: the New Day and where they fit into the picture there.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: But you can kind of see like you could start
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: sketching a card out for London even though it's a
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: few months away. But up and down the cards to
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: night Man. I mean, this was just a great pay
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: per view. There was a lot going on. There were returns,
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: there were turns, there were just great fucking matches on
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: this show. I had fun with it. Very little downtime,
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: you know, with some of the matches in the middle
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: of the card. But it was just a great show.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: I think it probably was the best double or nothing
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: they've ever done, and it will go down as one
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: of the better aw pay per views that they have
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: ever done. I thought they they really hit a home
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: run tonight, which they had to. You know, you had
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: a big sellout crowd in New York. You gotta go
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: out there and hit a home run, and that's what
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: they did. Plus I think a lot of those people
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: were already in a good mood anyway, because the Knicks
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: are killing it. So you don't have to be a
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: big basketball fan to feel like the enthusiasm right now
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: in New York like they're very happy, maybe not with
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: the Mets or the Yankees, but like they're very happy
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: about the Knicks. So we're all in a very good
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: mood with everything that's been going on. But anyway, excellent
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: pay per view, thumbs up show. Take a look at
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: your super Chats. Yeah, and Darby, that's right, Darby's getting
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: married soon, so maybe that okay, well that makes sense
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: then if he is going to be taking some time off.
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: I think he's getting married next month. Yeah, I believe
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: he is getting married next month, getting married to a
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: girl that he knew from like childhood. I guess they
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: must have I don't know, reconnected. I don't know if
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: they were childhood sweethearts, but like I know, I remember
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: reading that they were like friends from when they were
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: much younger. And so apparently he's getting married soon. Matty
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: says he Solo was Leo in character the whole time
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: at h og No comment, no comment. You ain't gonna
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: get no h O g unreal here. We gotta we
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: gotta keep, we gotta keep some stuff behind the curtain. Hey,
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: Joseph Stewart, he says, happy Sunday, It's not Sunday anymore.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: It's Monday morning, and all you crazy solb's are hanging
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: out with me at two thirty in the morning. I
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: appreciate that. So, in your opinion, is Tony Soprano the
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: greatest TV character of all time? Probably not. I don't
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: know who the greatest TV character is of all time,
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: but I'm not prepared to say that it's Tony. Tony
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: is one of the great ones, though. Hey, Jeremy thank you.
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Have a good night, brother. But I'll
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: agree with you, though, Joseph on your second question, those
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: are two of the greatest characters. Also, he's coming in
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: with a nine to ninety nine. I mentioned that Sebastian
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: stan is going to be playing many different roles in
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: The Batman Part two. He's going to be a busy guy.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Like he says happy birthday, Priscilla, Priscilla. I thought that
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: said Priscilla Kelly, Priscilla Presley. I almost completely misread that.
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: And Alfred Molina, have you seen the Leonardo DiCaprio movie
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: Gangs of New York? I have? And what is your
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: favorite DiCaprio movie of all time? I don't know. Maybe
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: they departed and may have to go with that one.
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: How was Shutter Island? That's why I never saw that one?
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: Is that worth seeing? Do you think Stone Cold Steve
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: Austin's theme is WWE's greatest theme of all time? No,
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: it's one of them, but it's not the greatest. I
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: don't really have On that next question, I don't really
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: have a favorite moment between them. I think individually they
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: play their roles great, but I don't have like a
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: specific moment. Have I seen the Masters of the Universe
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: movie action figure TV commercial? It looks awesome. I have not.
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: I am not, but I know it's coming out, not
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: this week but next week, and I'm just trying to
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: figure out when I'm going to be able to see
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: that movie. Already got my tickets for the back rooms.
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: This week. I have to see Shutter Island. Okay, Okay,
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: I didn't know it was that well received. Happy anniversary
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade released in theaters
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: in nineteen eighty nine. On this day in storyline was
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: Triple H, the one behind Stone Call getting run over
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: by Rakishi. Yes, that was the big reveal, Rikeshi said.
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: Remember Rikeshy said he did it for the Rock. He
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: was full of shit. He did it for Triple H
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: because he got paid. And Happy belated heavenly birthday to
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: Bray Wyatt and I wonder how old he would have been.
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: Probably forty ish right. Happy early birthday to Roman Reigns
- 2:02:24Speaker 1: in Bob Dallas. Both of their birthdays are tomorrow on
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: the same day. They're making Roman Reigns work on his birthday. Anyway, Joseph,
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: thank you for the support as always, mister e nineteen
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: seventy six. Here's to the tip jar. Thanks for everything
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: you do. Sala monster, stay pressing forward. I will try.
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: I will do so as long as you keep showing up,
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: I'll be here. Refresh this list here and get going here,
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: Ace of Masta, hardest working podcaster on a late Sunday night,
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: What do you think of a tag team casino gauntlet?
- 2:03:05Speaker 1: Match it all in with New Day and the MotorCity
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: machine Guns debuting? I thought Solo said he has to
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: where's your mind? Dad? I thought Solo said, he has
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: tickets for the back door. That may be where you're
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: hanging out later this week. That's not where I'm gonna be.
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: You could take the back door if you want to, brother,
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: I'm going in the front. Well, what about a tag
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: team casino gauntlet? Match it all in with New Day
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: and MotorCity machine Guns debuting? A tag team casino Gauntlet
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: would be interesting. It would be a little bit of
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: a different spin. I think that could work well, I mean,
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: I wonder, Well, I don't know, I mean, would it still?
- 2:03:55Speaker 1: I guess it would still be one fall to a finish, right,
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: I mean the rules? I guess it's still work the
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: exact same way. I still feel like at least one
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: of those teams is going to end up in a
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: tag team championship match, if not both of them. Watching
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: AW Double or Nothing tonight was fun. That shit crazy
- 2:04:22Speaker 1: and glorious as dried chicken without flavor. It was a
- 2:04:27Speaker 1: fun show. Also, ever since Tony Kahn reconnected to his
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: spiritual side, the booking of AW continues to deliver. They
- 2:04:35Speaker 1: want pro wrestling to be loved and not disappointing in
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: the United States. Well, this show is certainly better than
- 2:04:44Speaker 1: any other wrestling show that we've had all year. I mean,
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: this blew all the other ones out of the water.
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: So as of May of twenty twenty six, they've got
- 2:04:54Speaker 1: pay per View of the Year on lock. Let's see
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: what the rest of the year brings. Everybody else has
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: to step up their game. San Juan Wolf with the
- 2:05:04Speaker 1: nineteen ninety nine we just got ourselves a contender for
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: pay per View of the Year. Yes more, San Juan Wolf.
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: Oh what was I gonna ask you? I was gonna
- 2:05:14Speaker 1: ask you a question. I just forgot what it was. Yeah,
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say contender, I would say we just
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: we got ourselves our pay per view of the year,
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: where we still have seven more months to go, so
- 2:05:27Speaker 1: that could change. Morris is top to bottom. This is
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: the best AAW pay per view ever, wow, he says. Ever,
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: it's a pretty high bar, Alexander. According to Uncle Dave,
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: the commission said no blood for the event on the
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: Twitter machine. I mean clearly someone said something, because if
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: this was any other AW pay per view in any
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: other city, it would have been a fucking blood bath.
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: So I don't doubt that the commission had something to
- 2:06:06Speaker 1: do with that. Dev to dust. The New York Mets
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: will win one hundred and five games and win the
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: World Series? Sure, what year will that be? Will I
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: still be among the living when that year finally comes?
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: You let me know. Oriole's peak, a major pay per
- 2:06:30Speaker 1: view ended with a talented young black man's standing tall.
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: I just know Triple K is seething, wondering if that
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: is even legal to do. Where did all of it?
- 2:06:42Speaker 1: I see a lot of this on social media, this
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: Triple K nonsense stuff. Where did this start? Dried Chicken
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: says nothing bland, flat or dry. After tonight, Tony Kahan
- 2:06:57Speaker 1: was booking AW double or nothing like he was cooking
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: in the kitchen like a chef. Jeremy Rose mjfaw title
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: reigns over under seventeen. He will not have seventeen. He
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: will not have double digits. I don't think he even
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: gets to double digits. I don't think they're going to
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: bounce the world title around quite that much. Oriole's peak.
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: I love Mina. I hope she gets her moments soon.
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: Depending on when Tony Storm comes back, they could still
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: end up revealing that she was the one behind it.
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: Tem Gen Zephyr was at the show Live epic show
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: for sure. Okata Takeshta certainly match of the Year contender.
- 2:07:51Speaker 1: Crowd was electric, especially for that match. That's my match
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: of the night, by the way. That honestly, that's my
- 2:08:00Speaker 1: match of the year so far. That is my match
- 2:08:03Speaker 1: of the year for twenty twenty six as of this moment.
- 2:08:06Speaker 1: Fucking love that match. The average grunt and still the
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: undisputed king of pay per views, all elite wrestling. That
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: was the greatest double or nothing of all time and
- 2:08:16Speaker 1: an all time or pay per view can tender. Indeed,
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: it was Mike with a five unpopular opinion. I am
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: kind of bored with Moxley. It really should have ended
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: the Death Writers after Max lost to Hangman last year.
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: In my opinion, I thought that's where we were headed,
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: and then it just kept going. I can't believe that
- 2:08:49Speaker 1: Death Writers are still a thing, but they've they've managed
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: to survive. I suppose that the Judgment Day can still
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: live on, then I guess so can the Riders Tuxedo
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: t Servo with fifteen dollars, no message, just showing some love.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Stand the man with a twenty five
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: dollars pre mode unlocked. Tonight, Stan, you are indeed the man.
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: Thank you. I think that might be be that might
- 2:09:23Speaker 1: be the second biggest one tonight. Ye. Still getting through
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: the SoundOff, but very keen for this review. Solo you
- 2:09:32Speaker 1: are the goat. Yeah, if you missed it, you've got
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: to check out the sound up brandw SoundOff dropped earlier today.
- 2:09:39Speaker 1: Some good stuff in there. It'll be waiting for you
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: on your Monday morning if you missed it today. MGM
- 2:09:44Speaker 1: ballin with a nine ninety nine attended h og on
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: Friday banger, especially Mason versus Silver attended double or Nothing
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: Tonight Banger. Weekends like this remind me, why I love
- 2:09:57Speaker 1: this shit. Weekly television sucks the fato me, but aw
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: and h og deliver. Yeah. You know, we have a
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: lot of people that are like local to New York,
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: not even necessarily just the five boroughs and you could
- 2:10:12Speaker 1: be on Long Island. Some people come from Jersey, but
- 2:10:16Speaker 1: they're like regulars at a lot of the local shows,
- 2:10:18Speaker 1: and they always have fun. They always have fun. The
- 2:10:21Speaker 1: weekly television. Look, it's hard to compare the weekly television
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: to either going to wrestling live or watching the pay
- 2:10:29Speaker 1: per views because it's just a totally different They serve
- 2:10:33Speaker 1: two totally different purposes. So, like, the weekly shows are
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: going to be more arduous to sit through because of
- 2:10:40Speaker 1: all the you know, commercial breaks and you know, all
- 2:10:45Speaker 1: the shit that they have to promote, and then you're
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: very limited in the time that you have on some
- 2:10:49Speaker 1: of these shows. But to me, it's just it's not
- 2:10:53Speaker 1: an excuse to put together bad television. And unfortunately we've
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: got a lot of bad television this year. Hopefully that'll
- 2:11:02Speaker 1: start to change. Stadium j Takashta versus Ocada will always
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: be the best match on any cards. Saw it live
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: and it did not disappoint. Thank you for all you
- 2:11:14Speaker 1: do solo. You're very lucky you got to see it live.
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: I would have loved to have been in that building
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: there when those people were losing their minds. Could only
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: imagine what that must have felt like. It's like I'm
- 2:11:27Speaker 1: jealous of the people who were there when they had
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: the and that was at Arthur Ash. I believe the
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: Kenny Omega Brian Danielson match Danielson's first match in ADW,
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: the one and only time they wrestled, and they did
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: that thirty minute draw. To be in the building live
- 2:11:44Speaker 1: for like a match like that, that's special power spying games.
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: With my team Arsenal winning the Premier League for the
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: first time in twenty two years, maybe the Mets will
- 2:11:58Speaker 1: win the World Series very soon. Sure, sure possible. And
- 2:12:06Speaker 1: maybe I'll you know, make babies with Scarlett Johansson. Maybe
- 2:12:09Speaker 1: that'll happen soon too. What do you think the chances
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: are of that happening, Moore says, looking back at it,
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: Darby landed perfectly on MJF and the commentators commented on
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: how he hit the edges when he didn't kind of
- 2:12:31Speaker 1: proves that he bladed well. If he did blade, better
- 2:12:38Speaker 1: not get back to the Commission, but they're going to
- 2:12:40Speaker 1: be in some trouble. It's commission in New York. They
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: don't fuck around Bender mc simpson with a nine ninety
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: nine amazing show. Christian Cage has great, has a great
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: scorpion deathlock. More Athena please. You know what I kind
- 2:12:59Speaker 1: of laughed at is at the end of that tag
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: team title match, you could see like Beth was kind
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: of emotional because she could see what that moment meant
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: to Adam. And then you look at Christian. He never
- 2:13:13Speaker 1: breaks character. He just has this miserable, fucking look on
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: his face the entire time. Guy never breaks character. Mike says,
- 2:13:25Speaker 1: I'm thinking eventually Andrade is going to side with Takeshta
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: in all of the Callus drama. Well, that would make
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: sense because he's been trending Babyface for a while now.
- 2:13:35Speaker 1: That would make sense now that MJF has the belt back.
- 2:13:40Speaker 1: My idea is still very possible, which is if they're
- 2:13:43Speaker 1: going to do another Dynamite show at Arena Mexico in
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: the next few months, that's where you do MJF against
- 2:13:49Speaker 1: Andrade for the world title. Save that match for Arena
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: Mexico kW one five zero. My first wrestling show I've
- 2:14:02Speaker 1: ever been to live after twenty three years of watching
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: pro wrestling at age twenty eight, worth the money, one
- 2:14:09Speaker 1: of the greatest aw shows ever. Well, you've set the
- 2:14:14Speaker 1: bar awfully high now, so it's gonna be tough the
- 2:14:16Speaker 1: next time you go. The next time you go to
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: a show, it's gonna be tough to live up to
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: that show. Tonight, Medium Ugly Lad went to the show
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: in person, and the weakest part of the show was
- 2:14:32Speaker 1: paying twenty seven dollars for chicken tenders and a coke zero.
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: Otherwise had a blast Cheers solo. Well, unfortunately, that is
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: a problem with all concessions these days. It's like I've
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: been going to a lot of movies lately, right, more
- 2:14:51Speaker 1: than I have in years, and I'll be back there
- 2:14:54Speaker 1: again this week. I don't get food anymore at the movies.
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: I don't I co in, they scan my ticket. I
- 2:14:59Speaker 1: go right to the theater because I try to time
- 2:15:02Speaker 1: it where i'll see a movie like late afternoon, mid
- 2:15:06Speaker 1: mid to late afternoon, and so when it lets out,
- 2:15:09Speaker 1: I just go get dinner, so I don't need anything
- 2:15:13Speaker 1: during the movie, and I save my appetite for dinner
- 2:15:15Speaker 1: because I don't feel like like I like the pretzel
- 2:15:17Speaker 1: bytes and you should see how much these pretzel bytes
- 2:15:21Speaker 1: go for. It's ridiculous. I don't even need I don't
- 2:15:27Speaker 1: even need the cheese, just the pretzel bytes. Pretzel bytes,
- 2:15:30Speaker 1: and like a soda, it will cost more than the
- 2:15:34Speaker 1: actual movie ticket will cost. So I'm like, fuck that.
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: I don't buy any snacks. I just go watch my
- 2:15:40Speaker 1: movie and then I go get dinner. Fuck you well now, well, now,
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: with the forty dollars, super Chat took a plunge on
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: aw for the first time in a while, and it
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: was a great show in my opinion. Can't wait to
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: see if Stardom sending Saya Kamatani for Forbidden Door rumors
- 2:16:04Speaker 1: are true. Would love to see people's reaction to the
- 2:16:07Speaker 1: Phoenix Queen. Is that a rumor going around? That'd be
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: great get her on the show. Solo would bring some
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: candy with him from this Well, it's funny you mentioned that. Yeah,
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: I've snuck food in there before. Who gives a shit,
- 2:16:25Speaker 1: I put a water bottle down my fucking pants. I
- 2:16:27Speaker 1: don't care. So Larry David used to do on a
- 2:16:33Speaker 1: Curb your Enthusiasm this journey called Life with the four
- 2:16:42Speaker 1: ninety nine. I was there tonight and oh my god,
- 2:16:44Speaker 1: this was such an awesome show. Top to bottom. We
- 2:16:47Speaker 1: are We're all going nuts. I lost my voice. This
- 2:16:50Speaker 1: arena was perfect for an aw show. Yeah, I think
- 2:16:57Speaker 1: they should definitely run there again in the future. For sure,
- 2:17:01Speaker 1: look nicer when it was still daylight outside, because you
- 2:17:04Speaker 1: could see some of the daylight coming through. You didn't
- 2:17:06Speaker 1: really you didn't really notice it at night. Look better,
- 2:17:11Speaker 1: I think in the daytime. I think it has a
- 2:17:13Speaker 1: retractable roof too, So if the weather was nicer, I
- 2:17:15Speaker 1: do wonder if they would have had that roof open.
- 2:17:19Speaker 1: Mike says, we didn't really need a night heel turn tonight.
- 2:17:21Speaker 1: They should have just saved it for Wednesday. In my opinion, Well,
- 2:17:24Speaker 1: I think they wanted that, probably as a hook to
- 2:17:27Speaker 1: get you to tune in for Wednesday. You know why,
- 2:17:33Speaker 1: damn it? Why now you got to tune into Dynamite
- 2:17:37Speaker 1: to find out why he did what he did. I
- 2:17:40Speaker 1: get it. I guess that's the idea behind it. Also
- 2:17:45Speaker 1: was kind of thinking that we would have gotten a
- 2:17:47Speaker 1: Hangman return tonight, curious on what their plans are with
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: him when he comes back. I'm just saying one way
- 2:17:56Speaker 1: around it. If you were to show up in the
- 2:17:58Speaker 1: Casino Gauntlet and win the Gauntlet match, he'd have a
- 2:18:02Speaker 1: guaranteed World Championship match banked. Maybe that's one potential workaround
- 2:18:07Speaker 1: to the stipulation. Chicago for MBK says thank you. I
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: did not watch the pay per views, so recapping your
- 2:18:18Speaker 1: insights are great. Always time well spent even past one
- 2:18:21Speaker 1: thirty in the morning here. That's right, you're in Chicago.
- 2:18:25Speaker 1: It's one thirty in the morning by you. Actually, no,
- 2:18:27Speaker 1: now it's almost two am where you are, which means
- 2:18:31Speaker 1: it is almost three am where I am. And can
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: I sleep in tomorrow? No, because I have to prepare
- 2:18:43Speaker 1: my notes and everything for the Uncrowned Wrestling show on Tuday,
- 2:18:48Speaker 1: and I got to work on the YouTube clips too
- 2:18:50Speaker 1: from the podcast today. So oh man Venom Caitetsu favorite
- 2:18:56Speaker 1: Cornett wrestler nickname, My god, he's got so many of them, God,
- 2:19:09Speaker 1: what is the what is? It's hard to narrow it
- 2:19:12Speaker 1: down to just one. It's been so many. What did
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: he used to call? Oh? God, the small guy, the
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: small guy with the Jurassic Express. Rockstar Spud not Rockstar Spud,
- 2:19:30Speaker 1: it's the fucking I just forgot the guy's name, but
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: he had like a name for him. Oh, wheeler, wheeler useless.
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: That's a pretty good one. Wheeler useless is actually pretty funny.
- 2:19:48Speaker 1: Marco Stunt, Yes, you would call him Marcos stunted growth
- 2:19:52Speaker 1: and uh, I'm not gonna lie that that would get
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: a chuckle out of me. I don't know. I called
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: him Rockstar, Spud Jedi Joker taking a shot in the dark. Here.
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: Women's wild card is Britt Baker. Mmmm, it's possible. I
- 2:20:19Speaker 1: just feel like if he wanted to bring her back,
- 2:20:21Speaker 1: she would have been back by now. I'm gonna say no.
- 2:20:31Speaker 1: Alex says after the pay per view, WWE should be
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: ashamed of their awful plees. Just a shame. Yeah, I
- 2:20:40Speaker 1: mean there's nothing, there's nothing really premium about them, although
- 2:20:43Speaker 1: I will say the clash in Italy card is shaping
- 2:20:46Speaker 1: up pretty strong for next weekend, so that that could
- 2:20:49Speaker 1: be that could be a sleeper show orioles peak. A
- 2:20:56Speaker 1: black man has not challenged for a world title in
- 2:20:58Speaker 1: WWE since February of twenty twenty two, left Carmelo off
- 2:21:03Speaker 1: WrestleMania did blackface in nineteen ninety nine Booker t segments,
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: et cetera. Now I'm gonna make any excuses for him.
- 2:21:12Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I mean this the idea that it's
- 2:21:17Speaker 1: it's being done now intentionally. People are being left off
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: the show. Like I was watching Smack That on Friday
- 2:21:25Speaker 1: and that segment with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams and
- 2:21:28Speaker 1: they were Ricky Saints out there. There's no reason like
- 2:21:32Speaker 1: a Carmelo Hayes or a Trick Williams cannot work themselves
- 2:21:36Speaker 1: up into that like top and Trick is already in
- 2:21:40Speaker 1: a position where the fans are behind him, so it's
- 2:21:43Speaker 1: not unrealistic to expect that even inside of this year.
- 2:21:47Speaker 1: You know, he couldn't end up in like a main
- 2:21:49Speaker 1: event level spot on SmackDown. You look at a guy
- 2:21:53Speaker 1: like Obafemi, I know he's still very new. Like if
- 2:21:56Speaker 1: we're still talking about some of these guys in like
- 2:22:00Speaker 1: six months or a year and they're still not there,
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: then there's something going on because there were just certain
- 2:22:08Speaker 1: people and Oba is one of those people. There's just
- 2:22:10Speaker 1: certain people where you expect them to be at a
- 2:22:13Speaker 1: certain level at a certain point, and that point is
- 2:22:17Speaker 1: in the not too distant future. And if it doesn't
- 2:22:19Speaker 1: work out that way and there's seemingly no other explanation
- 2:22:22Speaker 1: for it, then I would start to be very curious.
- 2:22:26Speaker 1: MGM balland the Mets would have to go eighty three
- 2:22:29Speaker 1: and twenty six to reach one hundred and five wins
- 2:22:33Speaker 1: on the season. Not even in your dreams, not even
- 2:22:41Speaker 1: in your dreams, ain't gonna happen. This team sucks. Season's
- 2:22:50Speaker 1: over alright. So the likes goal tonight it was a
- 2:22:55Speaker 1: very modest four hundred and seventy five likes. And where
- 2:23:01Speaker 1: we are right now, at this moment, we are at
- 2:23:05Speaker 1: seven hundred eighty two. I would say we passed that goal.
- 2:23:12Speaker 1: So we will be doing be the booker here in
- 2:23:14Speaker 1: a little bit. Let me just catch up on these
- 2:23:19Speaker 1: mgmballin solo with a water bottle in his pants. Employee
- 2:23:22Speaker 1: would be like, is that a water bottle in your pants?
- 2:23:25Speaker 1: Or are you excited for the movie? And my response
- 2:23:29Speaker 1: would be, I'm actually very excited for the movie, and
- 2:23:33Speaker 1: that would be the end of the conversation. And Mike says,
- 2:23:38Speaker 1: imagine a Texas death match between Moxley now and Prime Foley.
- 2:23:43Speaker 1: The blood would flow. You don't have to worry about
- 2:23:49Speaker 1: Prime Foley. I have a feeling we may be getting
- 2:23:52Speaker 1: it in aw very soon. All right, let's queue it
- 2:23:58Speaker 1: up here at three o'clock in the morning on the dot.
- 2:24:02Speaker 1: It's time to be the booker. Ladies and gentlemen, it
- 2:24:06Speaker 1: is now time to be the booker. Has to be
- 2:24:13Speaker 1: one of the latest. Be the bookers we've ever done,
- 2:24:17Speaker 1: outside of maybe the WrestleMania streams. Oakhm with a one
- 2:24:24Speaker 1: ninety nine, says Tecla against Becky is a dream match
- 2:24:28Speaker 1: of mine. That'd be a very good match. We're never
- 2:24:32Speaker 1: gonna see it, but that would be a very good match.
- 2:24:38Speaker 1: Here we go, Bad Street, USA. It's time for the
- 2:24:43Speaker 1: Bad Street We gotta listen to the Bad Street theme.
- 2:24:48Speaker 1: We got Michael ps Hayes, we got Terry Bam Bam,
- 2:24:53Speaker 1: Gordie as clean Sweet, don't warhawk Rambow, don't jinx it.
- 2:24:59Speaker 1: See now that you said clean sweep, you can't jinx it.
- 2:25:05Speaker 1: But we got the fabulous Freebirds here and they will
- 2:25:12Speaker 1: be stepping into the ring. We don't know what combination
- 2:25:15Speaker 1: it will be, but it will be the Fabulous Freebirds
- 2:25:20Speaker 1: taking on Mark and j Brisco. There's some old school
- 2:25:26Speaker 1: of wrestling going on here. Now there's some tag team
- 2:25:31Speaker 1: wrestling that Triple H and WWE is allergic to these days.
- 2:25:38Speaker 1: That's some wrestling for you. Tag team wrestling at its finest.
- 2:25:43Speaker 1: Speaking of fine, we got the former AW Women's World Champion,
- 2:25:48Speaker 1: Chris Statlander, who was unsuccessful tonight in her bid to
- 2:25:51Speaker 1: recapture that championship. Maybe she can recapture it here and
- 2:25:57Speaker 1: be the booker she will be taking on Ivy Nile.
- 2:26:10Speaker 1: Did you see Ivy Nile on Raw? The last time?
- 2:26:13Speaker 1: It was weeks and weeks ago. But the last time
- 2:26:15Speaker 1: she was on Rush she was she was five times
- 2:26:19Speaker 1: more ripped than she is in this image here. She
- 2:26:23Speaker 1: had to be training for some sort of bodybuilding competition.
- 2:26:27Speaker 1: She was fucking ripped and probably had the best match
- 2:26:32Speaker 1: that I've seen her in in maybe ever on TV.
- 2:26:36Speaker 1: And then she disappeared. And now we have our main event,
- 2:26:45Speaker 1: says Land on Sting against the Undertaker. Well, I don't
- 2:26:51Speaker 1: think we're gonna get that, but let's see what we
- 2:26:53Speaker 1: end up with here. Oh boy, well you're not getting
- 2:26:58Speaker 1: Sting in the Undertaker, but you are going to get
- 2:27:01Speaker 1: Rye back. I hope you're hungry. Feed me more, feed
- 2:27:09Speaker 1: me s'mores. It's Rye back. Rye back in the main event.
- 2:27:14Speaker 1: Right back has not been in the main event since
- 2:27:16Speaker 1: twenty thirteen. Hmmm, Rye back against Switchblade Jay White? What
- 2:27:28Speaker 1: are we thinking about this match? This is the difference
- 2:27:31Speaker 1: between a clean sweep and no sweep. So think long
- 2:27:36Speaker 1: and hard about this. Can Jay White make something of
- 2:27:41Speaker 1: this main event? What do you think? Hmm? I'll tell
- 2:27:46Speaker 1: you what though. I worry for Jay White. Jay White
- 2:27:49Speaker 1: is coming back from an injury. I don't want him
- 2:27:51Speaker 1: to be injured again. I fear for Jay White. It's
- 2:28:00Speaker 1: a poor guy. It's been gone. How long has he
- 2:28:02Speaker 1: been gone for already? My god, he's been gone for
- 2:28:05Speaker 1: like a year. No clean, sweet. I blame Warhawk Rambo.
- 2:28:10Speaker 1: I think he jinxed it. I we got to put
- 2:28:13Speaker 1: the blame on somebody. Well, you gotta put the blame
- 2:28:15Speaker 1: on him. I'm sorry. Brother. Jay White comes back his
- 2:28:20Speaker 1: first match back, he gets tossed out of the ring,
- 2:28:24Speaker 1: just breaks his leg out for another eight months. Poor
- 2:28:28Speaker 1: guy can catch a break anyway. No j White tonight.
- 2:28:33Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll see him back in the not too distant future.
- 2:28:35Speaker 1: Michael Jensen fifty six months says damn pay per view
- 2:28:39Speaker 1: of the year. No doubt AW was on a roll
- 2:28:42Speaker 1: right now. Look if AW can put on pay per
- 2:28:46Speaker 1: views like this every month, I'll be happy. I just
- 2:28:50Speaker 1: wish they weren't starting at eight o'clock. You know you're
- 2:28:54Speaker 1: gonna go fucking five hours with the pre show. Just
- 2:28:58Speaker 1: start at seven, main card at seven. I don't know
- 2:29:04Speaker 1: why they don't do that anyway. The next time I'm
- 2:29:07Speaker 1: gonna be with you live is going to be in
- 2:29:10Speaker 1: less than twenty four hours because we are going to
- 2:29:12Speaker 1: be talking about Monday Night Raw, the final raw before
- 2:29:16Speaker 1: Clash in Italy, so I will be live for that again.
- 2:29:20Speaker 1: Episode nine sixty four nine sixty four of the SoundOff
- 2:29:23Speaker 1: went up earlier today, so if you missed it, go
- 2:29:25Speaker 1: check out the latest podcast. Tuesday, you're going to get
- 2:29:28Speaker 1: a brand new Uncrowned wrestling show, brand new Tuesday Night
- 2:29:30Speaker 1: Titans over on JD's channel. The Dynamite post show coming
- 2:29:34Speaker 1: out of Double or Nothing will be on Wednesday, and
- 2:29:37Speaker 1: then SmackDown is in Barcelona on Friday, and I am
- 2:29:43Speaker 1: certain that I will be going live a little bit
- 2:29:45Speaker 1: earlier than usual because I should be able to watch
- 2:29:49Speaker 1: the show. I think it's two o'clock Eastern on Netflix,
- 2:29:54Speaker 1: so we may be going live on YouTube at like
- 2:29:57Speaker 1: eight eight thirty somewhere around there on Friday night. Definitely
- 2:30:01Speaker 1: not going to go live at eleven thirty if I
- 2:30:03Speaker 1: could watch the show earlier in the day. So just
- 2:30:05Speaker 1: be aware. These next two weeks of SmackDown are both
- 2:30:08Speaker 1: international shows. They are in Barcelona on Friday, and the
- 2:30:11Speaker 1: following Friday they are in Italy, so just be aware
- 2:30:14Speaker 1: of that. And then next weekend if you didn't if
- 2:30:16Speaker 1: you didn't listen to the latest podcast yet, next weekend
- 2:30:20Speaker 1: is kind of fucked up because they're doing Clash in
- 2:30:23Speaker 1: Italy on Sunday at two o'clock in the afternoon, so
- 2:30:28Speaker 1: I will probably be dropping the sound off on Saturday,
- 2:30:32Speaker 1: maybe by Saturday night, so the show may be going
- 2:30:35Speaker 1: up a day early. And then I know Triple A
- 2:30:38Speaker 1: has that big Mask versus Mask match on Saturday night,
- 2:30:41Speaker 1: so I may not be able to cover that, but
- 2:30:42Speaker 1: if a worst case scenario, I may talk about that
- 2:30:45Speaker 1: on the on Crowned show next week. We'll see a
- 2:30:48Speaker 1: lot of wrestling coming up. I appreciate all of you
- 2:30:51Speaker 1: guys sticking with me for it. Be well, stay safe,
- 2:30:54Speaker 1: have yourselves a great rest of your morning and a
- 2:30:59Speaker 1: hopeful relaxing Memorial Day, and i'll see you back here
- 2:31:03Speaker 1: in less than twenty four hours for the Monday Night
- 2:31:06Speaker 1: Raw recap. Until then, take care, guys,
