- Chris Laker: This is gonna be a big week. Big things happening this week. I don't know that for a fact. I'm saying it. Then if it does happen, it's like I had a premonition. I don't say that every week. So it's not like, he says it every I chose to say it this week because I feel like something big is gonna happen. I've felt that before, not said it, then nothing happened. I'm glad I didn't say anything. Other times said it, nothing happened. Nothing big has happened when I've said it or thought it. This time I think it's different. This time I just have a feeling something big is gonna happen. Good big. I wouldn't say it if it was well, I would say, hey everybody, watch out. I don't get premonitions about bad things. on nine eleven. I had no idea that was gonna happen. I would have got on a plane, no problem. Not like Seth McFarlane. Well, he didn't have a feeling. he just didn't get up or he missed his flight. If I was Seth McFarlane, I would have said I had a feeling and I didn't get on the flight. I said, I was on my way to the airport and I said I can't go. then started a psychic business on the side Sure, it makes a lot of money from Family Guy, because that's been on for fifty years. How long's Family Guy been on? A long time. It was on, then they canceled it, then they brought it back, and now they're legally obligated to have it on. And American Dad is American Dad still on? I don't know. The Simpsons are still on. They still make the Simpsons and somebody is watching it. Kids? Who's watching The Simpsons? I love The Simpsons. I did. There was a long period. many years. Loved the Simpsons. I can't imagine watching a new episode of The Simpsons. I used to think I would want to watch old episodes of The Simpsons. Turns out no. I remember a friend of mine, beginning of the internet, he's like, one day you're gonna be able to watch any show whenever you want. I'm like, that's crazy. You think that's true? you see that's how bad I am at premonitions. I didn't even see that. And my friend just knew that, or he read it somewhere. And I said, You mean there's gonna be a day I could turn on my TV and watch any episode of The Simpsons I want? He's like, Yeah. I was like, That's crazy. That would be the best thing in the world. that is possible right now. And yeah, I'm not watching The Simpsons. I'm not even really watching anything. I'm kinda I'm I'm kinda getting over television. I might be going through another no T V period. I haven't gone through a no TV period since the two thousands. When everybody was watching Mad Men, I'm not gonna go through no T V period. T V's the best thing in the world. I love T V. And the Simpsons were great. I'm nothing against the Simpsons. I went to a party at a guy's apartment who was a writer on the Simpsons and it was a very nice apartment. It's one of these parties you go to 'cause your friend's like, Hey, come to this party. It's gonna be cool, you know, just come. I'm like, but I don't know the dude. It says how I just come and then as soon as I get there, I'm like, I shouldn't have come to this party. Then I'm thinking, do I act like I still like the Simpsons to this dude? If I'm talking to him, I didn't really talk to him. But I knew nobody at the party except the one dude I went with, and he knows everybody. So I was just like, you know what? Actually, I forgot I don't wanna be at this party. I'm gonna go grab an Uber. Leaving a party, that feels good. Rounding a corner away from a party on foot in a car the night is mine again. whatever I want to do, I think I'm gonna watch TV, which is probably what I went and did. I'm just not into shows right now Movies. I like to watch a movie. Backrooms is on HBO now. I have to watch Backrooms. Because can you believe they made a movie for less money than they usually make movies? Just like that other movie that they did that with. it's pretty crazy how some movies cost a lot of money and then other movies they don't cost any money. I watch a movie that didn't cost a lot of money, I think they could have spent a few more bucks here. Were the actors comfortable? I sense they weren't comfortable. What was the food situation? Are they just ordering pizza for lunch every day? You need a healthy meal. It can't just be carbs and cheese. that's gonna make you tired. I'm not saying that was the catering situation on Backrooms. I haven't watched Backrooms yet. I watched Obsession, low budget movie. Everybody seemed like they had a healthy meal Maddie's Secret, you wouldn't know it from watching it. Lower budget film. Great movie. that's available for purchase or rent. You can kind of see my shadow in it if you try really hard during part of it. Uncredited. I like to be uncredited. it's not about the credit for me. It's about the work. I put a lot of work into that character that you don't really see. Well, I've said a lot of nothing. let's get to the news. California farmers are struggling to sell grapes as demand for wine drops. I never got the whole big deal about wine to begin with. I mean I was an alcoholic, so I never drank wine. I drank liquor, beer. I drank wine sometimes, but out of a box, out of a jug, And that was fine I guess. I was usually drunk by the time I got to wine. I never started off on it that I can remember. I never understood people spending lots of money on wine you keep it to have it for the special occasion. That puts a lot of pressure on that wine. Now this is a special occasion This was very expensive. If it doesn't taste good, now everything's fucked. I guess you make it taste good in your head. you can do that. You this is amazing, even it's like does this really taste better than the thing that costs ten bucks? Maybe expensive wine gets you drunk in a better way than cheap wine. But the grape farmers are struggling. So if you like wine, buy some more wine. Buy some California wine. Don't buy that French shit. they're doing great. The French people are gonna drink wine forever that's the Gatorade to them. They need to make a sequel to Sideways. That movie got so many people into wine You make it a Netflix series. Sideways the Netflix series. Now put it on Apple TV. Feels like nobody's watching Apple TV, but then Widows Bay comes around. Everybody's talking about Widows Bay. So I'd say make the sideways show, put it on Apple TV. It'll be a big hit. And then people are buying wine again. District Attorney reopens case of alleged Cornell University gang rape. They're reopening 'cause of the publicity from a lawsuit and it's gaining attention. At the time they didn't want anything to do with it. And the school didn't even do anything about it. they banned the fraternity, but then dudes involved here, they graduated from college. I think they had some sort of punishment, but nothing really, no sort of charges filed against them. now there's media attention. I guess we should reopen this case. They didn't want to do anything about it when it happened because what else is in that town except Cornell? you're basically working for Cornell if you're the cops of that town. In my opinion. And the campus police, yeah, they're never gonna do shit about anything. They're not real police. I guess they sort of are. I think they can shoot you maybe. it's good they're reopening it and I hate fraternities except for the one at Penn State that dealt a lot of cocaine. That one might not even be a good fraternity. but I appreciate their entrepreneurship. Man accused of holding woman captive in Massachusetts attic for six weeks. You gotta stay off dating apps. That's where it's happened. Dude found her on a dating app and then held her captive for six weeks. The only reason she got found is because he rents and the landlord came over. That's a good reason why you need a real landlord and not some private equity company that hires some management people who don't give a shit. These people own the property, they come over to investigate a water leak, you don't need to go up to the attic. Yeah, maybe I need to go up to the attic. Then they called nine one one. Watch out for the dating apps. doesn't really matter if it's a dating app. You can meet a psycho in real life. meeting people. It's the worst. Base jumper fatally plunges seven hundred feet after wing suit failure in Utah. Maybe that's the biggest adrenaline rush you'll ever get is having your wingsuit malfunction and then realizing, this is it, I'm gonna die. Whoa, this is amazing. being about to die is amazing. then you find out what's on the other side, which is probably also pretty intense. Australian court rejects bid to prosecute Britain's King Charles for genocide. Cowards why won't you prosecute your king? He's the king of Australia too, King Charles. prosecute him. And maybe stop doing the genocide on the indigenous people of Australia. Not that I'm coming from a place of moral authority. I live in the United States. That's been well documented. they're saying the policies instituted by the government, King Charles is the head of their government, he doesn't do anything. there's probably somebody else you could go after King Charles is not showing up to court in Australia. Nothing's gonna happen to him. Florida asks court to stop OpenAI from releasing new models. if Florida's going after open AI, maybe there's actually some consensus on something. We can all come together to hate the robots. They're probably still building a bunch of data centers though. Two FBI agents ousted after investigation into allegedly harassing calls to wife of Trump advisor Steven Miller. They wanted counterterrorism to investigate some calls, harassing calls, not doesn't say threatening calls, to Stephen Miller's wife, Katie Miller, who's also a public figure because she has a podcast. Of course she does. somehow that ghoul was able to find a woman who was also filled with hate and just grossness. And They are happily married. She got some harassing phone calls and they these FBIs we're not. It's fine. You know like everybody kinda hates you, like most people think you're an awful person and you're both are publicly professionally bad people. And then they got fired for that. They should have known. They should have known they get fired for that.
