- 0:01Speaker 1: All right. Quick thoughts.
- 0:05Speaker 2: After Florida State drops a game to Miami in Hard
- 0:10Speaker 2: Rock Stadium, game goes to double overtime. I'm not going
- 0:13Speaker 2: to look at the camera because I'm looking at the road.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Y'all forgive me for that. All of our videos presented
- 0:19Speaker 2: by PrizePix. All new users play $ 5, get $ 150 in
- 0:21Speaker 2: lineups instantly if you use code HMA.
- 0:24Speaker 1: No overlay. Completely raw.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Obviously haven't had a chance to rewatch anything. I met
- 0:31Speaker 2: a lot of y'all at the game tonight.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That was fun. Um, getting to run into people.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I felt like, uh, I saw my buddy Sammy afterwards, Sammy, uh,
- 0:41Speaker 2: Sammy Miami, uh, with the Mario hat on shout out
- 0:44Speaker 2: to him.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Um, it was, uh, it was a good time, man.
- 0:49Speaker 2: In, in hard rock tonight, obviously Florida state comes up
- 0:51Speaker 2: a little bit short. Um, not able to get enough done,
- 0:56Speaker 2: but such as life, man. Um, when you're a 21-point
- 1:03Speaker 2: underdog playing on the road in a game that nobody
- 1:08Speaker 2: expects you to have success in, you got to make
- 1:10Speaker 2: big plays late in the game. You had a chance, man.
- 1:14Speaker 2: You had a chance big time and just couldn't get
- 1:17Speaker 2: it done. Defense comes back to bite you. Shout out
- 1:20Speaker 2: the offense in this game. I'll start with the Florida
- 1:22Speaker 2: State side first just because I feel like that's what
- 1:25Speaker 2: Kind of sticks out the most. Offense, I didn't think
- 1:29Speaker 2: Miami played terribly, but they certainly didn't play great. Florida
- 1:33Speaker 2: State did a great job of getting home quite often
- 1:38Speaker 2: on Mensah, and he did some pretty spectacular things. The
- 1:41Speaker 2: long pass to, you know, after getting out of a sack,
- 1:47Speaker 2: huge play. You know, you've got to convert there. If
- 1:51Speaker 2: you're Florida State, you've got to make that stop. Um,
- 1:57Speaker 2: Malachi Tony is consistently a top two, three player in
- 2:02Speaker 2: this country. You know, I put him right up there
- 2:04Speaker 2: with Jeremiah Smith and Colin Simmons and, and think that
- 2:07Speaker 2: he's pretty special. So, um, he's incredibly impressive. Um, Miami
- 2:13Speaker 2: found some success in the run game in the second half.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And really they, once they stopped hurting themselves, they were
- 2:21Speaker 2: not going to be stopped. And, um, You know, I
- 2:24Speaker 2: thought in the first overtime, Florida State's chance was, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I was hoping that Florida State would get the ball
- 2:31Speaker 2: second in overtime.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I thought that would be their best chance to win
- 2:38Speaker 1: this game.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I didn't because I thought that maybe they could go
- 2:42Speaker 2: for two. If Miami scored first, Florida State could get
- 2:45Speaker 2: the ball, go for two. I think Norvell would have there.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I have no clue. But the way he loves fourth
- 2:50Speaker 2: down conversions or loves trying them, I feel like that
- 2:54Speaker 2: would have been a prime spot. But Miami getting the
- 2:57Speaker 2: ball second, you just knew, you knew it was going
- 2:59Speaker 2: to be tough. Field goal decisions at the very beginning
- 3:05Speaker 2: of the game. I didn't even really think either call
- 3:08Speaker 2: was like the wrong call necessarily, but you just look
- 3:11Speaker 2: back and that cost.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You the game, man.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You convert on those fourth downs early or you kick
- 3:18Speaker 2: some field goals. You may not go to overtime and
- 3:20Speaker 2: you really had Miami in quite a spot, and just
- 3:26Speaker 2: your defense lets you down. You know, overtime, so there's
- 3:30Speaker 2: an extra 15 points put on there, but in the
- 3:33Speaker 2: fourth quarter, Miami kind of did whatever they wanted.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Obviously, the pick of Mensah was huge. It was his
- 3:37Speaker 1: worst game of the year.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I don't know statistically if it was his worst game
- 3:40Speaker 2: of the year or not, but it was certainly the
- 3:42Speaker 2: game he looked the least comfortable in. I know that
- 3:45Speaker 2: week four game, he wasn't spectacular by any means. But
- 3:49Speaker 2: they had a huge lead and they kind of let
- 3:50Speaker 2: their foot off the gas there and everybody was banged up.
- 3:53Speaker 2: There were times I thought Tony shouldn't have been in
- 3:54Speaker 2: one-on-one coverage from the Florida State perspective. There were times
- 4:00Speaker 2: that I thought, you know, Miami secondary is a huge
- 4:05Speaker 2: issue to me right now. That is something that absolutely
- 4:08Speaker 2: has to get cleaned up. It's something that they absolutely
- 4:11Speaker 2: have to get figured out quickly. There's really not an
- 4:15Speaker 2: excuse for for Ashton Daniels doing what he did to
- 4:20Speaker 2: Miami's secondary tonight. And I know Deuce is big. I
- 4:23Speaker 2: know they got some guys that make plays overall at
- 4:28Speaker 2: Florida State. And I'm glad they did because it made
- 4:31Speaker 2: this game a little more entertaining than I think a
- 4:33Speaker 2: lot of us thought it would be. The fight from
- 4:35Speaker 2: Florida State was really impressive. Again, I'm not a big
- 4:37Speaker 2: moral victory guy. You lost the game. You couldn't get
- 4:40Speaker 2: a stop in the fourth quarter or in overtime. You
- 4:43Speaker 2: did get the stop to force overtime. So credit there
- 4:46Speaker 2: for sure. I thought Miami was very comfortable going to overtime.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I thought Florida State played that last drive well of
- 4:53Speaker 2: the fourth quarter, but I also thought Miami was really,
- 4:55Speaker 2: really confident that if they got to overtime, they were
- 4:58Speaker 2: going to be able to scheme it up and score.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And they absolutely did.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Some trick plays with Tony, getting him isolated one-on-one is
- 5:05Speaker 2: always a big win for Miami.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Some of the plays he made tonight were just ridiculous.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That catch in the first quarter where three guys are
- 5:12Speaker 2: around him and you think it's a a Hail Mary
- 5:14Speaker 2: type throw where might get picked off. He goes up
- 5:17Speaker 2: and snags it incredibly impressive. Um, the juke he made
- 5:21Speaker 2: just right in front of me on the FSU sideline
- 5:25Speaker 2: to get between two defenders. And I, it wasn't, it
- 5:27Speaker 2: didn't go for a crazy amount of yards, but he
- 5:29Speaker 2: is incredibly special. And, uh, you found something running the ball.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Fletcher wasn't, wasn't, I don't know what the final stats
- 5:35Speaker 2: were on Fletcher. I can try and pull it up
- 5:37Speaker 2: without dying here, but, uh, I didn't think Fletcher was
- 5:42Speaker 2: insanely impressive tonight. I thought Florida State did a pretty
- 5:44Speaker 2: good job of bottling that up, but then Mallory came
- 5:46Speaker 2: in and you had other guys.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Kind of go off at times.
- 5:50Speaker 2: So not good enough defensively for Florida State. That's what
- 5:53Speaker 2: it kind of came down to to me late in
- 5:55Speaker 2: the game. Offense gave you a shot. The way they responded,
- 5:59Speaker 2: and I know that Florida State fans will cringe hearing that,
- 6:01Speaker 2: but the way they responded was pretty impressive. With three
- 6:05Speaker 2: minutes to go, Miami takes the lead. That stadium's going crazy.
- 6:09Speaker 2: You think Florida State's out of it. They're done and
- 6:11Speaker 2: to respond in one play to Deuce Robinson and then
- 6:14Speaker 2: get it to overtime, insanely impressive for Florida State. Ultimately,
- 6:18Speaker 2: your defense just isn't good enough. You had a lot
- 6:20Speaker 2: of guys that seemed to get banged up. Miami had
- 6:22Speaker 2: guys get banged up. You had guys in Miami's secondary
- 6:24Speaker 2: go out. The targeting penalty was absolutely atrociously stupid by Miami.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It should never happen, and it took Daniels out of
- 6:35Speaker 2: the game for a little while, but fortunately, he was
- 6:37Speaker 2: able to return. Yeah, I didn't like the way Miami's
- 6:41Speaker 2: defense played for most of this game. They did a
- 6:43Speaker 2: good job getting home on Daniels a couple of times,
- 6:46Speaker 2: but just wasn't good enough if we're keeping it a buck. Like,
- 6:49Speaker 2: I know Notre Dame lost tonight. Shout out to my Cougs,
- 6:54Speaker 2: my side team there. But, yeah, I know that Notre
- 6:57Speaker 2: Dame lost, but I tell you that defensive effort ain't
- 7:00Speaker 2: going to work. It worked tonight, right, against Florida State.
- 7:04Speaker 2: That defensive effort ain't going to work later in the year, right?
- 7:07Speaker 1: And it may work all regular season. You may lose
- 7:09Speaker 1: to Notre Dame, and who cares?
- 7:11Speaker 2: But that ain't going to work in the postseason. That
- 7:13Speaker 2: may not work in the ACC championship. I don't know
- 7:16Speaker 2: who can go out and beat Miami. I don't think
- 7:19Speaker 2: anybody in this conference can, but they got to clean
- 7:22Speaker 2: that up immediately. You lose to Notre Dame and then
- 7:24Speaker 2: you drop the ACC championship because your defense can't get stops.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It's going to be a problem. You're going to play
- 7:28Speaker 2: a lot better quarterbacks. I don't know if you'll play
- 7:30Speaker 2: any teams. I know it was a rivalry, all that stuff,
- 7:32Speaker 2: but defense has to get cleaned up for Miami for sure.
- 7:36Speaker 1: That was an unacceptable performance.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I'll tell you this, Miami fans, you can correct me
- 7:40Speaker 2: if I'm wrong, I thought Florida State wanted it more
- 7:43Speaker 2: for about three quarters of this game. Maybe all four,
- 7:46Speaker 2: you know? Like, they were the ones that went out
- 7:49Speaker 2: and took the game to Miami, in my opinion. And
- 7:53Speaker 2: I can't tell you the countless Miami fans that came
- 7:55Speaker 2: up to me after the game, during the game, at halftime,
- 7:58Speaker 2: everywhere else, just saying, yeah, you guys want it more.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You're more physical along the lines of scrimmage.
- 8:04Speaker 2: There is such a talent gap between Florida State's offensive line,
- 8:08Speaker 2: Miami's defensive line, and then the other way too. Miami's,
- 8:13Speaker 2: I can't remember what I just said, but the other
- 8:15Speaker 2: side too, that there should have not been a situation
- 8:19Speaker 2: where Florida State was winning at the line.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Of the scrimmage. And they didn't for the whole game.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Miami got some runs off too, but that was really
- 8:27Speaker 1: unacceptable too.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Miami's lines of scrimmage were not good enough. I know
- 8:31Speaker 2: they got guys banged up. I know that they're, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: right guard out. I know they're shuffling some guys around.
- 8:36Speaker 2: But still, I've watched every snap of Florida State football multiple.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Times this year. There is no excuse for Miami's trenches
- 8:45Speaker 1: to not have dominated tonight, both sides. Now, they got
- 8:49Speaker 1: after Daniels.
- 8:49Speaker 2: He did a good job at times, you know, kind
- 8:52Speaker 2: of getting away from some pressure or only letting sacks
- 8:54Speaker 2: be four or five yards, which is impressive. The defensive
- 8:57Speaker 2: line showed up, you know, certainly on the last drive.
- 9:00Speaker 2: But it certainly has to be better if Miami wants
- 9:03Speaker 2: to get the things done.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I think you can.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Certainly chalk up some of the emotions, some of the
- 9:07Speaker 2: way that Florida state played to the rivalry. And I've
- 9:10Speaker 2: got no problem kind of admitting that and saying that
- 9:13Speaker 2: that was part of it, but I don't care if
- 9:15Speaker 2: it's a rivalry or not, your trenches need to be better.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And Miami's trenches at times tonight were really good and
- 9:21Speaker 2: certainly did some things well when they sprang a couple
- 9:24Speaker 2: of long runs and they, but you know, Mensah had
- 9:27Speaker 2: to play a little bit of hero ball and he's
- 9:29Speaker 2: certainly good enough to do that. But you think about
- 9:32Speaker 2: the broken sacks, the, the way that he was able
- 9:35Speaker 2: to kind of make some magic downfield helps to have
- 9:38Speaker 2: Tony and those guys catching the ball.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But I don't think that's going to work against a
- 9:42Speaker 1: better team.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So, you know, it worked tonight, but needs to certainly improve.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I obviously follow a lot of people that are both
- 9:52Speaker 2: Florida State fans, and I follow a lot of national
- 9:54Speaker 2: people too. I'm not going to blame a holding call
- 9:58Speaker 2: that I have not seen a replay of yet, but
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm hearing that holding call was kind of trash.
- 10:02Speaker 1: At the end of the game.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Would have been cool to see what Florida State would
- 10:05Speaker 2: have tried with a two-point conversion. Mike probably would have
- 10:08Speaker 2: done something very stupid like he did on the two-fourths
- 10:10Speaker 2: downs that we couldn't convert.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But, you know, such is life, right? They did call
- 10:17Speaker 1: a holding, and that's what it was.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I didn't think the officials were terrible in this game,
- 10:21Speaker 2: but I do think that that, you know, in just
- 10:24Speaker 2: seeing national people, usually if I see a bunch of
- 10:26Speaker 2: Florida State fans say that a holding call was trash,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I'm willing to overlook it. I saw a lot of
- 10:32Speaker 2: national people saying that that holding call was trash. I
- 10:34Speaker 2: saw a lot of people saying that that last catch, which,
- 10:37Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. Again, I don't know what
- 10:39Speaker 2: Miami secondary is doing, but that interception, I haven't seen
- 10:43Speaker 2: a replay. So forgive me if I'm being a blatant homer.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I don't think I'm a homer too much on here.
- 10:49Speaker 2: but I've seen a lot of people saying that that, uh, interception, uh,
- 10:52Speaker 2: very likely should have been, uh, a touchdown to, uh,
- 10:56Speaker 2: at worst simultaneous possession, the screenshots, the, the repo, I
- 11:00Speaker 2: did see the replay of that kind of showed deuce
- 11:02Speaker 2: with the ball on the ground. And then it, it
- 11:04Speaker 2: certainly got wrestled away once it was on the ground,
- 11:06Speaker 2: but once he was on the ground, his possession was stopped.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Um, uh, it, it looked like it was his, but
- 11:12Speaker 1: it shouldn't come down to that, right? Like that's, that,
- 11:14Speaker 1: that would be my major takeaway from Florida state. I'm
- 11:16Speaker 1: not going to sit here and blame the refs.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Um, I kind of blamed the head coach for the
- 11:23Speaker 2: field goals that they didn't go for early. They could
- 11:25Speaker 2: have avoided overtime in general, and then I certainly would
- 11:29Speaker 2: throw a lot of blame on the defense.
- 11:31Speaker 1: When you had to have stops, you had a lead
- 11:33Speaker 1: in overtime.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You had a lead in overtime on the road against
- 11:36Speaker 2: your biggest conference rival, and they gutted you for a
- 11:41Speaker 2: 25-yard run to tie it up. You were probably fortunate
- 11:44Speaker 2: that they didn't just pull out the Tony play there
- 11:46Speaker 2: and beat you by one, but Mario made the right
- 11:48Speaker 2: call in just taking the extra point because Miami was
- 11:53Speaker 2: always going to be a little more efficient. You needed
- 11:56Speaker 2: something kind of spectacular, I think, in Florida State's situation
- 12:01Speaker 2: from that defense and overtime to have a real chance
- 12:04Speaker 2: to win. A tipped ball pick, hold them to a
- 12:09Speaker 2: field goal, just something to go your way. And the
- 12:13Speaker 2: defense wasn't good enough late. Again, even the stop in
- 12:15Speaker 2: the fourth quarter, I thought Miami was a little bit
- 12:18Speaker 2: conservative there.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Just knowing they could get into overtime.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Mensah and Tony are every bit as good as people
- 12:24Speaker 2: would think. Obviously, the pick was really, really bad and
- 12:29Speaker 2: just a stupid play by him, one that I'm sure
- 12:31Speaker 2: he'd like to have back.
- 12:33Speaker 1: But if there wasn't pressure on him, I certainly think
- 12:36Speaker 1: that he would have been a lot better.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I thought the scheme was okay for Florida State's defense.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Certainly did a really good job for, what, three quarters?
- 12:47Speaker 2: But then when he got to the second half, or
- 12:49Speaker 2: I'm sorry, when he got to the fourth quarter, and
- 12:51Speaker 2: then obviously in overtime when the field is so compressed,
- 12:53Speaker 2: you just don't have the athletes. Miami was able to
- 12:56Speaker 2: kind of say, hey, hat on a hat. We'll see
- 12:58Speaker 2: what happens. We like our guys more than you like yours.
- 13:01Speaker 2: And such is life, right? You played a good game.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You played with good intensity, good effort. I'm not big
- 13:08Speaker 2: on silver linings. Both teams have a lot of things
- 13:10Speaker 2: they can clean up. Florida State finishes, executes a little
- 13:13Speaker 2: bit better, coaches just a tad bit better.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They win this game. And it doesn't go to overtime
- 13:18Speaker 1: by the same token. If Miami doesn't throw the pick,
- 13:20Speaker 1: if Miami doesn't give up a 75 yarder, like pass
- 13:24Speaker 1: to deuce their late, then they win without it going
- 13:27Speaker 1: to overtime.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So it certainly could have gone either way. Big picture,
- 13:30Speaker 2: you know, Florida state now falls to three and four.
- 13:33Speaker 2: The question is going to be, Hey, did Mike do
- 13:35Speaker 2: enough in this job in this game to, to save
- 13:37Speaker 2: his job?
- 13:38Speaker 1: I would hope.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And I know people will joke in the comments, but
- 13:40Speaker 2: just all trolls aside, certainly he's not going to get
- 13:43Speaker 2: fired tomorrow. Um, based on the way that Florida State
- 13:47Speaker 2: just played, I would think, you know, he still probably
- 13:50Speaker 2: deserves to get fired based on the seven years of
- 13:52Speaker 2: results that we have, or six and a half.
- 13:55Speaker 1: But, you know, you're three and four.
- 13:59Speaker 2: If you played this way against Miami, there's not a
- 14:02Speaker 2: game left on this schedule that's not winnable, right? And
- 14:06Speaker 2: if you were to get to eight and four, you
- 14:08Speaker 2: certainly should save your job in that situation. You shouldn't
- 14:11Speaker 2: be fired for going eight and four. So, I am
- 14:14Speaker 2: interested to see how they respond. I know that's Norvell's
- 14:18Speaker 2: favorite word, so I'm not trying to use that to
- 14:21Speaker 2: trigger the FSU fans. But if you played like this
- 14:24Speaker 2: the rest of the year, if you'd have played like
- 14:25Speaker 2: this against Louisville with just a little bit more, you know,
- 14:30Speaker 2: if you'd have given a little bit more, I know
- 14:33Speaker 2: they went on a 44-6 run, so I'm not trying
- 14:35Speaker 2: to be crazy with this, but you'd have won.
- 14:37Speaker 1: For Miami, a lot to clean up before that Notre
- 14:40Speaker 1: Dame game in, what, three weeks? Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It's got to be better. Florida State has talent. It
- 14:47Speaker 2: was a rivalry, yes, but they just absolutely have to
- 14:50Speaker 2: be better. It was not good enough for Miami tonight.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It was good enough to win the game. I didn't
- 14:55Speaker 2: walk out of that stadium thinking, oh, yeah, this is
- 14:58Speaker 2: a surefire team that's going to go win a national championship.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Here's what I'll tell you. Everybody else in the country
- 15:03Speaker 1: lost tonight too. Georgia loses. Bama loses. Notre Dame loses.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Texas loses to an up-and-down Florida team.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So, you know, you're not different there. Right.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Like everybody else lost, too. So you at least survived
- 15:19Speaker 2: with the win. But I think if you're honest with yourself,
- 15:22Speaker 2: I heard Mario's postgame comments. I'll try and listen to
- 15:25Speaker 2: him once I start to upload this. If you're honest
- 15:28Speaker 2: with yourself, you know, it wasn't good enough.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Good enough for the win, but not not good enough
- 15:33Speaker 2: for where Miami ultimately wants to get to. Florida State's
- 15:36Speaker 2: got some tough answers to try and figure out during
- 15:38Speaker 2: the bye week. You play Clemson in two weeks. You
- 15:41Speaker 2: play with this kind of effort. You can absolutely beat
- 15:43Speaker 2: the Tigers. There's no doubt about it. Will they? They
- 15:46Speaker 2: play really up, then they play really down. Then they
- 15:48Speaker 2: play really up, then they play really down. So we'll
- 15:50Speaker 2: see if a week off can help. Miami out of
- 15:53Speaker 2: bye weeks, certainly something that people will mention. it is
- 15:59Speaker 2: a consistent thing.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And I don't.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Know what goes on during the buy week at Miami,
- 16:03Speaker 2: but it has been pretty consistent. What I'll say though,
- 16:06Speaker 2: is I don't, I just don't know that I buy
- 16:08Speaker 2: that as much. Like their effort didn't seem terrible. They just,
- 16:16Speaker 2: they just weren't as sharp. They weren't as crisp. You've
- 16:19Speaker 2: got injuries along the offensive line that hurt you. Florida
- 16:22Speaker 2: state schemed it up. Well, you were getting burned on
- 16:24Speaker 2: some screens and Florida state really took advantage of those things.
- 16:28Speaker 2: So to me, it didn't feel like it was the
- 16:30Speaker 2: bi-weeks fault as much as it was.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You, you got to go out and be better. You know,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I don't, I don't buy into the bi-week thing against
- 16:38Speaker 1: a Louisville team against SMU against teams like that. Sure.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I can buy that a little bit, but this was
- 16:42Speaker 2: Florida state, man. You were a three touchdown favorite. Like,
- 16:47Speaker 2: Do you need extra week? Did you need to play
- 16:49Speaker 2: last week to be good? You know, like this is
- 16:52Speaker 2: Florida State. This is your biggest home game. This is
- 16:55Speaker 2: where you had all the recruits. This is, you know,
- 16:57Speaker 2: this is the one that Mario told you guys that
- 17:00Speaker 2: they came in with a lot of talent. And those
- 17:02Speaker 2: guys certainly show their talent tonight. They obviously aren't just
- 17:06Speaker 2: just aren't good enough to to get the job done fully. Man,
- 17:10Speaker 2: I am sick over Croma. It might have changed the game.
- 17:13Speaker 1: It might not have.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I don't want to act like that was the reason
- 17:16Speaker 2: Florida State lost, but absolutely sick over that kid getting hurt.
- 17:21Speaker 2: He's kind of the heart and soul of the offense,
- 17:23Speaker 2: although Deuce certainly does a good job.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Danzy does a pretty good job. Daniels does a.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Good job at times. I appreciate Daniels' effort. I don't
- 17:32Speaker 2: think he's good enough to play Florida State football.
- 17:35Speaker 1: As a quarterback. And he laid it all on the
- 17:39Speaker 1: line tonight. And he's done that in some big games.
- 17:43Speaker 1: In Tuscaloosa, in Hard Rock. Shout out to that kid.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But Cromwell just makes me absolutely sick. That sucks. I
- 17:50Speaker 1: would hate that if that was Fletcher or Tony or
- 17:52Speaker 1: anybody else. I'd hate it too.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But it sucks from a football perspective because obviously you
- 17:56Speaker 2: know he's a lot of what you want to do.
- 18:00Speaker 2: But it also sucks because you hate to see somebody,
- 18:04Speaker 2: you know, kind of done like that for what I
- 18:06Speaker 2: would assume is the year. I can't imagine based on
- 18:09Speaker 2: the pictures that I saw that that was anything short
- 18:12Speaker 2: of a season ending injury, but maybe I'll be wrong
- 18:15Speaker 2: there and we'll get good news on it. Wisner's fumble
- 18:17Speaker 2: was big, man. You, you really had a chance to continue.
- 18:21Speaker 2: You were across midfield race strip. And then I think
- 18:24Speaker 2: Lucas picked it up. That fumble was huge in the game. Again, just,
- 18:30Speaker 2: When the moment's the biggest, Florida State seems to kind
- 18:32Speaker 2: of shudder away. That's been a theme of Mike Norvell
- 18:35Speaker 2: coached teams for quite a while. Unfortunate the way that
- 18:38Speaker 2: that happened and went down.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Overall, thought they played better. I think they played... No,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I don't think. They played better than anybody expected.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Miami probably played an all-inclusive C-ish type.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Game, you know? But... you know, not, not good enough
- 18:57Speaker 1: for the win again.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I've said it a million times, but probably not good
- 19:00Speaker 2: enough for where you want to get to.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And you can't have that kind of an effort. Um, yeah. When,
- 19:06Speaker 1: when the games really matter, you can get away with losing.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It's a 12 team playoff.
- 19:09Speaker 2: You're not going to lose some kind of tiebreaker because
- 19:11Speaker 2: you lose to Florida state.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Um, and you could, you could drop an ACC game.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You could draw or a Notre Dame type game and
- 19:17Speaker 2: probably be fine if you win the rest of them. But, uh,
- 19:21Speaker 2: when you get to December and January, that's where, uh,
- 19:23Speaker 2: the Canes kind of got to lock in and it
- 19:25Speaker 2: kind of starts today. I'm interested to see if they respond.
- 19:29Speaker 2: This wasn't a loss, but I'm sure it felt at
- 19:32Speaker 2: times like.
- 19:32Speaker 1: It was going to be.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I'm interested to see if you see the same kind
- 19:36Speaker 2: of response out of Miami that you did in the
- 19:37Speaker 2: back half of last year. If they had dropped two
- 19:39Speaker 2: games in three weeks, do they go out and now
- 19:42Speaker 2: just lay waste to everybody?
- 19:44Speaker 1: You figured out a way to survive.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Notre Dame did not figure out a way to survive
- 19:48Speaker 2: and losing to BYU out in Provo.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Obviously, I think BYU is a much better team and
- 19:53Speaker 1: BYU was at home. This game's in Tallahassee. Maybe the
- 19:55Speaker 1: result's a little bit different. So a big picture. I'll
- 19:58Speaker 1: tell you this too. I think that was one of.
- 20:01Speaker 2: The best FSU Miami games I've ever seen.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Like, I know we've had some classics. I know we've
- 20:06Speaker 1: had some go down to the wire. I know, what, 2011,
- 20:10Speaker 1: 2009 maybe is the rain game that Florida State dropped
- 20:14Speaker 1: a touchdown in the end zone. That was a classic.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The Dalvin one down here in 2014, that was a classic.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Even 2023 was close at the end until Van Dyke
- 20:23Speaker 1: got hurt. We've had some good ones, man. We've had
- 20:26Speaker 1: some really fun ones.
- 20:27Speaker 2: The 2019 game with Taggart with the double pass, which
- 20:30Speaker 2: I still don't think was a double pass. I will
- 20:33Speaker 2: blame the refs for that one. That big comeback by Miami,
- 20:36Speaker 2: that was a good game. 2015, Dalvin again finding a
- 20:39Speaker 2: way to win. 2016 was the block of the rock.
- 20:41Speaker 2: But to have one go to overtime and have one
- 20:44Speaker 2: go to double overtime and just be back and forth.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Both teams had a lead late. Both teams had chances late.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Certainly, if you're an FSU guy, you'd like to come
- 20:53Speaker 2: out on the winning side of that, but you're not
- 20:56Speaker 2: a good enough.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Team to have some of the mistakes you had.
- 20:59Speaker 2: You're not coached well enough to have some of the
- 21:01Speaker 2: mistakes you had, and so such is life, right? But overall,
- 21:06Speaker 2: I don't want to be a prisoner of the moment,
- 21:08Speaker 2: but that was one of the best FSU Miami games
- 21:10Speaker 2: I've ever seen.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So let me know your thoughts down in the comments. Again,
- 21:13Speaker 1: we appreciate our friends over at PrizePix. All new users there.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Play $ 5. Get $ 150 in lineups instantly if you win.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Florida State drops it.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Miami finds a way to win, and we will be
- 21:24Speaker 2: back on ACC Football Addiction soon.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I survived this. I'm going to say it. Don't yell
- 21:30Speaker 1: at me, Canes fans, but go Noles.
