- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:03Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Playfake gonna roll.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Right, jumps it off into the right flat to Michael Bumpers,
- 0:08Speaker 3: who bounce us off of one tackler catch inside the
- 0:10Speaker 3: forty down of the forty five yard.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Line powered by seahawks dot Com.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the en zone.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Touchdown.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in
- 0:22Speaker 4: the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 3: A ten yard touchdown receptions for Bumpus, and the kid
- 0:26Speaker 3: out of Washington State has found himself a place.
- 0:29Speaker 2: On this team.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Now, here's your host, Nasa Chobee.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk the Seahawks victorious
- 0:37Speaker 5: beating the Arizona Cardinals sixteen to six. We are broadcasting
- 0:41Speaker 5: live from the Seawks Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the
- 0:44Speaker 5: official partner of the Seattle Seahawks and bump We've been
- 0:47Speaker 5: gone for a little bitkay, as most of the region
- 0:51Speaker 5: was affected by this bomb cyclone. We were also impacted
- 0:54Speaker 5: to hit the vMac knocked out the power for a
- 0:56Speaker 5: couple of days, so we had a lot of good
- 0:58Speaker 5: stuff to tell you we would have predicted it exactly
- 1:00Speaker 5: what happened on Sunday. We already know, you know, we
- 1:02Speaker 5: weren't able to bring that to you. We had the notes,
- 1:04Speaker 5: we did it, but Bump, it felt good to get
- 1:06Speaker 5: this one done.
- 1:06Speaker 6: Man, yeah, Man, sixteen to six, and we knew it
- 1:11Speaker 6: started with the forty nine ers. You need us to
- 1:12Speaker 6: get that win, so you start hopefully this snowball effect
- 1:16Speaker 6: and you get momentum, defenses playing good and they played good, man,
- 1:20Speaker 6: So yes, you needed this. They got her domb avoided
- 1:23Speaker 6: a five game home losing.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Streak that would have been horrible. So thank you for football, guys. No,
- 1:29Speaker 2: it was great. It's so much more.
- 1:30Speaker 5: It changes our whole mentality of the week, everything that
- 1:33Speaker 5: you do when the Seahawks win, especially for us selfishly
- 1:35Speaker 5: doing a postgame show for three hours. It's a lot
- 1:37Speaker 5: easier after win. It had been a long time since
- 1:40Speaker 5: we had a good postgame show at home. So Seahawks
- 1:42Speaker 5: getting done in first place all alone, the top of
- 1:45Speaker 5: the NFC West feels very very good.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Let's get into what happened against these Cardinals. What had happened?
- 1:53Speaker 5: See what had happened was what had happened at first
- 1:56Speaker 5: was what had happened was on Hawk Talk. Seahawks found
- 2:00Speaker 5: a way to win a tough, hard fought, ugly, nasty
- 2:04Speaker 5: grinder type of football game. And that's what division games are, bump,
- 2:07Speaker 5: They're hard to win, especially against a good opponent. The
- 2:09Speaker 5: Arizona Cardinals came into the game had won four games
- 2:11Speaker 5: in a row, and this game was far from a shootout.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Our coworker Brian Walters, who predicted the shootout, you weazy.
- 2:17Speaker 5: That did not happen. The first six drives in this
- 2:20Speaker 5: game ended in punts for both teams. But from the
- 2:22Speaker 5: opening kickoff the Seahawks defense they came to play boy.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Mafi Tyre s Knight both got sacks on that first drive,
- 2:28Speaker 5: forcing the Cardinals punt.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Yeah, nice to see to see Knight get on the
- 2:31Speaker 6: board early. Man, get that conference going. The stunt that
- 2:33Speaker 6: they ran with him and Ernest Jones was beautiful. To
- 2:37Speaker 6: you compromise the center, It was nice, But like you said, man,
- 2:40Speaker 6: it was a defensive battle.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Man.
- 2:41Speaker 6: After six consecutive punts, the Cardinals got on the board first.
- 2:43Speaker 6: They won six plays thirty three yards and chat Ryland
- 2:46Speaker 6: kicked the field goal that made the score three zero.
- 2:48Speaker 6: The Seahawks were fortunate to only give up three points
- 2:50Speaker 6: as Michael was a touchdown was taken off the board
- 2:52Speaker 6: after a holding penaltyam and then Marvin Harrison Juor nearly
- 2:55Speaker 6: had a toe tapping touchdown but it was ruled out
- 2:57Speaker 6: of balance. The Cardinals would challenge that theme but call
- 3:00Speaker 6: was upheld, and then after two punts, the Seayals offense
- 3:03Speaker 6: would finally get rolling after seven play, sixty one yard
- 3:06Speaker 6: drive in and with a three yard touchdown pass from
- 3:08Speaker 6: Genome to Jackson Smith and Jigba that made the score
- 3:11Speaker 6: seven to three. But the big play was Jayson on
- 3:13Speaker 6: that screen. Yeah, hey, he looked like he ran a
- 3:16Speaker 6: fall fall on that play. I watched all twenty two.
- 3:18Speaker 6: He was moving. Then I looked up through the numbers,
- 3:21Speaker 6: I go, he got to be running like twenty one
- 3:23Speaker 6: miles an hour.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Think about man nineteen miles an hour. Check your radar.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Yeah, he was moving, but it was big Jayson once
- 3:28Speaker 6: again coming a big in in the screen game.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Yeah, that screen game, that middle screen, whatever you want
- 3:33Speaker 5: to call it. A couple of different variations they've run
- 3:34Speaker 5: this year with the They've had a ton of success
- 3:36Speaker 5: and I love what Jayson's doing there huge, huge, huge
- 3:39Speaker 5: middle screen by the Seahawks.
- 3:40Speaker 2: There.
- 3:41Speaker 5: The Seahawks will forced a punt on the next Cardinals
- 3:43Speaker 5: drive and both teams would head to the locker room
- 3:45Speaker 5: and the Seahawks up seven to three.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So you're feeling confidently good. They were in control.
- 3:49Speaker 5: You love the way the defense was playing, and they
- 3:50Speaker 5: carried that into the second half. On offense, the opening drive,
- 3:54Speaker 5: the Seahawks had a promising start. Unfortunately we had the
- 3:57Speaker 5: punt after Gino got sacked on third and two. But
- 3:59Speaker 5: the falling session, biggest play of the game. Cardinals were
- 4:02Speaker 5: moving the ball. They had already gone forty two plays
- 4:04Speaker 5: or forty two yards on seven plays, setting up a
- 4:06Speaker 5: fourth and one. Now this was at the Seahawks forty
- 4:09Speaker 5: yard line. The Cardinals went for it. It looked like
- 4:12Speaker 5: the Seahawks had got to stop. Devin Witherspoon had a
- 4:15Speaker 5: nice little breakup on a little slant. It was kind
- 4:17Speaker 5: of a bang bang play. Everybody's hype, everyone's hype. It's
- 4:20Speaker 5: loud in the stadium, but we didn't see his coach
- 4:22Speaker 5: mcmike McDonald had called the time out before the play happened.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So there's a lot of growing.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Everyone's like, oh my god, we're gonna have to stab
- 4:29Speaker 5: him again.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Well, I think it worked out. But it did work out.
- 4:33Speaker 6: On the On that play fourth and one, you got
- 4:37Speaker 6: Kyler Murray rolling out to the right side looking to
- 4:40Speaker 6: dump the football over the top with the spoon. The
- 4:42Speaker 6: closing speed was crazy, closes down on him and forces
- 4:46Speaker 6: the air and throw.
- 4:46Speaker 2: People say, oh, this is a horrible throw.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Well, the reason why it was a bath throw from
- 4:49Speaker 6: Kyler Murray's because spoon was right there and he almost
- 4:52Speaker 6: like just flicked it over the top trying to get
- 4:53Speaker 6: over the top and Kobe Bryant man grabs that thing,
- 4:57Speaker 6: takes sixty nine yards to the house.
- 4:59Speaker 2: That made this thirteen to three.
- 5:01Speaker 6: So third quarter, I walk around the stadium, right, I
- 5:04Speaker 6: happened to be walking around the stadium when I went down,
- 5:07Speaker 6: and I'm in the end zone watching him run towards
- 5:10Speaker 6: run towards us, and I was a fan. You know,
- 5:12Speaker 6: I'm with the press, I'm up in the press box.
- 5:14Speaker 6: I gotta be reserved. Nah, I got to let it
- 5:16Speaker 6: all out and celebrate with the people.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So that was cool.
- 5:18Speaker 5: No, definitely hyped on that huge play by Kobe Bryant
- 5:21Speaker 5: and the Seahawks.
- 5:22Speaker 2: That was huge.
- 5:23Speaker 5: At that point, the game was in hand, right, you
- 5:24Speaker 5: felt really good about it. The Seahawks would force a
- 5:27Speaker 5: punt on the next drive. Thank you, Lennard Williams will
- 5:29Speaker 5: get to him most definitely hit two sacks from three plays.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Then that issuing drive for the Seahawks offense. They're marching
- 5:35Speaker 5: right down the field putting together another drive and you
- 5:37Speaker 5: think they're going to put the nail on the coffin.
- 5:38Speaker 2: It's done.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Unfortunately, Gino Smith was intercepted in the end zone, giving
- 5:43Speaker 5: life to the Cardinals. They would try to make things interesting,
- 5:45Speaker 5: driving eleven plays for seventy six yards, what would stall
- 5:48Speaker 5: out in the red zone, having to settle for a
- 5:50Speaker 5: field goal. That was the first time bump it all season.
- 5:53Speaker 5: The Cardinals will fail to score a touchdown in a
- 5:55Speaker 5: goal to go situation. They were sixteen of sixteen end
- 5:58Speaker 5: of the day, sixteen of seventeen made the score thirteen
- 6:01Speaker 5: to six, still one possession game though, Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 2: That was that was big.
- 6:04Speaker 6: The Hawks defensively did something to the Cardinals that have
- 6:07Speaker 6: never been done before. So on the next drive, the
- 6:10Speaker 6: Seahawks will put the game away with a thirteen play
- 6:12Speaker 6: forty nine yard drive. It took eight minutes and twelve
- 6:15Speaker 6: seconds off the clock. The Hawks will convert on a
- 6:17Speaker 6: big third downs man setting up Jason Myers field goal
- 6:22Speaker 6: that made the score sixteen to six with two minutes left.
- 6:25Speaker 2: The Cardinals would miss a field goal on the final drive.
- 6:27Speaker 6: The Seahawks walked away with a hard fad divisional win less.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Get it.
- 6:33Speaker 6: They helped the number five rush offense, so only forty
- 6:36Speaker 6: nine yards on the ground.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Man, we do bolt takes.
- 6:38Speaker 6: On the Bumping Stacey Show, someone said the Hawks hold
- 6:42Speaker 6: the Cardinals under one hundred yards and I thought, oh, okay,
- 6:45Speaker 6: I don't think it's going to happen.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I'll take a one on five one ten. But it
- 6:49Speaker 2: went down, Man, it did. They did a great job.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Well, you know, when something happens once, okay, maybe it
- 6:53Speaker 5: can be a fluke, something happens twice, I don't know
- 6:55Speaker 5: it happens the third time. That's a trend, and that's
- 6:57Speaker 5: what's happening. When the Seahawks defense coming into that, they
- 6:59Speaker 5: had giving up one hundred and fifty yards rushing in
- 7:01Speaker 5: four consecutive games. Now they've had three consecutive games of
- 7:04Speaker 5: shutting running backs down. James Connor seven carries. Yeah, eight yards.
- 7:08Speaker 5: I mean that dude can play some ball. He's had
- 7:10Speaker 5: three hundred yard rushing games this season, so definitely cool
- 7:13Speaker 5: to see where the Seahawks defense is going at. Now
- 7:15Speaker 5: it's time to highlight all the people who made plays, playmakers,
- 7:20Speaker 5: touch down.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Playmakers. To him?
- 7:26Speaker 2: What time it is?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Ho?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Wait, Cat?
- 7:30Speaker 5: Usually we start with the quarterback and we'll get to him,
- 7:32Speaker 5: but I'd be remiss if I didn't start with Big
- 7:34Speaker 5: Cat Leonard Williams, who had the best game of the
- 7:37Speaker 5: Seahawks career, without question, and probably the best game of
- 7:39Speaker 5: a defensive lineman in the National Football League this season.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I mean, you look at the stat line.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Six tackles, two and a half sacks, three to fols,
- 7:47Speaker 5: one pass defended, four QB hits and like I said,
- 7:50Speaker 5: best game we've seen a Seahawks uniform. He took the
- 7:53Speaker 5: game over. He was literally unblockable. I wrote that in
- 7:55Speaker 5: my notes, unblocking. That's all I put down because Leonard Williams,
- 7:58Speaker 5: big Cat, was balling.
- 8:00Speaker 6: Big cats showed you why it's cool to go heavy
- 8:03Speaker 6: on the bench press. He was bench pressing grown men
- 8:07Speaker 6: all the way into the backfield about five or six yards.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I mean It was amazing.
- 8:11Speaker 6: There was one play he drove the center of the
- 8:13Speaker 6: guard back, put him on his butt, and then dove
- 8:15Speaker 6: over him to try to make a play on the quarterback.
- 8:18Speaker 6: I haven't seen a dominant performance by defensive linemen in
- 8:21Speaker 6: the Seahawks uniform like this in a very long time.
- 8:24Speaker 6: That was refreshing. It's a big cat is doing his thing.
- 8:28Speaker 6: And then young Kobe Bryant man so happy for this dude.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Six tackles, one pass defended, went interception, of course, the
- 8:33Speaker 6: sixty nine yard return for a touchdown, and he gave
- 8:36Speaker 6: Marshawn Lynch some love during his little celebration. So the
- 8:40Speaker 6: word of the street is Marshawn got fine or Jamins Williams.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Are the receiver for the team.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Williams, Yeah, he got fined nineteen thousand dollars for doing
- 8:48Speaker 6: that same celebration. So Kobe might have a little FedEx
- 8:54Speaker 6: little let's Smith's.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Make a plead to the league. Come on, we're just
- 8:57Speaker 2: having fun. Come on now, just having fun. Lets the
- 9:00Speaker 2: boys playing on play.
- 9:01Speaker 6: But now Kobe's dope, man, he's The question was was
- 9:04Speaker 6: he gonna be the guy with Jenkins coming back? And
- 9:07Speaker 6: Jenkins still played Jacins played the DC game too, but
- 9:10Speaker 6: Kobe got the start, and when they went to that
- 9:11Speaker 6: three safety deal, that's when Jenkins came in.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Kobe man earned himself a spot defensively. I mean, that's
- 9:17Speaker 5: that's a dream for a coach. You got three safeties
- 9:19Speaker 5: who can play. And that's even without Cavon Wallace, who's
- 9:21Speaker 5: played some good ball. Even Tya Cotta has come in
- 9:23Speaker 5: there and play some good ball. And then three safety
- 9:25Speaker 5: looks so in a position group that looked paper thin
- 9:28Speaker 5: a couple of weeks ago is now back to full strength.
- 9:30Speaker 5: So good to see that. Then flipping over to the offense,
- 9:33Speaker 5: you know, Smith, not a day that's gonna wow you.
- 9:36Speaker 5: On the stat line twenty two to thirty one, two
- 9:37Speaker 5: hundred fifty four yards with the one touchdown, one interception
- 9:40Speaker 5: I mentioned, he did lead that key thirteen play drive
- 9:42Speaker 5: that lasted eight minutes thirteen seconds. You talked about ending game,
- 9:45Speaker 5: you talk about the four minute jill trying to end
- 9:46Speaker 5: the clock down eight minutes thirteen seconds. Put all the
- 9:49Speaker 5: pressure back on the Cardinals, and on that drive he
- 9:52Speaker 5: had three clutch third downs. He had the one where
- 9:54Speaker 5: he eluded pressure, spun out found DK between four or
- 9:57Speaker 5: five defenders. He audible to the run that god Zach
- 10:01Speaker 5: Jarbady the first down on third and four. He connected
- 10:04Speaker 5: with Jasn earlier in drive, so he made Yes, he
- 10:07Speaker 5: did make that one big mistake, but he had so
- 10:08Speaker 5: many other plays where he did the right thing, where
- 10:11Speaker 5: he had good protection and didn't make a bad mistake.
- 10:14Speaker 5: So he did a lot of good things. So good
- 10:16Speaker 5: to see that for Gino Smith. If you can get
- 10:17Speaker 5: rid of one of those turnovers, you know he had
- 10:19Speaker 5: have a great day.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Gino knows how to close things out.
- 10:22Speaker 6: It's not going to be perfect, right quarterbacks, you know,
- 10:26Speaker 6: at the end of the game sometimes don't always execute.
- 10:29Speaker 6: But for the most part, when Gino has a football
- 10:31Speaker 6: in his hands late in the game, you can count
- 10:34Speaker 6: on him putting yourself, putting the team in a good position,
- 10:36Speaker 6: and a lot of it is because of this young man.
- 10:38Speaker 6: Jsm six receptions for seventy seven yards in one touchdowns.
- 10:42Speaker 6: He's already sad a single season career high with sixty
- 10:44Speaker 6: seven receptions. He was twenty three yards shorts short of
- 10:48Speaker 6: his third straight one hundred yard receiving game that would
- 10:50Speaker 6: have tied the club record that DK Metcalf said earlier
- 10:53Speaker 6: this season, jsn is he's a rive just official. You know,
- 10:58Speaker 6: we need to see what you say. One time? Okay,
- 11:00Speaker 6: two times, all right, three times? Yeah, it's official. He's
- 11:02Speaker 6: got three or four big games so far this year.
- 11:04Speaker 6: He looks humptable, and it looks like Grub is understanding
- 11:06Speaker 6: how to.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Use him now. He understands who he is as a player.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, Jason was drafted in the first round
- 11:12Speaker 5: for this reason. This is who everyone knew he could be,
- 11:14Speaker 5: and I love that he's been able to show that
- 11:16Speaker 5: three games in a row. Broadcasting live from the Seahawks
- 11:19Speaker 5: Podcast Studio, presented by Sony, the official partner of the
- 11:22Speaker 5: Seattle Seahawks this NFL season. Feel every play, every hit,
- 11:26Speaker 5: every moment with the Sony one thousand XM five noise
- 11:29Speaker 5: canceling headphones, the official headphones of the Seattle Seahawks. With
- 11:32Speaker 5: premium noise cancelation. You're in the zone, no distractions, just
- 11:36Speaker 5: pure football, whether you're in your living room or on
- 11:38Speaker 5: the go. You'll never miss a beat with Sony headphones.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Sticking on the offensive side of the ball, bump Ken Walker,
- 11:44Speaker 5: you know it wasn't again, not a game that's going
- 11:46Speaker 5: to be eye popping on the stats. He had ninety
- 11:48Speaker 5: three total yards, forty three yards rushing and fifty two
- 11:50Speaker 5: yards receiving.
- 11:52Speaker 2: He did hurdle a guy, you did because.
- 11:53Speaker 5: He's ken Walker and impressive, does ken Walker things, and
- 11:56Speaker 5: he's the guy that man. He gets you when you
- 11:59Speaker 5: don't have the play block for anything, he'll still get
- 12:01Speaker 5: you two or three yards.
- 12:02Speaker 2: So love to see ken Walker going.
- 12:03Speaker 5: I feel like the offense is getting closer to figuring
- 12:06Speaker 5: out that run game. They're not quite there yet, but
- 12:08Speaker 5: when you have guy ken Walker, it's only a matter
- 12:09Speaker 5: of time.
- 12:10Speaker 2: So he can really get things going. He makes something
- 12:12Speaker 2: out of nothing he had.
- 12:13Speaker 6: He probably has two of the most athletic plays in
- 12:17Speaker 6: the NFL this year.
- 12:18Speaker 2: One where he dang near somersaulted over a guy.
- 12:20Speaker 6: Oh yes, and then this weekend jumping over guy only
- 12:23Speaker 6: one who has him at Saquon Barkley with the backwards jump.
- 12:25Speaker 6: I mean, come on, but K nine makes those plays, man,
- 12:28Speaker 6: And it seems like he understands where the run game is,
- 12:32Speaker 6: like you're almost there.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He doesn't seem frustrated.
- 12:34Speaker 6: He understands that it's a it's a it's a process,
- 12:37Speaker 6: and they're moving in the right direction. Eventually he's going
- 12:40Speaker 6: to have himself a big game. Let's go over to defense.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Ernest Jones ten tackles, five solo, let the team in tackles.
- 12:45Speaker 6: I want to say he's let the team and tackles
- 12:47Speaker 6: every game he's played for the Seahawks. So let's go
- 12:50Speaker 6: get man. Ernest Jones getting down here. I love watching
- 12:52Speaker 6: the film on this defense with him there. The gap,
- 12:55Speaker 6: integrity is on point, he's meeting forced with Forrest, He's
- 12:58Speaker 6: getting hands on guys.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Jones is leading this defense. What an acquisition, man.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Yeah, it just completely different level play from him. And
- 13:06Speaker 5: now you got the young guy, Tyrese Knight, who was
- 13:09Speaker 5: playing phenomenal football as well.
- 13:10Speaker 2: So I love to see that.
- 13:11Speaker 5: He had nine tackles, one QB hit, one TfL, got
- 13:14Speaker 5: his first career sacks. So definitely love the young fella
- 13:17Speaker 5: getting that done. He's been playing good football and miss defense.
- 13:20Speaker 5: We talked about it just looks different, and Paul Moyer
- 13:23Speaker 5: talked about a lot of the post game show last night.
- 13:25Speaker 5: This looks sustainable, how they're doing it, the teams. They
- 13:27Speaker 5: did it against three good teams who have given you trouble.
- 13:30Speaker 2: The DRAMs.
- 13:31Speaker 5: We lost that game of the defense only gave up
- 13:33Speaker 5: thirteen points in regulation. The forty nine ers have given
- 13:36Speaker 5: you fits for three years. Now then you take down
- 13:38Speaker 5: the Cardinals. So cool to see that going on, Bump.
- 13:41Speaker 5: Let's talk about the receivers.
- 13:43Speaker 6: All right, Let's talk about him Jayson like I mentioned,
- 13:46Speaker 6: six receptions, seventy seven yards on seven targets and a touchdown,
- 13:50Speaker 6: a long a forty six DK. A quiet game, but
- 13:53Speaker 6: not there's two big third downs to start the start
- 13:56Speaker 6: the game. It was a big third down he picked
- 13:58Speaker 6: up and then towards the end a big third down
- 14:00Speaker 6: and he had four for fifty nine, a long of
- 14:01Speaker 6: twenty nine. Kenneth Walker had four for fifty two along
- 14:04Speaker 6: of twenty one. Tyler Lockett two for twenty a big
- 14:06Speaker 6: third down as well. Pharaol Brown two for nineteen. One
- 14:09Speaker 6: big boy catch, one big boy physical sideline. It was
- 14:13Speaker 6: so physical I thought it was DK for a second. Oh,
- 14:15Speaker 6: I gotta be a DK right now. That was Farrel
- 14:17Speaker 6: Brown on that sideline making some noise. Aj Barne had
- 14:20Speaker 6: three for nineteen and Jake Bobo had one for eight.
- 14:23Speaker 6: As a group, the average eleven point five per reception
- 14:27Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty four yards.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Yep, definitely good showing from those guys. Again, love when
- 14:31Speaker 5: you spread the wealth. A lot of guys out here
- 14:33Speaker 5: making plays. We've talked about it earlier. This was, without
- 14:36Speaker 5: question the play of the game that really put the
- 14:38Speaker 5: Seahawks in control. Kobe Bryant picking off Kyler Murray on
- 14:43Speaker 5: fourth and one, running it back for a sixty nine
- 14:46Speaker 5: yard touchdown.
- 14:47Speaker 3: At the forty Murray Umber Center. This time playfake. Murray's
- 14:51Speaker 3: gonna try to get it. He's gonna run far side.
- 14:53Speaker 3: He's gonna jump it over the top in accepted Kobe
- 14:56Speaker 3: Bryant far sideline.
- 14:57Speaker 2: He's got the Balkers.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Thirty twenty ten five touchdown Shahawks, no flags. Kobe Bryant
- 15:09Speaker 4: on a huge mistake. I beg your pardon.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Flag is down far sidelines in front of the Arizona bench.
- 15:17Speaker 3: But I don't think that's gonna take a touchdown off
- 15:20Speaker 3: the board. As Kobe Bryant was ready for the rule
- 15:24Speaker 3: to the right side by Kyler Murray. Murray floats it up,
- 15:29Speaker 3: overthrows the tight end. Brian picks it off. Okay, the
- 15:33Speaker 3: touchdown is good.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Just be where he's supposed to be. A good thing
- 15:37Speaker 2: is gonna happen.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Do your job, But I think you gotta give big
- 15:40Speaker 6: ups to Spoon here.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Man.
- 15:42Speaker 6: You got Kyler Murray. He's under center. He fakes a
- 15:45Speaker 6: handoff rolling to the right side. Michael Wilson is attached
- 15:49Speaker 6: to the line of scrimmage kind of like a tight end.
- 15:51Speaker 2: He engages with Tyree's ninth, then he hits the flap.
- 15:54Speaker 6: So Spoon sees that Kyler Murray's rolling to the right,
- 15:57Speaker 6: he just jets right to him, and then Tyree's Nino
- 15:59Speaker 6: was guy caught up in like the gray area. He
- 16:01Speaker 6: didn't know what to do. Do I run with Michael
- 16:03Speaker 6: Wilson or do I help out with Murray. Thankfully, the
- 16:06Speaker 6: pressure from Spoon forces Murray to float one over the top.
- 16:10Speaker 6: And then Kobe Bryant gets an early Christmas gift and
- 16:13Speaker 6: he turns on the Jets, gets to the house, big
- 16:16Speaker 6: salute to beast mode, And like I said, I was
- 16:19Speaker 6: in the end zone with the people just showing some love.
- 16:22Speaker 6: Really happy for Kobe Bryant. But this is a big play.
- 16:24Speaker 6: The Hawks needed this play. The game was tight at
- 16:27Speaker 6: the moment and Kobe Bryant coming up big.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Kobe, you said you mentioned it right place, right time.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Love that Devin witherspon. I mean, he made this play
- 16:35Speaker 5: happen on two fronts. So for one, he's crashing down
- 16:38Speaker 5: in that gap to play the run there, realizes it's
- 16:41Speaker 5: not and not many people can spin around like he
- 16:44Speaker 5: did back.
- 16:45Speaker 2: To the quarterback. Then close on a guy like Kyler Murray.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Who has that type of speed, who runs like I
- 16:50Speaker 5: don't know what is like a four three four two,
- 16:52Speaker 5: I don't know what it was, but.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Before three and he closed on him. He causes that.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Then once the interception happens, he not just celebrating. Then
- 16:59Speaker 5: he gets his butt down down there, takes out two
- 17:01Speaker 5: guys running down, sets up the game ceiling block for
- 17:05Speaker 5: Kobe Bryant's running in the end zone. Devin Wither's doing
- 17:07Speaker 5: the motor that man has. Not many people in the
- 17:10Speaker 5: league can play with it. We've seen it from day one.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I don't can't count how many different plays we've seen
- 17:15Speaker 5: that type of effort.
- 17:15Speaker 2: For twenty one.
- 17:16Speaker 5: He plays at a different speed than most people do
- 17:18Speaker 5: in the NFL. And not saying something because we're talking
- 17:20Speaker 5: about the best athletes in the world.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Another two things, Kobe, thank you for getting some run
- 17:25Speaker 6: after the catch because the last interception you had, sir.
- 17:28Speaker 6: He went down and he mentioned it during the post game.
- 17:30Speaker 6: He goes, yeah, you know, teammates are only a little
- 17:32Speaker 6: bit for going down. But he said he was tired,
- 17:34Speaker 6: so I understand it. But it's nice for him to
- 17:35Speaker 6: go get him and then too. That's the most emotion
- 17:37Speaker 6: I've seen from Mike McDonald. All ye, he was high
- 17:40Speaker 6: man and rightfully so so big playing the game and
- 17:44Speaker 6: kind of happened to a better person.
- 17:45Speaker 5: No love it from Kobe, especially everything he's gone through
- 17:47Speaker 5: since he's been here. To see him balling out the
- 17:49Speaker 5: way he's doing. Love to see it from him. Broadcasting
- 17:52Speaker 5: a lot from the Seahawks Podcast Studio presented by Sony,
- 17:54Speaker 5: the official partner of.
- 17:56Speaker 2: The Seattle Seahawks.
- 17:57Speaker 5: And that'll bring us to our favorite formation. We've had
- 17:59Speaker 5: it two weeks in a row, victory formation.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Here comes the Seahawks offense onto the field and the
- 18:06Speaker 3: Vikings defense trutching out there knowing that one meal down
- 18:12Speaker 3: and the Seahawks are gonna line the clock down and
- 18:14Speaker 3: win this one.
- 18:15Speaker 1: It's the victory formation on Hawk Talk.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Wasn't the prettiest bump, but I say this all the time.
- 18:21Speaker 5: You never apologize for wins in the National Football League,
- 18:24Speaker 5: and the Seahawks got it done, and me and being
- 18:25Speaker 5: the defensive guy. I like that stuff because it is
- 18:28Speaker 5: so much fun to watch a game with your team
- 18:30Speaker 5: when they're getting stops on defense, when every time third
- 18:33Speaker 5: down comes up, you know they're gonna get them off
- 18:34Speaker 5: the field. Love to see that Seahawks defense. They balled
- 18:37Speaker 5: out help the Cardinals out of the end zone for
- 18:38Speaker 5: the first time this season. Coming into the game, the
- 18:41Speaker 5: Cardinals were on a four game winning streak and they
- 18:42Speaker 5: were averaging twenty six points a game during that span,
- 18:45Speaker 5: only scored six on Sunday, and.
- 18:47Speaker 6: They shut down the run man forty nine yards on fourteen.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Carris is crazy man. Like we mentioned, the Cardinals were
- 18:53Speaker 6: the fifth ranked running offense in the game.
- 18:56Speaker 2: We knew that was gonna be a point of emphasis
- 18:58Speaker 2: all year.
- 18:59Speaker 6: You got New England rushing for a buckety five on
- 19:01Speaker 6: you seem like everybody's going over one hundred. But then
- 19:04Speaker 6: he starts to chip away, break things down, make some
- 19:07Speaker 6: roster moves, bring us some new linebackers, new defensive line.
- 19:11Speaker 6: And when Mike McDonald's with the Ravens, it took him
- 19:14Speaker 6: like eight to ten weeks to get that defense gone. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:17Speaker 6: here we go, right right. It's a resembling what's going
- 19:20Speaker 6: on over there. Still a lot to do, but you
- 19:21Speaker 6: got to be happy about that. And you also held
- 19:23Speaker 6: the Cardinals to three of twelve on third downs. That
- 19:26Speaker 6: means you're stopping these drives and making things frustrating for him.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Yeah, winning football, and to play winning football, you gotta
- 19:32Speaker 5: have guys like Leonard Williams, big cat game of his life,
- 19:34Speaker 5: at least in the Seahawks uniform. Six tackles, two and
- 19:37Speaker 5: F sacks, three TFLs, four QB hits, one pass defended.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That dude was on another planet.
- 19:42Speaker 5: And I'm hoping that was good enough kind of the
- 19:44Speaker 5: coming out party to get him the recognition he deserves
- 19:46Speaker 5: because he has been playing at an all pro type
- 19:48Speaker 5: level all season long, and now with the linebackers in
- 19:51Speaker 5: the front seven all playing together, you're getting to see
- 19:53Speaker 5: him show that more so.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I love to see that.
- 19:55Speaker 5: And then an offense wasn't their previous game by any means,
- 19:57Speaker 5: but when they needed they came up big. Final I've
- 20:00Speaker 5: taken eight minutes, twelve seconds out the clock converting on
- 20:03Speaker 5: a clutch three times three third downs.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Keep those changs moving.
- 20:06Speaker 6: It's all about those third downs. They started off one
- 20:08Speaker 6: for five on third downs. They finished seven to fourteen,
- 20:12Speaker 6: so there was some some progress there and the Seahawks
- 20:15Speaker 6: are now back in small baby first place in the
- 20:17Speaker 6: NFC West.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Forty nine is loss rams loss.
- 20:21Speaker 6: Thank you Sakum, Thank you Jordan Love for helping your
- 20:25Speaker 6: boys out.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Man.
- 20:26Speaker 2: So let's go get it. Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 5: No, the Seahawks are right where they want to be.
- 20:29Speaker 5: They control their destiny moving forward. They have a game
- 20:31Speaker 5: against the Jets we're gonna get ready for on Wednesday
- 20:33Speaker 5: this week. The Jets, they've had their issues, but when
- 20:37Speaker 5: you look at their roster, I tell you they have
- 20:39Speaker 5: guys that can make plays. Just got them and they
- 20:41Speaker 5: got those Cardinals back in two weeks. So Seahawks are
- 20:44Speaker 5: in a great shape. They're six and five, bumps at it.
- 20:46Speaker 5: They're leading the NFC West. Make sure you watch us
- 20:49Speaker 5: on YouTube on the Seahawks Press Past channel, also on
- 20:51Speaker 5: Apple podcast, Excuse Me Series XM, and more. This has
- 20:55Speaker 5: been fun, Bump, I love talking about Seahawks win. Just
- 20:58Speaker 5: been two weeks in a row, so hoping we can
- 20:59Speaker 5: get that done. We'll preview the Jets game later this week.
- 21:02Speaker 5: This has been Hawk Talk. He he's Michael Bambas, I'm
- 21:04Speaker 5: NASA Toby. We will talk to you next time.
