Transcript
- 0:00Hi friends, you'll listening to lose the pot with color and
- 0:03Emily. In this episode, we're reading
- 0:05Daisy Jones and the six by Taylor Jenkins, read.
- 0:09We are talking about the entire book, so warning there will be
- 0:12spoilers. I'm Carla.
- 0:27And that's the glory of being a man and ugly face.
- 0:30Isn't the end of you fact. I'm Emily and hard-ons, you
- 0:37rather not have should be a con on everyone's list, hard-ons.
- 0:43You shouldn't. Have you rather not have whose
- 0:46quote, is that? I feel like it's G.
- 0:50Oh, it's someone to Billy. Graham, the black sheep of the
- 0:57family. Before we get started my first
- 1:01impressions. Before we, before I started
- 1:03reading, this was I was lowkey scared to start because of the
- 1:07seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I was worried.
- 1:10He still traumatized from that because I was like, oh cool,
- 1:15Carla picks. Another depressing book is just
- 1:21staring at me is my thoughts. The entire book was Carl.
- 1:24Not allowed to pick any more books.
- 1:26I got cancels, you cancel cancel, my, I would personally,
- 1:33not finish this book. If I wasn't forced to write, I
- 1:37think I would have got three pages in and would have been
- 1:39like it is not for me. So I was just angry for three
- 1:44days. Yeah, it didn't invoke anger in
- 1:50me but I was worried. Let's just say that.
- 1:54It's so you should have been. I'm concerned.
- 1:58I'm not anymore because I finished it this morning.
- 2:00I feel like you nearly put me in a reading slump.
- 2:05That is so not my fault. It's just like powering through
- 2:09million books a year and you're just like reading slump reading,
- 2:13I refuse to do the podcast ever again.
- 2:17Damn. This is the book to break you?
- 2:19Yes, not bad. It was that bad.
- 2:22Wow, we have such a differing opinion already.
- 2:25I love it. Let's just duke it out.
- 2:26First, you please read different books, the grounds.
- 2:30Well, I didn't really, I don't know.
- 2:32I think I this came up a lot because people were talking
- 2:35Think about it because there's that new Amazon series.
- 2:38I bet you that's going to be a really great series, probably,
- 2:41but the book is shit. Well, I kind of like, when I saw
- 2:44the little tiny snippet, so I tried not to watch a lot because
- 2:46I didn't want to think about migrating want to give anything
- 2:49away. It kind of gave me like,
- 2:51Euphoria, but rock and roll lives.
- 2:54Yeah, like that like a young show.
- 2:57Ya show got young people, sure, young sexy people, young sexy
- 3:03people but rise 70s. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:06Getting high. Yeah just like That 70s.
- 3:09Show me having sex Rock Edition but Stephenie show how pretty
- 3:13much a yeah. Sorry, the thing I liked is
- 3:17because I listened to the audiobook version.
- 3:20I didn't mind that, it kept bouncing around, but I feel like
- 3:23if I was physically reading it, I'd be punching holes in the
- 3:25walls. So you would be angry.
- 3:28I would be because it bounced around.
- 3:30So because it had so many different perspectives.
- 3:33The audio book is really good because there was a difference.
- 3:35Voice. So you could just be like oh
- 3:36cool, it's not even perspective. So it's it's the long-winded
- 3:40interview. It's DJ a magazine clip from the
- 3:4570s. Yeah, that was three hundred and
- 3:48eighty pages. Long You not having it.
- 3:53I'm not having any fun, it has a great story but it has no story.
- 3:59But you know what? I'm pissed off about.
- 4:01When you hear about sex, drugs, rock and roll.
- 4:03I thought this was going to go in, like I thought this was
- 4:06going to have lots more gory details than it.
- 4:09Did it was very much a tell book and not a show book if that
- 4:13makes sense. Like, it was telling us what was
- 4:15happening and not showing if it showed what was happening like.
- 4:19Yeah, full detail of an actual book, you would have been so
- 4:22much better. Yeah, and it had the same kind
- 4:25of style as the seven husbands of Evelyn who go to is that how
- 4:29she writes all her books. Maybe because it have a say, I
- 4:32never want to read another one. I feel like there is the seven
- 4:36husbands. Did it better?
- 4:38I won't they it did do it better and I will never forget that
- 4:42book, which is really funny but this one, I'm literally, I'm
- 4:48sorry, because I know people really loved I see her really
- 4:51good reviews. I really did like it but it
- 4:53didn't take me as much on a rollercoaster as 700 had no
- 4:58plot. Yeah, this one's kind of like
- 5:01it's already happened so it doesn't matter because it was
- 5:03looking so much into the past. Yeah.
- 5:05So it was kind of like it wasn't as exciting because you're kind
- 5:08of like it's everything's already happened and you know
- 5:11that all these people are fine. Are they?
- 5:14Well, they were being interviewed, so they didn't die.
- 5:16So, at least it was fun. Dear.
- 5:18Well, it was, it was whole. She was, she was the only good
- 5:22character Justice for Camilla. I was only one getting me
- 5:30through. It was too good.
- 5:31I was like, come on girl. Yeah, true in a way.
- 5:34I'm Bayern don't be a martyr for Billy.
- 5:37Fuck Bill. He's not worth it.
- 5:39Billy's a dick fuck Billy Bob. Okay.
- 5:42So before we are Carried away. I figured days.
- 5:45He's kind of our main character, but we don't get that much
- 5:48perspective from her really. There's no main characters.
- 5:51It's mm7 main characters like the eight.
- 5:56Nine, ten. Yeah, but we do learn about
- 6:00Daisy, is her parents were neglectful as fuck, she's a,
- 6:04raging drug addict, she had no parental supervision.
- 6:07She literally moved out just with a friend of hers that she
- 6:09meant going out clubbing. Underage.
- 6:11Yeah, which was Simone, who was a few?
- 6:13Older than her. We stand.
- 6:14She eventually moved out and the parents didn't even know.
- 6:17No, they're just like, oh, blah, blah, talking to her one day.
- 6:21And she's like, I don't live here anymore.
- 6:22Dad my dad had a thing for painting.
- 6:25Male models, naked male models, and I just wanted to know more
- 6:29of that, like why was that your choice?
- 6:32We need more work right out of all, the things males are ugly.
- 6:37That penises are gross. Do you want to paint penises on
- 6:42it? Why are you asking me if I've
- 6:45ever implied that they could be worse ways to make a living?
- 6:50It seems like shoveling pig shit?
- 6:52I don't know. I'm not seems more fruitful.
- 6:56Dude, if you want to be in some sty shoveling shit, instead of
- 7:00painting penises, it's the same thing.
- 7:05Damn the righteous leaked into all other errands right now.
- 7:11Okay, so some Martin was great. She was the only person who gave
- 7:14a singular, fuck about Daisy, ever?
- 7:16Yeah, I think she's just a couple years older than she was
- 7:19a few years older, but Daisy didn't even like it was a weird
- 7:22one way friendship really to be fair.
- 7:24Daisy was wild and I don't know who she had any friends.
- 7:27Well, she kind of didn't she would be so stressful.
- 7:31I know. She's like one of those people
- 7:34that I could never be as sorry, if it sounds like she's young
- 7:38and free. And yes, it's how she wants on
- 7:40liar. Look L caught a foot on glass
- 7:42because she was on drugs. Yeah, she's not free.
- 7:46That's when she was an adult, love learning when she like a
- 7:48teenager. She was just bang.
- 7:51The thing is, she didn't really want to be with and sleep with
- 7:54rock styles. She just did because she got
- 7:57away with it. I wanted somewhere else to be,
- 7:59but home. Yeah, that's it.
- 8:01And I think she thought that's what she had to do.
- 8:03Yeah. Because she was like 15 14.
- 8:06She was literally like 14 when she started going out now.
- 8:09Yeah. Was weird because I sort of went
- 8:12into the kind of rock star sleeping with underage girls
- 8:15thing, but I'm sure it would be way worse than what they
- 8:17depicted in this book. It really weird that the girl
- 8:21playing DayZ is Elvis's granddaughter and his Priscilla
- 8:27is a Priscilla was like 12 when they started dating so
- 8:32essentially. Yeah, it's the same idea.
- 8:37Yeah. It was like a nice 20s or
- 8:39something. Well day.
- 8:41Being a twelve-year-old. I'm pretty sure they.
- 8:43Yeah, when they got married, she was 14.
- 8:45So she would have needed parental consent of the time.
- 8:48Yeah. So Tulsa, call this full circle,
- 8:53so I know it's, yeah, she was just interested in.
- 8:56Oh, what's this? Drugs and alcohol, shit.
- 8:59You know, Frankie, what's it, literally, and that's what makes
- 9:03me really sad because it was her only personality tree, I know
- 9:07opposite. Yeah.
- 9:08Just popping pills, one sugar. At once go down.
- 9:11She was apparently, just gorgeous.
- 9:13Of course. I don't know how.
- 9:15I know, I sweating all the time. Yeah, she was lucky.
- 9:18She had no boobs, no, but she does all hair and always wearing
- 9:23White Tank's. All dripping in sweat.
- 9:25Yeah, just dry under just strung the fuck out at all times.
- 9:30I just wish he not like twitching the time.
- 9:36Yeah. So I don't even know like she
- 9:38started her drug use when she was a teenager.
- 9:40I Since you would just take pills, she didn't care what they
- 9:43were or how would she survived? The only thing I can think of is
- 9:47if this was nowadays with all the synthetic drugs, she would
- 9:50have been overdosed a hundred times over.
- 9:52I don't even know how she didn't do that already.
- 9:55I know but the alcohol in her system.
- 9:57Yeah sparked that she kind of just choose like a stubborn
- 10:00bratty girl she wanted to do whatever she wanted and she did
- 10:03love writing her music. That was kind of her other only
- 10:06personality trait. Yeah.
- 10:09But you don't hear about it. Yeah.
- 10:10Yeah, the thing is she just wanted to like she wanted a
- 10:14record deal to fall in her lap and for her to be able to do all
- 10:17of her independence songs just off the bat.
- 10:19Yeah, while still kind of being a nobody and I think it was when
- 10:23Teddy picked her up as her manager.
- 10:26And he was just like, you can't fucking do that.
- 10:28No. He's like, just roll with his
- 10:31first album and then what she never finished a song.
- 10:33Yeah, that was her problem. Yeah.
- 10:35She never finished a single one. Yep.
- 10:37And she just thought they're good enough.
- 10:39I want to be able to do my songs.
- 10:40Yeah. Like they're not polished.
- 10:42You've got to eat a bit of Humble Pie and like understand
- 10:45that bitch. You're dumb, you don't?
- 10:47Yeah, he gave her big dose of reality and she was like, okay
- 10:50and then so she recorded her first album.
- 10:53So she was kind of getting a name.
- 10:54As a socialite though before she got that first album off the
- 10:57ground, just because she was sleeping with rock stars,
- 10:58everyone knew who she was? Yeah, she does that photo taken
- 11:01and dogs out all the time. What's dogs, why did I think you
- 11:08mentioned? Sorry.
- 11:10She She would have the grossest fucking feet and tell me.
- 11:14They would be so dry and crackly.
- 11:18She born, no shoes anywhere, just tone, a lie, those feet of
- 11:22never seen soap. Hmm.
- 11:24And she's like, he's walking around.
- 11:25On sticky, gross, floors. Floors back, rooms Hotel.
- 11:33Dodgy hotel room was I don't know.
- 11:35Threw me for a loop Emily: With daisies dirty feet.
- 11:43You know they were black on the bottom.
- 11:45Yeah, that's true. She's just a happy baby Emily.
- 11:49She just does what she was. She was definitely not the tree.
- 11:53Hugger type free guy at all. She was some take pills all day
- 11:58and have coffee for breakfast and that was it.
- 12:01It wasn't even coffee was coffee and champagne.
- 12:03That sounds so fucking disgusting.
- 12:06It's very cigarettes and grapefruit.
- 12:08Isn't it or cheese block of cheese?
- 12:10Yeah, but At least champagne in the coffee and then washing down
- 12:14your pills with it before you've even open your eyes properly is
- 12:17just like how she did not die from the lack of nutrition and
- 12:20variably. I know her body would be in some
- 12:23kind of starvation mode. Just shitting out the pills.
- 12:26Like look at David's. Come here.
- 12:29She's like, did I put that up? I just came out.
- 12:33She wouldn't know. No, she didn't.
- 12:35So that's her upbringing wild. Her parents were apparently
- 12:39famous. So know what He's just like a
- 12:41little kid from The Wild Thornberrys.
- 12:43No, that's not. It is.
- 12:48If that's why she can climb installment climb a tree.
- 12:50She didn't have the literacy skills to finish the focus that
- 12:54again, politics book with an illiterate child.
- 12:57It's very important for you. I've had enough Three Degrees of
- 13:01Separation with every book. I choose an illiterate children.
- 13:05It's funny because you always have a go at me for why people
- 13:08like, you literally pee, The same thing in a different fun
- 13:12every time I don't even mean to and then we getting so different
- 13:18and then you get mad, there's like, no smut stains because
- 13:21that's the only thing that gets you through it.
- 13:22And it's, you know, why are people saying books like this is
- 13:27spicy when they're not. I blame everyone on big dog.
- 13:32You should because a spice Factor on Tick-Tock is not real.
- 13:36Well, they'll be like five out of five spice and K2 black Tell
- 13:41me, like, five out of five spicy.
- 13:43It's just the Bible. You don't get the dictionary.
- 13:52You need a pick the ones where they put the actual light
- 13:54chapter. Mmm, Yeah, screen page true.
- 13:59I've got to spoil myself a little so that I'm only at least
- 14:02getting what I want out of it. Although to be fair, the Bible's
- 14:04more spicy than this, there's lots of, there's a lot going on.
- 14:07There's a lot more sex going on in the Bible than this.
- 14:11There's a lot more drama. It wasn't about what I thought
- 14:14it was going to be about. I thought it was going to be
- 14:15like Wolf of Wall Street, 70s, rock and roll's, you shouldn't.
- 14:20I don't really know why I thought that.
- 14:22All right I think it's because when you look it up on Tick-Tock
- 14:25which is all good reads. You have all these people
- 14:28hopping up and they're like it's the best book ever but no one
- 14:31tells you it's interview font. Yeah.
- 14:33And that's all it is. Is them saying it's all
- 14:36repetitive way through. Mmm.
- 14:39Yep. There's nothing.
- 14:40Well. Surprised.
- 14:41It was actually a lot shorter than other books on audio book
- 14:44and I was like, okay that's fine.
- 14:46I won't like a quicker, read, I suppose.
- 14:49But when things weren't happening enough, I was like,
- 14:54least you can speed it up in audio.
- 14:56That's yeah, well, it kind of plateaued at a point where I
- 14:58thought this book is very skimmable.
- 15:00You can skim a lot and ideal grass but the entire plot I
- 15:04there's a lot of pages I did not read, it was a bit like on
- 15:07autopilot and when you have a book about rock and roll in the
- 15:10Nice. You kind of expect it to be
- 15:13dirty and crunchier spicier. Yeah, where was the real drama?
- 15:18And even the drama I didn't have drama.
- 15:21Hmm, I think it would make a very good TV show.
- 15:25Yeah. It's because it's like a basic
- 15:27plotline. Hmm.
- 15:29And you can fill in all the blanks someone else can fill in
- 15:32all the blanks. Yeah.
- 15:34And you need to see more of it I guess while days he's growing up
- 15:38and being a teenager Billy. And his brother Graham.
- 15:41They have their own like 2% and yeah and it's just them to and
- 15:45it's called the Dunn Brothers and they just play local gigs at
- 15:48weddings and stuff like that one wedding.
- 15:50They're at, they casually, see their own dad, who abandoned
- 15:54fuck his daddy with a young girl, you're dancing with some
- 15:58young girl at a wedding. Was it his child or was it his
- 16:03date? I think they implied, it was his
- 16:05date it off like he's still out philandering around and they're
- 16:08just like and be Ali 40 year olds and 12 year olds, don't
- 16:13mix. Well, they shouldn't unless
- 16:15that's your parent, dad and his daughter and you're like I will
- 16:23always think the was my house event.
- 16:26So my sensible child is like it's my day and was basically
- 16:40Like, I can't believe he doesn't even recognize his own kids, but
- 16:44Billy hasn't seen me since you guys were in nappies.
- 16:46What do you think you go to years old?
- 16:48Yeah. What do you staked, your just
- 16:49two random guys to him. Yeah, he's living his back.
- 16:52Hey life, he's not going. Oh, I had kids last 19 years
- 16:56ago, has not passed, a thought about you in the toy.
- 17:00In two years, I'm amazed he's not paying child support.
- 17:02No, are you kidding? And then Billy sort of realized
- 17:06this is when I realized that people can be the worst or
- 17:10Buckner Mine lame. I mean, it wasn't when he
- 17:15skinned out and never seen you again and left for your mum to
- 17:17pay for everything. So yourself, it's now when he
- 17:20doesn't recognize you, he's got a complex of how been
- 17:23recognized, I know. So Billy meets this girl
- 17:27Camilla. And he likes a straightaway
- 17:29asks, her out and then pretty quickly.
- 17:32Their relationship becomes serious.
- 17:33Yeah. And they're not really a
- 17:35fully-fledged band yet, anyway, so that's totally fine.
- 17:38She thinks it's kind of cool that she's dating a guy in a
- 17:40band, whatever. They're Bend slowly gains
- 17:43momentum and then they turn into the six.
- 17:46Yeah, so they've got more band members.
- 17:48They've got more instruments, Billy still, the lead singer,
- 17:51and his brothers grown still there.
- 17:54Who grammed has to deal with so much.
- 17:57He's got a lot going on. He's like Billy Shadow sort of
- 18:01got the start, I see Billy is. So self-centered, it's insane.
- 18:05It's he reckons it's for him and only him.
- 18:08He thinks the band is his Action.
- 18:11Yep. He thinks he owns everybody and
- 18:13he keeps telling them what to do and micromanaging them, and it's
- 18:16so annoying. But him and Camilla they have a
- 18:19bit of like, a turbulent relationship because he starts
- 18:23doing little tours, and proper gigs out of town and stuff.
- 18:26And then, I don't know. Like, they just can't get it
- 18:29together. Basically, they find?
- 18:31Yeah, and one time, I'm pretty sure they broke it off a little
- 18:33bit, and he was like really missing her.
- 18:35And then they got the record contract.
- 18:37And he goes if I told you, I had a record Contract, would you be
- 18:41together or something? And then she's like, yes, yeah.
- 18:45And then she reveals that she's pregnant, and then he
- 18:48immediately has to get married to her.
- 18:50Yes. So they did it that day.
- 18:52They're from strung out and fucked up.
- 18:53And they just had some guy come over and get them married, and
- 18:57it was so funny. Yeah, at 3:00 in the morning.
- 18:59Yeah. Out of all the times.
- 19:01And then he, it's so funny because he's the one who
- 19:04initiated this to be. So rushed.
- 19:06Yeah. And then he was the one getting
- 19:07cold feet and was like, this is the worst decision I could.
- 19:10Ever make well, then don't do it.
- 19:12Idiot exactly right. And the only reason he got
- 19:15married to Camilla in that moment is because he just didn't
- 19:17want to be his dad. So it was all about his own ego
- 19:20again. Oh my God, it wasn't about like,
- 19:22oh cool, only to get married to this chick.
- 19:24He wasn't even good at it. That's what I mean.
- 19:28So they go on to us as the six and he's like immediately
- 19:32cheating on her and the the bit or the bit that pisses me off
- 19:36the first time he cheated, it seemed like he was genuinely, he
- 19:39didn't really know because Work, he was drugged fact obviously.
- 19:42Yeah, he woke up and this chick was just in his bed or whatever
- 19:46and he was actually remorseful. Yeah.
- 19:48So just don't do it again idiot? Yep.
- 19:51He only didn't even change. Well, he might not have a few.
- 19:54Who knows? If he even got it up here, they
- 19:56were both in the bath house and she was passed out on top.
- 19:59It could have just been that but instead he doubles down and she
- 20:03and just keeps changes carries him on the cheating.
- 20:06Like, you know what? I really don't like all day, all
- 20:08night. It's every day, bro.
- 20:11But like, I feel like if you cheated, that first time, when
- 20:13you felt that bad about it and you weren't even sure if he
- 20:16cheated because you were fucking unconscious at the time of yet,
- 20:18wouldn't you just not? Do it again?
- 20:21Yeah, just chill. He's like, you know what?
- 20:23I'm just going to give myself a date.
- 20:25I'm just gonna know. He didn't even do that.
- 20:27She did she gave him an ultimatum because and for that,
- 20:31she shit, oh, so yeah, he's going him there.
- 20:35Drinking doing drugs. And then he just fucks every
- 20:37groupie, right? And the thing is Camilla.
- 20:40Back home maybe sleeping the bus if he could he's out there just
- 20:45fucking exhaust pipes and shit. I think he was and so Camilla's
- 20:51like getting a bit antsy and she rocks up one day and some
- 20:55chickens giving him head just like whatever no big deal.
- 21:00Yeah it obviously happens all the time.
- 21:01She walks in on it tells the chick to walk doesn't tell but
- 21:04the chick just runs off. She reads the room.
- 21:07Someone else she's like, was this supposed to be at she's
- 21:10Like, I don't know. There's a pregnant chick in
- 21:12here, so she fucking runs off and then Camilla's just like
- 21:17you've got until the due date, get it together.
- 21:22She's one more patience than I have, and then she leaves.
- 21:25And then what is he doing? Again?
- 21:27He again just doubles down and goes.
- 21:28All right. I'll just keep cheating until
- 21:30bad date. She's like, just from changing.
- 21:34Yeah, fucking Jesus. Why does he have to put his dick
- 21:39in everything? Home, I guess like because
- 21:42they're onto us at this point, they're gaining popularity.
- 21:45So they groupies are just throwing the puss.
- 21:48Adam. Yeah.
- 21:49Doesn't that certain point where you can just be like, no,
- 21:51thanks. He loves her so much.
- 21:54Stop it. He just loves her so much.
- 21:57She is the most important thing in this world.
- 22:01So fuck someone else. What threw me through a little
- 22:08bit of what when we can I I know it's a bit head, but we can go
- 22:12back when the author is, in fact, their daughter.
- 22:15Yes. Oh my God, that made it's so
- 22:17gross later. I was like, so she's hearing all
- 22:20these stories about how disgusting, how we follow
- 22:23everything he seen. Yeah.
- 22:25Yeah. That was so casual about it.
- 22:28So, your cash, I think it's funny because he claimed to love
- 22:35Camilla's so much. He wasn't even willing to put
- 22:37one percent of effort, in know, with the drinking that The
- 22:40drugs. All the cheating.
- 22:42Here we are another book again with be single.
- 22:45When the women, give everything in the man who gives their very,
- 22:49that's the only thing I didn't like about Camilla.
- 22:51Yeah. Because it was all laid out for
- 22:54her. Yeah, she knew.
- 22:56Yeah, so their relationship pissed me off.
- 22:58I feel like she had like come to terms with it like trauma.
- 23:02Bonded to him a little, why not, trauma bonded.
- 23:05But like, he doesn't even have that great of a personality.
- 23:09That's what I mean, I'm kind of like Like I get that they liked
- 23:11each other, but when they are always long distance, what is
- 23:14like, what? Maybe that's what she liked.
- 23:16Helping their relationship in long distance.
- 23:19She's like, what? I know, a way to live your life
- 23:21than all this free time, just nowhere near him.
- 23:24But she really wanted to be a mom.
- 23:26So maybe she's just doing a Khloe Kardashian and she wanted
- 23:29the matching set. Yeah, children.
- 23:31She deserved more. So because they were going on
- 23:35band properly and he was just completely going downhill and
- 23:38everything. He missed the birth of the baby.
- 23:40Because he didn't clean himself up enough to be there.
- 23:44Yeah, he just was writing himself off every night.
- 23:46He decided he didn't want to go in there, and then she had to
- 23:50give him another, another ultimatum of being like, you're
- 23:53either going to rehab or the relationships over.
- 23:56And I'm moving with my mom to like whoopty, woo!
- 23:58She treated him like a child because she actually said, you
- 24:01have two options and then was it, Teddy or Rod or something?
- 24:05Was like, she only gave you these two options.
- 24:07You didn't give you another one. Yeah.
- 24:09Like you can't even leave the relationship.
- 24:10Tripura not if you don't get to pick this is it literally
- 24:14because she didn't she wouldn't let him leave either.
- 24:17So that was interesting as well. It's like he kind of was forced
- 24:22to just go along with the fact that they're never breaking off.
- 24:25But I don't think he ever thought about breaking up
- 24:28either. Yeah, because it was easy, she
- 24:30was providing him everything on the outside that he could that
- 24:33any like he could go guy, could want have a normal life and then
- 24:37just do whatever on the road. Yeah.
- 24:40What I think it's dumb is just fucking organized.
- 24:42Have an open relationship. Yeah, they eluded to it later
- 24:46and this pissed me off so fucking much.
- 24:49So later on he's explaining their relationship and goes, we
- 24:53just never had to talk about it, we just had an understanding.
- 24:56I'm like, I'm pretty sure Camilla didn't have an
- 24:58understanding and goes, she went on a for our dinner date with a
- 25:02guy that she dated in high school and I never ask too many
- 25:06questions about it and therefore, that means that she
- 25:09has her own personal Has come on bullshit.
- 25:12You know what she did? She probably sat in a hotel room
- 25:15in quiet because she doesn't have three kids on her.
- 25:18Yeah. And her husband is not off
- 25:20fucking on tour, she's by herself.
- 25:23She probably had a number of sub four fucking hours.
- 25:25Just relax, she probably met up with this guy and realize why
- 25:29she hates dating and then went back to her own private hotel
- 25:32room. You really think she banged this
- 25:34random guy from Highschool walk, she did whatever.
- 25:37But do you really think She Bangs this guy?
- 25:40In. She was that convinced that
- 25:43Billy was the one for her. I do not know.
- 25:45I don't think she would have slept with someone else but he
- 25:48pretended like okay. It was a cop-out him going ham
- 25:52on groupies all tours all the time.
- 25:55Yeah. He thought that was the same as
- 25:57her having one dinner with one guy.
- 25:59And he, that's why I told him about.
- 26:01He didn't tell her about the groupies all the time.
- 26:03Yeah, yeah. So I know fucking build his
- 26:07never-ending, weird thing, he had Daisy.
- 26:10I feel like it was just an excuse, so he could have that.
- 26:13Yeah, so constantly alluded in this book that he was sleeping
- 26:17with Daisy. I know it was very confused, but
- 26:20then they never slept together. Yeah, it was weird.
- 26:24So, Billy was getting worse and worse and worse, I didn't even
- 26:27know you could snort heroin fuck, I don't even do drugs,
- 26:32drugs. Don't know how to take them.
- 26:34Don't know her darn. I don't know, the only drug use
- 26:39of I've ever seen is Shameless where they put it between like
- 26:42their toes and shit like that. Yeah, that's my knowledge.
- 26:45Yeah. So when he was like snorting
- 26:47heroin was like, you can do that.
- 26:49We learn things every day. I know.
- 26:51I'm like, this is what I came to this book haul and then I guess
- 26:54because he had no choice, he then did go to rehab and then he
- 26:57kept telling himself, I'm just going to be this good husband
- 26:59and good this. And that and he always had to
- 27:02cling to that like, oh, I've just got to keep it together so
- 27:05I'm this good guys. Like, shut up Billy.
- 27:08We know what you are. You're a piece of shit.
- 27:10It just be just be the right ear piece of shit.
- 27:13That you all think that you can erase a whole year of each
- 27:19eating like multiple times a day with a 60 day trip to rehab.
- 27:27Thank fuck. You actually has Camilla though.
- 27:30She could be with any guy. She's like hot as fuck.
- 27:32She's probably too good to in be with him in the first place.
- 27:35He knows that deep down. Yeah, so when he's out plowing
- 27:38through the entire world of groupies and let's be honest
- 27:41groupies are that low line? Oh they're sweaty, they're
- 27:46gross. Yeah, there's it really worth
- 27:49now. The risk of getting someone else
- 27:51pregnant too, they could even help for your child support to.
- 27:54He probably did. Yeah, I'm surprised.
- 27:57They should have had like a groupie Scandal web, one of them
- 27:59tried to claim like, you know, as he gets more famous, it's got
- 28:03money jerk. And he was like using condoms.
- 28:06No. Because he was true, it was
- 28:08fucked up all the time. Yeah.
- 28:09Yeah. I don't think so.
- 28:10He could have a million babies out there.
- 28:12I'm surprised he sperm even works.
- 28:14Maybe it didn't. That's why he didn't have any
- 28:16babies. Yeah.
- 28:17The awkward part. So Karen who's the keyboard
- 28:20player? Billy put her in such an awkward
- 28:22position because she's friends with Camilla.
- 28:24Yeah, she knew that he's cheating all over the place.
- 28:27Yeah and then she Lo he couldn't tell us straight up and confirm
- 28:31it so she was glad when she walked in.
- 28:35Yeah, in a normal situation I would tell you if I thought
- 28:39someone was cheating on you but you better fucking hope so yeah.
- 28:42Yeah. In a situation where it's it's
- 28:45your band made this kind of imagine how pissed he would be
- 28:50to. Yeah.
- 28:52And you don't like she doesn't show their relationship that
- 28:55well at that stage. Like, I don't think her and
- 28:57Camilla were best buddies know like, well later.
- 29:00But I mean, Billy Billy, Billy. They should be like Billy hate,
- 29:06just I hate, the Glee Club. Yeah, Billy socks.
- 29:10Apparently, he had so much Charisma on the stage but his
- 29:14real personality was awful. Like he's a good singer, he's
- 29:18good. Like a good rock star but he's
- 29:19just not convincing me. This is just what the book was
- 29:23telling me. I wasn't even convinced.
- 29:25I was like But I don't know. I think just break up with her
- 29:29fucking dumbass dummies. Everyone was so angry with him
- 29:35all the time too. Yeah.
- 29:36Because he's a control freak. He tried to take over every
- 29:40decision of the band. Hmm.
- 29:42So I kind of get it. But you know, what's funny?
- 29:44Because the whole Billy and Daisy Feud was long term.
- 29:49Yeah. But fucking Eddie was more angry
- 29:51at him all the time. I know where was where's and
- 29:54he's Justice. Where's the Rolling Stone?
- 29:56Article about how much Eddie fucking hates billion which is
- 29:59hated him from day one, but was the best and Eddie was only
- 30:04brought on so that he could do more guitar work.
- 30:07So Billy could focus on the lyrics and everything but Billy
- 30:11still fucking over. Does everything micromanaging
- 30:13everyone. Yeah.
- 30:15So Eddie from day dot was like fuck, this guy, she's here, he
- 30:19hates great, it was refreshing from everyone being off.
- 30:23He's asshole. It's so cool. 7 I know.
- 30:25So by this time I'm Daisy was still writing her own music and
- 30:29her debut album was good. It was getting good reviews.
- 30:33So she was getting a kind of name out there and then because
- 30:36they have the same manager, he suggested Daisy on one track
- 30:40that Billy wrote and it was freaking song about Camilla.
- 30:43Of course, all of his songs are about Camila, he's got to make
- 30:46up. He's got a lot of work to do so,
- 30:50there's a song honeycomb. Yeah, and it's about Camilla,
- 30:53and them and their future and they're going to live out
- 30:55amongst the honeycomb or Something like that.
- 30:57So it was like a nice romantic. Yeah.
- 31:00So Daisy comes onto it and she's in the recording booth and then
- 31:04she changed his lyrics which is like, oh, the number one thing
- 31:07you don't want to do to Billy. Yeah.
- 31:08And she made it more insecure and she was questioning him if
- 31:12she can like trust him kind of thing.
- 31:14No I only think he was mad about that because that's how Camille
- 31:18yeah should feel. Yeah.
- 31:20And he was mad about it because it wasn't conforming to what he
- 31:23wanted. Yeah it's not perfect little
- 31:26bubble here. He's in perfect little wifey.
- 31:28Holding it all down and not giving a fuck.
- 31:30Yeah, so he was all like he was raging about it but it came out
- 31:34better. One thing about Billy has
- 31:36eventually, he would turn around to what was better for the song.
- 31:40And I know, but it just took a long time to get that after
- 31:43being a prick about it. So I know just be on your own in
- 31:46your own bed idiot. He has no teamwork whatsoever.
- 31:50No. But at least Teddy would try and
- 31:53like rein him in yet at times. Yeah.
- 31:56So that was good. So that song started getting
- 31:58really popular but Billy was still being a dick about it
- 32:01because they went on like a mini tour and he wasn't like inviting
- 32:04Daisy on the tour but it's like she's on the main fucking single
- 32:07idiot. She's on the only song anyone
- 32:10wants to leave and then so they're just out doing a public
- 32:14gig and she's there. Of course Barefoot.
- 32:16Yeah. She's Loki stalking them because
- 32:18she knew that they were going to be singing it which is fair
- 32:20enough. Imagine not getting booked for
- 32:22the song that you're singing on. Yeah.
- 32:24That's just embarrassing. So the only reason In.
- 32:26He asked her to come up and sing was because it would look bad if
- 32:29he didn't. I know, it's got to be perfect
- 32:32for everyone. I think that's why Eddie hated
- 32:34him the most. Yeah, because he's such a
- 32:36narcissist and he's just faking front of all the fans.
- 32:39Yeah. So he invited his like orders.
- 32:41Everyone to see, Daisy singing the song and it was like high
- 32:44school. Eyes are rolling back in his
- 32:46head. Then she runs on the stage
- 32:49Barefoot, just like you doing a Willy's run and then they smash
- 32:56out the song. It goes really well again and
- 32:59then because Ted he's just like oh my God, we have to get this.
- 33:04We have to get Daisy on. Yep.
- 33:06The song like on the tour and everything.
- 33:08Like when we do gigs and she still funded with the change
- 33:11lyrics, she's like I'm sure Uncle Billy.
- 33:14She was the only one to ever put him in his place properly and
- 33:16people would follow behind like the band would follow behind.
- 33:19Yeah, and I think just because she's so stubborn to the both
- 33:23the same person the both narcissistic vortex Has that
- 33:27would suck everyone else into their life problems depression.
- 33:31But that's why this, so the same but that's why they also hate
- 33:33each other. Mmm, so kind of makes sense.
- 33:36Isn't it funny how they did that at one of those rolling stone
- 33:39interviews? And they guy was talking about
- 33:42how she just would take loose pills out of a bucket and I have
- 33:45Michael lint on them. Yes, that's disgusting.
- 33:49Good pills. Amazing happen and even in my
- 33:53pocket absolutely, I don't even put my far in my Pocket.
- 33:57I know. That's so disgusting.
- 33:59An idea came up of Daisy. Actually, joining the band and
- 34:04putting together an album because they were thinking,
- 34:07maybe it would be good for the album, I guess.
- 34:09Hmm. Billy hated that idea.
- 34:11Obviously, of course, we gonna have to avoid know, and they
- 34:16both kind of lead singers. Yeah, so that both might have to
- 34:20be both singing. I think she had about two songs
- 34:24on there where it was just her though.
- 34:26That's because by Then he was being loving us that he is in
- 34:29love with her. Yeah, pretty much.
- 34:31So they organized a deal that she was gonna jump on the next
- 34:35album. Yeah.
- 34:36And they were all going to collaborate together for this
- 34:38album but because Billy and Daisy are both songwriters.
- 34:42They were going to have to work together alone a lot of the
- 34:44time. Yes.
- 34:45And the rest of the band would like to thank fuck days.
- 34:47He's here to keep Billy busy. Keep it over.
- 34:49We can work on our own shit. Yeah.
- 34:51Like we can do our drums, we can do a guitar and we can do our
- 34:53fucking keyboard shit without Billy jumping or A heart.
- 34:57So that was so excited. Yeah, and they also like, yes
- 35:00dip days. He's pissing him off so much
- 35:02that he's not noticing the things that they want to bitch
- 35:04about as much, so they loved it. Straight away, Billy rejected,
- 35:09all her ideas, who was like, fuck these ideas, she had a
- 35:12notebook and he was just like, yeah, I don't think we're gonna
- 35:14use it, and, but he did it. She did the same.
- 35:16She's like, Fuck Your Ideas. I don't want to think about your
- 35:19girlfriend and literally, yeah, well his wife, yeah, he's like
- 35:24it's supposed to be rock and roll.
- 35:26All you want to do is sing about your wife and how sorry you are
- 35:29that you cheated for a million years which is like true.
- 35:32It's so funny because every now and then he'd be like it's not
- 35:36rock and roll enough and it's like it's It's you.
- 35:38You're the problem. I can Ed Sheeran over.
- 35:41He's like, can we fuck off? It's not exactly like I can
- 35:46Motley Crue. He's so pop star of the group.
- 35:49If you'd if you're he's the Justin Timberlake is the group
- 35:53hug like stop Billy. Well, to be fair, he kept trying
- 35:57to say, yeah, but love songs are great way to disguise.
- 36:00What you really want to talk about.
- 36:02It's like okay, like what rock and roll everyone therapist, you
- 36:06Bernard And was it Eddie that was always like we want to make
- 36:10a fucking rock and roll albums just getting so pissed.
- 36:14He's like I don't want to be a pop star and by this time I'm
- 36:17pretty sure Camilla was either pregnant or had had twins.
- 36:20So now, yeah, they've got three girls.
- 36:22Yeah. So these are like little kids
- 36:25toddlers that shows dragging everywhere and she would take
- 36:29them onto your and shit like, dude.
- 36:31Yeah, she is stronger than I, I wouldn't know.
- 36:34I can't imagine. So it took so long for Billy to
- 36:38even warm up to some about her ideas.
- 36:40And one day, she wrote all over one of his songs.
- 36:43Yeah. And he kind of liked it.
- 36:45Yeah. He and then he was sort of
- 36:48admitting that she was for whatever reason, a bit of a
- 36:50musical, genius a little bit. If she though, I don't think she
- 36:55is. She's like, I don't think either
- 36:58of us know that they have the songs in the back.
- 37:01Oh, I haven't read the songs in the back.
- 37:04I was gonna watch some clips on Tube from the show, maybe to see
- 37:08ya because they, when they describe all these songs, they
- 37:11were like, oh my God, they're so lay it in there, so deep and
- 37:13meaningful. And whenever I read her lyrics,
- 37:15I was like, really yeah, I've got me up, he's I've got my
- 37:18dealings of the Coolidge, my champagne English, it out, you
- 37:22know, I don't know. He's not, you know, what's
- 37:28really fucking stupid? Yeah, just realized the only
- 37:32time he gained the tiniest iota of respect is because when they
- 37:35were in the car, And they heard that song in the radio which was
- 37:38from her ex you happen to be a rock star.
- 37:40Yeah. And then she said that was my
- 37:42dear and the only reason why he respected her a smidge with
- 37:46because it was in a guy song that he respected already the
- 37:49misogyny, the massage later everyone dose.
- 37:53She could have been lying though, that's what I mean and
- 37:55he was just like, okay I'll actually listen to your
- 37:58brilliant, your words speaks from now on, I'm gonna listen to
- 38:02the things coming at your word hole.
- 38:06The funny thing is he thought she was hot but he also thought
- 38:09she was a hot mess. Yeah, but he loved it, but he
- 38:12resisted her because he knew that she was going to take him
- 38:15down. You know, how there's certain
- 38:17people in life where you're like, oh he had that element to
- 38:21him as well. Yeah.
- 38:22Like she had the external hotness, but he knew that like
- 38:26dating someone like that would have been a complete like it's
- 38:30Josh. Oh, yeah.
- 38:31And he knew he couldn't hold it together for someone.
- 38:33If he was dating someone like her, you're both going down.
- 38:36Oh yeah, hundred percent. There's no way.
- 38:38No. Like, you'd have to be at the
- 38:40worst of your drug use and everything to even tolerate her
- 38:42career. And her husband, it would not
- 38:44might be much different. Literally, they were working on
- 38:47the album. It was going good.
- 38:50It's going great. And so, Karen and gray, and
- 38:53start hooking up. Yeah, at some point, it might
- 38:55have been a little bit before this but the thing is, she
- 38:58didn't want to tell anyone and he didn't mind telling people,
- 39:01but she was just like, I don't want to tell anyone.
- 39:03Yeah, there's only so long you can do that girl.
- 39:07I'm really offer. It's not horrible for him.
- 39:10Yeah. Loki that's his own fault.
- 39:12That is his own fault. I've got sympathy for her if she
- 39:19liked it then she should have put a ring on it.
- 39:20Yep. Snaps Graham.
- 39:22We get with it. He doesn't know what he's doing.
- 39:25He needs to go. Read some of those like books.
- 39:28But if he had a single conversation with her, he would
- 39:30know that I know. Yeah.
- 39:32He did not Safeguard his heart. No, you just He's worried on his
- 39:39idiot. It's like, tell me it's like,
- 39:42you know, you're gonna get played, but you still do it
- 39:44like, okay, come along great and Camilla one of the sensation of
- 39:49being together, people and good wheel of a bland couple.
- 39:54Well, he could have been the Step Daddy to his own niece
- 39:58named would assign a difference nieces.
- 40:00Yeah, yeah. Well, you don't know the
- 40:03difference like, how come uncle is now Daddy?
- 40:06Initially, I would have thought the faculty like similar to
- 40:10that. It's fun.
- 40:11Yeah, that would have been a bit of a scandal that would have
- 40:15made it spicier like Graham truck and sweep in and take
- 40:18Camille's. Do not exist in this book.
- 40:20Oh, come on. They should have run him.
- 40:23Something else. Something was missing.
- 40:25It means everything. It was black sorry, just like I
- 40:28hate it. Okay.
- 40:30So the bit that was I didn't find believable was Daisy and
- 40:34Billy slowly gaining Things simply testing more like shut
- 40:38up. That was a proximity thing.
- 40:40Yeah, and they must have just wanted to bone but every night
- 40:43he was going home and with Camilla anyway.
- 40:46Yeah it wasn't even long distance at that stage.
- 40:48I had a house there were living together and because they were
- 40:51recording, they could just go to this recording place and then
- 40:53go, I can't think of anything gross than being with a hot mess
- 40:58girl, every day. Yeah.
- 41:00And fighting, I'm surprised. They didn't want to kill each
- 41:04other. I know.
- 41:06Around this time there was a reporter because the album is
- 41:09coming together. So in a lie and it was nearly
- 41:11release time and a reporter comes and interview.
- 41:14Some again to get this big article going in the got a big
- 41:17photo shoot and everything. Yeah and then Daisy was all
- 41:21fucked up when she did the entire and then she gave away.
- 41:24That Billy was all kinds of fucked her had to go to rehab
- 41:27was a ho. Yeah, because she was in just a
- 41:30pissy mood. That.
- 41:31Yeah, because he rejected her, that's how he's really had a.
- 41:34Why do I know He's finally doing this shit, he should I know her.
- 41:39And then also Daisy, what do you expect?
- 41:42Dumb bitch, dumb, bitch. She just wanted the ego trip
- 41:46though. Yeah, she never really wanted to
- 41:48date. Billy know why they probably
- 41:52would have had sex one or two times and then never talk to
- 41:54each other. What a totally fizzled out.
- 41:56Yeah. Do you consider this story
- 41:58enemies to lovers? No, because they weren't lovers
- 42:01enough dickheads to dig in a straight line.
- 42:06Straight lies because I'm both like they just were the exact
- 42:11same person. That's so true.
- 42:13So the interviewer came and he's like, okay, so he goes to Billy.
- 42:17He's like so Daisy told me and out all your dirty laundry.
- 42:20So you're going to have to give me something better to print
- 42:22them that otherwise I'm going to have to just roll with that.
- 42:25Yes, my edit is going to be pissed if I don't have something
- 42:28juicy. Yeah.
- 42:28Juicy for the story and then Bill he's like well how about
- 42:33you print how much of a fucking bratty bitch days?
- 42:36She is and how much I hate her every moment of every day Z and
- 42:39then she's like shit that will do that will do.
- 42:41He's like that's better and then they manipulated the photos to
- 42:46look like they were and kind of like hating each other but not
- 42:50and then everyone sort of speculated that they were
- 42:52together and that's why they pretending to each other.
- 42:54It was so wild. And the rest of the band was
- 42:56like, for fuck's sake, we hate them all, can we get any
- 43:01attention over here? The fucking photos that
- 43:03practically cropped out of all the photos too?
- 43:06How pissed would you be? They put in all the work.
- 43:09Yeah, they're getting all of the credit but then they remixed
- 43:12everything. Yeah, and remixed all of the
- 43:14work that the band members did out.
- 43:16Yeah. At that point I just be like,
- 43:17bye, bye, Rage, Quit, get your own little house.
- 43:21Band, doesn't play on stage with you anymore.
- 43:25That the album release was good. Yeah, so that was super popular
- 43:29and Daisy was getting more fans of her own because she was kind
- 43:32of like the lead. Yeah, they ended up calling it.
- 43:35Daisy jonesing. The six.
- 43:36Yeah, which is hilarious because, you know, Billy would
- 43:39have been up and I just sweating about other staring at the wall,
- 43:44but claiming he wants to be just a normal Dad.
- 43:46Yeah, yeah. Like a good husband, normal that
- 43:49album's release. It's going well, and they can
- 43:51finally have a break. So Daisy just fucks off to
- 43:54Thailand because she was rejected by Billy her ego.
- 43:56Can't take it. And she's like, I had to just
- 43:58get as far away from him as possible, and she's fucked up
- 44:01every day in Thailand, she gets get spoiled us.
- 44:04But do you know how bad that would be?
- 44:05If she got caught? She must have really been Rich.
- 44:08Yeah. Because if you get caught over
- 44:09that, you're going to judge you Giles, it's probably different.
- 44:13If you're a movie star or a riser, don't think it's
- 44:16different? No, I mean, you've got enough
- 44:18Handler, someone will take the pills if you're caught there
- 44:21with like the amount of drugs that she has.
- 44:23I'm sure they'll be ways to pay people off.
- 44:25Yeah, and so she meets this guy, this Italian Prince called
- 44:29Nikki. Just at the pool, why?
- 44:31I like at the hotel. Yeah.
- 44:32What is this man doing? I do not.
- 44:36Stay at him. He's an influencer before
- 44:38influences. He was a prince with no money.
- 44:41Like one of the band members said, as soon as they met him
- 44:43there like, oh, he's a scammer. Yeah, so he's one of those guys
- 44:46on 90 day. Fiancé, who's just looking for
- 44:48some weighty and he's just like, yeah, I just I'm just an
- 44:52adventurer that means he's unemployed.
- 44:54Yes. And who knows how, even though
- 44:57on the Run? He's totally that guy.
- 45:00The tender swindler probably. It's just in the 70s version.
- 45:05No, no. But he's hot enough so she's
- 45:07like chatting to him. It's he horror she high but
- 45:11that's the real question. He's noises probably falling off
- 45:15but they ran a drug seems doing. There is bad as each other, but
- 45:19they have a whirlwind romance and then they got married
- 45:23straight away. I don't like them, it's very
- 45:25Evelyn. Hugo of you.
- 45:26Oh my God, I was like teleported to that book, but I stopped it.
- 45:30All right. Okay.
- 45:32And only later did Daisy realize that she was bankrolling.
- 45:35Everything. Come on.
- 45:36Yeah. How do you not realize that
- 45:37until later like this man doctor should have a bank account?
- 45:40She's higher the time, he the things like feeding it to where
- 45:44he's a Yes Man. And that's what you don't want,
- 45:47an apartment. No, I think he fishes giving her
- 45:49so many drugs that she didn't realize that he was the scammer.
- 45:53Yeah. Do you know how much of a big
- 45:54school that is for him? He just goes to Thailand
- 45:57randomly, y'all meet up with this person who's a rock star
- 46:00and gets to go home and live the VIP rock star life.
- 46:03Yeah, I'm not home but to her home doesn't have to pay for Any
- 46:06of these drugs, food living so good?
- 46:09Yeah, she was just like, I'm so glad someone understands me but
- 46:12days is the type of person where she's just Ram like drug
- 46:15rambling to you at 2 a.m. and then she thinks that you're
- 46:18connected. Now, the only thing she wants
- 46:22people to understand is her doing drugs.
- 46:24So I know any thought in that was the understanding that they
- 46:28have both doing drugs and no one would tell her off, she
- 46:31steamrolls everyone anyway. So she just needs someone
- 46:34compliant and off to put up with her.
- 46:35Yeah. Ow and to rock up and still be
- 46:37there in the morning. That's all that she needed at
- 46:40that time. Yeah.
- 46:41Only later did she realize like I probably want someone who
- 46:44actually cares about my well-being as person to Tom.
- 46:49So fun. It's almost like Simone has been
- 46:51traveling around the country. Try to catch her.
- 46:54That was so bad. I felt so bad.
- 46:56I was like just leave her. She went all the way to Thailand
- 46:59to meet up with her. They're the worst time in years.
- 47:01Yeah, and then she was never fucking there.
- 47:04I will see you later. Never talk to her again.
- 47:07Know that was such a one-sided friendship.
- 47:09By this time, Graham and Karen were having problems.
- 47:13Yeah, it was just great and wanted a lot more and Karen just
- 47:17wanted to live. My theory is she wanted to be a
- 47:20woman? Obviously she didn't want to be
- 47:22a man, but she wanted the man's Rock style Dal.
- 47:25Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:26And that's what she wanted. Yeah, that's it.
- 47:28Which is fair because remember she was like she stopped wearing
- 47:32dresses and that she will like turtlenecks and jeans.
- 47:35Look as she did want to be sick. Realized.
- 47:36Yeah. But she just wanted children
- 47:39wanted to be a musician. That's all it was.
- 47:41She was just one of the career she wanted and then she wanted
- 47:44to retire and do fucking nothing.
- 47:46Yeah, it's fair goals. That is goals.
- 47:49And the funny thing is just because she was pregnant, Graham
- 47:52thought that that was enough, that she should just quit
- 47:55everything and become barefoot and pregnant and give up her
- 47:58career. But she made some good points.
- 48:00She was like why that if you want to?
- 48:01Why don't you stay home? Yeah.
- 48:03And he was like no he didn't even know.
- 48:05That was an option. Not like nah.
- 48:08And he goes, we can just replace you in the band and she was
- 48:10like, I fucking worked to get this spot until he's always
- 48:13fucking editing me out. Like, you imagined must be nice
- 48:17to be the brother of Billy and not get edited out.
- 48:20I'll do anything. Oh my God, and he took it so
- 48:23personal when she said, she'd never wanted to be a mom, just
- 48:26respected idiot. She's wanting us to do it
- 48:29because he's acting as if she can just pop it out and then
- 48:32just fuck off. Yeah, but he was always jealous
- 48:35of what Billy had. With Camilla.
- 48:37So that's the type of woman he wanted someone who's not going
- 48:39to question him and someone who's just going to pop out the
- 48:41babies and rock up to the Torah and Baba.
- 48:44It's almost like he sure is got with Canola.
- 48:48Yeah but Camilla's the type of girl who wasn't going to go for
- 48:51the second runner-up in the band, she had to have the lead
- 48:55singer for being kind of thing and she was super possessive
- 48:58over him. No matter what it took she
- 49:01didn't care if he was banging underage.
- 49:02Groupies that's foul what a foul me.
- 49:06And Karen and Graeme obviously kind of had to split up after
- 49:09that because she had to get an abortion and he just was like I
- 49:12thought we had more time dude you get an abortion you don't
- 49:16know unlimited time. I've had like two week window my
- 49:18friend so blase because he was like all people change their
- 49:22mind about things all the time. Pretty sure she lived her entire
- 49:25life knowing she didn't want to be a mom.
- 49:27Yes. Q Zu G.
- 49:29You can be changed your mind. I know honey, I don't know he
- 49:34pissed me off. Yeah, his brother.
- 49:36As with Billy. So what can you really expect?
- 49:38Same Vibe, Billy's lucky that he had Camila.
- 49:41Camila was good. She's good friend to cairn
- 49:43terrier because she went in there and she didn't make her
- 49:45feel bad or yeah. Yep.
- 49:48Because even that was a little bit in there and Karen was like
- 49:51oh I'm just trying to she's like I think I've just flip-flopping
- 49:55so I everyone else doesn't feel bad and Camilla was like don't
- 49:59do that. Yeah I don't feel bad.
- 50:02Yeah. So at this point Billy's kind of
- 50:05because he's Realizing he has feelings the daisy, which is
- 50:09just such as part of this whole book.
- 50:11I know I was, I was getting angry.
- 50:13Yeah. And then he was just about to
- 50:15have a drink. So he was grappling with his
- 50:18sobriety and whose wigging out about that but also Graham was
- 50:22in the worst of the worst because he just had this big
- 50:23fall out with Karen and he needed someone to talk to about
- 50:26this abortion and all this shit goes up to Billy for five
- 50:30fucking minutes. Billy can't give him the time of
- 50:33day, it's Billy's, well, and that's it.
- 50:36I've never been more pistol, Billy.
- 50:37And that's saying something because I like you fucking mind
- 50:40you that you made everyone deal with your bullshit, four months
- 50:44him all the time. He ended tours hourly.
- 50:47Yeah. Fucking every people had to save
- 50:49his life multiple times. Yeah.
- 50:51And he can't give his brother five minutes of the day.
- 50:54No. And even Graham was like, you
- 50:56can't give me five minutes of time.
- 50:58No, he doesn't Billy deserves nothing but so mad to be dumped
- 51:03in the middle of the ocean. Yeah, and this was the starting
- 51:09point for everyone. Hmm, everyone was done.
- 51:12Yeah, but they had been on tour. Hey like they had started the
- 51:16tool for the new album and everyone was liking.
- 51:19Yeah, the door but they they gotten to a point where they'd
- 51:22have this one particular show and all the wheels fell off
- 51:25because Karen and Graham were breaking off and fighting.
- 51:28Yeah, fucking Daisy was spiraling out of control because
- 51:31she was so in love. I think she really just was
- 51:34addicted to him. Yeah, because she seems like,
- 51:37I'm just so in love, I've never been that in love with the
- 51:40person that I'm like, ready to ruin his marriage.
- 51:43No, there was just an ego trip. Yeah.
- 51:45Because she divorced Nikki. Yeah.
- 51:49So, her ego was all bruised. Again.
- 51:51Yeah. And she thought the only way
- 51:52she's going to fix it instead of trying win Billy.
- 51:55Yeah. Actually, the one of the only
- 51:57Parts I really liked of this book, was Camilla having a go at
- 52:01Daisy? And she's like, she's like, if
- 52:04anyone's not going to win it, You do students cheat and that's
- 52:08like it were being stubborn too. But also she was like, it's not
- 52:11going to be me. It's not going to be Billy.
- 52:13It's going to be, that's not going to win.
- 52:14And then that was it. Oh, that was iconic.
- 52:17That was the best part. How was Camilla not part of the
- 52:20band? But she was the most pivotal
- 52:22character in the phone book because like she came out of the
- 52:25ashes, I reckon, because I'm lost respect for Camilla.
- 52:28But then at the end, I was like, yeah, like she fucking did, they
- 52:31decided what she wanted? She was not going to let him
- 52:35walk. Dave, take it away from
- 52:37strung-out ass bitch. Take action.
- 52:40You're having this conversation and days like twitchin sweating
- 52:45blackfeet and she's like, you're not going to win against me like
- 52:50look at me being a hot mum. Yeah that was so good.
- 52:54Yeah, she's like I smell good all the time.
- 52:56He's talked about it but it's just dumb that Billy was even
- 53:00considering throwing his whole life away.
- 53:02I don't want I don't even think he liked days.
- 53:05See, I know they keep saying that.
- 53:06I think he liked the idea the to him.
- 53:10Daisy was the alcohol partying. Not was it?
- 53:13It wasn't he loved Daisy and what she was the best person
- 53:16ever. Yeah it was him copping out of
- 53:18his wife and kids. His good-guy routine.
- 53:22Yeah it's him. Yeah literally Breaking Free he
- 53:25wasn't even that Lusty about her.
- 53:26It was about the emotional cheating literally was and the
- 53:30only time he ever thought about actually cheating with Daisy is
- 53:34when he wanted. Yep.
- 53:36He like tried to alcohol to a daisy.
- 53:39Yeah. And then she came to him one
- 53:42night in his hotel room but she wanted help going a rehab.
- 53:45Yeah, she was like fucked up but she was kind of trying to hook
- 53:48up with him too. So I was like, girl starts
- 53:51really? The only reason she was there.
- 53:53Yeah. He was having to go to rehab
- 53:54because she did it. But the problem is he didn't, he
- 53:58couldn't help her because then he was grieving because Teddy
- 54:01died of a heart attack, I don't know.
- 54:02Yeah, yeah. I knew that some fucking person
- 54:05would die. Billy was all withdrawn and he
- 54:07was freaking out about his sobriety basically.
- 54:10And then he was like, well, I couldn't have helped easy anyway
- 54:12because I was grieving and shit, but then Daisy was also like,
- 54:15everyone must be there for me to shine.
- 54:19Those just such bad timing and then this is when because
- 54:23Camilla knew something was going on between Daisy and Billy.
- 54:26Yeah, she had hints and she had like an intuition about it and
- 54:28that's when she just came to her and was like, she just clocked
- 54:31her, it was like mess around and find out that's literally what
- 54:35she She was basically like even if you do cheat with him, I'm
- 54:41still going to be here. Anyways, she said what yeah
- 54:43she's like I'm gonna no matter what he's going to be at my
- 54:47house and I'm still gonna have his kids.
- 54:49I'm going to have the home and you're just going to be the
- 54:51strung out bitch. Yeah.
- 54:52You're just going to still lose. Yeah.
- 54:55So it was so good. It was so good.
- 54:57It's the only part I really liked and she wasn't even mad
- 55:01about it. No.
- 55:02She was just confident with that.
- 55:03She's like you're still going to be the loser.
- 55:06Yeah, Camilla doesn't lose. No, she doesn't love you.
- 55:09And she doesn't need the fame. So days is kind of like, oh,
- 55:11shit. Because technically days, he's
- 55:13going to be more famous and powerful than her.
- 55:15But Camille is the one being like, no, I'm going to have the
- 55:18life that you pretend that you want to stand for me.
- 55:20Yeah. Daisy's never going to move into
- 55:22fucking Billy's mansion and have the kids and blah blah.
- 55:25Blah de days. He could very like let's be
- 55:28honest because she's a woman, she's very easily lose her
- 55:31entire career. If there was an article that I
- 55:34was like Daisy Jones Ruining my home wrecker to.
- 55:38Yeah. Lauren her three kids.
- 55:39Exactly. Yeah.
- 55:41Like you would have been fucked. Yeah, there's no good end for
- 55:43her and she basically did need to go to rehab or she's going to
- 55:47die anyway. So Camilla was given you a good
- 55:49advice. She was kind of, like, you need
- 55:51to quit the band. Yeah, I fucking live.
- 55:53She didn't give her a choice either.
- 55:54No, no choices from her. She had that way of swooping
- 55:58into people's lives and telling them exactly what to do.
- 56:00Yeah. And she had no, she's like,
- 56:02never apologetic. No, she like, this is what you
- 56:05have to do. She did it to fucking Graham.
- 56:08She did it to Karen. She did this to Daisy.
- 56:10He obviously did it to Billy. She did it when they tried to
- 56:12have fucking Burgers. One day.
- 56:14Yeah. Imagine living a lie for you
- 56:16force everyone. So you can have what you want.
- 56:20That is brilliant. Just quietly steamrolling.
- 56:22Yep. So she effectively ended the
- 56:25band herself. No I think it was going to be
- 56:28done anyway and if ya just ended up being Daisy and Billy.
- 56:32Yes he is, it Pete. He Out, Eddie wouldn't have
- 56:38stayed if his brother didn't stay, and then there was just
- 56:40one, I don't even remember morons.
- 56:44I don't even know what words doing and then you had Karen's.
- 56:47I didn't want to be there because G it.
- 56:49Yeah, it was totally done. It was already toast, I guess,
- 56:54Daisy, come around and realize. I probably would be better going
- 56:56to rehab some dying because Camilla gave her a bit of hope.
- 56:59She's like bitch you're young, you can still fucking have kids.
- 57:02It's not that hard and you can find this 7 billion people in
- 57:05the world. She could have dated anybody
- 57:07just? Not my husband, literally she's
- 57:10so like Daisy could have dated anybody?
- 57:12She's so in her own little. Yeah, she just cuz you know, her
- 57:17and Billy just would have been on drugs all the time.
- 57:19Yeah, ranking all the time. Yeah.
- 57:21And would have both died. Yeah.
- 57:22By 30. But that's why he never picked
- 57:24her because he already knew how it was going to go.
- 57:27So they all Branch off and do different things and we find out
- 57:30that the reporter is in fact Julia, which is obviously
- 57:33billion CD daughter. And I was like that added
- 57:35nothing to the No, that isn't really a true standout.
- 57:39But yes, baby grossed out too. I was like, cool.
- 57:42That was on the side a little chapter that then is then.
- 57:45And now it's the only chapter I want.
- 57:48Hmm. And it was it was just them
- 57:51being like Oh once like I do real estate now.
- 57:54What was like I've got to turf company Karen's living her best
- 57:58life. She was, she played for another
- 58:0020 years and then she went and lived in the mountains.
- 58:03Like that's all she wanted to do and he became I'm a Producer
- 58:06instead which was a lot better. He's like I should have done
- 58:09this ages ago. I shouldn't uh years ago and
- 58:12then Daisy grew up in managed to adopt kids two boys.
- 58:16You started Foundation or something.
- 58:18Yeah. Billy became like a pop writer,
- 58:21right? Yeah.
- 58:21He would just write his worst nightmare.
- 58:23My worst nightmare. So he has to just admit that
- 58:26that's all he was. He was a pop right on.
- 58:28Yeah, it's hoarsely. It's like he could have been
- 58:32doing that from the beginning, if he but, but anyway, it's so
- 58:35funny because Technically it was one album and 1/2, a really, but
- 58:40them together. It was one album only together,
- 58:43Aurora, that's it. Yes, it Daisy Jones.
- 58:46And the six collectively, it was only that one album and they
- 58:49couldn't even finish the fucking tour because of all the drama.
- 58:52So that's how did like iconic. Yeah, it is went out and fucked
- 58:57it all. Fucked it all made, everyone
- 59:00know who they were and then just disappear.
- 59:02Like, bye-bye Tree on our roll over.
- 59:06Again, and then we find out the Camilla died.
- 59:08Five years before this publication gets put together by
- 59:11her daughter. She died from lupus at the age
- 59:14of like, 63 or something if I can't and then Billy's all just
- 59:18sad and stuff and then Camilla left a letter for Julia.
- 59:22And the girls that said, give your dad Billy some time and
- 59:25then give him daisies phone number.
- 59:27So he can reconnect with her and make a song for Camila.
- 59:30Do you think Daisy after all this time?
- 59:32Once you add one more fucking, sorry about Camilla.
- 59:36Three albums. Uh, imagine might do you think
- 59:41she was giving them permission? Yes-huh giving him permission to
- 59:45have like a life together? Yeah, she's like it days.
- 59:48He's not going to be sexy anymore.
- 59:50Nothing imagine being nagged from the grave, hmm.
- 59:55To write another song about Camilla.
- 59:57You can't say he's gonna be like a kidding me bitch.
- 1:00:00I don't write songs anymore and she's sick of right, sides of
- 1:00:03back Camila. But why would they, You want to
- 1:00:06be with Billy? Now, I don't think they have
- 1:00:08enough, it was only because the proximity that they would ya.
- 1:00:11Even anything? He's angry rock stars that were
- 1:00:14writing pop songs together. I'm kind of glad that they never
- 1:00:18hooked up. Yeah.
- 1:00:20But it was alluded to and it really annoyed me.
- 1:00:22Ya know, because they allude to it and not tell us no, but they
- 1:00:26would allude to it and then Billy at the end was like, oh,
- 1:00:29we never hooked up. I stayed faithful to my but I'm
- 1:00:32like, are you just saying this because it's your daughter.
- 1:00:35Yeah. That's what I'm thinking.
- 1:00:37I'm thinking they're clearly something happened.
- 1:00:40Otherwise, I'm gonna blow something a bit more.
- 1:00:42Yeah, of course. I'm just staring at each other
- 1:00:45on stage. I know, there's no way that she
- 1:00:48went off to fucking Thailand. No, for no reason.
- 1:00:51Thailand is where you go. When you're having a fucking
- 1:00:53life crisis like why would ya tenshi Revenge married?
- 1:00:58Someone, come on, come on, something happened.
- 1:01:00Something happened. More than a kiss or a hawk um,
- 1:01:03almost kiss. What are they 12?
- 1:01:05He just didn't want. Admit it because he's a family,
- 1:01:08man. I decided then and there that I
- 1:01:10would taking it to the Grave. Yeah, I think he just realized
- 1:01:13he didn't want to pack in his family for her.
- 1:01:15He's like, oh yep, not worth it. My family is actually better.
- 1:01:19Could you imagine being the daughter?
- 1:01:23Interviewing all these people. And there she was telling you
- 1:01:26about the couple of times that he thought that Daisy was more
- 1:01:29worth it. Then I know your mum, your mum
- 1:01:32and you as a child exactly foul I think, because in the book,
- 1:01:38they had bits where people lied, remember that manager who lied
- 1:01:41and said he never had a personal relationship with Daisy and I
- 1:01:45was sleeping together the halftime.
- 1:01:47Yeah, so they're all lies in the book.
- 1:01:49So I feel like Billy and Daisy, just didn't admit that anything.
- 1:01:53I record it out because there's one bit where when he was
- 1:01:56getting married. And he was like, she was wearing
- 1:01:58a white white top and like jeans and then and being said she was
- 1:02:02wearing like a yellow top and I'm like so you weren't Paying
- 1:02:06attention to your own wife. Well, it was literally decades
- 1:02:10before. Oh my God.
- 1:02:11So I had a lot of alone time together and no story, but
- 1:02:18that's alright. Pissed me off about the book.
- 1:02:20Give us the juicy. Hey, Lucy.
- 1:02:21It really was nice. Not a story.
- 1:02:24Yeah, something happened. All that rehab night.
- 1:02:27That she went to his hotel room at least because he was in his
- 1:02:30underwear to at least something happened that night.
- 1:02:33Come on. You can't tell me.
- 1:02:35Otherwise, Don't know. I like this story.
- 1:02:38It wasn't as much of a roller coaster.
- 1:02:39Is it shouldn't mean you do that?
- 1:02:41Like just give me more juice. I hated it.
- 1:02:44Yeah, I know that's really bad because so many people love that
- 1:02:48but I just never want to read another book like this again.
- 1:02:51But the thing is, I think you could be really good book if it
- 1:02:54was written like an actual story.
- 1:02:57Yeah. You wanted to be there in the
- 1:02:58present. Hey I want it.
- 1:03:00Yeah I wanted to be a part of it.
- 1:03:02I didn't want to read a conversation so it was the Matt
- 1:03:06that you more mad about yes story but there was no story
- 1:03:09there. It was just people being like Oh
- 1:03:11yeah they were mad at each other.
- 1:03:14Yeah, I was mad at her. I think you would have enjoyed
- 1:03:17it more. If you had the audio book should
- 1:03:18be honest. Nah I would have zoned out.
- 1:03:21Hmm. It was good as the audiobook.
- 1:03:24It was just more. It was like listening to a show.
- 1:03:27Yeah. So at least it had like a
- 1:03:29podcast maybe. Yeah.
- 1:03:30It had more going for it because I know, if I had it on word, I
- 1:03:34would be like, fuck this. Oh yeah.
- 1:03:36It was a long struggle because I didn't think ever know when I
- 1:03:40was ending because I downloaded a pdf version fucking idiots.
- 1:03:45It's okay. So, not fun.
- 1:03:47That's why I messaged you. I was like, how long do I have
- 1:03:48left in your life? You're about a quarter.
- 1:03:50Three quarters of the way in. Sorry, Arkin next book.
- 1:03:55We've got a obviously pick something spicy because this was
- 1:03:58lacking in the spice aisle with her.
- 1:04:00I was looking for fucking sex, drugs and rock and roll and I
- 1:04:03got zip you need to start researching.
- 1:04:07It looks you can see that. The reason I do research is
- 1:04:09because I don't want to give away too much but then just give
- 1:04:12it away. It's fine.
- 1:04:13I was hyping this up like so juicy and I was like where's the
- 1:04:17juice know where it's likely? Dehydrated orange.
- 1:04:20She's like a long conversation that Just have a ending.
- 1:04:25So what are we going to write this out of days?
- 1:04:27He's sweating. Her dirty-ass feet other five
- 1:04:35days. He's mystery lint pills out of
- 1:04:38five. Yeah so you can begin to see
- 1:04:42right is 0 loud and negative 10 times 0 is 0.
- 1:04:49No redeeming qualities. It just feels like a cop-out for
- 1:04:52a book. It feels like she brought down
- 1:04:54what she wanted to write about and then never flushed it out.
- 1:04:58Yeah. I liked it but maybe I'm just a
- 1:05:00basic bitch because I did like it.
- 1:05:04I'm going to give it a 4 linty pills out of five.
- 1:05:07You so confused. No sense to me as a person.
- 1:05:11You make no fucking sense, I love games.
- 1:05:14Are you allowed an opinion anymore?
- 1:05:19Muddy spicy spook for you for your horny.
- 1:05:22Decide which one all of them? Most of the time, they have
- 1:05:27non-stop sex scenes and that's all you want.
- 1:05:30And theyíre always wrote them so hard because yeah, you know,
- 1:05:37why? Cause I always get caught up
- 1:05:40with like, if because this book seemed more realistic, I'm the
- 1:05:44queen of realism for thing, right?
- 1:05:47Sire for the beautiful believable Moorings.
- 1:05:50Yes, I'm like, if I can believe it happened, it's a 5 out of 5.
- 1:05:54I can't even nice. Just eating crap I think is.
- 1:05:58I know it's topics about though. I know it's garbage.
- 1:06:02I prefer talking about that through this.
- 1:06:05I don't understand. But why did I like it, though?
- 1:06:10That's what I don't understand. I just think it's because I'm a
- 1:06:13basic bit. It's because you don't actually
- 1:06:15like books. I'm convinced I'm just gonna
- 1:06:17have a pumpkin latte in my Uggs and leggings and this book I
- 1:06:22don't even think it would drink a pumpkin laughing while It's
- 1:06:26because I'm a scam. It's, I'm Daisy. 35 class
- 1:06:31degrees right now. Where we aren't you going to
- 1:06:33wear? Uh, yes.
- 1:06:34I am drink. A lot of tea.
- 1:06:37Yeah. A hot pumpkin.
- 1:06:38You're so full of shit right now.
- 1:06:42Did he afford to piss me that? I can't wait to go home bitch
- 1:06:56about you. Okay so we've got to pick
- 1:07:00something. I think I don't know what's
- 1:07:03going on. Okay I'm gonna make you read
- 1:07:05some fucking fucked-up shit. Yes please come on ready to have
- 1:07:10fought because I found a book the other day and I'm like I
- 1:07:13know I will hate this but I know it will be fast.
- 1:07:17Is it haunting Adeline or some shit?
- 1:07:19Because I keep seeing that on tiptoe.
- 1:07:21I really wanted to read that. I remember that because
- 1:07:24remember, I was trying Vince you yes.
- 1:07:26But then it might be too dark. It might be a bit too much.
- 1:07:31People say it's a four out of five spicy but then I assume
- 1:07:35that's a one out of five. No I actually think that one's a
- 1:07:38four out of five but it's a lot of stalking and a lot of.
- 1:07:43So you pick what? You're going to pick anyway and
- 1:07:45surprise me, I'm literally gonna say you do it immediately
- 1:07:49because I feel a book. That's my favorite like to talk
- 1:08:03about. Just a really fast one.
- 1:08:04This is my favorite. I feel like wasn't that the one
- 1:08:07with all the anal sex? No I think it was so swans.
- 1:08:12Ah right did you like it that? Right, remember the moment I
- 1:08:16wanted to share with you I didn't because I always read the
- 1:08:37day before we do the podcast and I knew you would be finished and
- 1:08:41I didn't want it to go to waste. Well it's too late for me to
- 1:08:44return the audible. So At least want my money back.
- 1:08:48It would be doing something very true.
- 1:08:51I don't know if I take this pose commit, when we commit okay, no
- 1:08:54vetoes it's fine. We'll just do the little razzies
- 1:08:57thing at the end of the year and then, yeah.
- 1:08:59What? Wherever the chips may fall?
- 1:09:02Okay, so I if I pick the grossest, yes, to his think how
- 1:09:07the alien porn, but, uh, you're thinking it is not them to what
- 1:09:13it is in that range. Can we just not do fairies?
- 1:09:17Like, is there a way to not night?
- 1:09:20This is karma figuring out. All right.
- 1:09:24But just remember this goes down as your pick, I know.
- 1:09:28But I think it would be fucking funny.
- 1:09:29That's yeah, it's not even funny.
- 1:09:31Here's the thing, wants to roommates alien stuff.
- 1:09:34Yes. Not because I enjoy it.
- 1:09:36It's because I think it's fucking kind of an excuse.
- 1:09:41I reckon as long as there's enough.
- 1:09:42People who want to listen to a podcast about it, then I'm on
