- 1:29Speaker 3: sale over there on the Nintendo switch Shop for just
- 1:32Speaker 3: four ninety nine and it will be on sale until
- 1:36Speaker 3: the eighteenth of February. So we figured, why not, let's
- 1:40Speaker 3: just review it. It's Star Trek related.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So yeah, five bucks.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Why not five bucks? Why not? So if you're looking
- 1:46Speaker 3: for something to do today, because you know, most people
- 1:48Speaker 3: will be playing watching the sports, and if you're not
- 1:51Speaker 3: a sports person, maybe you want to do that. So yeah, yeah.

- 2:03Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah sure, why not?
- 2:07Speaker 3: Why not? Anyways, So yeah, how was your week?
- 2:13Speaker 2: Uh?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Doing good? It's I'm just ready for a spring to
- 2:16Speaker 1: be here. That the snow is starting to get a
- 2:18Speaker 1: little bit depressing, and it's we had nice storm earlier
- 2:20Speaker 1: in the week and oh man, yeah, just lots of
- 2:23Speaker 1: lots of ice and snow and you know, snow days
- 2:27Speaker 1: for school and that kind of stuff. So yeah, I'm
- 2:30Speaker 1: ready to I'm ready for the sun to come out.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm ready to get my motorcycle out. Yeah, I'm ready
- 2:37Speaker 1: bring on the spring.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Normally, by now the snow is pretty much gone or
- 2:42Speaker 3: melting away in Idaho, but this is the first week
- 2:46Speaker 3: we've had real snow all oh wow, yeah, yeah, it's
- 2:51Speaker 3: it's been cold enough for snow, but there hasn't been any.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we need to get working on those weather modification
- 2:58Speaker 1: nets that we heard about.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it starts definitely off.
- 3:03Speaker 1: That'd be great.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean just a few years ago when I
- 3:06Speaker 3: first moved here, winter happened in November, and now it's
- 3:09Speaker 3: like February.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It's right, Yeah, it's in Michigan. It's it's it starts
- 3:16Speaker 1: in like sometimes it can start in September and not
- 3:20Speaker 1: end until May. So oh man, you just never know
- 3:23Speaker 1: with Michigan.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's cold here though. It's it's
- 3:28Speaker 3: like I think five degrees or six something like that.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that is cold.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And in Michigan we get this false spring where you
- 3:36Speaker 1: know and like you know, March, late March we'll get
- 3:39Speaker 1: you know, the sun will come out, the flowers will
- 3:42Speaker 1: start to blossom, and you know, you start to get
- 3:44Speaker 1: like sixty degrees and maybe even close to seventy and
- 3:48Speaker 1: then that weekend it's like, oh three inches of snow yep?
- 3:51Speaker 3: What yeah?
- 3:53Speaker 5: Where why?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:55Speaker 3: And then it's always fun the first snow when people
- 3:58Speaker 3: have to learn how to drive in the snow again.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all these crashes, Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We get that. Even if It's like, hasn't snowed in
- 4:05Speaker 1: a few days and then it snows again? Yeah, just resets.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, how do I do this?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Just drive us loan fine, can't remember? Yeah exactly. And
- 4:14Speaker 1: I drive a semi too, so I I you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I I steal a lot of stupid.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I bet you do, I bet you do.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 3: All right, well let's get to Star Trek news. We've
- 4:27Speaker 3: got quite a bit, so here we go, Star Trek News.
- 4:34Speaker 3: All right, so our first news story comes to us
- 4:38Speaker 3: from the wrap. Let me there it is. So this
- 4:43Speaker 3: is kind of interesting that this story came out. It
- 4:47Speaker 3: makes me wonder why it's just being thrown out there
- 4:50Speaker 3: right now. But the headline is the Star Trek franchise
- 4:53Speaker 3: has made two point six billion dollars for streaming services.
- 4:58Speaker 3: There's even charts, so apparently Star Trek has garnered quite
- 5:06Speaker 3: a bit of money for a lot of these streamers
- 5:08Speaker 3: all around the world. Let me get to the chart here.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Now, does that include all of Star Trek all of
- 5:15Speaker 1: streaming like original series up through Discovery Card or is
- 5:20Speaker 1: that yeah?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So if you can see on the chart
- 5:24Speaker 3: right there, so the purple is Paramount, the red is Netflix,
- 5:30Speaker 3: the blue is Amazon and the green is Hulu. Far
- 5:34Speaker 3: and away the people making the most money with Star Trek,
- 5:39Speaker 3: it's kind of been Netflix. It looks like paramount our.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Amazon has made quite a bit too as well. But
- 5:49Speaker 3: one of the interesting things is you would think being
- 5:53Speaker 3: in that we're us space, how are these other streamers
- 5:56Speaker 3: making money well into twenty twenty four with Star Trek.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It's right, they have the rights in other countries to
- 6:04Speaker 3: stream Star Trek. Paramount isn't just everywhere worldwide, so you
- 6:09Speaker 3: know in like Cambodia or Morocco or Brazil, maybe Netflix
- 6:15Speaker 3: has got the rights right or Amazon Prime. So and
- 6:19Speaker 3: then one of the ways they tell that it's that
- 6:22Speaker 3: specific programming that is the reason why people are subscribing
- 6:28Speaker 3: is if when you go and subscribe to a streamer
- 6:32Speaker 3: and like, the first thing you watch is that programming
- 6:36Speaker 3: or the thing you watch most often. So that's how
- 6:39Speaker 3: they can tell that that paramount, that Star Trek is
- 6:42Speaker 3: doing that for these streamers. So yeah, so worldwide it is,
- 6:48Speaker 3: it is garnering a ton of money. The reason why
- 6:51Speaker 3: I say this is interesting that they just all of
- 6:53Speaker 3: a sudden throw down like, hey, we're Star Trek's making
- 6:56Speaker 3: a lot of money for a lot of people. To me,
- 7:00Speaker 3: it's weird, especially because the whole section thirty one movie
- 7:04Speaker 3: just came out and just the widely panned negative reviews,
- 7:09Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, you're throwing this out. It
- 7:12Speaker 3: feels like a little bit like a distraction to me, right, Like, no, guys,
- 7:17Speaker 3: I swear we're good. You know. Yeah, it's either that
- 7:24Speaker 3: or they're trying to get more interest for the merger
- 7:28Speaker 3: or someone else to throw in another last minute potential
- 7:31Speaker 3: buyout offer, like hey, you could own this, it makes
- 7:35Speaker 3: a lot of money. I don't know. Yeah, maybe I'm
- 7:39Speaker 3: just a conspiracy theorist right there. You know, what do
- 7:45Speaker 3: you think?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 7:46Speaker 3: How?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, there's an algorithm there too that I'm sure we
- 7:49Speaker 1: don't understand.
- 7:50Speaker 3: But but I mean, you don't get a lot of release.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I need to reset, My internet needs to reset, So
- 7:56Speaker 1: give me just a second.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yeah, But like, you don't get this released for other franchises, right,
- 8:02Speaker 3: Like you don't see Law and Order taking this out.
- 8:05Speaker 3: You don't see Star Trek or Star Wars releasing these
- 8:09Speaker 3: kinds of numbers. Just all of a sudden, Star Trek
- 8:11Speaker 3: throws us out. Seems a little bit weird to me. So,
- 8:15Speaker 3: I don't know. What do you guys think in the chat?
- 8:18Speaker 3: Do you think it's it's suspect that all of a
- 8:19Speaker 3: sudden these numbers come out, or do you think it's
- 8:22Speaker 3: just them promoting chasms? It says send in Doge. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 3: I don't know, man, those guys are kind of crazy,
- 8:32Speaker 3: but you know so yeah, so I don't know. I
- 8:37Speaker 3: don't know why they decided to throw these numbers out.
- 8:40Speaker 3: But all right, So our next news story comes to
- 8:43Speaker 3: us from the Hollywood Reporter. Let me get that going here? Oh,
- 8:50Speaker 3: actually it's part of Oh here we go. Scott's coming back?
- 8:55Speaker 3: There he is, there is Scott.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah, can you hear me?
- 8:58Speaker 3: All right, yeah, I can hear you.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Okay, okay, So our next switch over to a different device.
- 9:03Speaker 3: So okay, yeah, our next new story gives me the
- 9:06Speaker 3: chance to play this.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Ah.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Well it's not it's not quite the deal watch, but
- 9:18Speaker 3: close enough. So the Hollywood Reporters is reporting that Paramount
- 9:22Speaker 3: has inked a thirty picture finance deal with Domain Capital Group.
- 9:29Speaker 3: So this is a private equity fund that has signed
- 9:33Speaker 3: on to fund thirty movies with Paramounts. That's a lot
- 9:39Speaker 3: they're funding them. They're not just straight up here's a
- 9:41Speaker 3: blank check, go make a movie. So it's like they're
- 9:44Speaker 3: doing fifty to fifty with the Paramount for thirty pictures.
- 9:48Speaker 3: They've already worked with Paramount in the past, doing a
- 9:52Speaker 3: couple other movies. They did The Gladiator too. I don't
- 9:55Speaker 3: know if you saw that one.
- 9:57Speaker 1: No, yeah, I plan on it.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But Okay, they've already funded the Naked Gun remake with
- 10:03Speaker 3: Liam Neeson. Uh, there's a movie coming out in a
- 10:06Speaker 3: few months. Nova came with Jack Quaid where he can't
- 10:10Speaker 3: feel anything and he's fighting people. You can't feel a pin. Yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 3: so whatever, They're gonna do a Running Man remake. It
- 10:20Speaker 3: looks like so whatever, But this is all a thirty
- 10:23Speaker 3: picture deal. It's it's interesting to me that they announced
- 10:28Speaker 3: this when they're on the verge of being sold. I
- 10:32Speaker 3: don't know.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, the game's afoot. There's there's there's some funky things
- 10:37Speaker 1: going on.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't I don't know.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't have the whole picture. There's there's some
- 10:44Speaker 1: back door stuff going on. There's there's stuff that they
- 10:48Speaker 1: know about that we don't. There's I don't know what's
- 10:51Speaker 1: going on, but something's going on. That they're not telling us,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and there's got to be a reason why all these
- 10:56Speaker 1: deals are falling through.
- 10:59Speaker 3: You know, Well, they're making new deals, which is interesting.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're making new deals, but they keep and
- 11:04Speaker 1: they keep making new deals. Yeah, you know, I just
- 11:08Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Maybe they're preparing interesting case they don't get sold, or
- 11:12Speaker 3: if it's just a drawn out process to merge with
- 11:16Speaker 3: sky Dance.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but I would think that that would be a
- 11:18Speaker 1: bad idea to you know, make other deals just in
- 11:20Speaker 1: case it would. You would think that that would make
- 11:22Speaker 1: the current deal bad.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Not necessarily, because once sky Dance owns it, they can
- 11:28Speaker 3: just nullify the contracts and say, hey, we're done, right,
- 11:31Speaker 3: that was the previous regime and we're out. But I mean,
- 11:35Speaker 3: sky Dance has worked so much with Paramount anyways, I'm
- 11:37Speaker 3: sure they're they're kind of already like on the phone
- 11:39Speaker 3: saying yeah, yeah, we're cool with that, you know.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they probably share bathrooms and offices already, and.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Yeah they're already moving in, moved in yet, No, no, no,
- 11:50Speaker 3: we're just hanging out.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, I don't know, something's fishy. I think
- 11:58Speaker 1: a year from now, we're gonna oh, that's what was
- 12:02Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, I just I just think something is off,
- 12:06Speaker 1: something's something's not right. We're gonna find out that CEOs
- 12:10Speaker 1: are going to private islands or something's just not right.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Well, remember Paramount is being run by three.
- 12:16Speaker 1: CEOs, right, and it's always a good idea to have
- 12:20Speaker 1: three bosses.
- 12:21Speaker 3: That's right, That's right. Yeah, So it's just I don't know,
- 12:28Speaker 3: but I mean one of the things that the the
- 12:30Speaker 3: article brought up is potentially one of the films they
- 12:32Speaker 3: could finance is a new Star Trek movie. So they
- 12:36Speaker 3: got thirty of them, so thirty one two, that's right,
- 12:41Speaker 3: that's right. Yeah, okay, so yeah, so that's not a
- 12:46Speaker 3: news story. And then our last news story comes to
- 12:50Speaker 3: us from inverse. I thought this was interesting that That's
- 12:54Speaker 3: why I'm bringing it up. It's a shame that Dan
- 12:56Speaker 3: is not here to join us with this, but we
- 13:00Speaker 3: were learning more about possible castings for Star Trek Discovery.
- 13:06Speaker 3: These are giant what ifs. They were potentials, but they
- 13:11Speaker 3: they didn't happen, So I thought it was interesting. Brian
- 13:14Speaker 3: Fuller was recently on the dcon Chamber podcast.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Brian Uller was.
- 13:20Speaker 3: The original showrunner for Discovery, so We talked a lot
- 13:24Speaker 3: about some of the some of the things that Discovery
- 13:27Speaker 3: was going to originally have, and I thought was interesting. Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 3: So one of the things they always wanted Snekua Martin
- 13:36Speaker 3: Green for Michael, but if they couldn't get her, they
- 13:41Speaker 3: did have a backup Julian Anderson.
- 13:47Speaker 1: That was out of left field, right.
- 13:49Speaker 3: A lot of these are gonna be like, right out
- 13:51Speaker 3: of left field. It's kind of crazy. So that was
- 13:53Speaker 3: one of the things. Another thing too that was kind
- 13:57Speaker 3: of interesting was a ridge Anthony Rapp was going to
- 14:02Speaker 3: play the doctor and it was going to be An
- 14:05Speaker 3: Andoran doctor.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Okay, that that would have been all right.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And then Wilson Cruz was going to play Anthony.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Rapp's character, the engineer.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Okay, he would have played stands. Yeah. Yeah, So that's
- 14:19Speaker 3: kind of funny that they would have been flipped.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You know, I mean a lot of us I bet
- 14:25Speaker 1: Dan would agree with this. We kind of see a
- 14:27Speaker 1: lot of these characters as interchangeable. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it
- 14:31Speaker 1: doesn't matter. I doubt Dan could name seven main characters
- 14:35Speaker 1: from Discovery.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Mm hmm uh. My favorite though, And you know, you'll
- 14:42Speaker 3: have to decide if you want to take the Red
- 14:43Speaker 3: Pill or the Blue Pill with this one. But originally
- 14:47Speaker 3: Laurence fishburn was going to be cast as a Klingon.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah why not. He's a great actor.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I would be down with that.
- 14:58Speaker 1: No, you know, I I don't think I've ever heard
- 15:01Speaker 1: Laurence Fishburne yell, but or raise his voice.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It'd be cool. Another thing too that Brian Fuller goes
- 15:09Speaker 3: on to say in the podcast that I thought was
- 15:11Speaker 3: interesting is that he said that some of the things
- 15:15Speaker 3: that he rejected ended up making it into the show.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Anyways he left, He's like, like the Klingon design, He's like,
- 15:24Speaker 3: I had rejected that.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how that they I don't want
- 15:30Speaker 1: to get into it about the Klingons really, but I
- 15:32Speaker 1: mean they weren't thinking about the future, they weren't thinking
- 15:35Speaker 1: about the past. They weren't thinking about the present when
- 15:37Speaker 1: they created those Klingons. Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So that's uh. Yeah, So it's an interesting Yeah, if
- 15:45Speaker 3: you want to go watch the Decon Chamber, it's the
- 15:47Speaker 3: one with the guys from Enterprise on it, and so
- 15:54Speaker 3: it's a fun little little show to watch. Okay, Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 3: but yeah, so that's all the news, all right, Yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 3: came in just in time. Yeah, no kidding, yeah yeah, yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Well let's get to our main topic, our review of
- 16:11Speaker 3: Star Trek Prodigies Supernova.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So let's do it fun, will now comment.
- 16:23Speaker 3: All right, so we are reviewing Star Trek Prodigy Supernova.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Like I said, it is currently for sale on the
- 16:30Speaker 3: Star Trek or on the Nintendo Switch Shop as you
- 16:34Speaker 3: can see in the US at least for four ninety
- 16:37Speaker 3: nine plus tax. So yeah, so we decided, well, let's
- 16:42Speaker 3: you know, it's it's Star Trek related. We'll play the
- 16:46Speaker 3: game and give our thoughts about it. Right, yeah, so
- 16:51Speaker 3: you played it on the switch, right.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I did play it on the switch, downloaded it. It
- 16:55Speaker 1: was like you said, it was five bucks. We just
- 16:58Speaker 1: got the switch for Christmas, so it was okay, kind
- 17:01Speaker 1: of the Christmas gift for the for the family. And
- 17:05Speaker 1: it is, uh, you know, it's definitely for kids. Yeah.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Number one, it's definitely a kid's game. The controls are
- 17:13Speaker 1: very simple, you know, a kid a game for kids. Now,
- 17:17Speaker 1: if you're a hardcore gamer, or even a gamer at all,
- 17:21Speaker 1: this is going to be very boring for you. It's
- 17:23Speaker 1: gonna be very rudimentary, especially if you're not any kind
- 17:26Speaker 1: of a star Trek fan, or really even a Prodigy fan.
- 17:28Speaker 1: But I enjoyed the hour that I spent just going
- 17:32Speaker 1: through the first level and just walking around as these
- 17:35Speaker 1: two characters.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you mainly play as Dow and Gwynn. I've
- 17:43Speaker 3: got this footage up of the game from Little Wonders
- 17:46Speaker 3: TV on YouTube. They did a walk through the game,
- 17:51Speaker 3: so I figured, okay, that's some file footage we can
- 17:53Speaker 3: use as as we're talking. But the game, yes, it's
- 17:58Speaker 3: very simplified. It's very just basic run and collect resources. Uh,
- 18:05Speaker 3: small solved, tiny puzzles. They're not really that complex. Maybe
- 18:10Speaker 3: a little more challenging for a child, but you.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Know, sure, yeah it's a clim here if you want
- 18:15Speaker 1: me to.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, what's the tagline?
- 18:18Speaker 1: So, after the Protostar, which is the main ship in
- 18:20Speaker 1: season one of Star Trek Prodigy, after the Protostar picks
- 18:24Speaker 1: up a string picks up strange readings from a dying star,
- 18:27Speaker 1: Darrel and Gwen race against the time to save their friends,
- 18:32Speaker 1: their ship, new alien species, and an entire planetary system
- 18:36Speaker 1: before a supernova destroys them all. So that's basically the
- 18:41Speaker 1: overall there's a super and over happening. They want to
- 18:44Speaker 1: save a bunch of people before it before it blows.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's a it's a pretty basic premise. It's,
- 18:51Speaker 3: you know, the the ship crash lands on a planet.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Somehow their friends get lost. So each level, you're you're
- 18:59Speaker 3: finding a friend, you're finding a part of the ship,
- 19:01Speaker 3: and you're putting it all back together so you can
- 19:03Speaker 3: take off. Yeah, so pretty basic setup for a game.
- 19:09Speaker 1: The game is also available not just for the Switch.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I don't know if you mentioned this, it's available for
- 19:13Speaker 1: the PlayStation, PlayStation five, PlayStation four as well as the Xbox.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think it's on stream as well too. Okay, yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 3: but yeah, it's it's you know, it's not that complex
- 19:27Speaker 3: of a game. You're not gonna you're not gonna be
- 19:29Speaker 3: sitting there beating your head as to what to do next.
- 19:34Speaker 3: They do have very start tric elements in it. You've
- 19:36Speaker 3: got the Phaser, you've got the the triy Quarder, which
- 19:40Speaker 3: the trie Quarder is gonna just tell you where to
- 19:42Speaker 3: go and what to do. Basically.
- 19:45Speaker 1: That's the thing I appreciated the most about it because
- 19:47Speaker 1: I sat down, I didn't, you know, are about nine
- 19:52Speaker 1: hours to play this game. I just wanted to, you know,
- 19:54Speaker 1: check it out, and I wanted to feel some familiar
- 19:57Speaker 1: places and characters and things.
- 20:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And I love Star Trek, I love Star Wars. I
- 20:03Speaker 1: played some Star Wars games, so, like the last Star
- 20:05Speaker 1: Wars game I played was Fall in Order, and I
- 20:08Speaker 1: ended up like deep in the bowels of some either
- 20:10Speaker 1: cave or ship or something down on like level fifteen,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and I couldn't get out of it, like the same
- 20:17Speaker 1: point was deep within the game, so I couldn't reset.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I didn't want to restart, and so I went to
- 20:22Speaker 1: the internet and pulled up a map to help me out.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And it was like this wire grid map that was
- 20:27Speaker 1: more complicated than the wiring system on the shuttle on
- 20:30Speaker 1: the Space Shuttle. And it's like I got super frustrated
- 20:33Speaker 1: about you know, I couldn't find my way back. Well
- 20:35Speaker 1: this game, you know, you just hit the track quarter
- 20:38Speaker 1: button and there's a little sort of way light that
- 20:42Speaker 1: tells you where to go.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's not I'm not going to say like,
- 20:48Speaker 3: oh my god, this is the greatest game. No it's not.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It's no, not by far, it's not.
- 20:53Speaker 3: No, by far, it's not. But it's it's not the
- 20:55Speaker 3: worst either.
- 20:56Speaker 1: No, I've played worse Star Trek games.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh a, Wolve's got a great question,
- 21:02Speaker 3: Well we get a best and worst Trek games. Have
- 21:05Speaker 3: you guys played? Have you ever played on episodes of
- 21:08Speaker 3: Star Trek and Trek has Oh yeah, I'm actually working
- 21:13Speaker 3: on doing something like that. I might try to stream
- 21:15Speaker 3: myself playing some Star Trek games. Oh okay, yeah, I'm
- 21:19Speaker 3: working on it right now.
- 21:20Speaker 1: The only other Star Trek game, I mean, I played
- 21:22Speaker 1: like Star Trek the Next Generation for the Super Nintendo.
- 21:28Speaker 1: And I played Star Trek the Next Generation for the
- 21:32Speaker 1: the handheld Sega.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, the game gear, the game gear.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, I tried playing Star Treking line,
- 21:40Speaker 1: but that's I don't know, it's kind of complicated. I
- 21:42Speaker 1: have ADHD, so I can't concentrate on my attention Wanders,
- 21:48Speaker 1: which is why I was able to play this game
- 21:50Speaker 1: because there's not a huge learning curve of Prodigy. One
- 21:53Speaker 1: of the games that I do have some fond memories
- 21:56Speaker 1: of that I did play quite a bit back in
- 21:58Speaker 1: the day on the PC was uh, Star Trek Voyager
- 22:01Speaker 1: Elite Force. Oh yeah yeah, yeah, that was a fun game. Yeah,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and I played Star trek Borg and you know that
- 22:09Speaker 1: was that was kind of a choose your own adventure
- 22:11Speaker 1: kind of thing.
- 22:11Speaker 3: But I was not into Star Trek back in the day.
- 22:16Speaker 3: But during COVID, I created a retro gaming machine. So
- 22:22Speaker 3: it's got all the games for like the Nintendo Super, Nintendo,
- 22:27Speaker 3: all the all the Game Boys, just a ton of Genesis, right,
- 22:33Speaker 3: a ton of things right. And with that, I have
- 22:35Speaker 3: all the libraries for those systems.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Oh nice.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, as soon as they get up and running,
- 22:42Speaker 3: I'll just be streaming some of the some of the
- 22:45Speaker 3: Star Trek games as I play them.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I'd like to say that.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, so yeah, well, well we'll maybe talk
- 22:54Speaker 3: about some of the worst games. I'm sure that would
- 22:57Speaker 3: be a fun list, wondering what the best is. Honestly,
- 23:00Speaker 3: this might be a runner up for one of the best,
- 23:03Speaker 3: even though it's not not the greatest game.
- 23:05Speaker 1: But it's not great. Yeah. All the reviews are like
- 23:09Speaker 1: just north of fair to midland.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Yeah. On Metacritic, which is kind of like the Rotten
- 23:16Speaker 3: Tomatoes and video game reviews, it has a seven point
- 23:20Speaker 3: eight okay, rated generally favorable, and most of the reviews
- 23:26Speaker 3: are like, yeah, it's a fun kids game, that's all
- 23:28Speaker 3: it is.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Yeah, right, Yeah, Steam has it at six out of ten. Yeah,
- 23:34Speaker 1: so yeah, it's not bad.
- 23:37Speaker 3: It's not bad. It's great for little kids. Like your
- 23:40Speaker 3: character never really dies. They just kind of like if
- 23:42Speaker 3: they get killed, all they do is they're like, you know,
- 23:45Speaker 3: they just sit there in the corner. They kind of
- 23:47Speaker 3: like hurt for a little bit, and eventually they recover
- 23:50Speaker 3: and come back, right, right, Yeah, that's all that really happens.
- 23:56Speaker 3: And then I think you can play two player. I
- 23:59Speaker 3: just played myself.
- 24:00Speaker 1: And you guys just waited character. So my son was
- 24:04Speaker 1: sitting right next to me, but he was just kind
- 24:06Speaker 1: of doing his own thing. So yeah, he looked up
- 24:08Speaker 1: from his phone every every every minute or so. But yeah,
- 24:13Speaker 1: the graphics are decent. You about what I would expect
- 24:17Speaker 1: for the Switch, which is a I don't know what
- 24:19Speaker 1: generation console it is, but.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah, And I mean the characters look like the characters.
- 24:24Speaker 3: They have the same voice actors, which is great, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 3: And it sounds like they recorded new lines for this
- 24:31Speaker 3: show or for this game. Yeah, it's not like they
- 24:34Speaker 3: pulled stuff from other episodes.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Right, that's pretty cool.
- 24:38Speaker 3: The cut scenes are kind of interesting, kind of comic bookie.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Right they look handed they yeah, hand drawn?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, which was.
- 24:48Speaker 1: An interesting choice because with a cartoon video game based
- 24:52Speaker 1: off of a cartoon, you have the opportunity to make
- 24:54Speaker 1: it photorealistic, right, right, So I thought that was an
- 24:58Speaker 1: interesting creative choice. So don't know if it's just easier
- 25:01Speaker 1: or cheaper or whatever to do it, Like, that's cheaper.
- 25:04Speaker 3: It's cheaper because or else you would want to animate,
- 25:07Speaker 3: like if they if they were photo realistic to the cartoon,
- 25:11Speaker 3: then you would want to animate it, right, and then
- 25:14Speaker 3: that's pain for animators and all that. So it's just
- 25:18Speaker 3: easier to We'll get someone to draw it and we're done. Okay,
- 25:22Speaker 3: yeah h A. Wolf also says that their personal favorites
- 25:26Speaker 3: have been Star Trek, Armada two, an Elite Force one
- 25:30Speaker 3: and two on the PC. Definitely fun with mods, so
- 25:33Speaker 3: there you go.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think I've ever played either one of those.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Elite Force yeah, okay, I didn't play two, but the
- 25:42Speaker 1: first one was a lot of fun.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, do you.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Know anything about it?
- 25:47Speaker 3: No, tell me about it.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So it's been it's been a long time, but basically
- 25:53Speaker 1: the plot is Janeway has decided that since they're in
- 25:56Speaker 1: the in the Delta Quadron, and they're coming across all
- 25:58Speaker 1: these different you know threat. She's going to make a
- 26:02Speaker 1: new She's gonna have Tubac create like a new branch
- 26:06Speaker 1: within within the ship, an elite force, if you will,
- 26:10Speaker 1: of like you know, uh, specialized warriors and yeah, like
- 26:16Speaker 1: a strike team. And they're the ones that go in
- 26:19Speaker 1: on all these dangerous missions and you know, take care
- 26:22Speaker 1: of business. They kick ass and take names.
- 26:25Speaker 3: So she literally creates a tactical diplomacy unit.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Exactly a tactical diplomacy unit, and they, you know, they're
- 26:32Speaker 1: kind of like a swat They've got special weapons and
- 26:33Speaker 1: tactics they got. It's like one of the only video
- 26:38Speaker 1: games that actually explains a way, in a sort of
- 26:41Speaker 1: reasonable way, how you can hold on to so many
- 26:44Speaker 1: items or get rid of them. She what what they
- 26:47Speaker 1: create is a little tiny like hip mounted replicator, so
- 26:51Speaker 1: if you need an item, it just replicates for you.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Oh that's interesting, which is like one of the only
- 26:57Speaker 1: in universe refeasible explanations I've seen for yeah, only a
- 27:03Speaker 1: rabbit out of a hat.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's kind of cool.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Yep. The Hazard Team.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the Hazard team.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Okay, is that the name of the Oh?
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a lot of fun. That was the
- 27:16Speaker 1: first first person shooter.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Okay, okay, Yeah, I've.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Never been big on I've never been big on first
- 27:26Speaker 1: or third person shooters. I don't play a lot of
- 27:29Speaker 1: Call of Duty or or you know, I don't play
- 27:31Speaker 1: any Fortnite or anything like that. I've just never been
- 27:34Speaker 1: really good at it because I've never, like I said,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I've got ADHD, So I've never had the patience to
- 27:39Speaker 1: like get good at those but repetitive games like Mario
- 27:44Speaker 1: and Mario Kart and you know, things like that. I
- 27:47Speaker 1: can get really good at this game.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I will say. The starting product, She's Supernova is very repetitive.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Yes it is.
- 27:55Speaker 3: And you are doing the same thing over and over
- 27:57Speaker 3: and over again.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah, which means you can get better at it. Like
- 28:00Speaker 1: I noticed, even just playing the first level, I was
- 28:03Speaker 1: able to get really good at Switch. Like there's there's
- 28:05Speaker 1: certain parts of the game where you have to, you know, say,
- 28:08Speaker 1: hold a switch open, but then you have to you
- 28:12Speaker 1: can't let go of it, so you have to switch
- 28:14Speaker 1: to the other character the other character completes a task.
- 28:17Speaker 1: So I got pretty good at quickly switching characters and
- 28:19Speaker 1: quickly switching between a short range attack with like a
- 28:24Speaker 1: handheld weapon versus a phaser attack, and combination attacks stuff
- 28:28Speaker 1: like that. So for me, it was you know, I
- 28:33Speaker 1: guess when I'm playing video games, I basically have the
- 28:36Speaker 1: mental and emotional maturity of a fifth grader. I was
- 28:40Speaker 1: able to catch on pretty quick.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Well good, yeah, I I The puzzles were kind of fun,
- 28:46Speaker 3: like you find these boxes and you you set up
- 28:49Speaker 3: triggers to either open a gate or you know open
- 28:53Speaker 3: you know, turn on a bridge so you can cross
- 28:55Speaker 3: a canyon. And it's basic puzzles like that. Yeah, it's
- 29:01Speaker 3: nothing too complex.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And the puzzles too are like you know, I've played
- 29:06Speaker 1: Zelda games, I've played Dragon War games and stuff like it.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Sometimes it can be super so like unless you have
- 29:14Speaker 1: the main like the the how to beat the game
- 29:18Speaker 1: book in front of you, you know, sometimes these puzzles
- 29:21Speaker 1: are like there's no rational explanation as of why you
- 29:23Speaker 1: would have to go to this place and do this
- 29:25Speaker 1: thing and grab this object. And you know, like I said,
- 29:29Speaker 1: when I'm playing video games, I don't play him very often,
- 29:32Speaker 1: so when I do, I just want to sit down,
- 29:34Speaker 1: get it real quickly and then play it. And that's
- 29:37Speaker 1: something I was able to do with this.
- 29:39Speaker 3: So Kevin's Trek. He says that they like driving games
- 29:45Speaker 3: and to play PUG or Call of Duty.
- 29:49Speaker 1: So yeah, well I love driving games. Yeah, yeah, driving
- 29:54Speaker 1: games are good. I used to play Grand Turismo three
- 29:57Speaker 1: quite a bit, which back in the day.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Uh I I the last game I really just teared
- 30:04Speaker 3: through it and I really loved was that. The the
- 30:07Speaker 3: latest Ninja Turtles game, the Shredder's Revenge. Okay, okay, yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 3: it's it's like a remake of like the classic side
- 30:15Speaker 3: scrolling Beat them Ups. Oh nice, Yeah, those those are
- 30:18Speaker 3: like my favorite types of games, like the beat them ups?
- 30:21Speaker 1: What what system is that for? Or did you play?
- 30:23Speaker 3: I have it on my PS four but it's basically
- 30:26Speaker 3: on everything, okay yeah, and it's also it gets repetitive,
- 30:30Speaker 3: but it's Shredders Revenge. Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
- 30:37Speaker 3: It's a lot of fun. You can play with all
- 30:40Speaker 3: the Turtles or Casey Jones, April O'Neil. They did a
- 30:45Speaker 3: DLC maybe a year ago, so I got a few
- 30:48Speaker 3: other new characters.
- 30:49Speaker 1: So yeah, okay, yeah. Most of the games that play
- 30:52Speaker 1: now are just on my cell phone, you know, Like, yeah,
- 30:55Speaker 1: I've got a lot of downtime when I'm you know,
- 30:57Speaker 1: either on my lunch or waiting for a load or whatever.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I play a lot of Candy Crush. Oh yeah, I'm
- 31:03Speaker 1: on level I'm almost on level eight thousand of Candy Crush.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Okay, I play. I play a lot of Magic Arena, okay,
- 31:12Speaker 3: because I like playing magic, So yeah, I can't.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Magic twice okay. Yeah. Yeah, and that's you know, magic
- 31:21Speaker 1: is a game. It's funny. I look over, I can
- 31:23Speaker 1: see a magic card right now. I uh, you know,
- 31:26Speaker 1: magic is a game that it's it. I avoided it
- 31:29Speaker 1: for a very long time because it looked super super complicated,
- 31:34Speaker 1: and you know, you're you're talking, you're looking at a
- 31:36Speaker 1: guy who it probably could never learn, like gin Rummy
- 31:40Speaker 1: or or or spades or anything like that, just because
- 31:43Speaker 1: I don't have the patience for it. But magic is
- 31:46Speaker 1: one of those things that you really can get in
- 31:48Speaker 1: pretty quickly.
- 31:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 3: They call it cardboard crack for a reason.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and it's kind of like chess, like it's
- 31:56Speaker 1: pretty easy to learn and it takes a wild master.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah. They I have read somewhere that it
- 32:04Speaker 3: is considered the most complex game that humanity has ever created.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Oh sure, yeah, sure, yeah, but you can you can
- 32:12Speaker 1: dive into it fairly.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Quickly, Kevin struck. He says, as a fellow truck driver,
- 32:17Speaker 3: I do the same. The first person shooters on the
- 32:19Speaker 3: phone on phones are fun too.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Oh okay, I'll have to check that out.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Jazz Skyroom is my favorite game of all time.
- 32:28Speaker 3: There you go.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I used to get quite heavy into uh. For the
- 32:33Speaker 1: PlayStation two, I played Star Wars episode three. Oh nice,
- 32:41Speaker 1: ninety ways from Sunday. Okay, I became soul perfishient at it.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I just for some reason, you could get into that
- 32:48Speaker 1: game really quick. The gameplay was amazing. I had a
- 32:52Speaker 1: couple of you know, I had an alternate ending, So
- 32:54Speaker 1: that was a lot of fun.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Okay, okay, well yeah, so I guess we're not even
- 33:00Speaker 3: talking about the game anymore. Really, Yeah, that that's basically
- 33:03Speaker 3: our review. You know, it's fun. It's not the best,
- 33:06Speaker 3: but you know it's fine.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, if you've got a switch, and you've got five bucks,
- 33:11Speaker 1: and you've got you know, a couple hours to kill,
- 33:13Speaker 1: and you're a Star Trek fan, you know, and maybe
- 33:16Speaker 1: this will get you into Prodigy a little bit. I mean,
- 33:18Speaker 1: Prodigy the show is not bad. It's it's it's fun.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's it's more geared towards little kids. But you know,
- 33:24Speaker 1: there's a lot of shows geared towards kids that grown
- 33:27Speaker 1: ups enjoy, so I would definitely check it out. I've
- 33:31Speaker 1: watched season one of Prodigy. We just started season two,
- 33:34Speaker 1: so it.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Hit me as I was playing the game. Prodigy is
- 33:39Speaker 3: the Star Trek version of Skeleton Crew because it's the same. Absolutely,
- 33:45Speaker 3: they accidentally get a ship and and what are the
- 33:48Speaker 3: kids going to do? Now?
- 33:49Speaker 1: Yep, yep, and they sort of have an adult that
- 33:52Speaker 1: guides them.
- 33:52Speaker 3: But yeah, it's it's interesting how they're very parallel if
- 33:57Speaker 3: you look at it.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Absolutely, And I just finished Skeleton Crew. I thought it
- 34:01Speaker 1: was good.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I liked it too. I liked it.
- 34:03Speaker 1: It was good. Yeah, it's interesting because it was its
- 34:07Speaker 1: own story that doesn't affect Star Wars as a whole.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, you know, it was a fun story. Yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 3: All right, Well that's that's our review. Let me get
- 34:23Speaker 3: to the next thing, our listener feedback.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Listener feedback.
- 34:34Speaker 3: All right, So I asked people to accept in the chat,
- 34:38Speaker 3: and it looks like Chasmiz did, so we should expect
- 34:41Speaker 3: him shortly. Okay, Yeah, so did you get any emails
- 34:47Speaker 3: or voicemails? Did you see anything.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I did not get I don't have access to the voicemails,
- 34:51Speaker 1: but I did not get any emails. I'm very disappointed.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I want somebody to email me so I can read
- 34:59Speaker 1: it on the show. Okay, So I want you to
- 35:02Speaker 1: email me at Strongbeard one seven zero one at gmail
- 35:06Speaker 1: dot com. You can ask me a question, hurl insults.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I don't care. I will read it live on the show.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and you can connect with us on social media.
- 35:17Speaker 3: We're on all the socials trek cast tg on you know, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.
- 35:26Speaker 1: TikTok, Instagram.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and then yeah, there's the number two for voicemails
- 35:32Speaker 3: if you want to leave one five seven zero six
- 35:36Speaker 3: six one zero zero zero one. That's five seven zero
- 35:41Speaker 3: six six one zero zero zero one.
- 35:44Speaker 1: So yeah, and all that information is on our website
- 35:48Speaker 1: and in the show ye trek ass dot com, so
- 35:51Speaker 1: show notes all that kind of stuff. So yeah, leave,
- 35:55Speaker 1: and same thing with the voicemail. Please, you know, leave
- 35:58Speaker 1: all your compliments dan uh and all your horrible insults
- 36:03Speaker 1: to me on the voicemail. We will play them live.
- 36:06Speaker 3: That's right, that's right. Jazz business on. Let me let
- 36:09Speaker 3: me bring him in. So here we go. There he
- 36:12Speaker 3: is going on. Where are you at now?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Miami? Okay, Miami, Miami.
- 36:18Speaker 3: What do you do?
- 36:20Speaker 5: Going on a cruise?
- 36:21Speaker 1: So awesome? What what cruise line?
- 36:25Speaker 5: Royal Caribbean?
- 36:27Speaker 1: Nice? Nice? What what ship?
- 36:31Speaker 6: Uh?
- 36:31Speaker 5: Symphony in the seas?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Okay okay, yeah.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Because icons the newest and this one's like one the other.
- 36:38Speaker 1: One, so okay, that's the big ships. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: we went on Adventure of the Season over the summer
- 36:45Speaker 1: and that was one of.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Their It like, oh no, we lost them.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Amazing. Okay. I highly recommend a cruise for anybody who's
- 36:56Speaker 1: never been on one. Have you ever been on one?
- 36:59Speaker 8: Yes, it's been it's been a while though, it's been
- 37:01Speaker 8: like since twenty eleven.
- 37:03Speaker 3: So yeah. My dad goes on a cruise like once
- 37:06Speaker 3: a year now the past few years. Yeah, and then
- 37:09Speaker 3: my brother.
- 37:10Speaker 2: So it is.
- 37:14Speaker 8: It's like going through a portal because you're going to
- 37:16Speaker 8: a different area in Miami. Yeah, you know it's cold
- 37:19Speaker 8: in Oklahoma and come here in it's like beach weather,
- 37:23Speaker 8: different universe.
- 37:24Speaker 1: That's crazy. Nice that's good.
- 37:27Speaker 3: So have you played the game the now?
- 37:32Speaker 8: I didn't even know about it. I probably would have
- 37:34Speaker 8: downloaded it and played it on the plane.
- 37:36Speaker 3: So yeah, they can play it on the on the
- 37:38Speaker 3: way back.
- 37:39Speaker 8: Yeah. I buy it for the switch because, yeah, you know,
- 37:42Speaker 8: I usually have that on me.
- 37:45Speaker 3: There you go. Yeah, it's a fun little game. It's
- 37:49Speaker 3: repetitive though, just know that. Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 8: See I play Star Trek Fleet Command. So okay, that's
- 37:57Speaker 8: my Star Trek game.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And it is.
- 38:01Speaker 5: It's a fun game, but it's kind of pricey.
- 38:04Speaker 3: So Kevin the drink, he says, cruises are pretty fun,
- 38:11Speaker 3: but the last time on one was teens with my
- 38:15Speaker 3: parents Panama Canal.
- 38:18Speaker 1: That sounds like trouble, Yeah, trouble with now chasis. Let
- 38:24Speaker 1: me ask you this. Did you get the full drink package?
- 38:28Speaker 5: I think it's like nine dollars to get the drink?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 5: The full drink package? Just how much was it?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 38:39Speaker 3: So wow a drink?
- 38:43Speaker 8: Mean I think it's unlimited drinks? Right, so you got
- 38:47Speaker 8: to drink like six a day to get your money's worth?
- 38:50Speaker 1: Oh come on, got a fellow like you? Now? That
- 38:53Speaker 1: includes all the specialty coffees and you know everything else,
- 38:57Speaker 1: but yeah, you get all unlimited alcoholic drinks.
- 39:00Speaker 3: And okay, A wolf asked, what about the official truck cruise?
- 39:05Speaker 3: Are you guys ever going to go on one year?
- 39:09Speaker 5: That actually looks fun?
- 39:11Speaker 3: It looks like a lot of fun, but I really.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it's extremely expensive.
- 39:16Speaker 1: That would be the kind of thing we would have
- 39:18Speaker 1: to do like a two or three year like crowdfunding.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like two or three times, like what a
- 39:29Speaker 3: just a normal cruise?
- 39:30Speaker 8: Right, yes, look at it last year. I guess it's
- 39:34Speaker 8: like we got to do this and the packages were
- 39:37Speaker 8: so expensive.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, and I don't I don't think I could
- 39:42Speaker 3: do it, man. Yeah, yeah, I have an apprehension towards
- 39:47Speaker 3: cruises because when I was in news, we did a
- 39:51Speaker 3: ton of stories about people go on these cruise ships
- 39:54Speaker 3: and then they all get really sick because you've got
- 39:57Speaker 3: a large amount of people in a small environment.
- 39:59Speaker 9: Yeah illness. Yeah, that's tradition in the ocean.
- 40:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it's got shot.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:08Speaker 8: I don't want to get sick on the cruise because
- 40:11Speaker 8: that's no fun.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Yeah absolutely.
- 40:13Speaker 8: And plus you know that can quarantine you in your
- 40:16Speaker 8: room where you know you're locked in there. Oh really Yeah,
- 40:21Speaker 8: if they ever find out you're sick, like really sick,
- 40:24Speaker 8: they will put like a quarantine.
- 40:26Speaker 5: Deal and lucky in your room.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Oh man, Yeah, my wife just said she's been trying
- 40:31Speaker 1: to get me to go on a Startrek cruise for
- 40:34Speaker 1: a long time. Okay, and you know maybe maybe a
- 40:38Speaker 1: couple three years we might we might do it, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 1: but you're right, it is expensive. Yeah, the per person
- 40:44Speaker 1: double prices. It's a lot.
- 40:47Speaker 3: So yeah, it's a lot.
- 40:49Speaker 8: But in a way for for trek Cast to be
- 40:52Speaker 8: a good way to interview like the people the cast.
- 40:57Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I interview.
- 40:59Speaker 1: You're right there for a week.
- 41:01Speaker 8: And I'm sure you're you're trapped with them, they're trapped
- 41:04Speaker 8: with prets.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I'm sure we could get some one on one kind
- 41:06Speaker 1: of thing.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Check. You know, just go to w w W dot
- 41:11Speaker 1: co coffee dot com. That's ko dash f I dot com,
- 41:16Speaker 1: Forward slash track cast and uh yep, and and donate
- 41:21Speaker 1: some shekels and uh and you know, uh some wheat
- 41:25Speaker 1: pennies and and some bits and we can make this happen. Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 3: So and then I hit the like button because that
- 41:33Speaker 3: helps with the algorithm, is hit the like button.
- 41:35Speaker 1: All that stuff helps the algorithm, like when you comment
- 41:38Speaker 1: on like a a TikTok video or you heart the
- 41:42Speaker 1: TikTok video, Instagram, Facebook and stuff, it all helps to
- 41:47Speaker 1: push more of that content out there. So you know
- 41:51Speaker 1: the even just if you're just scrolling by, just hit
- 41:53Speaker 1: the like button or just make a quick comment like hi,
- 41:56Speaker 1: it helps.
- 41:58Speaker 5: To write a comment.
- 42:00Speaker 3: The most random thing, Kevin, is that if you did
- 42:03Speaker 3: a go fund, maybe willing to contribute, send you and
- 42:06Speaker 3: your spouse. I think a report from you guys would
- 42:08Speaker 3: be worth it. So there you go, I mean, hey, yeah,
- 42:13Speaker 3: and then a wolf asking the real questions, how did
- 42:15Speaker 3: missus Strongbeard's birthday goes?
- 42:17Speaker 1: Got fine? I guess you'd have to ask missus Strongbeard
- 42:23Speaker 1: herself how she liked a birthday.
- 42:24Speaker 3: But I want to know she likes called missus strong Beard.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Yeah I don't think. Yeah, she probably doesn't like being
- 42:30Speaker 1: called this a strong beard.
- 42:31Speaker 8: But you know, is she sad that she's turning twenty
- 42:34Speaker 8: nine and then next year?
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah, she's very sad that she was turning twenty nine.
- 42:38Speaker 5: Yeah, it's the last year of her twenties.
- 42:40Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. I just got to deal with it. Yeah,
- 42:46Speaker 1: so yeah, she would love to go on a cruise,
- 42:48Speaker 1: and you know, I it's something that we thought about,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you know, maybe saving up for two years in advance
- 42:54Speaker 1: or three years in advance, you know, to go.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:00Speaker 1: So I don't know, maybe a Patreon thing yeah maybe. Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 3: So so you know, one thing we can bring up
- 43:08Speaker 3: since we got a little bit of time. Uh so
- 43:10Speaker 3: it is a super Bowl this week and or tonight,
- 43:15Speaker 3: and we've gotten new trailers for Fantastic Four, we got
- 43:21Speaker 3: a new trailer for the new Jurassic Park, and potentially
- 43:25Speaker 3: we're gonna get something for Superman today. Yeah, during the
- 43:29Speaker 3: Puppy Bowl, they're supposed to release something smart.
- 43:34Speaker 5: Okay, which one are you most excited for?
- 43:37Speaker 1: Superman? Yeah?
- 43:39Speaker 3: Superman and uh and missus Strongbard has said her birthday
- 43:43Speaker 3: was pleasant and uneventful.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much, which is exactly how she wanted it. Yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 1: there you go.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess all three of those movies come out
- 43:57Speaker 3: in July two, which is kind of nuts.
- 44:00Speaker 8: I never understand why pitts the three biggest movies in
- 44:04Speaker 8: one month.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Because that's when the most amount of people are going
- 44:07Speaker 3: into theaters.
- 44:08Speaker 5: It's like spread the wealth, you know, you can do
- 44:10Speaker 5: May June July, right, there. Yeah, and then you have
- 44:14Speaker 5: the weeks and you're not all back to back to back.
- 44:18Speaker 1: So have you guys heard the lawsuit that's going on
- 44:21Speaker 1: with the Superman movie.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 44:23Speaker 1: Yeah, So I'm just gonna go over real quick. But
- 44:27Speaker 1: this is from Reuter's. Basically, a lawsuit is accusing the
- 44:31Speaker 1: new movie, James Gunn's new movie, violating copyright. It's coming
- 44:37Speaker 1: from the estate of one of the co creators. It's uh,
- 44:42Speaker 1: the state of the Superman illustrator Joe Schuster, Yeah, co
- 44:47Speaker 1: created it.
- 44:48Speaker 3: There's something with in in certain countries. The law reads
- 44:52Speaker 3: that after a certain amount of time, the rights just
- 44:55Speaker 3: automatically revert back to the to the creator. Right, So
- 45:00Speaker 3: what they're saying is DC needed the estate's permission to
- 45:06Speaker 3: make the movie and to put it in those countries.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I'm sure, I'm sure it'll get settled out of court.
- 45:13Speaker 3: I don't think it'll be that big of an issue.
- 45:16Speaker 1: More than likely, and we're hoping so because if it,
- 45:18Speaker 1: if it doesn't, the countries that it's looking at our
- 45:21Speaker 1: large you know, big deal countries like Canada, Great Britain,
- 45:25Speaker 1: and Australia.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Right, those are big markets.
- 45:28Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I'm hoping nothing happens to you know,
- 45:33Speaker 1: take away from this yeah movie, So yeah, I'm excited
- 45:38Speaker 1: about Superman. I you know, I'm a big Superman fan.
- 45:41Speaker 1: I know Dan is this big Superman fan and Superman tattoos,
- 45:46Speaker 1: so yeah, yeah, I'm like this close to getting one,
- 45:50Speaker 1: this close to getting a Superman tattoo, but I probably won't.
- 45:53Speaker 1: But uh yeah, you know I my my love for
- 45:56Speaker 1: Superman my love for Star Trek are both up there.
- 46:00Speaker 1: The Fantastic Four movie. Uh you know this is like
- 46:06Speaker 1: third Times of Charm. I guess. Yeah, it's kind of
- 46:10Speaker 1: the hope.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I think it looks fun. It does it does? I like?
- 46:17Speaker 8: I like it's the one office not really well, I
- 46:19Speaker 8: mean it they're gonna combine it all together with the
- 46:22Speaker 8: Avengers and all that, but it's kind of a their
- 46:25Speaker 8: own kind of world right now. It looks like takes
- 46:28Speaker 8: place in the sixties.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Like that retro vibe is.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Jazz Biz in a hotel. I got here late. He's
- 46:35Speaker 3: a witness protection.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm in Miami.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Yeah, he's by being on the internet, but you know.
- 46:43Speaker 8: Whatever, Yeah, get me some bigger sugar tonight. Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Yeah. For those of you who don't know, Chaz Biz
- 46:51Speaker 1: is not his legal name.
- 46:54Speaker 3: That's right, that's right. No, it says on his.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Which was surprising. That's that's what our that's where our
- 47:03Speaker 1: investigators found out.
- 47:05Speaker 3: We'll find them.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yeah. How about the new Jurassic Park Jurassic World movie.
- 47:11Speaker 8: Okay, they're trapped on an island dinosaurs and then.
- 47:17Speaker 5: Everybody dies, three of them and then they get.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Off the island. Yeah. They made that movie once, didn't they.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I do like that they have.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Four times let's go to the island with dinosaurs.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Yeah. I do like that. They have like, uh like
- 47:32Speaker 3: mutant dinosaurs stuff they never got all the way made. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 47:39Speaker 3: so that that looks interesting to me. I think it's
- 47:42Speaker 3: a really silly plot of like we need to get
- 47:45Speaker 3: blood samples from the three biggest versions of of dinosaurs
- 47:49Speaker 3: from the land, sea, and air.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I think when they were pitching this movie,
- 47:55Speaker 1: they were just like, uh, okay, we're gonna do another
- 47:58Speaker 1: Jurassic World. I don't think so, Oh, come on, We're
- 48:00Speaker 1: gonna have even bigger dinosaurs this time. I don't you know. Oh,
- 48:04Speaker 1: it's gonna be this genetic thing. It's gonna be the
- 48:06Speaker 1: same plot and the same storyline kind of. But we're
- 48:08Speaker 1: gonna twist it a little bit, and they're like, no,
- 48:11Speaker 1: all right, we're gonna put Scarlett joyants in it. Yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 1: bye bye, God, let's do it.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Scott, you're being called out in the chat. Somebody has
- 48:21Speaker 3: listed your priorities. It's Star Trek, Superman, then wife.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Oh okay, not necessarily in that order.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Oh wow, Star Trek, Hey, jazz Biz.
- 48:42Speaker 1: You got room room down there for me.
- 48:46Speaker 5: I got a sofa in the room, so yeah.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 48:49Speaker 7: Okay, I'm looking up flights to Miami right now, Greg,
- 48:57Speaker 7: all right, well, as long as you're on the ship
- 49:00Speaker 7: by one o'clock, you're all right.
- 49:01Speaker 1: So okay, I could do that.
- 49:04Speaker 5: Yeah. It would be a quick flight from Michigan.
- 49:09Speaker 3: So yeah, right right, all right, Well I think that's uh,
- 49:16Speaker 3: that's pretty much wrapping it up, because now not strong
- 49:20Speaker 3: Bird's gotta go.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Way, can we continue the show please?
- 49:24Speaker 5: I don't want to leave while stretch it.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I may or may not be back for next week.
- 49:31Speaker 3: You might be in the basement with chat.
- 49:33Speaker 5: Right, yeah, what's your favorite game of all time?
- 49:39Speaker 3: My favorite games? Yeah, ah, that's a good question. Uh,
- 49:45Speaker 3: I don't know if I have a favorite game in particular.
- 49:47Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe maybe Super Mario three. I love
- 49:51Speaker 3: playing that game, yeah, I would say three.
- 49:54Speaker 5: And then Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo.
- 49:57Speaker 8: Yeah, is like so so different.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I will say though, I got Super Mario Wonder mm hmmm,
- 50:08Speaker 3: and that game is just a lot of fun. Yeah,
- 50:11Speaker 3: it's just a lot of fun. Yea.
- 50:18Speaker 5: A majority of the Mario games on there are amazing.
- 50:20Speaker 8: So yeah, they're all pretty good, you know, like the
- 50:24Speaker 8: Nintendo ones.
- 50:25Speaker 3: So yeah, I played Wonder.
- 50:28Speaker 1: That's not like a sequel to another one, is it.
- 50:30Speaker 1: It's just its own No, No.
- 50:31Speaker 3: It's just its own thing. Yeah. It's kind of musical,
- 50:36Speaker 3: which is weird.
- 50:37Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, every time you jump like they kind of
- 50:42Speaker 8: dance and everything.
- 50:43Speaker 1: It's really weird.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, and and uh, what's weird is it doesn't
- 50:47Speaker 3: take place in the in the Mushroom Kingdom. It takes
- 50:50Speaker 3: place in the Flower Kingdom.
- 50:54Speaker 1: So okay.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 1: My least favorite Mario game of all time in Super
- 50:59Speaker 1: Mario two.
- 51:00Speaker 8: Oh yeah yeah, yeah, that was actually really a different game.
- 51:05Speaker 5: They just slapped Mario on there exactly.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Yep, yep. I couldn't beat it without the game Genie.
- 51:12Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, that one was so because you had Mauser
- 51:15Speaker 8: and then you had like all these different characters on
- 51:19Speaker 8: the game and it made zero sense.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Uh, Desires is all the two Raiders?
- 51:26Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 51:26Speaker 3: Those are good games.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Yeah, she loved the games.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I played the I guess it's the latest one,
- 51:32Speaker 3: the remake.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, happened to get Anybody?
- 51:41Speaker 3: Which one?
- 51:42Speaker 5: Indiana Jones?
- 51:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the new one that came out.
- 51:47Speaker 5: That one is excellent.
- 51:49Speaker 3: I haven't played it yet.
- 51:51Speaker 8: Guy who who voices Harrison Ford.
- 51:55Speaker 5: I mean it's weird.
- 51:57Speaker 8: It's almost like uncanny like so click actually almost. Yes,
- 52:03Speaker 8: it's it's really strange.
- 52:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I hate say. I think I like the plot
- 52:08Speaker 5: on the game better than the new movie.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Waiting games is any Zelda Final Fantasy game will get
- 52:15Speaker 3: me every time? Yeah, man, I I love the Zelda games.
- 52:18Speaker 3: I never got into Final Fantasy. They look interesting. I
- 52:22Speaker 3: just never played them.
- 52:23Speaker 1: I tried getting into the Final Fantasy games. They were
- 52:26Speaker 1: again a little complex, kind of a high learning curve,
- 52:29Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of stuff to do. I
- 52:31Speaker 1: played Final Fantasy Legends for the game Boy. Yeah, and
- 52:36Speaker 1: I got to the very last level and I could
- 52:38Speaker 1: never for the life of me, even later on in life,
- 52:40Speaker 1: when I found the game again. I could never beat
- 52:43Speaker 1: the end boss.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:45Speaker 9: Wow.
- 52:46Speaker 3: So I can't play games for more than like thirty
- 52:49Speaker 3: minutes and then I'm like, I need to do something else. Yeah,
- 52:52Speaker 3: you know, I'm just I'm done. So even even if
- 52:55Speaker 3: I love the game, just I tap out after half
- 52:57Speaker 3: an hour. I enjoyed playing mad with my son sometimes
- 53:01Speaker 3: it's yeah, Madden's fun.
- 53:02Speaker 1: You know, they just came out. For about the last
- 53:05Speaker 1: ten years, there hasn't been an NCAA equivalent of Madden
- 53:09Speaker 1: College Football, and they just came out with one for
- 53:11Speaker 1: the PS five. Oh okay, and yeah, and we got
- 53:15Speaker 1: we got our PS five for his birthday and I
- 53:19Speaker 1: got both Maden and College Ball for for well us.
- 53:24Speaker 5: So did Michigan go to the National Championship or yeah?
- 53:28Speaker 1: We Yeah? I love playing Michigan. I love or as Michigan.
- 53:35Speaker 8: Well, like when you have like a you know, a
- 53:38Speaker 8: big team, it's easier to to win on there, but
- 53:41Speaker 8: when you have like a really crappy team, it takes a.
- 53:42Speaker 1: While, right, got Yeah, the last time we played, he
- 53:46Speaker 1: played his Oregon and I played his Michigan, and I
- 53:49Speaker 1: he plays a lot more than I do, and I
- 53:50Speaker 1: was able to beat him.
- 53:52Speaker 8: Okay, what's funny about those games, Like they're all the
- 53:58Speaker 8: same and you kind of go back to them even
- 54:00Speaker 8: like ten years later.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Still, I because I don't I don't care about the
- 54:05Speaker 3: latest roster. I bought like a random Madden from like
- 54:09Speaker 3: several years ago, and I got it for like three
- 54:11Speaker 3: bucks at game Stop and that's what I play.
- 54:15Speaker 8: So who's your who's your team on Madden? Yeah?
- 54:19Speaker 3: All either play as the Raiders or Seattle.
- 54:23Speaker 8: Seattle, Okay, because you're region, Like I have no idea
- 54:27Speaker 8: like what your reaching would be, you know Seattle.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Yeah, No, surprisingly not, although if I did n C
- 54:36Speaker 3: double A, I'd probably go Boise.
- 54:38Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, it's field. It's like Boise has that blue smurf.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Field, so it's very blue.
- 54:45Speaker 1: In person, it's the.
- 54:47Speaker 5: Leest field I've every seen.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Yeah. There there's a college up here, Eastern Washington University,
- 54:54Speaker 3: and so when Boise had the blue, they came out
- 54:56Speaker 3: with their own and it's red.
- 54:58Speaker 5: Yes, it's like bright red.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a nightmare on TV.
- 55:01Speaker 8: It looks terrible, especially on HDT oh Man like Pops
- 55:06Speaker 8: and it's weird.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Sin.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:09Speaker 1: They reintroduced football into Star Trek.
- 55:13Speaker 5: Hey, it's the Super Bowl so we've.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Talked about they've talked about tennis, they've played darts, they've
- 55:19Speaker 1: played baseball, yep, so yeah, squares, they need to bring
- 55:27Speaker 1: football into it.
- 55:28Speaker 8: Hey, that's the Star Trek game they ought to create
- 55:32Speaker 8: because nobody knows what prese squares is and you can
- 55:35Speaker 8: make up anything for it.
- 55:37Speaker 3: I am shocked they have not introduced soccer into Star Trek. Yeah.
- 55:42Speaker 5: No, no, wharf killed a guy.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Oh that's right, that's right.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Yeah, the only soccer reference to Star Trek was a
- 55:50Speaker 1: kid accidentally killing another kid.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Yes, it was just Roughs jazz with with the.
- 55:57Speaker 8: Shaky No, I got the shaky cam in here, and yeah,
- 56:01Speaker 8: standing in the corner with sunlight. So it's a really
- 56:05Speaker 8: dark room. Okay, it's like for some reason I don't
- 56:08Speaker 8: have I don't know, she rented a different room.
- 56:11Speaker 1: She's not in here. I'll try to have a better
- 56:13Speaker 1: background set up. So if I sound okay right now,
- 56:16Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna set up next week, do I okay? Yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 1: Well this is exactly how I did it on the
- 56:21Speaker 1: cruise last year, and I noticed that my the voice
- 56:23Speaker 1: quality was just as good when I was like on
- 56:26Speaker 1: the cruise with no mic or headphones. As it was
- 56:29Speaker 1: when I was at home in my office, and for
- 56:32Speaker 1: some reason lately, I haven't been getting good internet the
- 56:35Speaker 1: internet set up that I have right now, so I
- 56:36Speaker 1: might just do it like this went on.
- 56:38Speaker 5: All right, No, No, I'm just doing on my iPhone.
- 56:44Speaker 3: When they need to make a water polo game with
- 56:46Speaker 3: Captain Archer, Yes, sure, I forgot.
- 56:49Speaker 5: I forgot they played water polo ones you loved it? Yeah, yes,
- 56:54Speaker 5: I thought about that. Yeah, insane, what other than for it?
- 56:59Speaker 8: But you know what would be funny if they had
- 57:01Speaker 8: water polo but they had the dolphins from Citations.
- 57:05Speaker 6: You know.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh, what was the game that? What was the
- 57:09Speaker 1: game that Riker and his dad played? Oh, you have
- 57:13Speaker 1: to be blind and you have censored on the end
- 57:15Speaker 1: of your pogo sticks.
- 57:16Speaker 5: Like kwondo to Kwondo.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like it was.
- 57:21Speaker 5: Like a combination of.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Other pugels. It was like a pugel. Yeah, we did
- 57:29Speaker 1: that in the Army. We we played with pugols.
- 57:32Speaker 8: But you have to have like a rubber helmet on
- 57:34Speaker 8: that you can't say anything and yeah father and.
- 57:38Speaker 5: Have this whole.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd like to play that with my son. Yeah.
- 57:46Speaker 5: Actually, Scott taken off the home.
- 57:48Speaker 3: End a waiting game. That's something we missed from Burnham quirks.
- 57:54Speaker 3: What was your favorite beverage? What did we did we
- 57:57Speaker 3: ever learn that? Uh? Yeah, that was what thing we
- 58:00Speaker 3: talked about. Like, I know that Chilly liked ice cream,
- 58:04Speaker 3: but that's about it.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, going her favorite beverage is water.
- 58:10Speaker 3: There you go.
- 58:11Speaker 1: I just made her backstory, yes, yes, and it was
- 58:15Speaker 1: a lot more interesting in the backstory that the writers
- 58:17Speaker 1: gave her, which is where they had like six years
- 58:20Speaker 1: to developed this character and there really wasn't much of
- 58:22Speaker 1: a backstory.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they didn't really do a lot. They could have.
- 58:25Speaker 5: Thought you had six years.
- 58:27Speaker 8: Well, I guess because the first two there, you know,
- 58:31Speaker 8: everything's undercover, so she couldn't.
- 58:33Speaker 5: Really go home much. And then they go ten thousand
- 58:36Speaker 5: years in the future.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Thought even without Dad here, all roads lead to bat
- 58:40Speaker 1: Sheep Discovery indeed.
- 58:43Speaker 5: Indeed, Well, I know it's I don't know what it is.
- 58:48Speaker 8: Yeah, well, Discovery was something that could have been so
- 58:52Speaker 8: much more.
- 58:53Speaker 3: We wanted it to be better. We wanted it to better.
- 58:56Speaker 8: It's like, it's not really hating on Discovery. I just
- 58:59Speaker 8: wanted more from it.
- 59:00Speaker 1: It's just.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Like like bear in Mind is saying they've made a
- 59:04Speaker 3: lot of money with the Star Trek stuff.
- 59:06Speaker 8: Well that's good and hopefully, like like you said, you
- 59:09Speaker 8: showed that chart, maybe somebody is out there, a billionaire
- 59:14Speaker 8: that's the track.
- 59:14Speaker 3: E Yeah, that will buy it.
- 59:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
