- 1:52So join the community. It's growing, it's super fun.
- 1:54We're talking trade, we're talking starts, we're talking
- 1:56pickups, everything, all that good stuff.
- 1:58We even had our inaugural Bangor Management League draft where
- 2:02some fans just were itching for another draft and they started a
- 2:05draft in the middle of the year and this was really fun.
- 2:08So we're going to be following those teams.
- 2:10If you're watching on YouTube, please subscribe, have a like we
- 2:13really appreciate it and listen. If you listening to this on
- 2:16Spotify or Apple or whatever, just click the follow button.
- 2:19So that way every time the new episodes come out, you'll be
- 2:21notified. And if you like what you hear,
- 2:22rate is five stars. But with that said, let's get
- 2:25into it. We have a lot of new to cover
- 2:27and would you rather? Wow, that's great.
- 2:31I didn't have to do that part alright, let's dive right into
- 2:36some news. We had a couple of trades
- 2:38because there was kind of like a mini trade deadline with the
- 2:40holiday freeze. So let's get into some massive
- 2:44ones that we had a decent marchment traded to Columbus for
- 2:47a second and a fourth round pick.
- 2:49He's currently playing line one power play 2.
- 2:51I think that roster is wide open and anyone who shows any glimpse
- 2:55of offence is going to get the opportunity.
- 2:57So he's an interesting watchlist guy.
- 3:00He's shown in the past he can provide bangers so I mean not
- 3:04running to grab him but. He just had one good game played
- 3:07almost 20 minutes a night. So listen, something to monitor.
- 3:11But I will say though, like Columbus right now is kind of
- 3:13like their lines are in the blender right now.
- 3:15It feels like they have, they're splitting all their best players
- 3:17over 3 lines. So whether that's sticks, I
- 3:20doubt it. I feel like just trying the
- 3:22combinations to see what works because they're going, they've
- 3:24been in a rut. So I expect over the next week
- 3:27or two we'll have some more stability and how it actually
- 3:31shakes out because I don't think Sean Monahan should be the third
- 3:35line centre and I don't think Charlie Coyle should be
- 3:37centering Kirill Marchenko, who is the best player on this team.
- 3:40So we'll see how that goes. But for now, I think Marchman,
- 3:44if you're in a really deep leak, he could be worth a shot just to
- 3:46see like he has some Bangor in him a little bit.
- 3:48He can be a shots hits guy. And listen, if he's getting
- 3:50deployment 20 minutes a night, you should be able to put up
- 3:52some points as well. So something to monitor.
- 3:55Yep, absolutely. Alright.
- 3:57Next big trade we had Phil Donohue was traded to Montreal
- 4:01for a second round pick. There's a good depth edition for
- 4:04the Habs. Not that fantasy relevant
- 4:06outside of face off when leagues though.
- 4:07But it's a fun reunion for us have fans because last time we
- 4:11saw Phil on the haves was our Stanley Cup finals run.
- 4:15So only good memories and it's a big need that we need right now
- 4:18with the defensive centre, especially if Jake Evans is out
- 4:20for a bit. Yeah, I was going to say with
- 4:22Jake Evans, I feel like Montreal kind of had their their hands
- 4:24pushed a little bit into making a move like this.
- 4:27But I'm happy to know his back like he's just he's good for the
- 4:30culture here. I think he already has a
- 4:32relationship with the star players on this team.
- 4:33Like we saw him in coffee. I'll have a little had little
- 4:35bromance in the playoff that playoff run last time.
- 4:38So I like but for fantasy, like you said, I think he's great for
- 4:42faceoffs, which not many leagues have ours does.
- 4:46But besides that, he's not really good to get your shots,
- 4:47hits or blocks. So maybe some short handed, some
- 4:51shorthanded points exposure given here probably plays on the
- 4:53PK, but I don't think he gets any power play exposure.
- 4:56So. No.
- 4:58Alright, so that's it for that mini trade deadline.
- 5:00It was very exciting, but lucky for us, I think there's still
- 5:03going to be more to come over the course of the season.
- 5:05Let's move into some classic injury news.
- 5:08Here's one that look, I never like to hope for someone to get
- 5:11injured, but when I'm number one on the hate hater list, you know
- 5:14it. I can't say I'm not.
- 5:16I'm too upset. We have a JT Miller a week to
- 5:19week with an upper body injury. Alexis Lafreniere currently
- 5:22taking a spot on power play one. That's another situation where I
- 5:24think they're gonna keep cycling it.
- 5:25So Laugh could take it, Coolly could take it.
- 5:28They have Scott Morrow at the power play.
- 5:30Quarterback one shift on the power play, they did well in the
- 5:33next game like David Kov got a shift that probably 1 so.
- 5:36It's a it's a mess in New York right now.
- 5:39So this is a big loss obviously for even though he's been pretty
- 5:42awful this year compared to where you drafted him, he's
- 5:45still pretty solid guy to have in bangers, especially with
- 5:47faceoff wins. He does the shots, face off
- 5:48wins, hits, and then he was actually kind of heating up a
- 5:50little bit. So it's definitely a big loss to
- 5:52your team. But yeah, that's just an IR
- 5:54stash. And then I'm not rushing to pick
- 5:56up Lafreniere with the deployment.
- 5:59We saw what he did with it earlier and he kind of sucks.
- 6:01And honestly, yeah, the team kind of sucks.
- 6:02Like they just keep getting shut out.
- 6:04It's it's kind of incredible. So.
- 6:06They actually had a great game where they came back and won it
- 6:09after being down like 4-2 in the third.
- 6:11So that was encouraging, yeah. And then the next game they just
- 6:14kind of like they dropped the ball after.
- 6:16So a lot of inconsistencies, but they're pretty banged up too, so
- 6:19they're still trying to find their stride.
- 6:21But like, I had Panera and then I was complaining throughout the
- 6:24week. But also he had like so many
- 6:26shots this weekend, like a shot game.
- 6:27He had like 2H is a six shot game in a stretch of like four
- 6:31or five games. So I mean, he's the only guy
- 6:33left, right? Yeah, and tricks been pretty
- 6:35nasty too, like project is you got them for your bangers league
- 6:38with face off too, like he's just always a stud.
- 6:40But yeah, are you trying to buy on GT though, given the injury
- 6:42just happened? I saw his shoulder in sling.
- 6:44I think so. Week to.
- 6:46Week I see it like, I mean, I was actually ask you this.
- 6:48Do you think that like cause clearly I think it's pretty
- 6:51clear to everyone that when he got injured in like a pre season
- 6:55that I think he came back too soon.
- 6:56I think he was still playing injured.
- 6:58He just clearly has not seemed like, you know, the JT we know
- 7:00he can be. So I wonder if the fact that he
- 7:03got this other injury that kind of forcing him to sit out for a
- 7:06bit, Do we think that maybe it'll also give him a chance to
- 7:08heal from whatever was nagging him from the preseason and then
- 7:11he could come back stronger? He's the type of guy that never
- 7:15wants to rest. Will they take any games off?
- 7:17He's also the captain of this team now, like whether you agree
- 7:20with it or not, like he's the guy and he's like the vocal
- 7:23leader. So I think for him to miss time,
- 7:26it's like forcing him to recuperate a little bit.
- 7:29So like you said, it actually might be a blessing in disguise.
- 7:31It just depends how much time you misses because he's like
- 7:34usually a shoe in for the Team USA roster.
- 7:37So we'll see in the Olympics are in February.
- 7:40So I don't know if that's gonna be, if he's gonna be in jeopardy
- 7:44of missing the Olympics, But I know you do everything in his
- 7:46power to not. Miss it.
- 7:47So yeah, I think they they said that like he should be fine for
- 7:50Olympics. So I think that's kind of like
- 7:52his target. If you're looking at a date when
- 7:53he might be coming back, it should be right before Olympics.
- 7:55So I'm getting three to four weeks is my guess from now, like
- 8:00probably end of January. The Olympics are so close.
- 8:02I know it's already like the holiday season.
- 8:04It's crazy. Time flies. 2026 in literally 2
- 8:06weeks. Right now it's actually actually
- 8:08insane. But yes, in terms of buying low
- 8:10on him, I'd say first of all, if your league isn't like a bangers
- 8:14with faceoff wins, like I'm not that interested.
- 8:16The main thing that's interesting is yes, the bangers
- 8:18and also the playoff schedule. We've talked about it a lot, but
- 8:20we 21 to 23 Rangers have a great schedule and the upside is
- 8:23there. And if the same person who
- 8:27drafted him has held on to him this long and now this injury, I
- 8:30could see them being so fed up with JT that maybe you can get
- 8:32him for really cheap. So all that to say, yes I would
- 8:36buy low on him if you can get him cheap enough.
- 8:38But I'm not like dying to get. Him let me give you some names
- 8:41because like if JT is on a team that's in the bottom of your
- 8:43standings and you're near the top of your standings and you
- 8:47can afford to just pick up an IR stash, would you trade like a
- 8:50Dylan Gunther for him? Yes, absolutely, and this is
- 8:53guys. This is just preface prefacing
- 8:56that you're in a league that has hits as a category or points for
- 9:00hits because that's where JT really thrives because he gets
- 9:02you like shots hits and the power play in the points
- 9:04exposure face off wins. It's even better.
- 9:07Like in our league of record. He have all those categories and
- 9:09Pimms and he's like a first round pick because he touches
- 9:12all of those. So Dylan Gunther, I think you
- 9:14can swap. I think maybe.
- 9:16Also read that. I'm Kevin Fiala.
- 9:17Yeah, so quick. The reason I said so quickly yes
- 9:19to again there is because they also have a really bad playoff
- 9:21schedule. Just putting that out there.
- 9:23Yeah, Diphylla as well. OK.
- 9:24And then you can do the. Names.
- 9:25Yeah, yeah. Keeper Sherwood if you're lucky.
- 9:29Yeah, absolutely. These are all names that are
- 9:31like, they're good players you're happy to have on your
- 9:33roster. But like, even if Miller comes
- 9:36back and does what he's been doing this season with the
- 9:39playoff schedule, I'd still rather have him than these
- 9:41players going into the playoffs. If your league has the cast that
- 9:44we discussed, obviously, yeah. So.
- 9:45So now is a great time to to buy.
- 9:47Like honestly I would try and buy them if I didn't already
- 9:49sell. Him, I think the owners
- 9:51committed now like he gave up McDavid for JT, like she's
- 9:54success rides on JT unless he's able to get like good value for
- 9:56him, I think he's gonna set him on the.
- 9:57Low. Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:59Alright, let's move on. Let's move on.
- 10:02OK, A trio here of some New Jersey Devils news, starting
- 10:05with the big one. Jack Hughes returned from injury
- 10:08and bumped Andre Pilot from line on power play.
- 10:10One no surprise there in the deployment.
- 10:12Huge surprise that he came out of nowhere.
- 10:13But also it's not a surprise because he was playing against
- 10:16me and I magically heal my opponents players.
- 10:17So now that was a that's a crazy kind of come out of nowhere.
- 10:22Yeah. That's why I love buying
- 10:23markings like injured players, you know, like they never, I
- 10:26won't say never, but player. But yeah, certain guys are like
- 10:33ahead of schedule, you know, like the guys were like really
- 10:34important to their team, their gamers, they wanna be in there.
- 10:37I don't know, it just feels like it's always such a huge win when
- 10:39you buy low on these like injured guys, so.
- 10:41Huge. It also depends on the injury
- 10:43too. Like he cut his finger, sure.
- 10:44Like if it was like a knee injury or something else, they
- 10:47can maybe less likely that he's going to come back ahead of
- 10:49schedule, but like a little finger injury, I'm sure he was.
- 10:51OK, no, that's fully agree. And kind of on that same topic,
- 10:54Team Omaha returned from his leave of absence, but he went
- 10:57straight to power play too. Again, I think that could get
- 10:59mixed around, but there's another one where we actually
- 11:01mentioned I said buy low on him because this leave of absence is
- 11:05gonna be way shorter than like it seems.
- 11:07Yeah. And then it was so like these
- 11:08these kind of like non injury related absences I'm starting to
- 11:12learn last a lot shorter than people think.
- 11:15But they still have kind of that sense of doom around them, like,
- 11:18oh, who knows how long it's? Gonna be there's not an injury
- 11:20and it's like off the ice type of thing.
- 11:22So, I mean, after we saw the Daily News, like when Darlene
- 11:25announced he's taking leave of absence to be with his wife and
- 11:27everything, we all like obviously wasn't the best, but
- 11:29we were like, OK, like, is he gone for the season?
- 11:31Like, what's what's happening, You know?
- 11:33And then it was a few weeks later, like I'm back from
- 11:35indefinite leave. And then same thing with Timo,
- 11:38like Josh said it on the podcast.
- 11:39So if you guys were listening and you were able to acquire a
- 11:41team of like Josh said guys, I know it says indefinite, but we
- 11:45just saw what happened with Darlene.
- 11:46Like you never know how long it's going to be as probably on
- 11:48the shorter end. So if you can acquire him,
- 11:51you're probably laughing right now.
- 11:52Even though he got P2I expect him to get back some looks on PP
- 11:55one too like it's just. Yeah, I mean, Keith, like,
- 11:57splitting it and bumping it around or whatever.
- 11:59And also like, his banger cats have been elite this year.
- 12:02So you're really happy to have him in that sense.
- 12:05And then just throwing in there for more devil's news.
- 12:07But Arsenic Gretsch also returned from injury and went to
- 12:09powerfully too. Are you?
- 12:11Is this the start of the devil's bounce back?
- 12:13I know you're a brat for suggested.
- 12:15I mean anyone who's a he sure owner, a brat owner.
- 12:18I think the window for these Devils guys are is closing right
- 12:21now. If you're able to acquire he
- 12:22sure Brad. I think the window is about to
- 12:24slam shut with Jax used back. He already scored and he didn't
- 12:27even shoot that much. I think he had two shots in his
- 12:29first game back. So I expect him to expect all
- 12:32the New Jersey Devils to kind of wrap up right now.
- 12:35Here's a good one. Jacob Markstrom.
- 12:37Yep, I think he's a good by little target because he's been
- 12:40awful. He just had to actually really
- 12:42solid game is probably his best game of the season that he
- 12:44played. So but then Jake Allen got to
- 12:46start right after. So OK, are they still splitting?
- 12:49Like the guy who owns Markstrom? Maybe he's not super in tune
- 12:51with the situation, but it's tough because now that there's
- 12:54Jacques back, people are like, I can see people assuming that
- 12:57Jacob Marshall just going to be back to like his usual self,
- 13:00even though he's been awful and they're gonna completely forget
- 13:03that. So it's kind of like a bad
- 13:05opportunity, but. I would still.
- 13:06Try by low if the owner still views him as low.
- 13:09If the owner is already baking in the jacket you got dropped
- 13:12in, don't bother. Yeah.
- 13:14Like if you could flip like a UC saros for him I would do that.
- 13:17Yeah. Or a Jacob Fowler that you
- 13:20picked up and you just got to shut out and you know, like
- 13:22people are like, Oh my God, is he just started for the Habs
- 13:24now? Like if you can flip predicting
- 13:25Markstrom take take that. Alright, let's move on from the
- 13:29Devils, although there's a lot of exciting stuff happening
- 13:31there. Zach Werenski is day-to-day with
- 13:33a lower body injury after blocking a shot late in the
- 13:36game. Ivan Provorov should take his
- 13:38spot on power play one, but it could be C person.
- 13:40I don't know. It doesn't really matter to be
- 13:42honest because without Renski and with how Columbus has been
- 13:44doing and the fact it's only day-to-day, I'm not rushing to
- 13:47pick up any other replacements. They did go to get imaging done.
- 13:49It was kind of scary. He had to like be helped off the
- 13:51ice, but no broken bones. So he's being labeled as
- 13:54day-to-day, which is a huge sigh of relief for Werenski owners
- 13:57and for anyone who was hoping to pick up their replacement at,
- 14:00uh, a bit disappointing. You guys listening to this like
- 14:04right before Christmas, like we said, but I think the timing on
- 14:07injuries right now is bad because given that there's a
- 14:09gap, like teams will not, will not risk bringing these to the
- 14:12holidays exactly. Just gonna shut them down until
- 14:14the new year, probably. So even though you might be
- 14:16day-to-day and he technically could play like next week, next
- 14:19week, like say, let's say, sorry, I cannot articulate
- 14:22anymore. They probably might shut them
- 14:24down until January. So I would expect him to miss at
- 14:26least a week or two. Anything less than that, I feel
- 14:30like the cherry on top and you're you're you're happy.
- 14:32But I would be interested in, and I think Provorov if he gets
- 14:34it. I feel like he's had stretches
- 14:36this year, specifically recently where he's had a little bit more
- 14:39fantasy value than usual. So if he gets exposure to the
- 14:42power play 1 and, you know, playing with the best players
- 14:44there, they just got March, maybe they're a little bit
- 14:46having a boost there. So I'd be interested.
- 14:48I'm not rushing to pick them up. Yeah, I guess more because it's
- 14:51like my mind is such a short term injury that like, yes, you
- 14:54can have him as like a stream, you know, but I'm not like this
- 14:57isn't gonna be a make or break picture.
- 14:59I put him in the Hampus Lindholm kind of category.
- 15:02When McAvoy went down, it's kind of similar.
- 15:03Yeah, only difference is like Linton I felt had more staying
- 15:06power because the entry seemed longer for Mac.
- 15:08Yeah, but other than that, pretty much exact same.
- 15:10Alright, Jack Eichel is out with a lower body injury.
- 15:14Shea Theodore took his bottom power play one, but then he also
- 15:16got injured and is now week to week.
- 15:18So now it's Noah Hanifin on power play one who just put up a
- 15:20three assist game with four shots and four blocks.
- 15:22I know that. Two point me.
- 15:25But that's, uh, but yeah. So I think that the Eichel entry
- 15:29seems like it shouldn't be too long.
- 15:30I think still being listed as day-to-day so.
- 15:33It's so crazy because if it's actually an injury like they
- 15:35initially listed him as sick illness.
- 15:37Vegas is the worst with injury news of any team ever.
- 15:40That's why I like there was a couple of years there where I
- 15:42was purposely avoiding Vegas goalies because not only are
- 15:46they bad with injuries, they're also terrible at announcing the
- 15:48starter on time. So just like always such a
- 15:49headache to deal with them. Like they just love their
- 15:51secrecy. Mean remember, Mark Stone came
- 15:53back out of nowhere for you after like being supposed to be
- 15:55gone for months against my team. But anyways, but but yeah, I
- 16:00know it's just they're super bad with that.
- 16:01So they said it was illness, like you said, and they became
- 16:05lower body injury and it became he's out a couple of games.
- 16:07And so I still expect him back within, you know, after the
- 16:10holidays, let's say, which isn't that long.
- 16:12But if he's out for any longer term, then Hannah's a really
- 16:16interesting pickup because Theodore's out week to week.
- 16:18So he's out of the picture for for a bit.
- 16:20And Hanafin can do something with that probably one spot.
- 16:23The thing is that when Michael comes back, he gets bumped
- 16:25immediately. Yep, and I'm like this might be
- 16:29a brief window where you can actually acquire Jack Eichel
- 16:32given like the he's one of the best centres in fantasy hockey.
- 16:36Like he's arguably a first round pick, no producer right now.
- 16:40So if this opens the window even a crack for you to acquire him,
- 16:43it's not gonna be cheap. Obviously it's not going to be a
- 16:45steep injury discount. But if somebody is a little bit
- 16:47nervous with the ambiguity, like the day-to-day just adds to your
- 16:50case to be able to acquire him. I think so.
- 16:52In our last Buy Low, Sell High episode, I listed Matt Boldy as
- 16:55one of my Sell High targets. I'd be trying to acquire Jack
- 16:58Eichel from at Baldy. I love that.
- 17:00And maybe you might be able to do that in a 2 for one where the
- 17:03two the second piece alongside Boldi is not as elite as usual
- 17:08necessary. Yeah, OK, Seth Jarvis is out
- 17:13with an upper body injury. Jackson Blake taking his spot on
- 17:15line one power play, one that looked like a brutal injury.
- 17:18I think they announced a week to week now.
- 17:19So that's definitely a huge loss to the Canes and to anyone who
- 17:23has some other team because he's a fantastic player.
- 17:25And Jackson Blake getting that bump.
- 17:28I mean, Blake is a promising young player.
- 17:31So this will definitely help his value.
- 17:33This isn't the best power play unit.
- 17:35So it's you have to like, you know, temper your expectations
- 17:38if you if you grab them, but the deployments there and he's a
- 17:42he's a talented player. So I'm definitely interested in
- 17:44picking him up and seeing what he can do.
- 17:46Man, I love Seth Travis. He's actually one of my favorite
- 17:48players. I think arguably he might be the
- 17:50best player on this Carolina team.
- 17:51Like I know Aho is the guy there, but I mean, Jarvis is
- 17:54just so talented and he's young too.
- 17:56He's younger than you would think.
- 17:57He's I think only 24 or something, but.
- 17:59Yeah, I think. So he's the type of guy that
- 18:01people love to play with too. So this really sucks for them.
- 18:04We expected Nick Elders to be maybe the guy that benefits from
- 18:06this, but clearly we were wrong because it's a Rod team and.
- 18:09I wasn't wrong. I've been down healers all year.
- 18:11Even when he had that hot streak, I was like, it's not
- 18:13gonna last guys. I wouldn't be CAN.
- 18:15I wouldn't have been shocked if Euler's kept the line too, but I
- 18:18thought yours would get PD one but they'd rather put Blake or
- 18:21Jordan stall there, so maybe, maybe a little.
- 18:24Sticky one Yeah, never ever, ever draft anyone on Rod
- 18:29Brindamour's team. And I will give the exception of
- 18:32Seth Jarvis and an exception to Slash Naho, but that's it.
- 18:37They just that nothing makes sense.
- 18:39Your guy can be putting up 1.5 points per game and Rod will
- 18:43bump him from power play one in line one.
- 18:45It just the deployment never makes sense.
- 18:46It's a headache all year. There's no one pushing a gun to
- 18:49your head saying draft this guy, you know?
- 18:51So like just pick the next guy who's equally good but not on
- 18:54Rod's team and his deployment is more secure.
- 18:56Yep. Alright, let's move on.
- 18:58Yeah, sorry. I just have to go on my run out
- 19:01anytime I have the chance. But Brandon Hagel is out with an
- 19:04upper body injury. No change to power play on
- 19:06because he wasn't on there. But obviously it's a massive
- 19:08loss for, again, the whole team and for anyone who has him
- 19:11because he was playing out of his mind.
- 19:12We had highlighted him as a cell high for awhile.
- 19:15So again, this is like when it's with entries, you can't like tap
- 19:18yourself on the back and say, yeah, we called it, you know,
- 19:20but if you did sell high when we told you to, then you're pretty
- 19:23happy about it. And I think this just honestly
- 19:27sucks for Hagel. Like we mentioned it in the
- 19:28discord that a lot of people were asking questions given in
- 19:30the beginning was ambiguous, was gonna miss a lot of time or not.
- 19:34But then listen, they're probably going down until after
- 19:37the holidays. So that's that's my guess.
- 19:39And it's it's a head injury. So you don't really wanna be
- 19:41risky with that. It just sucks.
- 19:43But at this point, if you have him, I'm not trying to sell
- 19:46because his value is like depreciated right now unless you
- 19:49can sell him for fair value, which is always fun to do.
- 19:53But if not, I'm just holding waiting for him to come back.
- 19:55He's gonna be good when he comes back.
- 19:56He just not on power play once. So sealing his cap there and
- 19:59then maybe you have an opportunity to sell again.
- 20:02Yeah, OK. Matt Zuccarello returned from
- 20:05injury and took back his spot on line one power play 1 bumping
- 20:08off Vladimir Tarasenko to grill out a 2 point game when he came
- 20:11back. That's got to be one of the best
- 20:13deployments you can have in the league right now on Minnesota
- 20:15with the Queen Hughes trade and all that.
- 20:17Tarasenko actually putting up decent numbers even after
- 20:20getting bumped off. I'm still not a believer in the
- 20:22long term usefulness of him, but as a streamer he's been doing
- 20:25really well so far. Yeah, I think.
- 20:29Zuccarello is one of those guys that is his roster percentage is
- 20:32still lower than it should be, I think, given he was hurt and
- 20:35missed some time and. Until he hits 40%, you're gonna
- 20:37hear him on our waiver episodes. Yeah.
- 20:39So honestly, I really like getting exposure to that
- 20:42Minnesota Power play, one that now has Kaprizov and Quinn
- 20:44Hughes on it, which is nuts. And I think Zuccarello is a
- 20:47super cheap, the cheapest entry point into that Power Play 1.
- 20:51So I'm really looking forward to, you know, if I had if he's
- 20:53on waivers in in one of my leagues, I'm picking him up.
- 20:56And Tarasenko, I think his staying power, like he's he's
- 20:59somewhat his fantasy relevance. Kind of like he went up because
- 21:03he got power play 1 exposure. And then it's kind of stayed
- 21:07there because even though he lost that, he ended up having
- 21:09some chemistry with the other Russians guys.
- 21:12So now his value, I feel like his lower, but maybe more
- 21:15sustainable in a different way. But I'm not really interested in
- 21:17trying at all. And you're in the deepest of
- 21:19leagues. No, all right, Frank Nisar is
- 21:23out about four weeks. Seems like Colton doc might be
- 21:27taking his spot on power play one, but that Chicago power play
- 21:29is a mess right now. And this really sucks.
- 21:32I mean for him and for the team, but for him, this would have
- 21:35been his chance. You know, with barred out he
- 21:36could this is chance to be A1C on a team that he's never going
- 21:39to be the one see on because Batard is there.
- 21:41So, you know, could have been a good like development
- 21:43experience. Good for, you know, his fantasy
- 21:45value good for everything. And then he gets injured right
- 21:47away and out for four weeks and by the time he comes back I
- 21:50assume Bedard gonna be close to coming back or already excel.
- 21:53This really sucks for Nazar. If Colton Daca is properly one.
- 21:56He's been a pretty solid banger this year so he could be a
- 21:58deeply go pick up. But I expect that offence to be
- 22:01so dry that. Whole team.
- 22:04I mean, we've already talked about so many of the Chicago
- 22:06guys, like not only with the loss of Bidart, everybody takes
- 22:09a hit. We mentioned Nazar being the
- 22:11only guy that might have a positive from this.
- 22:13Then he gets hurt for a month. So I do not want to any Chicago
- 22:17players right now. It's nobody's interesting to me
- 22:20at all. And if you still have them, they
- 22:22probably lost all their trade you at this point that we've,
- 22:24we've been saying for the last week or two that you need to
- 22:26trade them, trade them, trade them like the guys like
- 22:28Bertuzzi. If you still have them at this
- 22:30point, I don't think anybody's looking to acquire them.
- 22:32So you might just have to cut and move on.
- 22:34Yeah, if you're trying to sell them and you have someone who's
- 22:37like half interested, the strategy you should go with is
- 22:40be like, yeah, but wait, one Bedard gets back, he's gonna
- 22:42start popping off again. Now's your chance to get him for
- 22:44cheap, you know, So that's kind of like the argument I would
- 22:47make for trying to sell, but most likely no ones interested.
- 22:51OK, Brandon Montour is out for a month with an injury.
- 22:54Riker Evans taking his spot on power play 2.
- 22:56It's kind of a split power play, but this kind of just sucks for
- 23:00Seattle. He's one of their best players
- 23:01and sucks for Montour. I know he's been having a rough
- 23:03season so hopefully he'll come back strong, but not much.
- 23:08I'm not picking up Breaker Evans or anything.
- 23:09Like that, no, I think you R stash Montour, but as soon as
- 23:12you need a spot, like let's say you already have a say on your
- 23:15IR, you have Matthew could Chuck and Adam Fox and Montours hurt.
- 23:20You're in the situation where you either just hold a dead spot
- 23:22until Matthew could check comes back, which we expected to be
- 23:25like at this point in a few days or a week Max because he was
- 23:29targeting a December 28 return. And then just IR stash monitor.
- 23:32But if you need the spot, I'm cutting him and moving on.
- 23:34He's really good for shots and blocks, but it comes to the
- 23:37stretches as well as like some weeks he'll be awful, then some
- 23:39weeks he'll have like 3 shots a game and three blocks a game and
- 23:43you're like, what? Who is this guy when you trade
- 23:45him at that point? But yeah, this is just bad for
- 23:48Seattle. Yeah, alright, here's one that
- 23:51Kevin's gonna like. Tristan Jarry is out with a
- 23:54lower body injury. He is out week to week.
- 23:56Calvin Pickard should be the starter in his absence unless
- 23:59Connor Ingram out plays him. So neither one of them, I think,
- 24:01like if they play the same, I think it'll go to Picard.
- 24:03But if any of them plays better than the other, then that one's
- 24:07gonna take it. They've both played one game
- 24:09this past weekend. Both were kind of mid.
- 24:12The thing is the team is good enough that they can make up for
- 24:14having a mid goalie, which is like why did you go and pay all
- 24:17these assets to? Skinner, who's been doing that
- 24:20his whole career for Edmonton. Yeah, exactly right.
- 24:23He won't rehash that, but this is more of a like, who could
- 24:26have seen this coming, you know, but.
- 24:27If you're if you're now a major management fan because we went
- 24:30back and forth into the tick tock comments about that one
- 24:32TikTok and now you're hate watcher or something.
- 24:35I told you so. So so into the tick tock
- 24:38comments. Guys, I was, I was not down bad,
- 24:42but I was frustrated with with the the comments that people
- 24:45were leaving on that Stuart Skinner TikTok we made, which is
- 24:48also an Instagram and YouTube short and real and all that
- 24:51stuff. But yeah, no, I went to war and
- 24:55listen, a week in and I'm already vindicated.
- 24:57So listen, I love that we might know what we're talking about.
- 24:59Who knows? Are you going to pick up rushing
- 25:01to pick up either of these goalies?
- 25:03If I'm desperate for a goalie, then I'll pick up a card.
- 25:06But besides that, like he's not super impressive.
- 25:08And like you said, it's don't want to pick up the card and
- 25:10then Connor Ingram becomes the guy or pick up Connor Ingram and
- 25:14then big hard as the guy. It's like so ambiguous.
- 25:16But if one really outplays the other and you know, Jerry is
- 25:19still out for multiple weeks and you just picked up the start on
- 25:21Edmonton and you're probably getting a guy that's gonna hover
- 25:24around the 900 save percentage right below, but we'll probably
- 25:27win 2/3 of his games. Yeah, let's say exactly it.
- 25:31So I think it's like you said, the tough thing right now is we
- 25:32don't know which ones gonna get it.
- 25:33So you don't really want to like waste an ad or waste any fab
- 25:37bucks or anything like that on grabbing the wrong one.
- 25:40But keep an eye out. If one of them gets like two or
- 25:41three starts in a row, then I'm definitely interested in
- 25:44grabbing him until Jerry comes back.
- 25:47Jonathan Marchessault is day-to-day with a lower body
- 25:50injury. Luke Evangelista taking his spot
- 25:51on power play one. We had already highlighted
- 25:53Evangelista as an interesting pickup and now he's getting the
- 25:57deployment too. I don't know if you saw recently
- 25:59had this sick end to end goal and he's clearly got the talent.
- 26:02He's young, he's should be part of their future.
- 26:05So I like him as a pickup a lot and I wouldn't be surprised if
- 26:08Marcelo coming back doesn't bump him off power play one.
- 26:10They seem to really have lost favor with the with Marsha, so
- 26:13there. Just talked about him on the
- 26:15recent waiver episode. He's the only thing he was
- 26:18messing with power play 1 and this March is so injury just
- 26:21like literally opens the door for that.
- 26:22He might be the only bright spot for Nashville between now and
- 26:25the end of the season. I feel like the guys that are
- 26:27already there, you know, they've they've been maintaining value
- 26:30recently, like O'Reilly has been good, Stamkos has been good,
- 26:33Marshall has been bad, but he's now hurt.
- 26:36So eventually some might be the guy that you want on your roster
- 26:40moving forward if those guys get traded too.
- 26:41So I'm interested if you still available in your league and you
- 26:45don't have like a stack team, I would take the chance on him.
- 26:49Yep. Here's a fun one for me.
- 26:52Darcy Kemper is practicing with the goalie coach.
- 26:54They don't want to confirm when he's back.
- 26:56They said he's probably not playing in the next two games,
- 26:58which is tonight and tomorrow night.
- 27:00The fact that it's even a possibility makes me think he
- 27:02should be back within one to two weeks.
- 27:04So that's really exciting because it was kind of a scary
- 27:06injury and we weren't sure what the timeline would be.
- 27:08And obviously this would bump Anton Forsberg from the starter
- 27:11job again. I mean, the King's just have
- 27:14been so bad lately and Kemper has been like the one bright
- 27:17spot of their season. So obviously as a Kemper owner,
- 27:19I still love having him, but it would be nice if they could get
- 27:22some goal scoring going their way.
- 27:24Yeah, it's tough because Kempers and elite goalie, we talked
- 27:26about last season like he was one of the best value picks in
- 27:29fantasy. Like you were able to get him in
- 27:31the double digit rounds. I think I dropped him in the
- 27:33tenth round or 11th round last year in our fantasy drafts and
- 27:35he was like a top five goalie. His goals against average and
- 27:37his save percentage were only second to Helbock last season
- 27:40and Hellebuyck had an MVP year, so he's really elite when it
- 27:44comes to that. LA has a great defensive system
- 27:46which really helps you succeed, but they just don't score many
- 27:49goals. So you're not really not on a
- 27:51juggernaut team because they're not always get the wins even if
- 27:53you're performing like a like a crazy person.
- 27:55So. Yeah, but I still like him.
- 27:57Persuading, I mean, you still amazing to own, but it's been a
- 28:00bit frustrating. Like he'll put up like a classic
- 28:01Kemper game this year is two goals against like .92 save
- 28:04percentage and then the loss. Yeah.
- 28:07And those like 21. So.
- 28:10So yeah, I know, super exciting for all camper owners.
- 28:12We dodged a bullet there. Lastly, Leo Carlson is
- 28:15day-to-day with an injury. Michael Granlund is taking his
- 28:18spot on line one power play 1. I don't expect this to be
- 28:20anything near long term, very day-to-day, but Grantland has
- 28:23been showing some flashes of being roster worthy, so I'm
- 28:27definitely taking a look at that.
- 28:28I would pick him up while Carlson's out and then you might
- 28:30just end up holding on to him. Yeah, I mean, I was people were
- 28:33asking questions if we were interested in Greenland in the
- 28:35recent past and I was definitely pushing back on that being like,
- 28:39I'm not really interested. Like he's he has some good
- 28:42games, but I don't think it's sustainable.
- 28:44And then this injury just like blows that the door wide open.
- 28:47Like he's he's almost a must roster guy at this point right
- 28:50now given like how much ice time he's going to get.
- 28:52And he has good quality games in him too.
- 28:54Like do I think is the best player in the world?
- 28:55No, but you can't and knocked the opportunity.
- 28:57So Luke Carlson hopefully is not long term, like he's been one of
- 29:01the biggest bright spots this season.
- 29:03Hopefully it's just day-to-day. Maybe they hold him out until
- 29:06the new year. That's a tough.
- 29:06It's like so ambiguous. It's like he might not have to
- 29:09be held out, but then they might do it anyways just for the extra
- 29:11rest. That's it.
- 29:12They're like, oh, we can sit in for like 2 games and that buys
- 29:15them like 2 weeks of rest. So it's oftentimes they just do
- 29:18that. If grandma's available, I'm a
- 29:21lot of those fringe roster guys or guys you picked up for
- 29:23streaming, like I would cut them for grounding.
- 29:26Yeah, All right, let's get into Kevin's famous, would you
- 29:30Rathers? Hopefully you did not peak.
- 29:32I never have, never will. But the OK, so the would you
- 29:37rather segment is the best part of the Bangor management
- 29:41podcast. I cooked these up.
- 29:43I pick 5 would you rathers? I always try to choose one
- 29:46centre and left wing, right wing, defenseman, goalie, and I
- 29:49try to split the line. Usually we're 3.
- 29:51So I try to split Jakey and Josh on separate lines and make them
- 29:54choose each different guy. But today we'll see if Josh and
- 29:58I can split and we'll just discuss these players and it's
- 30:01just a great conversation. So starting, I'm trying to pick
- 30:04some high guys, trying to pick some low guys and some hot topic
- 30:07kind of guys. So nice, let's see how this
- 30:09goes. But starting off hot, this is
- 30:12spicy. Would you rather rest of season?
- 30:15This is kind of like putting a little asterisk on it because
- 30:18I'm calling this the centre position.
- 30:20But would you rather Jack Hughes or Maclin celebrity rest of
- 30:23season? Oh my God, that's a really?
- 30:25These are studs. Guys.
- 30:27These are studs. Jackie just came back.
- 30:29We know he's a high volume shooter.
- 30:31He's one of the best players in the league when healthy.
- 30:35That's a real celebrity. Been one of the best players
- 30:37this season. Let me take a quick look but at
- 30:40the stats. But this is real.
- 30:42Oh my God. It's it's actually really really
- 30:46close. I want to use the F word there
- 30:47but did not. Yeah, OK, so let's try and think
- 30:50of it category by category shots.
- 30:52I'm giving the edge to Jack Hughes, but it's not like a game
- 30:55breaker. It's like let's say celebrates a
- 30:573.63.7 and he will be like a four.
- 31:00So but give him the edge there. Face off wins.
- 31:02I'll give the edge to hues because of his dual eligibility.
- 31:05So even though he gets fewer, the fact he gets them from a
- 31:07winger position, he's not great at them.
- 31:09But obviously a lot of leagues don't count that.
- 31:11And then hits and blocks. Neither of them are relevant at
- 31:13shorties, neither relevant at power play.
- 31:16Celebrating is at .4 over the past month.
- 31:18And .4 is kind of where I would expect us to be as well.
- 31:20So if I had to give the edge to one, I would give the edge to
- 31:23Hughes because I trust the New Jersey power play more than San
- 31:25Jose. So let's give him the edge
- 31:27there. Then overall points, that one's
- 31:31going to be close. I think I have to lean Hughes
- 31:34just because it seems like every category I'm giving him like the
- 31:36slight edge, but it's super, super, super close.
- 31:39Yeah, I think there's this playoff, playoff schedule come
- 31:43into. Play in the.
- 31:44Playoffs, yeah, I think and I think we've just seen Jacques
- 31:48doing for so long and how elite he is.
- 31:51Does the injury squishiness, quote UN quote come into play
- 31:54for you? Is that like a deal breaker?
- 31:55Would that make you choose celebrating just because of
- 31:57Jacques has dinner every night and that's always an injury
- 32:00risk? I mean, that's really fair.
- 32:04I do think actually like 1 aspect that's kind of like a big
- 32:07advantage for Hughes is that position eligibility.
- 32:10Like it's eligibility because like a lot of leagues you see
- 32:12like every time we talk our waiver episode, right, we're
- 32:15saying how some of these like pure seems like it's crazy.
- 32:17They're not owned more into because they're C is, right.
- 32:19So just having hues and being able to slot him into like a
- 32:21winger position and then being able to grab one like the
- 32:24replacement value, etc, I think is higher.
- 32:26So I think that that outdoes any squishiness value.
- 32:30And to me, I mean, I'm also going to.
- 32:32You shouldn't really split the difference here, but I think it
- 32:34was worth the conversation. Pretty close.
- 32:36No, that's super close. I think also another thing
- 32:38that's in the huge column is that the players that is playing
- 32:41with like he's playing with Jasper, Brad, Nico, Hischier,
- 32:43Timo Meyer and then whichever defensive ends up on power play
- 32:47one like he has some star quality next to him, which
- 32:50always means I feel like it gives him the edge in terms of
- 32:52like potential points like somebody else can make a play.
- 32:54He can get a secondary assist on that, whereas celebrity, like
- 32:57he's an insane player himself, but he's not playing with
- 33:01anybody close to any of those caliber players so.
- 33:03Well, John Klingberg. And I love my boy William
- 33:08Ecklin, but he's not there yet, so.
- 33:09Yeah, no, I fully agree. So yeah, gotta go Hughes, but
- 33:13it's a it's surprisingly close. If Jake was here he would
- 33:15definitely pick Macklin celebrity because he has
- 33:17celebrity on his fantasy team so.
- 33:19I'll call that flooding this place.
- 33:20Yeah, I'll give it to you. Alright, this next one might be
- 33:23hot, it might be not. So I'm actually curious where
- 33:25you land, but that was kind of like a doctors use rhyme a
- 33:29little bit. Yeah, talking defensemen here.
- 33:32Everybody's favorite recent pickup?
- 33:34Darren Radish or Shane Foster spare rest of season.
- 33:39Wow. OK, that's a, that's a really
- 33:42good one. That's.
- 33:44Gospel still one of the top defensemen point earners this
- 33:47season, which I feel like he's going under the radar.
- 33:49He's just the type of guy that nobody gives him credit when
- 33:52he's when he deserves it. Darren Raddysh has been sick for
- 33:54Tampa, but he's got the looming Victor Hedman that we don't
- 33:57think he gets power play 1 back. But listen, it's definitely a
- 34:00question. OK, I think I have, I have my
- 34:04decision and it might be shocking, but I like this
- 34:08because you picked 2 guys that I'm both think are
- 34:11overperforming. Yeah, they what they should be
- 34:13doing. So it's like they're very kind
- 34:14of similar in that sense. Like I would be selling high if
- 34:17I had either of them, but I'm actually gonna go with Radish
- 34:20over there. And I know, I know it's like
- 34:22might seem crazy, but I think they're very similar archetype
- 34:25of player. I think if I had to give the
- 34:26edge to one of them in terms of back cats, I would go to Radish
- 34:29over Agosto spare and then in terms of pure points, I think
- 34:32probably godparents up with more.
- 34:34I think the biggest difference is the power play.
- 34:36I think that radish is on one of the best power plays in the
- 34:38league in Tampa and Carolina is year after year just has an
- 34:41awful tower place. So that's a big difference.
- 34:43And then obviously you have to factor in the whole headman
- 34:45question to me. I really I really think gratis
- 34:48just as powerfully one rest of the year.
- 34:49So I'm I'm valuing him as that. I kind of temp, I tampered
- 34:54sizzle. What am I trying to say?
- 34:56Like a slow down. OK.
- 34:58Yeah, slow down on the radish type because in the back of my
- 35:02mind I'm like, guys, it's still Victor Hedman and we've seen him
- 35:05before. Like if what he wants, he gets.
- 35:08I feel like there's no world where he comes back and it's
- 35:10just like, I wanna be power play one of the coaches.
- 35:11No, says no. So I just feel like even if
- 35:14Radish is over performing or doing well, in the back of my
- 35:18mind, Hedman comes back, he's healthy, finally healthy and not
- 35:22doesn't have any nagging injury. And it's just like, well, I'm
- 35:25the power play one guy and then that's it, you know?
- 35:28And then Radish loses all his value if he gets bumped off.
- 35:31Whereas I'm not worried about Ghosts not being the quarterback
- 35:33for the foreseeable future unless they trade for somebody.
- 35:36Yeah, so that's completely true. Is that Ghost has the safer
- 35:39floor for sure because Radish could, if they've had me, comes
- 35:42back and bumps him all of a sudden, he's literally a drop,
- 35:44whereas Ghost is going to secure that and be a hold all season.
- 35:47But the upside, right, it's a lot higher.
- 35:49So it really comes down to do you believe that had been coming
- 35:52back is gonna bump Radish off Power Play 1?
- 35:54And I think Radish is going to keep it.
- 35:56But I wouldn't fall to you for believing the other one, because
- 35:59at the end of the day it is Victor Hedman and it makes no
- 36:01sense that this happened in the first place.
- 36:02But if we could, if we could categorize it like this, like
- 36:06Jimmy Radish for like the next month and then like make the
- 36:08swap to ghost Gossip spare. That's kind of like how I view
- 36:11it. But also like, I'd rather, it's
- 36:13almost like if I had to pick one, I'm stuck with the rest of
- 36:16the season, give me gossip spare.
- 36:17But if I had one of my fantasy team, I'd like to have Radish
- 36:20because then I could have the potential like to sell him for
- 36:22somebody else. You know, like, yeah, he does
- 36:24have, he's got more value in the immediate future.
- 36:26If you're able to capitalize on that and sell him for somebody
- 36:28that like has more staying power than you probably end up in a
- 36:31better situation. So.
- 36:32Yeah, in my mind, they're both sell highs, so yeah, yeah.
- 36:36All right, going to #3 we're talking right wingers, and this
- 36:42feels like a hot topic in itself.
- 36:44I've got a lot of questions about both of these guys, so
- 36:46hopefully you've been seeing the same thing, but.
- 36:48We're your volume is a bit a bit low?
- 36:51My volume is a bit low. Hello, is that better?
- 36:56It's still a bit low. OK, well I did not change
- 36:59anything so. It had done it a bit at the
- 37:02beginning of it had gone like load, but then it bounced right
- 37:04back to high and then it was high the whole time, but now
- 37:06it's a bit low like. Is it like you can't hear me
- 37:08properly like? It's just like quiet.
- 37:12I mean, I could just like, yeah, I don't know why that's weird.
- 37:18Like I'm getting a lot of like static on your end and and then
- 37:21it's a bit quiet. Yeah, I hear you.
- 37:22Hold on one second. Hmm, it just changed.
- 37:27Yeah, like I say, I had done that like briefly at the
- 37:31beginning, but it was like super short and came back to being
- 37:33good. So then no, I didn't say
- 37:35anything. That's weird.
- 37:36OK, well, I'm just gonna keep going and then I'll place in the
- 37:38editing. But can you hear me properly?
- 37:41Yeah, I can hear you. I just have to ignore the
- 37:43static, but that's fine. I have no idea what happened.
- 37:46Yeah, it's all good. Alright, get back to it.
- 37:48You're saying the right wingers? We're talking about right
- 37:51wingers. Both of these guys were hot
- 37:53topics in themselves, it feels like.
- 37:55But I wanna discuss Troy Terry versus Alex Tuck.
- 38:00Wow, that's a really good one. So I, I like that a lot.
- 38:06OK, well, immediately I can you know, I know what they're both
- 38:09their strengths are right. You're looking at back cats is
- 38:12100% Alex Tuck. He's gonna be better at I mean
- 38:15like the the shots could be similar cause there is a decent
- 38:18shooter, but hits and blocks and Pimms, it's easily Alex Tuck.
- 38:23And then I know Alex has been putting up the points.
- 38:25I don't trust it because he doesn't have that play on
- 38:27deployment and I don't think he's gonna get it.
- 38:29I think Terry's gonna have more points and Terry gets
- 38:31shorthanded points this year, which is pretty, pretty huge and
- 38:33leaks that count that. So all that together, I'm
- 38:37actually taking Troy Terry over Alex Tuck, but I could see Talk
- 38:41having more trade value right now.
- 38:42I think that's a great sell high and uh yeah, that's kind of how
- 38:45I see it. I really like Troy Terry.
- 38:47I feel like. Do you hear me right now?
- 38:50Yeah. OK, perfect.
- 38:51I really love Troy Terry because it feels like his deployment is
- 38:55set and he's playing with good quality players and he's one of
- 38:58those guys that is always I feel like the name value doesn't
- 39:02match with actual production and Alex Tucker feel like it's the
- 39:05opposite. I feel like his name value
- 39:06carries him more than his actual production and his deployment
- 39:09just doesn't match the production that he has like he's
- 39:10been alive for a long time. So I'm leaning, I think, Troy
- 39:16Cherry in any league that does not have shorthanded points.
- 39:21You'd prefer you think Terry's better than Tucker shorties.
- 39:24I know, but last year Tuck was way better.
- 39:27So I'm like giving him the the the his historical like value of
- 39:31like being good at those. Yeah, but Terry is better this
- 39:34year. So I would say just like
- 39:36regardless, I would go Terry overtime.
- 39:38Also and I've had a stretch where they got like 5 shorties
- 39:40and like 3 games and I. Feel like yeah.
- 39:42Bring their value for a. Long time, that's true.
- 39:43That's true. But him and Leo Carlson on
- 39:45Shorthanded are pretty nice together.
- 39:47It's really close. I think I'm going try terribly
- 39:49like. Overall nice.
- 39:52All right, now we're gonna talk left wingers.
- 39:55OK, so are two guys that you know, one starting to get hot
- 39:58again and one is also starting to get hot?
- 40:00Again so. I wanted to discuss Pavel
- 40:04Dorothea V play GOAT versus Zach Hyman of the Edmonton Oilers.
- 40:11I still gotta go Hyman on this one.
- 40:13I even though, like I think that Dora Phev can reach Hyman like
- 40:17levels, but Hyman is already Hyman like so I think it could
- 40:23end the season and it ends up being a toss up, but I'd rather
- 40:26have like the safer bet. Like we just saw.
- 40:28I mean, you can say for both, right, But like we just saw
- 40:30Dorff be awful for like a month and a half to two months, But
- 40:34obviously we saw human be awful for an entire year last year.
- 40:36So so it goes. It goes both ways, but I just
- 40:38feel a lot safer. Well, McDavid and Draisaitl are
- 40:41doing is just absurd. And as good as the Vegas power
- 40:44play is, especially Jack Michaels gonna come back and
- 40:46they'll have the whole gang back together.
- 40:48It's just it's it's too good of a position, that dimension.
- 40:53I just, I can't bet against anyone on that Edmonton power
- 40:55play not getting more power play points.
- 40:58Like McDavid is averaging a full power play point per game.
- 41:01I know two other guys are getting in on no for sure, but I
- 41:04mean, that's over the past month.
- 41:06That's a pretty long period of time, like obviously.
- 41:08Though and at the end of averaging out at like .4 point
- 41:1145. And the admin is not the guy
- 41:13that's gonna be averaging .45 either.
- 41:15No hymen I could see getting like .35 and or if I could see
- 41:18getting like .3. Like it's not gonna be like that
- 41:21different. I'm just I feel like a lot safer
- 41:22in hymen shots. I would give Dorsey of the edge
- 41:25and then hits I would give him in the edge.
- 41:28I I only know hymen as well just because I think the hits
- 41:31definitely adds to his. You know, no player archetype
- 41:35and I do think the situation is safer.
- 41:37Like you said. We just saw the repair get
- 41:39bumped down to line 3 and be awful for over a month and when
- 41:43it's clicking, he's clicking like he's one of the best goal
- 41:45scorers in the league. It feels like he can score from
- 41:47anywhere in his shot is nasty. Specifically on the power play.
- 41:50He's a trigger man there. So I'm not worried about the
- 41:53power play deployment, but it's 55 deployment is definitely
- 41:56subject to moving depending on how the team is going and who's
- 41:59helping, who's not. So I think Hyman has a safe
- 42:01floor with already being somewhat close in value already.
- 42:04So yeah, I think I go Hyman. Yeah, All right, let's take us
- 42:09home with this goalie. Alright, discussing goalies I I
- 42:13thought this would be fun because this is arguably the two
- 42:16best goalie rooms in the league, but would you rather yes per
- 42:20Walstead or. Scott Wedgewood.
- 42:23The bone. Bees.
- 42:25Yeah, that's unreal. That's a really tough we saw, I
- 42:30think. 4 shutouts in six games and he's yeah, but he's playing
- 42:34less right now. It's like Gus is playing just as
- 42:36good and running with the job. It feels like that was already
- 42:39his to begin with. Scott Yeah.
- 42:41Carried the team, had the the locker room in the palm of his
- 42:45hand, then got her. Blackwood came back, started
- 42:48playing well again. They were like alternating
- 42:50shutouts as well. So where?
- 42:53Where do you see the situation? I've got to go with Wedgwood on
- 42:58this one and the main reason is first of all, Walstead is
- 43:02starting every 3rd game now instead of going back and forth
- 43:05and I don't see any situation barring injury where Walstead
- 43:09gets more than half the starts. In terms of Wedgwood and
- 43:12Blackwood, I think that Blackwood is way more squishy,
- 43:17so I would not be shocked in the slightest if he gets injured
- 43:20again at some point this year, in which case Wedgewood becomes
- 43:22the starter. Obviously you can say it goes
- 43:23both ways right? Where like Wedgwood is also
- 43:25squishier than Walstead, so so you can see it that way, but I
- 43:29just think that Wedgewood has a clear shot at getting more
- 43:32starts than Walstead and I think the quality is going to be
- 43:34comparable. Yeah, I think it really comes
- 43:37down to who you think starts more games rest of season.
- 43:40Yeah. And you gotta give the edge to
- 43:42Wedgewood after everything we've seen this season and how they're
- 43:45currently playing and, you know, the goal you rotation that
- 43:47they've had. I think Wedgwood is safer to get
- 43:50more games. But also whoever gets injured in
- 43:53front of them, the other guy becomes a league winner.
- 43:55Like if Gus gets injured while starting everything, he's
- 43:58insane. If Blackwood gets hurt,
- 43:59Wedgewood, we saw what he can do already.
- 44:01Like in the first two months of the season he was the best goal
- 44:03in fantasy so. Yeah, but if I had to bet which
- 44:06one get injured, it's more likely to be Blackwood.
- 44:09Yeah, so, but you can't, you can't, you don't bank your
- 44:13fantasy championship on potentially who's getting hurt.
- 44:16So what do you think is giving you better quality in the near
- 44:20future? I think it's very similar.
- 44:24I don't you're gonna be unhappy with either, but I will give the
- 44:26edge to wall set on that and just well, Minnesota is doing
- 44:29defensively as well as offensively.
- 44:30It's just unreal. Like Colorado, not that they're
- 44:32bad defensively either, but they very much are just like we can
- 44:35outscore anything if we need to, you know, because we're that
- 44:37good. Whereas with Minnesota, it just
- 44:39seems like every game like they're letting in like Max two
- 44:42goals, but mostly just shut outs in one goal games.
- 44:44So it's so I'll give quality to Walstead, but I'll give quantity
- 44:47to Wedgewood. And I think the quantity
- 44:49difference is bigger than the quality difference.
- 44:51I'm on the same page so listen did not really split the
- 44:54difference on any of these between.
- 44:55The two of those are all really good ones.
- 44:56I thought they were all super close and worth having the
- 44:59conversation and hopefully everybody was able to gather
- 45:02some extra insight on these guys.
- 45:03And if you're on your rosters, maybe you have a better idea of
- 45:05how to value them and maybe what you can do with them.
- 45:07And if you don't have these guys on your roster, then maybe you
- 45:09can make a swap. Yeah.
- 45:11Yeah, a lot of good thoughts out there, but I guess that wraps it
- 45:15up for this episode. Yeah, if you guys made it this
