- 1:03SPEAKER_00: What that really looks like.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: We like to talk about getting in our bag.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: We like to talk about looking good on the outside.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: But are we really paying focus on what's happening on the inside?
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Our mental and our physical inside.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Let's clear the clutter.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Cleansing your body and your mind.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: That's a part of being healthy so that you can see your wealth, right?
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Because come on, let's face it.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: What's the point of stacking your paper, building your career, building your business, doing all this stuff, making sure you're modifying your outside?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're priming and we proper.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: We doing everything we need to do on the outside, but the inside is still messed up from head to toe.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: So welcome back to Run Your Mobile Podcast with your girl key.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna dive into it.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Because we work too hard to build a life we're too exhausted to enjoy.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Y'all ever heard the terms, and I'm sure you have.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: But then we look around, and our labor has lasted our entire life.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And we realize we never stop laboring.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: We never stop working, we never stop driving that success force to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: We talk about making money, growing our businesses, taking care of our families, and reaching that next goal all the time.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: You hear it all the time, even before social media.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: It was drilled into our heads.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, get a good job, go to college, get an education, set aside some money, save, build a house, buy a house, blase, blase.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: But where do we fit into the picture?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: When we do stop and ask ourselves, how am I doing?
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Physically and mentally and emotionally, through all of that, where do we actually fit in that picture when we are building all these milestones for ourselves, and we never really stop and enjoy the fruits of our labor?
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So today I'm gonna talk to you about cleansing the body and mind, making room for better habits, paying attention to what we take in, what we carry, and what we need to release.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself, what am I holding on to that is making it harder to care for myself?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say that again.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself, what are you holding on to that is making it harder for you to care for yourself?
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Keep that question with you as I carry on running my mouth.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Because we gotta care for the body, right?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Also, we gotta care for the mind in order to keep going and keep building that generational wealth and keep working and keep doing all this stuff that we are doing.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: We gotta take care of self.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: First, let's be clear about the word cleanse.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: As a clinician, I'm gonna always give you the scientific version of cleansing because you know your kidneys does that, right?
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Your kidneys already remove waste from the body.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: These commercial detox teas, juice cleanses, and extreme fasting, they don't have really convincing evidence that it removes toxins from your body.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: That's what they tell us, right?
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: But does it really?
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And some can actually be harmful.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: You can actually do too many herbal teas, you can have too much of anything, and it can be harmful to your body on the inside.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Because if your kidney was already designed to cleanse, do you really need to always do an exacerbated cleanse to your body?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Think about what it might be doing on the flip side.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Too much of anything is not good, so we're using all these cleansing agents and resetting our daily habits with cleansing agents, but are we really resetting our daily habits?
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Because we can't cleanse, we can't um cleanse forever, right?
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: We can't use a tea forever that's a detox tea that has um multiple herbs is that's gonna shock.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: We can't do that every day.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So ask yourself again, what is caring for your body actually look like on an ordinary Tuesday or ordinary Friday or ordinary Saturday if that's I detox?
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: But I don't do it every day, it's not something I'm taking every day because it's not common sense to shock your body with something so drastic every day.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: And if I'm taking care of my inside often, I really don't have to detox often because the kidney's gonna do what it's supposed to do.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: So do you make time to eat?
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Did you spend your whole day taking care of everybody else but didn't take care of yourself?
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Did you make time to drink some water?
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Are you drinking enough water?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: A couple of bottles and your Stanley Cup is not gonna work.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: You gotta drink enough water to actually feel the benefits.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Did you give yourself an opportunity to rest?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Or did you just keep pushing, pushing, and pushing?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Like there was always one more thing to do.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Get off work and you work again.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: We s we we all strolling on social media doing the most.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: We're not resting our bodies.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Have we been putting off appointments?
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Because work feels so urgent.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: We just gotta get up and we just gotta go to our job.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: We gotta make sure we're there.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: We gotta make this money, we gotta do this, we gotta do that.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: What is all that gonna benefit you when you're not around and do it?
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: When you're in your car and you haven't taken time to take care of yourself and you haven't eaten right, you haven't drank water, you haven't actually had rest, you haven't had a mental reset, and you're sitting at the red light and you have a heart attack.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: You won't make it to your job, but that's a job that you found so important that you couldn't take care of yourself.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: And I know we live in a world where we have to pay bills, we have to depend on our everyday resources, jobs, this, that, and the third, because we don't bar the fruits and stones anymore.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: We're in a we're in a monetary world.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: So yes, we have to make money, but do we have to make that the source of our every being where we can't do anything else?
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: We don't take time to sit outside, we don't read to our kids, we don't play, we don't absorb the sun, we don't take a brisk walk, we don't come home and go to sleep on time because we're busy worrying about the next day's work or the business.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: We don't take time to focus on the future that lies inside of us because we're so busy looking at right now.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Do we ask ourselves those questions?
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Maybe your first step is preparing a balanced meal before you shift, before you go to work, meal prep.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Meal prep.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Save yourself some time, know what you're eating.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Don't go every day going to fast food restaurants.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: That might be a part of your balance.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's keeping water available.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: If you don't have your Stanley cup, or whatever cup men take, a lot of women like these Stanley cups.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I don't see too many men running around with big Stanley cups.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: It's it's kind of looking like it's a woman thing, but your thermal or whatever y'all pack y'all water and drink saying, if that's not enough, keep your case in your trunk.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: You know, a couple bottle waters, you know.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: It's it's um always been said that you shouldn't keep it in your car overnight because of the toxins that release from the plastic.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: But take it out if you don't drink all of it, but keep some in your car, put it back in there the next morning.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Make sure you have enough hydration.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's just taking a simple walk or choosing another kind of movement that fits your abilities.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's finally putting that appointment on the calendar.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Men, put that prostate on the calendar, men, women, don't just keep accepting menopause has to make you have hot flashes, and it has to make you lose hair, and it has to make you feel bloated and constipated and tired.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's just a part of it.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, it has to make me feel this way.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Put that appointment on the calendar.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Go get you some labs, go find out what you're missing because it may be something as simple as you need to take more magnesium, you need to take more vitamin D, you need to take more vitamin C, you need to take more vitamin E.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: You need to go outside, you need to walk more, you need to move more.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: It could be as simple as that to balance what you are accepting as a norm.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: It's not normal, it's just your imbalance.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: There's no prize for making yourself a part of your self-care.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: It's not complicated.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: And you can't keep going and forget about yourself.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: You should be a part of your self-care every single day.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Don't let people tell you anything different.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Everything out here that we're doing, everything that we see, everything that we aim for, it's revolving.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: You only get one you.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: And please take the shame out of this conversation.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Having a health condition doesn't mean you failed.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Needing rest doesn't make you lazy.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: Your body deserves care at every size and every stage.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: There are multiple, multiple people who are dealing with complications and health issues that honestly they can't combat alone.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: You have people who look on the outside as obese, but they're dealing with something internal that's causing that buildup of cortisol.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times y'all is stressed.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're gonna talk about that on another day.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: But think about this.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: What is the one thing you can care for in your body today with time and resources that you actually have?
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say that again.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: What is the one thing you can care for in your body today with time and resources that you actually have?
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: You can clear your mind.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Everybody has a moment where they can clear their mind.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Now let's talk about it.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: We can be very selective about what goes on our plates while allowing almost anything into our attention.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: We get on social media and we absorb, we consume ourselves with scrolling and reading and watching, and we put all that into our mental.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: And we wake up and now we have that on our mind every day.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Let's do a reality check.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Before you've even had a quiet moment to sit down and think about what you're gonna do for your day.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: We start worrying about what everybody else is doing for their day.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Take some time for yourself.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Read, sit in a quiet space, don't let everybody's problem become your problem, don't wander off in the space, focus and maintain your inner self-peace.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Then you can start building your health that will keep you around for your wealth.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Don't carry the noise of other people's problems into your day.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: We often do that.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: We worry and we think and we concern ourselves with everything going on around us, and we carry it with us all day.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: And then we start feeling guilty when we want to just focus on us, and you want to just focus on what's going on with you.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Life can make you feel guilty, right?
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: That's that toxic trait of not taking care of yourself first.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Be unapologetic about taking care of you and involving you in your self-care.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: I want you to notice something.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Notice your own experience.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: How do you feel after certain conversations?
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: After you scroll, read, get engulfed in what something that you don't have nothing to do with, don't know nothing about, after repeatedly checking on something you can't control.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: We can't control what happened to Nolan Wells.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: But all of us have gotten engulfed in it.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: It made us sick to our stomach.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Something deep down inside of us felt some type of way, and we we just we can't shake it because we know it's wrong.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: We got so involved, and we had so little control.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And what does that do?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Stresses you out, turns up something on the inside of you that makes you forget to eat, forget to drink water, because you you're reading every article, you're worrying about every outcome, and now you found yourself five, six hours in, and you haven't even eaten, you haven't taken a breather, you've just been caught up, but we had no control.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: We don't have to answer every message immediately.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I have that problem.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: I used to always feel like I need to answer my text, make sure I pick up or or is rude or is disrespectful, but then I realize no, people don't do it for you.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: You don't have to answer them immediately, you don't have to participate in every argument.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: You don't care about what somebody else thinks more than you care about what you think about the whole outcome of the situation.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: You can care about the world and still choose when you take in the news.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: We definitely gonna care.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: We are definitely going to care about what happens with our babies, what happened with Nolan, what happened with the next child that was murdered or unalived or whatever word they want to use, death without cause.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: We're gonna care about all the unsolved cases, but are we gonna get consumed to the point where we stop taking care of ourselves?
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Try giving yourself a little room before the day starts.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Asking things of you, before the day starts asking you to do this, do that, read this, read that, comment on this, comment on that, make this deadline, do this, do that, take a breather, breathe in, breathe out, breathe in and breathe out.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Give yourself some room before the day starts asking things of you.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Sit quietly.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: I give myself five minutes every morning, just sit and talk to God, pray, cry if I want to, yell if I want to, and sometimes I just sit there and I take in all the things that I am blessed with, all the things I've lost, all the things I've I've gained, all the lessons learned because it's a lesson in everything I do, and I think you should adapt that mindset.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: When you lose that job, when you lose that man, lose that whatever it is, that house, that car, whatever it is, it's a it's a learning experience.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: It's a lesson in that.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: You know how to move differently, you know how to shop differently, you know how to accept and and maintain grief and mourning.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: We all have been through it.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Every person on this earth has lost somebody at some point in their life, and we have to learn how to maintain that grief and maintain our mourning.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Don't stop.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: You have every right to do it, but you have to make sure that it doesn't creep up into your space and consume all of your space.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: You don't have that much space, people, you don't have that much time, people, to get so wrapped up in the noise of what you can't control, that it consumes your well-being.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: It doesn't really matter what you look like on the outside.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: If your inside is corrupt and your inside is broken, your inside is damaged and your inside is not peaceful, it's gonna reflect in your health eventually.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Because that's just the way the body works.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Pay attention to how you speak to yourself, speak over yourself.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Y'all heard that old saying, speak over yourself, encourage yourself when you wake up in the morning.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Speak over yourself.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: You don't need to log on and have 50,000 people follow you, you don't need to log on and see if a hundred thousand people shared your posts.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: You don't need to log on to social media and see who how many likes you got and counting them.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: Child, speak over yourself, encourage yourself and keep going because somebody saw it, somebody bought it, somebody poured into it, somebody disliked it, somebody talked about it, but at the end of the day, it didn't affect you and what you got going on inside of you, and what you're pouring out for you, and what you spoke over you.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: So speak over yourself.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Would you tell someone you love you're behind?
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: You never get anything right, you should have done more by now.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: No, but we hear it often, right?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: People tell you what you should be doing, or I would do this, or I would do that.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Then why keep rehearsing those words about yourself?
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: If somebody told you that, but you know you wouldn't tell somebody else that you should be doing this.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Or if I was you, I would go take this, I would do this, I would take this class, I would do this, I would do this career, I would do that.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: If you wouldn't say that to yourself, don't keep rehearsing it and don't say it to nobody else.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: If somebody has said it to you, let it go.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Don't keep playing that in your head what somebody else thought of you.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Speak over yourself.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: You can acknowledge a mistake without turning it into your identity.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: You can say, I need to change this habit or that's that habit while still treating yourself with respect.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: It's nothing wrong with not always being perfect.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: I do it every day.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: And I hear and you know, I'll I'll I'll listen, and you've made that a best practice to see the best of you and give out the best of you on a daily, somebody else trying to dim your light will not even, it won't even touch you, and you won't keep rehearsing in the back of your head what somebody else thinks about you.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: It would not matter.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Because what thoughts keep taking up space in your mind also takes up space in your spirit, and it begins to take up space in your health.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: You can't give it that much thought.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: You gotta keep moving forward, release emotional weight.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Some of the things that we carry needs more than a quiet morning.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: We carry grief, we carry disappointment, we carry anger, we carry relationships that change, situations that we would never get an explanation for.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: We'll never get that apology sometimes.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: We'll never get that explanation for why people are like they are when they're not good people.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: We'll never get that explanation for why he cheated.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: You may never get that explanation for why she cheated.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: You may never get that explanation for why mama or daddy didn't do this or do that.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: You may never get it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: But we tend to carry that grief.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: And a silent five-minute morning ain't gonna fix that.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: You gotta do something else.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: You can be busy, you can be still, you still gonna be hurting.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: You can be successful, you can be wealthy, and you still will need support, and you still won't be healthy because you're tore up inside, you're tore up mentally.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: So cleansing the mind doesn't mean pretending those feelings aren't there.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Yes, they're there.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: And to cleanse your mind is not to forget it.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: It's learn how to adapt and learn how to adjust and move on.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: It means making room to acknowledge them.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Every problem, every pain, every issue, every loss, and deciding what support or boundaries you need.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Do I really need everybody praying for me?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Do I really need everybody to hear my problem?
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Do I really need to share everything?
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Do you really need to lash out on everybody just because your day was bad day before?
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: Do you need to bring the baggage that you have from relationships 10, 15 years ago, five, six weeks ago, last month into your new situation?
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Maybe you just need an honest conversation with yourself or someone you trust.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: And that first someone should be yourself.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need to write something down.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: I love journaling.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Keep a journal.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: And before you know how to say it, you've already practiced and rehearsed it.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need a counselor.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Therapy works, y'all.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you just need a walk through the park.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Something that deflects what's going on in your mind right now, in your heart, to help you get through whatever's affecting your daily life.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Prayer can be meaningful and professional support can have a place alongside of it.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with getting therapy and also being in a spiritual realm, being a Christian or whatever denomination you believe in.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: There's nothing wrong with seeking help here on this earth and also being a child of God.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: So many people believe that, oh, if I just give it, if I just give it to God, maybe God wanted you to talk to somebody else.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't have all these people here with all these professions if he didn't give you what you need.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: God gave us everything we need.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: And sometimes what we need is another person.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: He sent you that person, he sent you that counselor, he sent you that quiet moment, he sent you that peace on earth before you came, had to bring the problem to him.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Maybe he wanted you to go over here.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: And some of us get that gun saying deviations and help.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: That's his plan.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about boundaries too.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: A boundary might sound like I can talk tomorrow, but I need to rest tonight.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Or I care about you, but I can't take on that responsibility.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Or I'm willing to have this conversation when we can speak respectfully.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: I ain't gotta argue and go back and forth with nobody.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: I don't have to always make your emergency my emergency.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: You don't have to give a long speech every time you recognize a limit.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: And letting go doesn't mean forcing yourself to forgive before you're ready.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Reconnecting with someone unsafe or forgetting that what happened or what they did to you.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: That's not setting boundaries.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: That's that's that's lying to yourself.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: You can decide what access someone has to your life while you work through your feelings.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Cut people off.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: You ain't gotta cut them off forever if you don't want to.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: But cut people off while you work through what you're going through.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Think about how they talk to you, think about how they made you feel, think about how that affects your health and how that affects your mental and your day-to-day.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: And maybe you need to just cut them off.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself, is there something I keep agreeing to that leaves me with too little time or energy to care for myself?
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: What do I keep accepting that's making me feel some type of way?
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself that.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: No, I can't drive 45 miles in the rain just to come to your event knowing I gotta get up and go to work at 5 o'clock in the morning.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Boundaries.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: Be honest.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: That answer may show you where your boundary belongs.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Take a moment and reset.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: If you're driving, keep your eyes on the road.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: If you're somewhere comfortable, let your shoulders relax and breathe normally.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: Take a slow, comfortable breath.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: If that feels good to you, there's nothing you have to solve in this moment.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: You don't have to talk about nothing.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: You ain't gotta tell nobody nothing.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: You ain't gotta share nothing.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: You just gotta have that moment.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself, what does my body need today?
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: What has been taking up too much of my attention?
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: What is one thing I can make simpler this week?
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: And your answers don't have to impress nobody but you.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need lunch.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need to stop checking in on the person's page that pissed you off or you argued with last week.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need help.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe you need an evening with nothing scheduled.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Do nothing.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Don't turn on the TV, don't answer your phone.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Sit outside.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: Look up at the sky.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Count the stars.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Feel the breeze.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Whatever it is, ask yourself these questions.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: What do you need for you?
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: The point is to notice what you need.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: You notice what you need.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Nobody else has to tell you.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: Nobody else has to validate it.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Nobody else has to comment.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself what it is that you need.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: And then give that need place in your day or your week.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: And say, here's my challenge for the week.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Choose one action for your body and for your mind.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: For your body, it may be planning a meal, setting aside time to rest, scheduling a checkup, or making room for movement.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Go take a walk and enjoy it.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: You ain't got to run a marathon.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: Just take a walk.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: For your mind, it may be turning off unnecessary notifications.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Writing in your journal.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Or writing on the index card, whatever works for you.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: Setting a boundary.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not going to listen to this person for two hours, complain about the man that they keep going back to.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: No, I ain't going to pick up the phone and answer her, knowing that she's toxic as hell.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: And she just gonna keep on turning me around in this circle.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: I'm not reaching out to support nobody that's not supporting me.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: I'm not breaking my neck to do nothing.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: Make your choices specific.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: Instead of I'm gonna take better care of myself.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Try on Friday.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna call and schedule my appointment.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Instead of I'm going to stop stressing, try on Friday.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: I'm putting my phone away while I eat.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Hmm, that's a good one, y'all.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Put that phone away while you're eating at the dinner table, out in the restaurants.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Put them down.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: You ain't gotta have a conversation with the person you're eating with.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Eat your food.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Eat it slow.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Let the saliva mix up in it.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: And maybe you won't have gird, heartburn, all these other health issues.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: If you just eat your food, stop talking, stop scrolling on your phone, stop eating so fast.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: Just eat your food.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Drink some water.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Start with something you can repeat.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: And if a day doesn't go as planned, return to it the next day without punishing yourself.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: If you can't go two hours or 24 hours without scrolling Facebook or social media or posting or something, try 30 minutes.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: Try an hour.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: If you absolutely have no reason, I mean I'm not saying what your reason is, because everybody has something different that motivates them.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: But if skits and content is a part of your life and that's what you need to do, but it's consuming your whole life, and you actually look around and you see that you're not making any money and you're not doing anything else productive, it's consuming you, it's stressing you out, and you're gonna eventually be caught up.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: Scale back because don't convince yourself that if I make a thousand skits a day that I'm gonna become a millionaire if you're absolutely posting about nothing.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Don't don't don't get yourself caught up in that.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: Relax your mind, find your body, find your spirit, find your internal and your external health, and work around it.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Because we all have responsibilities, and not everybody's responsibilities look like get rich quick.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: Some seasons give us less freedom than others, but our needs still belong in the conversation.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: You still have to take care of yourself, whether it's your business, their business, or somebody else's business.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: You still gotta take care of yourself to maintain being able to do that.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: And as you build your business, raise your family, work your shifts, or pursue your next goal, remember to ask.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: Am I making space to enjoy this life too?
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: Or are you just making space for somebody else to enjoy the fruits of your labor?
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: The fruits of your labor may be a trip, a home, or financial breathing.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: That may be the fruit of your labor, but working until you die and never experiencing it is not enjoying the fruits of your labor.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's the fruit of your labor is enjoying the afternoon with your family laughing.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: A quiet meal or a time to do something you love.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: Go skating, watch a movie, read a book, not have to do that paper, not have to do that presentation, not have to meet that deadline, not have to be up at 7 o'clock to drive two hours to get there by 9 o'clock for the 9:30 p.m.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: stand up.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's just a quiet day to do nothing.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: That might be the fruit of your labor.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Take time to find it.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: Let's give ourselves room to experience those moments.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: Because if you don't, it starts to deteriorate your health.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: From your mental to what you consume on the inside of your bodies, to what you do on the outside, who you engage with, how you set boundaries, how you don't set boundaries, how you allow people to enter your space, what you consume in your eyes, what you consume in your ears, all that plays a part in your health.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: You won't be around to enjoy your wealth if you don't put all those things into place.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: So let that resonate.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: And think about how you would change the way you do things so that you can be around to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: You don't have to detox with teas every day, you don't have to take a hundred herbal supplements every day.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you just simply need to reset and make you a part of your self-care.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: Don't just talk about it, be about it.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: Thank you for tuning in for this morning's segment of Run Your My Podcast with your girl key.

- 34:35SPEAKER_00: Because health is only wealthy when you actually spend it.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: How you know how much wealth you have if you're dead and gone too soon because you just simply didn't take the time to turn off your phone.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: And people might look at it wrong and they might feel like, oh, well, you're not concerned or you're not caring.
