- Lucas: Velkommen til episode 94 of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Lucas, I'm so excited for today's topic. We're talking about something I do all the time — liking things! Lucas: That's right. Today we're learning the verb 'å like' — to like. It's super useful. Luna: Okay, let's hear it. How do you say 'to like'? Lucas: Å like. Repeat after me: å like. Luna: Å like. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you want to say 'I like', it's 'jeg liker'. Let's try that: jeg liker. Luna: Jeg liker. Lucas: Great. So if you like coffee, you'd say 'Jeg liker kaffe'. Let's break it down: 'Jeg liker kaffe'. Luna: Jeg liker kaffe. Lucas: That's it. Now, what about asking someone if they like something? You say 'Liker du...?' For example, 'Liker du kaffe?'. Luna: Liker du kaffe? Lucas: Exactly. And you can answer 'Ja, jeg liker kaffe' or 'Nei, jeg liker ikke kaffe'. Luna: Okay, so 'jeg liker ikke' for 'I don't like'. Got it. Lucas: Let's practice with a few things. Luna, what do you like? Luna: I like music. So 'Jeg liker musikk'. Lucas: Perfect. 'Musikk' is music. And if you like doing something, we use 'å like å' — 'Jeg liker å...' plus the verb. For example, 'Jeg liker å lese' — I like to read. Luna: Jeg liker å lese. Lucas: Beautiful. Let's try a few more. 'Jeg liker å reise' — I like to travel. Luna: Jeg liker å reise. Lucas: And 'Jeg liker å spise' — I like to eat. Luna: Jeg liker å spise. Oh, I definitely like that. Lucas: Now, let's make a little conversation. I'll ask you: 'Liker du å lage mat?' — Do you like to cook? Luna: Ja, jeg liker å lage mat. But I'm not the best at it. Lucas: That's okay. At least you like it. Now, 'Liker du å se film?' — Do you like to watch movies? Luna: Ja, jeg liker å se film. Especially Norwegian films, to practice! Lucas: Smart. Let's do a quick recap. We have 'å like' — to like. 'Jeg liker' — I like. 'Liker du?' — Do you like? And 'Jeg liker å' — I like to. Luna: And 'Jeg liker ikke' — I don't like. Lucas: Yes. Let's repeat all the target phrases together. First: å like. Luna: Å like. Lucas: Jeg liker. Luna: Jeg liker. Lucas: Liker du? Luna: Liker du? Lucas: Jeg liker å. Luna: Jeg liker å. Lucas: Perfect. Now, Luna, do you like learning Norwegian? Luna: Ja, jeg liker å lære norsk. It's fun! Lucas: I'm glad. And speaking of liking — we really like making these episodes for you. And we want to keep them free of ads. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to keep the show going and ad-free. We appreciate it. Lucas: Okay, back to practice. Let's try a real scenario. Imagine you're at a cafe with a friend. You want to say 'I like this coffee'. How would you say that? Luna: Jeg liker denne kaffen. Lucas: Excellent. 'Denne kaffen' — this coffee. And if your friend asks 'Liker du kaffen?' you can say 'Ja, jeg liker den'. Luna: Ja, jeg liker den. Lucas: Perfect. So today we learned 'å like'. Remember to practice saying what you like and what you don't like. Try it with things around you. Luna: Takk for i dag, Lucas. See you next time! Lucas: Takk, Luna. Keep practicing, and we'll see you in the next episode of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo.
