- 2:49Want to make something clear? Last week there was a couple
- 2:51comments about the guy's always on his phone, 'cause I'm looking
- 2:53stuff up, you know, I'm not. I'm not.
- 2:55Looking at, I don't. Do social media so I'm not
- 2:58looking at my TikTok account. Or or.
- 3:00Pasting something on my page or whatever Posting something on my
- 3:04page. I'm just I'm I'm looking up
- 3:05stuff that's pertinent to the conversation.
- 3:07So for example, I'm looking up some VA stuff, right?
- 3:10Now. OK, All right, Awesome.
- 3:12You guys carry on, let's. Do an important on the fly
- 3:16research. Yes, well.
- 3:18Hey, you know, I can tell you that, that Matt.
- 3:23Holly, the kind of like the. I don't want to say the.
- 3:29You know what I'm talking about, right?
- 3:31You have no idea what I'm talking about.
- 3:33Caveman I. Just said yeah for the.
- 3:34Help. OK, All right.
- 3:36So she's like a public figure, but she's like a Barbie public
- 3:39figure. Like, she's really, really hot.
- 3:44OK, kind of, Yeah. So or I'm trying to get a
- 3:49little. Hot or is she just neighborly?
- 3:52She's, she's. Just.
- 3:53She's bottle hot. She's.
- 3:55The model with a social media account.
- 3:57She has something to do with the military and I told her we would
- 4:01love to have her on the show, so I'm trying to schedule her to be
- 4:05on the make. Sure, you sit me on the on the
- 4:08opposite side of you. I don't want to be next to her
- 4:11because then I'll get myself in trouble.
- 4:15And then drone for soldiers, soldiers, drones or something
- 4:20like that, we'll be having them on as well.
- 4:23So a lot of good interviews coming up.
- 4:26Hunting hills. I just confirmed that yesterday.
- 4:29They're in an organization out of Bayfield, which is near
- 4:32Durango, Co and great organization.
- 4:36I've been on several hunts with those guys.
- 4:38Top notch nonprofit. Very, very good people.
- 4:43So I'm excited about that. They're coming in.
- 4:45It'll be next month on the 16th. So we're filling up.
- 4:49You know I funny story. So I called Nico to tell him
- 4:53about my bike. You know, I'm like, hey dude, I
- 4:55need, I might need it. You know I screwed up my bike.
- 4:57I think I see a couple stress fractures as well.
- 4:59So we'll have to I'll have to investigate.
- 5:02But he's like, yeah, I can get support that And he goes, I said
- 5:04I'm just calling. First of all, I thought, I want
- 5:06to call and thank you for an excellent interview.
- 5:09And you know, you did great. It was awesome.
- 5:12And he goes, yeah, when are we doing that?
- 5:14And I'm like, what? And he's like, yeah, when are we
- 5:17doing that? And I'm like, dude, we already
- 5:18did it, you knuckle. He didn't realize that v ^2 was
- 5:22the same as we said that and that you and I were the same.
- 5:27Now granted, he wasn't on the video so he couldn't see it, so
- 5:30he would have, you know, he's never seen me.
- 5:33But I mean, he would have put it together.
- 5:35But yeah, he was, he was thinking that was two separate
- 5:37shows. That's actually pretty.
- 5:42Good. Well, like I said, we're not
- 5:44Ellen. Yeah, we're not Ellen, So we
- 5:47have. We have Ellen's potential.
- 5:49We're nicer than Ellen. So new VA law for 2024 is trying
- 5:57to improve the lives of all veterans.
- 6:00According to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
- 6:04There will be several impacts broader access to benefits with
- 6:07expanded eligibility criteria. So you know, if in the past
- 6:12you've been told no you don't qualify, you may qualify.
- 6:15Now enhanced financial support adjustments in compensation
- 6:21rates mean better financial support for veterans COVID with
- 6:24disabilities. So we got, you know, our COLA
- 6:26increase, improve mental health services, enhance focus on
- 6:30mental health services, ensures veterans receive comprehensive
- 6:33care that they desperately need and faster and simpler claims.
- 6:38Right now, we've heard this one before, but you know the
- 6:41streamline process will reduce the stress and wait times
- 6:43associated with filing a claim. And so go to your local website,
- 6:48VA website, and you can learn more about these new 2024 laws
- 6:52that apply to you, 'cause we're here to get the word out.
- 6:56I remember our first episode, you guys were talking about how
- 6:58hard it is to do the the mental health stuff with the VA You
- 7:03just, like sit on the the hold line forever.
- 7:07It's like it it can be daunting. And you know, and one thing I've
- 7:11learned is, is what time of day you call and what time of the
- 7:13week you call 'cause if you call like Monday or Friday, forget
- 7:17it. Right.
- 7:17Call call. Middle of the week, middle of
- 7:19the day. That's the best time.
- 7:20But that's that's any business or any?
- 7:23Company, You know, I mean exactly.
- 7:26Well, that's the problem. Those most people are at work
- 7:29during those times. Right.
- 7:31But you know, it's it's funny you said that because every time
- 7:34my wife gets on the road or every time we go to Walmart,
- 7:37she's like, why is this place so busy?
- 7:40Why don't we work? Anymore.
- 7:42Right. Yeah.
- 7:43And she's like, doesn't anybody work anymore, like one or 12:00?
- 7:47And I'm like, well, you're off. She's like.
- 7:53Why are you here? H Chen, you're savage.
- 7:56Well, you know, I'm like, well, and so I'm colorblind.
- 8:01So I'm colorblind as well. OK, yeah, so.
- 8:05Better you thought she was black.
- 8:07Though no. So she comes out a lot of times
- 8:11and she'll be like, hey, look at me, you know how do I look?
- 8:16And you know, I'm like. Yeah, does it do, am I color
- 8:19coordinated and you're like? I'm like, why do you ask me?
- 8:23You got to tell me to stop, mix and match it.
- 8:26You got to tell me when to when to change and you're then you're
- 8:29asking me for advice. It just doesn't make sense.
- 8:33But. Just go with it.
- 8:36Just tell her. You know, he just walks.
- 8:37In the room, he's like that Gray.
- 8:39Looks nice on you. You look like you look like
- 8:41Marilyn Monroe on film. It's like the old I, I I I.
- 8:45Dude, I don't have to kiss her ass anymore.
- 8:47I'm. Married.
- 8:49Yeah, that's our job. We got to kiss ass.
- 8:51We'll be young. Yeah, well, it's like the old,
- 8:54you know, the the couple married a couple.
- 8:56And the wife, you know, she's heavyset and she has a new
- 8:59outfit on and she's just comes after her husband.
- 9:01She says, does this make me look fat?
- 9:04And and you know, my response immediately is as opposed before
- 9:09you as opposed to the fat before you put the outfit on.
- 9:12I mean, come on, honey, you were fat.
- 9:13Before so why? Are you going to sit here down
- 9:16with this outfit? Look, make me look fat.
- 9:18You were fat before you put the outfit on.
- 9:20What are you talking about? It always struck me as funny as
- 9:25when people like does the outfit make me look fat?
- 9:27And it's like, well, lines, you know, pinstripes.
- 9:32You're supposed to be slimming. Yeah.
- 9:34Dude, come on, really? If you weigh 400 lbs, you can
- 9:37still. Yeah, I I hear a lot about that
- 9:41color coordinate. You know, according to your
- 9:44your, you know body weigh like if it's black it's it's supposed
- 9:48to be slimming compared to white or whatever.
- 9:51I've heard a lot about that, but I I I never really bought into
- 9:55it. Well, you know, and I again, I
- 9:57don't want to offend anybody. I apologize if that was an
- 10:00insensitive you. Know.
- 10:03She's making an observation, but you know my wife and I are are
- 10:08she's on a big health kick now, 'cause you know everybody around
- 10:11her is losing weight with these. I don't know if it's Ozempic or
- 10:14I think she takes phentermine. So all these diet aids and she's
- 10:20she's, she's in with both feet. Boy, she's got a little exercise
- 10:24routine and she's, you know, watching.
- 10:27She doesn't count calories, but she's really watching what we.
- 10:29And we never really ate. You know, we don't even hardly
- 10:32go out there. Like we go out maybe I would say
- 10:34two or three times a year. So we don't eat fast food.
- 10:37We don't eat fried food. And so we eat pretty clean.
- 10:39We don't drink soda or sugary drinks, but she's really
- 10:43tightening, tightening things up, man.
- 10:45She wants, you know, so I like it, you know, that's good
- 10:49though. That would be definitely huge
- 10:51changes soon, 'cause why don't you just stick with it?
- 10:53Well, that's what I told her. I said, once you start seeing
- 10:55results, you're gonna cause now she's like, nothing's happening.
- 10:59And I was like, honey, it takes time, like anything, you know,
- 11:01you didn't gain that weight overnight, so it's gonna take
- 11:04time. You got to just keep at it.
- 11:05Like you said, once you start stick with it and you start
- 11:07seeing results, then you'll be like, all right, I'm gonna, I'm
- 11:10gonna keep doing this, you know, So it's a good thing.
- 11:13It's kind of the same thing. When I started working out, like
- 11:16I wasn't really gaining any weight.
- 11:18It's like mask wise. I looked a little bit bigger.
- 11:22It's like I could tell if I just kept going with it, like gain
- 11:26some weight soon, 'cause I don't ever expect to gain like 5 lbs
- 11:31of muscle in a week, right? Yeah, well, you know when, when,
- 11:35when you was telling us that you wanted to be a wrestler and I'm
- 11:40asking him like did you, you know, weight lift and stuff like
- 11:43that. He told me that he did and I I
- 11:46was shocked about that. Yeah, in high school this I had
- 11:50a weightlifting class. In high school used to do that,
- 11:53but I used to do jiu jitsu for a little bit.
- 11:55Yeah, I learned he's a jiu jitsu this morning.
- 11:59Yeah, so I did that for a year. They had a There was a program
- 12:02out there called We should. We need to get a hold of them.
- 12:05They ain't got a kid. The name escapes me.
- 12:08Anyway, there's a nonprofit that will sponsor.
- 12:11You for a year? Yeah, It's We defy.
- 12:14We defy. There you go.
- 12:15And I did that last year and I got my blue belt, but man,
- 12:19that's some tough stuff, man. I I did karate as a kid and
- 12:22that's why I always wanted to get back to it.
- 12:25So when this opportunity came up I'm like oh I'm all over that.
- 12:29So but they do have a, a A class at the base which is a a jiu
- 12:35jitsu and a Muay Thai class and it's just to you know like learn
- 12:42about the the sports and stuff. So I'm thinking about going out
- 12:45there and just kind of keep my, my skills sharp, you know
- 12:47because it's it's it's it's a really reasonable price FREE.
- 12:53And if you don't, if you don't like using a treadmill that's
- 12:55like the best cardio workout. If you have a good partner it'll
- 12:59be it'll be so tired. I would only have hour classes
- 13:04and would be exhausted after an hour of just, yeah that's how we
- 13:07practice an hour class of it, man.
- 13:09It's hard man. When you're, you know, your
- 13:11knees hurt, you're, you know, you're, you're back hurts, I
- 13:13mean getting up and down for the mat, you know, doing moves up
- 13:17and down, up and it was hard, man.
- 13:19It was really hard. And then some of those moves,
- 13:20I'm not the most flexible guy. So Oh yeah, that's what's hard
- 13:24for me. Yeah.
- 13:25If you're not flexible, it's brutal.
- 13:28But excellent workout. Like you said, excellent
- 13:30workout. And have.
- 13:34You done? We do 5.
- 13:35I have. All right.
- 13:38Not, not like a whole year. Oh, I'll, I'll explain off
- 13:44offline. Uh oh.
- 13:46Yeah, we got a scandal, Brewer. No, no, I had to.
- 13:53I had to pause it because I had a hernia surgery.
- 13:56Oh. So yeah, that's right.
- 13:58Yeah, Remember. You telling me that?
- 14:01No, what was I gonna? What else you got some?
- 14:09Something so yesterday there was news of Texas sending the
- 14:18National Guard to the border of Texas, and Biden warned them
- 14:26yesterday to knock it off and. What was the what was the melee?
- 14:32I mean, what was going on? With the the federal The federal
- 14:35court stepped in and told Biden stand down.
- 14:41Yeah. And what was the issue on the
- 14:43border? There's, there's, there's still.
- 14:49That immigrant center. Yeah.
- 14:51OK, So what the basically Texas State of Texas said enough's
- 14:57enough, we have enough, right? You know, you know, we complain
- 15:01about immigrants being here and I know it's an issue.
- 15:02There's a couple of whatever they call those temporary
- 15:06housing up there by they built some new temper housing right
- 15:09close to my house, which I hate to say is is kind of backfiring
- 15:14because I've I've been seeing an uptick in prostitution and and
- 15:18drug dealing and stuff. And I don't know if they're
- 15:21correlated, but it sure seems like they are because the minute
- 15:23those places went up, they set up shop, you know.
- 15:27But up the up the road like I-70 in Quebec, they have some old
- 15:32dilapidated hotels that they're using for the the immigrants and
- 15:36stuff. And you know, you'll go to Home
- 15:38Depot or Walmart there, and there are people just coming up
- 15:41to you like trying to get money and, you know, and let me get
- 15:45your bags for you or whatever, you know, and you're like, Nah,
- 15:47man, I'm good. I'm good.
- 15:48And I don't know about you, but I don't like that.
- 15:50And I don't give money. If I'll give him food, water,
- 15:54I'll pray for him. But I don't give him money,
- 15:56'cause I, you know, 9099.9% of the time is going to drug use or
- 16:00alcohol or, and I'm not going to promote that.
- 16:03But but yeah, I mean, we complain here in Colorado about
- 16:06how many dude, could you imagine living on the border?
- 16:08I. Mean God.
- 16:10That just would be a nightmare. I mean, you're right there.
- 16:13There's no way escape of escaping it.
- 16:17Well, and we're. Thinking there's not more
- 16:19Canadians trying to keep. It right Well.
- 16:23I think Canadians are trying to keep us high.
- 16:25Exactly. Yeah, exactly. 3 House Americans
- 16:30come up here. I'll just go out there for a
- 16:32surgery and they don't have to deal with me anymore, right?
- 16:36And don't they have, isn't it free tuition and free healthcare
- 16:40and all that jazz out there in Canada?
- 16:43I think the healthcare, yeah, yeah, it was 815 though.
- 16:47You want to head to 1st break. Yeah, sure.
- 16:49All right. Maybe I can get clear headed.
- 16:55Yeah. So stick.
- 16:56Stay with us, ladies and gentlemen.
- 16:57When we come back, we'll be talking more about these issues
- 17:02with current issues. So we're here to all about
- 17:06veterans. We educate.
- 17:07We communicate, We congregate so we can proliferate.
- 17:11What makes Ltd unique In the history of tactical, no CEO has
- 17:17ever been. Through what I've been
- 22:07Welcome back ladies and gentlemen.
- 22:10Hope you enjoyed our music break.
- 22:15Things are moving right along. A couple things, a couple of
- 22:18announcements that I wanted to make real quick.
- 22:22H Train and I have been discussing some some new
- 22:26additions that we want to add to our show.
- 22:31One of one of which we've already talked about.
- 22:33We want to, we want to. This year, we want to implement
- 22:37a music segment where we have live music here in studio.
- 22:41I've already got like 5 artists lined up.
- 22:44They're all on board. They're all excited.
- 22:47I just need to work out the logistics and figure out what
- 22:52equipment we need here in the studio to make sure all they
- 22:54have to do is plug in and and perform.
- 22:56And then the other thing that H Train and I discussed was having
- 23:02a segment on called Vet's Corner where we have a featured vet
- 23:08every week and they just kind of tell us their story, maybe the
- 23:12things are struggling with or how they overcame what's been
- 23:17working, what's not working. And so we can either, you know,
- 23:21give them a praise report or we can dig in deep and help them
- 23:25solve some of their issues and just kind of be a little more in
- 23:29tune and have a one-on-one effect on a positive effect on
- 23:38on a on a fellow veteran. So 222 exciting things we're
- 23:41we're looking forward to and we'll keep you posted on the
- 23:45details for that as as time progresses.
- 23:47And you know, if it's successful, I think that for
- 23:52Roddy's show, the Black Black, the Black Sugar Ray show, they
- 23:57might adopt that idea as well and we might be able to like
- 24:01share the content. I haven't talked to him yet, but
- 24:04it's a it was a great idea when you told me when I interrupted
- 24:08you on the mountain yesterday. Mid mid mogul this guy called.
- 24:14Me. What are you doing?
- 24:17You know, like and I'm expecting like, like I I was expecting him
- 24:20to know exactly what I'm doing. What do you think?
- 24:22What am I doing? I'm on the mountain, you know?
- 24:24But but yeah, it was, it was a good conversation and I really
- 24:28like the idea. That would be cool.
- 24:30That music sounds fun too. Just seeing people join in,
- 24:34exactly. That would be cool.
- 24:37And you know, I found two new Internet radio stations here in
- 24:45the Colorado area and it's just so funny that like they have a
- 24:49studio as well. So I had reached out to them and
- 24:53we're supposed to maybe do some spot slots or you know have them
- 24:59on, you know, etcetera, etcetera.
- 25:03So it's just, it's it's funny how there's something that's
- 25:09such a need like once you find it a a comes along, you know,
- 25:15you know, you're like well shit, you know, if only I knew.
- 25:19You know, I spent all this time creating something, you know,
- 25:24for it to be public and there's somebody that's doing the same
- 25:28exact thing or or like a contract with like T-Mobile or
- 25:34Sprint and instead of going buying a new one, you can
- 25:38sometimes pay on somebody's account at a like a.
- 25:44Cheaper cost. Yeah.
- 25:48And another thing that I wanted to another project.
- 25:51You know, H Train used to be a hell of an athlete.
- 25:55He's a, he's a former Paralympian, You know, he went
- 25:59to Sochi in 2014, Pretty impressive accomplishments.
- 26:04But he's gotten so busy over the years that he hasn't really had
- 26:07time for physical activity. So that's one of the the things
- 26:13that I've kind of spearheaded as well.
- 26:15And he's, he's, he's agreeing begrudgingly is 'cause everybody
- 26:20knows it's great for your mental and physical health.
- 26:22It really is. It's my best therapy.
- 26:25Does my body hurt? Sure.
- 26:26Do I hurt myself? Yeah.
- 26:27I mean, it's part of it, but I love it and it keeps me sane and
- 26:32it keeps me healthy. So I told H Train that I got to
- 26:37find something that we can. Do together well, you know we we
- 26:39can always walk you know there's a there's a perfectly good mall
- 26:43here in the Aurora area that. That's a good point.
- 26:46That's a good. Point though we could totally
- 26:49you know go or I don't know have you you've been on Buckley Air
- 26:53Force Base correct. Oh, I go every week.
- 26:56I play the simulator out there, the golf simulator.
- 26:59Yeah, I was going to say they have a track, like a weight room
- 27:03track at Buckley. They have an.
- 27:05Indoor track, it's pretty nice. It's a it's a nice facility.
- 27:08The the only thing that I don't like about Buckley is they don't
- 27:11have a pool, 'cause I like to swim laps, you know, being a
- 27:14combat diver, I I'd still swim laps, but they'd have no pool
- 27:18there. But man, is it a nice facility.
- 27:20It's a very nice, very big, you know, I mean, they've got a lot
- 27:24of different machines. They've got that indoor.
- 27:27They got cardio out the butt. I mean, you you name it, they
- 27:31have it. And racquetball courts, they got
- 27:34the simulator they got. What am I looking for?
- 27:39What's that word? What's that?
- 27:40It's not really new. CrossFit.
- 27:43They got all sorts of stuff, man, going on over there.
- 27:45So it's a nice facility, but they have no pool.
- 27:50I I I wanted to bring in my little baby pool, but they
- 27:52wouldn't let me. How are you going to swim laps
- 27:56in the baby pool? Well, you know those, remember
- 27:58those? They used to be so big the the
- 28:01forever pool. What do they call them?
- 28:02Or you could swim laps and you stay in one spot, kind of like a
- 28:05treadmill. Oh yeah, we're talking.
- 28:08About it's not a very big pool, but because it has propulsion,
- 28:11it shoves you back and so you you can swim laps.
- 28:15And I know they're still available, but they were a big
- 28:18crazier for a while. Well, I remember I'll talk where
- 28:21I learned to swim. It was in a pool like that.
- 28:24They just 'cause it's nice and shallow, so you can take you
- 28:28can. Stand up and I'm drowning.
- 28:30I'm drowning. Ma'am, stand up.
- 28:33Put your feet on the bottom. You're good.
- 28:37Yeah, my wife doesn't know how to swim, so she's that she's had
- 28:39that that experience several times.
- 28:41I'm just splash and everything. Hun stand up, Hun Hun, stand up.
- 28:47But yeah, we're on, we're on a fitness.
- 28:49We're on a fitness craze this 2024, So I got my wife who's
- 28:54who's on this big health kick and I've got H Train.
- 28:58I've got projects to do. He's getting.
- 29:01Everybody in shape. There we go.
- 29:03Well, you know. And Caveman got to be careful.
- 29:06We're next, yeah. You got your next well.
- 29:11We're going to start doing another on caveman and he's
- 29:14going to make us. Yeah, we're going to.
- 29:15Find something. For us, our work cut out for us
- 29:17soon, right. I'll go skiing, though.
- 29:22Dollar has ski or snowboard. We we got a train for Mike the
- 29:25Headless Chicken 5K. Oh yeah.
- 29:30You're going to go, am I going in the chicken costume?
- 29:33You're in the gorilla costume. Yeah, we got to, we got to go
- 29:36for a world record. Yeah, we're trying to set some
- 29:38world records. Well, you know what, now that I
- 29:41think about it, let's hit that the what the segment because we
- 29:46have a special 1:00 today. They're cool tats.
- 29:48Man. For real thank you bro.
- 29:50You. See the cobra and.
- 29:51What is this one? Oh, this.
- 29:54That's my credo. No regrets.
- 29:57You have no. Regrets, Dad.
- 29:59No. Like, not even a single letter.
- 30:01No way. Not me.
- 30:03I love him. I think he's great.
- 30:06I think he's a real winner. Casey, if I were you, I wouldn't
- 30:08use protection. What?
- 30:13The All right. So today's what the is brought
- 30:16to you by Caveman Sports to catch them every Wednesday.
- 30:21So, Oh yeah, Caveman sports. Sports in The Cave.
- 30:26That's me and caveman every Wednesday.
- 30:28So sports in The Cave, wrestling, they're out on a tour
- 30:33right now. They're in Australia for the
- 30:35Royal Rumble, that's where they're having their like, so
- 30:39they're having their pay-per-view.
- 30:41So they're on the, they're on the local news in Perth,
- 30:44Australia, and they had some, they had some funny stuff to
- 30:47say, the wrestlers, but they did not feel the same way like can.
- 30:49You give us one of your signature finishing moves.
- 30:52Can I give you one? Yeah.
- 30:53Can you like, not me, but can you show us one of the.
- 30:58No, I I think it actually just showed on the screen there.
- 31:01If I do that, it's not going to be a good.
- 31:03Maybe someone in like our our floor manager maybe he seems
- 31:06actually our floor manager's leaving this week.
- 31:08Yeah. And he's sort of, yeah.
- 31:10I don't know if that's that's not for me.
- 31:13You want to go ahead and take this one?
- 31:14Look. You.
- 31:18I. Don't think you understand.
- 31:19Like if I come over there right now, we're going to have the
- 31:21police here, 'cause I'm not going to give you some fake
- 31:22punch. Like I'm going to punch you
- 31:23straight in the jaw, the actual the disrespect that you have
- 31:26even talking to me. No.
- 31:27You want to talk to me like this?
- 31:28Is this? This ain't real.
- 31:30I've got no don't act or top lad, don't.
- 31:31Act or top? Don't.
- 31:32Get in the middle of this. You keep getting out of there,
- 31:35you get out of here, you get it? I'm so sorry.
- 31:37No, don't know. I'm too mad.
- 31:39You guys come here trying to disrespect that?
- 31:41Are you kidding me? I'm not disrespecting.
- 31:43You're all right, mate. No, we love you.
- 31:45Hey, you take that trash talk and you get out of here.
- 31:49You get out of here. You take that trash talk, you
- 31:50get out. I won't have these guests
- 31:52disrespected like that, Mitch. You get out.
- 31:57Hopefully we don't get hit for like copyright things.
- 32:01You know, That's the only bad thing about doing like, so
- 32:05TikTok is public domain, but when it's when it has like the
- 32:09like the logo and stuff like that, that's when they get you
- 32:13for like copyright. So hopefully we don't get on it.
- 32:16Hopefully we don't get that. But the one that I thought he
- 32:19was going to bring up one was the was the the car bashing.
- 32:24We'll we'll. Oh that that's our that's our
- 32:27drop the mic because it matches our it matches our intro for
- 32:30dropping the. Mic.
- 32:31Oh, OK All right. OK.
- 32:33Yeah, wrestlers. They do not like it when you
- 32:35tell them that their sport is fake.
- 32:37Oh yeah, the the F word. The F word is is forbidden upon.
- 32:41That was, that was actually what my my teacher at CMS was telling
- 32:46me. He's like, I know you're a big
- 32:47sports guy. If you're ever in the viewing a
- 32:49wrestler, you never tell them. Never ask them if it's fake,
- 32:52yeah. 'Cause they'll take you outside
- 32:53and school you or they'll want to take.
- 32:55You they'll be like I'll I'll show you how fake it is and body
- 32:58slam you and then you don't have a ring or like a a, not like the
- 33:03the floor of a ring is is soft by any means but there's at
- 33:07least a little padding. They'll just do it right on the
- 33:10right, on the floor of concrete, hardwood, whatever you're on.
- 33:14Yeah. How's that feel for you?
- 33:16Does that feel fake to you? I.
- 33:18Feel pretty fake, right? It'd be like the scene that we
- 33:21saw last week when you guys shared the Buffalo Bills going
- 33:25through the fire lit tables. Oh yeah, all bills stands.
- 33:29Were amazing, I saw. Yeah, if you're a folding cable
- 33:33in the City of Buffalo, like, count your days, yes.
- 33:36Saw you. It was a comment on Pat Mcafee's
- 33:40TikTok Live. So, like, they didn't even have
- 33:43a chance to see it. But it was in all caps that
- 33:45Bill's Mafia is going to put Taylor Swift through a table.
- 33:51And then people were responding like, Oh yeah, it's going to be
- 33:54like the Dudley boys and Mae Young.
- 33:57They just put her through a table.
- 34:00Yeah, you know, I I never got into the Dudley Boys.
- 34:03I and I just, I I never got into that like character.
- 34:06You know, there's certain characters or certain wrestlers
- 34:09that you get into. That's true that you don't get
- 34:12into, you know? Like the Viking guys, it's 2024
- 34:16and they're Vikings and they don't talk.
- 34:17It doesn't make any sense. It makes no sense.
- 34:22Like the the, the worst one was Tugboat.
- 34:26OK, Tugboat. The WF was pushing him so much.
- 34:31And what kind of name is Tugboat?
- 34:34Not a good one, that is. That is the old school
- 34:37wrestling, like the golden age when they used to do like live
- 34:41concerts and every and every episode I'll have to find a clip
- 34:45for next week. But they had like, all the
- 34:48wrestlers were out on stage. Like it was a whole sing along.
- 34:52Even Vince McMahon would go out there and like do a musical
- 34:54number. Really.
- 34:56Yeah, it was. It's some weird stuff watching
- 34:59it. That's wild.
- 35:01Is he still involved, or is his son running into the show now?
- 35:03I think, I think he's not involved.
- 35:06It is. Well, he's kind of involved, but
- 35:08the main head of, like, creative and talent right now is Triple H
- 35:13Paul Leveque. Oh, OK.
- 35:15And before I forget, I've got I I received news yesterday around
- 35:2210:30 PM that one of my best friends who very, very close to
- 35:32he was a groomsman in my wedding.
- 35:34His father has found out that he has stage 4 liver cancer.
- 35:40So my prayers and my hearts go out to the Belk family.
- 35:50You was there. You was there for me with my
- 35:53mom, and I will be there for you for your dad's brother.
- 35:58So I didn't mean to damn from the show.
- 36:02I just. I I felt I needed to push that
- 36:05out before you forgot. Yeah.
- 36:08Good point to bring up, though. Yeah, good.
- 36:10Definitely worthy, Worthy interruption.
- 36:13We have another what the moment Mercury, during our break, found
- 36:16a pretty interesting article. Yeah, so this one's crazy.
- 36:20OK, so the New York Post, they they just put out an article
- 36:26today. I believe.
- 36:28Or no, this was yesterday that says vaping does not harm
- 36:34pregnant women or babies in a shocking study.
- 36:38And so it was new research, new research from Queen Maryland
- 36:43University of London that found that vaping during pregnancy
- 36:48helped expecting mothers quit cigarettes without posing any
- 36:51detectable risks to pregnancy. That's about it.
- 36:55It's a very short article. It's over 2 paragraphs and.
- 37:00That must be off of a liberal website.
- 37:03What's the New York Post or whether?
- 37:05Oh, that's, yeah, that's, that's like the new Enquirer.
- 37:10Yeah, it's like The Enquirer said.
- 37:12Oh. Shit, this feels like a very
- 37:13like paid for by Big Big Vape. Yeah, I was.
- 37:17Gonna say paid for by whatever company owns owns most of the
- 37:21vape vape products. I'm sure this.
- 37:22Isn't out of The Enquirer or no? Right, well, if I'm not mistaken
- 37:27I'd have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that The Enquirer
- 37:31they just changed names 'cause that's it.
- 37:34I mean, that's what it looks like.
- 37:37Am I wrong or? Yeah, no, that's what it looks
- 37:41like from what? From what that article is
- 37:42saying. That's a little.
- 37:44It's a little too little, too similar.
- 37:46A little too farfetched. Like somebody was was on the
- 37:51deadline and needed to get something out quick.
- 37:53And they're like, what's the weird or I guess.
- 37:55They're saying that. They're like I don't have a word
- 37:57limit, but I just need to generate some place.
- 38:00So here we go. It's.
- 38:01A better I mean, maybe they're saying it's a better option in
- 38:03lieu of cigarettes that you vape.
- 38:06And that The thing is, they said no detectable.
- 38:09The operative word there. Oh Mike.
- 38:12Well, how many undetectable things that might pop up later?
- 38:16Yeah that's true. That's so dumb.
- 38:19Well it's like recently I read an article about a bottled water
- 38:22they did, they did this research study on bottled water and they
- 38:25took like three or three or five top name bottled waters and they
- 38:30analyzed them and they found micro.
- 38:33So microscopic is, you know, can't see it with the other
- 38:36microsoap. And then nano particles are
- 38:40smaller than that, they're smaller than and they found
- 38:43hundreds and hundreds of pieces of plastic in the water.
- 38:48So they continued their research and they in their investigations
- 38:52and they found it in meat and they found it in veggies and
- 38:55they found it. Oh yeah, microplastics aren't
- 38:58that kind of thing. It's getting to the point it's
- 39:00going to be in the rain soon, so if you're not safe anywhere you
- 39:05go. We're all just full of micro
- 39:08plastics. You know and you know it passes
- 39:12fine. I I haven't.
- 39:13I'm regulars. I'll get out now.
- 39:16Doesn't doesn't plug me up or anything.
- 39:18So that's a good thing. Oh man.
- 39:23And then I'm not sure if you heard of vet vet's aide.
- 39:28Have you heard that Joe Walsh? You know who Joe Walsh is,
- 39:30right? From the Eagles, James Gang.
- 39:35Come on now. No, not a.
- 39:37Rock'n'roll. Aficionado.
- 39:39Well, no. So I like rock'n'roll music, but
- 39:42like, I don't really know. Like the history, I mean.
- 39:46Well, he's a Rock and roll hall of.
- 39:47Fame, I know Axel Rose is, you know, the lead singer, Guns and
- 39:50Roses. But like Guns and Roses, like
- 39:54the first album, I liked every song on it, you know?
- 40:00Very seldom do you get an album like you like every song, or am
- 40:05I wrong? Oh, no, there's.
- 40:07Certain albums, yeah, I like every song on the album.
- 40:09So anyways, Joe Walsh started this nonprofit called Vet's Aid
- 40:15and I believe like seven or eight years ago and he's doing,
- 40:20he does a a benefit concert every year.
- 40:24And so this year and it's based on what I'm reading here, it
- 40:28seems like it's primarily on the West Coast in California.
- 40:32But it says rock'n'roll of Famer Joe Walsh, along with an All
- 40:35Star lineup is set to perform in San Diego this fall to raise
- 40:38money for Vets Aid. Vets Aid will feature Jeff Flynn
- 40:41from ELO, Flaming Lips, the War on Drugs, Lucius, and Stephen
- 40:46Stills. So yeah, 7th Annual Vets Aid
- 40:49Concert will be held November 12th.
- 40:52Oh, nice, at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater.
- 40:56The Walsh LED nonprofit, which benefits charity organizations
- 40:59at eight U.S. military veterans, has dispersed 3 million in
- 41:03grants since its inception in 2017.
- 41:05So pretty good stuff going. I'd never heard of Vet's aid,
- 41:10so. I haven't either and I've.
- 41:11Always liked Joe Walsh, so I I thought it was pretty worth
- 41:15mentioning that you know he's he's he's gone on board with you
- 41:19know he's he's on board with doing his part you know using
- 41:23his influence to further the cause so.
- 41:27You know and. Power to the people.
- 41:29Exactly, exactly. Well, I appreciate when veterans
- 41:36use their spotlight to do stuff and to help other veterans.
- 41:43One guy from Star Wars, Adam Driver, he's a former.
- 41:49Well, he he was a Marine. He's also, yeah, he's also Kaye,
- 41:56you know, he's the actor for Star Wars Kylo.
- 41:59Ren. Yeah, Kylo Ren and he goes to,
- 42:06he goes to fans houses and takes them like Star Wars stuff or
- 42:10visits them, especially veterans are in the hospital and stuff.
- 42:15He's, you know, giving us time. So that's another one that I
- 42:19know that's you know, real big into that and you know we need
- 42:23that, we really do, you know. And and and non veterans alike.
- 42:29I mean, like Joe Walsh, I I don't believe he's a veteran,
- 42:31but that they use their influence and their and their
- 42:34fame to for a worthy cause. I mean that's that's always a
- 42:38near and dear to my heart, 'cause that means that they care
- 42:41and they want to give back, you know, in a in a in a in a true
- 42:45manner. So that's off to them.
- 42:51Yeah, that's definitely a great way to do it.
- 42:53Yeah, definitely. Before we get into this
- 42:56interview though, I do want to show you guys this video.
- 43:00OK. Drop the mic.
- 43:03I'll play, I'll play the drop the mic intro, but I want to
- 43:06give a little back story. So in Lincoln, NE was a
- 43:10disgruntled employee at some some place, some business.
- 43:15But he got in a skid steer like a bobcat skit loader and he just
- 43:19started destroying cars in the parking lot.
- 43:22So let's let's see this one in a second.
- 43:25Well, don't worry. Don't worry, I'm.
- 43:30Not going to do what you all. Think I'm going to do we just
- 43:49guys going crazy with the skid loader?
- 44:03Holy shit. Kill Dozer.
- 44:39Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right away.
- 44:42I'll be Granby, man. Yeah.
- 44:43Granby. That was here, Yeah.
- 44:45That was. Here.
- 44:46Well, you kill Dozer Junior right there.
- 44:48Yeah, he didn't. He didn't.
- 44:50He just. He didn't just fight.
- 44:52Like the other guy did, but yeah, the same same thing.
- 44:54Well, me and Caveman was talking through brake and we were
- 44:57talking and we were saying about, I think it was like maybe
- 45:01two or three months ago there was a disgruntled like worker
- 45:05that was using a car, just braking different, you know,
- 45:09wrecking in the different car, you know, cars and stuff.
- 45:12So it's it's funny that this is happening.
- 45:17The proud tradition continues. Yeah.
- 45:24That was just hilarious, quite entertaining.
- 45:26How do you, how do you get your hands on that type of equipment
- 45:30to just destroy a cop car and all the other cars in the lot
- 45:34too? There's another video I saw
- 45:36later, somebody just taking a video of their cars just
- 45:39completely destroyed. The trunk was all bashed in,
- 45:44just everything on the. So I would love to fly on the
- 45:46air and find out. You know what precipitated this?
- 45:51Well, to give some context on how this might have happened, I
- 45:55had something I used to be friends with.
- 45:57When I tell the story, you'll kind of understand why I'm not
- 45:59friends with him anymore. But he he got in trouble with
- 46:04the law because him and the somebody.
- 46:07I wasn't there when this all happened to him and some other
- 46:09buddies. No, I can't.
- 46:12Hand to God I I wasn't there. I swear.
- 46:15I'm my Mama. They they went to a construction
- 46:19site and like they just found like they leave the keys and
- 46:22some of these things. So they.
- 46:25They took, this is like 2 in the morning or something.
- 46:28They just took one of these things for a joyride.
- 46:31But they ended up getting like caught and yeah, they all had to
- 46:35to go to the court. And I think they caught like a
- 46:37felony. Oh.
- 46:38My God. So yeah, if there was one of
- 46:42those things parked out by where he worked, I could see him just
- 46:47locking up whoever was operating and they just left the keys in
- 46:50there. He was like, well, I'm gonna go
- 46:53start trashing some people's cars, 'cause I'm pissed.
- 46:56Yeah, it makes sense. They would keep the keys in
- 46:59there, 'cause they kind of just like drop pick up shop the next
- 47:02day from where they're at. But Dang this out in the open
- 47:07like that. Any random person, they honestly
- 47:10had control of that thing. They were moving the the arm up
- 47:12and down pretty good while they were spinning so they could ram
- 47:16into the cop car. I mean that's some talent right
- 47:19there. Yeah, it is.
- 47:20So he's he's not a, he's not a normal operator.
- 47:22He just kind of just got on that skid loader and started.
- 47:26Yeah, Yeah. Kind of like like if a customer
- 47:29got on Home Depot, that ladder thing, you know?
- 47:33That's, yeah, scissor ladder. All right.
- 47:35You know what? That that's going to be our next
- 47:36field trip. You're going to, you're going to
- 47:38get on the ladder and we're going to see how long it takes
- 47:40for someone to say something and we're just going to video it,
- 47:43you know? Well, I'll see those unattended
- 47:46in the Home Depot. It's tempting.
- 47:48You know, it's tempting. You got to fight the the demons
- 47:51there and you're like God, don't, don't climb it, don't do
- 47:53it. So are we at we're 8. 48. 45.
- 47:59OK, well I guess it's that time we go on a a a music break and
- 48:05then when we come back, top of the hour, we're speaking to
- 48:10Damien Smith The True. Story band?
- 48:13Yes. Stay tuned folks.
- 48:15It's exciting. We wrote a song together, he and
- 48:17I, and he's a professional musician.
- 48:20Looking forward to this interview?
- 48:21We'll be right back the. Welcome back, ladies and
- 51:55gentlemen. We hope everybody's having a
- 51:57good day today and we're excited because we're getting ready to
- 52:03have our guests. So a little more background.
- 52:07I met Damian Smith this past summer.
- 52:10He's from Aspen Co and there is a we had Mack Bailey on here a
- 52:17couple about a month ago and he runs a nonprofit called Music
- 52:21Therapy of the Rockies and Damian was one of the
- 52:28professional singer songwriters that participated and he and I
- 52:31were teamed up and it was awesome.
- 52:34I mean we we clipped from the get go.
- 52:36We're relatively, you know, I'm, I'm always the oldest guy in the
- 52:39room, but we're relatively the same generation and had a lot of
- 52:44the same similar upbringings. And so it was an excellent
- 52:48experience and he has been just awesome.
- 52:52I mean this guy does a lot of events and concerts and
- 52:58recordings and even though he had this really busy schedule,
- 53:02he still made time for me to complete my song.
- 53:05And you know, 'cause it's a, it's a, it's a, you get it.
- 53:09You get 2, let's say probably about 3 hour sessions.
- 53:11So six hours in total to come up with a song that's that's that's
- 53:15a that's a daunting task and then Sunday evening you
- 53:20performed a little mini concert so but he he helped me Polish it
- 53:24up and and and get everything straight and and and we had such
- 53:28a great time we're going to collaborate on some future songs
- 53:30so excited about that as well. Awesome.
- 53:34Well, ladies and gentlemen, not without further ado.
- 53:38And it's our interview of the week.
- 53:53Welcome in. Hey.
- 53:54What's? Going.
- 53:55On how you doing? It's nice to see you, Vicente.
- 53:58How are you bud? You too, man.
- 54:00You look sexy as hell. That's.
- 54:03Too sexy for the Internet, I can tell you that.
- 54:08Yeah. So, so glad that you joined us
- 54:11this morning. It's an honor to be here.
- 54:13Really. Thank you.
- 54:15Yeah, and I know that you're a really busy guy.
- 54:17So could you give us a little background, you know, whatever
- 54:21you feel pertinent and and about yourself and and then we'll go
- 54:27from there. There's not much to tell you.
- 54:30I was born in Chicago. I got started in music because
- 54:32my dad was a musician and opera singer, sang with the lyric
- 54:37opera there for many, many years and taught in the public schools
- 54:41during the day and sang at night.
- 54:45And so music was really in the house at all times, especially
- 54:49when he was working on a particularly challenging role
- 54:53for the opera. You know, in those days, records
- 54:57were the thing. And so an LP would go on the
- 54:59turntable and we would hear it all day long over and over again
- 55:04as he internalized this music. And so exposure to the classical
- 55:09stuff was a natural thing. And I think a combination of
- 55:15seeing his work on stage and his production work and the infusion
- 55:21of the combination of the infusion of that and classic
- 55:24rock and roll, especially The Beatles during that time in 1953
- 55:30and during that era, you know, you know, there was a lot of
- 55:35that coming into the house. And so I think it was the the
- 55:38combination of watching him work in real time and seeing, you
- 55:42know, what was happening with classic rock at the time wasn't
- 55:45classic rock at the time, it was just rock'n'roll.
- 55:48And those two things were incredibly motivational.
- 55:52So I got into music at a very young age, and I've been
- 55:55fortunate now for the last 40 or so years to be doing music, you
- 56:01know, exclusively as my income and as my as my job.
- 56:05And that's a very rare thing for a lot of people.
- 56:09A lot of people get into it as a hobby and a way to express
- 56:13themselves on the side from what they're, you know, as a
- 56:16diversion of what they really have to do to get food on the
- 56:19table. But I've been very fortunate,
- 56:20Vicente, that music has allowed me to, you know, support myself
- 56:27and my family all these years. And, you know, one of the great
- 56:32things was actually our experience together.
- 56:34You know, that was like, it's truly a transformative thing for
- 56:38me and very profound thing for me to meet you and to experience
- 56:43what we experience at Windwalkers Ranch when we got
- 56:45together last summer. Incredible.
- 56:49Especially, you know, you and I working on our stuff and looking
- 56:52across the room and seeing the other musicians and the other
- 56:56vets, you know, working on honing their song and getting
- 56:59their song compiled and pulled together, You know, It's hard
- 57:04not to be touched and motivated by that kind of thing, you know?
- 57:09It is really touching experience, you're right.
- 57:11It was amazing time. That was your first time, yes.
- 57:14Yeah, you know Mac Bailey, who's a dear guy and and an incredible
- 57:18leader of that whole thing. That whole music therapy of the
- 57:21Rockies program. He had asked me for many years
- 57:24before then, Vicente, to come up and and work in that format.
- 57:30And, you know, my performance schedule is so busy.
- 57:33Between that and what's going on in the studio here and all the
- 57:37other challenges that are involved with being a dad and,
- 57:40you know, all the other stuff that I'm sure you're well aware
- 57:42of, it was very hard to kind of get it to swing with my
- 57:46schedule. And last year, last summer, I
- 57:49just realized it was time to clear the schedule.
- 57:53And I'm finally in a position with some of the gigs that I do
- 57:56regularly where I can find a suitable sub for the gig that
- 58:00will allow me to take time off to do those types of things.
- 58:05And so I was able to shuffle the schedule around, which allowed
- 58:10us to get together, allowed me to meet you and and get involved
- 58:13with the music therapy program. And you know, as I've told Mac
- 58:17several times as I've worked with him since then, honestly
- 58:21Vicente, I I really don't want to know what life is like
- 58:24without it from here on in. You know, it was that it was
- 58:27that profound for me. And and as you've said many
- 58:31times during our conversations, during the whole process of it,
- 58:34you know there's a reason why we were brought together and you
- 58:39know you're you're shining like Justice song that you wrote is
- 58:44just a small example of what the potential of that program is.
- 58:48And it really shows not only how much it helps the songwriters
- 58:54but it also helps the people who are contributing in in really
- 59:00putting some serious value on what we do.
- 59:02And Mac has created an amazing program and I I really have to
- 59:08encourage anybody out there who has a need to express themselves
- 59:13to get involved with this reach out and get involved with the
- 59:19people that can put you on the path to getting your song or
- 59:22your idea or your message across because the impact was massive.
- 59:28I I work on hundreds of songs a year.
- 59:31This the song that we worked on was a huge standout it it was a
- 59:34major impact on me and continues to be and and so you know I
- 59:42would encourage anybody out there who has a message or
- 59:44feelings that they need to express to get involved with
- 59:47this and also your soldiers your your program that you do in
- 59:51Denver Tongues. And voices.
- 59:52Yeah, I mean these are very important outlets for expression
- 59:58and healing because if you're, you know if you're carrying
- 1:00:02around the weight of of your experiences and you want to
- 1:00:07share them or get involved with helping others to share them the
- 1:00:13the therapeutic aspect of what's going on.
- 1:00:16With with Mac's program and your program in Denver cannot be
- 1:00:20overstated. They are huge steps to healing,
- 1:00:25huge steps to moving on and becoming the version of yourself
- 1:00:30that is the best version you can have at the moment, you know.
- 1:00:34And in in the world today, we need to latch on to as much of
- 1:00:37that as we can, you know. Exactly.
- 1:00:40Well said, Well said. And you know, a lot of people
- 1:00:42think, oh, I'll have to be be musically inclined, right.
- 1:00:45I've never saw. Doesn't matter.
- 1:00:47There's people from all walks that come in and participate in
- 1:00:51these programs. Don't let that be a deterrent
- 1:00:54from you getting involved. What a what a great thing to
- 1:00:57say. I I really, honestly thought
- 1:00:58that a lot of the other people that expressed themselves that
- 1:01:01weekend were not Fluent Guitar players.
- 1:01:03They were not fluent musicians. All they had was their story,
- 1:01:07right? And.
- 1:01:10You know, but you know, you roasted the occasion.
- 1:01:13I, I, I specifically remember the first session we did.
- 1:01:18We had nothing. Vicente.
- 1:01:19We we had a couple ideas about where to go.
- 1:01:22And I think the thing that struck me most profoundly about
- 1:01:25that is that you and I both being kind of the oldest horses
- 1:01:29in the stall there. You know, we were we were
- 1:01:33counting on on really just experience and and and the need
- 1:01:38to kind of to express something. And I I was really touched by
- 1:01:43the idea that because of your level of experience that you
- 1:01:47chose to do a song and and put forth a message that was a
- 1:01:52tribute to your mom. Because that really goes back to
- 1:01:55what provided you with strength during times when things were
- 1:02:00challenging, either either as a soldier or as a a parent or
- 1:02:05human being in the crazy race that we're in.
- 1:02:09You know, I found it really touching that you use that
- 1:02:12platform to, you know, express a tribute to your mom and the
- 1:02:16strength that she infused in you.
- 1:02:19Because honestly, I think when we're feeling weak and we're
- 1:02:22down, those are the types of things that we can key into.
- 1:02:27Even if there's small incremental things, these are
- 1:02:32very important in helping us take one step towards healing,
- 1:02:36you know, and once more step towards transformation.
- 1:02:39None of it all happens because of one thing.
- 1:02:42It's a combination of things, and we've talked about this
- 1:02:45before that it's really like the perfect storm of elements that
- 1:02:51provide an opportunity to transform and to grow and to
- 1:02:55heal. And you know me getting involved
- 1:02:59with Mack and finally making the time and then being paired with
- 1:03:03you and then seeing the amount of sincerity that you had with
- 1:03:06your message. All of these things contributed
- 1:03:10to what remains A lasting friendship and A and a very, you
- 1:03:16know, rewarding medium of helping people to realize their
- 1:03:22vision, you know, realize their, their idea in their head,
- 1:03:26whether it's a handful of chords put together or a handful of
- 1:03:30verses put together. You know, we had nothing at the
- 1:03:34beginning of that experience there.
- 1:03:36Vicente and I sent you back to do a little bit of homework on a
- 1:03:40couple of things that you needed to kind of come up with.
- 1:03:42And I showed up the next day and you were ready to go.
- 1:03:45And that really got us over the first step, because if we all
- 1:03:50know that first step is pretty, pretty tall, the ones
- 1:03:53afterwards, the ones afterwards, get a little bit more
- 1:03:56surmountable as we go. And and I remember that one of
- 1:04:01Max volunteers who was kind of assigned to you and I SAT and
- 1:04:07made notes. You know, we're making notes the
- 1:04:09whole time while we were doing this program.
- 1:04:12And at the end he was so sweet because he came out and said,
- 1:04:14look, I have the on this piece of paper, no idea, you know, at
- 1:04:18the very beginning of the process, no idea just yet.
- 1:04:22And then once we got over that first step of realizing what
- 1:04:27kind of material we needed to to crystallize this vision, you
- 1:04:31stepped up and we're able to put the, you know come to the table
- 1:04:36in the next morning with the things that I mentioned to you
- 1:04:38are going to be kind of required in the basic songwriting thing,
- 1:04:42the songwriting format. So you know it, it, it took you
- 1:04:46out of your comfort zone and created a a different way of
- 1:04:49looking at things for you. And I think once we do that
- 1:04:53those kind of distractions and those tasks you know are really
- 1:04:57valuable because they take your mind off the problem and put
- 1:05:01your mind more into a solution based mindset.
- 1:05:05And boy howdy, you know, I mean going into the barn with all
- 1:05:08that hay and sitting around and the quiet with our guitars was
- 1:05:13so conducive to being able to get that out, you know, and get
- 1:05:16it crystallized and get it kind of formed.
- 1:05:18Push the poop into a pile as it were, you know.
- 1:05:21And we were, we were able to to we got very lucky and so did the
- 1:05:26other vets involved in this. I was so impressed by their
- 1:05:31willingness to share their their pain or their their healing or
- 1:05:35whatever aspect of it you want to focus on it.
- 1:05:39It was an amazing experience. I really have to, again, just
- 1:05:45motivate and and express to your listeners and anybody out there
- 1:05:49who is trying to express what they're feeling, to get involved
- 1:05:52with programs like this and to not let lack of musical
- 1:05:56experience or a musical acumen get in the way, You know, John
- 1:06:00Lennon said some great stuff about songwriting.
- 1:06:03Say what you feel, make it rhyme and put a beat behind it and
- 1:06:07there it is. There it is and there it is.
- 1:06:10Man, you know, he was a smart guy.
- 1:06:12He knew what he was talking about when it came to writing
- 1:06:13songs. So, you know, I would just say
- 1:06:17that the overall, the overall message that I have from that
- 1:06:21experience just goes out to anybody out there, veteran or
- 1:06:25not, that if you have something you need to say, this is a great
- 1:06:29medium in which to do it and it's very rewarding.
- 1:06:32And even though it might, you might feel trepidation at the
- 1:06:35beginning of it because of lack of experience or any of that.
- 1:06:38You know, we all gained something and we all enjoy the
- 1:06:43process of getting better at something and watching ourselves
- 1:06:46improve and we're all trying to be the best versions of who we
- 1:06:50can be. And these are vehicles in which
- 1:06:54we can do that. And and they may seem like small
- 1:06:58increments and they may seem like small steps, but they're
- 1:07:01steps forward. And that's what this is all
- 1:07:04about, you know, And until you do that, you know you're kind of
- 1:07:08running in place. So it does take a little bit of
- 1:07:11self motivation or a good kick in the rear by somebody close to
- 1:07:15you to say go do this, you know, go go do this because you're
- 1:07:19going to be happy regardless of what the quality and a big
- 1:07:23musical level is going to be with the final product.
- 1:07:26It's what it does for you. Here is really what it's all
- 1:07:29about. And you know, of all the magical
- 1:07:31things that happened to him in these, in these events, I think
- 1:07:36for me, one of the most profound is to see, like you said, you
- 1:07:40know, you come in there, 9099% of us come in there with the
- 1:07:43trepidation. We're nervous, you know, we're
- 1:07:46we're insecure. We're quiet, reserved, you know,
- 1:07:49And by the end of the man we have just blossomed.
- 1:07:52And it's just so cool to see. Yeah, you you got it.
- 1:07:58Yeah. I mean, there's more to it than
- 1:08:00the music, you know, And we experienced that together,
- 1:08:04Vicente, in real time. And you know, I was so moved.
- 1:08:09What what to Just to explain to your viewers and your listeners
- 1:08:12that you know when we did this, we blasted a version of the
- 1:08:16song, as done as we could have it at the time into your phone.
- 1:08:21And we recorded a quick version of us both playing acoustic
- 1:08:23guitars and singing the harmonies together into your
- 1:08:26phone. And you know that helped us to
- 1:08:30kind of have a little template to work from, especially for the
- 1:08:33showcase portion of the program, which was at, as you said at the
- 1:08:36end when everybody gathered in the big barn and we everybody
- 1:08:41played, told their stories and played their song with their
- 1:08:44accompanist and and got it done. I I was so moved by this
- 1:08:49experience that when I got home, you know, this studio I'm in is
- 1:08:54a functioning studio and it has been for many years and I
- 1:08:57recorded and produced a lot of music here, all different kind
- 1:09:00of stuff, Broadway commercials, voiceovers, everything.
- 1:09:06But what I have here is an amazing toolkit that allows me
- 1:09:09to put together things around ideas.
- 1:09:12So if we need a drum beat, we can find that.
- 1:09:14If we need bass parts, we can play them, you know?
- 1:09:18Same with all the other instrumentation.
- 1:09:20And I was so moved by what we did that I came home unbeknownst
- 1:09:26to you and just began to build a track around our song and, you
- 1:09:31know, came up with the kind of feel that I thought would be
- 1:09:33appropriate for it. The kind of groove that it
- 1:09:37needed, the kind of sort of skeleton that we that I thought
- 1:09:41was appropriate for the fuel of the tune.
- 1:09:42And then slowly but surely began to flesh it out by putting
- 1:09:45guitar parts on it and keys and some bass stuff and pretty soon
- 1:09:49it sounds like a band playing your song.
- 1:09:52Just to explain to your listeners.
- 1:09:53I then tasked you with singing your part into your phone and
- 1:09:58sending me the the, the WAV file of your vocal take.
- 1:10:03And after we did a few takes of that, you know, and got
- 1:10:06something that that I could work with and edit with.
- 1:10:09You know, I just placed it inside the track and began to
- 1:10:14kind of edit and put it together and make it work.
- 1:10:16And as as you said, you know, make you sound like the rock
- 1:10:19star that you are, you know and and you know it was a real treat
- 1:10:25to put that together. You know, I do that as as part
- 1:10:28of my income. You know, that's what I do for a
- 1:10:30living is help people, you know, realize their ideas, whether
- 1:10:34there's commercial idea or something personal or something
- 1:10:37like what we're doing. And so it was a pleasure to put
- 1:10:40it all together and to watch it, as you say, blossom and become
- 1:10:45something that was actually a bit bigger than what we started
- 1:10:48with. You know it really did take on a
- 1:10:49life of its own and and a great song will do that.
- 1:10:54You know a great sincere idea will do that and that as I think
- 1:10:58what I keyed into as a production guy, as a music guy
- 1:11:02with the sincerity of everybody's idea from that
- 1:11:06weekend, not just yours and mine but everyone who was involved in
- 1:11:10that. All the lyrics came from the
- 1:11:12heart. All the chord changes came from
- 1:11:14the heart. And that is something that's so
- 1:11:17desperately missing from popular music right now is actual vibe.
- 1:11:21You know actual sincerity. And I think that's what I keyed
- 1:11:26into was the amount of just heartfelt feeling and
- 1:11:30expression. You know and and you know, we
- 1:11:35cannot deny the medicinal, therapeutic quality of what that
- 1:11:39process brought us and what the final result was.
- 1:11:43And I I'm so curious to know what your mom thought of that
- 1:11:47and what the reaction was. Yeah, it's funny you say that,
- 1:11:49cause. And and I told myself I wasn't
- 1:11:51going to cry, but my, you know, soldier songs and voices had a
- 1:11:599/11 memorial event where we, you know, the performers, we had
- 1:12:05people from different chapters in the United States.
- 1:12:09And I performed that song for my mom and she cried, dude.
- 1:12:14And I was just so touched. I I didn't think I was going to
- 1:12:16be able to get through it, 'cause I saw her all the time,
- 1:12:20you know? Hey Jamie, we're we're trying to
- 1:12:22search for your website. Can you tell us the what your
- 1:12:26website is so that we can bring that up and share that with
- 1:12:29everybody? Sure.
- 1:12:31It's called Damian Smith music. DAMIANSMITH, music.com.
- 1:12:38There's all sorts of stuff in there.
- 1:12:41Music samples, video samples, you can buy music that I've
- 1:12:47made, you know it's it. It functions as the usual thing
- 1:12:52for somebody who is self-employed trying to self
- 1:12:55promote. But hopefully it's accessible
- 1:12:59and you can find it. But I encourage anybody to get
- 1:13:02involved with that if they like, if that's if you go for that
- 1:13:04kind of thing. We're getting ready to, we're
- 1:13:08getting ready to share it now and you know, you can kind of
- 1:13:11walk us through, you know, different things, especially
- 1:13:15like your demos and stuff. Other radio stations can pick
- 1:13:21that up as well. And Damian's one of the featured
- 1:13:24artists that has agreed to come into studio here in this year
- 1:13:28sometime and perform. Oh yeah, I will.
- 1:13:32We love that. Last time it was Tim Rock that.
- 1:13:41Oh, so, Damian, real quick as as he's getting that up, did your
- 1:13:43dad, Was there ever any prodding from your dad is to fall in his
- 1:13:48operatic footsteps? Absolutely not.
- 1:13:52He tried to discourage me. He just, he just, he would.
- 1:13:56He spent more energy at the onset of my interest in music,
- 1:13:59trying to discourage me from getting involved in the music
- 1:14:03business because it's a very difficult business to be
- 1:14:07successful at. It's really, really hard.
- 1:14:09And for a lot of years I kind of resented his resistance to my
- 1:14:14involvement in it. But I realized what he was
- 1:14:18actually doing was was trying to see my level of motivation.
- 1:14:22He was really just testing my metal.
- 1:14:25Back in those days, we still had LP records, you know, vinyl
- 1:14:29albums. And I came home with one that I
- 1:14:34had made with a band called Mr. Myers, amazing Caribbean rock
- 1:14:38band that still endures after 40 plus years, an incredible cat
- 1:14:43named Todd Donnelly who was involved in runs that band.
- 1:14:46He gave me my first real shot at at a professional gig and Todd
- 1:14:53was very generous with his time and his patience because I was
- 1:14:56quite the young upstart. In any case, I came home with
- 1:14:58that record in 1984 and that he went OK, nice.
- 1:15:06He looked at it and kind of put it in his in his bookcase with
- 1:15:09the rest of the records and and he didn't really get too much
- 1:15:13acknowledgement from him. And then I made another one and
- 1:15:17brought that home. And then I made another one and
- 1:15:20got involved in another one. And I think by the third album
- 1:15:22he went OK, I I think this kids serious about what he's trying
- 1:15:27to do. And once we bridge that gap with
- 1:15:32each other and he realized that I was not messing around, that
- 1:15:36it wasn't a hobby for me, that I really did want to get into the
- 1:15:39family business. And I was determined to do So.
- 1:15:42He sang at such a high level, Vicente, and performed and acted
- 1:15:46at such a high level that that became my work ethic.
- 1:15:49That became the bar by which I I really measured every bit of
- 1:15:54output that I had. And I think once we bridged that
- 1:15:58gap and got over that little hump together, we were able to
- 1:16:02sit and talk about the challenges of our most recent
- 1:16:05gig, musician to musician. And that moment of
- 1:16:10transformation, that moment, that clicking was so important
- 1:16:15to me because I would come off the road after months of living
- 1:16:17on a bus or touring and doing that stuff.
- 1:16:20And I could speak to him musician to musician.
- 1:16:23And then the wisdom from his end of the business started really
- 1:16:27flowing in my direction. And he would say he had all
- 1:16:31sorts of great little phrases and things.
- 1:16:34And he would say things that were so profound that ring true
- 1:16:37to me now, especially as I approach, you know, this point
- 1:16:42in my career. All of those work ethic ideas
- 1:16:47and all of those principles of performance are more profound
- 1:16:51today than they ever have been, especially as you get older and
- 1:16:54maybe your hands don't work as well as they used to or you
- 1:16:59know, your brain is a little foggy from too many bongs in the
- 1:17:0170s or, you know, you're, you can't remember every, you know,
- 1:17:05every lyric of every tune. And and so, you know, it really
- 1:17:09does to this day. Even though he has been past now
- 1:17:12for a couple years, there's been a a tremendous amount of help
- 1:17:17and perspective provided by his, his tutelage and his constant
- 1:17:23support of what I was doing and and what I continue to do.
- 1:17:27And so you know, once, once he realized that I was serious
- 1:17:31about this, that's when we kind of got on board with each other.
- 1:17:35And we could even talk about specific mechanics of songs and
- 1:17:38and performance and all of the slings and arrows that are
- 1:17:42involved in trying to perform in a live venue and get your point
- 1:17:47across and not be distracted by all of the other the hullabaloo
- 1:17:51that's going on around you. And just stay focused on what it
- 1:17:54is that you're there to do and and who the gig is really about.
- 1:17:58You know, he, he used to say, you know, let the gig come to
- 1:18:04you. You know, don't don't run to go
- 1:18:07jump in there and try and impress or do any of that.
- 1:18:10Let the gig come to you. And it took a while for me to
- 1:18:12understand what that meant. And it's counterintuitive.
- 1:18:14You're like, what? Wait, A.
- 1:18:15Minute. Oh, well, so is watching the
- 1:18:17greatest performer I'd ever been around tell me to stay out of
- 1:18:20the business. You know, it's it's a you'll
- 1:18:22never make the money you need to make.
- 1:18:23You're going to be surrounded by a lot of weird people that
- 1:18:26you're not going to be able to make sense of, you know, create
- 1:18:29creative people are really eccentric and and it's really
- 1:18:31confusing and it's hard to stay focused.
- 1:18:33And he was right about all of that.
- 1:18:35But when I look at the rest of the world and what they deal
- 1:18:39with at their jobs, I mean come on, Vicente, they don't call
- 1:18:42this playing for nothing. You know, It is playing.
- 1:18:45We are playing, you know, and I consider myself incredibly
- 1:18:49fortunate to be able to play for a living and putting my guitar
- 1:18:54on. Especially now in older years
- 1:18:58with so many of my musician friends and family that have
- 1:19:00passed on, I I really embraced the profundity of the moment of
- 1:19:06being able to put a guitar on and spend the next two or three
- 1:19:10hours singing to you. You know, that is a gift that I
- 1:19:13can't even begin to describe the value of and.
- 1:19:17And so I consider myself very lucky to have not only been able
- 1:19:20to do that, but to be able to support my family and put food
- 1:19:24on the table with the proceeds from what I'm doing.
- 1:19:27That's very rare. And that's what my father was
- 1:19:29trying to make me aware of at the at the early stages of my
- 1:19:33career. You're going to be hungry a lot
- 1:19:35and you're going to be rejected a lot.
- 1:19:39You know, rejection is 9/10 of what goes on in the music
- 1:19:42business, you know, because there's always somebody younger
- 1:19:46and prettier than you in line to do the job that you're trying to
- 1:19:49get. So you really have to come to
- 1:19:51the table with a skill set and a level of confidence that will
- 1:19:59allow you to kind of overcome those things, you know?
- 1:20:02So are you? Do do you have any formal
- 1:20:06education? Are you all self-taught?
- 1:20:07Did you take vocal classes or did you go get a music degree
- 1:20:11or? Well, my my dad taught the
- 1:20:14neighborhood wannabes and other professional musicians in the
- 1:20:17house. I was lucky at the house I grew
- 1:20:20up in, that my room, my bedroom, was right next to his studio and
- 1:20:24shared a wall with the studio that he did all his work in.
- 1:20:27So believe me, Vicente, I heard hundreds of people sucking it.
- 1:20:33Like just doing scales horribly for many, many years.
- 1:20:39And what you learn from those, from that is not only the value
- 1:20:43of watching somebody improve and the joy of improving as you go
- 1:20:50and watching that process, but you also learn a lot about what
- 1:20:53not to do. Because if somebody was really
- 1:20:56having a struggling moment, my father had such a gentle
- 1:20:59demeanor about the way he would motivate people.
- 1:21:03He was really a brilliant educator in every level, and
- 1:21:06listening to him help that person get better is what I
- 1:21:10keyed into and that and just generally being around all of
- 1:21:15that incredible music all the time, day and night, every day
- 1:21:19for so. You are formally educated.
- 1:21:21I did go to Northern Illinois University after graduating from
- 1:21:27Fenwick High School. I went to Northern Illinois
- 1:21:29University and you know, again, it was still during the stage
- 1:21:32when my dad was saying stay out of this, you know, get a formal
- 1:21:36education and something that you can fall back on.
- 1:21:39And you know Vicente. Within three months I was out of
- 1:21:42the School of Business and right into the music school and
- 1:21:44working on an associate's degree to try and at least get my sight
- 1:21:48reading and my basic skills together.
- 1:21:50Harmony and music theory. And I was lucky because at that
- 1:21:56time there was some amazing people on the staff at the music
- 1:21:59school at NIU. And I spent about 3 or 4
- 1:22:04semesters in that program achieving the the the
- 1:22:09associate's degree of just trying to get my music basics
- 1:22:12together. And I passed the audition for
- 1:22:14Mr. Myers and lived on a bus for the next three years.
- 1:22:17So I never really got a chance to finish what I started because
- 1:22:22I went directly into the business and believe you and yet
- 1:22:27another go ahead. Well, that in itself was a huge
- 1:22:31education. I I really do have to say I need
- 1:22:37encourage people to get their basic theory stuff together so
- 1:22:40they can understand what harmony is about, understand the basics
- 1:22:44of songwriting, understand working in an ensemble program
- 1:22:48with others, even some that you might not get along with, you
- 1:22:52know? Does that sound familiar,
- 1:22:54military folks? You know, you have to learn how
- 1:22:57to contribute and be part of the team.
- 1:23:00Even though there's a million things that are working against
- 1:23:03it, You know, it really does prove who you are and what
- 1:23:06you're about. And getting the opportunity from
- 1:23:09Todd Donnelly to get on the road with a professional band and get
- 1:23:13ink into my book and have dates in my book that I knew I had to
- 1:23:16go do, that really was reinforced by the work ethic
- 1:23:20that my father brought me up with.
- 1:23:22And and so, you know, I have a little bit of background in the
- 1:23:28formal parts of it, Vicente, but really not enough to fill the
- 1:23:31smallest drawer in the desk. You know, I got most of my
- 1:23:36experience from experience and and those were, those were
- 1:23:41valuable, valuable things and they continue to be every time
- 1:23:44there's adversity at the gig. Now in older age with a little
- 1:23:49bit more experience, you come home and you try and learn from
- 1:23:52those things instead of raging against them.
- 1:23:55You know you try and process them and and realize that
- 1:23:58they're there to teach you something you know.
- 1:24:01And so I try and keep that attitude of gratitude and
- 1:24:06positivity even when things are really difficult to believe me.
- 1:24:10I I have lots of high maintenance high expectation
- 1:24:14clients that are almost impossible to please and satisfy
- 1:24:18and all you can do is do your best and fall back on the
- 1:24:22tailwind that you have of experience and try and remember
- 1:24:26that you know you don't have to marry the gig you just got to do
- 1:24:29it. You know you know it's it's
- 1:24:32that's The thing is is let's not forget yeah you know let's not
- 1:24:37forget what we're really there to do.
- 1:24:39You know, I spent so many years playing in Taverns and pubs and
- 1:24:43the corners of bars, next to the dartboard or under the TV with
- 1:24:47SportsCenter on and feeling like, what am I doing here?
- 1:24:50And, you know, I met that challenge by drinking as much as
- 1:24:53I possibly could, and that was not good.
- 1:24:58I got sober about four years ago and I had a real challenge of
- 1:25:02how am I going to do this? How am I going to go back into
- 1:25:05this environment and and you know sober and and what is my
- 1:25:11role here. You know what how am I going to
- 1:25:13do this And I, and I'm not the first musician to go through
- 1:25:16this this this experience and what I had to do is figure it
- 1:25:20out a mindset how I was going to do it and stay healthy.
- 1:25:25And what I realized is that most people who are in bars are
- 1:25:27hurting. You know, they're they're
- 1:25:30they're hurt. Whether it's physically or
- 1:25:33emotionally, mentally, whatever. They're they're trying to
- 1:25:36process something that's that's hurting them.
- 1:25:39And music, as you know, is medicine.
- 1:25:43And as soon as I embraced the idea that I was showing up with
- 1:25:46my doctor bag in the form of my guitar case, and I was
- 1:25:49administering medicine in the form of my music or Van
- 1:25:52Morrison's music or The Beatles or Led Zeppelin or whoever I
- 1:25:56was, you know, George Jones or whoever I was singing, I started
- 1:26:00to realize that my job there is to administer medicine to the
- 1:26:03sick. And as soon as I embraced that
- 1:26:07part of my role in that daily experience of opera ski, when
- 1:26:10people are drunk at 4:00 in the afternoon, like they're drunk at
- 1:26:14midnight, you realize that you're there to help them
- 1:26:18through whatever it is they're doing, whether it's revelry
- 1:26:20because they're on vacation and they're enjoying themselves or
- 1:26:23whether they're there trying to nurse a sick heart.
- 1:26:26So as soon as I figured out a way to process that experience,
- 1:26:30I got better at what I was doing.
- 1:26:33You know, my performances got more sincere.
- 1:26:36My reaction to adversity at the gig was not rage meeting rage,
- 1:26:40not drunkenness meeting drunkenness.
- 1:26:42Because, you know, there's only so many times you can be spat
- 1:26:45at, you know, But you know, play, you know, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
- 1:26:49And then you're covered with their spit and you're going,
- 1:26:51well, can I just wipe off here before we move forward?
- 1:26:55And and I would, I would meet those moments with just the same
- 1:26:59kind of drunken rage that they would administer them to me.
- 1:27:02And and that wasn't the answer that didn't.
- 1:27:05That didn't make anything better.
- 1:27:07And now that I can look at it from a healthier perspective,
- 1:27:10I'm able to deal with moments like that with a little bit more
- 1:27:14graciousness, you know, a little more understanding and a little
- 1:27:16more empathy, which is what is required.
- 1:27:21Yeah. You know, you know, I asked for
- 1:27:24the news, not the weather, you know, that kind of thing.
- 1:27:27But, you know, I I've been able to, I've been able to figure out
- 1:27:32a way to kind of process it better and come to peace and
- 1:27:35come to terms with what it's going to be.
- 1:27:37And the other thing it did, Vicente, was motivate me to aim
- 1:27:41higher. You know, get out of the bars,
- 1:27:43get out of that environment and only engage in that environment
- 1:27:49with people on the staff that I wanted to work with in the type
- 1:27:52of place that I wanted to work. You know, if I was going to go
- 1:27:56out there and have people kind of yelling song titles at me, it
- 1:28:00better be for really good money in a really great venue with a
- 1:28:03really great staff. And so now I'm a lot more choosy
- 1:28:07about the places I do that kind of thing.
- 1:28:10And I'm happy to say that my schedule is so busy in in in
- 1:28:14more conducive environments than that now.
- 1:28:17And it took me to sober up, realign what my ideas were,
- 1:28:21realign what my goals were, to get more into a controlled
- 1:28:28atmosphere for regular performances that pay better,
- 1:28:33that are more rewarding artistically for a better
- 1:28:36clientele or or or more appreciative clientele.
- 1:28:39I should say. You know, I cannot poo poo my
- 1:28:44bread and butter of all those years playing in bars because it
- 1:28:46supported me and it gave me the skill set and the set of
- 1:28:50experiences that I have now that helped me get through when times
- 1:28:54are tough at the gig. So I cannot push it aside and
- 1:28:58disavow it because it was such a central part of my experience.
- 1:29:04But I realized and. It and it played a vital.
- 1:29:07Yeah, it it in fact. You know it played a vital.
- 1:29:09Role and you're absolutely. You're able to do you do now
- 1:29:13without that. You know what?
- 1:29:14I mean, absolutely. You're so right.
- 1:29:17And and so now I use it as part of that experience tailwind that
- 1:29:22I'm telling you about. You know that, you know, I
- 1:29:25played for a bunch of clients the other day at the head of a
- 1:29:28table of a bunch of eight-year old women.
- 1:29:30And I sat at the head of the table and sang to them and the
- 1:29:35the food and beverage director at the end of the gig said, wow,
- 1:29:38that was an amazing job. It must be very difficult.
- 1:29:41Wasn't that difficult being like right up on them and and playing
- 1:29:44right to them? And I said no, man, you know, a
- 1:29:46difficult gig is a funeral. You know, try singing a funeral
- 1:29:50for somebody that you loved, you know, or that somebody who has
- 1:29:54died tragically. That's a tough gig.
- 1:29:58You know, a gig where it's operate, skiing, somebody'd
- 1:30:01yelling sweet home Alabama into your face.
- 1:30:03That's not tough. That's just another kind of
- 1:30:05extension of why my dad told me to stay out of the business.
- 1:30:09It's really just another, you know, moment of adversity that
- 1:30:14you had that your character has to overcome and you've got to,
- 1:30:16you know, fall back on who you are and find out who you are in
- 1:30:20those moments. You know, you and I talked about
- 1:30:22it being kind of the path to God moment.
- 1:30:24It shouldn't be this big adversity.
- 1:30:27Why me? Why is this happening to me?
- 1:30:29I'm such the victim. It should be more like, boy,
- 1:30:32this is sure helping you figure out what, what you're made of,
- 1:30:34isn't it? And you know, I've tried to key
- 1:30:38into that because a tough gig is not playing for a bunch of
- 1:30:41beautiful old 80 year old women who just want to hear some Eagle
- 1:30:44songs. The tough gig is when you're
- 1:30:47standing next to a casket with a family who is absolutely
- 1:30:51overcome with grief and and and somehow easing the pain of that
- 1:30:57experience. That's that's a tough gig, you
- 1:31:01know. So, you know, I think with
- 1:31:05sobriety comes from perspective. Waking up to yourself, forgiving
- 1:31:10yourself, moving on, recognizing that you're not the same person
- 1:31:15you were As long as you have been able to recognize the
- 1:31:20transformation, you know that water is not coming back under
- 1:31:24that bridge, man. It's gone.
- 1:31:26It's gone. And you're not the same person
- 1:31:28standing at the edge of the river either, you know?
- 1:31:31So as long as you can, you know, healthfully recognize that
- 1:31:37moment and what that moment has to offer, and you can gain
- 1:31:40enough clarity to have that moment, then you can take that
- 1:31:43to your next gig. That might not be the smoothest
- 1:31:45gig ever in the greatest venue under the greatest circumstances
- 1:31:48ever. You know there are no perfect
- 1:31:51gigs, Vicente. There's no such thing.
- 1:31:54You're always going to clam a couple of notes, forget a couple
- 1:31:56of words but instead of you know, instead of demanding
- 1:32:02perfection from all these moments with with, those moments
- 1:32:06of imperfection are are human moments.
- 1:32:08Moments of humanity. And if you get hip to yourself
- 1:32:12about not taking it too seriously and learning from
- 1:32:15them, they can be amazing. They can be amazing and and very
- 1:32:19educational. And that's why, again, it comes
- 1:32:21back to encouraging people who have something to say and
- 1:32:26haven't been able to figure out a way to express it, to get
- 1:32:29involved in your program in Denver with the singers and
- 1:32:32songwriters, the soldiers and songs, and get involved with
- 1:32:35music therapy programs that are going on all over their state
- 1:32:39for veterans and people who weren't involved in the
- 1:32:41military. The thing is, get involved with
- 1:32:44a medium that allows you to express how you feel.
- 1:32:48I don't care if it's picking up a paintbrush, you know, writing
- 1:32:52a song, writing poetry, writing lyrics, you know, getting
- 1:32:55involved with helping kids learn how to play a sport, whatever it
- 1:32:59is, you got to take that first step.
- 1:33:02It may seem like a very difficult step to take in, a
- 1:33:05very large step, but once you do that, you've opened the door to
- 1:33:09a world of transformation that allows you to become a better
- 1:33:12person. And that's what we're all trying
- 1:33:13to do. Oh my God, dude, wow.
- 1:33:18This has been so profound. And and I appreciate your
- 1:33:21candor, 'cause you know, one of the things, you know, being a a
- 1:33:24narcissistic perfectionist, which is a deadly combination.
- 1:33:29I I'm, I'm always beating myself up.
- 1:33:31You know, it's got to be perfect.
- 1:33:32It's got to be. And it's just so, you know, from
- 1:33:35a guy with your vast experience. It's so reassuring and and and
- 1:33:42helpful to hear, hey dude, you're going to flub this.
- 1:33:45You're going to flub. It's OK.
- 1:33:46That's part of the growing process.
- 1:33:48And just embrace it and love it and move on and and don't don't
- 1:33:52obsess it. Absolutely.
- 1:33:54I I just think those human moments are of so much value.
- 1:33:58And even though on the onset they may feel a little
- 1:34:01uncomfortable or like you said earlier, a little
- 1:34:03counterintuitive, you know, honestly, those are the moments
- 1:34:07that make us who we are. And we're all trying to be the
- 1:34:11best version of who we can be or we're trying to get on the road
- 1:34:16to healing and forgiveness. And these are the things that
- 1:34:20are part of, like you just said, part of that process.
- 1:34:23You know, if you're looking for perfection, stay out of music,
- 1:34:27you know? You know, If you're looking to
- 1:34:30not be rejected, stay out of the creative medium because you
- 1:34:34know, expecting no rejection in music is like, you know,
- 1:34:39expecting to get into boxing without getting punched in the
- 1:34:42face. You know, So you know these
- 1:34:45these are, you know, it's, it's real, you know, but if you
- 1:34:49embrace those human moments. That wasn't.
- 1:34:52In the. Posture.
- 1:34:53Yeah, no one said I was going to get punched in the face.
- 1:34:56So, you know, really I again, I I just my overall feeling about
- 1:35:01this whole thing with you and and with Mac Bailey and music
- 1:35:04therapy in general, is to encourage people who have
- 1:35:07something inside that they need to get out to get involved with
- 1:35:10these programs. And you will not be
- 1:35:13disappointed. You will not be disappointed
- 1:35:16even if the increment is this much, even if it's just
- 1:35:19something that is one small baby step forward.
- 1:35:22That's huge. That is huge.
- 1:35:25So take those gigs, take those challenges.
- 1:35:30You know it. You're absolutely right.
- 1:35:31I mean, you know, to hear that your mother was moved to tears
- 1:35:35off of something that we had. No, they'd started out out of
- 1:35:37nothing. You know, we we had no clear
- 1:35:40idea of where we were going when we got paired up together.
- 1:35:43And the end result was moving your mother to a level of
- 1:35:47emotion that that is just so utterly profound.
- 1:35:51That goes to show you right there.
- 1:35:53If that's not proof positive of how impactful getting involved
- 1:35:57in these kind of programs is, I I just don't know what you're
- 1:35:59looking for. You know, you know this has been
- 1:36:04great. I'm looking forward to
- 1:36:05continuing it. I'm totally excited about the
- 1:36:08idea of coming down to Denver and getting into the studio and
- 1:36:10playing. I really would like you to
- 1:36:13continue with your songwriting journey, you know and hopefully
- 1:36:17we can find time to collaborate again.
- 1:36:20And I'm certainly looking forward to getting a call from
- 1:36:23Mac Bailey to be involved in the next round of of music therapy
- 1:36:29for this summer. And you know, as I told Mac that
- 1:36:32the last time we sang at Snowmass Chapel together, I I
- 1:36:35just don't want to know what life is like without this, this
- 1:36:39element in it, which is helping someone express how they're
- 1:36:43feeling so that they can feel better about it, you know?
- 1:36:49Yeah, man. No.
- 1:36:50No regrets. No regrets.
- 1:36:52So you know, it's that time of the show, Daniel.
- 1:36:55It's been awesome. Time to shine.
- 1:36:58It's a time to shine. So this is your opportunity to
- 1:37:00talk about anything we didn't cover or give, you know?
- 1:37:03Something that does is, you know, burning on your lips.
- 1:37:06You just want fun to get out or, you know, just anything that you
- 1:37:11want to share. So it's your time to shine,
- 1:37:13baby. It's the time to shine.
- 1:37:20Well, again, I think, I think the overall message here is, is
- 1:37:25that the expressive mediums in art are there to help you there,
- 1:37:31help you. They're there to help you share.
- 1:37:33They're there to help you heal. They're there to help you
- 1:37:36forgive yourself from anything you're going through.
- 1:37:39And you are really the key to that first step.
- 1:37:44And if you're lucky and the circumstances are right, you'll
- 1:37:49be surrounded by people who share your concerns and share
- 1:37:54your need to express yourself. If you don't find these areas of
- 1:37:59support close enough to you, then move yourself closer to
- 1:38:04them. Do what you have to do to get
- 1:38:07around people that you can collaborate with and work with
- 1:38:11to realize your vision and get yourself expressed the way you
- 1:38:15need to. If that means going to church,
- 1:38:18go for it. If that means going to a A, go
- 1:38:21for it. If that means just getting
- 1:38:23involved in community, stuff that gets you around other
- 1:38:25people, community activities, do it sometimes.
- 1:38:30You know, the overall thing in this is that nobody's going to
- 1:38:32lift the hand for you. You do have to take a little bit
- 1:38:35of personal motivation and responsibility for improving
- 1:38:39your situation. If you can do that, take that
- 1:38:42small step towards it. If it's not automatically coming
- 1:38:45to you and you're not as lucky as you and I were, you know, to
- 1:38:49be paired up, go find somebody to get paired up with.
- 1:38:52A lot of those things are closer to you than you think.
- 1:38:56They're there in your community, They're there in your family,
- 1:38:59you know. And if you're hurting, this is
- 1:39:02the path to getting better. Go towards places that are
- 1:39:06healthy. Go towards activities that are
- 1:39:08healthy for you and to people that are going to help you in
- 1:39:12spreading your message and healing yourself, because that's
- 1:39:15what this is all about. You know there's plenty of
- 1:39:18musicians out there that are in the business because they like
- 1:39:20the sound of their own voices. You know and that's it.
- 1:39:23And you can tell those people from the others, from the more
- 1:39:27sincere performers immediately. I think with a lot of people who
- 1:39:31are non musicians, I think the bullshit flag goes up very
- 1:39:34quickly when they feel that something is not sincere.
- 1:39:37And I think immediately they react positively to people who
- 1:39:41are really coming from a place that's real and they recognize
- 1:39:46that whether they realize it or not, it's on a visceral level.
- 1:39:49Something in their gut tells them this person means what
- 1:39:52they're singing. You know?
- 1:39:55And believe me, there's enough people in entertainment that are
- 1:39:58there specifically to put put themselves forward.
- 1:40:02Really what this is about is self discovery.
- 1:40:05Self healing, transformation and and helping others to
- 1:40:09understand, hey, it's out there, you can do this sometimes you
- 1:40:13got to take a little more effort and not everything's going to be
- 1:40:16handed to you. You know you are going to have
- 1:40:18to work at it. But the rewards, as you know
- 1:40:21Vicente, I mean the rewards are so valuable and the non monetary
- 1:40:25rewards end up being some of the most valuable things that you
- 1:40:29get out of the experience. And and Damien, truly that
- 1:40:34that's that's life. I mean anything that you want to
- 1:40:37that's worthwhile, that's, that's that's, that's, you know,
- 1:40:41going to be uplifting for you or for others, it takes effort.
- 1:40:46You know, if you want to be good at something, you have to put in
- 1:40:49the time. You know, you want to be a good
- 1:40:51granddad, you want to be a good husband, you want to be a good
- 1:40:54golfer, You got to put in the time.
- 1:40:56It's not. It's not.
- 1:40:56There's no magic pill. And and you're exactly right.
- 1:41:00And I think when you get into the sports analogies, which is a
- 1:41:02tricky place to be, we all know that if we go golfing with a
- 1:41:08professional golfer, we're going to play better.
- 1:41:11If we sit down with a professional musician to play
- 1:41:14music, we're going to play better.
- 1:41:16We're going to learn something from them.
- 1:41:18So get around the people that you respect and that whose work
- 1:41:23moves you Get around them and key into what that thing is that
- 1:41:28motivates you. Because we all know that if we
- 1:41:31surround ourselves with good people, we're going to get
- 1:41:34better at whatever we're trying to do, whether it's just us that
- 1:41:37we're trying to be better at us or better at golf, skiing,
- 1:41:41guitar playing, you know, house painting, whatever it is you get
- 1:41:45around an expert or somebody who's playing at a higher level,
- 1:41:48you're going to automatically perform better.
- 1:41:52You're automatically going to be a better version of yourself
- 1:41:55just from taking the time to motivate yourself to be around
- 1:41:59those types of people. So the big thing is that success
- 1:42:03comes to a lot of people in the creative medium who are smart
- 1:42:06enough to surround themselves with smart, innovative people
- 1:42:10who are willing to take risks and who are in in the game
- 1:42:15because of the art, because of the process of making art, not
- 1:42:18because I love the sound of my voice or I think my voice is
- 1:42:22here and yours is here or my, you know, that's that's so true.
- 1:42:26So get around people who represent the best version of
- 1:42:30what you're trying to do and key into what it's what it is about
- 1:42:34them that's got you motivated. And stick with it because it's a
- 1:42:39lot of work, you know? It takes a lot to do it.
- 1:42:43So, you know, believe in yourself.
- 1:42:47Get involved in these programs that are a step away from you.
- 1:42:50Sometimes they're right under your nose and you don't know it.
- 1:42:53Get involved in these things and express yourself.
- 1:42:56You're going to feel better even if you think the song or the the
- 1:43:00picture of the painting, the project, whatever.
- 1:43:03Even if you perceive it to be falling perpetually on its ass,
- 1:43:07you are still moving forward by having gone through the process.
- 1:43:11And the more you do it, the better you get.
- 1:43:14I know it doesn't feel like that on the onset, but believe me, if
- 1:43:17you continue to stay focused and continue to stay motivated, you
- 1:43:21will improve and you will wake up sometime after the process is
- 1:43:25over and go. I am better from that.
- 1:43:31Yes, so true. Have I shine.
- 1:43:33It's been such a pleasure. You do definitely shine and we
- 1:43:38appreciate your time and your insight and your knowledge and
- 1:43:41experiences. And I so look forward to future
- 1:43:44collaborations and you coming into the studio.
- 1:43:47We thank you for your time this morning.
- 1:43:50And. We wish you the best of of day
- 1:43:53and the best before and we will be in touch.

- 1:45:27Yes, yes, In fact we got you. I think you're coming in next
- 1:45:31week with us. I think a a Tuesday or a Monday

- 1:45:38over there guys, if you want to check it out.
- 1:45:40We got one of the best boxing shows on the Internet called
- 1:45:43Glove Fist. They have a bunch of great
- 1:45:46guests. They really know they're boxing

- 1:45:53We have on our start spreading the news Yankee show which is is
- 1:45:57on every Monday night at 9:00 PM.
- 1:46:00And then we also have a really great show called JMB Talking
- 1:46:05Shop with two former NFL football players, one being a
- 1:46:08two time Super Bowl champion Jim Jeffcoat and the other one a
- 1:46:12former wide receiver Byron Williams.
- 1:46:15So they know there's stuff. It's a really fun show.
- 1:46:18Well it Caveman and Mercury, they have a show on Wednesday as
- 1:46:23well and they they they know their stuff too.
- 1:46:26So we'll we'll we'll have to do a a show crossover for sure.
- 1:46:32Yeah, definitely. I'll do something like that.
- 1:46:35All right. Listen, I love working with you
- 1:46:36guys, Of course. I'm a former, former vet, six
- 1:46:39years in the Air Force from 84 to 90.
- 1:46:43Love getting, getting given veterans of voice.
- 1:46:47It took us a while to get together Joe, but we finally did
- 1:46:49it and I'm glad we did. Joe's been helping us out on
- 1:46:52some on some videos and and and some you know some of the
- 1:46:57overlays and that's great for us and hopefully we're adding some
- 1:47:02good content over there. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:06And Mac, this is V ^2. Nice to meet you.
- 1:47:09I served the same time I was in the Navy, 84 to 90.
- 1:47:13Right. Yeah, I was, I was there.
- 1:47:16I was, I was in para rescue. I was in the when they ousted
- 1:47:20Noriega there at Panama, the Contra Sandinista in war.
- 1:47:25I was in Korea for six months. So I I made it around the world.
- 1:47:28It was very interesting. And that's one thing that they
- 1:47:30do get for you. In fact, you know the service is
- 1:47:34a place to get an education, a place to get experience for a
- 1:47:37job, a place to go around the world.
- 1:47:39A little tough in the beginning, but after you get through that
- 1:47:41and you get your home base or or wherever you're going, it gets a
- 1:47:44lot easier. Yeah, I was a similar I was a
- 1:47:51combat diver on a sub. So yeah, I did some some crazy
- 1:47:55stuff too. So we'll definitely have to swap
- 1:47:57stories. Oh, definitely, definitely.
- 1:47:59We'll do that. So yeah, I I I haven't got a
- 1:48:02shot really to go over and check you guys out that much because
- 1:48:06I'm very busy promoting and running the Roku Channel and
- 1:48:10hosting and producing shows. So it's really busy.
- 1:48:13But I definitely will get over there.
- 1:48:14I I watched the of course the wrestling show that's come on
- 1:48:17over turnbuckles and stogies. I've had a chance to watch that,
- 1:48:22which is very entertaining. Yeah.
- 1:48:28Well, Mag, thank you so much for being on with us.
- 1:48:32For everybody else, it is that time, and it is tribute to the
- 1:48:35troops all. Right, sounds great.
- 1:48:40Sir, I don't. I don't know how to tell this
- 1:48:43story. Well, you got to joke.
- 1:48:47You telling her to people what these men do here?
- 1:48:50You tell them how much troopers died.
- 1:49:10Friends and family, thank you for tuning in today as MBR pays
- 1:49:14tribute to Special Forces Sergeant First Class Joshua Zack
- 1:49:18Bill, 32, of Carrollton, VA, who died on January 22nd, 2019 after
- 1:49:25sustaining injuries from small arms fire in Afghanistan.
- 1:49:30Bill was assigned to Third Special Forces Group out of Fort
- 1:49:34Bragg, NC. This was his fourth overseas
- 1:49:38tour and 3rd tour in Afghanistan.
- 1:49:40He enlisted in 2011 and had more than seven years of service in
- 1:49:45the Army. He is survived by his wife and
- 1:49:47two children. On behalf of everyone here in
- 1:49:50NBR, we want to say thank you Sergeant First Class Joshua Zack
- 1:49:54Bill, for your service and dedication to our country.
- 1:49:57Our thoughts and prayers are with your friends and family.
- 1:54:31Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, to the Revel
- 1:54:33Experience. He's been one of those days.
- 1:54:36It's another amazing interview, couple of interviews, just a lot
- 1:54:41of information, very informative.
- 1:54:44And I, you know, I got my ace crew here today, so we're
- 1:54:48rolling. We are on it today.
- 1:54:51You you guys are. I'm really impressed with you
- 1:54:55and Mercury. You guys are doing amazing, you
- 1:55:00know? Well, we had a great teacher.
- 1:55:02It's. Like Amy and let's say going to
- 1:55:05be around people that you respect, they'll teach.
- 1:55:09You wow, you guys are. You do it, you.
- 1:55:11Guys are laying on the bull crap, let me tell you.
- 1:55:14Oh, no, we're we're talking about Dave Armstrong.
- 1:55:16Oh, OK. All right.
- 1:55:18Yeah, there you go. As.
- 1:55:20I said you must be doing something.
- 1:55:21I keep coming. Back dude, it's Dunkin' Donuts,
- 1:55:25man. If I had, if I had like, you
- 1:55:28know King Super or or Walmart, Yeah, Donuts, yeah, they want.
- 1:55:33They want, yeah. I mean, hell, they were.
- 1:55:36They were here the other day because they was waiting for
- 1:55:39Jersey Mike. Jersey Mike's, yeah.
- 1:55:41Yeah, come on. We still haven't gone there on
- 1:55:42Jersey Mike's age train. What's going on?
- 1:55:45So before we go into like the final thoughts and stuff, you
- 1:55:49know, what do you guys got going on for a preview for your show
- 1:55:54for Wednesday? Yeah.
- 1:55:55Next week, well. This week's.
- 1:55:57Going on lots of visual round. Yeah, well, you know us.
- 1:56:01We'll be there. We'll be watching the Divisional
- 1:56:03Round, so we'll give you a kind of recap of the games, give us,
- 1:56:08give you our our championship weekend predictions, Super Bowl
- 1:56:12predictions. Yeah, you know within a minute
- 1:56:15can you kind of explain to those that aren't familiar with NFL
- 1:56:19like you know the this weekend is the division and then.
- 1:56:24Yeah, next week. You OK, man?
- 1:56:25You predicted the the Browns and Stroud really stuck it to them.
- 1:56:30Boy, their defense is picked apart.
- 1:56:32Joe Black, Man, I couldn't believe.
- 1:56:35I couldn't believe that game. And then and then, of course,
- 1:56:39you know, we got the Dallas Cowboys.
- 1:56:41Yeah. See, I had, I had Dallas Cowboys
- 1:56:43going all the way to the Super Bowl this year.
- 1:56:46My thought on it was like, if they don't make it that far,
- 1:56:49then when So, so real quick, what do you think?
- 1:56:52Why can't they get anywhere in the playoffs?
- 1:56:54What I I honestly think it's like same kind of curse the the
- 1:56:59the Broncos have. Yeah, it's.
- 1:57:03Ever since Jimmie Johnson was let go, the.
- 1:57:06Lack of leadership in Dallas. Like once it started going
- 1:57:09downhill, the hill almost got steeper.
- 1:57:12Well, it's micromanage, you know, and it's kind of like the
- 1:57:14same thing that happened with the Broncos, with Elway, Elway
- 1:57:17kind of micromanage. And you saw the, you know, you
- 1:57:20saw the travesty that happened after that.
- 1:57:23You know, there's always turning points.
- 1:57:25And with the Dallas Cowboys, I think it was Jimmie Johnson.
- 1:57:28So because ever since that switch, they they just have not
- 1:57:32been the same at all. And with Denver being the way it
- 1:57:36is, you know, we're we're we're surviving.
- 1:57:40We're not rebuilding. So you think McCarthy's gone?
- 1:57:43No, he's he's going to stay they they confirmed.
- 1:57:46He's he's staying there in Dallas.
- 1:57:48I thought for sure. Oh, after this I was like, you
- 1:57:52have to fire him. I mean, this is embarrassed like
- 1:57:55the third straight embarrassing loss like the first two was.
- 1:58:00They just mismanaged the end of a game of a close game.
- 1:58:05Both times it was against the 49ers where they just mismanaged
- 1:58:09the clock to all heck. But this, this one I mean you
- 1:58:12just got. Oh, Dang.
- 1:58:14Like you had a a first year starting quarterback.
- 1:58:18He just mopped the floor with your team.
- 1:58:20Yeah, one of the best defenses and offenses it has to be.
- 1:58:24A good. Defense.
- 1:58:25I mean top ten offense and defense and you guys are
- 1:58:30previously undefeated at home with like one of the largest
- 1:58:33margins of victory and just all fell apart.
- 1:58:37One of my friends is a is a Raiders fan.
- 1:58:40His cousin is like die hard for the Cowboys.
- 1:58:43So just like we're all just sitting in the Xbox party during
- 1:58:47that game and it was, it was bad, it was tragic.
- 1:58:51Well, you guys were running out of time.
- 1:58:54It is that time for the final thoughts. 554433221.
- 1:59:05One we have ignition stripping. It's the two-minute warning. 2
- 1:59:07minute warning what we? Won.
- 1:59:16Today sponsored by operationgoodboy.com Use code at
- 1:59:18Checkout. Military Discount Radio.
- 1:59:27Oh caveman, We'll start with you.
- 1:59:30Definitely just kind of learn today.
- 1:59:32The music industry is pretty similar to just about anything
- 1:59:36that involves being creative. Just got to keep motivation up,
- 1:59:40keep working, keep meeting new connections and eventually like
- 1:59:45it'll just take time. Yeah, Matt Rife has been doing
- 1:59:49this shift for 10 years and he said that he's just now
- 1:59:53starting. Yeah, he was on while and out a
- 1:59:56while before people knew him. He was on.
- 1:59:58A whole bunch of different shows.
- 2:00:00It's like small name guy before he actually started to blow up
- 2:00:03like that. And it may not have worked out
- 2:00:06for him considering his most recent publicity stuff.
- 2:00:10Well. That's, that's what you call a
- 2:00:13spotlight fad? Yeah, you know, that's the
- 2:00:16spotlight fad. What did you learn to be?
- 2:00:18I just learned when the most profound thing I learned is
- 2:00:22surround yourself by the by the people that you respect and that
- 2:00:26people that you want to inspire to be or aspire to be.
- 2:00:30And that's key for me, man. You, you, you know, I I tell my
- 2:00:34son this all the time, dude, you can't.
- 2:00:36If you want to do this and this in life and you know, get clean
- 2:00:40and sober, but you're still hanging around those loser drug
- 2:00:42addicts and Elkies, it's not going to work.
- 2:00:44They're not going to. They don't care about you and
- 2:00:46they're not going to help you. So how about you, Mercury?
- 2:00:50I learned that the New York Post will just about write about
- 2:00:53anything. I went, I went back to their
- 2:00:56original tweet a little bit later and I saw they got they
- 2:00:59got community noted and they're like, this is just one
- 2:01:03university which is contradicted by a lot of federal health
- 2:01:09agencies and they're like, this is not true.
- 2:01:11So maybe if you like reading the New York Post, it might be time
- 2:01:16to to switch up. Yeah.
- 2:01:18Right. Well, you know, I just learned a
- 2:01:22combination of things. I learned that that Mercury and
- 2:01:26the caveman, I mean, I think they might be ready, they might
- 2:01:31be ready to go to the next step. What is that next step?
- 2:01:34I don't know. TuneIn next week and you'll find
