- 3:02mythology, archaeological historical stuff about This guy,

- 4:03do get started and, you know, into this discussion, what I'd
- 4:07just like to mention a couple of upcoming events here in the
- 4:10Middle, Tennessee area that I am a associated with they're going
- 4:15to be a part of some in-person events here in.
- 4:22Well actually, let me back up, I'm going to start with it is
- 4:25the weekend of Seager bloat for all of you.
- 4:27That that observe your Heathen re in a more historically
- 4:32accurate fashion. If you're a Reconstructionist at
- 4:34all or lean towards The Reconstruction side of things
- 4:39above, When You observe the holy Tides, we are in right now, the
- 4:47start of the cigarette, boat Victory month or the victory
- 4:52bloat for victory. And my tribe is going to be
- 4:55celebrating our sigur bloat here in just a couple of days.
- 4:59So I'm looking very much forward to spending time with my my
- 5:03extended family, and we're going to be growing out.
- 5:05We're going to be cooking and You know, having a private
- 5:10ritual to celebrate our victories in and so good sticker
- 5:15boats blessed signal bloats, however you want to call it to
- 5:18all of you, fine, folks out here that that do find yourselves.
- 5:22Observing it in this way, and I hope you have good weather and
- 5:24hope you have good fortune. And I hope that you are able to
- 5:28acknowledge and celebrate your victories as well.
- 5:31No matter how big or small they might be.
- 5:36So moving moving past that the the next big thing that I wanted
- 5:41to announces that and all this information, by the way, if it's
- 5:45if it's public, you know, if I'm going to be doing any sort of
- 5:48public appearances, anywhere in the Middle Tennessee area, it's
- 5:52going to be linked in the show notes and description of the of
- 5:55this podcast. So here in a couple of weeks
- 5:59more than a couple actually second week of May, I think it
- 6:02is. It's Let me just look at my
- 6:07calendar here because I'm terrible.
- 6:09Yeah May May 6th May 6 which is a Saturday is here in
- 6:18Murfreesboro myself. My wife, Greg from The Raven,
- 6:25Moon Hearth, Kindred him so Greg and and our tribes go thee.
- 6:32Call them both. He them to our guy though.
- 6:35Them to guys are pairing up to host a public event, at one of
- 6:41the parks I believe is going to be a case in Trailhead here in
- 6:44Murfreesboro, going to set up. You know, one of The Pavilions
- 6:50and it's going to be I believe they're calling it him.
- 6:53What is it? From boots here, Feast of symbol
- 6:57t or something. It's a feast for dedicated to
- 7:00Odin. So we're going to have a lot of
- 7:02discussion around, Odin, not sure all what else I think there
- 7:06might be some, you know, food that that we're going to have at
- 7:13least to some degree. There's there's an offering that
- 7:16we're going to I think plan for to give to Odin, but it's going
- 7:21to be here in Murfreesboro. It's going to be the case in
- 7:23Trailhead so information for that's going to be linked down.
- 7:27In your podcast show notes or description here.
- 7:30So check that out. If you're closer in proximity
- 7:32want to come out and say hi to some local heathens, local
- 7:36pagans talk about Odin. Come on out, say hi and check
- 7:41out those details. The next one after that is going
- 7:44to be actually the following weekend, May 11th 12th and or
- 7:49sorry May 12th 13th and 14th. If I am.
- 7:55Yeah, cash accounting for a correctly.
- 7:57So May May 12 May 12th through 14th.
- 8:06That is going to be the Feast of the fallen.
- 8:08So it's the weekend after the, the Odin thing that I just
- 8:12mentioned that's going to be a raven Moon, Hearth event, my
- 8:15wife, and I will be there as well.
- 8:16We're actually going to be spending the weekend camping.
- 8:19We're going to be doing some vending, my wife's got some
- 8:22really nice handmade or handcrafted items.
- 8:25Items. She's been doing a lot of wood
- 8:26burning here lately. So please, if you're in the area
- 8:31again the event details are going to be linked down there
- 8:33but it's a weekend-long so, Friday Saturday and then they
- 8:37shut everything down around lunchtime on Sunday.
- 8:39But it's a, you know, weekend the long weekend camping event.
- 8:43So you can come and set up a tent on the property there and
- 8:46this is a raven, Moon Hearth hosted event, so there will be
- 8:49games, there will be workshops, there will be vendors, there
- 8:53will be classes there. Will be games.
- 8:56There will be ritual. I've never been to one of the
- 8:59Feast of the Fallen events but this is a yearly recurring thing
- 9:03that they have every year around this time.
- 9:07And I said, as I recall, this is kind of like their ushering in
- 9:12of summer. So, And, and also to commemorate
- 9:18and remember fondly, those loved ones who have, who have passed
- 9:25on that are that have other, you know, fallen in battle or that
- 9:31sort of thing. So, we'll be there for that too.
- 9:33Hope you guys, if you're in the area, you want to come out and
- 9:35check that out. So details for that are in the
- 9:38description and show notes. So now that we've got all of
- 9:40that find stuff out of the way I wanted to.
- 9:46Talk about Thor and sift today because I don't know.
- 9:49I got to thinkin about Us as people now and how you know, we
- 9:57share existence with so many people in so many different
- 10:01ways, you know, whether it's friends, Partners, spouses,
- 10:06roommates. I mean, just all sorts of things
- 10:08and, you know, we share existence with people and I
- 10:12wanted to focus specifically on the relationship or the, or the
- 10:16dynamic of couples, you know, gender and all that aside.
- 10:22Like, I'm not saying it's Your man wife, husband wife,
- 10:25whatever. It's whoever and however, people
- 10:28want to classify or identify, I should say themselves as is, is
- 10:33perfectly fine. But I'm talking specifically
- 10:35about, like the relationship between, you know, two people
- 10:41who love each other. And I wanted to look at the, the
- 10:45ways that that Thor and Sif are are described at least from what
- 10:52we know in the Lord. And stuff and that's therein
- 10:55lies the challenge. Because with Thor, as I
- 10:58mentioned early in the introduction, you know, we've
- 11:01got a lot of stories, a lot of information that is documented
- 11:06about floors mannerisms his characteristics.
- 11:09What he's known for and virtually nothing of the same or
- 11:14similar way that we have of his wife of Sif and, I know I got to
- 11:23thinking you know, the the the way that that married couples
- 11:28way that couples coexist and cohabitate and how it can be
- 11:33beneficial or how to make it beneficial when, you know, you
- 11:36meet somebody for the first time and you get to know them and
- 11:40they get to know you. And next thing, you know,
- 11:42there's this contract that's that's established as it were a
- 11:46social contract or of spending the rest of your life, you know,
- 11:51together. With that person and how to
- 11:58different people. You know, that can be opposites
- 12:04of one, another can still find a peaceful and amicable and even
- 12:09beneficial lifestyle. And I know a lot of us out here,
- 12:14you know, myself included have are either, you know, in
- 12:17committed relationships or have been in relationships in the
- 12:20past that you might consider. You know, long-term marriages
- 12:24domestic Partnerships. What have you that you know, you
- 12:28you enter into them thinking that it's the long-term, you
- 12:31know? I've made mistakes in my past
- 12:35thinking of the of the same thing.
- 12:36And you know, I've noticed that you know, Florence if you know
- 12:41like they we know a lot about Thor, we know his
- 12:44characteristics, we know very little about Sif, but we can
- 12:47probably I think a lot of us maybe would come to some sort of
- 12:53agreement that You know what, what is not preserved about
- 13:00anything to do with? See if you know the, the most
- 13:02that we know from the lore is she is Thor's wife and that her
- 13:09hair is made of gold or his golden.
- 13:14There's, there's references throughout some of the
- 13:18throughout some of the Poems that suggests, her hair is
- 13:24golden right? Or that it's made of Gold's.
- 13:26Matter of fact, the the best-known or the really the one
- 13:30of the only known stories that we have about Sif is when Loki,
- 13:35shaves, her hair off. And in, you know, this enrages
- 13:39for to the point that, you know, Thor demands that Loki makes
- 13:45this right that he that he does something to get her hair back,
- 13:49you know, because this is what she is known for.
- 13:51This is her Her call it her. Characteristic, you know, it's
- 14:00her aesthetic and now that it's gone.
- 14:04It's, you know, this is a problem and what's really
- 14:07interesting if you think about it is that you know, up to the
- 14:12point in the story up to the up to the point of Sif losing her
- 14:15hair, thanks to Loki's you know, mischievous ways or whatever,
- 14:20you know or what have you up until that point, you know, Thor
- 14:24didn't have his hammer, Odin didn't have his spear or his
- 14:29ring, but I'll paneer or going the air of authority and have me
- 14:35only ER, frere didn't have his boar or his ship, you know, the
- 14:41golden bristle Godin, bursty or skis blood near the the ship
- 14:46that is All that is it capable of being folded and fitting into
- 14:51his pocket. You know, none of these magical
- 14:53items are we're procured up until sif's hair was was stolen
- 15:01from her, because when when Thor was was mad about this and
- 15:06demanded that Loki make this right, his solution was, he
- 15:10would go to the dwarves and the dwarves would make a new set of
- 15:15hair made of actual. Gogol in that, you know, that it
- 15:19would never, it would always be gold and or something like that.
- 15:23And then, in addition to sift new golden hair that that was
- 15:27crafted and made by the dwarves, there was gonna near Odin's
- 15:32spear. There was drought near his ring.
- 15:33There was the the things that I mentioned Thor's, hammer
- 15:37mjolnir, right? So what's interesting to say if
- 15:41it is, or what's interesting thing is that if it hadn't been
- 15:44for Sif, You know, this very symbol that that I wear around
- 15:49my neck, you know towards Hammer, the symbol that so many
- 15:53Norse pagans where as a representation of our faith
- 15:59wouldn't have come into existence.
- 16:00Wouldn't be in existence, had it not been for this mishap or the
- 16:04or this thing that happened and if Sif wasn't involved, You
- 16:09know? So we almost do it to Sif to
- 16:12have these things because it had it not been for what happened to
- 16:16her. They wouldn't they wouldn't be
- 16:17here or they wouldn't be in existence.
- 16:23And that that that's what kind of got me thinking about wanting
- 16:29to talk about this is, you know, because Thor is this Brash
- 16:32Brave, strong courageous, you know, fiery figure who is who
- 16:38is? You know, takes no, you know,
- 16:41it's ACT first. Ask questions later when it
- 16:44comes to Thor. He doesn't really have the he's
- 16:46not known for the Wit you know or thinking things through its
- 16:52smash crushed destroy and and and you know, it's better to
- 16:57feel like Thor would be one of those folks who, you know, it's
- 17:01better to ask forgiveness and to ask for permission.
- 17:04You know. It's better to get forgiveness
- 17:06than to ask for permission. It's better to do something now
- 17:08and then say up my bad later on, then to Try to weigh it out and
- 17:14figure it out. And ask is this, okay?
- 17:18So, it's action-driven, you know, and we see this many times
- 17:23throughout the lore and again, widths, if we don't see much of
- 17:26anything, we know about this story, we hear that possibly
- 17:32she's a bit unfaithful to Thor and that's, that's really, you
- 17:35know, we can't really confirm anything like that.
- 17:39At least from the stories, but it's like it's implied, you
- 17:41know, Loki's throwing insults all around in a gears Hall and
- 17:45in the poem lokasenna and And makes a passing comment about
- 17:49Sif and then in Harbor to the oath where harbard and Thor are
- 17:55exchanging insults, one of the of Harvard's insults to Thor is,
- 18:00you know, that he doesn't think that he can keep track of his of
- 18:04his wife because she's probably humping somebody else or
- 18:07whatever his they says. Right.
- 18:07It's all insults that are being cast around and it's pretty
- 18:11reckless, you know? So we don't, we can't really,
- 18:14you know, use that as Anger say yes.
- 18:18She's probably screwing around on Thor while he's out
- 18:20protecting midgard and slaying Giants or Yorkton and doing
- 18:24whatever the other things that Thor does.
- 18:26So I wouldn't really think that a matter of fact I think that
- 18:29it's the complete office opposite and I think that the
- 18:34opposite of Thor is calm compassion.
- 18:39Love nurturing pause, right? Thinking things through being
- 18:43this like the calm Amongst this storm that Thor is he is he is
- 18:50this fiery what you know, just brute energy, brute strength,
- 18:55and full of vigor and too much of that is you know, too
- 19:01chaotic, it's too destructive. It's there needs to be that
- 19:04balance and that's why I was thinking about like when it
- 19:07comes to us and as in modern times or just us as people in
- 19:11general, right? When we look to become
- 19:14companions with someone on a long-term basis and we Of this
- 19:17this bond with these people you know from from my past
- 19:22experiences that the bond that has lasted the longest and that
- 19:26has been the best. For me has been the bond with
- 19:28someone who is not as same as me.
- 19:31That does not contain the same degree of or the same like
- 19:36characteristics. You know, they are Complementary
- 19:40opposites to me, you know? Or they are she is my wife Now.
- 19:45Vanessa, she is my complimentary opposite and that's how I feel
- 19:48with Florence. If it's an example to look
- 19:52towards as it were you know I mean these are our God's, these
- 19:55are sacred. Figures.
- 19:58These are our the Divine that we choose to worship and venerate
- 20:02in our, in our, in our practices, in our faith, right?
- 20:06And to look to them. As examples at times I feel is
- 20:10is the way that our ancient ancestors may have looked at
- 20:15them as well. You know, they they look to them
- 20:18as something greater and better and bigger than they are as far
- 20:22as Humanity, right? They are they are greater than
- 20:25us. I firmly believe it is.
- 20:27It is my personal practice that the gods are greater than us.
- 20:31They aren't we are not peers. We are not equal to them the
- 20:34lure. The mythology.
- 20:36Right contains accounts of times when the gods display, very
- 20:43human characteristics, human-like characteristics.
- 20:45And they do things in the go through things that are
- 20:46relatable to us. And that's again, I feel like
- 20:50part of the religiosity of it all is when these, when these
- 20:53stories started to get documented down.
- 20:58Which as we all know happened during a time when Christianity
- 21:02was spreading. So the bias there, that that is,
- 21:07is based present. We got to keep that into
- 21:09consideration but I'm just saying, right?
- 21:11Like we I'm not the only one, I know.
- 21:15I'm not the only one that when times are rough or when you feel
- 21:20like you need strength, you might find yourself appealing or
- 21:25wanting to appeal to Thor and offer to thaw.
- 21:27Lauren and gift tooth or sacrifice to Thor for the
- 21:30strength, for The Bravery, for the courage, for the tenacity,
- 21:34for that, that just, you know, brute Unapologetic.
- 21:40Force of nature to get through things.
- 21:44But in at the same time think of what the the the the opposite of
- 21:52that would be and what the complementary opposite of that
- 21:56would be, you can't just be all gung-ho all the time.
- 21:59You need that kang-hee need that.
- 22:03You know I can almost imagine any again pure UPG.
- 22:05Right. But you know you get to thinking
- 22:07when you read these stories and yeah kind of come up with stuff
- 22:09on you. Your own to fill in the blanks
- 22:11like you know you imagine right? Sifts they're just mind their
- 22:14own business, probably is asleep, you know.
- 22:17And here comes Loki with a, whether it with scissors, or a
- 22:20knife or whatever, I Cuts, all her hair off, she wakes up like
- 22:24freaks out probably like, oh my God.
- 22:26So right like it's my hair is gone, this is crazy.
- 22:29And in Thor loses, his loses his shit because that's my wife, you
- 22:34bastard? Right.
- 22:35And he comes to her defense and to defend her honor and I can
- 22:39almost picture right at that. That moment that, you know, safe
- 22:42was like Thor baby. The take it down a notch, right?
- 22:48Try to try to settle that storm a little bit.
- 22:50Let him do his thing. Let him be what he needs to be
- 22:52in that moment, but but be that's that, that favorable
- 22:56balance out of it all. And I have I have experienced
- 23:03that myself in my own life. You know, not to get very
- 23:08specific on anything, but I'll just give you guys like an
- 23:11example of things that have been happening recently for me, where
- 23:14I have been very Re much Thor. Like, I have been very direct
- 23:18very bold, very Brash, very Unapologetic in the way that I
- 23:21approach things or have approach things.
- 23:26And my complimentary opposite you know my wife she has been
- 23:33the one to settle that storm. She's been the one we like look
- 23:36you need to not be that way. Stop being you for a minute,
- 23:41stop being the way you are dial it back in and and she's been
- 23:48the one that kind of kind of give me that. much-needed
- 23:51counsel that that calmness, you know that that Let's let's think
- 23:56about things here for a minute, you know, this isn't the time to
- 23:59be Thor. Like this is not the time to be
- 24:02Brash. This is the time to be tactical.
- 24:04This is the time to be thoughtful.
- 24:06This is the time to be wise and have your wits about you, you
- 24:11know, and when we find ourselves in a position where the storm is
- 24:19Raging And that all we want to do is just ride through that
- 24:23storm and let the storm carry us through it and just be Reckless.
- 24:29There's no telling what what damage can can be left in your
- 24:32wake, you know? And so I feel like when it's
- 24:37necessary, the yes, you know, there's there's there's all of
- 24:40that necessary necessity to take action without really taking a
- 24:46consideration of the, of the consequence, you know, it's the
- 24:50risk is You know, the risk is worth taking and in those
- 24:58conditions, but at times, we need that complementary opposite
- 25:03of ourselves. And in this could go for a lot
- 25:04of things, you know, maybe it is roles were reversed, right?
- 25:08Maybe you're the type of person or maybe person is more passive
- 25:13and doesn't have that that necessary raid that necessary
- 25:16fire. And then the complementary
- 25:18opposite of that person is to be the Catalyst to Spark, what
- 25:22needs to be done, or to provide that, that attitude, that
- 25:27behavior those mannerisms was characteristics when it's
- 25:29needed, you know, we can't be all things all the time
- 25:34individuals, right? I mean, and in, I'm talking
- 25:40right now, of course, about, you know, situations or
- 25:44relationships that, that mirror what we're seeing in the
- 25:48mythology, you know, a man and his wife were or A married
- 25:52couple but I think the the spirit of the message is that it
- 25:57doesn't, it's not restricted to just that, right?
- 26:01I think I've had enough experiences myself that I think
- 26:05close friends can be complementary opposites for one
- 26:11another you know you have I have still have, you know, a friend
- 26:15who is very much like me and when the two of us get together
- 26:18when the two of us start talking it's almost like you know watch
- 26:21out because cuz you've got these you know we're both Scorpios
- 26:25were both, double Scorpios are now, we've got very similar
- 26:31characteristics that when we talk to one another we relate to
- 26:35one another Incredibly well because the same things that you
- 26:41know similar things irritate the both of us in the same way and
- 26:45oddly enough. We've had very similar
- 26:49experiences throughout our lives at different points in time but
- 26:52similar enough that we can strongly relate and and you get
- 26:58the two of us on a set on a thing then it's it's literally
- 27:04you know, the Hammers is just So Wigan and there's no stopping
- 27:09it. You know, so you gotta and then
- 27:13I have other friends that have that have been very much this
- 27:16this Cooling and this grounding sort of presence for me, you
- 27:21know, that that have been able to in a similar way.
- 27:25But not only the exact same way as what my wife does for me is
- 27:29to pull me back from that moment of rage or that moment of
- 27:35Reckless, abandon that you month, my find myself in and be
- 27:38that. voice of reason, you know, that, that sort of that
- 27:43friendly, reminder of, you know, this isn't this isn't the isn't
- 27:51the Thunderdome here, you know, it's What's that other one?
- 27:56Right? Two men enter one man leaves and
- 27:58it isn't. It's not like that.
- 28:00This is This is real life and real life.
- 28:04Sometimes requires reasoning logic, logical thinking
- 28:08level-headedness, you know. And that's what I feel with what
- 28:13little we know about Sif from the mythology, or from, for many
- 28:17sources. Again, it's almost like she's
- 28:19been written off or written out of the stories.
- 28:22We've got, you know, not more than just a few references
- 28:29mostly from from snore ease. It's tough, right?
- 28:33I think she's mentioned, of course again, lokasenna.
- 28:36So the poetic Edda A passing mention of her in in Hartsdale
- 28:43will go. So again, another poem from the
- 28:45poetic Edda skulls group of all I believe she's referred to in
- 28:49there or given a mention to in there.
- 28:52So but again, we don't we don't see any like Information.
- 28:58Historically speaking, thats, if was a major or minor deity who
- 29:04was worshipped by, you know, Scandinavians or Germanic people
- 29:10in general least, not yet, we haven't found that yet.
- 29:13There's no, there's no such Information that we have
- 29:18available to us to know that, but it makes you wonder, you
- 29:21know, makes you wonder if if those people who we know, you
- 29:28know, Thor being the Everyman, God, the common man's God, you
- 29:31know, the god of the people sort of thing.
- 29:34You know, the one who is the protector of midgard, and who
- 29:38has places named after him that has archaeological finds of
- 29:43statues, of God, poles of Idols of things.
- 29:46That were created to commemorate him and tend to have a place of
- 29:51worship for him. We know that Thor was venerated,
- 29:55so it's almost like you can't help but ignore the fact that,
- 30:00well, if his if he was venerated and worship, then there's
- 30:03certainly, wouldn't surprise me to think that there were certain
- 30:08maybe Cults of Thor or certain Regional practices that
- 30:13included. His wife.
- 30:16And I've heard of some people who have a focus on Sif in their
- 30:24personal practices and their individual cultic or personal
- 30:27practices that they regard Sif, as a goddess of the Hearth, or
- 30:33are a goddess, who is sort of responsible for the protection
- 30:38of the Hearth and to keep the Hearth and the home safe.
- 30:41Just as far as a protector of the wide world and the protector
- 30:46of midgard while he's out protecting outside Sif is his
- 30:54complementary opposite that protects inside in the protects,
- 30:58the Hearth and the home. And so I've heard of some people
- 31:02that, you know, make offerings to Sif when Peace in the home is
- 31:09needed or peace and prosperity, and love, and care.
- 31:15And protection of the home is being is looking to be invoked,
- 31:18right? So kind of some neat things to
- 31:23think about, you know, I've never as much of a Thor's men as
- 31:26I've been in most of my Heathen ways or my Pagan practices.
- 31:35I've no that's not right wrong or indifferent?
- 31:38I just I've never put too much. Thought up until recently about
- 31:42the significance or the importance or the place of Sif
- 31:45in Thor's, you know, in venerating Thor, and worshipping
- 31:50Thor doing anything with door. It's always kind of like sift
- 31:52gets forgotten Sif gets disregarded and in many of the
- 31:56ways because I hear he's out doing his whole thing and then
- 31:59we'll what about what about the golden-haired wife of Thor?
- 32:03Or who, you know, had it not been for her Thor, wouldn't have
- 32:07the hammer that he uses to protect Mankind and and I've
- 32:09been Force if, you know, the all father, wouldn't have his spear
- 32:14that never misses. Its Mark wouldn't have the ring
- 32:17that I hope nearest frere wouldn't have Golden Buddha stay
- 32:21or gov Scott. It blew their the ship
- 32:27skidbladnir. that one the ship, you know that he sells or we'll
- 32:33be sailing into When he, when he, when he faces certain and
- 32:38sales through Ragnarok and it's, you know, none of those things
- 32:41would exist, had it not been for syph. you know, so I it's funny
- 32:47that we talk about stuff like this, you know, on a thorsday on
- 32:51a on a Thursday and the subject matter is store and I personally
- 32:56am a bit more inclined to not forget about stiff, you know,
- 33:04for whatever reason, her name was minimal and and her mentions
- 33:10are very, very sparse throughout the resources that we have
- 33:15available to us now, for whatever reason that is maybe
- 33:19now is a time to bring back. What little there is and try to.
- 33:29Again, you know, reconstructing things is, it's such a, such an
- 33:33interesting position to find oneself.
- 33:35And, you know, especially when you can't back things up by
- 33:38historical evidence and no, and have a baseline of where to
- 33:41start. So you're really Essentially,
- 33:45starting from scratch, you know, you're taking like little hints
- 33:48or little Clues, little breadcrumbs that you followed
- 33:52here there and then and then kind of just, you know, fishing
- 33:55around in the dark here, you know, trying to make sense of
- 33:57something. And is it worth making sense
- 33:59for? I don't know, maybe not for
- 34:00everybody. But again, this is what we
- 34:03ramble on about. This is what we find ourselves
- 34:06talking about. And, and hopefully, You know,
- 34:10sparking some some healthy discussion and healthy
- 34:14conversation about I personally would love to know more about
- 34:17the role of Sif. I've told a rendition of rimsky
- 34:24du, which is the story of when Thor loses, his hammer, and he
- 34:28has to dress up as Freya to the sky to be disguised as Freya,
- 34:35right? To just to win his hammer back.
- 34:38And knowing this whole thing about, you know, or thinking
- 34:42about this whole thing of Sif having her hair cut off by Loki.
- 34:47And then that being the thing that gets his hammer created.
- 34:51I can I can like, can you imagine like let's just buy put
- 34:55ourselves in the frame of mind for a minute of Lawrence.
- 34:58If you know, Thor is he just got back from battling yotan, you
- 35:07know, and then Midgard. It was, it was a rough.
- 35:09It was like it was on a Friday, you know, he's like, oh my gods,
- 35:13you know, my me, right? He's all wore out from the from
- 35:17the escapades and, you know, safe is in there and she pours
- 35:21him, a fresh Tankard of Ale, you know, because that's what we
- 35:25like to associate or with is revelry and drinking a nail and
- 35:29he's or meat or whatever like he's, let's say, he's got both
- 35:32because serfs that, she's that great wife.
- 35:34She knows, hey, he doesn't want some mail, he wants to meet, so
- 35:37let's get them both. You know, and her hair is all
- 35:41beautiful and golden because at this point he's, you know, her
- 35:46hair has been replaced by the by the gift that Loki.
- 35:52You know, offered or or provided but that's still in the back of
- 35:56her mind, right? She's like that son of a bitch.
- 35:58Anyway you know Thor gets back from his from his fighting of
- 36:02the of the Oten and he's a he drinks all of his ale and drinks
- 36:06all the meat and he's feeling really good and has himself a
- 36:10really good night and he goes to bed and Sif goes to bed with him
- 36:13and he wakes up the next day and where's mjolnir.
- 36:17It's gone. Oh right.
- 36:19And you can imagine like sifting, Oh my God.
- 36:24Yo dude, look what I had to lose for you to even get that thing
- 36:29and now you get drunk and pass out and you can't even remember
- 36:32what you put your hammer. But I can you like the
- 36:36frustration of a wife towards her husband that does dumb
- 36:41stuff. Right.
- 36:42I've been in that position more times than I can count and it's
- 36:45like I can I can see that being an exchange that would happen if
- 36:48he's over here. Like you know my head feels
- 36:51like, you know I've I feel like I've been hit in the head with a
- 36:55hammer and then sift over there, like well it ain't mjolnir.
- 36:57Because where is that? Who knows it.
- 36:58Not you yeah, you know all this stuff then he go.
- 37:03It's fun to get into that. That mentality or getting to
- 37:05that like train of thought and putting things in like a very
- 37:08relatable scenario, right? That stuff's over here.
- 37:14Just going man, I can't believe that I had my head.
- 37:18Shaved and new hair made of gold given to me, just for you to
- 37:23lose the hammer that you got because of all that at the
- 37:26beginning. Like I went through all that
- 37:27just for this, you know, and I'm sure, you know, the wars raging
- 37:32mad, like he's pissed. He's turning House upside down
- 37:35trying to find the thing and sif's over here.
- 37:38Like we're gonna find it. We're going to figure this out.
- 37:41I'm not happy about it either but you need to chill out, bro.
- 37:44Like you need you need a, you need a calm, your tits.
- 37:50I don't know. That's just, that's way.
- 37:52I think of it and and, you know, maybe you think it, think it or
- 37:56think of it a little bit differently than I do.
- 37:57But that's, that's where I went with it.
- 37:59And that's where I've found myself thinking, is that she is
- 38:03the complementary opposite. With or she is everything strong
- 38:06that is needed in a level-headed rationally, thinking logically
- 38:13approaching sort of way. You know she's not like passive
- 38:19in the sense of being weak. She is just what is needed at
- 38:22the home with his needed at the hearth level.
- 38:24What is needed within is we got to keep this together, we got
- 38:29it, we can't lose our cool at this level.
- 38:32We got to keep it together man. You know, and that's what,
- 38:36that's what my complimentary opposite has been for all for
- 38:40our marriage. You know, I'm approaching now
- 38:43here in a few in a few short weeks, you know, I'm going to be
- 38:46approaching. What is it six years of marriage
- 38:52with my wife? You know, we've been together
- 38:54for eight. and, You know, thinking aback and recalling
- 39:03everything that we've gone through and, and sometimes, you
- 39:07know, sometimes the roles get reversed, you know, sometimes
- 39:11she's no more Thor, like one and I gotta be the one that is not
- 39:15Thor. Like, because again, you get
- 39:16those two Powerhouse energies rolling and it's an Unstoppable
- 39:22Force, you know? And so sometimes those roles
- 39:26need to be reversed and that's what I think.
- 39:29That's what a marriage is, that's what any domestic
- 39:31partnership is what that's what any relationship is that you
- 39:35when you coexist with someone to that degree and in that in in
- 39:39that manner, you know you got to be flexible.
- 39:44And yes, you're going to be the certain one in the in in in the
- 39:50relationship where you're going to maintain door or carry a
- 39:52certain Responsibilities and positions in the relationship
- 39:56and so is the other person. But then sometimes sometimes,
- 40:00you know, things get flipped around and sometimes you gotta
- 40:03got to be flexible. but I'm all I wanted to mention it because,
- 40:10you know, complementary opposites I think are the key.
- 40:17You get, you get someone that's just too much like, you or too
- 40:20much like, again, not saying that's not the same for
- 40:23everybody. I'm not saying that, you know,
- 40:25if you are happy with someone and they're exactly like you, or
- 40:28you guys like the same things or you're always talking about the
- 40:31same stuff, you have the same interest, whatever that it's
- 40:34that, it's destined for failure, not saying that at all.
- 40:36I'm just saying that just because you're different,
- 40:40doesn't mean that it's Like your clashing all the time because
- 40:46you know how like when you flip magnets in the Polar Opposites
- 40:49come together there's no there's no or the there too much the
- 40:54like you got the two positives or two negatives right that it's
- 40:57that bouncing they're too similar.
- 41:00You need that opposite. You need that positive.
- 41:01That - you need that. You need that Yang you know my
- 41:06my history and from my experience you know when people
- 41:10are too much alike and you got, Too much in common.
- 41:18Doesn't doesn't play out. Well, that it make me cool for a
- 41:21little while and it may feel like it's alright.
- 41:23But then eventually it just it crumbles.
- 41:27It's weird how that works. So but yeah, there it is.
- 41:33There's there's this week's Discussion.
- 41:37There's this week's ramblings and I mean I'm I'm curious to
- 41:40know what it is about this topic that that that strikes home for,
- 41:44you know do you think that it's the more beneficial to have
- 41:47those opposites that attracted the complimentary opposite
- 41:51scenario? Or do you think that it's
- 41:53doesn't really matter that it's, you know, case-by-case?
