Lucas: Now, imagine you're in a room. Point to objects: 'questo è il tavolo', 'questa è la sedia'. Luna: Questo è il tavolo. Questa è la sedia. Lucas: Try with bed: 'questo è il letto'. Luna: Questo è il letto. Lucas: And wardrobe: 'questo è l'armadio'. Luna: Questo è l'armadio. Lucas: Bookshelf: 'questa è la libreria'. Luna: Questa è la libreria. Lucas: See, you're already describing your room in Italian! Luna: That's cool. So 'il tavolo' is masculine, 'la sedia' feminine. I'm noticing patterns. Lucas: You're right. And 'l'armadio' starts with a vowel so it uses l'. Luna: Right. L'armadio. So what if I want to say 'the red chair'? Lucas: That would be 'la sedia rossa'. The adjective goes after. But we'll save colors for another episode. Luna: Okay. Let me practice: il tavolo, la sedia, il letto, l'armadio, la libreria. Lucas: Excellent. Now let's do a quick scene.
