- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Alright, we got one more day where it's gonna be the a very strong likelihood of some strong storms at some point passing through the area.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Tough to pinpoint exactly, you know, how and when, but you see them at different points.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Speaking of storms, did you see the picture that's been floating of Big Boy and Waverly when the lightning was coming behind it?
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: I knew somebody would get a picture like that because we were we were actually sitting here talking about it yesterday up on the roof of the radio station.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: And we're like, we because you could see the clouds beginning to roll.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: It was ironic that it was within 15 minutes after Big Boy went through that literally the heavens exploded upon this area.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Then again, on 86, as I was heading to Corning yesterday, I was like, oh my god, like people, it came down so hard you could not see a car in front of you.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: It was that heavy of a rain.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Corning, my God, they had swimming pools by the curbs on the street.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Like I was driving on Denison.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: It was, I mean, you literally could have been like, Well, if that pool over in the uh park is not gonna open this year, just swim on the street.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Hey, you let your kids play on the railroad track.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Why don't you let them go take a tip on Denison Park?
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Speaking of dumbasses Yeah, we got this text message that said, uh, this is from 3516, by the way.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: I watched parents encourage their kids to put rocks on the tracks in Wellsburg.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Now, somebody did something yesterday that I you and I talked about, did not get it up, bring it up on the air.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I think it was you and me.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Might have been Wendy and me.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Because Wendy The penny thing?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: The penny.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: No, that wasn't me, but I I know this.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: But keep going, keep going.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: So this is not something that's commonly I mean, I don't even know if anybody knows this anymore, but but the if you're of a certain age, you remember if if you put a penny on the railroad tracks, and again, guys, I'm not encouraging this behavior.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: This was something people did years ago.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Uh that um uh you if when the train rolled over it, it would obviously disform the penny, it would make it look really different.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Then if you found yeah, if you found it afterwards, you had this kind of weird-looking cool keepsake, right?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Uh and uh there was a couple people I that did it in Hornell.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: They did, I think, quarters on the track.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Did it work?
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Because I've always I've always wondered if it actually works.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: I guess that happened.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess it did.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Now back to the lightning picture.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: I I am sharing it right now.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: So go to the Scott and Alley.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna put it first on the Scott and Alley Facebook page just because it was a friend of mine that had shared it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: So I'm sharing it with you guys now.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I'll also get it on the Instagram here in a second.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: But right now you've got two things.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: What a great picture! Isn't it?
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: It actually looks like it's coming out of the smokestack of Big Boy.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: I knew you would love that.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: So yeah, go ahead and hit up the Scott and Alley page to see that.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: By the way, random note anybody else uh expect Big Boy to have been belching more smoke and stuff like it was a pretty I mean it was a pretty eco-friendly old steam engine, the way it passed through.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, you saw it, but it was not like what you see a lot of times where you see massive plumes coming out.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: At least around here it wasn't.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: They were just cruising along.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: I also thought it was gonna be a little louder, but you know, you know there.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Very efficient, uh, well, almost 100-year-old train engine.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: So something else that I saw yesterday, not as cool as big boy, but the Prince car is back.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Oh my God! So this goes back to the pandemic.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Yes, it does.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yes, it does.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: And I'm so glad I'm so glad you remembered this.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: When I drive to work, it usually is around 5.30 in the morning.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And I would hit the miracle mile right around like 5.28 or something like that.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: I believe the person who owns this car works or worked at a Purillator plant.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: So we were going to work around the same time.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Then all of a sudden, stop seeing it.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: It made me so sad.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: And you gotta realize this car is decked out in print.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Like it, it's purple, isn't it?
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, the car isn't purple, but there's print stickers everywhere.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And I think there's even like a sticker that says like my other car is a Raspberry Beret or something or a little red color, but yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: And then it's just a really unique car.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: That is just, yeah, you know, it's gonna stand out.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I saw it the other day.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Did you wave?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: No, because I was behind it, but I had so many questions.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking, are you the owner that I used to see every morning at 5.30?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: New owner?
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Or new owner who dis?
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Um, how do you find because if you're gonna sell your prince car, and you have to, I mean, do you have to put in the in the ad on Facebook Marketplace, you must be a Prince fan or you will not get the keys to this car.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Yes, I think that you do.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: So I was really happy about that.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Keep the uh keep the uh the fun alive.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: If anybody knows anything about the the Prince car, who the person is, is it still the original owner?
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Send us a message.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: So there's two other vehicles now that you mentioned this, that now I have to question.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Totally different reasons.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: There used to be an old, I think it was like a Plymouth Valiant.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: And and if and and this thing I don't even know what that is.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, this thing's ancient.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: My parents Googling this morning.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: My parents had one when I was so little, and it was in the 70s, and this car still drove around the twin tiers.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I love this car.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Now, do you see how it has the wood panel on the side?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, there's okay, there's a couple different variations.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, gotcha.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: These people here in the Elmira area painted an entire tropical scene on this.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Stop it.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, I saw this car everywhere for the longest time.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: So, and um first thing that hits you is how is this car?
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: One looks so good and still is driving around and actually looks like a Hawaiian shirt on wheels.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Well, that's number one.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, go ahead.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Number two.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: But I, you know, and and so you used to see it.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it's still out there, if anybody else has seen it or knows what happened to it.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: But then there is, and I think it's a Ford, and it's a blue Ford, and it actually parks on the street that the radio station's on.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: We have this secret lab a couple of uh buildings over, and it's like this thing's like way in the back.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Like they're making a time machine back there.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I always wonder what they're making back there.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: They're absolutely making a time machine.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: There's like a black hole in Elmira Heights that's waiting to crack open and eat the earth.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, but this lady, I I don't know if it's a lady or a guy.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: There are stickers.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm not talking a few.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: There are stickers bumper to bumper.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, I know who that is.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Her name's Michaela Bacchus.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: She sat in our studio here.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: What is the reason behind the stickers on that?
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Because Well, have you ever met her?
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Yes, you have.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: She sat in the studio.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: She's a very eclectic person.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: I know, but I think to myself, if I'm ever gonna go to a dealership and be like, hey, I'm gonna need to trade it in because I finally hit a lot of miles.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's exactly.
