- 0:00Speaker 1: Big shoes for the last six months, trying to pick
- 0:03Speaker 1: up where Charlene do left off after I think three
- 0:06Speaker 1: decades of.
- 0:08Speaker 2: This thirty five years. Yeah, yeah, yeah, amazing.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Well, it's great to have you here and to find
- 0:13Speaker 1: out what's going on, changes and stuff continuing to happen.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It's such an important program in our community. Reaches so
- 0:20Speaker 1: many lives, and I love the you know, I was
- 0:24Speaker 1: looking at this on the way over. The inspiring, igniting
- 0:27Speaker 1: and powering potential and what a great theme and certainly
- 0:31Speaker 1: something we talk about on the show here almost every week.
- 0:34Speaker 2: That's it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly exactly what we do, just that one
- 0:37Speaker 3: one mentoring, taking those kids and really pulling out their
- 0:39Speaker 3: full potential.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It's great.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it is. It is good.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And I was Kimberly spent some time yesterday with her
- 0:46Speaker 1: a little and and I think our little little.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Sister too, So yeah, it's awesome.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we appreciate him coming and she.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Really enjoys it. It's been getting to know her and
- 0:56Speaker 1: I have other friends that I know are at the
- 0:59Speaker 1: other end of the jour learning because Kimberly is a
- 1:02Speaker 1: little is a little bit. It just started, and you know,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I have a other friend who's taken them and they're
- 1:08Speaker 1: off in college and stuff, and what a journey. Yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 1: these volunteers get to make with these young lives.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So Daniel, he's the program specialist who helps the mentors
- 1:21Speaker 3: kind of go along in the littles and everybody.
- 1:23Speaker 2: We want to provide all the support we can.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Was just talking to Kimberly's little the other day and
- 1:27Speaker 3: just hearing what an impact she's already making.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 1:32Speaker 4: That's great.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And so I know you've always got stuff going on too,
- 1:36Speaker 1: and I know you've got big plans for your big
- 1:39Speaker 1: event so to speak, that's what it's always been called before,
- 1:42Speaker 1: but you've made some changes in that this year.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We did, Yeah, made a lot of changes. The big
- 1:47Speaker 2: event did really good. But just all the new changes.
- 1:50Speaker 3: What a time to kind of maybe reinvent it, just
- 1:52Speaker 3: kind of bring something new. And so yeah, we're going
- 1:54Speaker 3: with the Bartlesville Mystery Gaalo this time. It is a
- 1:57Speaker 3: clue inspired theme events where you don't just come to
- 2:02Speaker 3: the event. You're gonna be able to be a part
- 2:04Speaker 3: of this event. And that's it's gonna be on August sixteenth. Okay,
- 2:07Speaker 3: tickets are on sale now and it's going to be
- 2:09Speaker 3: a good time. We have a new venue, a new caterer,
- 2:14Speaker 3: new themes, so we're really going to try to turn
- 2:15Speaker 3: this thing up to eleven this year.
- 2:17Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's get some people out there. It
- 2:19Speaker 1: sounds like fun. It should be exciting, I think, so.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, we hired six professional actors from Tulsa come
- 2:26Speaker 3: down and they're going to give us one of those
- 2:28Speaker 3: Clues style evenings. So it should be a lot of fun.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Well we'll hear more about that. Yeah, I was out
- 2:36Speaker 4: last week during the show.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and I had to go to Toyota meeting down
- 2:41Speaker 1: in Frisco, Texas with Toyota USA National Headquarters. Is his
- 2:47Speaker 1: first time I had been there since they moved a
- 2:49Speaker 1: few years ago.
- 2:49Speaker 4: It was really a great time.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And yeah, one thing I reading this, the whole theme
- 2:55Speaker 1: of the meeting was pretty much you're inspiring night empowering
- 2:59Speaker 1: potential around Toyota and the Toyota Way. I don't know
- 3:03Speaker 1: if you've heard about that, but it's a thing that
- 3:06Speaker 1: that has been you know, studied in business schools for
- 3:08Speaker 1: years and it really, uh, it was a great event.
- 3:12Speaker 1: We got to see it, you know, it wasn't really
- 3:14Speaker 1: product oring. It was more people oriented. And that's a
- 3:17Speaker 1: big part of what Toyota does. And you know, certainly
- 3:19Speaker 1: a dunge just Toyota. That's a big thing for us
- 3:22Speaker 1: is it is about our people in the community and
- 3:25Speaker 1: being a small, family, community based dealership.
- 3:30Speaker 4: That's really our you know, what our passion is.
- 3:33Speaker 1: And yeah, I know we try to you know, build
- 3:37Speaker 1: that you know, great relationship with our customers for lifetime
- 3:40Speaker 1: and the really serve them.
- 3:42Speaker 4: And the community.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Yes, and we certainly missed you last week.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Well, we got stuck with Jason, Jason, and we're glad
- 3:49Speaker 1: to have William back.
- 3:50Speaker 4: He's he was a little surprised when Jason asked him to.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Go and forget about that.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You feel like he was prepared.
- 3:59Speaker 5: He did great, He did great. Jason on the other end,
- 4:03Speaker 5: I'm kiddy.
- 4:05Speaker 4: He's been there in marketing for too long. I think
- 4:08Speaker 4: hopefully he's listening.
- 4:09Speaker 6: To I hope, so, Jason, we're kidding to you, by
- 4:11Speaker 6: the way.
- 4:13Speaker 4: So yeah, lots of stuff going on though.
- 4:16Speaker 1: We've got today it's Juneteenth, and this weekend out of
- 4:20Speaker 1: our friends at the West Side Community Center will be
- 4:22Speaker 1: celebrating Saturday with a great event, and we had Chavon
- 4:25Speaker 1: on a few weeks ago to talk about that. But
- 4:27Speaker 1: five oh one South Bucy west Side Community Center three
- 4:31Speaker 1: to eight pm Saturday night, go out there and learn
- 4:34Speaker 1: more about what's happening out at Westside.
- 4:36Speaker 4: There's so many great new things happening out there.
- 4:39Speaker 1: With Chavon, you're bringing it back to life and it's
- 4:42Speaker 1: really a great, great story there.
- 4:44Speaker 4: And uh, you know, we've got just the n I
- 4:47Speaker 4: k W.
- 4:47Speaker 5: N Night at the ballpark that's next week, next week,
- 4:50Speaker 5: next week.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It was coming up, but we've got but the team
- 4:54Speaker 1: is coming back into town and and we'll be having
- 4:57Speaker 1: some home games right and where they been struggling a
- 5:01Speaker 1: little bit. The weather is crazy and they're playing some
- 5:03Speaker 1: awfully tough teams that.
- 5:05Speaker 5: That d BAT League.
- 5:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's it's tough when you're playing those college levels.
- 5:09Speaker 6: Evan far back with saying last night, you know, they
- 5:12Speaker 6: played a team that had NCAA Division two players, But
- 5:16Speaker 6: I tell you that the Indians did did well against
- 5:19Speaker 6: the level talent.
- 5:20Speaker 1: They're playing well despite some tough losses and it's great
- 5:25Speaker 1: to see the their.
- 5:27Speaker 6: Strength and results they're playing in Indye today in India.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, so they're going to go.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Up to Independence and play there this evening and then
- 5:35Speaker 6: they'll be back at home with Indy again for o
- 5:37Speaker 6: K one night at the ballpark.
- 5:39Speaker 5: That's gonna be a great event.
- 5:40Speaker 4: No, well, and so it's next Thursday.
- 5:42Speaker 5: I think that's correct.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Thursday. Yeah, pretty sure. That's good. We need to
- 5:46Speaker 4: hit some home runs that night.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Absolutely free admission.
- 5:50Speaker 6: You know, we'll take care of your admission and get
- 5:52Speaker 6: the hot dogs and of course your chance to.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Win fourteen hundred dollars worth of money as well. I'm
- 5:59Speaker 5: telling you, it's a great time.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Have you ever been to one of those games?
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's awesome. It just to daily out. Yeah, the field
- 6:06Speaker 2: is beautiful, it's awesome.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's it's great. We're really proud of that sponsorship.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And you know, that was something a few years ago.
- 6:14Speaker 1: One of the employees went to great effort to get
- 6:17Speaker 1: the Guinness Book of Records to look at this sponsorship
- 6:20Speaker 1: and they said it was the longest corporate sponsor of
- 6:23Speaker 1: a sports team in the world.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Right here, it's nineteen forty one.
- 6:29Speaker 1: My grand One of the first things my grandfather did
- 6:32Speaker 1: when he got to town was sponsor a baseball team
- 6:35Speaker 1: because he had been as a young man, he had
- 6:38Speaker 1: been on a basketball team sponsored by a four dealership
- 6:42Speaker 1: in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and ended up he and his brother
- 6:46Speaker 1: played on that team and ended up owning the dealership
- 6:48Speaker 1: a few years later. And then he moved the family
- 6:51Speaker 1: here in nineteen forty one, and I went for dealership
- 6:55Speaker 1: and wanted to, you know, help really, I mean, it
- 6:59Speaker 1: was an is this inspiring, uniting, empowering, potential thing for
- 7:03Speaker 1: in his life around that team and what it and
- 7:06Speaker 1: the Forder sponsorship and then the opportunities getting into the
- 7:10Speaker 1: car business and and then moving to Bartlesville. You know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: so it's a that's awesome for my family And yeah, yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: no it is. It's great and so and it's one
- 7:20Speaker 1: of those things that you know, is is really a
- 7:23Speaker 1: common theme on the show is that is how do
- 7:25Speaker 1: we are the great resilience of Bartlesville and how we
- 7:28Speaker 1: have so many of these great organizations like yours that
- 7:32Speaker 1: that provide the network that lifts everybody up and inspires
- 7:36Speaker 1: the potential and.
- 7:37Speaker 3: The sponsors like like Dungeons. So yeah, we appreciate it.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Can't do without you guys.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So you know, we talked about the event a little bit,
- 7:43Speaker 1: but there's stuff going on all the time, tell us
- 7:45Speaker 1: you know, and I know you're it's kind of in
- 7:48Speaker 1: the summer now, and so what's happening.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Yeah, there's big sisters and what's the big stuff going on?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Really picked up a ton, So we went to SunFest.
- 7:56Speaker 3: We had a booth there.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Really fantastic turnout.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Right now though we have four girls waiting on a
- 8:02Speaker 3: big to come in and we have sixteen boys waiting,
- 8:05Speaker 3: so they still.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Really need yeah men or somebody that wants to work
- 8:09Speaker 1: with a boy.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, exactly, So lots of activity.
- 8:12Speaker 3: That SunFest really kind of spurred everything, kicked it up.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So a lot of back to school nights coming up,
- 8:18Speaker 3: so excited about that and just yeah, a lot of growth.
- 8:21Speaker 2: We've had a ton of growth in the last three months.
- 8:23Speaker 3: But with the growth, just the more awareness we have,
- 8:25Speaker 3: more littles coming in, we have more volunteers.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Well, it's always evolving and ye there it seems like
- 8:30Speaker 1: there's always the need for more volunteers to be the.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Bigs there is, yep, and especially those guys.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Yeah, talk about.
- 8:37Speaker 1: The process and what and you know how first you
- 8:40Speaker 1: know what it is to be a big and and
- 8:42Speaker 1: what you know, how you become one.
- 8:44Speaker 3: First thing, best way to start is just going to
- 8:46Speaker 3: big Oklahoma dot org and you fill out an application.
- 8:49Speaker 3: We take those applications from the littles and from the
- 8:51Speaker 3: bigs and say, who's going to make a good match?
- 8:53Speaker 4: So really trying to match them up personally really.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and so yeah, we look at what are their likes,
- 8:59Speaker 3: what are their dislikes. We're not just going to give
- 9:01Speaker 3: a kid to somebody and say here, just go have
- 9:03Speaker 3: fun with them. We're gonna make sure this is a
- 9:05Speaker 3: good match. What we want is just long term success
- 9:08Speaker 3: commitment and so but when we know that takes a
- 9:11Speaker 3: good match from the very beginning. So there's a big
- 9:14Speaker 3: application process. We let you meet, everybody decides you I
- 9:17Speaker 3: think this would be a good match. And then what
- 9:19Speaker 3: we ask is about an hour a week, about an
- 9:22Speaker 3: hour every other week to go meet and just hang out. Yeah,
- 9:25Speaker 3: for the last six months, I've really pushed hard on
- 9:28Speaker 3: creating partnerships to make it easier to be a big.
- 9:31Speaker 3: So for instance, Remy's down here, it's they give free
- 9:35Speaker 3: wristbands for the arcades for littles. The Bowling Alley also
- 9:39Speaker 3: littles can bowl for free, you can go to the zoo,
- 9:43Speaker 3: the aquarium, we have tickets for that climb Tulsa, and
- 9:45Speaker 3: there's a lot of other just places here in Bartlesville
- 9:48Speaker 3: that have said, yeah, we'll partner with you. So we've
- 9:50Speaker 3: been making it a lot easier.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So you don't have to worry about like the serious stuff.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You really just are gonna have fun and experience things
- 9:59Speaker 1: with your And that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Was one of the big things I heard was I'm
- 10:03Speaker 3: just not sure if I'm going to know what to do. Great,
- 10:05Speaker 3: We're gonna make that easy for you. Here's a whole
- 10:07Speaker 3: bunch of things to do. And so really all you
- 10:09Speaker 3: have to do is just really show up, have.
- 10:11Speaker 2: A good time.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I guarantee, like the big will be impacted, the little
- 10:15Speaker 3: will be impacted.
- 10:16Speaker 2: We're going to impact everybody's lives with this.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys, A little bit of caring, help us,
- 10:21Speaker 1: a little bit of compassion problems, right is the key?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Well that's awesome and so many great things going
- 10:29Speaker 1: on there. And I know, so how do once they
- 10:32Speaker 1: go and apply, then is there what else happens?
- 10:36Speaker 4: I mean, it just starts and the and they're.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Come in, come in, they'll apply they'll come into the
- 10:42Speaker 3: office and meet with with Daniel. He's of the program specialist,
- 10:45Speaker 3: kind of walks through everything. Then Daniel also he'll he'll
- 10:48Speaker 3: make meetings once a month on a phone call and.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Just say stay in touch with them through time.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Stay in touch with everybody. How's it going? Are you
- 10:55Speaker 3: coming up with anything? Because we have so many resources
- 10:58Speaker 3: on the back end. If one little says, oh, bring
- 11:01Speaker 3: up a question, how long sure? How to answer that,
- 11:03Speaker 3: we probably have a resource to help with that to
- 11:05Speaker 3: make it easy for you to be that big brother
- 11:07Speaker 3: or that big sister. And then yeah, monthly check ins
- 11:11Speaker 3: with us, hang out with that little couple times a month,
- 11:13Speaker 3: a couple hours of you know a month is all
- 11:15Speaker 3: we really look for and have a good time.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah and so And on the little side, where do where?
- 11:21Speaker 1: How do you find them? What does what's the pathway.
- 11:24Speaker 2: To become the same way?
- 11:25Speaker 3: Well, when you come to the website big Oklahoma dot org,
- 11:28Speaker 3: they'll be I'm applying to be a big or I'm
- 11:30Speaker 3: applying to be a little in kind of that exact
- 11:33Speaker 3: same process.
- 11:34Speaker 2: We ask about the same questions.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Like I said, we're going to make sure we match up,
- 11:38Speaker 3: you know, good matches awesome.
- 11:40Speaker 4: And how many pairs are there in Bartlesville? How many? Yeah?
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, right now we are serving sixty eight kids in
- 11:47Speaker 3: the community.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, that's great. And you've got another twenty or
- 11:50Speaker 1: so waiting.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Twenty five waiting.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's that's incredible.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Well, if you folks are interested in that, reach out
- 11:57Speaker 1: to the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Ask questions.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So go to the website and find out and Todd
- 12:04Speaker 1: and the team are great and you know, so just
- 12:07Speaker 1: give him a shout. I know he'd answer any of
- 12:09Speaker 1: your questions. And it is such an impactful organization our community.
- 12:14Speaker 1: So I did want to talk about a few other
- 12:16Speaker 1: things going on with the dealership. We've got a new
- 12:19Speaker 1: allocation this week that it will become visible later today
- 12:22Speaker 1: or tomorrow. With our last month, we were the fastest
- 12:25Speaker 1: turning Toyota dealership in the state of Oklahoma. And we
- 12:29Speaker 1: actually were over one hundred and ten percent of our objective.
- 12:32Speaker 1: And I know it, it's hard to believe sometimes when
- 12:34Speaker 1: you drive by and they're not any cars on the load. Yeah,
- 12:37Speaker 1: where we pull them all in right the other night.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I think we've done that ten times now this year.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Where we brought we brought them all inside and then
- 12:46Speaker 1: put them back out the next day, and.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Sometimes I have to bring them right back in it. Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 4: we've been lucky, fingers crossed. We haven't had any damage
- 12:53Speaker 4: this year, and that's good.
- 12:54Speaker 1: We've got a nice selection of great cars and just
- 12:58Speaker 1: this allocation, we got i think six more four by
- 13:01Speaker 1: four tacomas, four more rat fours, so well, they're not
- 13:05Speaker 1: sitting there on the lot always, they're always in the
- 13:07Speaker 1: pipeline and coming.
- 13:08Speaker 4: So if you're looking for Toyota of any type, let
- 13:12Speaker 4: us know.
- 13:12Speaker 1: We've got allocation can really get just about anything. You know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: some just take a little longer market. But the allocation
- 13:21Speaker 1: system at Toyota rolls out twice a month, so we
- 13:25Speaker 1: get new fresh units every couple of weeks and that's great.
- 13:29Speaker 1: So it really they they it's such a fast environment
- 13:34Speaker 1: right now with sales, it's hard to imagine that it
- 13:39Speaker 1: could get much faster. But they keep saying that it's
- 13:41Speaker 1: that it's going to be like this for the rest
- 13:43Speaker 1: of the year. And yeah, I think a lot of
- 13:46Speaker 1: folks are making those big purchases right now. Some of
- 13:50Speaker 1: them are happening now. But you know, I'm telling with Toyota.
- 13:53Speaker 1: It just seems like it's going to keep going. Yeah,
- 13:55Speaker 1: the tariff stuff is still kind of looming out there,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but Toyota isage on that.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I mean, one of the executives.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Was there briefly talking to us last week, and you know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: they they can't predict what's going to happen, and.
- 14:08Speaker 4: There's going to go ahead and do what they plan
- 14:10Speaker 4: to do.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And that's how Toyota operates, is we have a plan,
- 14:14Speaker 1: We're going to go to market and do what we do,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and and you keep building all the cars and shipping them,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and you know they will adjust, you know, as things
- 14:23Speaker 1: settle out and to keep prices competitive. And and you know,
- 14:28Speaker 1: Toyota's got such a great value story anyway, with the
- 14:31Speaker 1: quality of the vehicles.
- 14:32Speaker 4: And the residual values.
- 14:34Speaker 1: How much in other words, how they maintain their value
- 14:38Speaker 1: over time?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Oh sure, sure, it really is.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You know, in any economy, in any environment, it's going
- 14:43Speaker 1: to be a you know, relative to other depreciating assets
- 14:47Speaker 1: like an automobile, going to be a good investment.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 6: And well, it's just it's just that quality that that
- 14:53Speaker 6: Toyota has.
- 14:54Speaker 5: I mean, that reputation related to Toyota. I mean that
- 14:58Speaker 5: that's where that's where that reason. And it doesn't mean
- 15:01Speaker 5: they're perfect now, no question.
- 15:02Speaker 1: It's amazing to me. It's how they respond when they
- 15:05Speaker 1: do have an issue. And yeah, the the you know,
- 15:08Speaker 1: I've got a there's a used Tundra on the lot
- 15:10Speaker 1: now that we just put a brand new engine in
- 15:13Speaker 1: that had a recall and the entire engine assembly was replaced.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I mean it was wow, it was you know, under
- 15:19Speaker 4: under a recall.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Probably at a customer pay if you had to replace
- 15:24Speaker 1: that engine, it would have been twenty twenty five thousand
- 15:28Speaker 1: dollars probably an Toyota's just doing that to make sure.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I mean on one hundred and fifty thousand miles truck
- 15:36Speaker 1: that you know, a lot of brands, would that.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Be the end of life? Exactly right? And for Toyota,
- 15:43Speaker 4: it's like, well, it's only like you know.
- 15:47Speaker 6: Affix it good, good quality items always coming from a Toyota.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's awesome, great team to partner with, and that's why
- 15:58Speaker 1: there aren't many on the lot. I think great lease
- 16:01Speaker 1: deals too. We've got some great interest rate deals on
- 16:04Speaker 1: Tundra right now. So uh, talk to our team. You know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: our team too is uh you know, we're really proud
- 16:10Speaker 1: of our team that I know that they uh, you
- 16:14Speaker 1: know that the time I spent with Toyota last week,
- 16:16Speaker 1: it was really encouraging to see I was with a
- 16:20Speaker 1: bunch of other dealers from all over the country and
- 16:23Speaker 1: not dealers really more of them more managers and kind
- 16:26Speaker 1: of mid level people who work in dealerships, And you know,
- 16:29Speaker 1: I was just really proud of the Dungeons stuff and
- 16:33Speaker 1: ours matched up with what Toyota was talking about and
- 16:37Speaker 1: where they're going, uh, and the importance of of the
- 16:41Speaker 1: you know, what we do at retail and the importance
- 16:44Speaker 1: of their dealer network.
- 16:45Speaker 4: You know, we are the.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Representatives of Toyota in the community and they partner with us.
- 16:51Speaker 1: So we we've you know, Toyota's partners with us on
- 16:54Speaker 1: the baseball team absolutely a matching donation of our traditional
- 16:58Speaker 1: sponsorship of the team.
- 17:00Speaker 4: They're not going to match it, and you know they did.
- 17:03Speaker 1: They've done that with all kinds of other organizations. Are
- 17:07Speaker 1: when we do our anniversary event and we have people
- 17:10Speaker 1: pick a you know, a charity to support which they
- 17:13Speaker 1: have picked the Big Brothers, Big Sisters, many times the
- 17:16Speaker 1: winner of that gets matched by Toyota, and you know
- 17:19Speaker 1: they they're very generous. And I really believe that. You know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: that's the key is that you know, and we'd believe
- 17:25Speaker 1: it too. They've done just that. You know, that trust
- 17:28Speaker 1: you have in us is the most important, important most
- 17:32Speaker 1: we we were real proud to you know, we don't
- 17:34Speaker 1: pay our team commissions.
- 17:36Speaker 4: We don't.
- 17:37Speaker 1: We try to keep them focused on what the customer
- 17:39Speaker 1: needs and uh, you know, just keep you know, taking
- 17:42Speaker 1: care of people and and you know, I think that
- 17:45Speaker 1: builds good trust and good processes in the dealership. You know,
- 17:49Speaker 1: brit getting William back after his he went to Tulsa
- 17:52Speaker 1: and worked down there, got some experience. Uh, and uh,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you know it became you know, but we really missed him.
- 17:59Speaker 4: To be honest, I'm sure you did. He's great, not
- 18:02Speaker 4: just as a dad, I must say, as a boss.
- 18:05Speaker 1: He's you know, having that those young people that are
- 18:09Speaker 1: inspired and have all that potential are really important in
- 18:12Speaker 1: the business. And and you know that's surely important for
- 18:17Speaker 1: us as a fourth generation. Yeah, it kind of enters
- 18:20Speaker 1: our business now in our like ninety six years selling cars.
- 18:24Speaker 6: It's it's well, you know, going back to your first
- 18:26Speaker 6: generation with your grandfather and we moved here in nineteen
- 18:29Speaker 6: forty one.
- 18:30Speaker 5: My grandmother was your father's nanny.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Did you know that that the house was on a Delaware?
- 18:41Speaker 5: The house was on the Delaware. My grandmother was your
- 18:45Speaker 5: father's nanny.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I hear you know, I heard rotary a few weeks ago.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I talked to I was doing the rounds where we
- 18:54Speaker 1: do our little social mid couple of minutes and the
- 18:59Speaker 1: wife of one of the guys as I see all
- 19:00Speaker 1: the time, said hey, do you know his mother or no? Yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 1: his mother took care of your great grandma.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Wow, it is the community, right, that really is the community.
- 19:15Speaker 6: And you know that that drew down even to your
- 19:17Speaker 6: your car sales business because my grandparents didn't go anywhere
- 19:21Speaker 6: other than dungeons.
- 19:23Speaker 5: And you know that's that is what my grandpa.
- 19:28Speaker 6: Yeah, my grandpa went from a from an old beat
- 19:30Speaker 6: up four pickup truck and he was this is early
- 19:33Speaker 6: eighties okay, and he was actually Toyota wasn't that well
- 19:39Speaker 6: of the known brand, and it started the Towyter dealership
- 19:42Speaker 6: y eighty sixty sixty eight, okay, the really oldest Toyota.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 19:46Speaker 6: So he was was like, I'm not driving Toyo, Yeah,
- 19:51Speaker 6: just a while he got he got himself a little
- 19:53Speaker 6: Toyota pickup truck.
- 19:54Speaker 5: And that thing is a literally I think it's I can't.
- 19:57Speaker 4: I think it's an eighty four that.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Is still in operation out at my sister and my
- 20:04Speaker 6: brother in laws place. Incredible, No there, they are great.
- 20:08Speaker 6: You know, it took it took me time to get to.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Upper fords and yeah, for sure, and but no, they're
- 20:17Speaker 1: they're outstanding vehicles and that is what they're known for.
- 20:21Speaker 1: That's why Takoma is and which is the small pickup truck.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Now they did that.
- 20:27Speaker 1: There's been a lot of rumors about it even smaller
- 20:29Speaker 1: pickup truck.
- 20:30Speaker 4: And they teased that again last week when we were
- 20:32Speaker 4: at the meeting. Uh they you know, they didn't really
- 20:35Speaker 4: talk much about product.
- 20:36Speaker 1: They did have the brand new RAV four there which
- 20:38Speaker 1: will be come out later this year. And there's a
- 20:42Speaker 1: kind of a museum, a Toyota Experience Center that that
- 20:46Speaker 1: takes you through the entire history of Toyota. And I
- 20:49Speaker 1: think it's open to the public. Sum but you had
- 20:53Speaker 1: to go with the Toyota somebody who worked the representative
- 20:57Speaker 1: and but it's so cool because it goes through the
- 21:00Speaker 1: very from the very beginning.
- 21:02Speaker 4: You know, Toyone didn't even make didn't start making cars.
- 21:05Speaker 4: They made they had an automated.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Loom that they invented and was the how they started, uh,
- 21:13Speaker 1: you know, their manufacturing company, and and eventually moved on
- 21:16Speaker 1: to human transportation and mobility.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I mean, and you know, the Toyota.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Way is uh, you know, it's really built around people
- 21:25Speaker 1: and you know that's their their whole thing is uh,
- 21:29Speaker 1: the Toyota Way is a kaisen, which is a continuous improvement.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Gimbo GIMBSI or.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I think, but he means go see and tell, So
- 21:40Speaker 1: you go inspect what you out in there, you know.
- 21:43Speaker 4: So that's what you guys are doing. When you talk
- 21:45Speaker 4: to the bigs in the littles every month, you're you're
- 21:48Speaker 4: helping them move forward.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And then there's respect for people and inclusivity, hearing all
- 21:55Speaker 1: the voices you know, to them, it really means understanding
- 21:59Speaker 1: everyone's perspective. Give and so you can make a really
- 22:01Speaker 1: great decision and keep improving, going back to the beginning,
- 22:03Speaker 1: keep improving, doing the guys and stuff and.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Then go see again.
- 22:06Speaker 1: And you know it's and that's just so similar to
- 22:10Speaker 1: the sparks and stuff we have.
- 22:12Speaker 4: At the dealership.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yes, it was just inspiring and it's so inspiring and
- 22:17Speaker 1: similar to what you guys do.
- 22:19Speaker 4: So that's kind of I guess the theme of.
- 22:21Speaker 2: All this, I guess it is. Yeah, that's awesome and.
- 22:24Speaker 5: Those connections that we make along the way, right, that's right.
- 22:26Speaker 1: The community, Yeah, especially in Bartlesville and all the great
- 22:30Speaker 1: stuff going on. So and to you guys out there
- 22:33Speaker 1: and listening to us, we sure appreciate you. And and
- 22:36Speaker 1: I hear from people all the time that they do
- 22:38Speaker 1: listen to this show, and I'm very.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Proud of that.
- 22:42Speaker 1: You glad to have loyal listeners. Absolutely, So Todd, let's
- 22:46Speaker 1: go through again about the event, because we really do
- 22:50Speaker 1: want to promote that and make it one of the

- 22:54Speaker 4: So tell us that you know that was a play
- 22:57Speaker 4: on words.

- 23:09Speaker 3: some cool things you want to put in that auction,
- 23:11Speaker 3: that's always a fun way to also support us. But yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 3: we'd love to just have the community come out co
- 23:17Speaker 3: experience this new event that we're doing.
- 23:20Speaker 2: We're pulling out all the stops.
- 23:22Speaker 4: You mentioned new venue.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Whereas the new venue, yeah, the Johnstone Sayer, it'll be
- 23:25Speaker 2: on the on the top floor. With that, I feel
- 23:28Speaker 2: like they have the mystery vibe kind of going on. Yeah. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 2: So I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 23:32Speaker 4: It's a very old building. It's very old, so there
- 23:35Speaker 4: might be some ghosts around there.
- 23:37Speaker 3: There might be yeah, yeah, so yeah, the theme is
- 23:40Speaker 3: the case of the Missing Painting, so you're going to
- 23:42Speaker 3: have to come out and check that out and see.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, how's it, solf I.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Don't even know, I've they they haven't given me any clues.

- 24:17Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Well, it should be a big night and hopefully we
- 24:20Speaker 1: can get everybody excited to get out there and support Bartlesvaria,
- 24:25Speaker 1: big brothers, big sisters, and you know, hopefully you have

- 27:21Speaker 1: to the lenders. And it's all going to come together
- 27:24Speaker 1: in one package. Really excited about that. It's going to
