- 1:40SPEAKER_19: Well, I mean, it's good to have friendly faces.
- 1:42SPEAKER_19: It is.
- 1:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.

- 1:58SPEAKER_19: Scour.
- 1:59SPEAKER_19: We're done with books.
- 2:00SPEAKER_19: Um but we'll we'll scouring's a fun word to say.
- 2:03SPEAKER_19: It is, isn't it?

- 2:05SPEAKER_21: Feel like a pirate.
- 2:06SPEAKER_21: Scouring.
- 2:08SPEAKER_19: Um but we do have a lot of music to listen to.
- 2:10SPEAKER_19: And yes, we did skip last week.
- 2:13SPEAKER_19: We did skip Smasher Trash because we dumb.
- 2:16SPEAKER_19: Oh no, here's here's why I think we did skip it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_19: Because we dumb.
- 2:19SPEAKER_19: Well, that I just said so.
- 2:21SPEAKER_19: That too.
- 2:22SPEAKER_19: But uh the Wall of Tunes is in the other room.
- 2:25SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_21: It was like it was like, oh, we're we're done with stuff.
- 2:29SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_21: I don't see anything else.
- 2:31SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 2:32SPEAKER_19: We don't need to pick a new one.
- 2:34SPEAKER_19: Out of sight, out of mind.
- 2:35SPEAKER_19: Exactly.
- 2:36SPEAKER_19: So I would have, I would have not that I wouldn't have, but I would have had to get up and go in the other room and grab a new one.
- 2:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 2:42SPEAKER_19: Uh luckily I remembered that and I grabbed a new one before I came in.
- 2:45SPEAKER_19: Oh, okay, good.
- 2:46SPEAKER_19: So we have one.
- 2:47SPEAKER_19: So we already have one.
- 2:48SPEAKER_19: Yes, I don't know.
- 2:48SPEAKER_21: So we don't we don't have to go anywhere.
- 2:50SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 2:50SPEAKER_19: As long as we don't forget.
- 2:52SPEAKER_21: Well, that's that's like I said, we should get a scoreboard.
- 2:56SPEAKER_19: We did like a like a whiteboard, like you said.
- 2:59SPEAKER_19: Put it right on that fridge for a few.
- 3:00SPEAKER_19: Well, I mean the fridge the fridge is white.
- 3:02SPEAKER_19: We can't can we write on it?
- 3:04SPEAKER_19: I don't think so.
- 3:04SPEAKER_19: We even with erasable markers.
- 3:06SPEAKER_19: I don't think I don't know.
- 3:07SPEAKER_19: It's a good question.
- 3:08SPEAKER_19: That would be funny if we could.
- 3:10SPEAKER_21: You could leave me a big book.
- 3:11SPEAKER_21: Do you remember you remember your fridge in the apartment?
- 3:13SPEAKER_21: Yes, I do.
- 3:14SPEAKER_21: We used to we used to write on that.
- 3:16SPEAKER_21: Yes, we did.
- 3:18SPEAKER_21: Didn't you have those uh those magnet letters or something?
- 3:22SPEAKER_21: Yes.
- 3:23SPEAKER_21: And we used to just like leave messages on stuff and all that?
- 3:26SPEAKER_21: Yes.
- 3:26SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_19: I think we call each other names.
- 3:29SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 3:29SPEAKER_19: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 3:29SPEAKER_19: I think we didn't we come up with some song titles on that.
- 3:32SPEAKER_19: We may have.
- 3:33SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 3:33SPEAKER_19: It's uh no it's hard telling.
- 3:34SPEAKER_19: What we it was it was That was the place to be.
- 3:38SPEAKER_19: The apartment?
- 3:39SPEAKER_21: Oh yeah, that was the hangout.
- 3:40SPEAKER_19: That was the hangout.
- 3:41SPEAKER_19: My wife hated it because it stunk because of my cats, and and just I didn't take care of anything.
- 3:47SPEAKER_19: I was a bachelor, you know.
- 3:48SPEAKER_21: Yeah, it was I mean it was awesome.
- 3:49SPEAKER_19: Yeah, it was awesome.
- 3:50SPEAKER_19: We loved it.
- 3:51SPEAKER_19: It was awesome.
- 3:51SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 3:52SPEAKER_19: I had movie posters all over the walls, yeah.
- 3:55SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah, no, it was great.
- 3:57SPEAKER_19: Um, but anyway, I digress.
- 4:00SPEAKER_19: Uh we got lots of music to listen to today.
- 4:02SPEAKER_19: So before we do that, I wanna I wanna I know I told you I wanted to tackle this because um Metallica.
- 4:11SPEAKER_19: James Hetfield from Metallica, um, at one of the severe severe severe, one of the severe performances in Las Vegas said something um that I think is awesome.
- 4:26SPEAKER_19: Uh a lot of people didn't like.
- 4:28SPEAKER_19: Uh one in particular I'm gonna tell you about it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_19: I think you probably already read about it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_19: Probably.
- 4:32SPEAKER_19: But uh he basically said, well, I can tell you what he said.
- 4:36SPEAKER_19: Um because he said Metallica, he said this in the mic to the crowd.
- 4:44SPEAKER_19: Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bull crap.
- 4:51SPEAKER_19: Insert this wear word.
- 4:52SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 4:52SPEAKER_19: Okay?
- 4:53SPEAKER_19: He says, We're here to forget about all the outside bullcrap.
- 4:58SPEAKER_19: Metallica's agenda is love, energy, and heavy music, baby.
- 5:02SPEAKER_19: And then he proceeded to play a song.
- 5:04SPEAKER_21: There we go.
- 5:06SPEAKER_21: That's what we want.
- 5:08SPEAKER_21: I don't I don't give a crap about your politics.
- 5:11SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 5:11SPEAKER_21: I want to hear music.
- 5:12SPEAKER_21: I don't want to hear you talk on the mic.
- 5:14SPEAKER_19: Everybody uh every comment that I've read that's against what he said.
- 5:20SPEAKER_19: Oh, the typical Republican, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_19: We don't know that he's a Republican.
- 5:24SPEAKER_19: Nobody knows what he is.
- 5:25SPEAKER_19: Nobody knows what he is, and that's how that's how it should be.
- 5:27SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 5:28SPEAKER_21: You know?
- 5:28SPEAKER_21: But he was saying the same thing back in the 90s.
- 5:30SPEAKER_21: Of course he was.
- 5:31SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 5:31SPEAKER_21: I mean, he's been saying this thing all over.
- 5:33SPEAKER_21: I mean, have you ever heard Metallica get political about anything?
- 5:37SPEAKER_21: We are about music.
- 5:38SPEAKER_21: The only thing that got really political was about Napster.
- 5:41SPEAKER_19: Well, not only that, they some of their lyrics are Yeah, and some of their songs are political.
- 5:46SPEAKER_21: Yeah, I mean, you get what you want.
- 5:48SPEAKER_21: Yeah, but that's fine.
- 5:49SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 5:49unknown: Yeah.
- 5:50SPEAKER_21: That's what it's for.
- 5:51SPEAKER_21: That's your music.
- 5:52SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 5:52SPEAKER_21: I mean, who am I?
- 5:53SPEAKER_19: If you don't like it, you don't listen to it.
- 5:54SPEAKER_19: Yeah, you skip that track.
- 5:55SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 5:55SPEAKER_19: You know.
- 5:56SPEAKER_19: Exactly.
- 5:56SPEAKER_19: So um, so our friend Roger Waters.
- 6:02SPEAKER_19: Did you read what he said?
- 6:03SPEAKER_19: Oh, yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_19: Oh, you did.
- 6:04SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 6:05SPEAKER_19: Um he was on a podcast and he didn't mince words.
- 6:09SPEAKER_19: Can we stop talking about can I say this?
- 6:11SPEAKER_19: Can we stop talking about this prick?
- 6:13SPEAKER_19: Talking about James Hetfield.
- 6:15SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 6:15SPEAKER_19: I'm so bored with him.
- 6:16SPEAKER_19: He's just showing that he's a complete prick.
- 6:18SPEAKER_19: He's got an IQ of about three, and why we're talking about him, I honestly don't know, because he's a nobody and he'll always be.
- 6:27SPEAKER_19: He's a nobody.
- 6:29SPEAKER_21: Yeah, okay.
- 6:29SPEAKER_19: He may have a few hundred million dollars or whatever, but he's a prick and he's no musician.
- 6:34SPEAKER_19: I heard them.
- 6:34SPEAKER_19: I told you, I heard them playing acoustic instruments, and they couldn't.
- 6:38SPEAKER_19: It was appalling.
- 6:40SPEAKER_19: He said, uh, uh, obviously I wish he'd grown up with a mama or a dad or a friend or even a cousin or somebody in the family who's taken him to one side when he was little.
- 6:49SPEAKER_19: It's a shame this prick, my apologies, didn't have somebody around him to explain that being kind is way more important than all that loud music and bouncing around and whatever.
- 6:59SPEAKER_19: Coming from the guy calling him a prick.
- 7:01SPEAKER_19: Hold on.
- 7:02SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 7:02SPEAKER_19: Being kind, have some empathy for your fellow human beings because we need that to spread through across the whole world.
- 7:09SPEAKER_19: Metallica has one of the biggest philanthropic organizations.
- 7:14SPEAKER_22: Yeah, they're all all within my hands.
- 7:16SPEAKER_22: All within my hands.
- 7:16SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 7:17SPEAKER_22: I think that's empathetic.
- 7:19SPEAKER_21: What you got, Roger?
- 7:20SPEAKER_21: Yeah, right?
- 7:21SPEAKER_21: Where's your big uh charity?
- 7:23SPEAKER_21: I just this guy.
- 7:25SPEAKER_21: I mean, what a miserable human being.
- 7:28SPEAKER_21: He is a miserable human being.
- 7:29SPEAKER_21: Of course, if I was, you know, made that music, I'd probably be miserable miserable too.
- 7:33SPEAKER_19: But you know, he did they did such great things with Pink Floyd back in the day.
- 7:36SPEAKER_19: You may I don't think you were a fan, but you know I like I like Dark Side of the Moon.
- 7:40SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:41SPEAKER_19: Uh The Wall.
- 7:43SPEAKER_19: But then he didn't get things his way.
- 7:46SPEAKER_19: And uh they kicked him out, right?
- 7:48SPEAKER_19: He didn't quit, they kicked him out.
- 7:50SPEAKER_21: Probably.
- 7:50SPEAKER_21: I did kick him out too.
- 7:51SPEAKER_19: Yeah, and Gilmore was like, he's not coming back.
- 7:54SPEAKER_19: You know?
- 7:55SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 7:56SPEAKER_19: I just that that guy.
- 7:57SPEAKER_19: I ha that's no way to live your life.
- 7:59SPEAKER_19: It's just some people do.
- 8:01SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 8:02SPEAKER_19: Anyway, I I read that and I was like, Yeah.
- 8:04SPEAKER_22: We need to be gone, prick! Um wait a minute.
- 8:10SPEAKER_22: Take him aside to be kind.
- 8:11SPEAKER_22: He's such a prick, he's no talent, he has no talent whatsoever.
- 8:14SPEAKER_22: I'm a little confused.
- 8:16SPEAKER_19: Um You just yeah, you just called yourself out, basically.
- 8:20SPEAKER_21: Dumbass.
- 8:22SPEAKER_21: Thomas.
- 8:25SPEAKER_19: What was that from?
- 8:26SPEAKER_21: But I remember.
- 8:28SPEAKER_21: It wasn't Thomas, it was Thomas, but I was like, it was one of your priests, I think.
- 8:32SPEAKER_21: And he had an accent.
- 8:34SPEAKER_21: His name was Thomas, but it sounded like dumbass.
- 8:38SPEAKER_21: So for the whole episode, we were like, dumbass.
- 8:42SPEAKER_19: I knew it was something.
- 8:43SPEAKER_19: I couldn't remember what it was.
- 8:44SPEAKER_21: I guess I still remember that one.
- 8:46SPEAKER_21: That was funny.
- 8:47SPEAKER_19: Oh, uh, so um my daughter was down here the other day.
- 8:50SPEAKER_19: She sees this thing, and I tried to remember what it was, but she says, What is British Electric Spoob?
- 8:57SPEAKER_21: Yeah, that was another funny.
- 8:59SPEAKER_21: Well, that was from a misheard lyric.
- 9:01SPEAKER_21: Was it?
- 9:02SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 9:03SPEAKER_21: That was an Elton John misheard lyric.
- 9:06SPEAKER_21: It was but I don't British electric spoob?
- 9:09SPEAKER_21: No, boobs.
- 9:10SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 9:12SPEAKER_21: But I can't remember what the song is.
- 9:14SPEAKER_21: I can't remember the song either.
- 9:15SPEAKER_21: I know it was an Elton John song.
- 9:17SPEAKER_21: I remember that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_21: And we just went off on it because it was hilarious.
- 9:20SPEAKER_19: Yes.
- 9:21SPEAKER_19: And my wife printed up a sign.
- 9:22SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_21: Which which is even more hilarious.

- 10:09SPEAKER_19: Uh, Brian Adams.
- 10:11SPEAKER_19: Uh the only reason I'm bringing this up is because I actually have a song.
- 10:15SPEAKER_19: No.
- 10:16SPEAKER_19: Uh this is this is new stuff.
- 10:20SPEAKER_11: Almost 30 minutes.

- 10:35SPEAKER_21: What am I listening to?
- 10:36SPEAKER_21: Brian Adams.
- 10:38SPEAKER_21: Why is he in a container car?
- 10:40SPEAKER_07: Elevator forest Vancouver rails.
- 10:50SPEAKER_07: When it becomes a popular excavation.
- 11:07SPEAKER_21: He looks like a retired marine.

- 11:21SPEAKER_07: See a tower freaks in the fog.
- 11:23SPEAKER_19: Okay, here's here's what I will tell you about this album that I know of of.
- 11:29SPEAKER_19: It's the it's being billed as the first album that Brian Adams has gone political.
- 11:36SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 11:36SPEAKER_19: This kind of goes in line with what we were just talking about.
- 11:39SPEAKER_07: So he's talking about things.
- 11:46SPEAKER_21: Well, Stone doesn't explain the Bob Dylan voice.
- 11:50SPEAKER_19: Well, I think he's it's if it's a social commentary, you kinda have to be Bob Dylan, right?
- 11:54SPEAKER_19: No, I can.
- 11:55SPEAKER_21: But I can understand every word.
- 11:57SPEAKER_19: So I don't know, man.
- 11:59SPEAKER_19: I will say there isn't there is a song on this, and this is gonna rub you the wrong way.
- 12:04SPEAKER_19: Um 50.

- 12:17SPEAKER_22: Did we play this already?
- 12:18SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 12:18SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_19: Uh Canada will never be the 51st state.
- 12:22SPEAKER_19: We don't want Canada.
- 12:23SPEAKER_19: We don't want Canada to be the 50st state.
- 12:24SPEAKER_19: I like Canada.
- 12:25SPEAKER_21: I like Canada, but I like Canada like over there.
- 12:27SPEAKER_21: Yeah, and it'll never happen.
- 12:29SPEAKER_21: Yeah, you just stay over there.
- 12:30SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 12:31SPEAKER_19: So this is on that same album.
- 12:32SPEAKER_19: So it's he's it's very uh it's a political Brian Adams, and I'm not having it.
- 12:37SPEAKER_19: Go back to singing.
- 12:38SPEAKER_21: Yeah, he can do whatever he wants.
- 12:39SPEAKER_21: Of course, sure.
- 12:41SPEAKER_21: You know, we don't have to buy it.
- 12:42SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 12:42SPEAKER_21: So yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_21: Prick.
- 12:46SPEAKER_21: Be kind, prick.
- 12:49SPEAKER_21: I think we came up with the title.
- 12:56SPEAKER_21: We can't put that on the title.
- 12:57SPEAKER_21: Yeah, we can.
- 12:58SPEAKER_21: We just do the little asterisk.
- 13:00SPEAKER_21: Or just be kind, prick.
- 13:02SPEAKER_21: No.
- 13:03SPEAKER_21: Let's be a little edgy.
- 13:05SPEAKER_19: Be a little edgy?
- 13:06SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 13:07SPEAKER_19: Um, let's see.
- 13:10SPEAKER_19: There was one here.
- 13:12SPEAKER_19: These are all reissues.
- 13:13SPEAKER_19: Oh, this one.
- 13:14SPEAKER_19: Satch vi.
- 13:15SPEAKER_19: Oh yeah.

- 13:20SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 13:21SPEAKER_19: This is uh this is a song called Mayhem.
- 13:23SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 13:23SPEAKER_19: It was released uh well, the video was released a month ago.
- 13:27SPEAKER_19: And so this is two guitar legends uh after we get rid of the commercial.
- 13:32SPEAKER_21: Satch by such a go.
- 13:44SPEAKER_19: Hold on.
- 13:44SPEAKER_21: Why did it appear?
- 13:46SPEAKER_19: This comes out November sixth as well.
- 14:30SPEAKER_19: I want to hear some shreds.
- 14:34SPEAKER_19: Here we go.
- 14:36SPEAKER_19: Here we go.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: It's building.
- 14:48SPEAKER_19: So far it's just orchestrated, there's no shredding.
- 15:02SPEAKER_21: I'm not even sure that's them.
- 15:07SPEAKER_19: You mean like on the video?
- 15:08SPEAKER_21: Yeah, because they're very animated.
- 15:10SPEAKER_21: I mean, stats not usually that animated when you play.
- 15:16SPEAKER_21: Okay, we got.
- 16:11SPEAKER_19: I like it.
- 16:12SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I can't wait for this album.

- 16:24SPEAKER_21: Uh what do they even call Visatch?
- 16:27SPEAKER_19: That's a good question.
- 16:28SPEAKER_19: Didn't roll off the tongue.
- 16:31SPEAKER_21: Well, I mean it's alphabetical.
- 16:33SPEAKER_21: Visatch kind of sounds dirty.
- 16:37SPEAKER_19: Yeah, probably a little that might be why.
- 16:40SPEAKER_21: That's probably it.
- 16:41SPEAKER_19: Be kind, Prick.
- 16:46SPEAKER_19: Uh November 13th, Def Leopard Volume 4.
- 16:50SPEAKER_19: I'm not sure what that is.

- 17:14SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 17:16SPEAKER_19: This doesn't sound right on this song.
- 18:03SPEAKER_19: Apparently this was it says it says abandoned TV ad.
- 18:09SPEAKER_19: I'm not sure what that means, whether this was gonna be used for a TV ad or I don't know.
- 18:14SPEAKER_19: What TV?
- 18:15SPEAKER_19: I don't yeah, I don't know.

- 18:26SPEAKER_19: There's no story on it, so I don't I don't really know, to be honest.
- 18:29SPEAKER_21: So weird.
- 18:32SPEAKER_19: Same day.
- 18:32SPEAKER_19: Hell or High Water.
- 18:34SPEAKER_19: Cool.
- 18:34SPEAKER_19: Um and if we look ahead I mean I like Ingve.

- 20:40SPEAKER_19: I'm not sure.
- 20:41SPEAKER_19: Is No Sleep Till LA a re-release?
- 20:44SPEAKER_19: Or do you have any idea?
- 20:52SPEAKER_19: Parade of Loons Sounds oldish.
- 21:11SPEAKER_19: Yeah, it does.
- 21:18SPEAKER_19: It is from the Origins release.
- 21:19SPEAKER_19: Okay.

- 21:51SPEAKER_21: I like it.
- 21:51SPEAKER_19: Love meet some Tom Petty.
- 22:06SPEAKER_19: And these these um I kinda I kinda dig it when they take old songs and they make a new video for it.
- 22:15SPEAKER_19: Yeah it's kind of neat.
- 22:17SPEAKER_19: You follow the storyline.
- 22:19SPEAKER_19: Anyway, Parade of Loons, which is on uh Petty's album collection.
- 22:25SPEAKER_19: Um Origins 1971 to 78.

- 22:46SPEAKER_19: Um alright now that's that's it for November, but I do have some other music to listen to.
- 22:52SPEAKER_19: I just I like discovering new new stuff.
- 22:55SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 22:56SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 22:57SPEAKER_19: One of my favorite guitar players, Steve Lucather.
- 22:59SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 22:59SPEAKER_19: His son, Trev.
- 23:01SPEAKER_19: Trev, yes, is also a fantastic musician.
- 23:03SPEAKER_19: Yes, he is.
- 23:04SPEAKER_19: Guitar player, extraordinary songwriter.
- 23:06SPEAKER_19: Uh the only the only issue I ever had with Trev Lucather is he smiles too much.
- 23:10SPEAKER_19: Uh in all his videos.
- 23:12SPEAKER_21: Maybe he's happy.
- 23:13SPEAKER_19: Um I'm sure he is.
- 23:14SPEAKER_21: Um I'm the happiest guy ever.
- 23:17SPEAKER_21: My dad's favorite.
- 23:19SPEAKER_19: Back before uh the pandemic, he started a band uh with a guy named Jules Galley and Josh Devine, and they would call themselves Lavara, and then the pandemic hit.
- 23:30SPEAKER_19: And and what they were working on, um either they either they they put out an album and it didn't go anywhere because of the pandemic or something like that.
- 23:39SPEAKER_19: Anyway, they've got a new album.
- 23:41SPEAKER_19: It's a it's their sophomore album.
- 23:42SPEAKER_19: They got back together.
- 23:44SPEAKER_19: Uh and I would just like to preview uh a track from it.
- 23:50SPEAKER_19: It's called Underneath It All.
- 23:52SPEAKER_19: Comes out in 2027.
- 23:54SPEAKER_19: Features some special guests, including um Christopher Cross.
- 24:00SPEAKER_19: Um don't expect yacht rock in this case.
- 24:03SPEAKER_19: He says fans are gonna hear a side of Cross they've never heard before.
- 24:06SPEAKER_19: I hope they get his amazing guitar playing on on record because Christopher Cross is actually a really, really great guitar player.
- 24:14SPEAKER_19: Anyway, uh I'm interested to hear what this sounds like.
- 24:16SPEAKER_19: This is Lavara, a Trev Lukather on guitar, and a song called Underneath It All.
- 24:22SPEAKER_19: So let's check this out.
- 25:35SPEAKER_22: Yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_22: Yeah, museum.
- 25:44SPEAKER_19: It's got both.
- 25:45SPEAKER_19: I mean, it's it's rock and pop.
- 25:47SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 25:51SPEAKER_19: Anyway, be on the lookout for that.
- 25:54SPEAKER_19: It does a little bit.
- 25:55SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 25:55SPEAKER_19: Uh Lavara.
- 25:56SPEAKER_19: I hope I'm pronouncing that right.
- 26:05SPEAKER_19: Yeah, it's very 80s uh pop rock.
- 26:07SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_19: It's good stuff.
- 26:10SPEAKER_19: Um new music from speaking of pop, new music from Blondie.
- 26:15SPEAKER_21: Blondie?
- 26:16SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 26:16SPEAKER_19: Blondie.
- 26:17SPEAKER_19: Didn't you know they were still around?
- 26:18SPEAKER_19: Um High Noon will be the band's twelfth album and first since uh Clem Burke died, the drummer back in 2025.
- 26:24SPEAKER_19: It's gonna come out in February.
- 26:26SPEAKER_19: Um it's the first album of new material in 10 years, and includes the final recordings of their drummer, who uh died of cancer in April of last of April of 2025.
- 26:38SPEAKER_19: Uh so I just want to hear what uh Spectral Eyes sounds like.
- 26:42SPEAKER_19: This is new stuff from Blondie, and again it comes out in February.
- 26:45SPEAKER_19: This is Spectral Eyes.
- 27:33SPEAKER_19: Just and uh this isn't a critique.
- 27:35SPEAKER_21: But sounds like Debbie Harry's trying to out Debbie Debbie Harry.
- 27:38SPEAKER_19: Well, what I was gonna say is uh I picture when I hear that voice, I don't picture Debbie Harry.
- 27:49SPEAKER_19: I picture the lady from the Where's the Beef ad.
- 27:53SPEAKER_21: Right, exactly.
- 27:54SPEAKER_21: Yeah, I get that.
- 27:55SPEAKER_21: Right?
- 27:55SPEAKER_21: Or that or it was like across to that in uh Marianne Faithful from that Metallica smile.
- 28:00SPEAKER_19: Metallica, yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_19: But uh as you're listening, just picture the lady from the Where's the Beef from the Wendy's commercial.
- 28:07SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 28:09SPEAKER_17: Where's the beef?
- 28:21SPEAKER_21: Doesn't sound like Debbie Harry, doesn't it?
- 28:23SPEAKER_21: Really, but the song is good.
- 28:25SPEAKER_21: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:26SPEAKER_16: I'm liking the music, but her voice is kind of like she's what?
- 28:42SPEAKER_19: 70s or something?
- 28:43SPEAKER_19: She's gotta be something like that, yeah.
- 28:46SPEAKER_19: I mean, who are we to Yeah, I mean, you know, they're still doing it.
- 28:49SPEAKER_19: They're still doing it, right?
- 28:51SPEAKER_19: More power to them.
- 28:52SPEAKER_19: It's it's awesome.
- 28:54SPEAKER_19: And then like you said, the music is good.
- 28:56SPEAKER_19: The the songs.
- 28:56SPEAKER_21: Yeah, it's good.
- 28:58SPEAKER_21: I like it.
- 28:58SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 28:59SPEAKER_21: Just her voice is kind of eh.
- 29:01SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah, a little bit.
- 29:02SPEAKER_19: Uh, and one more new tune um to check out.
- 29:06SPEAKER_19: Uh have you ever heard of Cactus?
- 29:08SPEAKER_19: Cactus was a like a blues rock band from the 70s that had a had a following, uh, weren't huge, but they've been together since then, and of course they broke up here and there because Carmine A Peace is the was the drummer.
- 29:22SPEAKER_19: He was the founding member.
- 29:24SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 29:24SPEAKER_19: Um anyway, they got back together.
- 29:26SPEAKER_19: They've been together for a little while.
- 29:28SPEAKER_19: Uh, and they've been uh collaborating with Ty Tabor from Kids uh King's X.
- 29:33SPEAKER_19: And they have a new album coming out.
- 29:36SPEAKER_19: Um actually, they have a new album out, actually.
- 29:40SPEAKER_19: Uh Temple of Blues 2, which is the follow-up to Temple of Blues 1.
- 29:45SPEAKER_19: Thank you very much.
- 29:46SPEAKER_19: I figured that out all by myself.
- 29:49SPEAKER_19: Um But it's a it's a blues tune.
- 29:52SPEAKER_19: It's a cover.
- 29:53SPEAKER_19: And they do a couple of blues covers on this latest album.
- 29:57SPEAKER_19: But this is uh 300 pounds of joy, the Hall and Wolf tune.
- 30:02SPEAKER_19: Uh so this is uh Cactus featuring Ty Tabor of King's X, Carmine of Peace, and Ed Terry, and 300 Pounds of Joy.
- 30:11SPEAKER_19: This is the video, that's why you're hearing all this stuff.
- 30:16SPEAKER_11: Eddie, we love you!
- 30:18SPEAKER_19: Apparently in the video, there's a wrestling match.
- 31:21SPEAKER_21: Why is Robert De Niro the ref, right?
- 31:24SPEAKER_21: That's Carmine.
- 31:25SPEAKER_21: That's Carmine the P.
- 31:27SPEAKER_21: I know he looks like a Robin a little bit.
- 31:30SPEAKER_19: Isn't a Howl and Wolf tune?
- 31:34SPEAKER_19: Helen Wolf ever seen Melody?
- 31:38SPEAKER_21: What is what do you expect from a guy that calls himself Howl and Wolf?
- 31:43SPEAKER_22: Yeah, but no, uh what I'm saying is I'm sure they made it their own.
- 31:48SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 32:35SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 32:36SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 32:37SPEAKER_19: I mean it's it's cool, I guess.
- 32:40SPEAKER_19: Three hundred pounds of joy.
- 32:42SPEAKER_19: Uh new music from Cactus, and again, that album I think is out already.
- 32:46SPEAKER_19: Uh yeah, it's available now.
- 32:48SPEAKER_19: Uh Temple of Blues 2.
- 32:51SPEAKER_19: Uh, let's see if there's a Oh, and they got a lot of guests on it.
- 32:55SPEAKER_19: Backdoor Man Part 1 and 2 featuring Eric Gales and Billy Sheehan.
- 32:59SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 32:59SPEAKER_19: Um Pat Travers is on there with him.
- 33:02SPEAKER_19: Doug Pinick from King's X, Bumblefoot, Steve Morse, Jolan Turner, and Derek Sharinian, and Tony Franklin.
- 33:07SPEAKER_19: Oh here.
- 33:08SPEAKER_19: My goodness.
- 33:09SPEAKER_19: Uh Tail Dragger's got Rudy Sarzo and Alex Skolnick.
- 33:13SPEAKER_19: Uh Dee Snyder, Tracy Guns is on Little Red Rooster.
- 33:17SPEAKER_19: Uh Ted Nugent does does Spoonful with him.
- 33:21SPEAKER_21: Um here's the original.
- 34:03SPEAKER_19: I gotta say, I like that version better.
- 34:08SPEAKER_21: Well, I mean, it's the original.
- 34:09SPEAKER_21: That's that's Howl and Wolf, man.
- 34:11SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 34:12SPEAKER_19: Um that's the OG.
- 34:14SPEAKER_19: That's the OG.
- 34:15SPEAKER_19: Well, that's all I have for new music.
- 34:17SPEAKER_19: Uh that's a lot, actually, for one episode.
- 34:20SPEAKER_19: Um, I did want to cover this.
- 34:23SPEAKER_19: Uh just a couple of them.
- 34:25SPEAKER_19: The uh title of these uh of this article on Ultimate Classic Rock is Why Do Fans Dislike These Records?
- 34:34SPEAKER_21: Oh, okay.
- 34:36SPEAKER_19: And I'll pick a few.
- 34:37SPEAKER_21: Because uh Roger Waters won't appear on that?
- 34:42SPEAKER_21: Uh no, actually.
- 34:43SPEAKER_21: It doesn't.
- 34:44SPEAKER_21: He doesn't.
- 34:46SPEAKER_19: We're gonna be very kind to you.
- 34:49SPEAKER_19: They go they go, um they go with songs and and and records.
- 34:54SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 34:54SPEAKER_19: Uh Wings, silly love songs from 1976.
- 34:59SPEAKER_19: Paul McCartney's gutsy response to criticism that his songs were light, frothy, and made for grandmas was to write a light, frothy song about it, and it reached number one.
- 35:09SPEAKER_19: It it's uh the song itself is not all that terrible.
- 35:11SPEAKER_19: It's got a monster hook and is better than 95% of the earlier songs he was so often criticized for, but that instant tunefulness fueled the haters.
- 35:20SPEAKER_19: I don't hate that song.
- 35:21SPEAKER_19: I like that song.
- 35:22SPEAKER_19: I love that song.
- 35:23SPEAKER_19: Uh Van Halen 3.
- 35:27SPEAKER_19: We've talked about this nauseum.
- 35:29SPEAKER_19: Ad nauseum.
- 35:31SPEAKER_19: Um I think if it were redone uh or I don't know if uh there were some good moments on it.
- 35:38SPEAKER_21: There were.
- 35:39SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 35:39SPEAKER_21: There was some good stuff on there.
- 35:41SPEAKER_19: And and uh we love Gary Sharon.
- 35:43SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_21: Uh so I I you know, on paper, you know, you know, this album is like communism.
- 35:48SPEAKER_21: On paper, it should work.
- 35:49SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 35:49SPEAKER_19: You know, but it just It just didn't.
- 35:52SPEAKER_19: It just didn't.
- 35:52SPEAKER_19: Although uh if you've never seen footage of Gary Sharon fronting Van Halen in concert, uh one of the few uh he he insisted on doing both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar era songs.
- 36:04SPEAKER_19: Sure.
- 36:05SPEAKER_19: Uh because he can do them.
- 36:06SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 36:06SPEAKER_19: Um He's one of the few that can.
- 36:08SPEAKER_19: Right, exactly.
- 36:09SPEAKER_19: Mr.
- 36:10SPEAKER_21: Robotto, Mr.
- 36:13SPEAKER_21: Roboto, Domotomo.
- 36:18SPEAKER_19: Um Styx was a concept album uh band in its early days.
- 36:21SPEAKER_19: They started as a prog rock group before hitting the top 40 with songs like Babe and Best of Times.
- 36:26SPEAKER_19: So their 83 concept album, Kilroy Was Here, wasn't a shock, but its first single, Mr.
- 36:30SPEAKER_19: Robotto, was.
- 36:32SPEAKER_19: Out of context, it's a slight confusing and goofy piece of futuristic nonsense about an imprisoned rock and roll singer and the robot guards who watch over him.
- 36:40SPEAKER_19: Not exactly the sort of thing you want blasting out of your car.
- 36:42SPEAKER_21: I think it was because Dennis Young just overdid it.
- 36:46SPEAKER_19: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 36:48SPEAKER_19: Well, I think if you've seen their behind the music, they talk about it.
- 36:51SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 36:51SPEAKER_19: It's like uh they came out like Tommy Shaw was said, they came out in costumes.
- 36:56SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 36:56SPEAKER_19: And I think wasn't the opener Hagar?
- 36:59SPEAKER_19: Was it Hagar?
- 37:00SPEAKER_21: Yeah, I think it was, yeah.
- 37:00SPEAKER_19: Sammy Hagar.
- 37:01SPEAKER_21: Or on one of it, yeah.
- 37:03SPEAKER_19: Something like that.
- 37:03SPEAKER_19: And and they were just ripping and and and then they come out in costumes and do like a musical.
- 37:09SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 37:10SPEAKER_19: And so, yeah, fancy did not like that very much.
- 37:12SPEAKER_21: I get it.
- 37:12SPEAKER_19: Yeah, me too.
- 37:13SPEAKER_19: But I do like that song.
- 37:14SPEAKER_19: Oh, yeah, me too.
- 37:15SPEAKER_19: Yeah, in retrospect for sure.
- 37:17SPEAKER_19: Just like this one.
- 37:18SPEAKER_19: I like this one too.
- 37:19SPEAKER_19: We built this city from Starship.
- 37:22SPEAKER_19: Uh from 85.
- 37:23SPEAKER_19: Now, it was written, um you know, people don't know this, a lot of people don't know this, but this was written by um Bernie uh Toppin and Martin Page.
- 37:34SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I think.
- 37:35SPEAKER_19: Two fantastic songwriters.

- 38:38SPEAKER_22: Shiny happy people.
- 38:43SPEAKER_21: I I I hated that song because my roommate at the time loved loved R.E.M.
- 38:53SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 38:54SPEAKER_21: And he would play that.
- 38:55SPEAKER_21: He would get drunk and play that constantly.
- 39:00SPEAKER_21: And we all just wanted to punch him in the face.
- 39:02SPEAKER_21: Even REM.
- 39:04SPEAKER_21: I hate that song.
- 39:05SPEAKER_21: I b I believe it.
- 39:06SPEAKER_19: I believe it.
- 39:07SPEAKER_19: I do.

- 39:09SPEAKER_19: It's not a good it's not good.
- 39:11SPEAKER_19: It's not good.
- 39:12SPEAKER_19: Um let's see.
- 39:14SPEAKER_19: Um I I gotta get something from this album.
- 39:19SPEAKER_19: Because well I don't have to, but I'm I'm going to because this is the the next one.
- 39:24SPEAKER_19: Uh Lulu from Lou Reed and Metallica.
- 39:28SPEAKER_19: Now we have talked about this album and how uh magically awful it is.
- 39:35SPEAKER_19: Uh but I I I don't know that we've ever played anything from it.
- 39:39SPEAKER_21: Because it sucks.
- 39:40SPEAKER_19: I know.
- 39:41SPEAKER_19: So um I'm just saying.
- 39:44SPEAKER_19: Would you know any of the songs?
- 39:46SPEAKER_19: Nope.
- 39:46SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 39:47SPEAKER_19: Don't want to.
- 39:47SPEAKER_19: So I'm just going to I refuse to learn any songs from Lulu.
- 39:51SPEAKER_19: I'm going to play one.
- 39:52SPEAKER_19: Oh, okay.
- 39:53SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 39:54SPEAKER_19: Uh just to give you an idea of what we're dealing with.
- 39:58SPEAKER_19: Okay, so the music, here's the music.
- 40:00SPEAKER_19: The music is, you know, it's Metallica.
- 40:02SPEAKER_19: Crime cloud.
- 40:04SPEAKER_19: This is called iced honey.
- 40:07SPEAKER_19: Metallica's collaboration with Lou Reed.
- 40:21SPEAKER_15: Don't I?
- 40:25SPEAKER_15: Or the start or the start.
- 40:28SPEAKER_15: It doesn't matter who you are, I just turned it.
- 40:36SPEAKER_15: I turned.
- 40:40SPEAKER_15: Now me, I'm trying to move.
- 40:42SPEAKER_19: Okay, I can't I can't even listen to it anymore.
- 40:45SPEAKER_19: Uh let's try.
- 40:46SPEAKER_21: I'm not I'm not even sure.
- 40:48SPEAKER_21: Because there there are times when I'm like I I bet if James did the vocals, it would be better.
- 40:55SPEAKER_19: Oh, I know it.
- 40:56SPEAKER_21: But I I I don't even think he could save it at this point.
- 40:59SPEAKER_19: Uh here's another one.
- 41:01SPEAKER_21: Why why are we doing this?
- 41:02SPEAKER_19: Just cause.
- 41:03SPEAKER_19: This is called pumping blood.
- 41:05SPEAKER_21: I don't like you right now.
- 41:17SPEAKER_21: You know when a pet band tunes up?
- 41:21SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 41:21SPEAKER_21: That's what it sounds like.
- 42:07SPEAKER_19: Make it stop.
- 42:10SPEAKER_19: I've had enough of that.
- 42:11SPEAKER_19: Um Alright, moving on.
- 42:12SPEAKER_19: Billy Joel, we didn't start the fire.
- 42:14SPEAKER_19: We didn't start the fire.
- 42:16SPEAKER_19: People really hate that song.
- 42:17SPEAKER_19: I don't know why.
- 42:18SPEAKER_19: I don't either.
- 42:18SPEAKER_19: I really like it.
- 42:19SPEAKER_19: He he doesn't like it.
- 42:20SPEAKER_21: I don't understand why.
- 42:21SPEAKER_19: I well, I mean, it was an exercise, I think.
- 42:24SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 42:25SPEAKER_19: You know.
- 42:25SPEAKER_21: But I mean, it's really good.
- 42:27SPEAKER_21: Um he said it's it's not your usual Billy Joel fair, yes.
- 42:33SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 42:34SPEAKER_21: I get that, but I mean I like the song.
- 42:38SPEAKER_19: It's a sudio, Phil Collins.
- 42:42SPEAKER_19: Again.
- 42:42SPEAKER_19: I like the I like that song.
- 42:44SPEAKER_19: Me too.
- 42:45SPEAKER_19: Um let's see this.
- 42:48SPEAKER_19: I think the first one was or Coco Mo from the Beach Boys.
- 42:52SPEAKER_21: How do you not like Coco Mo?
- 42:54SPEAKER_21: Well, I mean, it's kind of milk toast.
- 42:56SPEAKER_21: Well, yeah.
- 42:57SPEAKER_21: But I mean, it's still, I mean, for what it was, it's a pretty good song.
- 43:01SPEAKER_20: Of the Florida Key.
- 43:05SPEAKER_20: There's a place called Kokomo.
- 43:09SPEAKER_20: Where Tom Cruise will flip a bottle for you.
- 43:14SPEAKER_19: There are a lot more songs on this list.
- 43:16SPEAKER_20: Isn't that Elizabeth Shue in that movie?
- 43:18SPEAKER_19: Yeah, she is.
- 43:19SPEAKER_19: That's all that movie had going for, as far as I'm concerned.
- 43:23SPEAKER_19: Aerosmith, I don't want to miss a thing.
- 43:27SPEAKER_21: I don't think it's necessarily a bad song, but it just got overplayed.
- 43:30SPEAKER_19: Well, here's what they say, and I agree with them.
- 43:33SPEAKER_19: For the record, I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing isn't a bad song.
- 43:36SPEAKER_19: It's just not an Aerosmith song.
- 43:38SPEAKER_19: Uh, not that anyone should have been surprised when they recorded their only number one single in ninety eight.
- 43:43SPEAKER_19: It was written by Diane Warren.
- 43:44SPEAKER_19: It was from the Armageddon soundtrack.
- 43:46SPEAKER_19: Uh the band brought in outside songwriters for its most recent albums.
- 43:49SPEAKER_19: This hit ballad was the inevitable outcome of those mainstream collaborations.
- 43:54SPEAKER_19: Again, they like the song, but it's a long way.
- 43:56SPEAKER_21: Well, if Liv hadn't been in the movie, he probably never would have done it.
- 43:59SPEAKER_19: That's probably true.
- 44:00SPEAKER_19: Yeah, that's probably true.
- 44:02SPEAKER_19: Um, so that's all I have.
- 44:04SPEAKER_19: So what are we going to next?
- 44:08SPEAKER_19: I can't remember the thing.
- 44:09SPEAKER_19: We can do who does.
- 44:10SPEAKER_19: Yeah, let's do who does.
- 44:12SPEAKER_19: Um, so we are this was given to us by Rick! Rick! Hi Rick! Um, and Rick wanted us to feature this artist, which Doug and I know all about.
- 44:24SPEAKER_21: Well, I had to laugh when he messaged me because I was like, quote myself correctly.
- 44:30SPEAKER_21: Uh he said, Another artist for you to check out, Samantha Fish.
- 44:39SPEAKER_21: When you see her, all will be clear.
- 44:41SPEAKER_21: Lol.
- 44:42SPEAKER_21: And I said, Oh yeah, we know Samantha Fish.
- 44:44SPEAKER_19: We know Samantha Fish.
- 44:45SPEAKER_21: And he said, Enough said.
- 44:46unknown: Lol.
- 44:47SPEAKER_19: Okay, now yes, Samantha Fish is attractive, of course.
- 44:51SPEAKER_19: But she kicks buttons.
- 44:52SPEAKER_19: She is killer.
- 44:54SPEAKER_19: She kicks buttons.
- 44:55SPEAKER_19: Killer.
- 44:56SPEAKER_19: As a songwriter, as a singer, and as a guitar player, um, she's amazing.
- 45:00SPEAKER_19: So from her latest album, Paper Doll, I figured I'd finit I'd uh feature uh a song called Can You Handle the Heat?
- 45:07SPEAKER_19: Um, and this is what that sounds like.
- 45:14SPEAKER_19: You have a you have a chick behind you.
- 45:17SPEAKER_19: What are you doing?
- 45:18SPEAKER_22: Hey Myra!
- 45:21SPEAKER_19: Oh, alright.
- 45:25SPEAKER_19: This is a video, by the way, so that's why.
- 45:27SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 45:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: I only want you for the mystery, the thrill just takes.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: You only want me when you lose and when I'm walking away.
- 45:57SPEAKER_04: I get live.
- 46:11SPEAKER_19: I actually think that.
- 46:13SPEAKER_19: Oh, this is live.
- 46:15SPEAKER_19: I thought it was just a music video, but it's live.
- 46:17SPEAKER_19: That's why it sounds like that.
- 46:18SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 46:19SPEAKER_19: She's in the studio, but she's playing live.
- 46:24SPEAKER_21: I like how she has Derek Jeter playing for her now.
- 46:29SPEAKER_21: That's pretty impressive.
- 46:30SPEAKER_21: I was wondering what he did when he's retired.
- 46:40SPEAKER_19: Let me get you another one because she's she's really good, man.
- 46:43SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I want to try something find something.
- 46:44SPEAKER_19: Oh, here's one.
- 46:45SPEAKER_19: This one's from five years ago.
- 46:46SPEAKER_19: Uh, this is from her album Faster.
- 46:48SPEAKER_19: It's the title cut.
- 46:50SPEAKER_19: After I play I go through this commercial.
- 46:55SPEAKER_19: This is a show on Hulu, I guess.
- 46:57SPEAKER_19: All right, here we go.
- 46:58SPEAKER_19: There we go.
- 46:59SPEAKER_19: This is what I'm talking about.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be a little so uh so small.
- 47:16SPEAKER_01: Like Actually, that sounds more like a country zone.
- 47:21SPEAKER_19: It sounds a little bit.
- 47:25SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: Marina Lambert.
- 47:30SPEAKER_19: And again, I don't think that's a right representation for her.
- 47:33SPEAKER_19: This is great stuff, but I want to find something that's when I think of Samantha Fish, uh, I think of like just hard-edge blues.
- 47:44SPEAKER_19: There's she is with her uh cigar box guitar.
- 47:47SPEAKER_19: Um Twisted Ambition.
- 47:50SPEAKER_19: This one was from also from five years ago.
- 47:52SPEAKER_19: I don't know what this one is.
- 47:55SPEAKER_19: That doesn't sound like her either.
- 47:57SPEAKER_19: Maybe it does.
- 48:39SPEAKER_19: Maybe this one yes, this is what I when I got it first introduced to Samantha Fish, this is the type of stuff I remember.
- 49:40SPEAKER_04: Drinking in and playing cards, got the eight step to sleep, got a pistol on my side, and if it's I'm gonna give it to him right after.
- 49:56SPEAKER_04: It's just another set to be nice.
- 49:59SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 49:59SPEAKER_19: That's one called Lay It Down, by the way.
- 50:01SPEAKER_19: She's yeah, yeah, she's amazing.
- 50:02SPEAKER_19: Yeah, she's a great guitar player, especially, uh, and just a great artist.
- 50:06SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 50:07SPEAKER_19: Samantha Fish uh on Who Dis this week.
- 50:10SPEAKER_19: So thank you, Rick.
- 50:12SPEAKER_19: Appreciate it.
- 50:14SPEAKER_19: Um it's time for Chuck Klosterman's hypertheticals uh insane um conversations.
- 50:22SPEAKER_19: Questions.
- 50:23SPEAKER_19: So here is my actually let me get some um let me get some background music.
- 50:30SPEAKER_21: Whose turn is it to answer?
- 50:31SPEAKER_19: I think it's your turn to answer, because I well, I answered the underground house one.
- 50:35SPEAKER_21: Well then I answered the uh the the smart pill one.
- 50:39SPEAKER_19: That wasn't last week.
- 50:41SPEAKER_19: Are you sure?
- 50:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 50:43SPEAKER_19: I thought I answered the underground house one last week.
- 50:46SPEAKER_19: Well, did we put it in order?
- 50:48SPEAKER_21: I don't know what you do!
- 50:50SPEAKER_19: Oh, body versus mind.
- 50:51SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 50:55SPEAKER_21: I'm gonna read stuff.
- 50:56SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 50:59SPEAKER_21: So this one is called the Meteor.
- 51:03SPEAKER_21: Alright.
- 51:04SPEAKER_21: This is gonna be a happy one.
- 51:06SPEAKER_21: The earth is about to be struck by a mammoth meteor.
- 51:10SPEAKER_21: Though no one knows exactly what will happen.
- 51:12SPEAKER_21: Most scientists assume life on Earth will be totally altered and potentially eliminated.
- 51:17SPEAKER_21: See, I told you he was happy.
- 51:18SPEAKER_11: Yay!
- 51:21SPEAKER_21: Be kind, prick.
- 51:22SPEAKER_21: Um, everyone on the planet is freaking out.
- 51:25SPEAKER_21: Suddenly you receive a bizarre email.
- 51:28SPEAKER_21: The government demands that you must fly to Washington, D.C.
- 51:31SPEAKER_21: immediately, by order of the president.
- 51:34SPEAKER_21: The email message includes a first-class plane ticket.
- 51:37SPEAKER_21: Once you arrive at Dulles Airport, military police confiscate your cell phone and wordlessly transport you to a secret hangar that houses 10 massive space shuttles.
- 51:47SPEAKER_21: You are escorted onto one of the ships.
- 51:50SPEAKER_21: Not counting the crew, there are 24 equally confused people waiting on board.
- 51:55SPEAKER_21: You recognize a few of these people instantly.
- 51:57SPEAKER_21: Bill Gates, the musician Prince, and Oprah Winfrey.
- 52:02SPEAKER_21: Prince is dead.
- 52:05SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 52:06SPEAKER_21: Uh when the individuals you don't recognize begin talking, interacting with one another, it becomes clear that all of them are brilliant scientists, consequential artists, or extremely wealthy political figures.
- 52:18SPEAKER_21: The ship's captain informs all the passengers that the space shuttle will be leaving Earth in two hours.
- 52:24SPEAKER_21: He does not say where it's going, although he does insist that anyone who wants to remain on Earth is free to stay behind.
- 52:31SPEAKER_21: You are 90% certain that you have been selected for this trip by mistake.
- 52:37SPEAKER_21: Do you remain on board?
- 52:39SPEAKER_21: And if you do, how will you explain your presence to the other 24 passengers?
- 52:45SPEAKER_21: You have no idea if admitting your true identity will disqualify you from traveling.
- 52:52SPEAKER_19: So do I stay on the ship?
- 52:55SPEAKER_19: Should I stay or should I go?
- 52:58SPEAKER_19: But life on Earth is Yeah, it's not looking good.
- 53:03SPEAKER_19: It's not looking good.
- 53:03SPEAKER_21: Yeah, it's it's look like you're gonna need, like, you know, SPF 1 billion if you're gonna survive.
- 53:10SPEAKER_19: And where are the space shuttles going?
- 53:12SPEAKER_21: It doesn't say.
- 53:13SPEAKER_21: It says it doesn't know.
- 53:15SPEAKER_21: He does not say where it's going.
- 53:18SPEAKER_19: But I'm on there with Bill Gates.
- 53:22SPEAKER_21: Well, you're there with Prince.
- 53:24SPEAKER_19: An Oprah.
- 53:25SPEAKER_21: An Oprah?
- 53:26SPEAKER_21: I mean, just hang out with Prince, that'd be cool.
- 53:28SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 53:29SPEAKER_21: Just, you know.
- 53:31SPEAKER_21: Just make fun of Bill Gates and Oprah Wolfrey.
- 53:34SPEAKER_19: So what about so what about my family?
- 53:38SPEAKER_19: Nope.
- 53:39SPEAKER_19: Just you.
- 53:40SPEAKER_19: Just me.
- 53:40SPEAKER_21: Just you, man.
- 53:43SPEAKER_19: Yeah, no?
- 53:45SPEAKER_21: No, no.
- 53:46SPEAKER_21: Getting off?
- 53:46SPEAKER_19: Yeah, if my family is not with me, then I don't wanna.
- 53:50SPEAKER_19: I don't wanna.
- 53:51SPEAKER_19: Like, like like they died, then I wanna die too.
- 53:54SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 53:54SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 53:55SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 53:56SPEAKER_19: I think, yeah.
- 53:57SPEAKER_19: I think.
- 53:58SPEAKER_19: I think.
- 53:59SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 53:59SPEAKER_19: That's my reaction.
- 54:01SPEAKER_21: I think.
- 54:02SPEAKER_21: That's that's my initial reaction.
- 54:03SPEAKER_21: Let's see.
- 54:04SPEAKER_21: Save my family, hang out with Prince.
- 54:05SPEAKER_21: Hmm.
- 54:08SPEAKER_21: Dilemma.
- 54:09SPEAKER_21: Right.
- 54:12SPEAKER_21: Uh my first question would be like, Prince, you're alive! He'd be like, yeah.
- 54:20SPEAKER_19: Was this a CIA thing?
- 54:22SPEAKER_19: This whole Prince dying thing?
- 54:24SPEAKER_19: Was it like, is he like in in protective custody right now or something?
- 54:28SPEAKER_21: I doubt it.
- 54:28SPEAKER_21: I think he's dead.
- 54:29SPEAKER_21: I do too.
- 54:30SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 54:31SPEAKER_19: Just join.
- 54:31SPEAKER_21: Well, I mean, there was there is a conspiracy theory that John Lennon was a CIA operative.
- 54:36SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I heard that too.
- 54:38SPEAKER_21: Uh, who else?
- 54:39SPEAKER_19: Um Yeah, he was in a movie recently.
- 54:42SPEAKER_19: Who?
- 54:43SPEAKER_19: John Lennon.
- 54:44SPEAKER_19: A few years ago.
- 54:45SPEAKER_19: Remember so remember that movie yesterday?
- 54:47SPEAKER_21: Oh, yeah.
- 54:47SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 54:48SPEAKER_21: Yeah, he was in that.
- 54:49SPEAKER_21: It's good to see him.
- 54:50SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 54:50SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 54:51SPEAKER_21: He's doing well.
- 54:52SPEAKER_21: Yes, he looks well.
- 54:52SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 54:53SPEAKER_21: Despite being shot.
- 54:55SPEAKER_21: Alright.
- 54:55SPEAKER_21: Apparently they found a cure for that.
- 54:57SPEAKER_21: Right?
- 54:58SPEAKER_21: Here, take two of these and call us in the morning.
- 55:00SPEAKER_21: Are we ready with this?
- 55:02SPEAKER_21: Uh, hold on.
- 55:03SPEAKER_21: I'm not sure the judge is ready.
- 55:10SPEAKER_21: No, judge is not ready yet.
- 55:11SPEAKER_19: Judge is not ready, so what are we doing?
- 55:14SPEAKER_21: I don't know.

- 55:29SPEAKER_19: And then we'll yeah.
- 55:30SPEAKER_19: Listen, uh Miss Judge, Mrs.
- 55:33SPEAKER_19: Judgeness.
- 55:34SPEAKER_21: She's in a meeting, that's why she's late.
- 55:35SPEAKER_19: Oh.
- 55:36SPEAKER_21: She has an excuse.
- 55:37SPEAKER_21: Well, I mean, she can She's super important, you know.
- 55:41SPEAKER_22: She's ahead of the space program.
- 55:42SPEAKER_22: Get it to Doug on Monday.

- 55:47SPEAKER_22: You tell her that.
- 55:48SPEAKER_22: I I'm not going to I'm not gonna tell her anything.
- 55:50SPEAKER_22: I don't know who she is.

- 1:01:27SPEAKER_21: No cage.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_21: What song gives you the courage to jump into it?
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_19: What did we have uh Justin did not?
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_21: He said he was going to, but he did not.

- 1:01:48SPEAKER_21: You're a loser.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_02: You're a loser.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_21: You're a loser.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_21: Lose your head, we're gonna lose your face.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, you got me.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_21: It's hard to believe that we're in our 50s.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_21: People must listen to this podcast and are like, hey.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_21: Nobody listens to this podcast.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_21: They're always like, dude, they probably listen to Bob in like 10 minutes, and they're like, these guys are idiots.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_21: I'm going away.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_21: Listen to something more more smart.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_21: Like Bill Nine.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_22: What are you doing?
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_22: Michelle Obama.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_22: What are we what are we doing?
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_22: Oh, the question.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_22: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_22: I was playing Cousin Larry.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_22: Cousin Larry, yes.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_22: Cousin Larry.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_22: Wait, what was the question?
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_21: The great white shark thing.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_19: Yeah, well, we gotta we gotta read it.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_19: We can't just say great.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_21: I just did.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_21: You did?
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_21: You weren't listening.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: Be kind.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: You read the read the whole the question?
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: The whole question?
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: You weren't paying attention! Apparently not.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_02: Well, I am doing 24 things over here.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_02: Loser face.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: Why are you such a loser face?
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_02: Cousin Larry.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_02: What's his pick?
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_21: Okay.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_21: Mixtape.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_21: I am not sure a song exists to give me the courage to jump into the ocean with a Great White.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_21: I thought about O'Brien's baby shark once again.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_21: The theme from Jaws seems like it would have the opposite effect of instilling courage.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_21: I thought about the band Great White and wondered if they had a song that might fire me up, but once bitten, twice shy.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_21: And rock me didn't really work.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_21: What I probably need is some liquid courage.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_21: But probably not the smartest idea.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_21: Since it is off the coast of Australia, I thought about my favorite Aussie band, Air Supply.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_21: LOL.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_21: Oh, jeez.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_21: Just kidding.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_21: Although air supply may be critical.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_21: I will go with ACDC's TNT to get me in the water.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_21: Honorable mention to their song, If you want blood, you've got it, because that may be what I'm serving up to the shark.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_06: I can see how that might fire you up.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_06: Call the TV screen.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_19: He is a big ACBT fan, isn't he?
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_02: With a chart.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_06: Do I pull up?
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_21: Alright, what was your choice?
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_21: I actually picked Gray White.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_13: Was it really that?
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_21: When he said it, I was like, oh.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_21: It has nothing to do with sharks, right?
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_21: But once bit and twice shy.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_21: Yeah, yeah, no, I kind of fits.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_21: Yeah.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_19: An old Ian Hunter tune.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_03: Times are getting hard for you, little girl.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_03: I'ma hummin' and a strumin' All over God's world.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_03: In the ocean.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_03: Can't remember when you got your last wheel.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_03: For the shark.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_03: You got a girl on the field.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_03: Ouch.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_03: You didn't know what a rock and roll was Until you met my drummer on the graph to bus.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_03: I got there in the nick of time.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_03: Before he got his hands crowded to stay like Alright, I'm gonna forward to the chorus here.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_03: She was giving what we go.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_03: I won't spin twice, baby.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_19: I'll have to change the subject.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_19: You know, I'm playing this on YouTube.

- 1:07:18SPEAKER_21: Well don't forget.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_19: I won't.

- 1:07:20SPEAKER_19: Yes, we are.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_19: Okay.

- 1:10:58SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_19: Yeah, it's too bubblegum for me.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_21: Well, he's he's single-handedly trying to bring the eighties back.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_19: Yeah, no, it is very eighties.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_19: And he sounds good.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_19: I mean it's yeah, he sounds pretty good.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_21: Please make up your mind for good.
- 1:11:34unknown: Don't need me on a wild.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_19: And he looks great for you know, for 64.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_21: Well, I'm sure that's surgically enhanced.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_19: I'm just saying.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_19: Maybe maybe.
