- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So have you ever considered how much we affect each other when
- 0:36we're in the process of talking about anything, like just
- 0:40anything we could, we can say 1 little thing and how it affects
- 0:45somebody else and how it, it dissuades them and puts the pin
- 0:48in their balloon, takes them down a rabbit hole, whatever it
- 0:50is. And I'm not even talking about
- 0:51people that are very close to us.
- 0:52I'm talking about people that are just around us.
- 0:55Recently I was speaking to a client who had was talking about
- 1:00how a potential job change would come up and how this would be
- 1:05something that he was thinking about doing.
- 1:08And he had spoken to somebody about it.
- 1:11And this person was, I, I won't say negative.
- 1:14I would say this person probably would frame themselves as being
- 1:18very realistic. However, they were not
- 1:20enthusiastic, and in their quest to be realistic, they kind of
- 1:26ruined the whole thing for him, which was shocking to me because
- 1:29you would think that they would be, you know, helpful since
- 1:34that's their profession. Like, if someone comes to me and
- 1:37says I'm considering coaching, I have no problem talking to
- 1:41people about it. I want people to understand how
- 1:44great it is to coach, how there's such a fulfilling
- 1:47feeling to help people and to, you know, put them on, give them
- 1:52the skill to be able to help themselves.
- 1:54And when we coach and we do these things, it's like such a,
- 1:57it's such a gift to everybody to be able to help them.
- 2:01Now, is everything about this profession easy?
- 2:04No, it's not even remotely easy. There's so much about it that's
- 2:07not easy. And I still do it and there's so
- 2:12much about it that's fantastic. The fantastic outweighs the
- 2:16heavier stuff. And I think that most things are
- 2:20like that duality. There's always going to be good
- 2:25and and and not so good. There's always going to be dark
- 2:28and light, but sharing with other people is important.
- 2:33It's imperative. It's, it's critical that if
- 2:37you're going to share with other people, try to share from a
- 2:40place of optimism with a mix of like, well, I'll tell you my
- 2:45like how I think of it. And I always say to people,
- 2:48listen, coaching is like a beautiful, rewarding, wonderful
- 2:54profession. And at the same time, you have
- 2:57to take care of yourself so you don't become drained.
- 2:59And you have to make sure that you give time to yourself to
- 3:03heal up in between days when you're coaching, because it can
- 3:09be, it can be draining, but you have to learn how to protect
- 3:12your, your emotions, your, how to protect your energy.
- 3:15And you have to be willing to go out and talk to people so they
- 3:19know you're doing it. I, I give it to them in that
- 3:23frame. I don't say, well, it's tough
- 3:26selling. Oh, it's this Like I don't ever
- 3:29want to frame something like that because I don't want to be
- 3:33the the thing that makes someone choose a no unless I am 1000%
- 3:39certain it is a horrible profession or a horrible thing.
- 3:44It like it going to a certain restaurant.
- 3:45We use that as an example. If they say, oh, I want to go to
- 3:47this place, I would be like, my experience has been it's been
- 3:49terrible. I will come right out and say
- 3:52it. I had a terrible experience.
- 3:54You should decide for yourself, but my experience was terrible
- 3:58and I'm very clear about saying it in those in that frame.
- 4:02At the same time, it's so important to remember what if
- 4:07they were sharing and you were the only person they shared
- 4:10with? What if you were the one person
- 4:12they decided, I want to talk to somebody about this and you
- 4:16decide to just make them feel like there's no chance, there's
- 4:20no possibilities. I live in a in a world filled
- 4:24with possibilities. I live in a world filled with
- 4:26good quality. Like I can make things happen.
- 4:31Sure, maybe sometimes things don't go as planned.
- 4:34Of course, this is called being human.
- 4:36But I, I choose to live in the possibility frame all the time.
- 4:40I will not move out of that. There's always a possibility.
- 4:43There's always a way to reframe. There's always a way to think of
- 4:46something. So when you're doing this and
- 4:49you're having these conversations, be conscientious
- 4:51of making sure the other person feels that you have good
- 4:56intentions, making sure that you are lifting them up and not
- 5:01deflating them. Because what's the point in
- 5:04that? It it just doesn't, it doesn't
- 5:06add to someone's life and it doesn't add the value.
- 5:09All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:13will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
