- 0:07Speaker 1: This is Chuck's Cantina podcast, where anything and everything is
- 0:13Speaker 1: up for discussion. And now here's your barman, Chuck O'Donnell?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Oh oh man, how am I gonna do this one?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Let's see you? I said last time, I was gonna
- 0:33Speaker 2: go away for a while, but then I went away
- 0:35Speaker 2: for a while and now I'm back. So do we
- 0:40Speaker 2: just go right into it and just start the show
- 0:42Speaker 2: or do we do one of those stupid movie monologues
- 0:44Speaker 2: where it's like, sometimes nowhere to go to the beginning,
- 0:48Speaker 2: you gotta start at the end. We start in the middle.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Now to start at the beginning. Welcome to Chuck's Gantina.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm your favorite bar man host. Whatever the hell you
- 0:59Speaker 2: want to wait, Chuck, yep, back for now. I'm kidding.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I am back. Thank you for joining us. Chuck. Where
- 1:06Speaker 2: have you been? Y ye? I'll get down in a second.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I think he's always Episode one nine five Trucks Scantina
- 1:14Speaker 2: on your social trucks anteena Gema dot com. You know
- 1:16Speaker 2: the rest truck Scantina. I backstage, wait, Nutch Nije, just
- 1:21Speaker 2: saying I'm available. You want to voice act? Do I
- 1:25Speaker 2: sound decent? It's been a minute also, I apologize. I
- 1:28Speaker 2: have done multiple tests with my microphone. We'll see how
- 1:31Speaker 2: this works after, of course, I record this podcast I edited.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I did do a little bit of edits. I also
- 1:36Speaker 2: done some recordings for like some Aldais and stuff like that.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But my dumb ass, because I've been doing some house
- 1:42Speaker 2: cleaning housekeeping, dropped my mic and one of the of course,
- 1:50Speaker 2: of course, you know, I use a yeah blue yetti mic.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I mean, I love it personally. I think it's a
- 1:56Speaker 2: very good mic. It's affordable. Uh, if you know how
- 1:58Speaker 2: to edit your audio, think like I do too, a
- 2:00Speaker 2: little bit like it doesn't take that much time to
- 2:02Speaker 2: like learn it as well. But like you know, you
- 2:04Speaker 2: don't need you don't need to have an expensive Michael
- 2:06Speaker 2: to do this stuff. But of course it I barely
- 2:10Speaker 2: I'm not joking Laser when I say this. I barely
- 2:14Speaker 2: just barely move my chair while I was moving some
- 2:18Speaker 2: stuff under my desk, because of course I have this
- 2:21Speaker 2: giant bin of stuff, all these boxes and things, and
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna have I'm gonna need all
- 2:27Speaker 2: these boxes, has all my computer equipment, all my ceial numbers,
- 2:31Speaker 2: et cetera, et cetera. When It's like, you know, Chuck,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you could just write them down on a piece of
- 2:35Speaker 2: paper or you know, on a file on your computer,
- 2:39Speaker 2: which I did, And I proceed to throw out one
- 2:41Speaker 2: box and think, oh, I'll be able to keep this bin. Yeah,
- 2:43Speaker 2: the entire bin is gone because I didn't need any
- 2:46Speaker 2: of that. So that was a great waste of space
- 2:47Speaker 2: for three years. Good job, Chuck. Anyway, where was I
- 2:51Speaker 2: going with that?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Not?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so barely moving, moving this bin, trying to
- 2:56Speaker 2: get all this shit cleaned down, stuff like that. That's right.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Drop the four word two minutes in, and of course
- 3:02Speaker 2: what happens. I barely, just barely tip like bump into
- 3:05Speaker 2: the chair, chair, rolls back, hits my desk. Now you think, Okay,
- 3:09Speaker 2: I have a pretty good sized office chair thanks to
- 3:12Speaker 2: my lovely wife, Hi babe. And just because you know,
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'm a pretty a bigger guy need a little bit
- 3:17Speaker 2: of a bigger office chair, you know. Not saying it's
- 3:20Speaker 2: like a not saying it's a chair for XCEL guys.
- 3:23Speaker 2: This isn't DXL Oh shit, sorry Shaggs. I just had
- 3:26Speaker 2: a company name. But I digress. I have a chair
- 3:28Speaker 2: from hold On Secret Lab. Great chairs don't recommend Ah shit,
- 3:34Speaker 2: I said another sponsor name, Hey, secret Lab needs some
- 3:36Speaker 2: voice acting, or you just want a sponsor. Let's talk
- 3:38Speaker 2: AnyWho barely tit the chair? So you think okay, chair
- 3:41Speaker 2: rolls back into the desk, doesn't ricochet fords. You think okay,
- 3:45Speaker 2: So there's really there's no room for the microphone, which
- 3:48Speaker 2: is a decent sized mic, for the microphone to fall forward,
- 3:52Speaker 2: fall in between said chair and said desk because the
- 3:55Speaker 2: chair doesn't have like a weird plastic backer. They go, No,
- 4:00Speaker 2: holy shit, that steered the shit out of me. A
- 4:03Speaker 2: lightsaber just turned on in my office without me pressing it.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I think I just crept my pants anyway, That really
- 4:14Speaker 2: scooed the shit up. Anyway, who nam up? Anyway, So
- 4:22Speaker 2: said microphone proceeds to hit the chair, or Cheer hits
- 4:27Speaker 2: the microphone. Cheer doesn't roll forward because I have a
- 4:29Speaker 2: carpet in my office, and the microphone proceeds to fall,
- 4:33Speaker 2: of all the ways it could fall, fall straight downward,
- 4:37Speaker 2: right on the very top where, of course you record,
- 4:42Speaker 2: not like the bottom of the microphone the stand is
- 4:44Speaker 2: heavier than the actual microphone itself, or like it's screwed in.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right. It is screwed in. So I
- 4:51Speaker 2: do apologize later on after this long monologue in me
- 4:55Speaker 2: shitting my pants if for any reason I did figuredively
- 5:00Speaker 2: of course, if for any reason this does sound weird,
- 5:03Speaker 2: I have done my best to try to edit this
- 5:05Speaker 2: audio obviously posts post production, but also I did some
- 5:09Speaker 2: tests prior, so get right into it. What are we drinking?
- 5:14Speaker 2: We are drinking Kirkland signature sparkling water grapefruit. I was
- 5:18Speaker 2: gonna have a bourbon tonight, but I have lots some
- 5:21Speaker 2: work to do after this podcast as well. And I'm
- 5:23Speaker 2: also having a little sweet myself, a dull dull whip mango.
- 5:28Speaker 2: If you know, you know, you can get these. I
- 5:32Speaker 2: don't know about any grocery store, but I got this
- 5:34Speaker 2: from a grocery store that requires a subscription, if you
- 5:37Speaker 2: know what I mean. I think it's pretty obvious. It's
- 5:40Speaker 2: really only two in the Midwestbot We're good, very good.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I'm definitely the whole thing on this podcast. One second,
- 5:53Speaker 2: don Yeah, I'm not done with it yet, not that fat.
- 5:56Speaker 2: On some scenaris really quick, I think of a shout out,
- 6:00Speaker 2: because let me get this, let me get this outlay
- 6:02Speaker 2: really quick. Last week the world lost. Definitely one of
- 6:10Speaker 2: the good ones. If you're a fan of Barstool, you
- 6:13Speaker 2: definitely have heard of him by now. His name was
- 6:17Speaker 2: Beef when he was from the four Play podcast. Some
- 6:21Speaker 2: of us knew him as code Man. I just mainly
- 6:24Speaker 2: knew him as Cody. Cody Frankie unfortunately passed away, not
- 6:29Speaker 2: this previous weekend, but the weekend prior due to a
- 6:31Speaker 2: subtle medical issue. Yeah, unfortunately I haven't Cody myself, haven't
- 6:39Speaker 2: talked in like a very long time. We have a
- 6:40Speaker 2: fun anything like that. It's, as I've said in the podcast,
- 6:42Speaker 2: sometimes people just go in different directions, you know, you
- 6:45Speaker 2: can connect to different people. But anytime I ever saw
- 6:47Speaker 2: Cody in any environments, there's any setting, Hector's one time
- 6:52Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, bumping the grocery store, nothing
- 6:55Speaker 2: but good vibes, quick handshake, big hug, hope you're doing well.
- 6:58Speaker 2: We were at a bachelor party together. God maybe pooh,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I want to say five years ago of a pandemic,
- 7:05Speaker 2: maybe seven years ago. And again it was nothing like like,
- 7:09Speaker 2: didn't miss a beat. And I genuinely mean this one
- 7:12Speaker 2: of the most kind hearted, genuine people you ever mean
- 7:15Speaker 2: your life. And unfortunately it just sucks because like I said,
- 7:19Speaker 2: it's like like, like why like legitimately one of the
- 7:22Speaker 2: good ones. No, I just I'll drop aside. This one
- 7:27Speaker 2: goes to Cody. It it sucks, like again, I haven't
- 7:30Speaker 2: talked to him in uh like seven eight years. Unfortunately,
- 7:35Speaker 2: we would, like I said, than bumble trop we'd send
- 7:36Speaker 2: to the like messages on socials, just like happy birthdays,
- 7:39Speaker 2: hope you're doing well and stuff like that. But yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 2: and uh, obviously he's in a better place now, obviously.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Go check out the stuff that he did on four play.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Go check out his awesome golf content he did on
- 7:53Speaker 2: his socials and stuff like that. I religious barstool beef
- 7:57Speaker 2: because it's so up, thankfully. But yeah, it just it's
- 8:01Speaker 2: one of those things that definitely hit me hard because,
- 8:03Speaker 2: like I said, while I haven't talked to me in
- 8:04Speaker 2: a long time, it just made me realize, like, look,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you have to doesn't matter if you're like myself or
- 8:10Speaker 2: you know, in my thirties, if you're in your twenties,
- 8:13Speaker 2: fifties or even eighties, like life's too short, don't hesitate.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Just pick up the phone. And again it texts. It's
- 8:20Speaker 2: so easy to talk to the problem is it's so
- 8:22Speaker 2: easy to talk to people today so quickly. But I
- 8:27Speaker 2: don't think people understand the graphs that hearing someone's voice
- 8:30Speaker 2: can have on your mentality. It can be I want
- 8:36Speaker 2: to say, life change. It's a huge difference. I mean,
- 8:38Speaker 2: we take for granted this thing we call life, but
- 8:40Speaker 2: also the fact that a simple text is just like okay,
- 8:43Speaker 2: it's just a quick text message, but like actually taking
- 8:45Speaker 2: the time, the breath to actually have a conversation with
- 8:48Speaker 2: someone where they're in person or over the phone. Heck,
- 8:51Speaker 2: even on here. I don't take any of the conversations
- 8:55Speaker 2: I have with any of my friends or even friends
- 8:56Speaker 2: of friends on things like discorder games I play for
- 8:59Speaker 2: great in it because it's always an experience, it's always
- 9:01Speaker 2: a good time point being pick up, don't do the text,
- 9:06Speaker 2: don't do the message. If anything, the only time you
- 9:10Speaker 2: should be doing the messages is messaging someone to get
- 9:12Speaker 2: their phone numbers, their contact information, pick up the phone,
- 9:15Speaker 2: call someone five minutes, ten minutes, two three hours. Why
- 9:22Speaker 2: not like those experiences are worth it? Because uh yeah,
- 9:27Speaker 2: like I said, I haven't talked to Cody in seven years,
- 9:29Speaker 2: but this one really really sucks. So this goes out
- 9:31Speaker 2: to Cody and obviously those really close to him, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 2: obviously my condolences and all those at bar still because yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: this one, this one sucked. It sucked pretty bad. It
- 9:42Speaker 2: still does suck. So but the point I'm trying to
- 9:45Speaker 2: make and like I said, I was talking with my
- 9:47Speaker 2: friend Justin. He hasn't been the show yet, but they
- 9:50Speaker 2: were very close and uh, you know, we're just texting
- 9:53Speaker 2: and like we both worked, like, hey, Storr, we just
- 9:55Speaker 2: haven't reached out, like both of us were saying that
- 9:57Speaker 2: because at the end of they unfortunately, yeah, like I
- 10:02Speaker 2: can't remember the exact quote the end of the movie, but
- 10:03Speaker 2: pretty much first people are pretty much like if you
- 10:05Speaker 2: don't you don't, just stop and just enjoyed the moment.
- 10:07Speaker 2: It's gonna pass you by, because unfortunately that life is
- 10:09Speaker 2: too short, and yeah, just pick up the phone, call someone,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and even if it doesn't go anywhere, you know what,
- 10:15Speaker 2: at least you could say to yourself, Hey, your pride,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I tried, you know, just just because you call someone
- 10:21Speaker 2: and maybe you don't have like I'm not gonna say,
- 10:23Speaker 2: like a good conversation but doesn't lead to anything. Just
- 10:26Speaker 2: catching up sometimes can be like really cool. You know.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I actually bumped into a guy played football within high
- 10:31Speaker 2: school right before I went to Europe, and literally like
- 10:36Speaker 2: him and I hadn't talked on like a few messages
- 10:38Speaker 2: here in over the last coup years, kind of like
- 10:39Speaker 2: Cody and I and a few messages here in like
- 10:41Speaker 2: last like ten years. Literally it's like we hadn't missed
- 10:44Speaker 2: a beat, you know, and we're talking like we don't like, hey,
- 10:47Speaker 2: we try to get a beer or something like that.
- 10:48Speaker 2: You know, just you know, life happens, you have we're adults,
- 10:51Speaker 2: we have responsibilities now and stuff like that too. But
- 10:54Speaker 2: just just the communication part, just talking over the phone
- 10:59Speaker 2: or just reac connecting, like honestly, it can be. It
- 11:01Speaker 2: can be life changing. I'm not afraid to say that.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So but yeah, once again, uh Rost and peace. Cody.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah that if even if you're not a fan of golf,
- 11:15Speaker 2: just go watch his content on his socials for play
- 11:19Speaker 2: Pod Barstool. It genuinely was some very entertaining stuff. Moving along, now,
- 11:25Speaker 2: where have I been?
- 11:26Speaker 1: So?
- 11:28Speaker 2: Yes, I was in Europe visiting my wife and I
- 11:31Speaker 2: did announcetand like the last podcast, I would be going
- 11:33Speaker 2: away for a little bit just doing that stuff, and yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 2: it was genuinely a good time. Excuse me one second
- 11:40Speaker 2: throws a little graspy, this is a great audio, but yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 2: it was genuinely a fun time. We did the october
- 11:49Speaker 2: Fest with our friends Chad, Kara and Shagsillo is also
- 11:53Speaker 2: there and Munich was definitely something different. I can definitely
- 11:59Speaker 2: say this. I'm very happy we got to do Octoberfest once.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Would I do it again? Probably not it. And again
- 12:08Speaker 2: it's just like one of those things where it's like,
- 12:09Speaker 2: you know, you just if you had the chance to
- 12:11Speaker 2: experience something, you gotta do it. Because even if I'm
- 12:14Speaker 2: not saying it wasn't a good experience, I generally enjoyed
- 12:15Speaker 2: my time. I had it with my wife and my
- 12:17Speaker 2: friends there. It's just I'm not a big actually not
- 12:21Speaker 2: even not even like a lot of us are not
- 12:22Speaker 2: really big drinkers. But like I'm not gonna lie to you,
- 12:26Speaker 2: that was a lot of beer. It was a lot
- 12:29Speaker 2: of beer. But it was definitely cool to be able
- 12:33Speaker 2: to like, you know, where are you know our leader
- 12:35Speaker 2: hoses and drindles. Well, all, let me be let me
- 12:39Speaker 2: be truthful here news they were leader hoses and drindles.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I were a leader hose in off Amazon because my
- 12:48Speaker 2: awesome wife did try to find one for my size.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Spoiler alert, we couldn't find one. The one we did
- 12:57Speaker 2: find for me we end up giving to our friend Chad,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and I am bigger than Chad, but it barely fit him.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And like we did all the measurements, and obviously the
- 13:07Speaker 2: leather is different than like cloth or whatever else or denim,
- 13:12Speaker 2: but like damn, like Chad was definitely doing a lot.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Was definitely waddled in a lot because, like I said,
- 13:20Speaker 2: that stuff was not easy to move in, although it
- 13:23Speaker 2: was easy to move in my fake cloth leader hosen.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So but yeah, no, definitely a great time. It's definitely
- 13:30Speaker 2: something to experience. I uh, I will say, like again,
- 13:37Speaker 2: I think for some of us it was like, you know,
- 13:39Speaker 2: in America, we take something for granted, like I was
- 13:41Speaker 2: saying earlier, like oh, hey, we can go to a
- 13:46Speaker 2: thing like Summerfest or Lallapalooza or Comic Con, and like
- 13:50Speaker 2: it's not like, yeah, there's obviously like the main thing
- 13:52Speaker 2: to do there. It's like, oh, hey, you go to
- 13:54Speaker 2: you go to Lallapalooza, what are you there for? Just
- 13:57Speaker 2: for the concert or like you go to Summerfest, what
- 13:59Speaker 2: is it there, It's like, oh yeah, it's assist but
- 14:00Speaker 2: like they have the concerts, but maybe they have like
- 14:03Speaker 2: other little activities or events going on. At least from
- 14:06Speaker 2: what we saw at Octoberfest, it was the beer halls,
- 14:11Speaker 2: little beer halls, a little carnival thing and that's it.
- 14:17Speaker 2: But actually, if anything, I actually did enjoy the fact
- 14:20Speaker 2: because I mean I can't speak before it because obviously
- 14:23Speaker 2: as the longer time me we've been in the Munich,
- 14:24Speaker 2: I feel like a lot of times people because of
- 14:27Speaker 2: how intense and how packed Octoberfest was, it kind of
- 14:33Speaker 2: left I'm not gonna say Munich empty, but like I
- 14:35Speaker 2: didn't feel over. I didn't feel like we were in
- 14:38Speaker 2: like a big crowd a majority of the time. Like sure,
- 14:40Speaker 2: we're in a major city in the country of Germany,
- 14:43Speaker 2: but it just wasn't as packed as I thought it
- 14:46Speaker 2: was gonna because obviously the majority of the crowd was
- 14:49Speaker 2: all at Octoberfest. I will say though, getting back, I
- 14:53Speaker 2: don't know why we did this. So you the quick breakdown.
- 14:56Speaker 2: We do october Fest. We go on a Thursday, like
- 15:00Speaker 2: in the middle afternoon, have fun, went to one little
- 15:03Speaker 2: I can't really name of the beers, I'm sorry, one
- 15:05Speaker 2: little like beer section. Had a couple of drinks. It
- 15:07Speaker 2: was fine. Then we got into the Hotspru House, you
- 15:11Speaker 2: know where you see all the videos where everyone's dancing
- 15:13Speaker 2: the tables and shit, we did that. We got a
- 15:16Speaker 2: table right when you walk in, so we were not
- 15:18Speaker 2: like in the little anything like that. Obviously, had a
- 15:22Speaker 2: couple beverages, and yeah, what happened happened, and I just
- 15:27Speaker 2: remember how funny it was. Like we were there for
- 15:28Speaker 2: maybe a note even an hour, and then they just
- 15:31Speaker 2: kicked ninety five percent of people out, which I can
- 15:35Speaker 2: appreciate because like, if you want to be able to
- 15:36Speaker 2: experience one of the houses, well you can't really have
- 15:39Speaker 2: a chance to if someone's just sitting there for eight
- 15:40Speaker 2: hours drinking nothing but beer. That was a lot of fun, though,
- 15:45Speaker 2: because being the experience that with my wife was great.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Of course I stood on the table, did a chug,
- 15:50Speaker 2: got at ovation for chugging. Of course, as I said before,
- 15:54Speaker 2: we sang Sad Jesus saying nothing but English music. I mean,
- 16:00Speaker 2: got Sweet Caroline was on there a couple of times. Hey,
- 16:03Speaker 2: Jude came, It's just like nothing but you know songs
- 16:06Speaker 2: that we all know, which is always funny. But yeah,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and it just it wasn't even just like exploring the
- 16:11Speaker 2: other parts of Munich, Like we explored some castles there.
- 16:15Speaker 2: We went to like a little beer garden outside the city.
- 16:17Speaker 2: It was within walking distance and like that was really cool.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And again it's always fun to go to these like
- 16:23Speaker 2: places like I don't have anything, I don't mean anything
- 16:27Speaker 2: against Munich. I just you never like you never hear
- 16:29Speaker 2: anyone talking about Munich. And I genuinely enjoyed it and
- 16:33Speaker 2: enjoyed it. Jesus, what's in this what's in the sparkling water?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Genuinely enjoyed. It was definitely a great time because just
- 16:42Speaker 2: like sometimes like those things you don't expect to like wow,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you you you end up being wow just by the
- 16:48Speaker 2: littlest things. One of the things we did do and
- 16:51Speaker 2: uh that my wife did a novelge job planning. We
- 16:55Speaker 2: went to the the she Swan Castle, the castle that
- 16:58Speaker 2: if if you've seen, if you've seen it, if you
- 17:01Speaker 2: looked at castles, you've seen it. It's that one that's
- 17:02Speaker 2: in the hill. It looks kind of small, but it's
- 17:05Speaker 2: not you siting on TikTok where people go stand on
- 17:06Speaker 2: the bridge and see the castle. So it's one of
- 17:09Speaker 2: the ones that inspire the Disney Castle and stuff like that.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It's like a two and a half hour bus ride
- 17:14Speaker 2: to get to there. Just the story behind that, the
- 17:18Speaker 2: King of you know or whatever, I forget what his
- 17:21Speaker 2: exact title was, just like the whole thing of like
- 17:25Speaker 2: how that castle was set up and we went to
- 17:27Speaker 2: like his summer little castle beach home, not I mean
- 17:29Speaker 2: a beach home. They can't like it's a cottage, like
- 17:32Speaker 2: some of the people. I'm like, it's not a cottage,
- 17:34Speaker 2: and like how we will And I here's the one
- 17:36Speaker 2: thing I gotta say, I appreciate really quick. Inside these
- 17:40Speaker 2: technically two castles we went into, they were very strict
- 17:44Speaker 2: and very straightforward. You cannot take photos, no cell phones, nothing.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You can have it on you, but you just can't
- 17:52Speaker 2: take no no, no photography, no media. And I appreciate
- 17:56Speaker 2: that because again, we take such we take for granted,
- 17:59Speaker 2: Like obviously obviously it's like cool to like have these photos,
- 18:02Speaker 2: these devices that like can take photos videos, especially like
- 18:06Speaker 2: really cool digital cameras, Like like that's cool, and like
- 18:09Speaker 2: since my wife got her camera last Christmas. Just the
- 18:14Speaker 2: amount of like passion and I even just heard that myself.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I've had like in taking photos of that camera. It's
- 18:19Speaker 2: really been something genuinely exciting to do. But it's like
- 18:24Speaker 2: I I like see like you'll see like those like
- 18:26Speaker 2: funny memes or videos on like social media like TikTok
- 18:29Speaker 2: where you know they clearly like we did the same
- 18:32Speaker 2: thing in our wedding. Please don't don't use your phone.
- 18:35Speaker 2: We're really paying for ptographers to do this. Now. What
- 18:38Speaker 2: we did was smart, which was my wife's idea, and
- 18:41Speaker 2: also are awesome efficient Lea which she's a friend she
- 18:44Speaker 2: ordered the wedding, not efficient she ordered. She was just
- 18:46Speaker 2: a friend ordaing the wedding. I mean, tell her she's
- 18:49Speaker 2: an efficient I don't know. I'm not even drunk yet, Jesus,
- 18:51Speaker 2: not even drinking at all. We let everyone take photos
- 18:55Speaker 2: of it. Was just standing there for like a minute
- 18:57Speaker 2: before we actually started the sermer, which is smart. Like
- 18:59Speaker 2: you see those videos like where people were like, you know,
- 19:01Speaker 2: there's like the mom or like the older ladies. She's
- 19:03Speaker 2: like sitting there like recording the thing like on her phone,
- 19:06Speaker 2: and it's like, who's gonna see that? Like why, Like no,
- 19:09Speaker 2: it's I think we get we can. And I just
- 19:11Speaker 2: remember us being that castle, those castles. I vividly remember
- 19:18Speaker 2: insane details of like the like the stuff on the walls,
- 19:23Speaker 2: the gold, the gold up not marbling, whatever you call it,
- 19:26Speaker 2: like the gold like, uh god, what framing I forget
- 19:30Speaker 2: what trim Jesus Christ? The gold trim framing the gold
- 19:34Speaker 2: I mean yeah, tically framing gold trim, like on the
- 19:36Speaker 2: walls in the corners, like like all the comments that
- 19:39Speaker 2: Drew and I were making, or Chad and I were making,
- 19:41Speaker 2: just like what the fuck? What the fuck is this?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Like it's just just such wild stuff. And I feel
- 19:46Speaker 2: like we probably take for granted some of that stuff
- 19:48Speaker 2: when we don't or we're just taking a quick photo
- 19:50Speaker 2: on her phone because like, yeah, like you might take
- 19:51Speaker 2: a photo. You might be you might go like to
- 19:53Speaker 2: like a museum and you're taking photos and videos on
- 19:56Speaker 2: your phone, and maybe you're going through it later like
- 19:58Speaker 2: six months and then you see a funny go oh wow,
- 20:00Speaker 2: that's cool. Where'd I get that from? It's where did
- 20:02Speaker 2: I take that photo? It's like you took a museum.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Like again, how many times have you heard someone say
- 20:07Speaker 2: I know, I haven't seen this photo or I don't
- 20:09Speaker 2: remember this photo. It's like how, But again, it's because
- 20:14Speaker 2: we take the stuff we have for granted, not in
- 20:17Speaker 2: a bad way, it's just it's just it's just part
- 20:19Speaker 2: of human nature and society now. So but no, that
- 20:23Speaker 2: was really cool. And then just like the story, I
- 20:27Speaker 2: want to get too deep into the story about like
- 20:30Speaker 2: the kid with that castle and stuff like that, it's
- 20:33Speaker 2: just funny, like how without saying anything, they pretty much
- 20:35Speaker 2: said like, yeah, this is what. They just came dead
- 20:37Speaker 2: on his weekend and stuff like that because he had
- 20:38Speaker 2: this little, like I said, little summer king or King
- 20:42Speaker 2: Jesus summer castle, which was like I mean, it was
- 20:44Speaker 2: like it was a little again, it wasn't like a castle,
- 20:47Speaker 2: just look like a giant I think, like a giant house.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It was like it looked like a like a two
- 20:51Speaker 2: three like a two story house in today's age. Obviously
- 20:54Speaker 2: inside is decked with gold. But it's just like no
- 20:58Speaker 2: one was allowed in here. I just like, like, guy
- 21:00Speaker 2: like this privacy except at night. Actually no, not actually
- 21:04Speaker 2: at night because he was very sense of against light,
- 21:07Speaker 2: so he's always up at night. See that I remember,
- 21:09Speaker 2: because we just thought we talked about that. That's a
- 21:11Speaker 2: little random of fact. I remember that he was always
- 21:13Speaker 2: up night. He was nocturnal. It's like a pat And
- 21:18Speaker 2: after that, uh, myself, my wife and check Zuila went
- 21:21Speaker 2: to Austria, Vienna Veen. That was fun. Got to do
- 21:28Speaker 2: the oldest zoo in the world, which that was really cool,
- 21:33Speaker 2: got to explore some castles, some monuments, got to see
- 21:38Speaker 2: the library that inspired The Beauty and the Beast, which
- 21:41Speaker 2: was really cool. And again that's just the thing like
- 21:46Speaker 2: I've never I'll definitely give it to my dad. Credit
- 21:48Speaker 2: to my dad because of my dad. I'm not saying
- 21:50Speaker 2: I'm a history buff, but I'm very interested in the
- 21:52Speaker 2: history anything else to do with like any of the
- 21:54Speaker 2: World Wars. I've always been interested in to a point.
- 21:58Speaker 2: But then like like when my wife and I went
- 22:00Speaker 2: and visited the uh you know, Omaha Beach and stuff
- 22:03Speaker 2: like that. But I've definitely grown an interest in visiting
- 22:07Speaker 2: these places, but also like not even just visiting like
- 22:09Speaker 2: the places that were like essentially where there was a wars,
- 22:11Speaker 2: of the surrounding areas, like the monuments, the just learning
- 22:15Speaker 2: about the history of just like not just like, oh,
- 22:17Speaker 2: here's how this place was affected by the war. It's like,
- 22:20Speaker 2: oh no, here's like that just the history of this
- 22:22Speaker 2: place in general, which is really cool because considering, oh
- 22:29Speaker 2: it's good, considering the amount of fortunate of like bombs
- 22:34Speaker 2: and battles that took place in Europe, because I think
- 22:39Speaker 2: people definitely take Europe's side for granted. They don't they
- 22:42Speaker 2: think it's as large. It really isn't if I'm not,
- 22:46Speaker 2: I think the United States is big, like it's like,
- 22:47Speaker 2: it's not, It's not really that big. And considering like
- 22:50Speaker 2: the amount of battles and bombs and all the stuff
- 22:53Speaker 2: that happened in Europe, especially with both world wars, think
- 22:55Speaker 2: a lot of stuff did get damages, but thankfully a
- 22:57Speaker 2: lot of stuff did not, which is kind of shocking
- 23:00Speaker 2: to say. In a good thing too. So yeah, that
- 23:03Speaker 2: was obviously uh oh, that was a lot of fun.
- 23:08Speaker 2: One other things too. You had to definitely ate good food,
- 23:11Speaker 2: got to trade some vena, not try some veener schnitzel.
- 23:14Speaker 2: We've had I've had that plenty of times. We went
- 23:16Speaker 2: to this point place and I camera in the name
- 23:19Speaker 2: of it great podcast Chuck that supposedly has the oldest
- 23:23Speaker 2: veener schnitzle in the world or Austria and was phenomenal.
- 23:28Speaker 2: And again, just what I would just say is like, yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 2: just go travel, just go, just go do it, like
- 23:35Speaker 2: why not like you don't yeah, obviously, yeah, we all
- 23:38Speaker 2: like to travel across the country world and do something
- 23:40Speaker 2: like don't just simply like where I live, like getting
- 23:43Speaker 2: your car, like just go down a weekend, go drive
- 23:45Speaker 2: five hours south. Why not wake up at five am,
- 23:50Speaker 2: make some coffee, make it a quick omelet something like that.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I mean, I don't make commelets something like that. Dry
- 23:55Speaker 2: five hours south together by we'll say what new and delays,
- 23:58Speaker 2: we stop and get some gas and some food maybe
- 24:02Speaker 2: just enjoy the day and like like again, I think
- 24:05Speaker 2: it's the thing too, is like a lot of us
- 24:06Speaker 2: and I'm I'm definitely guilty of this as well. A
- 24:09Speaker 2: lot of us in life don't take risk, which we
- 24:11Speaker 2: should because again we definitely e've all heard risk. The
- 24:14Speaker 2: risk is worth the reward. What's the rescue? You drive
- 24:17Speaker 2: something you've never been to before, you don't like it, Okay, great,
- 24:20Speaker 2: at least you tried, or you could have this life
- 24:25Speaker 2: changing experience. Perfect example. I'm not saying I didn't think
- 24:30Speaker 2: it would be that cool. I didn't think I was.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I didn't think I did not think I would enjoy
- 24:34Speaker 2: it Paris as much as I enjoyed it, I can
- 24:38Speaker 2: proudly say Paris was easily one of the coolest places
- 24:43Speaker 2: I have ever been to my entire life. And it's
- 24:49Speaker 2: one of those places where you go, for at least
- 24:52Speaker 2: for me, where you a. I don't think I can
- 24:53Speaker 2: speak for my wife fir too. You go there once
- 24:56Speaker 2: and like it's like, okay, cool, we cross that place
- 24:58Speaker 2: off the list you want to move you you essentially
- 25:03Speaker 2: start going, Okay, where should we go next? It's like, well,
- 25:05Speaker 2: hold on, we didn't get to do all of it yet,
- 25:08Speaker 2: let's go back. Overall. The point I'm just trying to
- 25:11Speaker 2: make is just not an I'm not gonna say just travel,
- 25:14Speaker 2: just try new things, because, like I said, like I've
- 25:19Speaker 2: I've been beyond fortunate to be able to go travel
- 25:22Speaker 2: these places with my wife thankfully because of you know,
- 25:25Speaker 2: the opportunities she took with her work assignment. But just
- 25:31Speaker 2: trying new things can just again, like there's half the
- 25:34Speaker 2: time just trying something new you can be more exciting
- 25:36Speaker 2: thing itself. Uh. For example, like I said, I'm pursuing
- 25:41Speaker 2: voice acting, and like the few auditions I've done, the
- 25:46Speaker 2: classes I've taken, it has genuinely been some of the
- 25:48Speaker 2: most exciting things I've done in yours. I recently started
- 25:51Speaker 2: reading comic books I've read I used to read someone
- 25:55Speaker 2: when I was a kid, and I picked up a
- 25:57Speaker 2: few just as like, hey, let me try it. If
- 26:01Speaker 2: you're not even like into like superheroes, but I you've
- 26:05Speaker 2: just been like in the culture, like if you just have,
- 26:08Speaker 2: if you have, if you just keep your pulse, like
- 26:10Speaker 2: you know, finger on the pulse of culture, like they're
- 26:12Speaker 2: kind of coming back in a way with the absolute
- 26:15Speaker 2: like DC stuff, and I just I haven't read it yet,
- 26:21Speaker 2: I have it or I have one of them rather
- 26:23Speaker 2: but like I just read two comic books the other day,
- 26:25Speaker 2: and like I just genuinely or just I was just
- 26:28Speaker 2: hooked instantly. And part of I think also just has
- 26:30Speaker 2: to do with I've also been reading the Fourth Wing books,
- 26:33Speaker 2: which I could not tie the last time I read
- 26:37Speaker 2: a book. It's been a long time, and I genuinely,
- 26:41Speaker 2: genuinely do enjoy those books, which I have to it
- 26:44Speaker 2: to be way too long to read Iron Flame, as
- 26:47Speaker 2: my wife likes to say, which again makes all sense.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I could not put uh Fourth Waye down. I could
- 26:53Speaker 2: have put it down. I read that book I think
- 26:55Speaker 2: like a week and a half, and Iron Flame took
- 26:57Speaker 2: it like three months. I don't know what I couldn't.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I just couldn't get into it as much as the
- 27:02Speaker 2: first one. Read a first couple, read the first couple
- 27:05Speaker 2: chapters of on ex Storm, and I'm already enjoying that
- 27:08Speaker 2: one a lot more than Iron Flame. I don't know why.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I don't know why, but yeah, just try something new.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Why not? If you think you're a I mean, I
- 27:20Speaker 2: think I'm a funny. I don't think I'm not that funny.
- 27:22Speaker 2: If you think you're hilarious, go try open Mike. Why not.
- 27:25Speaker 2: If you think you can draw, go draw? Why not
- 27:29Speaker 2: fucking try it? I think we need to. I think
- 27:34Speaker 2: we need to, uh or not even try it? Just
- 27:37Speaker 2: do it? Do or do not? Man? Because, like I said,
- 27:40Speaker 2: especially with some things I've happened recently, like it's me
- 27:42Speaker 2: realize that, Yeah, life is way too short and I
- 27:46Speaker 2: need to be better about doing the things that I love,
- 27:49Speaker 2: and one of them is this podcast. So thank you
- 27:52Speaker 2: all for your patients. There might be breaks from here
- 27:55Speaker 2: to here and here. It's not only for like extreme
- 27:57Speaker 2: circuits like going to as it my wife in Europe,
- 28:00Speaker 2: maybe we're gone for a winner or something like that.
- 28:02Speaker 2: But this is something I definitely want to keep, uh
- 28:05Speaker 2: continuing to do it because I genuinely do enjoy creating
- 28:08Speaker 2: this content. And like I said, even if it only
- 28:11Speaker 2: there's five people, six people that listen, there's where it's
- 28:14Speaker 2: been fifty people. To me, it doesn't matter. I am
- 28:17Speaker 2: genuinely I genuinely do love this platform that I put
- 28:21Speaker 2: or that I use to create content and just speak
- 28:24Speaker 2: my mind or have guests come on and help them
- 28:27Speaker 2: plug their stuff or vice versa, just have a quick conversation.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I do want to take it more towards them, not
- 28:35Speaker 2: gonna say the interviewee type aspect. I know with some
- 28:38Speaker 2: people we've had on or it hasn't always been like that,
- 28:40Speaker 2: but just genuinely just like having just fun, genuine conversations
- 28:43Speaker 2: where it's like again there's none a microphone in the
- 28:45Speaker 2: room and you're getting our genuine reactions, emotions, conversations without
- 28:51Speaker 2: getting political and all that stuff. Because like I said,
- 28:53Speaker 2: like I know, I've had a few words sometimes that
- 28:54Speaker 2: comes up and I if anything, the real. Maybe like,
- 28:57Speaker 2: let's no, let's not fucking do that. Let's stupid who cares? Like, No,
- 29:03Speaker 2: let's let's make Arnold Schwarzingerranny sa have a certain noise
- 29:05Speaker 2: for half an hour because to me, that's more entertaining. Then, Oh,
- 29:09Speaker 2: where are you leaning towards today? Yeah? But whatever, I'm sorry.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I'm like, the arm of my hair is still up
- 29:19Speaker 2: from like the lightsabers turning on because it wasn't just one,
- 29:22Speaker 2: it was two because one of them was lit up
- 29:24Speaker 2: and I had de pause it to go, uh to
- 29:28Speaker 2: go turn it off, so low created out by that.
- 29:32Speaker 2: It's never happened before. Photosclosure in order to turn him on.
- 29:36Speaker 2: It's not like a bun, it's like a it's an
- 29:38Speaker 2: actual switch. You have to switch on. So I didn't
- 29:42Speaker 2: hear him click, but you have to be the kind
- 29:44Speaker 2: of close to hear it click, like to switch to click.
- 29:46Speaker 2: But the fact they both turned on look creepy. So
- 29:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna leave my house and I'm gonna go to
- 29:54Speaker 2: the sawn up so at any rate, I'm gonna get
- 29:59Speaker 2: out of here. But uh yeah, just try new things.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Take risk. Heck, take a risk. Pick up the phone
- 30:07Speaker 2: and call someone that's what you get. To pick up
- 30:09Speaker 2: the phone, talk call someone even talk to in five years. Hell,
- 30:12Speaker 2: if that person you call and it's a new phone number,
- 30:15Speaker 2: talk to that person. Why not either you meet someone
- 30:21Speaker 2: new or you have a phony story to tell out
- 30:22Speaker 2: of it. So, as always thinking you were joining us
- 30:26Speaker 2: this week, you can find us at Chucks Canteita on
- 30:29Speaker 2: your socials, Chuckscantina at gmail dot com. You can find
- 30:33Speaker 2: pretty much me at anything Chucks Cantina, including on backstage. Yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 2: this one again goes out to Beef as well as
- 30:44Speaker 2: og Patron. Your grandfather also unfortunately passed away recently. But again,
- 30:50Speaker 2: just pick up the phone call and say hello. Don't
- 30:55Speaker 2: take anything in life for granted and more only just
- 30:58Speaker 2: have fun. It's all about
