- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get back
- 0:05Speaker 1: to the Hillary Clinton transcript from her trip to Congress.
- 0:10Speaker 1: And we're going to pick up with Nancy Mace asking
- 0:12Speaker 1: the questions. Nancy Mace. Opening remarks, you mentioned this is
- 0:18Speaker 1: a political theater and partisan. Do you believe the Epstein
- 0:21Speaker 1: files are a vast right-wing conspiracy? Answer, I think that
- 0:24Speaker 1: if they're fully released... As the Transparency Act requires, that
- 0:28Speaker 1: would be fulfilling the responsibility of the Justice Department, but
- 0:31Speaker 1: it appears that there may have been issues with the
- 0:34Speaker 1: full release, so I'm not going to characterize it other
- 0:37Speaker 1: than to say I think that's a well-known fact. Question,
- 0:41Speaker 1: are you aware that Republicans and Democrats voted to subpoena
- 0:44Speaker 1: you and your husband? Clinton, I'm here. Question, okay, are
- 0:49Speaker 1: you aware that both Republicans and Democrats voted to hold
- 0:52Speaker 1: you in contempt when you didn't show up? Answer, I'm here. Question,
- 0:56Speaker 1: is that partisan? When both parties vote to do something together,
- 1:00Speaker 1: is that partisan or non-partisan? Answer, I think it's standing
- 1:04Speaker 1: up for the institution, but there are many other aspects
- 1:06Speaker 1: of the committee's work that strikes me as avoiding the
- 1:09Speaker 1: main issue about who should be sitting here. Who has
- 1:12Speaker 1: actual information that might be useful to your investigation? Nancy Mace,
- 1:16Speaker 1: as a survivor, I'm a survivor, I appreciated your opening statement.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And you're prioritizing some of these issues. Have you always
- 1:24Speaker 1: believed this way? Have you always believed this way for
- 1:26Speaker 1: some time? Answer, have I what? Question, have you believed
- 1:31Speaker 1: that you believed in your opening statement for some time? Answer, yes,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I have. Question, how long have you had those beliefs
- 1:38Speaker 1: or held those beliefs in your opening statement? Answer, very long. Question,
- 1:42Speaker 1: in 1998, you had those same beliefs? Answer, yes. Question, 2005. Answer, yes. Question, 2008. Answer, yes. 2012? Answer, sure. 2016? Answer, uh-huh.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Question 2020? Answer, uh-huh. Question 2024, the present day? You
- 2:03Speaker 1: have held these beliefs the whole time? Answer, yes, I have. Question,
- 2:07Speaker 1: have you always believed that women abused by powerful men
- 2:10Speaker 1: should be believed? Answer, I know where you're going with this.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, do you? Answer, and I have nothing to
- 2:18Speaker 1: say about anything in the past. I'm here to answer
- 2:21Speaker 1: questions about this investigation. Question, so do you believe that
- 2:25Speaker 1: women who are abused by Epstein and the Epstein Circle
- 2:27Speaker 1: of Associates should be believed? Answer, I think that many
- 2:31Speaker 1: of them have made very credible accusations. Question, do you
- 2:35Speaker 1: think that women abused by powerful men should get justice? Answer,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I think that they should have their time to be evaluated.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And where there is adequate evidence, they should certainly get justice,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and the perpetrators should be held to account. Question, the
- 2:49Speaker 1: question was, have you always thought that women abused by
- 2:52Speaker 1: powerful men should get justice? Answer, yes, absolutely. Question, I agree. Well,
- 2:58Speaker 1: you're aware, I think you said this earlier, that Jeffrey
- 3:00Speaker 1: Epstein was convicted in 2008 of procuring a child for
- 3:04Speaker 1: prostitution and soliciting a prostitute, correct? Answer, that's what the
- 3:09Speaker 1: charges were, yes. Question, and you were aware of that
- 3:12Speaker 1: in 2008? Answer, I don't recall that I was aware
- 3:14Speaker 1: of that then. Question, and in 2008, you were a U.S.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Senator still? Answer, I was. Question, would you say that
- 3:22Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was one of the world's most prolific sex traffickers? Answer,
- 3:28Speaker 1: from what we know, he certainly engaged in his predatory
- 3:30Speaker 1: activities for a long period of time. Nancy Mace, would
- 3:33Speaker 1: you say he's one of the world's most prolific sex traffickers? Answer,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I don't know what to compare it to. There are
- 3:39Speaker 1: terrible sex trafficking rings all over the world. Questioning you said,
- 3:44Speaker 1: you were Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, and
- 3:48Speaker 1: your state agency prioritized combating sex trafficking internationally, correct? Answer,
- 3:53Speaker 1: that's correct. Question, during your time as Secretary of State,
- 3:57Speaker 1: did you or the state receive any intelligence, cables, or
- 4:00Speaker 1: briefings mentioning Epstein's foreign travel, pedophile island, or his network
- 4:04Speaker 1: of pedophiles and sex trafficking? Not that I'm aware of, no. Question,
- 4:10Speaker 1: how did you miss it? If he's, I believe, one
- 4:13Speaker 1: of the most prolific sex traffickers in the world, you
- 4:17Speaker 1: were Secretary of State, how did you miss it? Answer, well,
- 4:20Speaker 1: that would have been a matter for the Justice Department,
- 4:22Speaker 1: not the State Department. Question, but in your opening statement,
- 4:27Speaker 1: earlier in your opening statement, you stated that Secretary Rubio
- 4:31Speaker 1: should be called to testify, and you said that he has,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and the administration has, quote, abandoned survivors. Using the same logic,
- 4:38Speaker 1: you were Secretary of State during a time period after
- 4:41Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was convicted for being a pedophile and soliciting
- 4:44Speaker 1: children for sex. Why then did you, quote, using your
- 4:48Speaker 1: own logic, abandon survivors? Chairman Comer, what was the question, please?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Hillary Clinton, I followed her comment. First of all, we
- 4:57Speaker 1: focused on whether there were laws that made sex trafficking,
- 5:01Speaker 1: sexual slavery, domestic violence, other abuses of women on the
- 5:04Speaker 1: books in countries, and then we tried to evaluate where
- 5:08Speaker 1: those laws being implemented and where judges appropriately trained and
- 5:12Speaker 1: briefed about how to implement those laws. Were governments taking
- 5:15Speaker 1: them seriously? We looked at the broad institutional approach to
- 5:19Speaker 1: these very serious abuses. Question, would you say that the
- 5:23Speaker 1: US government at the time, during this time period, was
- 5:26Speaker 1: appropriate with the way that it handled Epstein? Answer, I
- 5:30Speaker 1: don't think you could say that was true about any
- 5:32Speaker 1: of the government's prosecutorial efforts, starting with the Southern District
- 5:35Speaker 1: of Florida and Alex Acosta and all of those who
- 5:38Speaker 1: basically gave him a sweetheart deal. And then, I think
- 5:42Speaker 1: going up the chain, there was very little attention paid. Wow.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Could this lady be any more wrong? Main Justice okayed it, Hillary,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and she knows that. Question, so it should have been
- 5:57Speaker 1: a priority. Answer, that should have been paid. But we
- 6:01Speaker 1: had laws on the books. They were not being implemented,
- 6:04Speaker 1: but that was not within my purview, because what we
- 6:07Speaker 1: were looking at is what the institutional structure, and can
- 6:11Speaker 1: we do more to make sure countries take it seriously?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Our country had laws on the books. This man was
- 6:17Speaker 1: not held to account. Question, it was not in your
- 6:20Speaker 1: purview when you were Secretary of State, then why is
- 6:23Speaker 1: it today in Secretary Rubio's purview? Answer, because what's happened
- 6:28Speaker 1: in that office... that was actually following what was going
- 6:32Speaker 1: around the world has been decimated. 70% of the staff
- 6:36Speaker 1: has gone. It's impossible to carry out the functions of
- 6:39Speaker 1: that office if you don't have a critical number of people.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So my question would be of Secretary Rubio, is there
- 6:45Speaker 1: more that can be done? Question, I'm running out of
- 6:48Speaker 1: time here. You are clothed with immense power. As Secretary
- 6:52Speaker 1: of State, you've stated on the record in your opening
- 6:54Speaker 1: statement that child sex trafficking, sex trafficking in general, human trafficking...
- 7:00Speaker 1: Trafficking of all kinds was a priority. You were clothed
- 7:03Speaker 1: with immense power. Your husband was clothed with immense power.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And until you got this subpoena, and until these files
- 7:10Speaker 1: were out in the open, you did nothing to try
- 7:12Speaker 1: to effectuate all of those things you say that should
- 7:14Speaker 1: have been done. Is that correct? Answer, no, it's totally incorrect.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I mean, all of your assumptions are ones that I reject. Question,
- 7:22Speaker 1: when you saw the photos of your husband in a
- 7:24Speaker 1: hot tub, laying on a beach and getting massaged by
- 7:26Speaker 1: other women, and you knew that Jeffrey Epstein was involved,
- 7:29Speaker 1: In some of these trips and these flights, did it
- 7:32Speaker 1: concern you at all? Answer. I'm here to offer my opinions.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm here to answer specific questions to the best of
- 7:38Speaker 1: my ability. Question. When you saw your husband in these
- 7:41Speaker 1: photos with a young woman being massaged, what went through
- 7:44Speaker 1: your mind? Answer. I'm not going to speculate. Question. You
- 7:49Speaker 1: didn't have any feelings about young women massaging your husband? Answer.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'm not going to offer opinions or speculation about anything
- 7:56Speaker 1: that I have no context for and was not there. Question.
- 8:00Speaker 1: After you learned that Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of a
- 8:02Speaker 1: sex crime, sex crimes with kids, any of these photos
- 8:05Speaker 1: of your husband with women being massaged on the beach,
- 8:07Speaker 1: did it concern you? Answer, I have no context for
- 8:11Speaker 1: even answering that question. And I think obviously the innuendo,
- 8:15Speaker 1: all the rest of it, Nancy Mace, I'm asking a
- 8:17Speaker 1: black and white question. I'm not putting any leading statements
- 8:20Speaker 1: into it or adjectives. Did you do anything to determine
- 8:25Speaker 1: what was happening in those images or on those trips?
- 8:28Speaker 1: Once you saw these photos, once you realized Jeffrey Epstein
- 8:31Speaker 1: was a convicted sex offender of children, did you do
- 8:34Speaker 1: anything to determine what was happening on these trips with
- 8:36Speaker 1: your husband? Answer, I don't find any of your questions
- 8:39Speaker 1: to be relevant to the investigation. Question, well, it's relevant
- 8:44Speaker 1: that a former president was traveling around with young women. Answer, well,
- 8:48Speaker 1: you'll have a chance to ask him tomorrow. Question, you
- 8:50Speaker 1: said this morning you did not solicit funds from Jeffrey Epstein. Answer,
- 8:55Speaker 1: that's absolutely correct. Question, did anyone solicit funds from Jeffrey
- 8:59Speaker 1: Epstein on your behalf? Answer, not that I'm aware of. Question,
- 9:03Speaker 1: did you ever invite Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell to
- 9:06Speaker 1: any of your political fundraisers? Answer, I did not personally
- 9:09Speaker 1: invite them to my political fundraisers. Question, did anyone else
- 9:13Speaker 1: invite them on your behalf? Answer, I don't know. Question,
- 9:17Speaker 1: is the purpose of a political fundraiser to solicit funds? Answer,
- 9:22Speaker 1: you would know what it is. Question, okay. And you
- 9:24Speaker 1: stated this morning, you've never communicated with Sarah Kay, right? Answer,
- 9:30Speaker 1: I don't know who Sarah Kay is. Question, okay, she's
- 9:33Speaker 1: a councilwoman from New Rochelle, which is about how many
- 9:35Speaker 1: miles from here? Answer, not very far away. Mace, 20, 25. Clinton,
- 9:41Speaker 1: I have no idea. Question, I have an exhibit I
- 9:44Speaker 1: would like to enter. This is an email dated September 30th, 2014.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Am I allowed to enter an exhibit? Speaker 3. Yes, ma'am.
- 9:53Speaker 1: This will be Exhibit 13. I believe Majority Exhibit 13. Question. Okay.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It's from September 30th 2014. The lawyer jumps in for Clinton.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Can you please provide the witness with a copy? So
- 10:08Speaker 1: they get everybody a copy. Mace asking questions again. And
- 10:12Speaker 1: can you read me the subject line of the email? Clinton.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Following up. Event with Hillary Clinton. And Congresswoman Lowey. Question,
- 10:20Speaker 1: do you know who Congresswoman Lowy is? Answer, she was
- 10:23Speaker 1: our Congresswoman here for many years. Question, who's the email from? Answer,
- 10:27Speaker 1: someone named Sarah Kay. Question above that, oh, you have
- 10:30Speaker 1: that very top one? Okay, all right, from Sarah Kay.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And it's redacted on who it was sent to. Can
- 10:36Speaker 1: you read the email to me? Answer, okay, thank you
- 10:40Speaker 1: very much for the prompt reply. Hi, Sarah, thank you
- 10:43Speaker 1: for the invitation. But unfortunately, Jeffrey will not be able
- 10:46Speaker 1: to attend. Thank you so much for speaking with me
- 10:48Speaker 1: just now. Attached, please find the invitation and response card
- 10:52Speaker 1: for the event we spoke about with Hillary Clinton and
- 10:55Speaker 1: Congresswoman Lowy at the Harvard Club. That was a fundraiser,
- 10:58Speaker 1: I believe, for Congresswoman Lowy that I attended to support
- 11:01Speaker 1: her is my recollection. Question, okay, and this was an email.
- 11:06Speaker 1: This is an invitation to the fundraiser where you were there. Answer,
- 11:11Speaker 1: do you have any idea if the Epstein referred to
- 11:13Speaker 1: in this, the Jeffrey Epstein? There's a lot of people. Named,
- 11:17Speaker 1: Epstein in this area. Question, this is in the DOJ files. Answer,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I have no knowledge of it. Comer, and it says Mr.
- 11:25Speaker 1: and Mrs. Epstein. Clinton, I have no knowledge of this. Question, okay,
- 11:30Speaker 1: so it could be a different Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton, you're
- 11:33Speaker 1: showing me an email from someone who I don't recall
- 11:35Speaker 1: knowing about a fundraiser that wasn't for me, but was
- 11:38Speaker 1: for Congresswoman Lowy. I have no information. I went to
- 11:41Speaker 1: the fundraiser to support my friend, Nita Lowy. Nancy Mace,
- 11:45Speaker 1: all right. Lawyer jumps in. Excuse me, can I interrupt?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Nancy Mace, I have another. Lawyer. They are the photos
- 11:53Speaker 1: that are being released of the secretary as she's testifying
- 11:56Speaker 1: from inside this room. Can you please advise me as
- 11:58Speaker 1: to whether or not that's permissible and consistent with the rules,
- 12:02Speaker 1: particularly given that we have asked for a public hearing?
- 12:05Speaker 1: If there are photos that are being released of the
- 12:07Speaker 1: secretary as she's testifying, can you please explain how that
- 12:10Speaker 1: can concur? Answer. I'm done with this. Hillary Clinton, if
- 12:14Speaker 1: you guys are doing that, I'm done. You can hold
- 12:16Speaker 1: me in contempt from now until the cows come home.
- 12:19Speaker 1: This is just typical behavior. We'll go off record. Alright folks,
- 12:23Speaker 1: so we're going to wrap up right here too. In
- 12:25Speaker 1: the next episode dealing with the topic, we'll pick up
- 12:28Speaker 1: where we left off. All the information that goes with
- 12:31Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box.
