- 0:41The f a, hey're looking to today's show. We'll pick up where we
- 1:03lift off yesterday. The questioner in radio replies continues to ask the priests really
- 1:08about the differences between Protestantism and Catholicism, and you know why they say that
- 1:15Catholicism is superior. And the person says, but a reformed church is not
- 1:21a new church. Now, this is the person who has had said that
- 1:23Protestantism, this is a previous question, is not a protest against Christ,
- 1:27but against the Roman Church. As if there was a Christianity separate from Catholicism
- 1:34before Protestantism, and as if there could be afterwards. Well there's not.
- 1:41They say, Protestantism is not a true reformation of the Church. The identity
- 1:48of the church is indissolubly lengthd with a continuous identity of doctrine, worship,
- 1:53and discipline. The so called Reformation involved the abolition of essential doctrines, worship
- 2:01and discipline, substituting completely different and humanly invented alternatives. Person says the prist
- 2:08and churches have as much right to say they have the truth as the churches
- 2:14of Corinth, Ephesians, Colossians, etc. In early times, and they
- 2:19answer, you are supposing that proestant churches have the same doctrine, worship and
- 2:23discipline as those early churches. But this is an unwarranted supposition. Those early
- 2:29branch foundations of the One True Church had true doctrine and were in communion with
- 2:35Saint Peter, Bishop of Rome, who addressed his First Epistle to the Galatians
- 2:39and several other churches. Proestant churches do not hold the same doctrine as those
- 2:45early churches, nor do they acknowledge the same obedience. Also, in all
- 2:50countries where Protestant churches exist, there exists also the Catholic Church, which corresponds
- 2:55exactly to the churches of Corinth, Ephesians and Colopisrussians. Very true. I
- 3:01mentioned yesterday that recently, you know, some King James Baptists was on I
- 3:07don't remember if it was Twitter or another site saying that you know, those
- 3:14churches, the Ephesians, Colossians, et cetera, were different, independent churches,
- 3:22just as there are now many different Protestant churches, and the Catholic Church
- 3:27didn't come into existence until I don't even remember what year. They said it
- 3:31was ridiculously twelve hundred and something, but those churches were not under the authority
- 3:37of the Catholic Church. Well, you know, even just reading the Bible,
- 3:40you see Saint Paul and continuously telling them to obey their bishops and the
- 3:46presbyters and all that. You know, if a man would not listen to
- 3:52the church, let him be to us a heathen. You know which churches
- 3:54you're supposed to listen to if they're not unified. They all gave difference to
- 4:00Saint Peter as the Pope. Well, Protestants don't believe that because you know,
- 4:05it's not specifically spelled out in the Bible, which is kind of ridiculous,
- 4:11because the Bible didn't even exist for the first you know, intact.
- 4:15It had not been compiled and put together and published as a volume as we
- 4:19know it now and translated into a language most people can read until the three
- 4:25hundreds. So you can, however, read the writings of the early church
- 4:30fathers. They're very easy to read. Now that we have them online.
- 4:32Anybody can access them. You can read Pope, say, Clement of Rum,
- 4:39the third Pope. You can read Polycarp Irenaeus, all these great saints,
- 4:44and you will read very specifically that they were Catholic, that they all
- 4:47deferred to the Pope. This is in the first one to two hundred years
- 4:51of the Church, before the Bible was even published. And if you want
- 4:55to go further back in then you can go to d dot K, which
- 4:57was the Teachings of the Twelve which was written before the Book of Revelations was
- 5:02even written, and it was the teachings of the Catholic Church and the only
- 5:08church in the world that existed, and it specifically makes reference to everything Catholics
- 5:15believe that the Eucharist, how we go to Mass, why we go to
- 5:17church on Sunday, and that we are Catholic. So you know, this
- 5:23is a Protestant myth. And the bottom line is you can always say to
- 5:26them, okay, point out to me a church that wasn't Catholic. And
- 5:30if they say, well, let's go with what did he what did this
- 5:34person name Corinth Ephesians Colossians, Okay, Now go find me the earliest writings
- 5:43and records of that church. And once they do, they will find out
- 5:46that church was absolutely Catholic, completely in union with the Pope and ron under
- 5:55the authority of the bishops, with the Eucharist and Mass, just like we
- 6:00have today. The problem is you'll never get that far because they won't read
- 6:04anything other than the Bible. You could say, look here, here's a
- 6:08letter from the actual bishop of that church in you know, two fifty a
- 6:13d. And they refused to read it. And if they if they did
- 6:16read it, they would say it was false. I mean, there's no
- 6:19way to disprove. To some there's no way to prove a negative. That's
- 6:26the old saying. There's there's no way to prove a negative. It's like
- 6:29when the old political tactic. In a debate, one politician says the other,
- 6:34when did you stop beating your wife? And the other guy's like,
- 6:38well, I never have, and immediately he looks guilty. You know,
- 6:42if someone makes a false accusation, the only way you can disprove it,
- 6:47Like if they say, you know, you robbed a bank on Friday the
- 6:50seventeenth of September twenty twenty three, you would have to have a record of
- 6:59your self being in a different place doing something else, if the only evidence
- 7:04against you was a charge. You know, that's why our court system actually
- 7:09works on evidence. I guess, unless you're Donald Trump and then someone can
- 7:13make up an outrageous story about you, and a biased political judge and grand
- 7:20jury will find you guilty and you have to pay millions of dollars for something
- 7:26that never happened. You know. That's why even you know in the Bible
- 7:30it says unless there are two witnesses to something, you couldn't bring a charge
- 7:33against somebody. Yeah, there's a reason. That has been part of law
- 7:40for thousands of years up until the time Donald Trump left the presidency and the
- 7:46world came after Trump and his supporters. So we have innocent people rotting in
- 7:51jail right now and have for the last three years and almost a month.
- 8:00So the person goes on, According to you, Christ was a Catholic.
- 8:03All followers of Christ therefore belong to the Catholic Church. The hey answer,
- 8:09Christ, as the founder of the Catholic Church, was of course a Catholic.
- 8:13But your conclusion does not follow. Many profess to believe in Christ,
- 8:16but do not accept the whole of his teaching. They are mistaken. Certainly,
- 8:22the Anglican does not believe in the correct doctrines of Christ, if the
- 8:26Baptist does. The Catholic Church alone teaches the complete doctrine of Christ and the
- 8:31only way to become a Catholic is to submit to her teaching authority and disciplinary
- 8:35directions. Person says, since Christ forbade divisions in the Church, you must
- 8:41admit that every Christian church is a branch of the true Church. The Protestant
- 8:46churches are but offshoots of the Roman Catholic Church. Wow, that's a stretch
- 8:50of that's not even logical, they answer. The Protestant sects constitute a breakaway
- 8:58from the Catholic Church Church. That is their condemnation, for there could never
- 9:03have been a valid reason for leaving the church established and guaranteed by Christ.
- 9:07In any case, branches of the Church must be living branches, still retaining
- 9:13their union to the parent tree. The Catholic Church as established in England,
- 9:16or in America or in Australia fits in with the idea of living branches.
- 9:22But at best, Protestant sects are branches sawed off and without the true life
- 9:28of the tree. Protestant churches are divisions from the church, not coordinated parts
- 9:33within the church and making up one complete body. Well, let's move on.
- 9:41We'll get to Father Sparaga. We're still discussing the life of Christ.
- 9:48And we left off yesterday with the ascension, and now we're going to talk
- 9:54about the person of the Redeemer. Very very interesting section. Here he begins,
- 10:05Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, is the Son of God made man.
- 10:09Hence he is God himself, the incarnation of the Son of God. The
- 10:16Heathen had very early conceived the idea that God had descended from heaven and mixed
- 10:20with men. The Greek mythology is full of it. Now God has actually
- 10:24come down to earth at the moment of the anunciation zero point one. The
- 10:30second divine Person became man in the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary by the
- 10:33action of the Holy Ghost at the moment of the anunciation. Lewis Granada writes,
- 10:39just as the Sun must be wrapped in clouds if we were to gaze
- 10:41upon it with eyes undimmed, so God wrapped himself in flesh, as in
- 10:46a cloud, so that the eyes of our soul might bear to look upon
- 10:50him. Human thought must be clothed in words to reach our ears. So
- 10:56God clothed himself in human nature to reach the souls of men. The Word
- 11:01of God, i e. The Son of Man was made flesh, I
- 11:05became man and dwelt among us. The incarnation took place in the instant when
- 11:11our lady uttered the words, be it done unto me? According to thy
- 11:13word? They err who think that human nature was first formed and afterwards united
- 11:18to the divine person, just as the Valentinians were wrong in asserting that Christ
- 11:24brought his human body from heaven. Christ received his body from the Virgin Mary.
- 11:28He was made from a woman at Galatians four to four, and was
- 11:35the seed of David Romans one three. The son of Man came down from
- 11:37heaven. It is true in regard to the divine person, but not in
- 11:41regard to his human nature. We must, not, however, imagine that
- 11:46the Divine Essence came down from heaven and unite itself to the human nature.
- 11:50This would mean that all three persons of the Blessed Trinity had assumed our human
- 11:54nature. Such a thing as impossible. For such a union would require a
- 11:58chance in the Divine Essence, which is incapable of change. Only one of
- 12:03the divine persons, the Son of God, assumed our human nature. God
- 12:07i e. A divine person, not the Godhead i e. The Divine
- 12:11Essence. Became man. There is, however, an intimate union between God,
- 12:16between the nature of God and the nature of man in the person of
- 12:20the Sun. And it is certain that all the divine persons had their share
- 12:24in the working of the incarnation, For in the work which God does outside
- 12:28himself, all three persons of the Trinity have their share. The incarnation is,
- 12:33in a peculiar manner, the work of the three divine persons. The
- 12:37three divine persons formed a human soul and a human body, united them to
- 12:41the second and united to them the second person of the Trinity. As Saint
- 12:46Augustine puts us in the guitar, the sound seems to come from the strings
- 12:50alone, yet three elements are wanted, the human hand, the skill of
- 12:54the player, and then the string or as Saint full Us full Gentius,
- 13:03I believe, is how you pronounce? That explains. The body and soul
- 13:05are necessary for a man to profit by his food, Yet the body alone
- 13:11receives nourishment. So the three persons of the Trinity cooperate in the incarnation,
- 13:16but the second person only was united to the flesh. The incarnation is ascribed
- 13:20in a special manner to the Holy Ghost because it is the greatest work of
- 13:24God's love. The Church teachers that the works of love are ascribed to the
- 13:28Holy Ghost, who is the love of the Father and the Son. According
- 13:31to the Fathers, there is no doubt the Church fathers that either God,
- 13:35the Father or the Holy Ghost might have become man, but it was meet,
- 13:41it was proper. That's what he means, that he who is the
- 13:43Son of God from all eternity should become the son of man, that he
- 13:48who is the perfect image of God should restore to mankind the supernatural image which
- 13:54have been lost by sin. The Father of Jesus is therefore God the father
- 13:58in heaven. Joseph, the spouse of Mary, is only the foster father
- 14:03of Jesus. Saint Gregory the Great tells us that Christ is the son of
- 14:07God not only because he's the second person of the blessed Trinity, but also
- 14:11because God formed his sacred humanity in the first Promise of the Redeemer. As
- 14:16we read it in the pro Too Evangelist pro to Evangelium, Christ is called
- 14:22not the seed of man, but the seed of the woman. That's Genesis
- 14:26three fifteen also knows the pro Too Evangelium I guess I have allt it pro
- 14:33to evangelium. I think is that I had trouble with that one in school.
- 14:37I still have trouble with it now. Not that it was used a
- 14:41lot, but it was one of those terms we had on a test one
- 14:43time. And the genealogy of Christ, recorded by Saint Matthew, no mention
- 14:50is made of his descent from Joseph, but only from Mary. Yet Christ
- 14:54was commonly thought to be the son of Joseph. Mary was espoused to Saint
- 14:58Joseph so that no aation might be made against her by the world, and
- 15:01that she might have in him a protector. About Saint Joseph, we have
- 15:05the following facts. He was a carpenter, he was a just man.
- 15:09Saint Jerome tells us that he was perfect in every virtue, and Saint Thomas
- 15:13Aquinas gives us the reason for his holiness, that he was so close to
- 15:18the fount of holiness, just as the spring is clearer when we approached its
- 15:22source. Francis of Sales, Saint Francissile tells us that Saint Joseph was conspicuous
- 15:30for his purity, and therein surpassed all the saints, and even the angels.
- 15:35To him was granted the honor which kings and prophets sighed for in vain.
- 15:41He might take his Lord into his arms, kiss him, speak with
- 15:43him, clothe him, protect him. That's a quote from Saint Bernard,
- 15:48or reference to the reigns of Saint Bernard. He was called father by him
- 15:52whose father was in heaven. That's from Saint Basil Basl I guess. Many
- 15:56saints assert that Saint Joseph was a very high has a very high place in
- 16:02heaven, is the spouse of the Blessed Virgin, and that he will be
- 16:06called upon by men in the last days of the world and give signs of
- 16:08his great power. Saint Joseph is the patron of the Church. His prayers
- 16:14for the church have great efficacy at the throne of God. He is also
- 16:18the patron of a happy death, dying as he did himself in the arms
- 16:22of Jesus and Mary. He has also invoked for temporal wants since his care
- 16:26on this earth. He has also invoked for temporal wants since his care on
- 16:32this earth was the support for the Holy Family. Saint Thomas Aquinas says that
- 16:37Saint Joseph received power from God to help in all necessities, and Saint Teresa
- 16:41declared that no prayer of hers to Saint Joseph in temporal or spiritual need was
- 16:45everlast left unanswered. The Catholic Church has always honored Saint Joseph in a special
- 16:52manner, after our Lady, and above all other saints. So very interestingly,
- 16:57the earliest recorded prayer of the Church to a saint is not actually to
- 17:04the Blessed Virgin Mary. It's to Saint Joseph. And it may have actually
- 17:08been taught to the Apostles by Jesus or by Mary, because it seems to
- 17:15have been written when the Apostles were still alive. Very interesting. Zero point
- 17:23three. The incarnation of the Son of God is a mystery which we cannot
- 17:26understand, but only admire and honor. The conception and incarnation are as little
- 17:33understood by us as the flowering of the rod of Aaron in numbers seventeen.
- 17:41Shut thy eyes, all reason, says Saint Bernard, for under the veil
- 17:45of faith, they all can't see the sheen of this mystery. Just as
- 17:49the eye of the body can bear the light of the sun when shaded by
- 17:52a cloud. I know that the Son of God became man, but I
- 17:56know not how, said Saint John Christostom. Following are illustrations which have been
- 18:00used to convey the idea of the union of the Godhead and human nature in
- 18:04Christ. The divinity and humanity are united in Christ as body and soul,
- 18:10or united in man. That's from the Athanasian creed. If spirit and matter
- 18:15so essentially distinct or unite in a man, all, the less matter of
- 18:21surprise is that the divinity in humanity, which after all have their points of
- 18:25resemblance, are found united in Christ. Speech is a sort of incarnation,
- 18:30says say Augustine. At first, the word is conceived as a mere thought,
- 18:34something purely spiritual, if that thought is to be conveyed to another's put
- 18:38into words. Yet, yet though it appeals to these senses, it is
- 18:44nonetheless produced from the soul. So the Word of God has appeared to many
- 18:48and ceases not to remain with the Father God has appeared to many and ceases.
- 18:55Other illustrations show the actions of the Holy Ghost in Christ's conception. Saint
- 19:00Isidore tells us that Christ was formed from Mary, just as Eve was formed
- 19:03from Adam. The incarnation resembles in some respects the creation, when everything was
- 19:08produced by God's almighty power without the cooperation of man. The mystery of the
- 19:14incarnation is commemorated by the ring of the angelus bells, the words that the
- 19:18angelists recall in the most lively way the scenes of the Nunciation. The angelus
- 19:23is a prayer, you know. I try to say it daily. A
- 19:29lot of blessings promised to those who do. It's basically a brief summary of,
- 19:34you know, the story of the incarnation. The Angel of the Lord
- 19:38declared in the marriage, she concede to the Holy Spirit. Behold the handmaid
- 19:42of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to Thy word.
- 19:45And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And in between you
- 19:48say hell, Mary's and such at the words of the Credo. In the
- 19:53Mass, he took flesh in the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary by the
- 19:56Holy ghosts. Just what it used to be said the creed. You know,
- 20:00it's been changed a few times since now. Since then, the celebrant
- 20:04also kneels. The celebrant always kneels also at the words in the Last Gospel.
- 20:10It's true, I don't see it enough these days. When we say
- 20:12the Apostles Creed, we should either kneel or bow at that point when referencing
- 20:19the incarnation and the blessed Virgin Mary, and also at the words of the
- 20:23Last Gospel and the Word was made flesh. On Christmas Day, the Annunciation
- 20:29twenty fifth of March, the sacred ministers at High Mass kneel on the altar
- 20:33steps and bow their heads at incarnatus est of the Credo Credo. The angels
- 20:41also venerate the mystery of the incarnation. I get a little tickle on my
- 20:45throat to day if my voice sounds a little funny. I'm trying to sip
- 20:47on some tea in between here, all right, Moving on to point number
- 20:56four, The incarnation of the Son of God was necessary to give perfect satisfaction
- 21:00to the injured majesty of God. God might have chosen some other means for
- 21:06redeeming man. He might, by special exercise of his goodness, have been
- 21:11content with an imperfect satisfaction, or have remitted the guilt without demanding any satisfaction.
- 21:17Of all Saint Augustine on this subject rites, there are some foolish people
- 21:21who think God could not have redeemed mankind. Otherwise than by himself taking flesh
- 21:26and suffering at the hands of sinners, he might have followed quite another plan,
- 21:30as we shall see in treating of the death of Christ. God wished
- 21:33to have perfect satisfaction to display his justice as well as his mercy. Perfect
- 21:40satisfaction could only be given, could be given only by a god man.
- 21:45The greatness of an injury is measured by the dignity of the person who suffers.
- 21:49Hence the offense given to God is infinitely great, no finite being.
- 21:55Not even the most perfect angel could atone for an offense against God, only
- 21:59God him self. So that to use the words of Saint Anselom to redeem
- 22:03man, it was necessary that God should become man. As God only he
- 22:07could not suffer. As man only he could not redeem. Hence the God
- 22:12had assumed a human nature. That's quo from Saint pro Proclus I guess if
- 22:18a valuable portrait be damaged beyond recognition, it cannot be restored unless the sitter
- 22:23present himself to the artists. Thus God had to come down on earth to
- 22:27restore his likeness in man. Anthonausius the God man could satisfy perfectly the injured
- 22:37majesty of God by appearing on earth in a state of lowliness. Had he
- 22:41appeared in his majesty, men would never have dared crucify him. Like Courtis
- 22:45the Athenian king, he secured victory to his own by dying for them.
- 22:49The oracle had promised the Athenian victory if their king died by the hands of
- 22:56the enemy, and Cortus, disguising his royal dress, marked into the enemy's
- 23:00camp and was by them put to death. The prophet had foretold that mankind
- 23:04should be saved by the death of its king, and Christ, taking the
- 23:07form of a slave, was put to death. The evil spirits fled when
- 23:11they saw whom they had killed. If, as Lewis of Grenada says,
- 23:17a king would prove his courage in battle, he must put away all symbols
- 23:21of rank to proclaim them only when he is victor. And this is what
- 23:25our Lord did. He will come again with great power and majesty. Saint
- 23:30Thomas says that we cannot affirm with certainty that God would have become man had
- 23:34man not sinned. It certainly would not have been beyond his power point number
- 23:41five. The second person always remained God, though he became man by the
- 23:45incarnation. He lost none of his dignity when we assert that the son of
- 23:48a man. When we assert that the Son of God came down on earth,
- 23:52we did not mean that he left heaven. So a star may become
- 23:56visible to us without leaving the firmament. As Saint Ambrose says, the divinity
- 24:00of Christ is not destroyed, but only hidden by his human nature, just
- 24:04as the sun is not put out, but veiled only by the clouds.
- 24:08And as the thought, because spoken does not cease to be the product of
- 24:11the soul, so the word of God does not cease, did not cease
- 24:15to be with the father. Saint Augustine. As a word, though spoken
- 24:19only for the benefit of one person, may be heard by all bystanders.
- 24:25So the divine Word was not limited by the body which he assumed, but
- 24:30feels heaven and earth. Moreover, God lost none of his dignity by the
- 24:33incarnation. The sunlight, which plays over the filth that is not defiled.
- 24:38Still less the Godhead defiled by taking flesh from the pure womb of Mary.
- 24:42That Saint Odillo, if a prince put on a slave's dress, and in
- 24:48it picked a precious ring from the gutter to grace his finger. There is
- 24:52no loss of dignity. So too, the Son of God was not degraded
- 24:56by taking on himself the form of a slave and coming down to earth to
- 25:00save souls and gain them to himself. When the apostle says that Jesus Christ
- 25:04abased himself by taking the form of the servant, it's in a Philamon two
- 25:08seven. He does not mean that God lost anything, but only that he
- 25:12assumed of nature lower than his own and gave us thereby an example of humility.
- 25:19He humbled himself zero point six. And we'll stop with this one,
- 25:26for today is by incarnation of the Son of God all the members of the
- 25:32human race have acquired a special dignity. The human nature of the Son of
- 25:37God is like the yeast which leavens the whole mass. That's Matthew thirteen thirty
- 25:44three. Christ is divine, and we are the branches. The angels even
- 25:48fall short of us in this respect, for though they are exempt from sickness
- 25:51and death, they cannot claim God for their brother. Were they capable of
- 25:56envy, they would envy us that honor that's actually why the devil hates us
- 26:02so much, you know, That's why the devil and all his demonic former
- 26:06angels try so hard to make us sin, to lead us tempt us into
- 26:11sin, so that we don't have that honor anymore. As Saint Ambrose says,
- 26:18the Almighty took the form of a slave, that the slave might become
- 26:22a king. The son of God became the son of man, that the
- 26:25children of men might become children of God. Saint anthonusus again, all,
- 26:30what a wondrous redemption is there where men? All? What a wondrous redemption
- 26:37is that where man is, as it were, put on par with God.
- 26:41It's a quote from Saint Hilary. We're gonna get way into that subject
- 26:45later. That's that's really a teaching that I think most Protestants don't understand anymore.
- 26:59And it kind of comes from from the old Wesley and John Knox's tradition
- 27:03of seeing what was the analogy they used to use in the early Methodist Church,
- 27:11or I think it was Methodists come be in Presbyterian that grace was the
- 27:17grace of God. Covering man was like snow covering a pile of manure.
- 27:22Uh. See, the Bible actually says that Christians become part of the body
- 27:27of Christ and actually become like God as saints in heaven. The Catholic Church
- 27:36still teach us that, the Orthodox Church still teach us that. Maybe the
- 27:40Anglicans. I don't know, but that's actually what the Bible says. And
- 27:47it's hard to understand. But you know, when you become baptized, you
- 27:51become part of the Body of Christ, the mystical body of Christ. When
- 27:55you die, if you go to heaven and you're saint, you live forever
- 27:59united one, essentially in spirit with God. And the reason the saints pray
- 28:06for us is because they take on the mission of God of saving souls.
- 28:11It's actually a very well it's mentioned several books in the Bible. It's really
- 28:18hard to overlook. But it's also very hard to comprehend with our limited human
- 28:23understanding. But if you know, as a Protestant, deny the intercession of
- 28:30angels and saints, even though the Bible's full of the intercession of angels,
- 28:33and if you have a complete Bible, you also know about saints, you
- 28:38have to think of them as being cut off somewhere else, right, not
- 28:44sharing essentially in the divine divinity and mission of Christ. Whereas actually the Bible
- 28:49says were surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. They're here with us, seeing,
- 28:53hearing us, advocating for us. A book for revelation, tell us
- 28:57about the prayers of the saints for those on earth. I mean, you
- 29:02know, if you actually read the Bible, you understand these things as much
- 29:06as we possibly can. Of course, there have been great saints like Saint
- 29:08Augustine and others that will you know, really understood and explain this far better
- 29:15than I could. And Father Spiago, we'll get into that topic before too
- 29:21long. We'll be talking about that. And it really is a fascinating part
- 29:26of Catholic teaching that we it's the community of Saints. We are all connected
- 29:30and joined in the body of Christ. And you know, even though we
- 29:36say it in the Catholic Church, I believe in the community of Saints,
- 29:38most of us don't understand it because it is such a complex mystery, you
- 29:45know, I think was it. Saint Paul referred to it as a great
- 29:48mystery when he was talking about Christ and the Church. It's as much a
- 29:55mystery as the Holy Trinity. It's hard for us to understand. And whereas
- 30:00you know, some Protestant churches still say the creed, I know, the
- 30:04Methodists do. They don't understand that. They also say, I believe in
- 30:07the One Holy Catholic Church, and they don't understand that either. They actually
- 30:11will put a little asterisk there beside it that says universal, which they actually
- 30:18understood. I mean, that's what's so ironic. Yeah, it is the
- 30:21universal Church. That is what Catholic means in Latin, meaning it should be
- 30:26the only one church in the entire world that everyone belongs to. There is
- 30:32no Christian church outside of the Catholic Church because it has no authority. The
- 30:37Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ. Every other church has been founded by
- 30:42a heretic schismatic on it, based on his own ego. You know,
- 30:48just as you know Satan wanted to make himself his own God, they make
- 30:52themselves in their own church. You know. It's a little harsh, yeah,
- 30:56but it's also true. And as I said Yestersad yesterday, it's an
- 31:00act of charity to warn a blind man that he's about to walk off a
- 31:03cliff or out into traffic, And it's an act of charity to explain why
- 31:10there's only one valid church on earth, and that's the one Holy Catholic Apostolic
- 31:15Church founded by Jesus Christ through his apostles, to whom he gave his authority
- 31:18and through apostolic succession, the same today as it was two thousand years ago.
- 31:23So remember y' all the words of Saint Padre Pio, Pray, hope
- 31:26and don't worry, and I will talk to you next time.
