- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I am super excited for today's guest, for today's episode.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We have Sith from Array.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: You guys know I am a big fan of Array.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I use their blood capsules, their calm capsules, and I just really, well, A, they work.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: And like this is definitely by far the best like blow capsule I've ever used.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: I definitely always use it if I am going out to eat or if I'm traveling.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: It's always like a staple for me I have in my purse.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: They're 100% natural.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Real results, they're formulated for women.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: They are, you know, formulated by NatPath as well.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: So that really speaks to me and resonates with me.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: So I know that there's no fillers, there's no garbage.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: It's basically the wellness product for the millennial woman who doesn't want to compromise on how she feels and wants to feel good, feel calm, not be floated.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So we will definitely leave that down below.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: But we have her on today talking about not only what it's like to be a co-founder of a wellness brand, but also how she stays healthy.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: She also talks about her favorite things to eat and I've growing her bits to grow herself, one of which is cloud bread, which I have now tried and I'm obsessed with.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I've tried her exact combo and it's so good.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Make sure to try the exact combo she recommends in this episode.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And I also want to make like a pizza version this week, so stay tuned to my Instagram for that.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: I can definitely say I've now tried her recipe and it is delicious.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: So highly recommend that one.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And we basically just dive into it all.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: It's a really nice casual conversation.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Um, she is honestly such a genuine, authentic person.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: You know, I've had conversations with her, you know, both in real life, like we've gotten coffee as well as online.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: She's honestly an inspiration, a woman to watch.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: She also is the host of the Dream Figure podcast, which is basically a space to inspire conversations with experts in wellness, beauty, fitness, business, and more.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So I will leave that down below as well as everything else.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: And with that, let's get into the episode.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Hey everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Live Well Podcast.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I am so excited for our guest today.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: I've been wanting to get her on the podcast for a while.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: She is honestly such an inspiration, inspiration to me all the time.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Um, so I'm gonna get her to introduce herself.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Sif, why don't you take over?
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: I hi guys, I'm Sith.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: I'm the founder of Array, um, which is a wellness brand.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: We do targeted supplements, 100% natural, naturopathic doctor formulated, and we really just care about bringing holistic wellness to everyone and making it really chic.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And you guys have definitely seen their stuff on my feed.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: You guys like all the blow capsules I always post when I'm traveling or when I'm going out, these are the ones, and I cannot tell you how many people I have turned on.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I even prescribe these to my clients.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Like that is how much I love Array as a brand, the formulation, the no-fillers, everything like that.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure we'll dive into that.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: But before we do, in terms of like how amazing they are, what made you even start a natural supplement line?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Like, what made you even like, did you wake up one day you're like, yeah, I want to start a natural supplement line?
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Because I know your background is more into like fashion, um, blogging back in the day.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So yeah, how did you get into this?
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Honestly, never in my life did I think like when I'm looking at my like early 20s or when I was in school, I never thought I would get into wellness because my background just was never in that realm.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: But essentially, I had a really bad immune system for the entirety of my life.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Like just constantly sick, like with colds, fevers, like it was just like abnormal, right?
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: And when I was younger, I didn't know any better.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: It was just like taking antibiotics, like whenever I could, right?
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And it got to the point where I was just constantly unwell.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: And then I hit my breaking point when I ended up fracturing a rib from a chronic cough.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: And I was like 22.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: And when I went to my doctor, I was prescribed codeine.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And you know, I was like, this doesn't really seem right.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: But this was six, seven years ago before wellness was like a hot topic, right?
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: So back then it was really granola.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: It was kind of like woo-woo.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: But I was like, look, I'm really desperate right now.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna look into the world of like natural modalities because maybe there's something there.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Like maybe I'll learn something that'll help me heal myself because this just isn't working.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: So I kind of dove headfirst into the world of natural remedies.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: And just as the years went by, like I got more and more passionate about it because, you know, as I started experimenting, I started to see massive shifts in my own immune system.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, wait a minute, I can start like I can troubleshoot other issues that I have, like digestion and fatigue, and all of these different problems could be kind of you know dealt with using natural modalities.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: And I come from beauty.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: And with that background, I was like, skincare is so easy to navigate.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: I can go into any store and find products for whatever issue I have, anything under the sun, things are results driven.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: You know that there's a chemist or a dermatologist behind it.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: And it's also so beautiful that like women have this like amazing experience and they want to integrate it into routines.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: And so I was like, why is this not the case with wellness?
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Um, why is it so difficult?
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Why do we have to buy like a hundred different things to get to the bottom of one problem?
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: So we really like myself and my co-founder and husband, Nish, like we really just wanted to simplify the area and come up with really results-oriented, high-quality products that were formulated by a naturopathic doctor.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: So there was no like, who did this?
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Was it like white labeled by a lab?
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Like, where is this from?
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: And we wanted to make it really simple and super chic.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: So that was kind of the idea behind Array.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: And, you know, the the passion that I have is just like from my own feeling of like, what the fuck am I doing?
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, am I allowed to swear?
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: So, like, you know, just feeling like, what the fuck is this?
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: It's so confusing.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: And I just really wanted to simplify it and bring it to other people, just like myself.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: And what I think is important for everyone listening to understand is that your supplements are like literally the best natural supplements ever.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: The way you have formulated, I swear, I tell people I think she put magic in it.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: There's like slippery album or whatever.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: There's all the things that I know, you know, why these herbs work.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: But truly, like the fact that it was formulated like uh by natural doctor, like probably went through the same training I did and same schooling, makes such a difference than some of those like gimmicky, like bloat tees or this or that that don't actually like do anything.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: And that's what I think really kind of sets Array apart, right?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Like the market is populated with all sorts of garbage.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: And that was the one really interesting thing that, like, you know, every time like prior to building Array, we would go to like wellness professionals, like naturopathic doctors, like really highly trained nutritionists, and we would like talk to them about existing blends that were kind of like, you know, over the counter or whatever it was.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: They were like, no, we only prescribe professional grade brands because this one, like that cutesy one that you saw, it's like look at like go flip it around and look at the number of ingredients.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, like the sourcing is garbage, like quality is shit.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: So I was like, wait, like it's people are some people are actually taking these, right?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Like you're taking them and hoping that you're gonna feel better when they're not doing anything.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: So we really wanted to work with a professional to create something that had high quality ingredients, the proper dosing, not like 600 different ingredients with like this much, like like this tiny little like one sixteenth of an inch amount, and like just does nothing.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: So I think like working with someone with the right background for formulation is incredibly important.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: I love that you said that because so many times, even when I'm looking at things to prescribe people, they have maybe the right ingredient, but the dosage is so small, like that's not gonna do anything.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Or the people who buy like the hair vitamins at Sephora, at least the ones that I know of, like the gummy ones, I'm like the ingredients are not even at therapeutic dose.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Like you're just buying expensive, like you're not you're not gonna do anything.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: So like I it just it blows my mind how much people like spend on not therapeutic dosage stuff.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: That's probably what yours worth.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Yes, we always talk about this, like we always talk about the importance of therapeutic dosing.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, I remember initially when we we came out with our stuff, like we say that like the very minimum you should be taking is like two, and you can take up to four with our bloat capsules.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: And like our capsules are pretty big, right?
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Like they're like they're like this big, and people would be like, oh, but the the size of the capsule is really big.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: And I like I would keep saying that, like, think of it like a teaspoon, right?
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Like if you are to empty the contents of any given capsule into a teaspoon, and you're only getting like from a small little pill, like not ours, like a little pill that maybe you're used to, and that's your norm.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: And you're getting like eight different ingredients in that tiny little pill and you're putting it in a teaspoon, like how much really is that?
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Do you think that's doing anything to your body?
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Like, it's not, it can't.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Totally right.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: So as you wanting to find something natural, you had the idea.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: How did you get from like I have this idea to hey, I have an extremely successful like wellness brand and like it's expanding, and I know you have bloat and calm, and I'm sure there's like something new coming.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: I feel like I've seen spoilers.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: I hope it's for energy.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it was.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: I feel like there's something my clients request the most is energy.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: But how did you navigate not being from a product background?
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: Did you just like Google everything, like figure it out?
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Like, how was that for you?
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Um, honestly, I think that the one thing I like, yes, you have like your amazing product.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: So like I think that that's number one.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: And like the one thing that I think all entrepreneurs should know is that you can get people in through the doors with like good marketing and a good strategy in that sense, but they will not come back if your product is shit.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: So I think first and foremost, like have your heart in the right place and no matter how long it takes, like never settle for something that's subpar.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: And for us, we say that like we don't want to create products where we're gonna be second best.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Like we want to create products where we know with our hearts that like this is something we use every single day and that this is the best that exists.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Like, I cannot take another bold capsule because I know that our one is just the best.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: And I I have to say it's the same for calm.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Like, I take calm every day.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Like I am our number one customer, right?
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: So I think like, of course, great product is really important.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: And then after that, it's like having the right strategies in place and knowing that it's never an overnight thing.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: So for us, it was really important to get the word out.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: We wanted to gift to people.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: So we did that, of course.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And then also like constantly listening to our community.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: So something that we have done, um, I think quite successfully is we've always treated our customers like influencers, also.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: So I remember like initially, like we would send a lot of handwritten notes, right?
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: Like just to every customer that bought.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I remember getting those.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: And so it was always a handwritten note.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: And then obviously, as the company grew bigger, it was like, okay, how can we still bring this like personalized thing to people?
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And so we decided we were gonna do Polaroids, and that went completely viral because people love that personal kind of element.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, we have always treated our customers like influencers and like even just constantly talking to them.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Like Nish and I are always DMing our customers, and I think just like listening to their feedback, hearing the kind of people that they are, it's really important for you to know, like really, really know who your customer is in order to like have a brand that caters to them.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Like, what do they care about?
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Where are they living?
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: What where are they in life?
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: So I think that's something that we've honed in on.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: And then it like the other, I think very important factor is that I think Nish and I are like completely different backgrounds is like the kind of push and pull that a company needs.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I'm really creative and he's very analytical.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: And I think that if you are a single co-founder to make sure that your hires are filling in the gaps where you know you're lacking is really, really important.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Like you can't be good at everything, no one is, and so recognize that and hire where you can't be the best at that thing, you know.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: I'm curious, what's it like working with your husband?
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what's that like?
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: It's honestly the most fun.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: Like I think that you know, it either works or it doesn't.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: And for us, like it's something that's brought us so close together.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: And you know, of course, like there's there's days where like it's you know, it's it's heated discussions, but then we do put it away when we have to, you know, and like we're really vocal about certain things.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Like, I'll tell him that like Nish, I need you to be my husband right now, like not my co-founder, and like let's just table array for now because it's it's a lot for me because we're constantly talking about it.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: So I think having those boundaries is important.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Like when we go on date night, I like I say specifically like tonight we're not talking about work or like whatever it is, you know.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: So otherwise, though, it's so much fun.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: And I think it's also because we do two different things in the business, so you know, it's not like our heads are clashing, like he does his own thing, and I respect and know that like he is doing the most phenomenal job.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: And me going and like, you know, poking my nose in and like giving my opinion on things when he never asked for it is just it's not gonna do anything good, and vice versa.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Like he trusts me fully.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: I always have the last day when it comes to brand marketing, all of that.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And he has a last day when it comes to like operations, like all of that sort of thing.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: So we each have our roles and we respect one another.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: I think, like you said, the boundaries are important.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: So I think if you were doing the same thing, there'd probably be a lot of butting heads, and just boundaries are probably important in general for your life, and whether it's like with him or even just your lifestyle, because I feel like, and I've talked about hustle culture before in my podcast.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: How do you maintain boundaries and a healthy lifestyle with also the fact that you're a startup, you're growing a big business?
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you still be healthy, have those boundaries with work and life and play and still enjoy while building a successful business?
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to hop on to remind you guys that well nourished is open for the final round this year.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: This is going to empower you to not only live healthy in a delicious and satisfying way, but it's going to dive deep so you can anchor and embody it into a new way of life.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: We're gonna dive deep, mind and body, to ensure that you are well nourished as a whole, so that you can finally understand how to nourish your body in a way that is sustainable long term, so that honestly you can get back to feeling yourself.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: It's not about never eating pizza, it's about making these things healthy and conscious so that you can still feel delicious in your body, and as we know, get pleasure out of life.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I'm all about pleasure.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: But first, you have to clear this stuff of blocking you before you can build in that feeling of being healthy.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: So, here to having a healthy relationship with food that's going to allow you to enjoy with pleasure and have fun while you feel.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Because when you start taking care of yourself, you start to feel better, you start looking better, and you start to attract better.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And it all starts with you.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: You are one choice away from living a completely different life.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: So suppose a story, a podcast has inspired you, imagine what a course does.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, it quantum leads you.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: We fast track the healing journey.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: So if you've been working on this for months, for years, not feeling good in your body, not feeling, you know, not seeing the results that you really want and need to just like live, I want to fix this, then you need to get aside well-nourished because it's not just physical, we do emotional too, which makes this the only program of its kind.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: And you have me, Dr.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Live with you.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: And each client well-nourished gets not only my full attention, but a custom treatment protocol just for you in our one-on-one.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And this is like a magical gold dust.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Like this is me and you, custom treatment protocol.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Plus you get my support for eight weeks.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: And this level of guidance while having access to me is the reason that you guys see so many wonderful huge transformations from well-nourished.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: You owe it to yourself to at least open the conversation with me about how I can fix it and how I can have you feeling good.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Because it's all I want to do is have more women feeling good in their bodies, good in their health.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: So check out the link below in the show notes.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: DM me if you have any questions.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: And with that, let's get back to the show.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: So something that my dad has said that stuck with me is that it's a marathon, not a sprint.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: And you know, I I would be lying if I said that there's like ever all time ever is like, you know, the same pace.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Like, yes, sometimes we have bursts of like really high impact kind of there's just like a lot more to do.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: And that's okay.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: But I think like for for me, what I have learned having gone through like extremely stressful periods and almost like let it take over me, is that you cannot do that because me burning out would do most detriment to the company, right?
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: Like, as opposed to me taking time to work out, to go on my walk, to listen to audiobooks.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: So I think like the big wake up moment, like I've always kind of oscillated between like having times where I'm taking care of myself, like prolonged periods, and like others where I've had like extremely stressful periods.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: But when I had my accident in June, like end of June, I was like, this is this is it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Like this is it.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: I will never ever um put my health as like a second to my business.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Like that is all I have.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: And so since then, I have been so diligent.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Like, no matter what, I will not compromise on certain things that I have.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: It's not like I'm taking eight hours a day for my self-care.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: There is like like three or four things that I must do every day.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: And I don't care what meeting I have, I don't care what launch I have, I will not compromise on that because that's like that gives me structure and like that's the thing I hold on to.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: So, what are those three, four things?
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Because I know you do your morning steps with your audiobook.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: I know there's like bulletproof coffee with cinnamon.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Are those like the ones you're talking about?
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Or like those game changers that are like, no matter what, these are the things I have to do that you find for you are the biggest things.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: So it has to be a walk every morning, like absolutely that.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And like I'll listen to an audiobook or a podcast during that time.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: So that's like number one.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: No matter what, I will never skip that.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And then also it's 20 to 30 minutes of some sort of workout.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And like on recovery days, that could be a stretch, but I will never get into my workday without doing like those, like those main things.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: And of course, there is journaling.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Like, but journaling has been a practice of mine since like the last I want to say six years.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's like a like I can't let that go.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Um, and then on most days I do get in meditation as well.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like those are like my core pillars, which I I really like, I feel like I need to hold on to them.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Do you have any favorite types of meditation or do you do like a silent one?
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Do you do a guided one?
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: What do you like?
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: I do silent, so I do self-guided.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I usually um follow like Joe Dispenses methods.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: I love Joe Dis his meditations.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Like if you need a guided one, like they're just they're on another level.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Big fan.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: They're really, really, really good.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And I feel like he gives you even just the basics of like knowing how to breathe and like where you should be putting your energy, like things like that.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And I like that there's a lot of variation.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Like I've read um becoming supernatural and breaking the habit of being yourself.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: And both of them are like there's like you'll never get bored, you know?
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: And like I think that that's where people um get lost or like don't understand meditation, that it doesn't have to be just this, like, like this one way, like this one correct way.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Like, there's a lot of options for you to choose from.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: And I think it's about finding a teacher or like a practice that really resonates with you.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: There's just like there's so many different kinds of fruit.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: There's so many types of meditation, it could be guided, silent, transcendental.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: You can even do walking meditations now.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Like that's becoming a trend.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Like meditation also doesn't have to be sitting still, like you know, legs crossed, saying, Oh, like it's evolved to so many different things.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: So I like that you basically recommend everything that I recommend my podcast because it's just solidifies.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, like a successful entrepreneur does the same things that I recommend.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: It's it's absolutely necessary.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: And like I've read like so many times that like if someone says they don't have time to meditate, they need it the most, right?
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And it's true.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Like, if if that slips over like I'm like, ah, I don't have time for this, or like I don't have time for like three minutes of breath work, like what is going on in my life that I cannot make three minutes to fucking breathe, you know?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: But it's interesting that we all get caught up and like, yeah, we don't have three minutes to to breathe, or we don't have five minutes to do this, or even like take 10 minutes and Fully just eat a meal and not do a million things at once.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And it only perpetuates, and I always tell people this you're actually gonna get time back when you meditate.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: So that five minutes turns into like 20 minutes back, it makes you more productive at school or work or wherever you're doing.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: That's the thing.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: Like I think that what people don't realize, or like not just that they don't realize, like I just think that there is like a lack of conversation around this, that like these like little like self-care rituals, quote unquote, this is what makes you a productive human being, right?
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: Because if I am working from working again, quote unquote, from nine to nine, I am not working that whole time.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: I'm just not like it's not possible to be productive for that kind of time period.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Like us human beings, like we're meant to move.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: We're meant to go outside, we're meant to get sunshine, we're meant to, like, we're not meant to be eating in front of the screen constantly, like in a rush.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Like that, these are not things that are like natural or normal.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: And like hustle culture has normalized it, and it's like the furthest thing from normal.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: So I feel like conversation around like how these things that seem like luxuries are actually those things that contribute to productivity.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: I think this conversation is so important.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: And I'm really glad I'm seeing that conversation.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: I feel like more and more, whether it's on Instagram, et cetera.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: And it's like, well, no, like rest is productive, like stop normalizing burnout, stop normalizing being busy all the time and giving your yourself that space for rest or stillness or whatever that is, or that time to meditate or take a walk, whatever are those game changers for you, right?
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: And like even I was speaking to um Dr.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Michael Bruce.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Have you heard of him?
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: I think you'll love him.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: The sleep one?
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the sleep doctor.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the sleep guy.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: So hit like I talked to him about like sleep and productivity because so many people are like, oh, sleep, like I have to do, but it's like almost like a necessary evil, right?
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: Instead of like thinking of it like, oh, my brain is actually like like absorbing things and like recalibrating.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: And it's like the the garbage man is taking out the garbage when I'm sleeping.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: And if I don't sleep enough, then that's just not gonna happen.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: And then the next day is just not as productive, like no one thinks like that, right?
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: It's almost like let me just get sleep out of the way.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Like, sleep is fucking important.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Well, I think people also have that same sleep one is the food, let me get food out of the way, sleep out of the way.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: All the things that we should pay extra attention to.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: We almost get out of the way, right?
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, people who like I've never understood people who just eat to survive and like don't care about food.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: I'm like, how do you not enjoy food?
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, I just eat because I have to.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: I'm like, cannot relate at all.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: We'll never relate to that.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: A hundred percent.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: It's like one of those joys of life.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: And like I feel like it you have to find like little joys every single day, right?
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Like, and I feel like things like you know, um, any like small routine things that you do, or you know, like taking time to really like relish your meals and make things that are nourishing and just you you feel excited about it every day.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: Like those are your little joys every single day.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: It's like it's not worth it to go about living life only looking forward to like the weekend or that trip or like some big event.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Like find joy every single day.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Like this is your life.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Is there something you're making right now that you like love cooking or making that really brings you joy when it comes to food?
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: Um, I am obsessed with cloud bread.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I was just about to ask him, like, is it the cloud bread?
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I've screenshotted it to make it.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: I will make it.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: I I just okay, so I I was gonna make it for like part part of my breakfast, and then I realized that I was out of egg whites and I was so devastated.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: So it's like I was, I saw this recipe and I was like, wait, like, is it actually good?
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: It's delicious.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: It's so good because it's the most like fluffy, like just great base.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: And then you just put whatever you want on it.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: And for me, I I put on my cloud bread.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and for anyone who doesn't know, cloud bread is like just this, like it's egg white.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: Um, you you like whip two-thirds cup of egg white with like two teaspoons of arrowroot flour, and then I put some vanilla bean um powder, organic vanilla bean powder, and then I bake it.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: Comes out fluffy and delicious, and then I top it with um, you know, the hazelnut almond butter from Nuts to You.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: You changed my life with that.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: When I saw you post that, I was like, oh she said, post it.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: I'll like, I'll try it.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: It sounds good.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: No, it is the best tasting nut butter on this planet.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Like you converted me.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: So I know exactly.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: Tell us, go on, go on.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: So that and cacao um honey.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: So I use the one from um Beekeeper Neutral.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I have this stuff in my kit.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: I know what I'm gonna do for breakfast tomorrow.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: And then, and then like a little bit of Lily's chocolate chips, and then I fold it and everything just melts.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: And oh my gosh, like my mouth is like full of saliva right now.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: It's so good.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: It brings me so much joy.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: I can't even tell you.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm gonna make this.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: I've made a cloud bread before, but I've only made it with like an egg in the center.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: I've never done a sweet version, but this sounds so so good.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Do you have this recipe posted somewhere on your Instagram?
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: No, but I like the number of people who have asked me, like, I should probably just do like a highlight.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Um, it's like it's so good.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: That, and I would say like this is uh like like really underrated, but like in terms of savory, I actually two things.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: I really like cognac noodles because it's like the best base.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Um, I have it with just like Rouse tomato sauce, and then I'll do like vegetables and like a protein as well.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: And then you've seen the TikTok um feta tomato pasta, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I've made it.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that with um spaghetti squash is the base.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Like I'm obsessed with it.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: I saw you, I think it was yesterday, the day before that you were making that.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's so good.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: And then you just add like a little bit of chili powder, like chili peppers.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, it's like again, I'm salivating it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Clearly, I'm hungry.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm gonna eat lunch after this.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, I'm gonna try that with the spaghetti squash.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: I've only done it with like the grain-free pasta from Jovial, but I feel like I like the spaghetti squash.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: That would be really good.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: I know for the conjac, I I see you prepared a certain way.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: You proposed it like a tip about was it with vinegar or drying it out in the pan or something like that?
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: So basically, like, so the first time I I had cognac noodles, I or conjac, however you say it, it like I was like, this tastes like fish, like it's like the most foul thing ever.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: And then I never touched it again.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: And it was like now, like six years later, I was like, I'm I'm I'm gonna try it.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: And so what I do is like I rinse it in like cold water, and then I'll put it in the pan and add in like a teaspoon to a tablespoon of rice wine vinegar and dry like all the water out.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: And then it's like once it's dry, it has no taste and binds to anything.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: And that's when I add my sauce.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: And like literally, it's the best basic.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: I've made pad thai out of it, I've done like Italian pasta, like I've made like a hundred variations of this thing, and it's it's good every time.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: So for anyone listening who's tried it and you feel like the fishiness, try this tip about I'm gonna try this because I didn't even know that.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: And I have some in my cupboard with the vinegar and drying it out.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like blood changing.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: I wanted to food tips.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: Who would have known?
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: I'll be tagging you and like not my recipe, but like, oh, I love it.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: I'm honored.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: I always look at your stuff.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: So, you know, the it's the feeling is very mutual.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: So, what's next for Ray?
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so we have a really exciting couple of product launches that are coming up in the next few months.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: And um then we may or may not be having a live thing going on.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: So you guys will see details about it um later.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: But like, you know, just we we want to be kind of doing more in-person things as well as things open up and you know, people are more excited about that.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: So that's that's like those are like some really exciting things that are coming up.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: I'm really excited for the new products because even like your calm one, what I love about your calm one is that it's calm without drowsy.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we need a calm.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: I used to like take passion flower back in the day, but it makes me so drowsy.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: I'm like, well, great, I'm not anxious, but I'm drowsy.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: So like this is not productive, but calm takes it away, but I can still be focused.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Like it's literally magic.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: I like I'm so happy about that formula because I can run anxious, especially like for me, um, when I transitioned from like more solopreneur to entrepreneur, which is like, you know, you're working with a team, you're having a lot of calls, you're leading calls.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: Like this was a very new realm to me.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: And I felt like I would get really like jittery and anxious when I had like that volume of calls all day long.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: And calm was like my savior.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: And I'm so glad we created it because having something that's there that like beats jitters and like helps you kind of function at your optimal without jitters is so important.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: So important.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm gonna leave the link for a Ray, of course, in the show notes for you guys to check it out.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Make sure you stock up if you haven't.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I literally always make sure that there's calm and bloat in my cabinet at all times.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: It is something I have repurchased personally, which I feel like people always ask me, like, oh, did you buy like, no, I've repurchased a Ray four years now.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: Like it is always there.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: So you guys know that if I purchase it repeatedly, it's it's the good stuff.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: So, one last question before I let you go, because this is the Live Well podcast.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: What does it mean to you to live well?
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: I think I'm gonna go back to what I said about having certain non-negotiables which you hold on to.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I have noticed that when I let certain things slip and I let my work control me, I'm no longer living well.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: I'm being driven by my work as opposed to like me being in the driver's seat of my life.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: So, like, know what like those pillars are that make you feel really good and don't let go of them.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, of course, like everyone can slip like here and there, like one or two days, whatever.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, we're not robots, but like keep going back to those things that make you feel really good.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: Like, that's my version of what living well means.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: And I like that you picked like two or three things.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: So it's not like I have to do 50, all these things because that's not doable, but like it's for you the the walking thought and the uh the movement in the day.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: Like those are two, like that's that's doable.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: It's not like you have a three-hour morning routine, which is like not, you know, that's gonna be a lot harder to fit in.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like someone messaged me or like DM'd me the other day, and they're like, I feel like um, like I've been trying to get consistent with a morning routine, and I feel like I keep falling off the bandwagon.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: And I was like, well, maybe just like do like pick one thing and just commit to that.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: Like you don't need to make it this whole complicated thing where like, you know, all of a sudden you go from zero to a hundred and it feels like a stressor in your life.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Because the whole point of like having like morning a morning routine or whatever rituals you have for yourself, it's not to add stress to your life, it's to like enhance your life.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: And so that should always feel manageable.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, what feels manageable to me may not be manageable to someone else, but find you are manageable.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Like that's all that matters.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: It can be 10 minutes, you know what I mean?
- 33:01SPEAKER_01: Like it's just like, but it needs to get you through the day.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: And I think it's especially important in terms of mornings because that sets the tone for the day as well.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: That's like, all right, this is what like the not the like almost like the rose-colored glasses, the filter for like this is how the rest of the day is gonna go.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Versus if you start at rest, stressed, whatever it is, then that sets the tone for your day.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I've read um, do you know Dr.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: Daniel Amon Amon?
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know how to say his last name, but he's he's like a brain expert, and he talks about this concept of automatic negative thoughts, and it's like the acronym chance.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: And so if you wake up and you are jumping out of bed with this crazy alarm, and then the first thing you have to do is like, you know, drink your coffee and run out the door to work, like you haven't taken time to like wake up properly, like support that natural rise in cortisol.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: And you've done nothing to set the tone for your day in order to ensure that it's positive.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: And again, you're letting your life run you as opposed to you running your life.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: So I feel like my mornings are sacred because they like that is what will determine like how I show up for the rest of the day.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: So it's actually not just like from a mental health standpoint, it's also like important to support that natural rise of cortisol.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: And like if you're just doing it like immediately, like you're consuming the news and the social media and the alarm and like the coffee, like it's just you've not you've not done it for yourself.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Like you've not even given your cortisol a fucking chance.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: Yep, couldn't agree more.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you so much for coming on the podcast.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: You guys don't forget to check out Sith and Array.
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: I'll leave everything down below, and I'll see you guys in the next episode.
