- 0:30Because before I ever understood success, I understood damage. Money meant I could eat. So many successful people still feel empty. They're not addicted to money. They're addicted to what money used to solve. Hunger.
- 0:47Insecurity. Fear. Money stops owning you when it stops representing your worth. Healing changed everything for me. Because what you don't heal, you hand down. I finally accepted the truth. The only things I can control are my attitude and my actions. Everything else is surrender. Having it all starts when you stop trying to hold it all.
- 1:21When people talk about having it all, they usually start with money or status or freedom. But I wanna start somewhere different because before I ever understood success, I understood damage. I'm holding up a card that says health. And growing up, I didn't see health modeled. Not physically, not mentally. Both of my mother's parents died of heart attacks
- 1:49My mother had one very young. My stepfather was extremely obese. My biological father was thin as a rail from all the drinking and drugs. That was my blueprint. It was not normal. And mentally, don't even get me started. There was no emotional regulation.
- 2:08Emotional intelligence, yeah, right. Zero reflection, no healing, literally just survival. So when I speak to you on these things, I speak from much experience. When I committed to physical health, it wasn't about the abs, it wasn't about looking good, it was about freedom and safety. The freedom to not be abused anymore.
- 2:38Freedom to be strong enough that nobody could put their hands on me again. Freedom to leave. The physical strength gave me the freedom I never had as a kid. My body became my exit strategy. Not to dominate, but to never feel trapped again. Then mental health came later, and for a different reason.
- 3:05Mental health wasn't about fixing myself. It was about becoming a better father by loving myself, by choosing myself. Because I realized something that hit me hard. If I didn't heal, I'd repeat. I've said that a thousand times. What we don't repair, we repeat. And another version of that is what you don't heal, you hand down. So I did the opposite of what I watched growing up.
- 3:35I regulated, I reflected, I owned my shit. Not perfectly, but intentionally. So here's the reframe. Health isn't something you add once you're successful. Health is what makes success sustainable. Without it, money's useless. Without it, freedom is temporary. Without it, having it all collapses.
- 4:03Health isn't the goal, it's the requirement. So when I say health comes first, I don't mean optimization, I mean liberation. I mean breaking a lineage. You don't build a life on top of health. You build everything from it. For a long time when I heard the word family, my body didn't relax, it tightened. Family didn't feel warm.
- 4:32It felt heavy. It felt like pressure. So the next card I'm holding up says family. And if I'm honest, for most of my life, family meant responsibility I didn't ask for. Growing up, family wasn't a place you went to rest. It was a place you went to brace.
- 4:58You learned how to read moods. You learned how to stay out of the way. You learned how to manage chaos that wasn't yours. That does something to you. It teaches you that family equals pressure. Pressure to behave, pressure to perform, pressure to hold things together.
- 5:23And when family equals chaos, love feels like work. This is why a lot of driven people avoid their family. They'll work nonstop. They'll stay busy. They'll chase success. Because family feels like another way. Not because they don't care, but because they were never shown presence without pressure. And everything's changed when I started healing.
- 5:53Not grinding harder. Not making more money. Healing. Therapy. Reflection. Owning my patterns. That's when family stopped feeling like pressure and started meaning responsibility. Not responsibility to fix everyone. Responsibility to show up right.
- 6:21Pressure is forced. Responsibility is chosen. Pressure drains you. Responsibility grounds you. Pressure says, don't mess this up. Responsibility says, be present. Responsibility is love with a spine.
- 6:44Presence is the gift, not perfection, not fixing, not controlling. Presence. Being there regulated, being there available, being there without projecting your old wounds. Your kids don't need a perfect parent. They need a present one. Here's the reframe.
- 7:12Having it all doesn't mean choosing family over everything. It means choosing to show up for your family differently. With awareness. With responsibility. With presence. Family stops being pressure when you stop bringing your unhealed past into the room. If family still feels heavy to you,
- 7:37That doesn't mean you're broken. It means there's healing left to do. And when you do it, family becomes the place you exhale. People love to talk about money like it's greedy or shallow or something you shouldn't care about. Those people usually never went without it. Because when you grow up with no money, money isn't ambition, it's survival. The next card I'm holding up
- 8:09It says money. And for me, money didn't mean status. It meant food. If you've been following me for any amount of time, you know I lied about my age to get a paper out. I needed to be 13 when I was 12.
- 8:27And I said I was 13. Why? Because my parents were drunks. There was no food in the house. Even though many times we were on welfare, money meant I could eat. Money meant I didn't have to steal to eat. Money meant I wasn't hungry. When money equals food, you never forget what it's really for. Wow. That one hit me hard.
- 8:57Let's talk about money as worth. Something else can happen. Money stopped being just food. It became worth. Because when nobody feeds you, nobody protects you, nobody values you, you start thinking money will. So you chase it. Not to be rich, but to be enough. Money becomes worth when love was missing.
- 9:25And it traps high performers. So many successful people still feel empty. They're not addicted to money. They're addicted to what money used to solve. Hunger, insecurity, fear. The belief that without it, they don't matter. You don't out-earn hunger wounds, you heal them. So today, money means something very different to me. It doesn't mean worth. It doesn't mean identity.
- 9:55It means freedom, freedom to choose, freedom to say no, freedom to walk away, freedom to protect my health and my family. Money doesn't define me anymore, it serves me. And here's a reframe. Having it all doesn't mean endless money. It means enough money to feel aligned.
- 10:23Enough to eat, enough to leave, enough to breathe. Money stops owning you when it stops representing your worth. If money still feels heavy to you, that doesn't mean you're greedy. It means it once kept you alive. Heal that and money becomes what it was always meant to be. A tool for freedom, not proof of value.
- 10:52Many people think purpose shows up as a calling, like a lightning bolt, like clear direction. That wasn't my experience. Before I was healed, purpose didn't feel inspiring. It felt necessary. I'm now holding up a card that says purpose. And I want to say this clearly. Clearly.
- 11:19I always knew I was meant for something. I was smart. Thinking came very easy to me. School came easy to me. I got good grades, but I had no clue what my purpose was. I just knew I had one. And at that stage of my life, purpose wasn't about success. It was about not dying.
- 11:45not ending up in jail, not becoming another statistic like most of my high school friends. Sometimes purpose starts as survival. I hung with a rough crowd, not because I was dumb, but because I wanted family, I wanted loyalty. I wanted guys who would kill someone if they messed with me because protection felt like love.
- 12:13and power felt like safety. That wasn't purpose, that was borrowed armor. When you don't feel safe, you borrow strength. And here's the thing no one else talks about. You can feel destined and still feel lost. You can know you matter and not know why yet. Purpose doesn't always show up as a plan. Sometimes it shows up as refusal.
- 12:43I didn't know my purpose. I just knew I wasn't done. Healing changed everything for me. Because once I wasn't just surviving, purpose stopped being pressure and started becoming direction. I stopped asking, how do I get out? And started asking, how do I give back? Purpose clarified. Not all at once, but honestly,
- 13:14Purpose becomes clear when you're no longer running or hiding. And here's my reframe. Having it all doesn't mean you're knowing your purpose at 20. It means honoring the fact that you have one, even when you don't understand it yet. Even when it's just telling you, stay alive. Purpose evolves as you heal. If you feel like you're meant for more,
- 13:42but you don't know what yet. That doesn't mean you're lost. It means you're early. And having it all doesn't mean having it all figured out. It means staying long enough to find out. For most of my life, I thought peace was control. If I just worked harder, if I just stayed ahead, if I just managed everything, then I'd finally relax. It never worked. It just made me tired.
- 14:13Now I'm holding up peace. And I wanna say something clearly. Control is not peace. Control feels powerful at first. It feels responsible. It feels like leadership. But control is actually fear wearing a suit. It's saying, if I don't manage everything, something bad will happen.
- 14:41And when you grow up in chaos, that belief makes sense. Control kept you alive. Control is what we use when peace was never modeled.
- 14:54Now at Lowe's, faster quotes start at the Lowe's Pro Desk. Got a material list handwritten on a sticky note or saved us a photo? Perfect. Bring it to us and get a quote in minutes. - 15:25And here's the price no one talks about. Control keeps your nervous system always on. Always scanning, always bracing, always preparing for impact. You can be successful like that, but you can't be peaceful. You don't relax in control, you just endure. And here's what changed everything for me. I finally accepted the truth.
- 15:54The only things I can control are my attitude and my actions. That's it. Everything else is surrender. Let go. Let God, universe, source, whatever name you use for your higher power. Peace begins when you stop fighting reality.
- 16:21But let me be clear. Surrender is not a weakness. It's not giving up. It's not checking out. Surrender is choosing effort when it matters and releasing the rest. Peace isn't doing nothing. It's doing the right things and letting go of the rest. Having it all doesn't mean controlling everything. It means being okay when you can't.
- 16:51It means trusting that effort plus surrender beats force every time. It means sleeping at night. Peace isn't found at the finish line. It's built daily. If you're exhausted, if your mind won't shut off, if you feel like you're holding everything together ever so tightly,
- 17:17That's not ambition. That's control trying to replace. You guessed it, peace. Having it all starts when you stop trying to hold it all. Here's something that we rarely talk about when we say they have it all. They talk like it's a destination, like you arrive one day. Everything finally lines up.
- 17:44Hasn't been my experience, nothing I've ever read about. And if I'm honest, it's probably not yours either. You've all heard the things happen for a reason or a season. I'm holding up a card that says season and this card will explain everything. Ready for it? We were taught a lie that life moves in clean phases.
- 18:11Build, then rest. Heal, then grow. Simplify, then expand. That's not real life. Real life overlaps. Most frustration comes from expecting one season while living in several. Right now, I'm in multiple seasons. I'm building, still healing, and I'm simplifying.
- 18:39That used to feel like a problem. Like I was doing something wrong. Like I should pick one. But that pressure, that was just noise. Here's why this feels hard. Building wants momentum. Healing wants patience. Simplifying wants subtraction. Those energies clash. And if you don't understand that, you think you're scattered. You're not scattered, you're evolving.
- 19:09You're in a season. The breakthrough for me wasn't choosing one season. It was simply eliminating noise. So never a season of noise. I eliminated people's expectations, unnecessary obligations, and old identities that didn't fit me anymore. Noise keeps you stuck. Clarity lets seasons coexist. You don't need balance. You need alignment.
- 19:40So let me redefine having it all. It doesn't mean everything is perfect. It doesn't mean every area is maxed out. It means you understand the season you're in and you stop forcing what doesn't belong right now. Having it all means honoring what this season is asking of you. If you're building and healing at the same time,
- 20:09you're not behind. If you're simplifying while still growing, you're not quitting. If things feel heavy and light at the same time, that's transition. You don't fail at having it all. You grow through the seasons.
