- Liam: What's up? Welcome to the Fourth and T podcast week two preview show with me, Liam, and Jamie. How are you doing, mate? 4th&Tea: I am doing well mate, how you doing? Liam: Great. I'm I'm enjoying the fact we've got week one out of the way. I've learnt some things, you know. Things are real now. You know, we know if players are actually gonna play, if they're gonna get targeted. And you know, we're gonna now get to compound that in week two. It's like you've got to readdress or you've got to compound what you found. So there we go. How are you feeling? Still on holiday? 4th&Tea: It's still holiday. I'm going to probably do a different background for like for as long as possible you know, keep everyone on their toes. Who knows where I am. We made it to week two as well with a show still intact. It's pretty impressive. Liam: Exactly. I 4th&Tea: So. Liam: think to continue the theme of on holidays, this is now the fifth episode, am I right? And 4th&Tea: Yep. Liam: four of them have been with people on holiday. So you know, next episode, we're all home base. I think I said that for this 4th&Tea: Kuruhaim byes Liam: one, but let's f let's forget that in the last episode in the less ignore the last pod. 4th&Tea: Let's ignore last ones. Liam: It's all about the next one. This is going to be the second preview show. We're new. We're going to do the rundown. What we do is we have a quick little introduction. We cover some of the news. After that, we then go into the meat of the program. We go into the previews. We cover every game, flash in the pan, tops, two minutes, and we just fish bash bosh it out. Then we do a little bit of Players to avoid. fantasy player, we wouldn't play this week. We then go into our fork section where we pick one more team to add to the pile of teams that aren't gonna make the playoffs. We pick a new team to add to that pile and fork every week. Then we go into our survivor, where me and Jamie are in a battle of survival. Who can pick the team, the winning pathway, and stay on it for the longest? Right, Jamie, are we ready to jump into any news? 4th&Tea: Joe Burrows got a sore little back blessing. Yeah. Liam: So little back. That's fantastic. 4th&Tea: He's carrying Liam: Yeah. 4th&Tea: the Bengals, I guess, so much that he's hurt his back and I think he was, he's left out of practice on, on Wednesday. So he's got, still got a few more days to get into it. So. Liam: Yeah, I think what I from what I understand, not throwing, which is not great, but he's going 4th&Tea: not the best Liam: to play. He's going to play unless he has to have surgery. Which kind of worried me the fact he even said that. That was, you know. 4th&Tea: Why is that even in the conversation? Liam: I didn't need to know that you was thinking about surgery. I'm not even sure what you've done, but now I'm worried. So, you know, we don't want to spoil the the preview for later, but we might be picking one team over another. Sam Darnold turns out it's not a hip i injury. It is a soft tissue injury that's very unique, which I thought's peculiar. Don't know what that means, but he's avoiding the IR. So hopefully he's definitely only out for week two. 4th&Tea: You've got drew luck anyway, so. Liam: True Lock, Milrow. 4th&Tea: Locked in. Liam: I like Milrow. Milrow will do something one day as well. is there any news on the the quarterback situation at the Falcons? From what I understand, no. Everybody's in play. 4th&Tea: No, I'm literally just going to say thanks to Fanski. He's not ruling anybody out at quarterback for week two. doesn't really matter who they play because the Panthers own them no matter what. So it's fine. You can play whoever you want. It won't make a difference Liam: You know, this I mean this isn't gonna get us cancelled, Jamie, but we 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: need a Panthers cat call for you. Like Meow Like 4th&Tea: You Liam: It's like Jamie got you again. The Panthers owned all thirty one teams. Meow. Like 4th&Tea: Yeah, I'll say it. Spoilers, I might be the only Panthers fan who predict us going 17-0 this season. That's weird, it? Liam: Actually, there's a weird thing online that I've been seeing where there's a lot of Panthers fans doing these prediction videos where they all predict the the Panthers going 17 0. And then obviously that broke in the first week. with no further delay, Jamie, let's get into it. Thursday night football. Lions at the Bills Opening up the new Highmark Stadium. Two powerhouses of a team, but one that's running on full noise, and I do mean the Bills. They've got the Lions coming to town, potentially a high-powered offense. And this is gonna be a good Thursday night football, in my opinion. I think we're gonna see big players. You've got Goff, Gibbs, Amun Ra St. Brown, you've got on the other side at home Bills. Excuse me, Bills, Kincaid, DJ Moore. You've got Cook. Sorry, very importantly, you've got Cook. I am just looking at this game. I want to see big offense, a bit of defense, but I want to see Josh Allen go wild and open up that new stadium with a bang. And I think it's just going to be really exciting. Especially this year, it looks like offense on the Lions side. It's gonna get there. I think it's okay. But it wasn't fully there against the s against the Saints, right? And Josh Allen's offense was there against the Texans. And that might be the best defense in the league. So any comments from you before we go into our predictions, Jamie? 4th&Tea: No, I think you summarized that perfectly, really. Yeah, I mean, yeah, lines flattered to deceive, didn't they last game last time against the Saints of all teams as well? We didn't give a chance to. And obviously the Bills, like you said, against Texas defense as well. Thirty six points in Houston as well. Not a bad, not a bad return for for Josh Allen. And he had that connection straight with DJ Moore. You already mentioned King Cade over 100 yards as well. So. I think we know where this prediction is heading anyway, but. Liam: Yeah. I 4th&Tea: That's the point. Liam: think so, I mean, just want to add, one to add, Kin K's been injured for a while. He's been we've been 4th&Tea: Mm. Liam: waiting for him to step up. And I I think he must Derek Stingley. He literally was like Bang! Took that ball off him. That is like a Pro Bowl cornerback. That is a top guy. Like people may be stepping up for Josh Allen like we wanted before the season. So yeah. Also DJ Moore, it's gonna get better. It's gonna get better. I think with 4th&Tea: Great start between them. Liam: Great start. Yeah, great start. I'm gonna get better. So I think Josh Allen with weapons opened up the new stadium. My prediction is the Bills winning. 4th&Tea: The bill's Easy. We're locked. Liam: Jamie, we're locked. We're locked. The only thing just to say for the Lions, I mean, their pass rush and their front in the defense is looking good. It came out for them in the end. So we'll see if they can do anything and get to Josh. But I mean, the back end that the the depth there is just atrocious. So I just can't see them stopping Josh. Ultimately. 4th&Tea: No. If Houston Texans couldn't really lay a glove on him, I don't see how the Lions do it. Liam: Right, so on to the next one. Panthers at Jamie's Falcons. 4th&Tea: Whoa, whoa, let's say Jamie's Falcons. That's outrageous. I can't believe you just said that. Wow. Thank you. Liam: I just just said meow. I just said meow my foot. Jamie's Panthers at the Falcons. 4th&Tea: Thank you. That's much better. Yeah, Panthers Falcons, obviously divisional matchup, NSC South, great division. We won't have all four teams losing this week. Guaranteed. Liam: Yeah. Off off the basement. Yeah. 4th&Tea: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So you can't see any more memes about how bad this division is. It's a good division, which needs some time to get it all to click together for us. no Panthers swept the Falcons last season, 130 nil at home. I think we went overtime. We scored 40 odd points against them in their own back garden last season. Bryce Young's on fire. There's not there's only one quarterback who's thrown more touchdowns then. Mr. Bryce Young so far this season and he still lost by 22 points. But Jalen Coker was on fire, career game. Darren Wallace has been left out today in terms of resting, but apparently it's just a rest day. He'll be back and fit for Sunday. So another good weapon for us, even though he's about 33 and he's better at rapping than he probably is at football right now. But still another good weapon for the Panthers. And I don't know what the Falcons are yet again. I've got no idea. mean, I know they only just lost to the Steelers. But we don't know who, as we mentioned earlier in the news, who's going Liam: Yeah. Without a core Yeah. 4th&Tea: play quarterback? Do they need one? You know? Liam: Without a quarterback, what are we hoping for from them? Is Cooperus the quarterback? 4th&Tea: Yeah. Yeah. Liam: If he is, fine. But like I'm not pi I'm not picking him over the Panthers at the minute, I think. Bijan is a problem. Like Bijan is the man. 4th&Tea: He is. Do you know what? We couldn't stop Deandre Liam: Yeah. So 4th&Tea: Swift, could we? Liam: That's the only thing for you, like Bijon. But Bijon is different. But all that being said, Jamie, who are you picking? 4th&Tea: Panthers Bio 20 Liam: you're even going by 20. You know what? For the second week in a row, Jamie, we're both going Panthers. What could go wrong? 4th&Tea: Let's go 2-0, come on! Liam: Browns at Buccaneers. So talking about NFC South getting off the basement. If the books aren't doing it here, well, I don't know. I don't know. 4th&Tea: Surely. Come on. Liam: I want to hear. I want to hear that guy being like, fire the cannons. Like, I want to hear that all night. You know, look at you. You're just jealous that they've got a pirate ship in their stadium. Who who else has? 4th&Tea: Yeah, I Liam: You're jealous, Jamie. And then, right? Bookie Irving looked good. I think that was one of the big question marks in the whole league coming into the season. I think there's room there for Egg Bucher to get better. Baker Mayfield looked good if he's not turning over the ball. So 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: The defence had moments as well. I mean, that is a problem, but the defence had moments as well. You could I mean you could argue that that's a scary offense in Cincinnati that did okay, mainly off the back of the Bucks mistakes. So I don't think there's much conversation here. The Browns did a couple of little bits in the passing game at the end, which I don't think are gonna even amount to anything. It was garbage time ultimately. I've got nothing much to say about them. They clearly don't even have a quarterback. And what can you do without a quarterback? So my prediction the Bucks by thirty. Go on. 4th&Tea: Only 30? Yeah, I mean... Liam: You know what? I just a bit too scared to say more. I mean it's gotta be by thirty, hasn't it? They've gotta make a bounce back, they've gotta try and make a point, so 4th&Tea: if it wasn't for the turnovers probably beat the Bengals, but that's just football isn't it? Just keep Liam: The game. 4th&Tea: the ball, you know, but against the Browns, don't Liam: Don't do turnovers. 4th&Tea: just don't if they they Liam: The bounce the bounce. 4th&Tea: turn the ball over against the Browns and then Baker Mayfield might be finished. But actually, to be Liam: Okay. 4th&Tea: fair, against his old team, he's going to want to properly... Liam: Gonna run a r you know, he got kicked out of there because he 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: got injured. Like he's gonna wanna like show them too right. Also, how good is that now forking them before the first week? Wow. 4th&Tea: Yeah, as we said, the worst team in NFL as well. So great shout Liam: we both predicted the winners of this one already, haven't we? So Okay. 4th&Tea: Yes, the box, yeah. Liam: On to the next. Right, Jamie. Vikings at Bears. Good one. 4th&Tea: Good attitude, very good game, especially for a a red zone 6pm slate. Obviously both teams were last week as well. Vikings obviously had that mad 29 point recovery against the against the Packers. Massive NSC North game actually already, I think this will go a long way to cement second behind the lines. Not the best going when it bears. mean, they want to score 60 plus points every single game by the sounds of it. They've got the weapons to do it. They didn't reuse Loveland, didn't reuse Odunze. Do they try and get them involved more in this game? Maybe, but they didn't need to against the Panthers and still scored 59. So I think it's actually a really interesting matchup. However, I think the Bears just have way too much. Vikings quarterback situation. You're going away to Chicago with Carson Wentz. Maybe when he first come into it. Liam: Carson, the man. 4th&Tea: So the man I mean, I would say he pulled it back in his packers. It was more the defense really, but I don't think the Vikings got enough Hmm Liam: Do you know what he did? I mean, it depends how much you love JJ. Justin Jefferson. He 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: is a machine. Carson Wentz just went, I have I'm not prepared for this. I'm just a pro. And he just went, and I've got a man. So he just threw it and threw it and threw it to Justin Jefferson all game. And it was class. I mean, he obviously hit 4th&Tea: It did work. Liam: other people, but like, you know. He's he just not afraid to pull that trigger. But all that being said, the Bears are a Swiss army knife, they didn't even use a Dunze and Loveland. Like they're saving it till when they need it. Like, try and stop what we've got at the minute. 4th&Tea: we know we're going with the bears on. Liam: Maybe, let's see. Brian Flores defense, did you see that? What mad blitz percentage? Like he blitz like thirty percent like he blitz in the fifties out of like sixty plays, like fifty out of every sixty plays, something on something on the lines of that. He's a I love that bloke. But who are you going with? 4th&Tea: affairs. Liam: You said that, didn't you? 4th&Tea: Pes. Pes. Liam: I was hoping I was hoping I could convince you to change. So we're not going the same, but I'm going the Bears as well. It's 4th&Tea: best. Liam: gonna be hard to go against the Bears, isn't it? the next one. Eagles at Titans. So what can we say? Titans, pretty underwhelming. I mean, Cam Ward, are we here? We've got a couple of weapons now. It just looked lackluster on defence and offense, didn't it? It's the Jets. Yes, the Jets looked good, but I don't think the Jets became that good over preseason and like the offseason. So the Titans really need to try and have a bounce back. I don't think the Eagles are the t the team you do that against. The defence looked really solid. Jalen Hurts looked I'm gonna say pretty comfortable. Like there's still a ceiling to be achieved on the offense, but Jalen Hurts looked pretty comfortable, a bit of running yards hitting Wicks, hitting 4th&Tea: Mmm. Liam: Goddard Hitting Devontae Smith, their three solid options that he he's you know, the fact that he's adding Wicks into the mix is gonna pick up some of the slack. Devonta Smith isn't AJ Brown, but he's really good. I think he's a solid number one, made some really clutch plays. And then Goddard's helping to fill that that gap from AJ Brown along with Wicks. And that looked really good. Like when that was going a little bit concerning that the running game wasn't it's not there in the way that I thought it would be. I thought Segor might have an on fire year, but it's not. So 4th&Tea: I thought he would. Liam: all that being said, I thought it would it didn't look like it doesn't look like the offensive line's there. I heard they've got some injuries on the offensive line all that being said, it was still okay and I think the Eagles should walk away with this one. But what are you about to say? What are you gonna tell me? 4th&Tea: not even a conversation is it if the Titans can't beat the Jets and not even just not even Compete with the Jets right you Tony Polar you couldn't even get rushing more than 40 yards You you couldn't I think your top right receiver Liam: Matt. 4th&Tea: got less than a hundred yards So like what? What can you do? Got no chance Liam: really had some 4th&Tea: Sorry. Liam: good hopes, but now I'm like pfft Titans might be in the bin. 4th&Tea: straight to the bin. But we thought with like, Tate, they do quite Liam: No. 4th&Tea: well and stuff like that, but it's just not... I mean, it's only week one, so they might... who knows, they might surprise us. But annoyingly, I think... you've already said Eagles. Liam: My surprises. 4th&Tea: I'm about to say the Eagles as well, and we've just agreed for like, five straight games. Liam: Lock step. Jamie, we're locked. Five in a row. Anyway, maybe this we're going to say my this one. So 4th&Tea: It's gonna be six, because I know it's six. Liam: on to the next one. Saints at Ravens. 4th&Tea: Yeah, do you know what, when we decide who's going to preview what game and that sort of stuff, I tried to really give the Saints a chance at Baltimore, But they don't have one. And it's also the fourth and T team. So realistically, I'm going to back the fourth and T team for this season in every single game they play, unless they play against Panthers, but they don't. So we know it's gonna be the Ravens, right? Lamar Jackson looks on fire, passing game's on fire. Dave Flowers obviously had the hamstring injury, so I don't know whether he's gonna play or not, but they've got weapons, Derek Henry looked unbelievably good. you know, didn't he? The King, long live. Liam: Derek Henry. He's the number one. You know what? I just love to see Derrick Henry on a roll. That's like a snowball when 4th&Tea: how he was on a roll. Liam: it's gone to the bottom of the hill. It's like, I'm coming. 4th&Tea: But for the Saints, you know what type shook looks good. It looks solid average, just above average. Liam: Mm? 4th&Tea: I love it. Good. They got a new rookie as well. I did just randomly bring in to for a fantasy as well, because he was free. Here we go. Velle. Velle. Velle. Devon Velle. But again, he looked decent. He was targeted. Yeah. Liam: He did Velle. Yeah, that's it. Devon Velle. Hang on, Jamie. 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: Valet Sorry Anyway, sorry. Okay. 4th&Tea: I thought you were going tell me technical difficulties and that's where you go with it. Liam: No. Some people just deserve a real shout out. Vele. There we go. 4th&Tea: Do know what? Nine targets, seven reception last week, six nine yards and one touchdown as well for Devon Verley but Liam: Velei. 4th&Tea: Ravens are gonna win this one easy. Liam: I'm gonna agree with you. Ravens for the win. On to the next one. Steelers at Patriots. So Quickly go over this one. Very workman like performance from the Steelers last week. Really solid defense. Efficien enough offense. You know, finding DK Metcalf. You know, Aaron Aaron Rodgers and DK have got that mind meld over the fact that they believe people live underneath Antarctica and that's why we don't travel there. So there's there's the lump point from last season. Then you've got then you've got Pittman as well. He's finding him. Sorry, I made Jamie laugh. Then you're you're 4th&Tea: That's good. Liam: finding him there as well. Friar Mouth disappeared last year. He's back. You got some weapons. I want to see a bit more from the running game. But New England, they're a different beast to the Falcons. So I think this is going to be a test of if the Steelers actually are good or not. For the Patriots, I think it's going to be. A much nicer week for them. It is not the Seahawks defense. Drake May, it wasn't the Sea and Ghost game, but Drake May was like under pressure. He they was getting after his passes. Like they was like, look, he's not ripping like Max Stafford. It's a great video of I think I believe it's Jordan Love before he intercepted. He's like, look, he just takes a second to rip it, so you jump, and then they all started to jump, and they all started to jump, and then he intercepted it. And it's just like you have to be Matt Stafford level passer to phase that defense. they it and and that all being said, Drake Mae did okay. He just got those in like it's the interceptions that killed them. So the running game's looking solid. They need to find something or someone to catch the passes, though. AJ Brown, he's gonna be out for a few weeks. They've got dubs. We mentioned dubs on every podcast, the only player we've mentioned on every podcast. Dubes. But Doobs didn't like, you know, he got three targets and I think he dropped them all. Yeah. So 4th&Tea: Yep. Liam: he's got to step up, you know. They're going to Mr. Freaky Feet himself, you know. They got Hunter Henry. so yeah. The Warriors. There, so they're going to him. and he's not that good. It's just more that I think he can be competent. So that being said, I just believe in the squad power of the New England Patriots more. Then the Antarctic civilization believing Steelers say my pick is gonna be the New England Patriots. 4th&Tea: I've really tried to pick the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Obviously, they won their last season as well. Drake, there was about five turnovers, I think New England had. Monjay Stevenson fumbled it, I think twice. Drake May fumbled it, intercepted as well. But I'm going for the New England Patriots. Too good on defense, I think, for Liam: Awesome. 4th&Tea: Steelers. There you go. Liam: Mate. Jamie were an absolute lockstep. But 4th&Tea: locked again. Liam: Bengals at Texans, Jamie. 4th&Tea: very good game again, think Texans have what a schedule. Bill's come into your town and then you've got the Bengals come in, obviously a little bit easier. Obviously, Joe Burrow is bad back as well. Come into town. So it's got to be an interesting one. A lot more weapons I get. Is it a lot more weapons compared to King K and DJ Moore? Probably is in terms of stature, I guess. Only the element of see of Chase Brown as well for the Bengals. But. don't like the Bengals defense that much and I don't think they showed themselves to be above average. Obviously lost a Trey Hendricks injure in the summer so and it didn't look great against the Baker Mayfield with a couple of fumble with him as well so I am going obviously for the Houston Texans. Liam: Yeah, I think with a Burroughs potentially injured, shock horror that that's happening to the Bengals. It's gonna be a struggle to see how they can overcome that Texans defence, isn't it? And even though they lost, I was encouraged by the Texans as thought, you know, they're gonna mix it up with the powerhouses of the AFC. got yeah, that's I was gonna say got quite excited. They've got a running game. Come on, Montgomery. They've got, you know, they've got weapons, they've got Nico Collins. So you know what? They're gonna be mixing it up at the end of the year and I'm also gonna be picking the Texans, Jamie. So yeah. Full lockstep. Okay, one last game of the early slate, and we're gonna recap on what our predictions are so far. So Jamie, Packers at Jets. 4th&Tea: Well, obviously, actually quite a more interesting game than I would have thought it would have been more competitive game than I it would be. I. Liam: Agree. Agree. You're not predicting this before the season. You're not predicting this is a good game 4th&Tea: It is right, because... No. Liam: before the season. 4th&Tea: Because now I've seen the packers have got giant holes in them. I don't know, I can't trust them with a lead. Especially away from home. Liam: What have the have the bears cheese graters have the have the bears cheese graters been at them? 4th&Tea: lots of holes in them well it's like swiss cheese isn't it so that's the so then you but then you got the jets who went to the titans and won and won quite convincingly and they look solid genosmith looks solid as well just did stuff like just basic just simple football good weapons as well good running back obviously then you got garrett wilson as well and wire receiver so this could be one we disagree on But going for a risk. I'm backing the New York Jets to go 2-0 and beat the Green Bay Packers. Liam: Jamie, I love it. The yeah I think the Jets look good, but I think we might look back on the season and say they were playing the Titans who you know. 4th&Tea: the Titans with this, yeah, probably get a second or third pick. Yeah. Liam: Yeah, they might even get the first. Yeah, you know, so I mean that would be wild if they did, but still I think Jordan Love's got something to prove. The Packers have got something to prove. They let it slip. So first misstep of the night, I'll go with Packers. The Green Bay Packers. to quickly go over our prediction so far. We both think that the Bills are gonna beat the Lions in Buffalo. We both think that the Panthers are gonna beat the Falcons. We both think that the Buccaneers are gonna beat the Browns. We all are thinking as well that the Bears are going to beat the Vikings. Then we think the Eagles are going to beat the Titans, the Ravens to beat the Saints, the Patriots to beat the Steelers, and the Texans to beat the Bengals. And the only difference we have in the early sleigh is I'm backing the Packers to beat the Jets, and you're backing the Jets to beat the Packers. 4th&Tea: hilarious back in the Jets to actually win a game but there you go. Liam: Jamie, Jamie's Jets. It sounds good. It's gonna be your first love affair of the pod. You're gonna be a little Jets fan. You're gonna be walking around with those little plane wings, just like, woo, 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: Jets, Gino. Mate, welcome to supporting a winning team's quarterback, Gino Smith. now we're jumping into some of the later games. Jamie, you're gonna kick us off with Raiders at Ch. Hodgeous spicy. 4th&Tea: Basement battle the AFC West right well the Raiders go What do I think about them Kirk cousins with Ashton Gent in the backfield out wide? Playing every single position basically as well for the Raiders on offense apart from offensive line They look good. They look dangerous Obviously Brock Bowers is still out as well. So obviously one less weapon for them But they got the job done against Miami Dolphins. That's that's my that's the Liam: Jamie, you have a got you know what? I mentioned your love affair with the Jets, but you love the Raiders as well. 4th&Tea: I love Kurt Cousins though, Kurt C. Chains. Liam: Kirco Chains. 4th&Tea: you've got the Chargers and you think, well, they've let Jacoby Brissette come into their own back garden, the LA Ramses house, and beat them. I've actually this is probably the most difficult game that I've had to predict so far maybe this whole week. I've backed the Chargers just because surely they beat the Raiders but then the Cardinals are worse than the Raiders. I'm going Chargers. I'm backing Justin Herbert with no O-Line, no wide receivers and average tight end core. Liam: My guy. I did see a good one on the NFL channel today. Colleen Wolf predicted that just that Justin Herbert is gonna break his own Russian record purely for the fact that he's gonna be running for his life more than ever. But again, I mean that being said, can I pick the Raiders? Jamie, I'm with you. I'm going for the Chargers. And with that, 4th&Tea: Yep. Liam: we're just going to go on to the next one. We're going to go to the next one. Jaguars at Broncos. Also, what a slate of games I have to say. Because this is another good game that I'm buzzing to see. Jaguars on the rise, but is it the truth you're playing the Browns? It's the same thing we said about the Jets. Is it the truth when you're playing the Browns? So really. The Jag season starts here. Okay. But they look good. They look good on on all units. As I le as I like to say a lot, they look look good on all units. Parker Washington, click in. Running game, click in. Trevor Lawrence didn't even have to run. I think he had like three yards or three rushes. One of the two stats are correct. But he like didn't even have to like unleash the big horse boy legs. So they are comfortable. Their their week starts here. Broncos just got completely owned on Monday night football. Monday? On Monday night football by the Chiefs. And it wasn't because they couldn't defend the pass, they defended the pass really well. But what they couldn't do, minus a couple of passes, but they just could not stop the run. I don't even think Bo Nicks and the offense were that bad. I just think they could not stop the run. Which I think an interesting matchup against the Jaguars who passed all over the Browns. but in theory I think they could be a decent running team as well. Bonicks intercepted after first drive. Was it intercepted, Jamie? Fact check there. 4th&Tea: Yeah, intercepted first drive. Liam: Yeah. But then after that, I mean, with their running game, they they just I mean, I they just need to use JK Dobbins more. When he gets going, he's so good. I know RJ Harvey's got it and people love him in fantasy, but I think JK Dobbins is like his only downside is he gets injured. but I mean, up at mile high, wanting to do a bounce back, that's a hard place to go and play for the Jaguars. So I'm gonna throw this into you, Jamie. Who 4th&Tea: Ooh. Liam: are what have you got to say? And who are you picking? 4th&Tea: OK, I'll start with who I'm picking because. I like him as well, he's the Jaguars. I'm going I'm back in the Jaguars to go to go to Mo High and get a win, right? And then you've got the reason is I just like the Jaguars and I dislike the Broncos. Nothing personal against them, the Broncos fans. Super Bowl 50 still burns quite deep in me. So I'm always going to aside against them. But I did back them on last Monday night football and they let me down. So that's why I'm back in the Jags because I've watched Bo Nicks against the Chiefs. So I think a below average defense. I know, kill me. You know, they, I mean, they got to Trent Mcduffey. looked, piecewise, they didn't look that good. So, and the Broncos struggled. So I'm back in the Jaguars to win this one. It's a good game. Liam: a good game so I'm gonna back the Broncos again I'm gonna back 4th&Tea: Ooh. Liam: the duh I'm gonna back the Broncos to beat the horse boy that's what I'm going with but purely because I don't know if that Chiefs running game looked unreal And that might 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: be a just complete difference making unit for the whole of the NFL. I think other than that, I think the Broncos defense might just be able to step up. and purely because it's at Mile High Stadium, Broncos are at home, I'm gonna go with the Broncos. Seahawks at the Arizona Cardinals. So I'm gonna cover this one for my beloved Hawks, the st the Super Bowl champions one and still at the top. Let's start there. They've got Drew Lock. Drew locked in. Okay, we've got the defense, and we've got a guy who's gonna do what he needs to do. I d don't know what else to say. JSN's still a man. Not quite convinced by the rest of the Seattle offense yet. That's more to do with Drew Locke, though, I think. so I mean mad defense. look, let's okay attack. But the Cardinals really, really showed up. They beat the Chargers. Again, this is gonna be like a double down and proved what you are. Prove what you are. They beat the Chargers and they made it look like they've got an offense that is popping. You know, hit Trey McBride, hit Wilson. They've got some other I mean, Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't really do much, but like, you know, he's part of an efficient. you know, three wide receivers and a tight end that catches the ball. I think it's Bourne is that third wide receiver. He had a few nice catches. running game looking okay, feeding Algier, who's always been able to do bits. Jeremiah Love got his touchdown. I mean, let's see what's happening. Like they look functional on offense. The defense, that's what I don't know if I expected. But you know, Le Falore, the new head coach came in. Yes, he was the last head coach to get hired, so he might not have had his pick of candidates, but he didn't get rid of the defensive coordinator. And now they've got a lot of players back from injury. So are we just seeing that defensive dream, what they envisioned coming to life? Maybe. And if you've got the functional offense of, you know, Jacoby Brissett slinging it. Like I said, that's where he's just there going, here you go, boy. Here you go, chap. He's just like he's backing his good wide receivers and tight end to catch it. He's got solid running game. The defense is looking good. So I'm gonna say, why not the Cardinals at home? Not that I think that's a great home field advantage, but really can they overcome the Seahawks defense, which is an absolute powerhouse. So I'm gonna go with the Seattle Seahawks. 4th&Tea: Good pick. Well actually what a surprise. Sealks fan picked Sealks. I agree. Liam: What surprise? 4th&Tea: I agree it will be the South Sealks. I actually think the Cardinals win was not a fluke because I think the charges are bad. But as you said we're going to find out exactly what the Cardinals are. Which is probably a bottom five team in the NFL and against a top two team in the NFL. I don't think they stand a chance. Liam: No. I think that they're only gonna be that low because they're in a freak show of div of a division. But I think the Cardinals gonna win at least six games. Anyway, on to the next one. Jamie Dolphins at 49ers. Our o the OAPs. 4th&Tea: The yeah, the OAPs. I mean, this is going to be one of the easiest games to call. think 49ers turned up like we didn't expect against the other Rams just because we were all led to believe the Rams were really good. 49ers look good. Mike Evans looked young. He looked like he had a bit in him still for the 49ers. Purdy obviously does what he does. He, you know, it's such a good he fits in that in that team so well and dictates it. like a good little system quarterback that he is. And yeah. Liam: Jamie Jamie, I think you hate Brock Purdy. I think you've got a proper problem. 4th&Tea: Do I? Do you- So, I do. Liam: Yeah. 4th&Tea: I do. Liam: You can't give him his flowers. You just have to like, and they've got little Brock Purdy. He fits that system And I'm like, mate, 4th&Tea: Hey, day. Liam: he is ripping up and you're there like, they've got little Brock Purdy, good job, he can play in a system. 4th&Tea: I feel like you could put a lot of callbacks in that system and they do quite well. Liam: Yeah, but they've picked Brock Purdy. 4th&Tea: Well yeah, only because no one else wanted him right at end of the draft. Liam: They're not playing Mac Jones. 4th&Tea: Yeah, where's Mac Jones? Yeah, get Mac Jones in. Liam: Yeah, I mean that Mr. Irrelevant that Mr. Irrelevant tag. 4th&Tea: you Liam: That Mr. Irrelevant tag is so awful, isn't it? 4th&Tea: It is, it is. He deserves it. Liam: Right, sorry, I interrupted y I interrupted your flow. I interrupted your flow of Niners hating. 4th&Tea: That's fine. But although I'm, you know, I've got the hatred for them. don't really, they're fine. They're okay. They're there. They're not going to do much this season, but they will be the dolphins by 40 because the dolphins, think are useless. Liam: Woo. 4th&Tea: What have you got? Liam: I mean yeah, we'll see. We'll see. I'm going niners as well. I think it's gonna be interesting to see if this wide receiver does come out. Couple of wide receivers got some points. Just feels like that I don't know, Malik Willis just doesn't have options, bless him. But yeah, great defense from the forty niners. Great weapons, you know, aging but still good, you know, fine wine. That's what You know what we won't call them the OAPs, we're gonna call them our fine wine. That's what it is. Until they start losing. but yeah, I'm gonna go with the 49ers as well. So, on to the next commanders at Cowboys. So, Commanders came across better than I thought they would. Cowboys came across way worse than I thought they would. In my head, I'm thinking. Are they just meeting somewhere in the middle? It's gonna be a very competitive match. They've both got these new defensive rookies, but I mean, Sonny Styles for the Commanders. I don't know if you saw that play where he just rushes through someone trying to block for Saquon, smashes through him, and just chops Saquon down. Like that's a big like that happening is like a big killer of the running game, which is really the only thing, you know. So flowers to fl I need a flower noise or symbol or something so that flowers to Sonny Styles and the commanders for turning up. that is what the Cowboys had. They had like some solid run in. They didn't they wasn't clicking on offense, but the running game to me was working better than the passing game. one thing that I was looking up though, Dak Prescott never puts a big numbers in week one. So that is going to bounce back. Don't know why, but that's just He's never put up decent numbers in 4th&Tea: you Liam: week one. So I'm expecting the Cowboys to elevate their game. I mean, Jaden Daniels, to me, worryingly, didn't have anything reliable to pass to either. Like I wasn't enthralled by that game, even though he was hitting some targets. I'm gonna be going with a defence that has to show up at home and an offense that I think has got, you know, not close to its ceiling yet. And I think the commanders might have been like performing well last week against the Eagles. So I'm gonna go with the Cowboys. Cowboys 4th&Tea: How cowboys how about them cowboys? I I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm also backing the cowboys. I They just got so many more weapons So many more weapons compared to compared to what the commanders have got and defensively, I think they're a better unit than what the commanders are as well So I think in all forms of football on paper, the cowboys should win So i'm backing the cowboys Cowboys Liam: paper. Cowboys Right, on to the next one. Sunday night football, Jamie. Colts at Chiefs. 4th&Tea: Yeah, I mean, it doesn't it doesn't I don't know why, but just Colts on prime time doesn't doesn't get my juices flying thing. Am I going to risk only sleeping for three hours tonight because I want to watch the Colts play a game of football? Probably not. But they, you know, they they put up a little bit more than I thought they would against the Ravens for about three quarters until the Ravens blew them away last week. Chiefs, they blew away the Broncos. I mean, they defensively, they looked on it. they looked hungry on defense, which is a great sign of a Liam: Chiefs look good. 4th&Tea: good, good. And then obviously my homes, I mean, he just looked back to normal, but just looked back to himself as he did, pre injury and now post injuries. So I can't look any further. mean, even Travis Kelsey looked, you know, not 50, like he did last season. and then Kenneth Walker. What a weapon. Why would the Seals let him go to give him to the Chiefs of all teams as well? Liam: how bad does that John Snyder clip look now when he was like when he lied about Kenneth Walker trying to like negotiate with him? 'Cause he did hear you come out about that after and was like, he didn't even try and negotiate with me. I 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: was just nervous on stage yet and I just said it. 4th&Tea: Hehehehehe Liam: He looks so awful now. Like 4th&Tea: no. Liam: mad. Like the game and price looked okay, but like imagine Kenneth Walker back on the Seahawks. Unreal. 4th&Tea: Yeah. Liam: Anyway, sorry, different game, different team. He looked amazing on the Chiefs. So happy for him. 4th&Tea: Exactly. Any, any, I think they've had a bit of a weird one with running backs. they just seem to just cycle through a load of running backs last three or four years for the chiefs. Now they've got a piece where you're like, this is an elite top end running back top, easy top five running back in the NFL right now. So I can't look any further than the chiefs steam rolled in the colts. I did with the Broncos. Liam: Agree, Jamie. I think the Colts looked hungry on defense, but they could not stop Big Derrick. And I don't know how they're gonna stop the Walker, the s the Jedi himself, Kenneth Walker. The that makes no sense, but that's what I've said. I can only see the Chiefs winning. So, last game, Monday night football, Giants at the Rams. I've got to start. By addressing two things, I gave out a little bit of Giants hate. I'm sorry, don't cancel me. I also dished out a little Rams hate. And guess what? I ain't saying sorry for it, Jamie. I meant all of it. I hate the Rams, it's okay. Sorry, we're a neutral podcast. Back in my box. But I loved every I know I said I hated the unit on the Giants, but I loved it. I absolutely loved it in that first game, and I've been hyped about them ever since. They're exciting. Jackson Dark Cam Scatterboo stealing my heart. You know, I heard some fishy stuff about neighbours kind of being forced to play. But anyway, Isaiah Lightly always liked him, liked the Lightly, and he was on fire. The Rams, I'm glad we called it. How are you only going to be somewhere for 24 hours and try to play an NFL game? It was dumb. But now they've got Miles Garrett on IR. 4th&Tea: Hmm. Liam: Was they s was they clicking on offense? The running game, yeah, a bit. And I mean they did have the lead in the second quarter, but man, I I need to see it a little bit more. So I mean, Sean McVeigh, he's got something to prove. Jamie, I'm going with the giants. 4th&Tea: I can't believe it. Okay. How have we got to week two of a new football season and you're back in the New York Giants in one week, I'm back in the New York Jets in the same week to go 2-0 for both New York teams. What's going on? Liam: New York's on fire. East Coast is a new West Coast baby. That's what it is. East 4th&Tea: Hey, Brady. Liam: Coast, the new West Coast. That's it. The big apple's back. 4th&Tea: That is crazy. I'm back in the Rams. The Rams are still the Rams. I think we need to remember they're still a good team. Or are they? I guess we'll find out on Monday Night Football. Liam: the light shine brightest in New York, baby. That's what it I mean it's in LA, but you know, you get what I mean? I'm loving it, man. I just I I quite I just enjoyed I mean, yeah, it might be a symptom of terrible Cowboys defense that I don't even know if it exists. But the Giants Mate, we gotta we gotta back something in life and I've I really put them in the bin. So I'm gonna back them all away. Now. We'll see how I feel next week. Okay, so to just summarise the late window and the Sunday night and Monday night football, we've got Liam and Jamie back in the Chargers. What have I forgot? We're back in the Chargers. 4th&Tea: Yeah, back in the Chargers. Liam: Yeah, then I've got the Broncos to beat the Jags, Jamie's got the Jags to beat the Broncos, we've both got the Seahawks to beat the Cardinals, both got the fine wine forty niners beating the Dolphins. We've both got the Cowboys to beat the Commanders. Both got the Chiefs to beat the Colts and you've got the Giants to beat the Rams under the big lights of Monday Night Football, and Jamie's backing the superstar Rams to do it and get their first win. So just to jump into the next section, we're gonna quickly do players. To avoid starting this week in fantasy. Jamie, do you wanna kick us off? 4th&Tea: Yeah, and strangely enough, it kicks off, obviously, the week of football. So my player is Jared Goff, quarterback for the Detroit Lions. Everyone knows they've got two offensive tackles also out missing for the game, according to reports today, day before the game starts. So, yeah, I think Jared Goff avoid away the bills at the high mark. Don't do it. Bench. Liam: And my one, it's not a shocker, but after my comments about the Rams, I'm saying to avoid Devontae Adams. Not much happened in the first week. We joke about the fine wine 49ers, but he should be on that team. So maybe he's there, maybe he's not. So I think avoid starting Devontae Adams of the Rams. Cool. Next one is our forkham section. This is where we pick a team to add to the pile. And we're gonna fork them. And it means that we don't believe they're getting into the playoffs. So last week we actually forked the Browns before week one. That was so right. Jamie, who are you considering for our week two forkham? 4th&Tea: There's after after week one, there is a couple of couple of maybe easy ones actually for us. But I would like to put forward the yeah, the Miami Dolphins Liam: Ooh. 4th&Tea: on the list. Liam: Fish boys. Go on, give me like 4th&Tea: Who the fish? Liam: one reason why. 4th&Tea: Stupid dolphins. Liam: The fish, the fish. Wa wow. 4th&Tea: got no wire receivers. Liam: Sorry, we're not a s we're not an anti dolphin podcast. Sea spiracy's gonna come and report us. 4th&Tea: Exactly. The reason is Malik Willis won't take a team to the playoffs. They don't have wire receiver core. They have one good piece running back. Obviously doing H & outside of that. I can't see it. They can't even beat the Raiders. They got demolished. Seen off, cast away by the Las Vegas Raiders. Liam: Las Vegas Raiders. Yeah. So my nomination is the Tennessee Titans. They just looked putrid. They 4th&Tea: you Liam: made the they made the Geno Smith Jets look competent, comfortable, overachievers. I it makes me worry that I think that they've got more talent than the Dolphins, quite clearly, but I actually think the Dolphins had a bit more fight about them. So that is my nomination. And I think one is a bit more of a ta Titans being a more talented team, just playing rubbish. But there's just no talent on the Dolphins. So what are you what are you leaning more towards out of those? I think we was talking before we had our nominations ready. And I think we're leaning one way, but I think yeah, I think I'm leaning the other. 4th&Tea: seen that of me but now I'm thinking I'm laying in the upper as well. Liam: Go on, I'll let you call it this week. I'll r I'll really strongly disagree with you if you if you don't agree. But I I think we're going the same way. 4th&Tea: I'm gonna put the Miami Dolphins on Falcon. Liam: The fishman forked there we go, agree. So Right, cool. The Dolphins, they're our second fork team of the season. Okay, right. Last segment, our survivor of the week. So last week we both barely scraped through week 4th&Tea: You Liam: one with what we thought was an absolute certainty of picking the Lions, but we got there. We got there in the end. Squeaky bum time. Jamie, any any thoughts? Anyb anybody out there you're gonna go with? 4th&Tea: think there's the easiest game. Obviously last week was so easy. So the easiest game this week is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Liam: Mm-hmm. Fantastic. Okay. So you're locked in straight away. Just the Buccaneers to beat the Browns? 4th&Tea: straight away. Don't need to say anymore about the Browns, you know. Liam: No, we don't ever need to say any more about that team. So after okay, so couple of thoughts on t t teams we could go for. I mean Seahawks, Cardinals, maybe Eagles, Titans. That's a str that you know, Eagles would be a solid pick. I think Texans, Bengals, again, I think Texans would be a a good pick. But I'm I'm not going with you, Jamie, this time. We're gonna be, you know, potential winning scenario on our hands, but I'm gonna go with the forty nineers to beat the Dolphins for my survivor pick this week. So there we go. We've got a we've got a little battle on our hands. So Jamie, that's it. I mean, another week, another week in the back, another review in the back. Another one of Jamie's holidays in the back. But I I think we've done it proper, mate. 4th&Tea: We have, I think there's been some technical difficulties throughout the whole entire show and I apologize for being in the middle of a forest, but next week I'll be at home, proper wifi, no issues with signal and it'll be nice for the listeners and for us doing the podcast so we're not on the delay with each other. Liam: Tell you, Jamie, it's been a bit of a madness. I've been just predicting 4th&Tea: I'm Liam: when you're talking. There's gonna be some wild pauses in this one. So there we go. Cool. Right then, Jamie. What we're gonna say? Yeah. So come on, Drew Locke. That's who I'm going with this week. 4th&Tea: Bryce to own the Falcons again. Liam: So you mean come on Bryce? Come on. 4th&Tea: Come on, Bryce. Liam: Hey, this is the learning demand. Come on, Bryce. You know what? I'm on there. Come on, the fine wine 49ers. Let's get moved at Survivor. Then that's it. Thank you for listening. Like and subscribe. We're on all of the channels, YouTube, TikTok, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, the works. See you at the next pod. Peace and love.
