- 0:02Speaker 2: Oh is it time? Yes, that's right, it's hello.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sailor boy. I went to visit my sailor son, Festus
- 0:14Speaker 1: in San Diego to.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Go on his ship.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I did not Does he have a ship? He does
- 0:19Speaker 1: not have much.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Of a sailor.
- 0:21Speaker 1: There's lots of ships around.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Has he even been on a ship?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Yes, those are underways, Bill, he has done underways. But
- 0:30Speaker 1: he so he got his orders where he is going
- 0:32Speaker 1: to be stationed in the middle of nowhere for a year?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Was it something Diego or Diego Garcia? Diego Garcia.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And I'm I'm feeling like I need to see him
- 0:42Speaker 1: as much as I can because I don't know that
- 0:46Speaker 1: I will be able to see him while he's there.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We're hoping that maybe he can have leave and meet
- 0:51Speaker 1: us somewhere.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And Festus at the X ninety six dot com slash.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Is he still doing that stupid mustang? Is what that is?
- 1:04Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's just a not shaving. I
- 1:06Speaker 1: don't think that's trying to do a mustage.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Is that the baseball game?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we went. So we went to a Padres game
- 1:13Speaker 1: and it was really fun. They the Padres play at
- 1:18Speaker 1: pet Coast Stadium, which is in the middle of downtown
- 1:21Speaker 1: San Diego. And I was sitting there thinking about our
- 1:26Speaker 1: own possibility of getting a major League baseball team here
- 1:30Speaker 1: in salt Lake. And so this was on Saturday, and
- 1:33Speaker 1: they always put up the you know, attendance, it's the
- 1:36Speaker 1: it's the however many a game in a row that
- 1:38Speaker 1: we've sold out pet Coast Stadium and I on Instagram,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I didn't send Katie this, but there's video that I
- 1:45Speaker 1: took of the stadium. It's packed and said there were
- 1:49Speaker 1: forty three thousand people here today at pet Coast Stadium.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So this was an afternoon game, yeah, during the week,
- 1:56Speaker 2: on Saturdays.
- 1:57Speaker 1: On Saturday. But it got me thinking, Okay, the way
- 2:00Speaker 1: baseball works is like there'll be a home stand and
- 2:05Speaker 1: the Phillies come to town and you play several games
- 2:08Speaker 1: for several days, and I just do you think forty
- 2:14Speaker 1: thousand people are gonna go to a baseball game day
- 2:18Speaker 1: after day in Salt Lake?
- 2:20Speaker 2: No, I don't know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I wonder.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I think I think that's the problem. Salt Lake is made.
- 2:30Speaker 2: To be have a major League Baseball team, you have
- 2:33Speaker 2: to be a pretty big city.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And and I will say this, sitting there at that game.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It was really fun. The food was good, the energy
- 2:43Speaker 1: was good. It was fun to watch. It is a
- 2:45Speaker 1: different feeling watching a professional event, like do you have
- 2:49Speaker 1: a hot talk? I had a big pretzel, have a
- 2:52Speaker 1: beer and a beer? Yeah, I have a beer INFESTUS
- 2:55Speaker 1: is like, you don't drink beer? I said, I do
- 2:57Speaker 1: it baseball games. Give me a beer. Uh so, I
- 3:02Speaker 1: wonder how that, and I asked it. So he bought
- 3:06Speaker 1: the tickets and he wouldn't tell me how much they are.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But he also had gone to a game previously, the
- 3:11Speaker 1: very top row, cheap cheap seats. I said, well, how
- 3:14Speaker 1: much were those? He said, those were forty dollars or
- 3:18Speaker 1: the cheapest of the cheapest of cheap seats, so he
- 3:20Speaker 1: probably paid. You know.
- 3:22Speaker 2: A couple three were down.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we were down kind of behind home plate. They
- 3:26Speaker 1: were good.
- 3:26Speaker 2: They were good, good seats.
- 3:28Speaker 1: But they're to visit fastus. I wanted to read this
- 3:31Speaker 1: to you quickly, so I went by his apartment. His
- 3:35Speaker 1: his friends were going shark fishing and they had bait
- 3:38Speaker 1: they had to put in his fridge to keep it
- 3:40Speaker 1: cold before.
- 3:41Speaker 2: They chief sharks. Sharks really like the big.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It's some bait they get from Walmart. It's like fish parts,
- 3:50Speaker 1: frozen fish parts they get.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll warm up once it gets out on the boat.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But so so I glanced down at the counter and
- 3:58Speaker 1: he Festus is doing the rotations in different clinics and
- 4:02Speaker 1: things where you get reviewed by the doctor there. So yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and I'm just going to read you this review because
- 4:07Speaker 1: I took a picture of it. I don't even think he.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Knows that this is a review from his superior.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yes, hard working and eager to learn. Is willing to
- 4:18Speaker 1: be uncomfortable and push himself for the sake of learning.
- 4:21Speaker 1: He's dedicated to his growth as a future medical provider
- 4:24Speaker 1: and genuinely cares about the patients and delivering quality patient care.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I see the photo you took of that, and it
- 4:31Speaker 2: says after that he just needs to get rid of
- 4:34Speaker 2: that stupid.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I mean that's I've tried talking to him about it.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He won't listen. You know, you can. You can try
- 4:42Speaker 2: and explain it away all you want by saying, oh,
- 4:44Speaker 2: I think he just didn't share. That's that's on purpose.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's that's a mustache, because there wasn't that kind of
- 4:50Speaker 2: hair on the rest of his face.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But he'll graduate in August. I'll go back in August
- 4:57Speaker 1: for that.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Then off to Diego, Garcia. Off to Diego and you
- 5:01Speaker 2: can't visit him there.
- 5:02Speaker 1: No, it is the only thing there is a military base.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'll bet, I'll bet he starts smoking cigars.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Oh, that was one of the things he said. So
- 5:11Speaker 1: we went to the Navy Exchange, which is like the
- 5:13Speaker 1: little store there on base, because I needed to. I
- 5:17Speaker 1: wanted to buy him some things for his moving and
- 5:20Speaker 1: he said one of the things, I'm like, what can
- 5:22Speaker 1: you take? What is okay? And he said, well, one
- 5:24Speaker 1: of the things that they're very specific about is you
- 5:27Speaker 1: can't bring more than two hundred cigarettes.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You can't bring more than two hundreds.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Like people would well, people would like bring them in.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's like prison.
- 5:36Speaker 3: You can barter with you can barter how many how
- 5:39Speaker 3: many cigarettes and a.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Cartin let's see, Well it's ten packs, twenty cigarettes to
- 5:44Speaker 2: a pack, twenty cigarettes to a pack.
- 5:46Speaker 1: With ten packs, you can't bring more than.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Two hundred cigarettes.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I said, you can bring the limits so you can
- 5:52Speaker 1: have some, you know, barter money. Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 2: He doesn't smoke, no, but he.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Said I might just bring some because apparently they're very valuable.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Well, I think you yeah, because we were told that
- 6:02Speaker 2: when we went to Russia. Yes, and uh, at first
- 6:06Speaker 2: I kind of poo pooed it. I didn't want to
- 6:08Speaker 2: do it, but but I then I did. Yeah. I
- 6:10Speaker 2: think I was still smoking though, wasn't I? Yeah?
- 6:13Speaker 1: But and could you use them?
- 6:16Speaker 3: When we were on the train heading out of the
- 6:18Speaker 3: country and the armed Russian guards got on the train
- 6:23Speaker 3: to search everybody and to search your stuff. Really, we
- 6:27Speaker 3: were told specifically you can't take rubles out. Do not
- 6:31Speaker 3: it's a jailable offense. Well, I had some, and I
- 6:34Speaker 3: had them in my comic book and the guard came
- 6:37Speaker 3: into my little area and was about to go through
- 6:41Speaker 3: the comic books, and I said here and handed him
- 6:43Speaker 3: a pack of reds and he went, thank you, put
- 6:46Speaker 3: him in his pocket and walked away.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It worked.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah. It was really cold on that train, and they
- 6:54Speaker 2: have these cold burning stoves at the end of the
- 6:57Speaker 2: train with an old woman who shovels the coal in there,
- 7:01Speaker 2: oh babushka, And it was getting kind of cold, and
- 7:04Speaker 2: I gave her a bunch of cigarettes and she started
- 7:06Speaker 2: shoveling coal. Well, there you go. Face's ball
- 7:14Speaker 1: Sailor boy
