- 1:26You, the podcast coming at you with some hot summer chillness
- 1:31today. Although it's not very chill
- 1:34because it's like almost 100 degrees outside.
- 1:36It's always hot in here. To my left is the purple hair
- 1:41Vixen Fantasy McAlister. I like that intro a lot better
- 1:45than what you've been calling me.
- 1:47Yes. And missing in action today is
- 1:49our Sex in the City ABG Emily P We just got back from Kansas
- 1:55City doing the Breakaway Festival and she is feeling
- 2:00under the weather. Yeah, she's a she called in
- 2:03sick. She's lying.
- 2:05I told her she's out of PTO already.
- 2:07She is. We're gonna have to dock her
- 2:10some points. Yeah, for attendance.
- 2:12Yeah, she's not getting any McDonald's from the bank
- 2:16account. No, joining us.
- 2:21Today have a very special guest. First time meeting him today and
- 2:26taking a look at his Instagram is one of the most beautiful
- 2:29male specimens I've ever seen in my life.
- 2:32He is very beautiful. Very.
- 2:33The one and only Columbus Berry. You're how y'all doing.
- 2:40You hear that voice? That's that's how his pictures
- 2:43look too. Yeah, he was supposed to come
- 2:47and sign, but he didn't bring us in.
- 2:48Sure, it's fine. I guess it's.
- 2:50Too good. I'm not outside for that shit,
- 2:51man. It is way too hot outside.
- 2:53How are you feeling today? Besides being hot?
- 2:55Tired. Tired.
- 2:57Yeah, Yeah. Very tired, very tired, yeah.
- 3:00Yeah, we normally don't record on a Monday, but special
- 3:03occasion today, Yeah, we're here on a Monday.
- 3:06Monday is always work, yeah. But this Monday will be fun.
- 3:11I promise. After we get into the
- 3:12conversation and after drinking, you're going to be like, wow,
- 3:15yeah, this is fun. Hopefully, hopefully, we get you
- 3:18to open up. Hopefully you enjoy this and our
- 3:20listeners enjoy this. So just to kind of like set the
- 3:23stage, tell us a little bit, like just about yourself again.
- 3:28So we didn't even fully say everything about you.
- 3:30But you're an R&B singer. You're songwriter, too.
- 3:32You're from Wichita. You bring music that's
- 3:35realistic, sexy, passionate, catchy and vulnerable.
- 3:39Yeah, yeah, pretty much. And yeah, so we're we're really
- 3:42excited to have you here. Tell us a little bit about just,
- 3:47you know, set the stage. Like what was your life like
- 3:49growing up, how many siblings you have, if you have any
- 3:51siblings, and what got you into? I I'm the youngest of four, OK?
- 3:59I got three half brothers and 1/4 brother.
- 4:03All born and raised in Wichita, KS actually in the same house.
- 4:06So my parents have been in the same house for 3536 years or
- 4:10something like that. My whole family is musically
- 4:14inclined and artistic. So either they draw, they do
- 4:17music or they play instrument. That's awesome, Yeah.
- 4:20So it was bound to happen. One of you know the Berry boys
- 4:26gets my dad's talent because my dad also had a brother, my
- 4:30uncle. Who was really good at music.
- 4:33And lo and behold, my dad had two boys.
- 4:36Me and my brother are pretty much my my dad and my uncle
- 4:39Butch rest his soul reincarnated.
- 4:43So my brother's always had an ear from music and I've always
- 4:46had the the the vocals or or socalled vocals.
- 4:51But yeah, pretty much grew up in a musical background.
- 4:55I mean, my dad's always done music.
- 5:00Growing up, I was very shy. Still I still am when it comes
- 5:03to like my craft. But a lot of people don't know
- 5:07this. Over 15 years ago, actually
- 5:09rapped before I sang Dang OK. People don't even know that
- 5:13part. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:14So, and a lot of my songs, if you hear somebody rapping on it,
- 5:18it's actually me. And I'm like, oh shit, who is
- 5:20this Me? It's me.
- 5:22But. I strayed away from it because
- 5:24it's like, you know, it got to the point.
- 5:26When I was young, I didn't know how to write.
- 5:27I didn't know anything about music.
- 5:29I just. We'll go on to the fucking
- 5:31dictionary.com and find words that rhymed with each other and
- 5:34put them together, just add no structure to it.
- 5:36And then as I got older, I realized that I could hold a
- 5:40note and I was like fuck at. There was it was to a certain
- 5:44point to where I wouldn't sing because that was my dad's
- 5:47passion, you know, and he didn't really get to fulfill his
- 5:50passion. So I felt like there was going
- 5:52to be some clashing there and I didn't want to, you know, over
- 5:54Shadow anything that he's done, but.
- 5:57It's time gets older and he's getting older and the situation
- 6:01that we talked about with this dementia and stuff like that,
- 6:03now I'm just it's kind of hit the fuck it button.
- 6:06It's either now or never. So that's what kind of got me
- 6:11into music. Is that so like for example,
- 6:16then like your dad. So how what was his reaction
- 6:19when you told him that you were going to pursue music?
- 6:24I didn't say it. I didn't tell him.
- 6:25Oh, OK. Yeah, He's only heard me sing in
- 6:26person twice. So yeah, I mean, I just kind of
- 6:31like, hey, ask dad what he thinks about this song and sent
- 6:33it to my mom. And she's like, wow, that's
- 6:36really good. I was like, yeah, that's me.
- 6:37I was like, what the hell? I was like, yeah, that's that's
- 6:40me. He's like, no, show me
- 6:42something. I was like, no, maybe some other
- 6:43time. You know what I mean?
- 6:44Because I just don't when it comes to singing in front of
- 6:48people. I just don't do it.
- 6:50I don't like it because it's like I'm automatically getting
- 6:52put in the box because I'm a singer, okay.
- 6:54So everybody expects me to sound like Usher, Trey Songz or
- 6:57somebody of that. And they it's just a lot of
- 6:59fucking stress. And then just the atmosphere
- 7:02that we're in, not a lot of people will sit down and
- 7:04actually listen to R&B. So it's like I don't have many
- 7:07times where I've only performed live, maybe two or three times.
- 7:11Yeah, so. I don't have very much
- 7:13experience like singing in front of people, but like when I get
- 7:15into a studio setting, it's just a different atmosphere.
- 7:17It's just me and my creative thoughts.
- 7:19So it's pretty much yeah. That's crazy though, cuz you
- 7:24have hella songs outright. Don't you have like 50 or
- 7:28something? Isn't that what you said you
- 7:29had? You had something 23.
- 7:31OK, I don't know where I got the other 30.
- 7:33No, I actually. Have like 15 or 20 that haven't
- 7:36been recorded yet they've. Already written, ready to be
- 7:38recorded? Yeah, yeah.
- 7:39So I do have probably. Altogether, my song catalog is
- 7:43probably 5050 or so songs. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:47But. I mean, takes me a while to do
- 7:49songs because I have to be in the mood.
- 7:51Yeah. Have to be in like majority.
- 7:53Songs that I have out came from me being in a mood.
- 7:56They're exactly what I was feeling in that time.
- 7:58Yeah, yeah. And a lot of songs that I've
- 8:00sang right there, I can't actually sing them just
- 8:03randomly. I have to be in that mood.
- 8:05Gotcha. To let like my emotions kind of
- 8:07out to do it, but the vulnerability part.
- 8:10No, just being in that mood. It's not the world really part.
- 8:12It's like if you're playing basketball, you're just going
- 8:16through the motion, making the threes.
- 8:17But when you're into it, I really make a lot of threes when
- 8:20I play. Basketball either, That's why I.
- 8:21Get that shit up in Grace. Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 8:25I'm. Like, say, say you're a girl,
- 8:27you're doing your makeup. One day you feel a little bit
- 8:31better, so you're putting the little wings and, you know, a
- 8:33little bit extra blush. On the next day you put makeup
- 8:35on, but you don't do it to a certain extent, cuz you're
- 8:37really not. You're like, I'm just gonna put
- 8:39something on just a little bit. Okay.
- 8:40So they know that I'm still. You know what I mean?
- 8:43Yeah. But that's exactly how it is
- 8:46with my songs. Like, it's gotcha a lot of
- 8:48times. I've almost pulled down half of
- 8:49the songs. Really.
- 8:51Yeah. Yeah, I.
- 8:51Almost pulled down half of the songs to be honest with you.
- 8:53All of my honesty all. Yeah, almost.
- 8:56Yeah. So is that does that go back to
- 8:58the what you were talking about earlier?
- 8:59Like sometimes you're just shy or you're just like, no, OK.
- 9:03Absolutely. I've listened to all these songs
- 9:05probably 150 times each, yeah. Before I put them on there.
- 9:08So now when I hear them, I notice every word that I've
- 9:11messed up that I wanted to change, or the words there
- 9:13wasn't fucking supposed to be in there.
- 9:14Yeah, yeah. And I'm like, fuck, now I want
- 9:18to change it. Yeah.
- 9:19Why did I listen to it that much?
- 9:20And it's a point where I just don't like the fucking song.
- 9:22And I won't listen to it for like months and months and
- 9:24months and I'll hear it again. I'm like, that's actually a
- 9:26pretty fucking good song. You're like, damn, I'm kind of
- 9:28talented. It's like, yeah, it's like when
- 9:30you it's it's like when you're when you.
- 9:33So I paint. And so sometimes it's like
- 9:34you're you're doing something and you're like and you're like.
- 9:37So fixated on one little issue that no one's going to notice
- 9:40except you. Yeah, I used to draw.
- 9:42So. Trust me, I understand that
- 9:43100%. It took me 3 1/2 years to draw
- 9:46Iron Man. Yeah, 3.
- 9:48And it got to the point. My teacher said just put it away
- 9:51Columbus, and come back and draw it.
- 9:52And one day I pulled it off from under my bed three years later
- 9:55and looked at it, threw that one away and freedrew the whole
- 9:59thing. I was like, what the hell is
- 10:00going on here? Yeah.
- 10:02But I get that for sure. When did you start pursuing like
- 10:07music then in general, kind of like what's the timeline?
- 10:12I wouldn't even say pursue music because I haven't done it
- 10:14consistently enough for it to be considered, you know, so on and
- 10:17off. Three years.
- 10:18Yeah. Oh, OK.
- 10:19Three years maybe. Yeah.
- 10:20Yeah. So this was when you were in
- 10:22Florida? No, here.
- 10:24You started here and then Virginia.
- 10:26Virginia, OK, right, right, right.
- 10:27Sorry. No, it's OK.
- 10:28I didn't. You didn't.
- 10:29I didn't tell you I lived in Virginia.
- 10:30Yeah, but I actually moved away from in 2017.
- 10:34I moved to Virginia for 3 1/2 years, and so something in
- 10:37Virginia sparked you to cry in the booth.
- 10:42Make a song. Out, Yeah, actually, yeah,
- 10:44that's actually. You're 100.
- 10:44Percent right there. Is a hidden song in there that
- 10:46nobody really knows about. Was at a very trying time in my
- 10:50life. I was actually admitted into a
- 10:51mental hospital and at one point, and I couldn't find a way
- 10:56for people to actually listen to what I had to say.
- 10:58So to express myself, I just went to music and that's when I
- 11:02actually started like singing. And then that was something
- 11:06like. I have a funny saying.
- 11:09As that used to say back in the day, women do not break my heart
- 11:12because it will end up in the song.
- 11:13It will be fucking amazing, OK? Too swift?
- 11:17Fucking amazing. I've been through some breakups
- 11:19in Virginia there and some of these songs and people are like,
- 11:22dude, you're a fucking asshole. I'm like, hey, that didn't get
- 11:24released. Yeah, just like little snippets
- 11:26of just like Freestyle and stuff just never got released because
- 11:29I was like, I'm not going to do that and full catalogs of songs
- 11:32that. Nobody will really know.
- 11:35They're acronyms for their names, but people don't actually
- 11:38look at that. They're like, what the fuck?
- 11:39Like just understand love. I'm around Julia, everybody.
- 11:45Nobody knows that except for all my best friends.
- 11:47It's like, dude, you're a fucking clever.
- 11:49I'm like, yeah. Nobody will.
- 11:50Ever know. Yeah, I found that I make beats
- 11:56a little bit and stuff and. I've had some heart breaks where
- 12:00I was like, damn, I made like some of those songs that I made
- 12:03during those times are some of my favorite ones, yeah.
- 12:06Yeah, yeah, just that's not a lie.
- 12:09Because it's just the amount of people that when I let that song
- 12:13out that like physically called me crying or physically told me
- 12:17their story, you know, it was kind of touching.
- 12:20But then it's like, fuck, I didn't realize what I just did
- 12:24you. Know what I mean?
- 12:25But again, it was like OK. I had to express myself because
- 12:29if I didn't, who knows if I would have been here or not
- 12:31because I was in that space. Like it was bad.
- 12:34It was very bad considering I was in a mental hospital and
- 12:36almost died twice in there. So that kind of knew what death
- 12:40felt like and it started to feel normal every single day.
- 12:43I started to feel that exact feeling of when I was dying.
- 12:46So I was like, fuck, I got it or something.
- 12:48I got to let this shit out and boom.
- 12:52So was that like your first experience then that brought you
- 12:56into releasing music? Or were there still other times
- 12:59where you did that first and then some pivotal moment
- 13:02happened? No, it was like I was dibbling,
- 13:04dabbling in it. My buddy Sammy, best friend
- 13:07Sammy's like, man, why don't you just finish song, 'cause I
- 13:08always send him like snippets. It's just random bullshit.
- 13:11Yeah, I got 700 and something voice memos on my phone just.
- 13:15Like if ideas and shit and I'll send it to me like yeah, yeah,
- 13:18yeah. But in that instance it kind of
- 13:20like just sparked everything. So kind of went downhill from
- 13:24there. Mmhm.
- 13:26Well not to get too deep, but I mean we know that you said that
- 13:30you use music to express real life feelings, so and you
- 13:34mentioned already like that you use acronyms.
- 13:39So just curious, how do you translate some of those personal
- 13:42experiences into songs and then help that like resonate with
- 13:45others? Or is it really just like this
- 13:47is for me first and then if it? Sometimes it's the only way I
- 13:53can create something. Because I'll go weeks and weeks
- 13:56at a time and can't really think of something.
- 13:57So I have to dig really, really deep and put myself back.
- 14:00I'm into that mindset. That's another reason why it
- 14:02takes me so long, because some of these songs that, you know, I
- 14:05kind of go in there and really there's a lot of songs that I've
- 14:09written that I haven't released yet.
- 14:11And there's certain reasons why because I have to get into a
- 14:13certain mindset and it's kind of hard to pull myself out of that
- 14:16mindset. Once I get into that mindset, it
- 14:19could. There's no telling.
- 14:21How long did it take me to get back out of that mindset?
- 14:23So I kind of don't want to go into that depth of it just yet,
- 14:27if that makes any sense. But majority of the songs, like,
- 14:30look at the fucking names of them, like it's it literally
- 14:33says, yeah, exactly what I'm like.
- 14:36Everything that I'm saying is everyday life for anybody.
- 14:40Yeah, like sex on me. Is that the one that says that
- 14:42right there? What are you talking about?
- 14:44Sex. Sex me.
- 14:44Sex Me. Yes, yes.
- 14:46It's very nasty. Talk about sex me.
- 14:48Sex. Me.
- 14:49Yeah. I got tired of women saying
- 14:55certain things just to get a rise out of me.
- 14:58So what I decided to do was like, OK, you look at me, you
- 15:03see a sex figure? Apparently so.
- 15:07I'm going to give you exactly what you want to give you that
- 15:10mental paint, that fucking picture that.
- 15:13I'm not the one to be fucked with, I.
- 15:15Don't like it? Do not I?
- 15:19I like stop. Stop making me into a sexual
- 15:22being. I'm much more than that.
- 15:24Yes, dead ass serious. Like I'll be sitting in the bar
- 15:28and somebody will walk up to me and say something sexual and I'm
- 15:31just like, OK, all right, straight up.
- 15:34I'm gonna be honest with you. You got 3 warnings.
- 15:37After that third warning, whatever happens is not my
- 15:40fault. They're like, what the fuck do
- 15:42you mean by that? And it's like.
- 15:44Fuck around and find out. So okay, Florida, man.
- 15:50Yeah. That song was sending a message.
- 15:53There's a lot of songs out here that are sending messages.
- 15:55Yeah, so it's like a diss track. It's not a diss track.
- 15:58It's letting you know what happens if you get into a sexual
- 16:00situation with me. Shit, it's like a Full
- 16:03disclosure. You're like the praying mantis,
- 16:05but like in guy form. So like the praying mantis will
- 16:09kill the dude after having sex. I.
- 16:11Definitely won't. There won't be any walking, but
- 16:15I won't kill you. Let me go.
- 16:24Let me get myself out together. That's a buddy.
- 16:29You're just gonna break a couple hip bones.
- 16:31No big deal. Touch a couple kneecaps all day,
- 16:36but yeah. That's pretty much everything.
- 16:39Like, there's a bunch of stuff on there.
- 16:42Like Take Me Back was literally having a, like, I was having a
- 16:46conversation with myself and I was thinking like, fuck, take me
- 16:51back to the time where we used to be, you know, when we
- 16:54actually used to have a conversation.
- 16:56And it wasn't always about like sex, You know, That was like a
- 16:59more vulnerable thing. And then when you go to making
- 17:03love, it's kind of like okay now.
- 17:06You've heard the extremely sexual side of me.
- 17:09Now let me show you the passionate side to that sexy you
- 17:12see and then don't hide. It's pretty much telling you
- 17:15don't hide, but like, you're beautiful, Like, don't hide
- 17:19behind anything. Be yourself.
- 17:20You know what I mean? Like, there's messages behind
- 17:22anything that I write. And nice to meet you is
- 17:26basically it was nice to meet you.
- 17:28You're like, it was a pleasure, truly a pleasure.
- 17:32There's literally you've changed this.
- 17:35It's simply that. It's.
- 17:36Talking about how much you've changed, like if you didn't used
- 17:39to be like this, and then there's a lot of, it's a lot of
- 17:42shit. There's a song called Don't Call
- 17:45that I got this unreleased, you know, still working on it.
- 17:48It's pretty much. Saying don't call my phone.
- 17:51And I figured out all your bullshit.
- 17:53I figured it. I figured that literally My
- 17:55lyrics are simple shit and people don't understand that.
- 17:58It's like it's a songwriting thing.
- 17:59Like I study music. I study my favorites.
- 18:02Like, don't call my phone. Don't call my phone with the
- 18:05bullshit I figured you out. Your best friend hit my line and
- 18:09said you're running your mouth like it's pretty much simple
- 18:12shit like it's. Stuff that happens in everyday
- 18:14thing. Because I know if you have a
- 18:15situation with one of your girlfriends or you're talking to
- 18:18a dude, I'm pretty positive. If something happens, you talk
- 18:21to one of your girlfriends and there's probably been a
- 18:24situation where one of your girlfriends has went back and
- 18:26said something and you know. Oh yeah, she said.
- 18:29You did this, this and that. You know what I mean?
- 18:31It's kind of like a it's kind of like a circle.
- 18:33Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:35The whole instigation stuff. Yeah.
- 18:37Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, it's.
- 18:40Pretty much it. So yeah, it really is just you
- 18:43expressing things in the moment. It really is just that.
- 18:47OK, what? So like you were saying like you
- 18:50started with RAP 1st and then you went to R&B.
- 18:53Why? I guess I'm just gonna ask the
- 18:57questions more directly now since he's like, don't call my
- 19:00phone. Why?
- 19:03Basically, I stopped doing rap because everybody was fucking
- 19:07doing it and I didn't like where rap was going.
- 19:11And I refused to rap about shit that I don't have or shooting
- 19:14people are doing. That's just not me.
- 19:16I mean, I don't do that. I'm a lover.
- 19:17I'm a yeah, you know, So I got into singing to like, you know,
- 19:24I'm in tune with my emotions. 100%, you know, I'm not afraid
- 19:27to cry. I'm not afraid to do anything
- 19:28like that. And singing allows me to express
- 19:32myself like that and show that. Like, you know, you could still
- 19:35be a man and have emotions. There's nothing wrong with that.
- 19:38Don't catch you. Good for you.
- 19:41Sorry. Keep going.
- 19:44Therapy is important, guys. Therapy is important.
- 19:46Yeah, guys have feelings too. Yeah.
- 19:49Stop treating us like shit, please.
- 19:50Yeah, and vice versa. They're young children as well.
- 19:55Yeah, we are. We're all trying to figure out
- 19:57our inner child and love them. Yeah.
- 20:00And trying to make them feel better.
- 20:04What? Besides like the moment that you
- 20:06mentioned earlier from Virginia, what's another experience that
- 20:10has, like a significant impact on your creative journey as an
- 20:14R&B artist? How did it shape you and impact
- 20:18or influence your music too? Made me not afraid to be.
- 20:21I was just became unapologetically me.
- 20:24You know what I mean? Like I wear what the fuck I want
- 20:27to wear. I walk how I want to walk.
- 20:29I like, I'm completely sure of my sexuality.
- 20:33It made me coming to me, you know what I mean?
- 20:36There's a lot of men out there that aren't sure of their
- 20:38sexuality and by that, that doesn't mean that you're
- 20:40bisexual, you're gay or anything.
- 20:42Like that's being 100% sure of yourself.
- 20:45And I am that. So that's why I can wear fucking
- 20:48silk shirts anywhere. For instance.
- 20:52What's today? Saturday I went out.
- 20:55I had on fucking leather pants, yeah, and I had on a silk
- 20:59leopard print shirt. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:01And somebody made a comment. What the fuck are you wearing?
- 21:03I was like, why does the fucking matter?
- 21:06You know what I mean? Just because you aren't sure of
- 21:08yourself. And you can't wear that look.
- 21:10I used to be a bodybuilder. I don't work hard to to look the
- 21:14way I look. OK, So I'll be damned if I let
- 21:17somebody dictate. What I wear the next day.
- 21:21Yeah, yeah. It's only making them
- 21:22uncomfortable because they're uncomfortable with themselves.
- 21:24It's the way I look at it. So as long as I'm not walking
- 21:27around here with my Dick out of my jeans, I think I'm fine.
- 21:30So. Yeah, yeah, damn.
- 21:32That's hella real though, 'cause there are hella guys who
- 21:35definitely and and not just guys, I mean in general, right?
- 21:38Like when you're not comfortable with who you are, you tend to
- 21:42project that it's onto that other person that obviously.
- 21:48Does know who they are a lot more and it that's one of the
- 21:51reasons why I don't hang out with too many dudes.
- 22:17I'm just vibing. Because a lot of dudes can't
- 21:55handle being around me and a lot of dudes get into a pissing
- 21:59contest when it comes to being around me.
- 22:01And it's like dude, just cuz there's a pretty girl around
- 22:03does not mean that I'm interested.
- 22:07I mean you know what I mean? She's pretty cool.
- 22:10Keep it pushing 9090% of the time.
- 22:12I won't even notice them unless they walk in front of me like
- 22:14directly in front of me. I'm in my own world when I go
- 22:16out like I. I'm chilling.
- 22:19Like, you know, like I don't approach women at bars.
- 22:21I don't do it. And I don't go to bars to get
- 22:23women. I go there to chill.
- 22:24If I hit up, you hit you up as a guy, they go hang out and chill.
- 22:28I want some guy time I. Got plenty of girlfriends I can
- 22:31go hang out with and gossip, but I don't like gossip.
- 22:33That's why I'm choosing that. You know, when it starts getting
- 22:35like that, I'm like, alright, I'm hitting up my boys, let's
- 22:38play some Xbox or some shit. But it just becomes a pissing
- 22:41contest and a lot of dudes aren't sure of themselves and
- 22:43they start acting funny when a pretty girl gets around.
- 22:46So imagine Florida's full of pretty women.
- 22:48So every dude acts fucking weird when it comes to being around
- 22:52women. I'm like, bro, can you not be
- 22:53fucking normal? Can you not have a normal
- 22:55conversation with a girl without it?
- 22:57You know, I mean, come on now. Lots of predators I would do.
- 23:02I would think that since there's more like, prettier women down
- 23:06there, they would get be used to it.
- 23:07You would be like. Ah, you think that's the ten?
- 23:09That she's just A7. These dudes act like they've
- 23:12never seen a fine woman before in their life.
- 23:16Like, come on now, dude. Really.
- 23:20Fuck. That shit aggravates.
- 23:23That's that's one of my pet peeves right there.
- 23:25Yeah, yeah, it's like, OK, she's fine.
- 23:28Cool. Why don't you go talk to her?
- 23:30I don't need to. What do I need to do that for
- 23:32her? I'm not interested in that
- 23:34because, you know, sorry. But Florida's full of a lot of
- 23:37materialistic things, and that's not something I'm into.
- 23:40So yeah. What's another pet peeve?
- 23:45Another pet peeve. Yeah, we're doing pet peeves
- 23:47now. Okay.
- 23:48Inconsistent fucking people. Elaborate.
- 23:53Don't text me, Don't call my phone.
- 23:56Right, right. We don't establish that.
- 23:57Text me and. Then I text you and you don't
- 23:59reply for like 3 days. Gotcha.
- 24:01That's fucking weird to me. What was the point of getting my
- 24:03attention? I could have been fucking doing
- 24:05something, you know what I mean? And I always like to give people
- 24:07attention because you never know what somebody's going through.
- 24:10You know what I mean? I try to be there for people,
- 24:12but I feel like it's getting taken advantage of.
- 24:13And that has to stop, which is going to stop.
- 24:16But that saying you're going to do something and don't do it.
- 24:20And it can be as little as saying, hey, I'm going to call
- 24:23you like 30 minutes. I'm like, okay, cool.
- 24:25If you don't call me, I don't. I won't sweat it.
- 24:28But. You'll remember.
- 24:29I'll remember. I'll definitely.
- 24:30Be like okay, I forget, but I don't forget.
- 24:33Honestly, it's not even a forgive and forget type of
- 24:36situation. It's kind of like you don't
- 24:37value my time. You know what I mean?
- 24:40I could die tomorrow, you know that.
- 24:42That's that's some very valuable time.
- 24:44And I take a lot more serious now considering one of my
- 24:46friends pretty much committed suicide a day before we were
- 24:49supposed to hang out in Florida. So and I didn't figure out for a
- 24:52month and 1/2 after that, I just thought she goes to me.
- 24:55I was like, what the fuck is going on here?
- 24:57She OK? No reply, no nothing because I
- 24:59know she had issues. I was like, I'm just going to
- 25:01give her her space and then they see no one.
- 25:03See, she's dead on Facebook. So you know, I try to take
- 25:06people's time serious. So if I reply to you, it takes
- 25:10you're on your phone anyway. Takes you 10 seconds to send a
- 25:13fucking. I'm doing this.
- 25:15OK, cool. And I'm not saying you have to
- 25:16explain yourself, but just show some communication.
- 25:18That's a big thing for me. That's another pet peeve
- 25:21communication. Yeah.
- 25:22Yeah, just stare it out. Keep going and eye contact.
- 25:25And eye contact. I'm hella giving you eye
- 25:27contact. That's.
- 25:27Why I said that, but just staring at my soul, I don't
- 25:29know. I'm trying to see who blinks
- 25:31first, like I will win this fucking game.
- 25:35I look at people's eyes when I'm talking to them.
- 25:38I want them. I want them to know I'm paying
- 25:39attention to you. I appreciate that.
- 25:42Not to me. If you.
- 25:43If you don't want me to make eye contact, I'll look at the I'll.
- 25:45I'll look somewhere else, oh Lord.
- 25:49If it is it a pet peeve? No, it's not.
- 25:51Oh, OK, you were just saying that?
- 25:54Oh, pet peeve. No sense of humor.
- 25:56Ah yeah, I like to banter and talk shit.
- 25:59And talk shit. Yeah, we talk hella shit on
- 26:01here. I don't know if you've noticed
- 26:02yet. Yeah, yeah, kind of.
- 26:04Sort of. Kind of.
- 26:05Sort of, yeah. Yeah.
- 26:07Emily's not here. Dusty's not a shit talker in the
- 26:10mood right now. Or something.
- 26:12He's chilling. Yeah, he's chilling.
- 26:13I'm always just chilling. I know we do normally talk color
- 26:20shit. I don't like it when I don't get
- 26:22responses on my text messages either.
- 26:25Bitch, you have to leave me on Red.
- 26:29I think that's the problem. Your message is not going
- 26:31through bud, sorry. Yeah, that's definitely what's
- 26:38happening is your messages aren't going through.
- 26:41Uh huh. Yeah.
- 26:43It comes back saying red, definitely no.
- 26:46You mean like the red icon at the bottom that says it didn't
- 26:49send? No, possibly I don't.
- 26:53Know. Only Android people will have
- 26:59red to red. I think you can.
- 27:00I know androids have red receipts too.
- 27:02They do. Yeah, they do.
- 27:03When? Did that happen?
- 27:05That's that's been for a while now, like several years, 'cause
- 27:09when I had an OR, yeah, 'cause I switched back to iPhone, I don't
- 27:15know, maybe 6-7 years ago. And back then, yeah, I still had
- 27:19you could send red receipts. Yeah.
- 27:22Where have I been? Yeah, you've just always been
- 27:25Team iPhone. Apparently.
- 27:26No, I had to Android first. Oh, OK.
- 27:28I had a Galaxy Four. Yeah, that was a long fucking
- 27:31time ago. Yeah, OK.
- 27:32Yeah. Yeah, a long fucking time ago.
- 27:42Yeah, buzzy as hell. But I stopped getting that
- 27:35because I was like, damn, this picture quality is amazing.
- 27:37Soon as I leave the store, I'm like, what the fuck happened to
- 27:39my camera? They changed the camera in the.
- 27:44Why have my face so long? So I was like iPhone.
- 27:49Here we go. Yeah, been iPhone ever since.
- 27:51Gotcha. Gotcha.
- 27:52Yeah, no, they still have. They still have those red
- 27:55receipts. We just can't across like
- 27:59Android to Apple. We don't get that.
- 28:01Yeah, that's not a thing. I know.
- 28:04I know. So are there any challenges that
- 28:08you've faced in your career so far?
- 28:11Yeah, Yeah, a lot. Yeah.
- 28:13Tell us about them. There's elaborate expand.
- 28:18No, man, just getting put out there, like you know what I
- 28:22mean? The majority of places I get
- 28:24asked to like perform and stuff like that is fucking trap music.
- 28:28Like, you know, there's not the atmosphere for me to sing
- 28:31majority of my shit that I have. Right, right.
- 28:33Because. Again.
- 28:33You're That's not even what you're trying to express.
- 28:37And then I get invited to these Indy fest where they give out
- 28:41fifty $60,000. I'm not even going to go because
- 28:44it's like, why do I sit here and pay you guys $1000 just to be
- 28:48eliminated from the competition? Because they're not trying to
- 28:50hear this shit. So it's either I come up with
- 28:52some club banger, which I have, I just haven't released it yet
- 28:56that people would be subject to, or it's just like they're not.
- 28:59They don't want to. I mean, everybody says, well,
- 29:01there's always that that, you know, that type of crowd where
- 29:04they can kind of enjoy that shit.
- 29:05But it's like when I put money on the line, I don't really feel
- 29:09like dealing with that situation.
- 29:10So it's that and not really taking advantage of my
- 29:14opportunities. I've been invited to LA five
- 29:17Times Now. Have not been.
- 29:20Yeah. And if I were to tell y'all who
- 29:24invited me, you'd be like, what the fuck are you doing?
- 29:26Yeah, why not? You know what I mean?
- 29:29So the question is, why not? You know, now it's just the
- 29:33finance thing. Because I have to pay for a
- 29:35ticket to get down there. I have to pay for the hotel,
- 29:36then I got to pay for a rental car.
- 29:38It's like that shit adds up, especially in LA.
- 29:41Oh yeah. So there's going to be like at
- 29:43least three, $4000. I'm going down there.
- 29:45I'm going down there for like a week, week or two.
- 29:48Oh yeah, yeah. I'm not going to go down there
- 29:49for two or three days. No, you're going to introduce me
- 29:52to all my idols, but that's what's going to happen.
- 29:55But I mean, it's still going to happen.
- 29:56He actually gave me his phone number and his address, so just
- 29:59got to make it happen. So I feel like the main thing
- 30:02that's been the issue is myself, to be honest with you, 100%
- 30:05honest with you, myself. It's been a lot of things have
- 30:08been getting in the way of me being able to do it at the
- 30:10capacity that I want to do it if I were able to.
- 30:14Like, I'm not even looking to get a deal, to be honest with
- 30:16you. If you can just give me an
- 30:18opportunity where I can just sit in the fucking studio and not
- 30:21worry about how much time I have, how much it's going to
- 30:25fucking cost because this shit gets expensive.
- 30:27The amount of fucking music I can make is just ungodly.
- 30:31And then if you put me in a in a situation to where I can meet
- 30:34some of my idols and kind of study from them and kind of pass
- 30:36some ideas with them, it's there'll be a done deal right
- 30:41then and there. But being seen is the hardest
- 30:44thing. You know what I mean?
- 30:46And I don't. I mean when people, I have
- 30:48marketing companies want to reach out to me again.
- 30:50It's expensive $15,000. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:53That's a lot of money for no guarantee.
- 30:56Yeah. The only guarantee is I know how
- 30:59to make good music. From what I think, I can make
- 31:02something catchy. I can make something quick, I
- 31:03can do it, but it's will the masses catch on to that?
- 31:08You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
- 31:10It's kind of betting on yourself.
- 31:11And I know if I bet on myself, it'll be, you know, a good idea.
- 31:15But I mean, I just finances is a big part, a big part of it, so.
- 31:22How do you juggle between, like, you know, earlier you were
- 31:25talking about how, like, confident you are in yourself
- 31:28and how, you know who you are. How do you juggle between, like,
- 31:31also knowing that this is a really big industry and it's
- 31:34hard to be seen. So how do you about.
- 31:37Yeah, yeah, you know, would you have met.
- 31:39Yeah. Would you like care to?
- 31:41Share a little bit about. That you know how many songs
- 31:42real deep and. Vulnerable with us?
- 31:44Yeah, definitely. I love deep.
- 31:46Trust me, I get, honestly, I'm. I hear some of these people who
- 31:51make these songs. I'm like, this dude's fucking
- 31:53not even that good. Like, I'm just going to say some
- 31:56names. A lot of people are on Brent
- 31:57Fayes, in my opinion. He makes decent songs, but the
- 32:02guy doesn't really sing that that well.
- 32:05The Ty Dolla Sign. The guy does not really sing
- 32:08that well and they're considered singers, Jacquees.
- 32:12It's the same fucking note in every single song about 50 times
- 32:17and he's considered a really good singer.
- 32:20He makes catchy songs, don't get me wrong, but it's when you sit
- 32:23here and you're in a field and you see half of these fucking
- 32:27people making it that aren't really that fucking good, or you
- 32:30going TikTok and you see all these people who aren't really
- 32:35that fucking good. All they're doing is taking
- 32:37another person's song and they're remixing it.
- 32:41They do have some good voices on TikTok, do not get me wrong.
- 32:43But a lot of them cannot make their own songs.
- 32:48And then the constant everybody who's heard my shit and listened
- 32:52to my shit or seen me, Why aren't you famous shit?
- 32:56I don't fucking know. That's not my that's not my
- 32:59decision to fucking make. Right, right.
- 33:01And that, like, eventually gets to you, too.
- 33:02It's like you're like what? I know you're trying to be
- 33:05supportive, but that wasn't very supportive.
- 33:07No, it's really not. And especially like.
- 33:09You know. Especially when people ask me
- 33:12like like the other podcast the other day that I did.
- 33:15Yeah, they were like, Oh well, what do you think about like
- 33:18Wichita and and Artisan? Wichita and I just flat out said
- 33:21they're fucking trash, There's a lot of art.
- 33:24I'm not going to say that. Let me rephrase that.
- 33:26They still need to work on their craft and I still need to work
- 33:28on my craft as well, but I feel like I'm a lot further ahead of
- 33:31them. But did not get the respect or
- 33:34do not get the support because they got some little coalition
- 33:37going on and I know these dudes personally, you know what I
- 33:40mean? So it's like they keep it inside
- 33:42their group and they're honestly really not even that good.
- 33:47It really bothers the shit out of me that I get more love from
- 33:50a place that I'm not from than my hometown.
- 33:55You know what I mean? So and then it goes back to the
- 33:57fact of when everybody says, Oh well, they just dished their
- 34:00hometown, They they changed. No, they didn't change.
- 34:02They just saw who was supporting them and they rather invest
- 34:04their time and money into them. And I straight up told them I
- 34:07will probably never do a show in Wichita to be 100% honest with
- 34:10you. And the reason I say that is
- 34:12because like I don't see the support when I start seeing some
- 34:14support. It seems like Wichita, they only
- 34:17support you when you you you have a name, you go anywhere
- 34:20else. You go to Atlanta, their artists
- 34:22don't don't have big names. They're going around bumping
- 34:24them. You go to Louisiana before Wayne
- 34:27and them got famous. They're bumping little Wayne.
- 34:28You go to Tampa, they're bumping Tampa artists.
- 34:31You go to Wichita, they're playing everybody else but
- 34:34people from Wichita. That's true, though, That's.
- 34:36True. You go to Cali, they pay Bay
- 34:38Area. They they love their own
- 34:40artists. Wichita does not love their
- 34:42artists. Why do you think nobody comes
- 34:43here? They don't know how to act when
- 34:45people come here and they don't fucking show real support.
- 34:49Yeah. It's simple.
- 34:51What would you say as us as people?
- 34:55Like people who support music, how can we help uplift our
- 35:00musical community here and try to change that?
- 35:04Like, what are things that you would like to see?
- 35:07Honestly, just more support and more outlets.
- 35:09Like if you were to get like those big artists down here, at
- 35:12least have somebody who can get in contact with them and have a
- 35:14local artist open up for them. It's as simple as that, yeah.
- 35:17Because that local artist, Yeah, yeah, you say you have ti come
- 35:20down here and you have. Be honest, One of my buddies who
- 35:25raps, he opens up for it's like, Oh yeah, open up for him.
- 35:28You got 15 minutes. You know what that 15 minutes
- 35:29can do for him? Oh yeah, yeah.
- 35:31That 15 minutes can literally change everything.
- 35:35It doesn't have to be 15 minutes.
- 35:36It can be one goddamn song, as long as the song is fucking
- 35:39nice. Yeah.
- 35:40That can change a lot of things, and next thing you know, he's
- 35:43getting invited to go open up somewhere else.
- 35:45What does he do? Call another local artist.
- 35:50Hey, you want to open up? If I ever got the chance to open
- 35:53up for somebody you know how many fucking people in the music
- 35:55and it's like in Wichita that I would call there are from
- 35:58Wichita. Then I'm like, hey, I got
- 36:01something don't make any fucking trash music you got it has to be
- 36:05fucking good. But you got to you know and I'm
- 36:08that guy. I would literally.
- 36:09I've called people and told them hey, you're going to change
- 36:11that. That's I'm not putting this shit
- 36:12out unless you change that. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:14Because that's not going to be attached to my name ever.
- 36:17No. No.
- 36:18Especially at this point now. No, but yeah, that's honestly, I
- 36:23feel like that's what it what it's what it's going to take an
- 36:25actual support. Like you guys will sit there,
- 36:28not you guys, but like people in general.
- 36:30Anybody will sit there and share a Drake post saying, oh, I'll
- 36:35give a fan of free fucking ticket when you can go buy that
- 36:37ticket for $60.00. But yet you got 15 million
- 36:41people sharing that, but they have a friend that has a
- 36:43business or something like that, that they won't even share or
- 36:47buy anything from and. I'm going to touch on something,
- 36:53Support black businesses. I hate hearing that shit because
- 36:57a lot of people don't support the black businesses that
- 36:59they're talking about. Because I've seen so many people
- 37:01online buying Gucci, Louie, Fendi, Pride and all that shit.
- 37:04But you got a locally owned boutique that nobody even goes
- 37:08to or spends money on. It's simple.
- 37:10That's on every aspect. I feel like you got to support
- 37:14your people or who you're around your community.
- 37:16Doesn't matter if you're white, black, Asian, Puerto Rican,
- 37:19anything. Support is the main thing that
- 37:21can takes support literally. Can break make a break an artist
- 37:25in all aspects? Yeah.
- 37:28So I mean, you pour your your heart and soul into it and to
- 37:32kind of see nothing come from it, it gets very frustrating at
- 37:36times. You know what I mean?
- 37:37To be 100,000 streams and realize you only made $84 off of
- 37:41it, It's fucking crazy. Yeah, like that's nothing.
- 37:46That's ridiculous. Yeah.
- 37:48And then it's like, OK, people are obviously listening, but
- 37:54then trying to get them to buy something, to kind of pull more
- 37:57money into you. Like I've thought about multiple
- 37:59times taking all my music off and put it on my own website to
- 38:02where they had to pay a dollar just to fucking stream it.
- 38:04But then you think about that aspect, Nobody's going to want
- 38:08to fucking do it. There's this.
- 38:10They're too lazy to do it. You know what?
- 38:12I mean like I see more artists. Like sometimes I I get envious
- 38:16to some artists like my buddy Sam P in Florida.
- 38:20He raps. He's decent, he's good.
- 38:23The amount of fucking support that dude gets is ungodly.
- 38:27He'll post something to have a fucking three day long story of
- 38:31just nothing but people reposting it.
- 38:33You know what I mean? I'm like that's fucking support
- 38:35you. Know what I mean?
- 38:37But then again, he's been in Florida for like 8-9 years.
- 38:40You know those people know him. He has a very good gym.
- 38:43He's cool ass dude, you know what I mean?
- 38:46So it's just like support can make can make a break anything
- 38:50and everything. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:53Hitting that share button makes a huge difference.
- 38:55Does. It's free.
- 38:56Yeah, it's fucking free, yeah. You know.
- 38:59Like you get more algorithm points too seconds to.
- 39:02Do it. You do in another.
- 39:03Let me. I'm gonna fucking touch on this
- 39:05too. Do you want a shot?
- 39:07Yeah, we definitely need one cuz.
- 39:09Pass me that but. Look here, there's a thing
- 39:14called real support, and there's a thing called fake support when
- 39:16you see traction happening. OK, as an artist, I pay
- 39:21attention to everything. All my analytics, numbers, all
- 39:24that, OK? I can see exactly where my music
- 39:26is being played. And then when I have random
- 39:29people in my inbox, oh, I knew you'd be something someday.
- 39:33I knew it was like, dude, you never talked to me in high
- 39:34school. You used to talk shit on me in
- 39:35high school. What do you mean?
- 39:37You know what I mean? Like, if you're going to, if
- 39:39you're going to support, it's cool, it's fine.
- 39:41But I'd rather have real support than people who are just
- 39:44opportunist. You know what?
- 39:45Yeah. It's almost like almost like
- 39:47they're just trying to like. Kind of catch the coattail a
- 39:50little bit with you or. Get something out.
- 39:53To look cool because you're now look, you're now hella cool.
- 39:55Yeah, and I've noticed that too. Like, I'm not even.
- 39:59Honestly, I don't even think I'm even on the cusp of even being
- 40:03an artist yet. You know what I mean?
- 40:04I'm still figuring things out. And the amount of people that
- 40:07I've noticed just trying to. Associate themselves with me
- 40:10just because, you know, I don't know, like it's fucking weird.
- 40:15Like, it's so weird. And like, I'll like, I don't
- 40:18know, man. It's just like some people.
- 40:19I feel like some people are just envious and it's it's not a
- 40:24problem to like, hey, yo dude, I appreciate what you're doing,
- 40:28but when it comes to doing anything you can to kind of like
- 40:32tarnish them moving forward, if that makes any kind of sense.
- 40:36Like give an excuse like, oh, he's good but.
- 40:40You know what I mean. Gotcha.
- 40:42Gotcha. Kind of thrown that little shade
- 40:43in. There, yeah.
- 40:45Yeah. Yeah, come on, man.
- 40:46I didn't do nothing to you, bro. All I did was put out a song.
- 40:50Yeah, yeah. Fuck.
- 40:53Maybe that's the name of the next song, but but you know
- 40:56what? You got my mind sparking right
- 41:01now. You're welcome.
- 41:02Make a voice note. Go ahead.
- 41:04Cheers to that. I made a mental note.
- 41:07Cheers, oh Lord. Yeah, touching on that.
- 41:11No, I did get a friend request like a day or two ago from
- 41:14somebody else. Like, I don't know who this
- 41:17person is. They probably saw me playing at
- 41:18a some show or whatever and I'd go to look at mutual friends or
- 41:22whatever. And like, I've never seen you
- 41:24around any of those people. Are you just adding people in
- 41:27like the scene or whatever to try to look cool?
- 41:29Make yourself look like, you know, people?
- 41:32Yeah, yeah dude, it gets, it gets very difficult in all
- 41:34aspects. If you think about it, man, it's
- 41:36hard to make like friends. It's hard to meet like like a
- 41:39significant other. When it start comes this cuz
- 41:41like everybody I have a saying. Everybody wants to date Columbus
- 41:45Berry until they date Columbus Berry.
- 41:47And they. Understand it.
- 41:49And it's not in a bad thing. It's the way I look.
- 41:52I get a lot of attention. I don't play into this shit
- 41:57though. I've never cheated in a
- 41:58relationship I've been in. So you know when I'm in a
- 42:00relationship and I'm in a relationship, but it's like they
- 42:03can't deal with it. I mean the last relationship I
- 42:05was in. We got an argument first thing
- 42:07she mentions my music. I'm like.
- 42:10Oh, Dang. I don't know.
- 42:12That's tough. It's like what?
- 42:13That was a personal job right there.
- 42:14I don't know how it was like that.
- 42:16Why don't you just continue singing songs about fucking
- 42:19women? How you want to fuck them?
- 42:20I'm like, wait. What?
- 42:22I don't know. I'd be so, so like I paint and I
- 42:26will like draw naked people. Like if I were ever to get a
- 42:29comment about that, I would be like what?
- 42:31Yo. I that literally took.
- 42:33Me by like cuz it's like one of the songs.
- 42:36Was about you. It's wrote the song literally
- 42:38after we dance. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:41What the fuck are you talking about?
- 42:43Like, no, I said that's that was the straw, right?
- 42:45That was one of the straws. You know, there's many.
- 42:47Yeah, but I was like, man, like, if you, if you're acting this
- 42:50way, now imagine if my shit starts catching traction.
- 42:54I gotta do these shows. I am an R&B singer who sings
- 42:57about fucking sex. A lot of it, baby.
- 42:59Making music. Baby making music.
- 43:01And I also dance. To baby making.
- 43:03Music to baby making music. So I have to like do, what do
- 43:07you want me to do in a Yeah, like what do you want me to do
- 43:10in a situation like that? Like you know what I mean?
- 43:12Like I'm not just and I'm a nice guy.
- 43:14So if I do a show like that or say I do, we're still together.
- 43:18I have a show with 1520 thousand people.
- 43:20You can't even handle it when. Fucking 30 people know me.
- 43:23Yeah. If I go to a show like that and
- 43:25I'm signing autographs, I have all these women literally
- 43:27throwing themselves at me. Wanting to sign a boob.
- 43:30Wanting me to do this and I could just do it out of like,
- 43:33OK, get the fuck out of my face, but.
- 43:35Yeah, yeah, yeah. And.
- 43:35Your mind, it's like, Oh my God, he's probably, she's probably in
- 43:38his inbox and this, this and that, right?
- 43:40I'm like, bro, like that. Doesn't what you have more
- 43:44access to fucking people than I do.
- 43:46Doesn't matter if I'm fucking famous.
- 43:48All you got to do is I don't fucking know, and then you're on
- 43:51a boat. He's.
- 43:55Flying. Hey, ask her what she did cuz I
- 43:57want to get on a boat. You literally in Florida, you
- 43:59don't have to do shit. Oh damn, I need to move to
- 44:02Florida When? I tell you this, if I go on a
- 44:04dating app and I see a woman on a boat, I swipe left.
- 44:07So do I. I'm like, no, no.
- 44:10I've never heard that that. So do I.
- 44:13That's somebody's boat. Yeah.
- 44:16Whose boat is it? Somebody's boat.
- 44:18And she's always on vacation. Who the fuck is paying for those
- 44:21vacations, Mama? Who?
- 44:23I meant I'm not going. To say that, that's why.
- 44:26That's exactly why I wanted to say why, he said.
- 44:28Girls on boats I was like when I'm one day and then I see them
- 44:30on that boat it's left swipe for.
- 44:32Me because. I do not have a boat that you
- 44:33can go on. So you're going on somebody's
- 44:36boat and they ain't your girlfriend?
- 44:37Fuck it. I'm just going to say it.
- 44:39There's been a situation. Where I messed?
- 44:41With a with a girl that had a high amount of followers in the
- 44:44six figures and had no furniture in her apartment for like 3 or 4
- 44:49weeks. What?
- 44:51Yeah, for granted. It got lost when they got
- 44:53shipped, but she still had no apartment.
- 44:56Her parents are helping her. She's young girl, you know, her
- 44:58parents apparently came from a lot of money.
- 45:00A lot of these people don't see that.
- 45:02And I was literally there at some of the photos that she
- 45:04posted. I was literally 2 foot away when
- 45:07she took those photos and I'm sitting here looking at all the
- 45:10dudes fucking drool over these photos for granted.
- 45:13Me and her weren't actually a fucking thing.
- 45:15It's just like a thing that happened after 45 minutes to
- 45:17knowing her. But that's besides the point.
- 45:22And I was sitting here that that made me get a new perspective on
- 45:26on like Florida women. And I I'm not trying to
- 45:28categorize all of them, but it just seems like a good majority
- 45:32of them and a good majority of women now understand that the
- 45:37ball is in their court. I mean, the ball has always been
- 45:40in their court, but now they're actually starting to realize it
- 45:42a lot more. And I feel like women are
- 45:44actually being, I'm not gonna lie, being smart and leveraging
- 45:48that shit. If you're gonna do something,
- 45:49get some out of yeah, God forbid.
- 45:51It just won't be for me. Yeah, well, I mean, like, I
- 45:53think with that, right? Like, women are now also
- 45:56embracing their own sexuality because for so long, it's
- 45:59beautiful. You you couldn't or.
- 46:02Also it was. Like, you know when you look
- 46:05back in your generation and your family, like they don't ever
- 46:09talk about enjoying sex? Like if you have ever tried to
- 46:11have a conversation with your your mom about like they.
- 46:14Never had that conversation with.
- 46:15You well, the same thing. But like they like those types
- 46:18of things just were not a thing. And now it's finally in this.
- 46:24I mean and we're talking about we still had artists from a long
- 46:26time ago like even Trina. Like she's always rapped about.
- 46:29Her sexuality, which is awesome, but like, people are now
- 46:31sorting. Yeah.
- 46:33And she had A and that's what I'm trying to say.
- 46:35Like now we're trying to take back that sexuality that we
- 46:39have, but we were just never fully able to embrace.
- 46:42And yeah, some people have have capitalized all that.
- 46:46Dude. Like it's, it's.
- 46:47Fucking ridiculous. I had a friend all my I have a
- 46:50lot of girlfriends that are just like really close friends who
- 46:53had an only fans and she literally showed me the photos
- 46:56that she posted. It's the same photo.
- 46:58Yeah, in a different color thong and 500 people bought it.
- 47:03Yeah, again, I said what the fuck am I doing wrong?
- 47:08Tell me what? Ohh I'm a man.
- 47:10You're gonna bring the satin shirts into your only fans.
- 47:13That's how you're paying for. That's how you're paying for the
- 47:15LA trip on that No, we're gonna go into break.
- 47:18Oh no. God no.
- 47:19Fuck that shit. Hell no.
- 47:22This. Is a real 3/2. 1.
- 47:32I'm not getting my love. I need to catch my shot.
- 47:52And we're back, baby. This is Here's to you, The
- 47:55Podcast Late Night Edition, coming back to you with segment
- 48:002 with our special guests, Columbus Berry.
- 48:04We've got the drinks made. Fanny was on the menu today.
- 48:08I feel like I have to match that energy now.
- 48:12OK, we are having a Tequila Berry tonight.
- 48:18You guys can't see but my eyebrows is great.
- 48:23Columbus over here says he loves a good tequila when making baby
- 48:28making music. Yo.
- 48:29Yeah, actually, who do? What was that sample of?
- 48:31I kind of thought it was about something when I was listening
- 48:33to that just now. I don't know.
- 48:36I'll send it to you though. Whoever it is, let them know I
- 48:38want some parts on that. Literally just thought I was
- 48:41thinking of something. And as soon as that came with
- 48:44wow, that sounds good. So anyways, yeah, we made a
- 48:48tequila Berry. We muddled A handful of
- 48:50raspberries, put an ounce of lemon juice.
- 48:53Oh, I forgot the simple syrup shit.
- 48:55I knew I was forgetting something. 2 ounces of tequila
- 48:58and then some that more ounces of tequila.
- 49:03Yeah, we did actually put more in his and then just top it off
- 49:06with some Lacroy coconut soda and that's how you get the
- 49:11tequila Berry. I like it.
- 49:14It's just as good as one of Emily's top two drinks.
- 49:18Yeah. I'm up there.
- 49:20You're up there. Damn, I'm good Get.
- 49:22My approval. What do you think, Columbus?
- 49:24This was for you. So what do you think?
- 49:26Black and the Berry? The sweeter juice.
- 49:31We should have mixed more berries.
- 49:32Actually, that would have been hella cute.
- 49:34I plead the 5th. But right before that, we were
- 49:41getting into some juicy conversations and we were going
- 49:45to come back with some dating topics.
- 49:49Yeah, we were talking about bitches on boats.
- 49:54Bitches ain't shit but boots and tricks, man.
- 49:58Got boats? And hoes?
- 50:00How's that song go again? Boats, Boats and hoes.
- 50:03How's that song go? No idea.
- 50:05Yeah, it's from Step Brothers. With their pink painted toes, I
- 50:10don't know. That was good.
- 50:12I've seen that. Movie in a long time.
- 50:14Damn Emily, Emily would have sang along with me.
- 50:19Call a rash. You probably out in the club
- 50:20twerker right now. I know that fucking hate that
- 50:24bitch. Alright.
- 50:25Anyways, so. I hear a new nickname for me is
- 50:27Sex in the City. Emily, I need more.
- 50:31I gotta know why this name just got given to somebody.
- 50:38Cuz Sex in the City was not Sex in the City.
- 50:41It wasn't. It wasn't.
- 50:43And I choose not to picture Emily like that, even though I
- 50:45know that's what she's like. Probably.
- 50:49I feel like that's why they should have done that.
- 50:50Be be be. Be she talk.
- 50:52Emily, whoever you are, I had nothing to do with that.
- 50:56Well, one of our last episodes, they were talking about Sex in
- 50:59the City and how they're big fans of it and.
- 51:01Oh yes, what? Sharon Brown.
- 51:03Yeah, it just stuck in my head. Emily is a bougie hell, that's
- 51:10probably why. That too.
- 51:13She's Halle Bougie. She's expensive, so I can never
- 51:17date her. Oh, wow.
- 51:20We we went to eat at this restaurant yesterday for lunch
- 51:23before we all headed back. Mmhmm.
- 51:27She was one of the last ones to get there.
- 51:30And I'll know she's like, send me the menu.
- 51:31We send it, somebody sends it to her, like the Yelp menu with all
- 51:34the reviews. And she's like, pick this place.
- 51:39I'm like, look, baby girl, I got Lunchable and a Capri sign.
- 51:42What? You wanna do the pizza?
- 51:45Lunchable with the two Oreos? Yeah.
- 51:47Now is is a place that me and my friend Mark had been plenty of
- 51:51times over the years and we liked it.
- 51:52And then once she got to the restaurant, saw the menu was
- 51:55like, oh, they got this, they got this.
- 51:56Oh, I wanna get that and that and that.
- 51:59This bitch that sounds like her. I was like, yeah, that sounds
- 52:03exactly like, oh Lord, yeah. Emily's expensive.
- 52:08Have you run into any expensive ladies?
- 52:13Just my ex-girlfriend. But honestly, I don't do a date
- 52:17like that anymore. To be honest.
- 52:20I had the emotional capacity for it and I'm not in a situation
- 52:25too right now. I got a lot of shit going on,
- 52:27you know, just freshly moving Dad searching for a better job,
- 52:33all that shit. So that kind of plays into it.
- 52:34I don't like getting into relationships and not being able
- 52:36to do the relationship with that.
- 52:38Makes sense, you know what I mean?
- 52:39Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. You can sit at home all day, but
- 52:43who wants to fucking do that? You know?
- 52:45I'm a very adventurous person, random, spontaneous.
- 52:47I like doing random shit. And if I can't do that, I don't
- 52:50need to be fucking dating. It's just simple as that.
- 52:53And it sucks sometimes because I'm like, fuck, kind of want to.
- 52:56But then again, I don't want to put somebody else in that kind
- 52:58of situation, you know what I mean?
- 52:59But then again, they're grown, and they decided they want to
- 53:01get in that situation. But then again, you know, I've
- 53:04been in a situation like that before with my exgirlfriend.
- 53:07And then everything got thrown in my face, You know what I
- 53:09mean? I was just in the job
- 53:11transition. Became a 911 dispatcher.
- 53:14She didn't like the hours, didn't work for her.
- 53:16She wants to do this. She wants me to get a different
- 53:19job, you know what I mean? And then it started affecting
- 53:21the way I was working. Ended up losing that job.
- 53:25Then it became a well, I got to support both of us.
- 53:27And no, the fuck you don't. I got money.
- 53:28What are you talking about? No, I didn't ask you to do this.
- 53:32Well, this is my future. I'm like, God damn, it's only
- 53:35been fucking five months, lady. What are you talking about?
- 53:39Come on, man, I love you. But be realistic, you know?
- 53:43But then again, she was used to dating dudes who got money, a
- 53:48lot of it, and abundance, like pro players and stuff like that.
- 53:51I'm not a pro player. They look like 1 not.
- 53:53You know what I mean? So dating with me is kind of
- 53:57impartial, if that makes any sense.
- 54:00OK. One question that did just come
- 54:02to mind for me is, and it'll be for both of you guys, is you
- 54:08said that it had only been like 5 months.
- 54:10And I was like, man, that's probably like maybe right around
- 54:12the end when like the honeymoon phase ends.
- 54:14Like how long does the, like the kind of honeymoon phase go for
- 54:18you guys? Ladies first?
- 54:20HM. That's hard for me.
- 54:26To answer because I have been single for so long and you know
- 54:31that. Yeah.
- 54:32And that's what I'm trying to say like and you know that my
- 54:36last relationship. I don't know.
- 54:38I would say it depends on if we get in an argument, right.
- 54:42So maybe three months. And I'm not saying that I
- 54:45sparked that argument either. Who's just not the best
- 54:50communicator? And would?
- 54:53Like if something was brought up, would be like triggered and
- 54:57would be dismissive and would be like, I don't want to argue and
- 55:01it would be like, I'm just having a conversation, what are
- 55:03you talking about? So like, I I do think that some
- 55:06people are just not quite ready to work on communication skills,
- 55:12you know, they just kind of go through that motion.
- 55:14But I guess, like in a perfect world, hopefully the honeymoon
- 55:18phase never ends. Right.
- 55:20Like wouldn't that wouldn't that be ideal or at least like in
- 55:23terms of like you still know, like I would like the maybe I'm
- 55:26too like romanticizing it but like where you could still oh OK
- 55:31well like where you can still have a bad day and that's still
- 55:36your person at the end of the day.
- 55:38And and for me, like being able to like the honeymoon phase
- 55:41isn't just like sexual intimate things in terms of that aspect,
- 55:45but intimate see in terms of like.
- 55:48We're not having a conversation, but we're still next to each
- 55:51other. You're working on something?
- 55:53Yeah, like people don't understand that intimacy is not
- 55:56sex. And yeah, see it's it's a close
- 55:58quarters. Yeah, it's conversation.
- 56:00It's just. Being or not even conversation.
- 56:02Like presents. Yeah, like for me, for me.
- 56:05Like when I was dating before him or trying to like I was
- 56:10working on so many different things that for me like.
- 56:13As long as, like if Homeboy was also working on something, for
- 56:16me it's enough to just be in the same vicinity and also be
- 56:20working on my own stuff because I can easily take a laptop and
- 56:22work on something, you know? And so if he was working on
- 56:26whatever and I just worked there too, like for me that that was
- 56:29enough for me. Like that meant a lot.
- 56:32Like, but that's also because like, mine's like quality time.
- 56:36I love languages, quality time. So that's probably an act of
- 56:40service. So yeah, so hopefully.
- 56:43I don't know. In a perfect world, the
- 56:45honeymoon phase never, never really goes away.
- 56:49Yeah, I'm a little bit indifferent, but you know.
- 56:53Yeah. What's your answer?
- 56:54I don't know. I don't have another experience
- 56:56dating cuz I don't think your answer is not wrong, your answer
- 56:58is is catered to you. But I'm gonna be honest, a lot
- 57:03of men know exactly how long they're gonna be with a woman
- 57:05before they are with a woman. I can see a woman and be like
- 57:10shit. We're gonna be together for a
- 57:11minute or shit. This is not, you know, it's how
- 57:17we act on it. And there might be a lot of men
- 57:20who this may not relate to, but in my opinion, every single
- 57:24woman that I've been with or dated or talked to, I knew
- 57:26exactly what that relationship was going to be before I even
- 57:30went into it when I first met them.
- 57:31Is that do you think like 'cause you've made your own
- 57:33expectations? No, it wasn't an expectation.
- 57:36I've heard guys say that a lot that guys know.
- 57:39Right away or I've heard that. No, it was that comment.
- 57:42No, it's not an no, it's not. It's not.
- 57:47Maybe for some other men, but I'm a fuck.
- 57:49I hate even saying this, but I'm a different fucking breeder guy.
- 57:53I'm very realistic. I'm very, you know, I hear you
- 57:57say you wish everything could be the honeymoon thing, but I'm
- 57:59very realistic. I know there's going to be
- 58:00arguments and I love that you said I love that you said that
- 58:04as long as it comes back to you know, you two are together.
- 58:08Like when I and I let my exgirlfriend know, regardless of
- 58:11how disrespectful she was to me, probably shouldn't have snuck
- 58:14around as long as I did that. At the end of the day, I need
- 58:18you to know that I always love you.
- 58:19You know what I mean? Like, no matter how mad we get,
- 58:24we need to come back to love. Like know that we love each
- 58:27other, You know, we getting heated arguments and she'd
- 58:31scream and I haven't raised my voice in 15 years.
- 58:36And I would raise my voice and then I'll be like you fucking
- 58:40done. And then she like.
- 58:43I can't believe this. I'm like, are you done?
- 58:48I said I I don't yell. I don't like yelling.
- 58:51I just don't. First off, it's disrespectful.
- 58:54Second off, I love you. I don't want to.
- 58:55You know what I mean? And that's that's another thing.
- 59:00Why I don't date is because, well, I'm kind of veering from
- 59:06it because one I'm not. I'm, you know, I'm almost 30,
- 59:10Quite frankly, I don't have my shit together.
- 59:12You know what I mean? A lot of women don't want a guy
- 59:14who don't have their shit together, but in reality, a lot
- 59:16of guys don't have their shit together until their early 30s
- 59:18or mid 30s. And there are a select fewer
- 59:22guys who do have their shit together and kudos to them.
- 59:24But it's a learning curve for men, you know, as it is a
- 59:27learning curve for women. And I feel like it's not being
- 59:31accepted as much as a man, you know, in the dating atmosphere,
- 59:36like a woman can have no job, be living with her parents and you
- 59:43know, it's okay the guys willing to support them.
- 59:47But the moment a man doesn't have something he's he's, he's
- 59:51worthless. And that's one thing that it
- 59:53really I felt like in my last relationship because it got
- 59:57thrown on me so much, you know, I got.
- 59:59That's why I don't. Like to let people get close.
- 1:00:05It's because that shit damaged me.
- 1:00:09I'm not going to lie, it did. It did.
- 1:00:11So whenever it comes to like dating and things of that
- 1:00:14nature, it's either I'm upfront or I avoid it.
- 1:00:19And I'm learning to be just be, like, upfront and be like, yo, I
- 1:00:23got a lot of shit going on. And as much as I would love to
- 1:00:26do that, I'm not going to put you in a situation where it robs
- 1:00:29you of anything or I'm in the way of somebody else who can
- 1:00:33give you the things that I can't give you at this present moment.
- 1:00:36And I'm not going to sit here and ask you to wait around
- 1:00:38because that's bullshit. You don't need to waste your
- 1:00:40time. Time is valuable.
- 1:00:42If I can't step up to the plate right now, which I can't,
- 1:00:46there's no point in even continuing this conversation.
- 1:00:50Because at this point, not only am I wasting my time, I'm
- 1:00:55wasting somebody else's time. We didn't ask for that.
- 1:00:58You know, I'm. I'm considered of everybody
- 1:01:00else's time around me. You know what I mean?
- 1:01:01I'm not a disrespectful dude. I don't like wasting people time
- 1:01:05and I take take relationships serious.
- 1:01:10My parents have been together for 30 plus years and married
- 1:01:13still to this day. All I've known is relationships,
- 1:01:17you know, and I go into each relationship different, you
- 1:01:21know, and I've been cheated on every single relationship.
- 1:01:25So and you know, I've owned up to everything I've done wrong in
- 1:01:29the relationship. The last relationship I wasn't
- 1:01:33cheated on, but I was disrespected based off my
- 1:01:39actions of what I did, which I didn't consider anything
- 1:01:45terrible shouldn't have done. It was disrespectful, but in the
- 1:01:49last relationship before that, that was that was tolerable.
- 1:01:53You know what I mean. She didn't care, but then again,
- 1:01:55she was from a different culture.
- 1:01:56She was Australian from Australia, so everything over
- 1:01:59there was a lot more relaxed. So that was my dealing.
- 1:02:01I messed that part up. But she failed to take
- 1:02:05accountability for everything else after that.
- 1:02:07You don't get to treat me like shit.
- 1:02:08You don't get to act a certain way.
- 1:02:10You don't get to do this just because I did that.
- 1:02:11Either you get over it or you don't.
- 1:02:13I didn't cheat on you. Whether you want to say that's
- 1:02:16cheating, okay, You're just doing that to kind of skew the
- 1:02:21line in my opinion. But hey, everybody's entitled to
- 1:02:24their own feelings. I respect that, you know, so I
- 1:02:26ate that bullet. So when it comes to dating it,
- 1:02:33it takes a lot out of me. That's one of the reasons why
- 1:02:35I'm I'm a very fucking passionate person and I'm very
- 1:02:39selfless and I can't. I don't love, I am love.
- 1:02:42I can't help but to do that. So it gets in a very dangerous
- 1:02:46spot for me, mentally and emotionally, whenever there's a
- 1:02:49relationship or when it comes to bearing a relationship or
- 1:02:52getting to know somebody. Because yeah, I get very fucking
- 1:02:56attached. Yeah, I can't help but love
- 1:03:00somebody, you know? I don't care if I've known you
- 1:03:03for a day. I don't care if I've known you.
- 1:03:04For an hour. Fuck, I love you.
- 1:03:06You need to hear that shit. You know what I mean.
- 1:03:08It may not be in love with you, but I have a certain type of
- 1:03:11love for you to have a conversation with you.
- 1:03:14Because I have. You love our podcast?
- 1:03:16Yes, absolutely. Yeah, I was about to make a
- 1:03:18comment about being here more often, but you know.
- 1:03:20Oh, keep going. Keep going.
- 1:03:22OK, my bad. My bad I.
- 1:03:24Cut you off, but yeah, man, it's it's it's very deep for me, you
- 1:03:29know what I mean? It's like I'm very big on energy
- 1:03:32now that I am. I'm.
- 1:03:33I'm very big on fucking energy. I'm very big on that, you know?
- 1:03:39Yeah, I can walk in any club. Yeah.
- 1:03:40I can go home with any woman if I put my mind to it and just
- 1:03:43want to, But I choose not to do that.
- 1:03:48I may talk shit sometimes just to talk shit, but I'll let it be
- 1:03:50known, you know? I've had situations where
- 1:03:54actually when I fucking just first got back here, I went to
- 1:03:56pump house with a buddy to get a drink in the waitress.
- 1:03:59Soon as I walk in there just literally starts throwing it at
- 1:04:02me and I made everybody sign the NDA.
- 1:04:05Just. As a joke, I turned it into a.
- 1:04:07Fucking joke. I turned it into a joke I
- 1:04:09basically said I put under line. I'm talking very sexual to
- 1:04:16Columbus. Anything that happens after this
- 1:04:18point is not on Columbus. Witnesses and I made everybody.
- 1:04:21No, my God. As a joke.
- 1:04:23You put that on a napkin. I put it on a fucking piece of
- 1:04:25paper. I made her go get some paper and
- 1:04:28I made her go make copies. And as soon as she walks away to
- 1:04:32go help a table one of the other bartenders, like, that's just
- 1:04:34how she is. So are you.
- 1:04:35And I was like, no, I'm not going to do it.
- 1:04:37She's like, wait, what? I said, no, I said not having
- 1:04:39sex with that fucking woman and she has my number.
- 1:04:42I mean, she can hit me up, but. Chances are probably not gonna
- 1:04:45reply and nothing's gonna fucking happen.
- 1:04:48She's gonna have the red receipt.
- 1:04:49Yeah, definitely. I mean, I texted her.
- 1:04:51I texted her like maybe twice. And then I was just like not
- 1:04:54having it because I hear a lot of things, You know what I mean?
- 1:04:59You know, I hear multiple women say they'd Take Me Out on a
- 1:05:01date. I don't need you to fucking Take
- 1:05:03Me Out on a date. I mean, it would be nice to feel
- 1:05:06appreciated because I haven't felt appreciated in a very long
- 1:05:08fucking time when it comes to women.
- 1:05:10But like, I don't need to do that shit.
- 1:05:12I don't know. Like, I don't need to do any of
- 1:05:13that stuff. We can go on a fucking walk and
- 1:05:14I'll be content. It doesn't take much to satisfy
- 1:05:17me. It's just, like you said,
- 1:05:19somebody's presence and being there is.
- 1:05:21It's a lot more and it Trump's anything.
- 1:05:23And I'm a loyal fucking dude, quote, UN quote, from one of my
- 1:05:27exes. I knew you weren't going
- 1:05:28anywhere because you were loyal. Probably one of my biggest
- 1:05:32downfalls in that relationship. Should have caught in a lot of
- 1:05:35my relationships. I couldn't.
- 1:05:36I should have called it quits. Tell me, in what situation do
- 1:05:39you have a boyfriend who is around half naked women all day
- 1:05:43and does not even look in that direction?
- 1:05:45Tell me most men would cave, especially when the women look
- 1:05:49very good and are throwing themselves at you.
- 1:05:52Didn't look in any direction. Didn't do it.
- 1:05:53I'm in a relationship. Don't fucking touch me.
- 1:05:56Back the fuck up. I'm an asshole when I'm in a
- 1:05:57relationship because not only do I need to protect her, I need to
- 1:06:05protect my image of her. People know I'm in a
- 1:06:08relationship and they see me with her whether if I post it or
- 1:06:11not and then somebody sees me out.
- 1:06:14I don't want to take that risk of knowing that I disrespected
- 1:06:17you in front of everybody. That's just not my Forte.
- 1:06:20No, my my Forte is protecting my woman at all times when it comes
- 1:06:23to like a relationship and when it comes to how she's seen with
- 1:06:26me, don't care. You can take my phone post on
- 1:06:29anything, do whatever you want. You got passwords and anything.
- 1:06:32Do what the fuck you want. I don't care.
- 1:06:34I don't have anything to hide. So relationships are very
- 1:06:38serious to me, and it's getting to point now where being 29
- 1:06:42years old and going through this weird transition, I'm going in
- 1:06:45now. I want to badly, but I am
- 1:06:50incapable at the time. But I'm not going to sit here
- 1:06:55and ask somebody to sit here and oh, let's see if it is, no.
- 1:06:59No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Because you might walk into
- 1:07:03fucking Whole Foods and somebody might ask for your number.
- 1:07:06You need to take that opportunity because it's very
- 1:07:10fucking rare. 90% of the time when you meet somebody out like
- 1:07:12that, you probably will never see them again out.
- 1:07:15Because they don't go out, they sit at home.
- 1:07:17They protect their peace, right? Going out every single weekend,
- 1:07:23like there's been points where I've had to fucking.
- 1:07:24Just. Friends, I've had to unfollow
- 1:07:27them on shit because I'm tired of seeing them fucking party.
- 1:07:29I'm tired of them living a life, and I know for a fact that
- 1:07:32they're not paying for all this shit and they're not doing
- 1:07:34anything like that. I don't want to get in that
- 1:07:35mindset to where I feel like I need to be out to feel included,
- 1:07:39you know? I need to kind of focus more on
- 1:07:42myself, get my shit together that way when it comes to it,
- 1:07:46because I want kids, I want a wife, and I've made that very
- 1:07:50fucking clear. Everybody knows this.
- 1:07:54I want a daughter. Multiple.
- 1:07:56I'm going to be a fucking girl. Dad, I fucking.
- 1:08:00That's something about it. I've had visions of my children,
- 1:08:03everything. Fun fact, my mom had visions.
- 1:08:09She was going to marry a musician and have two boys by
- 1:08:13him. My dad was a my dad was a
- 1:08:17musician. He said Oh no, this ain't
- 1:08:20happening. He thought me and my brother
- 1:08:22were going to be girls. She was on birth control twice.
- 1:08:25Both times two boys. Oh damn me and my brother.
- 1:08:30I had a vision multiple times of my two children just did not see
- 1:08:34who their mother was and it haunted me for years.
- 1:08:39I have it often. Like, I know what my children
- 1:08:42gonna look like and it's fucking like it's just like, shit, yeah.
- 1:08:47And my hair was a little bit longer than it is now.
- 1:08:50You're like it's it's coming soon, it's within, it's with the
- 1:08:53horizon. Literally coming soon.
- 1:08:57So it was probably in the next 5-5 years or so, but I was.
- 1:09:01Like fucking. Christ.
- 1:09:02But it's it's a lot more to dating man than people think
- 1:09:06man. Like now it's people just date
- 1:09:09within with you have to date with intention and not with with
- 1:09:12malice. Like, you know what I mean?
- 1:09:14Not just to get something out of it.
- 1:09:15And I feel like that's what a lot of dating is now.
- 1:09:18It's about social status and it's about, you know, what you
- 1:09:21can get out of the situation. A lot of these people, they get
- 1:09:24into relationships. It's like, oh, what do you bring
- 1:09:27to the table? You're saying that, but
- 1:09:29literally, what do you bring to the table?
- 1:09:30Bring nothing. There's a table set for two, but
- 1:09:34if you're going to just bring yourself and pull your chair and
- 1:09:36that's not, that's not, that's not equivalent.
- 1:09:39Yeah, if there's silverware there, bring a fucking plate.
- 1:09:42If there's plates and silverware, bring some napkins,
- 1:09:47arrange the table, do something. That sounds like a song.
- 1:09:50Sounds like you're making a song right now.
- 1:09:51I am. You're making a song right now.
- 1:09:53Really don't notice I'm putting shit together in my head, right?
- 1:09:55Now, yeah, kind of people. You are hella making a song
- 1:09:57right now it's. Gonna happen.
- 1:09:59It's gonna happen. All night.
- 1:10:00Yeah, it's gonna fuck it out. It's.
- 1:10:01Gonna be the music video for bitches and boats.
- 1:10:04Hold on, we're gonna. Puts me in a bad.
- 1:10:07No, we're gonna have to say women in boats, cuz I don't
- 1:10:10refer to women as bitches. So I'm sorry okay.
- 1:10:12So it's gonna have to be. Caught me in like 2 years after
- 1:10:16I feel. More confident in the base look.
- 1:10:19Let me just tell you this, Florida, nobody gives a fuck.
- 1:10:24I'm gonna be honest with you. Nobody, you know, Maybe that's
- 1:10:27why I need to go over there then?
- 1:10:28Dude, I'm telling you, like when I when I tell people to move to
- 1:10:31Florida, it's not because it's not sorry.
- 1:10:36No, it's OK. No, no, Sit down.
- 1:10:38We're good. It's just little water.
- 1:10:40Ain't nothing. Little water's gonna hurt.
- 1:10:41I've been in water before. I think it's like going.
- 1:10:43It's attracted to you. Let me go get.
- 1:10:45Something look at it. Look at it.
- 1:10:46Oh, look at it. It's coming towards.
- 1:10:47Me, I told you. It's fine.
- 1:10:49It's fine. It's fine.
- 1:10:49It's fine. It's fine.
- 1:10:51It's fine. I'll block it from going off.
- 1:10:53We're going to pause this. We're going to keep going.
- 1:10:55We'll have to pause it. OK?
- 1:10:57But yeah, it's like, see what else they can get out of it,
- 1:11:02man. It's just like nobody's dating
- 1:11:04to date anymore and people are too expendable.
- 1:11:07Like it. Feel like everybody thinks that
- 1:11:09they could just oh, if we get in the argument, oh, I got 15 other
- 1:11:14women or 15 other men that are date me anytime.
- 1:11:16Fuck you. You.
- 1:11:17Know what I mean? Nobody wants to fight for a
- 1:11:18relationship anymore. Everybody wants a relationship,
- 1:11:21but nobody wants to fight behind it all right?
- 1:11:22Or stand behind it. There's there's another thing
- 1:11:25from when you're getting disrespected, don't stand around
- 1:11:28for that shit. But when it comes to you having
- 1:11:30a just a simple ass argument and you don't want to work through
- 1:11:33it, that's the problem. That's another reason why I
- 1:11:36don't want to date, because nobody actually wants to fight
- 1:11:37for a relationship. And quite frankly, I don't have
- 1:11:41my shit together just yet. I'm working on that.
- 1:11:44So yeah, you guys should see how she's doing the circular motion.
- 1:11:49She's like a missus. Miyagi over here.
- 1:11:53Thank you. I appreciate you, O.
- 1:11:56K real quick, what is your definition of a date?
- 1:12:00A date? Yeah. 101 time?
- 1:12:03That's a good question. 101 time That date can be literally
- 1:12:06anything. I've got to the point now where
- 1:12:09I do not do traditional dates on the first date because I just
- 1:12:15feel like with today's society it's just to get a free fucking
- 1:12:18meal, to be honest with you. So we're going to go, I got a
- 1:12:21fucking hammock. We can go hammock and talk.
- 1:12:24I'll bring some wine. We could talk.
- 1:12:25We can get fucking do a puzzle or something.
- 1:12:27We can do something. It's too much shit to do out
- 1:12:30here rather than sit in front of each other and be awkward and
- 1:12:33not know what to talk about on the first fucking date.
- 1:12:36And a lot of people sit here and say, oh, what?
- 1:12:38I don't fucking like movies on the first date.
- 1:12:40OK, why don't you go to a movie first, then you can go to dinner
- 1:12:43after. That way you have something to
- 1:12:44fucking talk about. You don't think about that
- 1:12:47aspect of it. Or why don't you just go to a
- 1:12:52beach, watch the sunset, and just talk about life?
- 1:12:55And then if we feel like we want to have dinner or something like
- 1:12:57that, we can go fucking do that the next time.
- 1:13:00I feel like this generation is so worried about the upfront
- 1:13:03benefits, they don't think about anything else.
- 1:13:06They just think about what they can tell their friends.
- 1:13:08In my opinion, it's like, Oh yeah, we went to fucking the
- 1:13:13meat market. It's expensive.
- 1:13:14Place down the fucking temp. Oh, he must have some fucking
- 1:13:17money or something like that. Yeah, we're going to see where
- 1:13:19we can go next. We probably didn't like.
- 1:13:21It's just fucking. It's so weird, man.
- 1:13:24Like, no, sorry to say this. Any women that I run across in
- 1:13:28the next 2 1/2 years, I'm not buying you dinner on the first
- 1:13:31night. We're going to go experience
- 1:13:32something first. I want to know your character
- 1:13:36before we end up doing some of that.
- 1:13:37It might take two or three times, but I need to know your
- 1:13:39character to know what you're actually here for because it's
- 1:13:42been too many times where I've taken a woman out of dating.
- 1:13:45At the end of the day, she has to get up and go to the restroom
- 1:13:49right? Conveniently as a check to you
- 1:13:51brought out. I was like, I was like, what
- 1:13:54you've been left? No.
- 1:13:56Like, this is shitty shit like that.
- 1:13:58Like, it doesn't. It doesn't make any sense to me.
- 1:14:00In my opinion. I'm just like bro.
- 1:14:03If I ask you, I'm going to pay for it.
- 1:14:06You don't have to worry about that.
- 1:14:09If you ask me, that's where. That's where the line gets
- 1:14:14drawn. You know what I mean?
- 1:14:16I will offer to pay for it. But if you sit here and ask me
- 1:14:19like you go out of your way and be like, hey, let's go to dinner
- 1:14:23and then you get up when the chest getting brought brought to
- 1:14:27us, I know what it is. I'm going to pay for it anyway.
- 1:14:30But that is a strike in my mind. Yeah, that's a huge strike that
- 1:14:35just lets me know. Is that a common practice?
- 1:14:38What? Like that people do that.
- 1:14:41Like I I. Haven't Has that happened to
- 1:14:42you? I haven't.
- 1:14:43I haven't had it to me that that's I wonder.
- 1:14:45Twice. I wonder if that's like a
- 1:14:46Florida thing. No.
- 1:14:48And it happened in Virginia. And it happened, uh, once in
- 1:14:50Florida. Hmm.
- 1:14:52Damn. I didn't be doing shit like
- 1:14:53this. I don't do nothing.
- 1:14:55Yeah, I'm like. You're a gym.
- 1:14:56Except know it. I need to take some notes.
- 1:14:58Damn. You're you're a fucking gym
- 1:15:00because these some of these girls out here, I'm not gonna
- 1:15:03say women. Some of these girls out here
- 1:15:05really got it fucked up. Well, I guess like that goes
- 1:15:09both ways. And men, yeah.
- 1:15:10Yeah, like, honestly. Yeah, like they've been around
- 1:15:13some shitty people. Like, I have dude friends.
- 1:15:16That like, girlfriend is 9 months fucking pregnant.
- 1:15:20You're at the club. What the fuck are you doing?
- 1:15:22Oh man. Oh, we're arguing right now.
- 1:15:24Get your ass back home. That's the mother.
- 1:15:26Your fucking child, bro. I don't get fucking.
- 1:15:29You're arguing. You better massage her feet
- 1:15:30while you argue. Go get her some fucking Pickles
- 1:15:32or something, bro. You you got y'all are fucking
- 1:15:35up, man. Y'all don't understand how
- 1:15:37beautiful that fucking is. This woman is for nine months
- 1:15:40has carried your fucking child. You need to, I don't care how.
- 1:15:45There are certain situations where you just got to be like,
- 1:15:47OK, like you, but you got to understand like their hormones
- 1:15:51and stuff like that is way out of whack.
- 1:15:53You know how dangerous it is for a woman to have a baby.
- 1:15:57They can literally die. They can literally die 2020.
- 1:15:59Yeah, they can. Still die from.
- 1:16:00Having a baby still die from having a baby and complications
- 1:16:03crazy. And the baby can die and then
- 1:16:05you have to worry about the postpartum.
- 1:16:07The women. Women go through a lot when it
- 1:16:08comes to childbirth. That's why, like, I can't
- 1:16:11understand. In my opinion, pregnant women
- 1:16:13are the most beautiful women in the world to me.
- 1:16:15Like, I will literally walk up to a pregnant woman like you are
- 1:16:17fucking beautiful. And the appreciation, it's not
- 1:16:21even like a hit, hit on thing. It's like a it's an
- 1:16:23appreciation. Yeah.
- 1:16:24Yeah, like you were bringing life into this world and a lot
- 1:16:27of guys who cheat on their pregnant was fucking.
- 1:16:29I don't understand. Yeah, I just don't understand
- 1:16:34that make any sense to me. Yeah, as I said, my tequila.
- 1:16:38So switch off topics, though we went pretty deep, unless you
- 1:16:42want to still add some other. Do you have any other dating
- 1:16:44questions? We can do?
- 1:16:46Whatever. No, not really.
- 1:16:47But I mean, we can go back so. You, you, you brung up that your
- 1:16:52your mom had visions of your dad and you know that she was going
- 1:16:56to meet a musician and have a couple kids.
- 1:16:59Yeah. Tell us a little bit more about
- 1:17:04how your dad was a musician like did.
- 1:17:07Was that a lot of influence of you going into into making music
- 1:17:11like that He's sing around the house when you're young.
- 1:17:13And everything. He built a studio in our
- 1:17:16basement, like in professional studio over 20 years.
- 1:17:18Wow. Damn, it's been there for over
- 1:17:2120 years. That's where you've been at.
- 1:17:23Yeah. Recently.
- 1:17:24Okay. Yeah.
- 1:17:25Yeah. So I mean, whole family.
- 1:17:28I mean, I've always been the one to not do what everybody wants
- 1:17:31me to do. So I did the opposite.
- 1:17:33Now, being older, he tried to sit me down and play a piano.
- 1:17:37Tried to sit me down and play a keyboard.
- 1:17:39Yeah, play drums. But he tried to get me musically
- 1:17:42and something the fact that he wanted me to do it, I didn't
- 1:17:44want to do it just. Being fucking rebellious little
- 1:17:46bit. Just being sightful, you're like
- 1:17:48they wanna. Be They wanted me to play
- 1:17:49football because I was nationally good at football.
- 1:17:51You're like, fuck that. I fucking wrestled out of all
- 1:17:55things. I'm a read a book, you know.
- 1:17:58Yeah, exactly. That's.
- 1:17:58What it did like, there's no doubt in my mind.
- 1:18:02There's no doubt in my mind if I would have played football when
- 1:18:05they wanted me to play football and actually apply myself with
- 1:18:07it, I'd be professional right now.
- 1:18:10I mean, my uncle was a coach for Nebraska Hustlers.
- 1:18:13Then he went to the Oakland Raiders at one point.
- 1:18:15Then he went to Michigan, then he was at Minnesota.
- 1:18:17Like, it might have been like a, hey, get on your shit.
- 1:18:21And I can see if they want to, you know, kind of give you a
- 1:18:25scholarship to come Nebraska and stuff like that.
- 1:18:27But then I didn't want the handout because then I'm always
- 1:18:29going to be known as the coach's nephew, you know?
- 1:18:33So that's another reason why I didn't want to get into it,
- 1:18:34because I was fucking really good at football.
- 1:18:36I went to the football camp. They gave me the actual gloves
- 1:18:39that they play in, the actual clease that they play in and
- 1:18:45they, I constantly got asked every single day.
- 1:18:48So you've never played football, So no.
- 1:18:51And they're like, what? I'm like, I'm just an athlete
- 1:18:54like come on out and they had me playing corner and they had me
- 1:18:58playing rob receiver and I was good at both of them.
- 1:19:01That was good on defense and offense.
- 1:19:02It was like, now how the fuck does he not play football?
- 1:19:06And I'm like because everybody wants me.
- 1:19:08To yeah, I was about to say like because they want me to and I
- 1:19:10don't want to if. They want to if I swear to I
- 1:19:12swear to Bob. If they said wrestle Bob.
- 1:19:15Yeah. Is that what you said?
- 1:19:17Yeah. Bob, you swear to?
- 1:19:18Bob, shout out Riley. Jesus, that's one of my exes.
- 1:19:23She used to say that. Yeah, I swear to Bob Columbus.
- 1:19:27But yeah, like if they would have said Columbus wrestle, I
- 1:19:30would have played football. 90% of the time I think I would have
- 1:19:34played football. It's a reverse.
- 1:19:35Psychology worked back then. Definitely didn't.
- 1:19:39Definitely did not. Not in my mind.
- 1:19:41But yeah, I mean, no. He had no influence on anything
- 1:19:43I did. When it comes to music, I just
- 1:19:48said fuck it. I want to do it like I used to
- 1:19:51rap. I actually was really, really
- 1:19:54good at rapping at one point. Like really, really good.
- 1:19:59Like I could sit there and freestyle probably for 15
- 1:20:01minutes and while people throwing random words and
- 1:20:05literally. Freestyle for long periods of
- 1:20:07time, but I just never at that point.
- 1:20:11I hadn't recorded in like 6 years at that point when I was
- 1:20:14doing it like that, but I just didn't want to fucking rap.
- 1:20:17I didn't want to, I didn't want to be labeled as a fucking
- 1:20:20rapper, like you know what I mean?
- 1:20:21It's just something that came with the stigma of rapper that I
- 1:20:25didn't like, especially where music was heading towards, you
- 1:20:27know what I mean? So now do you like that label of
- 1:20:32R&B artists or no? Did we mess up by introducing
- 1:20:35you that way? No, you didn't.
- 1:20:36OK. But honestly, I don't mind it.
- 1:20:40You know, like people ask me what I do and tell them I'm a RB
- 1:20:44singer, but they, you know, they're like, wait, what?
- 1:20:49Yeah. The only downfall with that is
- 1:20:50they expect me to sound like certain people.
- 1:20:52They, you know, they hear how deep my voice is.
- 1:20:55Then they expect me to sound like Gibby on what I don't sound
- 1:20:58like, give you on. You're like, that's not fucking
- 1:21:00you. Yes, it is.
- 1:21:02Sing. Absolutely fucking not.
- 1:21:06But no, it's fine. Perfectly fine.
- 1:21:09Now I'm kind of getting into that, like, comfortability of
- 1:21:13being, you know, called an RB singer.
- 1:21:15But it's in a weird sense, it's kind of like me finding that
- 1:21:20lane. I'm still paving that lane.
- 1:21:22You know what I mean? To where?
- 1:21:25I'm trying not to sound like certain people because.
- 1:21:28You're still finding your voice. Still I have not found my voice
- 1:21:31yet. There's no way.
- 1:21:32My voice is just deep and I sing that high.
- 1:21:35No way. And fuck, so still trying to
- 1:21:38find my voice. But when I do, it's gonna get
- 1:21:41dark very fast. Very chocolatey, very
- 1:21:45chocolatey. What a beautiful chocolate man.
- 1:21:48I'm sorry, I had. To They don't call me chocolate
- 1:21:50Tarzan for nothing. They literally call me
- 1:21:55chocolatey. You were?
- 1:21:55Thinking it, but you said it. Triple T ka.
- 1:22:01Time. To totally kick ass.
- 1:22:05I love that movie. We gotta watch it.
- 1:22:08You were talking about a couple of things.
- 1:22:10Like, almost even. Just like living in the moment.
- 1:22:12Right. And a lot of times like living
- 1:22:14in the moment can be really just like finding ways to find joy
- 1:22:18and fulfillment in that moment in time.
- 1:22:21So how do you personally practice living in the present?
- 1:22:25And how does that influence your creative process?
- 1:22:28Stay in the fuck off my phone. Not everything is for Instagram,
- 1:22:33You know what I mean? I feel like too many people get
- 1:22:36caught trying to show that they're doing something.
- 1:22:41Like somebody told me that my last job, your 20s, is worried
- 1:22:49about what everybody thinks. Your 40s is starting out to
- 1:22:55care. When you reach 60, you realize
- 1:22:58nobody was really even fucking paying attention to you.
- 1:23:02So we spend all this time worrying about what everybody
- 1:23:07else is thinking or portraying this image and we're not getting
- 1:23:10paid for it. If you get paid for it, fuck it,
- 1:23:12Go ahead and do what you do. But majority of these people are
- 1:23:15not getting fucking paid for it. I see living in a moment to me
- 1:23:19is like enjoying and embracing everything.
- 1:23:22It's okay to take pictures, don't get me wrong, and videos
- 1:23:24for yourself, quite frankly, It's your life.
- 1:23:28You could do whatever you want, but when it comes to a fact, a
- 1:23:31point to where you're just trying to make it seem like
- 1:23:33you're doing something when you're really not, like, Drake
- 1:23:35said. You've taken pictures from
- 1:23:38months ago and posted them as if you're still there.
- 1:23:41I just saw you last night and you consistently posted to make
- 1:23:45it seem like you're. Somewhere you're not.
- 1:23:48That's not living in the moment, you're you're you're living in
- 1:23:51the moment of what people think you were doing.
- 1:23:54Living in a moment is about embracing your surroundings,
- 1:23:57sitting there and and grounding yourself, understanding that it
- 1:24:01could be worse, you know, So being in a moment is really.
- 1:24:06Really. Something essential to me, like
- 1:24:08if I'm around people and the only thing they're on their
- 1:24:10phone, I would literally get pissed off.
- 1:24:13I'd be like, yo the fuck off your phone, bro.
- 1:24:16Like what are you doing? Oh man, you go.
- 1:24:19Just no, you won't fucking Sandra to see this shit to make.
- 1:24:24It seem like you got something going on that you really don't,
- 1:24:27you know? But it definitely heavily
- 1:24:30influenced my music because it let me know how to, if I'm
- 1:24:33feeling a certain way, to just let it go.
- 1:24:35You know what I mean? We spend too much time grieving
- 1:24:38over certain things, and everybody has their own time of
- 1:24:41grieve. But we sometimes it gets
- 1:24:44extended a little bit too long, you know what I mean?
- 1:24:48And that's just I I used to do that and I let it built up and
- 1:24:52that's what landed me in a mental hospital because I never
- 1:24:56let anything go. And finally caught up to me and
- 1:24:59it got triggered by somebody saying something I don't even
- 1:25:01know what they said, can't even remember.
- 1:25:04And it sent me into a spiral. So that lets me like whenever I
- 1:25:09go through a breakup or something like that or stop
- 1:25:12talking to somebody or somebody says something kind of just rubs
- 1:25:14me the wrong way. Y'all can call it petty if you
- 1:25:17want to, but it makes great fucking music because it's very
- 1:25:20relatable because when you think about it, like a lot of the
- 1:25:24they're not released yet. So a lot of people have not
- 1:25:28heard the rawness like very very, very, very raw songs that
- 1:25:34I that I've written based off some experiences that I've had.
- 1:25:40But they will get released one day when I'm able to you know,
- 1:25:44when I'm able to actually sit down and tap back into that
- 1:25:47emotion. But it's I think it's very
- 1:25:49essential to live in the moment because you don't have too many
- 1:25:52moments. If you really think about it,
- 1:25:552910 years ago was my ten year anniversary of high school Fuck.
- 1:26:05And it seems like it was just yesterday.
- 1:26:08I was just here in December until now.
- 1:26:11My dad is not the same person he was in December.
- 1:26:15Time is of the essence. And when you're not living in a
- 1:26:18moment to kind of have those memories and you're just worried
- 1:26:21about everything else, I mean, why even be there?
- 1:26:25In my opinion, that's just like going to Paris and having your
- 1:26:28phone out the whole time. Taking, you know, videos on
- 1:26:32FaceTime or live at the Eiffel Tower, bro, you're not even
- 1:26:36enjoying it. You're sitting in front of the
- 1:26:37fucking Eiffel Tower. Not everybody gets to go there
- 1:26:40and you're you're wasting this on an IG Live video to show
- 1:26:44people you got money to go to fucking Paris.
- 1:26:46Nobody cares, bro. Enjoy this shit.
- 1:26:48Just take the picture and move. On take the picture, move on and
- 1:26:50go up. Go look at this.
- 1:26:52You're going to laugh because I'm taking some right now, but.
- 1:26:54We need. Some we need some from this
- 1:26:56angle. Keep going though.
- 1:26:59But yeah. Yeah, I was at the the festival
- 1:27:02over the weekend you know main stage and you know on all the
- 1:27:05yeah I do dance music and stuff. The all the Ravy stuff and you
- 1:27:09know all the on the big drops and you know everybody's phone
- 1:27:11goes up and putting it on their Snapchat and stuff.
- 1:27:15Like I I took a few videos, but I didn't post e-mail because I
- 1:27:18was like, I want those just for me.
- 1:27:19Yeah, if I go to anything like that, because my buddies are
- 1:27:22really good DJ in in Tampa, the first thing I do when I get
- 1:27:25there is I take a video of him. And tag him to let people know
- 1:27:31that he DJs and after that my phone's fucking up, my phone's
- 1:27:35up, One video of him and I'm enjoying and just watching them.
- 1:27:37You. Know what I mean?
- 1:27:38That's that's how you do support right there.
- 1:27:41I always. I mean, he played my music in
- 1:27:42Greece at a wedding I had like an and I'm in debt to him.
- 1:27:47I gotta do this now. Heck yeah.
- 1:27:49Yeah, yeah, Our Mia. Emily, she she got a few
- 1:27:54pictures and videos of me and I was like, oh cool, thank you so
- 1:27:57much dude. It means a lot man, when when
- 1:27:59you have friends to come and actually do that, cuz you're
- 1:28:01like man, fuck, they actually came to support me, man.
- 1:28:04And then when I go post them or whatever, I tag them in it too.
- 1:28:06Like, yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you credit if you're gonna
- 1:28:09do that for me. Yeah, cuz takes a lot to get
- 1:28:12somebody to do that shit, you know?
- 1:28:13Yeah cuz otherwise, you know, everybody could just be fucked
- 1:28:16up partying and just here doing my thing. 90% of them are fucked
- 1:28:20up partying. Yep, and don't even remember
- 1:28:22taking the videos so. It's a beautiful thing, the
- 1:28:25professional photographer probably not going to get over
- 1:28:28to me. Yeah, So thank you.
- 1:28:33Thank you for the pictures and all the support guys.
- 1:28:36I honestly think they, the photographers need to make it
- 1:28:39like in Tampa. They actually make it a thing to
- 1:28:41where they make sure the DJ's actually get pictures of them
- 1:28:44doing their work. Oh, nice.
- 1:28:46Yeah. See a place called WTR?
- 1:28:49It's called Water and it's a pull party every single weekend
- 1:28:53and every single DJ that comes from Medusa to Carnage to, you
- 1:28:58know, the guy who wears the pickle thing on his head.
- 1:29:01I don't know. Yeah, Pickle.
- 1:29:02Yeah, Pickle. Fucking.
- 1:29:04Then where's the pickle thing on the thing?
- 1:29:06Pickle. Yeah.
- 1:29:08Absolutely. I can tell you how I am, but
- 1:29:10they go there and they make sure they give.
- 1:29:12They get. They have two or three
- 1:29:13photographers up there getting photos of them, getting videos
- 1:29:15of them and then they go around to the crowd and start taking
- 1:29:18pictures of videos, but they make sure.
- 1:29:20I feel like that needs to come with it, like when it comes to a
- 1:29:23DJ or somebody. Gay.
- 1:29:25I'll do it. Fucking take photos of me
- 1:29:27though. And at work, you know, Yeah,
- 1:29:32yeah. So what are your plans for the
- 1:29:34future, if any, both personal and professionally, to actually
- 1:29:41practice my craft? Cuz I don't practice at all.
- 1:29:44It's been like fucking a week since I've actually sang.
- 1:29:49I I read something like a week or two ago that said us artists
- 1:29:54are inherently lazy. Yeah, we.
- 1:29:56Very. Very dude.
- 1:29:58Like the whole three years. Actually, the moment I've It was
- 1:30:032011 when I figured out I can hold a note from 2011 all the
- 1:30:07way until now. I don't think I've ever
- 1:30:10practiced over an hour, and I've maybe only practiced like an
- 1:30:14hour. Maybe I can count on one hand
- 1:30:18and that's fucking 10 years, 12 years.
- 1:30:21Yeah, yeah, That's fucking crazy.
- 1:30:23And like. When you were touching on
- 1:30:25earlier like. If I practiced, I'd be ungodly
- 1:30:32good. Like, you know what I mean?
- 1:30:33Like it's just, I know this. That's why I'm so hard on myself
- 1:30:36and the fact that I don't kind of.
- 1:30:39I mean, I'm just getting in my own way.
- 1:30:41Like I just like, I don't know why I don't like it's just it's
- 1:30:45fucking stupid. So my my plan for the future is
- 1:30:49to actually kind of hone in on my craft and learn an instrument
- 1:30:53too, is what I really want to do, because I want to learn how
- 1:30:56to play guitar so I can just walk around and you know, kind
- 1:31:00of sing and stuff like that. But that's what I really,
- 1:31:03really, that's going to be. My main objective is to do that
- 1:31:06and to work on my song process because as of lately have not
- 1:31:13been able to write anything. No inspiration.
- 1:31:17Somebody break my heart, please. That's what I was.
- 1:31:18Gonna say you gotta. Get your heart broken again or
- 1:31:20something. Or something.
- 1:31:22Fuck. Do you ever?
- 1:31:23So no instruments like as a kid either.
- 1:31:25Like just drums. Just drums.
- 1:31:27Haven't played drums in like 17 years.
- 1:31:29Exactly 17 years. How?
- 1:31:31How? Old were you when you play drums
- 1:31:343rd through 5th grade or something like third to like 6th
- 1:31:37grade? Yeah, some ways like that.
- 1:31:39But yeah, man, like it just, it's starting.
- 1:31:41Honestly it's starting to get fucking redundant because I was
- 1:31:45texting one of my friends the other day and I was telling her
- 1:31:46I was like man, I don't know what the fuck, what the fuck to
- 1:31:48write about. I don't want do I need to write
- 1:31:50about a heartbreak Do it like it got to the point to where I was
- 1:31:53listening to a song or like a beat.
- 1:31:56I was like, damn, I can go two ways with this.
- 1:31:58I can either do like a like a heartbroken like you're a liar
- 1:32:02type song or I can do a no holds bar for Rated R like type shit.
- 1:32:10And both of them literally had. The same fucking beginning line.
- 1:32:15It's just everything after that switched and it's like it goes
- 1:32:18into a progressive like, OK, you lied to me.
- 1:32:21And then the other one goes to OK, like, I'll just say some of
- 1:32:26the lyrics right now. I was like, it was like, you got
- 1:32:29me running. Red lights, red lights.
- 1:32:32I need to stop for a second. The other one was like, turn on
- 1:32:35the red lights, red lights, something, something.
- 1:32:37It was something sexual. So it was like, you see, like
- 1:32:40it's. It's both the same thing and I
- 1:32:42like I literally stopped at the same point on both songs.
- 1:32:45I. Got maybe 4 bars and just
- 1:32:47stopped. I'm like, I don't know where I
- 1:32:48want to go with this song. Yeah, because I feel like I have
- 1:32:51a lot of songs about fucking sex and I feel like I have a lot of
- 1:32:53songs about fucking shit like this.
- 1:32:55I said it's starting to feel fucking redundant, but then I go
- 1:32:58and listen to my favorite artist and it's literally the same.
- 1:33:01Fucking song. Yeah, so I'm like, man, I just
- 1:33:05get to a point where I'm like, I feel like people love hearing.
- 1:33:11The heartbreak songs. And they only want famous people
- 1:33:15to talk in nasty senses on songs like you sit here and watch
- 1:33:19Women on TikTok all day quoting the baby talking about fucking
- 1:33:23putting fingers down their throats and shit like that.
- 1:33:25But the moment I do it, it's like, I think I'd like you
- 1:33:31better when you talk about love, OK?
- 1:33:36Trey Songz, do it. You lose your fucking mind.
- 1:33:39So my main focus is to try to get better when it comes to
- 1:33:42writing and getting out of my own head and really honing on my
- 1:33:46craft and taking the opportunities that are given
- 1:33:49because they're not like. This dude's not going to keep
- 1:33:51you inviting me to fucking LA At some point he's going to be
- 1:33:54like, OK, you're bullshitting. And he's he's been a vocal coach
- 1:33:58for some of the top names in the industry.
- 1:34:02At some point you just gotta like at some point sell
- 1:34:05everything and just go except for my body.
- 1:34:09Yeah, I mean, I was talking about like a stove and a
- 1:34:12microwave, but. OK, she said.
- 1:34:14Sell everything, ma'am. I was talking about a stove.
- 1:34:19Yeah, sure, she was. I.
- 1:34:21Was. Damn, she had too much tequila
- 1:34:23and berries. Right.
- 1:34:26No but one. Second one second.
- 1:34:28I don't want to lose this because I just thought of it.
- 1:34:30Yeah, yeah, our song, our boat song.
- 1:34:33I just. The boats and houses came up
- 1:34:34with a better title. It's gonna be Baddies on a Trip,
- 1:34:38which spells boat. Baddies.
- 1:34:41I like that trip. Damn, I liked it.
- 1:34:44I felt like. It was nice play on board.
- 1:34:45Don't. Forget it.
- 1:34:46I gotta say it. The acronym was amazing.
- 1:34:48The acronym was amazing. It's gonna say B dot O dot A dot
- 1:34:51T yes and then under. Gonna say the words, Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:34:55Then we're gonna have an empty ass boat with no woman.
- 1:34:59I invite none of that. Would be funny.
- 1:35:01Holy shit. You know what?
- 1:35:03That would probably go viral. We were just sitting there
- 1:35:05talking about all these women and there's like, no.
- 1:35:08And we're just looking around and here, like, where the Where
- 1:35:10the fuck are these women at? Yeah, yeah, we didn't invite
- 1:35:12them there. Welcome.
- 1:35:13Because we're the baddies. Yeah, we're taking our self on
- 1:35:17the trip. Yes, just grow your hair out so
- 1:35:19we can hair flip, man. Fuck.
- 1:35:22You should. You should.
- 1:35:23I can't. I found the secret to make it.
- 1:35:27Yeah, to make that happen. If Tory Lanez.
- 1:35:29Did it? You can't.
- 1:35:33I I was just gonna ask. You were talking about, you
- 1:35:36know, opportunity doesn't come knocking twice so far.
- 1:35:40It's come knocking more than twice for you.
- 1:35:44But you also have a lot of important things that you're
- 1:35:46juggling right now. You know you've shared with me
- 1:35:49why you're back and who you're back for.
- 1:35:53So how do you balance what's important in your life and how
- 1:35:57do you prioritize that? It's hard.
- 1:35:59It's very hard because I'm a pleaser in multiple ways.
- 1:36:04So when it comes to like, you know, I I got to come to
- 1:36:10realization that there are going to be some people who get upset.
- 1:36:13You know what I mean? That I'm not going to be able
- 1:36:15to, you know, please. In that sense, it's extremely
- 1:36:20hard for me because I want to be like fucking Superman to
- 1:36:24everybody, you know what I mean? So it's I got to take time to
- 1:36:28prioritize certain things, and I got to kind of slow down my
- 1:36:34temper towards certain things. Because it's not that I'm
- 1:36:37getting pissed off at them. I'm getting upset at the
- 1:36:40situation. Like I'll get snippy with my
- 1:36:43dad. He doesn't know what's going on.
- 1:36:45But it's so fucking frustrating to me that we let it get this
- 1:36:50fucking far and nobody's done anything to try to either slow
- 1:36:54it or get him some fucking help. Nobody, Nobody in the family.
- 1:36:59So that's frustrating. Then I got a brother, one of my
- 1:37:02half brothers, that's pretty much on the spectrum.
- 1:37:05He probably shouldn't even graduate, graduated high school.
- 1:37:08Who doesn't understand this shit?
- 1:37:10So you got my dad saying things He doesn't mean he thinks he's
- 1:37:13thrill on it. So it's like, and then he asked
- 1:37:16all these questions to me and I'm getting fucking frustrated
- 1:37:19because I'm like, what the fuck? You know what I mean?
- 1:37:21So it's kind of this is, it's really hard to juggle, man.
- 1:37:28Made him cry the other day and didn't fucking mean to.
- 1:37:30And I was like, fuck, maybe I was being too hard on, but it's
- 1:37:32like just bringing them to the realization they're like, dude,
- 1:37:35that's not dad that you know it's not.
- 1:37:38And unfortunately, at this rate, he might not have much longer.
- 1:37:45As in, hopefully we get more than five years out of, out out
- 1:37:49of the whole situation. But when he's gone, you're all
- 1:37:53he knows. I mean, he's all, you know.
- 1:37:56So what are you going to do after that, dude?
- 1:37:59Like, it's about time you start getting a grip on your life,
- 1:38:02man, and start understanding that you can do this on your
- 1:38:04own. You've done it for 39 years.
- 1:38:07You can, you can live on your own, do do what you want to do,
- 1:38:10live your life. You have yet to live your life.
- 1:38:12You're 39 years old. So that broke my heart.
- 1:38:18So it's like, fuck, it's getting to the point where it's hard to
- 1:38:23look at certain people because I'm just dealing with so much
- 1:38:27shit, you know, This last seven months has probably been the
- 1:38:34most trying situation. Lost my job same day.
- 1:38:40Figured out I was losing my grandma.
- 1:38:42Same day, figured out I was losing my girlfriend.
- 1:38:45So it was it was like all that shit.
- 1:38:47And then building up and then didn't make it.
- 1:38:50See my grandma. She passed away as on the as I
- 1:38:52was on the way to the airport and then broke it was a
- 1:38:56girlfriend and didn't have the job anymore.
- 1:38:58It's like fucking Christ got an argument all it's just a lot.
- 1:39:01It's like this year has been fucking very very very trying
- 1:39:06and trying to juggle all of it. I only got 2 hands.
- 1:39:09I just got to figure out which ones I want to throw in the air
- 1:39:11and which ones to catch. And if I drop one, which one
- 1:39:14wouldn't matter as much because it's going to?
- 1:39:17It's bound to happen. I feel like you need a shot.
- 1:39:21Yeah, I need. I need something more.
- 1:39:23Please, for the love of God. But no.
- 1:39:25First I do want to say wow, thank you for being so
- 1:39:30vulnerable. Honestly, thank you for sharing
- 1:39:34that with us. I think it goes back to
- 1:39:38everything you've been saying so far throughout the podcast is
- 1:39:41like men have feelings too, and really, fully embracing that.
- 1:39:47It's so hard for so many men to embrace that and for anyone to
- 1:39:52really give them the space and the opportunity to feel like
- 1:39:57they can and that they're valid and that they can say through
- 1:39:59that, say all that. So thank you for coming on and
- 1:40:02sharing that because you having that voice and you sharing that
- 1:40:06continues to normalize it. Yeah, And I tell all men, if you
- 1:40:10if you have something you want to talk about, DM's are open.
- 1:40:16You don't know how many men have reached out to me and talk, try
- 1:40:19to, you know, just express themselves and and anything of
- 1:40:24that. And also it don't matter if
- 1:40:27you're gay, straight, bisexual, nonbinary, transgender, anything
- 1:40:33of that nature. If you want to have a
- 1:40:34conversation, I'm open to it, to talk about that because I take
- 1:40:37mental health very seriously and everybody needs somebody to talk
- 1:40:44to. And I know that's probably
- 1:40:46shooting myself in the foot because because I'm empathic and
- 1:40:49I pretty much take on everything that I hear and feel.
- 1:40:52So I mean, in my opinion, it's worth it.
- 1:40:56I just got to learn how to juggle that, you know, as we
- 1:40:58talked earlier. Well, we're gonna switch to
- 1:41:01something a little lighter. Let's do it.
- 1:41:04And also thank you again for that because damn, now y'all
- 1:41:09know we got a certified other therapists over here.
- 1:41:12No, this is definitely the podcast where we love to talk
- 1:41:14about mental health. So again, thank you.
- 1:41:17Seriously, thank you for being so vulnerable with us.
- 1:41:19Something that we're we're towards the end of the podcast.
- 1:41:22We like to do this thing called Lightning Round and we didn't
- 1:41:25even cheers this yet. Cheers Yes.
- 1:41:29During the lightning round we're just going to ask you a bunch of
- 1:41:34sorry took a shot. Shit, damn.
- 1:41:37OK. Lights went.
- 1:41:39Off that one hit different too. OK, during the lightning ground,
- 1:41:43we're going to ask you a bunch of random questions, Say what's
- 1:41:46quick top of your mind? And we'll ask why and then we'll
- 1:41:49move on. All right.
- 1:41:51So if you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
- 1:41:58Extreme knowledge. Why?
- 1:42:02Because I would know everything. I would know the trace to
- 1:42:05everything, any and everything. I would know how to cure things.
- 1:42:09I would know how to make an abundance of money.
- 1:42:10I would know how to change certain things in the world,
- 1:42:14like the starvation in Africa, the wars that are going on in
- 1:42:18Germany, a lot of shit oil problems, minerals that can
- 1:42:22supplement oil, things like that, nature.
- 1:42:25There's a lot of things behind, a lot of knowledge that is known
- 1:42:30but isn't shared. Gotcha fair.
- 1:42:33Yep. Okay.
- 1:42:35Well, OK, this, this, this. Go to it.
- 1:42:37What is your? I'm gonna skip that question
- 1:42:39because. Well it's cuz you said you don't
- 1:42:41like to perform live that much. OK, what is your favorite song
- 1:42:44to perform live or would want to?
- 1:42:48Sex room. Sex Room.
- 1:42:49OK, Why? Because I get to tap into my I
- 1:42:53used to be an ex dancer, like a male entertainer.
- 1:42:56Dang, look at you. Your dit sell your body.
- 1:43:00I didn't it. Was for cancer.
- 1:43:01It was for cancer. It was for cancer.
- 1:43:03Here in Wichita, seriously, dance is for cancer.
- 1:43:05So. Wait, did you do the drag queen
- 1:43:08one? No, hell, okay.
- 1:43:09But we've. Had a couple of friends who've
- 1:43:10done that. But no, seriously, it's called
- 1:43:12Dancer for cancer, and we raised money for leukemia, lymphoma
- 1:43:15societies and stuff like that and Cancer Research.
- 1:43:18So yes, I did take off my. Chores.
- 1:43:21Not drawers, but my tight ass pants.
- 1:43:25Did you have the ones that like rip off?
- 1:43:26Yeah, my friend actually made. We cut my jeans and we made some
- 1:43:30one of my really good friends and she was who.
- 1:43:33I was that then? No, that was in Tampa.
- 1:43:36Okay. That was at WTR, the place I was
- 1:43:39talking to you, to DJ's You can actually.
- 1:43:41I think I posted a video on here.
- 1:43:43Go if you can go back and see. We're on Columbus's Instagram
- 1:43:48right now. Yeah, you guys should go.
- 1:43:51Through some of these pictures. I had one called.
- 1:43:54The chocolate Tarzan. Right here, Right there, Lord.
- 1:43:59That was my live performance of it.
- 1:44:02Oh, this is when you you did the thing.
- 1:44:05With the body and the stuff. Yes.
- 1:44:11I love this song because it just allows me to do whatever the
- 1:44:14fuck I want to do. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:44:16Like, honestly bro, this is a spare of the moment type thing.
- 1:44:19Yeah, and that room was a bunch of fucking rappers, yeah.
- 1:44:22And I have a thing called the Fuck It button.
- 1:44:25And I hit the Fuck It button. Yeah.
- 1:44:27And I decided I was like, this song is about one thing and one
- 1:44:29thing only. Sex.
- 1:44:31Uhhuh. So I need to sell that as best
- 1:44:33as I can. Yeah.
- 1:44:34Yeah. And I've been listening to them
- 1:44:35before everybody. Main opportunity right now for
- 1:44:39you to be it was it was definitely interesting.
- 1:44:42I that's one thing I do I can do is captivate a fucking crowd and
- 1:44:46get them into it. And especially like if it's a
- 1:44:48crowd of women. Yeah, because I know exactly
- 1:44:50what they look at me and see me as.
- 1:44:51But when it comes like. When I'm in that zone right
- 1:44:54there, that is a different. That zone right there, That one,
- 1:44:57that's. That was a different zone when I
- 1:45:01saw, When I saw that back, I played it like 50 times.
- 1:45:09I was like, whoa, wait a minute. And at that point, when I did
- 1:45:14this video, it's been like fucking five years since I've
- 1:45:16danced, Like, danced. Yeah, that that mode, right?
- 1:45:20Yeah, I was like, Oh my God, Lord have mercy on my soul and
- 1:45:24hers, but. You're going to like, burn when
- 1:45:27you go into a church. Yeah.
- 1:45:29Hey, the devil's going to send me back to heaven.
- 1:45:31That's what all I need to say isn't like, this dude asks too
- 1:45:33many fucking questions. Hey, man, why is it so hot you
- 1:45:36ain't got A/C down here? You ever get your toes done?
- 1:45:39But but yeah, yeah, basically that that song is by far, I feel
- 1:45:45like. My most authentic, like 90s
- 1:45:48style vintage R&B song. But it also allows me to be,
- 1:45:57that's to be straight up. I'm a very sexual fucking
- 1:45:59person, so it allows me to be 100% me.
- 1:46:03And when I I mean the song is honestly, in my opinion, the
- 1:46:06song is really, really, really fucking good.
- 1:46:10But when you add to like, I'm not on a Chris Brown level,
- 1:46:13fucking flipping the shit on stage, but I'm.
- 1:46:16They am. They're better than majority of
- 1:46:17these other R&B artists to fucking dance and do all that
- 1:46:19other shit. And I definitely have more
- 1:46:20fucking sexual pills, so why not fucking use it?
- 1:46:23Why not showcase that? You know what I mean?
- 1:46:25I mean, that's what people are going to view me as anyway when
- 1:46:27it comes to my music. Columbus Berry the artist is a
- 1:46:31completely different guy than Columbus Berry that walks around
- 1:46:34the street. Literally the same guy, but
- 1:46:36different, if that makes any sense.
- 1:46:38I don't walk around here just showcasing like my sexuality as
- 1:46:43as like a. As a man, when I'm walking
- 1:46:46around here on a daily basis, I wear the loud shit.
- 1:46:48But like, I'm not just sitting out here.
- 1:46:50Now, if I go into a atmosphere like that, it's sex, sex, love,
- 1:46:56love, sex. More sex, love, you know what I
- 1:46:59mean? But when it's Columbus Berry,
- 1:47:01it's like I'm a gentle guy. Like you know what I mean?
- 1:47:03Soft spoke. I mean soft spoken with a deep
- 1:47:05voice, but you know, just very soft spoken and kind of like
- 1:47:09chill, relax, loving. But when it comes to the RB,
- 1:47:12sides are completely different. Guy, but the same guy, if that
- 1:47:15makes any sense. You just see another Ave. of me.
- 1:47:19Yeah, yeah. Makes perfect sense.
- 1:47:21So you've told us a lot of pet peeves too.
- 1:47:25What is your most unpopular opinion?
- 1:47:28Like? If you there's this thing
- 1:47:30example, we had Josue last and he was like, I don't like bacon
- 1:47:35on my hamburger. He's crazy.
- 1:47:37Yeah, definitely. Serial killer.
- 1:47:40So what is your unpopular opinion?
- 1:47:46Unpopular opinion? Damn.
- 1:47:48That's gonna be a tough one. I guess I mean it.
- 1:47:52You're not taking someone on the first day, not taking them to
- 1:47:56dinner. Unpopular opinion.
- 1:48:01If girls don't have to wear underwear, men don't either.
- 1:48:07Facts. Unpopular opinion Facts.
- 1:48:11No, right. OK, I'm not going to ask
- 1:48:14anymore. Any up and any up and coming
- 1:48:17projects we should be aware of? No projects.
- 1:48:20I'm solely focused on singles that way.
- 1:48:23It forces you guys to listen because I've I've noticed
- 1:48:26something real early, but a lot of artists don't understand as
- 1:48:28they try to sit here and put out albums and shit like that.
- 1:48:32For what? 90% of the time they're going to
- 1:48:35listen to the first three songs and the rest of the songs aren't
- 1:48:37going to get played. And I noticed that early.
- 1:48:39So I looked at my project and I saw my first project.
- 1:48:42A lot of the first two songs were getting played a lot the
- 1:48:45last two weren't, but they were the best songs on there.
- 1:48:48So I was like, it's either the way I structured it or it's, you
- 1:48:52know, I'm not going to lie, I go to Chris Brown's album and
- 1:48:55listen to the first four or five songs.
- 1:48:56When you got 40 fucking songs in there, you don't want to listen
- 1:48:59to all of them. You know what I mean?
- 1:49:00You got to give people time to consume the songs.
- 1:49:03So that's why I started dropping every single song independently.
- 1:49:09Because what people don't know is sex, room, sex, me, nice to
- 1:49:16meet you, and love and affection.
- 1:49:20We're all supposed to be in one part from one project.
- 1:49:22It was supposed to be 5050, volume 2.
- 1:49:25Yeah, but drop them as independent songs.
- 1:49:28Yeah, well, hey, you're getting more.
- 1:49:31You're getting more lessons that way.
- 1:49:32Yeah, it definitely are. It's forcing people to listen,
- 1:49:37dance and a few other songs are going to be.
- 1:49:41That on a project we're going to be on a project called Back to
- 1:49:44the Basics was pretty much going to be like a nineties, 80s style
- 1:49:48like you know, like Michael Jackson feel like I have all the
- 1:49:52other songs already written. One of them was prerecorded.
- 1:49:55Oh, you got the red jacket in the picture?
- 1:49:57Yeah, I was thinking about earlier.
- 1:49:58Little, little, little subliminals there.
- 1:50:00Yeah, yeah, yeah, slow it down. Take me back.
- 1:50:06We're actually written the same fucking day.
- 1:50:09OK. Yeah, Take Me Back was recorded
- 1:50:13in my living room and sent to a dude in Barbados.
- 1:50:16It was his beat that he put on there and we produced it.
- 1:50:19It wouldn't let me upload it 90 seconds.
- 1:50:23I think it was like 90 or something seconds like that and
- 1:50:26I went back and resang the original version of it because
- 1:50:30he clipped everything and put it together to original.
- 1:50:33I went back, rerecorded it the original way with the clipped,
- 1:50:37yeah, and resang all of it. And dropped it again.
- 1:50:40Yeah, Making Love was supposed to be on there with Don't Hide
- 1:50:46in another song, another two songs.
- 1:50:48That was supposed to be another project called Love Struck.
- 1:50:53So I broke them all up. I have everything categorized
- 1:50:57and I broke them all up. I was like, you know what?
- 1:51:00They're going to consume these. They're going to have to listen
- 1:51:03to them because it's no point in me dropping the fucking project
- 1:51:06if I'm not known. Now when I get a following and
- 1:51:09I'm starting to be, you know, a well known artist, then I will
- 1:51:13drop the, you know the projects for like 4 or five songs.
- 1:51:16Not dropping the album. The album's going to be dropped
- 1:51:19if I get signed or something like that.
- 1:51:21That way they can base my what I can what they think I could do
- 1:51:25with my projected. Or whatever.
- 1:51:27The fuck. Based off of the album sales,
- 1:51:30because I haven't had an album yet.
- 1:51:31I've only had projects. You can't base an album, You
- 1:51:35don't have one. But if you have an album, like
- 1:51:37some of these artists are stupidly doing, and you get 1000
- 1:51:40plays on the album and then you get in front of Sony Records,
- 1:51:43you're like, bro, your album only streamed 1000 fucking
- 1:51:46STREAMS. Okay, our our $1,000,000 offer
- 1:51:50is now $25. I mean, that's all.
- 1:51:54That's all fucking Spotify paid you.
- 1:51:56Yeah, Why should we pay you $1,000,000 for something you're
- 1:51:58not even selling? You're not even getting in front
- 1:52:00of people. So we don't know if you're going
- 1:52:03to, you know, why do you think Russ drops single songs?
- 1:52:09Damn cheat codes. Cheat codes?
- 1:52:11He even says it. I'm copying what he said
- 1:52:13directly, Yeah. It's just I'm not being as
- 1:52:16consistent as him. He was dropping a song a fucking
- 1:52:18day. Damn.
- 1:52:19I don't have that much of A catalog, and it's a lot harder
- 1:52:22for me because I sing, you know what I mean?
- 1:52:24It's different. You can't keep dropping.
- 1:52:26If you drop a song a day, it's gonna start all intertwined.
- 1:52:29It's gonna be the same fucking song.
- 1:52:31I don't do that. I don't do that.
- 1:52:32Not gonna happen. Yeah, well those are the cheat
- 1:52:35codes here. So what's a favorite or what's a
- 1:52:38conspiracy theory that you believe in?
- 1:52:41Conspiracy theory? If you think we are alone here,
- 1:52:46you are out of your fucking mind.
- 1:52:47Yeah, that one's easy. Pick another.
- 1:52:52Everyone says aliens, not you gotta.
- 1:52:53No, she wasn't even gonna let me get to it.
- 1:52:58Oh, OK Are you gonna say ghosts? She just kind of no, she
- 1:52:57literally cut me off. I had more to.
- 1:53:00No, I wasn't gonna say. All right.
- 1:53:01No, next. No, no, seriously.
- 1:53:03No, seriously. We've only like the Earth is 70%
- 1:53:07water, 30% land we've only discovered.
- 1:53:09You believe in mermaids. Look, here's I believe in.
- 1:53:13Here's what I'm gonna say. That's my favorite.
- 1:53:14You can't say something doesn't exist just because you have not
- 1:53:17seen it. Yeah.
- 1:53:18What I have a firm belief in if we've only discovered 5% of the
- 1:53:23land and fucking less than that of the ocean, yeah, how are you
- 1:53:27going to sit here and say something doesn't exist?
- 1:53:29They say Bigfoots are not real, but people don't realize that
- 1:53:3250,000 years ago really isn't that long ago.
- 1:53:34And there was an ape called the Giganta Pitacus.
- 1:53:38Gigantopithesis. Gigantopithecus.
- 1:53:41Gigantopithecus. Yes, and it was.
- 1:53:44Yes, you need another shot, but it was a large ape that's still
- 1:53:48upright and it was about maybe 13 to 15 foot tall, yeah.
- 1:53:55And there could still be 50,000 years ago.
- 1:53:58Isn't that long ago? Because they found a prehistoric
- 1:54:00shark that swam in Asia seven years ago that they tried to
- 1:54:03remove from the ocean? It wasn't supposed to when they
- 1:54:05died. The only one they saw.
- 1:54:06It was supposed to be dead a million years ago, which tells
- 1:54:08you my main thought was that. Was the shock last year you just
- 1:54:11heard Paul. No, it wasn't.
- 1:54:13But my main theory is, and my conspiracy theory is if it wants
- 1:54:17to be seen, it will be seen. You can't find something that
- 1:54:21doesn't want to be seen. Either you find it and you see
- 1:54:24it and you don't live to tell about it, or you find it and you
- 1:54:27see it and you don't live to tell about it.
- 1:54:28There is no in between. Like I don't.
- 1:54:31First off, I'm not going to go looking for anything I don't
- 1:54:34want to look for. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:54:35Like big ass snakes. You can have that shit.
- 1:54:38I'm good. I believe you.
- 1:54:40I believe you. I know there's some big ass
- 1:54:42snakes out there because there's parts of the, you know, that we
- 1:54:46can't go to, for instance, the Floating forest.
- 1:54:50No, nobody's really even heard of that.
- 1:54:52I've done some deep research on YouTube and Google and shit like
- 1:54:56that at 3:00 in the morning, at 3:00 in the morning and
- 1:55:00basically what happened is it was a big ravine.
- 1:55:02It had 60 to 80 foot trees and. What happened over time is it
- 1:55:06kept raining. It's a rainforest, like the
- 1:55:09area. So basically that big bowl
- 1:55:12filled up with water. Over time, leaves fell, created
- 1:55:17Moss. Moss creates land.
- 1:55:20So now you have certain parts that are soft, like you can
- 1:55:24you'll fall through. But there are other parts that
- 1:55:26are actual, like solid ground that you can walk on.
- 1:55:29And they say it's one of the most dangerous places on Earth
- 1:55:31because you can think you're on solid ground one moment and just
- 1:55:34fall. Yeah.
- 1:55:36The next moment, maybe just just be gone, damn.
- 1:55:38Because it's like it's it's called the floating forest
- 1:55:41because it's literally in a forest that went underwater and
- 1:55:45you don't know what's landing, what's what's solid and what's
- 1:55:47not. And basically it's home to some
- 1:55:49of the biggest snakes in the world.
- 1:55:52And when they say that, it's because.
- 1:55:54They have no doubt and died. Yeah, they have no predators out
- 1:55:58there that the apex predator they have.
- 1:56:03No, they have unlimited with snakes, their environment is how
- 1:56:07they grow. So when you have nothing
- 1:56:09interfering with your environment, snakes keep growing
- 1:56:12to their death. So you have snakes to just keep
- 1:56:14growing? They found a 25 foot Anaconda
- 1:56:19and it wasn't the one they were looking for.
- 1:56:21Damn. So I was like, why the fuck are
- 1:56:25you out there in the first place?
- 1:56:27And there was a mosh pit. Like, first of all, that's some
- 1:56:30white people shit. Why are you?
- 1:56:31Out it is like, fuck that shit. I'm Tarzan, but I'm not going
- 1:56:34out there. But it was like a big, like, you
- 1:56:38know, the grass was laid down like this.
- 1:56:40Yeah, yeah. And it showed us something that
- 1:56:41just went through there, that fucking big around.
- 1:56:44Oh my God. And all you saw was the water
- 1:56:46moving and there's like, fuck, what was that?
- 1:56:48And I was like, cut this fucking camera off.
- 1:56:50Yeah, yeah, yeah. Run.
- 1:56:51Run. Hell no.
- 1:56:53But dude all. Right.
- 1:56:54I'll let you have this one. Okay.
- 1:56:56I thought you were gonna say aliens, and we're not allowing
- 1:56:58people to say aliens. No, definitely not aliens.
- 1:57:00Because if you think about it, if the Galaxy is still, if we're
- 1:57:02one Galaxy inside the solar system, the solar system is
- 1:57:05continuous. Yeah.
- 1:57:06What makes you think that? There's another Columbus Barry.
- 1:57:10There's a Barry Columbus. No, I mean, Christopher was the
- 1:57:13closest one. That dude's a Dick head.
- 1:57:16But I will say this. I will say this.
- 1:57:22My conspiracy theorist #2 is ain't no way in hell.
- 1:57:27We saw other planets like Earth. Ain't no way in hell if.
- 1:57:32Jupiter is light years away and it takes us fucking how many
- 1:57:35years to get out there? How the fuck do you know there's
- 1:57:37another planet that's just like Earth that's even further away.
- 1:57:40No way, no way possible. You would have to send that out
- 1:57:44hundreds of years ago just for it to reach where you said it
- 1:57:47was. You're just going off of
- 1:57:48speculation now, but if the solar system is continuously
- 1:57:53growing and there are other planets out there, obviously
- 1:57:56it's obvious. They're just stately fucking
- 1:57:58obvious there is another planet like Earth.
- 1:58:02Obviously. Yeah, I mean, at this point, if
- 1:58:04we've figured out that Moss and all that stuff girls land, then
- 1:58:07at some point we know something. Obviously it's just there's
- 1:58:11another planet out there. I mean, if you have the sun that
- 1:58:13has moons, and you have the moon that has moons and you have
- 1:58:16other, it's just so much intangible shit.
- 1:58:20That we can't physically figure out.
- 1:58:22And I just refuse. If we can't even figure out
- 1:58:24what's on earth, how the fuck we going to figure out what's up
- 1:58:26there? Another conspiracy theories?
- 1:58:28Why? The fuck?
- 1:58:29That was just one. It's lightning.
- 1:58:30No, sorry, sorry. From my understanding, NASA used
- 1:58:35to actually discover the ocean and for some odd reason.
- 1:58:38Yes, I have heard of that. They went to space, which tells
- 1:58:40me they saw something down there that they didn't want to fucking
- 1:58:43be around. So they're trying to get the
- 1:58:44fuck out of here and. That's why.
- 1:58:46That's why my conspiracy conspiracy theory is mermaids.
- 1:58:49Because. We know more about space than we
- 1:58:52do our ocean. Yeah, and we're 70% water.
- 1:58:55That shit's crazy. That's crazy.
- 1:58:57I don't believe that. I don't believe any.
- 1:58:58That's like when they went down there and tried to fucking when
- 1:59:01they saw a giant squid for the first time.
- 1:59:03Yeah, fucking thing was 40 foot big.
- 1:59:06Dude, I think that's where the real aliens are.
- 1:59:08I think octopus or aliens, Yeah, I don't get fucked when nobody.
- 1:59:11Says jellyfish. Jellyfish, everything, I think
- 1:59:14dude. And ostriches.
- 1:59:15That's a weird ass. Animal.
- 1:59:17Giraffes if you say and just stare at these things flamingos
- 1:59:20like. Why yo?
- 1:59:21Why? How long does it take a giraffe
- 1:59:23to throw up? I don't know, but that's.
- 1:59:25Not I googled it 40 something seconds and it doesn't actually
- 1:59:29throw up. It just regurgitates the food
- 1:59:31and swallows it again. Fucking weird.
- 1:59:33That is weird. Like weird.
- 1:59:34Why are there animals like that? That's weird.
- 1:59:37OK, I've done that before. Stop.
- 1:59:40OK. Next question, Next question,
- 1:59:42What's your favorite singer of all time, Eric Bellinger?
- 1:59:45OK, if you could switch lives with anyone for a day, who would
- 1:59:49it be and why? Eric Bellinger.
- 1:59:52Why? Because he is.
- 1:59:53Anything he touches is magic. OK, Eric Bellinger Slash Chris
- 1:59:57Brown. Eric Bellinger writes songs for
- 1:59:59Chris Brown. So.
- 2:00:00OK, OK, what's the most adventurous thing you've ever
- 2:00:04done? PG13 I was.
- 2:00:10Literally about to go to the Richter Scale PG13.
- 2:00:15Wild and adventurous? No.
- 2:00:18All I said was most adventurous. Most adventurous.
- 2:00:20You had it wild. Stop selling your body.
- 2:00:23Our podcast is not that type of podcast.
- 2:00:28I went to Richmond, VA, and I climbed on a random abandoned
- 2:00:31building. Yeah.
- 2:00:33There naked. O Shay, Ouch.
- 2:00:37No, it wasn't. It wasn't bad.
- 2:00:38I got on top of the building, then got naked.
- 2:00:39It was raining, OK, but it was an abandoned building that's
- 2:00:42been abandoned for like it was in the middle of the fucking.
- 2:00:44I don't know. It's fucking creepy.
- 2:00:45You have big ass. It looks like it was a dam at
- 2:00:49some point because it had probably big ass circles in the
- 2:00:53middle of the ground like this. It was about the size of this
- 2:00:55room and there was levers to where you can pull them and open
- 2:00:58it. So it had to be a dam to where
- 2:01:00it was circulating water at some point, but it was abandoned and
- 2:01:04it was all rusty. It was fucking crazy looking at
- 2:01:06that stuff. Like if somebody were to go out
- 2:01:08there with some cameras, somebody probably already did.
- 2:01:10But it would, it would take and it had big ass walls that you
- 2:01:13can walk on then you can get to it.
- 2:01:14So it was definitely a dam, but it was, it was fucking crazy to
- 2:01:17see a inactive dam and just to think like if you fall like down
- 2:01:21there was like 60 or 70 foot. You cannot get out.
- 2:01:23Oh shit. That'd be not the little hole.
- 2:01:26It was six of those holes inside that whole building.
- 2:01:28So it was big, but if you fall down into there.
- 2:01:31Yeah. Lord knows there's probably no
- 2:01:33way you can get out. Yeah, and nobody would hear you.
- 2:01:36Just random random times where people come out there and do
- 2:01:39shit. Yeah, so like I was out there
- 2:01:41for like 3 1/2 hours and did not see a single soul.
- 2:01:44Oh shit. Yeah, so I was like I had to be
- 2:01:46very careful because like it had big ass graded place, like
- 2:01:49graded plates on the ground and I can literally fall through.
- 2:01:52It was crazy. I won't ask you why you got
- 2:01:54naked. What was the most embarrassing?
- 2:01:56What was the most embarrassing? Hairstyle you've ever had?
- 2:02:00Hairstyle. Yeah.
- 2:02:02When I first started my dreadlocks, yeah.
- 2:02:04How long was? It like fucking this big.
- 2:02:08I look like little centipedes on my head.
- 2:02:11Everybody told me when I first got him Cut this shit.
- 2:02:14Cut it. Cut it.
- 2:02:15No, you're gonna be ugly with dreads.
- 2:02:17Now every single one of them wanna play with my hair had a
- 2:02:20circle of life. Lion King was correct.
- 2:02:24So this is the last question. If you had to pick three songs
- 2:02:28for your entire life or for your Life anthem, what would they be
- 2:02:32and why? Matter which artist?
- 2:02:35It doesn't matter. Just three songs.
- 2:02:39On my way, Eric Bellinger. Don't take your love away,
- 2:02:45Avant. And let me see, I got Thing
- 2:02:49Real. Hard.
- 2:02:50Can I look at my Yeah, go for it.
- 2:02:52Playlist. Hold on, I might rearrange that.
- 2:02:54It's easy. He knows what that means.
- 2:02:56But, and I will say, God send me Angel, my song turn to that for
- 2:03:16later. OK.
- 2:03:17So again, thank you. We've had the great opportunity
- 2:03:21to hear from you. Know, your life story, your
- 2:03:24passions, your entrance. So tell us and our listeners,
- 2:03:27how can everyone find you and support you?
