- 1:00Speaker 3: Even in some of your darkest moments, when you make mistakes,
- 1:05Speaker 3: you have got to stick around for the two things
- 1:07Speaker 3: that the mistake is made for. Every failure is made for,
- 1:12Speaker 3: every misstep is made for it is made for a
- 1:16Speaker 3: lesson and a blessing them. Two things follow every single
- 1:20Speaker 3: one of them, every single time. God, don't send down
- 1:24Speaker 3: rain without a return. When you send down rain, flowers grow.
- 1:31Speaker 4: My graduates from my school being forced bad drop, bad
- 1:36Speaker 4: drop or Mike drop bad drop.

- 1:59Speaker 5: Came at the alright, Anthony grade, the highest level for performance,
- 2:04Speaker 5: Michael Jordan, the highest level of entertainment in the World's
- 2:11Speaker 5: the mecca for us to come to the to the mecca.
- 2:15Speaker 5: But we're not entertaining. We're not, you know, dancing, we're
- 2:18Speaker 5: not singing. We're teaching financial literacy. But it's a vibe.
- 2:23Speaker 7: Me.
- 2:27Speaker 2: We started in Houston and then can I get a
- 2:29Speaker 2: heap you?
- 2:31Speaker 6: We did the Apollo. We've been for Apollo. What's the
- 2:36Speaker 6: pinnacle of performance? For Sammons g this is hands down
- 2:42Speaker 6: going to be my best show.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I know it's a heavy ass to tell people to
- 2:50Speaker 3: come to New York, so I wanted to make it
- 2:52Speaker 3: the best show that they've been to in the last
- 2:53Speaker 3: five years.
- 2:54Speaker 6: The banners will be hung. Banners will be hung in
- 3:01Speaker 6: New York.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Yes, thank y'all.
- 3:10Speaker 6: Thank y'all. Y'all don't all.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Make some noise, make some noise, all right, yes.
- 3:17Speaker 6: Because y'all don't clap no more.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Because everybody got a camera, so y'all don't do no
- 3:24Speaker 3: damn clapping no more.
- 3:28Speaker 6: I don't appreciate that.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 3:39Speaker 6: You know I'm from that.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I'm from that old generation where you know, you didn't
- 3:44Speaker 3: have no phone cameras you came out of everybody clapped
- 3:47Speaker 3: for you.
- 3:47Speaker 6: I didn't feel none of that just now. But I'm
- 3:52Speaker 6: good though. Thank y'all, Thank you very much.
- 3:56Speaker 5: So this is gonna be a fir. First of all,
- 4:00Speaker 5: you see this room. You've performed in front of thousands
- 4:04Speaker 5: of people before. But you've seen arenas pack for sports.
- 4:09Speaker 5: You've seen arenas pack for comedy shows. You've seen arenas
- 4:12Speaker 5: packed to see celebrities talk about that movie. Have you
- 4:17Speaker 5: ever seen something like this for financial litters?
- 4:20Speaker 6: Well, I'm gonna be honest with you. I didn't know.
- 4:27Speaker 3: That we would ever get to this. You know, I
- 4:29Speaker 3: had hoped. You know, we'll pay a lot of money
- 4:32Speaker 3: for entertainment. We will pay top dollar to see our
- 4:35Speaker 3: favorite artists. But when it comes to invest it in yourself.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Back in the day, it just didn't happen like this.
- 4:43Speaker 3: This is an amazing thing to see twelve thousand people,
- 4:49Speaker 3: you know, who are trying to invest in themselves. And
- 4:53Speaker 3: the other impressive thing about it is so many young people.
- 4:56Speaker 6: You know, it's a lot of young people.
- 4:58Speaker 3: In here, man, And that's that's a great testament answer
- 5:02Speaker 3: where we're headed as a people. And what you two
- 5:05Speaker 3: brothers have accomplished in a very very short period of time.
- 5:09Speaker 3: You feel the void that was so needed, that was
- 5:12Speaker 3: such a thirst for what you had, because young people
- 5:15Speaker 3: need information. They need information, man, and that's what you
- 5:20Speaker 3: all have managed to do.
- 5:22Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 5:23Speaker 5: So we about to have a powerful conversation.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Ernie Leisure is supported by First Republic Bank. You've worked
- 5:29Speaker 2: hard and now it's paying off. That's why it's time

- 6:06Speaker 5: So I want to start this conversation off with the
- 6:11Speaker 5: power of partnerships, the power of collaboration, and what better
- 6:15Speaker 5: way to start it than us, And first and foremost,
- 6:19Speaker 5: I want to thank you because when we met you,
- 6:23Speaker 5: it was a crazy connection that we had right away.
- 6:25Speaker 5: We spent two hours talking before the podcast, two and
- 6:30Speaker 5: a half hours during the podcast, an hour after the podcast,
- 6:34Speaker 5: so we spent like the whole day with him. And
- 6:37Speaker 5: at the end he was like, you know, I really
- 6:39Speaker 5: like you guys a lot, and we're gonna make a
- 6:40Speaker 5: lot of money together. And you know, I told Troy
- 6:43Speaker 5: that our lives would never be the same after that,
- 6:46Speaker 5: and I just had that feeling. And it only took
- 6:49Speaker 5: a couple of months for you to honor your word
- 6:51Speaker 5: and to actually work with us. And this is the
- 6:53Speaker 5: first joint venture, hopefully of many more to come that
- 6:56Speaker 5: we've done. So I tell that story because it's important
- 7:07Speaker 5: to the power of collaboration, the power of seeing value
- 7:11Speaker 5: in something, the power and partnerships and the power of
- 7:14Speaker 5: understanding of working together. That's something that we have to
- 7:17Speaker 5: do more on every level, on a high level, on
- 7:20Speaker 5: a small level. Wherever you're at, You're only going to
- 7:22Speaker 5: go so far by yourself. So let me ask you this,
- 7:25Speaker 5: what made you want to work with us? What made you?
- 7:28Speaker 5: What did you see in us? And why did you
- 7:30Speaker 5: think that the you know, the value of collaborative efforts
- 7:34Speaker 5: are important.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Well, First of all, this generation of young people probably
- 7:41Speaker 3: our brightest collection of minds to come along since I've
- 7:46Speaker 3: been alive. Now I'm older than most people in here.
- 7:51Speaker 3: You know, I'm sixty five, so I know, I know
- 7:55Speaker 3: it's I know you can't believe it because the pimp
- 8:01Speaker 3: just drips all the time. But you young people are
- 8:11Speaker 3: the brightest generation to come along in my lifetime. If
- 8:16Speaker 3: I don't invest in you, if I don't see you
- 8:19Speaker 3: too and be able to see something in you and invest,
- 8:25Speaker 3: I'm doing a discredit to the future of us, especially
- 8:29Speaker 3: people of color. It is important, man, that we take
- 8:34Speaker 3: the time out to recognize the young people who are
- 8:36Speaker 3: gifted and willing to put into work.
- 8:38Speaker 6: But then there's a I gotta give credit to YouTube too.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Because as smart as you are, as this younger generation,
- 8:46Speaker 3: please don't discredit old people because old people have something. Man,
- 8:53Speaker 3: old people paid to get to a spot that you're
- 8:56Speaker 3: trying to get to.
- 8:58Speaker 6: See.
- 8:58Speaker 3: You gotta remember something about old. Old is the gold.
- 9:01Speaker 3: So why are you sitting up there and yo, and
- 9:03Speaker 3: the people may not be as tech savvy as you,
- 9:06Speaker 3: they still have something to bring to the table. And
- 9:10Speaker 3: I think they're joining together with young forces and then
- 9:13Speaker 3: putting the old head in the mix. I mean, look,
- 9:17Speaker 3: this is not just causing me. You know, this is
- 9:21Speaker 3: a collective effort of you and your team. But last
- 9:24Speaker 3: year was thirty five hundred people. This year you got
- 9:28Speaker 3: twelve thousand.
- 9:30Speaker 6: You understand them numbers, man, Yeah, I think.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I mean, obviously you're a generational talent. I knew you
- 9:39Speaker 2: from doing the Apollo. My son knows you, and my
- 9:42Speaker 2: daughter knows you from watching a family feud, and so
- 9:44Speaker 2: you've had trials and stipulations, but you've had success. When
- 9:47Speaker 2: we look at this, obviously we had forty five hundred
- 9:49Speaker 2: people last year, we got twelve thousand this year. People
- 9:52Speaker 2: would see this like, obviously this is successful from your viewpoint,
- 9:56Speaker 2: from your illusturious career. What's the key to success though?
- 10:00Speaker 2: How do we get it? How do we maintain it?
- 10:01Speaker 2: How we sustain it? Well, here's what happens.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Because of Instagram now and social media. You see these
- 10:11Speaker 3: highlight reels of each other, and you see a person
- 10:15Speaker 3: showing their best bag, they best shoe, they best polls,
- 10:20Speaker 3: and it's usually on the best filter. What I wish
- 10:29Speaker 3: the younger generation would pick up is the work ethic
- 10:33Speaker 3: that actually has to happen. See, the key to being
- 10:36Speaker 3: successful is planting. You've got to plant now. When you
- 10:41Speaker 3: plant seeds, young people, you can't expect the harvest in
- 10:46Speaker 3: thirty days. The harvest don't come in thirty days. You
- 10:50Speaker 3: got to plant your seed and sometimes the harvest don't
- 10:54Speaker 3: come for years. Everything is not instant. So here's what
- 10:59Speaker 3: I do. I get a roll and I drop seeds
- 11:03Speaker 3: in the ground. Then I go back and I cover
- 11:05Speaker 3: them up with dirt, because the dirt you need the dirt.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Then once I cover it up, I dig another row
- 11:12Speaker 3: and I plant some more seeds. I got about ten
- 11:15Speaker 3: rows planting. I look back at the first row and
- 11:18Speaker 3: it's starting to sprout. Some stuff starting to come out
- 11:21Speaker 3: the ground. I don't go back to that first rope
- 11:25Speaker 3: and just start eating because it ain't.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Really bearing no fruit right now.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You can't eat the stalks and the leaves. You gotta
- 11:31Speaker 3: wait till it bear fruit. In the meantime, you got
- 11:35Speaker 3: to keep planting. Now you're gonna look up in about
- 11:39Speaker 3: five years. You gonna look back in something you plant
- 11:42Speaker 3: it five years ago, gonna have a lot of fruit
- 11:45Speaker 3: on it. Then you can go back and start partaking
- 11:48Speaker 3: up that fruit. But the reason you gotta keep planting
- 11:51Speaker 3: is because sometimes you're gonna get rained out.
- 11:55Speaker 6: Sometimes it's gonna be a drought.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Sometimes, man, the pesticides slash haters is gonna do what
- 12:05Speaker 3: they do to your planet crops. Now you got to
- 12:10Speaker 3: mentally be prepared for that. But the planting process can
- 12:14Speaker 3: never stop. If I could tell anybody anything, keep planting
- 12:19Speaker 3: seeds and never stop planning because you have no idea
- 12:24Speaker 3: when God gonna drop all the necessary rain.
- 12:26Speaker 6: That you look up and everything you need is right there.
- 12:33Speaker 5: So let me ask you this, because I feel like
- 12:38Speaker 5: there's a lesson in every story, and there's something that
- 12:42Speaker 5: you can take from every story and learn from every story.
- 12:46Speaker 5: And sometimes what we think is reality isn't reality. And
- 12:51Speaker 5: it's important for people to know the truth. And it's
- 12:53Speaker 5: important for people to learn from other people's experiences because
- 12:57Speaker 5: they could potentially happen to you. Years ago, we had
- 13:01Speaker 5: a former president, Donald Trump, and it was very controversial
- 13:05Speaker 5: when you took a picture with him, and you got
- 13:09Speaker 5: a lot of backlash, a lot of hate, all kinds
- 13:12Speaker 5: of negative energy. But when we met you, you explained
- 13:16Speaker 5: to us the story. And when you explained to us
- 13:19Speaker 5: the story, it was so crazy because it just goes
- 13:22Speaker 5: to show you how something can be changed and the
- 13:24Speaker 5: narrative can be painted, and people just run with half
- 13:28Speaker 5: of what they see and they don't even understand it.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Can you explain that infamous moment?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well, first of all, if I listened to my wife,
- 13:39Speaker 3: it wouldn't have been no infamous moment.
- 13:41Speaker 2: First lesson, that's the first lesson number one.
- 13:48Speaker 6: But here's what happened. Before he got sworn in.
- 13:52Speaker 3: He had a point at being Carson to the head
- 13:56Speaker 3: of hood, and hood is housing and urban development. It's
- 14:02Speaker 3: the only black on the cabinet. So I said, let
- 14:06Speaker 3: me go up there and meet Ben Carson. So when
- 14:09Speaker 3: I got to Trump Towers, I went in, sat down
- 14:14Speaker 3: to meet with him, and he said, why are you here.
- 14:16Speaker 6: I said, I want.
- 14:17Speaker 3: To meet Ben Carson because I have an idea. He
- 14:21Speaker 3: got Ben Carson on the farm being Ben Carson talked
- 14:24Speaker 3: right away. I told him the idea I had. I
- 14:27Speaker 3: wanted to take some of these schools that they had
- 14:30Speaker 3: destroyed and shut down in black neighborhoods, and I wanted
- 14:33Speaker 3: to take them and turn them into what I call
- 14:36Speaker 3: vision centers, where we would create financial literacy after school programs,
- 14:43Speaker 3: you know, and get these young cats off the streets
- 14:45Speaker 3: so they have something to do, and then give the
- 14:48Speaker 3: parents some financial literacy. He fell in love with the idea.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I leave the building. I'm on the elevator. Donald Trump said,
- 14:57Speaker 3: I'll ride down with you. I said, I beat damn.
- 15:04Speaker 3: So he gets on the elevator. He riding down with him. Now,
- 15:07Speaker 3: before I got on elevator, I told the reporters I'll
- 15:10Speaker 3: be back over and tell you why I'm here. I
- 15:13Speaker 3: walk up to the reporters. He walks in front of me.
- 15:16Speaker 3: He the president to be right, So he walks in.
- 15:19Speaker 6: Front of me. Now I'm standing there.
- 15:20Speaker 3: First word out his mouth was we gonna repeal and replace. Obamacare.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I didn't say shit about that. I didn't mention none
- 15:31Speaker 3: of that. Again, Oh what you're talking about, man? You
- 15:34Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. I'm sitting here going I'll beat
- 15:36Speaker 3: damn and all I heard was my wife going, don't.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Go up there yet.
- 15:42Speaker 3: So when he left, I stood up and told the
- 15:45Speaker 3: reporters what the deal was.
- 15:48Speaker 6: By the time I got to my car, because this.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Happened on my sixtieth birthday, was that weekend, my wife
- 15:55Speaker 3: had a nice trip for me. All I had to
- 15:57Speaker 3: do was go get on that damn boat, like she said,
- 16:00Speaker 3: That's all my ass had to do. But oh knew
- 16:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna go up here for black people before I
- 16:08Speaker 3: got in the car. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't
- 16:15Speaker 3: believe it.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Man.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I was a coon, I was a jigaboo, I was
- 16:21Speaker 3: a spook. I was an Uncle Tom. And that shit
- 16:25Speaker 3: hurt me to the core because all I do when
- 16:30Speaker 3: I wake up is walk out the door as a
- 16:32Speaker 3: black man, to represent the black culture, to be something
- 16:37Speaker 3: that some young person can look at and go, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 3: I do it that way. My whole hustling grind has
- 16:43Speaker 3: been for black people, and so it kind of hurt me, man,
- 16:47Speaker 3: and so.
- 16:48Speaker 6: His fast forward.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Turns out the Vision Centers was the only initiative Ben
- 16:55Speaker 3: Carson had his entire run. They changed the name of
- 17:00Speaker 3: it from Vision Centers to Vision Centers. You can go
- 17:05Speaker 3: online look them up. They opened up three of them.
- 17:09Speaker 3: All the ideas I had given them they enabled it.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Then they asked me to come take a picture with
- 17:15Speaker 3: being Carson in front of the schools, and I said nah,
- 17:19Speaker 3: because y'all had ate my ass up so bad before,
- 17:23Speaker 3: y'all ain't getting no more pictures of me.
- 17:25Speaker 6: My family got attacked and all this here.
- 17:29Speaker 3: But that was a hurtful moment for me because I
- 17:34Speaker 3: went up there to get housing and benefit for black
- 17:37Speaker 3: people and then they turned on me like that, you know,
- 17:40Speaker 3: But I always know how to hang in there.
- 17:43Speaker 6: You know.
- 17:43Speaker 3: It's kind of like, I know, it's a lot of
- 17:45Speaker 3: hip hopcasts in here, but old school music still registers
- 17:49Speaker 3: very deep.
- 17:50Speaker 6: In my soul. I'm an R and B guy.
- 17:52Speaker 3: So there's a song that Temptations had out, and I
- 17:55Speaker 3: had to sing it to myself. I know you won't
- 17:58Speaker 3: to leave me, but I refuse to let you go
- 18:03Speaker 3: if I have to beg and plead for your sympathy.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I don't mind, because you mean that much to me.
- 18:09Speaker 3: So I just hung in there with black people. I
- 18:12Speaker 3: just stayed in there with y'all, say asked, because I
- 18:14Speaker 3: knew eventually y'all was gonna have to get all right.
- 18:19Speaker 6: Well, some of y'all didn't. It's cool, though, But.
- 18:23Speaker 5: I want to ask you about that because when you
- 18:25Speaker 5: reach levels of success, especially now, you're going to get
- 18:29Speaker 5: some level of hate online. You're gonna get some level
- 18:32Speaker 5: of hate on YouTube, You're gonna get critics, and it
- 18:36Speaker 5: has it has an effect on your on your psyche.
- 18:40Speaker 5: So how would you how would you coach people through?
- 18:43Speaker 5: What advice would you give to the young people that
- 18:46Speaker 5: haven't experienced that yet. But they might be in sports,
- 18:49Speaker 5: they might be in music, they might be entrepreneurs, they
- 18:51Speaker 5: might be online. At some point when that comes, what
- 18:55Speaker 5: do you do to just keep going.
- 18:56Speaker 3: It's interesting because I was talking the Walk of Flock
- 19:00Speaker 3: backstage and he came up to me and said, hey, man,
- 19:04Speaker 3: you don't know what you mean to me. I've never
- 19:07Speaker 3: met the brother before, and he was saying, you don't
- 19:10Speaker 3: know what you mean to me.
- 19:11Speaker 6: He said, Man, I follow you. I listened to you. Man.
- 19:14Speaker 3: He said, man, you changed from just a comedian to
- 19:17Speaker 3: a real man, and you made me start looking at
- 19:20Speaker 3: some things I want to do.
- 19:21Speaker 6: And then we shook hands.
- 19:22Speaker 3: He was fitting to walk away, and he turned around
- 19:24Speaker 3: and he said, you know what else I like about you? Man?
- 19:27Speaker 3: You ain't vengeful. You're not vengeful. And that kind of
- 19:33Speaker 3: stuck with me, so I said, how you mean? He said, man,
- 19:35Speaker 3: you could come back at so many people, but I'll
- 19:38Speaker 3: never see you going out to attack people because I
- 19:42Speaker 3: learned a long time ago from a minister. He said,
- 19:46Speaker 3: stay on the wall. When they throwing rocks at you,
- 19:50Speaker 3: stay on the wall. If you come down off the
- 19:53Speaker 3: wall to address haters and small people, see they our
- 19:58Speaker 3: level with you.
- 19:58Speaker 6: Now.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Now they can throw the rocks and they hurt, But
- 20:02Speaker 3: if you just stay on the wall, what can they do.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And you gotta understand some young people about haters. Haters
- 20:08Speaker 3: are not decision makers, power brokers, or shakers and movers.
- 20:12Speaker 3: They have no determining factor on your life, where you
- 20:16Speaker 3: headed or what God planned for you. Stop giving haters power.
- 20:22Speaker 6: Stop it.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Don't even talk to they ass I don't give it. Look, man,
- 20:25Speaker 3: I'm sixty five. I don't give a damn what you
- 20:28Speaker 3: say about me, You ain't. You're not stopping nothing. Look
- 20:33Speaker 3: what God has for you, It is yours. All God's
- 20:39Speaker 3: plans for you, his purpose. If you just open up
- 20:42Speaker 3: yourself to it, he gonna make all of them come true.
- 20:45Speaker 3: But if you stop and keep addressing haters, you will
- 20:49Speaker 3: never be open to your purpose and your mission in life.
- 20:53Speaker 3: So my directive is to stay on the wall when
- 20:57Speaker 3: they attack.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Me for whatever.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I stay on the wall because they do it all
- 21:01Speaker 3: the time, man, especially people.
- 21:03Speaker 6: I thought I was cool with other celebrities.
- 21:06Speaker 3: You know, they got little stuff to say, But then
- 21:08Speaker 3: I look at their career.
- 21:10Speaker 6: And they have time to say little stuff. They have time.
- 21:15Speaker 3: See me, let me tell you something, man. People is busy.
- 21:20Speaker 3: They ain't got time. Denzel ain't got time talk about me,
- 21:25Speaker 3: Matgic Johnson ain't got time talking about Tyler Perry. Ain't
- 21:28Speaker 3: got time talk about me because they building their empire.
- 21:33Speaker 6: Man. Let me tell you something, man.
- 21:34Speaker 3: One time I was fit to respond to something on
- 21:36Speaker 3: the blog, Tyler Perry called me and said, hey, man,
- 21:40Speaker 3: what you getting ready to do? I said, I'm going
- 21:42Speaker 3: on CNN with a This and Cooper and I'm straightened
- 21:46Speaker 3: this whole thing out in them blogs. He said, no,
- 21:49Speaker 3: you're not. He said, you know why, He said, listen
- 21:52Speaker 3: to me, Steve. When they talk about you, it's a blog.
- 21:56Speaker 3: If you open your mouth, it's a press. Confidence.
- 22:00Speaker 6: You got to know who you are.
- 22:02Speaker 3: So I say to all people out there, know who
- 22:05Speaker 3: you are and know where God taking you.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Get up on the wall and stay there. That's powerful.
- 22:14Speaker 2: So, speaking of staying on the wall, another one of
- 22:18Speaker 2: those stories about changing something that could be seen as
- 22:22Speaker 2: a negative in your career that actually turned to something
- 22:24Speaker 2: incredibly positive.
- 22:25Speaker 6: Twenty fifteen Miss.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Universe, Right, this just won't ever go away, So you
- 22:35Speaker 3: share with us the story behind it.
- 22:37Speaker 6: Obviously the mishappened.
- 22:38Speaker 2: You know, you read Miss Columbia, and you know we
- 22:41Speaker 2: know that part of it, but there was another side
- 22:43Speaker 2: to it.
- 22:43Speaker 6: How that affects your career in a positive way? Can
- 22:45Speaker 6: you talk about that? Erniest checked this out.

- 23:45Speaker 6: Now. Yeah, see.
- 23:49Speaker 3: It was crazy because I'm a really, really bright person.
- 23:53Speaker 6: I really am. I've been on TV a long time.
- 23:56Speaker 6: I'm going how to read.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Matter of fact, I read very well, and better than reading,
- 24:02Speaker 3: I listened extremely well. The teleprompter said, and the new
- 24:10Speaker 3: two thy fifteen Miss.
- 24:12Speaker 6: Universe is now.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I got an IFB in my ear, I got two
- 24:18Speaker 3: names on the car I got a third name. The
- 24:21Speaker 3: lady used to work for the pageant when Donald Trump
- 24:24Speaker 3: owned it, decided she didn't want to do it like that.
- 24:27Speaker 6: That night, she.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Put the third name on the corner of the car well.
- 24:31Speaker 3: They handed me the card. My thumb covered a third name,
- 24:34Speaker 3: but which is irrelevant anyway, because the teleprompter said, and
- 24:39Speaker 3: the new twenty and fifteen Miss Universe is the IBF
- 24:43Speaker 3: director said, read the second name on the card.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Steve.
- 24:46Speaker 7: Okay, fuck miss Columbia, Miss Columbia, great job, Steve, going
- 24:57Speaker 7: the back.
- 24:58Speaker 6: I go in the back.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I'm in the back for two minutes. My boy that
- 25:02Speaker 3: worked for me stage managine. He said, Yo, dog, you
- 25:07Speaker 3: said the wrong name. I said, I ain't said shit wrong. Fuck,
- 25:12Speaker 3: I say the wrong name.
- 25:14Speaker 6: Fuck.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I read the name on the card, and I did
- 25:16Speaker 3: what the director told me to do, he said, Man.
- 25:20Speaker 3: So I got up and I started walking back out front.
- 25:22Speaker 3: The director said, what are you doing? I said, I'm
- 25:25Speaker 3: gonna go out here and give it to the right one.
- 25:27Speaker 3: He said, don't worry about it with straighten it out
- 25:30Speaker 3: tomorrow in the paper.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Well that's that ain't right.
- 25:35Speaker 3: So I took my dumb ass out there and said
- 25:41Speaker 3: I made a mistake when in actuality, the lady that
- 25:46Speaker 3: printed the card should have never put a third name
- 25:49Speaker 3: on the card because that's not how we rehearsed it.
- 25:51Speaker 3: And the teleprompter should have never said what he said,
- 25:54Speaker 3: and the director should have.
- 25:56Speaker 6: Never told me what he told me. But I took
- 25:58Speaker 6: the whole bullet.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Now, behind every moment of adversity in your life is
- 26:05Speaker 3: two things. Behind that, there is a lesson and there
- 26:09Speaker 3: is a blessing. You got to wait to get both
- 26:14Speaker 3: of those. But if you let the moment of adversity
- 26:18Speaker 3: define you and destroy you and make you crumble, you
- 26:22Speaker 3: never are available for the lesson or the blessing. So
- 26:27Speaker 3: the next week, I've been in the house for a
- 26:29Speaker 3: week and my wife will tell you we have twenty
- 26:32Speaker 3: four hour armed girl guards at our house year round,
- 26:38Speaker 3: every since twenty fifteen, because them Colombian's man, oh they
- 26:43Speaker 3: was coming for me? They asked, was serious? The death
- 26:47Speaker 3: threats was real? Them damn Colombians. Man shit, I quit
- 26:51Speaker 3: drinking Colombian coffee.
- 26:55Speaker 6: He had my ass concerned.
- 27:00Speaker 3: So even to this day, we're in twenty twenty two,
- 27:04Speaker 3: I still have full time armed security around my homes
- 27:09Speaker 3: because they threatened my family.
- 27:11Speaker 6: Now you can't threaten my family. Dog. You could threaten me,
- 27:15Speaker 6: but you can't come for them.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I'm not that dude. I try to be a Christian,
- 27:19Speaker 3: but I just I ain't there yet. I'm an entry
- 27:22Speaker 3: level Christian. I don't really know how to do advance Christianity.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I don't think I'm ever gonna be good at advanced
- 27:30Speaker 3: Christianity because if you slap me, I'm not turning the
- 27:34Speaker 3: other cheek. I just need to let your asks know
- 27:36Speaker 3: that now. And if you cuss me, I'm finna cuss you.
- 27:41Speaker 3: That's how this is working. But you need Christians like me.
- 27:49Speaker 3: You know that ain't all the way in. You need
- 27:51Speaker 3: a Christian that are backhand your ass, that are you know,
- 27:56Speaker 3: bust your time, So.
- 28:02Speaker 6: I would.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I wouldn't address it until I was able to have
- 28:06Speaker 3: Miss Columbia come on my talk show, and that was
- 28:09Speaker 3: the only time I dressed it, and she couldn't come
- 28:11Speaker 3: until February, but then the Super Bowl came about.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Now let me give you one another story.
- 28:19Speaker 3: After I made the announcement the wrong name, I had
- 28:23Speaker 3: been praying to God to increase my global brand in
- 28:26Speaker 3: persona right. I wanted God to make me more globally famous,
- 28:29Speaker 3: because I saw myself becoming a global business man after
- 28:33Speaker 3: the Miss Universe fiasco. Within forty eight hours, my name
- 28:38Speaker 3: had been googled four billion times. I was the most
- 28:43Speaker 3: google subject in the world for forty eight hours. God
- 28:48Speaker 3: had increased my global brand and persona, and I showed
- 28:54Speaker 3: it and appreciate the way he did it either. I
- 28:56Speaker 3: thought that was pretty funky. Lord just thought I'd say that.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Didn't really appreciate that. But after that we started getting
- 29:06Speaker 3: letters from other countries inviting me and my wife to
- 29:12Speaker 3: vacation homes. They gave us thirteen villas all around the world.
- 29:18Speaker 6: We can come vacation anytime. We won't.
- 29:21Speaker 3: And then T Mobile came along and said we'd like
- 29:24Speaker 3: to take your mistake and turn it into good And
- 29:27Speaker 3: I said how so they said, we want you to
- 29:29Speaker 3: do a T Mobile commercial. I said, well, that's interesting.
- 29:33Speaker 3: How much does that pay? So I did the T
- 29:39Speaker 3: Mobile commercial. I don't give a damn if we do
- 29:47Speaker 3: a whole reenactment of that night.
- 29:50Speaker 6: The money they paid me so young people.
- 29:54Speaker 3: The lesson I learned from that was, even in some
- 29:59Speaker 3: of your darkest moments, when you make mistakes, you have
- 30:03Speaker 3: got to stick around for the two things that the
- 30:06Speaker 3: mistake is made for, every failure is made for, every
- 30:10Speaker 3: misstep is made for. It is made for a lesson
- 30:15Speaker 3: and a blessing. Them two things follow every single one
- 30:18Speaker 3: of them. Every single time. God don't send down rain
- 30:23Speaker 3: without a return. When he send down rain, flowers grow,
- 30:28Speaker 3: trees get bigger. You got to understand what the rain
- 30:32Speaker 3: and the dirt is for. People get so angry when
- 30:35Speaker 3: people start throwing dirt on you, Man, quit tripping.
- 30:39Speaker 6: Dirt is fertilizer.
- 30:42Speaker 3: If you ever want to be something, you're gonna have
- 30:44Speaker 3: to get some dirt on you. Because that dirt that
- 30:47Speaker 3: smothers you, it teaches you how to push through. You
- 30:51Speaker 3: ain't finna have no smooth life. You can get that
- 30:54Speaker 3: out your mind. It ain't fit to be rosy for you.
- 30:58Speaker 3: By defendity, just come up to you hand.
- 31:00Speaker 6: You know damn money. By here you feel like being
- 31:04Speaker 6: a millionaire. Here.
- 31:06Speaker 3: You got to strike out to be successful. And when
- 31:08Speaker 3: you strike out, you got to get ready for it
- 31:10Speaker 3: to get real funky and real hard, because that's what's
- 31:14Speaker 3: gonna happen.
- 31:16Speaker 6: That's why it ain't for everybody.
- 31:17Speaker 3: But that's why all these people sitting in here are
- 31:20Speaker 3: so valuable. You've invested in learning some traits and I look,
- 31:26Speaker 3: I could tell you a lot of stuff, but there's
- 31:29Speaker 3: nothing more important than to mental. To master the mental
- 31:34Speaker 3: aspect of success. I don't give a damn what degree
- 31:38Speaker 3: you got. Degrees don't make money. People make money.
- 31:45Speaker 6: Degree.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Look Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg ain't got a degree
- 31:49Speaker 3: between the two of them, but they got more degrees
- 31:53Speaker 3: working for him. You saw that little dude came out
- 31:55Speaker 3: here thirty years old. He graduated magnum kun Lottie at mohow.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I ain't graduated from nothing. He had a full point Oh,
- 32:06Speaker 3: he said, miss Harvey, what was your grade point in school?
- 32:08Speaker 3: I said, I had a full point on. He said, wow,
- 32:10Speaker 3: you had a full point on high school. I said, yeah,
- 32:13Speaker 3: when you total all three years.
- 32:16Speaker 6: Shit. I was struggling, man.
- 32:20Speaker 3: But if you're in here and you're investing in yourself,
- 32:23Speaker 3: that's the beginning of it, because you've got to get
- 32:26Speaker 3: the mental together.
- 32:27Speaker 6: Man.
- 32:28Speaker 3: This thing that's going on inside your head is the
- 32:31Speaker 3: whole determining factor. Man, don't nothing else matter. So I
- 32:36Speaker 3: could tell you everything until you believe it. We wasting time.
- 32:41Speaker 3: If you don't believe yourself can be rich, why don't
- 32:44Speaker 3: you get them?
- 32:44Speaker 6: Go home.
- 32:46Speaker 3: If you don't believe you can have two houses, just
- 32:49Speaker 3: get upm and go home. If you don't believe that
- 32:52Speaker 3: you should have the life of your dreams, get up
- 32:55Speaker 3: and go home. If you don't think God is real,
- 32:58Speaker 3: get up and go home. Get you I give you
- 33:02Speaker 3: your money back?
- 33:04Speaker 6: How much was it.
- 33:07Speaker 3: We're gonna retract that statement because we're not giving no
- 33:11Speaker 3: damn money back. Let's just be clear about that. My
- 33:15Speaker 3: bad dog, I forgot I had invested. I'm sorry.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Retract that from the courts records, but also the lesson
- 33:27Speaker 5: and the blessing. From a business standpoint, it also helped
- 33:31Speaker 5: you get a better deal from this universe too.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Right, Well, see I can say it now because the
- 33:37Speaker 3: stocks are vetted. After the mishap, I said I didn't
- 33:42Speaker 3: want to do it no more because I was put
- 33:44Speaker 3: out on Front Street and they left me out there
- 33:46Speaker 3: to dry. Didn't nobody volunteer and say it was my fault,
- 33:50Speaker 3: tele prompted, didn't step forward to direct, the damn show,
- 33:53Speaker 3: didn't come forward. So I said, I ain't doing it.
- 33:56Speaker 3: So they said, well, suppose we play you double? I said,
- 33:59Speaker 3: I still ain't in it. They said, suppose we play
- 34:01Speaker 3: you triple. I said, I still ain't gonna do it.
- 34:04Speaker 3: He said, mister Harvey will pay you millions to come
- 34:07Speaker 3: back and do that. I said, I'm still not gonna
- 34:09Speaker 3: do it. They said, what do you want? I said, ownership?
- 34:18Speaker 3: So now our own miss universe, Miss USA, talk to us,
- 34:24Speaker 3: say let the church say, man talk better, praise him.
- 34:31Speaker 2: You better throw some water on somebody. H I said,
- 34:41Speaker 2: you gotta. We have a lot of entrepreneurs in here.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Put your hands up. If you have your own business
- 34:45Speaker 2: right now? Well a lot Look at this, my God,
- 34:48Speaker 2: A lot of entrepreneurs in him. A lot of times
- 34:50Speaker 2: people say, don't don't you know, don't start companies with
- 34:53Speaker 2: your family or your friends. And sometimes it can be beneficial,
- 34:56Speaker 2: but sometimes it can. You vested with one of your friends.
- 35:00Speaker 2: So can we talk about that experience? There was was
- 35:02Speaker 2: a late Tex company and the timing of it, obviously
- 35:05Speaker 2: investing with your fans, and what you learn from that
- 35:08Speaker 2: investment because obviously it didn't work.
- 35:10Speaker 6: Out, right, I'll let you tell a story.
- 35:11Speaker 2: But the lessons that I learned from going through something like.
- 35:14Speaker 5: That and how it changes you. Right, do you.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Well, the friend and I invested with he's passed now,
- 35:20Speaker 3: and I did it because we were friends. If it
- 35:25Speaker 3: had worked, it would have been more life changing for
- 35:28Speaker 3: him than for me, you know what I'm saying. And sometimes, man,
- 35:33Speaker 3: you do things when you get on the other side
- 35:36Speaker 3: of the money trail where you can start investing instead
- 35:40Speaker 3: of hustling for every dollar, You're going to make mistakes
- 35:43Speaker 3: in investing. You're going to make some major mistakes. Again,
- 35:50Speaker 3: had I listened to somebody that I sleep with, I
- 35:55Speaker 3: wouldn't have done this.
- 35:58Speaker 6: And one thing about my girl.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Man pretty much forewarned me about everything I've went on
- 36:02Speaker 3: and done anyway, But I felt good about the investment.
- 36:07Speaker 3: But the investment didn't pan out at all. And it
- 36:12Speaker 3: was a late tax glove plant that we bought down there,
- 36:16Speaker 3: you follow Alabama. I bought it and then we hired
- 36:21Speaker 3: the wrong people and they messed up the moles and
- 36:24Speaker 3: all this here, which was crazy because a few years later,
- 36:28Speaker 3: here come COVID and now as a shortage of late
- 36:31Speaker 3: tax gloves. Now I got the plant down here that's
- 36:35Speaker 3: supposed to be making late tax gloves. But we didn't
- 36:38Speaker 3: hide the wrong people and they broke all the moles
- 36:41Speaker 3: and it just never panned out. The thing I learned
- 36:46Speaker 3: from that the way I invest. Now, Look, I appreciate
- 36:52Speaker 3: you being my friend, I appreciate you.
- 36:56Speaker 6: Being my family. But I got to do my due diligence.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Now, I got a whole team of people that do research,
- 37:04Speaker 3: that study, that look at the analytics of it, and
- 37:07Speaker 3: do a lot of background check it. And then if
- 37:10Speaker 3: it's good, you know, I might I might have some
- 37:14Speaker 3: money to invest. Now, I'm not gonna give you no
- 37:16Speaker 3: life change in money, But like I try to tell
- 37:20Speaker 3: young people all the time, when you meet somebody that's successful,
- 37:24Speaker 3: quit asking for money.
- 37:26Speaker 6: Ask for information.
- 37:28Speaker 3: See if money is like me giving you a fish sandwich,
- 37:33Speaker 3: information is teaching you how to fish. There's a major
- 37:36Speaker 3: difference in that. And rich people used to people asking
- 37:40Speaker 3: them for money, so they got all kinds of ways
- 37:42Speaker 3: of playing your ass off. You know that time somebody come, well,
- 37:46Speaker 3: hey man, let me holler at you. What let me
- 37:49Speaker 3: holler at you?
- 37:50Speaker 6: You sound like a relative trying to borrow twenty Now
- 37:54Speaker 6: you got a business proposal.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Do your due diligence when investing, do some re search
- 38:01Speaker 3: and lose the most useless. I want you to lose
- 38:05Speaker 3: the most useless emotion ever created, and it's called guilt.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Stop feeling guilty, man. Guilt serves no person, no purpose
- 38:18Speaker 3: itself for the person that's trying to make you feel guilty,
- 38:22Speaker 3: and that's all to manipulate you so they can get
- 38:25Speaker 3: what they want. I've lost all my guilt. You can
- 38:28Speaker 3: think what you want to think about me. I don't
- 38:31Speaker 3: give a damn. I'm not guilty about nothing. Why am
- 38:35Speaker 3: I guilty? Because your ass is pope? I was pope
- 38:39Speaker 3: for thirty eight years. I got my first car in
- 38:42Speaker 3: my name when I was thirty eight. Now you said
- 38:46Speaker 3: them in here thirty ernest?
- 38:48Speaker 6: What's up? You ever walk into a small business.
- 38:50Speaker 2: And everything just works like the checkout is fast, or
- 38:54Speaker 2: seats of digital tipping is a breeze, and you're out
- 38:57Speaker 2: the door before the line even builds. Are they're using Square?
- 39:02Speaker 2: We love supporting businesses that run on Square because it
- 39:05Speaker 2: just feels seamless. Whether it's a local coffee shop, a
- 39:08Speaker 2: vendor at a pop up market, or even one of.

- 39:11Speaker 2: Square makes it easy for them to take payments, manage inventory,
- 39:15Speaker 2: and run their business with confidence, all from one simple system.

- 40:42Speaker 3: up about that.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Just help you and then quit walking up to people.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I had a young kid came up to me a
- 40:48Speaker 3: year ago. Hey, mister Harvey, you got fifteen minutes? Fifteen No,
- 40:54Speaker 3: I don't even know you though, I don't turn you
- 40:57Speaker 3: got to feteen minutes?
- 40:59Speaker 6: Got it? No? No, don't. Oh you don't want to
- 41:02Speaker 6: make twenty million dollars? Little boy? Do you have.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Twenty million dollars? No, sir, then why would you show
- 41:13Speaker 3: me how to get it? See if you come up
- 41:16Speaker 3: to me talking about Doe, I want twenty million dollars.
- 41:18Speaker 3: If I know how to make twenty million, the first
- 41:20Speaker 3: person I'm gonna make it for is me, and I'm
- 41:22Speaker 3: gonna probably make about thirteen of them for I tell
- 41:25Speaker 3: anybody how to do it. And he come up to
- 41:28Speaker 3: me talking about you don't want to make twenty twenty
- 41:30Speaker 3: million dollars?
- 41:31Speaker 6: Boy, this pining? This guy? You know I know how.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I tell my kids all the time, it take a
- 41:36Speaker 3: long time to make a lot of money. Get off
- 41:39Speaker 3: insta ground that car. You don't know how close that
- 41:43Speaker 3: car is to be and repolled.
- 41:45Speaker 6: Get off Instagram. That ain't even ay car.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Look in the background, gimm a street signs? Who parks
- 41:55Speaker 3: they car in front of street signs? Rich people got
- 41:59Speaker 3: y'all in courtyards and ain't nobody got their card on
- 42:03Speaker 3: the street taking a picture on the damn sidewalk. But
- 42:08Speaker 3: you see that and you get caught up in it, y'all.
- 42:11Speaker 3: It take a long time make a lot of money.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Look at everybody that's really got a lot of money.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Now if you want to use that one example of
- 42:18Speaker 3: Kanye got this, and Kanye got that, and.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Somebody got this and that.
- 42:23Speaker 3: That's some exceptions, but chances off you being that exception
- 42:30Speaker 3: is rare. Buckle up, knuckle down, get ready for the
- 42:35Speaker 3: grind and going to make your dreams come true and
- 42:39Speaker 3: enjoy the process.
- 42:44Speaker 5: So let me let me ask you this. The last
- 42:47Speaker 5: time we spoke, you couldn't really talk because the show
- 42:50Speaker 5: didn't come out yet, but you was very enthusiastic about
- 42:53Speaker 5: your Judge show, which is a hit. Congratulations that yeahang
- 43:00Speaker 5: last every day thing. But there's a business lesson behind
- 43:05Speaker 5: that as well, because you said that was the first
- 43:08Speaker 5: show where you have like complete ownership of and you
- 43:12Speaker 5: said that that was the one that's gonna take you
- 43:14Speaker 5: out of here. And it's crazy because it's like, you know,
- 43:16Speaker 5: you had all of these other shows and Steve Harvey Show,
- 43:20Speaker 5: but you never had ownership in that. So why was
- 43:22Speaker 5: it important for you to have ownership? And what's the
- 43:26Speaker 5: dynamics of the Judge Show as opposed to the other
- 43:29Speaker 5: shows that you had?
- 43:30Speaker 6: In the best see the Steve Harvey Show.
- 43:33Speaker 3: It was me and said entertainer Wendy Rakale and Terry
- 43:37Speaker 3: and Maryland Santana Will Scott.
- 43:40Speaker 6: This was a show that ABC had created. So I
- 43:42Speaker 6: came along. I was just coming out of homelessness. Man.
- 43:45Speaker 3: I was just, man, y'all gonna pay me? How much
- 43:49Speaker 3: my first TV show? They gave me seventy five thousand
- 43:51Speaker 3: dollars every Thursday, I'm signing. I'm I ain't got no money.
- 43:57Speaker 3: I'm signing could every time they pay I was crying.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I couldn't believe this man didn't know nothing about no business.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Then I got another show and I had I had
- 44:08Speaker 3: twelve percent, but it was after AMRG and all that,
- 44:12Speaker 3: and by the time they get through doing their math,
- 44:14Speaker 3: I never saw money on that Family Feud is my
- 44:17Speaker 3: biggest product, but it was owned by six families Denmar Freemantle,
- 44:26Speaker 3: so all I could do with Family Feud was make money.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I ain't complaining because I'm you know, I'm doing well.
- 44:34Speaker 3: But and then you look at Little Big Shots. I
- 44:38Speaker 3: add a third of that. But that's a whole nother story.
- 44:41Speaker 3: The way NBC tried to play me, they thought they
- 44:45Speaker 3: was gonna ruin my whole career by getting rid of
- 44:47Speaker 3: the Little Big Shots and Steve Harvey Talk show at
- 44:50Speaker 3: the same time. That's okay. They didn't know what God
- 44:53Speaker 3: was fit to do, so I let him go ahead
- 44:56Speaker 3: do that. Go ahead, said that's another You got to
- 45:00Speaker 3: learn when somebody closed the door in your face, stop
- 45:04Speaker 3: standing at the door beating on it. The reason the
- 45:07Speaker 3: door closes is because God wants you to walk up
- 45:10Speaker 3: the hall.
- 45:11Speaker 6: It's some more.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Does he got a bigger door, a better dough with
- 45:15Speaker 3: most stuff in it.
- 45:17Speaker 6: Stop beating on doors and go up the hall. So
- 45:20Speaker 6: that's neither there. You know there.
- 45:22Speaker 3: But when the Judge Show came up, I was out
- 45:25Speaker 3: at Tyler Perry Studios shooting a family feud on my
- 45:29Speaker 3: Facebook watch show, and ABC asked for a meeting and
- 45:34Speaker 3: they had thirteen thirteen executives on a zoom call, and
- 45:41Speaker 3: that's unheard of. I had the president of the network,
- 45:45Speaker 3: the head of comedy development, the head of writers, and
- 45:48Speaker 3: I had a dude on there from all these other departments,
- 45:52Speaker 3: and then the dude from business affairs was on the phone.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Wait a minute, that's the dude that cut the deal.
- 45:58Speaker 3: So I knew this was about business. So they pitched
- 46:01Speaker 3: me to do a sitcom on the ABC and they
- 46:05Speaker 3: went through this whole thirty minutes about pitching this sitcom
- 46:08Speaker 3: and when they got through, I said, I don't want
- 46:10Speaker 3: to do that, and they went, what, No, We're going
- 46:14Speaker 3: to greenlight the show, mister Harvey, and we want you
- 46:17Speaker 3: to start in it and we'll give you a full season.
- 46:20Speaker 6: I said, I don't want to do that. They said, why,
- 46:23Speaker 6: I don't want to work like that?
- 46:24Speaker 3: No more. And only sitcom I've enjoyed was when me
- 46:27Speaker 3: and said was on TV together. That was my best friend.
- 46:30Speaker 3: We made money and we enjoyed working together. Kings of
- 46:33Speaker 3: Comedy was at the same time, so we were just
- 46:36Speaker 3: we was clocking it back then and we was having fun.
- 46:40Speaker 6: So they said, well, what do you want to do.
- 46:43Speaker 3: I said, well, I've been thinking about this idea for
- 46:45Speaker 3: about twelve years, and they said, what is it? I said,
- 46:50Speaker 3: I want to be a judge on TV. Now, everybody
- 46:53Speaker 3: supposed to be on mute, right, but this white dude
- 46:57Speaker 3: he didn't put his zoom on. And when I said
- 47:01Speaker 3: I want to be a judge, he said, is this
- 47:04Speaker 3: guy even a fucking lawyer?
- 47:08Speaker 6: The fuck is he talking about? He's said the shit
- 47:11Speaker 6: on the zoom? I was bet.
- 47:13Speaker 3: I was bent over laugh the funniest shit I've ever heard.
- 47:17Speaker 3: I was knocking shit over laugh because that's a real,
- 47:21Speaker 3: real comment. Because he don't work with the company no more.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Because I was the only one thought it was funny,
- 47:31Speaker 3: the president of ABC went, I want to know who
- 47:34Speaker 3: said that? So she said, So we got to talking
- 47:41Speaker 3: about it, and then about an hour to the conversation,
- 47:47Speaker 3: the guy from Comedy Development says, well, what makes you
- 47:52Speaker 3: think you could be a judge on TV? I said, shit,
- 47:56Speaker 3: Donald Trump was president, y'all, let his ass be president.
- 48:03Speaker 3: How the hell I can't be a judge on TV?
- 48:06Speaker 3: They said, let us think about it. The next day
- 48:09Speaker 3: they called my lawyer brand and it said, we're green
- 48:12Speaker 3: lighting the show. We'll give him a full season right now.
- 48:16Speaker 3: I said, hold on, not so fast. I say, I
- 48:22Speaker 3: want to own the IP. I want to own advertising rights.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I want executive producer credits, I want hosting credits, and
- 48:33Speaker 3: I want my contract drawn up.
- 48:35Speaker 6: Every single time.
- 48:37Speaker 3: ABC get a check, I get the same check. I
- 48:42Speaker 3: don't want the other check. Well, Steve, you're gonna get
- 48:46Speaker 3: paid for hosting and executive producing, and you're gonna get
- 48:49Speaker 3: your IP check and created by I'm gonna get all that.
- 48:52Speaker 6: I got that.
- 48:53Speaker 3: But when y'all get that advertising dollars, whatever check you
- 48:58Speaker 3: cut to yourself, you got to cut that chance.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Same check to me. Well, Steve, that's fifty fifty.
- 49:06Speaker 3: I don't know how you want to look at it,
- 49:11Speaker 3: not really sure, but we're gonna put it on paper.
- 49:18Speaker 6: Do you know.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I did a whole season still with no contract because
- 49:23Speaker 3: they just can't bring theirself to side. But now the
- 49:27Speaker 3: show is a hit. It's the number one show on
- 49:30Speaker 3: ABC for the night. So now what you're going You
- 49:33Speaker 3: can't walk away from the hit. So now they just
- 49:37Speaker 3: presented the contract last.
- 49:39Speaker 6: Week to my lawyer.
- 49:41Speaker 3: And so this is the first time, after all these
- 49:44Speaker 3: years that I own something completely and totally, and uh,
- 49:50Speaker 3: that's the one. Me and Marjorie gone, we're gonna ride
- 49:54Speaker 3: out of here. And I know my kids as a
- 49:57Speaker 3: hold on, I know a lot of my kids is
- 49:59Speaker 3: here listening. And I just said, me and your mama
- 50:05Speaker 3: gonna ride out on this don't count shit.
- 50:11Speaker 6: I just want to be clear about it that.
- 50:13Speaker 3: You brought up ownership and you can edit out the
- 50:16Speaker 3: cussing because I got too comfortable.
- 50:22Speaker 2: You brought up ownership and you spoke about family feud,
- 50:25Speaker 2: and last we spoke, we were talking about how you've
- 50:28Speaker 2: created family feud in South Africa and you're trying to
- 50:31Speaker 2: expand it to other countries.
- 50:32Speaker 6: Can you talk.
- 50:33Speaker 2: About the importance of investing in Africa and the infrastructure
- 50:37Speaker 2: and how for the future that's where we need to
- 50:39Speaker 2: be doing because we try to preach it, and I
- 50:41Speaker 2: feel like people are still looking at as the old perspective,
- 50:44Speaker 2: not knowing that when we go there and we highlight
- 50:47Speaker 2: the great things that are going on, we have an
- 50:49Speaker 2: opportunity to change the perspective and actually build this gold
- 50:52Speaker 2: content that we know it is.
- 50:54Speaker 3: You know what I had to do was I went
- 50:56Speaker 3: to Family Feud and I bought the international rights to
- 51:00Speaker 3: family feud. That way I could own something because I
- 51:05Speaker 3: can't own the family feud. But I was told by everybody,
- 51:10Speaker 3: nobody shoots TV in Africa.
- 51:13Speaker 6: It just won't work.
- 51:15Speaker 3: They don't have the bandwidth, they don't have the capabilities.
- 51:18Speaker 3: They just they don't have that Hollywood dust.
- 51:24Speaker 6: And that's true.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Nobody has the Hollywood dust like Hollywood. See what you
- 51:31Speaker 3: all got to understand. The majority of shows you see
- 51:33Speaker 3: over here is hit shows. They buy the format at
- 51:40Speaker 3: the MIP conference, they bring it back to America, change
- 51:44Speaker 3: the name of it, put that Hollywood dust on it,
- 51:48Speaker 3: make it a hit, and then sell it back to them.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Oh these white folks, Oh they they're incredible. It's the
- 51:56Speaker 3: most amazing thing that really to just clap for their ass.
- 52:02Speaker 6: They buy from.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Them, fix it, dust it all, sprinkle it and say
- 52:07Speaker 3: it back to there, and they buy it. America got
- 52:12Speaker 3: talent man, all that voice, all that.
- 52:15Speaker 6: That ain't from here. They bought that.
- 52:20Speaker 3: But nobody does TV bigger than them. So they kept
- 52:24Speaker 3: telling me they don't have it. Well, nobody does. But
- 52:28Speaker 3: what they kept pushing was these African people, they can't
- 52:33Speaker 3: make this set. They don't know enough about lighting, they
- 52:36Speaker 3: don't have competent camera people. They are so one hundred
- 52:40Speaker 3: percent wrong. Them Africans got everything.
- 52:46Speaker 6: They got everything. They got the band with, they.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Got the talent, they got the grips, they know how
- 52:53Speaker 3: to light. Let me tell you something, man, if you
- 52:56Speaker 3: look at the Family Feud Africa clips, it is colder
- 53:01Speaker 3: than the clips I walk out on every day.
- 53:04Speaker 6: The Africa set is better.
- 53:07Speaker 3: They hard workers, they get it, man, it's just nobody
- 53:10Speaker 3: believed in them. Now you can go over there and
- 53:11Speaker 3: you can make TV a lot more reasonable, but you're
- 53:16Speaker 3: gonna have to come see me because I've created a
- 53:18Speaker 3: company that ain't gonna let your ass go over there
- 53:21Speaker 3: without seeing me. So in case you think you finish,
- 53:24Speaker 3: go over there and pimped the game, not gonna happen.
- 53:30Speaker 3: I'm just kidding. You can go over there, but it
- 53:32Speaker 3: still ain't gonna happen, no man. But it took a
- 53:38Speaker 3: year to figure it out, and then the second year
- 53:41Speaker 3: became noticeably better. But we took a show that they
- 53:45Speaker 3: said you cannot do and turn it into the number
- 53:49Speaker 3: one show in both countries, South Africa and Ghana. We
- 53:53Speaker 3: only shot it into countries. It's a number one show,
- 53:57Speaker 3: but Africa is a place. You all understand something. See
- 54:02Speaker 3: they keeping us away from each other and COVID hit
- 54:07Speaker 3: and I was just about to do a deal with
- 54:09Speaker 3: South African Air to bring African Americans first of all
- 54:12Speaker 3: to Ghana because you have to go see the slave castles.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Every black person living should go to Ghana and see
- 54:20Speaker 3: them slave castles, so you can see what they did
- 54:23Speaker 3: to us. You got to see what they did to us.
- 54:28Speaker 3: You got to see how they built these dungeons underground,
- 54:31Speaker 3: and they put these churches on top, and they dug
- 54:33Speaker 3: holes in the ground to pump the music or they
- 54:36Speaker 3: what they call they Christianity into the holes.
- 54:39Speaker 6: While man, they did, let me explain some of y'all.
- 54:43Speaker 3: They walk them as far as they can.
- 54:46Speaker 6: First to make them lose weight. They put them in
- 54:49Speaker 6: a room.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Then they cut a door, and after you've been in
- 54:52Speaker 3: this room in two weeks, they walk you through this door.
- 54:55Speaker 3: If you lose the right amount of weight, you fit
- 54:57Speaker 3: through the door. If you don't fit through the door,
- 55:00Speaker 3: you got to stay in this room right here. Then
- 55:02Speaker 3: you in this room for another week. That make you
- 55:04Speaker 3: lose some more weight, then you fit through another door.
- 55:06Speaker 3: If you can't fit through the door, you ain't lost
- 55:09Speaker 3: enough weight. You got to go through four doors like
- 55:12Speaker 3: that before you go through the door of no return.
- 55:15Speaker 3: And they steady sitting up there talking about Jesus. Jesus,
- 55:20Speaker 3: me and my wife, we wouldn't even go in they church.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Not going in this hell bound church. You said, if
- 55:26Speaker 3: you're talking about Jesus, and you'd have done this to
- 55:28Speaker 3: us under this ground like this.
- 55:30Speaker 6: Hey man, let me explain something to y'all. What was
- 55:34Speaker 6: done to us is unthinkable.
- 55:39Speaker 3: For us to be sitting here alive and thriving is
- 55:44Speaker 3: a testament to the greatness of us as.
- 55:47Speaker 6: A people with some bad with some bad.
- 55:50Speaker 3: People sitting in here, cause I'm telling you right now,
- 55:54Speaker 3: it would have cracked and broke anybody else.
- 55:59Speaker 6: Nobody could have.
- 56:00Speaker 3: We've stood what we we stood and still be standard.
- 56:05Speaker 6: And they know it.

- 57:22Speaker 3: That's why they keep our prisons filled with our brothers
- 57:25Speaker 3: and sisters.
- 57:26Speaker 6: Because they know it.
- 57:28Speaker 3: That's why see I'm on something else now, But let
- 57:33Speaker 3: me just tell you the truth. So here's the problem.
- 57:39Speaker 3: That's why the tax system will never change. So if
- 57:45Speaker 3: you live in a poor neighborhood, they can't pay as
- 57:49Speaker 3: much taxes as the neighborhood in the suburbs. When they
- 57:52Speaker 3: get the money into the state to allocate the money
- 57:55Speaker 3: for education and facilities back to the pacers who played
- 57:59Speaker 3: the most tax we ain't gonna ever pay the most
- 58:02Speaker 3: taxes because they ain't gonna let the property values be
- 58:04Speaker 3: worth a damn and they're gonna keep us in a circle.
- 58:07Speaker 6: And that's why they.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Got to keep us like that, because they know when
- 58:10Speaker 3: we slip through the cracks on they ass we do much.
- 58:14Speaker 3: When you go to Mohouse and Spelman and Howard and
- 58:17Speaker 3: Tennessee and Prairie View and Southern and you go out
- 58:22Speaker 3: there and you become doctors and lawyers, they know who
- 58:25Speaker 3: you are.
- 58:27Speaker 6: You more.
- 58:29Speaker 3: I met a brother today that's ahead of diversity for Nike.
- 58:32Speaker 6: How he get there? How y'all get in here?
- 58:38Speaker 3: Because it is thing that's in you that won't let
- 58:41Speaker 3: you lay down and die. Because when they incarcerate your
- 58:46Speaker 3: daddy and oh oh, and then and that's the other thing.
- 58:48Speaker 3: So now, since you live in this certain neighborhood. You
- 58:51Speaker 3: on welfare, we'll give you a check. But a man
- 58:53Speaker 3: can't live in the house. Oh, I'll be damn So.
- 58:57Speaker 3: Now that don't promote families.
- 58:59Speaker 6: Does it.
- 59:00Speaker 3: So now we live in these fractured societies and we
- 59:03Speaker 3: keep trying to make something out of nothing. But we
- 59:06Speaker 3: keep showing up though, we keep showing up, And y'all
- 59:09Speaker 3: got to keep on showing up because we it. Man,
- 59:13Speaker 3: I ain't gonna lie to you. We it, We them people,
- 59:18Speaker 3: We them people. If we're gonna if we're gonna keep coming,
- 59:21Speaker 3: and we're gonna keep coming in here, damn thing.
- 59:24Speaker 6: You can do about it.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Ship, I got mad, now gone. I don't even smoke.
- 59:35Speaker 6: You know, I ain't never hed weed in my life, man,
- 59:38Speaker 6: I ain't never heard it.
- 59:39Speaker 5: I know some people, huh, I said, I do not
- 59:41Speaker 5: know some people leisurely. So, while we're on the International Vibe,
- 59:52Speaker 5: during our legendary episode, we spoke about your relationship with
- 59:56Speaker 5: the uae Abu Dhabi, but we never actually spoke about
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: how that relationship started. And I think it's an interesting story.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: Can you talk about how you became so revered in
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: the Middle East and how you've built such good relationships
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: with the royal family over there.
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: Well, you know, it just comes down to respect.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: You can't believe the propaganda that people say about other places.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: You think the Middle East is everybody walking out in
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: the courtyard, pulling cords, blowing up stuff.
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: That's the ones they show you.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: You ever been to the UA, You ever been to
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: a place that's got zero point six percent crime? You
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: ever been to a place where the last car that
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: was stolen in Dubai was thirty years ago? You ever
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: been to the Abu Dhabi where they've never had a
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: stolen car. There are no bank robberies, there are no murders,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: there's no hold ups. Now, you can't come over there
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: smoking no weed. Don't do it. Don't do it, be
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: your last stick. But if you go over there and
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: respect what they have. I just enjoy going to a
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: place that has that much peace in it that I
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: can walk somewhere and ain't nobody gonna jack me. So
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: as my family started going over there twelve years ago,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I guess around twelve years ago it was just to visit.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: And then I was over there and I kept coming
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: so much. They cause why do you come here?
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: You like it? I said, and I respect it.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Then I sat down and I met a lot of
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: the Muslims, and once I understood what Islam was, and
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: I'm a Christian, I'm not changing my faith. My faith
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: been working for me. But I have the sense to
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: respect another faith. Islam is good. Islam is about peace
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: and love. Islam is about respect.
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: You gotta let them have at You ain't God.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: You ain't got no heaven for nobody. You can't pass
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: no judgment. The people got something going on over there.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: So I just started learning myself more and more about
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: how they were.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: And then I was over there shooting.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: They asked me to do something in Dubai for the UAE,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: to do a promotional film, and you know I did.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: It wasn't what I wanted to make, but I was
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: over there like him, and my wife and I were
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: sitting there outside the louver and a car pulled up
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: and said, His Highness would like to see Steve Harvey. Well,
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: let's shut the whole set down. I'm in a car
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: and I go visit him. And the way I met
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: him originally though, was we were at Formula one and
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: one of my favorite pictures is he was pinning me
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: and the guy wanted me to go meet him, and
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: the people lined up to see this man, and I
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: didn't know much about him.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: I said, now, I don't want to bother the man.
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: He said no.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: So the ambassador from the United States walked me up
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: to him and I got ready to introduce myself. I said,
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: how you doing, sir, My name is Steve Harvey. I'm
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: from the United States. He said, I know exactly who
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: you are. He said, your story is incredible. He told
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: me I was homeless. He told me he couldn't believe
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: how I, as a black man in this country, had
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: risen from the dirt to where I was.
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: He told that to me.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Now I'm standing up here, you know me, I'm crying
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: because I'm sitered. I can't believe this dude's even talking
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: to me. And that's how it started, and then it
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: just evolved from there.
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: And this man is.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: One of the kindest men that has power that I've
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: ever seen, the way he treats his people.
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: Look, there have a.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Monarchy, right, and you think, well, listen, but then hey,
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: they got a monarchy in England too.
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: But guess what he take care of his people.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Ain't don't want for nothing, ain't no crime, ain't no homelessness,
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: ain't no unemployment.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: If you ain't working in the UAE is because you
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: don't want a job.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Everybody over there got jobs and he takes care of
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: their people and.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: His kindness is overwhelming.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: And I tied it to Africa because he knew in
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Boswana that I had a relationship with Boswana. When COVID
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: first hit, Botswana had put in an order to China
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: and the Chinese just took their money, told them since
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: they was inland, they couldn't deliver them no pp E supplies,
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: ppete whatever that.
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: Is, mask and all that.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: So I called up the government of UAE, said, man,
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: can you help? These people were gonna lose a whole country,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: BOSWANAE but two and a half million people. They was
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: over there losing people. I said, man, we got to
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: get them some supplies. They got the ruler on the
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: phone and he told me not to tell it. He said,
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: I want this to be from USTe. This is how
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: he is. He put two cargo planes loaded with seven
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: tons of pp supplies, flew him from Abu Dhabi, landed
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: in in Barswana and gave it to him for zero.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: He didn't charge them one single quarter. Now, what ruler
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: you know do that? What ruler does that man cares
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: about another group of people, and he says, Steve, this
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: is from you, you and your wife.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: So we got on Facebook. We did the zoom with them.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: They thanked us and everything. But I couldn't just keep
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: taking credit for that. I don't even know where to
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: get seven tons or nothing, So let me quit.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: Playing this out like his meat.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: No man, it was this man whose brother recently passed
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: and now he's the president of the UAE and one
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: of the most powerful men in the world. And when
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I tell you power because they got oil. They got oil.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: But when you meet these people, they are the kindest,
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: most sincere people I've ever been around ever.
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: And I would stand up and say that about this man.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Anywhere I go in the world, I wouldn't care who
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: didn't like it. Forget everything you've ever heard. After you
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: go to Africa, you got to go to Ghana first.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Then you need to go to Boswana because you need
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: to see what we Boswana is the second richest diamond
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: producer nation in the world. Them black people over that
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: got something. And then you got to go to Johannes
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Bird that's what you got. You got to do that
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: jump right there. Once you see that, you'll understand who
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: we are. Them Africans ain't stolen nothing from us. They
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: talk about Burner Boy stole this. No, we stole from
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: Burner Boy. Them Africans is us many. They the beat,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: They the rhythm, They the soul, they the hard work.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: They We get our courage from them. When you see
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: them people, they look just like your family. I was
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: walking down Johannesburn I thought I was in Detroit. They
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: walk like us, They look like us, they got moves
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: like us. It's just you gotta see it, and we
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: gotta My goal is to help bridge this gap because
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: we got to touch base with them, because they love y'all. Man,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: you don't even know. They thank y'all that catch me out.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: They thank y'all the lick. You know why, because they
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: know what you went through. They know where them slave
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: ship picked you up at. They know they brought you
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: to a land, they know what they did to you.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: And y'all still over here shining. If we take this
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: shine back over there and give them the love and
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: teach them that dust, we'd have a powerful union.
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: Now that has to happen that sikes see Farby bench.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: This is a incredible success, obviously an immedia platform number
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: one show.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: At the number one show.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: I wonder if there is anything that's missing from your portfolio.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Is this something that you have like on the vision
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: board that you have yet to accomplish.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: Well, my wife and I bought a ranch.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: And it used to be owned by the Kathy family,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: which owns Chick fil A.
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: You'll be here tomorrow, thank you for that.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Yeah, by the way, you're welcome.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: And I was doing my mintering camp down there for
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: three years and it was such a beautiful place, man,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: one thousand, six hundred acres And when I tell you, man,
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: oh my goodness, Oh, it's incredibly beautiful.
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: And a few years ago.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: I was down there doing the camp and I approached
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: him about buying, you know, a couple hundred acres if
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: I could just get a couple hundred acres, And it didn't.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Work out at the time.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: But see, God, let me tell you something, man, I
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: don't care what your plan is. God playing way cold
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: in your plan. So he didn't let the two hundred
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: acres go down. So what he was doing was setting
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: it up that I didn't know about.
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: So Marjorie and.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: I bought months back. We bought the whole thing, the
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: whole sixteen hundred acres, and we changed the name of
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: it from the Rock Ranch to the Steven Marjorie Harvey
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Legacy Ranch. That's the theme that Marjorie and I are
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: gonna hang our hat on. So let me tell you
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: what we want to do. We've already started the process.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: We're zoning meetings down there. We're taking this property and
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: we're leasing it to our foundation for one dollar. Because
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: the foundation don't need that hit. We took the money ourselves.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: We leasened it to our foundation for one dollar. We
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: have the plans to build dormitories that sleeps three hundred
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: and fifty boys or girls. We already know we can't
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: bring them together. We figured that out. They have to
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: come separately. I ain't going to be explaining this to nobody,
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Mom and all this hell. The boys and girls come separately.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: We're building dormitories.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: We're building a STEM center to teach STEM.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: We're building an East Sports complex. We're building gymnasiums.
- 1:11:08Speaker 6: We're building a.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Division one weight class weight room.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: We're building a.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: Seven hundred Cet Theater to teach and show presentations in.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: We're building a brand new dining hall facility that's gonna
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: cost a lot of money. Do we have that money now?
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: But you know, man, that's the other thing I learned.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: You know, when God tell you to do something, you
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: got to do it. See, the how too ain't really
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: your business. And that's what really messes a lot of
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: people up. You get it something in your imagination or
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: something you start dreaming about, and then you start figuring
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: out the how too. Well, I got news for you.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: The how too ain't none of your business. The how
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: to is up to God. You got to be willing
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: to do the work and put in the faith. See,
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: that's really all it is. I know a lot of
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: people got educated broke as hell, so I've already figured
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: it out. It ain't your education. As a matter of fact,
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: education ain't even in the Bible. They ain't never mentioned
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Emory in the Bible. They got no scriptures about harved Yell.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: It's not more.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: House ain't even in the Bible. As much as you
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: like it to be, it's not in there. But you
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: know what's in that old dreams visions a man without
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: a dream or vision shall perish.
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: It don't say a man without education with parish.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: So quit worrying about if you don't have the education,
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: if you don't have all the credentials.
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: You need the vision, and you got to be ready
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: to work.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: And look, man, when God puts something in your imagination,
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: when you put it in your heart, you got to
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: go for it. I was talking to you before the
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: thing started. You know the hardest thing to get people
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: about success.
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: The hardest thing is to start. Start. Man.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Most people are frozen with fear, and you frozen with
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: the how too. You can't figure out how to make
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: a million dollars, so you never start. You ain't got
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: to know how to make a million dollars? Who told
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: you that you got to start?
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: Man? You got to take a leap of faith.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Quitn't tripping yourself out of the blessing because you're worrying
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: about the how too. God ain't nowhere in the Bible
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: told you to figure it out. He say, ask, believe, receive.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Then he said faith with our works is dead. You
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: ain't got to know the whole Bible. I don't know
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: but six scriptures. I think I'd have done all six
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: of them.
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: Already. That's all you got to know. Man, You getting tricked.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: Got these people thinking you got to be saved at
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: this church. You got to speak in tongues that that church.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: You got to be over here doing it that this way.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: That's not true. God is a forgiving god, man, God
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: in the blessing business. God don't care if you don't
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: go to Holy Rock or Mountgive a Lot Baptist Church.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: God don't care if you don't go to Apostolic. Y'all
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: tripping man, and you missing out on blessings man because
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: you are worried about the how to when you're gonna start. Yeah,
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: but I'm trying to line all my ducks, so you're
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: not fitna get them lined up.
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: I need some money. You don't have no money.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: If you cut hair, then go cut somebody's hair. Make
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: ten dollars. I think I did this on your podcast.
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: Once you can.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Once God give you a skill to make ten dollars.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: All you got to do is do it ten more times.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: Guess what you got a hundred. Once you make a
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: hundred dollars, you ain't got to change it. You don't
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: need a million dollars. You just need another ten dollars idea.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: Guess what you got ten dollars? Idea, I cut hell
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: bull cut ten more heads thousand dollars. Do it ten
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: more times? You got ten thousand dollars. Whatever you did
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: to make ten thousand dollars, I got news for you,
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: just the hard part. You got to do that ten
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: more times. If you do that ten more times, you
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: now have one hundred thousand dollars. Now Here come the
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: hard part. Whatever you did to make one hundred thousand
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: dollars hit his secret, You got to do that ten
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: more times. Congratulations, you are now a millionaire with a
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: ten dollars idea, because all you can do is cut hell.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: If you baked pie, baked pie.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: If you fry chicken better than anybody else, why ain't
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: your ass.
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: Hurt out there out there frying chicken?
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: If you draw better than anybody else, why ain't you
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: drawing selling your art? Y'all tripping sent up in here
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: trying to figure out how to make a million dollars? Hell,
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: if you knew how to make a million dollars, wouldn't
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: you do it by tomorrow?
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: No?
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: Man, take your ten dollar gift, your one hundred dollar gift,
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: and going a bout your business. When I started comedy, man,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: I made twenty five dollars a night, twenty five dollars
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: a night.
