- 1:25Speaker 10: I'm Brian and I'm coming to you live via digital
- 1:27Speaker 10: recording from Patrick's, where we are here in.
- 1:30Speaker 9: The middle of Oscar insanity.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yes, that's right.
- 1:33Speaker 10: It's our continuing Oscar party celebration.
- 1:36Speaker 9: Known as Oscar Meltdown.
- 1:38Speaker 10: We are now knee-deep in the festivities, and at the
- 1:40Speaker 10: halfway point of awarding our own awards, that's right, it's
- 1:43Speaker 10: the Foilers, Movie Meltdown's own special awards, that have been
- 1:49Speaker 10: nominated and voted on by not just the cast here,
- 1:52Speaker 10: but many of our contributors and very special listeners. We've
- 1:56Speaker 10: all gotten together and put together these categories, and they've
- 1:59Speaker 10: submitted their nominations, and we've gone through the votes, and
- 2:02Speaker 10: now we're going through and cracking open those magical briefcases
- 2:05Speaker 10: and telling you who the winners are.
- 2:08Speaker 4: So we're about to get back into that.
- 2:09Speaker 10: If you haven't been listening in the proper order, you
- 2:11Speaker 10: should go back and listen to episode 301, The Foilers,
- 2:15Speaker 10: and there you will hear the first half of the
- 2:16Speaker 10: awards being given out. But if you're up to date
- 2:19Speaker 10: and brave enough to soldier on, let's get back into
- 2:21Speaker 10: this party and into the insanity that is Oscar Meltdown.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Is that her sound effect?
- 2:31Speaker 8: That is her sound effect.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Do we actually know her name? No.
- 2:37Speaker 8: Kerry Washington.
- 2:38Speaker 4: She is not Kerry Washington.
- 2:40Speaker 11: I'm just calling her forehead. Those forehead expressions.
- 2:43Speaker 4: What?
- 2:43Speaker 11: Is he getting his nails done?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Why are we looking at a picture of Tim McGraw
- 2:49Speaker 2: getting a manicure during the red carpet?
- 2:52Speaker 4: Patrick Harris' mom looks like she was made.
- 2:54Speaker 2: In a boardroom.
- 2:59Speaker 8: Oh, God, our cut.
- 2:59Speaker 11: Whoa, she looks cracked out.
- 3:01Speaker 8: She is cracked out.
- 3:03Speaker 11: What is up?
- 3:04Speaker 12: She actually looks like that princess bride.
- 3:07Speaker 2: She kept glancing over her shoulder a second ago like
- 3:10Speaker 2: she was expecting somebody to sneak up behind her.
- 3:13Speaker 11: She's waiting for her dope dealer to come.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Why did they like, hey, let's do this interview on
- 3:17Speaker 4: this ledge?
- 3:17Speaker 11: She's like, oh, my gosh, don't fall over.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Let's sit up here and rap, Patty.
- 3:22Speaker 10: Many a time I try to set up an interview,
- 3:24Speaker 10: I'm like, can we climb out of this windowsill for
- 3:26Speaker 10: a minute?
- 3:26Speaker 4: That'd be great.
- 3:27Speaker 8: So they can't see the I can't girl being too drunk.
- 3:29Speaker 4: That is great.
- 3:31Speaker 8: Love the front, please.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Come on, next category, next category. Are you sure? So,
- 3:35Speaker 4: on the other end here, best monster in a 2014 film.
- 3:40Speaker 8: Gareth Edwards.
- 3:41Speaker 9: Smog wins this, right?
- 3:44Speaker 10: Now, this one we have your pal Smog. Scarlett Johansson
- 3:50Speaker 10: in Under the Skin.
- 3:52Speaker 9: It was a monster? Are aliens monsters, Bill?
- 3:54Speaker 10: I like that I just sort of leave this up
- 3:56Speaker 10: and let people fill in what they think.
- 3:59Speaker 4: The Nazi zombie colonel Herzog in Dead Snow 2.
- 4:03Speaker 7: What?
- 4:04Speaker 4: Dead Snow 2 came out? Yeah. Red vs. Dead. I
- 4:09Speaker 4: gotta get that shit going.
- 4:11Speaker 10: Truthfully, when I wrote down this category for this year,
- 4:15Speaker 10: this is the first thing that came to mind.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Is not the winner. The only thing that came to
- 4:20Speaker 4: mind when I came up with it was The Babadook.
- 4:22Speaker 8: Yeah, I was going to say The Babadook. I was
- 4:23Speaker 8: going to say that.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Not to be on the list.
- 4:26Speaker 8: I'm so glad that Babadook is the winner.
- 4:29Speaker 4: So at least, sadly it's not.
- 4:31Speaker 9: What's The Babadook?
- 4:32Speaker 2: The Babadook.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Are you not?
- 4:33Speaker 8: You haven't seen The Babadook?
- 4:35Speaker 6: No.
- 4:35Speaker 8: We have so many movies to.
- 4:36Speaker 9: Watch over here.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Every week we're going to be in his basement.
- 4:40Speaker 8: I really want you all to come over every weekend
- 4:42Speaker 8: and watch Mr.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Babadook.
- 4:44Speaker 9: What's Jimmy Babadook? You still haven't answered a question.
- 4:46Speaker 7: Jimmy Babadook!
- 4:47Speaker 9: What the fuck is a Babadook?
- 4:48Speaker 4: You just need to watch it.
- 4:50Speaker 9: Like the movie's called Babadook?
- 4:52Speaker 4: It's the Babadook. And it's awesome.
- 4:54Speaker 9: It's like a horror movie.
- 4:55Speaker 8: But it's like a 70s....
- 4:58Speaker 4: Australian-ese... It's a real horror movie.
- 5:01Speaker 13: Not like these movies i'm really glad the baba duke almost.
- 5:06Speaker 10: Won what's the winner actually but the thing is i
- 5:10Speaker 10: totally wasn't thinking this i just went straight to more
- 5:13Speaker 10: traditional horror-esque monster uh almost overwhelmingly like more than half
- 5:19Speaker 10: uh godzilla which makes sense i mean i just was
- 5:23Speaker 10: going more horror monster so.
- 5:25Speaker 8: They got it wrong.
- 5:28Speaker 4: We're leaning towards the Babadook, but technically the winner is Godzilla.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Yeah, whatever.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Next category.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And I love Godzilla. The best action sequence in a
- 5:39Speaker 4: 2014 movie.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Captain America.
- 5:42Speaker 9: Yeah, that's what went to my head immediately, too.
- 5:44Speaker 8: That first one where he drops down on the boat.
- 5:46Speaker 9: I mean, as good as Guardians of the Galaxy was,
- 5:48Speaker 9: I can't say there was an outstanding action sequence, but
- 5:51Speaker 9: there was a lot of great.
- 5:54Speaker 9: Have you seen the L-Tank? The L-Tank of that is hilarious.
- 5:57Speaker 8: Ronan starts dancing. Go on, Brian.
- 6:01Speaker 4: We're waiting on you. I don't think you are. You're still... Anyway. So,
- 6:07Speaker 4: the Quicksilver scene in X-Men.
- 6:09Speaker 6: It's pretty good.
- 6:12Speaker 4: It's pretty good.
- 6:13Speaker 10: Here you go.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Captain America 2. Any of them.
- 6:18Speaker 10: The Snowpiercer train cart fight with Black Outs.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Oh, you need to see it. It's pretty freaking awesome.
- 6:27Speaker 9: What's it called?
- 6:27Speaker 5: Snowpiercer.
- 6:29Speaker 9: That's the name of the movie? Snowpiercer?
- 6:30Speaker 4: Where are you at? We're going to have to make
- 6:32Speaker 4: you a list of movies.
- 6:34Speaker 8: Is it the Liam Neeson movie?
- 6:35Speaker 4: No, it's Captain America.
- 6:38Speaker 9: Chris Evans?
- 6:39Speaker 10: Chris Evans on a train. It's like post-apocalyptic train that
- 6:43Speaker 10: goes around the world. I'm not making it up.
- 6:45Speaker 4: It's what it is.
- 6:51Speaker 10: The Halo jump past Godzilla We keep coming back to Godzilla.
- 6:56Speaker 8: I could allow that to.
- 6:58Speaker 10: Be the one The hospital shootout scene Have you seen
- 7:03Speaker 10: We Still Kill.
- 7:04Speaker 4: The Old Way?
- 7:05Speaker 10: No It's brought up a few times here The hospital
- 7:09Speaker 10: shootout in We Still Kill the Old Way The Raid
- 7:14Speaker 10: 2 car chase.
- 7:14Speaker 9: Apparently we need to see the second one.
- 7:18Speaker 10: The Red Circle shootout in John Wick Which is pretty badass.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Yeah. The mud yard fight in Raid 2.
- 7:26Speaker 10: Again, everybody's back to Raid 2. This is the one
- 7:29Speaker 10: I was going to say as opposed to your Guardians
- 7:32Speaker 10: of the Galaxy. The escape from jail is pretty impressive, actually.
- 7:37Speaker 10: Their whole little giant plan to.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Escape from the prison. That's pretty epic.
- 7:41Speaker 11: Yeah, that was good.
- 7:43Speaker 4: And the kids' classroom scene in Snowpiercer. Once again, you've
- 7:46Speaker 4: got to get on the stage.
- 7:49Speaker 10: And the winner is the Quicksilver scene from X-Men.
- 7:53Speaker 9: No, you know, I can get behind that.
- 7:55Speaker 4: The Quicksilver scene.
- 7:56Speaker 9: Did you hear what it was.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Originally supposed to be?
- 7:59Speaker 10: No.
- 8:00Speaker 13: The Beast is flying a plane above the Pentagon and
- 8:04Speaker 13: has Juggernaut in it. I'm being super serious about this.
- 8:07Speaker 13: And Juggernaut's like, and it's the Juggernaut from X-Men 3.
- 8:11Speaker 13: And Juggernaut's like, I don't understand what the plan is.
- 8:13Speaker 13: And the Beast is like, yeah, we haven't told you yet.
- 8:15Speaker 13: And just throws him out of the plane and he
- 8:17Speaker 13: torpedoes in and then gets magneto magneto's like who the
- 8:21Speaker 13: fuck are you and then he just runs like through
- 8:24Speaker 13: all the walls.
- 8:26Speaker 9: I'm just curious if the script was gonna have professor
- 8:29Speaker 9: x go hey brother because juggernaut is professor x's brother
- 8:36Speaker 9: which is something they didn't acknowledge in the third movie
- 8:40Speaker 9: that whole scene when he died and juggernaut's like guarding
- 8:43Speaker 9: out front of the house like dude that's your brother
- 8:45Speaker 9: dead in there like why aren't we acknowledging family what
- 8:48Speaker 9: are you.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Reading comic books or something this will get.
- 8:50Speaker 10: You nowhere in comic book movies no that scene was
- 8:53Speaker 10: great it is it's pretty i don't it's i kind
- 8:56Speaker 10: of feel like it's kind of hard to call action.
- 9:01Speaker 4: It's impressive i mean there's.
- 9:02Speaker 9: Actions going on and water drops falling but it almost
- 9:07Speaker 9: had a bit of a montage feel it's like i'm
- 9:09Speaker 9: gonna set all this stuff up and then okay cool
- 9:12Speaker 9: let's go Any part of Winter Soldier.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Jesus.
- 9:16Speaker 9: No, no, I can get behind Quicksilver, too.
- 9:18Speaker 8: Go on, what's the next category?
- 9:19Speaker 4: You know, I'm with Winter Soldier, too.
- 9:20Speaker 8: Jared Leto is Winter Soldier.
- 9:22Speaker 9: Oh, shut your face.
- 9:23Speaker 8: Might as well be.
- 9:25Speaker 10: Okay, so, let's see the wording on this one is,
- 9:28Speaker 10: forget their impressive acting skills, the hottest actor or actress
- 9:32Speaker 10: in a 2014 film.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I like this. Let's not worry about their skills. Let's
- 9:36Speaker 4: be superficial. So, the nominees.
- 9:39Speaker 10: Now, this is the first time, and I In previous years,
- 9:44Speaker 10: I throw it out there and it's.
- 9:45Speaker 4: A general male or female.
- 9:47Speaker 10: In the last couple of years, the women have been
- 9:49Speaker 10: slacking on their returns, so we hardly had anything but females.
- 9:53Speaker 10: This time we have a pretty good mixture, so I'm
- 9:55Speaker 10: just going to go with one of each. We actually
- 9:58Speaker 10: have a winner for both, so. nominees for female are,
- 10:02Speaker 10: as we've been seeing her here all night, Emma Stone,
- 10:05Speaker 10: Emily Blunt for Edge of Tomorrow, and Jessica Chastain in Interstellar.
- 10:12Speaker 4: But the winner by several extra votes here would be
- 10:15Speaker 4: Scarlett Johansson, because you can't fight Scarlett. Black Widow forgot.
- 10:22Speaker 9: She kind of owned last year. She did so much.
- 10:25Speaker 4: She'll kick you in the head. If you can set
- 10:30Speaker 4: that up.
- 10:34Speaker 9: She had a kid last year too, right? Didn't she
- 10:37Speaker 9: have a kid last year too?
- 10:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure she gave birth.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Actually, I forgot. This one is one of the ones
- 10:45Speaker 4: we have a two-way tie.
- 10:47Speaker 10: Because equally as many as Scarlet is Karen Gillan as
- 10:52Speaker 10: Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 10:55Speaker 9: All those Doctor Who kids.
- 10:56Speaker 10: Yeah, but she's so damn likable, too. It's why it's
- 11:00Speaker 10: hard to believe it's her in Guardians.
- 11:02Speaker 9: I was impressed that she shaved her head.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 9: She had red hair past her hips. She had really
- 11:07Speaker 9: long hair, and she shaved her head.
- 11:08Speaker 5: For that part.
- 11:09Speaker 10: Yeah, she's so cute and likable. And then she gets
- 11:11Speaker 10: in that movie, and she's badass. So I'm just kind
- 11:13Speaker 10: of like, more power to her.
- 11:14Speaker 4: So, yep.
- 11:16Speaker 10: That one's yeah scarlet and karen so that's that's awesome
- 11:21Speaker 10: now for the guys uh we have our our nominees
- 11:23Speaker 10: aren't some of these i don't know if you'll agree
- 11:25Speaker 10: with like joaquin phoenix from an inherent bite.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Oh really.
- 11:35Speaker 10: So okay joaquin um these are hot choices jake gyllenhaal Really?
- 11:42Speaker 4: I guess, but it's a weird choice. Yeah, I know.
- 11:45Speaker 10: I thought that was an odd choice, too. But the winner,
- 11:48Speaker 10: and again, you can't argue this one, Captain America. Freaking hot, studly,
- 11:53Speaker 10: beard-having Chris Evans.
- 11:55Speaker 9: So it wasn't Hemsworth?
- 11:56Speaker 4: I would probably say Thor.
- 11:59Speaker 9: Was it GQ?
- 12:00Speaker 4: I thought people, hottest man of the year or something.
- 12:03Speaker 9: Yeah, like hottest man of the year. It was Thor.
- 12:05Speaker 11: I think Chris Hemsworth is way more.
- 12:07Speaker 10: You can't argue. See, but again, I think there's a
- 12:10Speaker 10: weird disconnect with with Hemsworth. I like him, but there's
- 12:14Speaker 10: no like, like Chris Evans seems like he's actually like
- 12:17Speaker 10: a real person.
- 12:17Speaker 9: You can see his personality. Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 4: You can sense.
- 12:21Speaker 9: The fun personality in there.
- 12:23Speaker 8: Hemsworth is like, he's just pretty.
- 12:26Speaker 9: You don't really know what you're going home with.
- 12:30Speaker 4: And I'm like, I'm not really getting anything else.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Off of him.
- 12:32Speaker 4: He's just kind of there. I don't know. I'm glad
- 12:36Speaker 4: Captain America won't.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Want some music for your ears? Doo-Wop Shop makes it
- 13:23Speaker 5: easy to rent for any event, business meeting, or special occasion.
- 13:26Speaker 5: From PA systems to karaoke machines to just about anything
- 13:29Speaker 5: that makes noise, you can rent it from the Doo-Wop Shop.
- 13:32Speaker 5: In Louisville, find them either at their Highland store at
- 13:35Speaker 5: 1587 Bardstown Road or in the East End at 2915
- 13:38Speaker 5: South Hurstburn Parkway. And look for them online at DooWopShop.com.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Doo-Wop Shop. We're serious about music.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Man, you ain't even going wild on the internet.
- 13:49Speaker 11: It's blowing up.
- 13:50Speaker 8: It's the squared circle of knowledge.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You can even subscribe on iTunes and Stitcher.
- 13:55Speaker 4: And make sure to like the Facebook page.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Leave a good review or we'll hurt you. Tell a
- 13:58Speaker 2: friend about the show.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Yeah!
- 13:59Speaker 4: Awesome! Yeah!
- 14:19Speaker 8: That's Y-O-U-E-I-G-H-D-I-T.
- 14:23Speaker 4: You hate it.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Education has never been so wild. If this is the
- 14:28Speaker 2: Super Bowl of fashion, why are the commercials garbage?
- 14:32Speaker 4: Because they don't cost as much. They don't bother spending
- 14:35Speaker 4: that much for that.
- 14:36Speaker 9: I'm trying to push it on you.
- 14:37Speaker 8: Well, I got me a bottle of red wine over here.
- 14:40Speaker 4: I can't do that.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It sounded like Sammy Hagar, actually.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I thought you were doing Red Fox.
- 14:46Speaker 10: Hold on.
- 14:52Speaker 4: I forgot we have to introduce the mascot. He has
- 14:55Speaker 4: been the mascot ever since the Oscar meltdown started. It's Babe.
- 15:00Speaker 11: Oh, I love it!
- 15:02Speaker 4: Hanging out next to the pork products.
- 15:04Speaker 11: Oh my gosh, he's so cute.
- 15:06Speaker 9: As we eat all his relatives.
- 15:08Speaker 11: We're eating all his friends.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Babe, your dad is delicious.
- 15:12Speaker 9: They make my mouth happy.
- 15:14Speaker 4: It's not in bad taste. What are you talking about?
- 15:17Speaker 4: It tastes fine. Oh, he's really cute.
- 15:20Speaker 9: Such a little road warrior.
- 15:22Speaker 4: He is. I'm telling you. It's true.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I don't know what this commercial on TV is for,
- 15:26Speaker 2: but it's the saddest shit I've ever seen.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Alzheimer's.
- 15:32Speaker 2: There were just people looking around at shit all sad, like,
- 15:36Speaker 2: my life is over.
- 15:37Speaker 6: I do that sometimes.
- 15:37Speaker 11: I'm like, what did I do with my house key?
- 15:40Speaker 6: Oh, it's next to the spinach.
- 15:40Speaker 4: That's where it is.
- 15:42Speaker 10: I've got mustard in that refrigerator over there, and I
- 15:44Speaker 10: don't want to leave it because Patrick will steal it.
- 15:46Speaker 10: So I put my keys in there so I can't
- 15:47Speaker 10: leave without my mustard.
- 15:49Speaker 8: I love me some mustard.
- 15:50Speaker 4: He's a mustard thief. Why would you shoot a man
- 15:53Speaker 4: in the head? Yes.
- 15:56Speaker 11: Bend and snap. Bend and snap.
- 15:58Speaker 7: Okay.
- 15:59Speaker 9: That's little Stifler's mom, right?
- 16:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 9: Isn't that American Pie?
- 16:03Speaker 10: Yep.
- 16:03Speaker 8: She's trying to get her dog back.
- 16:05Speaker 11: Best in show. Yeah, best in show.
- 16:06Speaker 9: Oh, I saw Marvel logo. That means this is amazing.
- 16:09Speaker 6: Okay.
- 16:10Speaker 9: All right, maybe not. It's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
- 16:12Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 16:13Speaker 2: It looks like another Alzheimer's commercial.
- 16:16Speaker 9: I wish I had Alzheimer's after watching this show.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Did I put my keys in the earthquake?
- 16:22Speaker 9: Has anybody watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? I tried.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Like, I tried hard.
- 16:25Speaker 9: I got six episodes deep, and I was like, no,
- 16:28Speaker 9: I'm a mark, but I'm not enough of a mark
- 16:30Speaker 9: to watch bad TV just because it has the Marvel
- 16:33Speaker 9: logo on it.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Agent Carter was awesome.
- 16:35Speaker 9: See, I need to watch that. I heard that that
- 16:36Speaker 9: was really good.
- 16:37Speaker 8: Is that the one that takes place in the old days?
- 16:39Speaker 9: The whole day.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Post-Captain era, but before, you know.
- 16:44Speaker 6: The 60s.
- 16:45Speaker 4: She's not typing stuff. It kind of sucks for Agent
- 16:47Speaker 4: Carter because she's like getting him coffee and shit. It's
- 16:50Speaker 4: not cool. But the show's on.
- 16:52Speaker 8: Motherfucker, did you see me in Freeway? I went ape
- 16:55Speaker 8: shit on that cracker.
- 16:57Speaker 4: This is probably going to work better without the sound.
- 16:59Speaker 9: Absolutely.
- 17:01Speaker 10: We don't have to pretend like we're listening to Reese Witherspoon.
- 17:03Speaker 6: All right.
- 17:05Speaker 2: It's got some weird forehead lines going on.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Is that silly, buddy?
- 17:09Speaker 9: It looks like the weather channel is on her forehead.
- 17:12Speaker 9: You can see every wave of the incoming snowstorm.
- 17:15Speaker 8: She's been drinking a lot lately.
- 17:17Speaker 11: Isn't she the one that got arrested not long ago?
- 17:19Speaker 4: Don't you know who I am?
- 17:21Speaker 11: Yes, exactly.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Don't you know who I am? I'm Reese Witherspoon.
- 17:26Speaker 11: I'm legally blonde.
- 17:27Speaker 4: You gotta do your hand while you're doing this.
- 17:29Speaker 8: Bitch, don't you know who I is?
- 17:32Speaker 11: Girl, that's too good for her.
- 17:34Speaker 4: She's country.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I've never seen anybody have an emotion that makes a
- 17:38Speaker 2: forehead look that way. What emotion makes that?
- 17:40Speaker 11: Y'all, don't you know who I am?
- 17:42Speaker 8: I'm Reese Witherspoon, y'all.
- 17:43Speaker 2: What emotion makes a face look like that?
- 17:45Speaker 9: Is there dueling foreheads? I feel like we're having dueling foreheads.
- 17:49Speaker 9: It's like, I can create five wrinkles, bitch.
- 17:54Speaker 13: It's so funny because you should have all that hair
- 17:56Speaker 13: and that cute utility belt, but you don't.
- 18:04Speaker 8: Are you naked all the time? Does Han know?
- 18:07Speaker 10: You really should figure out what her name is so
- 18:10Speaker 10: people know who we're making fun of. Whoever this Oscar
- 18:13Speaker 10: host is that is seven foot three.
- 18:16Speaker 9: Speaking of Attack on Titan.
- 18:21Speaker 13: It's so funny because you just go down under that
- 18:23Speaker 13: compartment and bang on the engine and then the warp
- 18:25Speaker 13: drive works.
- 18:27Speaker 11: Everybody thinks my dress is sparkly, but really it's just
- 18:29Speaker 11: glitter and blood.
- 18:32Speaker 9: This is the preferred way to do the Oscars.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I really don't want to take away from making
- 18:36Speaker 4: fun of Reese.
- 18:37Speaker 9: I've never, ever, ever found that woman attractive. Like, not
- 18:40Speaker 9: even a little bit.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Who's that?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Reese Witherspoon.
- 18:43Speaker 4: I've never found her attractive.
- 18:44Speaker 11: Oh, damn titties, what?
- 18:45Speaker 4: Shocker, J-Lo with a deep cut.
- 18:46Speaker 11: She's out. Like with her Versace dress from years ago.
- 18:53Speaker 8: I just want you to remember that I am the
- 18:55Speaker 8: original titties.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Slit to the navel.
- 18:58Speaker 12: Everyone knows I have to remind everyone I have titties, too.
- 19:00Speaker 11: She is the original booty.
- 19:02Speaker 4: She does have to balance things out, you know.
- 19:03Speaker 9: I'm not feeling the pink lipstick.
- 19:07Speaker 2: No, it looks like she's got actual bronze on her face,
- 19:10Speaker 2: and that's weird.
- 19:11Speaker 11: Why are you looking at her lips? Everybody's looking at
- 19:13Speaker 11: her boobs that are covered in gemstones.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Whose job is that? Again, J-Lo, not really... How much
- 19:20Speaker 4: did that cost?
- 19:20Speaker 2: To put gemstones on boobs? Are you paying in cash
- 19:24Speaker 2: or cocaine?
- 19:27Speaker 4: Which is cheaper in the alley?
- 19:29Speaker 2: Probably cocaine.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I just don't.
- 19:32Speaker 11: Think she's that unique looking. I think she's attractive. I
- 19:35Speaker 11: just think she's... I don't know.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Cookie cutter.
- 19:40Speaker 11: She's basic. She's got all the qualities that anybody wants, but...
- 19:45Speaker 11: nothing that stands out.
- 19:47Speaker 4: You're just not from the Bronx.
- 19:48Speaker 10: That's the problem.
- 19:49Speaker 11: I don't care. Jenny can be from the Bronx. I'm
- 19:53Speaker 11: not from that block.
- 19:56Speaker 4: And you really want to be.
- 19:58Speaker 11: I think she's from Queens.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Or Brooklyn. I can't remember.
- 20:03Speaker 8: Where does the 6 train come from?
- 20:05Speaker 4: Go to.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Queens, I think.
- 20:07Speaker 11: Queens, yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Are you referencing her album title? Yeah. I knew where
- 20:11Speaker 4: you were going is the sad part, that we both.
- 20:13Speaker 4: That's totally what it was.
- 20:14Speaker 8: That's because you all are the same age.
- 20:16Speaker 4: And we're on the sixth. Probably.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Fine.
- 20:22Speaker 11: Who is this guy that she keeps talking to?
- 20:24Speaker 9: Oh, you're missing it, Patrick.
- 20:25Speaker 14: You've got my hair going on.
- 20:28Speaker 12: This is the girl's girl and the guy's girl and
- 20:31Speaker 12: everyone's girl.
- 20:32Speaker 2: I'm glad the Grace Jones look is coming back. She
- 20:34Speaker 2: kind of has a bum.
- 20:35Speaker 9: The Russian wife from, like, Rocky going on there.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Bridget Nielsen?
- 20:38Speaker 6: Oh, God.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Bridget Nielsen.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Let's do a podcast about her. Fuck the Oscars.
- 20:44Speaker 11: Can we talk about her when she's on The Surreal Live?
- 20:47Speaker 4: Do we have to? I think we're all still blocking
- 20:51Speaker 4: that out, aren't we?
- 20:52Speaker 11: But that was the funniest part. Why would you want
- 20:54Speaker 11: to block that out?
- 20:56Speaker 12: I mean, her and, like, what her riding around on
- 20:59Speaker 12: his hover-round, drunk, naked.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 4: I'm sticking with blocking. I don't need that image.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Let's go back to Cobra era, Brigitte Nielsen, shall we?
- 21:09Speaker 8: 1987.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Now that I can get on board with.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Some fucking tall hair and shoulder pads business.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I mean, you got to match. You got to go
- 21:17Speaker 4: with a laser. You got to beat your car. Where's
- 21:20Speaker 4: the downside of Cobra?
- 21:21Speaker 9: Cobra's a perfect movie. There's so much impossible shit with
- 21:24Speaker 9: that car. I loved when he spun it around and
- 21:26Speaker 9: was apparently doing reverse at 50, 60 miles an hour
- 21:29Speaker 9: down the highway and then spun it back around.
- 21:31Speaker 10: And he comes up over those hills and just lands
- 21:34Speaker 10: and doesn't just mangle the whole front end like you
- 21:36Speaker 10: actually would.
- 21:37Speaker 4: But he does it like six or eight times.
- 21:40Speaker 8: Bitch, watch your dress.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Meanwhile, the rest of Los Angeles is sliding down a
- 21:45Speaker 2: hill into the pit of hell because they don't know
- 21:48Speaker 2: how to deal with rain. Or at least that's what
- 21:51Speaker 2: I'm told.
- 21:52Speaker 4: All right. So, the movies they expected to hate but
- 21:58Speaker 4: actually ended up liking.
- 21:59Speaker 8: John Wick is the winner.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
- 22:03Speaker 10: I'm not going to acknowledge this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
- 22:08Speaker 9: Oh, my God. Someone watched it and liked it.
- 22:11Speaker 10: Edge of Tomorrow, which that's kind of the one I
- 22:13Speaker 10: was also in that camp.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I was like, that's, yeah. And Hunger Games Mockingjay, which again...
- 22:20Speaker 4: I had such low expectations through the series. It's gotten
- 22:23Speaker 4: better each movie.
- 22:24Speaker 13: I think it'll be best when you can watch the
- 22:26Speaker 13: second and the third one together as one film.
- 22:28Speaker 4: I think so. Because that one, that last one's pretty
- 22:31Speaker 4: damn good, actually.
- 22:32Speaker 10: I didn't care about the games, because the games are
- 22:34Speaker 10: so kiddified, but once we get away from the games, yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 10: once we get into battling and no games, I'm all
- 22:40Speaker 10: for that.
- 22:40Speaker 4: It's a good movie.
- 22:41Speaker 9: It's a modern day animal.
- 22:43Speaker 4: But the winner is John Wick.
- 22:46Speaker 8: Yeah, John Wick.
- 22:48Speaker 4: God, it was so good.
- 22:49Speaker 9: I'll watch it this week.
- 22:50Speaker 8: It is so good down there.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I think you need to.
- 22:54Speaker 9: I'll do it.
- 22:56Speaker 10: Alright, one of our signature categories here. The dreariest study
- 23:00Speaker 10: of the human condition in 2014. I like seeing where
- 23:04Speaker 10: people go with this one. Our choices here are Birdman, Nightcrawler,
- 23:12Speaker 10: The Judge, Boyhood, Tammy, Godzilla.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Patrick Evil Awakens, and Citizen Four. And the winner is Nightcrawler.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Nightcrawler What the hell? One of a kind. Snarking and fixing.
- 24:03Speaker 6: Don't look behind you, Nightcrawler.
- 24:06Speaker 7: People have to be skin black, Nightcrawler.
- 24:11Speaker 6: You know he's coming back, Nightcrawler.

- 25:03Speaker 4: Hey, I'm Greg Sestero and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 25:06Speaker 13: Leave your stupid comments in your pocket.
- 25:17Speaker 8: This is the night of nights. The one night in
- 25:19Speaker 8: the year when we forgive.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Each other our trespasses and band together to beat the English. Backstage,
- 25:28Speaker 3: they're whispering, the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming,
- 25:31Speaker 3: but the British are already here.
- 25:35Speaker 8: Where is that Paul Revere when you need him?
- 25:45Speaker 4: She's so hot.
- 25:46Speaker 8: They're so hot together.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Right there on stage.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Who is she?
- 25:54Speaker 4: Who has she been in?
- 25:55Speaker 10: Man, you're going to have to try again.
- 25:58Speaker 9: Who is she?
- 25:58Speaker 8: I did not watch G.I.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Joe. Okay.
- 26:00Speaker 9: Are they together or are they just.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Kind of going to hit it later?
- 26:02Speaker 11: Because they're totally going to.
- 26:04Speaker 9: Hit it later.
- 26:26Speaker 10: Sound Mixy, which means none of you really understand how
- 26:29Speaker 10: this works. If you did, you would understand why there's
- 26:32Speaker 10: a separate category for sound editing.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Well, that's true.
- 26:36Speaker 10: There are a lot of gun noises and whatnot.
- 26:40Speaker 9: Time those gun noises just right or.
- 26:42Speaker 5: It ruins the whole movie.
- 26:44Speaker 10: It's all jacked up if you don't do it right.
- 26:47Speaker 10: And they have to give it some because it's not
- 26:48Speaker 10: going to end up as good. So they're like, we
- 26:51Speaker 10: like you and we gave you millions of dollars, but
- 26:53Speaker 10: we're not going to give you best pictures.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Ugh, all that sand.
- 26:58Speaker 11: They just make everyone so angry. I hate when sand
- 27:04Speaker 11: gets everywhere. That's why there's war there all the time.
- 27:08Speaker 11: They're like, god damn it!
- 27:09Speaker 9: You know, I've always felt like we should just like
- 27:13Speaker 9: flood the region with air conditioners. Just give them so
- 27:17Speaker 9: much air conditioning that They'll.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Just be so much more laid back.
- 27:23Speaker 10: Like when they do food drops in other countries, they
- 27:25Speaker 10: just drop air conditioning units.
- 27:27Speaker 9: Isn't that like a realistic stat? Like in the summer
- 27:29Speaker 9: when it's super hot, people are more violent.
- 27:31Speaker 4: They do that in our cities too. What if the entire.
- 27:34Speaker 9: Region was always fucking hot? Like wouldn't that same.
- 27:38Speaker 4: You might be on to something.
- 27:39Speaker 9: We just need to give them a whole bunch of
- 27:41Speaker 9: air conditioners.
- 27:43Speaker 4: You're going to have to run for office. Are you
- 27:45Speaker 4: prepared to do that? You got to get a fancy suit.
- 27:50Speaker 10: You've got to stand at a podium and say, drop
- 27:52Speaker 10: air conditioner.
- 28:04Speaker 9: Blue is tux? Isn't it a white tux?
- 28:07Speaker 4: Maybe it's powder.
- 28:08Speaker 9: Oh, is it a baby blue? Man, those shoes are big. Hey, Jesus.
- 28:16Speaker 4: That's just a tweak away from Pee Wee Herman.
- 28:19Speaker 9: Ladies and gentlemen, the Joker. I heard he's being written
- 28:28Speaker 9: to be Shakespearean. Like seriously, they're not doing a Clockwork
- 28:32Speaker 9: Orange kind of dark sadistic thing. Apparently he's going to
- 28:34Speaker 9: be very kind of eloquent. Like his words, he said
- 28:38Speaker 9: that his Joker is going to be Shakespearean.
- 28:39Speaker 4: I don't know how I feel about that.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Suicide Squad.
- 28:44Speaker 9: Yeah, Joker's in it. Because he's in Arkham Asylum when
- 28:47Speaker 9: they break in. So they run into him in there.
- 28:52Speaker 8: So, did they not age for 12 years? Or did
- 28:55Speaker 8: these people age too?
- 28:56Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty sure they all did.
- 28:57Speaker 8: They just shut up for a month every year?
- 29:01Speaker 10: I mean, again, you gotta give Linklater credit. Like, he
- 29:04Speaker 10: convinced all these people, specifically those two that are legit actors.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Granted, he was friends.
- 29:09Speaker 10: Like, definitely he and, what's his name, were friends. But, like, still, yeah,
- 29:13Speaker 10: he and Ethan were friends. But, like, the fact that
- 29:15Speaker 10: he's like, okay, at least.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Once a year... Sometimes a couple times a year.
- 29:19Speaker 10: For the next 12 years, I want you to put
- 29:22Speaker 10: on hold whatever you're doing.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Come shoot a few scenes of this movie.
- 29:26Speaker 13: Best Jurassic Park actress of all time.
- 29:31Speaker 4: No Sam Neill.
- 29:32Speaker 6: I love Sam Neill. Actress.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Things you don't know about Sam Neill.
- 29:36Speaker 9: Terrible looking overalls.
- 29:38Speaker 8: Things happen to him on that spaceship.
- 29:41Speaker 4: She hasn't really aged much.
- 29:43Speaker 10: Larger.
- 29:44Speaker 4: It looks good there.
- 29:49Speaker 11: She looks so much better. Like she's normally so gaunt. Skeletor.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Stone's so.
- 30:00Speaker 4: I got my Legos. I don't need your stupid golden
- 30:03Speaker 4: whatever Legos. And rounding out the category.
- 30:09Speaker 9: She's totally won this.
- 30:11Speaker 11: Well, no.
- 30:13Speaker 4: I don't think so. I think it's like we've got four.
- 30:15Speaker 4: We've got a whole, I don't know, what the hell
- 30:17Speaker 4: did Meryl Streep make this year? Good enough. Throw it
- 30:19Speaker 4: in there.
- 30:20Speaker 9: Yeah, I think she's winning this.
- 30:23Speaker 8: She's got it.
- 30:24Speaker 10: I think it's one of the first two. It was
- 30:27Speaker 10: sort of neck and neck for those. I think it's Patricia, really.
- 30:30Speaker 11: I've learned not to underestimate Stevenson all the time.
- 30:34Speaker 9: You really think Patricia?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Patricia is kind of the front runner.
- 30:37Speaker 9: And the Oscar goes to Patricia Arquette.
- 30:42Speaker 6: Wow.
- 30:42Speaker 9: Good call.
- 30:43Speaker 6: And her one big boob.
- 30:48Speaker 9: You know, it's crazy, because like I said earlier, you
- 30:49Speaker 9: can go back and watch Lost Highway. Man, that girl
- 30:53Speaker 9: was smoking hot back then.
- 30:54Speaker 8: True romance?
- 30:54Speaker 4: True romance.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Oh, right, right, right.
- 31:00Speaker 4: It's just now she grew up and now she's mom.
- 31:03Speaker 4: She really is. She just looks like she's not bad.
- 31:06Speaker 4: She just looks like somebody's mom.
- 31:08Speaker 9: It's just odd to look at her now and be like,
- 31:09Speaker 9: God damn, I used to like eye rape you.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 31:13Speaker 9: She even pulled out the mom glasses. Wow.
- 31:16Speaker 10: If she didn't have to wear this fancy dress, she'd
- 31:17Speaker 10: have mom jeans. She's a good actress. I can't knock it.
- 31:26Speaker 10: She was great in that. I think Ethan was really good, too,
- 31:31Speaker 10: but he's probably not. It's such a weird political game.
- 31:34Speaker 10: It really is. Yeah. What?
- 31:40Speaker 9: Did she just thank her favorite painter?
- 31:44Speaker 13: That's true.
- 31:47Speaker 4: At least she's grateful. That wouldn't go that far.
- 31:51Speaker 10: I mean.
- 31:53Speaker 9: Can't we keep it relevant, though? I mean, you won
- 31:57Speaker 9: an award for a part in a movie. It doesn't
- 31:59Speaker 9: mean you have to thank everyone that ever helped you
- 32:02Speaker 9: in your entire life.
- 32:04Speaker 4: This is your time.
- 32:07Speaker 11: Why are you judging what she's thinking?
- 32:09Speaker 10: I'd rather them thank people that inspired them, like their
- 32:13Speaker 10: favorite painter, than when they get weirdly political or they
- 32:15Speaker 10: just start rambling about shit.
- 32:17Speaker 11: Meanwhile, Ethan Hawke looks old as fuck.
- 32:19Speaker 8: He does look old as fuck.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Bring it on down to Oscarville.
- 32:25Speaker 11: Bring it on down to Oscarville.
- 32:26Speaker 4: At least get on there so we can bring that
- 32:28Speaker 4: back in.
- 32:28Speaker 8: Bring it on down to Oscarville.
- 32:29Speaker 4: There we go. Now we can play us back in.
- 32:32Speaker 6: All right.
- 32:34Speaker 4: The most impressive director in a 2014 film.
- 32:38Speaker 10: The other nominees here, Richard Linklater, which, again, totally deserves it.
- 32:44Speaker 10: This one, again, getting no credit for this movie. Doug
- 32:47Speaker 10: Liman directed Day After Tomorrow. For what he had to do,
- 32:53Speaker 10: to have orchestrated all of that and make it work
- 32:57Speaker 10: as good as it does, he needs to get a
- 33:00Speaker 10: little more credit than he does this year.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Let's see. Jeremy Sunye for Blue Ruin, which I have
- 33:07Speaker 4: heard nothing but good things about. Super indie, kind of
- 33:11Speaker 4: awesome revenge movie.
- 33:13Speaker 10: The Russo Brothers for Winter Soldier. But again, by far,
- 33:17Speaker 10: the winner is James Gunn.
- 33:20Speaker 4: And again, if I have to, I can't argue.
- 33:23Speaker 10: If ever there's like a geek that has done good
- 33:26Speaker 10: and gone to the major leagues, James Gunn, he kind
- 33:30Speaker 10: of knocked.
- 33:31Speaker 4: It out of the park on that one.
- 33:32Speaker 9: Tonight on this stage, we have come together to celebrate
- 33:36Speaker 9: and hopefully to fall in love with moving pictures all
- 33:39Speaker 9: over again.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Okay, maybe....
- 33:48Speaker 9: Maybe not Smurfs 2.
- 33:51Speaker 2: The script read funny.
- 33:55Speaker 8: Oh, he's so fucking cute.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Oh, love you, MPH.
- 33:59Speaker 10: See, I'm going to fight the urge to call him
- 34:02Speaker 10: the D word because it's too easy at this point.
- 34:04Speaker 10: So I'm just going to, I mean, his whole career,
- 34:07Speaker 10: it's haunted him. So I'm just going to refer to
- 34:10Speaker 10: him as that guy.
- 34:11Speaker 4: The dude? I'm going to call him the guy from
- 34:13Speaker 4: Starship Troopers.
- 34:15Speaker 8: He was really good in Starship Troopers.
- 34:16Speaker 4: He's really good in Starship Troopers.
- 34:17Speaker 8: He's good as a psychic.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I want to call him the guy from American Horror Story.
- 34:21Speaker 8: I need to watch that one, but what's the best season?
- 34:25Speaker 2: That's a good question because I don't love the show,
- 34:28Speaker 2: but I have watched a couple of seasons. Watch four.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Just watch four. That's the one with Neil Patrick Harris
- 34:35Speaker 2: in it.
- 34:35Speaker 10: I don't know, though.
- 34:37Speaker 11: If you watch season four, you're just going to get heartbroken.
- 34:40Speaker 12: All the people you love die.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Spoiler.
- 34:43Speaker 11: Well, I'm just saying.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It's an American Horror Story.
- 34:46Speaker 11: What do you expect? They're not allowing John Travolta to
- 34:50Speaker 11: announce anything this year, are they? I mean, after last year.
- 34:53Speaker 4: After last year. I'm oblivious.
- 34:55Speaker 11: He butchered Idina Menzel's name, called her Adele Dazeem.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Same thing, right?
- 35:02Speaker 12: I mean, she's only like the most highly sought after
- 35:06Speaker 12: Broadway star.
- 35:07Speaker 9: Well, maybe if she would have an English name, that
- 35:10Speaker 9: should be okay.
- 35:11Speaker 4: In Hollywood, they don't acknowledge Broadway.
- 35:14Speaker 10: They did.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Come on now. Just saying.
- 35:17Speaker 10: In Hollywood, that's like seven steps down. They're like, I mean,
- 35:20Speaker 10: I guess some people.
- 35:22Speaker 11: I mean, we can talk about Hugh Jackman's Broadway boy.
- 35:26Speaker 4: They all kind of are eventually.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I love that all the women hosts are towering over
- 35:31Speaker 2: all of the.
- 35:31Speaker 11: People that they're interviewing.
- 35:33Speaker 9: Is Kevin Hart.
- 35:34Speaker 4: He is pretty little.
- 35:35Speaker 9: Danny Ato would tower over him.
- 35:36Speaker 11: I think they're choosing the people that they're going to interview.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Like, hey, you.
- 35:41Speaker 11: They're going to look for Dustin Hoffman soon. They should sign.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I think Kevin Hart's the only person that's ever been
- 35:48Speaker 2: on both Monday Night Raw and the Oscars in the
- 35:51Speaker 2: same six-month period.
- 35:53Speaker 9: He looks nothing like Kanye West.
- 35:54Speaker 4: He might be, right?
- 35:55Speaker 9: No, he really doesn't.
- 35:56Speaker 2: You're racist.
- 35:57Speaker 10: I'm a rapist.
- 35:59Speaker 9: I said racist.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I don't like either of these.
- 36:02Speaker 9: Maybe a rapist, too.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 36:04Speaker 9: Do you think Kanye's sexy?
- 36:07Speaker 4: It doesn't matter.
- 36:08Speaker 11: Kanye thinks Kanye is sexy.
- 36:10Speaker 10: I love you more than Kanye does now.
- 36:15Speaker 11: Treat your girl how Kanye would treat Kanye.
- 36:17Speaker 2: That's some nasty-ass fucking wet, gross carpet right there. You
- 36:22Speaker 2: ever walked on wet carpet? It's gross. I'm about to
- 36:27Speaker 2: throw up thinking about walking on wet carpet.
- 36:30Speaker 4: What'd you like? We can hose down this rug.
- 36:34Speaker 2: He is throwing up. Good podcast audio.
- 36:37Speaker 4: I didn't say you got to do it on the mic.
- 36:39Speaker 6: No.
- 36:39Speaker 2: If I'm going to throw up and I'm holding a mic,
- 36:42Speaker 2: I'm going to throw up into the mic.
- 36:43Speaker 4: You're doing it wrong.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I'm a professional, goddammit. I record everything.
- 36:50Speaker 4: That's true. Is she wearing a witch hat behind her
- 36:54Speaker 4: over there? Oh, I see it.
- 36:57Speaker 2: There's a woman with a witch hat at the Oscars.
- 36:59Speaker 4: It's like, what kind of Halloween party is this?
- 37:03Speaker 11: She's waiting for the house to land on her.
- 37:05Speaker 4: We all are. Cut to the witch. Cut to the witch.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Is Melanie Griffith stoned?
- 37:14Speaker 4: I think so.
- 37:15Speaker 8: I read the book and I don't want to see
- 37:16Speaker 8: a thumb in your asshole.
- 37:20Speaker 4: She's got one right now. What are you talking about?
- 37:21Speaker 4: That's why she's standing so awkwardly on the red carpet. Wow.
- 37:24Speaker 8: Don't take your mom to the Oscars.
- 37:29Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Yeah, she's her daughter.
- 37:31Speaker 11: I did not realize that.
- 37:32Speaker 8: My mom was a slut in tons of movies.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I love watching families fight on the red carpet.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Where's Tippi Hedren now? Get her out of here.
- 37:39Speaker 11: It's like, Mom, I'm going to steal your swag bag
- 37:41Speaker 11: later when we get out of this. The regeneration thing out.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 37:45Speaker 11: Look, she's pissed. She's pissed. I'm going to grin through this.
- 37:52Speaker 8: I'm going into hardcore porn, apparently.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Whatever, Mom.
- 37:54Speaker 11: I got fucked on screen. I'm making millions.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Fuck it.
- 37:58Speaker 9: That dude has the worst bangs.
- 38:00Speaker 8: He's got the worst bangs ever.
- 38:01Speaker 9: The worst bangs ever. Oh my God, what is going
- 38:04Speaker 9: on with his hair? That's painful.
- 38:10Speaker 10: What hair doesn't look awkward, does it?
- 38:13Speaker 2: Is that Ripley's Believe It or Not across the street
- 38:15Speaker 2: from the Oscars open on Oscar Day? Like, fuck, we
- 38:19Speaker 2: couldn't find a place to park. We just want to
- 38:21Speaker 2: go to the goddamn museum and these goddamn Oscars are everywhere.
- 38:24Speaker 11: Just want to see some shrunken heads.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I want to see the dude with the long curly
- 38:28Speaker 2: fingernails and this fucking John Travolta's on the red carpet.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Ruining my goddamn day.
- 38:34Speaker 9: I still think that her and Keira Knightley have penises.
- 38:37Speaker 11: I just know that Keira Knightley has my penis.
- 38:42Speaker 4: She's okay with it.
- 38:44Speaker 9: Yeah, as the pictures have proven.
- 38:47Speaker 4: I know. I just gave her credit for that on
- 38:50Speaker 4: a recent episode.
- 38:50Speaker 10: She's awesome because she's like, I don't care what you do,
- 38:53Speaker 10: just don't CG me.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Just don't airbrush shit on there that ain't mine.
- 38:57Speaker 9: Now if we can just get Kate Winslet to do that.
- 39:00Speaker 4: That ain't going to happen.
- 39:01Speaker 9: She used to be the big, she got furious about
- 39:05Speaker 9: getting Photoshopped too.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but she will get naked in any movie she's in.
- 39:09Speaker 4: It's like a kid's movie.
- 39:10Speaker 11: I'll get Kate Winslet naked any day.
- 39:13Speaker 9: No problem being one of those French women.
- 39:15Speaker 4: She did not shy away from that in every movie.
- 39:20Speaker 9: I remember working at the theater when that came out
- 39:21Speaker 9: and so many people left her in that scene.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Old people.
- 39:24Speaker 9: Old people were really offended by that scene and left
- 39:27Speaker 9: when she was naked and he was drawing her. I
- 39:28Speaker 9: was like, it's nice. even, you didn't even get to
- 39:31Speaker 9: wonder having sex. I mean, that was just, that was
- 39:33Speaker 9: actually very artsy, not sexual. It was much more sexual
- 39:36Speaker 9: in the car later.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Have you heard the new theory?
- 39:40Speaker 5: We need to.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Maybe we'll put that off for later.
- 39:42Speaker 11: That they could have both been on the door?
- 39:44Speaker 4: Well, no. I've heard that one for years. If Kate
- 39:48Speaker 4: would have moved her ass over, we'd be fine. But no.
- 39:52Speaker 10: No, there is one that just showed up on the
- 39:54Speaker 10: internet the other day. Basically, it's kind of the Ferris
- 40:02Speaker 10: Fight Club idea again.
- 40:03Speaker 4: What if there was no Jack?
- 40:07Speaker 10: Because when she sees him for the first time, you
- 40:10Speaker 10: realize she's suicidal and hanging off the side of a boat.
- 40:13Speaker 6: Right.
- 40:13Speaker 10: So is it something in her head that kind of
- 40:15Speaker 10: snapped and is using that as a tool to save
- 40:19Speaker 10: her life and not let her kill herself? So she
- 40:22Speaker 10: manifests this person because he just magically shows up when
- 40:27Speaker 10: she's suicidal. He's the exact opposite in every way of
- 40:30Speaker 10: her jackass fiance.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Right.
- 40:34Speaker 6: And.
- 40:35Speaker 10: On top of that, I was like, yeah, yeah, whatever.
- 40:37Speaker 10: I hear this with movies all the time. But you
- 40:39Speaker 10: get to the bottom of this thing and it gives
- 40:40Speaker 10: the exact description that she gives as an old lady
- 40:44Speaker 10: when they're like, there's no record of a Jack on
- 40:46Speaker 10: the books of the titans. She's like, no, I guess
- 40:49Speaker 10: there wouldn't be. He exists only in my mind. I
- 40:52Speaker 10: don't even have a picture of him.
- 40:54Speaker 9: She says that?
- 40:55Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right. And I'm like, okay, wait, you might
- 40:59Speaker 4: have a point now.
- 41:00Speaker 8: Okay.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Everything about it, like at the end, she's just like,
- 41:04Speaker 4: he existed only in my mind.
- 41:06Speaker 10: Oh, wow.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Crazy old bitch. She does go into.
- 41:09Speaker 8: That in the movie because then there's the whole theory
- 41:12Speaker 8: that he.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Didn't really exist.
- 41:14Speaker 11: It's been a figment of her imagination.
- 41:15Speaker 12: Some illusion she came up with to make herself feel
- 41:19Speaker 12: that way.
- 41:19Speaker 4: In addition to the fact that she lied, she's kind
- 41:23Speaker 4: of a slut. Anyway. It's my favorite side book.
- 41:26Speaker 9: I remember before even hearing that theory, I worked at
- 41:28Speaker 9: the theater when the movie was out for over a
- 41:31Speaker 9: year because that movie was in theaters for over a year.
- 41:34Speaker 4: And that was pretty much the last time that ever happened.
- 41:37Speaker 9: And I remember when you have to deal with that
- 41:39Speaker 9: movie for that long, you get so many fucking arguments
- 41:42Speaker 9: about it. And my main gripe with that movie was
- 41:46Speaker 9: the woman went on to have a family and children
- 41:50Speaker 9: and grandchildren. Yet she, when she dies that last scene,
- 41:55Speaker 9: she goes back to the fling she had for two
- 41:57Speaker 9: or three days on a boat. You had a husband
- 42:00Speaker 9: and had children, and they had children, but who do
- 42:03Speaker 9: you go to in heaven? The guy you nailed on
- 42:06Speaker 9: a boat.
- 42:07Speaker 4: I wanted that guy boned on a boat one time.
- 42:10Speaker 9: Apparently he was the Titanic. Celine Dion can.
- 42:13Speaker 11: Just do that to you.
- 42:14Speaker 8: Every night in my dreams.
- 42:27Speaker 7: I just want to be Kelly Osbourne on the E!
- 42:31Speaker 8: Network in critique fashion.
- 42:34Speaker 7: That's what I want to do with my life.
- 42:54Speaker 12: Since Joan Rivers is dead now, I just want to be, like,
- 42:58Speaker 12: akin to Kelly Osbourne.
- 42:59Speaker 4: You have to take over. That's what we're doing. That's
- 43:02Speaker 4: what I want to do.
- 43:02Speaker 11: That's what I want to do with my life, just
- 43:04Speaker 11: critique the fashion.
- 43:05Speaker 4: I'm trying to get that going.
- 43:06Speaker 9: Oh, those pants, though.
- 43:07Speaker 4: We can get your foot in the door on this.
- 43:08Speaker 9: Look at those pants.
- 43:10Speaker 11: Yeah, she looks good.
- 43:11Speaker 4: She is a Wes Anderson character.
- 43:13Speaker 11: Annie Lennox called. Oh, my gosh, yes.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Although she was on the other night. You saw her, right?
- 43:20Speaker 11: Did you see her performance?
- 43:22Speaker 4: She's awesome, but I was like, when did she.
- 43:25Speaker 9: What was her look?
- 43:27Speaker 4: Because she turned into... When.
- 43:28Speaker 11: Did she turn into, like, she-devil.
- 43:32Speaker 4: No, she was always she-devil. No.
- 43:35Speaker 11: I just kind of want to be like, hey, girl, hey.
- 43:38Speaker 4: I can see that.
- 43:39Speaker 11: She's a vampire. Is Kathy Race had a hot point?
- 43:50Speaker 4: Hotter. You can't get much hotter than Kathy Bates.
- 43:58Speaker 12: Kathy Bates circa now or circa American Horror Story?
- 44:02Speaker 4: Either way.
- 44:03Speaker 11: Season three or four?
- 44:05Speaker 2: At one point they were much younger than they are now.
- 44:08Speaker 4: I'm just thinking her in the hot tub scene.
- 44:10Speaker 11: Yeah. J-Lo's nip just pops out. Wes Anderson is tweeting
- 44:15Speaker 11: about this on his typewriter.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Hashtag. I knew it. They're a schematic of the Death
- 44:26Speaker 4: Star on the stage.
- 44:27Speaker 11: I know.
- 44:28Speaker 4: And this is where you head in. We've got to
- 44:30Speaker 4: hit the thermal port.
- 44:31Speaker 9: And you don't want to see part two with Childish Gambino.
- 44:34Speaker 11: It's Childish Gambino, isn't it?
- 44:35Speaker 9: It's going to be in Magic Mike part two.
- 44:38Speaker 11: That makes me sad for him because he's better than
- 44:40Speaker 11: that shit.
- 44:41Speaker 4: He kind of is.
- 44:43Speaker 9: Way better than Lazarus Effect, too, though, on that note.
- 44:45Speaker 11: I still want to see Lazarus Effect, though. Gambino and
- 44:48Speaker 11: Evan Peterson, I want to see it.
- 44:49Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Sorry, Lazarus. Because we haven't already seen Flatliners. That's what
- 44:55Speaker 4: I said when.
- 44:55Speaker 11: The trailer came out.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Flatliners reboot.
- 45:01Speaker 8: Next category.
- 45:03Speaker 6: All right.
- 45:04Speaker 4: We're losing people. They're dropping.
- 45:05Speaker 9: We're losing people.
- 45:06Speaker 4: I already clubbed Michael with a foiler. He's dead now. Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 10: That's why you haven't heard him in a while. We
- 45:13Speaker 10: had to take him out, so we're losing people. So,
- 45:16Speaker 10: this one I just broke up. I gave people their
- 45:19Speaker 10: option of your favorite, what you would consider to be
- 45:22Speaker 10: a mainstream movie.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Again, the other nominee is The Lego Movie, which is awesome.
- 45:28Speaker 4: After Tomorrow, awesome. Birdman, Interstellar, but we all know it's
- 45:33Speaker 4: Guardians of the Galaxy. The winner is Guardians, by far.
- 45:37Speaker 9: You kind of own 2014.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Everybody, yeah, everybody kind of was on board with that.
- 45:41Speaker 10: This one, again, that's why I leave it up to
- 45:44Speaker 10: the person to decide, because a lot of these, it
- 45:48Speaker 10: becomes a weird dividing line now, what you want to
- 45:51Speaker 10: consider indie, because the other one is your favorite indie,
- 45:56Speaker 10: what you would consider to be an indie film for 2015.
- 46:01Speaker 10: Our options are Begin Again, Citizen Four, which is at
- 46:05Speaker 10: least an indie film, Nightcrawler, Stretch, We Still Kill the
- 46:10Speaker 10: Old Way, Dead Snow 2, or at least that one's Indy,
- 46:15Speaker 10: Jodorowsky's Dune, Cold in July, Inherit Vice, and Birdman.
- 46:20Speaker 9: Some of those were not Indy at all.
- 46:24Speaker 4: And the winner, again, most of these, it's arguably, why
- 46:28Speaker 4: leave it up to the, oh, they're kicking up the birdies.
- 46:30Speaker 4: And the winner is Jodorowsky's Dune. So there's our rundown.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Finish the categories. That means it's time for dessert. You
- 46:40Speaker 4: know it's coming. What's dessert? Bacon dessert? You know you
- 46:44Speaker 4: love the crack. Don't pretend like you don't love the crack.
- 46:49Speaker 8: I'll give you some crack.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Let's bust it out.
- 46:51Speaker 9: It's really crack for dessert.
- 46:56Speaker 13: It's pretty good, but it's very fatty.
- 47:00Speaker 6: It's hard not to feel that emptiness.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Okay, Karen, we're rounding this thing out.
- 47:06Speaker 11: Okay.
- 47:06Speaker 10: Most people have wandered off. David is sleepy and he
- 47:10Speaker 10: went home.
- 47:11Speaker 11: I've definitely fallen asleep a couple times.
- 47:12Speaker 10: She's dozed a few times. She woke up to play
- 47:14Speaker 10: with Babe and get some pastry crack because, again, it's
- 47:19Speaker 10: a tradition. We have to have the pastry cracked to
- 47:21Speaker 10: round this thing out. So we're all cracked up on
- 47:24Speaker 10: sugar and that's good because I have to drive home.
- 47:26Speaker 10: So we'd like to thank you for once again joining
- 47:29Speaker 10: us on this year's annual ridiculous tradition of Oscar Meltdown
- 47:35Speaker 10: and for partaking in the foilers. Any parting words, Karen?
- 47:42Speaker 10: What are your thoughts on the films of 2014?
- 47:45Speaker 4: I really haven't.
- 47:46Speaker 11: Seen any of them this year. I was slacking this year.
- 47:49Speaker 10: That's why this awesome list that we've assembled for you,
- 47:53Speaker 10: you just were making a list. I assigned like three
- 47:56Speaker 10: today before you left.
- 47:56Speaker 11: I know. I really need to watch them.
- 48:00Speaker 10: Don't worry, I got them all off Redbox.
- 48:03Speaker 9: Yes, he bought them right away.
- 48:06Speaker 10: He went to a store and bought them on Blu-ray
- 48:08Speaker 10: while we were having pastry crack.
- 48:10Speaker 9: Support your local video stores. Oh, wait, most of those
- 48:13Speaker 9: are gone.
- 48:14Speaker 10: All right, well, hopefully everyone has found movies that they
- 48:17Speaker 10: loved or now need to see, like all the ones
- 48:19Speaker 10: I just gave for Dave to watch.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Are you dying?
- 48:23Speaker 10: All right, it's like 3 in the morning now, and
- 48:31Speaker 10: Oscar time.
- 48:32Speaker 9: We better get the hell out of here. Otherwise, that
- 48:34Speaker 9: about does it. We will return next time.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Same geek feed.
- 48:36Speaker 10: Thanks for listening.
- 48:37Speaker 11: The Skrillex might be too rowdy for this audience.
- 48:55Speaker 14: I could watch you for a lifetime You're my favorite
- 49:00Speaker 14: movie I never knew what's coming. Forever fascinating. Hope you
- 49:16Speaker 14: don't stop running to make us all.
- 49:20Speaker 7: You are my cinema, I could watch you forever. Action, thriller,
- 49:26Speaker 7: I could watch you forever.
- 49:42Speaker 7: .
- 49:43Speaker 8: .
- 49:58Speaker 15: .
- 49:59Speaker 2: .
- 50:00Speaker 7: .
- 50:08Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 50:55Speaker 14: Thank you for watching.
