A 50-year-old man, Jason Dale Bailey, died in custody at the Johnson County Jail after being arrested for suspected DWI. Staff noticed he was unresponsive during a routine health check and called for an AED — but he couldn’t be revived. The autopsy is underway, and multiple agencies, including Texas Rangers and the state jail standards board, are launching investigations.
