- 2:22That's S -A -C -B -R -I -E -F at Strong Coffee
- 2:26Company. If you live or work in South Sacramento,
- 2:31there's a flood control project you may want
- 2:35to weigh in on. The Sacramento Area Flood Control
- 2:38Agency is proposing an improvement to roughly
- 2:41three miles of Morrison Creek and Beach Lake
- 2:45levees. The proposal includes raising portions
- 2:48of the existing levees, replacing and adding
- 2:51flood walls, flattening some levee slopes, and
- 2:55making additional improvements designed to strengthen
- 2:57the system. Morrison Creek is part of a larger
- 3:00South Sacramento stream system, along with elder
- 3:03flooring. and Union House Creeks. Together, those
- 3:07waterways and levees help protect neighborhoods
- 3:10from flooding caused by heavy runoff and high
- 3:13water. Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency has
- 3:17released an environmental study for the project
- 3:21and is accepting public comments through September
- 3:247th. Comments must be received by 5 p .m. that
- 3:27day. The Flood Control Agency Board is expected
- 3:30to consider the environmental document at its
- 3:33September 17th public meeting. And before we
- 3:39move on, I want to share something a little personal.
- 3:41After an accident affected how much I'm able
- 3:44to work, I have fallen behind financially and
- 3:48I've started a GoFundMe to help me catch up.
