  Speaker 1: prayer to be able to have the Holy Spirit be

  Speaker 1: able to speak through this mic and go through the

  Speaker 1: listener's ears and be able to reach their hearts and

  Speaker 1: minds and be able to apply these verses to their lives.

  Speaker 2: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.

  Speaker 1: First take, I'm looking at this beautiful moon. We're going
• 0:29
  Speaker 1: to be in Mark chapter 5. It is so beautiful

  Speaker 1: as I record this. I'm walking with my brother. Going
• 0:37
  Speaker 1: through the wilderness season. Of my journey with Christ. And
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: everything is more than alright. Because this is my perspective now.

  Speaker 1: Being over two years. In a program as well.

  Speaker 2: As.

  Speaker 1: It does not need to be anonymous here. But it

  Speaker 1: is definitely AA. And Celebrate Recovery. As well as.

  Speaker 2: Doing these. Episodes. Is a part of my recovery. So.

  Speaker 2: It's an amazing. Journey to be on that. I have

  Speaker 2: found myself. You know. And this is nice to go

  Speaker 2: through this. And. Not be afraid. Can't be afraid. Because

  Speaker 2: that's a choice. Alright let's get into it. I think.

  Speaker 2: I'm going a little too much deep into something else.

  Speaker 1: So, Mark chapter 5. Jesus sends a man's many bad
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: spirits into pigs.

  Speaker 2: Verse 1.

  Speaker 1: Jesus and his disciples arrived at the other side of
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: the lake. They came to a place where the Jernison
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: people lived. Jesus said, got out of the boat immediately.

  Speaker 1: A man with a bad spirit in him came to him.
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: This man lived outside among some graves. He was very strong.

  Speaker 1: Nobody could hold him. People often put chains around his... Sorry,

  Speaker 1: I'm trying to walk and I can't see.

  Speaker 2: It's dark over the walk. give me one second.

  Speaker 1: So again Mark chapter 5 we are and if you

  Speaker 1: would like to grab your Bibles or get on your

  Speaker 1: Bible up and read along as you hear along verse

  Speaker 1: 2 through 4 Jesus got out the boat immediately a
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: man with a bad spirit in him came to him
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: this man lived outside among some graves he was very
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: strong and nobody could hold him People often put chains
• 3:01
  Speaker 1: around his hands and.
• 3:04
  Speaker 2: His feet to hold him.
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: They wanted to keep him in a safe place, but
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: he broke the chains that held him.
• 3:11
  Speaker 2: Verse 5.

  Speaker 1: The man often walked in the places where the graves
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: were and.
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: On the hills.
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: Every day and every night he screamed and he used
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: stones to cut himself. Like, think about the depression that
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: he was going through to be able to, you know,
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: and that's, that's where it's, the choices have to be
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: made a lot more wiser when you're going through these
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: depression periods. Because you can, I know from experience, you know,
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: being on the other side and having depression and having
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: anxiety and having to chase that.
• 3:57
  Speaker 2: That next prescription. Or chase that. That next. Binge night.

  Speaker 2: That next. Oh I got enough to get a couple beers.
• 4:08
  Speaker 2: You know. And living that lifestyle for so long. You know. Being.
• 4:15
  Speaker 2: On the other side of this. By being. A sinner.
• 4:23
  Speaker 2: Just like we all are. As I. Continue on this. Walk.
• 4:28
  Speaker 2: Tonight I just want to. Let you know that you're
• 4:32
  Speaker 2: not alone.
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: And.
• 4:35
  Speaker 2: Even when you feel alone. You don't have to be lonely.
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: Alright let's go a little deeper. Okay. Verse 6. The
• 4:42
  Speaker 2: man saw Jesus. A long way. Away.
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: And he ran to meet him. He went down. On
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: his knees in front of Jesus. He screamed loudly.
• 4:53
  Speaker 2: Jesus. You are the son of the most high God.
• 4:58
  Speaker 2: What are you doing here?
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: Please promise God that you will not hurt me. He
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: said that because Jesus has already said to the bad spirit,
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: come out of this man. Then Jesus asked the man,
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: what is your name? The man replied, my name is
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: Army because we are many bad spirits here. Verse 10,
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: he said to Jesus many times, Please do not send
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: those bad spirits away from this place.
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: Verse 11.
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: A large group of pigs were eating on the hill.
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: The bad spirits said, Jesus, send us to the pigs.
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: Let us go into them. Jesus, let them do this.
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: So the bad spirits came out.
• 5:44
  Speaker 2: Of the man.
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: And they went into the pigs that were about 2,000 pigs.
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: They rushed together down the hill into the lake. killing
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: themselves drowning themselves all the pigs died there in the water.

  Speaker 2: So imagine this scene like i'm.
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: Very much a visualizer so i can i can put
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: these stories and it's interesting how it's almost like i
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: can play a movie a movie in my.
• 6:16
  Speaker 2: Head and it's so vivid you know like the spirit's
• 6:24
  Speaker 2: And it's not like something.
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: You could see. It's the energies that the human eye
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: cannot see. Go out of this man's body. And go
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: into pigs.
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: And then watch these pigs go down. And jump into
• 6:41
  Speaker 2: the lake. It's just kind of remarkable when you really
• 6:47
  Speaker 2: think about it. So as I continue to not be distracted.
• 6:54
  Speaker 2: By the noise.
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: No matter if I'm. Recording a podcast. Talking to somebody.

  Speaker 2: Maintaining. The focus on what is at. Hand.

  Speaker 1: It's so amazing to be. In this state of mind.
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: Through everything that I've been through. The past 22 years.
• 7:33
  Speaker 2: Of my life. There was plenty of years. As a
• 7:39
  Speaker 2: kid I had. I was full of ambition. And full
• 7:45
  Speaker 2: of life. You know. But having.
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: These spirits. Tag along with me. As I started to
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: grow up. And it's just very interesting how God really
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: works once you really give it over. And how much
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: nothing can break you. Because you've already been broken by God.
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: Having the Holy Spirit come in, crack into that dark
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: soul that we all have, right? I'm just going to
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: go off right here. We're going to go on 15.
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: They came to Jesus. They saw the man that the
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: army of bad spirits had ruled. He was now sitting
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: there quietly. He was wearing clothes and his mind was
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: well again. When the people saw this, they were afraid.
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: Of course they were afraid. They saw the miracle. And
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: they also seen and heard the spirit say, or the spirits,
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: I'm sorry, let me say, let me rephrase that, to
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: allow us to go into the pigs.
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: And then into a lake. It's interesting. It's interesting.
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: How many times do we ask Jesus or God, however
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: you pray, I want to speak for all of us
• 9:21
  Speaker 1: Because I'm tired of being divided. I'm tired of being
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: financially divided. Spiritually divided. Different cliques. Different groups.
• 9:32
  Speaker 2: Like, no.
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: I've always been kind of that rebel in that sense.
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: To break up things that aren't really beneficial for certain people.
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: And I've even considered making a business of it.
• 9:49
  Speaker 2: Because.
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: At the end of the day, love is not supposed
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: to be comfortable all the time. Love is also going
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: to be guiding. It's going to be protection. It's going
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: to be overthinking. It's going to.
• 10:01
  Speaker 2: Be a lot of different things.
• 10:05
  Speaker 1: I don't need to keep going because I don't want
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: to make this all about where I'm at completely.
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: And even though this refers to.
• 10:19
  Speaker 1: that Jesus went through everything that we have already gone through.
• 10:28
  Speaker 1: And the way that he goes before and makes a way,
• 10:32
  Speaker 1: I've not only seen it, I've witnessed it in my
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: own life. And that's why I do not worry as
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: much these days. I just pray and I go about
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: my day And whatever finds me is sent by God.
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: It's either going to be a lesson or a blessing. Regardless,
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: they both still hold the same amount of value. My pain,
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: God can use it for something else. My heartbreak can
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: be used for something else. More motivation. It's how people
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: mishandle the hurt because hurt's going to come.
• 11:30
  Speaker 2: It's a part of life. There's no way around it.
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: Having that Holy Spirit, right, if I have three minutes
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: to go, it gives that extra comfort because a lot
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: of the times when we're bored, we're lonely, it's truthfully
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: because we're not connected to the Holy Spirit. We're connected
• 11:51
  Speaker 1: to the last person we were talking to. We're connected
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: to the last meeting that we were in. We talk about,
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: you know, speaking things. And there's one thing to say
• 12:08
  Speaker 1: you're committed, but you're not committed, you know. And forgiveness
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: is not only essential. Because we're all going to mess up.
• 12:24
  Speaker 2: But. It's more being. Loyal. Even on the days where
• 12:35
  Speaker 2: you don't want each other. And I want.
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: A person that's listening to this to know that. You
• 12:44
  Speaker 1: do have the capability of being loved. You have to
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: allow not just a significant other come into that heart
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: that you put all these guards up and these boards
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: and you have to allow the Holy Spirit to get
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: in there and do what you can't do. You can't
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: suppress it anymore by drinking and using or prescriptions or
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: you know I could go down the list of bad
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: habits but I look at this moon as I walk
• 13:25
  Speaker 1: and get some good exercise I'm going to sleep good
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: tonight because I say God's will each and every morning
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: and even though I have not been perfect never claimed
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: to be these past two years I tell you what
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: I've learned the most and I feel the most free
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: And I know the best is yet to come for me.
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: And I want people to be a part of that.
• 13:59
  Speaker 1: And you, you will.

  Speaker 2: You are.
• 14:05
