- 0:19Speaker 1: Thank you for gathering with us today on our This
- 0:21Speaker 1: is the Life podcast getting ready for our morning moments
- 0:24Speaker 1: with Jesus. I didn't plan on doing a series this
- 0:28Speaker 1: week on what I call this nothing theme that we
- 0:31Speaker 1: were doing, but the Lord once again gives us another
- 0:34Speaker 1: truth to ponder on today. So been following us this week.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You have nothing to prove, you have nothing to hide,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and this morning the Lord talks to us about you
- 0:45Speaker 1: have nothing to fear. Because fear has a way of
- 0:48Speaker 1: making something that hasn't happened feel like as though it's
- 0:53Speaker 1: already happened. We can lie a week worrying about tomorrow
- 0:57Speaker 1: all the time, We can imagine conversations that have never
- 1:01Speaker 1: even taken place. Don't you know? Fear has a powerful
- 1:05Speaker 1: grip on us if we allow it to, because it
- 1:08Speaker 1: creates things that's not really even there and hasn't even
- 1:12Speaker 1: happened yet. You have problems that haven't even arrived. This morning,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you've got outcomes that have never even happened, but yet
- 1:19Speaker 1: they play over and over in your mind as though
- 1:21Speaker 1: they already have. And before we know it, we are
- 1:25Speaker 1: carrying the weight of a future that hasn't even happened yet.
- 1:28Speaker 1: We haven't even stepped into that future yet, But yet
- 1:32Speaker 1: it consumes so much of our mental capacity, which works
- 1:35Speaker 1: on our emotions, which affects our spiritual walk, which affects
- 1:39Speaker 1: us physically as well. God leads us this morning to Isaiah,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and he leads Isaiah to write this in Isaiah forty
- 1:47Speaker 1: one to ten when he says, fear thou not for
- 1:51Speaker 1: I am with THEE, be not dismayed for I am
- 1:56Speaker 1: thy God. I hope you hear that this morning, dismayed
- 2:00Speaker 1: for I am thy God, I will strengthen thee yeay,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I will help thee yay, I will uphold THEE with
- 2:11Speaker 1: the right hand of my righteousness. I want you to
- 2:14Speaker 1: notice this morning that God doesn't promise there will never
- 2:17Speaker 1: be anything frightening in front of us. There will be
- 2:21Speaker 1: things in life that concern us. But know this this morning.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Concern is not the same thing as fear. He promises
- 2:30Speaker 1: that whatever is in front of us, He will be
- 2:33Speaker 1: there with us. And that's the difference. Faith doesn't mean
- 2:37Speaker 1: we never feel afraid. Faith means that fear doesn't get
- 2:41Speaker 1: to make the decisions for us and lead us in
- 2:44Speaker 1: a direction that God does not want us to go.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Maybe you're facing something today that you don't understand. Perhaps
- 2:51Speaker 1: there's an uncertainty concerning your family, or your finances, or
- 2:54Speaker 1: your future, or decision you have to make. Maybe nothing
- 2:58Speaker 1: is actually wrong at the moment at all, but you
- 3:01Speaker 1: have this uneasy feeling that something could go wrong. That's
- 3:06Speaker 1: where we have to remember this morning, who is already
- 3:10Speaker 1: standing in our tomorrow. Not only is God with us
- 3:13Speaker 1: this morning, he is already in tomorrow. God says, I
- 3:17Speaker 1: will strengthen THEE when you don't feel strong enough. God is.
- 3:23Speaker 1: He says, I will help THEE when you don't know
- 3:25Speaker 1: what to do. God does, I will uphold THEE when
- 3:31Speaker 1: you feel like you're about to fall apart. His hand
- 3:35Speaker 1: is still holding you together. And I want you to
- 3:37Speaker 1: remember that all day long. We spend so much time
- 3:41Speaker 1: trying to eliminate every reason to be afraid, when perhaps
- 3:45Speaker 1: God is teaching us something even greater. He's trying to
- 3:48Speaker 1: teach us to trust him even when there is a
- 3:51Speaker 1: reason to be afraid. You don't have to know how
- 3:56Speaker 1: everything is going to work out. It's a good thing
- 3:58Speaker 1: we don't. You don't have to have every answer, You
- 4:02Speaker 1: don't have to see the entire road ahead of you
- 4:04Speaker 1: this morning. You just need to know who is here
- 4:08Speaker 1: with you right now. Set a day when fear whispers,
- 4:14Speaker 1: what if? Then let your faith answer. God will handle it.
- 4:22Speaker 1: There may be things that this morning that you don't understand.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I get that. There may be things that you cannot control.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You need to deal with that. You may there may
- 4:32Speaker 1: be things in your life that frighten you right now,
- 4:35Speaker 1: the uncertainty of what to do. But when God is
- 4:39Speaker 1: with you, you've got nothing to fear. Because the apostle
- 4:44Speaker 1: Paul writes in the Book of Romans, Chapter eight and
- 4:49Speaker 1: verse number thirty one, what shall we then say to
- 4:53Speaker 1: these things? If God be for us, who can be
- 4:58Speaker 1: against us? Before we go today, I want to invite
- 5:01Speaker 1: you to join me tomorrow for our front porch Fridays.
- 5:05Speaker 1: We'll slow things down, maybe share some thoughts and comments
- 5:08Speaker 1: and stories, and see what the Lord might teach us
- 5:11Speaker 1: from those that front porch view of life. I got
- 5:14Speaker 1: a letter not too long ago that I want to
- 5:17Speaker 1: try to read in the morning, and I think it
- 5:19Speaker 1: just blessed my heart. I pray it'll bless yours too.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So join me in the morning for our morning moments
- 5:23Speaker 1: with Jesus, and what we call our front porch Fridays. Today,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you be safe, you be strong, and you be blessed.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Lords will we will see you back here again tomorrow.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Have a great day.
