- 0:00I hate a wrong theory. I hate a wrong loud if you're.
- 0:02Gonna start a rumor, it better be true.
- 0:03Thank you. Like I want you to gag me.
- 0:05I wanna go online and I would be like I'm texting the group.
- 0:09Chat and I'm like. Leaking down on me.
- 0:12I love that. Honestly, that's I feel like you
- 0:14have been giving very rare takes that people have said on camera
- 0:18and on Mike unapologetically. And that's why I think you're
- 0:22also so successful. Thank you.
- 0:24Oh my God. Yeah, I know.
- 0:26I'm with it. Thank you.
- 0:27Welcome to do Lulu after dark. Hello, Delulu, and welcome back
- 0:49to Delulu with Ryan Liu, and a very warm welcome to our lovely,
- 0:54very special guest today. He is a singer-songwriter,
- 0:57actor, and actually an OG content creator who's been in
- 1:00the game for a really long time. And I really want to get into
- 1:03that with you because actually we're going to get into it.
- 1:06But please welcome extraordinaire performer Bryce
- 1:10Xavier. Hello.
- 1:12Thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 1:13Thank you for having me. OK, Bryce, I want to start by
- 1:16telling you a slight story. This is actually how we met.
- 1:19It's super cute. Do you remember?
- 1:21I I think I do. OK, because you, you and your
- 1:24boyfriend were like my saving grace.
- 1:26So I went to Vidcon for the first time last year.
- 1:30And I was I was walking in. I was walking in with your mom.
- 1:33And your mom was like, have you done Vidcon before?
- 1:35And I was like, this is my first time.
- 1:36And I was scared as fuck. I had never been invited.
- 1:38I was like a new content creator or something.
- 1:40So I was like, I have no idea what's going on.
- 1:42Everyone who's anyone is here. And it was scary.
- 1:45And then your mom was like, my son will be so like welcoming to
- 1:48you and warm to you. And I was like, okay, anything
- 1:51because I don't know a damn soul.
- 1:53And I don't know where my manager was at the time.
- 1:54And I was like puppy where I was like, okay, I'm going to go in.
- 1:58And then she we meet at the Instagram lounge and she
- 2:01introduces me to you. And literally to this day, I
- 2:03tell everyone this about you and MJ, your boyfriend.
- 2:06You both were so incredibly nice and welcoming, which is actually
- 2:10not that it should have been a shock to me, but it was a shock
- 2:12to me because you're both like so beautiful.
- 2:14I thought you're going to be like bitch ass bullies or
- 2:15something. But no really immediately so
- 2:19welcoming to me. And you really took me in and
- 2:21you made me feel welcomed and I was mad scared.
- 2:23And one thing about me is I do not get scared.
- 2:26I am a very fearless individual. But that environment girl, she's
- 2:29something. Influencers event that's that's
- 2:31the thing I tell people that all the time.
- 2:33Yes, yes, I'm like it's it's that's a different that's a
- 2:36different ballpark. Like it's a different vibe.
- 2:38Yeah, all yeah, no, I I remember it so well too Yeah and yeah no,
- 2:42it was it was so sweet. I forgot you were you were you
- 2:46were wearing shades. I think that I actually
- 2:48complimented that I like I was. Wearing shades and we were just
- 2:51talking about this before the show.
- 2:52They're your armor. Yes, got it, got it, got.
- 2:58It Why are you protecting yourself right now?
- 2:59Everyone shades. Right now, no, I'm protecting
- 3:01myself right now, but there's one I woke up with like the
- 3:04worst migraine ever this morning.
- 3:06Today I know I'm fine. I just when I wake up early, I
- 3:09feel like for some reason when it's really bright outside my
- 3:12like body is like caught off guard.
- 3:14I think I might be like vampire syndrome or something.
- 3:16Like that, you belong in like New York.
- 3:18Maybe honest you. Spent a lot of time this month
- 3:20in New York. True, true, true.
- 3:22I did. You did.
- 3:23You did. In the DCU, You had already.
- 3:26I did it. It's already been done.
- 3:28He winks by the way he's wearing shades.
- 3:30Oh my God. But you saw the wink.
- 3:31I saw the wing I how the. Hell, did you see the wing?
- 3:35I felt not armor enough, not protection.
- 3:37I gotta get darker. I get darker shades.
- 3:39Absolutely no. But you guys were so fucking.
- 3:42Yeah, no, it was. No, it was so good to be you.
- 3:44Also, this is one thing I'm going to say too as well.
- 3:47You also had the best energy and I feel like that's an easy thing
- 3:50to bounce off of when you you're also being so open to just
- 3:54having a great connection with someone and they're also in that
- 3:57same headspace as you also not coming in.
- 4:00Like I feel like there's so many people that feel the way that
- 4:02you do. So then they assume the way
- 4:05other people are going to treat them and then they start being
- 4:07that person. Like they start being the bitchy
- 4:09person, you know, But no, you like came in and you literally
- 4:11said exactly. You told me you're like, I don't
- 4:13know what the fuck is going on right now, but like, hi, hi.
- 4:16And you're like, hey. You guys are so sweet.
- 4:18Like I said, you were so accommodating to me and I really
- 4:20appreciate that because like I'm scared as fuck and actually I
- 4:23pinpoint it to both of you. Like if I didn't meet you guys
- 4:25immediately, probably of getting to Vidcon, I would be shitting
- 4:28myself the entire time because I think I found my footing.
- 4:30And then we ran into each other throughout the rest of the
- 4:32Vidcon out a bunch of different things.
- 4:33And you guys were always the fucking best.
- 4:37And your two friends were super sweet too.
- 4:39Hi. Yes.
- 4:40They were so sweet and everything was so cool and like,
- 4:43I really do appreciate that. And I honestly, you guys are
- 4:45like so much younger than me too.
- 4:46So for you to be like, for me to see you both be so confident and
- 4:50like own the space and just being in that environment.
- 4:52I mean, your mom said that you guys have been doing it for a
- 4:54really long time at that time. 10 years this year.
- 4:56Since I was 13 years. Yeah.
- 4:59I also thought we were the same age.
- 5:01No, we're not. Thank you though.
- 5:02Way. Let's tea.
- 5:03No, I love that I'm turning 29. I turned 29 in August.
- 5:08Oh shit. OK, wait, yeah, how's he
- 5:11belated? Thank you so much.
- 5:14I've got to come. OK, for context, Lulu, we are
- 5:19filming this in August. No, we're not.
- 5:21We got it. We got to give it to them.
- 5:23No, this is live and in action in September.
- 5:27We're This is being filmed today on the air date, which is
- 5:30September 18. +7 25 and. You just got back from your
- 5:40shows that you did in New York. Yes, and they were incredible.
- 5:43Yeah, it was. Yeah.
- 5:44It was so much fun. Fashion Week is always like my
- 5:48favorite time to be in New York in general, and I've been so
- 5:52privileged these last two years to have music opportunities
- 5:55there because. That a line too.
- 5:56Yeah, yeah. I feel like, I think the main
- 5:59thing that has been a little bit, I wouldn't say hard for me,
- 6:03but I'd say I'd have to have tactical thinking about is that
- 6:06because I do so many different things creatively for my
- 6:10business and what I do for work. And the fact that music has just
- 6:13been like really the main focus these last like 4 1/2 five
- 6:16years, that every opportunity that I feel like I used to just
- 6:19get like in the habit of doing. I'm more excited when music's
- 6:23involved now, you know? So going to Fashion Week every
- 6:27year is always phenomenal. It's amazing.
- 6:29Like, I love clothes, I love fashion, I love seeing my
- 6:31friends. Fashion icon.
- 6:33I love your style, notoriously. And I love how you dress
- 6:35yourself for events and everything where you're styling
- 6:37yourself. Yeah, you look incredible.
- 6:40Oh my God. Wait, can I ask you?
- 6:41So how was the Velocore show? It was so good.
- 6:46Yeah, yeah, yeah it. Wasn't it's a whimsical and
- 6:48romantic. So whimsical, so great, like.
- 6:50I wish I was there, but I'm so happy that you're able to.
- 6:53Yeah, yeah, no, it was such a great time.
- 6:55Definitely. Oh, my God, Yeah.
- 6:56I mean, that's one of my favorite brands.
- 6:58Yeah. So I'm jealous that you're able
- 7:00to go. What were all this shows that
- 7:02you saw that you loved? Tom Brown always says an amazing
- 7:06event, which was really great. Love seeing Tanner Fletcher.
- 7:09It's great to see them too as well.
- 7:11I saw their exhibit for the first time in last September and
- 7:16I got to meet the boys, which was so cool because they they're
- 7:18very just into the modern contemporary of it all mixing
- 7:21with street wear fashion of New York, which I think is such like
- 7:25a very interesting thing that like our generation is like
- 7:28brought back like wearing Jean shorts with like a tie, you
- 7:32know, and like a like a pillow. I.
- 7:34Feel like that's your uniform? It is, it is, it is.
- 7:36Am I wrong? No, no, Yeah.
- 7:38I love it so much because it's, it's such a funny thing because
- 7:41I, I bring that such a part of my fashion because like, I went
- 7:45to private school all of my life.
- 7:46Like I, I never got to decide what I wore to school, you know,
- 7:50So like I always had a uniform every single day for all of the
- 7:54years that I went to school. And I feel like some of those
- 7:57things that I used to get annoyed about and like, hey,
- 7:59like I've just merged with my actual like style kind of now,
- 8:02you know, it's like I used to complain about like having to
- 8:05wear a tie and now I'm like loving, you know, I pick up my
- 8:07ties. I'm like, I think I have like
- 8:095050 different ties that I just like rotate and like switch
- 8:12through that. I'm like, wow, like child me
- 8:15would think that was the most insufferable thing ever for
- 8:18sure. Oh.
- 8:18My God, I'm literally going to start adding ties to my
- 8:20wardrobe. You should.
- 8:22They're so fun. They're.
- 8:23So fun. I feel like they elevate an
- 8:24outfit. And you know, it's so funny
- 8:26because like now too, since people already have decided
- 8:30that, they think that it's like an interesting thing on a day
- 8:32where I'm so lazy, I'm like, Oh my gosh, like I'll just put a
- 8:34random tie over this outfit and people will think I got that
- 8:37shit on. You know it's.
- 8:38So good. It's so good.
- 8:40Absolutely. I mean, honestly, it looks
- 8:43really good. And I think with what you're
- 8:44saying about the fashion evolution that you've been
- 8:46through. So when you were you went to
- 8:48private school. So what point were you like, OK,
- 8:52now this is where I'm going to start dressing myself, defining
- 8:55my own style. And then how did that evolve to
- 8:57where we are now? So it had.
- 8:58Evolved because of my anger towards my mother and let's
- 9:02start there. The reason why is I love my mom
- 9:05so much. She's my best friend.
- 9:06No, but this is my thing. I feel like so many people have
- 9:10like the same like experience of looking back at photos of you as
- 9:14a kid that your parents dressed you in and you think why the
- 9:17fuck would you put me in that outfit?
- 9:19Why would you greet like? That, that is so funny.
- 9:22And I got to a point where I was just like, so blindly, like
- 9:26trusting, like her. Well, this is the thing.
- 9:28It was collaborative, you know? OK, I needed.
- 9:30Her to tell me, blame her. I can't, I can't, you know, but
- 9:33I did for a time when I started making the switch, you know, I
- 9:36was like, why would you do this to me?
- 9:38And she was like, well, you would come out and you would
- 9:39tell me that you really liked these two things together.
- 9:42So like, I told you it looked good.
- 9:44And I was like, but you lied. And she was like, well, like, I
- 9:46think you look good in anything. And I was like, oh, brother,
- 9:49like, come on. Like I'm like, I love you so
- 9:51much, mom, But like, that's your job.
- 9:53Like you're supposed post to you now.
- 9:55Yeah, there's vultures out here. There's people on the Internet.
- 9:57I still see tik toks of people pulling up old outfits that I
- 10:00had on it and they're like, what the hell was he wearing?
- 10:02And I'm like, God, this is going to follow me forever.
- 10:05My friends think it's the funniest thing ever to pull up a
- 10:08photo of me on Google for 2015 with the worst outfit you could
- 10:12imagine. You.
- 10:13Were like what, 13? Yes, yes, it's fair.
- 10:17But on a red carpet though, did I?
- 10:19OK, but you know what? I'll argue.
- 10:21It's there forever. It is there forever, but you
- 10:23know what? I'll argue like when you look
- 10:24like Disney Channel servers in the early 2000s, when they're
- 10:26like, they got that thing on too, and they look like so.
- 10:28Do you think it'll be camp in 10 years?
- 10:30I think it's camp right now. No, really.
- 10:32Do you want to know my take on this?
- 10:33So talk to it. This year I decided that on
- 10:36carpets I am going to look ugly. So I was just talking about walk
- 10:41me through that with Brett. OK, So OK, few things.
- 10:43First, I promised myself the rest of this year I'm going to
- 10:46wear my merch every opportunity I can, every press opportunity,
- 10:49every carpet. Well.
- 10:51Well. Hey guys, please buy the
- 10:53marriage. We have plenty of it.
- 10:56Stealing this pillow. It's yours to take.
- 10:59It's yours to take. It's been paid for.
- 11:02Thank you. Well, so I decided I'm going to
- 11:05be ugly on it because you know what?
- 11:06You know those Vogue like my career in looks, right?
- 11:08Yeah, yeah. I'm so excited for mine in like
- 11:1010 years and I want to look back at this point in my career and
- 11:12be like, wow, that was camp. Going through your look book,
- 11:15Yeah. And I'm like.
- 11:16That was a decision I made. I was just on carpet a couple
- 11:21weeks ago and Brett had called me right before I walked in.
- 11:23I was like, we're going to pull the picture up right here and
- 11:28everyone was like in these beautiful gowns and beautiful.
- 11:31Gowns. Beautiful gowns, very, very
- 11:34beautiful gowns. Talented artists as well.
- 11:38And Brett calls me and I was like, Brett, I look like a
- 11:40fucking idiot, 'cause I'm in a fucking crop top jersey and like
- 11:45I was just, I look dumb and completely misplaced.
- 11:47And I was like, I'm not walking this, I'm not walking this.
- 11:49And then, but you did it. I did walk.
- 11:50It and you did it. I did and we're going to pull up
- 11:53that Getty right here. So lovely.
- 11:56I did walk it and it was very uncomfortable, but you're.
- 11:58Gonna have to show me this photo word.
- 12:00I'm gonna show you Oh my God, I posted it in my story.
- 12:01I looked bad like honestly, and you can even see in the videos
- 12:04like that the people next to me are in like beautiful dresses,
- 12:07beautiful gowns, beautiful gowns yes.
- 12:09So don't walk a carpet with me. You'll you'll out mug me and I
- 12:12can't do that. Right now.
- 12:12But you know. What?
- 12:14That's iconic though? Like look bad.
- 12:17But honestly, I think it's camp, you know, I see where you're.
- 12:20Coming from, I see where you're coming from.
- 12:22Yeah, 'cause it really is funny. Like we look at outfits from so
- 12:25long ago and it's like if someone wore it now, we would be
- 12:28like, take it off. But it's iconic that they did it
- 12:31back then. So, you know, maybe I haven't
- 12:32caught up to myself yet. We're going to, we're actually
- 12:34going to pull up some of your gutty from 2015 right here.
- 12:37Yeah, it's public domain it. Literally is though.
- 12:40Like that's the thing, that's nothing I can do about it.
- 12:43That's I literally asked Google the other day, 'cause I had some
- 12:46ugly ass pictures on there and I was like, I was like, how kind
- 12:49of get this taken down? And then they were like, listen,
- 12:51you can't I. Was like called.
- 12:54You can't. No, I was like, OK, great, then
- 12:56I guess it'll exist forever. I change my name when I start
- 12:59posing a little better. But that was that was my take on
- 13:02the that's. So funny though, because I also
- 13:04think there is some beauty about it too that I.
- 13:07I think because there are such wretched photos of me on the
- 13:11Internet that that's helped me not be an insecure person.
- 13:14I love that. Also, like when when not the
- 13:17most satisfying photos get taken of me, like Roy, just add them
- 13:21to the pile. Just add it to the, you know,
- 13:23it's not like it's like the world's ending moment.
- 13:26It's just like. Because then you could always
- 13:27show the gun and do better too, you know what I mean?
- 13:30I think carpets are my favorite thing about this entire career,
- 13:34and I like really, it is OK. I love that.
- 13:37Yeah. Wait, what were you?
- 13:38No, I love carpets. I love carpets.
- 13:40I. Feel like that's that's a rarity
- 13:41though, and really a lot of people say that I don't think.
- 13:44So you want to know why? So talk to me.
- 13:46I think I like carpets because it's just like it is what I
- 13:48envision in Hollywood to be is like the glam and the glitz.
- 13:50And I love when people are calling my name and I love when
- 13:52the lights are flashing and I love that.
- 13:53Oh my God, that last carpet. I was telling you about that,
- 13:55You know, Brett told me to walk. They I was, I'm marketing my
- 13:58show. So I was doing my pose and they
- 14:00literally were yelling at me to take my hands off my face.
- 14:02And I was like, you'll see it in the video that I took.
- 14:05Like I was like, oh. You're like, you don't get it.
- 14:07Yeah, I was like, wait, but. This is this is what?
- 14:09This is my thing. Yeah, I'm like, I'm promoting
- 14:11right now. So I was doing the cover art and
- 14:12they were like, they were like, get your hands off your face.
- 14:14And I was like, oh, OK. And I was like, do I chop a row
- 14:16in this motherfucker? So I was like, do I say
- 14:20something? Bless you.
- 14:21Thank you. But yeah, no, I took my head off
- 14:25So funny. No anytime they tell me like not
- 14:27to do something that I no I want the photo of I just ignore it.
- 14:30I just. Do it with a smile.
- 14:31Like snap, snap. Like snap, snap, snap.
- 14:33No, absolutely Wait. OK, what's your favorite thing
- 14:35about this entire thing? You've been in the game for so
- 14:37long performing. Oh, I.
- 14:40Love any of my shows. Yeah, it's which, which also is
- 14:43a rarity from like a lot of musicians that I talked to.
- 14:46Really. They don't like it, you think?
- 14:47No, I think, I think it's just not everyone's number one
- 14:49favorite thing. And I think also to like, that's
- 14:53like another conversation that I feel like a lot of people I feel
- 14:56like are starting to have more is that like, just because
- 14:58you're a musician doesn't mean you're a performer and doesn't.
- 15:00Think you could be a recording artist?
- 15:02Yeah, exactly. And I feel like a lot of
- 15:05musicians now are inherently that, you know, and I don't
- 15:08think that that's a bad thing, you know, like, because I feel
- 15:10like there is there was definitely spaces in my life
- 15:13depending on the type of music I was making that the writing
- 15:16process in studio sessions was my most favorite medium of them
- 15:20all. But now it's just like, I feel
- 15:22like it the works not done until I get to perform it in front of
- 15:25my like fans and like in front of people.
- 15:28You know, I think that's really when you get to temperature
- 15:31check the records, you get to really feel that.
- 15:33Reaction the live. Feedback absolutely.
- 15:36You know, like, I love singing my songs and I love performing
- 15:41them and. I love hearing them and we love
- 15:42watching it. Wait, what's your least favorite
- 15:45thing about this entire thing? My least favorite thing about
- 15:47everything? Entertainment.
- 15:49Every entertainment because you honestly cover so much of all of
- 15:52entertainment, Like what is it? I said it's a huge umbrella.
- 15:56Huge umbrella. Yeah, yeah, yeah, my.
- 15:57Least favorite acting auditions? Really, acting auditions are my
- 16:02least favorite thing ever. It's like nerve wracking.
- 16:05No, I don't even know if it's nerve wracking.
- 16:07It's just like I don't know. I don't, I don't know what it
- 16:11is. Let me let me actually hold on.
- 16:12Let me unpack this real quick. Okay, let's unpack it.
- 16:15Okay, I think part of it is I never actually feel like it's
- 16:20perfect. I think that's.
- 16:22The thing, it's like when I, when I walk into the space of
- 16:25every other form of work, even when I like book an acting role
- 16:28and I'm there on set, I, I'm comfortable with the fact that
- 16:34the directors knows what they need and what they want from me
- 16:38as an actor. Yeah.
- 16:39And whether or not I think it's good or not, if it's good enough
- 16:41for the project, I trust those people.
- 16:43You know, with an audition, I am the director.
- 16:45I'm the director, I'm the videographer.
- 16:47I'm doing everything and deciding when.
- 16:49Got it. And you don't, you don't even
- 16:51necessarily even know what they're kind of like completely
- 16:53looking for, you know, there's a lot of pressure.
- 16:55Yes. It's like, you know, you're
- 16:56getting material, you're getting material, you're getting the
- 16:59script, you're getting the bones of it and you are.
- 17:01You have to make it work your own own interpretation with it.
- 17:04There technically is no right or wrong answer that I know of.
- 17:08They might have a right or wrong answer that they don't need me.
- 17:10Yeah, exactly. So I think that's the biggest
- 17:12part of I leave audition tapes most of the time.
- 17:17I feel like that's just what's happening now after Kovid.
- 17:19Like Board, thankfully, and also not thankfully because I feel
- 17:23like if I was going in person, I would have less pressure about
- 17:25it. Yeah, but I probably have to do
- 17:27it 100 times. So I have 100 different videos
- 17:29and then I sit through all of them.
- 17:30So the whole day, a whole day of just looking over them and
- 17:33deciding. Which How long are these
- 17:34audition videos? I feel like 20-30 minutes.
- 17:37Oh my God, you're really in the trenches.
- 17:39I'm in the trenches, you are. I'm in the trenches, man.
- 17:42Do. You have any audition stories
- 17:44that were like any parts that you didn't get anything you felt
- 17:46like you were like, you know, I have one I'm so excited to
- 17:49share, but I want to know yours. Wait, yeah, no, I do have one.
- 17:51You go first. Should I go first?
- 17:53Yeah, you go first. OK, well, I auditioned for this
- 17:55role and I honestly made it to like the top two of the actors
- 18:00who were considered for the role.
- 18:02And I was so close to it and I felt like I embodied this
- 18:04character and I was super excited about it.
- 18:07And actually, it's a sad story because I didn't get it,
- 18:09obviously. But it sucks because I was a
- 18:10huge fan of the person who got the role and now I feel like I'm
- 18:14not. I can't enjoy them anymore.
- 18:15Every time I see them I'm like, wow, that should have been me,
- 18:18You know what I mean? That's such, I'm I, that's so
- 18:21beautiful that you said that because I feel like a lot of
- 18:24people like, don't like to like own up to that.
- 18:26And when it's a thing that everyone feels, it's like, you
- 18:29know, I felt that exact same way with like so many opportunities.
- 18:32It's not that you're not happy for that person.
- 18:34It's just really hard to compartmentalize the fact that
- 18:36that was a dream that I wanted. Definitely.
- 18:38That is like a catalyst of the fact that I didn't get it.
- 18:40Yeah, absolutely. And it's like a big movie.
- 18:42So like I see everywhere and I'm like so heartbroken over it and
- 18:46I like. Should be me.
- 18:47It should have been me, to be honest, but it's OK.
- 18:50No be. Should I name who took the part?
- 18:51Oh, my gosh. I didn't sign any.
- 18:53That's you. I'm gonna name it.
- 18:55Are we bleeping this? Should we bleep this?
- 18:56Oh. My gosh, we'll say it to me.
- 18:58At least I want to hear you can whisper it to me.
- 18:59It was. It was the role of Galinda and
- 19:03Wicked and Ariana Grande got it. Sick, sick to my stomach.
- 19:06Right. Yeah, I'm devastated.
- 19:08And your hair honestly is triggering me.
- 19:09Is it really a little bit? Because when I pulled up, I feel
- 19:12like you gave me a look like I saw it was like a bit of a I was
- 19:17curious why. I just thought my beauty just.
- 19:20I mean, it was a little, you know what, we're going to
- 19:21address it right now was a little bit both.
- 19:22It was a little bit both. I was like stunning, but also I
- 19:25was like interesting coming from a Wicked audition.
- 19:27Been there, been there. The good the bad, you got to
- 19:30have them both to live life. I suppose so.
- 19:33I mean, I made peace with it. Okay?
- 19:36Wow. That's a That's a hard face to
- 19:38avoid. It's a hard face to avoid.
- 19:40Hard. Face to.
- 19:41Avoid, definitely. And I haven't talked to her in
- 19:43so long. Because of that, we follow.
- 19:45No. It's sad, Yeah.
- 19:47Oh. My gosh.
- 19:48To be honest, I feel like I'm Glinda so I don't know why I
- 19:51didn't get. The role, Oh my gosh, Jordan, to
- 19:52tell you something worse. Tell me I'm scared.
- 19:54You have the same vocal coach, you and Ariana.
- 19:56Yeah, we. Do Oh my God.
- 19:58That's like, I feel like I'm also bringing some of that
- 20:01energy. Maybe that's also I triggered
- 20:02you. It's I'm pretty triggered and
- 20:04maybe maybe you're the the middle man who's going to be
- 20:07able to heal my relationship with her.
- 20:08Oh my gosh. Yeah.
- 20:09Maybe we'll do it through selling.
- 20:11OK, we'll do. We'll do define.
- 20:14For good. OK, absolutely.
- 20:17Which I wasn't casted for either.
- 20:18She got it again, so whatever. I guess they wanted to keep
- 20:21we're going to switch you out. They wanted to keep the same
- 20:22actress and I was like, I guess, like, I mean, I'm available
- 20:26y'all? Budget.
- 20:27Budget. It wasn't about you.
- 20:29It was budget. They were thinking about budget.
- 20:31Constraints, you know. That's what I have to tell
- 20:32myself. What's your audition story?
- 20:34Gosh, I, I can't say the project, but I feel like, OK,
- 20:38I'll give an explanation though, give it.
- 20:40So it was during quarantine And the The thing is, this project
- 20:44didn't end up happening like in general.
- 20:46So it it was a sad thing too, because the contract, me and all
- 20:50the other people that did get the role, we were locked in.
- 20:52So you were casted for this? I was casted for this.
- 20:55Big franchise project that was going to be filming outside of
- 20:59the states for a like it's it's a legacy like type of like media
- 21:05and it was really sad because it was one of my like dream roles.
- 21:07Like it was like I and I was just having this.
- 21:10Could it still happen? It could still happen, they just
- 21:14are not obligated to cast me because the.
- 21:17Contract. Term expired.
- 21:19For the cast and it. Was really sad because like it
- 21:21happened last year when it expired after like 3 1/2 years.
- 21:25We all like texted in our group chat and we were like.
- 21:27So what that might? Actually be official that we
- 21:29don't have this, you know, oh. My God.
- 21:31Yeah, it. Was it was the craziest
- 21:34experience because every single and like I genuinely think I did
- 21:37like 8-9 callbacks like of zoom sessions like during COVID for
- 21:42this and like each one I was getting more anxious but more
- 21:45excited because like I feel like the further you get through the
- 21:47process, yeah, you're like. This is more real this.
- 21:50Is mine for sure. Like you get more confident.
- 21:52You're like, this is nice that they already know they want me.
- 21:54They're just like humoring that other guy 100.
- 21:55Percent because. They need to.
- 21:56It's someone's. What the wicked casting
- 21:58directors did to me. But yes, 100%.
- 22:02Yes, yes, yes. But yeah, it, it was, it was a
- 22:06really, really heartbreaking thing when they were like, yeah,
- 22:08like we're like putting hold on production right now.
- 22:11Because I, I think probably since I was like 7:00 or 8:00, I
- 22:15was like, I want to play that character.
- 22:18I think it's still happening. I had action figures for like.
- 22:22The Lohena. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll find
- 22:25out. Yeah, it was.
- 22:26We'll find out about this project.
- 22:27Yeah, yeah. So is it still like it's still
- 22:28the project itself still just they didn't recast it or?
- 22:31Anything. It just never happened.
- 22:32I we've, it's been crickets about it, you know?
- 22:34OK. I still think it's happening.
- 22:35Yeah. Yeah, you're manifesting that.
- 22:36Yeah, I'm I'm manifesting. Well, Bryce?
- 22:39Maybe it'll Mighty Morphin to the future one day.
- 22:42Oh. Shit.
- 22:42Wait. Yeah.
- 22:45Wait. What?
- 22:45Wait, wait. No, I caught that.
- 22:48I caught that. I caught that.
- 22:49I caught that. Wait.
- 22:50That's so sick. I can totally see that it's
- 22:52still happening. It's still happening,
- 22:54manifesting we were talking. About we're manifesting right
- 22:56now OK, well we're gonna. Love that yes you get dimples to
- 22:59do that. Now, anyone could do Lulu.
- 23:02OK, fine. Well, Bryce, we got way, way,
- 23:04way, way, way, way way ahead of ourselves here.
- 23:06And I wanted to start with the Bryce lore.
- 23:10So actually, I've known you for, I'm gonna say like a year and a
- 23:12half now. I met you last year, but I know
- 23:14quite literally nothing about you outside of your music and
- 23:18your projects. Yeah.
- 23:19So this is our opportunity to get to know Bryce.
- 23:22I. Love this.
- 23:23So tell us where you're from, where you came from, how you got
- 23:25into content creation. Yeah.
- 23:27Born in Orange County, got it grew.
- 23:28Up in LA. Yes, I've always just claimed LA
- 23:32because like, I was going back and forth up with my mom like
- 23:35five days a week. All my friends that I made were
- 23:38in LAII. Don't really, you know, Orange
- 23:41County? Yeah.
- 23:41It's very, it's a very interesting place for just like
- 23:44a queer person to grow up, a person of color to grow.
- 23:46Up. Oh my God.
- 23:47Any person that's like outside of the box, I guess.
- 23:52And I feel like I'm not even that far outside of it.
- 23:54Well, maybe I am, but. Yes.
- 23:56Definitely not the box that they want though.
- 23:57Exactly, exactly so. And I've been there.
- 23:59I never really related the most to it, so any excuse that I
- 24:03could get to go with my mom to work, any excuse to find
- 24:05something to do in Lai would spend time doing so.
- 24:10My mom is the start of kind of all of this, really.
- 24:14She. So you forgive her for the
- 24:16fashion mishaps? Forgive her for the fashion
- 24:18mishaps, but I will give her credit for any success I've ever
- 24:22had in. Life, OK, she loves that.
- 24:24That's a good fucking trade off, OK?
- 24:26That's a good trade off. Thank you, Gigi.
- 24:28Love you mommy. So my mother is a brilliant
- 24:33musician and songwriter. She had one of like the first
- 24:36like all female songwriting teams like out here like in LA
- 24:40that was producing for majors. So I always would go to sessions
- 24:44with her being around music and at that time I had no mindset
- 24:48that I wanted to be a musician or do anything entertainment
- 24:51field at all. My mother actually like really
- 24:52wanted me to stray away from it, not because she wouldn't support
- 24:57me if I wanted to. She just very, very, very
- 25:01clearly showed me the good and the bad to it.
- 25:04And a lot of the times you see the bad outweighs the good most
- 25:07of the time. And I feel like even being in
- 25:09this, you know, a decade in, as we both know, but sometimes it
- 25:13can seem like that great cod won't go away.
- 25:17So I saw struggling musicians. I saw people getting dropped
- 25:20from labels. I saw people getting dropped
- 25:22from management's. I saw bad record deals, I saw
- 25:24bad contracts. I saw all of these things in
- 25:27elementary school, in middle. School, I was going to say, as a
- 25:29child, you're witnessing people's dreams being crushed.
- 25:31These are exactly, exactly. And you know, and I think I also
- 25:35have always had a good head on my shoulders with juggling to
- 25:38also not be like a nihilist about it because I do have such
- 25:41a really great, beautiful, grounded mother who told me this
- 25:45isn't also the way that it goes for everyone.
- 25:48You know, look at these people that are also in my life that
- 25:50are excelling. And balance.
- 25:51There. Yeah, exactly.
- 25:52You know, The thing is, it's just don't fall for the fact
- 25:55that just because it's your dream means that it'll be easy.
- 25:58And that's the thing that I've always kind of just like stuck
- 26:00with me, you know? So through most of those years,
- 26:04I thought I was going to school for architecture.
- 26:05Like my private school that I went to was a specific school
- 26:09path that my mom got me in that was going to take me to this
- 26:12other school that I was going to be able to go study architecture
- 26:15at Stanford. Like that was like my plan, not
- 26:17even a plan that she had for me, you know?
- 26:19When did you decide that like as a child, you study architecture?
- 26:221st grade, 2nd grade or something.
- 26:24Yeah. So one of my one of my friends
- 26:26that I made, his dad was an architect and I just would spend
- 26:31a lot of time with them. And just the beauty of people's
- 26:37brains, being able to make these structures that are around us
- 26:39all the time, that so many people, I feel like if we really
- 26:41tried to put thought and comprehend how that building
- 26:43happened and how it's there and how all those people made this a
- 26:46thing and how someone like dreamt that up first.
- 26:49And that's such a crazy thought to me, as crazy it is of like
- 26:51making a song, you know? Yeah.
- 26:53Something that just. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:55Creative. It is.
- 26:56It is really creative and you know, and a lot of numbers, a
- 27:00lot, a lot of numbers, you know, so that was the path that I kind
- 27:04of always thought I would go around in music and being
- 27:07creative was just something that I really did for like leisure,
- 27:10because I was like, that's moms job, you know, that's her thing
- 27:13that she does, you know, right. So she took a break from music
- 27:16for a while, started doing entertaining accounting for like
- 27:19a lot of musicians and stuff like that.
- 27:21Around the same time that I I started posting online when I
- 27:24wasn't supposed to. So my moms one rule, my mom was
- 27:27not really strict about many things because I feel like I we
- 27:31had a really good trusting relationship.
- 27:32Like I wasn't a bad kid, she wasn't an overbearing mother.
- 27:35But she did tell me that she wanted me to wait till I think I
- 27:39was in high school before I started posting, like on social
- 27:41media. You know?
- 27:42She was just like, I've seen a lot of people around me put so
- 27:45much of themselves on the Internet as a young age and they
- 27:47really regret it when they get older.
- 27:48Like I'm talking about my bad outfits 10 years later, right?
- 27:51Should have listened to. Mom, I mean their camp.
- 27:53Thank you. Yes, so she was like, you know,
- 27:56I really want you to get into a headspace where you're starting
- 27:58to figure out who you are and know exactly what you want to
- 28:00put out online. All I heard was blah, blah,
- 28:02blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 28:03She's trying to censor me. Shut up, mom.
- 28:05Oh, my God. Yeah, I'm to do it.
- 28:06Anyways, so I was a bad little kid and I got a Snapchat.
- 28:10No, not a Snappy. I got a Snapchat, I got a
- 28:13Snapchat, I mean, and then my friends were like, well, if you
- 28:15already have Snapchat, you might as well get everything else.
- 28:17Like she's going to get equally as mad.
- 28:19About every pressure, the one thing.
- 28:21I know, I know. Gosh.
- 28:24And you listen, and you listen, and now you're here.
- 28:26Anything that was worse, but we're better, better or better
- 28:29because I'm here. I mean, now you're here.
- 28:31Yes, yes, yes. So I've been to Instagram, I
- 28:34made musically at that time, I made all, I made a YouTube, all
- 28:38of this stuff and I was like, I'm just going to start posting
- 28:41for myself. Like truly I wanted to do it
- 28:43because I wanted to connect with friends mostly was the reason
- 28:46why I was getting the Snapchat. All right, it's like still
- 28:49social media. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 28:50But the rest of them, I was just like, you know, I'm going to
- 28:52make this my video diary because I, I always knew that I was
- 28:58going to excel whatever I wanted to do.
- 28:59Like that was the thing I really always meet myself and I love
- 29:02that. And, you know, I knew that I
- 29:04wanted to be an architect, but I also knew that I really did have
- 29:07a love for writing. Like if that was for other
- 29:10people, if that was for myself. It was a songwriting or just
- 29:12writing. Both, But, yeah, so I started
- 29:15off with like, a lot of poetry I was doing.
- 29:17So I had like an account where I was just posting, like, my
- 29:20poetry and, like, reading it at lunch.
- 29:23Like I was spending lunch by myself at this, like, random
- 29:25stairwell at my school. And I was just like with my like
- 29:27journal filming myself making these videos and then posting
- 29:30them on Instagram, you know, And like back then, I feel like the
- 29:35influence of of it all wasn't even like a mindset for most
- 29:37people or. Anyone 2014?
- 29:4015, yeah. So it wasn't a thing.
- 29:41You know what I think? It's like YouTube, YouTube.
- 29:43It's like if you're actively posting and even that I so it
- 29:46was just like, it was such a far away thing that I was just like,
- 29:50oh, no one's gonna see this. I have 0 followers.
- 29:53I have like, I have like 4 followers and like one of them's
- 29:55like my other account, you know? So I was posting these videos
- 30:00and then randomly I was like, you know, I want to like sing
- 30:03one of my favorite songs. I think it was like, I think I
- 30:05did like love Yourself by Justin Bieber or something.
- 30:07Oh my God, it's like. 2015 Yeah yeah, I'm not sure and I posted
- 30:12the video and then I didn't post for like a week or two and then
- 30:16someone at school came up to me and was like hey like did you
- 30:19like see like your like Instagram?
- 30:21And I was like. Oh my God, like my mom's gonna
- 30:23whoop my ass like she found my Instagram like I was you got out
- 30:26in my mom made a post and was like blocked myself.
- 30:30Something like that I. Was like, gosh, like I don't
- 30:32want to go home. I like went on they're my
- 30:35friend's phone, 'cause I think my, my phone was actually dead
- 30:37at that time. I remember I couldn't even check
- 30:39it and the video had like, it was like, it's so Ellen like it
- 30:43was, I always say it was my Ellen story of I was like just
- 30:46waiting for her to e-mail me for me.
- 30:47She was about to hit you up to be a gas.
- 30:49Gosh, I don't know why she didn't.
- 30:50I mean, you're here now and this is better than hell.
- 30:52Yeah, this. There you go.
- 30:54I I don't see Ellen still airing.
- 30:56Oh good. The Lulu is rate the show 5
- 31:00stars please. But yeah, no, I it had like a
- 31:05couple million views, which was like insane for Instagram too.
- 31:08It was just like that was like. Especially at that time, I know
- 31:11virality wasn't a thing back. That was not a thing.
- 31:14And I think I had like 20-30 thousand followers of strangers
- 31:17and that was like scary to me. I was like, Oh my gosh.
- 31:19I can't even. My mom's gonna.
- 31:21Find out. That's all I was thinking.
- 31:22All I was thinking is my mom's gonna find out and I'm gonna get
- 31:24in trouble. I mean, guys like we, we really
- 31:28are so locked. And I hate, I hate making my mom
- 31:30mad. And like, I think she also hates
- 31:32the doing. This Was she mad?
- 31:34No, no, no. OK, you know twice because she
- 31:36didn't know immediately. OK, really bad.
- 31:38She kept hiding. It I kept this is a secret.
- 31:40Oh no months. How does she not know months?
- 31:43It was blowing up I. That's the thing.
- 31:45It's just like back then, I don't even think now it's like
- 31:48you get a viral thing. Everyone's texting you.
- 31:50They're like, hey, I saw your video or like someone post your
- 31:52video yadda yadda yadda yadda. My mom.
- 31:55Wasn't using Instagram and going on there.
- 31:56I don't think anyone really was. To search new people.
- 32:00You're like they're just posting for themselves.
- 32:02You're becoming famous and your mom had no idea.
- 32:04No idea that's crazy. I had my first 100,000 followers
- 32:07on Instagram and then I had my first like 400,000.
- 32:09Followers. Wait, isn't that like 1314?
- 32:12You're a 1314. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 32:14Yeah. I was just turned 14 at that
- 32:16point. That's insane.
- 32:17I know. And finally, I was getting to
- 32:21the point where I was getting a lot of messages from companies.
- 32:23Like, it was like 1 of like, the first ones was Target, like,
- 32:26like messaged me. And I was like, I literally
- 32:29don't know what any of this means whatsoever.
- 32:32Like, this is getting too out of hand.
- 32:33Someone's going to stitch to my mom again.
- 32:35That's only where my headspace was.
- 32:37So I told her this double life you're living and.
- 32:40But she literally like if you ask her this like she will laugh
- 32:43while telling you that she said the exact same thing.
- 32:46She laughed so hard and she was like wow like it took you 3
- 32:50months to tell me. Like she was like, I saw the
- 32:53video like a week after you posted it and I was like, she
- 32:56saw the video before my friend saw it and I was like.
- 32:59You both were so sneaky. I was like girl.
- 33:02Dare she clocked her ass? No, yeah, but she told me she
- 33:04was like, honestly, I've been so mad and silent and was working
- 33:08through it that I'm not even mad about it anymore.
- 33:10So she she was like, this was a good thing for you.
- 33:11And I was like. Oh my God.
- 33:13So she worked through it on her own.
- 33:14So keep it a fucking secret. No, actually, I'm not telling
- 33:18you guys. Don't do that kids.
- 33:19I'm sorry, actually talk to. You, I mean, you're kind of
- 33:21Hannah Montana, you know, I. Was Hannah Montana?
- 33:23You were. You were, yeah.
- 33:25And. It works out.
- 33:27So literally it's just spiraled into this like huge, beautiful
- 33:31and amazing thing from that. And you know, I still love
- 33:34architecture. I still dream about.
- 33:37I obviously I didn't go to college.
- 33:39I started doing online school for high school because I was
- 33:42traveling so much. Like I feel like back then paid
- 33:46brand deals were you had to go to where the brand was.
- 33:50Oh, right. So it's like my first really big
- 33:52deal that like paid for me and my like mom's housing for like 2
- 33:56years. Uh huh.
- 33:57Was like that target deal that I did.
- 33:58I was gonna say what? Happened target I had.
- 34:00To go live in Minnesota, I had to go live in Minnesota for like
- 34:02a month and some change. Like a long ass.
- 34:04Deal. I designed a clothing line with
- 34:06Target called Art class. What?
- 34:07So like I had, yeah, there's like there's the pieces are
- 34:10still like you can like search them up and find it.
- 34:12Was like a whole can order some I.
- 34:14Did but I worked with their design team.
- 34:16I got to like actually go through the colors, everything
- 34:19textures like sat with them and mind you like again, like I'm
- 34:22like not even 15 like doing this.
- 34:24Yeah, that's insane. So it was my life really changed
- 34:27like inspired in the trajectory so quickly.
- 34:30So my mom quit her job doing entertainment accounting and
- 34:34started basically managing me full time.
- 34:36And now, as you know, my mom owns her own social media and
- 34:39music management company that she started and I was her first
- 34:42client and we'll always have that together.
- 34:44So yeah, we we really have been on this journey together.
- 34:47But when I say it started with her, like it really was because
- 34:50of her. And that's crazy.
- 34:52I love that she really, like, went all in for you too.
- 34:55Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:56She's like, that's rare. Yeah.
- 34:57You know what I mean? It is rare.
- 34:58Most of the most of the people around, I mean, to do, most
- 35:02queer people around me in general did not have parents
- 35:05that would have supported them in the way that my mother
- 35:08supported me. And that's why I think we are so
- 35:10close, you know? That's amazing because I had a.
- 35:17Thank you so much. Bless you, Bryce.
- 35:20You know, sometimes you just have to sneeze out your
- 35:22appreciation. Yeah, that's the way you express
- 35:25it. So that was for you, Gigi.
- 35:28But yeah, my parents, I love them so much.
- 35:32And like, honestly, right now I feel like they're so, so deeply
- 35:35supportive. But like, I was kind of, it was
- 35:37kind of awful for me. It was like, you're going to
- 35:38school, you're getting a career, you're doing like a big girl
- 35:41job, right? And I was like, OK, cuz like, I
- 35:43don't know, I've always wanted to do this, but like, I don't
- 35:46didn't know how to do it. But I'm really grateful that I
- 35:48also like, let myself rebel against that and then go with
- 35:52what? You didn't also reinforce those
- 35:55idea in your own brain where you're like, no, this isn't
- 35:57meant for me. I need to.
- 35:59Yeah, yeah. And it's so crazy because it's
- 36:00just like the same people. And even, like, I, I'm not, I
- 36:05don't talk to my dad's side of the family whatsoever at all.
- 36:07And so many of them, when I first was getting started,
- 36:10thought that it was like such like a waste of waste of my
- 36:13smarts. They would say like waste of my
- 36:15talents and academics and all of these things are like the same
- 36:19people who have like the conversation like now, like so
- 36:21many years later and they're like no job is stable anymore.
- 36:23Actually, like we're all, we're all in the same.
- 36:26Exactly that we are. You know, because that's the
- 36:28thing that people always say when you want to do something
- 36:30creative, it's like it's not stability, stability, stability.
- 36:33And it's like I like am not here by chance to worry about being
- 36:38stable. I'm sorry, you know, and it's
- 36:40like. Most creatives aren't concerned
- 36:42with that. Yeah, no, I'd rather be happy
- 36:44and like unstable with where opportunities and these things
- 36:48are coming for me because I think that made me a harder
- 36:50worker. It made me a worker that didn't
- 36:53just abide by what I thought the system wanted me to do and what
- 36:56I was supposed to do. I had to get creative.
- 36:58Like you have to get creative. You have to think outside of the
- 37:00box. You have to think of yourself
- 37:01outside of a business. I have to prioritize myself as a
- 37:04creative first, but I also have to think about how is that also
- 37:07going to help me through all these other stages of fun things
- 37:10that I want to do, you know? And mixing my brain that was so
- 37:14academic with my creative brain, I think is the reason why that
- 37:17it's just like worked all these years, you know?
- 37:19Yeah, and I actually, I should be a lot of that to myself too,
- 37:21because then, you know, I tell my parents all the time where
- 37:23I'm like, oh, you forced me to go to college.
- 37:24I don't do anything with my degree.
- 37:26But then they're like, you're able to connect with people the
- 37:28way you are because you went to college.
- 37:29And that's entirely true. You know what's interesting
- 37:32about being a creative? And I feel like I would love to
- 37:33get your take on this. I was just in a meeting
- 37:36literally right before filming this.
- 37:38And in the meeting they were like, let's be real, we just
- 37:41want money. We all just want money.
- 37:43And I sat there and I was so uncomfortable because I was
- 37:45like, I don't want to argue with these people, but I was just
- 37:47like, in my head, I was like, I actually, I just want to create.
- 37:50Like I really just want to entertain.
- 37:51And I was like, I was like trying not to open my mouth and
- 37:54say it because I was like, I know it's going to create
- 37:56discourse in here if I disagree. So.
- 37:58And I, it's funny enough, I told Mina before we took this
- 38:01meeting. I was like, you got to keep me
- 38:02calm, girl, because I can't go, I can't go off right now.
- 38:06But I just want to create like genuinely and like money is so
- 38:10welcomed and would be so great, of course, but like, if I can
- 38:13create something cool and I can be proud of that and like I
- 38:16think that's fulfilling for me too.
- 38:18But that being said, I brands hit me up Target.
- 38:21Yeah, Yeah. Well, this is the thing.
- 38:23It's just like, you know, I am. It's such like a very, very,
- 38:29very slippery slope with the money conversation, you know,
- 38:32because I feel like The thing is, it's very hard sometimes
- 38:36working with people who are not creative themselves, but find
- 38:39themselves in creative fields and are only focusing on the
- 38:43monetization of that creative, you know, and I have been in so
- 38:48many conversations like with just like label deal offers that
- 38:50I'd like didn't go with their managements and all these
- 38:52things, you know, and those similar conversations do come up
- 38:54And honestly, good on you 'cause The thing is, I wouldn't say
- 38:57anything because that's not your, that's not your, you're
- 39:00not going to change their mind. That's the thing.
- 39:02That's what you have to realize when people really do have that
- 39:04view and mindset about money, specifically when it's in a
- 39:06creative field, it's, you're not going to change their mind.
- 39:09You need to just protect your own energy.
- 39:11And it, it, it teaches you a lesson that you have the
- 39:14decision of which path you go. And.
- 39:16I'll be learning right now so. You know, and hey, it's open
- 39:19book. It's open book, it's open book.
- 39:21So book girl. Yeah.
- 39:22So I, I've had that. I've wrestled with those same
- 39:26thoughts myself, you know, where it's just like, oh, yeah.
- 39:29Like I hope this job makes it so I get to be like, so rich, not
- 39:35even for myself, but like to do all of these things for like, my
- 39:38friends and like, also start these spaces for like creator
- 39:41communities for musicians and stuff.
- 39:43You know, like it's most of the thoughts that I've ever had
- 39:45about it hasn't even been like about like selfish.
- 39:47It's just like, oh, like I want to take these opportunities that
- 39:50I get and I just like want to help people and want to do
- 39:52things for like my community. That's the reason why I'm in
- 39:54this position. But working with people who are
- 39:57not creative themselves, they don't get that other attachment
- 40:00that you have to it, you know, and I feel like that's where a
- 40:03lot of people don't get that ads the creative.
- 40:04You really do have to make sure you're steering your own chip
- 40:07and your own direction because some people might say they get
- 40:11it, but they they won't truly like ever get it if you don't,
- 40:15if your brain's not wired that way, you know, and there's some
- 40:17people who's. Brains aren't, and I think that
- 40:19that's a beautiful, great thing in their own respect because our
- 40:21brains will never be wired the same way they are.
- 40:23You know, I think it's great to have people on your team that
- 40:26are objectively thinking about how to make you successful in
- 40:291°. But I also think that that
- 40:31should never over shadow the love of why you're doing it.
- 40:33Because then at that point just go get any other fucking job.
- 40:36But yeah. Then go make money.
- 40:38Right. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:39Yeah, 'cause it's never a guarantee, you know?
- 40:41Yeah. And it's, it's the beauty of it
- 40:44to me. I love that it's, I love that
- 40:46it's not a guarantee. I think if I knew everything was
- 40:49going to work out for me, like I wouldn't have that hunger inside
- 40:52of me to like, be better for myself.
- 40:53You know? It's like I'm always trying to
- 40:55figure out new ways to like just be like a better creative
- 40:58inversion of myself to like make opportunities.
- 41:01Like even if it's not fitting an opportunity that I didn't get
- 41:05that I'm like, fuck, like if I was better, I should have got
- 41:07that. No, it's just like, oh, OK,
- 41:09cool. I need to just keep developing
- 41:11to a point to where that opportunity is not even like on
- 41:14like my like mindset. It's not even in the rearview.
- 41:16You know, I love that. And I feel like those like
- 41:19feelings have really just like taken me to like where I am now.
- 41:22Absolutely it is. Everything's working.
- 41:24Out. Yeah, it's just like even my
- 41:25like new music team that I started working with like last
- 41:29year. It's so funny because my project
- 41:32that I put out, which is the reason why they started working
- 41:34with me, was like the least streamed thing that I've ever
- 41:37put out, like. The one from last year, yeah,
- 41:39it's been a good. Game last summer, yeah.
- 41:41And it's like, again, it did great.
- 41:43It did good. But when you're constantly
- 41:45comparing it to things that you've done in the past, when
- 41:47you've been in it for so long, it's hard for it to always be.
- 41:52You know, honestly, being creative is like a business.
- 41:54It's going to be up and down. It's not always going to be
- 41:56consistent. And that's something that I
- 41:57think everyone needs to like. If you're going to get into a
- 41:59creative field, it's going to be like that.
- 42:01Yeah, yeah, exactly. And it's just also, again,
- 42:05realizing that yourself, because when you're creative, like, it's
- 42:07hard to not be like, wow, like, my stuff's not good, you know,
- 42:10It's like, like, if it was good, it would work.
- 42:12Right. I mean, you would think
- 42:14logically, you would think logically, but there's so many
- 42:16more factors that go into it and a lot of things are out of your
- 42:18hands. I think at the end of the day,
- 42:20if you create something that's awesome and you stand by it, you
- 42:22feel confident about it, I think that should always just be good
- 42:24enough and then we'll let the universe handle the rest.
- 42:26Yeah, exactly. And it's like you know that
- 42:28project is the reason why I'm working with.
- 42:30Some of the doors for you. Best amazing people and music
- 42:33yeah the last like year and all of these opportunities that have
- 42:36happened to me this year have been because of me keeping my
- 42:39head down going with it I went with it you know I I fully
- 42:43committed and went with the project and I was like hey you
- 42:46know it might not have did good as good as this other thing but
- 42:50I'm happy with it I'm happy with it I had a great time creating
- 42:53it I'm a better artist now that it's like out and done it's a.
- 42:55Great perspective. And then the next release I did
- 42:57of course, like did like so great.
- 42:59And I was like, see, I was like, imagine if I just would have
- 43:02been like sulking, like that's just what.
- 43:04You've kept it going, Yeah. You can't let yourself, like,
- 43:07stumble backwards. Yeah.
- 43:08It's about pushing forward, yeah.
- 43:09Would you? Which we both do and I feel like
- 43:11that's a good thing that you also should recognize with
- 43:13yourself too, you know? Yeah, 'cause like it's, I think
- 43:15any of us that are doing this, like you have to do that or we
- 43:18would all crash, burn and fall every Tuesday.
- 43:21You. Know we have such different
- 43:22motivations though, because to be honest, for me, I'm so
- 43:24motivated by pettiness and like what I'm doing right now is
- 43:27quite literally out of the pettiness.
- 43:29And I'm like, oh, you'll see. You will see.
- 43:32Hey, you know, find your engine. Find your engine.
- 43:35Let your motherfucker find your engine.
- 43:37Well, would you say that you're a big risk taker?
- 43:40Yeah, easy. Really.
- 43:42That's so interesting. I was just on another show, baby
- 43:46gay with PJ love that. And I actually talked about
- 43:49being very risk aversion. Like I'm not a big risk taker.
- 43:53If I don't immediately see like a plausible ROI, I'm not going
- 43:56to go after. And this goes to everything like
- 43:58not even just business like. Personal life too.
- 44:00Personal life like you know, I don't like taking risks I don't
- 44:02like going after things so like what makes you feel like you're
- 44:05confident about like being willing to make that jump
- 44:07because you've always been like that you made that jump when
- 44:09you're when you're kid too I. I, I wish it was some internal
- 44:15thing that I could say, but like it's really all the external
- 44:18shine for my mother. Like I just she, she's lived
- 44:23such an amazing life and has no regrets for it, which is why she
- 44:27was such a good mother. You know, she raised me so fully
- 44:30unbiased because she just truly wanted what was best for me
- 44:35because of me. You know, it wasn't because she
- 44:37was trying to live through me. It wasn't because she wanted me
- 44:40to like have a compliment so that she didn't have time to
- 44:42get, you know, no, she just like lived her life to the fullest
- 44:45and still does every single day. Like it's like my mom's the type
- 44:48of person where like I'll be on phone with her and like she's
- 44:51like in Mexico randomly and then like on the next week, like
- 44:54she's in Europe and she's like not returning my call back, but
- 44:56like on FaceTime with my boyfriend and like they're like
- 44:58kicking like she's like shaking her like.
- 45:00Drink like on a work trip. Funny and I'm just like wow,
- 45:02like I always think and like we always say me and it spread to
- 45:07my entire friend group, management team, everyone.
- 45:10We're like if Gigi could do it, what are we complaining about?
- 45:13Like that's what we think like she did do it.
- 45:14Don't get out. She has the same amount of hours
- 45:16in a day that anyone. She's on Beyoncé's clock.
- 45:19Clearly, clearly, clearly, you know, so I feel like just
- 45:22watching my mom like, and things have always worked, worked out
- 45:26for her. They've always settled.
- 45:27And it wasn't because of chance. It wasn't just because of life.
- 45:29It was because she made it happen for herself, because she
- 45:33just was like, really free with it.
- 45:35And I feel like it was just such a great thing for a specific
- 45:38person like me, you know? Yeah, I see that.
- 45:40Yeah. I was like, I have these
- 45:42conversations with people sometimes where I'm like, you
- 45:44know, maybe if I was a different kid like that, I, that wouldn't,
- 45:48I wouldn't have taken a lot from that.
- 45:49You know, it doesn't mean that I was meant to also be a risk
- 45:52taker. You know, I think I just
- 45:53happened to I end up with the personality that's very similar
- 45:57to my mom and seeing what she did with that was like a really
- 46:02good starting rounds for me. You know, we're very different
- 46:04in so many ways, but I feel like just trying and trying without
- 46:09much thought sometimes. I love it.
- 46:12I. Wouldn't strength and sometimes.
- 46:14I'm too strategic to do that but like it's honestly working out
- 46:17for you and to be honest both of you are probably just really
- 46:20good at manifesting. You know what?
- 46:22Maybe. I mean it.
- 46:23Has to be, you know, I believe that honestly think.
- 46:25About the scope of your entire career, like even starting so
- 46:27young with social media and then venturing into acting and then
- 46:31performing and then singing and then everything that you're
- 46:34doing and continuing the social media career.
- 46:35Like you have to be good at it, you know?
- 46:37Thank you. I mean, you're excellent at
- 46:39thank you. No, Congrats.
- 46:41Honestly, can I? OK, to be honest, a social media
- 46:43career, they're so like the life spans of them are so short.
- 46:47Like when I started in 2020, I even acknowledged I was like, I
- 46:50think I maybe have a good year to make something happen using
- 46:53like whatever attention I have right now.
- 46:55And I'm so grateful because I'm about to start my 6th year to
- 46:59catch up to your 10. Hell yeah.
- 47:01But it's a lot. And it's a lot to keep up with
- 47:03and staying relevant through all of it, you know?
- 47:06So be grateful for those ugly red carpets that you did.
- 47:09Yes, yes, no, I am. I am as much as I like, will
- 47:13forever complain about them. I mean fair.
- 47:17I am I am really grateful. I am I I also truly do believe
- 47:21that like every every loss, every win you get is moving you
- 47:25into the direction that you're supposed to be.
- 47:27And I think another skill of mine that I really do love about
- 47:30myself is like my ability to pivot and just like realize it's
- 47:34like even even like. I love a pivot.
- 47:36As you know, these last couple of months have been a little
- 47:38crazy, even like with like my house, my poor baby house, my
- 47:42first baby that I bought a couple years ago, I literally
- 47:45woke up into the middle of the night and my ceiling was
- 47:47collapsed on the floor because like a random yadda yadda yadda.
- 47:51And I was really freaking out about it for like the first
- 47:53couple days I was. Just like I would.
- 47:55Too, Yes, yes. Well, yes, fair.
- 47:57But I feel like I always am really able to just like see it
- 48:02as the point where it's like, yeah, this is not the most ideal
- 48:04situation that's happening, but it's like, I'm fine.
- 48:07Like I'm going to be fine. And it's like me 3 weeks now
- 48:10forward from the incident, it's still stressful.
- 48:12He's heard me complain about. It I mean you're.
- 48:15Fine, but like I'm fine and like I'm okay And it's like, you
- 48:18know, I really feel like if you just remind yourself that those
- 48:22thoughts I have, I've had anxiety since I was like sick.
- 48:26I think I did God diagnose that it's not going to go away.
- 48:29And that's not a bad thing. That other voice inside of your
- 48:32brain that's telling, you know, this is something you should be
- 48:33stressing about. This is scary.
- 48:35This is unfamiliar to me. I'm trying to save you.
- 48:37I just like that voice is valid. Like I'm like, it is all those
- 48:40things you're saying are so true and I understand that, but we're
- 48:43going to figure out how to keep moving along with it.
- 48:46You kind of have no. Choice but to and that's
- 48:47something I'm realizing right now too, like in whatever
- 48:51situations I land in it's kind of like I'm at the point where
- 48:54it's like what can I control here and if I can't then we'll
- 48:59just. The time's going to pass
- 49:00anyways. Fuck it, we ball.
- 49:02Fuck it, we ball. That's.
- 49:03What we could do at that point, the time is going to pass
- 49:06anyways. I really do like that because I
- 49:07find myself being very impatient for things.
- 49:09But to be honest, yes, the time's going to pass.
- 49:12It's going to go by, it's going to, it's going to be a season.
- 49:15And then when I, it's so funny, I remind myself when I'm in a
- 49:20really good era and like a really good time of like the bad
- 49:23era that I had, because I feel like it's really easy to just
- 49:25like gradually fall out of it and you're not thinking about it
- 49:29anymore. And I was just like, you know,
- 49:31shit, like a year ago around this time, I was so stressed
- 49:35about XY and Z and all those boxes got checked and I'm not
- 49:39even thinking about them anymore.
- 49:40It's crazy. I want to think about them right
- 49:42now. I'm going to recognize the fact
- 49:44that you got through. I was in such a different place
- 49:46and because of that mindset got me through it to this point.
- 49:49And yeah, I've 10 new problems, 10 new.
- 49:52Very, very. You'll reflect on those.
- 49:55Exactly. And then in a year from now, I'm
- 49:58going to be selling out even bigger concert venues.
- 50:01And stuff like that. I'm going to be like, damn, I'm
- 50:03going to be like, my ceiling was on the floor last year, you
- 50:07know? But we fuck it, we bucket, we
- 50:09bucket, we ball, and now we're fine, Yeah.
- 50:12Exactly. You know what, You're wise
- 50:13beyond your years, to be honest, for reflecting on all of that.
- 50:15You're way better than me. Oh my God, you're so therapy,
- 50:19young therapy, I'm telling you. Well, congratulations on all
- 50:24that, especially because like I want to talk about your journey
- 50:26as a queer artist. So you actually put in your
- 50:29Spotify bio that you're a 110% queer and you just did a run of
- 50:33pride shows and then your newest release, I Love You Boy is like
- 50:37just very, very, very gay. So I think your queer identity
- 50:42as an artist, like and the things that you're doing and
- 50:44you're manifesting the shows and you're getting bigger of it.
- 50:47How much does it define you as like you make your music?
- 50:49How much do you want to integrate?
- 50:51It every fiber, every fibre of my being in it.
- 50:55Yeah. I I am so grateful for my song
- 51:00Romeo that came out in 2021 during a time where I feel like
- 51:06there was not a lot of music from young male artists talking
- 51:10about same sex love. And very explicitly like not
- 51:14making a little slide into window that people are like
- 51:16they're going to look on TikTok and on Twitter and they're like,
- 51:18they said that about this, you know, it was very just like,
- 51:22Nope. Like this is about like a guy
- 51:24take it or leave it. You love it or hate it.
- 51:26You know, I'm really grateful for that song because I was the
- 51:30first song I ever wrote like that.
- 51:33And that was only four years ago, you know, And it's like I
- 51:36came out publicly 3 months before that record came out.
- 51:39But like, I've been like out, I'm pansexual.
- 51:42I've been out all my life damn near like my mom and I have
- 51:47again, have just had such a close relationship that I never
- 51:50was really, I never thought much about my identity.
- 51:53I was just like, oh, like, that's just like me, you know,
- 51:55like I, I have my ex girlfriends, I have my like ex
- 51:58boyfriends, you know, like that's just like Bryce, you
- 52:00know, totally. But then when it was like, OK,
- 52:03like so many people are like asking these questions online.
- 52:07Like there was like there was one video that I saw and it was
- 52:09like when MJ and I first were posting together before we said
- 52:12that we were dating and it got like 100,000 like likes and like
- 52:15almost 1,000,000 views. And like it was this person like
- 52:17zooming into photos and stuff. And I was like, damn, I was
- 52:19like, these pictures are nosy as shit, you know?
- 52:22Oh my God. I was like, fuck.
- 52:23I was like, you know, usually I think like it's not anyone's
- 52:25business, but I was like, I'm getting irritated because
- 52:28they're getting info wrong. Now you.
- 52:29Know like let me go right? It's like, actually we didn't
- 52:32meet that month. No, I don't know him from this
- 52:35friend. Like what are you talking?
- 52:36About they're making little theories about your
- 52:38relationship. And they were wrong.
- 52:39I hate a wrong theory. I hate a wrong loud if you're.
- 52:42Gonna start a rumor, it better be true.
- 52:43Thank you. Like I want you to gag me.
- 52:45I want to go online and I would be like texting the group chat
- 52:48and I'm like, cool, you know, they were just being, they were
- 52:53just awfully loud and wrong. So I was just like, you know, I
- 52:57want to be open about myself. And then MJ was not out to his
- 53:01parents around that time at all. And his parents are the exact
- 53:05opposite of mine. You could guess.
- 53:08So very, very religious, very not pro right queer.
- 53:16Yeah, it was a different upbringing.
- 53:18Very, very, very, very different upbringing.
- 53:20And it's also so crazy because it's just like, you know, it's
- 53:22not like we're from insanely different worlds.
- 53:25Like he grew up in San Diego. Like that's like not even an
- 53:27hour and a half from like my hometown, you know?
- 53:29But yeah, yeah. But it's, but it's so different.
- 53:31But it's very funny because it's like OC to LA, very different
- 53:35vibes, you know? So it just really is crazy how
- 53:38close that you could grow up to very different way of, like,
- 53:43upbringing when it comes to progressiveness, you know?
- 53:46And I feel like that is such a California shelter.
- 53:48I, I always forget that that's like a thing that still happens
- 53:51here. You know, I'm like, oh, this is
- 53:52my blue utopia. Yeah, like every every,
- 53:55everyone's rocking with a gaze here.
- 53:57You know God, no. Yeah, so when we came out
- 54:01publicly, and when I was talking about Romeo being my like, first
- 54:05outwardly queer song, that was also his time where he came out
- 54:08to his like, entire family, which was a doozy at that time
- 54:12too, you know, which also reinforce the force, the idea of
- 54:15why these songs are so important.
- 54:17They are so important because it shouldn't be shocks that they're
- 54:20happening. It shouldn't be shocks that
- 54:21people are. Making it shouldn't be
- 54:22sensationalized. It's just like you're in a queer
- 54:24relationship. Your record, it's like, oh duh,
- 54:25we have their songs in 2025 and 2021 and 2022.
- 54:28Like it's, it's just. And thankfully, you're making
- 54:30them. Yes, exactly.
- 54:31So it was really, really grateful for that song because
- 54:35it's just given me over the years more and more
- 54:38comfortability and courage to just be very candid, which has
- 54:41made my songwriting better in my opinion.
- 54:42Because when you're constantly thinking like, I shouldn't word
- 54:46it this way because I'm going to hurt this group of people or
- 54:48this, this people, they're, they're going to be like upset
- 54:52by the thing that I'm saying. And it's like, why am I like
- 54:54filtering myself? I would just say it for.
- 54:57Yeah, it's like what? It's like, what am I doing?
- 54:59It's like, no, like I'm not going to do that.
- 55:01I don't want those people as fans anyways.
- 55:03I don't want those people as listeners.
- 55:04I don't want 100%. I don't want you.
- 55:06I don't want you. You're not wanted, you know?
- 55:08So it's just like you, you get, you get me in my music on stage,
- 55:15online. Right here.
- 55:17This is Bryce. You love it or you love it.
- 55:19And you know, if and I respect you, if you hate it, I still
- 55:21respect you. I love it.
- 55:22It's not for you. But, you know, I want to make it
- 55:25clear where I am, you know, so people are clear with how they
- 55:28feel about me. I fucking love that.
- 55:30And I honestly, I would like to be like very polarizing too.
- 55:33And I love how you're saying it because, like, it's important
- 55:35that you stand firm in your identity.
- 55:37Yeah. And can I tell you something?
- 55:38Please do. Oh, my God.
- 55:40I love you, boys. So fucking beautiful.
- 55:42Thank you. It is so gorgeous.
- 55:44And I that's that's your Best Song.
- 55:45Thank you. Honestly, do you really think
- 55:47so? I do and also I love you boy
- 55:49harder. Thank, yes.
- 55:52Yeah, it's been out for a month now.
- 55:53I. Know it's it's it's really
- 55:55insane that it's out because making that version after.
- 55:59I mean, it's so drastically. I know they're so different.
- 56:02They're so different, Yeah. And it's, it's a little tease.
- 56:05So like what this like albums gonna be like, which I'm like
- 56:08really excited about because I, I made harder first.
- 56:14No, but like a lot of the influences of harder, like we
- 56:16made it, it's a completely different song.
- 56:18And then we were just like, you know, these lyrics, the way that
- 56:20I wrote the song, it wants to be a ballad and I want to let it be
- 56:23that. But then afterwards, once we had
- 56:25it out, I worked on harder a bit more and like showed it to like
- 56:29my like team, like the NT label. And they're like, you know, we
- 56:33really love this too. They were like, we really love
- 56:35this. And they're like, it might be
- 56:36like insane. We don't know what they both
- 56:38people are going to think about this.
- 56:40Yeah, they both exist. And again, I think that's why I
- 56:44am still able to do what I do after all these years is that
- 56:48like I really do think I have like an audience and listening
- 56:50group of people that like really just like support me as an
- 56:53artist and the music that I do. So I never really feel like too
- 56:56pressured to like be in a box or like keep making the same type
- 56:59of song, same type of music, same type of stuff.
- 57:01And honestly, there's a lot of evolution in your music, too,
- 57:03from Romeo to where you are today.
- 57:04Yeah, yeah. And everything you have coming
- 57:06out. So I want to clear the rumors.
- 57:09We can set the record straight right now.
- 57:10So I Love You Boy is about your boyfriend, MJ, Correct.
- 57:13Can you tell us a story about writing I Love You Boy because
- 57:15it's such a deeply personal song to work your story with each
- 57:18other. Yeah, it's so beautiful.
- 57:20So the day that I wrote I love you, boy, I was just at my like
- 57:26main executive producer for the project that works on
- 57:28everything, it seems. Drew Pearson.
- 57:30I love that man so much. He we start every session just
- 57:34like talking mostly and like catching up, even though we see
- 57:37each other so many times in a model.
- 57:39Oh, he's. Incredible.
- 57:39He's working with Ke$ha. Yes, yes, yes.
- 57:41I was like, that name's so familiar.
- 57:43Yes. Yeah, he just, he just worked on
- 57:45Ke$ha's record. Yeah.
- 57:46And with rabble, like so, like so many amazing people.
- 57:49Yeah. And we, we made so, so, so many
- 57:53of these, like 90% of the albums and songs we made together.
- 57:57Oh my God, that's incredible. So we start every session just
- 58:02like catching up with each other, talking about stuff.
- 58:04I feel like we both lead really crazy lives, really funny
- 58:06stories. And then that day we just were
- 58:09really talking about the fact that like we felt like the
- 58:11record needed pretty song. Like we were just like an
- 58:15undeniably like pretty song. We were talking about like what
- 58:18it should be about, you know? And he was just like, like when
- 58:20you think of like it's so fucking cheesy.
- 58:23And he was like, when you think like what?
- 58:24When you think pretty, when you think beautiful, like what comes
- 58:26to mind? I was like my boyfriend, you
- 58:28know, I was like, that's like the like the first thought that
- 58:31Jen, that's like a. Journal.
- 58:32Entry. I know, I know.
- 58:34That's why I'm like, it's so cheesy and I was like, no one's
- 58:36gonna take me serious but. I, like you, just own.
- 58:39It it really. I'm trying.
- 58:41I mean, Bryce, that was a bar thing, yeah.
- 58:47Yeah, so, so we he was just like, let's stay there.
- 58:50And like we stopped. We stopped talking when he when
- 58:53we both feel like we got the thing, we stopped talking
- 58:56because we're like, let's not overcomplicate it and try to
- 58:59change our mind and idea like if it makes sense, let's start
- 59:01there. He went over to his Juno,
- 59:03started playing with that synth and started playing that like
- 59:06intro, like first like couple like chords that you hear.
- 59:09And I just was like, oh, like, there's nothing more beautiful
- 59:13to me in my life than like the story of my relationship.
- 59:15Honestly. Like we, we've went through so
- 59:19much to be together. Like his, the Internet, his
- 59:23family life during a global pandemic.
- 59:27Like there was just so many things that were like against us
- 59:30working and we made it happen at 18.
- 59:34Like it's like we're like, we're both 23 now.
- 59:36It's like our five years is about to grab it.
- 59:40And yeah. And it's just like, really,
- 59:45really, really, really beautiful.
- 59:47And I'm really proud of us just as people that through such core
- 59:51stages of our life, we were able to find a way to grow together.
- 59:53And that's why I say it in like the second verse, you know, like
- 59:56we like, both were able to like, grow and build this foundation
- 59:59while we didn't even know who we were.
- 1:00:01Like, like, we didn't. I didn't know who I was at 8.
- 1:00:03I. Still barely know who I am now
- 1:00:05is 20. Three, you shouldn't know who
- 1:00:06you are right now. That's the thing, I feel like we
- 1:00:08both accept that. I think a lot of people don't
- 1:00:10accept that. They always want to feel like
- 1:00:11they're in control of their life, like in charge and stuff.
- 1:00:14And I really am free with the fact that everything is always
- 1:00:18changing. Yeah, same.
- 1:00:19I have no idea what the fuck is going.
- 1:00:20On. I don't know why I think that's.
- 1:00:23I have no idea, no clue. I have nothing else to say
- 1:00:26except for that I don't know what's ever going on and what's
- 1:00:28happening. Yeah.
- 1:00:29And I feel like I think we need to know.
- 1:00:31We don't need to know. We don't need to know.
- 1:00:33And I think that's like the mystery of life for us.
- 1:00:35You know, it's like I also want to experience my days for the
- 1:00:39first time instead of just making, instead of trying to
- 1:00:42plan ahead and sort of trying to think ahead of like all these
- 1:00:44things and overcomplicate it, you know?
- 1:00:46So I think I'm really proud. I know I'm really proud of both
- 1:00:50of us for being able to do that. And this song was just like my
- 1:00:53love letter to that. It's so beautiful and I love
- 1:00:56them, my boy. I love that you're throwing it
- 1:00:57on like these scenes with these shows and the movies, 'cause
- 1:01:00they're honestly like they're synchronized so well.
- 1:01:03Yeah. Someone, someone made an edit of
- 1:01:05it to heart stopper and I was like oh that's so sick.
- 1:01:07So I was like I want to make one.
- 1:01:08I love making edits guys. That's that's my guilty
- 1:01:11pleasure. I don't have an edits account.
- 1:01:13I don't. I make $0.00 from it.
- 1:01:16Honestly, it deducts dollars from me because of the amount of
- 1:01:18hours I spend on it. And I will find my little gay
- 1:01:22cheesy ROM cod. You put a gay ROM cod in front,
- 1:01:25you put anyone in. You put shitty TV in front of
- 1:01:27me. And I'll watch it.
- 1:01:28You're gonna. Eat that shit up.
- 1:01:28I will never on the last drop, you know, So I'm it's just like
- 1:01:34picture me just like on my stomach, like legs up in bed and
- 1:01:37I'm just like editing like heart.
- 1:01:39Stuff kicking your feet. Editing Red, white and royal
- 1:01:42blue, Young Royals. I'm like all the gay stuff and
- 1:01:46I'm like my song, my song. But then I sort of boosting
- 1:01:49them. They were getting like hundreds
- 1:01:50of thousands of views and it's like now my song streaming and
- 1:01:54doing very well, I mean. They need to start syncing the
- 1:01:56song. Too.
- 1:01:58I know, let's. Make that happen manifesting.
- 1:01:59That you know that that is what I'm manifesting because I'm just
- 1:02:02like, the people want it. How do people want it?
- 1:02:05Like, yeah, the proof is in the pudding.
- 1:02:06Proof is literally like music supervisors for Netflix and
- 1:02:10Heart stopper go to the numbers don't lie.
- 1:02:13I know you guys love your number.
- 1:02:16Let them know. Yeah.
- 1:02:16Please contact Gigi so we can get something going.
- 1:02:19Yes. And honestly, you should.
- 1:02:22I don't know. Have you considered this?
- 1:02:24I don't know if I've seen it, but have you synced it to your
- 1:02:27character on Mind Your Business, AJ?
- 1:02:29You know, it didn't happen in Season 1, Season 2, but the
- 1:02:33futures. Well, let's talk about your
- 1:02:35acting, the future. Yeah.
- 1:02:37So you're on mind your business right now.
- 1:02:39And the new season just started. Yes.
- 1:02:41Yes. So what's that like playing this
- 1:02:42character? Obviously, you're so deeply
- 1:02:44involved as an artist. Yeah, but you also act.
- 1:02:47Yeah, yeah. So it was honestly, this is one
- 1:02:51of the easiest rules I've ever done because let me walk you
- 1:02:53through it, OK? A few years ago, yes.
- 1:02:56I get a call from a casting director that I knew.
- 1:02:59And she was like, hey, are you free in an hour?
- 1:03:02I want to get you on this Zoom. And I was like, yeah, like, I'm
- 1:03:06free. I, in fact, was not free.
- 1:03:08Like, I'm a be free. I was like, on a shoot at that.
- 1:03:11Point for a video. And I like told them, I was
- 1:03:13like, we're going to we're going to move lunch.
- 1:03:15I was like, we're going to move lunch, mind you.
- 1:03:17Lunch is in an hour it. Was like, it was like 930, ten
- 1:03:19in the morning when I had to do this.
- 1:03:21I was like, we're going 2-3 hours early, we're moving lunch,
- 1:03:24it's breakfast. OK.
- 1:03:26I took this meeting and basically I was with the
- 1:03:29writers, I was with the director, I was with two of the
- 1:03:31producers and they told me they were like, Hey, we wrote this
- 1:03:34character around you. They were like, we, we like, we
- 1:03:38are fans of like your work and like like TikTok and your music
- 1:03:41career and all of this stuff. And we were like, oh, we need,
- 1:03:44we want a character that's like Bryce Xavier, you know, and they
- 1:03:47were doing these castings and they were just like it.
- 1:03:50It's like my little like toot my horn moment.
- 1:03:52They were like, why don't we just get Bryce Xavier?
- 1:03:54Like they're like, they were like, like.
- 1:03:56Why? Don't we just get him instead of
- 1:03:58having someone do it? I was like, guys, you should
- 1:04:00have just started there. But anyway, I was like these
- 1:04:02poor boys. Flashbacks to wicked auditions.
- 1:04:07I know. Go ahead.
- 1:04:09Our drama. That was us.
- 1:04:11Like it's OK, it's forgiven. Now damn, I'm the villain in
- 1:04:17other people's story. You're the villain in my story.
- 1:04:20This show's actually a confrontation.
- 1:04:21Oh, my. Yeah, You've done a lot of
- 1:04:24damage to me. Too soon.
- 1:04:29Sorry. You know girl.
- 1:04:31I'm still dealing with it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:33Maybe we'll get through this press roll out for the next
- 1:04:35movie, and then I'll start make the jokes.
- 1:04:36OK, we'll do it then. Sorry, I get on this call and
- 1:04:40they're telling me they're like, hey, this is this is basically
- 1:04:43the run of the show. They were like, we want this
- 1:04:45like character that's like young helping his family with the
- 1:04:48family business, but helping them with the approach of social
- 1:04:50media because that is what so many family business are doing
- 1:04:53right now. That wasn't a thing 20 years
- 1:04:55ago. They didn't have to worry about
- 1:04:56Yelp pages and Tik Toks and Instagram and making marketing
- 1:04:59campaigns, you know, So like we want to showcase that type of
- 1:05:02character because that's probably what's happening for
- 1:05:05all of these companies, you know, and they're like, we want
- 1:05:08you to do it. So they had me read that day and
- 1:05:10then like the next day they were like, you got it.
- 1:05:12And I talked with my music team and I was like, hey, I was like,
- 1:05:15I don't think this is going to conflict.
- 1:05:17Do you know? I was like, it's not like I have
- 1:05:19to get like in a really like insane headspace.
- 1:05:20Like they want me to be Bryce. Like that's I'm getting paid to
- 1:05:24be a different version of myself, you know?
- 1:05:26Absolutely. But I feel like.
- 1:05:28Within the character and within Aji get to experiment with
- 1:05:33things I would do. Like I get to like to approach
- 1:05:36things in a way that I actually wouldn't, but maybe like an
- 1:05:38alternate timeline Bryce Xavier would, if that.
- 1:05:41Makes sense. It's like.
- 1:05:41This Me and the Multiverse did it, you know, Right?
- 1:05:44Yeah. Me and the DCU.
- 1:05:45OK. Yes, and the Duluth Cinematic
- 1:05:46Universe. You could be with whoever you
- 1:05:48want to be. Yes, exactly.
- 1:05:50So I get to have fun with it too.
- 1:05:52Like I, I it's like an extension of myself.
- 1:05:54It's like a friend that's very close, but not too close, yeah.
- 1:05:59You're like, I know him though. But I know him right?
- 1:06:02Oh my God are going to be more acting projects.
- 1:06:04Hopefully, you know, there's Oh my gosh, let's let's do some
- 1:06:07manifesting. Let's do it.
- 1:06:08Beast Boy, Beast Boy, Beast Boy is on my list of that.
- 1:06:11You're so beast boy. I would love that.
- 1:06:13That would be. So cool, I could see you doing
- 1:06:15talk to me. I can see you as like a power
- 1:06:18Ranger. All my would you be down?
- 1:06:22I would be so down. I'm like getting a vibe.
- 1:06:24It's like a drum roll for you. Does.
- 1:06:25That really give you OK, OK. I got I have a I have a feeling.
- 1:06:28If I was one, yeah, I would want to be like the first black red
- 1:06:32Ranger in a movie. That would that would be that
- 1:06:35would be really sick. You are yours, you know.
- 1:06:37Yeah. Yes, yes, I feel like it was
- 1:06:39already mine in a life. I feel like.
- 1:06:45It was still yours. I feel like it's still.
- 1:06:47Yours, you know, Thank you. Yes, we're.
- 1:06:49Going to see you doing exactly that.
- 1:06:51Yes, this project will manifest. It's going to happen.
- 1:06:55It really happened. Congratulations.
- 1:06:57Thank you. Yeah, thank you.
- 1:06:58I'm actually on my press tour right now.
- 1:06:59This is, what, a tour? Yeah.
- 1:07:01Oh, my God. So power just was lovely.
- 1:07:03Tell us about being the first black Red Ranger.
- 1:07:07Such a thrilling experience. I'm sure.
- 1:07:09Oh my God, and you were so excellent in it.
- 1:07:11I know, did you like my kicks? I loved it.
- 1:07:13I just kicked. My drink over, I kicked both of.
- 1:07:18Them over that was a that was a good kick.
- 1:07:20So Power Rangers casting directors, you saw it right
- 1:07:23here. One of Bros hit me up.
- 1:07:26Let's circle back. Let's circle back to that.
- 1:07:29Let's touch base. Let's.
- 1:07:31Touch base. Yes, yes, yes, absolutely.
- 1:07:33Hit up Gigi. Yes.
- 1:07:34OK. Well, congratulations on all of
- 1:07:36that. And honestly, with AJ and
- 1:07:39acting, so how would you differentiate from your music?
- 1:07:41So you said AJ is essentially still you.
- 1:07:43Yeah, yeah. Your music is entirely Bryce
- 1:07:45Xavier, though. So when you're doing your
- 1:07:48projects like, how are you separating that?
- 1:07:50Well, it's so funny because I've really got to be Hannah Montana.
- 1:07:53Like my hair gets dyed on the so it's temporary brown dye that I
- 1:07:56put in every single day. So like I would show up during
- 1:08:00filming most times blonde and then I would leave brunette.
- 1:08:05That's. Crazy show up and I'm Bryce and
- 1:08:06they transform me and I'm like OK I'm.
- 1:08:08Locked. Wait, are they covering her with
- 1:08:09tattoos? Yeah, OK.
- 1:08:10That's why I noticed. Too Tattoos all got covered up,
- 1:08:13hair was changed. I'm playing 16, almost 17 so.
- 1:08:16Got it, got it, got it. Bless you, Bryce.
- 1:08:22Thank you. That was also for you, Gigi.
- 1:08:26Sneeze is for her. And you be sneezing on this
- 1:08:31show. Absolutely.
- 1:08:33Well, shout out, Gigi, but yeah, I noticed that right now you
- 1:08:37were in a pink era. Could we talk about this pink
- 1:08:39era? Yes, yes.
- 1:08:41What's? Going on over here.
- 1:08:42I It's just everything's better in pink.
- 1:08:45Everything's better in. Pink.
- 1:08:46Yeah, it just really everything's better in pink
- 1:08:48yeah, I really agree with that. I.
- 1:08:50Can you like extrapolate on that?
- 1:08:52What does that mean I. Pink to me and me having pink
- 1:08:57hair period in general is just like a guy, like a person.
- 1:09:01Like it's so funny because I feel like I'm in such a world of
- 1:09:06I'm in a box. I'm in a box when I'm on my
- 1:09:08Internet, when I go on my TikTok and I'm posting my videos and
- 1:09:11there's 10s of thousands of people that are like down with
- 1:09:14what I'm doing. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:15And then I also remember like, oh, yeah, cool.
- 1:09:17But like there's like millions of people that like, don't know
- 1:09:20who the hell I am. And I'm just that random boy
- 1:09:22with a prank pink Afro, like walking in the grocery store.
- 1:09:24Yeah. And I get looks from so many
- 1:09:26people like you. Oh, gosh.
- 1:09:29It's really, you wouldn't think, you wouldn't think in LA.
- 1:09:31You would not think in LA whatsoever.
- 1:09:33But it's like, I live in the Valley.
- 1:09:35So it's like it's, it is a little bit of like a difference
- 1:09:38and even like my neighborhood's really quiet, really chill, very
- 1:09:41much like families and stuff like that.
- 1:09:43But I'm spotted. I'm I'm spotted.
- 1:09:48I mean, you're meant what? You confusing me with you get
- 1:09:50what I'm telling you What? I'm just walking.
- 1:09:52I don't know any other pink outfit half of a person.
- 1:09:55It's Bryce Xavier. It's Bryce Xavier, you know, so
- 1:09:58I feel like it, it's won a statement for me.
- 1:10:01That's so cool where it's just like, you know, a part of that
- 1:10:03brand recognition where it's just like, oh, like I, I love
- 1:10:06being seen too. Like like, like as much as
- 1:10:08you're like to be seen, There's so many guys that I see that
- 1:10:10will give me dirty looks. It's like they're looking at my
- 1:10:12hair, look at my outfit, one of my nails painted most times and
- 1:10:15I'm like. I never got.
- 1:10:16Them like really? No, I'm like I love it.
- 1:10:19So that was Gaggy. Clip that, clip that into him.
- 1:10:27You heard it, Brad. You heard it, Brad.
- 1:10:28Yeah, yeah. No, but it, it like it fuels me.
- 1:10:32That's my pettiness. Maybe that's my engine.
- 1:10:34It fuels me when someone's being petty to me and it doesn't work
- 1:10:38'cause I'm like, Oh no, you thought I love petty.
- 1:10:40You thought I was different. No, I'm like, wow, like I really
- 1:10:44bothered your day by being me. Being polarizing is the best,
- 1:10:49genuinely. It's so good, it's so great.
- 1:10:51But yeah, this pink era is about being seen.
- 1:10:55It's about being me. It's about my favorite colour.
- 1:10:58My favorite colour is pink, and it's always been my favorite
- 1:11:00colour. And I, I wouldn't have had the
- 1:11:03guts to do this as a kid, you know?
- 1:11:04Kids are great on you. Kids are rude, you know.
- 1:11:06Oh. Yeah, they're Rudy Patootie.
- 1:11:07They're so rude. My biggest fear is kids so.
- 1:11:10I don't blame you. Yeah, fuck them kids.
- 1:11:15I stand on that. I don't give a fuck.
- 1:11:16I hate kids. I mean I I am a big fan of Kidz
- 1:11:23Bop season 27. Wow, wow.
- 1:11:26You really just pulled that out of here.
- 1:11:29You really just did. I love we.
- 1:11:30Love kidz bop. Well, specifically 27.
- 1:11:35We love Greg Kanoki. Ohhh yeah hi Grant Kanoki.
- 1:11:40Hi Mrs. Kanoki. She's so cute, she comments on
- 1:11:44his. Episode no So.
- 1:11:45Gigi Gigi should comments on this episode.
- 1:11:48No, she should, she should, she will.
- 1:11:49She also loves Grant and his Mama.
- 1:11:51Ohh too. Yeah, great.
- 1:11:53Oh my God, this is so fun. We're having a little baby.
- 1:11:55Gay alum I. Know like you guys don't even
- 1:11:59know what's happening on the other side of the camera.
- 1:12:02We got another piece. We got another piece of the
- 1:12:04puzzle. Here, there's a lot of lore
- 1:12:05going on here. Besties, after we finish this
- 1:12:07episode, go watch Grant's on Delulu and then also watch Bryce
- 1:12:11and I and Grant on Baby Gay. Please do.
- 1:12:16OK, Well, I feel like this pink era that you're in, honestly,
- 1:12:20you've been Easter egging it. You've been kind of ambiguous
- 1:12:22with it. So I'm just going to ask, is
- 1:12:23this tying into your music? Yeah, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:28I, I think it's like the, it's always been the coolest thing to
- 1:12:31me when like an artist like drops like a new hairstyle and
- 1:12:34like, you know, shit's coming. Like, you know, shit's coming.
- 1:12:36I feel like, like, like in like the early 2000 tens, like a lot
- 1:12:39of it would always be a coloured Bob.
- 1:12:41I, I don't know, like I don't know what it would be.
- 1:12:43Jessie J, Katy Perry, all these girls, It would be like a purple
- 1:12:45Bob. They show up.
- 1:12:46On a carpet and a new hair colour over 1 gag Yeah over
- 1:12:50it's. Coming Jessie about to be like.
- 1:12:51No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:12:53On the V, it's about to be crazy.
- 1:12:55That's what you got to do for the speaker.
- 1:12:57That's I'm like I. Love you but but but.
- 1:13:02So I was talking to my team and I was like, you know, I was
- 1:13:04like, I, we, I've changed my hair so much, like even probably
- 1:13:09since you've noted me, I've had so many hairstyles, like I do so
- 1:13:12much to my hair. And I've got a lot of errors,
- 1:13:14yeah. I have and I was like, you know,
- 1:13:15what's my favorite? What does the music sound like?
- 1:13:18What does the music feel like? And what do I think it would
- 1:13:21look like if someone was listening?
- 1:13:22Because, yeah, I feel like it's like my job as an artist and a
- 1:13:25creative when I'm putting out this body and piece of work.
- 1:13:27Like, I really do want the story to make sense and I want it to
- 1:13:30all be cohesive together. And I really, really do just
- 1:13:33have so much pride into that. And Pink just was the thing that
- 1:13:38just kept settling on, you know, we went over some, like, cover
- 1:13:41art shit for, like, some stuff coming.
- 1:13:45Yeah, some records. Oh my God.
- 1:13:48Yeah. So I have the next single coming
- 1:13:52out which is like. Next month, right?
- 1:13:54October. Yeah, it's the one.
- 1:13:55I'm like, I'm really stoked. Hold on real quick.
- 1:13:58I'm gonna, I'm just gonna show you something.
- 1:14:00OK? Please show me.
- 1:14:01I'm just gonna show you. Well, I'm gonna tell you while
- 1:14:04you're pulling that up as a creative, I'm a giant fucking
- 1:14:07fan of world building. And what you're describing right
- 1:14:09now with the pink, like creating that world, like I love it, like
- 1:14:12I want to live in it, You know what I mean?
- 1:14:14Yeah, yeah. It is better in pink.
- 1:14:16It's. Everything's better in pink.
- 1:14:18Everything's better in I. Would say OK I have to show you.
- 1:14:21Oh my God, wait. Wait.
- 1:14:22OK, you have to. You have to bleep this, though.
- 1:14:25You have to bleep what I'm going to say right now.
- 1:14:26OK, so the song's called The Lulu.
- 1:14:29OK, and then this. Oh my God, I fucking wait.
- 1:14:34We're not, we're not showing. I'm.
- 1:14:35Gags No no. I fucking love that.
- 1:14:39I love that I had a very similar concept for season 2 of Tululu.
- 1:14:43We're not doing it anymore. Oh, sorry.
- 1:14:45Well, no, you could do it. OK.
- 1:14:47I'm giving you. No, you should do it.
- 1:14:49OK. You have to.
- 1:14:49You have to do it the other way, though.
- 1:14:50OK. Got you.
- 1:14:51You know what? Got you?
- 1:14:53Got you. You know, You know.
- 1:14:54Yeah. I am gagged everyone when you
- 1:14:56see it when you're. It's coming soon though, yes.
- 1:14:58Yes, it's. Coming soon so you'll see it.
- 1:15:00It's so sick. What do you see about the
- 1:15:01crumbs? You can't.
- 1:15:03You can't give them. Can't give it all, can't give
- 1:15:05it. All can't give it all.
- 1:15:06We need a 5 second intro. We need a four point we.
- 1:15:09Need a wow that and that's that's the five second intro
- 1:15:12that that is the 5 second intro song.
- 1:15:14It is. It is this one that is, that is.
- 1:15:17That's we were talking about this right before we started my
- 1:15:19team. 'S like arguing about a 5 second
- 1:15:20intro for like the last three fucking hours in the group chat.
- 1:15:24I had to mute it. I had to mute it because I'm
- 1:15:26like, guys, it can't be that serious.
- 1:15:27You know what I said we should cut it, but now I'm on board of
- 1:15:30keeping it there. You.
- 1:15:32Go, that's why you argue with your ANR.
- 1:15:33That right? No, I'm literally that's why you
- 1:15:35argue with your ANR. You gotta you gotta double down
- 1:15:38because double they might not see the vision at 1st.
- 1:15:40And now I got you in. Absolutely.
- 1:15:41I got you into the I mean, it's your vision.
- 1:15:42You know what's best? You know, you're like, no T, no
- 1:15:46shade. No T, no shade.
- 1:15:48I mean, you're the one in the pink.
- 1:15:49Yes, yes, there you go. You gotta do pink.
- 1:15:52I'm gonna do pink Wait please no dead ass.
- 1:15:54I told my hair person I was like, next time I come in we're
- 1:15:56going to do like strawberry blonde highlights, which I
- 1:15:59should have done for this. OK, yeah, I love that.
- 1:16:01OK. So you're going to go brighter
- 1:16:02with that? I definitely am.
- 1:16:03Yeah. You know, I wanted to go like
- 1:16:04this, like I'm wearing a hat right now.
- 1:16:06But yeah, I did my hair like darker for season 2, which is,
- 1:16:09which is what you're on right now, which is Dilulu After Dark.
- 1:16:11And it's meant to be like darker edgier, like villain era, you
- 1:16:14know what I mean? Like, if they want me to be the
- 1:16:16bad guy, I will. So here we are.
- 1:16:20And we'll, we'll see what's up. I.
- 1:16:25Already know he's he's going to be editing this episode.
- 1:16:29He's back there. He's fine.
- 1:16:32OK, good, good, good, good. OK.
- 1:16:34So I love the pink hair. I love this pink era.
- 1:16:37We're so excited. So this song is coming in
- 1:16:39October. Do we have a date yet?
- 1:16:40Can we talk about that or we just know October?
- 1:16:42October, October and and some other fun stuff along with.
- 1:16:45It, I mean you performed it when you were doing your shows in
- 1:16:47September, right? I didn't actually I.
- 1:16:49Didn't. Why not?
- 1:16:50I was a whole. It was a holdout.
- 1:16:52It was a holdout, yeah. But but I do, I do have another
- 1:16:54show that's coming up still like in in a week from now actually,
- 1:16:58and that'll be the first time performing it live.
- 1:17:00Who would debut? Yes, I did perform a lot of like
- 1:17:05a good amount of unreleased music though in New York for
- 1:17:07those shows though, which was really fun.
- 1:17:09I love when I'm deciding on what is or isn't coming out to just
- 1:17:13perform it like that's always my go to.
- 1:17:16So I'm like, just do it. See the response.
- 1:17:17You really, really can tell so quickly.
- 1:17:19Like what? What gets people like what
- 1:17:22doesn't, you know? Totally.
- 1:17:23I'm on the fence about it. It's like I'm fine to cut and
- 1:17:26move on, you know? I have so many songs.
- 1:17:28I made 121 songs for this album, for this project to cut down to
- 1:17:3412. Yeah.
- 1:17:35Shut the hell up. Yeah.
- 1:17:36In the last year. Oh my God, that's crazy.
- 1:17:38It's like killing your darlings. Yeah, I know.
- 1:17:41Me and Drew, we, we, we were, we were just having so much.
- 1:17:44Fun wait is I love you boy. This is for sure on the project.
- 1:17:46Yeah, yeah, 100 percent, 100%. That was that was my favorite
- 1:17:50song that Drew Drew and I ever made.
- 1:17:52Yeah, it wasn't even, it wasn't even the first song that maybe
- 1:17:54it was probably like the 14th, 15th song or something that we
- 1:17:57made, but it was our first release together.
- 1:17:59Yeah, which has been so great. I love that man.
- 1:18:01Oh my God. Yeah.
- 1:18:02And that song's so good. I'm happy it has a home because
- 1:18:04I I. Want using a home?
- 1:18:05No it will. It's not going anywhere.
- 1:18:08So I need to tell you this about your last project.
- 1:18:10It's been a good game. The rollout that you did for it
- 1:18:13was so good. Thank you fucking visually and
- 1:18:15artistically. Like I was, by the way, I
- 1:18:18witnessed this rollout in real time because I was following
- 1:18:20you, of course, and I was watching you do it and I was
- 1:18:22like, this is so fucking thank you.
- 1:18:25The visuals, everything. You're such a great artist, just
- 1:18:28in the world and just in the sense of world building.
- 1:18:31Yeah. Thank you.
- 1:18:32Yeah. And I want to give you your
- 1:18:33credit for that. Thank you.
- 1:18:34No, that one was so much fun. Like that concept was like like
- 1:18:394 years in the making. It was like the longest thing
- 1:18:41and it wasn't. It wasn't even because I was
- 1:18:43like wrestling with the fact if I was going to do it, yeah, I
- 1:18:45was just like, when I do it, I know how I want.
- 1:18:48I want it to be done right, you know?
- 1:18:49So I was like. So I was like looking for my
- 1:18:51right director and I, my director found me actually for
- 1:18:55all of those videos and stuff like you don't take your track
- 1:18:57DM D me and was like, Hey, like I want to work and do something.
- 1:19:00And I was like looking at his work.
- 1:19:02Roberto, I love you so much. And I was like, you are exact.
- 1:19:05That's exactly what I need. That's exactly what I wanted.
- 1:19:08You know, we did that first see me like her video, which was
- 1:19:10like so beautiful duality of man video afterwards were so great.
- 1:19:14And I just I'm really grateful that I have a team that trusts
- 1:19:17me to creative direct myself, because there's a lot of teams
- 1:19:20that are like, no, just be the artist.
- 1:19:22We're going to hire someone and bring someone in, you know, and
- 1:19:24that wasn't type of thought and question that I was having with
- 1:19:27my team a lot about they were like, you know, maybe we bring
- 1:19:30someone in so you don't have to worry about him.
- 1:19:32Like, no, like I it's not a worry.
- 1:19:34Like I love this. Like I love doing this shit.
- 1:19:36Like this is a big part of it to me, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:19:38Like it's me being in it and being invested with it, you
- 1:19:41know? Yeah, because at the end of the
- 1:19:42day, like no one's gonna know the intricacies of my brain.
- 1:19:45Yeah. And also it's kind of an art and
- 1:19:46it's you and you're front facing.
- 1:19:48Yeah, I love that. Yeah, it was.
- 1:19:49So much fun. My favorite part of it was the
- 1:19:51Fortnite map like that was that was crazy like they like reached
- 1:19:54out to me and they were like, hey, someone on the team like
- 1:19:56loves the music and like we would love to make Fortnite map
- 1:19:58for you and I was like. This is insane.
- 1:20:00My game and this is like a thing that like I don't even post
- 1:20:03about like I game every single night with my friends like me
- 1:20:06and my best friends like totally.
- 1:20:07Manifesting on the low low. I, I said that year I couldn't
- 1:20:13wait till like I got my like Fortnite map and like skin and
- 1:20:16like all this. Maybe you were laughing about it
- 1:20:17'cause I was just like, yeah, like I'm sure like maybe I'll
- 1:20:19get like a song like in the game or something like that.
- 1:20:21And they're like, no, like we would have make this full map
- 1:20:23for you. We'll create a bat and put the
- 1:20:24whole record inside of it. And I got to sit and work with
- 1:20:27the entire team and like develop a map for like eight months of
- 1:20:32like exactly what I wanted it to be everything.
- 1:20:35Like I, it was really beautiful too, because like I told you
- 1:20:38about like me, like wanting to be like an architect.
- 1:20:40I like used like some like softwares like designed the map
- 1:20:43like how I wanted the buildings and stuff to look for it and
- 1:20:46then gave it to the team. So it was really, it was really
- 1:20:48collaborative and it was really, really fun to do.
- 1:20:50And it was fun because like all of my best friends got to like
- 1:20:54be a part of like my roll out. We did like a like it was my
- 1:20:57first gaming stream like with like fans playing the like Matt
- 1:21:00for the first time and we were listening to the songs all
- 1:21:03together on release day. So yeah, that.
- 1:21:06That all of that. I love A roll out.
- 1:21:07That it was so fun. I love.
- 1:21:08That's going to be better though.
- 1:21:09I'm super. That's going to be better.
- 1:21:11Because like you set the bar really high with.
- 1:21:13More physical, tangible things. That was my thing.
- 1:21:15I didn't have the last one because it was an EP and it
- 1:21:17wasn't going to be an album, but I was like, you know, I like.
- 1:21:20I want you're going in I. Want all of these, like I want
- 1:21:22these things that people can hold and take with them through
- 1:21:26the many stages of their life because I have those for my
- 1:21:28favorite artist, you know? Like, I've moved eight different
- 1:21:31houses with things as like my favorite artist that I've
- 1:21:33carried with me all these years, you know?
- 1:21:35It's a lot of merchandise towards like this era.
- 1:21:37Yeah, yeah, I'm a big fan of merch.
- 1:21:38So guys, if you want to get your delulu merch you can too.
- 1:21:43I'm checking on the link in my bio and I'd appreciate if you
- 1:21:45would support. Please, I'm buying when I get
- 1:21:48home. Thank you.
- 1:21:48Oh my God, you don't have to. But right now, please actually
- 1:21:51do. You don't have to, but fucking.
- 1:21:54Do it. I would never pressure anyone to
- 1:21:56buy the merch but Lincoln Bio. Yes.
- 1:22:00What kind of suggestion? I wouldn't, I wouldn't stop you.
- 1:22:03I would never stop you. OK, Well, Bryce, I, I don't know
- 1:22:06how to phrase this question because I do have it, but I want
- 1:22:09to say lottery music. I don't even want to say your
- 1:22:11lottery music is queer coded because it's just you and it's
- 1:22:14you telling your truth and your story, right?
- 1:22:17But now when you have your queer music and you're doing the Pride
- 1:22:20shows, would you say the Pride shows are like your favorite
- 1:22:22ones? Because I think the energy there
- 1:22:23is like incomparable, just being in the audience.
- 1:22:25By the way, I've never performed the Pride.
- 1:22:26Show. Yeah.
- 1:22:26No, no, no. I.
- 1:22:29You're like, fuck them. No, no.
- 1:22:30No, no, no, no. You know, it just got so gagged
- 1:22:34in terror. He said he was going to do it,
- 1:22:36guys, I'm telling you, he warned us.
- 1:22:39And I've been thinking of the guts, but I should have known.
- 1:22:41Tululu Tulu. No, no.
- 1:22:45And This is why you don't challenge gay people.
- 1:22:48This is that was that was literally your last fun
- 1:22:50straight. You're welcome.
- 1:22:52You're welcome. Tululu.
- 1:22:57Wow. Bryce, can you?
- 1:22:58Say, why would you call me that? He asked me to be on this show
- 1:23:01and that's what I get it called. That's actually why we asked you
- 1:23:04to be on the show. He was like, you're doing too
- 1:23:07good humbles. Honestly, I needed been there.
- 1:23:13No, I love, I love it. I my my reasoning was because I
- 1:23:16think they were my favorite shows, not even because they
- 1:23:20were pride shows. I think it was because they were
- 1:23:23shows that like I just have wanted to do like like if that
- 1:23:27makes sense. Like the shows that were on my
- 1:23:29main list wasn't this? Your first we hope ride.
- 1:23:31Yes, Oh my God, Congrats it. Was my first time going to We
- 1:23:34Hope ride and I got to like perform.
- 1:23:37I thought it was like it was, it was just really, really, really
- 1:23:39cool to get like such like a great offer.
- 1:23:43From my music did it. Yes, yeah, we did.
- 1:23:45It was yeah, we, we. It was so funny because like we
- 1:23:49had very similar summer, beginning summer schedules.
- 1:23:53Like he was in London working and doing shows.
- 1:23:57The like couple weeks before I got there, we had two hours.
- 1:24:02We were both in London at the same time and he was at
- 1:24:05Heathrow. He was at the airport and we
- 1:24:06were on the same time and we were texting and I was like I.
- 1:24:09Was like the. Miss.
- 1:24:10Each other. The fates didn't want us there
- 1:24:12at the same time that they didn't.
- 1:24:14They didn't. They were like, you just see
- 1:24:15that. Just see that other gay when you
- 1:24:17get back to LA. OK, well, look at that everyone.
- 1:24:20I know Delulu and Baby Gay alum guests are doing very well.
- 1:24:24We're doing. Phenomenal.
- 1:24:26No, honestly, I'm not performing prize this year.
- 1:24:28Wait, are you really? Yeah, next year.
- 1:24:30Oh hell. Hell yeah.
- 1:24:31Thank. Thank you, Thank you, thank you,
- 1:24:32thank you. I'm so excited.
- 1:24:34I love that hey. Are you gonna come watch?
- 1:24:35Duh. OK, great.
- 1:24:36Thank you. What?
- 1:24:37Yeah, of course I'm gonna be screaming.
- 1:24:39I'm gonna be screaming with my merch on.
- 1:24:40Yeah, I'm gonna have my merch on.
- 1:24:42Oh, my God. Thank you.
- 1:24:43Yeah. No.
- 1:24:43So. Yeah.
- 1:24:44Also so proud of Grant. Like, so proud of all of my
- 1:24:46friends. Like so many of my friends.
- 1:24:48You had such a damn great summer, A great summer.
- 1:24:50And we deserve it. And I'm so proud of like,
- 1:24:53everyone has just been killing it.
- 1:24:54But yeah, it it was so much fun because I always wanted to
- 1:24:59perform. We hope Pride.
- 1:25:00Like, I was like, it just would be like, such.
- 1:25:01It's a gay initiation. You literally manifested that.
- 1:25:03Yeah, so it was just, I think that's why it was like my
- 1:25:06favorite run. I got to do that.
- 1:25:08Got to do Santa Monica Pride, which is really fun.
- 1:25:10Did SF Pride then went to New York.
- 1:25:12Did New York pride. Suzanne Barsh does like a
- 1:25:15Barshland like pride party that she does at the standard at the
- 1:25:19line like Boom boom room, which like is always been like an
- 1:25:22iconic place that I wanted to perform.
- 1:25:25Like I remember seeing videos of like FK twigs, like douche cat
- 1:25:28and all these people like jumping up on the bar just like
- 1:25:30drunk like dancing. And I got to have my little
- 1:25:32superstar moment. I was.
- 1:25:33Going to be like and now Bryce Xavier.
- 1:25:35It was so good because everyone was down to have fun.
- 1:25:39Those are the best shows is when every everyone just wants to
- 1:25:42have a good time and they were just down and you give them
- 1:25:45energy, they'll give you back energy.
- 1:25:47And it was just so great. I I had such a great summer.
- 1:25:50I need to tell you something. So your stage presence is
- 1:25:53insane, like the way that you're so comfortable with your body
- 1:25:56out there. I hope you know that.
- 1:25:58Thank you. You're incredible.
- 1:25:59Like when you perform, like you're really in it and I love
- 1:26:02that it feels so natural and like watching it is so like
- 1:26:05entertaining 'cause like you're really owning it.
- 1:26:07I have fun. Like, I really like, honestly,
- 1:26:09like I really just have so much fun up there like that.
- 1:26:11That's why it is my favorite part of the process.
- 1:26:14Yeah. Because I'm like, it's like, I
- 1:26:16feel like a kid showing my, like mom, like my like little dance
- 1:26:19routine and like my, like, my like, little songwriting.
- 1:26:22I like prepared. And I'm like, you guys like it.
- 1:26:25I'm like you guys really like. It that is so fucking cute.
- 1:26:28I love that. So it's it's so it, it's, I feel
- 1:26:31like the. Show's a lot of play.
- 1:26:32Yeah, like people are like, damn, like, but on such a great
- 1:26:35show for us, I'm like you guys, you like this for me.
- 1:26:38Like I just like I this is for me, honestly.
- 1:26:41Thank you. I'm beeping for like a week
- 1:26:43after this. I was gonna be doing this
- 1:26:45anyways. You're just here.
- 1:26:47It was gonna be my living. Room where I do this every day.
- 1:26:49Baby, it just happened. We just happen to have an
- 1:26:52audience. Yeah.
- 1:26:52And it wasn't my boyfriend this time in my cast.
- 1:26:55I love that. Oh my God, wait, that's so
- 1:26:57exciting. Yeah, so, so much fun.
- 1:26:59So excited for so many more shows to come yeah and yeah,
- 1:27:02I'm, I'm excited for the beginning of next year.
- 1:27:04So many cities so. Many things where we're looking
- 1:27:07forward to, and we're going to come see you.
- 1:27:08Yeah. Yay.
- 1:27:09OK, Bryce, we're going to play a little game here.
- 1:27:12Oh, gosh. So this is WWADGD.
- 1:27:15What would a Dulu girl do? OK, so the bestianas have
- 1:27:18submitted their questions, concerns, dilemmas and problems,
- 1:27:21and they want our Dulu advice on it.
- 1:27:23So let's do whatever advice you have for them.
- 1:27:25Let's. Let's enrich a life right now.
- 1:27:27OK. Let's do it.
- 1:27:27OK so the first question is from an anonymous bestie.
- 1:27:31They ask my boyfriend who is now my fiance.
- 1:27:34Congratulations, proposed to me with a very expensive ring.
- 1:27:37But it's super ugly. I don't want him to feel bad
- 1:27:39because I love him but it's ugly.
- 1:27:40What should I do? I'm like vain and shallow and
- 1:27:47like materialistic. So I would say, baby, we got to,
- 1:27:50we got to fix that. Yeah, this is my thing.
- 1:27:53It's just like I'm trying to find a nice way to.
- 1:27:56Face, this is like. I would never just accept it if
- 1:28:00I being completely honest, like it being expensive, like damn,
- 1:28:03that sucks. Like you know, like I feel like
- 1:28:05damn, that sucks. Like, I really do feel bad, but
- 1:28:07this is something that like you're going to have to wear.
- 1:28:09Yeah, forever, if you want me to wear that.
- 1:28:12The goal? Is for you to have that forever
- 1:28:13and be with this person and you have to look at it.
- 1:28:16Don't condition yourself to tolerate something that's
- 1:28:19supposed to be. That's what I'm.
- 1:28:21Signifying totem of your like love forever, you know.
- 1:28:24OK, I don't know if this is controversial of me to say, but
- 1:28:27I feel like if they truly knew you they would have known what
- 1:28:30kind of ring. Daggy because that was the first
- 1:28:32thought that came to my brain. Controversial.
- 1:28:34My man would never have to worry about me getting a ring that he
- 1:28:36would have liked. Just saying.
- 1:28:37And I'm so sorry to you because that was really rude and how
- 1:28:40that just came out. But what I meant to say was
- 1:28:43redacted, Redacted. You don't actually have to
- 1:28:46redact it, but right, you're the bad guy.
- 1:28:49I think that there could be an open conversation of maybe we
- 1:28:55pick this next one together because clearly maybe I
- 1:28:59presented myself in a way that is far off for me that you would
- 1:29:01get this ugly ass ring and let's try to work it out.
- 1:29:05We'll fix it. We'll fix it.
- 1:29:07Yeah. We we'll fix you together.
- 1:29:09That's relationship. I love that.
- 1:29:12But bestie, to be honest, like, yeah, don't settle.
- 1:29:14Genuinely don't settle. It's fine.
- 1:29:15They love you. They'll understand.
- 1:29:16They'll completely understand. Really does love you wouldn't
- 1:29:19they're not gonna they're gonna they they.
- 1:29:21They want you to love it, they want you to love it, they want
- 1:29:23you to love it. OK so this one is from a friend
- 1:29:27of mine actually they said my friend and I went to dinner.
- 1:29:31She told me that it was $20.00 so I paid her $20.00 but then
- 1:29:34she said she made a mistake and it's actually $80.00.
- 1:29:37I don't think I owe her any money though because she
- 1:29:39originally said a different price.
- 1:29:40What do I do? OK, so many things unpack here.
- 1:29:44Yeah, let's unpack #1 lots to unpack.
- 1:29:46She's still enrolled in school for how bad that math was.
- 1:29:49That's my number one question. That's just my 1st 20 to 80.
- 1:29:53I mean it's. How do you?
- 1:29:56It's a drastic jump. 1 might be like that's outrageous, right?
- 1:30:00She needs. Gas I like.
- 1:30:02There has to be something good. Really.
- 1:30:03This friend is being egregious. Yeah, well, my response would be
- 1:30:08I would just be like, Oh yeah, sure, no worries.
- 1:30:10Can you just send me the receipt so I know what the difference is
- 1:30:13for? Oh yeah, let me see an itemized
- 1:30:15list on what we're paying. For right now, Doug, because
- 1:30:18clearly you had the receipt to reference.
- 1:30:19If you do, I would do $60.00 more.
- 1:30:21Well, to be honest, on the principle of it, I'd be like,
- 1:30:23girl, you told me it was 20. I paid 20.
- 1:30:25Like, I'm sorry, Like we're not, we're not doing takesy backsies.
- 1:30:29Yeah, Yeah, yeah. That's.
- 1:30:30Crazy. Only a crazy person would ask.
- 1:30:33I'd always reflect the ignorance back because then when they we
- 1:30:35have to like ingest it the second time, they'll be less
- 1:30:39likely to do it another time, you know?
- 1:30:40I'm a big fan of making people, like, understand where it's
- 1:30:44like, hey, you're being unreasonable and like, let's
- 1:30:46make sure we're both acknowledging this.
- 1:30:47Right now I. Love that.
- 1:30:49Yeah, I'm very petty, Betty. Oh my God.
- 1:30:51I think my worst thing about me is like, I have such a wicked
- 1:30:54tongue. Like I speak to cut, like I
- 1:30:57speak to heart. Like if I'm saying something, it
- 1:30:59needs to like, have an impact on them.
- 1:31:01I need them to think about. I need them to be in the shower
- 1:31:03and be like, wow, that really, really got me.
- 1:31:05Wow, that's evil. Yeah.
- 1:31:07Yeah, no, that's evil. But hey.
- 1:31:08That's what I think. Engine.
- 1:31:10Whatever find you feeling me, find your engine.
- 1:31:13It'd be feeling me. Oh yeah, no, I'm literally, I'm
- 1:31:17not even kidding. I think the pettiness like makes
- 1:31:18me go so much harder with my career.
- 1:31:21I love that, honestly, that's that.
- 1:31:23I feel like, again, I feel like you have been giving very rare
- 1:31:26takes that people have said on camera and on Mike
- 1:31:30unapologetically. And that's why I think you're
- 1:31:32also so successful. Thank.
- 1:31:34You. Oh my God.
- 1:31:36Yeah, I know. I'm with it.
- 1:31:37Thank you. Welcome to do Lulu after dark.
- 1:31:40So I love to hear it. Thank you.
- 1:31:42You know what's funny? I was just on a different show
- 1:31:44and I was telling the host I was like, I'm in my villain era.
- 1:31:47And you brought off my brought out my soft side.
- 1:31:49It was baby gay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:53That's so sweet. But I'm on my set now, so hi.
- 1:31:58But now I'm on my. Where's baby gay?
- 1:32:02At where? At the Black Cat Historic Queer
- 1:32:04bar in Silver Lake, CA Everyone please support and stream Baby
- 1:32:10Gay. OK to my friend who asked this
- 1:32:14question, you don't owe them shit.
- 1:32:16Sorry. OK cool, that's my take.
- 1:32:19All right, last question. My best friend and my other
- 1:32:23friend are fighting and I'm caught in the middle.
- 1:32:25But low key, my best friend is in the wrong.
- 1:32:27But I like her so much better. Should I still side with her?
- 1:32:30Yeah. I'm really big on loyalty.
- 1:32:33Absolutely. I don't care if my best friend
- 1:32:34is wrong. I don't care.
- 1:32:35You're right to me, I don't give a fuck.
- 1:32:37This is. My thing.
- 1:32:39This is my thing, especially if it's a thing that has nothing to
- 1:32:42do with you. That's my first thing that
- 1:32:44caught my attention, that it doesn't matter.
- 1:32:45I'm out of it, period. Like I'm like, I have.
- 1:32:47I have nothing to do with that. What's?
- 1:32:49I'm such a ride or die. I'd be like.
- 1:32:50Is the friend asking you to like, get involved?
- 1:32:53That's the that's what we don't have.
- 1:32:55Do you get what I'm saying? Yeah, there's nuances.
- 1:32:56If like if like saying like the other person was like, then
- 1:33:00being disrespectful, even if I knew my friend was wrong, I'd be
- 1:33:02like all right, calm down, you're doing too much like but.
- 1:33:05You generally don't want to be involved.
- 1:33:07Yeah, I don't like being involved, no.
- 1:33:09I feel like for me, yeah, I would ride like I would have to.
- 1:33:13I'm I, no, that's great. So much loyalty from the people
- 1:33:15in my life that to be honest, I would expect them to ride for
- 1:33:17me. So really.
- 1:33:19I would ride if you were wrong though.
- 1:33:20But what if you didn't know you were wrong?
- 1:33:22Oh, wait, Hold on. OK, let's do this you a
- 1:33:24question. I love it.
- 1:33:25Yeah. So if you didn't know you were
- 1:33:28wrong, OK? Like you truly were in the
- 1:33:29mindset that I'm so right about this.
- 1:33:31Would you want your friend to tell you that you were wrong?
- 1:33:34I would honestly, I take feedback really well.
- 1:33:35So genuinely, I would love for someone to be like, hey,
- 1:33:38honestly here's the situation. And I'd probably be like, OK,
- 1:33:40but to be honest, I'm headstrong.
- 1:33:42So I'd be like, I don't care if I was wrong.
- 1:33:44Like honestly I could be wrong but I don't care and I'm going
- 1:33:47to stand on this. But would you hear your friend?
- 1:33:48Out of? Absolutely.
- 1:33:50So see, OK, yeah, let's switch back to the question.
- 1:33:52Switch it back. So this is my thing.
- 1:33:54Yeah. If I told my friend, yeah, who I
- 1:33:56love so much. And I'm like, hey, girl, you do
- 1:33:58it too much. I currently think you're wrong
- 1:33:59in this situation. She's like, yeah, I probably
- 1:34:01could be. But just like out of principle,
- 1:34:02like I'm not doing backing down. I'd be like, respect it.
- 1:34:05And then I'm uninvolved. I'm like, I did my thing as your
- 1:34:07friend to inform you, OK, that you might be perceived this
- 1:34:11duty, but I'm not going to judge you if you want to go off that
- 1:34:14spite. That's personally not me, but
- 1:34:15I'm so big on principle. Yeah, for me it's quite
- 1:34:18literally this principle. I'm like, I don't give a fuck if
- 1:34:19I'm wrong. Like the principle of the
- 1:34:21situation is why I'm going to. Stand up also the difference
- 1:34:23too. I feel like This is why I don't
- 1:34:24get involved because I feel like these things are always so
- 1:34:27complex where someone could start off right and then they do
- 1:34:31something that makes them wrong and then both people are wrong
- 1:34:34and then it's a whole messy thing, you know?
- 1:34:36Like I've seen friends like approach situations wrong and
- 1:34:39I'm like, I probably would have did it that way.
- 1:34:40And then the other person and like comes back times 10 and
- 1:34:44then now it's like, all right, bitch, like you did too much
- 1:34:46now, like you're you're doing too much with that.
- 1:34:48Interesting. And that's why you're so
- 1:34:49balanced about this. Yeah.
- 1:34:51OK, Interesting. No, I think, let's say if it was
- 1:34:54me and I was wrong, don't give a fuck.
- 1:34:55Like, I don't care. You got a ride for me.
- 1:34:57That's what it is. If my friend was wrong.
- 1:35:00I would ride for that, I told you.
- 1:35:01I would ride for apologetic like I mean, that's the thing.
- 1:35:05My biggest like quality like thy appreciating people is loyalty.
- 1:35:08So it's like if I'm giving my loyalty, you need to give me
- 1:35:11your loyalty. You know what I mean?
- 1:35:12So. And I could be wrong for that,
- 1:35:15but I don't care. I'm going to stand on it.
- 1:35:16Yeah. You might be, but you might not
- 1:35:19be. Well, this is my thing.
- 1:35:21I think as good friends, your good friends should try to make
- 1:35:25you not look crazy. OK, That's my thing.
- 1:35:28That's loyalty to me is I will never let my friends look crazy
- 1:35:30and I hope they won't do the same for me.
- 1:35:32So I'm never going to let anyone embarrass you.
- 1:35:34That's one thing if someone if someone's trying to put you on
- 1:35:36blast, whether you were right or wrong in the situation.
- 1:35:38And it's like in a public setting in this, I'm always
- 1:35:41like, talk to your friend in private.
- 1:35:43Don't ever address it in public in front of like a bitch.
- 1:35:45You don't know. Oh my God, grimy stuff that I
- 1:35:47don't like. Wait, I have something for that
- 1:35:50for me. No, I know, scary.
- 1:35:52Scary for. Me, when people do confront me,
- 1:35:55okay, it's not that I love it, but I'm always like, it's not
- 1:35:59that I love it, but I'm like, Oh my turn, see.
- 1:36:04See, you're ready. You're just, no, you're ready.
- 1:36:06You're ready. That that's the thing.
- 1:36:08You're always ready. I'm always ready, That's what
- 1:36:10I'm saying. I'm like, I really wish people
- 1:36:12would stop challenging me. See.
- 1:36:13But that's my thing. When I do cut, I know I cut deep
- 1:36:17and I know it's not good for anyone involved and it's very
- 1:36:19hard to come back from it. So I would like it not to get
- 1:36:22there with anyone. That's my thing.
- 1:36:23Oh, I'm like actually the worst I'll cut.
- 1:36:25And I'll cut. I'm going to leave a scar and
- 1:36:27then I'm going to show up the next day.
- 1:36:28I'm like, hey, what's up baby girl?
- 1:36:31Hey. OK, wait really quick.
- 1:36:35Yeah, yeah, yeah. Brett, am I ever wrong?
- 1:36:41Brett says I'm never wrong, and that's a loyalty I expect.
- 1:36:44So do we agree? Do we agree with that price?
- 1:36:48I'm going to say. I agree because the way he
- 1:36:51agreed very quickly makes me scared who might be on your
- 1:36:55payroll and I'm not getting followed home today.
- 1:36:57So you are correct, I am wrong. Oh my God I love that because I
- 1:37:01do got shooters. Fuck.
- 1:37:03I mean save. I mean, I agree.
- 1:37:08And whatever you say, Ryan on. Board, I'm down.
- 1:37:11I'm fine. Good answer.
- 1:37:14Good answer. OK, that was and you will be
- 1:37:18getting home safely tonight. Yay.
- 1:37:21OK. That was our WWADGZI.
- 1:37:24Don't know if any of that was helpful.
- 1:37:25I'm feeling very villainous today.
- 1:37:27I will. I will pro face that.
- 1:37:29Not pre face pro face period. So like the pro biotic?
- 1:37:33Yes, not the pre biotic, yes, yes, we're very like like Angel
- 1:37:37and demon like it's very that's where the vibes are and the
- 1:37:39viewers are in the middle. We're on the shoulders.
- 1:37:41Totally. And whose side are we choosing?
- 1:37:43Viewer. Baby, you kids, please just pick
- 1:37:47us for safety. I'm OK.
- 1:37:49I'm fine. No, I'm OK.
- 1:37:51Over here alone. It's alright.
- 1:37:52If you're instilled in the studio right now, I'm just
- 1:37:55insane. Whoa.
- 1:37:57OK, we'll bring it back to Bryce Xavier interview.
- 1:38:00So with that being said, we've learned a lot about you today,
- 1:38:03Bryce. I know.
- 1:38:04I'm so happy about it. I feel like this was a great
- 1:38:06deep dive into you and honestly, I've done my research, but one
- 1:38:10thing that I omitted to find was your Zodiac sign.
- 1:38:13So you're going to guess the Zodiac sign right now.
- 1:38:14Your Zodiac sign besties. You've been listening.
- 1:38:17We got a lot of information from Bryce.
- 1:38:19Go ahead and take a second think about what you think his Zodiac
- 1:38:21sign is. I feel like I have a guessy
- 1:38:23Bessie. I wrote down a note earlier.
- 1:38:26Oh my gosh. Okay, wait.
- 1:38:27I'm actually really curious if you're going to get this.
- 1:38:29Right, okay, wait, I'm going to get it right.
- 1:38:31It's okay, my note is so meaningless, It's so useless.
- 1:38:35I wrote not perfect and I remember writing this down for
- 1:38:38my Zodiac sign note. I don't know what this means, so
- 1:38:41I don't know why I wrote this down, but I remember being like
- 1:38:44this is my note that's going to remind me.
- 1:38:46OK, so Zodiac sign fuck. OK, I'm it's toughy because
- 1:38:51you're kind of mediator where you're like, I don't want to be
- 1:38:53informed balance. So it's giving Libra and pink is
- 1:38:57very Libra, but pink is an era and I don't want to be wrong
- 1:39:00about this. I'm going to go with You're not
- 1:39:02a Libra. I'm not a Libra.
- 1:39:03OK, good. Ate that.
- 1:39:05Ate that. Ate that up.
- 1:39:07Ate that up. OK, I know what you are.
- 1:39:10Besties. You have a guess.
- 1:39:11Go guess. Oh.
- 1:39:12My gosh, I'm shocked. OK.
- 1:39:13Ready. Yeah, you're an Aquarius.
- 1:39:16I am an Aquarius. I eat that.
- 1:39:18I eat that you want to. How I knew.
- 1:39:19Wait, why? Throughout this entire time
- 1:39:21talking to you, you're just like so free spirited and you're kind
- 1:39:24of loosey goosey and you're like, I'm just doing it.
- 1:39:26You're like, I'm just 20 minutes, like I gotta take the
- 1:39:28risk and I'm like, OK, like no bounds here.
- 1:39:31Very Aquarian of you. Do you feel like you're an
- 1:39:33Aquarius? I have through and through
- 1:39:36anything I hear, anything I know, any posts I see, any
- 1:39:39combo, any of it I'm like. Are you super into astrology?
- 1:39:42That's honestly not as much as I wish I was.
- 1:39:45Yeah. Like I, I'm always receptive to
- 1:39:47it, to any information that I hear.
- 1:39:48Like we had to go to like talk about it when we first met,
- 1:39:51actually. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:39:53And it's so funny too, because now I'm thinking about it.
- 1:39:56We didn't talk about our signs like I don't even know yours do.
- 1:39:58You want to guess. No, honestly, because it's going
- 1:40:02to be, and this is my thing that I've learned as someone who does
- 1:40:05not know astrology, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:06Dude, don't. Guess OK dude?
- 1:40:07What? Because it's.
- 1:40:08Going to be rooted wrong. Not rude, but what's the what's
- 1:40:10the most evil sign you can think of?
- 1:40:12Scorpios. They are evil Scorpios and
- 1:40:14August Leos. Oh. 02 of us caught strays right
- 1:40:18now. Wait, Wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 1:40:20wait, wait. No shit.
- 1:40:22I mean honestly, Scorpios are evil.
- 1:40:24Wait, what are you? Oh, I'm not an August Leo, I'm
- 1:40:26an August Virgo. Oh.
- 1:40:27Oh, love Virgos though. That's totally different.
- 1:40:30Totally different. No, that's actually.
- 1:40:32Totally nothing like those Scorpios.
- 1:40:33No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:40:35By the way, I love Scorpios and. Again, that's that's my thing.
- 1:40:38I don't know much about it to even say.
- 1:40:39That's the reason why I just keep a tally of the signs of the
- 1:40:42people that piss me off and they just happen to be in those
- 1:40:46categories. August Leos, what's your fucking
- 1:40:49problem with me? I don't know what it is.
- 1:40:51You know who you are. Wait a minute.
- 1:40:53You know who's in August? Leo.
- 1:40:55Wait. Who?
- 1:40:56Grant. Wait, no, is is it?
- 1:41:00No, that's not the cusp. Are you sure he's on a Virgo?
- 1:41:02So he's actually directly on the Cus is he really?
- 1:41:06He's literally directly on the. Cus Oh my gosh, yeah OK.
- 1:41:08That's why he annoyed me sometimes when we were kids.
- 1:41:10I'm. Joking.
- 1:41:11That's a lot of. No, I'm actually joking.
- 1:41:14Oh, wait, no, that's crazy. Yeah, OK.
- 1:41:16No, I Oh my gosh, I thought it was Virgo this whole time.
- 1:41:18No, I mean, honestly, he's right there on the.
- 1:41:20Cusp. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:41:21And honestly, also, happy birthday, Grant.
- 1:41:23Happy, happy. Belated Grant.
- 1:41:25Happy belated Grant, we're almost twinsies.
- 1:41:28Shit, yeah. I mean he is in August Leo
- 1:41:30though. Wow.
- 1:41:32He gives Leo. Sorry I just dragged you but.
- 1:41:35You're like, it was kind of well, well earned.
- 1:41:37That's so funny because I actually think I've like, I, I
- 1:41:40think I've dragged August Leo's a whole bunch.
- 1:41:41Like he's, he definitely knows my stance.
- 1:41:44He knows my stance. And he's been silent for a
- 1:41:45reason. You've been, you've been silent
- 1:41:47to not let me know that because you thought I was going to lump
- 1:41:49you in with them. That's the thing.
- 1:41:51But see, there's an outlier. The Bryce after girl, that's
- 1:41:53why. I don't get involved with
- 1:41:54astrology that much because I feel like there's always,
- 1:41:57there's always that person that's like the light shining
- 1:42:01because another, another one. People hate Geminis and I have
- 1:42:04so many Geminis that I love. Oh.
- 1:42:07Wait, no. You know Gemini.
- 1:42:09Oh, I know, Geminis. Oh shit.
- 1:42:12I know like you know, Gemini. Oh, they know me, babies.
- 1:42:16Oh nice, I. Do not like Gemini men
- 1:42:19notoriously what are. Your favorite signs Then give me
- 1:42:22big three. OK, Don't include yourself.
- 1:42:25I would never my. Favorite song a broker was going
- 1:42:27to include? Themselves, I have, well, they
- 1:42:30deserve it. OK, my favorite 3 signs right
- 1:42:34now, like they're based on people right now.
- 1:42:36Like Scorpio because of Brett. Brett's a Scorpio.
- 1:42:39Oh my God, I I got do right now. I'm that's what I said I.
- 1:42:43Was like, I didn't know. Who, you were saying, caught
- 1:42:45Strange. The studio catching Strange
- 1:42:47right now. No, I mean.
- 1:42:51Oh. Gosh.
- 1:42:52Don't do me dirty, don't do me dirty, and then you'll be that
- 1:42:55light shining in that sign for me.
- 1:42:57I I try to protect you. I threw my body in front of you.
- 1:43:00But yeah, you caught, you caught a stray or two.
- 1:43:04They landed a few. A few have landed.
- 1:43:05I fear strays were. Coffee.
- 1:43:08But I like Scorpios right now, and I also like Leo's right now.
- 1:43:13Not today. I do like Leo's, right?
- 1:43:17Literally saying 2 out of your favorite 3 is crazy I know.
- 1:43:21And I like aquarium aquariums right now.
- 1:43:24There you go. Yay, they change.
- 1:43:27Or something else? I do have Leo in my chart too.
- 1:43:28I have Leo and Aries in my chart.
- 1:43:30Oh, little beefy then. Yeah, yeah, I can see the fire.
- 1:43:33I think it's a Leo rising, I think.
- 1:43:35Oh my God, I think that's why you're like putting heads with
- 1:43:37them. Maybe.
- 1:43:38Maybe. Totally.
- 1:43:40Oh my gosh, maybe that's why. Can you and Grant please work it
- 1:43:43on the remix on my show please? Yes, yes, I don't.
- 1:43:45Want to get involved? Yes, the one sided beef that I
- 1:43:48just made-up after like 14 years of friendship.
- 1:43:51I'm like, I just found out you're in August.
- 1:43:54And friendship is over. Yes, Gosh, you worked it out.
- 1:43:58It's fine. Yeah, we did.
- 1:43:59We I just worked it out. You did.
- 1:44:02OK, well, let's get into you being a big fan of Sia.
- 1:44:04What's your what's your favorite Sia song?
- 1:44:07Gosh, Chandelier. Really.
- 1:44:10Oh. God, I sing.
- 1:44:13Yeah, literally. You just stripped on my.
- 1:44:15Show Yeah yeah, well I know that's why you put fucking sia
- 1:44:18and like you asking me why my. Artist was.
- 1:44:21Sia, I knew it. Wait, wait, can we can we review
- 1:44:24the notes? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:44:25Why is your favorite artist Sia? It wasn't Take your clothes off
- 1:44:28on Delulu. OK wow wow.
- 1:44:31I hope we got footage of the clip before we talked about it.
- 1:44:35I don't really know my side right now.
- 1:44:38Unfortunately, the listen hopefully helps.
- 1:44:41Me out. Please.
- 1:44:43Your favorite artist? No.
- 1:44:45No way. To see you but.
- 1:44:47No, you just love the song. No, no, I just got a.
- 1:44:52Chandelier. Chandelier.
- 1:44:53Because you're a. Fantasia and the song.
- 1:44:55Has. A chest.
- 1:44:57Got it. My best friend is my tattoo
- 1:44:59artist and he designed it for me like he designed and he showed
- 1:45:02it to me and he was like. You're like, I want that.
- 1:45:03He was. Yeah, we had a conversation that
- 1:45:05we were, we, we were at one of those like bougie like West
- 1:45:08Hollywood chandelier shops where like they're like $80,000
- 1:45:11chandeliers. And we were looking around.
- 1:45:13I was like, wow. Like I just like wanna fuck you
- 1:45:15chandelier one day, just like in the middle of my foyer.
- 1:45:18Yeah, nothing. Just that big ass chandelier.
- 1:45:21And they look and they're like, that's where all the money went.
- 1:45:23All the money went right there. You know, Oh my God.
- 1:45:25We and literally like 2 days later like he like sent me the
- 1:45:28design and it was like I love you talking about chandeliers
- 1:45:30and I was like yeah I. Was like throw that shit on me.
- 1:45:32Throw that shit on me. Oh my gosh.
- 1:45:34OK, well. So not sea related at all, but I
- 1:45:37knew. I just knew exactly I knew what
- 1:45:40you were talking. About Can you Can you sing a
- 1:45:42little bit of the song for us? I'm gonna swing from the
- 1:45:48chandelier. Thank you.
- 1:45:50That was actually like very good.
- 1:45:52I wanted to be comical, but you you kind of ate.
- 1:45:54You kind of ate a little bit. I can't not.
- 1:45:57I mean, the talent's there. The talent.
- 1:45:59I can't not No, no, no. I'm.
- 1:46:01Sorry. I mean, you ate that well.
- 1:46:02Thank you so much for sharing the Chandelier lore.
- 1:46:05And stripping on you're. Welcome.
- 1:46:07I mean no very much. Thank you so much for that.
- 1:46:10We are censoring it for the Spotify version, but the passes
- 1:46:13version, you can find it. Oh my.
- 1:46:16Gosh, not you freaking me out. I'm just kidding.
- 1:46:20Spotify version you also get it. Guys, please watch the video
- 1:46:23version of the show. I don't.

- 1:46:27OK. Can we didn't even see the top
- 1:46:28of the shoes. Can we actually do it again, but
- 1:46:30a little bit more nip? No, no, no.
- 1:46:33That's a setup. That's a setup.
- 1:46:35I'm smarter. I'm smarter in learning.
- 1:46:38OK, well, you don't have to do that.
- 1:46:39I noticed a few other tattoos that we might have missed.
- 1:46:41Yeah. You'll get the one on my fucking
- 1:46:43leg. I got the upper thigh tattoo.
- 1:46:47Oh my God, we're getting Scandalulu.
- 1:46:48Here my. Scandalulu, I love that.
- 1:46:52Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 1:46:55Well, it's been very scandal Lulu around here.
- 1:46:57We'll get into it off camera, but Bryce, we close out every
- 1:47:02show by manifesting together. I had such a great time with
- 1:47:05you, and you have so many dreams and ambitions, and you're doing
- 1:47:07so well for yourself in your master manifesto period.
- 1:47:09But what do you want to manifest right here on the show?
- 1:47:11What's coming up for Bryce? What are we speaking to?
- 1:47:13Existence. The universe is listening.
- 1:47:15Yeah, first thing that came to my brain was like, I see my,
- 1:47:18like Greek Theater show next year.
- 1:47:20I'm so excited to go. Yeah, I've never been to that
- 1:47:22venue. It's my favorite.
- 1:47:23I've seen every single one of my favorite artists.
- 1:47:26I've seen that and. We're gonna see you there.
- 1:47:28Every single time, like I always felt like it was like a piece I
