- 1:56Speaker 4: This is After Hours Bump it up? What do you
- 2:01Speaker 4: think about it?
- 2:03Speaker 5: It was creative?
- 2:05Speaker 2: If I like it? What one of a kind?
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a jingle? What other jingles could we possibly use?
- 2:13Speaker 2: We could do?
- 2:16Speaker 4: I have a few movies that I've watched and I
- 2:18Speaker 4: need to talk about it on after Hours.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Something like that? What is that? Oh that's JJ Wetworth,
- 2:26Speaker 2: isn't it? Yeah?
- 2:28Speaker 4: Eight seven seven cash now, Yeah, it's my money and
- 2:31Speaker 4: I want to Now.
- 2:32Speaker 5: People are gonna remember us by association.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Basically, that's the goal.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Every time you're watching cable television and you hear that,
- 2:40Speaker 4: you're gonna be like, oh, be honest.
- 2:43Speaker 5: It's like when those medication commercials they like riffed off
- 2:47Speaker 5: of like popular songs. I'm like, I don't know how
- 2:50Speaker 5: I feel about this.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Like it's like I love the memes on TikTok where
- 2:56Speaker 4: it talks about the music that you hear in stores.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It's like, once you start paying attention, you're like, the
- 3:02Speaker 4: hell is playing right now? It happens at my job
- 3:07Speaker 4: all the time.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm like, what the fuck are we playing?
- 3:09Speaker 5: Do you have any control over the playlist though?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Just a volume? Oh that's what? What kind of music plays?
- 3:16Speaker 2: I need an example.
- 3:17Speaker 4: It's like it's kind of weird, man.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It'll go from like.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I feel like I feel like we hired somebody young
- 3:25Speaker 4: to kind of play with the playlist because there's been
- 3:27Speaker 4: a few complaints within the company about the music. So
- 3:30Speaker 4: it'll go from well, what dream Warriors by dakn plays.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Always at night?
- 3:37Speaker 4: I always hear that, which I don't know, like why
- 3:41Speaker 4: that's on the playlist. It'll be like way Away by
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yellow Card plays all the time, the Weight the Weight
- 3:49Speaker 4: by is that the band that plays all the time.
- 3:52Speaker 4: And then it'll be like some like almost like copyright
- 3:57Speaker 4: free music. I'm like, this is not a real some
- 4:00Speaker 4: Ai music, it's ai Ai music.
- 4:05Speaker 2: We yeah, so weird.
- 4:06Speaker 6: On Saturday, my wife and I went to this restaurant
- 4:10Speaker 6: and you wanted to have a crazy like playlist. It
- 4:12Speaker 6: went from like they're playing like, h, what's the same
- 4:15Speaker 6: Luke Combe's country singer. Then it like shifted gears and
- 4:19Speaker 6: went to Godsmack, and then it went to like the Police,
- 4:25Speaker 6: and it just came doing like those those rotations like that.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It was the wildest. It was like some smokehouse restaurant.
- 4:33Speaker 5: It's pretty funny, all inclusive, that's what you're telling us.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much.
- 4:39Speaker 4: One time I had left, I went from my job
- 4:43Speaker 4: to a store that's across the parking lot from me,
- 4:46Speaker 4: and I walked out of my store and I took
- 4:49Speaker 4: notice of the song that was playing because it was
- 4:51Speaker 4: Stevie Nicks. So as I was walking out, I was like, oh,
- 4:54Speaker 4: this is a good song. So I left, and then
- 4:56Speaker 4: when I walked into the store across from me, it
- 5:00Speaker 4: picked up right where I left off on the past song.
- 5:04Speaker 4: So both of our both of our locations were playing
- 5:06Speaker 4: the same song on slightly different timing enough that in
- 5:10Speaker 4: the two minutes took me to weal across the parking lot,
- 5:12Speaker 4: I synced back up with it.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Crazy.
- 5:15Speaker 2: That's weird, man, So that's special, something special. You think so.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I think so, you know, you know what's special? You guys.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Oh, thanks man, we did miss you.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you.
- 5:30Speaker 5: I thought you were going to segue into the Criterion sale.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Not yet. I was gonna say, how I forgive my
- 5:37Speaker 4: lack of pickups on it. I do have stuff to
- 5:39Speaker 4: talk about, but I I just got back with with
- 5:42Speaker 4: my way from our trip to Disney World. As I said,
- 5:46Speaker 4: I said it that way to make Jordan happy.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Did you thank you? Did you have fun?
- 5:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 5:51Speaker 4: Of course, dude, it was awesome. It was they they
- 5:54Speaker 4: told us. The locals told us that it was like
- 5:57Speaker 4: August weather.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It was.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I think the low temperature we had all seven days
- 6:02Speaker 4: we were there was like seventy seven at night and
- 6:05Speaker 4: then all day it was ninety five ninety six.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Chris, you never addressed my question. Did you ever meet
- 6:12Speaker 5: the Alien Queen?
- 6:14Speaker 2: I did not, Damn, I did not.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I tried to meet either Bride of Frankenstein or Frankenstein's
- 6:22Speaker 4: Monster within we went to Epic Universe, to the Dark Universe,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and they weren't out.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I also hesitated.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I did not buy the Danny Elfman Dark Universe Vinyl.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I wanted to, but it was fifty dollars exclusively exclusively
- 6:42Speaker 2: at Epic Universe.
- 6:43Speaker 6: How How is Epic Universe as grand as everyone says
- 6:49Speaker 6: it is?
- 6:50Speaker 4: It's big, the worlds are definitely immersive. We went we
- 6:54Speaker 4: went straight to Dark Universe and we did the Monster's
- 6:58Speaker 4: Unchained ride, which is just ridiculously cool. And then we
- 7:02Speaker 4: did the Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster, which was cool,
- 7:07Speaker 4: and then we went and got I went to it's
- 7:11Speaker 4: called Doss Steakhouse and I got the blood orange chicken
- 7:17Speaker 4: sandwich and it was not as good.
- 7:19Speaker 2: As I as I thought it was gonna be. I
- 7:21Speaker 2: was pretty disappointed by it.
- 7:23Speaker 4: But uh, it's it's very immersive, man. I feel like
- 7:27Speaker 4: we we did miss the the windmill fire that that
- 7:31Speaker 4: started while we were in line for Curse of the Werewolf,
- 7:33Speaker 4: and we missed.
- 7:34Speaker 2: It, but it's super cool, dude.
- 7:37Speaker 4: We walked over to the Super Mario World and that
- 7:41Speaker 4: was where everybody was. It was like an absolute shit
- 7:45Speaker 4: show in there, man, it was so busy. We did
- 7:49Speaker 4: the we did the Mario Kart ride, and then we
- 7:54Speaker 4: tried to get into Donkey Kong Country and at that
- 7:57Speaker 4: point some storms that kind of started gathering, so they
- 8:00Speaker 4: had shut down the ride that the Donkey Kong roller coaster.
- 8:04Speaker 4: We went from there to oh where do we go?
- 8:07Speaker 2: From there?
- 8:09Speaker 4: We went to uh, let's see other not Isle of Burke.
- 8:17Speaker 4: We went to somewhere else Celestial.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So there's there's Celestial Park, which is like the center. Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we went there and then we so it was
- 8:27Speaker 4: kind of weird because like we didn't get any actual
- 8:29Speaker 4: rain while we were there, but there was just really
- 8:31Speaker 4: dark luminous clouds overhead. And the one we bought fast
- 8:36Speaker 4: passes for the day, so we wanted to use them,
- 8:39Speaker 4: and all the rides we had gone on so far
- 8:41Speaker 4: we didn't need them because the lines weren't extraordinarily long.
- 8:46Speaker 4: But I wanted to ride Stardust Racers because I'm a
- 8:51Speaker 4: roller coaster guy. This is the biggest ride in the park.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I've heard nothing but awesome things about this. I want
- 8:57Speaker 4: to get on this. So it had the majority of
- 9:01Speaker 4: the day because of the weather. As we were walking, like,
- 9:05Speaker 4: we just happened to come out at the entrance, and
- 9:09Speaker 4: the moment we walked out, we noticed like one or
- 9:11Speaker 4: two people got in and we were like, oh shit,
- 9:15Speaker 4: it just opened, So we ran in real quick. Me
- 9:19Speaker 4: my sister in law and my wife like got in
- 9:22Speaker 4: real quick. We were probably like twentieth in line.
- 9:24Speaker 2: They had just reopened it.
- 9:26Speaker 4: And we got all the way up to like the
- 9:28Speaker 4: entrance que to get onto the actual roller coaster, and they.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Weather delayed it again.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 9:35Speaker 4: So we were waiting and then they do that thing
- 9:36Speaker 4: where they kind of run the empty trains instead of
- 9:40Speaker 4: running the empty ones over and over and over again,
- 9:43Speaker 4: and then they had started boarding them again. They're like, oh,
- 9:47Speaker 4: everything's good, We're good, and the clouds still looked terrible,
- 9:50Speaker 4: and we were one of the last rides before they
- 9:52Speaker 4: shut it down like for the day, and it was
- 9:55Speaker 4: so fucking awesome.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Love that shit.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Nice sha good. We had fun well for the most part. Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Did you did you get to go to the Ministry
- 10:05Speaker 2: of Magic?
- 10:06Speaker 4: Oh that's where we went to the Ministry of Magic. Oh okay,
- 10:09Speaker 4: yeah place, Yeah, we went to the Ministry of Magic.
- 10:12Speaker 4: It's sick, dude, we did. That's where we had to
- 10:14Speaker 4: use our fast passes at because that ride the Ministry
- 10:17Speaker 4: of Magic Bride was like, I don't know, over one
- 10:19Speaker 4: hundred minute of weight, So.
- 10:21Speaker 2: We did use our fast passes for that. It's uh,
- 10:24Speaker 2: it reminds me of I don't know.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Have have both of you guys been to Disney World.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I know you go to Disneyland, Jordan, but have you've
- 10:32Speaker 4: been a.
- 10:33Speaker 2: No, I've never been to Florida. Oh okay, okay, see
- 10:38Speaker 2: Cisney World.
- 10:38Speaker 5: It's been years years, Like this is when I was
- 10:41Speaker 5: a kid. I have put it back there since.
- 10:44Speaker 4: The first Star Wars ride in Hollywood Studio is the
- 10:47Speaker 4: Star to Wars.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Oh, Disneyland has that, does it? Okay?
- 10:51Speaker 4: So it's at like three D style, but it's super rough,
- 10:54Speaker 4: Like you get beat up on this fucking ride. That's
- 10:56Speaker 4: what the Ministry of Magic Bride was. Like, it's cool
- 11:00Speaker 4: and there's some really cool ship within the ride, but
- 11:03Speaker 4: like I felt like I had bruises when it was
- 11:05Speaker 4: over because you're just like in these plastic seats and
- 11:09Speaker 4: the cart is like throwing you around. It's not like
- 11:11Speaker 4: monsters unchained with monsters on chained is the same idea,
- 11:14Speaker 4: but you're in a It was like a harnessed seat
- 11:18Speaker 4: that's built for the movement, and uh Ministry of Magic
- 11:21Speaker 4: was not.
- 11:22Speaker 2: But the actual Ministry Magic you walk into.
- 11:24Speaker 4: It was incredible, like when you go through with the
- 11:26Speaker 4: flu powder and you do all that it's it's fucking stunning, dude.
- 11:30Speaker 2: It's it's amazing what they work with they cook up
- 11:31Speaker 2: over there. That's cool. So but now we're home Disney Blues, Dude,
- 11:39Speaker 2: it goes by so fast. All that time saving up
- 11:43Speaker 2: your money gone like that.
- 11:46Speaker 5: You got good memories with it, of course, yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Always always good memories, always good memories.
- 11:51Speaker 2: How was the week for you guys?
- 11:53Speaker 5: Like?
- 11:53Speaker 2: What was going on while was gone? Not a lot?
- 11:59Speaker 2: The uh? I don't know save when when when I
- 12:02Speaker 2: leave the world stops.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Man, That's exactly it. My world stops. You're like, what, Yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 5: I went to a concert on Friday that was a
- 12:13Speaker 5: lot of fun. And then last Sunday I was out
- 12:16Speaker 5: on the boat all day taking advantage of this.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Huh, who'd you see at the concert?
- 12:21Speaker 5: Max Syler House DJ? It was a lot of fun
- 12:26Speaker 5: I was and get home till like three thirty in
- 12:28Speaker 5: the morning.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Did you play Sandstorm?
- 12:32Speaker 5: No? Man, But that's wishful thinking. I would I would
- 12:34Speaker 5: not be a post that.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I just automatically think that every DJ has has a
- 12:40Speaker 4: Derude song in there somewhere in the playlist, right, Yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 4: I mean so it creeps in there somewhere.
- 12:45Speaker 5: That's a banger though.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Some big, some big stuff started getting delivered to people
- 12:50Speaker 4: this week while I was gone, including myself. But at
- 12:54Speaker 4: the tail end of our vacation, I started seeing the
- 12:58Speaker 4: post for the Criterion collection. So yeah, and if audio
- 13:04Speaker 4: listeners could, you could see Steve's eyebrows.
- 13:08Speaker 2: They're dancing.
- 13:10Speaker 5: There's only two things that do this for me, erotic
- 13:12Speaker 5: thrillers and the Criterion sale.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Please tell me about body heat on.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Okay, Yes, that was the first thing I went running to.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Oh my god, what do you want to go over?
- 13:24Speaker 2: What you got? First of all, what do you drink?
- 13:26Speaker 5: Him? Got ka trying to be healthy?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Ba guice?
- 13:31Speaker 5: All right, So I may or may not go back again.
- 13:37Speaker 5: I'm not sure. I'm gonna start out with a classic,
- 13:43Speaker 5: and I am starting with a woman under influence. Under
- 13:46Speaker 5: the influence can't talk. John Cassavetti's very excited and got
- 13:53Speaker 5: a standalone release for this. Uh. This is not a
- 13:56Speaker 5: four kuh, so this is just a Blu ray release.
- 14:00Speaker 5: This is I believe, the same transfer as the one
- 14:03Speaker 5: that's in the box set of the five films of Cassavetties.
- 14:07Speaker 5: So I highly recommend this one. Big fan of him
- 14:10Speaker 5: as a director and next one, it got yeah, Paris Texas,
- 14:20Speaker 5: Oh four k uh got Gus Van Sants Drugstore, Cowboy
- 14:35Speaker 5: very good, and let's see Killers of the Flower Moon
- 14:45Speaker 5: on four K Mart Scorsese.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Then me know when you got four and a half
- 14:51Speaker 4: hours on your hand.
- 14:54Speaker 5: All the time?
- 14:54Speaker 4: Right, It's like when I bought The Irishman and I
- 14:57Speaker 4: was so stoked own it and I was like, I
- 14:59Speaker 4: don't know when I ever have as much time again
- 15:01Speaker 4: in my life.
- 15:02Speaker 5: Yeah, that's one that I I'll pop in around Thanksgiving.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Around that time, you know, things are kind of slowing
- 15:10Speaker 5: down a little bit, get a little bit more time
- 15:13Speaker 5: to you know. I usually break that one up because
- 15:16Speaker 5: it's such a long film.
- 15:17Speaker 2: But shit, dude, that's like a perfect time to watch
- 15:21Speaker 2: the movie. Wow.
- 15:22Speaker 5: I never it's a good one.
- 15:24Speaker 4: That's even the colors of it kind of remind me
- 15:27Speaker 4: of Thanksgiving, like the brownish h like saturated.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I think you're on the something there.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Good Fellas for Christmas obviously.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Yeah. And last but not least, I want to say
- 15:39Speaker 5: the best for last Body Heat. I am so happy
- 15:42Speaker 5: I finally have this, so can I can cross this
- 15:46Speaker 5: off the list? Thank God? So overall, I might go
- 15:49Speaker 5: back maybe for possibly a couple other titles. I'm not
- 15:54Speaker 5: entirely sure it's looking at Punch Drunk Glove, not one
- 15:56Speaker 5: hundred percent sure pick that one up yet or not?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Jordan, did you pick up some nice I did?
- 16:03Speaker 6: Yeah, give me a second here, let me grab them.
- 16:08Speaker 5: I did.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 6: I went over on a Saturday and got a few titles.
- 16:13Speaker 6: Uh funny enough that you bring up Martin Scorsese. So
- 16:18Speaker 6: I too, picked up The Irishman. I saw this. I
- 16:24Speaker 6: remember seeing this on Netflix when it came out. I
- 16:26Speaker 6: never finished it because, like you said, this is.
- 16:28Speaker 2: A three hour movie.
- 16:31Speaker 6: And what helped me off from picking this up was
- 16:34Speaker 6: I was anticipating and getting a four K for the
- 16:36Speaker 6: longest time.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And still hasn't.
- 16:39Speaker 6: So I decided, you know what, I'm just gonna bite
- 16:41Speaker 6: the bullet and grab it now. Now probably one will come.
- 16:45Speaker 6: But anyways, I picked up The Irishman.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We commend you for your Zecri place.
- 16:49Speaker 5: I love that art for that one too.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I love when you open it the booklet that just
- 16:54Speaker 4: has the I heard you paint houses.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, very good.
- 16:58Speaker 6: This is a great one, and yes, I good. A
- 17:00Speaker 6: good film to watch during Thanksgiving.
- 17:02Speaker 2: That's a perfect choice.
- 17:05Speaker 6: I think, Steve, you'll be happy about this. But grab
- 17:08Speaker 6: a body heat right here.
- 17:10Speaker 5: This I'm so proud Steamy film right here.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I got.
- 17:15Speaker 6: I got this Western actually, and I love Western's uh
- 17:20Speaker 6: the original three Tender Yuma.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Ooh, so I haven't seen this one.
- 17:24Speaker 6: I've seen the remake, which I do really enjoy. Excuse me,
- 17:29Speaker 6: but anyways, grab this. Uh, this one I'm really excited about.
- 17:33Speaker 6: People will not stop talking about it. Tell me to
- 17:36Speaker 6: get it by.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Is it George Schlozer Sleezer?
- 17:42Speaker 6: I don't want to say this the same the Vanishing? Okay,
- 17:46Speaker 6: so grab the Vanishing?
- 17:49Speaker 2: What number spine is? Is that an early one? This
- 17:52Speaker 2: is one thirty three? Oh, this is from nineteen eighty eight.
- 17:57Speaker 2: This isn't the Sandra Bullock one.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I was just curious. I think that that's an
- 18:01Speaker 4: old Criterion title.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so you grew up to like fourteen hundred. Now,
- 18:08Speaker 2: well what's the newest title? One of the newest titles?
- 18:12Speaker 4: It would have been, uh what was those onesday? There's
- 18:15Speaker 4: one day just announced I was interested in. Well, look
- 18:20Speaker 4: it up while you while you don't know?
- 18:23Speaker 6: Okay, anyways, and then I grabbed two more so I
- 18:27Speaker 6: got six it's time around picked up this Coen Brothers
- 18:32Speaker 6: film Inside Lewin Davis.
- 18:35Speaker 2: If you guys have seen this.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Movie, I've heard about it though.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's with what's his name that plays Poe in
- 18:45Speaker 4: The New Star, Yeah, Oscar.
- 18:48Speaker 2: But he's in this justin Timberlake, Adam Driver.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Uh.
- 18:51Speaker 6: It's got a pretty pretty big cast in here, but
- 18:57Speaker 6: it's about uh Oscary's character, Lewin Davis, and he's an
- 19:00Speaker 6: aspiring folk singer.
- 19:01Speaker 2: It takes place in the in the sixties. I think
- 19:03Speaker 2: it was the sixties. Yeah, in the sixties, kind.
- 19:07Speaker 6: Of during the every the folk era, you know, and
- 19:12Speaker 6: he can't seem to break through as a successful folk singer.
- 19:17Speaker 6: He travels, tries to you know, hitch ride to go
- 19:20Speaker 6: to the record labels and stuff, does what he can.
- 19:22Speaker 2: He just can't catch a break.
- 19:24Speaker 6: And he's one of those people that will like cut
- 19:27Speaker 6: anyone off that he needs to, doesn't matter.
- 19:30Speaker 2: He doesn't really. He's kind of a.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Scumbag in the movie. But yeah, it's a it's an amazing,
- 19:37Speaker 6: amazing movie. It's actually the main song in here. It's
- 19:41Speaker 6: called the Dink Song, that's what it's called, but fairly well,
- 19:45Speaker 6: and he did it with Mumford and son.
- 19:47Speaker 2: So Mumfort and sons did it with him for that.
- 19:49Speaker 5: That's really cool.
- 19:50Speaker 6: So inside Leewin Dave's you guys haven't seen it, I
- 19:52Speaker 6: guess you'll really check it out. But this one I
- 19:56Speaker 6: think I'm the most excited about out of this series
- 20:00Speaker 6: of this titles that I picked up. It's a Bay
- 20:03Speaker 6: Latar film, my first Baylatar movie and workmeister Harmonies. Okay,
- 20:10Speaker 6: he actually co directed this with Agnes heranitskysw you say
- 20:15Speaker 6: that this actually came out in two thousand, But it's
- 20:19Speaker 6: a beautifully shot film. Blatar is big on one shot takes,
- 20:23Speaker 6: and I'm talking like ten to fifteen minute takes, and
- 20:28Speaker 6: some of the takes are literally like it shows your
- 20:32Speaker 6: main character he's tasked with taking this older gentleman to
- 20:36Speaker 6: this town square to find out to talk and get
- 20:40Speaker 6: information from the folk in this town square. And literally
- 20:45Speaker 6: for the whole walk you were getting just kind of
- 20:48Speaker 6: a dolly shot just following them walking.
- 20:52Speaker 2: But it shot so well it makes you feel like
- 20:54Speaker 2: it you're a part of the story. Makes it feel
- 20:59Speaker 2: a lot, really, And this film is it's it's pretty crazy.
- 21:03Speaker 2: It's about.
- 21:06Speaker 6: There's a town it doesn't say when, doesn't say where
- 21:09Speaker 6: this town is, but a mysterious, uh big like.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Truck shows up with this massive, stuffed whale.
- 21:18Speaker 6: Inside of it, and it's kind of a circus attraction.
- 21:21Speaker 6: And uh there's this other mythical figure they call the
- 21:24Speaker 6: Prince that is there as well. And this what happens
- 21:30Speaker 6: in the movie is the town kind of erupts and
- 21:35Speaker 6: it becomes this mob like mentality, all controlled by this unknown,
- 21:41Speaker 6: unseen figure that's supposedly a part of this circus called
- 21:44Speaker 6: the Prince.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Guys, this is a great movie. So anyways, is that
- 21:49Speaker 2: gonna be in the Curson set? Yeah?
- 21:52Speaker 4: Is that in the set?
- 21:54Speaker 6: It's it's just the Blu Ray in that one. This
- 21:55Speaker 6: is the four K. But I mean it, it's gonna
- 22:00Speaker 6: look great.
- 22:01Speaker 4: So to answer your question, sorry, see real quick, you're
- 22:06Speaker 4: the movie I was thinking of that was recently released
- 22:09Speaker 4: by Criterion that I wanted.
- 22:10Speaker 2: It's called High Art.
- 22:12Speaker 4: The most recent spine number is one twenty eight and
- 22:18Speaker 4: that is.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Days and Nights in the Forest. It's a lot. That's
- 22:25Speaker 2: a lot of releases.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Are you guys picking up Elephant Man? Yeah?
- 22:30Speaker 2: I have the I have the Blue Ray.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I gotta grab that one.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I am a human being.
- 22:39Speaker 6: They must start randomly saying that, Hey, who's going to
- 22:43Speaker 6: pick up the cubric box set for five?
- 22:52Speaker 2: No? I was gonna ask you, Oh well, I guess right,
- 22:56Speaker 2: you're you're you're over there flipping houses.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Man, it doesn't come out I lost, So it's gonna
- 23:04Speaker 5: be it's how much right now?
- 23:06Speaker 2: It's five hundred, four hundred and seventy nine dollars in
- 23:09Speaker 2: ninety six.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Man, I didn't even want to get the John Singleton collection.
- 23:13Speaker 5: Do you think I want to get that?
- 23:15Speaker 6: But it's got the international cut of The Shining in it.
- 23:19Speaker 5: Do you think they're gonna do standalone releases for these?
- 23:24Speaker 2: I I'd be surprised.
- 23:26Speaker 6: I think if they did, like the Shining and so
- 23:30Speaker 6: they already did Barry Lyndon, but like Full Metal Jack
- 23:34Speaker 6: and stuff.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I'll be shocked.
- 23:36Speaker 4: I have those box Really, I think I'll definitely get
- 23:39Speaker 4: this one day. I actually think, at some point in
- 23:41Speaker 4: my life, which I don't expect, there's you know, a
- 23:45Speaker 4: whole lot of it left, probably another fifty fifty five years.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I want to have a complete Criterion collection.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Oh my god, that was so morbid.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I couldn't.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Nah, Man, that's you're gonna have to dedicate the rest
- 23:59Speaker 6: of your life just a criterion.
- 24:01Speaker 2: You're gonna have to cut out Severn. You can't do it. See,
- 24:04Speaker 2: I can't do that Exactly.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Here, I was thinking I was being ambitious by trying
- 24:09Speaker 5: to get the Terror Vision like hard box sets, trying
- 24:11Speaker 5: to collect all of them, and then Chris is like
- 24:16Speaker 5: above and beyond, like what I even? I feel like
- 24:19Speaker 5: the sculpe of this was just so small compared to
- 24:21Speaker 5: what he's trying to do. It's so ambitious.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Complete Severn collection. See, technically I could do the Severn
- 24:28Speaker 4: collection because they actually have a catalog on their website
- 24:31Speaker 4: of all the releases by year, so I can complete
- 24:37Speaker 4: it plus with all the four K upgrades unless there's
- 24:41Speaker 4: something new bonus features.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Wise, I can just buy the Blu rays. They get
- 24:45Speaker 2: really cheap, you know.
- 24:48Speaker 6: You know what, I hope that puts out a cubic
- 24:53Speaker 6: box set his cures on, because I could see them
- 24:55Speaker 6: doing a cubic set.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Well, if you gentlemen don't mind us getting into.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Our three picks for watches on physical media this week,
- 25:07Speaker 4: I would like to start because it has to do
- 25:09Speaker 4: it sever only if you're okay with it.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Though, go on, jeez, I was telling a story and
- 25:15Speaker 2: Chris is like, no, I'm moving on.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I thought your story was over.
- 25:18Speaker 6: I'm sorry, No, it's fine, it's no, no, seriously, it
- 25:22Speaker 6: was over. I was just saying that that would be
- 25:24Speaker 6: I'd love to see it.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I mean, honestly, that's probably the thing is though Criteria
- 25:32Speaker 4: and Stanley Kuper, it goes together so well, Like I
- 25:36Speaker 4: just feel like that's that's.
- 25:38Speaker 2: The combo that I would want on. That's true.
- 25:41Speaker 6: The only other one that I could see kuras On
- 25:43Speaker 6: doing and then we could talk about seven is likely
- 25:46Speaker 6: their next one. I would be surprised, and I'm shock,
- 25:48Speaker 6: da haven't is a Tarkovsky box set?
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Tarkovski. I can see them doing.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Like ah, there's another director that I was thinking about
- 26:02Speaker 4: that they could possibly do as well.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And now I'm blanking on.
- 26:05Speaker 4: It because I do want to get the Bellatar that's
- 26:07Speaker 4: the standard.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Edition, right, they came out. Well, I just I bought it.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I did you the limited one. I was able to
- 26:15Speaker 2: find it.
- 26:17Speaker 4: He was able to find it a lot of money.
- 26:20Speaker 2: No, not really, it was more than it was.
- 26:24Speaker 6: It was more than retail, but it wasn't crazy much
- 26:27Speaker 6: more than it was one hundred bucks.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Oh that's great.
- 26:31Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it was still sealed. This guy had it
- 26:34Speaker 6: and he was like, yeah, dude, I was shocked. It
- 26:37Speaker 6: was on eBay and I kind of haggled back and forth.
- 26:41Speaker 2: I think I ended up paying like one hundred and twenty.
- 26:43Speaker 4: But okay, because it's ninety seven dollars for the regular Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 4: it wasn't too much more.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I was shocked. So it's actually shown up tomorrow, so
- 26:52Speaker 2: I'm excited about that.
- 26:54Speaker 5: I have a question for you guys before we get
- 26:55Speaker 5: moving Criterion collection. Do you guys have any that you
- 27:00Speaker 5: would like to see added to the collection.
- 27:03Speaker 6: I want them to give me an updated Halloween. So
- 27:09Speaker 6: we've got they did the Laser disc. Yeah, that'll always
- 27:13Speaker 6: be my answer.
- 27:15Speaker 4: I dead, dead, honest answer. I would love for them
- 27:17Speaker 4: to do armaged In. Yeah again, okay, like with that commentary,
- 27:21Speaker 4: with that Ben Affleck commentary track which he hinted at it,
- 27:26Speaker 4: I don't care what anybody says.
- 27:27Speaker 2: He hinted at it in his Criterion Closet video.
- 27:30Speaker 6: I think it's coming, but I want to I want
- 27:33Speaker 6: a song of the South Criterion collection.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Uh Bong June hoes the Handmaiden.
- 27:40Speaker 5: I would love that on Oh that's a good one.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, because I have a overseas studio canal.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Maybe of the it's the uncut, the unrated edition and
- 27:54Speaker 4: the theatrical one.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And it bothers me because it's in two different cases.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Oh, I'm holding out hope for the King of Comedy.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Either get that or Good Time from the Saftie Brothers.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Must we met? Two picks.
- 28:11Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I think.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I think Criterion should do Georgia Merra's Diary of the Dead.
- 28:20Speaker 7: Yeah, no, or they could do the movie I was
- 28:29Speaker 7: going to talk about for my first pick for the week,
- 28:31Speaker 7: which is, Uh, you guys ever seen Don't Go in
- 28:34Speaker 7: the House from nineteen seventy nine.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Oh, it's a good one. I really like that movie.
- 28:40Speaker 5: It's really moss stop.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I wanted to talk about this for a couple different reasons.
- 28:45Speaker 4: One, we have had a few new shows added to
- 28:48Speaker 4: our network someone's favorite productions, one of them being the
- 28:53Speaker 4: Nightmare USA podcast.
- 28:55Speaker 5: I saw that.
- 28:57Speaker 4: For those who don't know, Nightmare USA is a massive
- 29:00Speaker 4: book written by Steven Thrower, who also wrote the book
- 29:06Speaker 4: on Lucio Folgi. Like all kinds of stuff, this guy's
- 29:09Speaker 4: written and he is phenomenal. And I've had the Nightmare
- 29:12Speaker 4: USA book for a few years now, and it's basically
- 29:15Speaker 4: an encyclopedia of exploitation in the USA, and it's something
- 29:22Speaker 4: I've always wanted to dive into. It's incredibly comprehensive. It's
- 29:25Speaker 4: actually very overwhelming. But the Nightmare USA podcasts decided to
- 29:33Speaker 4: tackle that book basically filmed by film, and they put
- 29:36Speaker 4: out their first episode, which they covered Don't Go in
- 29:38Speaker 4: the House. And this had been a Blu Ray. I
- 29:43Speaker 4: had looked at a whole bunch of times, but I
- 29:44Speaker 4: never bought and I actually didn't watch this on that
- 29:48Speaker 4: Blu Ray, but I bought the Blu Ray right after
- 29:52Speaker 4: I finished watching.
- 29:53Speaker 2: It, so I thought it qualified to talk about here.
- 29:57Speaker 5: Yeah, of course it's a great movie.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Jordan. Have you ever seen Don't Go in the House?
- 30:02Speaker 2: I have not.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Wait, Chris, do you feel like that there's shades of
- 30:07Speaker 5: Maniac with that phone?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Oh?
- 30:09Speaker 4: Oh yeah, which is funny because it came out two
- 30:12Speaker 4: years before Maniac.
- 30:14Speaker 5: It's so good. It's so good, just trust Yeah.
- 30:19Speaker 2: So Don't Go in the House.
- 30:21Speaker 4: It tells a story of a guy named Donald Kohler
- 30:24Speaker 4: who arrives home from work after there was a pretty
- 30:28Speaker 4: traumatic incident at his job and he finds his mother dead.
- 30:33Speaker 4: And after he finds his mother dead, he kind of
- 30:37Speaker 4: has like this psychotic break of joy, but also this
- 30:42Speaker 4: psychotic break where he gets this urge to kill women
- 30:48Speaker 4: because of how he was tortured by his mother as
- 30:53Speaker 4: like a repent for his sins, where she would hold
- 30:56Speaker 4: his arms over the flame of a of an oven
- 31:00Speaker 4: and burn his arms.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So now he, in this psychotic break, builds a like
- 31:07Speaker 2: a steel.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Room in his mother's house after her death and begins
- 31:12Speaker 4: to burn women with a flamethrower alive in it and
- 31:14Speaker 4: keep their forks upside.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Dude, it's just more just shocked.
- 31:20Speaker 5: It's gnarly, that's for sure.
- 31:23Speaker 4: It this this was a video nasty. What's most crazy
- 31:27Speaker 4: to think about is how there's actually only one really
- 31:34Speaker 4: crazy scene in the whole movie, and it's the first
- 31:37Speaker 4: woman that he decides to kidnap, who was actually famously
- 31:44Speaker 4: a girlfriend.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Of Hugh Hefner.
- 31:46Speaker 4: So the actress was perfectly fine with doing all of
- 31:49Speaker 4: the nudity needed for this sequence where she is hung
- 31:51Speaker 4: up by her arms and burned alive by a flamethrower.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Now, mind you. This all takes place in New.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Jersey, as one does, so you have this one really shocking,
- 32:05Speaker 4: incredible scene with a flame they were burned, which, by
- 32:08Speaker 4: the way, looks so incredibly real and is probably the
- 32:14Speaker 4: most phenomenal production story I've ever heard of. How they
- 32:18Speaker 4: set up this prism and a dummy and actually shot
- 32:23Speaker 4: a flamethrower at a dummy and they lined up the
- 32:25Speaker 4: prism that way. It lined up the real girl and
- 32:27Speaker 4: the dummy being burned, and it actually sold the effect
- 32:31Speaker 4: so well that the director, Joseph Ellison, actually had to
- 32:38Speaker 4: like double check to make sure that they weren't actually
- 32:41Speaker 4: burning her alive.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Wow.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Crazy, Yeah, what is this?
- 32:47Speaker 2: What is this called? Again?
- 32:48Speaker 4: It's called Don't Go in the House from nineteen seventy nine.
- 32:52Speaker 5: I think I actually have come to think of it.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's u And then yeah, that's essentially the rest
- 32:59Speaker 4: of That's essentially what the rest of the movie follows
- 33:03Speaker 4: is kind of his continuation down this psychotic break. And
- 33:07Speaker 4: what's most bothersome to me about the movie is how
- 33:11Speaker 4: serious it plays itself. The movie takes itself very serious,
- 33:16Speaker 4: and Joseph Ellison, along with the rest of production crew,
- 33:19Speaker 4: actually interviewed psychiatrists, to just make sure that the way
- 33:25Speaker 4: they wrote this character was very accurate to the time
- 33:27Speaker 4: of what they felt like a character of this mentality,
- 33:30Speaker 4: how he would act, how he would be portrayed. What
- 33:34Speaker 4: I also like is there's a character in this movie
- 33:39Speaker 4: who's played by Ben or who played by Charles Bonnette.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm sorry this is Is it Robert Carnegie.
- 33:47Speaker 4: It's Bobby, Yes, Bobby, who is really his only friend
- 33:53Speaker 4: who's trying to help him through the whole movie. And
- 33:56Speaker 4: it's really genuine. It's really nice to see somebody trying
- 33:59Speaker 4: to support our character who's obviously having a really tough
- 34:02Speaker 4: time and really just trying to be a good friend.
- 34:04Speaker 4: So it adds some levity, you know.
- 34:06Speaker 5: To the movie. Played by none other than Dan Grimaldi
- 34:11Speaker 5: from The Sopranos.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Danny or Donnie is yeah, yep. He played
- 34:18Speaker 4: one of the twins right, the uh yeah, yes, yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 4: the Precy twins.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Yep. Just all around, his performance is great.
- 34:29Speaker 4: The whole movie is great. I was shocked at how
- 34:31Speaker 4: much I loved it. There is some genuinely really creepy
- 34:35Speaker 4: imagery in this movie.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It's super well shot.
- 34:39Speaker 4: There is a really crazy makeup effects done for these
- 34:45Speaker 4: charred bodies that eventually get up out of a chair
- 34:49Speaker 4: and move around. It's very shocking. The movie actually was
- 34:54Speaker 4: originally shot under the title The Burning Man and then
- 34:58Speaker 4: was gonna be released just as The Burning, but then
- 35:01Speaker 4: Tony Maitland's film The Burning.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Was in production.
- 35:06Speaker 4: They can no longer use that, so they have to
- 35:07Speaker 4: switch a name too.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Don't go in the house.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Do you think we'll eventually get a four K for it?
- 35:12Speaker 5: Because I know was it Severron that had done that release?
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, seven did a blu ray. I think maybe eventually.
- 35:20Speaker 4: I guess it just depends on on the elements.
- 35:24Speaker 2: There is. If you do get the physical media.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Edition, there is a cut of it that's just called
- 35:30Speaker 4: The Burning and it's it contains some more of the burning,
- 35:36Speaker 4: the initial burning scene, and then it also has some
- 35:41Speaker 4: extended footage that was from a TV cut that kind
- 35:44Speaker 4: of a little just a little.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Bit more character stuff.
- 35:48Speaker 4: It's said to be kind of the ultimate way to
- 35:50Speaker 4: watch the movie. But I haven't seen that cut yet,
- 35:51Speaker 4: so I'm curious to go into that and check that out.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Man, nice off to check it out. Great choice, Thank
- 35:58Speaker 2: you man, Thank you.
- 35:59Speaker 4: And this was just a long winded plug. So you
- 36:01Speaker 4: to go check out the Nightmare USA podcast. I'm preparing
- 36:03Speaker 4: for their next episode. They're doing Georgia Merra's The Crazies.
- 36:07Speaker 5: That's that's another movie.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Stoked about that, stoked about that. So whoever wants to go,
- 36:14Speaker 4: let's let's let's talk about what you got?
- 36:16Speaker 5: What you got? Man?
- 36:17Speaker 2: Uh?
- 36:18Speaker 6: So well, let's I'll talk about this right here. It's
- 36:23Speaker 6: from Indicator. It is a Lamberto Baba.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Film picked up. It is macabre. Mh.
- 36:33Speaker 6: I'm telling you, guys, hey, I told you just order
- 36:36Speaker 6: straight from then.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Just spin it, spin it around. Let me see a
- 36:39Speaker 5: little bit.
- 36:40Speaker 2: So there's the front, you get the back. Look at that.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Oh my god, dude, I love how how good they do?
- 36:48Speaker 2: Like the small chunky.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Box that is.
- 36:53Speaker 6: Not a lot of shelf space, but it's still a
- 36:56Speaker 6: chunky box.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And their booklets.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Incredibly Well what's what else is? It's the the case
- 37:05Speaker 5: on the other side.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Okay, there you.
- 37:08Speaker 5: Go, right there.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Man, Sorry for people just listening, but I'm just showing
- 37:12Speaker 2: off a.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Booklet right now and I'm just getting sweaty.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Oh guys. Uh, this is a great movie. Have you
- 37:19Speaker 2: guys seen this?
- 37:21Speaker 6: Of course, it's been a long time I like, so
- 37:26Speaker 6: I went with this release one.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I just because over the vinegar syndrome. That is because I.
- 37:32Speaker 6: I prefer I really like what Indicator does, so I
- 37:35Speaker 6: want to support them anyway I can. And plus I
- 37:37Speaker 6: like the artwork on this better because they're not spoiling
- 37:40Speaker 6: the movie completely. That the vinegar syndrome and they've done
- 37:44Speaker 6: this before. But it's about this woman that she is
- 37:48Speaker 6: actually cheating on her husband. She goes to this kind
- 37:50Speaker 6: of a boarding house. While she is there, she finds
- 37:54Speaker 6: out that her daughter actually kills her son, and she
- 37:58Speaker 6: finds out so she then leaves to go rush to
- 38:02Speaker 6: go home with her lover driving them there and they
- 38:07Speaker 6: end up getting in.
- 38:08Speaker 2: A car accident.
- 38:09Speaker 6: He gets decapitated and she ends up in the hospital.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Well, one year later she gets out.
- 38:16Speaker 6: She goes back to this this boarding house that is
- 38:20Speaker 6: ran by this blind guy, and.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Some interesting stuff starts happening.
- 38:27Speaker 6: She's very secretive about what takes place in her in
- 38:30Speaker 6: her bedroom and specifically in a fridge anyways, But no,
- 38:36Speaker 6: this is this is.
- 38:37Speaker 2: A great I love this movie. It's got It's has
- 38:42Speaker 2: such a.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Great build up to the reveal is so shocking and
- 38:46Speaker 6: kind of just twisted and it's it's just a great
- 38:51Speaker 6: Italian film.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Guys.
- 38:52Speaker 6: I love this movie so much. It's got the effects
- 38:55Speaker 6: work in this movie too. For the end scenes are great.
- 38:58Speaker 6: And two, the whole nonsensical ending of this movie I
- 39:01Speaker 6: think is great. I love just the maybe you can call
- 39:06Speaker 6: it a nightmare logic, I don't know, whatever, you can
- 39:08Speaker 6: call it, whatever you want to call it.
- 39:10Speaker 2: The ending kind of last shot a little shock is great.
- 39:14Speaker 2: It's a good movie.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Great choice. Damn.
- 39:19Speaker 4: I couldn't imagine being the son of Mariobaba and getting
- 39:24Speaker 4: into filmmaking with that kind of on your shoulders, that
- 39:32Speaker 4: you're the son of one of the most I mean,
- 39:35Speaker 4: at the time, obviously it's time.
- 39:38Speaker 2: It's gone on. Mariobaba has become more more noted and
- 39:42Speaker 2: more notable. But at the time, like being a son
- 39:46Speaker 2: of Mariobaba, that must have been.
- 39:48Speaker 6: That's a lot to carry, especially you know, following his footsteps.
- 39:55Speaker 6: He he excelled, man, I tell you he he definitely
- 39:59Speaker 6: did his own thing.
- 40:00Speaker 2: He took what his father did and pushed it even further. Yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 2: happy to see that his earlier stuff is getting put
- 40:07Speaker 2: out now.
- 40:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a it's a great release. This Indicator release,
- 40:12Speaker 6: this is what I would go with. It's literally the same.
- 40:16Speaker 6: If you're wondering, there's no difference between this and Vinegar
- 40:21Speaker 6: Center's release. They they had I was, I was talking
- 40:23Speaker 6: to Indicator and they had like a a deal with
- 40:26Speaker 6: each other where they would literally Indicator would handle the UK,
- 40:30Speaker 6: Vinier Centers would handle the US and they're the same discs.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Mhm.
- 40:35Speaker 5: I just the presentation to that release. I think it's
- 40:40Speaker 5: just so much cleaner looking as I agree, very nice.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I wonder too if.
- 40:46Speaker 2: What was the price different? So I think Indicator usually
- 40:48Speaker 2: comes up to be a little cheaper. I think it is.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Actually I can't remember. Like I said, I ordered off
- 40:54Speaker 2: their website, powerhouse I got.
- 40:57Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure I got some indicators of brand new
- 41:00Speaker 4: four ks for like under forty bucks.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Dude, they're not They're not bad at all. Let me see.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I'm on their website. I'm trying to find it. Yeah, dude,
- 41:12Speaker 2: the four case thirty two dollars.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's incredible. Well, I bet you the Vinegar
- 41:17Speaker 4: Syndrome one's fifty.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I don't know. Viner Syentrum's website's down right now, so bastards. Yeah, Hey,
- 41:25Speaker 2: they're they're all having all their new releases tomorrow.
- 41:28Speaker 4: I always forget that tomorrow is a new month. Yeah no,
- 41:33Speaker 4: not always forget.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I just I forgot. I was like, what specifically tomorrow only.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Happens twelve times a year?
- 41:40Speaker 2: It was.
- 41:41Speaker 4: It was forty nine ninety eight by the way.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Yeah, so I mean, go go the indicator route with
- 41:52Speaker 6: my opinion. But uh yeah, you're getting two cuts of
- 41:56Speaker 6: the movie in this one, the Italian and the English cut.
- 42:01Speaker 2: So yeah, manam MacB.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I need that for the collection.
- 42:05Speaker 2: I need to. I need them to put out some
- 42:07Speaker 2: more genre long stuff. That's what I need. Any more
- 42:14Speaker 2: Schoolgirl hitchhikers, some of his uh, some of his later stuff,
- 42:18Speaker 2: because I think it pretty much covered all of his
- 42:20Speaker 2: early stuff for the most part. Magic. I know you
- 42:26Speaker 2: would get that real quick, dude. Just imagine what the
- 42:30Speaker 2: artwork would be. It would just be naked women, That's
- 42:35Speaker 2: what it would be.
- 42:36Speaker 4: It would be women in like silk, you know what
- 42:38Speaker 4: I mean, it's all that's all it would be.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Yeah, and vampires.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yeah, silky vampire women.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Oh first body heat now, thus you see if you got.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Any silky vampire women to talk.
- 42:56Speaker 5: About, I'm sorry. But I don't. But but Chris, I
- 43:01Speaker 5: know for a fact that you'll appreciate what I'm about
- 43:04Speaker 5: to cover. And I know that this was a little
- 43:08Speaker 5: bit of a bigger deal last year when this came out.
- 43:10Speaker 5: But I figure now is as good of a time
- 43:14Speaker 5: as any to be doing my yearly rewatch of Jaws.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Nay, I've seen it so.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Just once, right, Yeah, I watched it once and then
- 43:29Speaker 4: I got a giant leg tattoo of it.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Never again after that.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Well, listen, I have it in the lenticular cover for
- 43:40Speaker 5: the release that came out previously. I have it in
- 43:42Speaker 5: the four Case Steal book. I couldn't pass this one up.
- 43:47Speaker 5: And I think the biggest, you know, standout feature on
- 43:51Speaker 5: this is them including the documentary of Jaws at fifty
- 43:55Speaker 5: the definitive inside story, which I felt like that alone
- 44:00Speaker 5: made the release worth picking up. Yeah, for those of
- 44:04Speaker 5: you guys, I mean, I would assume most of you
- 44:06Speaker 5: guys have already seen this. But the basic premise of
- 44:09Speaker 5: for this film, you got a young woman who's killed
- 44:11Speaker 5: by a great white shark off the coasts of a
- 44:14Speaker 5: small beach town of Amity Island, and we have our hero,
- 44:18Speaker 5: police Chief Martin Brody wants to close the beaches to
- 44:21Speaker 5: protect the public. However, the pressure from local officials to
- 44:24Speaker 5: keep the beaches open during the busy summer tourist season
- 44:28Speaker 5: leads to more than deadly attacks. So for me, this
- 44:32Speaker 5: is definitely a fourth of July staple. I watched this
- 44:36Speaker 5: movie religiously every single year, and the sequels for that matter,
- 44:41Speaker 5: but I figured that this time was, you know, it
- 44:45Speaker 5: was worth bringing up on after hours. Highly recommend this release.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Dude, Jawls is so fucking good in that documentary.
- 44:55Speaker 5: Oh yeah, fantastic.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I remember and I forget his name that wrote or
- 45:03Speaker 4: that directed that documentary, but he wrote two of the
- 45:06Speaker 4: Spielberg books that I have, so that guy's kind of
- 45:11Speaker 4: like a expert on all things Spielberg. And he directed
- 45:14Speaker 4: that Jaws at fifty documentary, which I thought, like, at
- 45:19Speaker 4: this point, what's new to learn about Jaws? And I
- 45:21Speaker 4: learned so much about that?
- 45:24Speaker 2: What about that movie?
- 45:26Speaker 5: Laurent Boosrow, Yeah, yeah, he wrote Spielberg The First ten
- 45:32Speaker 5: Years Coffee book, which we have.
- 45:34Speaker 2: In another I believe he wrote another one that we have.
- 45:40Speaker 4: I personally loved my favorite kind of anecdotes, I guess
- 45:44Speaker 4: in the documentary was hearing about Spielberg, who would when
- 45:48Speaker 4: the movie was done hide out in the boat at
- 45:50Speaker 4: the Jaws Ride in Universal Orlando from the PTSD that
- 45:55Speaker 4: he suffered coming out of coming out of that film.
- 45:58Speaker 5: Insane. It's just the amount of pressure that was on
- 46:02Speaker 5: his shoulders, you know, for delivering a film like this that,
- 46:06Speaker 5: by all accounts, I mean, it was like teetering on
- 46:09Speaker 5: the edge of failure. I mean with the all the delays,
- 46:13Speaker 5: and it was such a big gamble on a film
- 46:16Speaker 5: like that. But it's insane that this film is just
- 46:20Speaker 5: I mean, it's larger than life, one of the definitive
- 46:24Speaker 5: blockbusters that we had at that time. But I think
- 46:29Speaker 5: just in general, I mean, you know, it's kind of
- 46:31Speaker 5: goes back to what you were saying. It's like, really,
- 46:33Speaker 5: how much more can you add to this? But I
- 46:36Speaker 5: mean again I think that documentaries just you have to
- 46:40Speaker 5: see it for sure.
- 46:42Speaker 4: I was hoping they were going to do a standalone release.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Of it, but they didn't.
- 46:47Speaker 5: No, I mean, outside of that, you get some archival
- 46:50Speaker 5: features on this release as well as to get the
- 46:53Speaker 5: making of Jaws the Shark is still working the impact
- 46:57Speaker 5: and legacy of Jaws. Jaws storation. So for this, it's
- 47:02Speaker 5: just discussing the Blu ray restoration, not necessarily the four K,
- 47:06Speaker 5: and then you obviously get some deleted scenes and outtakes,
- 47:08Speaker 5: so plus, I mean, how do you top that art scourgeous?
- 47:15Speaker 5: I figured it was worth it.
- 47:17Speaker 2: That's a bad hat.
- 47:18Speaker 6: Jerry.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Well, you guys want to talk about some controversy. You
- 47:24Speaker 2: like controversy.
- 47:25Speaker 5: I love controversy. Oh yeah, I like chaos.
- 47:28Speaker 4: When I got home, I decided to watch.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Day of the Dead on four K.
- 47:33Speaker 5: Oh boy.
- 47:36Speaker 4: And you know, not not going to be as negative
- 47:40Speaker 4: on this as I was expecting to be. I will
- 47:44Speaker 4: say right off the bat that I was part of
- 47:48Speaker 4: the collective group that kind of rolled my eyes at
- 47:51Speaker 4: the fact that it was Screen Factory doing this. It's
- 47:54Speaker 4: kind of like very you know, not that I really
- 47:58Speaker 4: have any like long rooted issues with Screen Factory. It's
- 48:02Speaker 4: just really been the last four years of them that
- 48:07Speaker 4: have really kind of I haven't been as stoked about
- 48:11Speaker 4: what they're doing as before then, if that makes sense, right,
- 48:15Speaker 4: maybe like the last four years or so, let's say, right,
- 48:18Speaker 4: things kind of really started changing with them.
- 48:20Speaker 5: What would you guys say, is like the last memorable
- 48:24Speaker 5: release that we've gotten from them, because I felt like
- 48:27Speaker 5: even some of those four K transfers that we had
- 48:29Speaker 5: gotten I always think of like my Bloody Valentine. You know,
- 48:35Speaker 5: some of the releases around, like Creep Show was really good, and.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I think last year was a big Yeah, well there's
- 48:46Speaker 2: the four K Black Sunday.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Don't remind me.
- 48:53Speaker 2: I'm just kidding.
- 48:54Speaker 5: Whant I talk about controversy?
- 48:56Speaker 2: Yeah? Right?
- 48:57Speaker 6: You know what actually was a pretty good, really surprisingly
- 49:01Speaker 6: no one talks about was What Lies Beneath because I
- 49:04Speaker 6: had a whole documentary on there, which I thought was great.
- 49:07Speaker 6: Not a lot of people talk about that one.
- 49:10Speaker 5: They had a Rabbit Rabbid.
- 49:12Speaker 2: They did the four k's of Sleepoy Camp two and three.
- 49:16Speaker 5: That monkey shines monkey good transfers. It's just I feel like,
- 49:22Speaker 5: you know what you're getting with.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I really liked the Poultrygeist to release
- 49:27Speaker 2: they did.
- 49:28Speaker 5: I dep that's another good one.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I was trying to find a list of Sorority House Massacre.
- 49:38Speaker 5: Oh, good one. You know I love that movie.
- 49:42Speaker 2: The Wikipedia list for screen Factory releases stops in twenty nineteen.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Oh interesting, with the craft on Blu Ray.
- 49:55Speaker 5: So strange.
- 49:58Speaker 2: I wonder why it's interesting.
- 50:02Speaker 5: We need Sorority House Massacre two. Ooh, screen factor. If
- 50:10Speaker 5: you're listening, please take that into consideration.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Oh please please listen to me.
- 50:15Speaker 5: Please.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really remember kind of.
- 50:20Speaker 5: What hold on.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Let's see if this list is uh, it's up the
- 50:25Speaker 4: date here, because I'm just trying to put myself in
- 50:28Speaker 4: a moment of being like, oh, fuck, yeah, that's a
- 50:31Speaker 4: good release.
- 50:34Speaker 2: But I can't. This only goes to oh, this is
- 50:39Speaker 2: so much more than I thought.
- 50:41Speaker 4: Oh my god, seven hundred how many releases?
- 50:44Speaker 2: Is this fucking company done?
- 50:47Speaker 5: I can't listen. They can't knock the Blu Ray Run.
- 50:50Speaker 5: I'll always see him by that. You can't knock the
- 50:52Speaker 5: Blue Ray Run. That was like the golden age.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Of when Cliff was with them and the Rays and
- 50:57Speaker 2: the dude, it was they were unstoppable.
- 51:00Speaker 5: The art it felt like you actually had.
- 51:05Speaker 2: What's his name, what's the white House, white House, white Whitehead,
- 51:11Speaker 2: Devin Whitehead. Yeah, I think that was a way white House.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Devin Whitehead. That dude.
- 51:17Speaker 6: His artwork on those releases were just, I don't know,
- 51:22Speaker 6: they were firing on all cylinders at that point.
- 51:25Speaker 5: The burning was another good one.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean even think about the box that you got,
- 51:31Speaker 2: the fly box set, omen.
- 51:35Speaker 5: Rack Friday the thirteenth.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Well, of course Friday thirteenth, Halloween, Like there's some gray.
- 51:42Speaker 6: Ones, yeah, Mario Bava, I mean I do like that
- 51:49Speaker 6: box set, but that is a good box set.
- 51:51Speaker 5: Though the timing was a little sus with that four
- 51:55Speaker 5: K for what was it Black Sunday?
- 51:59Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, that was definitely that was that was
- 52:04Speaker 2: not okay that they did that that way. I don't
- 52:06Speaker 2: know there. I really do like their four ks Silent Night,
- 52:09Speaker 2: Deadly Night a lot, but that's.
- 52:11Speaker 5: A good one.
- 52:12Speaker 4: That was a great release, I would say, honestly, probably
- 52:17Speaker 4: like the thirteen Ghosts, Idle Hands.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Blu Ray releases they did.
- 52:25Speaker 5: That was the last one you liked.
- 52:26Speaker 4: La No, but like that wasn't a four K upgrade
- 52:33Speaker 4: of something they had already done. I'm talking about like
- 52:36Speaker 4: a new title from.
- 52:37Speaker 2: Them, Well they just did the original, but Haunting that
- 52:42Speaker 2: wasn't a new title, right, Yeah, Yeah, that was a yeah.
- 52:46Speaker 2: I don't think they did that before.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Wonderful I ever get Silent Night, Deadly Knight too on
- 52:53Speaker 5: four K that or I'm still holding out hope that
- 52:57Speaker 5: we'll get sleep Away Camp at some point the first one.
- 53:00Speaker 2: I don't think it'll be Scream Factory.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Who is it going to be then Criterion?
- 53:08Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I don't know.
- 53:11Speaker 6: Somebody I've heard, I've heard rumors that supposedly might be
- 53:17Speaker 6: Vinegar Syndrome.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I've heard arrow, I've I've heard, I've heard it all.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Everybody's working on it.
- 53:25Speaker 5: I I could see Vinegar Syndrome doing it. I mean,
- 53:31Speaker 5: it's the same deal with like Texas Chainsaw three in
- 53:34Speaker 5: the Next Generation, which.
- 53:38Speaker 6: It was another good release that I don't know if
- 53:40Speaker 6: it was a four cap credit, can't remember.
- 53:41Speaker 2: But the step Father that.
- 53:47Speaker 5: We need Stepfather, No, I don't I don't think they
- 53:51Speaker 5: did the original. Okay, what is it? Which one?
- 53:56Speaker 2: The Stepfather.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Now was saying, but we need the sequel?
- 54:02Speaker 2: Yeah, say I have that on DVD too.
- 54:05Speaker 5: Is underrated, doesn't get enough of Well.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Today of the Dead has been has been hit with
- 54:11Speaker 2: some controversy. Yeah, let's go back to that.
- 54:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we weren't even close.
- 54:17Speaker 2: There's been some controversy here.
- 54:19Speaker 4: I know there's been some things about the box possibly
- 54:23Speaker 4: being AI because of the style of bub on the cover,
- 54:25Speaker 4: and some stuff with the audio track being censored, and
- 54:31Speaker 4: you have to watch it with the laser disc audio.
- 54:34Speaker 2: And their response for those rumors was kind of very
- 54:41Speaker 2: angry and some sort of way, but you know, I
- 54:46Speaker 2: was happy for this.
- 54:47Speaker 4: The biggest thing to remember here is that this is
- 54:50Speaker 4: coming from an interpositive, which is essentially like a copy
- 54:54Speaker 4: of the original negative because the OCN is missing, and
- 54:59Speaker 4: I will give them there's a very funny bit. There's
- 55:01Speaker 4: a new like twenty minute bonus feature on this release
- 55:04Speaker 4: called Restoring Day of the Dead, and there's a very
- 55:06Speaker 4: funny bit about how twice they got so excited because
- 55:10Speaker 4: they found they thought they found the original negative and
- 55:12Speaker 4: it was for the remake. So I thought that was
- 55:18Speaker 4: very funny, And like, I'm no four K purists, So
- 55:22Speaker 4: like a lot of times I watch four K's and
- 55:24Speaker 4: I don't even really see that much of a difference,
- 55:27Speaker 4: you know. Sometimes I feel like sometimes I feel like
- 55:30Speaker 4: I just don't see that. And there's definitely an improvement here,
- 55:36Speaker 4: Like the movie does look better, especially in like the cave,
- 55:41Speaker 4: I call it a cave, the cave sequences where you
- 55:44Speaker 4: have the blue and red gels going on. Those I
- 55:48Speaker 4: got a lot more detail out of, especially when I
- 55:50Speaker 4: was watching the what's the documentary on here called It's
- 55:54Speaker 4: called The World's End. When I was watching that documentary
- 55:57Speaker 4: that was on the original Blue rat and it was
- 55:58Speaker 4: showing those clips from the Blue I was like, Oh,
- 56:00Speaker 4: I could really see where the improvement is in here.
- 56:06Speaker 4: I think Screen Factory kind of doing this packaging with
- 56:08Speaker 4: the hard box and the two individual cases housing the
- 56:11Speaker 4: four discs, with the giant stack of art cards, is
- 56:14Speaker 4: them kind of compensating for, you know, a transfer that's
- 56:20Speaker 4: not exactly the most upgrade worthy, you know, so they
- 56:25Speaker 4: really kind of put some extra work into packaging into
- 56:29Speaker 4: his hard box and a dual case, and it's very appealing,
- 56:31Speaker 4: and it was at a pretty good price. I mean,
- 56:35Speaker 4: I'm happy with it, don't get me wrong. The moment
- 56:38Speaker 4: another company announces this, I'll probably.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Sell a second sight. Yeah, I'll probably sell this on.
- 56:47Speaker 4: A heart feet if that ever gets announced, I'm this
- 56:49Speaker 4: will be gone so fast it'll be it'll just it'll
- 56:53Speaker 4: it'll just vanish from the collection.
- 56:54Speaker 5: With no It's it's the artwork, isn't it.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Hey? The artwork isn't doing it in a favors. It's
- 57:02Speaker 2: very like it doesn't match the movie. It's ai.
- 57:05Speaker 6: I mean, I'm not saying it's a Let me just
- 57:07Speaker 6: make that clear. But I have to agree with people
- 57:10Speaker 6: say it looks like an AI image.
- 57:13Speaker 2: You know. I don't mean to disrespect the artist if
- 57:15Speaker 2: it was you know, actual someone who did it. But
- 57:17Speaker 2: it was the CRP group. I mean, come on, that sounds.
- 57:23Speaker 5: Who is that.
- 57:25Speaker 6: I actually had to look it up and it's a
- 57:27Speaker 6: It's a company that they do digital artwork for businesses
- 57:33Speaker 6: and stuff like that.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Yeah, the RFP.
- 57:39Speaker 5: I mean, what happened to getting you know, an artist
- 57:44Speaker 5: that is gonna put up maybe a little bit more
- 57:46Speaker 5: love into it. I mean, look at it. We would
- 57:47Speaker 5: just talking about those Blu ray releases.
- 57:50Speaker 6: You know.
- 57:50Speaker 4: It's interesting though this is the same company who did
- 57:52Speaker 4: the Mario.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Baba of the Box.
- 57:57Speaker 5: I'm not seeing it definitely.
- 58:01Speaker 4: Well see if you if Mario Bobber came up before
- 58:03Speaker 4: the AI advancements, that's true.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Same look, Chat and Jim and I have definitely got
- 58:11Speaker 2: gotten better.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Sense just a round out Day of the Dead. I
- 58:15Speaker 4: still think that's Georgia Merrow's masterpiece. I think it's toom
- 58:18Speaker 4: Savini's magnum opas.
- 58:20Speaker 6: Oh, just from that opening scene of the Zombie you
- 58:24Speaker 6: can see in the sunlight backlit behind them.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Which, by the way, was a fucking puppet, like a
- 58:30Speaker 4: hand puppet.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Yeah, insane.
- 58:34Speaker 4: I really love Day of the Dead. I think Rhodes
- 58:37Speaker 4: is one of the most incredible batship zany villains you.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Could possibly have.
- 58:43Speaker 4: I think the end run of the movie, the violence
- 58:46Speaker 4: is so shocking and jarring. The effects are incredible.
- 58:51Speaker 2: And I do think that while while not as.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Obviously like, it didn't make it anywhere the money that
- 59:01Speaker 4: Down did. It didn't have anywhere the mass market appeal
- 59:05Speaker 4: that Dawn did. I think it's a more interesting movie
- 59:08Speaker 4: than Down of the Dead. I think it explores much
- 59:11Speaker 4: much more interesting themes.
- 59:13Speaker 2: At least for me.
- 59:15Speaker 4: Also, next time you watch Day of the Dead, I
- 59:19Speaker 4: want to remind you that it came out the same
- 59:21Speaker 4: year as Reanimator and Richard Liberty's performance of doctor Matthew
- 59:27Speaker 4: Logan is strikingly similar to Jeffrey Comb's performance.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Of doctor Herbert West.
- 59:36Speaker 4: I could see that very similar even in like the
- 59:39Speaker 4: tone and the mannerism and his his his speaking. It's
- 59:43Speaker 4: incredibly similar, so much so very Yeah, my wife and
- 59:47Speaker 4: I were like, hold on when like somebody had to
- 59:51Speaker 4: take inspiration from somebody on this and turns out they
- 59:54Speaker 4: came out in the same year.
- 59:55Speaker 2: So well, I mean, Jeffrey Combs, that's kind of who
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: he is as a person. I mean, if you watch
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: interviews like he he is Herbert West. The way he.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: He's a really goofy in person.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: His rhythm, the way he taught everything is that is
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: Herbert West. So I mean, if anything to your argument,
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: I don't think he he definitely didn't take any inspiration
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: from the Day of the Dead for sure.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: Which have you guys ever seen the director's cut of
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: The Frighteners?
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: No, but isn't that coming up from uh Errow?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: I heard Arrows putting it out. That's what I hear.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I believe.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: So, but his performance in The Frighteners, especially the director's cut,
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: when it's revealed about the history of being a sexually
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: for the Nazis, is insanity.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: And it's only in the director's cut. So do yourself
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: a favor and watch that.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: Arrow.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: I need that in four K, Yeah, we need that
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: in four K yeah, yeah, four K.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Jordan, what did you did you bring the Frighteners director's
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: cut for your second pick?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: No? No, my second pick, let's go with I picked.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: I got this.
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: This is gonna be a Hammer release, Shocker Hammer, but
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: they're released of the House of Hammer.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Volume one. This is a.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: It's it's a documentary, but it's more than a documentary
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: because you actually get a short film in here, you
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: get a bunch of other little feature rats. This is
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: a part one of a documentary in this kind.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Of follows.
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: It's It's funny because this one follows more AIP the
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: company a P, which is known at the time to
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: be Hammer's competitor, and it really follows the career path
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: of where Vincent Price played in ai P and how
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: kind of AIP similarities to Hammer UK when was US
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: based talked about that.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Guys, this is a great release. It is long.
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: I want to say, it's like two hours, maybe a
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: little overtarge. I can't remember the exact run time, but
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: just part one is that long. But in this release,
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: I mean, this is a great release.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: You're getting you're getting two discs in here, you're getting
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: a booklet as well. So no, Chris is gonna be
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: happy about that.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Just I'm telling you. I love the fact that Hammer
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: is really diving into its own history. Yeah, both both
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: good and bad.
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: Honestly, because they do kind of talk about the struggle,
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: not in this one in particular, but they've talked about
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: another like.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: The Heroes, Monsters, Villains, whatever it's called. That documentary release.
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: How what they tried to do, you know in the seventies,
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: trying to get as sleazy as possible really kind of
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: fell out of favor with much of the audience at
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: the time. They were just they just kept trying to
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: be the talk of the town, tried to be, you know,
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: something that no one else has ever done, and they
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: kind of got away from them.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: But this this is great.
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: I mean, they talk about so many different films and
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: here's something that I've never even seen that kind of
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: made me want to go back and have to start
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: a list of films I need to check out. If
- 1:03:28Speaker 6: you are a fan of Hammer or even AIP or
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: just interested, I mean, this is an incredible documentary I
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: think so that that's my next pick. Not not much
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: say about it other than that that it's just a
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: it's a packed release, and for.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: It only being volume one, I'm excited to see what
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: else they have.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Love what they're doing, I absolutely love. I'm hoping that
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: they do eventually like a box set you know, just
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: kind of put a lot of their titles, like maybe
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: once they've released a certain amount, maybe they'll do like
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: a simplified just here's all of the titles and some
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: of the bonus features in one set.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: But call and literally that would be so cool. Call
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: like the House of Hammer collection. It was something. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I just it's like kind of good trying to go
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: back and catch up.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: And some of the movies are some of the movies aren't,
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: Like you know, a lot of people don't know that
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Hammer had its original roots in like the New r Yeah,
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: you know, Movement. So a lot of those movies that like,
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: I'm interested in watching and interested in learning about, I'm
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: not interested in paying forty plus dollars to own in
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: that way.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I'd rather kind of have them in a more condensed
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: They need to do a box.
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: Set of all their films from the Curse on. Really
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: when they dove into they started picking from the universal
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: monster storylines, you know, putting them in a color, giving
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: them more edge to them.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: The whole Peter Kushionkers for Lee time at Hammer, I
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: think is they really need to I think be really
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: cool to see a box out of that.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: I think they if they did like a decade thing,
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: or if they even did like a nineteen thirty eight
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: to nineteen forty five, you know what I mean, or
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: like a set with their movies in that time. Erne
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: then they did a set of like nineteen forty six,
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: and you know what I mean, I think that would
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: be and I think eventually they will because they're gonna
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: they're gonna try to make as much money as they
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: can offees, which good on you.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: You're doing great work. You deserve it, you know.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: And I think eventually, in order to keep people interested
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: in keep new collectors buying, you're gonna have to repackage
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: these in some way.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, yeah, I agree. Yeah, since since the Hammer.
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: Went under, I forget the guy's name something Gore, the
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: guy who runs it now, he is just he's doing
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: good things over there.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: So I'm excited to see what sort they've got going on. Yeah, yeah, Steve,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: you have a Hammer movie for for us struggle?
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: Then no, I don't, but I've got something that hits
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: just as hard.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Vampires and so yeah, scarface. Oh so.
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: My friend over at Video and Tears and I we
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: were talking about Miami Vice. I've been doing a rewatch
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: that and Scarface felt like the next best way to
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: really enhance that overall experience. You guys are a fan Scarface.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, of course it's the palmment.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: Yeah. Man, I think every now and again I have
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: to be reminded why this film is just so iconic,
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: And this was like going back to my DVD days.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: This was one of the first few DVDs that I
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: had in the collection, and it felt like at the
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: time it was such a like almost like a rite
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: of passage for my movie collection. You're starting to get
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: into some of like the grittier, you know, crime films
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: that the time, but with Scarface. This is obviously directed
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: by Brian de Palma, written by Oliver Stone, and falls
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: around after arriving in Miami. Cuban refugee Tony Montana is
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: determined to escape poverty and achieve wealth empower at any cost,
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: so rising through the city's violent drug underworld alongside his
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: loyal friend Manny, Tony's building a vast criminal empire fueled
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: by ambition, ruthlessness, and excess, and you really see the
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: rise and fall of Tony Montana. I mean, I've owned
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: this film in a number of different formats everything ranging
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: from BHS all the way up to four K. Some
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: of the standout features with this film that I really
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: appreciated was on the first disc for the four K
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: we get the thirty fifth anniversary reunion. This is I
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: think one of the more standout features. Said, we get
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: an opportunity to hear from Brian de Palma himself, and
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: then the actors We get Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, and
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: Stephen Bauer as they discuss their roles in the film.
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: And then on the disc two Blu Ray, we get
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: a number of different retrospectives and just short documentaries discussing,
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: you know, various aspects about the film, get some deleted
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: scenes as well. But overall, I mean, it's it's I
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: wouldn't say that this is one of the top tier
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: four k's I have my collection. It was just a
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: fun film to go back and revisit and just really
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: appreciate just how much I adore this film.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I played this ship out of the video game.
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that was well. And I would argue that this
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: is probably one of the biggest influences between this and
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Miami Vice on Vice City too.
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: M m oh, yeah, why was it like I feel
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: like I was. I was able to watch like I
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: feel like I was allowed to watch Goodfellas long before
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: I was able to watch Scarface.
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: It was the opposite for me, really, I yeah, Goodfellas,
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: I I at the time, I wasn't aware of it.
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: I see that maybe till maybe like a year or
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: two after I saw Scarface for the first time, Okay, okay,
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: and then that's when it finally got into Martin scort
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: szy I gott Sopranos around the same time. But I
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: would have to say probably Scarface or the Godfather films
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: or that those are probably the earliest I guess gangster
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: films I saw at the time.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Godfather for me definitely was probably my earliest deaf say,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: my dad was big into the Godfather. He loved those movies. Goodfellas.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: I think that was wasn't all I mean, I'm trying
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: to remember.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: It wasn't there around a lot when I was younger,
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: But Godfather definitely, I specifically remember those.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Those three movies.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: A lot of people had that in their collection. I
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: just remember the Godfather Rocky always in the VHS collection.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Well, Scarface was a duel VHS.
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, same with Goodfellas and Casino.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Oh good, Oh yeah, mm hmmm. What was the other
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: one I had that was a duel?
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: I was saying private Ryan, it was a dual one
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: that I had. Titanic, the most rare vhs on the planet.
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: I thought that was the Mummy?
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Oh, is it is?
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: It?
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: Has it become the Mummy? Now times have changed. My
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: third pick is going to be quick. It's just one
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: that I've been diving into. I uh, for some reason,
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: got the urge to revisit the Bill and Sad trilogy.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: Oh nice putting trilogy in front of that's really really
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: odd to say. I told you guys about a year
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: ago that I've just been more focused on rewatching things
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: that we have in our collection and going back and
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: watching a lot more commentary tracks. And I was a
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: little disappointed when I started getting into this set when
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: I watched Excellent Adventure, because I was like, oh, it's
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: really not anything exciting on any of these discs. And
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: then I throw on Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: saw there were two commentary tracks for some reason, recorded
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: for that movie alone. None for Face the Music, none
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: for Excellent Adventure, but Bogus Journey has two audio commentary
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: tracks that I have to sink back into at some
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: point soon. We also rewatched Bill and Ted Face the
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: Music for the first time since the first time I
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: saw it, however many years ago.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: It's been now since that came out, and still.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: Holds up pretty good, you know, not terrible. Bogus Journey
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: is still my favorite. What about you, guys, what's your
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: favorite in the Bill and Ted saga.
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: I'll be honest, I haven't seen any of them. Oh
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: whoa you might have inspired me to what finally sit
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: through and uh watch them?
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Whoa Jordan? That's that's surprising. That is surprising. Well, I've
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: only seen Bill and Ted's excellent Adventure.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: That's even more surprising and more surprising.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: No, I've only seen the first one.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is fantastic.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: But Bogus Journey, when they go to hell and meet
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: death is arguably one of my favorite comedies of all time.
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: It holds up so well, and then Face the Music
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: is a good, you know, way to return to kind
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: of like do something modern. I think Alex Winter aged
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: much better than Keanu Regis did in the part, and
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: you can definitely see that the sense.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Of humor has changed, you know, from the eighties to
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: the you know.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Twenty twenties. I think when that came out. What's really
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: funny is I always forget that Samorrow Weaving, isn't it
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: she plays she plays one of the daughters, So perfect
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: casting there for that role. Yeah, just uh, you know,
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: sometimes good to go back and watch these movies. You
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: guys definitely need to get on it. And Jordan, you
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: need to at least watch Focus Journey. Steve, you need
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: to watch at least Excellent Adventure.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: Okay, you got it. Please for you Chris, of course.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, And then we'll cover them on
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: the show.
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: And then just make sure you have a chance to
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: watch Jaws a second time. I think you might like
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: it a little bit more.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a second time.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: I think I might watch I think I'll watch it
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: for the second time this week on fourth of July.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: I actually prefer Cruel Jaws more than Jaws.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: So whoa Jaws five seven and coming back in, coming
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: back around, always.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Comes back around to seven.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: It wouldn't be uh, it wouldn't be a fourth of
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: July without Cruel Jaws.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, Well, Jordan for now on. Your nickname
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: to me is cool Jawls. Oh cool, No, it's cool Jawls.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: You gotta throw the s in there. I'm from I'm
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: from right outside Philly. It's cool Jones. Actually, it's cool
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Jones Jordan.
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: If you want to go ahead with your with your
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: with your last pick man, yeah, man, you know.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: So I got this from Via Vision. They sent this
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: one over and I finally was able to check it out.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: But I've seen it before, revisited it two thousand and
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: six when a stranger calls, I didn't even know that
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: the original the remake of one.
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Give it a spin.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Let's let's there, you go right there. Look at that.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: There's the back. They're in a nice little hard case.
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: Those are like the that reminds me like the video
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: store days.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Yes, I didn't even know they put that out. Yeah.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: The thing with via Vision is because I think I
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: think we talked about this before, Australia just seems to
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: kind of they are lacking in a lot of titles,
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: and so I think VA Vision's really the one is
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: putting some of these titles out and they're giving these
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: awesome packaging.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: I forgot how fun this movie is it's definitely.
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: It's it's a different take on when a stranger calls
- 1:15:22Speaker 6: from the original. Of course original, The part everyone likes
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: is the first what fifteen.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Minutes of that movie. Then the rest of the movie
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: is a like a lot of order episode, but this
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: one really focuses on the babysitter that night with the
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: phone call.
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: And you know, I forgot so in here the main actress,
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: Camilla Bell, she's the main that's her right here.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Tessa Thompson's in this, which I was shocked to see.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: And then Katie Cassidy if you guys recognize that name.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: I look who she's.
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: She was actually one of the main characters in the
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: Nightmare and elm Street remake Nightmare and Elms Street. Oh
- 1:16:16Speaker 6: she was, Yeah, yep, Katie Cassidy. It's like, hey, anyways,
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: you guys.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Wait till you guys wait till every remake gets the
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: four K coda edition.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: Uh, but what I thought was really cool about this movie,
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: and what's interesting is there's a whole sequence where they
- 1:16:42Speaker 6: use she's she's babysitting at this house is like this
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: mansion and uh, I mean, I'm sure Stephen knows what
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: I'm talking about is in this house, it's got this
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: like a garden pond inside their house house that's kind
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: of exterior. It's got an open ceiling. They got glass
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: around it so where they can have a pond, you know,
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: water plan villa field, yes, And in there they there's
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: a cool scene where her and the kids are trapped
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: in the middle and the stalker is staring at her
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: through the glass. He's inside the house and they're stuck
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: in this little section and it's got like all these misters,
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: and that's how they kind of escape. They flip on
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: the misters and the whole thing becomes foggy, the misters
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: and they try to escape. Now is it as good
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: as the original?
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: I don't think it is. I really do like the original,
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: But man, this feels like a two thousands movie the
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: way it's shot heavy.
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: Just the coloring of the screens just screams two thousand
- 1:17:52Speaker 6: and that heavily over saturated like kind of greens.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: I guess that that makes any sense.
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: I always think of like like the text Chainsaw Masker
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: remake or Friday the Thirteenth, you know, it was.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Like the hyper punch contrast and stuff. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: how it feels. But it's such a fun movie.
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: It took me back to like Seem said, I remember
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: seeing that at my video store and it was a fun.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: It was a fun revisit.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: I think some of those remakes just felt too they
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: feel too long. It's like the Prom Night Remake. Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: it's like I really like real quick, really funny story
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: about the Prom Night Remake. I was watching it and
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: I think I believe my wife was watching it with
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: me or she was in the room, and I was like,
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: why is this movie almost two hours long? And I
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: went on this big tyrant about the runtime of the
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: Prom Night Remake and I was like, there's no reason
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: for this. And then when it was over, I was
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: putting the disc back into packaging and I flipped it
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: over it it was like ninety two minutes. It's like, oh,
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: ships moved slow. God damn, this movie moved like a
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: slug dude. Yeah, that's dude.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: I need to get that. I forgot.
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: They Every now and then, man, they do something. They
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: put out a title that's so shocking like that, or
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: like when they did I think the only Viavision releases
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: I own in that style are Wolf Creek and uh, yeah,
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: one one that they put out that I love, All
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: the boys love Mandy Lane.
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: Oh I don't have that one I've got. I'm trying
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: to think I have the Grindhouse double Feature.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: The They did a really cool one. They did Cabin Fever. Yeah,
- 1:19:41Speaker 6: and it's Cabin Fever, the Cabin Fever Spring. This is
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: called spring Fever. I think it's called uh and then
- 1:19:48Speaker 6: the remake this so they have all three of them
- 1:19:51Speaker 6: in there.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: Have you ever seen Cabin Fever two? The tay West one?
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: No, how is it?
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: The Only thing I remember is, uh, some guy balls
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: falling off.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: It sounds it sounds about right.
- 1:20:07Speaker 5: I got the only ones you really need.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Halloween, Oh, the Halloween one, Lord's the Saalem. Yeah, those
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: are great ones. I know the one that I want.
- 1:20:16Speaker 6: It's out of print, that imprinted the same company is.
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: It's the Martin Scorsesees Films of Faith.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: If you guys have seen that.
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: Box set, let me take a look, dude, that that
- 1:20:29Speaker 6: box set's got like, uh, you know, last Imitation of Christ?
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Well, obviously, I think the title kind of tells you
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: where spoiler there was one other one.
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: Take Christ is a good one.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: But it's uh, that's a Criterion release I need to
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: pick up.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: Speaking of Scorsese, Jordan, what happener? Lighting looks like the
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: Irishman's being filmed to your room?
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Well, what happened?
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: Is it got dark? Well?
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: Speaking of Christ, do you guys know that? Do you
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: guys know that Mel Gibson is shooting a sequels Passion
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: of the Christ?
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: I had no idea. I just learned that what comes next?
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: I think it's the Resurrection, is it?
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: Yeah? Oh, that's a bit well, I mean that's a
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: big it's just a big gap in between.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: It's actually, uh, it's the Passion three days leave the
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: weapon four Yeah, no, well the Passion ends with him dying.
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: Yeah, but I feel like it's a it's a sequel
- 1:21:39Speaker 5: that I feel like, if you're going to do it,
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: you should have done it a long time.
- 1:21:43Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, Well, I think it's because you know,
- 1:21:47Speaker 6: Mel Gibson got kind of act from Hollywood, so no
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: one would work with him.
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: He had to much like much like Christ himself, he
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: had to make a sacrifice and we got flight risk
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: and that's what gave him the approval to do mhm.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Hey, though I think he's funding this one completely himself.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: I don't know, ye where's leath the weapon four? Or
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: leath the weapon five?
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: Sorry, well, speaking of leath a weapon five, I've got
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: something better. I promise. I will let you guys down.
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: I've been saving this for the end. Hey, chainsaw massacreb.
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: Why don't you Why don't you turn that upside down
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: and flip it around for us?
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: Why?
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: I saw all the contents all out. Don't you do
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: that to me?
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: Don't worry, man, mine have already dented and banged around
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: and it takes grill looks bang around and.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Let's let's see this. Let's see the spine. Let's see
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: the spine of that box set. No, no, no, the corner.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: I want to see the corner. It looks it looks
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: pretty good. The the edge at the top, this looks
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: pretty Oh. No, yours is definitely oh yeah, there it
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: is there.
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: It is a little cleavage, if you will, no, but
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: uh little.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: Shout out to Vloria Video for coming through on this
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: Texas chainsaw box set. I know we were all in
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: agreement on trying to pick up something extra special like this,
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: but I had to say this to the end. What'd
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: you guys think of this release, guys fans.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the artwork's cool, and the special features,
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: it's it's the whole.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: Uh, it's just toss in dinner with leather face and
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: uh chain reactions on in plastic little cardboard or car
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: whatever they are sleeves.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: And dinner with leather face doesn't even come into box.
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: I would focus more on the content that you get
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: with this than any thing.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I mean, look, it's like a toy chest. You open up,
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: everything's loose.
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: I agree, but that's not the point. The point is
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: that I feel like we've got we've got between this
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: and the second site release. I don't think I need
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: anything else. I'm all texted chainsawed out for at least
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: the first movie.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: When you put the bumper sticker on your truck, right,
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: that was the first thing I did. Come on, man,
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: put it right over my two exist sticker.
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: My clientele for for real estate has definitely shifted since
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: setting that bumper sticker.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: Like, hey, where's that barbecue joint at you're representing on?
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: No?
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: See why you always why you always munching up on
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: chili between your showings.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: It's not a bad set at all.
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: I mean, I definitely just have some complaints about the
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: arrangement of it, but super stoked to have such a
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: nice edition, especially considering that we don't own the Second
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: Site my weapon. I don't own the Second Site edition.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: Oh okay, okay, yeah, I'm you know, I'm happy about it.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: There was definitely some.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: There was definitely a little bit of disappointment, but I
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: think that's because I had set my expectations so high
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: because it was coming from Turbine and you know, so
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: those were expectations that were set in my own mind,
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: not based off any proof of photos or anything like that.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: So I can't fault them for that.
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: I mean, in all fairness, I have to say, above
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: all ELTs, it's definitely a stack release. You've got, you know,
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: thirteen I think it's like thirteen plus hours of bonus
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: material spread across some of the discs. You got artwork
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: from Tony Stella for the box set itself, which is incredible.
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's loaded with audio commentaries obviously, I know,
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: you know, we're all big fans of those, So we
- 1:25:51Speaker 5: have that on the first disc, and then we see
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: how many disk total is for this release. You know what,
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: I think disk that's crazy.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Does the Turbine.
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: Copy of Chain Reactions have all of those different editions
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: on it?
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: I don't think that it's just the documentary. Just the documentary.
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: Yeah, whai, leather Face shut up at U Jordan's place.
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think you get like all of the uh.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: All of the uh oh.
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: You get the Australian VHS version, you get the British
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: Super eight version, but you don't get like the the
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: Barbecue version and all that stuff.
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: What was the difference with that one?
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: It had like eight different styles of the movie. It
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: had like the Grindhouse version, the Grindhouse cut, the Barbecue version,
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: and all that stuff in the in the Dark Sky
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: Media book one.
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: I mean I think that Okay, so you're obviously getting
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: I mean, okay, so for somebody that didn't have either
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: of the documentaries and the collection, I was pretty happy
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: to get both of those. So getting Chain Reactions and
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: then my dinner with leather Face again. I think that
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: this release it has everything that I really need. I mean,
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: between this and the second site box set, I'm completely covered.
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: I feel like this is a film that I don't
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: I don't need more additions of this has everything covered
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: with like the extras and then the second site release.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: It's just I mean, it's just a gorgeous set to
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: begin with, and yeah, I have to say, I mean
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: it's definitely a standout piece in my collection.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, it looks great.
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: I still wish, you know, and maybe one day, for
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: the right price, I would pick up the you know,
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: the Chainsaw set from Dark Sky, just to get that
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: fiftieth anniversary yeah you know version. But no, hey, one day,
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: you know, I only need to own five copies of
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: that movie.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: I wonder if Turbine will ever end up doing something
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: like this for any of the sequels.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Big Box of Text, the Next Generation.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: Immediate preorder, no hesitating.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: I believe I think they did. They did. I saw
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: his showing it off today.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: They did leather Face that Alexandra Didario.
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: The Media Book though, right.
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they did the Media Book. Yeah.
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: So outside of this, do you guys have a lot
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: of media books like that? Because I don't. I really don't,
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: and part of me is I always get a little
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: like a gun shy to pick them up.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: I think the only media book I own other than
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: that is the Chain Reactions from Dark Sky, and I
- 1:28:51Speaker 6: guess they're media books. They technically are the A twenty four.
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: Oh God, Midsomar in the Green.
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: Night I have from Turbine, I have, I have a
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: movie called The Lover media book from them.
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: That's it though it's summer, just needs a nice box
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: that it's like the The blemish in my collection is
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: that I don't I'm not a big fan of that,
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: that style, it's so big.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: Well, what sucks is like the only way, the only
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: other way to get the director's cut, which in my
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: opinion is the superior version of the movie, is to
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: get the Italian release. They never done like a standard
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: release of the director's cut from Midsmore.
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: For that one that you're referring to, is that just
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: like a standard slip? Yeah?
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Yeah, the director's cut was only available on the A
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: twenty four. Oh yes, okay, or an Italian release of
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: it that came out like a standard you know, Italian release.
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: I'm just surprised we never got hereditary.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: I was listening.
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: I think that one, I think is like stuck with
- 1:29:56Speaker 6: in like rights issues for someone. Yeah, I can't remember
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: who owns it right now, because this that was early
- 1:30:03Speaker 6: on in age twenty four.
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: Just give it to Arrow. Please just both of them.
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: Give them no second site, second site, second site.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: But I was I was listening to an interview with
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: oh Man what Ari Astron.
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: He was saying that that Midsomar, the first cut that
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: they ever put together, was like four or five hours long.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: M give me a snydermar at least a Snyder cut
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: black and white with a the old school ratio.
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, dude, I'm here for like I wish, just
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: for fun, Like give us those cuts, you know what
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: I mean, Like, give me the give me the three
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: hour cut of nos Robert Eggers that you supposedly had.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: Like, give me.
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: It's like Obsession just got announced today on four Games, right,
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: and it doesn't. It's not the extended cut that that
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: Curry Barker publicly talked about for like a month.
- 1:31:05Speaker 6: I just wonder why.
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: I'm still picking it up.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Oh no, so am.
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: I Let's let's ponder about it for a while. Let's
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: just think about it.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: Let's try to get Curry Barker on here. Curry, I'm
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: sure he'd be down.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: He likes Hereditary, Yeah, and that's like his favorite movie.
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: I still haven't seen Obsessions. You do yourself a favor.
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: We'll see it. It's a good one.
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it's only about to surpass centers at the box.
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: Office that's surprised by I'm not a question.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Did you guys see back Rooms?
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: Of course? Man, I still think about it.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Did you really see it?
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: What'd you think.
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: It's? I thought that was decent. I don't know something.
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: I don't think it's like anything incredible.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Yeah, would you like a Captain Crunch shut up for
