- 6:22Speaker 2: What are these called cards? Que cards, Q cards, some
- 6:25Speaker 2: for the Dad's Q cards. Those are not in the store.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Either very nice. I'll go ahead and kick it on me.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I had a hard one for you boys that I
- 6:34Speaker 2: need help with. I don't want to start I don't
- 6:35Speaker 2: want to start off the episode crying yet. Okay, here
- 6:40Speaker 2: we go.
- 6:41Speaker 1: This one is from Ian nat Natch Ian Natch seventy
- 6:45Speaker 1: three sixty six, Pt.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Six Van sure Shureham Chef Derek Willie one chelf. My
- 6:50Speaker 2: name's Ian.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I'm an Army veteran from Missouri, but go war eagle
- 6:54Speaker 1: and a dad to a three year old little savage boy.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I got out of the Army in twenty twenty and
- 6:59Speaker 1: have struggled to find the brotherhood I had in the military.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I lost one of my best friends from my unit
- 7:04Speaker 1: to suicide in February. Rip, Sergeant Brandon Rock. I miss you, buddy.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I found the show in June.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And it's given me something to look forward to every
- 7:12Speaker 1: week and when I was and still admitted and admittedly
- 7:17Speaker 1: still am struggling with the loss. Thank you for the
- 7:20Speaker 1: needed last and the brotherhood here with BT six. Good
- 7:23Speaker 1: love you boys, Let's fucking kill this week. I love
- 7:26Speaker 1: I said I didn't want to read an emotional one,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and that one got emotional.
- 7:30Speaker 2: R Yeah, dude, Ian could not agree more with you.
- 7:33Speaker 2: On a personal level. I feel the same way about
- 7:37Speaker 2: the show as well, with just being able to feel
- 7:40Speaker 2: that like camaraderie, and it makes me so happy that
- 7:44Speaker 2: that is coming through the camera, that that's coming through
- 7:48Speaker 2: the earbuds, that people are getting that friendship, that camaraderie,
- 7:51Speaker 2: that brotherhood or sisterhood for the empty sixers out there.
- 7:57Speaker 2: But I love hearing that thank you for your vulnerability, brother.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And just building off that because I had another one.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Barbie Hasten, Yeah, sixty two eighty six. This is to
- 8:08Speaker 1: shout out the military moms and dads. I love the show.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Thought for a show military dads and moms, shout out,
- 8:14Speaker 1: shout out to them dealing with them missing monumental moments.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Thank god we have FaceTime and other social media to
- 8:19Speaker 1: stay present. I am a daughter of a veteran. My
- 8:22Speaker 1: dad served twenty years in the army and my mom
- 8:24Speaker 1: was a trooper raising us without dad. Maybe just a shout.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Out to them, dude, let's go yeah, shout out. Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 2: definitely shout out the military. Shout out the military boys.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And those guys who are tuning in that, you know,
- 8:37Speaker 1: get some connection and relatability like through us, because I'm
- 8:42Speaker 1: sure that they carry such extremes amount of guilt serving
- 8:46Speaker 1: their country and doing the things that they feel like
- 8:48Speaker 1: they need to be doing and missing big moments. I
- 8:52Speaker 1: personally truly can only imagine what those guys go through,
- 8:57Speaker 1: just because again, like you gotta, these guys are ready
- 9:01Speaker 1: to die for the country, like put their life on
- 9:04Speaker 1: the line to protect and serve, while also having such
- 9:07Speaker 1: a strong tug and guilt not being back home like
- 9:11Speaker 1: with their family, with their kids. I big time, dude.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I cried seeing Scarlet at the airport after a week
- 9:19Speaker 2: of not seeing her in person because the onesie that
- 9:21Speaker 2: she was wearing the toes used to poof out it
- 9:24Speaker 2: was too big for her. And then I go to
- 9:27Speaker 2: pick her up at the airport and it's fitting her snug.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I literally teared up. That's after a week.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Dude, Isn't it a nuts like, especially when you have
- 9:36Speaker 1: the first one. I still like seeing the same stuff
- 9:38Speaker 1: as little old scott Zilla Scotti jo Lee.
- 9:41Speaker 2: But you're gone for a few days and you come
- 9:44Speaker 2: back and you're like, you're growing up on me. She's
- 9:47Speaker 2: gotten huge, Your voice is changing huge, Her eyes the
- 9:51Speaker 2: way they open now I'm just like, you're actually seeing
- 9:53Speaker 2: shit now, like, yes, Ugh, it was rough, it was rough. Okay,
- 9:59Speaker 2: I have a good I have a good one. We
- 10:01Speaker 2: have a little surprise for Willie c Okay. This came
- 10:05Speaker 2: from Derek, who found it on our for the Dad's
- 10:08Speaker 2: Instagram page. Shout out Derek. This comes from Darren. In
- 10:13Speaker 2: been listening to for the Dad spot since day one.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I have an eleven week old boy and this podcast
- 10:19Speaker 2: has given me a lot of laughs and advice to
- 10:21Speaker 2: get me through the newborn trenches. Name is Darren, and
- 10:24Speaker 2: I've been a longtime follower of Busting with the Boys
- 10:26Speaker 2: because of Will Compton. I worked with the Redskins back
- 10:30Speaker 2: in twenty fourteen as a training camp preseason athletic trainer intern.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I was assigned to hydrate the inside linebackers. Shout out
- 10:39Speaker 2: coach ko. I just listened to last week's episode and
- 10:43Speaker 2: I got a picture of me and a gatoray towel
- 10:45Speaker 2: over my shoulder because Will would always take the towel
- 10:49Speaker 2: to wipe the inside of his helmet. Almost every rep
- 10:52Speaker 2: of Indie Drills been meaning to share this fake and
- 10:55Speaker 2: thought Will would appreciate this. Shout out Shurm for all
- 10:58Speaker 2: your tips. In the recent I'm Cozy Bottle Washer portable set,
- 11:03Speaker 2: which we just bought because of you, awesome Darren, he
- 11:07Speaker 2: provided this wonderful picture dude of old will Compton circa
- 11:12Speaker 2: twenty fourteen. Look at that, that's your boy.
- 11:15Speaker 1: That's when I was number forty six. Like that's when
- 11:18Speaker 1: it was when it was pea squad for your boy.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It's my first training camp.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Here hold it, hold it. You talk about it like
- 11:24Speaker 2: you hold it all right.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So here here here's myself with me and my boy Darren,
- 11:30Speaker 1: and uh yeah, this photo right here is your boy
- 11:33Speaker 1: rocking number forty six. This was my first training camp.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This is my rookie year, and I was forty six.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I was at the bottom of the depth chart. I
- 11:41Speaker 1: think I was seven out of seven with the linebackers,
- 11:44Speaker 1: like I wasn't even with the threes. I got to
- 11:45Speaker 1: rotate in with the threes. And I was number forty six.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And I thought, as I was wearing the jersey, I'm like,
- 11:52Speaker 1: your boy's not gonna last long because who else was
- 11:54Speaker 1: forty six Alfred Morris, Pro Bowl running back for the
- 11:58Speaker 1: Washington Redskins at the time. So I thought it was
- 12:01Speaker 1: just TikTok for your boy. But this photo is awesome.
- 12:04Speaker 1: It warms my heart, it fires me up. The Darren's
- 12:06Speaker 1: tuning in to Pop A Team six and for the
- 12:09Speaker 1: Dad's podcast.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And then I tried telling you didn't like and had
- 12:14Speaker 2: to be dry, and yeah, she got it from Pops.
- 12:18Speaker 2: So you're like, when she gets.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Done crying and stuff, she takes like a good like
- 12:22Speaker 1: three minutes just to make sure everything's dry.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm just like, you are Daddy's girl. Can I can
- 12:28Speaker 2: I say something just really quick that will probably break
- 12:31Speaker 2: your heart? Is growing up, dude, I know, man, I'm
- 12:34Speaker 2: seeing these pictures. I'm like, that's not a little toddler.
- 12:37Speaker 2: That's a little girl. I know, I know, And it's uh.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I was reflecting on it too, because I feel like
- 12:43Speaker 2: she's just our relationship. It's it's always.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Been strong, but I feel like she's actually becoming like, uh,
- 12:52Speaker 1: like we're actually like homies. Because we're watching the other
- 12:55Speaker 1: night when I was We're watching Sunday Night football Ravens Bills.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And I tweeted about this too because she kept bringing.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Up the yellow team, but Scottie Mom had Scottie upstairs,
- 13:08Speaker 1: was putting her down. We didn't want to go upstairs yet,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and the little least for me, it was like the
- 13:14Speaker 1: games starting.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I would love to not miss kickoff.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So I was like, you can watch a series with
- 13:19Speaker 1: your old man before we go upstairs, but after the
- 13:22Speaker 1: series is over, we got to go upstairs and get
- 13:23Speaker 1: ready for bed. She said, Okay, we're sitting there watching
- 13:26Speaker 1: the first series and she's she just hits you with
- 13:29Speaker 1: just random I love you dad, Dad. Just we're sitting
- 13:33Speaker 1: there watching ball Man so that the black team and
- 13:38Speaker 1: then the Bills were wearing Bills are wearing their blues, right, yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 1: they're blues. She said, oh, who's the blue team like
- 13:47Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills. Your daddy almost played for the Bills. And
- 13:51Speaker 1: then she was like the black team and she's like,
- 13:52Speaker 1: do you play on the black team and the blue team.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I was like, no, your dad had played on a
- 13:55Speaker 1: different black team, the Raiders and the red and the
- 13:58Speaker 1: red team with the Redskins. And then dad also played
- 14:01Speaker 1: on a blue team, but it's not the same blue
- 14:03Speaker 1: team as the Titans. And she started to you know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: we're sitting there just watching the first drive. She's just
- 14:07Speaker 1: slowly she's like leaning back on and she said, I
- 14:09Speaker 1: love you dad, like looks up at me and it's.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So awesome but also so sad at the same time.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, just because she is growing up. She's growing up there,
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah she is, and she's she's just a stud man.
- 14:22Speaker 1: She had her We had our first soccer practice with
- 14:24Speaker 1: her last week and that was a lot of fun.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I couldn't wait to just get the lawn chairs, have
- 14:31Speaker 1: me a liquid death. I needed a cold doctor death,
- 14:34Speaker 1: liquid death. Did doctor death shout out no free shot.
- 14:38Speaker 2: No fore shot to look with death, because I had
- 14:40Speaker 2: already had.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You know how your boys are in the shop, Like
- 14:42Speaker 1: I'm pounding these first forms, Like there are these four energies,
- 14:45Speaker 1: like you're going out of style. Couldn't have won at
- 14:47Speaker 1: like five o'clock.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I have two right here.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Yeah they're great, but UH couldn't wait to just go
- 14:52Speaker 1: sit in the lawn chair and just watch your place.
- 14:53Speaker 1: She was the only girl and she's like shy, she's
- 14:56Speaker 1: very attentive, doesn't have the need to get the killer
- 14:58Speaker 1: instinct out of her. She's kind of you know, bashful,
- 15:01Speaker 1: like does everything right and stuff. But I need to
- 15:03Speaker 1: see her take down a couple of the boys, like
- 15:05Speaker 1: beat them in some of the races that they were doing.
- 15:07Speaker 1: She scored a couple of goals, Like when they put
- 15:09Speaker 1: the nets down, they let you dribble it down there
- 15:10Speaker 1: and kick it in.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Okay, but it was just it's fun. Is she hitting
- 15:14Speaker 2: any ballet dance moves out on the field. Uh, she
- 15:18Speaker 2: hit spin one time, not yet, but she like they're
- 15:21Speaker 2: talking about a dance move and she like, you know,
- 15:23Speaker 2: she hit she hit just.
- 15:25Speaker 1: An incredible spin. Yeah, leg kicked up and everything else.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Kid is a stallion on the scooter. I've talked about
- 15:32Speaker 1: him many times, just blowing our you know, our nanny,
- 15:37Speaker 1: our nanny at home, Like she just blows her away
- 15:39Speaker 1: with some of the new tricks. Like she just we've
- 15:41Speaker 1: I listen, I've robbed enough about Rue on the scooter.
- 15:45Speaker 1: But she she's growing up. She's a spark plug, bro.
- 15:48Speaker 1: She's very sweet, knows what she wants. Got some attitude
- 15:52Speaker 1: with her when it comes to us. But if it's
- 15:54Speaker 1: another authority figure everything else, Like she's very very shy
- 15:58Speaker 1: and calm and sweet. Yeah, but it's nut seeing or

- 16:07Speaker 1: we have this.
- 16:07Speaker 2: By the way, this could be a survivor Survival kitka
- 16:12Speaker 2: is we have this digital frame that's like connected to
- 16:15Speaker 2: like Charles's phone to the cloud and just it just
- 16:18Speaker 2: rips old photos. So you just see the old photos
- 16:20Speaker 2: of ru In Scotty's age and rue it a year
- 16:23Speaker 2: and a half and just moments where it's like, ah,
- 16:27Speaker 2: it makes me sad, not like those are gone. Yep,
- 16:31Speaker 2: those are gone. Yep.
- 16:32Speaker 1: All we have now is the photos and videos. That's
- 16:34Speaker 1: why it's like, take as many photo and videos as
- 16:36Speaker 1: you can because it's gone.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Shout out whoever DMed me that exact dat hack you
- 16:43Speaker 2: were on my I have a saved album of like

- 16:51Speaker 1: Take as many one of the Take as many as possible.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Man videos all of it. So in there you a
- 16:58Speaker 1: you see scott Zilla scooting across the floor this morning,
- 17:01Speaker 1: No like Parsons going after that.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Send it up, put it up, put it put it up, man,
- 17:07Speaker 2: drop the videos.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Like you know, I'm biased, I'm fired up on the
- 17:11Speaker 1: world's gotta see this ship.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Bro.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Send it to Max Cross because I was like Max
- 17:17Speaker 1: crossby going after sex, So I send it to him.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They check out Scotti, Joe Lee. She's a menace. A menace.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Bro. Once a raider, always a raider, and she's born
- 17:27Speaker 2: into that. She's she's grandfathered in good. The silver and blacks.
- 17:31Speaker 2: They look good, by the way.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I don't want to sit here and talk about the Raiders,
- 17:34Speaker 1: but Gino Smith and that offense they looked good.
- 17:36Speaker 2: They did, they did.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Going all the way back. Yeah, the moments they they
- 17:41Speaker 1: go by. You're happy that they're growing up because you're
- 17:45Speaker 1: it's a new phase. There are always new challenges and
- 17:47Speaker 1: new things to look forward to and be excited about.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But you're also sad at the same time because all
- 17:51Speaker 1: those moments are dead.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yes, yes, they're like tears in the rain, as uh
- 18:00Speaker 2: was said in what movie was that Blade Runner? They're
- 18:04Speaker 2: lost like tears in the rain. Yeah, amen, Bro, that
- 18:08Speaker 2: is so true. I know every day just every parent
- 18:11Speaker 2: is just like God, yeah, man, like, how do you
- 18:13Speaker 2: bottle this shit up and make these moments last forever?
- 18:15Speaker 2: Especially when you're annoying, piss off ru.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I just don't play for the yellow team And that's okay, Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 1: that's okay. We did have to go back and forth
- 18:24Speaker 1: and got to a point, Hey, quit asking.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I didn't do it so quick as yeah, yeah, go
- 18:32Speaker 2: to bed.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 2: She's like she gets.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Into this storytelling over where she's like saying the same
- 18:36Speaker 1: stuff over and over and over in a way to
- 18:39Speaker 1: where she's like, we're both kind of smiling and laughing,
- 18:41Speaker 1: and she gets a chuckle out of me. So she
- 18:43Speaker 1: just keeps going and runs the stories and questions into
- 18:46Speaker 1: the ground to the point where she's saying, it's still
- 18:48Speaker 1: possible to play for the Yellow team. Daddy doesn't play anymore, Dad,
- 18:52Speaker 1: it doesn't play anymore. That was my past life.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He's done. Yeah. Have you seen the X rays on
- 18:57Speaker 2: the knee? Yeah, you see the back. You know about
- 19:00Speaker 2: the becksweetheart, I'm done. I can't play anymore. Very heartwarming
- 19:08Speaker 2: talking about like all the time that is just lost instantly,
- 19:12Speaker 2: and I think it's from this comment. JJ sums it
- 19:16Speaker 2: up quite nicely with this comment. I thought this was
- 19:19Speaker 2: pretty heartfelt. PT sixer. Going on my third deployment recently,
- 19:25Speaker 2: I found myself mounting my lioness giving some of the
- 19:29Speaker 2: best performance of my life, clapping cheeks so hard that
- 19:32Speaker 2: my cheeks were clapping type shit. All of a sudden,
- 19:36Speaker 2: the enemy was behind friendly lines. My three year old daughter, Daddy,
- 19:40Speaker 2: what are you doing? The secret assassin was in the room. Good.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I had to think quick, we're playing a game. It's
- 19:48Speaker 2: called belly flop bad And that's the first use of
- 19:54Speaker 2: the bad with the period fellas. If you get caught
- 19:57Speaker 2: in action, don't say you were playing a game. I
- 20:00Speaker 2: am now made up a game that is called belly
- 20:02Speaker 2: flop that my daughter wants to play profusely, preserve and overcome.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That comes from JJ Sell's house you tube. I just
- 20:12Speaker 2: thought that was pretty heartfelt. I understand. Yeah, after we
- 20:15Speaker 2: were talking about such sweet things.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Good for that married couple, just feeling confident of the
- 20:20Speaker 1: klet cheeks midday. Well, the three year old's up and
- 20:24Speaker 1: comb and around, just daddy mounting his lioness. That is poetry, JJ,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that's poetry.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Thank you, Oh god.
- 20:34Speaker 1: God, dude, that's funny. Uh you know, yeah, I've never
- 20:39Speaker 1: been in a close call with that. You Usually you're
- 20:43Speaker 1: trying to sneak in a quick mountain before you got
- 20:44Speaker 1: to go upstairs and wake them up. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: And you know you get into the proper position. The
- 20:49Speaker 1: next thing you know, you started hearing like you know,
- 20:51Speaker 1: the wake up noise and everything else, and you're just
- 20:52Speaker 1: taking your head.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Gotta getta gotta go quick. So you're a morning guy
- 20:57Speaker 2: at times. Yeah, okay, I'm mostly a morning guy too.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I'm glad we share that. Yeah, we switch every now
- 21:03Speaker 2: and then. Yeah, we do two, just twos because I
- 21:07Speaker 2: get that itch. Daddy gotta hit ye, come on, come
- 21:11Speaker 2: home something. Cheryl will hit me with it. Just in
- 21:14Speaker 2: the morning, Alexa, set alarm, set alarm for four thirty am.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And I promise when that alarm goes off, it's like
- 21:26Speaker 1: my eyes open up, and that's the first thought.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Of my head. Go time, go time. Hey, honey, kids
- 21:33Speaker 2: are waking up. Don't worry.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Daddy's specialty will make it quick, quick and disappointing. Fro
- 21:41Speaker 1: do tune into the past. Love the podfellas Names Name's been,
- 21:47Speaker 1: Name's Ben. Big fan of Bustle with the Boys before
- 21:50Speaker 1: the spot. I got a funny story that you guys
- 21:52Speaker 1: might like. It's a long one, so I hope it
- 21:54Speaker 1: is June third, twenty twenty five, the day of your
- 21:57Speaker 1: guys first episode. I remember waking up that day and
- 22:00Speaker 1: seeing a video suggests it on YouTube, clicking on it,
- 22:03Speaker 1: seeing seeing it was for the dad. It's thinking, man,
- 22:05Speaker 1: that's a great idea. I'll have to run these back
- 22:08Speaker 1: when me and the old lady decide to start popping
- 22:10Speaker 1: the little ones out. I go about my day, taking
- 22:12Speaker 1: the trash out, mowing the lawn, getting some work done,
- 22:14Speaker 1: and my lady comes home from more complaining about being
- 22:17Speaker 1: nauseous and feeling blah. All day, I comfort her, not
- 22:20Speaker 1: thinking anything of it. Day turns into night and we
- 22:23Speaker 1: eat dinner and are contemplating whether or not late night
- 22:26Speaker 1: ice cream run is the move or not. She is
- 22:29Speaker 1: still complaining about feeling bad and says she is three
- 22:31Speaker 1: days late on her time.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Of the month.
- 22:34Speaker 1: So me and the goober I am suggests, let's go
- 22:37Speaker 1: get a pregnancy test and get some ice cream and
- 22:39Speaker 1: we can put your mind.
- 22:39Speaker 2: At ease and get a sweet treat.
- 22:41Speaker 1: An hour later, and seven positive pregnancy tests in I
- 22:44Speaker 1: found out I'm going to become a member of PET

- 22:52Speaker 1: becoming a father by reminding me what it's all about.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Keep this going. You're doing all good. If we could
- 23:01Speaker 1: get some big and tall sizes and bustle with the
- 23:04Speaker 1: boy Store for us dads that are six five three
- 23:06Speaker 1: fifty former offensive lineman, that would be sick. Great note,
- 23:11Speaker 1: great note, and great story. Congratulations fro Do.

- 23:33Speaker 1: It's like one of those things where were like, what
- 23:34Speaker 1: a sign that was? Yeah, first time seeing the episode
- 23:38Speaker 1: going throughout the day, Oh, this will be fun, and
- 23:41Speaker 1: then finding out Yo, I'm gonna be in PT.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Six Yes, dude, And I love I love reading those comments.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I've gotten just a handful of those here and there
- 23:49Speaker 2: of like your first episode coincides with like when we
- 23:53Speaker 2: found out that we were pregnant. So whenever I see
- 23:56Speaker 2: like the episode come up of let's say this week,
- 24:00Speaker 2: week fourteen, Oh my wife's fourteen weeks pregnant. I love
- 24:04Speaker 2: that that they have that little counter and that's fun
- 24:06Speaker 2: for the dads. Has created some babies it. People are talking.

- 24:30Speaker 2: you guys for tuning in and leaving comments. I do
- 24:32Speaker 2: have one last comment.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Listen, I got a stack here. We get sprinkling comments
- 24:37Speaker 1: throughout the episode.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Oh we could do whatever I did, So this one
- 24:41Speaker 2: is specifically fun because I love this idea. This comes
- 24:45Speaker 2: from this is off YouTube. This comes from Amelia White
- 24:48Speaker 2: eight one three zero new Milk Team six here. My
- 24:53Speaker 2: husband and I also new PT six member to a
- 24:56Speaker 2: two month old boy. Love the pod. Please please have
- 25:03Speaker 2: Charo in Jill design some Milk Team six shirts. I'm
- 25:09Speaker 2: super jealous of my husband's Papa Bear shirt. Laughing emoji,
- 25:13Speaker 2: handhard emoji, hard emoji. Get on it, Willy one shelf
- 25:18Speaker 2: and knock off Stafford. I love that she didn't call
- 25:22Speaker 2: me Pat Stafford. She called me knockoff.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Staff And if she's listening to herself, like get on
- 25:25Speaker 1: a Willie one shelf. Let's have a resume here that
- 25:28Speaker 1: says I won't be getting on it anytime soon, anytime,
- 25:32Speaker 1: anytime soon.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I love that idea. But I love the girls designing
- 25:36Speaker 2: something for the girl. Yeah.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I like how just the women wives and moms out
- 25:42Speaker 1: there have been just engaging with dads and PT six.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I love that they're jealous.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I love that they're jealous because I've had a couple like, oh,
- 25:50Speaker 1: you guys are a lottle cute for the dad's pot.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Friends of mine that are like badger me, oh dads
- 25:55Speaker 1: like they say, they're like, oh, you have it so rough,
- 25:58Speaker 1: like moms have it way worse than you.
- 26:02Speaker 2: You know what I said, Please enlighten me. What you said?
- 26:07Speaker 2: I said, bitch, and you probably did say it because
- 26:10Speaker 2: your guy for it.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Something like that. Yeah, I said something like that. But
- 26:14Speaker 1: I'm thinking, look, dad, life.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Is just as hard. It's just it's hard. And y'all
- 26:23Speaker 2: know those videos of the Ashton guy where he's sprinting.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I say, y'all that meme of dad's coming to tell
- 26:30Speaker 2: you how hard it was to watch their wives give
- 26:32Speaker 2: birth on the little hospital couch, and it's just that
- 26:35Speaker 2: action good. I was laughing so hard. We wish we
- 26:40Speaker 2: could take that pain away, Yeah, we really do. I
- 26:43Speaker 2: wish I could breastfeed. I wish that too. And if
- 26:50Speaker 2: I could, I would.
- 26:51Speaker 5: But.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Give us a hormone quickly, quickly after I stood on
- 27:00Speaker 2: the hill for PT.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Six because listen, we don't back down from anybody, because moms,
- 27:06Speaker 1: we don't back down from anybody. But once I once
- 27:09Speaker 1: I pitched how difficult it is to be a father.
- 27:13Speaker 1: You are right, though, mom.
- 27:15Speaker 2: This comment started with milk cream six is funding to us,
- 27:19Speaker 2: and then it just started to we got it hard. Yeah,
- 27:22Speaker 2: we got away, were talking.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Ship but immediately folded like a lawn chair. Listen, I'm aware, Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 1: but dads need a space.
- 27:31Speaker 2: We do need a space. Basis, y'all shut us up,
- 27:33Speaker 2: wait too fast. Seem to be on our side, though
- 27:36Speaker 2: they seem to be. They agreed, they like this. Yeah, good,
- 27:40Speaker 2: we're good. Yeah, we're good. Listen, we'll calm down and
- 27:43Speaker 2: quiet down in the car. Trust us. So you got it.
- 27:47Speaker 1: You're making a lot of sense. It doesn't make sense
- 27:48Speaker 1: to me right now, but you're probably making a lot
- 27:50Speaker 1: of sense.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Oh you like my show and you want a mom shirt? Okay, God,
- 27:54Speaker 2: I'll stop talking about it. Sorry, shut at the moms shout.
- 27:59Speaker 2: We love you guys. I do have a question, go ahead, how.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Are how are your systems and operations operating during football weekends.
- 28:10Speaker 1: I had a pretty clean weekend. Something that I'd like
- 28:13Speaker 1: to correct. It was week one football where it's full.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You know, you're you're rolling out the operation. First weekend
- 28:19Speaker 1: of NFL in college, so it's like, got to watch
- 28:22Speaker 1: ball on Saturday. Ah, honey, NFL starts this weekend. Got
- 28:27Speaker 1: to watch ball on Sunday. Somehow, my wife they had
- 28:32Speaker 1: a little bar three outing, a little team building out
- 28:35Speaker 1: of a winery on Saturday.
- 28:37Speaker 2: So your boys got the kiddos at home.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Timeline was real silent, real silent on the way I
- 28:42Speaker 1: was operating on Saturday. I'm talking when six and two
- 28:45Speaker 1: on my fan duel bets and was operating as a
- 28:48Speaker 1: solo dad at home and it went quite well. Got
- 28:52Speaker 1: to have some ball on then at times Ruven told
- 28:55Speaker 1: me that I can't watch TV. You can't watch TV.
- 28:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I had to get out the old iPhone and just
- 29:02Speaker 1: kind of have it quiet while I played hide and
- 29:04Speaker 1: seek and stuff. As long as I keep up with
- 29:06Speaker 1: the scores, see what was happening. Posters already won, so
- 29:08Speaker 1: that he was in the barn for your boy, he was.
- 29:10Speaker 2: In the barn. He was a nice little sixty eight
- 29:12Speaker 2: zero sprinkled. Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 1: And while Mom was enjoying herself for six hours down
- 29:20Speaker 1: south at the winery in Franklin, shaking her ass upside
- 29:24Speaker 1: down in a party bus, Dad was putting up numbies
- 29:28Speaker 1: at home.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Well deserved, very well deserved. I was fired up for
- 29:32Speaker 2: I was.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, listen, if I got to be
- 29:35Speaker 1: in the mud on Saturday like this, good, Yeah, yeah,
- 29:38Speaker 1: this is the test that I need. There's gonna be
- 29:40Speaker 1: zero complaining. You're not gonna hear from me, sweetheart. One time,
- 29:44Speaker 1: one time about where something is your boy can operate
- 29:48Speaker 1: even with football on the TV.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and operate we did. I'm talking. Scotty took a
- 29:53Speaker 2: good long two hour nap, woke.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Up a couple times, put herself back to sleep after
- 29:58Speaker 1: crying for maybe a couple of minutes. One time she
- 30:00Speaker 1: fell asleep, like sitting up. I got she was wineing.
- 30:02Speaker 2: She like she fell asleep and then kind of plopped over.
- 30:06Speaker 2: It was adorable.
- 30:07Speaker 1: She took a great nap ruin Hird, a great, great
- 30:10Speaker 1: time playing hide and seek, doing some quiet time where
- 30:13Speaker 1: she's doing some puzzles and things like that. Ended up
- 30:17Speaker 1: taking him to the park around what four o'clock, three
- 30:21Speaker 1: forty five. Oh nice part of that second slate to
- 30:23Speaker 1: college ball. Wanted to watch it, but hey, let's get
- 30:26Speaker 1: the kids out of the house. Yeah, rue's been bored.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It's good for the kids to be bored every now
- 30:30Speaker 1: and then that it needs to watch some ball. Balanced
- 30:33Speaker 1: it all very well. Lunchtime was on point with a
- 30:36Speaker 1: PBNJ and some mac and cheese. Scottie was operating, putting
- 30:40Speaker 1: down the bottles left and right. I'm talking puffs. We
- 30:43Speaker 1: had them ready to go for her little snack time.
- 30:45Speaker 1: She's crawling around being a little missile.
- 30:48Speaker 2: But overall, great effort by the old man.
- 30:52Speaker 1: You know, I hate pat myself on the back, and
- 30:54Speaker 1: you know I hate attention, or else I would have
- 30:56Speaker 1: been tweeting about it. Took every couple drafts saved on that. Yeah, like,
- 31:01Speaker 1: everybody's real quiet.
- 31:02Speaker 2: This isn't about me.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Let's laugh at Willie one show for not building a show.
- 31:05Speaker 1: But you're all real quiet when I'm fucking operating with
- 31:08Speaker 1: ball on the screen and watching a three year old and.
- 31:10Speaker 2: A nine month old. But it was a wife came
- 31:14Speaker 2: out of that. Yeah, wife came home. Guess what she
- 31:16Speaker 2: walked in? What was happening when she walked in, Sherman,
- 31:19Speaker 2: go ahead and ask me, oh, hey, will, what was
- 31:21Speaker 2: happening when Charlie walked in? Timer was going off.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Alexa was going off for the fifteen minute timer from
- 31:27Speaker 1: heating up dinner, Mmm, warm plate, ready to go?
- 31:31Speaker 2: Kids, Ready to go? Oh sweetheart, you're still a little
- 31:33Speaker 2: you're still a little tipsy from the from your party.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Bust me. It's okay, sit down, Let's look you up
- 31:40Speaker 2: with this delicious meal. Yeah, as Alexa's going do doo
- 31:44Speaker 2: doo doo dude, doo doo doo doo doo. Yeah, is
- 31:47Speaker 2: that the one y'all? Oh yeah, do that again? Doom

- 31:55Speaker 2: get you some water. How's your date? You have a blast? God?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Do you look beautiful?
- 31:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:59Speaker 2: I would take you know right, no if these kids
- 32:01Speaker 2: aren't front of us, but I can. I'm a good dad,
- 32:03Speaker 2: so yeah, yeah, I'm at dinner for you.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, heat it up meal, hope you're hunger. That's basically
- 32:08Speaker 1: making dinner well, but all ready to go, all of
- 32:11Speaker 1: saying all ready to go.
- 32:13Speaker 2: PT six ers, this is Fat Stafford coming to you.

- 32:37Speaker 2: will be posting the details to a Wayfair giveaway. That's right,
- 32:41Speaker 2: one of our sponsors, crowd sponsors, Wayfair, has provided us
- 32:46Speaker 2: with a two hundred and fifty dollars gift card to
- 32:49Speaker 2: their site that we will have a post later today
- 32:52Speaker 2: with details on how to enter and how to win
- 32:55Speaker 2: on that two hundred and fifty dollars gift card giveaway.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Let me tell you a little bit about Wayfa, because
- 33:01Speaker 2: when I jumped on the site, I did not fully
- 33:03Speaker 2: understand what Wayfair had on its website. I thought, it's
- 33:08Speaker 2: just home decre it's just some lamps, it's just some
- 33:11Speaker 2: throw pillows. Nothing against lamps and throw pillows. Those are
- 33:15Speaker 2: great too. But they have a wide selection on the
- 33:18Speaker 2: site and they are the go to place for your
- 33:21Speaker 2: game day essentials. You might be thinking, oh, are you
- 33:24Speaker 2: just talking recliners in TV stands, which they have those two. No,
- 33:28Speaker 2: I am not I am talking grills. I'm talking folding chairs.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I'm talking servewear and barwear. Anything that you would need
- 33:35Speaker 2: at a tailgate, anything that you would need in your
- 33:39Speaker 2: man cave, in your mom cave. I don't know if
- 33:43Speaker 2: I can say mom cave. Now that I said that,
- 33:46Speaker 2: is that a double meaning? I don't know. Should we
- 33:48Speaker 2: cut it out of lad read Maybe we might keep it.
- 33:51Speaker 2: But they have everything that you would need to watch
- 33:54Speaker 2: your favorite team. When I got on the site, one
- 33:57Speaker 2: of the things that we decide we're gonna order from
- 34:00Speaker 2: Wayfair for our actual set is a Baylor themed wouldn't
- 34:06Speaker 2: cut out And they have a Nebraska theme wouldn't cut
- 34:08Speaker 2: out too. I literally got on Wayfair site, I typed
- 34:11Speaker 2: in Baylor Bears and it popped right up. So make
- 34:15Speaker 2: sure you go to the site. Type in your favorite
- 34:17Speaker 2: team's name. They're gonna have something with your team. They
- 34:21Speaker 2: even had a replica. I forgot to say this. They
- 34:25Speaker 2: have a replica of the stadium, a Baylor's stadium on
- 34:28Speaker 2: there and it's like in a plaque. That thing is nice.
- 34:31Speaker 2: They got some nice stuff on there. Make sure you
- 34:33Speaker 2: go check out the site because there's something for every
- 34:37Speaker 2: style and every home, no matter your space or budget.

- 35:29Speaker 2: cannot stress us enough. I'm proud of you, thanks man.
- 35:36Speaker 2: I am proud of you because your other half of
- 35:41Speaker 2: this show had maybe the worst display of husbandry slash
- 35:47Speaker 2: fathery this past weekend. No shit, Oh yeah, you said
- 35:53Speaker 2: it was bad, but you know, I don't know.
- 35:55Speaker 1: It's like, hey, we don't want to talk until we're
- 35:57Speaker 1: on the show. This is so I know nothing about
- 36:00Speaker 1: your weekend.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I take my podcaster like I give advice here and there,
- 36:06Speaker 2: you know, and have fun. I take that cap off
- 36:08Speaker 2: this episode and I put on the learner cap and
- 36:11Speaker 2: I need Coach Compton to come in. But let's just
- 36:14Speaker 2: be frank. Okay.
- 36:17Speaker 1: We might give bits and piece of advice, but nobody's
- 36:21Speaker 1: figuring it out weekend and week out. True, I'm telling
- 36:23Speaker 1: you a matter of fact, Scottie Dad lost fell off
- 36:27Speaker 1: the bottom stair and hit her head on my watch.
- 36:31Speaker 1: That's because I was watching a two minute drill. I
- 36:33Speaker 1: think I was watching Ku Miszoo at the end of
- 36:36Speaker 1: the game because it was a bomb burner, and I thought.
- 36:38Speaker 2: To myself, scott Zilla, she's going over by the stairs.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Usually she goes up a couple for I make my
- 36:45Speaker 1: way over there, and you know, let her climb the
- 36:47Speaker 1: entire flight of stairs.
- 36:49Speaker 2: And I looked over and even thought that give her
- 36:52Speaker 2: a couple of steps and I'll be over there. Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 2: And then she's on her back crying. And that's the
- 37:03Speaker 2: first time my wife she too.
- 37:05Speaker 1: My wife tunes in every week because she's got to
- 37:07Speaker 1: know what's going on, yes, and that's her first time
- 37:10Speaker 1: hearing that. It was I wasn't over there because missus
- 37:13Speaker 1: Ku was on and all that to say is buddy,
- 37:17Speaker 1: we fuck up, and there there there could be people
- 37:20Speaker 1: being like, I can't believe this, netlik, we all fucked
- 37:23Speaker 1: this up. We are not experts by any means. We're
- 37:25Speaker 1: gonna have nothing but bad moments as parents. And I
- 37:29Speaker 1: I appreciate you saying that, I'm fucking thump, buddy. I
- 37:34Speaker 1: appreciate you saying that.
- 37:35Speaker 2: But if there was a Richter scale of fuck upery,
- 37:38Speaker 2: I'm at like an eight point two. That was maybe
- 37:41Speaker 2: a two point six.
- 37:43Speaker 1: But the guilt that floods through your body when I
- 37:45Speaker 1: see her on her back and she's crying like like
- 37:47Speaker 1: Scotty is scott Zilla. She's tough for into two dollars
- 37:50Speaker 1: stake at waffle house.
- 37:51Speaker 2: She is baby. So seeing her cry and.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Be upset like, I felt low because I knew I
- 37:58Speaker 1: saw her go over there. You know, I thought, after
- 38:01Speaker 1: this play, I'm gonna go over and let her climb
- 38:03Speaker 1: up versus just getting my ass up.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I can still watch the play as a Yeah, she
- 38:07Speaker 2: wanted to sit back. I don't know what she was doing,
- 38:09Speaker 2: but man, I heard that thump, and I'm telling Rue, Hey,
- 38:13Speaker 2: this is dad AD's fault. Don't tell your mother. I'll
- 38:15Speaker 2: let me tell your mother. What did she say to that?
- 38:19Speaker 1: Uh, Charlie doesn't know that part either, if you're a
- 38:26Speaker 1: pet sixer. Yeah, and she's probably shaking her head right now.
- 38:29Speaker 1: And oh yeah, but Charo like she's walking upstairs a
- 38:33Speaker 1: changer and she was like, what's this lump on her head?
- 38:35Speaker 1: Like I see a bruise, But I think she was
- 38:37Speaker 1: talking about the side of her head. I don't know
- 38:39Speaker 1: where that came from. I think it's because she hit
- 38:40Speaker 1: like the corner of the table, like in the morning,
- 38:42Speaker 1: you know, as they're like trying to stand up. She
- 38:44Speaker 1: happened to be at like the corner of the table
- 38:45Speaker 1: and kind of kind of hit it and she was crying.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Neither of us really saw it, but I was like,
- 38:49Speaker 1: it's probably from when she hit her head. And then
- 38:52Speaker 1: later in the day I was like, hey, I just
- 38:53Speaker 1: want you to know Scotti fell off the bottom step.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And then you know, that was more of like she
- 38:58Speaker 1: felt the bottom step she started to go climb Scott Zella.
- 39:00Speaker 2: She was a menace. I couldn't get over there in time.
- 39:02Speaker 2: But she looks great. Yeah, now she's learning that. I yeah, yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 2: you know, you were just saying, how beautiful our daughter
- 39:11Speaker 2: is how she looks incredible. Yeah, she did fall off
- 39:13Speaker 2: the bottom snap right there, but she looks great. Yeah,
- 39:17Speaker 2: so that's that's that's uh, that's a dead loss of mind.
- 39:21Speaker 2: But go ahead.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I'm I'm I'm on the edge of my seat to
- 39:24Speaker 1: hear about an all time blunder in both arenas.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Dude.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Okay, so really I don't really have like a dad
- 39:33Speaker 2: loss of trenches a crack a cold one. I do,
- 39:37Speaker 2: but it's really all just one story. Is this show
- 39:40Speaker 2: you're throwing crack a cold one? You can just say
- 39:42Speaker 2: something positive, be like that's my crack of cold that.
- 39:45Speaker 1: We're telling stories, we're talking about our experiences. So this
- 39:49Speaker 1: is an all encompassing this is all encompassing. Okay, we're
- 39:54Speaker 1: back here again. I don't I don't listen. I don't
- 39:56Speaker 1: want to spread red ass. We're back here again with you.
- 39:59Speaker 2: We her, dude, because I just have the conversation that
- 40:03Speaker 2: I wasn't prioritizing my wife and that was my dad loss.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you've been given lessons and cried on this show
- 40:09Speaker 1: about being better. Yeah, and you topped your lows, topped it, doubled, tripled,
- 40:17Speaker 1: quadrupled down.
- 40:18Speaker 2: All right, let's get into it. On Saturday, the Bears
- 40:21Speaker 2: were taken on the Ponies of SMU. Great game, hell
- 40:25Speaker 2: of a ball game. Hell of a ball game. That
- 40:30Speaker 2: coincided the ending of that game with the pickup of
- 40:34Speaker 2: my wife that I haven't seen in a week, as
- 40:36Speaker 2: well as my two month old daughter. That's right, they
- 40:38Speaker 2: got back to Saturday. They landed at too. How was
- 40:42Speaker 2: your week before you jump into that part, You had
- 40:43Speaker 2: a good week, solo dolo.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Good week solo doo. But I missed the girls, no question.
- 40:48Speaker 1: After a couple of days, you kind of get bored.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Yes, all jokes aside, like you just kind of miss them.
- 40:52Speaker 2: And then I just like, I feel kind of guilty
- 40:54Speaker 2: that I'm not there, and I'm seeing these photos. They
- 40:57Speaker 2: are coming in scarlet and she's right up like Jill's
- 41:01Speaker 2: holding her against her chest and her head is fully
- 41:05Speaker 2: up looking at the camera behind Jill, and her eyes
- 41:07Speaker 2: are real big, and I'm like, oh my god, she's
- 41:10Speaker 2: like so cognizant and knows what's going on. She's growing
- 41:14Speaker 2: up and Dada isn't there, and I'm like worried that
- 41:17Speaker 2: when she gets home she's not even gonna remember dad. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:20Speaker 2: And oh man, I was just in a mental blender
- 41:24Speaker 2: all week. I missed the girls. But yeah, I mean
- 41:31Speaker 2: it was a good week. It was a lot of fun,
- 41:33Speaker 2: like having pizza and wings and Stummer at the house.
- 41:36Speaker 2: And I will say, like if there was any dad win,
- 41:40Speaker 2: like the house looked awesome when Jill got back. Okay,
- 41:43Speaker 2: that's about start. Only scrap that we could take. I
- 41:46Speaker 2: did like three loads of laundry, goll the dishes done.
- 41:50Speaker 2: The living room looked immaculated. One listening, you did seven
- 41:55Speaker 2: loads of laundry. I did. Sorry, I did seven loads
- 41:58Speaker 2: of laundry. Folded her laundry. That's a big one. That's
- 42:01Speaker 2: a big one because I'll do her laundry, but I
- 42:03Speaker 2: don't fold your laundry. I folded your laundry and put
- 42:06Speaker 2: it on her side of the closet. That is quite
- 42:08Speaker 2: literally the only dad win that I have. By learns
- 42:11Speaker 2: and you were playing, They're playing it's going in family landing,
- 42:14Speaker 2: Family's landing, It's going into overtime. I have YouTube TV.
- 42:18Speaker 2: As I'm walking into the airport, I'm answering calls from Jill.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Her flight landed a little early, so I was a
- 42:25Speaker 2: little upset with that because I tried to get there
- 42:27Speaker 2: early so I could park the car and help her.
- 42:29Speaker 2: She had a lot of check bags, and so I'm
- 42:33Speaker 2: answering her calls, Hey, I'm in baggage claim, Da da da,
- 42:37Speaker 2: and I'm still watching the game. She walks through the doors.
- 42:40Speaker 2: I do a good job of turning off the game.
- 42:43Speaker 2: I hug her, I hold Scarlet, I'm kissing Scarlett, I'm
- 42:46Speaker 2: kissing Jill. I start tearing up because Scarlett looks twice
- 42:50Speaker 2: the size of the last time I saw her, and
- 42:51Speaker 2: I'm like, this is not okay. Get down the baggage claim. Then,
- 42:55Speaker 2: while we're waiting for the bags, I say, close game
- 42:58Speaker 2: ranked smdu I gotta watch this game. I gotta watch it, honey.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. We have one hell of a comeback
- 43:06Speaker 2: cooking dave A. Randa might be the guy. I might
- 43:10Speaker 2: be fully sold Sawyer Willminson three four hundred yard games
- 43:14Speaker 2: in a row. Babe, this is a big game, dude,
- 43:17Speaker 2: guys age, We're not shiit, bro we ain't shit. And
- 43:24Speaker 2: she goes, we go along, we go by favorite girls
- 43:29Speaker 2: are home. Oh yeah, gotta watch the have to watch
- 43:32Speaker 2: the end of this game. Generational game. I'm with you,
- 43:35Speaker 2: trust me. We're in a barn burning railroas cooking. Maybe
- 43:40Speaker 2: you get this right. Here was the kicker my group
- 43:44Speaker 2: and shout out the boys. They know who they are.
- 43:47Speaker 2: My group from senior year of college has a FaceTime
- 43:50Speaker 2: going once we force overtime. I'm literally holding Scarlett in
- 43:54Speaker 2: the airport on the face time, going going nuts on
- 43:58Speaker 2: the face. Sime I was like, what are you doing.
- 44:01Speaker 2: You're jerking her around. I'm like, babe, it's a big game.
- 44:04Speaker 2: My bag's over there. Okay you're old or older? Well,
- 44:07Speaker 2: slow down, slow down. You're like moving too fast.
- 44:10Speaker 5: You know.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I'm kind of operating in my own little world of
- 44:13Speaker 2: like SMU Baylor, SMU Baylor. That's the prior Sickham Sicko.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I go get her bags. We're rushing to the car
- 44:21Speaker 2: and I'm like this the entire time, just holding the phone.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Get into the car. I did pick up her favorite
- 44:28Speaker 2: meal from fifty first a deli. I had her little
- 44:30Speaker 2: chicken salad sandwich ready for That's about the only Dad
- 44:33Speaker 2: win for the rest of the weekend. Now we get
- 44:35Speaker 2: into the bad stuff. She goes, hey, I just got
- 44:38Speaker 2: home from a trip and was flying with your daughter.
- 44:41Speaker 2: I was solo for the first time. I'd love to
- 44:45Speaker 2: talk to you about it, but instead you're driving like
- 44:48Speaker 2: a maniac, eating your fifty first Deli and trying to
- 44:51Speaker 2: watch YouTube TV and you're not talking to me. Oh, fair,
- 44:55Speaker 2: on all fair, on all things. I said, Honey, this
- 45:00Speaker 2: is a really big football game. As soon as this
- 45:03Speaker 2: game's over, I'm happy to talk with you. She said,
- 45:08Speaker 2: that's great, but I don't really feel like talking to
- 45:11Speaker 2: you after this game, because if we just have this
- 45:13Speaker 2: conversation about making me a priority, I don't feel like
- 45:16Speaker 2: a priority right now. So I don't even want to
- 45:19Speaker 2: want to talk after the game. This is the same
- 45:21Speaker 2: stuff we just talked about. So I swallowed that. I
- 45:26Speaker 2: listened to the rest of the SMU Baylor game, and
- 45:30Speaker 2: then it all comes to fruition at the house when
- 45:35Speaker 2: I just start to double down of essentially telling Jill
- 45:40Speaker 2: that she was acting like a third grader by saying
- 45:43Speaker 2: that she didn't want to talk. It's not funny, funny,
- 45:46Speaker 2: not funny, Jill that she didn't want to talk to me.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I said, I said some really choice stuff, and it
- 45:55Speaker 2: really went sideways for like no other reason than stuff
- 45:59Speaker 2: that was going on with me that had nothing to
- 46:01Speaker 2: do with Jill. But it literally turned into me being like,
- 46:06Speaker 2: I'm a nice guy to everybody. I'm all sunshine and
- 46:08Speaker 2: rainbows all the time. I get walked over by everybody,
- 46:12Speaker 2: and you know what, I'm going to start doing what
- 46:14Speaker 2: I want to fucking do. This is what you say?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I go. You're always telling me to not
- 46:20Speaker 2: put my feet up on the pillows on the sofa
- 46:23Speaker 2: because you bought the sofa with your money and you
- 46:26Speaker 2: don't want me treating the stuff like that. Tough shit
- 46:29Speaker 2: you married me, deal with it. And she has tears
- 46:32Speaker 2: coming down her eyes. I say, you don't like it
- 46:34Speaker 2: when my shoes are by the front door, I do,
- 46:36Speaker 2: they're going to be by the front door. And just
- 46:39Speaker 2: went on this rampage like I saw red and I
- 46:43Speaker 2: let Jill have it. Jill's crying. I'm holding Scarlet like
- 46:50Speaker 2: as I'm doing this, and then we just like didn't
- 46:54Speaker 2: talk for maybe four to five hours. She goes to
- 46:58Speaker 2: the bedroom. So I'm watching Scarlett all by myself and
- 47:02Speaker 2: I'm sitting there. I'm going, what what a complete jackass
- 47:06Speaker 2: I am that I just want treated my wife like
- 47:08Speaker 2: that that I haven't seen in a week, And now
- 47:10Speaker 2: I fully regret it because all I want to do
- 47:13Speaker 2: is talk to her and hear how Scarlet was, and
- 47:16Speaker 2: hear how Jill's like early thirtieth birthday that she had
- 47:19Speaker 2: with her family was. And as I'm feeding Scarlet, I
- 47:22Speaker 2: look down on her neck. There's a tick on her neck,
- 47:27Speaker 2: which I like start freaking out because I don't know
- 47:30Speaker 2: what to do with ticks, but I know that ticks
- 47:34Speaker 2: are like a very serious deal. They're a bad deal.
- 47:37Speaker 2: You can get limes, disease, all kinds of shit. So
- 47:40Speaker 2: I go wake up Jill. She's super flustered. She's already
- 47:44Speaker 2: emotional from our conversation, so she's flustered.
- 47:48Speaker 3: I have a tone.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I'm telling her, you know, put her down on the bed.
- 47:52Speaker 2: We need tweezers, Jill, we gotta get this thing off
- 47:55Speaker 2: of her.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Blah blah blah.
- 47:55Speaker 2: And we're looking up like next steps to do. I
- 47:59Speaker 2: end up getting the tick off of Scarlet. I don't
- 48:03Speaker 2: want to give like any health recommendations on here, but
- 48:06Speaker 2: there's call a pediatrician, call you know, whoever your doctor is,
- 48:10Speaker 2: if you do find a tick on your kid. Thankfully,
- 48:13Speaker 2: the tick that had been on Scarlet, it was less
- 48:15Speaker 2: than thirty six hours, which they say, is when lime's
- 48:19Speaker 2: disease and all that stuff can get contracted. But we
- 48:23Speaker 2: get the take off of her. Jill's frantic to then
- 48:26Speaker 2: we think we're gonna like run scarlet to the er,
- 48:29Speaker 2: and she's carrying scarlet up the stairs. Jill eats it
- 48:32Speaker 2: on the stairs. Thankfully, she covered scarlet up so she
- 48:36Speaker 2: didn't get hit, but Jill like eats it on the stairs.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Then she's like double crying it. Dude, it was terrible.
- 48:45Speaker 2: It was awful. I don't know what else to say
- 48:50Speaker 2: other than like it was the worst display of being
- 48:55Speaker 2: there for my girl, being like loving and caring tape
- 49:00Speaker 2: putting my ego first, just being pissed, reacting out of
- 49:05Speaker 2: anger instead of saying, hey, I did a really poor
- 49:08Speaker 2: job of like prioritizing you when you landed and I
- 49:12Speaker 2: missed you like crazy. I just like unleashed on her.
- 49:18Speaker 2: It sucked. And then we really didn't talk until like
- 49:22Speaker 2: Sunday night, when we kind of like figured everything out.
- 49:25Speaker 2: And even that was like kind of an argument chess
- 49:28Speaker 2: match that ended up being a really good conversation at
- 49:31Speaker 2: the end of it. But Jill and I never argue
- 49:34Speaker 2: like that, and I feel like I just let stuff
- 49:37Speaker 2: from like outside of my sphere with my wife like
- 49:40Speaker 2: affect me, and then I totally just lashed out on Jill,
- 49:44Speaker 2: the easiest and sweetest target that I could possibly find,
- 49:48Speaker 2: And I'm just pissed at myself. I'm pissed. I'm sorry, buddy.
- 49:55Speaker 1: It does I mean like that story is I would
- 50:00Speaker 1: say normal for every married couple out there with kids,
- 50:04Speaker 1: Like everybody has low moments like that. Yeah, Like I
- 50:07Speaker 1: remember the time I was telling you about Joel and
- 50:09Speaker 1: I in New York. Yes, and it should like you
- 50:12Speaker 1: just say off hands stuff that you don't mean in
- 50:14Speaker 1: the moment. Oh yeah, why do you think you uh,
- 50:19Speaker 1: why do you think you lost it the way you did?
- 50:21Speaker 1: Like the stuff that you're like projecting when you think
- 50:26Speaker 1: back on it and when you guys did reconnect?
- 50:28Speaker 2: Just too much stuff like pent up over time because
- 50:32Speaker 2: I do try and like stay way too positive and
- 50:35Speaker 2: I don't like flesh out or talk about things that
- 50:38Speaker 2: are affecting me emotionally, and so I let it build
- 50:41Speaker 2: to a pressure point. And then you know, when Jill's like,
- 50:46Speaker 2: I'm not going to talk to you, then I mouthed
- 50:48Speaker 2: off and say, oh great, my wife's home. It took
- 50:50Speaker 2: five seconds for her to be pissed at me. Shocker,
- 50:54Speaker 2: and then she's like, oh, Sherman's looking for a fight
- 50:56Speaker 2: because he never talks to me like that, Like, what
- 50:59Speaker 2: where did that come from? I was just hitting her
- 51:02Speaker 2: with so many of those, dude, I'll probably hit her
- 51:05Speaker 2: with like I don't know easily, like ten lines that
- 51:12Speaker 2: I'm just like, what was I doing? I was doubling
- 51:16Speaker 2: and tripling down. I was walking in circles in our
- 51:18Speaker 2: living room, just monologuing, went out into the front yard,
- 51:22Speaker 2: ripped all the weeds out, literally all the weeds. Pissed.
- 51:28Speaker 2: It's not good, it's poor display, dude, bed day to
- 51:31Speaker 2: be a raccoon, bad day to be a raccoon. And
- 51:34Speaker 2: so I like not only tell that story, but I
- 51:38Speaker 2: just apologize to Pt six as well, because it's like
- 51:42Speaker 2: you then hate that you have to go onto a podcast,
- 51:44Speaker 2: Like there's no way that I couldn't tell that story
- 51:48Speaker 2: and like continue to be on this podcast or else
- 51:51Speaker 2: I'd be an absolute phony. If that makes sense. Yeah, no,
- 51:54Speaker 2: it does, because I'm sitting there.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like when chro hit me with the you
- 51:58Speaker 1: got this one, Dad's pot and you can't take a
- 52:00Speaker 1: couple of minutes to put up a shelf that got
- 52:03Speaker 1: the boy.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Yes, dude, I'm sitting there that night, and I'm just like,
- 52:08Speaker 2: I know Jill's gonna be watching this episode closer than
- 52:10Speaker 2: any other episode. Wonder what he says, because if I
- 52:15Speaker 2: come on here and go, oh pet seg scoombrets like,
- 52:19Speaker 2: She's gonna be like, Okay, buddy, that's not what happened,
- 52:25Speaker 2: but just a huge bomber, dude, huge bomber. Okay, So
- 52:29Speaker 2: how did it come back around? We had a really
- 52:33Speaker 2: good conversation last night of basically getting our conversation start.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Conversation started with me helping her around, uh like picking
- 52:48Speaker 2: things up in the living room and her saying we
- 52:51Speaker 2: never really got to finish like what we were talking
- 52:53Speaker 2: about on Saturday night? What's going on? I said, I
- 52:58Speaker 2: just had a phone conversation that really pissed me off.
- 53:01Speaker 2: And that's like totally separate of this podcast. Has nothing
- 53:04Speaker 2: to do with like for the Dad's busting anything. It's
- 53:07Speaker 2: just like personal stuff with me. You had just had
- 53:10Speaker 2: a conversation that piss you off.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Now and she's asking you what's going on with Like
- 53:13Speaker 1: when she's askaying, like I don't want to talk about it.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I'm just saying I'm not gonna like talk about that, right,
- 53:19Speaker 2: all right?
- 53:20Speaker 1: But what I'm saying when you're talking to your wife,
- 53:21Speaker 1: are you saying that in away like you're not wanting
- 53:23Speaker 1: to talk about because you just had a bad phone call.
- 53:25Speaker 2: No, I said, here, here's the deal. I just came
- 53:28Speaker 2: off of this bad phone call that I think helps
- 53:31Speaker 2: highlight what I think happened on Saturday. I have a
- 53:34Speaker 2: lot of stuff, a lot of pressures outside of our
- 53:37Speaker 2: relationship with work, family, all this stuff that I'm letting
- 53:42Speaker 2: it build too much, and I'm not expressing those stressors,
- 53:48Speaker 2: those frustrations, those pain points that I have. I'm letting
- 53:52Speaker 2: them build up. And I took it out all on you,
- 53:56Speaker 2: and I feel terrible that I did that. I have
- 54:03Speaker 2: some stuff that, like I honestly need to talk about
- 54:06Speaker 2: with you, that I need to do a better job
- 54:08Speaker 2: of communicating with you. Because Jill made the great point
- 54:11Speaker 2: of like Sriman, if you had just told me at
- 54:13Speaker 2: the airport that that football game was against a ranked
- 54:16Speaker 2: opponent and it meant the world to you to watch it,
- 54:19Speaker 2: I don't like, you can watch your football game, but
- 54:22Speaker 2: you just need to communicate that, and I was trying
- 54:25Speaker 2: to tell you that in the car and then you
- 54:27Speaker 2: just took it to twelve and then all of a sudden,
- 54:30Speaker 2: we're talking about how people don't respect you and you
- 54:32Speaker 2: feel like you get walked all over by everybody in
- 54:34Speaker 2: your life. And it's like, what was I have to
- 54:37Speaker 2: do about that Baylor game? Like where did that come from?
- 54:41Speaker 2: That's crazy? And so getting that out and being able
- 54:47Speaker 2: to like talk through that stuff, talk about the phone
- 54:50Speaker 2: call that really frustrated me, talk about stuff in life
- 54:54Speaker 2: that's really frustrated me, that I'm not doing a good
- 54:56Speaker 2: job of prioritizing myself and prioritize Jill. Then Jill being
- 55:02Speaker 2: allowed creating a space where Jill then feels allowed to
- 55:06Speaker 2: talk about her emotions. She feels safe in this environment
- 55:10Speaker 2: because Sherman's not blown up on her and she's able
- 55:14Speaker 2: to say, Hey, these are things that I'm going through postpartum,
- 55:18Speaker 2: I just had a kid, I'm you know, I feel
- 55:22Speaker 2: like a stranger in my own body. These are things
- 55:25Speaker 2: that I'm dealing with. Conversations that like we've touched on
- 55:29Speaker 2: surface level, but we've never really gone deeper in it,
- 55:32Speaker 2: and really us just kind of saying like you and
- 55:36Speaker 2: I are a team, and it never needs to be
- 55:41Speaker 2: us going against each other. If anything, it needs to
- 55:44Speaker 2: be conversations of how can I rally around you and
- 55:47Speaker 2: help you in this situation you're feeling this type of way,
- 55:51Speaker 2: how can I come in feel that with you or
- 55:54Speaker 2: go through that with you and help you out of
- 55:56Speaker 2: that instead of there's a great like therapist word or
- 56:02Speaker 2: like what's it called when something's going on, you're projecting
- 56:05Speaker 2: onto somebody, like was projecting onto Jill and we hugged and.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Kissed and like.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Everything was really good from that conversation. And this morning,
- 56:20Speaker 2: I'm just getting pictures of Scarlet and Jill play scarlet
- 56:25Speaker 2: and an outfit that I bought for I'm gonna tear up.
- 56:29Speaker 2: But you're just like, fuck, like what was I doing?
- 56:36Speaker 2: Like that's my teammate and I came at her like that,
- 56:39Speaker 2: that's crazy. It just bummed me out. So yeah, that
- 56:46Speaker 2: was my dad loss. Yeah.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I appreciate you, uh sharing all that. I feel like
- 56:55Speaker 1: we're actually in a real conversation right now, which I
- 56:58Speaker 1: think is a good thing. I think what you're sharing,
- 57:01Speaker 1: I think a lot of people.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Go through and feel.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Yeah, man, when you when you reflect on, thinking like
- 57:10Speaker 1: what you could have done better, what you will do
- 57:12Speaker 1: better moving forward? A lot of it is communication, like
- 57:17Speaker 1: all of it, All of it is communication. Yeah, because again,
- 57:21Speaker 1: if she doesn't know you're going through that stuff, you're
- 57:23Speaker 1: you're you're sharing that I'm thinking. Damn, I wish I
- 57:25Speaker 1: would have known you were going through some of this
- 57:28Speaker 1: stuff because you are like happy, go lucky, like you're
- 57:30Speaker 1: sure you're fat Stafford, Yes you're bubbly.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Yes, but yeah, it's a tough one, bro, it's a
- 57:40Speaker 2: tough one.
- 57:40Speaker 1: But as long as you learn from it, and you know,
- 57:43Speaker 1: like some people don't ever learn it or see it
- 57:46Speaker 1: or see that they're the problem, or dig down enough
- 57:50Speaker 1: or look at themselves in the mirror long enough to
- 57:52Speaker 1: see like, what is actually bothering me?
- 57:55Speaker 2: So I think it's important. It's very good that you
- 57:57Speaker 2: do see that stuff and you eventually got there. Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Can I tell you, honestly, what's going through my head
- 58:05Speaker 2: right now. I've never wanted to buy jail a new
- 58:07Speaker 2: couch more in my entire life. Yeah, that's the only
- 58:11Speaker 2: thing that's going that is literally going through my head
- 58:14Speaker 2: is seeing my sweet wife with tears in her eyes
- 58:16Speaker 2: as I say, I'm gonna play my feet up on
- 58:18Speaker 2: the couch pillows as much as I want. If you
- 58:21Speaker 2: have a problem with that tough you married me, I'm
- 58:24Speaker 2: gonna be doing it. And she's crying because that's not fair,
- 58:29Speaker 2: and I just walked out of the room. I was like, bro,
- 58:32Speaker 2: I've never wanted to buy a new couch so much
- 58:34Speaker 2: of my entire life. Yeah, what was I doing? Jeff?
- 58:39Speaker 2: I had a great metaphor. I kind of like tease
- 58:42Speaker 2: some of this stuff with Chef before the pod. He
- 58:45Speaker 2: was like, oh, man, y'all's football program ain't built on that,
- 58:48Speaker 2: you know. And that's a ball dog. That's Semen team
- 58:51Speaker 2: six right there. That's just a rough week. Man, we're
- 58:54Speaker 2: you know, but we're one to zero and we're moving
- 58:56Speaker 2: on to the next week. That's owen one. That's open one.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Or as he said, it was a rat poison win. Yeah,
- 59:03Speaker 2: that's a win.
- 59:03Speaker 5: You squeak out and o t against a bad just
- 59:06Speaker 5: a bad opponent, and it's a win, But you get
- 59:09Speaker 5: in that locker room, it doesn't feel like a win
- 59:11Speaker 5: at all. Even though things came out positive and I'm
- 59:13Speaker 5: glad that they did, and thank you for sharing because
- 59:16Speaker 5: I think I think everyone deals with that.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Everybody deals with that, bro'. That's not it's not an anomaly.
- 59:22Speaker 1: It is like, it's a it's good to see you
- 59:25Speaker 1: gut check yourself like that because you're a thousand percent right.
- 59:28Speaker 1: The way you're seeing it coming off the handle like
- 59:31Speaker 1: that is like yeah, oh snap. As it was getting
- 59:33Speaker 1: more serious, I'm like, oh shit, like this is oh.
- 59:36Speaker 2: I know, I was looking at your face. I'm like,
- 59:37Speaker 2: am I over sharing on the spot?
- 59:39Speaker 5: No?
- 59:39Speaker 2: I don't think you are okay?
- 59:40Speaker 1: God, Like, I see it as like, oh, a real
- 59:42Speaker 1: conversation like that is a very nitty gritty, detailed thing
- 59:48Speaker 1: that you were sharing with everybody that one thousand percent
- 59:51Speaker 1: everybody goes through and I think you being vulnerable enough
- 59:55Speaker 1: to share those details and talk about how low you
- 59:58Speaker 1: felt and the things you actually said, I think it's
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: very relatable to every human being. It's not like it's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: just dads or men that go like this is everybody
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: has low moments like that, especially when they're not checking
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: in with themselves a lot.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: My first all like, as you're saying you're coming to
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: the end of some of the stuff, I'm thinking, so,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: how did it end?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Or I'm going to say, like, how are you feeling now,
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Like do.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: You feel solid right now? Do you feel better right now?
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: It's this stuff off the field, like you know, A,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I'm wondering how are you doing with that stuff? But
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: B if you are going through shit? And this is
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: for both, this is for everybody. You got a partner,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: we do, we do.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: It's like, uh, we talk about the standard of of
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: PT six and us wanting to be better.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: It's like, uh, you've got to share that stuff with
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: your partner because they have they have no ability to
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: help or even.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Though it's going on and vice versa. Yeah, and I
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: think this is not an excuse, but I think something
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: that Jill and I came to the conclusion of because
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: we have had a lot of conversations about how you
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: and Charro operate, how it's very similar to how Jill
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: and I operate, where we're trying to have those discussions
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: and deeper stuff of you know, this is what's going
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: on with me. But when you do have a newborn,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I guess this could be the advice that comes from it.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: The newborn just kind of takes over like every second
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: of every day. Yeah, and so those things just get
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: pushed because I don't have time to think about that.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I don't have time to process that or communicate that
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: with Jill. Because Scarlett's crying again. We gotta do this
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: diaper change, and we gotta and so you're like.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: And mom's going through a lot too. Postpartum is a
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: very real thing. Postpartum can last like up to I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: think my wife was telling me up to a year,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: maybe two years, the lingering effect of postpartum. So they're
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: going through stuff. So you like, men like, we want
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: to stay to we want to stay put together, we
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: want to stay strong, we want to be a leader.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: We don't want to put our bullshit. You know, when
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: something it's like, we got to take care of the
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't want to feel.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Like I'm.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Being a burden to my wife, Like when I know
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: she's going through stuff, and this stuff seems kind of
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: like I can handle it on my own, until you can't.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Then it comes out in such a an all fanned way,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: and then you're wondering how you got there. And it
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: all comes back to this communication and checking in with yourself,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: and not only checking in with yourself, but making sure
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: you have those those times with your partner. Dude, it's
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: it's it's a very hard balance, Like, uh, this is
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: where it's like you got to give yourself some grace.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I am happy that you guys had a conversation, because
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: that's all it really takes.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Like I'm sitting there.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Yesterday because Charro was going for those you know, doing
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the bar three day and then I gotta go stream
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: at night time. Yeah, I'm like late getting to the
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: stream because I'm just like, I don't want to leave
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: her in the trenches doing both kiddos bedtime. You know,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: when Michigan, when we were streaming the Michigan and Nebraska games,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: and then the next day she's working in the morning,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: and when she was working in the morning, I had
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: the the kids are set up.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Ru was doing something.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: But I'm like literally making a Google doc spreadsheet of
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: every hour of every day and color coding everything to
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: see where my balance of work and family time.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Because it feels like if you're somebody.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Who is like a working parent, which is the majority
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: of people, it's you feel like you're just being dad
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: or mom and then working or you know, you were
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: saying it last week, like you at times you feel
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: like roommates.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: You're not having intentional time.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Like yesterday last week I got childcare set up and
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: texted our texted the sitter and was like, hey, can
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: you come and watch the kids from eleven to three?
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: And Chary and I just like, fuck off, get out
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: of the house. I want to take her to lunch,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: you know, watch you know some NFL games like Connected.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: We went down on.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Twelve South to this La La Coffee, which, by the way,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: good coffee, but the longest lines fucking and magic. So
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I imagine I'm talking like it's this is like a
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: filtered spot, like Twelve's up by the way, is.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Booming, booming.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: But just have time and spend time together because it's
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: hard to find those pockets of date night or let's
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: go out to lunch, or let's go get coffee or
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: spend time with each other and kind of have some
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: conversations to where when we got done with those a
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: few hours together, she gets home and talking like, you know,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I kind of miss like just taking Root to the
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: grocery store and it's just me and Rue and we
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: get something to cook.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Later, I want to take her to this.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Garden or this spot over in Nashville where you pick
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: flowers and everything else. But if, in my opinion, if
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: we don't have that those intentional hours together. When we
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: pulled in the driveway, we're almost both ready to, hey,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you take a room and go this like I'll watch
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Scottie like you're set up to kind of part ways,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: so to speak, because we had like those intimate hours
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: together to connect and a lot of.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Times that's like all you need.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so prioritizing those times with their wife to where
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: you can talk about the things that's been on your
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: mind or bothering you and just reconnect and in this
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: busy life that we all have a lot of the
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: like I just again, just using yesterday's example, I was
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: so happy we did that, just because when we got home.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: It's not hey, you're home.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: We're all in the house, we're all a family together,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: we're all doing everything together. I'm trying to watch ball
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: at times while watching the kids. She's trying to do
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: her thing while watching the kids. So where I got
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: them a little bit more and you're both stilled, there's
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: something missing, And to me, it's like all that's missing
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: is like the Sims character, like when they have to
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: go to the bathroom, or when something happens and they
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: just start acting out of character because the meter's low.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, a lot of it is just we just.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Need some mom and dad time to where we are
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: hanging out. We're we get in the car, we get
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: out of the car. We don't got to worry about
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: the kid in the car, the kids in the car seat.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I'll carry this. Do we have the backpack? Do we
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: have the snack? Do we have everything we need to
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: be optimal? Parents? Are were going to the park today?
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: What do we want to do with the kids.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: It's like, no, we pull up, we park, We get
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: out of the cars, holding hands, going to this Mexican
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: bar to watch them games, have some brunch, go down
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to twelve South. We're walking together. She's like, I really
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: want to go to Buck Mason and I'm like, sweetheart,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: we're kind of we only got about thirty minutes, Like
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: we parked kind of far away. How about this, I'll
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: go get the car. You go to Bug Mason, do
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: your thing. I'll just pull around. I'll do take as
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: much time as you can. You go shop, do your thing.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: But it's just me and her primitive doing it. Yeah,
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: and it was. She got in the car and I said,
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: by the way, you're welcome, because the sun started. You know,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: it was a nice it was. It's been great weather. Yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: but it's where the sun is shining.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: And we were parked up a hill all onto our south,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: like on the complete opposite end of to a south.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: So my hamstrings are burning.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I'm sweating a little bit as I'm driving to get
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: her because we went all the way to buck Mason
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: and then a mile to walk to the car.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: We wouldn't have made it in time. We would have
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: to be there for just for just a couple of breasts.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: But she got in. I was like, hey, you're welcome,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: by the way, and you probably had a couple. Will
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: we watch out what you build me? Yeah? Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: BT six is out there for sure. Got a couple
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: of hey go big red them ran Akron out of
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: the stadium. I would have made you proud. When I
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: was flying out to DFW last week, I forgot to
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: say this on the pod so much GBR in the
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: airport and I yelled at every single one of them,
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: yeah let's go. That does juice me. I would just
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: tell them, hey, GBR, and every single time go big
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: red hey gbr right back.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but again all to say that the connection time
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: with your wife to where it's it's husband and wife, Yes,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: mom and dad, the friends who fell.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: In love dating each other.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: To me, that's the biggest stressor especially during football season,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: with both of us being working people, her running her stuff,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: she feels thin. Again, you just get caught up. I
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: feel like I work. I feel like i'm dad. I
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: feel like I work.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: I feel like i'm mom.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: A lot of times it's just somebody, for the love
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: of God, take the kids, like just me and my
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: wife go and that's all it takes. Because then you
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: feel like the batteries charged. When you get home, you're
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: ready to accomplish. I feel like the world, bro. Yeah,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: because you can't have that. You can't have a week away.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: If this was me and you want on one, I'll
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: just say it on the pot. But this is me
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: and you, just one on one. Because I've this has
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: been a learning curve for me, especially when you're younger
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: and things are new, you have your first kid, you're
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: married for the first time. You're picking up a lot
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: more kind of like partnership responsibilities. That dudes a lot
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: of the time are dumbest shit and we're not aware
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: of until you got to like learn the hard way
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Yes, learn from mistakes. It's like my yeah, bread and butter.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: But being so locked in on that, I know it
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: was a big game, but you gotta Yeah, it's like
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: having the rolodecks of right when you see him, you're
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: embracing the girls, and you just tell her out of
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: the gate if that's the important thing. Sweetheart, God, you look,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: you look so you look so damn pretty. Scarlet, she's
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: gotten huge. You know, I'm a sicko for the sick
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: of bears.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: This game. We've come back from like what was it,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: fourteen point deficit?
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Yeah, seventeen seventeen point deficit all I've I've been. It
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: pains me that I've had to sit behind the phone
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: hear you. You know some problems that you might have
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: with Scarlet, and you feel as a dad. You're sitting
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: there eating wings and pizza kind of like, Damn, I
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: feel shitty because life's nice for me right now, but
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: you're carrying the dad guilt of like I kind of
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: needed I feel like I needed being it with her.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: So there's this weird there's this weird conversation going on
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: in your head, but you almost you're out front with it,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: you're anchoring it. God, you look so amazing, Scarlet, She's grown.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I truly all I've wanted to do for the last
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: four days. This three I kind of had a little fun.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I won't lie, but for the last four days, I
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: want nothing to know what's went on in your entire life.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: The minute this game ends, I'm all ears. And if
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: you tell me, look, it's like when we had the
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: conversation a couple of weeks ago. If you tell me
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: to shut my fat ass up, it's gone. It's gone.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I'll put this game down, but I just want to
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: with that out there. I would love to finish this game.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: And you got nothing but my time after that, and
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: I saw again, let me triple down on this part.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: If you tell me the shuram shut up, I'm so
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: excited to see you. And I gotta tell you about
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: this weekend. If the phone's going, I don't care. I'll
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: figure it out. I'll figure it out on Sports Center later.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: That would have been like, if I'm in you're your
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: coaching No, no, no, don't do that.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Don't do that. Stop no, no, stop doing stop doing that,
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: stop doing that. Phone down, phone down, no, no, no,
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: the donuts on the belt. The luggage is here, Go
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: get the luggage. Yeah yeah, yeah, oh yeah dude. And uh,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: I will save this for like anybody listening to the
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: podcast because I didn't like fully finish the tick story.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: We like, we called our pediatrician, we called Vanderbilt, We
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: got a diagnosis, and we followed the diagnosis. We have
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: antibiotics for scarlet, all that stuff. I didn't just want
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: to leave that open ended of like, Yo, Surrem's kid
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: got bit by tick and you didn't do anything.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: About it, Like, yeah, you weren't the only one who
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: had a tick on her. Really had a little outing
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: at uh Tailgate Brewery.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: The parents kind of had like they called it the
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Tailgate parents had like a little tailgate where everybody kind
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: of hangs out for Rue school and uh so we
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: were out there, they're playing.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Out in the woods and stuff. We had a tick,
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: but it was like it was like drowning in the water.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: So it was like it wasn't on or very tight.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: It was like it was like in the bathtub.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what happened with Scarlett. It was very light,
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: got the tweezers and just you pull up towards the
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: head and it makes right because it's.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Like the head can be dug in there to where
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: they're latched on. You're like pulling it off and thank god.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: It was like yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: And it was a red tick too, it was a
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: deer tick. So which is better? That's better? Okay, But
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: I have no clue. No, I didn't either until I
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: talked to the nurse. Yeah, we are not professionals. No,
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: we are not professionals. Thank you for coaching me.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: But it is more just like you're telling that story
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: and I'm thinking to myself, how do I just sit
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: in this thing? We're sure them and more so, just
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: check how it all ended up and how you're doing currently.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm doing well currently. To answer that you asked
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: that earlier, I'm doing well. It's it's something that like.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Very much.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I need to process with Jill very much. I just
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: need to be able to process with myself. And I
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: do see a therapist week bi weekly. So does bi
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: weekly mean every two weeks? Bi weekly? Yeah? Or is
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: that twice a week? If it's by week, I feel
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: like that's twice a week monthly? Baby, is that what
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: you're looking at?
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Bi weekly?
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Okay, leave it in the could be both and leave
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: it leave it in the comments. What is that? Right there?
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Is how you know we're not experts. I mount my
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: wife by weekly because you're saying that, I'm thinking in
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: my head, am I?
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Because there's there's also like not I don't hate the friends,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: but when you're like, you're unloading some of your personal
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: stuff going on, and I've never been a fan of
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: people that you should do this, you should do that,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: they're kind of instead of like listening and kind of
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: sitting in it with you a little bit and more
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: like waiting for do you want Are you seeking any
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: type of advice right now? Like people who give like
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: unsolicited advice, Like when you're saying, oh, you shouldn't do that,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: you got to do this, it's kind of like, buddy,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: you're not listening to me.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: I'm not need you to tell me what to do
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: right now. Yeah, And you bring up a great point
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: something that I try to keep in the back of
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: my head because I had a boss that also brought
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: this point up, but always lead with the question there
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: you go, Yeah.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: We kind of stopped there at the bottom part of
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: the story, and I'm sitting here in my head, is.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Is he wanting something to me back?
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: I kind of just want to know how did it
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: end up? How are you doing now?
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: That was.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Like, it's always where we are. Are you currently in
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: doghouse on podra?
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Yes, that first. Do you need to call Jill on
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: the sude? Yeah? Lord, but uh yeah, thanks for talking
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: that one out. I love you, bro, I love you.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: It's like I shot you the message last time. I
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: miss you. I can't wait to do for the dads. Yeah,
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: And I shot it back. I said, miss you BB
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: too much? BB? Yeah?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Can we do this at Can we shoot the pot
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: at two pm? I was like, I really need to
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: get it done at twelve? Was at twelve fifteen because
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I had a two o'clock that, you know, I had
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: to punt the two o'clock.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't see that one was on that
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: phone call. Probably when you texted me you had a
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: lot going on, a lot going on. But because when
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: you hit me with the hair, are you good to
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: record it too? Like when we were at the shop
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: the next day, I said, I texted you back did
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: you not look at the phone? Are you having a seizure?
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: And I didn't want to end that moment be like yeah,
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: I'm going through a lot because like, yeah, I can
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: check my text. I need to do a better job
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: at that. Yeah, thank you for sharing too, bro, Yeah
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: for sure. Good for Papa Team six. Listen. We're not
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: all nobody out there's perfectly thank you for listening. Thank
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: you for listening, and thank you for being there and
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: thank you for the listeners. Have kind of created a
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: space to where I do feel challenged to be like
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: I got I gotta share that on the pod. Yeah,
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: it's like I'm just a fake phony that's like, hey,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: like and subscribe my podcast. We have fun here. Yeah,
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Fortunately Jill didn't pull that one out on you. Oh
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: what do you mean what Charlee did with the Willie
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: one shelf? Like, oh you got this odd on the
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: brace of the trenches and the phony meter was at
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: an all time high. Can I if I would have
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: had a moment, if I'm which those moments is I'm
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: not gonna say I'll never have those moments or I
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: have never had those moments? She if she would have
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: hit me with that mid crash out. I don't know,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: And for all them probably be in a hotel or something.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Oh for sure, For all the Milk Team sixers listening,
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: I do want to take a moment to look at
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: the camera and say, Jilly B and I love you
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: and I'm very sorry, and uh, no one in the
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: entire world is deserving that, especially you like that. That
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: just stinks. I did that. Yeah, stink.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I also want to say to Milk Team sixers out
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: there and wives tuning in, if you're watching with your
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: pop a Team six member, I do want to equip
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: you by throwing this brain in their face. If they're
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: having some off moments, it will piss for the pop
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: PT sixers out there, it will piss you off. But no,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: it's coming from a place of accountability. Oh yeah, would
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you go on PT six and be acting like that,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: tell that story?
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: That's shot the community though, for shut commun creating a
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: space safe enough for you to share, yeah, because the
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: boys are going to rally around you.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Yeah, the moms. It might even help the moms tell
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: a story. Maybe and hopefully some some people in the
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: comments are like, that's hey, that's not the fat Stafford
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: I know for sure that's not the standard. Everybody knows.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: Everybody knows it's not the standard. Check yourself. Sure, I'm
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: glad you're checking yourself, but check yourself again. Yeah, and
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I love that. Learn from it, Learn from it. PT sixers,
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to another ad here on the show
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: for the dads. Yes it is fat staff for doing.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: That's this week in Willie one Chelf's desk, we're talking
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: true classic. And before we talk true classic, we're talking
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: true classic. When there is a date night with my wife,
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Jilly being and I and she will vouch this is
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: a true story. She usually likes me in a T
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: shirt that doesn't have any branding on it, something that
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: looks casual but nice, something that I feel comfortable in.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: And every single time we're going out for a date night,
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: she says, hey, Sherman, throw on one of those shirts
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: that you get at Bustin', the ones that fit you
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: really nice. I always have to reminder those are my
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: true classic shirts. I'll go throw on a true classic.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: My wife's a big fan of them. I feel like
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: everybody in the office is a big fan of the
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: true Classics. When we see each other wearing them, We're
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: going chef, Are you hitting the bench? What's going on?
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: You look massive? He's like, no, it's just my True
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Classic shirt. Even Derek back there. If you want to
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: look even spiffier on date night and throw on a polo,
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Derek's rocking one of the polos right now, Derek, give
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: him a little will Compton too good, Too good, and
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: you can look that good too. And here's the cool part.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: True Classic just launched a boys line for the boy
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: dad's out there. You can match, and honestly, it's way
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: better than those awkward family photo outfits or even cheesy pajamas.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: You can match with your son. You get to show
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: up together, feel comfortable, and actually look good doing it.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: The crazy thing is True Classic has already sold over
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: two or twenty five million shirts to more than five
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: million customers with over two hundred thousand five star reviews
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: online shoppers. No. Two hundred and fifty two hundred and
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: fifty k five star reviews is a lot of five
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: star reviews. So I'm definitely not the only dad who
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: has figured this out. I'm just lucky enough to be
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: one of the dads I've figured it out. You can
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: find them at Amazon, Target, Select Costco and Sam's Club locations,
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: or you can head to True Classic dot Com forward
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Slash for the dads. That's true Classic dot Com forward
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: slash for the dads. Trust me, grab one and you
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: will thank me later. You will legitimately thank me later.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: These are great fitting shirts. I wear them all the time.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: We're even getting into colder weather. I'm rocking a true
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: classic hoodie right now. Go check it out. Guys, back
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: to the episode. That's the biggest thing. Learn from it.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: No that you know it's it's bound to happen again. Hope,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: hopefully you catch yourself in those moments. Yeah, but this
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: is only a waste of time if you don't learn
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: from it.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: I don't know you do. I brought up the tailgate
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: and the tick thing. Oh yeah, yeah, there was an
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: older boy who bullied hold On and I saw hold On. Yeah.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Rue was part of the crew that he bullied, and
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: I'll you know, the boy's lucky that I didn't see
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: the part on Rue. I saw the part where he
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: took the glasses off of like Rue's best friend. He
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: was like going around and kind of like grabbing and shaking.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: There's like three of them shakes. Each one of them
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: runs around. I just hear hey, stop, and I kind
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: of like, I kind of like look down the hill.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: He runs over. Did I say the the girl's name?
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: No?
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: You did not, Okay, If I did, make sure to
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: bleep that out, yeah, and.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Then goes back to the girl Roue's friend and I
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: once I hear hey stop and I kind of look back,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: and the boy runs by again and like grabs her.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: Glasses and she's like stop, and Ru's just kind of
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: like standing there all shy.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Kid ends up say stop and I was like hey,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: And the kid ends up like running up the hill.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: I think he sells a glass. I'm like, hey, buddy,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: he didn't have the glass. He keeps running.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: Uh. The kids start crying a little bit, so I
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: go over to them. You know, the parents were all over.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: We're like calming him down and everything else. What happened?
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Blah blah blah, and dude, I'm just boiling as like
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: did that shit just happen?
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: I'm thinking this is why we're going to do Brazilian
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: jiu jitsu there.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: There's nothing that breaks your heart more than seeing bowling
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: happened with the little kids, because you know, they're just kids.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: And this kid was old enough to know what he
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: was doing. And at the kid, the boy at his
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: age was old enough to know what he was doing.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Were we talking like seven or eight?
- 1:22:13Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Oh wow, I think so.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he was old, he was taller, Yeah, he was older.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: And Ruth started like the other two kids they're crying.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Rue's not crying yet, And I'm walking over and I
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: look at Rue and I'm just like I just kind
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: of like shake my head no, like don't you know, hey,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: it's okay, you don't.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: Need to start crying because the others are crying. I
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: kind of like shake my head no, and you okay.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: And as I do that, and she starts like, you know,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: wincing up, and she starts crying, and so I pick
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: her up and everything. I didn't at that moment, I
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: didn't know that he had shaken our bullied Roue. So
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I was kind of pissed for the other kid, the
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: one that I saw the glasses come off of. And
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I'm quiet, I'm low key trying to figure out who
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: the kid, Like, where the kid is he like runs up,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: he's like playing somewhere else, or like see who the
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: parents might be not to go say nothing. There's just
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: a there's a multitude of conversations going on in my head,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: like what would I have done had that been rude?
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: That I saw him do that too?
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Because you know, not that I would have done anything,
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: but you're also thinking like I don't know what I
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: would do because I started to like go towards the
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: kid as he's running away, when I was like, hey, buddy,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: because I thought he still had the glasses, why don't
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: you give her glasses back to her? Or like I again,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I don't know. There's too many things that go on
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: on my head. Yeah, that fires you up as a parent.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: In the moment, we end up believing because there's like
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: a melt down and everything else. We've been here a while, like,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: let's get the kids home, Scottie, she's she's in her Uh,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: we can't like let her out because.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: She's in like her she's in her shroller and there's
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: like gravel and everything else that we're kind of on.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: We go home and we get a text that it
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: happened again with the kid, and then something kind of
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: goes down with the kid and the parent.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: It got awkward and weird and they kind of leave,
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: but maybe the.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Kids going, maybe the kids projecting, who knows, who knows,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: But anyway, a bully I got. I witnessed a bully
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: moment that it was kind of part of and I
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: did not know. It kind of had me not not
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: worked up, but it had me thinking about it like
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: the rest of the evening.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Those are truly like the two things that I think,
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: like guys almost fantasize about is either like a home
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: intruder and what they would do, or if somebody was
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: bullying their kid. Yeah, I'd love to see somebody coming
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: to my house.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I love If the kids mean to you,
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: that doesn't give you permission to be mean back to him.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: And it's where my line of thinking is, like I'll
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: go with that for now, but everything's a little circumstantial.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I'm like once Brazilian jiu jitsu and once we're in
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: the a guy, Yeah, we don't know what's going to happen.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Right, Like, Yeah, if the kids mean to you, doesn't
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: give you the right to be mean back. But we
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: got to figure out a way to where you're not
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: going to allow somebody to be mean to you. Yeah,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: And I don't know what that is again, I'm very new.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: I'm learning at this stuff. It's like it's one of
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: those things where I'm very slow to speak because I
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: don't have my thoughts in order and how I feel
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: about it, or what should actually be done or how
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: I should be teaching through those things, because I didn't
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: really tell Rue a whole lot, just making sure she's
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: like okay and everything else. But I'm sitting there like
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: trying to figure out yet, like what if this does happen?
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: What if I'm not there?
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: What if this? What if that?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: How do I need to be coaching or teaching this
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: or give her confidence to you know, be a certain way.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: But yeah, witnessed the first bully.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: That gets me rawed up, that gets me rawed up.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: And fantasies of just sideline tackle drill on this kid,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: oh oh, just a great angle gronk run across the
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: border of the the woods that they were playing in.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: Just boa this really envisioned you chasing down gronk to
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: the sideline, beating him to the sideline.
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like not even know what to say.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I'm over here like pinching my my fingers and stuff
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: and moving my hands around because I'm like I know
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: this is a murky waters to be to be speaking on, but.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Who is the father? Hey, listen to my podcast. I
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: can promise you that, Oh this your boy. I just
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: mocked on the sideline. Wait, I'm say something. I become
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: the bully. Just an awful example for the kids. I'm
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: gonna have a little dutey through it too. Oh good deal.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Daddy wants to come say something. Meet me in the
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: ring circle around children, turn on the headlights, pull the
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: car up. It's how you want to dial man. Oh
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: my god. The dad just has no idea, like what
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: had happened. He's just one of those like Patagonia best
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: with like a coffee, just chilled, dude.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, what's going on? Well, Susie finds out his
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: son as being a little ship head. He's like the
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: poor kid.
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: You almost you're almost like, hey, you know, praying to
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: God the kid's gonna be alive. I don't know if
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: you guys ever seen that, Like you had a buddy
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: who rightfully so the parent's mad and they're going home
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: and you're like shit.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Like a lot of times too, it's like again with
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: being a young boy, like with the kid, they're kids
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: and if I'm the the parent were rused to bully,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: I would want to be told because I would be
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: pissed at Rue.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Will is definitely one of the dads that, like, if
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: I was, you know, like a friend of Ru's and
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: I'm like hanging out with them and stuff, like, I
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: would be on extra good behavior because Will is the
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: dad that's there, like I playing Little League or like
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: being around other dads. At that age, there were certain
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: dads that you're like, oh, just scared of that, just
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: give off that vibe of like, do not set off
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: mister blah blah blah, not because they were A psycholist said,
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna be a fun you are, but there will
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: be respect. There will be dude. I'm just telling you, like,
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: guys are gonna when they start coming to the age
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: and like just knowing you and knowing your personality type,
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: knowing maybe you played in the NFL for a little bit,
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: they're gonna be.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Like, don't.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Don't mess around with willye c Yeah, that's a good thing.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I feel like that's the that's my mom and me too.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: My mom she didn't play no ship, dude. She didn't
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: play no ship. If we were acting up in school,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: we were known as like hyper kids. Uh, Cannon will
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: Over is a little too hyper. But uh, my mom
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: did not mess around. She wanted she wanted real feedback
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: for how her boys are being because if we were
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: messing around in class, if we weren't up you know,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: progress reports, if we weren't dialed in, like she wanted
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: to know, not to blame it on anybody else other
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: than the Tanner ass at home and not necessarily come
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: from my mom.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: That'd be the old man, but it'd be a verbal lash,
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: ye know. Yeah, because she didn't mess around, that's good.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: That's a good thing. Yeah, that's a good thing.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: Because part of me sitting there and I'm like, stuff,
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: kid's fault. It's not the parent's fault. Maybe I could
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: be the parent's fault because the kids like whatever he's doing.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: But I'm sure the parents would be upset the fact
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: their kid is it was doing X, Y and Z.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: So don't get mad at the parents. Like, again, there's
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: so many things going on in your head that was
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: going on.
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: In my head.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you can only control what you can control. I
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: feel like you handled that situation very nicely. I mean
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: we just left.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he was more just talking with Charro, like, oh,
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: you want her to be nice to people, would be
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: mean to her, I'd handle a little bit differently, sweetart.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: You know, we're kind of just like laughing and joking
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: back and forth like this why I want to get
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: her into wrestling. That's why I want to get her
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: into Brazilian jiu JITs because see your friend get picked on.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: We need her to handle that, and she will. She
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: will be Yeah, scott Zilla, I could go scott Zilla,
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: scott Zilla, scott Zilla. You're gonna have to be careful.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: She's a menace. Bro a dad loss that I had
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: is I have on her dad loss. Can't stop scott
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Zilla from getting to the water bowl.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: She's doing it again. She yeah, yes, what are you
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: gonna do what? She's able to walk. I mean it's
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: gonna be a problem.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Yeah, she will start getting some more wherewithal of like
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: not getting in the water bowl. But I was taking
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: a Tuesday the other day and I'm doing it with
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: the door open because just me and the kiddos. I
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: hear the water bowl goes sideways in the pantry and I'm.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Like, God, damn wiping fast. Scottie. She's just in there.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: And she knows it too, Like part of me is
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: like she knows what she's doing, because once she's halfway
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: there and I'm like, Scotty, don't you do and she
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: like looks back at me with like a little with
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: like a little smirk and then don't you do it?
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: And she starts kind of going and then I start
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: like running to the pantry. She hits that she goes,
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: she hits that speed that's on the video to get there, Like, yeah,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: she hits that second gear.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: She's eighty eight out the gate. If I don't make
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: that plane starts digging that left toe.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: And it's you know, when your like your house settles,
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: you got to kind of like lift the door up
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: for it to like latch or whatever. It's one of
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: those where you shut the door, but she'll go and
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: press on the door to where it'll open back up.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: So I got to make sure it's like up and
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: latched and that she's she's in there. Bro, Scott's villa
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: is a minute. She's a minute. I cannot wait. She
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: can't be contained, Bro, I want to hang out with
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: scott Zilla so bad. Yeah, she's a beast. I want
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: to see the lore in the legend in person.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, she wants to be on the ground. She needs space,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: she needs She's trying to climb on everything. She's just
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: a happy little baby bro very few things. She's like unbothered.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: I can't wait to see her personality develop because I
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: love how Rue when like you were in that little
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: pillow for it that you built with there and you're oh,
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: the the you know, monsters are outside of it, blah
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: blah blah, we gotta hide. Scott Zilla's gonna be like, wait,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: can we not go out there and go kill him? Yeah?
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like what Scotty's Scotty is the type. She's
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: the type that when Rue is upset or crying, Scotty laughs.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Start like just randomly clapping. She's gonna be a menace
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: in a good way. Yeah, in a great way. I
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: got a highlight tape loading.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I don't think it's gonna be anytime soon, just yet.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: I need to capture a few more scenes. But her
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: just eating.
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: Oh, she's being a menace on the table dad. Oh
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: she eats like her dad. Anything you put in front
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: of her, gone, Yeah.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: She's quick, she's good man, she's just stud Oh my god.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: But she's gonna be a lot of fun. But she's
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: she's very unbothered and it's awesome.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: She's as I love it. And since we're coming up
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: on an hour, I thought that I would kick it
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: to coming out. We got to keep it under I know,
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying. We're kind of coming up to
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: an hour, so I was going to move it to
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: what are the odds? Hit the what are the odds?
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: And we can hit our couple dad hacks.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: We can get it into calls, get in the call ins,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: and probably be out under an hour lesson a lot.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: Of time for to keep that under an hour.
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we can do that. We're twenty five minutes,
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Hey, this has been fun today. I want to say
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: again thank you for sharing all that stuff earlier.
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, well and this has been fun today because
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: like it, it feels good to be able to have
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: a place where I could talk about that coincides with
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: like a podcast that I'm on. I'm pretty fortunate and
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: lucky to be able to do that. Let's go, so
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: thank you guys.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: Before we get into the water of the odds, I
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: want to shout out Campden Stevens, who left to comment
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: on Instagram.
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: Will assure them Chef Derek.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: What a pod, boys, I myself am a twenty year
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: old guy from the great state of Iowa. Twenty years
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: this is gooom Beret we're talking about Fuck the Hulk, guys.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Will I always state and am a member of the
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: goon Berets there. We are just recently got engaged to
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: my fiance, so no, not quite pop a team six yet.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: But I gotta tell you, guys, I love this pod.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: My biggest dream is to be a father, and listening
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: to your pod is so encouraging. You guys give me
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: the stepping stones and puzzle pieces to be a great
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: father just like yourselves. It's so inspiring to hear how
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: you guys carry yourselves. It's not only fathers, but husbands
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: as well. Kenden Stevens might be deleting the comment after
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: the dad loss from Uncle Shrham. I appreciate this podcast
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: more than you guys know. The complete shot off the
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: shot in the darkness. This DM gets read and that's okay.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: Just want you to know my support to you guys.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: Keep it up good. I'll tell you this Camden. Somebody
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: who's taken puzzle what you say stepping stones and puzzle
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: pieces to be a great father just like yourselves. You
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: thinking that way at twenty years old, I will say you.
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: Are ahead of the curve, way ahead of the curve.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: And if anything else, stepping stones, puzzle pieces. Learn from us, yes,
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: learn from our losses.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: Yes, please please. And before I now jump into what
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: are the odds, you reminded me of a comment that
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure I read. This comes from
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: MUTSA eight. Shout out Aaron. She was our caller last
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: week that called in about being close with her dad.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: But shout out Aaron as someone with no kids. But
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: I've always said if I did, I'd want to be
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: a girl dad. To hear your appreciation for your dad
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: is the exact reason I want to be a girl dad.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: Damn it. Two weeks in a row, you got the
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: boys eyes watering. Love to you, Aaron, and love to
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: you guys. I just love that he was shouting out
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: one of our call ins and it was a great calling.
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: People love that call in, Bro, that callin was so good.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: I do want to say we received an update from her.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: We've been texting with her. She's gonna send us a
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: reaction video of her father when the shirt comes in,
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: and of him watching the episode because he watches with her.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: So she's been saving that segment of the show to
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: record and send in. So hopefully we get that video
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: of reaction of the father seeing the story be told
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: in real time.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Dude, that's cool, Dar, it's over there, just operating, operating.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: I was gonna say demon, but we already got a demon.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: It'll come, Yeah, it'll come. They call him Deek, they
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: call him Deep, they call him deep, or he calls
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: him Deeke. No, they earned it by starting varsity as
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: a freshman in high school. That's on the ice soccer soccer.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: I don't know how that correlates to Deeke, but it's there.
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: Okay, we'll see. Maybe the comments might have a good
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: nickname for you. I'm very scared of that. Maybe maybe
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: we left Papa Team six take a crack a. Derek
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: would love that. That would be fun. That'd be fun.
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: And one really quick, last one Steven, who has been
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: in our comments a lot lately. He was one of
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: our very first call ins. We had a mishap with
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: the shipping we had to reship. He was in our
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: stream the other night he was the one saying, Hey, guys,
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: have y'all sent my stuff out? Got confirmation? This morning
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: Stephen has his merch Way to Go, Steven, Way to go, Steven.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: Let's go. Okay, what are the odds? This week's what
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: are the odds? Shout out FanDuel comes from Twitter and
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: it comes from Mike green Walsh. Mike Greenwalsh on Twitter.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: Still catching up on the pod. Just heard your hardball story,
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: Here's mine twenty thirteen. I'm coaching a high school baseball
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: team by alma mater. Haven't been to state since the sixties.
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: I know we've got the dudes to get there, but
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: we need that extra push. We've got a road trip
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: for a double dip in the Nebraska Sticks and we
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: need to win both of them. Two hour trip. On
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: the way up, I throw on Hardball, one of my
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: all time favorite movies and the namesake of all my
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: fantasy sports teams. Needless to say, the kids roll off
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: the bus, fired up, the team champ for the rest
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: of the season becomes for g baby. We go to
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: state for the first time in fifty years. Powerful stuff.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: I freaking love that, dude. That is cool. That's sick.
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: What are the odds that this state champion baseball team
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: hadn't been there for sixty years, had.
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: Been there for sixty years, goes and gets it done
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: and a very small part of that trip. Jim Sherman
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: Young's no.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: He was saying, this happened in twenty thirteen. I thought
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: it just happened. And he's playing you breaking down Hardball.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: I'm the man I got those kids to State. I
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: did not get those kids to State, but the movie
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: hard But he was just saying, hey, I get what
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: you mean, tearing up powerful movie. It got my kids
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: to State. Okay, it's only yeah, yeah, what are the
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: odds that like a movie could inspire a team? You
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: know how the brain sputters? You know how my brain spot?
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: I said it on Busting. You know, it's like sometimes
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: my braining. It's like a lawnmower with last year's gas
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: in it. It's a second to get going in the
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: new season. You gotta rip it a few on, you
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: gotta keep I thought I hit it three times, Let
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: me hit it a few.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: Now you're flooding it right, Yeah, now you're gotch We
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: got it, We got it. Yeah, turn the choke off.
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: But yeah, that was our Uh what are the odds?
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Who we want to go? You did your survival kit
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: correct or your dad? My survival kit is bent Go
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: lunch boxes. Great lunch box to have in the fridge.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: It's got you'll open it up if you go to
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: bentgo dot com. And again no free shoutouts, and it's
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: not a sponsor the show. We love for them to
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: be a sponsor to the show. B E N T
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: g O bent Go Lunchboxes. But you got this.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Little You open up the box and it's got its
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: little it's got its plate where it's divided up. Right
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: underneath it is this layer that you can have in
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: the freezer. So then you can put the layer underneath
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: and it keeps lunch box fresh cold, ready to go.
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: So what we use for ru this is sick. They're good.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: They are good. They have a variety too. It's not
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: just like the refrigerated like it's got the little layer underneath.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: They got a variety of lunch boxes, very good, very
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: high quality lunchboxes.
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: Again, no free shout outs. Would love for bent Go
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: to be a sponsor of the show. I'm sure chef
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: will probably pull up an image, but there's an image
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: of the bent go Yeah.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Can I tell you what Packing the lunch is hard? Bro,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: It's not hard, It's just I feel like options are
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: kind of limited, especially if you don't have or the
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: layer where it keeps it fresh keeps it cold. So like,
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: for example, I pack I pack arose the lunch like
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: I'll make breakfast, kind of packer lunch. The go to
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: is a PB and J slice it up so it
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: can kind of fit in there. You can fit it
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: nice and nice and kneat towards like you know, little
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: bars of peanut butter, jolly s languiches bars and then cucumbers.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: Oh okay, the uncred pepperonis, little pepperoni slices. She loves
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: pepper she loves pepper Pepperoni, Pepperonis, she loves Pepperoni's.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: Drop a pepperoni down in the comments. Yeah, drop pepperoni
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: down in the comments. Uh. And then what maybe some
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: like jedderfish or an apple sauce.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: Hmmm, they'll have to kind of open up for and
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: then kind of barely click it so that way she's
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: strong enough to get it open.
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: I like containers like that because it does One issue
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: I have with myself eating wise is just portion control.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: And I feel like lunchboxes like that do a really
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: good job. Yes, like this is an adequate amount of
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: food for my child. I have filled it.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: Weird good Yeah, yeah, but that's my that's my that's
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: my supervo kit and my dad hack stuff.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: I kind of talked about it earlier.
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: I have my dad hacks talking colors and bad guys
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: with my daughter about football, Like, who's the bad guy here?
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: Aprons the bad guy.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: I Wiwa state. I was the bad guy that has
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: got some money on him to cover, but we just
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: need him to lose by two or three.
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: You're in. By the way, Rue, you're not allowed to
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: go to Iowa. They reached Yah and said that they
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: don't like you personally. Yeah, bad people go to that school.
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: He said, Rue Compedy can't come here because of her
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: dad dies and we hate his dad, so I guess
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: you gotta hate him. Yeah, you know how you're scared of?
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: TAFFEEDI the mean version at first, before she gets the
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: heart back and yeah, it's a good person again.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: Taffeedi went to Iowa. The Mask went to Iowa. Far
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: went to Iowa. The Grinch went to Iowa. No the
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: bad guys go to Iowa. Oh no, she's gonna that's
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: also went to Nebraska, and so did her sister Anna. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: you know who didn't. Now, who's the prince in the
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: first movie? Oh, I forget his name, but he went
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: to Iowa. Yeah, that's a huge hawky. He was a
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: pun for And I knew right out of the gate
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: in that movie when he started to go and started
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: Hans Hans is a hans Hans.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: When I saw Hans, I was like, that's a hawkey.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: That's a hawkey. We don't marry hawkeys.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: We don't go to Iowa.
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: Starting yes, started me on that. Hey, I like to
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: talk to that because that is legitimately what I'm going
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: to start using.
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Just anything that you don't wander to, like I have
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: joked about, like calling like taking a two ski, different stuff.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: There's a guy in a fancy football league that we
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: have this like fake rivalry for years, and we were
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: texting before the season. I told him I was going
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: to tell my daughter that taking a ship was called
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: taking a Gorby, which is his nickname. I thought that'd
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: be a fun little hit. Yeah, you're gonna drop a Gorby.
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: Do you make a little uh oh, my survival kid
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: is a snot sucker. Those are so huge, dude, And
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: Jill is a machine with that thing because I think
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: they think, oh, yeah, well she has the ball one
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: and dude, I wish you could watch Jill Young operate
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: with the little ball one where you like squeeze it
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: and she plugs the other nostril and she gets in there.
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: I guess they do it at the hospital. So she's like,
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: it's crazy watching her get that snot up. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: it's it's you feel like you're torturing them.
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: You do, you do.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: But to any new parents, like when you are hearing
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: your baby cry and they sound like a pig and
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: they kind of got the like in between cries, that
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: is a tailtale sign that hey, maybe they're having a
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: little you know, trouble. When they're on their passy, they're
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: trying to breathe through their nose. There's snot up there
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: and there's some discomfort and so they're letting you know,
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: I can't breathe through my freaking nose right now? What's
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: going on? And Jill will go in and clean out
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: the schnas and it's money every time scars are so happy.
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: I'm manual. To me, got the one where I get
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: to take control well, and that one's a big one.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: Like I feel like majority of people have the you know,
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: the actual snot sucker. Yeah, so get whichever one you want.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: But it is great thing to have. Great thing.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: Don't just use the bulb. It's not to me, it's
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: not good enough. Not the bulb on the snots sucker.
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: But if you just got a bulb that you're trying
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: to put in their nostril, yes, to me, it's just
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: like we haven't had we never had great luck with those.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: And I feel like they're not doing it. It's it's
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: not long enough, it's not doing enough damage. Yes, And
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: when I'm doing it, I can't get anything out. But
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: when Jill's doing it and she's hitting the angles, she
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: like gets it first try almost every time.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: It's kind of nice for you too, because you just
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: my wife. He's gonna do it. Yeah, so you don't
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: have to be the one. And she's really crying. Yeah,
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: what's MoMA doing?
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Yeah what is she doing? Oh my gosh, Yeah, don't worry,
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: I'll pick you up. You know who doesn't do that? Yeah,
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: ain't not that and then Dad Hack, is Duna stroller bag.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: If you are flying and you want to bring your
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: Duna base with you, the douna car seat, you can
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: put the Duna bass and the stroller in this Duna bag.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: But let's say you're, hey, shrim I actually like flying
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: with my Duna because it's a stroller. I keep the
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: kiddo in the stroller and I bring the stroller onto
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: the plane.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: Great.
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: Just put your Duna base into the Duna bag and
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: pack it up with any of your shirts, pants, all
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: of your luggage that you're going to be packing. It's
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: a cheat code, dude. It's like an extra suitcase that's
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: like a total utility piece in your set where if
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: you're using it for the Duna base and the Duna stroller,
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: it's great for that. If you're keeping the stroller out
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: on the flight, you can squeeze some other stuff in
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: there too. Great, Dad Hack, com I sure you don't
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: get too far away from that mic. Look at you,
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Look at me, play myself again? Was I? Hey? Was
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: I on the mic when I was talking? Though? I
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: believe so.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: I caught it When you did this whole you were
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: leaned back and then coming in and I was like,
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: hopefully he hasn't.
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: I hadn't seen it before that, but I kind of
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: I don't know, I gotta quit doing that.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: Yeah, at least just have it set up to where
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: it's like, what is it called perpendicular?
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: Yeah, perpendicular parallel or what we could do. We could
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: get a boom mic just right here for when I Yeah,
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: but what I'm saying is like right now, right now,
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: you're like a forty five degree angle. Oh so you're
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: meaning like this, swing it around there, you go, look
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: at that? Is that good? Yeah? Am I podcasting now?
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: I think so? Because Chefa he doesn't have the ears on,
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: so I don't know if he knows.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: No, I mean, we pick it up a lot.
- 1:47:50Speaker 5: It was more from the episode two episodes ago when
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: you were doing your story. It was you guys, you
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: were just leaning back a lot and so you're back
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: here and talking to but you're just talking to Will.
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: You're not even thinking about the mic.
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: So yeah, it was just we got some comments on it,
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: and honestly, like post production, I probably could have fixed
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: it too, but I just didn't really for all the
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: people that say we don't have it loud enough that's
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: on me. I'm trying to figure out how to do
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: without technical stuff like a overstretching the mics. But uh,
- 1:48:20Speaker 5: I have headphones on when I hit the episodes, and
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: I kind of have to remind myself not to have
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: my volume loud because I'm a chronic like high volume
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: listener to everything.
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: So we're working on it. But yeah, we're getting better.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: That seeming team say, that's as team's six as captain
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: right there. I couldn't love them more. Him just taking
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: accountability when he didn't have to and I didn't have
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: to it all. But hey, he's he's a man of
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: the people. Wants to hear from him not to hit
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: record with the recording bing right here. It was the
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: first person to raise her, didn't say it was his fault. Yeah,
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: this guy, Chef, you're the man. Yeah, man, thank you,
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: And Derek, you are too. He is the man. You're
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: the man too. Shirm Will con okay, will constance the man. Okay,
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: all right, fine, ship, let's get to our call in.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: Call in Hotline six on one the dads. You want
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: to be featured on the show. You call into the
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: hotline six on one the dads you can share a

- 1:51:31Speaker 6: her dad had an old recliner and we're thrown away
- 1:51:34Speaker 6: a bunch of stuff about a year ago, and I
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: snagged it. I stripped that material down and I made
- 1:51:41Speaker 6: a bear for our daughter, Amelia, and I gave it
- 1:51:46Speaker 6: to her a couple of nights ago. And she's so excited,

- 1:56:06Speaker 1: God damn dear, we got these voicemails are pretty good,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: that one right there. Anything that involves where you just
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: know when he said my wife lost her dad at eleven,
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: it's like, and then we had last week where they
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: ruptured and had a miscarriage.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: And people lose.
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: You lose people you love the most, and you hope
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: it doesn't happen until old age, and it still fucking
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: hurts even when that happens.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I just do it. It It wrecks me. What

- 1:57:20Speaker 2: we got to talk about it. And I already know
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: anytime I bring up Mom, anytime I.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: Bring up Mom, it's always those. So you get the
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: nostrils and the eyes with water and and everything.
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you need an ISO cam just for the episode
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: of Will talking and just have a little shream cam

- 1:58:15Speaker 8: Not because of my alarm not going off because I
- 1:58:17Speaker 8: forgot to set an.
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: Alarm and off because I was up late. It's because
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: my four year old son decided to come into my
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: room this morning and take my phone and turn off
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: my alarm.
- 1:58:26Speaker 8: And when I needed to wake up late, he said, Daddy,
- 1:58:30Speaker 8: it was too loud, so I had to shut it off.
- 1:58:32Speaker 6: I put him on plate for work.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: Good Saturday mornings gone boys.

- 2:00:02Speaker 9: you know, need to get over My crying.
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: Wife went to work.
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: She works at a part time job in retail.
- 2:00:10Speaker 7: Sometimes just to you know, get some extra money and
- 2:00:12Speaker 7: all that.
- 2:00:13Speaker 9: Well, both girls came down with the stomach bugs, and
- 2:00:16Speaker 9: his mom left and was in about two two and.
- 2:00:19Speaker 7: A half hours each o girl and pooped themselves seven
- 2:00:28Speaker 7: to eight times between them. The culmination of that ended
- 2:00:32Speaker 7: with our youngest who's about one and a half, who
- 2:00:35Speaker 7: hate diapers, somehow got her pants off, got her diaper off,
- 2:00:41Speaker 7: sat on her rocking horse, and then proceeded to poop.
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: All over the rocking horse. Yeah, it was a disaster,
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: but guess what.
- 2:00:55Speaker 7: We came out on the other side.
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: We're all good. Girls are great.
- 2:01:00Speaker 9: And I love them more than ever that crazy story.
- 2:01:04Speaker 9: Thanks for all you guys do for everybody, and have
- 2:01:07Speaker 9: a good one.
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: Good shit some more girls. Hey, let you watch the show?
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: Shit some more?
- 2:01:16Speaker 3: Is that all you got?
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: Bro? They for sure not watching the show, he says, poop,
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: So you know, it's like, oh, turn this off. They're
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: probably in the background still watching The Youngest Naked doesn't
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: have the dipe RN again.
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: Dude.
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: By the way, I had a DM that came into
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: this guy's exact story of you know, full paragraph essentially
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: the same issue. Kid had a dirty diaper. He actually
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: sent a video that we will not show, but quite literally,
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: he's holding his daughter dying, laughing and it's coming up
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: out of the top of the diaper, just going on
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: the floor, and he's just like, what do I do
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: with this?
- 2:02:01Speaker 3: I mean, what do I do?
- 2:02:02Speaker 2: And his wife is filming it and they're both like giggling.
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: But I was like, I've never seen that before where
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: it's so loaded it's coming out of the top, and
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: what a psycho to just having that poison composure. I'd
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: be puking. You got to deal with this call the cops,
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: get the ambulance, babies, and the video is just kind
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: of like she's loving life. She's having a great day.
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: Not today are you talking about full panic? And it's
- 2:02:30Speaker 2: it's blowouts.
- 2:02:31Speaker 6: Bro.
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm a lot I'm a lot better in
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: the pocket now than I was. But when Rue had
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: her first blowout, it was like on a car ride
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: home and I'm thinking to it, my watch's going, you know,
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: She's like, you, we got to fix the ball and
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: I'm literally like this, like what do you want.
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: Me to do?
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: You well, you got a gag reflex. It is. It
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: is the soak through is the one that's been getting
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: me lately, where it just secretly soaks through you, like
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: out of the bottom of the diaper and you're in
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: one of their legs and all of a sudden you're
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: kind of like, oh, you had a little twot. You
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: have a little too, And then you feel the warmth
- 2:03:08Speaker 2: about right there, yeah, underneath your or you go for
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: the switch, and.
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: As you go for the switch or might like a
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: guest your hat or something, you kind of smell as
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: you smell the whiff on your forearm and you're like,
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: oh shit, how do I go. How do I kind
- 2:03:24Speaker 1: of place her somewhere to where Mom comes across her
- 2:03:28Speaker 1: and she's like, oh she should or diper, I just
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: change her not too long ago to kind of let
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: mom know, Hey, now it's your turn. You see the
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: optics there? You see the shit her diaper again?
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: Kidding me? You should have seen the blowout I just
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: dealt with. Yeah, my god, I just holder too. It
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: was clean. I didn't even smell it. I'm I'm in
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: the doghouse for at least the next three weeks. I
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: can't be. I can't be implementing. I could be changing
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: every diaper topic quiet last another week. H I found
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: one on you Guessed It Instagram?
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: Ah, this actually comes from a big resource of ours,
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: The Daily Dad. There's a video too that I want
- 2:04:15Speaker 1: to play, but I didn't know if it's like a
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: copyright thing if we use somebody else's video on Instagram.
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: But it's like these dads sitting around a campfire, and
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: these are like good old boys, like cowboys, and he's saying, hi,
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: he's got a couple of kiddos, and what advice do
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: you have in this guy? Like I wouldn't want to
- 2:04:31Speaker 1: regurgitate his words. Because he has such a great Western
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: cowboy voice, kind of like Sam Elliott.
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: And he kind of talks about it like he talks
- 2:04:41Speaker 1: about parentings, kind of like riding horses or like being
- 2:04:45Speaker 1: a horse, whatever it is.
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: Yeah, he talks about like it's like a bar of soap.
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: Too loose, a slip out and get away from you.
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: Too tight, slip out and get away from me. And
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: he has this incredible analogy that I would love to
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: play for the audience. It's just a UCG that we
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: use on for the dads. But I think this video
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: is just incredible, the breakdown around the campfire.
- 2:05:09Speaker 3: I'll look into it.
- 2:05:10Speaker 5: Will if anything we can throw it in now, maybe
- 2:05:12Speaker 5: we throw it in credits if it's possible.
- 2:05:16Speaker 3: I don't, I'll have to look it up.
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: Either way, we need. This is one to share on
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: social media because this video is all timing. I bet
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: we talks about it.
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: If you're like nonexistent, you lose them this and that,
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: and if you're too strict, too much of a disciplinarian,
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: it'll push them away.
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: And how to love them within the boundaries. It's it's
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: a great video. Is the page that you found is
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: at the og poster of it. I don't think so, No, okay,
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: because I was going to say, we could just find
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: the person that originally put it up asked for their permission.
- 2:05:45Speaker 4: Yeah, give credit to them, ask for their permission. The
- 2:05:47Speaker 4: other thing, too, is we can look into that so
- 2:05:49Speaker 4: when the episode drops, we can have this go up
- 2:05:51Speaker 4: on the socials around the same time, so that people
- 2:05:54Speaker 4: can go to the socials and see the video as well.
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: That's a great and we can dig into it.
- 2:05:57Speaker 4: We got possibilities, Derek's got.
- 2:06:02Speaker 1: I probably shouldn't play it, should I? Or we'll do
- 2:06:06Speaker 1: a different one because that's a that's a banger video.
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: I came across this post from The Daily Dead their instagram,
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: and it's, uh, it seems like it's in the book,
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: one of their books. Because I have the Daily Debt
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: at the house. This doesn't seem like this kind of format,
- 2:06:23Speaker 1: but it's like a lesson or something seventy four River
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: of Change.
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: The child you see today will not be here tomorrow.
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: The child they're driving home from school is different from
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: the one who left home.
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: Let me say that again. Let me do that Poppatine stakes.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: Bear with me one week, you know the yeah, reverse rewind,
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: maybe edit out. Sheve, I don't know, river of change.
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: The child you see today will not be here tomorrow.
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: The child they're driving home from school is different from
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: the one who left from.
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: Home this morning.
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: Every moment is a death of all that has gone
- 2:06:59Speaker 1: before and a birth of all that is to come.
- 2:07:02Speaker 1: You must jump into the river and let it carry
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: you on its journey. If you try to stop it,
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: you will drown.
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: Deep. Love that and that's from the Daily Dad. Correct,
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: that's from the Daily Dad. Can I follow up that
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: lesson from the Daily Dad with a cool comment that
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: I think you'll really enjoy. Absolutely. This comes from Colorado
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: Alex two on YouTube. He said, love the vulnerability this
- 2:07:28Speaker 2: week from all the boys. Love that the PT six
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: community is a safe place for all of us dads
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: to share and learn from each other. Also huge in
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: all caps shout out to Willie one shelf on a
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: survival kit slash dad hack that I actually followed up on.
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: Not a huge reader, but ended up buying a copy
- 2:07:48Speaker 2: of The Daily Dad. Oh yeah, I read a page
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: every day when I wake up, and my wife has
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: even started showing interest and has me read it out
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: loud to her each day. It's become a nice way
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: to start the day and brings us closer at the
- 2:08:02Speaker 2: same time. Would highly recommend this book to all PT sixers.
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: I love that it.
- 2:08:08Speaker 1: Fires me up because that's exactly like him saying he
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: reads in the morning, or as we do it at
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: the dinner table. But it is it's like you and
- 2:08:16Speaker 1: your wife sit there and talk about stuff, or I
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: read it out loud and she'd be like, I like
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: that one. Here's why I like that one. Or you
- 2:08:22Speaker 1: kind of just communicate, get re attentive. You know, he
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: stopped messing around stuff, playing with your food. Dad is
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: about to read come on. But I love that that
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: fires me up.
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: That fires me up to you, I have one that
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: I think that I want to hold on to you.
- 2:08:36Speaker 2: Every moment is a death of all that has gone before. Sorry,
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: I'm stuck on that. Stuck on that daily dad post.
- 2:08:46Speaker 2: That was a great quote. And the soap of the
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: ranch hand or the cowboy that you're talking about.
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, you'll love that. I'll shoot that one to you.
- 2:08:54Speaker 1: That's a really good one. It's one I want it
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: just ingrained in my head for.
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: You know, for ever.
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: Talking ball with some dads. If somebody hits you on
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: the spot with advice. It's like that, right, there is
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: a great one, dude.
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: The horse stuff is really cool. I have an aunt
- 2:09:10Speaker 2: that actually works with like equine therapy and just like
- 2:09:15Speaker 2: the humans, like attachment to horses and like the lessons
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: that you can learn through training them working with them,
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: and they actually help a ton with people that suffer
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: from uh eating disorders, Like feeding horses is like one
- 2:09:32Speaker 2: of the best ways to like hear eating disorders, which
- 2:09:35Speaker 2: is so interesting. And you're a Texas boy. Come on,
- 2:09:39Speaker 2: come on now. Now, I didn't own any horses, but
- 2:09:41Speaker 2: I did grow up. I can hop on a horse
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: and look like I know what I'm doing. That's all
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: you need. I'm no cowboys or no cowboy. Do you
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: feel good? Great sod great sod man.
- 2:09:55Speaker 1: I feel like there needs to be a clip where
- 2:09:57Speaker 1: it's just are more so reaction to the video of us,
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: like crying back and forth. Not a lot of words said,
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: just tears. I'll have to tune in, oh for the trailer.
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: Not trailer, but just like a clip. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: it could be me and you posting it. That's true.
- 2:10:14Speaker 3: I do like that.
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: I do like that. I literally lost it like I've
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: never lost it. I mean that was you were in
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: kind of a different form than I wasn't expecting to see,
- 2:10:23Speaker 2: especially when you use the way he used the ones.
- 2:10:27Speaker 2: He look, there's like actual like wet marks on there's
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: a bugger right there. I mean, that's your beat red too,
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: like trying to fight it. Couldn't fight it. Well, I'm
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: sitting there, I'm like, I'm yelling at my wife and
- 2:10:39Speaker 2: this guy's making a chair out of her. I mean,
- 2:10:41Speaker 2: I'm just like, what a bomb I am. That's why
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: I hit me that hard. I was just like, I
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: feeling it's such a bumb I feel because I want
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: to do that for my girl, Like that's how I
- 2:10:53Speaker 2: want to make my girl feel. That's why I hit
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: me so hard and low key. That's a dad hack
- 2:10:59Speaker 2: that he just dropped on that phone call. What a data.
- 2:11:02Speaker 2: I kind of want to follow up with them DM
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: wise and be like, Yo, how did you make that, Teddy?
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: That's monny sick buddy, buddy buddy. All right, we love
