2:51
Speaker 3: meaning we welcome in our good friend Angie Gillenwater from
2:54
Speaker 3: the GNAW Charleston Newmain Association with this week's Adopt Me
2:57
Speaker 3: Please Pet of the Week, nGy, Good morning and good
3:01
Speaker 3: morning all right. So our ped of the Week has
3:04
Speaker 3: always picture posted over on my social media. You can
3:07
Speaker 3: check that out on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook or
3:09
Speaker 3: at Dave a seventy on X. It's a cat this
3:12
Speaker 3: week and the cat's name is Apple TV. And I
3:17
Speaker 3: was joking with I was joking with Ryan, our producer,
3:21
Speaker 3: about that a little bit earlier, and I said, it's
3:23
Speaker 3: a good thing. I feel you just looked around and
3:25
Speaker 3: you came up with that name off the top of
3:27
Speaker 3: your head. Had you been in the kitchen, the poor
3:28
Speaker 3: cat's name could have been Toaster or something like that.
3:32
Speaker 5: Coaster's actually a pretty good name.
3:34
Speaker 3: Don't that. Don't hang that one on me. So so,
3:37
Speaker 3: I mean, we all know what Apple TV is. Wh
3:40
Speaker 3: why did you or somebody named the cat apple TV?
3:44
Speaker 5: Well, so it actually was him, his siblings, and his mother.
3:48
Speaker 5: So we also had Hulu, Disney Plus, Netflix, Hbmax, and
3:54
Speaker 5: we're running out of names, so we're just calling them
3:56
Speaker 5: everything at.
3:57
Speaker 3: This point, I completely completely understand, all right. So we
4:02
Speaker 3: got the picture posted over on on Dave Allen Radio
4:06
Speaker 3: on Facebook and also at Dave a seventy on X.
4:08
Speaker 3: Give us a lowdown on the cat known as Apple TV.
4:13
Speaker 5: So Apple TV is not just any shelter kitten. He
4:16
Speaker 5: is my foster kitten, so he's obviously the best kitten.
4:21
Speaker 5: But he is just a little black tuxedo kitten. He's
4:24
Speaker 5: very shy, but he warms up. He's a kitten, you know.
4:28
Speaker 5: I used to do this, take him off and just
4:29
Speaker 5: show him you're not gonna hurt him, and be very
4:32
Speaker 5: slow and gentle with them. He's three months old. So
4:35
Speaker 5: if you have been looking to a kitten to your life,
4:37
Speaker 5: I know a lot of people have been asking when
4:39
Speaker 5: we'll have kittens, now's the time we are overflowing with them.
4:45
Speaker 5: But he's like overall, just a very sweet kitten. He
4:48
Speaker 5: is good with up dogs, other cats, and he also
4:51
Speaker 5: uses litterbox.
4:53
Speaker 3: And he is three months old. Is that what you saim?
4:57
Speaker 5: Yeah? Three months old ish?
5:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah yeah. And because of the things that that
5:05
Speaker 3: the Bissel Corporation does, uh, he the empty the shelter event,
5:09
Speaker 3: he's only twenty bucks, right.
5:12
Speaker 5: Correct, He's only twenty bucks, along with everyone in our
5:15
Speaker 5: shelter puppies, adult dogs, adult cats, they're all twenty dollars.
5:19
Speaker 3: And he will be neutered and and vaxxed before he
5:21
Speaker 3: goes home with somebody.
5:22
Speaker 5: Right correct. So even though adoption fees are lowered. We
5:27
Speaker 5: are still including Spain, neoter vaccines, all the good stuff
5:30
Speaker 5: you normally get in your typical regular adoption fee.
5:33
Speaker 3: I mean it really it is a beautiful cat. And
5:36
Speaker 3: the first cat that my wife and I had was
5:38
Speaker 3: a tuxedo cat. And they're they're they're they're beautiful cats.
5:41
Speaker 3: I mean they really are. We've kind of morphed into well,
5:44
Speaker 3: the ones that have showed all of our cats to
5:46
Speaker 3: show up astrays at our house. Please know more though,
5:48
Speaker 3: We're good with what we have. Uh, the ones we
5:50
Speaker 3: have now are I guess Russian blue. I mean I
5:53
Speaker 3: don't I doubt that they're pure Russian blue. But they're
5:58
Speaker 3: also beautiful cats as well. But Mexos depending on their
6:01
Speaker 3: markings and where the black ends and the white begins,
6:05
Speaker 3: or just are just beautiful, beautiful creatures.
6:08
Speaker 5: They are. Tuxedo is my second favorite color on cats,
6:11
Speaker 5: so they are stunning, all right.
6:13
Speaker 3: I got to ask you what's the favorite then?
6:15
Speaker 5: Oh, obviously the Russian blue gray color.
6:17
Speaker 3: Okay, well, obviously you and I have a lot in
6:20
Speaker 3: common when it comes to when it comes to that.
6:22
Speaker 3: All right, So talk about some other things going on
6:25
Speaker 3: the shelter we'll get back to Apple TV here in
6:27
Speaker 3: a bit. I know you guys have always had a
6:28
Speaker 3: great relationship with Petco and they seem to have come
6:32
Speaker 3: to the rescue again.
6:35
Speaker 5: Yes, pet COO Love gave us a one hundred thousand
6:38
Speaker 5: dollars grant to continue our life saving mission and to
6:43
Speaker 5: help with whatever we need help with, whether it's you know,
6:45
Speaker 5: spain neuter supplies, building maintenance, whatever we need for our shelter.
6:51
Speaker 5: That's what that grant is for, and we cannot be
6:54
Speaker 5: more thankful for that. It comes at a time when
6:57
Speaker 5: we really need it, I'll say that. And then we
7:00
Speaker 5: got to celebrate getting that grant with our friends at
7:03
Speaker 5: our local pet Coast store, so that was also really fun.
7:06
Speaker 3: That's the home of a pet Go penhouse as you
7:08
Speaker 3: call it, right, yes, but now now correct, the cat
7:11
Speaker 3: that we had this week Apple TV, Apple TV has
7:13
Speaker 3: been living in the Gillenwater penthouse right, correct?
7:17
Speaker 5: Is I wouldn't quite say penthouse, but yeah.
7:19
Speaker 3: Well, well you can't call it a cat house because
7:22
Speaker 3: that has another connotation. But anyway, that's right, that's a
7:25
Speaker 3: that's a show for another time, all right. Also, I
7:28
Speaker 3: mentioned the event, the thing that's going on with Bissel
7:31
Speaker 3: in Abissle. Uh just has done so many great things
7:35
Speaker 3: across the nation when it comes to our animals and
7:39
Speaker 3: shelters and whatever. And you also have a great relationship
7:43
Speaker 3: as do all the shelters with the folks at Bissele.
7:46
Speaker 5: Yes, and we are very thankful for Bissel. They actually
7:49
Speaker 5: saw our post where we were extremely full and offered
7:52
Speaker 5: us an emergency empty the Shelters event, which is really
7:56
Speaker 5: exciting to know that they're there to help and they
7:59
Speaker 5: are they on a whim to help as well, So
8:03
Speaker 5: we are very thankful for Bissel. We always see a
8:05
Speaker 5: lot of adoptions during Empty the Shelters. Shout out to
8:08
Speaker 5: you Bistle Pet Foundation and Kathy Issel.
8:11
Speaker 2: Yeah.
8:11
Speaker 3: Absolutely. But Dave Allen showing five Adie Live is brought
8:14
Speaker 3: to you in part by snap Fitness with a wide
8:16
Speaker 3: array of professional wellness services including customized personal training, license
8:20
Speaker 3: recovery experts of the staff and dietitians. Five great locations Charleston, Hurricane, Winfield, Barbersville,
8:25
Speaker 3: and Milton. Visitsnapfitness dot com for details. How are we
8:28
Speaker 3: looking on numbers, Miss Angie?
8:31
Speaker 5: Still over five hundred? It doesn't it seems that, however
8:36
Speaker 5: many we adopt out. There's just double back coming in
8:38
Speaker 5: the door that needs us, so we're staying where we're at.
8:43
Speaker 5: The good news day is that our staff is starting
8:45
Speaker 5: to like learn how to roll with the punches with
8:48
Speaker 5: this many animals in our care.
8:49
Speaker 3: I mean, and that can't be easy because in the
8:51
Speaker 3: past you've told us how you've got animals in offices,
8:55
Speaker 3: and that's why fosters are so important for people like yourself.
9:00
Speaker 3: You're an employee there, but I mean other people, and
9:02
Speaker 3: I know you got plenty of them in the in
9:04
Speaker 3: the community that are willing to foster some animals just
9:07
Speaker 3: to get them out of there for a little while,
9:09
Speaker 3: get them in a much safer and a much much
9:12
Speaker 3: more calming home environment.
9:16
Speaker 5: Yes, God, we touched on this because fostering is probably
9:20
Speaker 5: one of my favorite things to do, and I know
9:22
Speaker 5: that a lot of our fosters also would tell you
9:24
Speaker 5: the same thing. It's temporary pet ownership, which is great.
9:29
Speaker 5: You can borrow an animal for a weekend, a week,
9:32
Speaker 5: or you know, however long you want to. But not
9:35
Speaker 5: only do you get to get them out of the shelter,
9:38
Speaker 5: you know, take away stress for a little bit, you
9:41
Speaker 5: also get to kind of see them feel better and
9:44
Speaker 5: open up in your home as well.
9:46
Speaker 3: All right, So the best thing to do is just
9:48
Speaker 3: contact the folks at the shelter, you know, go to
9:49
Speaker 3: their Facebook page, their website or whatever, tell them that
9:51
Speaker 3: you would like to be a foster. I know you
9:53
Speaker 3: had an event last week with the folks over at
9:56
Speaker 3: to the Green Infusion over on the west end of Charleston,
9:59
Speaker 3: and I'm trusting that that that went pretty well. Are
10:00
Speaker 3: you guys out at about anywhere this weekend?
10:03
Speaker 5: Not this weekend. My partner in crime, Seth, is on vacation,
10:08
Speaker 5: so we didn't schedule anything for this weekend weekend. We
10:12
Speaker 5: will be at Charleston.
10:13
Speaker 3: Pride, all right, all right, Well, folks will be looking
10:16
Speaker 3: for you there. Appreciate you being here, Angie. As always,
10:19
Speaker 3: it is great to talk to you. Keep doing good
10:22
Speaker 3: things and we'll talk again next week. Thanks a lot.
10:25
Speaker 5: Sounds great.
10:25
Speaker 3: I have a good one and she get atwater canaw Charleston.
10:28
Speaker 3: You've made association again. The picture posted over on my
10:31
Speaker 3: Facebook page Dave Allen Radio and also at Dave A
10:33
Speaker 3: seventy on x Apple TV is our cat. It's a
10:37
Speaker 3: kitten actually three months old, a bit shy at first,
10:40
Speaker 3: but super sweet when she warms up to you. She
10:42
Speaker 3: loves other cats and other dogs. She is litter trained,
10:46
Speaker 3: and again thanks to the empty of the shelter event
10:48
Speaker 3: from Bissel, he is only twenty dollars. He will be
10:52
Speaker 3: newted in vaccine, a vaccinent vaccine vaccinated, that is before
10:55
Speaker 3: he leaves. So go and check out Apple TV. Apple TV.
11:01
Speaker 3: When are we talking to Jim Strawn here? Momentarily? Our
11:04
Speaker 3: goal is to get Jim Strawn another cat, So all right,
11:08
Speaker 3: so he's whispering to me a's in studio that says
11:11
Speaker 3: that he is. He's got a plan, so we'll talk
11:13
Speaker 3: to you about that in a little bit. We had
11:18
Speaker 3: a text I'll try to get this to Angie said,
11:19
Speaker 3: when can we see the floor plan for the new shelter.
11:21
Speaker 3: I will try to get that information from miss gillan
11:25
Speaker 3: Water and get an answer to that quick text here
11:28
Speaker 3: because I'm going to need my listener's help on this.
11:30
Speaker 3: I always need listener's help, says mister Allen. It's been
11:33
Speaker 3: over a year that you had a female guest on
11:36
Speaker 3: your show. At the end of the interview, you asked
11:38
Speaker 3: her for her husband still worked on old pinball machines.
11:41
Speaker 3: I believe. She said, yes, I have two old pinball
11:45
Speaker 3: machines that need worked on. Could you ask if they
11:48
Speaker 3: would agree to either give you their number or give
11:51
Speaker 3: them my number and her name? And she gave me
11:52
Speaker 3: her name a number live in Charles to listen to
11:54
Speaker 3: both of your shows from day one. Thank you. I
11:57
Speaker 3: don't remember that.
12:01
Speaker 6: I actually do, Okay, Jim, I actually remember the segment,
12:04
Speaker 6: but I don't remember that the numbers are the names.
12:06
Speaker 3: But I remember that segment for some reason because I'm
12:08
Speaker 3: a pinball fan. I love him, I love playing. Who
12:10
Speaker 3: would I have had on the show that that their
12:13
Speaker 3: husband worked on pinball? You can't remember who it was?
12:15
Speaker 3: Just I was just import I got a guy that
12:17
Speaker 3: I think I might be able to help at least
12:19
Speaker 3: put me on the right track. And it's my good
12:21
Speaker 3: friend Tommy Clay. Uh from Tommy would know Tommy would
12:25
Speaker 3: Tommy knows everything. So just asking, I'll tell you, Uh no,
12:29
Speaker 3: I'm kidding, I'm kidding it, So I may I may
12:31
Speaker 3: have to uh have to contact my friend Tommy. All right.
12:34
Speaker 3: So to the person that sent this in, Ronda is
12:36
Speaker 3: her name, Ronda, I appreciate you. I don't remember the
12:38
Speaker 3: particular segment, but I'm gonna throw it out there if
12:41
Speaker 3: you are an everyday listener to the show and you
12:43
Speaker 3: remember the segment I did, because I don't uh the
12:47
Speaker 3: end of an interview I had. I had a female
12:49
Speaker 3: on the show whose husband worked on pinball machines. Ronda,
12:53
Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm linking one with the other here, Jim.
12:55
Speaker 3: That's what we do. Buddy. You're a connector. You're the connector.
12:58
Speaker 3: You are the king of networking. So so, Ronda, I'm
13:01
Speaker 3: gonna try to take care of you. I'll see what

Speaker 3: zero four nine three five five zero zero eights. You
15:54
Speaker 3: heard him earlier. Now he's here in the official capacity.
15:56
Speaker 3: It's mister Jim Strawn. I am official. Good morning, Dave.
15:59
Speaker 3: How are you, my friend? I am doing well. I
16:01
Speaker 3: look good for man, your age well, thank you? Stunning
16:03
Speaker 3: over there. Not sure what that means, but you know, okay,
16:07
Speaker 3: you know in sept I'm thinking about this the other day, Jimmy,
16:09
Speaker 3: and you'll you'll reckon that being a being an advertising gap.
16:12
Speaker 3: In September, I enter what's called the final demo fifty
16:16
Speaker 3: five plus fifty five plus. Yeah, after that it's like
16:18
Speaker 3: fifty five and all who aren't dead. So that's that's
16:21
Speaker 3: where I had in September.
16:22
Speaker 6: So that's good news for me for you because now
16:24
Speaker 6: you qualified to stay at my little condo, which is
16:26
Speaker 6: fifty five plus community.
16:28
Speaker 3: I know we've had this. We're going to get fun
16:29
Speaker 3: that I got to get. Now you qualify officially. Officially,
16:32
Speaker 3: we were gonna lie about my age like I was
16:34
Speaker 3: buying beer at seventeen, like I.
16:35
Speaker 6: Did at Logan's final demo. I've not heard it described
16:38
Speaker 6: as that it's the final demo Ryan on my birthday
16:42
Speaker 6: in September. I want like some, I want some like
16:44
Speaker 6: I may be the ULTI it's the final demo, the
16:47
Speaker 6: Ultimate Final, Final sixty five in October. For me, the
16:50
Speaker 6: medicare eligible that that could be the ultimate Final. But yeah, hey,
16:54
Speaker 6: season twenty one is upon us. We launched it last week,
16:58
Speaker 6: so this will be week number two of the Most
17:00
Speaker 6: Auto Group Live and Levy got it in last week.
17:02
Speaker 6: Had a blast modified start time five o'clock, Reverend Horton
17:06
Speaker 6: heat was.
17:07
Speaker 3: They were spectacular. The trio was just fun, entertaining. We
17:12
Speaker 3: had a good crowd.
17:13
Speaker 6: They played for seventy five minutes and then we threw
17:15
Speaker 6: it up to the cycling. I suck around Dave last
17:17
Speaker 6: week in town like Matt was in here after me
17:20
Speaker 6: last week. I was age nine thirty nine. I've stayed
17:23
Speaker 6: for the awards ceremony. It was so much fun watching
17:25
Speaker 6: that criterion and those bicyclists. So we had a big
17:27
Speaker 6: night in Charleston. But tonight more of a regular schedule.
17:31
Speaker 6: The boulevard won't be blocked off with cyclists. It'll be
17:35
Speaker 6: full of food vendors and sponsors and so forth. Kind
17:38
Speaker 6: of a normal Friday night down at the Hadad Riverfront
17:41
Speaker 6: Park in the shown bomb stage. The music starts at
17:43
Speaker 6: six this year, so at six o'clock from the shown
17:46
Speaker 6: Bomb stage, we have Magnolia Boulevard. They will bring their
17:49
Speaker 6: signature blend of soul and rock and blues right down
17:52
Speaker 6: there to the banks of the Great Kanawa a had
17:55
Speaker 6: Ad Riverfront Park. They'll play for sixty minutes. We take
17:58
Speaker 6: like a thirty minute break. We'll do the T shirts,
18:00
Speaker 6: we'll do the announcements, we'll talk about the fifty to fifty,
18:03
Speaker 6: we'll listen to the mayor, we'll listen to whoever the
18:06
Speaker 6: charity is. So we'll spend some time and then at
18:09
Speaker 6: seven point thirty there's a ninety minute set and I
18:12
Speaker 6: cannot wait. I think we're gonna get it in. It's
18:14
Speaker 6: gonna be damp all day. It's gonna be damp all day,
18:16
Speaker 6: but I think we're gonna get a little window. Might
18:18
Speaker 6: be chilly, but we're gonna get the no Bs Brass
18:21
Speaker 6: Band in. Beginning at seven thirty. They'll do a ninety
18:24
Speaker 6: minute set all the way until at nine o'clock. This
18:27
Speaker 6: No Bs Brass Band, I can't wait. Eleven pieces, trombones, trumpets, sacksophones,
18:34
Speaker 6: blues singers, a little Marty Grawy is a little New Orleans,
18:37
Speaker 6: but they're from Virginia.
18:39
Speaker 3: They're spectacular.
18:40
Speaker 6: I've listened to a couple of their YouTube's very electric,
18:43
Speaker 6: amazingly high energy. They just light up the stage. We
18:46
Speaker 6: might not even need lights, they're so electrifying. It should
18:50
Speaker 6: be a really good time.
18:51
Speaker 3: Knock on wood. We get it in. I think we are.
18:54
Speaker 6: I feel pretty good about it. Dress a little bit warm,
18:57
Speaker 6: but I think we're gonna be okay. And pay attention
18:59
Speaker 6: to the Facebook page Live on the Levy, Charleston. We'll
19:02
Speaker 6: keep you posted on weather and when we're going to
19:05
Speaker 6: have it. There could be a delay, but if there's
19:07
Speaker 6: any way possible, the City of Charleston has always tried
19:09
Speaker 6: to get the music in. If it's not possible, it's
19:12
Speaker 6: not possible, dag on it.
19:14
Speaker 3: But which kind of good I mean, we're not calling
19:16
Speaker 3: it now, buddy, struction of the imagination. But you've really
19:19
Speaker 3: since you've been coming and doing the same way, you've
19:21
Speaker 3: had a really good run. Great run.
19:23
Speaker 6: Even if we get an hour in, we'll wait even
19:26
Speaker 6: un till seven thirty eight, eight fifteen, Okay, it start
19:30
Speaker 6: at eight fifteen and give us an hour, so we'll
19:32
Speaker 6: we always try to get music in. If you can
19:35
Speaker 6: just wait us out, maybe get a byte deat, have
19:38
Speaker 6: a beverage dehydrated, get your spirited beverage, great to have
19:41
Speaker 6: four points by Sheridan, offer that. But we're going to
19:43
Speaker 6: have food vendors on the boulevard.
19:45
Speaker 3: Time do the food vendors generally start to saying there.
19:47
Speaker 6: They'll get there about five thirty, so you may be
19:49
Speaker 6: able to get a bite deat even at five thirty.
19:52
Speaker 6: Some of them may not be, but they got to
19:54
Speaker 6: be ready to go by six. Sure, many of them
19:56
Speaker 6: when I'm walking around at five thirty, they're ready to go.
19:59
Speaker 6: So if you get down there, I have thirty want
20:00
Speaker 6: to get a bite, get you a beverage, and then
20:03
Speaker 6: we'll start music at six o'clock again with the Magnolia
20:05
Speaker 6: Boulevard and then at seven thirty for ninety minutes. I
20:09
Speaker 6: really can't wait. No BS Brass Band a little bit
20:12
Speaker 6: different this year. You'll hear me talk about it as
20:14
Speaker 6: I can throughout the season, but we're gonna do the
20:17
Speaker 6: fifty to fifty drawing instead of eight thirty five, it'll
20:20
Speaker 6: happen at nine, right after the headliner is over at nine.
20:24
Speaker 6: So we're gonna do the fifty to fifty drawing so
20:26
Speaker 6: we have more time to sell the fifty to fifty tickets,
20:28
Speaker 6: which obviously helps our CCR, Covenant House, sojourn Or shelter
20:32
Speaker 6: Man and Meal and KBC Collective, So a little more
20:35
Speaker 6: time to maybe get the pot up a little bigger.
20:38
Speaker 3: Then we'll do the drawing at nine.
20:39
Speaker 6: We've raised one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars in
20:42
Speaker 6: the twenty seasons that we've been doing this great fun
20:45
Speaker 6: for a great cause, And tonight, Dave, you may have
20:47
Speaker 6: talked about it already, you may have had somebody in.
20:49
Speaker 6: I'm sorry if I missed it, but it's also a
20:51
Speaker 6: festival weekend, so this is in conjunction with Festival. This
20:54
Speaker 6: is a partner with Live on Levee tonight, so it's
20:56
Speaker 6: Festival Live on Levee. I show you yesterday about love
21:00
Speaker 6: when our city becomes a work of art. The city
21:03
Speaker 6: is just doing a great job with so many fun
21:05
Speaker 6: things to do this weekend, I mean last weekend. We
21:09
Speaker 6: said it last weekend. Oh my gosh. There's so much
21:11
Speaker 6: going on, same thing this weekend, tonight tomorrow. First of all,
21:15
Speaker 6: Charlie West, we got Siphany Sunday, dude, we got things
21:18
Speaker 6: to do. If you like music, if you like crowds,
21:19
Speaker 6: if you like being out with people, enjoying beverages and
21:22
Speaker 6: having a bite, eat and fellowship. Charleston, West, Virginia is
21:25
Speaker 6: a pretty hoigh spot to be this weekend. Not really
21:28
Speaker 6: temperature wise hot, but it'll be.
21:29
Speaker 3: Fun to be. It's gonna get that way by next week.
21:32
Speaker 3: It's gonna be warm next week. How which is where
21:35
Speaker 3: you know, I guess we should be older adults should
21:37
Speaker 3: protect themselves agains severe respiratory disease. Talk to your doctor
21:40
Speaker 3: about flu, COVID nineteen and RSV vaccines, riskless, do more,
21:43
Speaker 3: Get started Vaccines dot gov paid for by the US
21:46
Speaker 3: Department of Health and Human Services. Yeah, I mean I
21:48
Speaker 3: had to. I had Bob Thompson on the show earlier
21:50
Speaker 3: this week. Is he playing tomorrow night over you see
21:52
Speaker 3: by chance? Yeah? Oh yeah, okay, he's part of it. Yeah,
21:55
Speaker 3: oh yeah he was.
21:55
Speaker 5: Yeah.
21:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, they'll be playing with Ryan Kennedy and the whole
21:58
Speaker 3: group over there and will be a big part of
22:01
Speaker 3: that as well. And we've got all the information about
22:04
Speaker 3: the Charlie West Music Fest.
22:05
Speaker 6: Uh.
22:06
Speaker 3: They're doing a happy hour. That's something that interests you
22:08
Speaker 3: and I. They're they're doing a happy hour and I
22:10
Speaker 3: love it. It's not just an hour, it's two. Yes,
22:12
Speaker 3: happy hours, go bigger, go bigger, go go home instead
22:16
Speaker 3: of it. But I'll be I'll be over there tomorrow.
22:18
Speaker 3: It'll be fun. And actually got some info from the
22:20
Speaker 3: folks at the Symphony.
22:22
Speaker 5: Uh.
22:22
Speaker 3: They reached out to me a couple of days ago
22:24
Speaker 3: to remind people about Symphony Sunday, which is happening over
22:28
Speaker 3: there at the University of Charleston on Sunday. Uh, And
22:31
Speaker 3: I just I didn't really have enough space to put
22:33
Speaker 3: them on this week. I said, well, let me know
22:34
Speaker 3: about what's going on in the future, and so we
22:36
Speaker 3: got that going on. I mean there's stuff everre the
22:41
Speaker 3: one of the nation's largest pickleball tournaments has happened in Nitro.
22:44
Speaker 3: They're gonna these courts are nice, by the way, and
22:46
Speaker 3: they're gonna cut the ribbon on the indoor facility. You
22:49
Speaker 3: got two of the top pickleball players anywhere in America
22:54
Speaker 3: that are there, the Michael Jordan uh Susannah uh uh
23:00
Speaker 3: a bar. I think I had her on the show.
23:01
Speaker 3: I should remember that on the show yesterday. She's known
23:05
Speaker 3: as the Michael Jordan pickleball players, and she's gonna be there.
23:07
Speaker 3: Didn't hear that? Kind of like you're known as the
23:09
Speaker 3: Michael Jordan of Marketers, Right, Yeah, that's that's yeah, I'm
23:14
Speaker 3: MJ for sure. Hello. But yeah, we talk about it
23:18
Speaker 3: all the time.
23:19
Speaker 7: Dave.
23:19
Speaker 3: Just always something. Just just look in the paper, listen
23:23
Speaker 3: to this show.
23:24
Speaker 6: Check out HD Media, check out any TV station, check
23:27
Speaker 6: out any of your sisters stations here. Just listen to
23:29
Speaker 6: what's going on and you're like, Wow, there's always something new.
23:32
Speaker 6: We have a we have a guest that used to
23:34
Speaker 6: you might even remember our good friend Bob Butterfield. Bob's
23:37
Speaker 6: flying up from Florida for this weekend for the Levy,
23:40
Speaker 6: for the Charlie West for the Symphony Sunday, and you
23:43
Speaker 6: mentioned Bob Thompson. I was in Huntington last night listening
23:45
Speaker 6: to the president of Western Ginia West and he was
23:47
Speaker 6: a jazz guy, jazz major, music major, James Moore. Very well,
23:51
Speaker 6: I'm listening to him and he has he he had
23:53
Speaker 6: to drop Bob Thompson's name. Bob Thompson is a blues
23:57
Speaker 6: jazz legend in the world and he just happens to
24:00
Speaker 6: be in Chuckytown.
24:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, he just and his story is fascinating because he's
24:05
Speaker 3: not from here, but as the old thing goes, he
24:06
Speaker 3: got here as quickly as he could. Actually, he's made
24:08
Speaker 3: this his home here. And I mean it's not an
24:11
Speaker 3: event unless Bob Thompson's love Night loved me some Bob
24:13
Speaker 3: Toomas I was. I was a very very happy to
24:16
Speaker 3: have him. I've known him for a number of years,
24:17
Speaker 3: but first time I'd ever had him on the show.
24:19
Speaker 6: You always love to tell stories because you're getting up
24:21
Speaker 6: there old in age nineteen seventy eight, I'm a youngster.
24:26
Speaker 6: I'm working at the old Elk River Holiday Inn for
24:28
Speaker 6: the summer before I go back to Western New Western
24:30
Speaker 6: College and on Sunday nights from five to eight it
24:34
Speaker 6: was a jam session. I have no idea who these
24:36
Speaker 6: people were. I'm seventeen years old waiting to turn eighteen,
24:40
Speaker 6: and every Sunday night Ky Haynes would come in Bob
24:43
Speaker 6: Thompson and Sandy Patty. So I met this guy named Bob,
24:47
Speaker 6: and I just got to know Bob. I didn't know
24:49
Speaker 6: who Bob was. Bob Thompson. I've known Bob Thompson since
24:51
Speaker 6: nineteen seventy eight. We have been really pretty good buddies.
24:55
Speaker 6: And what a legend. Kay Haynes rest his soul. And
24:58
Speaker 6: it was just a great Sunday night all summer long.
25:00
Speaker 6: I'm thinking, how fortunate am I at seventeen to be
25:03
Speaker 6: working with these guys. I'm running, I'm running served, I'm
25:06
Speaker 6: running drinks, I'm running bus boy, I'm serving, I'm serving,
25:09
Speaker 6: I'm running room service. And there's Bob and the place
25:11
Speaker 6: was packed. Bob was a legend in nineteen seventy eight.
25:14
Speaker 3: Oh sure, he was. Absolutely. I got this idea and
25:17
Speaker 3: we've been knocking it around back and forth with frequent
25:21
Speaker 3: guests of the show. Former Mayor Danny Jones loved to
25:24
Speaker 3: sit down and and I you know, I'm a little
25:28
Speaker 3: bit younger than you guys, and plus I'm not from
25:30
Speaker 3: Charleston originally, but I would love to sit down and
25:33
Speaker 3: just whether it's a podcast whatever, and just you guys
25:36
Speaker 3: just tell stories about Charles's.
25:37
Speaker 6: Story after story after story after story. I think Eric
25:40
Speaker 6: did it a couple of years ago. He's working with
25:42
Speaker 6: the festival, and we did like a podcast, but it
25:46
Speaker 6: wasn't it was a It was a It was a
25:49
Speaker 6: boys down memory lane of baseball in Charleston. So he
25:52
Speaker 6: interviewed people from the Senators, from the Charlie's that was me.
25:56
Speaker 6: He interviewed people went to the Alley Cats and all
25:59
Speaker 6: the way up until now. But it was just a
26:01
Speaker 6: historical voice and a view of baseball and Charleston. That
26:06
Speaker 6: kind of stuff fascinates me and I love to listen
26:08
Speaker 6: to That's You're onto Something to Dave, You're onto Something.
26:11
Speaker 6: Just get some older folks have been from Charleston in
26:13
Speaker 6: her whole life. It would they would flow with story
26:16
Speaker 6: after story after story of things and people and buildings
26:19
Speaker 6: and individuals and just unique people and just fun, fun
26:23
Speaker 6: things that happened that people are like, Wow, that's pretty cool.
26:26
Speaker 6: I think I think you're onto something.
26:27
Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to live on the level.
26:29
Speaker 6: Let's get back tonight at six o'clock hat Ed Riverfront Park.
26:32
Speaker 6: The music will start with Magnolia Boulevard. They'll play for
26:35
Speaker 6: sixty minutes, little soul, little rock, and then at seven
26:38
Speaker 6: thirty folks, try to get down there. If you can't
26:40
Speaker 6: get there for Magnolia, get there for the No BS
26:44
Speaker 6: Brass Band. They'll start at seven point thirty, high energy, electrifying,
26:48
Speaker 6: eleven piece band. It's you know, the trombones and the
26:51
Speaker 6: trumpets and all the wind and a great New Orleans sound.
26:55
Speaker 6: No Brass, No BS Brass Band. And then we'll do
26:58
Speaker 6: the drawing at nine o'clock. Regular week. Lots of food vendors,
27:02
Speaker 6: lots of sponsors on the boulevard, lots of things happening
27:05
Speaker 6: down there. Get down, enjoy the free concert offered by
27:09
Speaker 6: the City of Charleston, presented by Moses Auto Group, and
27:12
Speaker 6: of course all the stations over here at w b
27:15

27:16
Speaker 3: All right, thank you, buddy, Jimmy, appreciate you being here.

30:27
Speaker 3: a text to the show waiting on me when I
30:28
Speaker 3: got here that said, mister Allen, it's been over a
30:31
Speaker 3: year that you had a female guest on your show.
30:33
Speaker 3: At the end, you ask her if her husband still
30:35
Speaker 3: worked on old pinball machines. I believe she said yes.
30:39
Speaker 3: And this lady who texted me his name is Rohnda.
30:41
Speaker 3: She said, I've got two old pinball machines that need
30:43
Speaker 3: worked on. Can you try to help me? And I say,
30:47
Speaker 3: you know what, I do what I can, And I
30:49
Speaker 3: threw it out there to the listeners, and one of
30:52
Speaker 3: our listeners texted up and I do not remember doing
30:58
Speaker 3: that particular interviewer who may it may have been with? However,
31:02
Speaker 3: one of our texters sent me the a business called

31:40
Speaker 3: I hope that helps. I'm still trying to find out

32:12
Speaker 3: I've got a lot of prep work I'm doing behind
32:14
Speaker 3: the scenes. You text me, You're like you're up and
32:16
Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, let me stop what I'm doing. You're
32:18
Speaker 3: end down. I know you're always on time. I was
32:20
Speaker 3: just reminded you because I know in our world it's
32:22
Speaker 3: very easy to get busy and lose track and time.
32:25
Speaker 3: So for those that we talked about it before, but
32:26
Speaker 3: those who aren't familiar with what you are doing, what
32:29
Speaker 3: are you doing and why are you doing?
32:30
Speaker 2: Yeah?
32:31
Speaker 12: So here at WVRC Media, we're we love the work
32:36
Speaker 12: that WVU Medicine Children's does. WVU Medicine Children's never turns
32:41
Speaker 12: a child away, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
32:44
Speaker 12: So I've shared my cousin Ainslie, she suffered an eye
32:49
Speaker 12: injury playing soccer. She utilized the facility at WVU Medicine Children.
32:54
Speaker 12: So I always say, everybody knows somebody that has used
32:57
Speaker 12: WVU Medicine Children So it's a very special place in
33:00
Speaker 12: my heart. And here with our company, we're great partners
33:04
Speaker 12: with WVU Medicine Children. So I'm camping out to raise
33:07
Speaker 12: ten thousand dollars for WVU.
33:08
Speaker 3: Medicine, dropping a bucket for our listeners.
33:10
Speaker 13: Man.
33:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
33:11
Speaker 12: If everybody, every listener gives one dollar, I'll be out
33:14
Speaker 12: of there by five yeah.
33:16
Speaker 3: And so you're going to start this at three o'clock.
33:18
Speaker 3: And where are you going to be set up at
33:20
Speaker 3: the ballpark?
33:20
Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm going to be right by the main gate,
33:22
Speaker 12: so when they lock me in, when once the game
33:25
Speaker 12: is over, I can go to the fence, go to
33:28
Speaker 12: the gate and grab donations if anybody swings by. But
33:32
Speaker 12: you don't have to even come to the ballpark. You
33:33
Speaker 12: can come to the ballpark. I'm not saying don't come
33:36
Speaker 12: to the ballpark, but I'm saying I can't make it tonight.
33:38
Speaker 12: Go to the website V one hundred at dot fm
33:40
Speaker 12: for the link to give. It'll be on the V
33:42
Speaker 12: one hundred Facebook page. I'll be doing check ins on
33:45
Speaker 12: Facebook Live. I'll keep you updated on my camping journey
33:48
Speaker 12: on Facebook.
33:49
Speaker 3: All right, And this is I mean, this is such
33:51
Speaker 3: a great idea, you know that you had, and we
33:54
Speaker 3: turned it over to our listeners, the greatest listeners in
33:55
Speaker 3: the world. That's what we have here. And I'm going
33:57
Speaker 3: no matter what we're doing, our listeners step up to
34:01
Speaker 3: the plate. And we don't want to hit them with
34:02
Speaker 3: too much at once. But you're going to hear us
34:04
Speaker 3: talking about this next week. We are doing next week
34:07
Speaker 3: a drop your snacks We've done, drop your socks, We've done,
34:10
Speaker 3: you know, all these different things. We're a great number
34:13
Speaker 3: of kids, as you know at Logan go go home
34:16
Speaker 3: for the summer, especially without food. Right, And so we
34:20
Speaker 3: are going to have another one of these things where
34:23
Speaker 3: we ask you to bring stuff. And it's next Thursday, Thursday, Thursday,
34:28
Speaker 3: next Thursday in our parking lot, just like we always do.
34:30
Speaker 3: Seven am to six pm. All of our stations will
34:32
Speaker 3: be out there and we're just asking people to bring
34:35
Speaker 3: nonperishable food times. Yeah, and we are going to get
34:38
Speaker 3: those to those kids in need to make sure that
34:41
Speaker 3: they have some snacks this summertime. So yeah, again I
34:43
Speaker 3: bring that up now, not to confuse the two things,
34:45
Speaker 3: but so people realize that we're always out there doing
34:48
Speaker 3: stuff in the community. That's not why we do it
34:49
Speaker 3: for the recognition. We do it because we like to
34:52
Speaker 3: be good people and we love to give back. Yeah, exactly,
34:54
Speaker 3: that's what we do here, all right. So people going
34:57
Speaker 3: to the Dirty Birds ball game, what what And I
34:59
Speaker 3: don't want gonna put any bad juju out there, you know,
35:02
Speaker 3: for Jill and Jay and the folks over with the
35:04
Speaker 3: Dirty Birds. What if the game is rained out, then
35:07
Speaker 3: you're just gonna be pretty lonely. I guess, so, I guess.
35:09
Speaker 12: So I have as a group text of friends who
35:12
Speaker 12: are gonna alternate with me this evening. Uh huh, so
35:15
Speaker 12: it may just be me and my friends having a
35:17
Speaker 12: party at the at the ballparks I'm camping for kids.
35:20
Speaker 3: Can see you and that those are hooligan friends of
35:22
Speaker 3: yours out there running around the bases and hitting up
35:25
Speaker 3: the concession stand. And uh, well we used to have
35:28
Speaker 3: a keg here, but it's not here anymore. That's to
35:31
Speaker 3: not mentioned any names, Brian Hughes. Uh but but but
35:34
Speaker 3: just saying, you know, but it's gonna be it's gonna
35:36
Speaker 3: be a great event. And and and God bless you
35:38
Speaker 3: for what you're doing out there for these kids. And
35:40
Speaker 3: as you said, everybody knows somebody. You may not think
35:43
Speaker 3: you do, but you're only like one or two people
35:45
Speaker 3: away from knowing some as I just shared my story.
35:49
Speaker 12: So there you go.
35:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, so so again, go to the the link will
35:53
Speaker 3: be up. It's up now.
35:55
Speaker 12: Okay, I've also made it not to throw more numbers out,
35:58
Speaker 12: but you can text the word kids to the V
36:01
Speaker 12: one hundred line three zero four three, four five eight
36:04
Speaker 12: one zero zero and it will give you a link
36:06
Speaker 12: as well to donate, so you can do that there.
36:08
Speaker 12: Or if you're coming to the Dirty Words Baseball game,
36:10
Speaker 12: you can. And even if you're not coming to the game, right,
36:13
Speaker 12: I mean, even if it's like you know, because I
36:15
Speaker 12: guess they're playing tomorrow night, it's sometime during the day,
36:18
Speaker 12: you're still going to be there there. I mean, you're
36:19
Speaker 12: hopefully to not be there, right, but I will be
36:22
Speaker 12: there till our's ten thousand dollars.
36:23
Speaker 3: My weekend is my calendar is blocked out, all right,
36:26
Speaker 3: So we don't want to leave him there so because
36:29
Speaker 3: he's got to be back to work on Monday.
36:31
Speaker 12: So and it's it's nine forty three. So if you're
36:34
Speaker 12: your business want to get involved, you still have time.
36:36
Speaker 12: You can call our office and ask for Sean. And
36:38
Speaker 12: I'm blanking on our office number right now, three oh
36:40
Speaker 12: four three four to two eight one three.
36:42
Speaker 3: Well yeah, there you go. Sorry, more numbers. There's so
36:45
Speaker 3: many numbers out here as you're sitting here with the
36:47
Speaker 3: numbers V one hundred. So all right, Logan, I appreciate
36:51
Speaker 3: you man, and we will wish you the best of
36:53
Speaker 3: luck and Hopefully we'll get you out of there before Monday,
36:56
Speaker 3: because somebody's got to do the drive that you do
36:58
Speaker 3: in the afternoon. Fingers Crow, thank you, Davi. Yeah, all right,
37:01
Speaker 3: thanks ma'am. Logan Scott. He'll be over there starting at
37:03
Speaker 3: about three today and even if the game's rained out,
37:06
Speaker 3: he's going to be there. I'll be there. He'll be there,
37:08
Speaker 3: all right. He's raising money for WU Children's all right,
37:11
Speaker 3: let's get back to this situation on the pinball machines. Man,
37:15
Speaker 3: you talk about you know ADHD Theater. This is what
37:18
Speaker 3: this show has been today. I mentioned that we had
37:22
Speaker 3: a text into the show from Ronda that said, about
37:26
Speaker 3: a year ago, I had a female guest on my
37:29
Speaker 3: show and at the end of the interview we talked
37:31
Speaker 3: about her husband working on old pinball machines and she
37:35
Speaker 3: was trying to figure out because Ronda has two old
37:38
Speaker 3: pinball machines that need worked on. I was drawing a blank.
37:42
Speaker 7: As so it is.
37:43
Speaker 3: But again, the greatest listeners in the world. We had
37:46
Speaker 3: one person that called up our producer Ryan and another
37:49
Speaker 3: one that texts it to the show. I do believe
37:52
Speaker 3: we have the person, and it was Delegate Kathy hes Krauss,
37:57
Speaker 3: her husband Mark, who I know very well. Great Mark
38:01
Speaker 3: is the one. According to a call that Ryan got
38:04
Speaker 3: and a text that I just got to the show,
38:08
Speaker 3: it apparently was the husband of Delegate Kathy Hess Krause,
38:12
Speaker 3: based out of the Putnam County area. So, Ronda, if
38:16
Speaker 3: you are listening, I'll tell you what I am going
38:18
Speaker 3: to do. I am going to put you in touch
38:23
Speaker 3: with Delegate Krause and her husband Mark. And that's two people.
38:27
Speaker 3: That's two people that have said that. So I'm gonna
38:29
Speaker 3: go ahead and go with that. That is the husband
38:31
Speaker 3: of Delegate Kathy hes Krause, apparently who works on pinball machines.
38:34
Speaker 3: If not, then Mark Krause just got a new hobby
38:37
Speaker 3: because he's gonna start working on pinball machine. Text. Okay,
38:45
Speaker 3: that's a question for logan Scott. I'll get you an answer.
38:47
Speaker 3: I'll get you an answer on that text. Let me
38:50
Speaker 3: see here. Text said I do not work on pinball machines.
38:56

Speaker 3: You never know, you never know are there because I've
44:38
Speaker 3: done a lot of car shows. My brother in law's
44:39
Speaker 3: a he's a car show guy, and actually he's going
44:42
Speaker 3: to be there tomorrow I understand as well, so he
44:44
Speaker 3: and I will be rolling in there tomorrow. But at
44:46
Speaker 3: the same time, with certain some some car shows have
44:50
Speaker 3: you know, we only want this kind of car, we
44:52
Speaker 3: want that kind of truck or whatever. Do you have
44:53
Speaker 3: any restrictions or anything like that or anyone that you're
44:56
Speaker 3: particularly looking for. Is it open to just about any kind?
45:00
Speaker 9: It's open to just a dot anyone who wants to
45:01
Speaker 9: gun Okay, just trying to raise money for the shelter,
45:04
Speaker 9: all right, And again.
45:05
Speaker 3: There is a ten dollars registration fee for that to
45:07
Speaker 3: make sure that you know that. And I would imagine
45:09
Speaker 3: that if somebody just shows up and they're not a
45:11
Speaker 3: car show person, or that they don't bring a car,
45:14
Speaker 3: but they just want to come and they want to look,
45:15
Speaker 3: they want to galk at the cars, which many of
45:17
Speaker 3: us like to do that, or they want to take
45:18
Speaker 3: advantage of the food trucks and hang out with the
45:21
Speaker 3: animals and whatever. You will be accepting donations, right, oh, yes,
45:25
Speaker 3: of course.
45:26
Speaker 9: And anyone who donates will have an opportunity to write
45:29
Speaker 9: their name and put it in a bucket, and at
45:31
Speaker 9: the end of the show, we'll drive draw their name
45:33
Speaker 9: out and they can win.
45:34
Speaker 5: A prize as well.
45:35
Speaker 3: What kind of cool prizes we got? Are you at
45:37
Speaker 3: Liberty the same?
45:39
Speaker 9: It's a secret out.
45:41
Speaker 3: It's a secret you'll find out when you get there.
45:43
Speaker 9: They'll find out there, all right.
45:45
Speaker 3: Haley, where's the best place for me people to learn
45:47
Speaker 3: more and get more information about the events tomorrow?
45:50
Speaker 5: I have a.
45:50
Speaker 9: Facebook event up and I've been updating it pretty much
45:53
Speaker 9: every day with information, all right, And.
45:55
Speaker 3: Again, describe where the location is. Winfield's not that big,
45:59
Speaker 3: but just so people know where it is.
46:01
Speaker 9: It is right beside the police station and in between
46:04
Speaker 9: the Winfield Bridge. It is that huge grass you want
46:06
Speaker 9: right there, all right, so you.
46:08
Speaker 5: Won't be able to miss it.
46:09
Speaker 3: I was going to say, you just look for all
46:10
Speaker 3: the cool cars out there. And again, if you're familiar
46:12
Speaker 3: with that area at all, it's real easy to find
46:14
Speaker 3: because you get city Hall, you get the police station,
46:16
Speaker 3: you got McDonald's, you got everything kind of right there
46:18
Speaker 3: of the speedway. Everything's kind of right there before you
46:20
Speaker 3: get to the bridge. So that's where the event will
46:22
Speaker 3: be ten toal three tomorrow and again I'll be out
46:24
Speaker 3: there with their sister Station ninety eight seven of the
46:26
Speaker 3: Mountha and Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock. Looking forward to
46:29
Speaker 3: seeing that, Haley, great job and putting this thing together.
46:32
Speaker 3: You and Mayor Barrett and all the fine folks over there,
46:34
Speaker 3: we'll see you tomorrow. Thanks a lot, all right, thank you,
46:37
Speaker 3: all right, Haley Morgan. Again, the event is tomorrow. It's
46:40
Speaker 3: a fundraiser for the Putnam County Animal Shelter. I will
46:42
Speaker 3: be there, as I said, representing our sister Station ninety
46:45
Speaker 3: eight seven the Mountain, Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock. The
46:47
Speaker 3: event is happening tomorrow ten till three just in the
46:52
Speaker 3: general vicinity there Winfield City Hall and the Winfield Police
46:56
Speaker 3: Station there. But Dave Island Show on five eighty Live,

47:17
Speaker 3: text here from a good buddy, Johnny Rutherford with the
47:20
Speaker 3: Metro nine to one one folks, And they didn't want
47:22
Speaker 3: to remind us that they've got their pickleball events going
47:26
Speaker 3: on this weekend as well in Nitro. I mean, like
47:29
Speaker 3: the biggest pickleball tournament that's like, I'm going to say
47:31
Speaker 3: it east of the Mississippi. Somebody's got to tell me
47:34
Speaker 3: different that's going on. They're going to do the ribbon
47:36
Speaker 3: cutting of the indoor pickleball facilities there today as well.
47:41
Speaker 3: Text says, oh no, Dave Trump, is Saint China violated
47:44
Speaker 3: the trade deal? Is it taco time again? Look who's here?
47:49
Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, Hide the women and children and the
47:52
Speaker 3: valuables and the meat and cheese products Dave Wilson, mainly
47:56
Speaker 3: the meat and cheese. How you doing, man, I'm great.
47:59
Speaker 3: How are you? You're in town for the softball doings?
48:02
Speaker 3: I take it right, yes, all right? How we looking
48:05
Speaker 3: weather wise out there? Awful? There's this big blog. Just
48:09
Speaker 3: looked at the radar.
48:10
Speaker 17: There's this big blob of green mixed with orange and red.
48:14
Speaker 17: And I don't know much about weather, but I know
48:16
Speaker 17: orange and red is not good, so good luck.
48:20
Speaker 14: Yeah.
48:21
Speaker 3: I was watching my buddy Brian Hughes this morning before
48:24
Speaker 3: he came into work, and he was a little bit
48:26
Speaker 3: iffy on a lot of these evening activities because we
48:29
Speaker 3: got live on the levee in Addison, the softball term
48:31
Speaker 3: it going on over in Little Creek. We have got
48:35
Speaker 3: festival going on. We've got the Dirty Birds with a
48:38
Speaker 3: home game. Logan Scott from V one hundred is camping
48:41
Speaker 3: out there. They starting at six o'clock tonight. Camp Well,
48:44
Speaker 3: he'll be in a tent. So that's not great. So
48:47
Speaker 3: there's that. But it is going to get better. I mean,
48:49
Speaker 3: they do tell us that after like late tonight, in
48:52
Speaker 3: this event, I'm going to be at tomorrow ver in Winfield.
48:54
Speaker 3: Weather's looking great.
48:55
Speaker 5: For them.
48:55
Speaker 3: We just got to get through about the next twelve
48:57
Speaker 3: or you know, twenty four twelve hours or so. So
49:01
Speaker 3: you got the governor on today?
49:02
Speaker 2: Do we is that?
49:03
Speaker 3: Who's on the show? I think so?
49:05
Speaker 7: All right?
49:06
Speaker 3: Probably should have prepared for that. The governor's here? Or
49:09
Speaker 3: is he here?
49:10
Speaker 12: No?
49:10
Speaker 3: No, he's not here, but he'll be on the frown.
49:12
Speaker 3: Who do our best work when we wing it?
49:14
Speaker 2: Yeah?
49:15
Speaker 3: All right? So what else you got today? I don't know, Uh,
49:17
Speaker 3: doctor Clay even have you on the Showjay?
49:20
Speaker 15: What have we got?
49:21
Speaker 3: Going on to ask?
49:22
Speaker 17: Because we were standing over there having a nice conversation
49:25
Speaker 17: and you started giving us the come here, I need
49:27
Speaker 17: you to fill time.
49:28
Speaker 3: No, I didn't say that, that's what you said. That's
49:30
Speaker 3: not what I said. We want to come in. Who
49:32
Speaker 3: are we have?
49:33
Speaker 17: Doctor Klay Marsh is going to join us ten thirty.
49:35
Speaker 17: We probably saw RFK Junior, the Health Secretary, Health and
49:40
Speaker 17: Human Services Secretary. They've changed the COVID shot recommendations on
49:45
Speaker 17: who should be getting the shots, who does not need
49:48
Speaker 17: to get the shots. So we're going to get doctor
49:50
Speaker 17: Marsh's perspective on that. Try to clear up some of
49:53
Speaker 17: the information that's floating around out there and Chris Steyerwaldt
49:57
Speaker 17: friend of the show at eleven oh six. Well, we
50:01
Speaker 17: try to stump them, at least I like to TJ
50:03
Speaker 17: try to see if we can throw something out.
50:04
Speaker 3: There, but he usually has a pretty good response. Man
50:07
Speaker 3: has an answer for everything.
50:09
Speaker 17: We got into presidential egos yesterday. I thought that might
50:12
Speaker 17: be a good Starwalt topic. I'm sure he would be
50:15
Speaker 17: all about that. I mean, because like you said, he
50:16
Speaker 17: does have an answer for everything.
50:18
Speaker 3: I enjoy his Sunday morning show, The Hill that's on
50:22
Speaker 3: news station I watch every Sunday morning. A couple of
50:24
Speaker 3: quick texts here Texas Dave. Just sitting here thinking about
50:27
Speaker 3: what I can't do in West Virginia. My cans can't
50:29
Speaker 3: my kids, can't read what book they want, bull I
50:36
Speaker 3: can't eat what I want, can't drink what I want,
50:39
Speaker 3: can't pick my religion, can't decide if I want to
50:41
Speaker 3: wear a seat belt, just since the Republicans Togever Well,
50:44
Speaker 3: the seat belt thing is not a Republican there that
50:47
Speaker 3: goes well beyond that. It's much easier to weigh in
50:50
Speaker 3: when it's not your show. Can I weigh on that?
50:53
Speaker 3: Uh huh wrong wrong, wrong, wrong all of them. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong?
51:00
Speaker 3: What the hell is wrong with you? All right, I'm
51:02
Speaker 3: gonna move this. This is wrong. It's like my grandfather
51:07
Speaker 3: Clark that from I can do this your show. I
51:12
Speaker 3: don't have to deal with it. Get me camps. Yeah,
51:14
Speaker 3: you know, what do you care that? Dave guy was saying, well,
51:17
Speaker 3: that's right. Speaking of which, final text, since Dave Wilson
51:21
Speaker 3: is in Charleston, how many people turn their heads in
51:24
Speaker 3: the office with a name Dave is called that's a
51:27
Speaker 3: good question. Well, we got Weekly, got my we got myself,
51:31
Speaker 3: and we got you. And so there's three and Weekly
51:34
Speaker 3: rolls in here about two thirty the afternoon. You'll be
51:36
Speaker 3: gone on there. I had to let this guy in
51:39
Speaker 3: the building this morning because we don't trust him with
51:40
Speaker 3: access to the building in Charleston.
51:42
Speaker 18: So uh uh so big on last names around here, though,
51:45
Speaker 18: I've noticed it's always Alan said Wilson said. We said, well, you.
51:49
Speaker 3: Gotta deal with it. You gotta be, you gotta be,
51:51
Speaker 3: you gotta be all right, tj uh the what is
51:54
Speaker 3: that like salmon colored? It is salmon? And as dox S.
51:57
Speaker 18: Evernson would say, they're swimming up stream, and as Johnny
52:00
Speaker 18: Carson replied, when they get there, they're gonna die.
52:03
Speaker 3: What do you uh, what do you call Friday? The
52:07
Speaker 3: fun fun golf shirt Friday? That is more with a
52:10
Speaker 3: fun color this morning. That's gonna say that. That's tame
52:13
Speaker 3: compared to the I was just trying to do a
52:15
