- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty. It
- 0:14Speaker 2: was bo wow that Prime time. Maybe I had a
- 0:18Speaker 2: crush on Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game. You're listening just to Godsend Company. The NFL
- 0:33Speaker 2: Draft is a week away.

- 0:37Speaker 1: the mcshag show wherever you get your podcast.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Todd, thank you for doing this.
- 0:40Speaker 1: What is going on in your world a week out
- 0:43Speaker 1: from the NFL Draft.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I'm just studying your hands up against the computer.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Or something tony looking, and speak of my hands, I mean,
- 0:51Speaker 1: stop breaking my balls.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I promise you to no Shenanigans, just.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Draft talk, just draft talk, and any distraction I can
- 0:57Speaker 3: get at this point is welcome.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Honestly, now, it's like all the reports are done, the
- 1:04Speaker 3: draft board set, your fingers are everywhere. It's just it's
- 1:09Speaker 3: making calls and trying to figure out it's kind of
- 1:12Speaker 3: a waste of a week. When you look back on
- 1:14Speaker 3: it every year, it's like, why did I care so much?
- 1:16Speaker 4: Why am I talking to all these and executives and
- 1:20Speaker 4: you know, like for what to put together like a
- 1:23Speaker 4: mock draft, you know, but uh, but they're fun conversations
- 1:27Speaker 4: and you get a lot of you know, a lot
- 1:28Speaker 4: of information medical reports, injuries, how the boards are stacking up.
- 1:33Speaker 3: And so I've got like, I think five calls lined
- 1:36Speaker 3: up for Saturday and Sunday, fly out to la on
- 1:38Speaker 3: Sunday for for a week in the studio with with
- 1:41Speaker 3: the new Spotify studios and.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Ware we go.
- 1:44Speaker 3: We're live on Netflix for NFL Network Netflix Who Thursday
- 1:51Speaker 3: and Friday night We're live, So come come check out
- 1:53Speaker 3: our draft show We're fired on.
- 1:54Speaker 5: That sounds like a mid career crisis you're going through
- 1:57Speaker 5: or just like I just realized this week is useless?
- 1:59Speaker 5: Is there any the other like all time? And he
- 2:02Speaker 5: just like, maybe I should have done it that way
- 2:03Speaker 5: before I.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Realized a while ago the pro days were pretty useless,
- 2:08Speaker 3: that they were just a TV event, you know, in
- 2:11Speaker 3: the context of what everyone's.
- 2:13Speaker 6: Looking for from them.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Like, no one cares as long as you're you're you're
- 2:17Speaker 3: showing up, you're throwing the ball something, you know, stuff
- 2:19Speaker 3: like that.
- 2:20Speaker 6: But they're good conversations to have with people who.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Are there and and you wind up kind of gathering
- 2:24Speaker 3: some more intel. But I I don't miss going to
- 2:27Speaker 3: the pro days from from my old life. And Kiper
- 2:30Speaker 3: would never leave the compound like well, of course yes,
- 2:35Speaker 3: and and he was smart enough to put that in
- 2:37Speaker 3: his deal and and had the had the hammer to
- 2:39Speaker 3: drop on his contract negotiations. So I became the you know,
- 2:43Speaker 3: the the pro day guy bouncing like one year. It
- 2:45Speaker 3: was like Columbus down to Tuscaloosa to you know, to Lexington,
- 2:50Speaker 3: Kentucky too. I did usc and back in one day
- 2:54Speaker 3: so I could get to another way.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I don't miss those, right, So Mel had that put
- 3:00Speaker 1: into his contract. That's a that's pretty fascinating.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I love it.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it used to be he'd be up
- 3:04Speaker 3: in Bristol like on and off for weeks and you know,
- 3:08Speaker 3: in March and April, and then I think he cut
- 3:10Speaker 3: it down to like six days that he had to
- 3:12Speaker 3: leave in the hyper compound the entire year, and then
- 3:14Speaker 3: three of them were for.
- 3:15Speaker 1: The draft, so todd as you know, we're a South
- 3:19Speaker 1: Florida based show. So I'm wondering here, Rubin Bain, how
- 3:23Speaker 1: much is he going to fall because of the latest
- 3:25Speaker 1: news involving Rubin Bain, and that of course being the
- 3:27Speaker 1: car accident.
- 3:29Speaker 3: He's it's not going to be because of that, right, Okay,
- 3:34Speaker 3: And let's let.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Me reframe it. NFL teams have known this for a
- 3:38Speaker 2: long time.
- 3:39Speaker 3: It was not news to them when when I was
- 3:42Speaker 3: made aware of it in mid January and.
- 3:46Speaker 6: Just before the combine, I saw the Senior Bowl, so.
- 3:50Speaker 3: They've had plenty of This isn't like Laramie Tunsil, where
- 3:53Speaker 3: it's like the day of the draft and some teams
- 3:55Speaker 3: are scrambling to try to figure out what this information
- 3:58Speaker 3: means and where it came from.
- 4:01Speaker 6: And it's not like Jalen.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Carter, even though it involves a fatality and and tragically
- 4:07Speaker 3: and with a with a vehicle and speeding and reckless driving.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I famously like I got not trouble. I just I
- 4:16Speaker 3: took on a lot of water for that. I told
- 4:20Speaker 3: you the fine bomb stuff we went. We had a
- 4:21Speaker 3: long conversation about that, Like great teammate Paul throwing me
- 4:26Speaker 3: under the bus that I don't have any sort but
- 4:28Speaker 3: I knew that. What I was talking about in like
- 4:31Speaker 3: December of that draft season was there's there's I've got
- 4:36Speaker 3: two pages of notes on practice habits, fighting with coaches,
- 4:40Speaker 3: not showing up to meetings, and taking classes from home,
- 4:43Speaker 3: like like the football and personal character stuff.
- 4:47Speaker 6: And then and then that incident.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Occurred and he got arrested at the combine, had to leave,
- 4:52Speaker 3: came back, and so that was all kind of happening
- 4:56Speaker 3: real time. But everyone knew about Jalen Carter and all
- 4:59Speaker 3: and everything that came with them.
- 5:01Speaker 6: I'm also aware of the conversations that.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Had between agent and general manager.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And kind of parameters that were put in in.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Order to even take him at nine, even though he
- 5:11Speaker 3: was the best player in that draft. For ruben Bain,
- 5:14Speaker 3: he's a really good young man. Talk to anyone in Miami,
- 5:17Speaker 3: you guys are down there.
- 5:18Speaker 6: He galves.
- 5:20Speaker 3: He was like Carson Beck, came in and did a
- 5:22Speaker 3: great job and did everything it was asked.
- 5:24Speaker 6: And but Ruben Bain was the heartbeat of that program.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Jason Taylor loves him, Yes, love It's not it's.
- 5:31Speaker 6: Not like no, he's a good guy.
- 5:32Speaker 3: We stand by him. It's like, no, get out of here.
- 5:36Speaker 3: He made a horrible mistake and and you hope there's
- 5:39Speaker 3: maturity in that. And and fortunately the family, it sounds
- 5:42Speaker 3: like of the young lady who was tragically killed has
- 5:47Speaker 3: has come.
- 5:47Speaker 2: To peace with it.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And so honestly, I think the person that the posted
- 5:52Speaker 3: this is kind of a scumbag. The timing of it.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Look at me, click on my It's just it's interesting
- 5:58Speaker 3: because you know what, I know several respected insiders who
- 6:02Speaker 3: had this information. It's not indicative of who Ruben Bain
- 6:04Speaker 3: is as a person, right, and NFL teams have already
- 6:08Speaker 3: been aware of this information, vetted this information.
- 6:10Speaker 2: The only concern is, you know, the was more come.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Up after the fact, Like we had Edger and Cooper
- 6:17Speaker 3: the linebacker who had an incident pre draft and then
- 6:20Speaker 3: he got drafted and got all the money and then
- 6:22Speaker 3: there were lawsuits after that became a distraction. There's some
- 6:26Speaker 3: there's some concern with that, but it's the short arms
- 6:29Speaker 3: are going to factor into where he gets drafted way
- 6:32Speaker 3: more so than that unfortunate incident.
- 6:35Speaker 7: God, you have the Jets picking David Bailey, the edge
- 6:38Speaker 7: rusher from Texas Tech at two, and then you have
- 6:41Speaker 7: them trading up to seven to draft Carnel Tate, the
- 6:44Speaker 7: receiver from Ohio State. It seems like most draft analysts
- 6:47Speaker 7: seem to agree it's not a matter if the Jets
- 6:50Speaker 7: pick a wide receiver with that second first round pick,
- 6:52Speaker 7: but who and when do you think that's the right
- 6:54Speaker 7: read there?
- 6:55Speaker 5: Because as you know, Todd, we're at South Florid to show,
- 6:57Speaker 5: but we're really a Jets show.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yes, what I mean, that's what South Florida is. It's
- 7:02Speaker 2: basically New York's country.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Yes, it's it's smart New Yorkers.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That moved moved away through the Yeah, well they're not
- 7:08Speaker 1: so smart. They're Jet fans, so that's true.
- 7:14Speaker 6: So David Bailey, I still feel good about it.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Is interesting and the canceled thirty visit read into it
- 7:20Speaker 3: as you want. You know, the information coming out is
- 7:23Speaker 3: we had everything we need. We you know, we spent
- 7:25Speaker 3: we spent a lot of time with them at Texas
- 7:26Speaker 3: Tech Pro Day.
- 7:27Speaker 6: It's just it's unique.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I texted someone and I said, you know, is this
- 7:33Speaker 3: is this just a BS? Or is it like did
- 7:34Speaker 3: this really happen last night? And it's like, no, we
- 7:37Speaker 3: we canceled the meeting. I tried to kind of prod
- 7:39Speaker 3: back and didn't get much in return. So it's either
- 7:43Speaker 3: Bailey or recent too.
- 7:44Speaker 6: I know that for a fact, And when.
- 7:46Speaker 3: I spoke to source earlier over the weekend, it felt
- 7:51Speaker 3: like the heavy lean was on Bailey wide receiver. Here's
- 7:54Speaker 3: the deal with the receivers, right, let's have a bigger
- 7:56Speaker 3: picture conversation. Okay, there are six receivers that could and
- 8:01Speaker 3: probably will go in the first round. Carnel, Tate, Jordan Tyson,
- 8:06Speaker 3: and Mackay Lemon are the top three.
- 8:09Speaker 2: They're in a tier of their own for the majority
- 8:12Speaker 2: of teams. Okay.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Then there's this second tier of receivers that include and
- 8:18Speaker 3: if you take a straw poll, surprisingly enough, despite all
- 8:21Speaker 3: the talk about Omar Cooper Junior from Indiana, my information
- 8:26Speaker 3: is that Casey conception On from Texas A and.
- 8:28Speaker 2: M would be the fourth receiver.
- 8:30Speaker 3: But regardless of how you stack them, it's it's Tate, Tyson, Lemon,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and then there's a gap and then there's conception On
- 8:39Speaker 3: Cooper Boston Denzel Boston from Washington.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Okay, So if you're the Jets, why do you make
- 8:45Speaker 6: this move?
- 8:46Speaker 3: Because you have four picks in the top forty four,
- 8:48Speaker 3: you'd like to use all of them, but you got
- 8:50Speaker 3: a bunch of picks next year, including three in the
- 8:52Speaker 3: first round as well.
- 8:55Speaker 6: How big of a difference in your mind?
- 8:57Speaker 3: Speaking of Moji and Eric Glenn and there they're inner circle?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Is there between a Carnel Tait Tyson Lemon and conception
- 9:08Speaker 3: she owned.
- 9:08Speaker 6: Cooper and Boston second group?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:11Speaker 6: Right, first group, second group, So that that's that's what
- 9:14Speaker 6: the debate would be.
- 9:15Speaker 3: But do you want to give up the forty fourth
- 9:17Speaker 3: pick that could be a starting linebacker, could be a
- 9:20Speaker 3: starting or nickel corner or you know.
- 9:23Speaker 6: So that's that's the discussion going on with the Jets.
- 9:27Speaker 2: How big is that gap? Sorry? Is he?
- 9:30Speaker 6: It's not, It's not massive.
- 9:32Speaker 3: And the reality is Carnel Tait's a four or five
- 9:36Speaker 3: two receiver who was never the number one guy if
- 9:38Speaker 3: you're trying to knock all these guys, right, But JSN
- 9:42Speaker 3: wasn't a number one guy, and a Machiabuka was never
- 9:44Speaker 3: a number one guy, So you can kind of debate
- 9:46Speaker 3: that back and forth. Jordan Tyson is arguably the most
- 9:50Speaker 3: talented receiver. Like the routes he runs, the flexibility the
- 9:53Speaker 3: ability to catch on the run. He he's a special talent,
- 9:58Speaker 3: but he missed one out of every three games in
- 10:01Speaker 3: Colorado and Arizona State during his four years, and and
- 10:05Speaker 3: and there's some concern.
- 10:06Speaker 6: He's he's working out on Friday, tomorrow, what's today?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Thursday? Yeah, tomorrow on the seventeen idea, what it is?
- 10:13Speaker 6: Yes, it tells me, it tells you where I am.
- 10:16Speaker 6: And it's a big workout, like Jermald and McCoy.
- 10:19Speaker 3: That was a huge workout, the second corner in the class.
- 10:22Speaker 3: All of a sudden he runs a four to three eight,
- 10:23Speaker 3: and the information is like, well, maybe it's mensor delayne
- 10:26Speaker 3: and and McCoy.
- 10:28Speaker 2: You know, maybe it's one A, one B.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Maybe McCoy goes before him, depending do they need man
- 10:32Speaker 3: to man or more of a flexible guy, like flexible
- 10:34Speaker 3: guy like like Delaane. But then you find out, well,
- 10:38Speaker 3: the knee stuff and the medicals is not great. Degenerative
- 10:43Speaker 3: is the word I keep hearing from NFL teams, and
- 10:46Speaker 3: and the and the workout, the position workouts not as good.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Everyone saw four three eight, Yeah, you an awesome workout. Well,
- 10:51Speaker 3: people who were there noticed nothing was on the on
- 10:54Speaker 3: social media the internet about the video of him working
- 10:57Speaker 3: out as a dB. And so I say all this
- 11:01Speaker 3: because Tyson has a workout on tomorrow on Friday.
- 11:05Speaker 6: If that goes great, I could.
- 11:07Speaker 3: See him being the first receiver off the board. I'm
- 11:09Speaker 3: told that New Orleans could take him in eight. I'm
- 11:10Speaker 3: told the Chiefs could take him at nine. And so
- 11:13Speaker 3: that part's intriguing to me. But you do have the
- 11:16Speaker 3: injury stuff with him and with mccaonon Lemon again, four
- 11:19Speaker 3: five receiver, a little bit undersized, awesome tape that Iowa
- 11:24Speaker 3: game in and of itself is enough reason to draft
- 11:26Speaker 3: him in the top fifteen. He's so physical, he's great
- 11:29Speaker 3: after the catch. Classic tough guy. Would be a perfect
- 11:33Speaker 3: fit for Sean McVay. But yeah, so there's a gap.
- 11:37Speaker 3: But I don't want to say it's massive because this
- 11:40Speaker 3: isn't like Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson.
- 11:43Speaker 6: You know, it's not that kind of class.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Right, and Todd, I've been reading conflicting theories on potential
- 11:49Speaker 5: trades in this draft. They're saying one side sort of
- 11:52Speaker 5: saying because it's not quarterback heavy and because like you mentioned,
- 11:56Speaker 5: with the wide receivers, Yeah, there's a group that might
- 11:58Speaker 5: separate themselves, but not like one specific standout, that there
- 12:03Speaker 5: won't be a lot.
- 12:04Speaker 6: Of movement at the top of this draft.
- 12:06Speaker 5: The other side says, because there's so much parody in
- 12:09Speaker 5: the judgment of these players that maybe people's judgments will
- 12:12Speaker 5: vary and therefore they will like somebody will say, oh,
- 12:14Speaker 5: this guy's going to be a steal at fourteen, let
- 12:16Speaker 5: me trade up for him. Either of those theories play
- 12:19Speaker 5: into whether you think there's gonna be heavy trades in
- 12:22Speaker 5: this draft.
- 12:24Speaker 6: I think I would go with the former over the ladder.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Even though I just did a mock draft that had
- 12:29Speaker 3: five trades in the in the first round.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I enjoyed all five of them. By the way, yes, yeah,
- 12:35Speaker 2: I kind of did too.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I was reflecting some of the information you're hearing. But
- 12:40Speaker 3: just because you're hearing some of that information and talking
- 12:43Speaker 3: to teams and what they're what they're being told, doesn't
- 12:45Speaker 3: mean that they'll wind up, you know, panning out.
- 12:49Speaker 6: Here's the tough part.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Is he right?
- 12:52Speaker 6: There's a real elite class in this in this draft,
- 12:55Speaker 6: and take Mendoza out of it.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You either put him up there with the elite elite,
- 12:58Speaker 3: or in my opinion, he's.
- 12:59Speaker 6: He's a notch below.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Like I don't have him with the same grade as
- 13:02Speaker 3: Caleb Williams or Drake May or Jaden Daniels, and I
- 13:06Speaker 3: have him right around where I had cam Ward last year.
- 13:09Speaker 3: But a lot of people had cam Ward a little
- 13:10Speaker 3: bit higher than I did.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Take him out of it.
- 13:13Speaker 3: You look at this class, the elite class is truly
- 13:17Speaker 3: the best four football players. I think in this draft
- 13:21Speaker 3: running back Jeremiah Love, off ball, linebacker Sonny Styles, safety
- 13:28Speaker 3: Caleb Downs, and I would honestly argue Venga y Wanna,
- 13:32Speaker 3: the offensive.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Guard from Brin State.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And then you talk about Rvel Reese, who's a conversion player.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Got to develop him, better, have a plan for him.
- 13:43Speaker 3: And then if you want to throw David Bailey in there,
- 13:45Speaker 3: you can. I think he's right on the cusp, but
- 13:48Speaker 3: he's not great versus the run. He's got a little
- 13:51Speaker 3: bit of tightness. So like those are the guys right there,
- 13:55Speaker 3: Jeremiah Love might be the best player in this draft.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It's hard enough to take a running back at four
- 14:00Speaker 3: if you're Tennessee, at three, if you're Arizona, at seven,
- 14:03Speaker 3: if you're Washington, and make him the sixth or seventh
- 14:07Speaker 3: or eighth or ninth highest paid running back before he
- 14:09Speaker 3: takes a snap, before he carries the b once in
- 14:11Speaker 3: the league.
- 14:12Speaker 6: It's hard enough to take a safety.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I mean, look at where Hamilton went, what fourteen, it's
- 14:18Speaker 3: been a you know, safeties normally don't go this high,
- 14:22Speaker 3: but they're gonna go. And the reason I say all
- 14:25Speaker 3: this is it's hard enough to take those positions as
- 14:28Speaker 3: high as that there. They're going to go in the
- 14:30Speaker 3: top ten, But then to trade capital to go up
- 14:33Speaker 3: and get one of those guys, it's a tough pill
- 14:36Speaker 3: to swallow. But then you say, you know what, there's
- 14:37Speaker 3: only four or five eliteus in this entire draft.
- 14:40Speaker 6: I want to get one of them.
- 14:41Speaker 3: So is Dallas going to say Sunny Styles is sitting
- 14:44Speaker 3: there at six, which I don't know that he's going
- 14:45Speaker 3: to be, because the Giants could very well take him,
- 14:48Speaker 3: or I think Caleb Downs at five, or for Dallas
- 14:52Speaker 3: they may want either. Or for that new defensive scheme
- 14:54Speaker 3: they need a guy who can they gave up. I
- 14:57Speaker 3: think second worst or maybe worse in the league tight
- 15:01Speaker 3: ends and tight ends and running backs receiving yards last year.
- 15:05Speaker 3: The miscommunication the breakdowns in the secondary styles is I
- 15:10Speaker 3: was told by one executive, Sunny Styles from Ohio State,
- 15:14Speaker 3: He's going to be a CEO of a company. He's
- 15:15Speaker 3: going to run a company one day when he's done
- 15:17Speaker 3: with football. Like he's that smart and like got it
- 15:19Speaker 3: together that much. Caleb down has been the smartest football
- 15:22Speaker 3: player in the country since he stepped on the campus
- 15:24Speaker 3: at Tuscaloosa and continue to be the last two years
- 15:27Speaker 3: in Columbus. So I could see Dallas pulling the trigger.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I think two teams to watch that are willing to
- 15:35Speaker 3: take to move out of their spots for even maybe
- 15:38Speaker 3: a little less than value.
- 15:40Speaker 6: Arizona at three.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Let's get out of three and move back three, four,
- 15:44Speaker 3: five to seven spots and get an offensive tackle at
- 15:48Speaker 3: a better value and get an additional pick, because we
- 15:51Speaker 3: might want to move up for Ty Simpson. And if
- 15:53Speaker 3: we don't go get Simpson this year, we're going to
- 15:55Speaker 3: maybe try to get some capital for next year to
- 15:57Speaker 3: go up and get our quarterback then. And then also
- 15:59Speaker 3: Cleveland similar situation. Need an offensive tackle, don't want to
- 16:03Speaker 3: have to take it at six, would love to take
- 16:05Speaker 3: one a few picks later. Give us some capital for
- 16:07Speaker 3: next year if we can get it, so that we're
- 16:10Speaker 3: in position. If Shador doesn't work out this year, Deshaun
- 16:13Speaker 3: Watson or Gabriel or whatever they're you know, whatever works
- 16:16Speaker 3: out in Cleveland.
- 16:17Speaker 6: So I think I think.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Those are the two spots to really look at for
- 16:20Speaker 3: trades in the top ten.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Should you see the Giants taking love? Who's going to
- 16:24Speaker 1: be making the Giants pick? Will it be Joe Shane
- 16:26Speaker 1: or John Horbord. It's gonna be John Harbaugh.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Right, yes, sir?
- 16:30Speaker 1: Can you see them taking a running back there? I
- 16:34Speaker 1: wouldn't completely rule it out, but but mostly rule it out.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I think, uh, it was interesting. I talked to two people.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Who worked for a long time with with Harbaugh and
- 16:44Speaker 3: obviously he was in lockstep with Ozzie Newsome for a while, yes,
- 16:49Speaker 3: excuse me, and then and then Eric ta Costa the
- 16:53Speaker 3: current jam and and so at the end of the day,
- 16:56Speaker 3: the general manager kind of made that pick, but it
- 16:58Speaker 3: was always in you know, in tandem.
- 17:01Speaker 2: This is the.
- 17:02Speaker 3: First time while it's still technically in tandem and they're working.
- 17:06Speaker 3: This is John's peck, right, And so I asked a
- 17:08Speaker 3: couple of people who were like knowing him, and I'm
- 17:12Speaker 3: looking at Francis Mile we.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Know with the offensive tackle.
- 17:15Speaker 3: They want to solidify their offensive line, they want to
- 17:17Speaker 3: be physical and all that. And I'm looking at the
- 17:20Speaker 3: safety Caleb Downs and then their history of safeties with
- 17:23Speaker 3: their coordinators, right A. Minter and McDonald like the deep
- 17:27Speaker 3: passion for safety position. And then also linebacker dating back
- 17:31Speaker 3: to like Ray Lewis Roquan Smith like all the and
- 17:34Speaker 3: and they both of them said he wants all three,
- 17:40Speaker 3: like has more value for the linebacker and safety than most.
- 17:44Speaker 3: But something about that offensive lineman I just think. And
- 17:48Speaker 3: then and then I talked to another executive was like,
- 17:49Speaker 3: it's absolutely defense, you know, And and then I started
- 17:52Speaker 3: talking about Then I put out the mock draft with
- 17:54Speaker 3: now we know five and I get a couple of texts.
- 17:56Speaker 6: Like you missed on that one. It's styles are down.
- 18:01Speaker 3: So I'm gonna have one of those two Ohio State
- 18:03Speaker 3: defensive players going to the Giants and in the final
- 18:05Speaker 3: mock draft next week.
- 18:06Speaker 2: This would drive me crazy.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Your job too many people in my years, I mean
- 18:10Speaker 1: Jesus Christ.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I know, I know, and sorting through what's real and
- 18:14Speaker 3: who's trying to maybe like get me off of a
- 18:16Speaker 3: player right exactly. You know, gig on the medical in
- 18:20Speaker 3: this guy, and I make some mother calls like medical.
- 18:26Speaker 1: At least you know they're paying attention, though, I mean.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Yes, Todd.
- 18:31Speaker 7: From the outside looking in, it feels like nobody knows
- 18:33Speaker 7: what to do with Kenyon Sadik, the tight end from Oregon,
- 18:36Speaker 7: where it's clear he's the number one tight end in
- 18:38Speaker 7: this draft, but his production doesn't really match previous number
- 18:42Speaker 7: one tight ends in other drafts. How do you see
- 18:45Speaker 7: his draft night playing out? It was give you a
- 18:50Speaker 7: little backstory. It was interesting this year. I talked to
- 18:53Speaker 7: some scouts who.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Had left Oregon within recent weeks and they were and
- 18:57Speaker 3: I was asking about Sadik and Theeneman and some of
- 18:59Speaker 3: their other pross by sad Dante Moore at the time
- 19:02Speaker 3: this is in like I don't know, October, and they're
- 19:06Speaker 3: kind of frustrated with them at the time.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I loved him when he was the when he was
- 19:11Speaker 3: the number two tight end. He was grinding, he was working,
- 19:13Speaker 3: he was like nothing, you know, fighting through Nix and
- 19:16Speaker 3: all that stuff behind Jake for not Jake for who
- 19:21Speaker 3: was Terence Ferguson the year before, And then he becomes
- 19:24Speaker 3: the guy and it's like a little bit, you know,
- 19:28Speaker 3: I don't want to say diva, but just like not
- 19:30Speaker 3: as consistent, not as and and so that information gets
- 19:34Speaker 3: to me.
- 19:34Speaker 6: I mentioned something about it, and the folks at Oregon
- 19:37Speaker 6: are pissed.
- 19:38Speaker 3: They sent out a letter to like NFL teams and
- 19:39Speaker 3: scouts and all that about like information that we share
- 19:43Speaker 3: with you, you know. And and from that point on,
- 19:46Speaker 3: you saw, like a week later he came. Sidique was
- 19:50Speaker 3: like he if you really go look at it just
- 19:52Speaker 3: as stats if you want.
- 19:54Speaker 6: The production went and you could like he was playing.
- 19:57Speaker 3: With like more I don't know fire right right, And
- 20:01Speaker 3: so I think I'm not saying I lit a fire.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I'm saying I think the information, I think what the
- 20:07Speaker 3: coaches were doing, I think like it finally struck.
- 20:10Speaker 6: A chord with him.
- 20:11Speaker 2: But the production was not what you'd expect.
- 20:13Speaker 3: You look at Tyler Warren a year ago, and my
- 20:15Speaker 3: grade on Warren in Loveland, grades on Warren in Loveland
- 20:18Speaker 3: a year ago or higher than that of Sadik. But
- 20:22Speaker 3: Warren was like, you know, every game, it was like
- 20:24Speaker 3: seven nine catches. He was snapping the ball, he was
- 20:27Speaker 3: running the ball, you know. And then Loveland like they
- 20:29Speaker 3: didn't have an offense that got him the ball a ton,
- 20:31Speaker 3: but it was like seventeen yard reception and like I
- 20:34Speaker 3: run after Kit and Sadiq had some of that right,
- 20:39Speaker 3: and then he goes to the combine he runs like,
- 20:41Speaker 3: you know, record breaking time for a tight end and
- 20:44Speaker 3: he had like forty plus inch vertical And you can
- 20:46Speaker 3: see all the skills, So you're kind of weighing all
- 20:49Speaker 3: those things. He's not coming into the league like as
- 20:53Speaker 3: polished and ready and like proven as Warren and Loveland
- 20:59Speaker 3: and even brock Bauers, right, but he's got these traits
- 21:03Speaker 3: that are so unique and he has done a lot,
- 21:06Speaker 3: you know, it's just not to that level.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I think, Carolina, what is it?
- 21:11Speaker 3: Nineteen is probably the parachute I could see, Like I've
- 21:16Speaker 3: heard Kansas City has some interest, But I've heard like
- 21:19Speaker 3: five names with Kansas City, from offensive Lineman to to
- 21:22Speaker 3: ruben Bain to most Probably the heaviest name, or the
- 21:27Speaker 3: most mentioned name recently is Jordan Tyson. If he works out,
- 21:30Speaker 3: so I wouldn't I wouldn't suspect that he's going to
- 21:33Speaker 3: be the pick there, but that's where the watch starts.
- 21:35Speaker 3: So somewhere nine to nineteen would be my would be
- 21:38Speaker 3: my guest.
- 21:39Speaker 5: At town I'm just going to say it, when you
- 21:41Speaker 5: have no offense anybody else, When you combine the quality
- 21:43Speaker 5: of information you have, the way you presented, and your
- 21:46Speaker 5: depth of knowledge on the sport, you got to be
- 21:49Speaker 5: the best draft guy who's ever done it.
- 21:50Speaker 2: And any spoiler is going to be when you're throwing
- 21:53Speaker 2: the hair.
- 21:54Speaker 5: I mean, yes, well, that's just the bonus I appreciate
- 21:58Speaker 5: that is he I work at it.
- 22:00Speaker 6: I do my best, you know, that's all.
- 22:02Speaker 2: That's all I wanted to say.
- 22:05Speaker 6: That's a great way to end. I don't know that's
- 22:07Speaker 6: what I was.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I mean, I was gonna ask you how much longer
- 22:09Speaker 1: do Baine's arms need to beat to be the number
- 22:12Speaker 1: one pick of the draft?
- 22:13Speaker 2: I mean, they're not going to grow.
- 22:15Speaker 3: So it's twenty years, and I don't think anyone looked
- 22:19Speaker 3: past twenty years the report that you know that it
- 22:22Speaker 3: was two decades of there hasn't been an edge rusher
- 22:25Speaker 3: in the first round with sub thirty one inch arms,
- 22:29Speaker 3: nor has there been an edge rusher in the NFL
- 22:31Speaker 3: with double digit sacks with so it's you know, you
- 22:35Speaker 3: and I both have.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Small fingers that sawg O.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yes, yes, we know what we know what it's like
- 22:39Speaker 3: to wake up every day with no limitation, yes, and
- 22:43Speaker 3: comes back around this dude's hand.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I know it all too well. The McShay show.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Check it out wherever you get your podcast. Listen.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I agree with Izzy, but what busy?
- 22:51Speaker 1: I say the same thing the mouth all right, yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 1: what a perfect time to end his computer going, yeah straight.
- 23:00Speaker 2: My computer's fine. I just said.

- 23:20Speaker 3: what would come. Be there with us. It'll be a

- 23:55Speaker 6: To mel Let me all right, Taylor, get on it.
