- 0:00Speaker 1: We're going to find out whether or not he's tapping
- 0:03Speaker 1: us along or not, and if he is, we'll respond
- 0:06Speaker 1: a little bit differently, but it'll take about a week
- 0:08Speaker 1: and a half two weeks.
- 0:11Speaker 2: President Trump's signaled today that his patients with Vladimir Putin
- 0:14Speaker 2: is running thin, and a decision about how to deal
- 0:16Speaker 2: with Russia's handling of Ukraine peace talks could come in
- 0:20Speaker 2: two weeks. The nightcap is still here, all right, Max,
- 0:25Speaker 2: walk us through your take on this, because we're not
- 0:29Speaker 2: currently doing anything to help Ukraine. So that's the biggest
- 0:32Speaker 2: hookup to Putin right there?
- 0:34Speaker 1: Sure, sure, yeah? He negotiated in reverse?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Here, what is a negotiation reverse?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Nothing like? He stopped any and all military weapons transfers
- 0:46Speaker 1: to the Ukrainian military, stopped intelligence sharing, stopped targeting support
- 0:52Speaker 1: and assistance, alienated the Ukrainian leadership, publicly embarrassed them, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: then turned around and thought that he had leverage with
- 1:01Speaker 1: Vladimir Putin. It made zero sense. So what did Putin do?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Like the XKGB agent he is, he sought to try
- 1:11Speaker 1: to stroke Donald's ego and at the same hand push
- 1:16Speaker 1: a military offensive. And what you see with Donald Trump's
- 1:20Speaker 1: standing there is he's almost utterly confused because he was
- 1:23Speaker 1: rendered ineffective and he looks helpless on the national stage.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And that's not just politically embarrassing, but it's also horrible
- 1:33Speaker 1: for the United States of America because we all look weak.
- 1:36Speaker 1: That's the commander in chief of the United States military
- 1:40Speaker 1: who's standing up there saying, well, just give me a
- 1:42Speaker 1: week or two and I'm gonna push this guy along
- 1:45Speaker 1: as if he's gonna call him and yell at him.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's an utter disgrace and for the good of the country,
- 1:51Speaker 1: we hope he gets a better strategy here.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He doesn't need to call him and yell at him.
- 1:55Speaker 2: He's got Steve Wikoff to head over.
- 1:57Speaker 1: There is real estate, buddy, Correct, what.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Is going to actually move putin? Because right now, I mean,
- 2:06Speaker 2: even if Donald Trump is saying threatening, hey, I may
- 2:09Speaker 2: impose sanctions, he didn't even impose tariffs on Russia, right,
- 2:14Speaker 2: he imposed tariffs on any on parts of the world
- 2:18Speaker 2: they didn't even have humans inhabiting it, right, parts of
- 2:21Speaker 2: the world that only had penguins. And we didn't impose
- 2:23Speaker 2: tariffs on Russia. So why should we think sanctions are
- 2:26Speaker 2: coming anytime soon?
- 2:27Speaker 3: No, I don't think we should. And I think when
- 2:29Speaker 3: you look at that what he said, I think the
- 2:32Speaker 3: most important part of it is he said his famous
- 2:34Speaker 3: two weeks. And we know from Trump one point zero
- 2:38Speaker 3: that two weeks can mean any number of things.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Two weeks is like many people, Yes, what's your take
- 2:43Speaker 2: on this?
- 2:44Speaker 4: Look he said, we'll see if he's tapping us along,
- 2:47Speaker 4: he is being tapped along. I mean, this was a
- 2:49Speaker 4: promise to President Trump had solved this in my first
- 2:51Speaker 4: day in office. I'm just gonna take a day. We're
- 2:52Speaker 4: going to figure out this crisis. We've seen over and
- 2:55Speaker 4: over again his overtures and efforts backfire. There was that
- 2:58Speaker 4: weird meeting in Turkey where maybe President Trump was going
- 3:01Speaker 4: to show up, and suddenly each delegation went to the
- 3:03Speaker 4: wrong city and nothing happened. And I think that President
- 3:05Speaker 4: Selunsky has played this pretty well. What he's saying over
- 3:08Speaker 4: and over again is he's ready to talk if President
- 3:10Speaker 4: Trump's there, in President Putin's there, it hasn't happened. So
- 3:12Speaker 4: he's going this into happening and showing that he's not
- 3:14Speaker 4: willing to be party to these talks whenever they happen.
- 3:17Speaker 4: What's going to change the circumstances here. I think it's
- 3:19Speaker 4: just the peak that the president has the fact that
- 3:21Speaker 4: he's going to be publicly humiliated as this is where
- 3:25Speaker 4: he's been unable to get these parties to the table
- 3:27Speaker 4: in the way that he said he'd be able to.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Well, today Germany said they are going to increase funding
- 3:32Speaker 2: and production of weapons for Ukraine. Will that be enough
- 3:35Speaker 2: to help?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Well, it certainly doesn't hurt. And you can't underestimate just
- 3:41Speaker 1: the extraordinary bravery and ingenuity being displayed by the Ukrainian
- 3:45Speaker 1: military and the Ukrainian people each and every day. But
- 3:49Speaker 1: let's make no bones about it here, the Russian military
- 3:53Speaker 1: is winning. They are pushing further into Ukraine each and
- 3:58Speaker 1: every day, and that's awfully scary politically speaking. If this
- 4:04Speaker 1: fails and the Russian military takes Ukraine, that is equivalent
- 4:08Speaker 1: politically to what happened in Afghanistan to the Democrats. And
- 4:12Speaker 1: soon enough, I pray to God, soon enough, Donald Trump
- 4:16Speaker 1: realizes that. You already see Republican senators coming out and
- 4:20Speaker 1: breaking with Trump and calling for enhanced sanctions. Tomorrow, the
- 4:23Speaker 1: next week, they will call for increased weapon transfers to
- 4:27Speaker 1: the Ukrainian military. We will finally see that the Republican
- 4:31Speaker 1: Party fingers crossed, are not fully owned subsidiaries of crazy
- 4:36Speaker 1: MAGA and Crazy DJT, as Howard Lutnik likes to call him,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and they'll actually do.
- 4:42Speaker 2: The right thing before we go. Then Trump said, I
- 4:45Speaker 2: want to get it right. If it wasn't for him quote,
- 4:48Speaker 2: lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and Putin's predecessor responded by warning, with the possibility of
- 4:57Speaker 2: World War three, how unstable is this situation because the
- 5:02Speaker 2: truth is most people aren't paying attention to it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: This, I think is the scariest thing happening right now
- 5:08Speaker 1: in the global stage.
